Nice place to see sunset. Historical statue for Indonesia and Timor Leste. Nowadays, some people do running there. No entry fee. In front of parking area, you can buy coconut, only 1$. The best time to go there, morning and afternoon for sunset.

Beautiful views. It is a little bit of a hike up stairs so it is not for the faint at heart. However going to the top amd seeing it was worth it. Just wish they kept the statue up better.

This is a lovely, favourite place to visit in Dili. It is surprisingly quiet and peaceful, even on Easter Sunday when we visited. You can catch mikrolet 12 or 01 from the centre of Dili, or if you choose to walk it will take 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your speed. It is a nice walk past several beaches if you leave early to avoid the heat, but there are many places with no shade in the middle of the day so it would be quite hot. The steps to the top are easy for people with average fitness. There is also a lovely quiet beach behind the hill. There are many nice places to eat and drink along Cristo Rei Beach just a few minutes walk back from the bottom of the steps to the statue.

Super vista point. From the other side of the statue is a superb beach, torqoise water and nice diving by the cliff. From the Rei statie is a magnificent view on the city, cove and unforgatable sunset.

I took a taxi there around 6am and walked up. There were many others walking, and there were also joggers and runners. The 14 stations of the cross are marked along the way. You could take a rest along the way if needed as you embark on the 500+ steps. It was a beautiful sunrise (every Dili sunrise is beautiful!), and it made for a nice backdrop to the statue.

10-12min hike up the stairs to reach the top. with a beautiful view that not to be missed. there's some people selling drink at the bottom and middle part of the breaking point.

Public transports like Microlet #12 or taxis are also available from Dili to arrive here. The beaches at both sides of this statue are beautiful. Awesome views of Sunrise and Sunsets can be watched from footstep of the statue of Lord Christ.

A well set out and maintained facility explaining the history of Timor Leste - but ‘history’ is limited, like most other museums in TL, to colonial invasions and the fight for independence. While this is obviously a very important aspect to them - it would be great to have a facility showing the huge range of rich cultural and natural history of the country, such as the various hill tribes and varying lifestyles of the TL community.

A really nice and informative museum about the struggles this country had, with a brief history since the Portuguese colonization through very detailed information of the Indonesian occupation and the Timorese uprisings against it. It is a very small museum, so you wouldn’t need more than two hours there. 1$ entry fee. Definitely worth it, it’s good to know the history of this special nation.

A must see part of your stay in Dili. Heartbreaking and somewhat shameful with respect to foreign countries treatment of Timor-Leste, but uplifting the resilience and perseverance of the Timorese.

Really emotional exhibits! Entry price is $1. There are numerous display cases of actual clothing, weapons and accessories used during the war. Rare videos taken by media are played on loop throughout the museum showing actual footage of the fighting. There is a replica of an underground bunker used by one of the famed fighters who actually died from his own living conditions. It's so much larger and more detailed than I had imagined. I highly recommend it. No photography allowed inside the exhibits.

Ouch my neck hurts! The issue is, all the English words that I have to read are at the height level of a child. Also, how many people who visit this museum can speak Portuguese fluently? I just think it might make more sense to have prioritised English text for foreign visitors and to place it at a normal height. Along with this the museum needs more artifacts that aren't just endless lines of text. I think it's great, very informative, but kind of like reading one long book. There isn't much to see as a tourist in Dili, this was interesting but the museum definitely needs more variety.

A must-visit place to understand the modern history of Timor-Leste. Sad to know they were invaded again on the brink independence 50 years ago.

Was interested as a historian in the archives. As you would expect in a new country, the archives are electronic rather than documental and are well organised. The Resistance Museum is very well presented and succeeds well in presenting the story of the resistance struggle.

Great history of Timor is well displayed. The visit was very educational.

For anyone new to town the market is named after tais, which are like scarves you place to welcome/honor someone. So the whole market seems tais. There are also some jewelry and coins. Small market so you don’t need more than 30mins but a must do when you’re here.

Souvenir market, mostly local textiles. The place is rather small with not a whole lot of selection. But will do for a quick shopping for souvenir.

The market consists of small vendors of traditional handicraft, mainly tais (woven textile). This is not a flashy tourist market. Some vendors are from the rural villages and hand make the crafts themselves. Need to bargain for prices, however just consider it as a contribution to the local economy.

An amazing place where you find all sorts of unique East Timorese products. Fabulous weavings by women mostly. If you're in Dili and you miss this, you've missed East Timor. I have pieces that I bought there 18 year ago.

This cemetery is very different from what I am use too... The site seems to be at capacity and very difficult to navigate without walking over graves. Its hard to understand the massacre that occurred here.
