Nice place to walk and run The beach is not my favourite

A nice trail to walk, look out over the ocean and get some fresh air. It's a great place to walk your dog, with well defined trails and nice flowering succulents along the sides of the path. The trail offers a few areas where you can cross the train tracks and enjoy the beach. Be careful and aware while walking because at times bicycles can move up on you rapidly attempting to pass. I like to park at the North Beach parking lot, although it can feel a bit sketchy at times. From there, you can head south, enjoy a nice walk to the pier, restaurant and shopping area. The eateries offer some outside dining, where you can enjoy a meal near the fresh ocean air. It's definitely a nice relaxing way to spend an afternoon. You can get a little exercise, take some photos and enjoy a view of the coastline.

Every time I walk on this beach trail I stop at the lovely bench near Lost Winds and look out at Seal Rock directly in front of me and I give thanks to the people who who worked to create this trail. The views are absolutely gorgeous. People are walking, running enjoying the trail.

This place is absolutely beautiful!! There are fire pits also, which is really nice! The trail is well kept and we had a wonderful afternoon here.

The stairs are steep but a great workout. The trail is a great place for a walk, but no dogs are allowed on the beach. So we enjoyed the ocean from the trail.

Walk the shoreline, enjoy the sounds, the gentle crashing of the waves, the beautiful rocks, like treasures. Clean up after your leashed dogs. Feel safe. *one thing however, there are several homeless people camping out...not aggressive.

Fabulous morning at the Pier in San Clemente.

One of the great walks of the world. Great ocean views, easy, not crowded, and access to restaurants and shops. Today I saw dolphins 30 yards offshore.

Me and my family had a great time here, parking took awhile but it was worth it. 2 hours was roughly $2.50 I believe. Had a restaurant right on the trail which was super cool we got an açaí bowl, it was good. Lots of surfers which was fun seeing them shred. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Close to the beach right above the cliff. Has a great view of the sunset. Bathrooms and showers are clean. It is very developed and has a lot of people. Can get noisy at night. This is not one of those "nature" camping sites, rather a lively and family oriented campsites.

What a beautiful gem of a campsite along the beach. Coastal views amazing. Clean restrooms/ hot showers. Picnic benches and fire pits. Loved that it is literally located within San Clemente. Plenty of close by shopping and dining. Even ebike rentals. We saw riders on the sand. So fun!

One of my favorite So Cal beach sites. Huge well kept RV hook-up all-pull-thru extra-long sites plus an even nicer area of tent sites. Some sites overlooking cliff, most have ocean view. Short bikeride into town and San Clemente Pier. Great surfing walk from sites.

We visited during the kiddos spring break vaca for 4 days in April. We absolutely loved our stay here. Beautiful campground. Open space. Clean bathrooms. Dump station. Fresh water. All good. Beach is pretty close but its a steep short trek. The closest beach doesn't allow doggies. Already booked to come back later in the year. Next time we'll bring our bikes. Highly recommended.

Nice state park and campground on a bluff with a lot of views of the Pacific, especially from the premium sites. We always stay in the primitive sites that offer more privacy from your neighbors. Good solar panel exposure never a problem but generators are allowed too. It’s somewhat of a tight fit for our medium sized rig but we many with bigger rigs jammed into primitive sites too. Big rigs and those that must have power, water, sewer would be more comfortable in the full service area. The restrooms and showers pretty well maintained but I have seen shortages of toilet paper from time to time. One bad thing is that campers here don’t respect sites like other places — if you’re between other sites and the restrooms they will just cut thru tour site. Aggravating. Also, don’t leave anything valuable out especially on the road side or it’ll be stolen.

Weather was great. Site next to us had 6 tents, RV, 2 cars 20 people staying there. More came at dinner time. Hooked up to our electric pedestal without asking. They smoked cigarettes in our driveway. No enforcement when we were there. Found an authentic Mexican market called Primo Foods within walking distance. Cheap street tacos 99 cents except Tuesday and Friday they are 69 cents. The fish and carne asada tacos were delicious. Also have burritos, quesadillas, tortas. Nice walk from the campground. This is our first time camping at the beach and couldn't see the ocean from our camper.

Very well kept beach. Only thing I would change is that they had showers available. I think they would normally but everything is under construction so there's no where to rinse anything off, which makes it a pain.

Love this place, so close to home, but it feels like you're somewhere else. The beach is beautiful. The campgrounds are clean and well maintained Including the restrooms and showers. You have plenty of room between yourself and neighbors. We look forward to coming here each and every time. The rail trail is a beautiful and flat walk to San Clemente pier and even further North if you like. I've been here 6 times and look forward to returning each and every time. So many great places to eat and visit close by as well.

Well maintained public beach and camping grounds. Facilities were well cleaned, and the sites and trash maintained daily.

Disappointing. We love California and the California state parks. However, this park needs some TLC. The grounds around campsite were dying back and not maintained. Neighboring campers were allowed to play loud music late into the evening and a group of young scouts, were yelling and kicking the doors to the restrooms late at night. Maintenance workers closed the showers to clean them at 7:45 AM the morning we were checking out.

Was very beautiful. The camping was amazing. Lots of bunnies, squirrels and even a skunk. Loved my stay. Has flushing toilets, showers that are token operated( $1 gets you 2 tokens, each token gets you 2 mins of shower). Nice fire rings and benches. Lots of flowers and lots to see

The Casa is beautifully kept and the gardens are lovely! The volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the casa as well as the history of San Clemente. The views of the ocean were so pretty! We really enjoyed the gardens and the lovely architecture. Great location and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended 👍👍

Beautiful way to spend an hour. Super interesting historical information posted around the house and there's an audio tour as well. Gardens with panoramic ocean views of San Clemente /Dana point. Gist shop with snacks. $5 per adult.

Absolutely stunning views, it’s such a tranquil place, there’s a path to walk along to see the beautiful gardens. It’s the perfect place for a quiet date, it was also very sunny. We took water and some light snacks. There’s plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the breeze and beautiful views.

As a wedding photographer who has captured several weddings at Casa Romantica over the years, I can say that it is my favorite wedding venue in San Clemente. The historic building is always a joy to photograph and the views, especially at sunset, are amazing.

Casa Romantica is a magical place. It’s filled with history and is set on a beautiful place overlooking the ocean. The outside seating is a wonderful place for the children’s book reading. July 4 is amazing there. They host a meal and you can sit inside or outside. The fireworks are amazing and the view is spectacular. You can see the fireworks up and down the coast from the back patio. It was our best friend’s happy place so we went to all of their events. Go and enjoy it with your family and friends.

It's better to come here at night when the light bulbs are on and the chimney is on, if they do that. It would be more romantic. It's also good to go here in the afternoon but you would miss out on seeing sunset and the beach from below

Historical San Clemente home with beautiful gardens, a view of the ocean, and a small space for art exhibits. Current exhibit is California places from past artists compared to a contemporary local artist. Well worth the small admission fee.

It's $5 to get in.... when u can only see half of it. Due to landside. Lady was rude. After we paid for 2 we just had 30mins to look around because she had a dinner party to go to so they closed early. They could of told us ahead of time before wasting our time...

It houses a beautiful gardens, a view of the ocean, and a small space for art exhibits. Pay small admission fee. Since due to recent developments, most of the access were closed. So suggest one can visit post construction.

Casa Romántica is a magical place for photography of any kind, especially engagement and wedding! The spaces are beautiful and well kept. I recommend booking a weekday for a quieter experience. Walk down to the pier for a change of scenery afterwards!

We have visited the beautiful gardens many times at Casa Romantica and had heard that they sustained damage from the heavy rains earlier in 2023. The aerial photo shows the extent of the damage to the rear building and the hillside. So sad, but we hope they will be able to rebuild it. The flowers were still very pretty.

One of my favorite things to do is go to historical estates with gardens and this one did not disappoint. Ole Hanson was the former mayor of Seattle (the anarchists hated him and sent him a mail bomb to let him know!) who ended up moving to California where he established San Clemente. The grounds are meticulously maintained. Volunteers, I’m assuming, who were working, were lovely. And the view!

Although a recent storm had caused a landslide, there was such a warmth in the people we met working there, it seemed that most are volunteers, but their hearts and caring showed through and we seemed to connect and find out this physical location was well supported by these women and the grounds keeper. We walked the remaining gardens, and views, enjoyed taking some photos, walked hand in hand, and shared a little romance... so we look forward and hope that others will step up to assist in the rebuilding and replanting once the grounds are stabilized. We will certainly be looking to visit again.

We came to the San Onofre State Park to do a hike, and we enjoyed the visit. The place is not super crowded, and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. It is a little difficult to walk on the beach because it is very rocky, but we still enjoyed the visit to this location.

This is one of the most beautiful spots for anyone visiting, or even for non-visitors to hangout and have a relaxed day at the beach. There are beautiful rocks and cliffs to see, and many skilled (and beginner) surfers to watch.

this place is a constant memory for me ... in this spot I surfed with the marines of the neighboring base .... surfing on wonderful, high, slow, powerful waves .... for those who remember it is the place where it was filmed the 1991 film Point Break and many other surf movies

You too can be only feet away from 200,000 pounds of deadly radioactive spent fuel rods that have be collecting there since the 1960s. It is protected by a six foot tall sea wall and sits on an earthquake fault line. Bring along a radioactivity counter for the kids to play with!

The beach was nice, lots of surfers out and about. We were just passing through and just walked around a bit and relaxed. It would be nice if you could just pay for 3 hrs if you are only planning to be there for a little while.

Are you wondering why the parking lot is always full? Not too long ago, you could drive down the dirt road along the coast and park 100+ cars. Now, the road is closed where the pavement ends at the 24 car asphault parking lot. Walking down the depressing old dirt road with rip-rap boulders along the surfside, it saddens me that this is not the SanO I once knew. Great for patient surfers, but sad for people who knew the sandy beaches with bamboo outcroppings that are now long gone due to beach erosion.

Unfortunately the parking lot was destroyed by the rain, so only the small lot is available to cars. Great surfing beach otherwise!

We always do a quick pit stop here whenever we come back from Los Angeles trips. Kids had fun exploring and found a lot of sea creatures this time around. We adults just built rock towers. Beautiful views.

World famous surfing beach with a long history of churning out waves that peel forever. Drive down and park right at the shoreline, set up your food and blanket, and enjoy a scenic treasure. Get here early, real early, like 6am, to get a spot because a long line develops quickly once the beach reaches capacity. They have showers and restrooms all along the beach and a fire pit here and there. Be careful getting in and out of the water because there are rocks that will roll over your feet when the waves break at the shore. Relax and enjoy one of SoCal's gems.

San O is a great beach to surf or hangout with those who surf. If you’re looking for a beach with a walking path and volleyball, this isn’t it. Nice long breaks and cool people. Arrive early, bring your board and aloha.

Best place to surf and chill with your dog

Not a bad place to walk around and spent some time shopping. It was around 1215 pm when we showed up. Every Saturday there is a car show between 10 am and Noon I think. They park by the Nike store. Today they were only a few left by the time we got there. From what I hear, it does get lots of different cars, classic, muscle, JDM, domestic, imports, and even motorcycles! The outlet itself, is smaller than I expected for an outlet. I think the San Isidro (San Diego) are bigger, but I could be wrong. It was a still pleasant walk through the different shops. They also had music playing by a DJ. It also seemed kinda empty. Maybe it will pick up later in the day.

It's located close to the highway, so it's easy to access, but the number of brand companies is not that diverse. It's close to the highway, so it's easy to access, but there aren't as many brands as I thought. In addition, there was no food court, and I found only one noodle house, and it would have been nice to have a cafe or a place that sells juice together. The public toilet is also located in only one place, so you have to walk a distance that is not relatively close. But the restroom here is reminiscent of the facilities of a five-star hotel.

Small outlet but nicely designed and has major brands. Friendly staff and easy to walk around. Perfect location on the way between LA and SD.

Just walking around today around 9am while my Tesla charges. Love that there was a game area (chess, connect 4, & corn hole). Great activities to pass the time with my small kids, especially since the stores were not open. The stores open at 10am I believe. I want to take time to highlight the Women bathroom next to the game area. OMG the BEST mall bathroom I have ever been to! Walking in smelled like fresh linen and sweet powder. From the elaborate tiling on the walls, the wall sconces, the chandelier, the 3 full length mirrors, the 2 baby changing stations, the full room sitting lounge, 20 bathroom stalls….everything was impeccable! This experience could be based off the fact that I was probably the first person to use the bathroom that day, but the effort and level of service does not go unnoticed. Thank you for the great bathroom experience!

The outlets at San Clemente has improved a lot. It's fun. Food and coffee places are good. All sports brand are there. It's worth a visit.

Usually coming here for South OC cars & Coffee but also love to pop into planet beauty for hair care needs and to stop into both the Converse and Columbia stores. Ample parking, a handful of food and snack options, plenty of shopping opportunities and even a pumpkin patch in the fall. Worth a stop and shop for sure.

I enjoyed my experience here. I went on a Friday during the day, and it was perfect. There weren’t many people, and every store was a pleasant experience. I had breakfast at the Rockwell’s Bakery, which was okay (check out my review on this restaurant on my profile). There were a good number of stores and a lot of space to walk freely and distanced. They also have quite a few places to eat whether you want an entire meal or just a snack. One thing that stood out to me in this shopping center was how clean and well taken care of everything was, especially the restrooms. The restrooms even have a waiting room and an actual memory foam changing station for babies. 10/10 in cleanliness for sure. It is the cleanest shopping center/ mall bathroom I’ve ever been to 😂, and I’m not exaggerating at all. Recommend you check out this shopping center yourself.

I am having hard time to find things to buy. Not many brands and not particular good deal. The bathroom is one of the nicest one for all the outlet I ever been.

It’s a pleasant place to shop here! Stunning location up on the hill with wondrous views of the ocean. Great for walking around with a starbucks coffee with you, and It’s never too crowded here. Everything is clean, and the bathrooms are very well kept. Most of your typical mall stores are present. Guess store was a favorite. The Nike, Tilly’s and Calvin Klein stores were nice, too. And I loved the trolleys. You can pick up the trolley here, and it will take you to the pier. Awesome! 😄🌊

I just love the Outlets at San Clemente!! It's close to the Ocean had plenty of free parking and the Christmas lights and Tallest Christmas Tree is a sight to see!! Happy Holidays everybody!!

Lovely shopping mall. Really nice feel to the place. Loads of free parking. Very clean. Ladies toilets are like a 5* hotel.

This is the most beautiful outlet mall that I have ever seen. A few nice places to eat, some games, delicious snacks and coffee, and excellent environment. Also … quite crazily … this mall has the cleanest, most attractive public restrooms anywhere. I won’t add photos of them of course, but just check them out sometime, and you will see what I mean. On Saturday mornings, see an amazing car show. And … to give your visit an exclamation point, stop by San Clemente Pier afterwards for a special oceanic experience.

This new mall is very pleasant and clean with nice architecture. Parking is convenient. Women's rest room is worth a visit. Feels like you are at a 5* hotel!
