Lovely and must go when in texel. Honestly speaking there isn’t a lot. But whatever is there is very nice and interesting. One can leave this marine zoo with a plethora of information and knowledge. Fish feeding and seal shows were quite interesting. Clean washrooms and a decent restaurant.

This is a conservatory for the seals. You get to learn all about seals and most of the sea creatures found in the wadden sea. This is more of a museum and not an aquarium. So you don't find a lot of fish varieties here. It's definitely a great place for the kids to learn about sea animals.

Nice museum with plenty of interesting exhibits. A special section for children up to 12 years to experience information about island wildlife in a playful way. The outside area is the best where the seals are housed. There are signs there that explain when a seal was found, where it was found and what type of problem it has. They look well taken care of and most of them get to go back into nature when they feel better. Decent restaurant and clean facilities.

Nice place, beautiful location close to the seaside. You can really feel they love animals and they are working for helping them.

Another quality museum in The NL. Managed to see the seals feeding and the giant cheeky seagulls diving into the water to snatch the fish from the seals. Informative museum inside with lots of resources to help explain to children and adults of why it is imperative to look after our environment.

Great place to go if your visiting the island. I went with my girlfriend and we had a lovely time seeing all the seals and walking around the nature reserve connected to Ecomare. It's a place advertised for families with kids but a worthwhile place to visit if your traveling alone or with some one.

Lovely place for young and old people. We really enjoyed the time there. The presentation in the whale room was very interesting as well and the speaker was very friendly. You should take care that they charge you the right amount for the tickets because under 26 you pay a lower price. In our case we thought we looked young enough, but we were charged with the higher price without even been asked for our ages before, but after telling the employee there was no problem anymore.

What an incredible place Ecomare Texel is for families. From the moment we stepped inside, our kids were enthralled by the captivating exhibits that showcased the beauty and importance of marine life. The highlight for them was undoubtedly the seal rehabilitation center. Witnessing the dedicated team caring for injured seals left a lasting impression and sparked conversations about animal conservation that continued long after our visit. The hands-on activities and displays made learning about marine ecology so much fun. We can't recommend Ecomare Texel enough - it's a fantastic way to spend quality time with your children while nurturing their love for the environment.

For only 15€ you can enjoy of a nice sea museum and see the beautiful seals sanctuary. If you come to texel, definitely you have to visit this wonderful place. in this sanctuary the seals are rehabilitated to be returned to the sea in the future. Very educational experience

Regrettably the weather truly did not help, however albeit the attraction seem to offer plenty of information on see life in the area it is aimed at the younger generation. At the tills the POS did not work with foreign cards. Most of the explanation is in Dutch and no English so it may be difficult to decipher. Overall is good but could better if open to other languages and update the POS.

Such a nice aquarium and exhibition! If you come to Texel, you should definitely visit! The thing that I liked the most was the discount age is from 4 to 25!

Not the tallest, but gives a feel of history and a nice view and perspective of the areas around from the small windows and open area. Avoid on windy days, it gets Multifold and intense there. Tickets can be bought online using the scan code /web or at counter in the level-1 after first ascend .

A historical point which is still important in life. A lighthouse to guide you for special moments in life. From this place you can easily see the other island Vlieland and the main land. The water comes in and out this area. It is a nice walk to visit this lighthouse and the beach. A great nature which is nearby the Slufter so visit them both but keep it clean!

Beautiful light house located at the far end of the texel island. You need to buy a ticket to enter. Better do it online before coming as there are some limitations of accesses per a time slot with covid regulations. From top of the light house you can see long distance. The views are amazing. Inside the light house you can see the bullet holes made during world War 2.

Beautiful lighthouse on the east side of Texel. It is possible to climb and enjoy the view from 42 meters high. You can see Vlieland from here as well.

The lighthouse is located in the north of the island of Texel, part of the Wadden Islands in the northern part of the Netherlands. Access is via a path that winds through the sand dunes. The current lighthouse was rebuilt in 1948 incorporating the one originally built in 1864 and is functional. Once you reach the sixth level, access is made to the outside where you have a 360 degree view of the entire island. It is one of the main destinations in the island of Texel, I recommend it.

It is a wonderful experience to visit the Light House Texel. An amazing feeling of connecting to nature and history. The landscape views are spectacular, in national park Duinen van Texel

Worth it! Very we converted into a bit of a visitor center museum, glad we did it! Had no idea of the history of the area and the building, especially with WWII. Views are great! Stairs are steep but not strenuous. Prepare for wind!

a lot of people (early August) but it was a very beautiful place, going up the light house for a small fee was quite cool :) you could see all the way to the next island. very cool spot. you cant swim though because the sea was quite rough. When there is high wind be prepared to get hit with a bit of sand ':)

Fairy tale live! Beautiful spot with great views. The wind is VERY strong, be sure to wear glasses due to the sand in the air.

Very good service. The ticket to go to Texel costs just 2,50e round trip, for pedestrians. On the boat, you can have some food, but pay attention that the trip is very short, don't relax too much 😂

The ferry was clean and comfortable, with plenty of seating and vehicle spots. The trip was hassle-free and went smoothly without any delays or complications. The onboard cafeteria was well-maintained and reasonably priced, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Convenient fast transfer. I was with a bike, there was no queue. I bought the ticket in advance and just showed the QR code. it is very convenient that the ticket is without a date and immediately in two directions there and back. you can change plans, go later, or stay on the island for extra days and this will not be a problem. The price for a person with a bicycle is only 5 euros. Without a bike 2.5 euros. But it's better to take bicycles on the mainland, it's cheaper. Large comfortable ferry, plenty of space to park bikes. You can climb to a beautiful platform, sit down and look at the beautiful view. free wi-fi works. Passengers are loaded from one side and boarded from the other, so there is no crowding and everything happens quickly and conveniently. I like it. Took a bunch of photos and videos. There was a feeling that I was not going on a ferry, but on a cruise ship. The island has a waiting room that has Wi-Fi and sockets so you can charge your phone. The ferry runs every hour from 6:00 to 21:00. I recommend.

In short: efficient and hassle-free. As close as “normal” public transport as you can imagine, particularly when compared to other ferries we’ve taken where they over do it with order of arrival, complex timetables, sections, etc. Here they’ve managed to keep it simple, so even if it’s your first time using it you won’t have much issues figuring out your way around. Price-wise it is also competitive

We took the ferry with our car to Texel on the TESO ferry. Booked the night before, instructions were very explicit as to what was required and how to board. Very detailed and left nothing to chance. We arrived at the port, barriers opened, directed to a queue and then boarded. Simple as that. Automatic number plate software knew we had already paid etc and we didn’t need to do anything to get on board. Cafe on board makes a lovely coffee although, a very small criticism is that they don’t do any plant based alternative to cows milk. Crossing was smooth, great viewing deck and then we were told to get back to our cars by the PA system and we were ushered off the ferry in the same order as we arrived. It was just as smooth on the return journey, could not fault the service, friendly staff or the journey. The island is also very beautiful, but TESO have nothing to do with that.

Very well organized ferry, very clean even the toilet i was surprised how clean it was. The trip is very short just the time to get a nice coffee and a snack.

Very nice, functionable villas with good size bedrooms. Staff are super friendly and are happy to offer advice on what to do during your stay in Texel. Quite expensive considering we didn't rent one of the luxury villas.

Bungalows are spacious and well equipped. The equipment in both kitchen and living room (TV etc.) is very good and useful. Staff is clear and helpful. Landal Beach Park is well designed and has a nice admosphere. The nearby village De Koog is close to dunes, beach and sea as well as various sites (Ecomare). De Koog is very touristic and sometime overcrowded. Good alternatives are Oosterend and Den Burg.

Nice accommodations run by very nice people. A fun place to stay with shops nearby (food, bicycle rental,...)

It is a MUST place. I loved it, eventhoug maritime is not my field but I could spend an hour here looking around. You can go inside a life-boat rescue capsule or a boat. Many rubbish found on the shore which was collected and brought into the museum includes a love box which was opened and put out to the viewers. If you have a kid, you can even spend more time, as a playground is there for them, while adults can enjoy the coffeeshop. There is a room with a movie, which is only in Dutch so I could not understand but English was used in descriptions.

This museum is all about telling the story of the beachcombers of Texel. There are loads of things to see and read for all ages. The story touches on all aspects of beachcombing including legal and environmental issues as wel as the sheer joy of finding unique treasures on the beach. I spent a couple of hours here, but felt like there were still more stories to discover in between all the junk.

I just loved this place! It’s amazing how they organized the pieces! You will find a lot of different interesting stuffs. We had to much fun there!

Great place for family visit. Very cozy inside. There is a funny quest for kids to keep them busy.

The dunes are great for the kids running up and down them, playing in the sand. The beach was MASSIVE! The sea goes out so far that there is an abundance of space so no crowding issue. The car park is far away, which means that if you’re driving around the island you have a 25-30 minute walk through sand to get to the actual beach part. This is offset by the surrounding being very beautiful, loads of wildlife to look at and scenery to stare at. The wind was pretty high almost the entire time we were on the island, which is to be expected on that side of the island as it’s all open to the North Sea from there. There were several people flying big kites too, so if that’s your thing it’s a great place for that.

Amazing location! Take your time here. Go for a long hike and explore the back land and the beach. The views are amazing. Just bring proper gear as it can be really windy and there are some thorny bushes along the way. But this is the place to go when on Texel. There is a camping area right at the back of the dunes. This is the best place to stay!

Very beautiful place to stay closer to nature. There are walking paths through the dunes and those will take you to different landscapes. The wind here can be so strong and as a result it will be so cold. You don't see big trees here although it is a national park, mostly small bushes and sand dunes. But the views are amazing. Ideal for an evening walk.

Nature. quiet calm place. you ride on the plates on a bicycle and there are few people. Pheasants are screaming and rabbits are running around. Ideal for cycling. In some places you can go down to the sea.

The nationals park duinen van Texel is an amazing place to enjoy the nature and explore the outsides. You can rent a bike or simply walk; there are a lot of bike pads around, if you wasn’t to walk along the dunes, you park the bike and go. Specially recommended for families.

One Word WOW! I had never heard of this area before until a local took me there. I swear we walked down this beach for hours without seeing anyone. It was almost aerie how big it was and how few people we saw. You could look in three directions and only see sand and beach. I highly recommend this beach to anyone in the area. Simply amazing.

A wonderful experience for those who want to enjoy nature. Yes its a flat island, but its a 1:30hs ride to the north of Texel and the same to come back. So think it wisely if you want to see the light house in the north. There also buses which stop in the turisty places. Is a good choice for those who dont enjoy bike riding that much... And want to preserve their butt chicks. During mating season, same parts can only be accessed with a tour guide.
