Small little station located near where Heartbeat was filmed. The station was also used in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. Trains run to Pickering and Whitby but not very often. The steam train doesn't run through this station because of fire risk. Small gift shop & a car park. £3.50 all day if you're using the train.

Goathland railway... beautiful quaint little station in stunning North Yorkshire surroundings. Well worth a visit, the village was the fictional village Aidensfield from the series Heartbreat. This is the perfect example of the great English countryside ❤️

Very quiet not a lot to do. Small little stop off on our way home to see where they recorded harry potter. They do have a steam train that runs through. Round yhe corner is aidensfield from heartbeat.

While staying in the area - we realized we were just up the road from Goathland Station - which is a Harry Potter filming location. We were too late to book a train ride - so we took a drive through the stunning countryside. The station is lovely and quaint and is instantly recognisable from the movies. A train arrived while we were there and the kids enjoyed watching it from the bridge. There is a tea Room on site. Entrance to the station is free.

I found the Goathland Railway Station to be good old traditional & picturesque station, very clean & well maintained .Once your here you can easily understand why this station location was apparently used in the 1st "Harry Potter film " I found the Station Platform Staff on duty dressed in their traditional uniform to be very pleasant & helpful..There's a small well stocked gift shop,I did make a few purchases which included gift cards ,2024 calendar & even a railway Xmas tree bauble ,cash or card payments are accepted Theres also a railway hanger style tea room where they provide a range of food & drinks with inside & outside available seating areas ,I did make a purchase of orange juice & shortbread biscuits ,again cash or card payments are accepted and since the weather was nice I sat on a platform bench to enjoy the experience. Toilets are available on the platform with the gents on the main station building side with access to the ladies by going over the railway bridge to the other platform side .I do recommend a visit if your visiting Goathland or do as I did & get off the steam train from Pickering ,spend an hour here then back on the train again to Whitby ...

Goathland Station famous for being the station In Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone. I remember going to the station when they were filming and we were stopped by security/film crew from going towards Goathland Station. The Station is part of the North Yorkshire Moor Railway. Here the North Yorkshire Moor railway steam trains stop from Whitby to Pickering. The station is very picturesque set on the North Yorkshire Moors. It has cafe, shop, ticket hall and toilets. Goathland Station also appears in the Heartbeat series.

If you are a Harry Potter fan, this small stop-off is for you. A great road and views leading into this village and train station. To gain access to the station, is a small deep road to get in and out, so be careful when leaving as its on a bad bend. Free to access and seems to be open to the platforms. I was there before 9am so the few shops were all closed. Can spend 5 mins here, or longer. There are walk trails up the hills if you are into that

Fantastic day out, we joined the train at the Beautiful 'Goathland' train station and made the 50 minute scenic journey to 'Pickering' on a steam locomotive, the train stations on this line are just beautiful, our history and heritage preserved. The tea rooms at Pickering and Goathland stations were excellent with a very good choice of food, cake and drinks.A stroll round Pickering and return to Goathland via a vintage diesel engine, brilliant

This trip is a full day (9.00am - 5.30pm) which was booked via Viator at £53 per person. This was a small group of 16 from across the globe. Driving through the Yorkshire moors stopping at a couple of lovely towns on route to Whitby and Mark our guide providing a fantastic commentary throughout the day with his knowledge of the AREA. At Whitby a must is Fish and Chips we headed to Trenchers were there can be a queue so would recommend lunch before sight seeing. In the afternoon we headed to the train station for our Steam train trip down the old Victoria line stopping at the station used in the first Harry Potter movie. Please note the train may not always be a steam and this can change at the last minute but does not take away from the trip itself. Final leg is a 80 min journey back to York.

A great day out on the historic railway, learn about the route, how it came about, and learn about various stops, too. Best stop for me, Goathland, aka heartbeat land. Beautiful place, village and lovely and peaceful. The station itself is very pretty, and the guard had many a story with reference to Harry Potter movie. Very interesting and a nostalgic trip.

Visited in winter with snow on the ground and it was like stepping back in time. Lovely place - steam train an added bonus. Cafe was closed, but looked very inviting.

Famous for its appearance in the first Harry potter film as well as it series Heartbeat, this quaint preservation station is a fantastic place to visit, as well as a great place to catch the steam train. With a really nice tea room, and a well furnished gift shop, it's a magical visit for fans if steam or magic. The current offer of a day ticket lasting 12 months is great value, but single station trips are a bit steep

Popped today to visit 'Hogsmead' Station aka Goathland Station, lovely little country Station, added bonus with the steam train passing through. Stopped off for a drink on the platform well priced for quality, shame the same cannot be said for the shop who is very overpriced for Harry Potter themed items.

Splendid and invigorating walking to be had on this beach. Popular and gets busy, especially with school trips, as there are so many rock pools once the tide retreats. Good walking, good rock pools, lots of dogs having fun. There is an ice cream van on the beach too, selling Beacon Farm Ice Cream. Highly recommend this ice cream, it's really creamy, rich and tasty and was £3.20 for 2 scoops. Eight flavours to choose from. Lots of wildlife if you look, even in these catastrophic days of decimating avian flu. There are cliffs and lots of hopeful fossil hunters beneath, hammering away on their quest for a dinosaur tooth. Can also recommend The Galley On the Quarterdeck - snack bar with benches and great beach views. Their sandwiches are fab and reasonably priced. Can't beat that bracing salty sea air to up your endorphins intake, aaaahhhh, purr.

What an amazing village. The scene driving in is amazing. Found a great parking place called the secret garden a £5 all day the couple who run it were lovely. The walk down to the village is down hill. There are lots of lovely shops and alley ways you can walk down. There's 2 museums there that i did not get to see. The beach is lovely there's lots of walks around the area plus camp sites and in the village holiday homes to rent. Will definitely be going back.was a great first visit.

14/4/2024-Sunday. My husband & I went to explore this Robin Hood Bay. I am very impressed by the historic view and tye geographical location of this village. Though the road to the Bay were very steep. However, the excitement of the historical event and story of the village. Soon overcome my challenge of going down the steep slopes and climbing back up again. On the whole experience. I think is worth the visit. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Picturesque seaside village, lovely beach, plenty of places to eat, public toilets and some nice shops. I'd make sure that you get there early because parking spaces are soon filled up (Two car parks one is considerably bigger than the other. Some steep slopes if you are out and about in a wheelchair.

Not for the frail! It's a small, unique, little beach town. A few shops, cafe's and pubs dotted around the closely gathered houses of long ago. We were quite happy going down to explore, but it's a bit of a drag getting back up! If you don't mind squeezing through people and you like small spaces then yes, this is something different!

Great place for walking. Sea, sand, fish and chips with a pint. Great place to clear the cob webs. Lots of rock pools for kids to seek out crabs. Steep hill for walking if you park your car and walk down to the beach. We walked across from Ravenscarr but unfortunately the coastal path is eroding.

A beautiful beach located in a pretty, bustling little village in the heart of Yorkshire. The views are stunning, the beach is glorious and the facilities are great. There are a wide range of local shops, restaurants, pubs and B&Bs which all looked fantastic. The only downside of this beach is you have to park at the top of the hill in the village and walk down, but it is most definitely with the short but steep walk. One of the nicest beaches I've ever visited.

Robins Hood Bay is beautiful! Very old village set at the bottom of a cliff side so an extremely steep walk down and also back up. But the views of the sea and beach is worth it. The houses and shops are so quaint and traditional to Yorkshire. Luckily we had lovely warm weather.

Lovely little village, with a steep hill that you go down towards the beach. Plenty of lovely little shops to grab clothes, gifts etc with some stunning streets for lovely pictures and few bars to grab a drink. We went on an overcast day so the beach didn’t look amazing but I’m sure on a lovely blue sky day, it would be beautiful.

Its a beautiful beach and location to visit during summer. It has stunning views if u climb all way to the top point. Explore the town by randomly going into the small roads which gives shows you beautiful cottages and gardens.

A wonderful coastal village on the Yorkshire coast. Good pubs, great bistro (Brambles) and fish and chips to die for. Stunning views and coastal walks to lessen the impact of the eateries and drinkeries.

Beautiful we place, though there's hardly any shops open due to us visiting out of season. Definitely worth the visit though. We have also been here in the Peak season and it did not disappointment. The views are out of this world!

Our favourite sea side experience. Not great if you want to build sand castles but great for rock pools and pebbles. There are no slot machines etc, for me, that makes it a great place to bring children. It's my sort of sea side. Always loved it. The only problem is that it's not wheel chair friendly and can't really be made so.

What an amazing little place, and barely a soul around on the day we visited, lovely steep winding streets down to an open bay with a beach, with quaint shops en route, will definitely revisit in warmer weather for a new perspective.

Unique former fisherman's village. Full of hidden walkways and past history. Visit when the tide is out. Be careful with tide times as it comes in very fast. Boggle hole worth a visit when tide is out. Parking is always difficult.

Stunning views off the north east coast of England! I highly recommend going if you are in the area Note that it's very hilly and steep from the car park at the top of the village. I strongly advise not going if you are in a wheelchair as there are steps down to get to the view point The hot chocolate was amazing as well

Great visit, lots to see - different period houses furnished as they typically would have looked for their time period, beautiful little gardens with some of them, old farm machinery & chickens & pigs with little 50p bags of food - the pigs are particularly entertaining! Lovely exhibition of wedding dresses from different periods accompanied by the stories behind them. We had a good couple of hours outside & came back in to see the lovely rag rug exhibition. Staff were really friendly & lots of good things in the shop. Well worth a visit! We also had a lovely lunch at the pub next door.

First visit for many years. Dog friendly inside and out, £10 gets you an annual pass. Fascinating place to visit in the heart of the Yorkshire Moors, dedicated staff and volunteers have created a great resource for the history of the area, buildings saved, and faithfully rebuilt on site, information, history, industrial heritage, learn how the normal person once lived. Plus great pubs/cafes next door. Ideal base for exploring the moors and coast

Such a lovely little place to spend an hour or 2. Smaller than we thought but very well organised and lovely little things to see and do. We visited in the May half term and there were plenty of talks on and activities for the kids. Plenty of animals to see too. Use the pub car park at the side for £3 all day and if you use the pub for food you can redeem your £3 which is great. Highly recommend for all ages.

Well worth the visit as a stop off before heading into the Moors. Full of interesting rooms and houses to step back in time in and see without the stuffiness that some museums can have. Something for everyone of all ages here

Situated in the village of Hutton le Hole, the museum feels like an extension of the picturesque and serene village. The museum is like a Beamish museum on a modest scale. It is a journey through time with thatched roofs, shops, stocks, a witches hut, and the highlight for me, an Iron Age round house. This demonstrated that little changed until the invention of the combustion engine. Add to this, wonderful drives and walks over the Moors. I loved the next valley too. A special mention for the village of Rosedale Abbey.

We visited on a miserable day, well worth the visit. 6.5 acres to walk round, a variety of buildings to look into. It gives you an insight of how people used to live Good value for money, as your ticket is valid for a year.

It's a good few hours out. It can probably be a bit boring for young kids, but there's loads to see here. Everything is well kept and clean and the whole place is spotlessly clean too. The staff are friendly as well. I'd say 3 to 4 hours is plenty time to see everything here, I certainly wouldn't want to spend less than 3 hours or you'll miss quite a bit. Things are well spaced out too, so in these times of social distancing, there's plenty of space to move and still see things. The village it's in is also well worth a visit too! It's a staggeringly beautiful area and you'll find plenty of places to visit there as well, so it's easy to make a full day of the whole area. Well worth a visit, just one point that's worth making and that is there are no refreshments inside, so nowhere to sit for a tea or coffee, but that's just a small grumble. They welcome your own food and drink, so take a flask and you'll be set!

A really beautiful location and setting for this museum. Also,it's a bargain. Tickets are valid for a whole year after purchase. Lots and lots to see,houses and lifestyles from recent to ancient past. At least 3 hours to go around at a leisurely pace. Well worth more than one visit in my opinion,as it's difficult to absorb all that you see. Highly recommended. Parking next door at the pub is free if you eat there,otherwise it's a very reasonable £3. As well as the museum itself,Hutton le Hole is a very attractive place to just stroll around. PS look out for the Mouseman benches. They're beautifully crafted and aged.

Really surprised how good this place is it's worth a visit but give yourself about 4 hours to see it all but remember your ticket entitles you to return as many times as you like in the following year.

I've not been here since I was at primary school. It was just as good as I remembered it, even the witches hut. A great bit of history in an enjoyable setting. A great place to take kids. I really enjoyed the wedding dress exhibit too.

The tickets last a year.... Go as many times as they are open. Nice museum. Well tended. Pub nearby does food as do the cages.

Very good interesting place there are far too few museums like this dedicated to British rural culture. There is a fascinating amount of heritage and culture nestled in the hills and dales of Yorkshire and England and this museum does a better job than most of celebrating it. Would reccomend to all. Very interesting for adults and with the animals and play areas lots for kids to do as well.

A fascinating look into Yorkshire's past in this beautiful historic museum. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Definitely worth a visit. Incidentally, your entry is a year long pass and you can visit as many times as you like.

Loved it, quaint little place in a beautiful country setting. The most amazing views are surrounding this hotel. Room was huge had everything you need. The coffee machine wasn't emptied, but minor mishap. Tiny bar areas, lovely staff. The blonde man, and the young boy in the restaurant stood out with politeness:) and the lady on reception too. Enjoyable stay would definitely stay again Thank you xxx

Had a lovely stay at the Mallyan Spout on Monday night, it was my 70th birthday and they made it very special. Great room, evening meal good menu, and food was delicious, breakfast, cooked freshly to order. And its in lovely surroundings, although take mud proof boots if you are planning on walking to see the actual Mallyan Spout waterfall - it's worth the walk though.

Really lovely place. We popped by after walking to the spout itself. We are in the bar area. The staff were lovely, the food was delicious. The toilets were so clean and smelt amazing!! Would definitely revisit. They accommodated a group of 7 with a dog and children and it was great.

Just a lovely old fashioned place to chill and enjoy the local scenery/walks. Staff amazing...so friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and cozy. Food ain't bad either 😋

An exceedingly pleasant dining experience. We booked a pod outside, these contained all the comforts needed, a lovely mock log burning fire heater and fluffy warm blankets (though the blankets were not needed as we were all toasty). All of the staff were very attentive, never once did we need to leave our pod to grab anyone's attention. My 6 Yr old Granddaughter has a loose tooth that became painful upon taking a bite of pizza, the lovely waiter asked if we would like some ice to ease it which was very thoughtful and worked a treat. There were 3 different cows milk alternatives for my fresh coffee cafetiere, Oat, Soya and Coconut. Very impressed. Even an allergy to milk & Sunflower oil wasn't a problem, having changed mustard mash for smashed new pots with olive oil, instead. No vegan dessert, but I couldn't have fit one in even if they did and the main was so delicious, our evening so perfect that it didn't matter. The Mallyan Spout is large enough for wheelchair users, though there are a few small steps to the outside, not a problem if you use just a stick. All in all a wonderful meal with family. Thank You, we will be back.

Lovely place, stopped here on a motorbike ride with my wife, to see the falls. Good little work out getting down to the falls and back up again. Worked up a good hunger, and good thing the hotel was there. Had the burger, absolutely delicious, and well worth the money. Service was very friendly and didn't have to wait long for our food.

We didn't stay over so can't comment on rooms but decor in main bar was plush and very well done. We popped in for a bar meal, we sat outside to start with but got bit chilly, asked if we could move inside and they were very accommodating, finding us a table for 5. Food was delicious and staff were friendly. Will definitely call again.

Looks posh, nice and comfortable furnishings they've really made this hotel lovely and welcoming. Nice friendly staff and well kept bar, I liked the different feeling between sitting in the lounge areas and the bar. Positioned just near to Goathland village centre its in a lovely situation. I'll be back to stay overnight next time, will try the meals and enjoy the calm and relaxing atmosphere that they've created.

I absolutely love this place! Everyone is so friendly..staff and guests included. The food is delicious and the bedrooms are beautiful. I especially loved all the Christmas trees and decorations. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon...

Much more than a 3 star hotel. Warm, cosy, comfortable, amazing food and reasonable prices. Great service. So quiet for sleeping. Lovely views, even from the bathroom. Highly recommend room 10. Like being in a Scottish hotel without having to travel as far. Definitely recommend! And the walk to the waterfall must be done, but bring sturdy boots!

Really enjoyed our stay here, lovely location, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the service was absolutely top notch. The food was also fantastic, and the portion sizes are very generous. Thee is a very pleasant and large garden to sit in when the weather is kind.

Called in for lunch with my Mum, food was excellent (Thai green curry and salmon caesar salad), very fresh and tasty, large portions. Good menu selection of meals and snacks, coffee shop also on site. Sat outside in the garden, perfect spot for lunch

What a fabulous place to stay . We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate a friends 60th birthday and have to say the place is amazing . We were in two of the suites on the 3rd floor rooms 21 & 23 ours was so large it had a door bell but was perfect for the 4 of us to gave a pre dinner glass of fizz . The staff could not have been more attentive and the food was out of this world we ate in twice and could not find fault with anything. Will be back in the new year .

A traditional hotel with exceptionally friendly staff and guests. An attractive building with gorgeous views to the front and back. You can enjoy the food in the smart restaurant or as wholesome bar meals. The bar is good enough that locals and non residents use it as a pub. With decent ale on hand pump I would do the same if I lived in the village.

Called in today at short notice for Sunday Lunch which was absolutely delicious. We were a party of 4 adults, 1 teenager and 2 children. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming and must be complemented on their service. As stated the meals were superb and great value for money. We can highly recommend the Mallyan Spout if you're in need of a Sunday Lunch! We'll definitely call again when in the area.

What a cozy & quaint hotel. We sadly only had an opportunity to stay the one night, but it was wonderful. Huge beds, crispy clean bedsheets. Thoughtful extras. The breakfast was utterly delicious, it was a generous portion of quality food, cooked to perfection. 😋 There was absolutely nothing not to love here. The staff were friendly & helpful. Everywhere was clean. I'd happily go back again. 🫶

As a family we experienced the adventure and challenge courses (our son is 10 so could do the challenge course but our 7 year old could only do the adventure course) The experiences were both excellent and the staff were all fabulous - friendly, knowledgeable and brilliant with the children. Particular thanks go to Max who really engaged with and encouragesboth of our children. A wonderful afternoon for all!

This was brilliant. Starting with a very personable and helpful lady at the main desk, through to the training instructor who was pleasantly funny, and ending with the actual courses themselves: going with 2 kids in their teens, including one who doesn't usually enjoy this sort of thing, we all had a go and a great time was had by all. Extremely fun day out!

Great location for Go Ape, next to Dalby forest visitor centre. Booked early and kids had tree tops to themselves for an hour.

We visited for the Treetop Adventure on Sunday. My 7 year old daughter managed both challenges with no worries or fear. My 9 year old nephew was very apprehensive, wary and cautious. He managed the first challenge really well and completed the zip line. When he got to the top of the second challenge his nerves kicked in and got the better of him. One of the amazing staff members Max stepped straight in and went up to have a chat with him. Max was great and rather than talk my nephew down he managed to guide him through the challenge. His support and encouraging chats got him all the way round the challenge. My nephew is over the moon he managed to complete it and did the zip line twice too. Just want to give Max and the team on shift that day a huge shout out. Thank you all so much, you were great! We would highly recommend Go Ape Dalby. It was a fantastic day.

I personally loved it. After the first course, you get less hesitant. I would like try the different courses, in the other go ape locations as they all are different. I noticed on the other side that they do courses for children. Not sure which ages. The views are amazing. I noticed quite a lot of people riding bikes or hiking. There's also a playground area for children with swings etc. They also have an area where you can sit and eat. With a ice cream stall available and a cafe. I took a packed lunch as I heard the prices can be expensive. Toilets are located within the same area. I'd say give the website a read to make sure you wear appropriate clothing..I had taken a waterproof plastic lanyard that I put my phone in. But please do at your own risk. The payment for parking all day is £9.

Great fun and astonishing views! We visited last weekend (November 23) and we really enjoyed, the equipment, zip lines and the attachment points and facilities were well maintained and safe. A bit nervous as you will be in your own for most of the course but the briefing gives you all you need. Bring your own gloves and enjoy! Amazing views when sliding through the zip lines!!

Had a great time here although it was a lot busier than expected. There’s lots of options to do the harder stuff which is pretty cool. I think a lot of the course is designed for smaller people, even the higher ones as I had a bit of issues with crouching and zip lines being too fast (I’m 6ft 2” 90kg). But other than that it was really exciting and the staff were super attentive and really know their stuff with the added twist of humour. They also take safety seriously which in a place like this is important. Highly recommend for any event or occasion!

Wow. Great experience, really well organised and we all felt safe. But it was the staff that made it extra special! They were warm, welcoming, fun and seemed to really care. We did the smaller course which was still good for my 11 year old. Coming back next year to do the bigger course! 💪

Excellent Go Ape location at Dalby, with friendly staff, and stunning views over the forest trees, especially down the ziplines. I have been to a few Go Ape locations and this one certainly rates highly.

Henry's first go on tree top adventure (age 6) he loved it, staff was super helpful on the zip line, can’t wait to go back

Me and my wife absolutely loved the segways the instructor was very informative and easy to talk too and the views from the top of trail were great.

Fab experience here on Sunday 17th March. The gents running the course were fantastic, professional, friendly and put me at ease as a person who doesn't really like heights. The weather was horrendous (thanks forecasters!) But if I'm honest this added to the fun (and the fear!)

Great for a family day out very easy to locate and a great test for your body physically and mentally as well as having a barrel of laughter along the way.... Staff where very helpful and straight to the point no long and boring briefings you got told exactly what you needed to hear and left to your own device's. Would highly recommend for groups of adults we had great fun aslong a smaller version of the course for kids.

On 5 January 2023 6 Scouts & 3 adult leaders did the tree top challenge plus and we all had a brilliant time. All the staff was helpful and John-Luke did a great job during the equipment and safety brief. The Treetop challenge + course was fun, challenging, a bit scary at times and the Tarzan swing was alone worth the price of admission.

Great fun. The kids loved it. Good safety training. Water stations are available along the way, which is great. It took about 2.5 hours to complete.

Always enjoyed go ape at Dalby , last year 2022 I took my grandson on Sundown so when I received an email for sundown this time, I decided to book again only to find out that when we got there it was no longer available and we were too late to join on the last adult/bigger course, so grandkids were on the smaller one and I decided not to join them as they didn't need me to supervise... Why send me an email for sundown when it's not available...🤷‍♀️.. 😤.. 😡..

I just love the exhibitions that are held here. Two of the best for me personally - The Lost Words in the past and on now, The Lost Spells. Lovely to see children engaging in the activities there too. It's great for families to visit, space to play, a play area, lots of nature and easy walks. Car parking is a little expensive, but I don't mind this when it is supporting the local economy. The cafe provides welcome refreshments. There are lots of lovely gifts, books, handcrafted items, cards and paintings by local artists. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Walking from the Centre is easy and is particularly glorious at the moment with the heather in full bloom.

Lovely morning out at The Moors National Park Centre. Short walks with lots to see, hear and read about the area and wild life. Sculptures, Park and fun activities also around kids and adults. Plenty of picnic benches dotted around. That was before going in to to the information filled, fun packed Centre itself. From gifts to interactive learning it has it all. If I'm honest, I feel ashamed I've not gone here before now! Will be making this a regular place to visit.

Yorkshire Moors Information Centre with a focus on younger/primary school age children. Free entry but minimum parking charge of £3.50 for 2 hours. The centre is relatively small - easily done in less than an hour. There is a good adventure playground outside and plenty of benches and picnic tables for a quick break. It is also a good starting point for walks.

Excellent place. Great playground and mud kitchen! Lovely trails and exceptionally lovely Christmas themed things dotted about. My autistic son who doesn't believe in magic even said it was magical here. Cant comment on inside in 2022 as we've not been inside since 2018 but it was wonderful then!

Very impressed! Really great, informative and innovative displays within the building. Great layout. Loads of information. Good for kids. Loos, café, exhibition gallery and shop. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Statues and sculptures in the grounds, also kids' play area and a labyrinth. Shop sells maps and literature on walks in the area. The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, so there's loads of walks and paths! It's been a National Park since 1952. I picked up a very handy little booklet from their shop for £2.50, which has 5 walks in, varying from 2 to 4 miles. I'll be back for more, as it's a gorgeous area teeming with wildlife. I saw loads of pheasants, buzzards, a deer and a stoat, all quite marvelous!! Highly recommended.

Had a lovely couple of hours at the centre, and I went to have a look at the Christmas fair, lots of little stalls inside. Had lunch in the cafe, delicious soup and toastie combo.

There's a short walk from the care park. The ground is a bit rough, but it's OK for a wheelchair. It's not too good if you have trouble walking. Everything is easily accessible with a nice little gift shop and a nice cafe that sells light snacks, as well as the usual cakes and drinks. We bought ice cream and sat outside. The scenery is beautiful and there's a lot of seating. The disabled toilet is a bit hard to find. Besides the car park, there is an accessible gate. Inside is a stream and woods. I didn't go in because of the ground being rough. I was told there was a lot of insect life to photo. It is a beautiful place.

Great even for a winter two hour trip or longer if you like the various walks. Only cost is the car park the displays etc are free. Great painting in the current art display. Top marks for the tea shop, great tea and cakes.

The visitor centre and constellation rubbing trail are SUPER DOG UNFRIENDLY, I was severely disappointed when visiting here with children and a dog thinking we would have a nice fun family day out, only to find that the biggest and most loved member of our family (our dog) was excluded. I had to send the kids out with Grandma and Grandpa and miss out on their fun, I just had to wander about with the dog waiting for them to finish their time at Danby Lodge. Literally the only saving grace was being able to sit in the coffee shop with the dog but this appears to be managed outside of the North York Moors National Parks remit. Shame on you North York Moors National Park for excluding one of the biggest reasons why families go to the great outdoors!

Lovely walks, nice cafe, lovely outdoor area, and cute micro second-hand bookshop. We love the Inspired By gallery next door and have bought numerous prints from here. We love Danby Lodge.

Great place for a family day out! Good facilities for children as well as the elderly. This is a favourite place of our 94 years old aunty who loves the painting gallery. She still paints too and is always happy (and looking forward) to seeing what's in the gallery. Nice small cafe, with good food and good service. Toilet and parking lot for disabled available. Oh.. One more thing... since December 2020, this place is recognised as one of the international dark skies reserves 😍😎🔭🪐🌚 Let's support them!
