Perhaps because I've seen much better waterfalls this didn't really do it for me. It's not bad, but had I known what it was like, I probably wouldn't spend 200 Baht (40 Baht for Thai) to visit. It lies at the end of a 500 meter trail through the forest with a small viewpoint of the river en route. It's popular with people wanting to swim in the pond at the bottom of the waterfall. Parking motorcycles at the entrance to the Park is another 20 Baht.

A pretty little park to visit... but make sure you visit during the right season. In April, we're far enough out of the wet season that there was barely a trickle over the rocks. We played with the fish and took some nice pics but saw little of the waterfall.

Great way to spend a few hours. The waterfall is around 500m from the ticket office. We visited today and although it's the dry season, it rained briefly this morning, which made the path to the waterfall a little treacherous. It's over rocks and roots so is a little rough in just flip flops. We made it safely, but it's better to wear proper shoes if you have them. The waterfall itself is lovely. The water is very clear and fresh. There's a pool at the bottom of the waterfall which is deep, and there are lifejackets available. The pool extends around 100m or so to some rocks, and by the time it reaches the rocks it's very shallow. So you have the option of just wading and getting your feet wet, or going for a proper swim. The water is full of some very curious fish, who like to nibble at your feet. It's a nice, relaxing half-day trip. Prices: Parking (motorbike) - 10 Baht Parking (car) - 20 Baht Entry fee (Thai national) - 40 Baht Entry fee (foreigner) - 200 Baht

A nice waterfall and swimming area. Access is over rocks, tree roots and it quite uneven so not suitable if you dont like small trails through the rainforest. Water is crystal clear with fish. The only toilets are at the entry so get changed into swimmers before u walk up. Takes about 25mins to walk all the way to the waterfall. Take water with u as there are no vendors selling anything nearby.

Entry Ticket 200 baht/person for foreign (40 baht/Thai people). We come here on July 2023 & the waterfall is falling heavily. From the entrance you may go trekking for about 30 minutes, and beware of slippery trails. It is a easy trekking trip for kids too. There are 5 stations but actually the concept of each station is not clear. Water is clear & there are many fish, but it's also a little bit dangerous to climb & swim in deep water. Worth a try for a half-day activity on the island.

What a beautiful waterfall full of curious fish that will be following you in the water! This place is spectacular! We spent hours there and absolutely love it. The hike is very easy, basically anyone can do it. It's a bit expensive to get in as a foreign but totally worth it. A must see while in Koh Chang!

฿40 to park a car and ฿200 for non-Thai. Pleasant staff and the trail is in really good condition. The whole trail is shaded and only opens up at the waterfall itself. Not too busy but not empty around 13:00 and the fall is still worth seeing in the Dry Season. 40 minutes from car park to fall if you stop at viewpoints and take photos, 20 minutes if you don’t stop. Advisable to wear shoes as although the trail is fairly easy, there are parts that are momentarily steep or require proper footholds.

Waterfall with a pool to swim in. It was fairly easy to walk through the natural path, around 600m from the entrance to reach the waterfall. Entry fee 40 baht per person (for Thai).

Swimming at the waterfall viewing spot (at the end of the trail) is not allowed but we could swim at the big clear pool or shallow waterfalls along the way there. Lots of Pluang fish in the area, some of small ones come to do fish spa for free! Dipping into cold fresh water is a great relaxing and fun acivity esp for kids. Quite a safe place for kids who are able to swim. Also, parking lots at the entrance are available and convenient for cars and motorcycles. No need to park outside the National Park area (and pay more).

I write many reviews and I really am stuck on what to write here ! I want to be positive but it’s not made easy by the experience if I’m honest. I live in Thailand and I am not a tourist - dual pricing is still common in Thailand and they show no shame at all - it’s like they don’t want tourists to visit these places !! So I have pale skin so I paid 200baht and my wife paid 40baht even though I hold a Thai ID and spend all my income in Thailand. If I question this I am told it helps maintain the park or waterfall or golf course or whatever you are over charged for. Well maintenance is certainly not funded by my entrance fee or anybody else’s - the hand rails are either broken or missing so no spending there ! Another over staffed place - 1 very bored man to sell you a ticket without eye contact or a smile - a second man 5 meters away to check your ticket !! We wandered up the 600meters of very unstable and rocky path and even managed not to break an ankle or 2, using the poorly fitted ropes in ad hoc locations we reached the waterfall - Niagara it is not, so don’t get too excited I am glad I did this trip but really unlikely to return. Sorry this has been so negative but it’s hard to praise such an experience.

Khlong Phlu Waterfalls is one of the treasures of Koh Chang and is a must visit for all travelers. I've been here a number of times with family and friends. The path is a mountainous 600 meter trek so watch out for small kids and elders. The final swimming pool at the waterfall has the fish that eat the skin off your feet like the fish spas but by Mother Nature. You can also jump off both sides of the rock formation, an 7 foot drop into the water.

Nice and chilled waterfall with a little hike through the jungle. We visited the waterfall end of october in rainy season and it was perfect. There is a parking space for 20 Baht right before the entrance. If you are lucky you can also drive through the entrance and park directly on one of the few free parking spaces.

Koh Chang is not just about beaches. If you are bored with beaches and want to take bath in fresh water, then there are 5 to 6 waterfalls in Koh Chang. Among them Khlong Phlu waterfalls is the best. You have to hike for 500 mts to reach the falls. It is a very easy hike. Also you have to get an entry pass as this waterfalls is located inside a national park.

Beautiful waterfall, short hike. Crystal clear water. Bring good shoes, the rocky, wet path is challenging in flip flops. Also wear your bathing suit.

Nice 1,5 hours walk from our resort to this beautiful waterfall. We’ve spend some time there, my daughter swam a little in the clear water with some fish in it. During dry season, the water fall had little water. But nevertheless it’s nice there. Calm, pure nature and far away from rest of the island

I recently visited the waterfall in Koh Chang near White Sand Beach and had a wonderful time. The trekking and trail walk to the waterfall offered stunning views of the surrounding nature. Although the entrance fee for non-Thai people was 200 baht, which I found a bit pricey, the clear water lake with many visible fishes made it worthwhile.

200 baht entrance fee seemed a bit steep but it was a nice walk up and the falls and swimming area were beautiful and refreshing. Some quite large fish to look at and the smaller ones do nibble your feet but a really nice way to relax. Go there early to avoid the annoying Russians!

Water fall is about 900m from the gate. It is applied entrance fee. The walking pass to the wall is made by people walked and step on stone and route of tree too. And up and down. We saw an older person came with son but it is tough to walk. At the end we can see this wall. Water is cooler and many dishes there. Once you step in and stand still, you feel something biting your foot. Fish like doctor fishes are biting foot. Worth to come and enjoy cooler water.

Lovely place. Hike in can be a little slippery at times depending on the weather as well. There are guide ropes at certain points that are helpful as well. Could be a little challenging for people with mobility issues. Very scenic walk in. Well kept areas. Lovely waterfall with nice pool underneath to cool off. Did have a few nibblie fish but not too bad. Definite must see of Koh Chang. 200baht to get in for adults.

Went there in April 2024. Price for an adult- 200 thb. It’s a very short 10-15 min light hike to the waterfall. The forest is beautiful and very lush green with butterflies flying all around you. If you come early in the morning you will be able to enjoy the swim to the waterfall on your own.

Driving up hills, we arrived at this beach. When we parked our car, we walked through some pebbles after arriving here. Couldn't find anywhere to park next to sandy beach.

Nice narrow beach of white sand and clear water (photos taken in December) - wild vibes with few restaurant/bar directly on the sand

Small and narrow but fairly empty, so you (almost) have the beach to yourself. Water is cloudy though, so no snorkeling. Mostly good for getting your tan on and some sunset dips.

It's a lovely beach with lots of nightlife and restaurants. A bit slow because there is a distinct low season from May due to the wet season. This is a good time to go if you don't want crowds. We stayed in a hotel right on the beach.

It's the longest beach on Koh Chang on the west side, very nice clear water in non monsoon season and a good place to swim and recreation.

Stunning quiet long stretch of natural beach. Depending what time of day, the tide can take up a lot of beach sand space. Lots of shade on the north part of the beach. Many beachside massage spots and restaurants to choose from.

The beach area near the the mouth of the river is beautiful and clear on the first day we visited. We had a wonderful swim as it was deep enough , and we could see under the water for any stones. It was mostly sandy, few stones in the water. The beach in the late afternoon was not too busy. It felts pretty chilled. Not any shaded areas to sit unless you sit at one of the resort restaurants, which is fine. We accessed this with a kayak supplied by our hotel from the river which took less than 10 minutes , and we are novice rowers. We think it’s possible to access the beach from the other side without having to row there. The only down side is that near the middle of the beach there is a waste water system where this water looks like it flows into the sea. Therefore although it seemed clean when we were there, we are not certain if it really was , and how much longer this beautiful sea can remain clear with the waste systems. We hope that it won’t be spoiled. The second time visited later in the week. Water not as clear, we we went further north up the beach. It was still soft sand and warm waters, and swimming was possible. It’s just more apparent that there is waste water being pumped into the sea which isn’t nice.

The most beautiful beach on the island ever, the long beach with the perfect sand. Various restaurant and few coffee shop along the beach, also the peacefully space for you to relax, listing to the tidal wave and stay with yourself. Freely enjoy your swimming in the ocean and sunbathing on the beach. Let's go.

Nice pier with people still living on the houses connected to it. The restaurant on it are on the other hand quite tourist centred and expensive. We found a nice restaurant right opposite the start of the pier (looks like a parking lot) and ate for half the price of what the other restaurants were offering! It also gets VERY hot on the pier. Its good to go in the morning or the afternoon when they are selling lots of affordable snacks like fruit, seafood on a astick, Thai pancakes and more.

I love this place, it has so much character. The ramshackled somewhat random collection of wooden stilted building sprouting either side of the central walkway is a large part of it's charm. Some of these buildings are in disrepair and others look as they they might disintegrate into the sea, but it all seems to hang together with a variety of shops and eating places. There is even accommodation to rent on the Pier. But there are two parts to this Pier, the second part is open, and a mooring area for boats doing dive/snorkeling trips, sightseeing and fishing boats. Great views out to sea and the shoreline from the smal lighthouse at the end of the Pier. This place is a tourist attraction in it's on right.

Very Scenic. The pier itself is beautiful with a restored lighthouse and dozens of colorful boats, both fishing and tourist. A lot of tourists stalls to shop through on the way to the pier if you still need to pick up gifts.

Good place to visit, but don't make it a priority if you're staying on the island for a very short term (beaches are where you want to go). The point of view at the end of the pier is very nice tho, and you will find some seafood restaurant and souvenir shops all the way to the end of the pier.

A nice place to take a walk for 30mins out to the lighthouse at the end of the pier. You have to park your motorcycle before the 7-11 and pay 20baht OR….. you could go down the road a little (20 metres) buy an iced coffee or drink from a vendor for 30baht, and avoid the 20 baht parking fee. That is what i did. There are a lot of shops on the pier selling everything at expensive prices but they don’t hassle you to buy. Which is nice. Great iced coffee from the lady on the side of the road about 20m back from the seven eleven. And she also speaks english too!!

Bang bao pier locates in Bang bao bay, it is used for many tourist boat trip and to hop to other islands, such as koh mak, koh kood. There is a float market at the pier. At 9am and 4:30pm, the pier will be very busy, since the tourists taking the boat trip will come and return to the pier, at other time, the pier will be relatively quiet, especially at dusk. There is a tower at the end of the pier. The view at the pier is not bad.

Needs a lot of work as many parts are run down. Watch your step as many dangers if not careful. A few new shops have been built but no tenants. Not many tourists so many places shops and restaurants are closed. Been here many times before but hasn't changed much in 3 years. Parking is a rip off, my car cost me 60 baht short term & 200 baht a day if longer. 3 years ago short term was 40 baht. 50% increase. Will only go again if tour booked and use free songthaew.

Quaint in some respects but a tourist trap too. Some interesting photo ops from off the main drag which sells all the usual tourist stuff. I assume that it has been a fishermen village, a longtime ago. For the last 5 years, with the mass tourism, it looks like more a big supermarket. Really not interesting to visit anymore. They sell only items coming from China. No handcraft. I wasted my time

Local market with exotic experience along the pier. But on weekday I visited, most of the shop are closed and that made the market so quiet. However the pier has beautiful panoramic ocean view.

Stepping onto Bang Bao Pier feels like you've unlocked a gateway to Koh Chang, Thailand's third-largest island. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an idyllic fishing village where the horizon, sea, and land meld together in a serene dance. When you get off, you'll smell the sea and hear birds. You'll also see many fishing boats on the sea. This place is not just for catching boats. It shows what Koh Chang is all about. The pier is on the west coast of the island. From here, you can easily get to places like Lonely Beach and Kai Bae. White sand beaches are close by, showing how beautiful Koh Chang is. Seafood restaurants abound, each dishing out sumptuous oceanic delicacies. Nearby, souvenir shops display a myriad of artifacts and crafts, waiting for visitors to find the perfect memento of their travels. Bang Bao Pier's location offers a good connection to places such as Laem Ngop and Salak Phet. This busy pier has many wooden stilts in the calm sea. It's a main spot for ferries, fishing boats, and shared rides, making it perfect for different day trips. Walking on the pier feels like being in an old fishing village. You can see fishermen working and boats nearby. There are places to eat seafood and shops to buy souvenirs to remember Koh Chang. From every corner, panoramic views on the Gulf of Thailand present a dream canvas for photographers. The clear demarcation where the azure waters kiss the sky is simply mesmerizing. For those eager to venture further, ferries are ready to whisk you away to Laem Ngop, revealing another facet of coastal Thai life.

The houses on stilts are very nice to look at. There are a few restaurants and cafes on the way to the lighthouse. It can be very busy on some days due to the many boat tours that depart from the pier here.

Very cool and long pier where you can eat, buy souvenirs, watch sunset. Tip: there's a 7/11 next to the pier. From klong khloi, it's around 25min by foot.

Very interesting pier. Small shops are lined up along the pier and bring a unique ambiance. Make sure you bring thai bath in cash since most shops in koh chang won't accept credit cards. You either use cash or scan most of the time.

Great variation of locally produced craftwork and alive and kicking seafood - until you select it for your dish. And before you do in, treat yourself with a pineapple so sweet, it is the food for gods.

Nice long pier. This is where you can catch the namy boats for snorkeling and diving in Koh Chang island. Or to go to other nearby small islands for lodging. In the way to the pier there's namy small shops and restaurants. Right at the pier there's a nice big café, very cozy.

Lonely Beach has a lovely rather "Hippyish" vibe to it with chilled music from speakers pushing out rhythmic low beats. It is primarily a young packpackers style beach. Along here you get small platform bars just a foot or two above the sand where people sit on cushions drinking a beer. It's also where they have fireshows at night. Alas it's seen better days, one of the main backpacker hut style resorts here has not survived Covid leaving fewer options for cheap backpacker accommodation. Broken, wood and concrete structures behind the Beachfront remain as its legacy.

First came here 25 years ago when you had to get a boat around from the next beach. Stayed at tree house back then. Was lovely then, still clean now, but seems like private resorts have taken over. At the southern end there's a rundown pier of beer bars and a restaurant but most have shut down now.

Lonely beach area with the same names small, clean beach. A laid back place that's perfect to relax and watch the sunset without mass tourism. Drinks, food and massage all available at the beach. Definitely one of our favourite places to enjoy beach life. If you need more, just walk 10 minutes to the village center and you will find clubs, bars and restaurants.

This beach is so beautiful! It's my second favorite beach in Koh Chang. It's too far from convince stores, and the road is hard to drive to the beach. However, it's worth the view!!!! ❤️❤️ There were not many rock, and it's clean!! Recommend to come here in Siam hotel. Seem to be the best part of this beach.

The BEST beach on the island. We loved this beach. Amazingly chill and not as windy as the other beaches. Great for singles, couples or families. Not too crowded either. Lovely for sunset! Just find a room near this beach and ENJOY!

Lovely clear sea but blighted by broken down concrete structures. Not much choice for accommodation.

Clear calm warm water gets deep enough for a proper swim. A couple ranges of beach restaurant bars to choose from in terms of price. The beach was clean when we visited. There were some shaded areas to sit depending on the time of day. There are small rocks for a few meters but you can swim over them and after lovely soft sand. Was not overly busy when we arrived but there were plenty of people in the sea swimming!

One of my favorite beaches on the commercial side of the island. For the most part, this white sand beach is shared by 2 wonderful resorts, Nature Beach Resort and The Siam Beach Resort. Both resort add their charm to the beach. It has one of the best sunsets on the island and there’s no shortage of food and beverages, beach chairs and happy beach goers. This is my go-to beach every time I’m on the island.

LOVE this beach .. full of amazing restaurants and somewhat empty beach but the restaurant were full! Was here during Songkran festival and it was so much fun! A group of us went here as friend and rented an AIRBNB and this was the beach we chose was this one and we had a great time. Hanging out here all day the the perfect way to pass your day! Caution: when you are swimming in this ocean water be aware of being carried away as this ocean is a bit more wavy and can get carried away like we did and we had to carefully swim back as we couldn't touch the ocean floor. Highly recommend to go to Koh Chang!

The beach is beautiful. Sharp stones when you go inside the water so be careful. The only problem is that the beach is full of rubbish and nobody is doing anything about this apparently.

It was challenging to find a normal entrance to the beach. The one we found was through the hotel so we bought a coconut just to swim a bit. The beach itself is ok and clean, but has lots of rocks before entering the water.

Marked as one of my most favorite place for watching a sunset. Not to include that the beach here is sandy and nice, surrounded by nice bars and restaurants like Nature beach resort, Mimo bar or Life's a beach (these are my absolute favorite place to have food/drinks or something to smoke plus paddle boards and kayaks to rent if you want some adventure!) Also this area has small massage shops that also affordable (compare to the fact that it's situated at the beach so you can enjoy the beach, the sunset and such during your massage time!) I'd really recommended this beach for sure (around Nature beach resort area til the end) They also have fire show during specific time and day in the evening 🔥 sick! You wouldn't be disappointed!

Warning: rant coming! We were appaled by Lonely beach and the little 'village' that surrounds it. A lot of run down resorts, trash really everywhere, broken cars and appliances alongside of the road. We travelled around Thailand for a month and this place was the worst. Almost everything you see is built for touristst only. There's no Thai culture left and it shows. 2 bars with loud music every night.... But please....it can be so different. Start to clean the place up! Pick up the trash, provide waste bins...how hard can it be? Saddest place I've seen. Never going back.

I was concerned at first that I was going to see a lot of mistreated animals, but I honestly think they put the animals ahead of themselves at what I believe is a family run business. Everyone there was great, the experience with the elephant was quite good and at the elephant's pace. Price was reasonable. A tip for tourists - if you want to do the swim, you probably need to get there when the creeks have water in them, and I'm thinking early afternoon. All up, not a bad experience, for me or the elephant.

I went here 12 years ago and it was amazing. Felt like the elephants were in a sanctuary. Now 12 years later it was just a tourist trap with only a few elephants in instead of dozens and they didn't seem happy. Staff was not friendly. Too bad. I have told many people about this place over the years. But will not return.

I stopped to see these elephants while driving by and was saddened at how tightly they were chained 😢 They can’t even take 1 step forward or backwards. 😢 They can barely reach the food tourists are feeding them. I don’t support cruelty to animals and left! Someone please save these beautiful creatures from these owners who are cruel to them and exploiting them.

Animal abuse, please do not support this cruelty and exploitation. Elephants are chained and beaten from a young ages through a ‘breaking ceremony’ (Google it) to make them submissive enough to ride. These places profit from abuse.

Would give zero stars if I could. Please stay away from places that give elephant rides. I did not know before I went there. It is bad for the elephants. We saw 3 elephants. 2 we're chained up surrounded by manure and the third was used to ride people around.

Visited the oldest elephant camp on Koh Chang. Thoroughly enjoyable. A lot of bad media about elephant riding at the moment in Thailand. Sad to see some places on news badly treating elephants. I didn't see any animal cruelty. Do they have to control massive elephants? That isn't going to be achieved by harsh language. Other reviews complain they are chained up. Of course they are chained up! They can not be allowed to walk off and damage property / hurt people. It would be illegal for them to do it. Also people review and say riding on their back is cruel. Even though they have been used for war, logging and carrying stones for 1000's of years? I'm sure a 3000kg elephant can cope with less than 200kg for a short ride. (No one seems to complain when people ride horses. Interesting.) This camp has been run for generations. After speaking for a long time to the owner we discussed the regulations all elephant farms are under. Also the increased cost, of now £20,000 per elephant. Doesn't sound like most elephant farmers have it in their own interests to hurt their own valuable assets. So it would seem that animal cruelty is probably more of an exception, rather than the rule. And if everyone stops supporting Elephant farms in Thailand, where will the elephants go? 'Into the wild' seems to be our city-dwellers delusion and in reality is not a viable option. I know ideally perhaps a safari style only view wild elephants would be ideal. Although wild elephants are much more dangerous apparently (eg. A camera flash can scare them). So I guess unless someone can come up with an idea and huge funding to allow humans to live alongside dangerous wild animals that require a lot of land, I guess this is the best option.

Really in trek through the forest and across a river. My wife, 4-year-old daughter, and my fat self! So glad we went! Just 15 minutes from White Sands beach. Daughter was a little hesitant but we all had a great time in the end.

A horrible experience, practically if it wasn't for the young elephant, wich was a baby last year at the same January 6'th I wouldn't visit the location, but because I wanted so much to see the condition that he was kept in I took my kids to see with their own eyes that humans are beasts. So, the baby elephant now a young was in chains, the leg had bruises because of the chains, he was starving and we keep giving him fruits,we bought for some hundred of baht and keep giving him , and at the end we gave him water wich he refused, I was in shocked because elefants don't do that, but I could remark as a vet that he was suffering practically crying as a small kid, we stayed at last one hour and when we wanted to go he tried to get off the chains from the leg, but it was impossible, that is when the tragedy continued,so I forced my kids wich are 11 and 9 to go and don't look back otherwise I would have probably beaten the elephant's owner. No, I cannot and would not understand why somebody would keep doing this stuff. The situation must be solved once and for all and I hope that for this young elefant in a good way. The pictures are below and I encourage you all to avoid riding and tracking with these beautiful and intelligent animals.

Don't support animal tourism! Elephants are endangered wild creatures which belong in the jungle and not in a camp. If you care about elephants don't ride their backs and don't take a bath with them. Only we as tourist can make a change if we stop booking these tours. Thank you.

DO NOT SUPPORT THE ELEPHANT TOURIST INDUSTRY There are many ethical venues in Thailand such as Elephant Nature Park and Elephant Hills where you can stay in beautiful accommodation alongside elephants who have been rescued from these vile venues. There will be no riding as that is just too cruel but you can make elephant food, feed, bathe and walk with the non chained elephants in happy surroundings.

Animals are chained. They look extremely bored and sad. To put it simply they are not free. They are not here for your enjoyment. Please stop visiting places that abuse animals.

We had a great time rising the elephant and exploring the jungle. The butterflies were the size of birds, and the elephant was so sweet. They were happy to take loads of photos and videos while we washing her. A beautiful trek and great service.

Horrible place.They do abuse elephants. I had no idea that you can find something so awful on beautiful island od Koh Chang. To be clear, I was just passing by, visiting waterfall, but the suffering of elephants was very obviously visible from the road. Poor animal are chained only few meters away from the road. Do not go there, do not spend your money supporting this dirty business! If you dont understand what is wrong with elephant rides, please, google this topic.

Chained to a pole for tourist’s pleasure. Elephants are used to make profit. Poor intelligent creatures.

You can and even should feed this elder elephants. They are nice and come on, elephants are always cool
