Wroth visiting for the wonderful piece of art! Love the story behind it and what she represents. I highly recommend visiting if you are into looking at art installations!

This is a piece of public opinion dividing art!..stunning large sculpture of Verity in the harbour looking out to sea. Thought provoking and debate making work by Damien Hurst. I can imagine how much this could have caused some concern when erected by the local people as some would feel the sculpture rather graphic. Personally I really enjoyed seeing her set against the sea with a church on the cliff top to the left of the harbour bringing further reason for conversation. Parking in the harbour area and several other tourist information signs for other parking with views of the sculpture. Outside attraction so except for the parking charge free to view. Disability access throughout and public toilets in the harbour car park with disabled access.

Just beautiful, especially when you realise what this sculpture represents. I love Verity and have visited her everytime I've come to Ilfracombe.

What an amazing statue. Standing so tall and strong. It's beautiful and gross at the same time but when you really look at it it's amazing.

The stature looks awesome! It's cool to see the baby inside her belly. I like that she symbolises truth and justice cause it fits. The scale in her hand shows justice and the torn skin the truth (cause you can see everything (literally!)) Also the cliffs there are stunning and you can make a historic tour on a lifeboat! And a parking area is there too.

Very impressive sculpture but a bit weird. When stood below, the size of the sculpture is insanely beautiful. Stretching up into the sky above you. However its a bit weird in terma of subject matter and shows the inside of a pregnant woman. I know its art but I think its a bit weird. However from this point the views of the harbour are stunning and not to be missed.

Beautiful sculpture. If you walk around the bay and pick the coastal walk heading towards Hele Bay you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the harbour and Verity herself.

A beautiful statue one of the best I've seen in the world. And a great place for it with the sea in the background I imagine it looks even better in stormy weather

We visited 'Verity' on a holiday in North Devon. It is a somewhat controversial statue liked by some people, disliked by others and thought about by others. It is a pregnant woman standing on a pile of legal tomes holding the scales of justice by her side and a sword aloft. It is constructed using stainless steel and bronze with a polymer strengthened glass fibre sword. To many people seeing the statue from one side is too much, you can see a foetus inside the body as the skin has not been included. Damien Hirst, the sculptor describes it as an allegory of truth and justice. It made me think, and that is a good thing, in my view statues should be more that a pretty object.

Visited Ilfracombe yesterday and came across the sculpture of Verity, quite a thought provoking statue, I had to look at it from all angles, such an amazing piece of work ❤️ I can't wait to look up the background into the statue, thank you Damian Hirst for such an amazing piece of art

Well worth a visit verity is wonderful. Make sure to view it from all sides.

Great out of the way beach. We only saw the ladies beach, as the men's beach was closed for a wedding. With half the attraction closed to the public for a private function, the entry fee should be reduced to compensate, or at least inform customers when they pay. Rock pools and waves crashing on the rocks, made a nice day on the beach.

Well maintained. Toilets that double for changing rooms, which is fine. No shower. But none of that is why you're here. You're here for the tidal pool, and it is ace. Brave the temperature and you'll be rewarded with a bracing swim, great view back up the cliffs and out to sea. The pool really is best 3.5 hours after high tide. A bit of history and whimsy.

This is a wedding photographers dream venue! I love the uniqueness of its setting and how the spaces inside and out provide the perfect backdrop to the ocean. Outside ceremonies are superb! Great team who make sure everything is on point for the day's celebration and couples can arrange to have their preparations in Bath House or the Courtyard apartments. With access to the beach when the tide is out it gets even better in the evening when it is closed to the general public and you have the place all to yourself in the evening, meaning if you do get lucky with the weather it's one of the best golden hour and sunset spots around! Super atmosphere for a party into the evening as well. Can't wait to go back! Here's a few frames from a Springtime wedding.

Had a wedding here- amazing food and venue. Thought it was great! Stayed 3 nights in the bath house. The bath house accomdation rooms- we were lucky to have a room with two windows which open to let air in. Many of the other rooms either had no windows or windows opening into the main dining area which was hot. I think I would have had a few sleepless nights being warm if I was in one of those rooms. The rooms- the noise does travel from the floors to the rooms. The house itself has been decorated beautifully. Good a TV in the room/ shower was great. Also, perhaps a baby gate for the stairs to hand in the dining room and bath mats. Lastly, there was no information on recycling. I don't know if North Devon council compost food/what you csn recycle at kerbside but giving the large house and volume of waste it would be good to be able to recycle as much as possible! Location is great and parking to hand.

Been to the tunnels beaches a few times and it never disappoints. The water is lovely and there are places to explore around the rocks. Even when it's busy we have always managed to find somewhere nice to sit and relax.

Tunnels Beach is an absolute must-visit on a lovely sunny day! The beach is stunning, and the tunnels add a unique and interesting element to the experience. The water is crystal clear, with pebbly beaches with sun loungers on hand on use. It's the perfect spot for a relaxing day at the beach or to explore the rock pools.

Would highly recommend a visit to here … very nice beach and relaxed atmosphere, tickets are about £3-4 per person to enter and this allows you to re-enter all day. There is a small shop there that sells drinks & food halfway through the tunnels and they also rent beach chairs for £2 for a whole day. In general the beach was clean, it was not overcrowded and had a great feel to it. Unfortunately they do not allow dogs onto the beach though so if you have dogs don’t go here!

We got married at Tunnels ten years ago and couldn't fault them. We have visited three times since, including a visit for our anniversary yesterday. It's a really lovely site and well priced. The tunnels are interesting and the kids enjoyed playing around the rock pools and beaches. We will definitely return.

The jewel in the crown of Ilfracombe. Beautiful hidden beaches with take away refreshments and toilet facilities. A wonderful, safe tidal pool too. Perfect wedding location.

This hidden gem built in the 1820’s .. is a series of three tunnels that lead to an 8’ ft sea swimming pool. A £3 entrance fee gets you in for the day. It closes at 6PM so go early and spend the day. A beautiful natural pool looks amazing surrounded by the cliffs

loved it. I'm definitely going to visit again. Cafe staff lovely, cups of tea & pasty very good. Only be lush if they could dumped 100 ton of golden sand on the beach , as I hate shingle & stones 🤣😁

Historic, fairly quiet family and beautiful beach in Devon. There is small amount which £3 need to pay to enter into this beach. Cafe, toilets, gift shop and changing rooms are available. Four tunnels add a unique and interesting element to the experience. It's 200 years old beach. There are pay and display car parks available near to tunnel. Remember it close at 6PM. This is an absolute must visit beach. Highly recommend

Was taken by surprise by this - wasn’t expecting the spectacular views. Cost £12.50 for us (family of 4) to enter. One of the beaches was closed due to a wedding, however we did enjoy what we did see - it is obviously a popular spot but it wasn’t too overcrowded. Would recommend beach shoes for children if you do visit as beach is rocky as is the water if they paddle.

The Tunnels. Wow. What a venue! I can’t say that we have been to any other wedding venue with your own private beach! The location alone is enough to make you interested in The Tunnels but when you get to look around the venue it’s all beautiful. The ceremony space outdoors is great, amazing views to the side and backed with cliffs made it a great space for photography. We love the multiple levels at this venue. It really allows you to enjoy the views. The reception room for meals and the evening entertainment has huge panoramic windows which, when you have a location like this, is exactly what you want. The sunset on the evening we were there was gorgeous. Being able to watch it from such a great view while chatting around a fire pit has to be one of the top ways to end your wedding day right?! We are both huge fans of Devon and love being by the coast. If this sounds like you then you should definitely look at The Tunnels for your venue. The location, venue and staff are all amazing. You won’t be disappointed.

Didn't know what to expect. But wow, to see all the history and even walk through the history makes you feel like you've gone back in time nearly 200 years. To see the pond slowly reveal itself is amazing. So much to read regarding events and disasters. The old water pump is only just about still standing. It's a great place to go. Buy one of their books about the place too, less than £3 and worth every penny... go you will enjoy it.. Worth the £3.50 to get in.. and the ticket lasts the day so you can go and come back as many times as you like on the day you've paid for...

This view is gorgeous , the water is so clear and blue. The staff when going in were very informative and give loads of information about the history. The water was lovely and clear

This was a short but lovely visit, the tide was on its way out, the sea was blue and the bathing pool could be clearly seen.

Absolutely beautiful! When the tide went out the rocks appeared....Great for paddle boarding, snorkeling and swimming. Just be mindful of the rocks if the tide is in. It was fairly quiet on the beach but parking can be somewhat of a nightmare but you will eventually find a space. There is lots to do if you've had enough of the beach. You have the tunnels, arcades, rides etc. Great place to visit 😊👍

This was one of the best decisions we have ever made, of course after deciding to get married! Tunnels Beaches itself as a venue is breath-taking. In the wind and rain, as well as the sunshine (all of which we had within an hour!), the views are incredible, the beach is stunning, and the venue itself is comfortable and quaint, with all the modern comforts. The staff are incredibly accommodating, with special thanks to Anita, Jax, and Naomi, all of whom took the time to listen to our various requests and accommodate everything above and beyond. They were enthusiastic and lovely, and really helped to make our day special, especially accommodating our wish to have the ceremony outside, even when it looked like it would pour with rain! The food was delicious, and we can wholeheartedly recommend everything we had, ESPECIALLY the freshly barbecued jerk chicken. There is enough variety for everyone, from older folks with more specific tastes to those who will eat anything and everything, and it was difficult to convince ourselves to leave room for cake! We also had the pleasure of staying in two of the accommodations - Runnymede and Woodlands. These were two very different but incredible buildings, with Runnymede (recently renovated) offering a traditional, wooden feel, although equipped with modern and impressive bathrooms and kitchen, and Woodlands providing a similar, but more sleek and modern design. The rooms themselves are spacious and the beds comfortable, with both kitchens being comprehensive and easy to use. I can safely say that the higher price is very much justified, and I certainly would say that, if the price is the only thing holding you back, you should absolutely book Tunnels while you can!

Order tickets in advance (online) for a discount, even on the morning of the same day qualifies. Lots of parking on site, but steep walks to and from the car park. There are also lots of steps throughout the park, which are wide enough to get a pram up and down, but there are no routes around them, or slopes/non-steps routes that don’t skip huge areas of the park. The park is setup as 2x trials through the woods with animal enclosures and plastic dinosaurs (some animated/mechanised). None of it is too scary however, with our 1.5yr old being perfectly happy all the way through. There is also a soft play area at the start of the park (access included in the ticket price)

Visited when I was younger year after year, 20 years later went with my girlfriend and recreated some old photos 😅. Quality day out, cafes, all sorts of animals you could think of, museum, Tombs everything. It's like many parks all In one, ever in Combe Martin this is a must visit for the family, couples, everyone.

Loved it here we went with our nearly 2 year old and she loved the train and soft play as well as all the animals. Only down side is the amount of hills and disabled/buggy access restricting you from seeing some areas.

Wow! Really enjoyed it here. Staff were super friendly, all animals were amazing. Lots of great talks that happen daily I think! Very knowledgable staff. Meerkats and sea lion talks are a must! You can get cheaper tickets if you purchase online. Great picnic area. Dinosaur area for kids, and adults that are interested! There was also an east egg hunt when we went that was great fun. Only negative is that it’s a very vertical site. Wheelchair users, prams and the elderly may struggle.

Great day out for all the family, dinosaurs and wild animals everywhere.... watch out for the cheeky parrots in the trees. All the animals are well looked after and it shows as they are lively and out to greet you. The wolves are very lively and watch you as you walk past the enclosures. The primates area was the most entertaining with the lemurs jumping everywhere. We loved the meerkat also watching them going along there daily business. Food was very good. I recommend the bacon brie and cranberry baguette. Almost forgot about the sea lions, they were amazing and we timed it just right with feeding time.

When reading reviews and seeing people say how steep and hilly it was, I didn’t actually think it would be that bad! However, pushing a pram was rather challenging. I would also avoid if pregnant as it is hard work! I would also think again about taking kids who are not fans of walking as this would be challenging. Some of the paths in the dinosaur area / Japanese garden are not wheelchair or pushchair friendly. Steps appear out of no where and no alternative route but to turn back. The car parks are so steep there’s even signs saying please apply handbrake ect! The park itself was good value for money! The sea lion show was funny! Some parts of the park need a lot of TLC. Especially the Japanese gardens, there was hardly any water flowing down the steam. You could tell it needed a lot of work but has such great potential to be beautiful. The park itself is a little hard to navigate, the maps are not accurate and they are located on little signs on the walls. There’s not much clear signage as to what part you are going. The train ride however was the biggest waste of £1 each i have ever paid. Kids on the train even passed comments on how pointless it was! Food was lovely and had great variety. The kids meals were great value. Soft play was also a bonus that they have there! However entrance to the park was shocking, there’s no ticket or anything you have or band / stamp to say you’ve paid. You can walk into the park through the disabled car park and there’s NO form of security / ticket office what so ever! I could have literally walked in today and not got caught or questioned by anyone!! Overall, a good day but I don’t think I would return again! Especially because of those hills!

Lovely place. not overly busy and in a beautiful valley setting, our son loved it. The animals are beautiful and hearing the wolf howls echo around the valley was amazing. As its in a valley there are steep paths, so differently abled people may find the going a little slow. The only real negative was the train raid, it was over in less than 5 mins and our son was upset. We thought perhaps it took us around some of the animals but its literally a quick forward and back ride to a small waterfall. Other than that it was a great day day trip on our short holiday.

Mixed feelings about this wildlife centre, while there were many animals here which were under preservation, I do think some of the enclosures could be bigger - especially for the lions and the wolves. I understand this would mean a higher budget than the centre could afford but it seems a bit unethical to keep animals known for being in huge plains stuck in relatively small area. Apart from this, I think keeping some of these animals from extinction to be an actively good cause and I liked how the wildlife centre put up notices about climate change, litter, and respecting the animals. I guess zoo’s and wildlife centres have become a moral grey area! I just want the best conditions for these animals but I’m sure the workers there want that too. Lastly, here are some pictures of all the amazing animals I met :)

Another fantastic day out although very sad that both lions have died since our last visit but they now have lots and lots of Wolves, lovely day out, great indoor soft play, car park and entrance is very very steep so keep that in mind, parts of the park are also steep so if you are taking people in wheelchairs you might want to avoid or make sure the wheel chair is powered, also elderly people or people will l with health conditions might struggle with parts of the site. Totally worth a visit though, for kids and adults of all ages. Buy tickets online before your visit to save money.

Nice afternoon out. I thought it'd just be for the kiddies, but very interesting about how our planet was all those millions of years ago. Some nice animals to see as well, including 2 full grown lions, & also a sea lion show. I thought it was well worth the £16 entry fee. Only negative is it's not for those who aren't very mobile on the old legs, it's very hilly.

Our son loved it, it's the perfect combination of zoo and dinosaur park making it ideal for an enthusiast of both. Easy to find and lots to look at, it's a great day out. Make sure to find time to watch the sea lion show and listen to some of the talks.

Amazing place that really cares about its animals. Supports many projects that benefit animals worldwide, is set in beautiful landscape, has a great selection of animals to see, and the staff are always really helpful and genuinely love their job. All of this at an excellent price! Can't recommend it highly enough. Some steep terrain around the park, so be prepared for some walking!

Absolute Joy to visit here once again , was just my wife and I this time so we could go slowly and enjoy the parks offerings , some of the dinosaurs are looking a little dated and in need of a little repair but it didn't ruin our trip , absolutely loved the Howling Grey Wolves too !

It's a nice day out, but it's looking so run down and tatty. It's a shame to see it like this as I remember as a child it being so much better. Animals look comfortable and looked after.

Good selection of animals, with decent sized enclosures. Sea Lion show is a must, Morgan is a legend ! Enjoyed the dinosaur theme too and the Egyptian tomb. Very steep coming down from the carpark, so probably best to drop off anyone with mobility issues at the bottom. Really good day with the family, would definitely recommend.

Visited here in the summer. Had a pushchair with me which was doable but it is extremely hilly and a few sneaky steps too. Spent around 4 hours here with my little boy. Steep climb back up to the carpark. But 100% worth it Great to watch some of the Animal talks and chat to some of the keepers

We really enjoyed our afternoon in the wildlife and dinosaur park. The children loved the jungle Dino section and the sea-lion presentation. Lots to see throughout the park. They had fun in the indoor play area whilst the grown ups enjoyed a coffee.

Friendly welcoming staff and a zoo with a look of quirks. Staff are knowledgeable and genuinely interested in questions. Gift shop is reasonably priced and the animals all look well looked after. Be wary it is incredibly hilly and a hard walk

White a small park with not a lot to do so don't take all day. One of the best thing here in my opinion is the sea lion show which I would recommend. On the other hand the small train was a £1 pp on top of the entry fee. Oval My family enjoyed our time here but will not be returning.

Victorian Castle surrounded by idyllic grounds and visuals of the coastline. In the grounds is a small theme park ideal for kids aged 2 years to 10 years old. Accessibility is difficult for prams and young ones as has steep inclines and declines on pathways. All in all, lots to do and fun for all the family, well worth a visit and was more fun than I expected.

A great family theme park with lots of history, amusements, and rides. Quite hilly at parts, but manageable, so be warey if you have motility issues. Very friendly staff. The only issue was that a few of the amusements games were faulty or had issues. Went during Halloween time in mid-October. It was VERY quiet and basically had the park to ourselves, which was perfect for a disabled autistic family member. Would recommend 👌.

Set in the most beautiful location in Devon. View of Watermouth harbour and the hills of Combmartin called Little and big hangman hill. Watermouth castles is majestic. 1890's family run business. Amazing fulfilled day out. So much to do. Not enough photos taken to do it justice. The castle is beautiful and filled with old fashioned ways of life. And old fortune telling machines, train sets, moving puppets, slots machines 2p 10p games. The dungeons of the castle with crazy mirrors, old bike displays. So many restored displays. We paid to have our photos taken at the cafe so we can return for £5 each during this season. We took our own picnic, but the cafe do great food and icecreams and creamteas. We walked along the woodland paths to the Gnome village, kids panned for gold and loved all the pushbutton displays. We loved the lazy river ride, the toboggan ride, teacups and water balloon fun area. The maze and gardens. Lots more rides and play parks for little people. Every corner has something of interest or something to do and explore. You'll want to come back.

Nice place to take children. Plenty of things to do. Took some food with us. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I feel like it needed a few more rides/ or a indoor soft play area.

We absolutely loved it. We went for the castle and did not realise that they have a theme park there too. It is for small children, but we actually really liked it as well. Lots to see and to do. They are doing a water show, they have a cool dungeon, lots of small games to play, lots of flowers to enjoy. £18/full day or £12 after 1:30pm.

We had an amazing time at this hidden gem, we went during off peak times which I’d advise as it can get very busy. The attractions are fantastic they are well looked after and very impressive, it’s fun for all ages it did seem the adults were having more fun as A lot of the attractions are from our childhood. We will definitely be going back

Great experience if you have small children. The castle itself has an interesting tour around the inside. Bring change! We don't carry much cash these days so was upset that we didn't have any 2p or 10p coins to spend on the abundance of classic arcade machines which looked really fun. Once the castle tour is done you get to walk round to the gardens that are filled with more interesting attractions to see and interact with. There are also many kids rides, slides and play parks. Some of the attractions are a little dated and worn but is part of the magic as the park seems to specialise in classic entertainment devices. A couple of food venues providing snacks/food/drink/ice cream. Plenty of toilets. Overall a great experience that will fill a day.

We visited yesterday with our 3 year old who has additional needs and immediately knew upon arrival we were going to have a great day just by how we were greeted!!.. We came at 1.30pm in the hope it would be a little quieter for our daughter and timed it perfectly as although there were many other people there it felt like we had the place to ourselves at times.. We absolutely loved the coin machines in the castle and it was so lovely that our daughter could interact with all of them (and with them costing 2p or 10p she could use them as much as she liked) We could have spent all day inside the castle and even braved the dungeons and loved every single minute!! We totally forgot there was an outside and wow just wow.. all the interactive displays in the Gnome village and the absolutely stunning grounds.. I honestly can't describe just how beautiful it is here and so well kept! Every single staff member we encountered along the (very steep) way were just wonderful and couldn't be more helpful or polite!! Our daughter with help and encouragement went on all the rides with us knowing they would be stopped if she was scared and the confidence she came away with was just beautiful to see! The morning rain had closed the toboggan ride but the staff worked really hard to dry it all and get it open later in the afternoon so we didn't miss out 😊 I just cannot rate you all highly enough and this by far was one of the best days out I have had this year. Thank you all 🖤

Absolutely brilliant!!!!! There is something for everyone, I would highly recommend! Loved the rooms in the castle and the little people walk through. Will definately be visiting again, we spent over 5 hours here (just me and my partner) and could have stayed longer. The food in the cafe was lovely, we had a cheeseburger and chips and it was delicious and not overpriced like some places. Would also highly recommend you watch the water show, beautiful to watch!

Very hilly place so if you have prams be warned. The castle itself is beautiful and also the gardens,but the attractions are not worth the price. Should be more like £10 or so that would be a fair price. You can only spend a limited time before you get bored 3hours maybe 4 tops. Not suitable for kids over 7 or 8 as they would be bored faster.

Great for kids. It’s better to come here with some cash. There are loads of interesting machines needed 20p or 2p to run in the castle. The big outdoor adventure park is very impressive. There are many rides you can go for free. Definitely worth coming.

Awesome family day for small children. The gnome village is interesting and Victorian style rides. Recommend to buy toboggan tickets online before you go.

Excellent place for children of all ages. The rides were very good some only for 5yrs but lots for older or younger. My granddaughter loved it. Great family day day out. Restaurant severed lots of things to eat and was nice and clean. If you want a good day out I would recommend.

Had a great afternoon. Staff were friendly, arcade games were great and cheap to play. The water show was fun to watch! There are lots of things to see and do. I would recommend a whole day though.

Had a wonderful day. We had my 2 daughters and our grand children with us. I'm classed as disabled, some of the steep pathways were a no no for me. But definitely go again, it's a stunning place to go and admire.

Fun day out for all the family we really enjoyed it and spent a few hours there. Some off the rides was close because of the rain 🌧️. They are some very steep hills to walk up. The toboggan is up a very steep hill it would be a good idea to put a sign up at the bottom if not running save people walking up. Golf was good and the maze . They had loads off 2p machines from back in the day so take some 2p and 10p with you .

Currently on a little break with my daughter and partner in Westward Ho! And this was recommended by the owner of the holiday home we’re staying in as per a little book of recommendations she left us. Just to say thank you for such a lovely day - this is great value for money and our 7 year old daughter absolutely loved it, she definitely made some great memories. The staff here are super friendly and made our daughter who is usually quite shy feel very welcomed and excited. Would highly recommend to friends and family visiting Devon :)

Absolutely love coming to this place, usually only for Rolys fudge but such a beautiful little harbour/town This time visiting we took the scenic walk along the top, this didn't fail to please. We also took a look at St Nicholas church on top of the hill right next to Verity who looked as stunning as ever. A little disappointed that all the shops seemed to be shutting up shop before 4 o'clock I guess it's seasonal but this is half term week. Look forward to visiting again next year!

Revisiting lovely Ilfracombe for the first time in a while. Quite a while in fact as Verity Statue was being built on last visit I think!?! Lovely scenic harbour with tiny Chapel lighthouse on hill. Lots of shops galleries eateries and ice creams around harbour.

So pretty. Parking was cheep. There was lovely shops and food places. We spent time watching the rnli doing a practice which was very cool. Verity a Damien Hurst statue stands proudly looking over the harbour.

Verity and the ice cream shop are great and it's also very pretty from high points. While we were there two groups of locals went past effing and jeffing and the chips were awful.

Illfracombe is just Lovely. Parking at the harbour, was an idyllic setting for our short visit. Lovely harbour nice little place to walk around with lots of little shops and quirky places. We went up capstone hill for some amazing views.. fabulous, but not an easy climb especially, for people like me who require a hip and knee replacement. Remember parking is free after 1800 so don't get caught for 4 1/2 hrs charge from 1600 as I did...should have gone to spec savers!😊 Highly recommended

Great for a day out, there is a new £3m water sports centre being built, this is due for completion, summer 2022. Ilfracombe has the usual seaside shops & numerous fish & chip & pasty shops & takeaways & great pubs, a harbour side fresh fish shop, caught & sold locally. Oh & verity is stood on the sea wall.

Lovely Harbour with Verity looking out at sea. Dotted with places to eat, art galleries, pubs, and restaurants. You can also get to Lundy Island from here.

Really pretty harbour hosting the Damien Horst statue. Views are stunning and there is plenty to do around the harbour with an aquarium, chapel you can visit and a working RNLI station. Although we didn’t use it the parking seemed to be popular for the town. Plenty of shops and facilities nearby as you’d expect, as well as various boat tours.

Lovely place to have a walk round and walk up to the different view points. nice harbour, a variety of shops n lots of places to eat . Lots of different car parks. Just one set of toilets open at the moment down by the pier.

Great selection of freshwater and sea fish. From the valleys to the sea there's something to interest everyone including young children and adults. Lots of factual information to absorb. Crabs, lobsters, rays, starfish and other creatures from the shallow and deep. There are offers for family tickets and froendly staff available inside for questions and knowledge exchange. Definately worth a visit as a part of a bigger tour of the ilfracomve area maybe encompasing the museum. We stopped at number 11 for a coffee but there's a nice sheltered cafe here at the aquarium. The aquarium is located at the pier so lots of interesting shops to pass on the way maybe for some chips, I've cream or fudge. This site is not far from the ever imposing verity statue and some of the sea safari tours. So plenty to do straight after your visit.

Wow soo beautiful. A must visit. Lots of little shops and cafes. Very picturesque. Lots of steep hills to give your calves a good workout. Take a coastal walk up elephant mountain (don't attempt if you struggle with steep inclines) its breathtaking at the top. Well worth it though.

Very pretty. Good car park right next to the harbour, land train for £5 from here every 15 minutes takes you for a ride around the area. Busy when I visited last week early June. Shops nearby.

Beautiful harbor with a stunning landscape. The shops and restaurants around the harbor provide plenty of good food and merchandise. Plenty to do while not being too tourist driven, this Ilfracombe is a must see! Parking is hard to find but check the top and bottom sections of the high street.

A small aquarium, themed on local aquatic life (starting from the river source and moving out to sea) featuring only those animals found in local waters. It will take around 20 minutes to walk around the aquarium (or maybe an hour at most if you have small children and are really taking your time). The staff are really friendly and informative - they also let us know before they did any feeding or activities with the animals so we could come and watch. There is no on site parking, but there are a selection of long stay car parks in the nearby area that you can use.

A fantastic aquarium focusing on local marine wildlife. It’s quite a small aquarium but the layout is fantastic, taking you on a journey of the local water environments and what creatures you’d expect to find there. My daughters (2yo + 4m) both really enjoyed it as we were given a step at the beginning which enabled my daughter to see the fish at a much better height (such a lovely touch!) Highly recommend ☺️

Brilliant little gem! It's a small aquarium but has a vast knowledge of local species, from starting up the estuary going out to the sea, and the staff are excellent with any questions etc. Quite a few fish are excellent at camouflage so keep your eyes peeled! Little ones can also join in with finding clues too! There's a gift shop just as you enter and also a little café too.

Lovely little Aquarium, sensible prices, really friendly and interested staff who take time with their customers and exhibits. Octopus (when she's not grumpy) will engage, as will cuttlefish. Go, it's worth the visit!

This place is small, but kinda mighty! Take the time to speak to the passionate team, read the displays and gaze into the tanks - (the more you look, the more you’ll see) and you’ll find a couple of hours simply disappear. Highly recommended!

I spent an afternoon in Ilfracombe Aquarium and it was just as brilliant as I remembered. Small but perfectly formed. It was fascinating to learn about the animals living just beyond the shore. Lawrence who works there was a font of information and only too happy to point out things I’d have never spied including ray babies! I thoroughly recommend. Incidentally I went without my kids and still had a ball!

We visited yesterday with our 3 year old and this was a really lovely end to our morning in Ilfracombe.. Perfect size for our daughter to be stay engaged and enjoy it as she can become distracted very easily. Very quiet weekday so didn't feel rushed and the staff were really lovely.. Lots of talks about the species of fish 🐟

Really liked it. So it is small, you could go through it all in about 10 minutes, but you can also read everything and watch all the fish and spend an hour there. Follows the journey of water from Exmoor down the rivers to the sea and all the various habitats and animals that like there. The big tank at the end being the sea, with some great fish and crabs. Staff are lovely and chatty, feeding the various fish on a fairly regular basis so you get to see them all in a natural habitat. Worth going to and spending some time there.

Free for under 3's. Free trail for children to find letters around the aquarium and you recieve a sticker at the end. It's not very big so don't expect to be there for long. Staff were friendly and the gentleman who gave a talk about the fish when he was feeding them was very informative. I don't think we would visit again if we had to pay full price for our daughter as it took us around an hour to go around. I would rather spend the money on going to a bigger place.

It's amazing how much knowledge and passion the guys here spoke with! And for it to be all local species of fish meant that we actually got to learn what was in the waters just a stones throw away. Excellent aquarium, will definitely be going back!

We loved the up Close and personal aspect of this small but so very interesting aquarium. We actually went through it and reversed back to catch some creatures we had missed . It’s great for young children as it’s small enough not to lose them but interesting enough to capture imagination. The chunks pasties in The cafe were best ever tasted!
