I stayed here primarily because it's the closest hotel to the train station. The tub was deep enough that I could soak (I'm 5'10"). I had great nights rest. I wasn't too happy about some of the extra fees they add to your room (~$20+). So add $20 to whatever price you see advertised. I'm not a gambler so I didn't enter the casino.

After being a frequent guest (DIAMOND ELITE LEVEL) at this casino and hotel for more than 2 decades. I really have to re-think going back. I was there on Sunday night and had a horribly embarrassing and humiliating experience at the main casino bar. I approached the bar for a Heineken. Next to me at the bar was a cocktail server. She called out her order to the bartender and then asked him "did you take a $20 from the bar"? "I'm pretty sure I put a $20 down on the bar". The bartender, Marc, looked her in the face and said "No" The cocktail server looked at me and there I was standing with a $20 in my hand. She looked at me again and again. Then, the other bartender with dark hair leaned-in toward the cocktail server and said "do you want me to call surveillance"? She again looked me over and then said "Yes" So...now I know that she thinks the $20 in my hand was stolen from her. People sitting at the bar were looking on as I said to her: "Do you really think I took your money"? She said "Oh, no...I didn't think that" I was the only one within reach of her money with the exception of the bartender that emphatically denied taking it. Surveillance informed them that the bartender, Marc, that said he didn't take it off the bar...did INDEED take it off the bar. Is he very forgetful or a liar that steals money? CLEARLY, the server thought I took her money and others sitting at the bar watch intently at the drama. I was mortified and humiliated beyond measure. i informed my casino host via text of the incident and he apologized and said his boss was informed. I half-expected a call, email or text from someone at Harrah's, but it seems they're perfectly content to have pretend nothing too bad happened. They could have asked for a review from surveillance without the implied accusation that I was a thief and spared me the embarrassment and humiliation. It's not likely I will return to Harrah's or other Caesar's properties. There are too many choices to return where I'm treated so poorly.

Easy in and easy out. Rooms were large and very nice, no smoke smell. Service is excellent at the front desk. Game floor was not crowded and plenty of table games. My $69 room cost me $150.....dang marketing and betting losses! It was worth it, I'll be back.

The pros are that every staff member was very kind and helpful in the casino and hotel. Our room was pretty big and mostly clean. The bathtub was massive and water pressure was excellent and hot. The sundries shop at the front desk had a wide variety of items you may have forgotten. Lots of affordable restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and parking was simple. When we came in at 10pm to retire for the evening, the lobby smelled like fresh pizza. The cons are that our room's previous occupant left their used coffee bag in the machine and a half pot of stinky burned coffee. Some how, house keeping missed that. There are soap dispensers in the shower for shampoo and body wash but they were topped off with water to appear more full, so they hardly made any suds. Every pop machine we encountered was broken and the ice machine on our floor was not working. Your key card won't allow you to take the elevator to any other floor so we couldn't try other ice machines. And you should expect some late night intoxicated folks on the weekends, hollering in the hallway and waking you up if you turn in early. Overall decent experience.

Nice place, but Way too noisy. Clean, employees polite, helpful, and cheerful. Food is good in all eating areas. Matresses could be nicer quality. Will go again.

The staff was very friendly and attentive, from the casino floor to security to the hotel staff. We got a non-smoking King room and the room was spotless...very clean! The bathroom had a hairdryer that worked!!! The tub was massive... definitely room for 2! Private toilet room, soap/body wash provided, and plenty of towels. The casino gave some, took some away, and then let us walk away with some. New and (best of all) old school slots, a nice variety of dollar, quarter, and penny slots. The tables were open, and there was room to sit at anyone you wanted to. There is a little cafe serving good sandwiches and Starbucks. 2 bar areas w/staff pouring cold beer and stiff drinks. This was our 2nd stay here and we'll be back!

Front desk concierage when we checked in was the least helpful man ever. We asked about Valet parking which they no longer have. I then had to pull teeth to figure out where to park. Room is spacious, and very warm. Air conditioning has one setting and DOES not work. Bedding. Pillows are lumpy, sheets are scratchy. I could hear them crinkle us. For 250 a night, complete rip off.

Stayed here for a show at the Rialto Theater. It was a quick two block walk to the show. The room was a king, and was very spacious. It was also quiet given the street and river traffic out the window. The best the best thing was the bathroom. The tub was huge, great water pressure, and a lot of hot water. The stool was closed off in its own separate. We did pay $15 for early check in, as we showed up around 2:00 pm and check in is at 4:00 pm

What happened to this casino??!! It's dead up in here feels like being at a bingo hall... You guys have to do something else to bring the excitement back here once again or just shut this place down. Too big of wasted space for this cemetery they want to call a casino

The price of a 5 star hotel with the experience of a hostel. All night we could hear the next room over. No amenities, no breakfast, no pool, no coffee. Forget your toothbrush? They will sell you one for $6

Gambling is what it is...a risk you take; but at least LIVEN this place up!!! Compared to Rivers this place feels like work, not as bad as Hollywood but very close. Pump some good music through the place, get the crowd jumping, have more fiery give aways, be more creative! Joliet should be a place people from Chicago and Indiana should want to take a drive to; a fun hot spot! More winning not a repast.

Some rooms need updating (ours didn't this time), coffee pots need deep cleaning or how 'bout replacing them. Very comfortable couch and bed, we had a great night sleep. Brought beers, vodka, bloody mary mix for a great morning 😉 watching football games in our room is fun when you come prepared as we did. Our munchies include chips crackers cheese and spanish style antipasto 😋 Have fun and enjoy your stay!!

Phenomenal Management. Willy is one of the rare gems in this world. The way he handled my reservation error was accommodating when I needed it. Rochelle was also very attentive and welcoming. I couldn’t be more thrilled with my stay and the service of the staff

I enjoy the location here. It was my first time. Pizza is good. The casino floor is open in new slots. Parking free across the street. The room was nice. Spacious, and the air conditioning was super cold. Bed was comfortable as well. The best thing about my experience was the front desk supervisor, Tanya. She was absolutely a sweetheart and caring exceptional customer service. She is very knowledgeable and she was very helpful at everything. She is a rare worker these days. She should be promoted, and her skillset and passion for her job would add great value for her organization. Just the overall customer service level. I was going to 4 star rate. I'm a very honest reviewer, but my interactions with her she went above and beyond, so it's 5 stars across the board!!!! Fantastic

Very clean casino. Have stayed at the hotel a few times and the rooms are NEVER that clean. Last time there was toiletries left from the previous guests with opened coffee bags. This time, there was dried up toothpaste in the sink and hairs in the shower. Luckily we were only there for 1 night so I waited to shower when I got home to my clean shower. Don't really recommend the hotel AT ALL but the casino is great and very clean.

Dated hotel with a casino attached. Our room was nice and very open. Lots of space. I looked at past reviews to note the regular rooms were not great, so I upgraded to the premium 'river view' room. Like I stated, the room was nice. The view was OK. Yes we saw the river but we also had a great look at the pawn shop next door. Hmmmm.... We did not eat at this location. It was within walking distance to the Forge. I wasn't very happy with the service. All 4 handicapped spots were taken and we were told to park across the street. Very convenient for a handicapped with luggage.

We attended a Holiday party here for my husband's workplace get together. The Italian food was pretty good for being banquet style and at a Casino.

I didn’t stay at the hotel but I come with my boyfriend and some of my friends all the time I’m not much of a gambler but I like to go to the smoke room that they have, or sit by the bar to have a couple of drinks. The older bartender Nancy is not very nice but Jennifer is sooooooo sweet and super cute I hope next time I come back she’s here and can serve me again. Good luck everybody!!!

Heather, the casino cage supervisor was extremely rude for an issue that was not my fault. She raised her voice and was extremely hostile. The issue was not resolved after speaking with the "casino manager ". I am diamond rewards tier and regardless, I expected a better experience.

It's so sad how they treat my husband because my husband has a Defibrillator/pacemaker and was scared to go through metal detectors and told them he had no problem with them hand searching him, they refuse to let him in unless he went through the metal detectors.. I highly recommend if somebody has this kind of disability and is scared to go through metal detectors. I would go to Bally's in Chicago At least they will hand search you and treat you like a guest and not a inconvenience and tell you to leave

Slots games are of the sort found in many other nice casinos, you just need bubble craps, and another table. Crowded tables that money people can't get to helps no one.

Terrible, terrible experience. While we were sleeping in our room, we were woken up at 1am by the people who were staying next to us. They were arguing, screaming, and slamming doors continually. This continued on for almost 1.5 hours. In this time, we called down to the front desk asking for security to manage the situation. This just kept continuing and we decided at 2am that we would just go home. We couldn’t sleep with all the screaming and slamming doors. When we went down to the front desk to check out, the woman said that security didn’t get a chance to make it up to the floor to handle the situation. So we paid to stay the night in the hotel and only got to sleep for 2 hours… The staff didn’t seem to care at all. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The Reserve Steakhouse has a nice selection of appetizers and entrees. We have enjoyed everything we have had there. The casino has slots, video poker, table games.

Staff and organization is impressive! The care for this historical building is pristine and detailed! Took my Mother here to see Gordon Lightfoot who also signed her music book she had since 1968. Very fun event. My photos do not do any of it justice. Even if you do not go to an event, definitely make sure you get a tour and visit the Rialto, for it will take you back to a time where creativity was a passion and pride put into every corner a structure.

Gerald and I had the opportunity to experience a hilarious show with Matt and Kate on January 26, 2024 located at the Rialto Square Theatre 🎭 featuring comedian and Emmy award winning journalist Charlie Berens. Once you enter the theatre it does get tight. Before the show it took roughly between 15-20 minutes to purchase a refreshment. Our friend tried to purchase a shirt 👕 but couldn’t find a member of staff (this was during the show). Overall it was a great experience thank you Charlie Berens for sharing that hilarious video of your family. What a fantastic and gut wrenching show. Thank you to the staff of the Railto Square Theatre.🎭

What a wonderful place. A beautiful theater with great history. Not a bad seat in the house. Close to home. Friendly helpful staff. Clean, plenty of parking garages around. Lots of great performances. Chicago theater feel located in the suburbs. Most shows are reasonably priced. Definitely a place to visit.

I have been to two shows here, the staff is always helpful and the theater is clean. Easy access to parking garages and several restaurants within a 2 block range. The theater is beautiful at Christmas!

Gorgeous historic theater. Monthly family movies for $5 each is a terrific deal and you get to tour the place. It is achingly beautiful and has a ghost story or two!

Went to see a show on a speaking tour. This was the most beautiful theatre! The intricate details on every surface were immaculate. This facility is well cared for. The floors in the bathroom were so shiny. I could've spent hours wandering around looking at every beautiful piece in here. The seats were pretty decent. I'm a bigger lady, and I fit just fine. Come for your show, and stay for the beautiful venue!

Great historic theater. We saw Buddy Guy, and the sound in the theater was very clear. The sound, and beautiful atmosphere were my favorite things about the night. Like many old venues the concessions, and bathrooms were not enough for the sold out crowd.

We didn't get to go inside the day we visited because they had a wedding going which was fine. One day I would like to see a show in the Rialto Square Theatre. The architecture looks amazing on the inside from the pictures I saw online. It is fun to imagine the fancy dresses wore when they visited the theatre many years ago. Many famous performers have performed here. They have plenty of parking located near the theatre.

The Rialto is a great place to see your favorite entertainment! All of the seats have a great view, accoustics are amazing, architecture is mesmerizing & the staff is friendly. The seats are a bit small & legroom is limited for taller people, so we pick our seats accordingly. I love the location - easy to get to & parking is very close. It's definitely one of my favorite venues!!

As a professional Chicago wedding photographer capturing weddings for over 14 years, I was blown away by the stunning architecture of Rialto Theater in Joliet. It is a gorgeous and unique Chicago wedding venue for weddings. Yes it’s far but I truly feel that it’s worth the drive to have a wedding reception there! This place looks like a French palace and I hope that I get to come back to photograph more events here!

The theater still looks amazing. I remember coming here as a kid and still feel like one when i return. The atmosphere is captivating, and the performances are amazing. My wife and i came with friends to see dirty dancing in concert and we had a blast. The vocalists and musicians were great and it was a really fun show! Cant wait to come back again. Memories were made here for sure 😊!

Absolutely beautiful theater! Clean inside and gorgeous decoration. Very well maintained. Staff was everywhere and very helpful. Drinks and snacks are pricey as expected. We went to see the Swan Lake which was a great play but, unrelated to the theater building, it is not a custom for the valet dancers to expect applause after each dance. The whole play lost its depth because of it. Also, ballerinas should not make stomping noises while dancing. Seats are comfy inside and everything is organized. Staff is very strict on recording a play, which you should never do anyways, but they will come up to you and ask you to stop. Might even get asked to leave. Parking is not very available. There is very limited street parking and a small parking lot in front of the theater entry. There is however a parking garage right next to that parking lot with plenty of parking spots. It was free at the time we went but it does get busy to exit as all parking garages after a show anywhere. Overall good theater.

This place is stunningly beautiful. Perfect place to go for a show. Parking close and restaurants within short walk. You do need to show up approx. 2.5 hrs. early to get your choice of restaurants though because none take reservations. Made for a great night. In the end I hope they never take down or close the theatre. They do need restrooms though, Theatre seats 1900 and only has 2 restrooms with four stalls each. Loved seeing John Christ, fantastic show.

I love the Rialto. It's such a beautiful venue with easy access and parking. The seating is good, with no areas that I would say are bad. Always a fun time.

My first time actually experiencing the Rialto. Very beautiful inside. Lot areas to venture too. My complaint was it was very cold inside. The chairs are a little uncomfortable but have a nice cushion in the theatre. I would recommend for the experience.

The sound system makes every performance sounded distorted and muffled. I’ve seen three performances in the past month and each one has gotten progressively worse. I’m not sure if it’s the audio production or the speaker system, but I they absolutely know it’s problem. It’s a real shame - because it’s a beautiful venue. I’ll come back if it’s a mime show. l

3 stars because there is not any rewards for someone out of town. The reward gains are small and grow tier points slowly. They give you rewards but when you live in Central Kentucky and they send them to you in the mail it really doesn't do me any good. If they could print them for you would be much more enjoyable. Also, they just got electronic roulette but it's not been operable for all the 2 months it's been there.

Nice atmosphere no smoking inside casino. Need more games like older age can play .diamond game sizzle 7 progressive game. Fun games.more winner. Bring back the fun games. Machines tight.

They give good casino comps to me. Not sure why I get a good amount. I’m not there that often. Love the no smoking.Staff are nice.

Had a good night out! Drinks were super reasonable. I'm a roulette player by heart but craps table employees were super helpful, fun, friendly, in teaching me the game. As well as some seasoned players. Definitely will be playing again. It wasn't as busy as I remember however I attribute that to the sad times we are living in currently.

There's two levels I loved it they have a wonderful little ace to get sandwiches n different things.. also great staff. There variety on games is wonderful something for everyone and lots of table games.. they are not a 24/7 but it's a nice place if you like the sports betting you'll love it here they have the biggest screen I've ever seen in real life along with lots of others all on a designated area just for that very nice . Yeah I advise to go and have fun.

Overall I would say that we had a better experience than other reviews I've read. Although the rooms could use some updating (especially bathroom) , the room was clean and smelled fresh. Common areas were also clean. Checking in was easy with friendly staff. The prior descriptions of the breakfast were accuruate....fruit, yogurt and granola and stale pastries. The hotel is actually NOT connected to the casino, it is across the parking lot. No shuttle service since Covid so you either need to walk or drive. However, on the upside, I think the hotel is actually much quieter because of this ...which I am OK with! Bed was comfortable. Overall this was a positive experience (at least not a negative) and we would stay here again.

I have been to this casino several times the sports grill is fantastic waiters are friendly and courteous. However the security detail as of this post is lousy. They profile you and want to check your man bag. The pit bosses early want to comp you for a meal and they act racist to people of color. They increase the tables anything to make you stay unenjoyable and quick for you to lose. Terrible my parents have chosen to go to Indiana vs to deal with those conditions and you are patronizing them. Rediculoux

Table selection sucked. They don't ask what tables you want them to shut down and pretty much make you play what they want you to play. Majority spanish speaking people and was a little bit of a language barrier for me.

Had a fun time once I actually got a card to play, that said getting a card was the problem. I went to their card service counter and the blonde girl there continued drawing and not paying attention despite being the only person available at the time to help, eventually one of the other employees finished helping someone and was able to help me but that girl specifically needs to start paying attention.

Nice place to go but machines are so tight. Loose so much money 💰 just trying to geta bonus. Then when you get a bonus on the slot machine u get little money. I know the house always win. But can you loosen the machines just a little. You can get 130 spins and end up with 50 dollars. That's very little. But that's why it's called gambling. Win some, loose some

Hollywood Casino has a policy for truck parking. However, it does not provide a shuttle service to the venue. This is especially important for people who are disabled because it is approximately 0.5 miles away from the entrance. Once inside, the experience is as expected 👌. Perhaps management might consider posting a number to call if you need a ride. 🤔

We had a party at the Final Cut Steak House, very last minute. Cynthia made the arrangements for us to make it happen. Elizabeth our bartender and server was a rock star. We expected 25 and 40 people showed up. She took care of everything and everyone. It was a perfect event and it was because of these 2 wonderful ladies! Big thank you to the Chef who made AMAZING food! You all were incredible!

Not bad looking and food isn’t too expensive but the slots are terrible! They don’t payout much at all even if you bonus a lot. $250 in 30 mins and had 3 bonuses out of 15 different games and the bonuses paid less than $20 even though my bet was $1.50-5. Not good! Go to horseshoe and win better

Horrible casino. Small as heck. But parking lot is bigger times 10. I am a big spender. Casino closes at 530am. What kind of mess is that? But I should of known when there were no cars at 1am. Never again will I come here

Had a good time at the casino! It was my Sweetie's birthday. He loves playing the Buffalo machines. We always win on that one! Although we were in town for a love-one's funeral, we were able to squeeze a little extra curricula activity in! Beautiful scenary, by the way!

My partner and I had an overnight stay at this hotel and I don’t have anything negative to say about the actual hotel. It’s not brand new so for the age of the hotel it presented as expected. The people were friendly, the bed was good enough for one night, the water was hot. No reason to complain. What I will say is Hollywood/Penn Play whoever you are, needs to do better for breakfast. We paid $200 for 1 night and were given a $5 food voucher. But there are no breakfast options on property to use that voucher. Thank you for the voucher, but because your plain stale donut won’t hold up for my 4 hour drive I really wish there was a breakfast option on property. Hop House didn’t open until 11 with no breakfast or brunch options and the steak house didn’t open until 4pm. So either keep your $5 and buy granola bars or something. Or think about putting a breakfast joint on site.

Expected a lot more, but was pretty pathetic. No breakfast at all at the Hotel, had to go literally a block or two from the Hotel to the Casino, and the food prices were OUTRAGEOUS!! They advertise great amenities, but offered nothing. How the hell can you not have breakfast, or anything, in the morning for Hotel guests? Took my 90 year old Dad, made reservations for two rooms side by side, but they couldn't do it when I checked in. We were probably the only two people in the Hotel, and they couldn't put us next to each other?? Probably will never go back, wasn't what I expected, pathetic!!

Went for tow truck parade so decided to go check out the casino. What a joke! Not 1 place open for food. It's lunch time. The waitress at the bar downstairs...what a rag! Didn't want to be bothered I guess. Attitude when we asked for a soda with our shot. Told her to forget it. She is miserable!

Great casino and for a first timer, I got my money and some! Extremely huge and has large slot selection! I didn't get serviced by any hostesses and I had to fight for a bottle of water

No valet, parking is a long way from entrance, and walk to casino from building entrance is quite a distance. Wheelchairs for public use no longer available. We had a good time, but if you are not young and mobile it's a challenge.

Nice place for a trucker to park overnight. Friendly security directed me to the right area, coming here my first time. Unfortunately, no dining available at 11am on a Monday, tho the staff I spoke to was extremely apologetic. I'd have considered walking around the casino area, had I found a decent meal. This casino would do well to build out their lot to invite more truckers, have 24/7 food options, and maintain their good customer service, and they'd get more business.

I Worked for Genoa concessions during the semi final championship Motorcross. Had a great time working for them and even better time at Chicagoland Speedway. We were the most popular stand their workers really know their stuff.

We went here for a gun show and what an experience. All the vendors were great and were quite informative. It was so cool that they had it in the garages meant for Nascar! The bathrooms were spotless and it was cool to drive under the track to get in and out. The only downside is I wish the parking was a bit easier. It was kind of a far walk with a stroller to the entrance and we didn't have a choice of where we parked. But the men guiding us were good at it. I wish they had parking for people with strollers like they do for handicap.

I love this location. One of the most race welcoming platform areas in the area. Sad to see fans witness it closed to NASCAR races. Drag racing is back and in full effect rift across the street, Route 66 drag strip.

I love this track. Wish it still did IndyCar, and Nascar Trucks. Anything. The Supercross Playoffs were very cool!! Just wish Nascar would do something with it. IRP needs to either shot or get off the pot. They screwed up so much racing in the US. Wish they would go away.

GREAT TO BE BACK!!! After 4 years everything ran pretty smooth. All the people working were incredibly friendly and helpful, right down to the poor sunburned guy directing traffic and parking people in Red key parking. PLEASE KEEP THIS TRACK OPEN!!

Always a great experience! Track is well kept. Parking is good, always leave enough room to set up camp if you plan to tailgate (you should! It's part of the NASCAR experience!) Little traffic getting out but that's why you tailgate till everyone is gone! Great for the family or even better for a guys day at the race's! :-P

Motocross world championship was a great race for the first time in a long time and I am so proud of it and I am happy to have been part of it with my son👍

Drag races here are great, very family friendly and open to all the fans to have a great experience. Good place to go if your looking to have a great interactive time while watching NHRA races.

There are a lot of fun photo opportunities near the entry and throughout the museum. Nice gift shop, t-shirts are ~$25. The gift shop also has sweatshirts, baseball caps, ladies handbags, and candles. The museum has several video presentation areas, all with plenty of comfortable seating. Some interactive displays as well. There is a rooftop deck that has a music guest, and it looks like it would be summertime fun. There is a public parking garage under two blocks away for $1.00 an hour.

There's so much more here than one would ever imagine. You'll find all kinds of things here you never knew you never knew! And bonus: staff is friendly and kind and happy to help or answer questions.

On Father's day they had free admission. It is a nice place to visit it tells the history of Joliet area and the building of the canals. Has a trolley where you watch a movie about how it was used around town. It depicts men and women who came from the area and tells there story. The Blues Brothers outfits were there that was nice to see. In the gift shop they have they Blues Brothers that you can take a picture with. Had a nice time.

Cool museum that takes you an hour or so to walk around and look at everything. Lots of Joilet history.

Staffs were friendly and chatty which is so impressive, and I appreciate their help. The museum has two floors. There are so many excellent displays, and you can learn everything about Joliet from here. A little confused on parking, but they have free parking!!!! The museum was very cool on how they traveled thur the different years !!! Must go and see it, make the time !!

Small, but tons of info from space to Joliet history. There's even an outdoor terrace where you can rent for occasions.

Tickets are inexpensive. Parking is on the street and there is a lot on the east side of the street. It doesn't take long to get through and there is a lot to read. Interesting stop to learn about the history of Joliet.

Excellent museum displays. Different events held here such as music concerts and craft beer tastings. Rooftop open air venue is perfect for concerts!

What a pleasant experience go here and experience this place for yourself. I especially like the prison display the moon man. And of course, the Cadillac couch. I was there for a wedding so the place was rented out I don't know if they normally charge for entry. But whatever it is, I'm sure it's worth it.

We had my son's wedding at this venue and it was perfect! The staff are so friendly and helpful. I can't rave enough about them.

This is an interesting museum in a cool area with lots to do. The workers there were so kind! I just happened to come on a free admission day too, which was a good surprise.

I decided to do a review about the Joliet Muesuem. A lot of people are unaware of this place and all it has. There are several floors of interesting history of Joliet. A gift shop. In the basement. There is a beautiful hall you can rent for parties. On rare occasions it is free to go inside and explore. I have a membership that comes with perks. They even have roof top concerts. Come here to explore, learn and have a fun time with family. Especially during Star Wars day…

Very interesting and emotional experience. Workers are very friendly, I was able to wander around for as long as I wanted. Informative signs throughout the grounds. The prison just was granted $2 million from the state for renovations-can't wait to see how things turn out.

So, as a lover of all things old, creepy and cool. I have to say this Prison was a bit disappointing to tour. I completely understand why most of the buildings are inaccessible. About 90% of the Prison buildings are dilapidated and deemed unsafe to go inside. However, you can get into one of the cell blocks and see a small section of them. I just felt that besides the beautiful exterior and inside the prison yard, there wasn't much to really see to get a feel for what it was like on the inside. Yes, the fact that parts of the Blue Brothers was filmed there is cool, but unless you are from that era and know the movie, it's really not very exciting. I will say that the grounds are clean, the staff was nice and the price wasn't bad. I just would say that this place is a one and done for me.

Just decided on a whim to visit this place back in 2022. This place truly is haunting. I felt such a deep presence lingering around me. An amazing place for those who love the abandoned aesthetic and love a thrill. I tripped in one of the yards and felt the need to just keep it moving. Almost like something and someone was taunting me. Perhaps it could have been the wind, but I went to visit this place alone, and I was in one of the buildings, alone, and a door shut revealing a spray painted smiley face in the window of it. This place has some history, that’s for sure and some spirits that linger with it.

An amazing and wonderful experience. The fact that you can walk through and experience such an iconic place is mind boggling. The list of movies and people that have been in this place blows my mind. The cost is relatively low and the fact that they are actively trying to preserve a historic site is more than enough to attract visitors but the untouched areas and vintage feel will satisfy urban explorers. Guided and unguided tours are available. I definitely plan on returning as soon as I can.

I very much enjoyed this visit. We took the self guided tour. I'm sure the guided tour was nice also but preferred walking around on our own. There are informational signs posted everywhere. The staff was so nice and very informational about everything also. Would for sure recommend stopping by here.

Absolutely beautiful building with a vast amount of history! Was honored enough to be part of a group that got to ghost hunt Joliet at night and boy was it ACTIVE. Highly recommend a visit. Whether it's a daytime tour, or a nighttime haunt, it's well worth your time

This was on our bucket list so we took the General History Tour, we are so glad we did! There are signs everywhere for the self guided tour but you get into some of the other areas through the tour so I highly recommend it! From start to finish, our tour guide was amazing! He was so full of information and was genuinely interested in the history of the prison and all the operations of it. It didn't seem like just a job to him, he was very knowledgeable about every aspect. We toured the grounds, several of the cell blocks, two different solitary confinements, the cafeteria and the chapel. Getting to go into the areas and really feel the history made a big difference rather than just walking around. You can see into everything though so if you don't have time for a guided tour, definitely do a self guided one. The gift shop has very minimal offerings, mostly Route 66 and Blue's Brothers items but we managed to find a giant brass key souvenir to add to our collection as we tour the country!

This was a great tour to go on! I generally do not like going on tours with a group, but our host and tour guide Eli was knowledgeable and witty which made it very entertaining. The stories told were excellent at setting the ambiance. Being able to go inside some of the buildings was definitely an experience, although the air was a bit much to handle at times. Would definitely recommend!

Took a self guided tour with the family and we all enjoyed learning about the history of the prison. We were able to walk into the death row cells and see where parts of the Blues Bros movie was filmed. Plenty to see within the hour and half you get scheduled . Make sure to come on a nice day as most of the walking is outside, as you walk around from building to building. I definitely would recommend doing the tour when visiting the Chicagoland area or if you live here, as a thing to do.

My wife and I were lucky enough to accompany a tour group through old Joliet Prison guided by former guards and all around great guys Mike & Ron. The history was amazing, the stories were entertaining and informative, and the tour is truly a local Illinois gem- especially if you are a fan of the classic film "The Blues Brothers." Thank you both, we will absolutely be recommending that family and friends come down and take the tour themselves.

My wife and I were looking for something to do on a Sunday afternoon so we decided on taking a tour of the Joliet prison. We opted for a guided tour so tickets we $30 each. We bought tickets online but from the looks of it you could just show up and purchase tickets and save the $3 online fee. We had about 12 people in our group so it was pretty manageable. You enter the prison from Collins Street where Jake was getting out of prison in the movie The Blues Brothers. Tour was interesting and guide was entertaining. The main issue I had is a lot of the buildings are pretty run down. It's unfortunate it got to the condition it did before someone realized that people would pay to see this place. Still we had a good time and I am glad to see someone is trying to make something useful from this site. Hopefully they can get the money they need and restore some more of the buildings to how they were when it was operating as a prison.

Beyond enjoyed our visit!!!! Due to mobility issues we were taken via golf cart all around the grounds. Our guide was absolutely amazing. Had a grand understanding of history of location and we had the best discussions. He was kind and patient and let us take as much or as little time as we wanted. We stopped here because we had family with us from out of state and they thought this was one of the best things we did while in the area!

For the outstanding members of the community!!! The basic tour doesn't let you see the Blues Brothers cell. I was fortunate to tag along a group guided tour which visited the cell in a special tour. I recommend them to open more areas for basic tour viewing. Its still is a pretty cool place to visit.

We did a self guided tour and spent about two hours wandering around the property. All of the buildings were well marked and there were informational signs at every building with the history of each. We had a wonderful time walking through! The ladies at the front desk were super friendly, informative and helpful, as were the gentlemen at the front gate. We loved the experience!

Still beyond cool. You have total freedom to walk the entire outer areas, around all buildings and walls. Going inside depends on your tour and the time of that tour. A little damp inside the prison with standing water, so dress accordingly. Not accessible for those who need level ground. I took about 2 hours wandering the huge prison. Make sure to switch to B and W for some old school vibes. Free parking btw. Check in at the Visitor Center at the end of the parking lot (it has the only inside plumbing!)

The reason for my visit is the Prison Break series. Even just looking at the prison is a cool experience. In general, I am satisfied, but a lot of buildings have been destroyed. I so wanted to get into Michael Scofield's cell, but in this building, 2 floors have collapsed, and you can't go into the hospital either. I understand that prison closed at least 20 years ago. But it be very cool if the owners took up the reconstruction of this prison, but so that it still looked old.

Just amazing to see. You do not need to go inside to get an experience. You can feel it looking at the guard towers and entrance. I was lucky to drone it and see inside. So historic.

Great self-guided tour for a very reasonable price. Online tix show 1.5 hour timeslots but we roamed around all day and no one told us we had a time limit. They would not let us bring our photography backpacks in because we did a regular self-guided tour and not a photography tour, which needs to be scheduled separately and not during any regular tour times. For photographers, definitely worth a visit and I would go early and plan on spending at least half to 3/4 of a day because the light changes often. Lots of historical information on the plaques around the property.

This was an amazing experience that I highly recommend. Whether you are a history buff, a criminology or penology nerd, or just someone looking to do something unique, this is worth your time. I've attended a few times in a group and we have had an excellent guide each time. There is also a gift shop where you can purchase t-shirts, etc. You need to make a reservation ahead of time.
