Perfect. The pools on the right were beautiful and there was this awesome bird with a ridiculous red head and yellow wattle. It was a bit like a turkey that lives in the bush but not really. No idea what it’s called.

Hoseshoe Bay Beach is one of the very interesting places in Bowen. The beach is wild and no swimming was allowed (when we visited the beach). But the rocks look amazing. It’s a lovey location for photographers as it gives the beach & rocks. The water is blue which gives contras colour with the red rocky colour. Few locations has very high rocks which gives amazing view of the beach. The pics look amazing. It gives amazing views.

Great little beach spot. Toilets and tables are available. Great for a little picnic and swim. Huge natural rock formations surround this Bay. There's also a short walk up to the lookout. Quiet, and a great spot to just chill and enjoy the sunshine and crystal clear blue waters.

Great small sheltered Bay for a swim or snorkel, couple of interesting walk, great photo opportunities and a nice little Cafe for a cuppa. Really rate this area.

Incredible little spot! Never too busy even during school holidays. Not much parking available however we never struggled to get a spot! There is also wheelchair accessibility with a nifty ramp down onto the beach. Plenty of little hidden rock pools as well!

Lovely beach with parking area, covered picnic tables, shade trees and outdoor shower. We walked up to the lookout and what a stunning view. A must visit if you are in the area.

We stopped here for a little rest. We wish we had organize a night around this area! Neat beautiful bay recovered and maintained by the local school. There other little beaches around too and they are all great spots for a dip! Just be aware there might not be flags.

A beautiful little beach with carparking right at the beach. You should definitely walk up to the lookout it's of moderate difficulty but it's only a short walk. You will find picnic tables, water bubblers for drinking water as well as toilets with a beach shower.

Lovely relaxing area. Has a Cafe there as well. Worth visiting. Near cabin park ( no animals allowed to stay in them) probably has caravans as well too but not totally sure.

What a lovely surprise Bowen has been to us. Just stopped overnight, but didn’t realise all the beautiful safe swimming bays. We had a lovely breakfast with local fresh produce at Horseshoe Cafe on the beach. Then explored the snorkelling. Only meters away on both sides of the bay. Lots of different fish, follow the rock edge and see the coral 🪸 life. Some of the coral bright blue colour.

Cute little beach near Bowen and accessible along the esplanade footpath. Looked great but the water was choppy and full of churned up seaweed so we didn't swim. I've heard when the wind and tides cooperate the water can be beautiful.

Well been here every time we are in Australia and each time they have added things to improve. I love it her for many reasons. The reef snorkelling, the sandy beach, free car park right by the beach and a cafe . Today was much busy than expected. But still great snorkelling. Since our last visit they have mage more improvements. A ramp so all can get to the beach , toilets with changing rooms . Definitely worth a visit it’s beautiful

Beautiful beach but very minimal parking, especially considering the nearby holiday park and cafe/restaurant. There are stinger warnings, we came in spring and didn't see any, there was one family in stinger suits though, it obvs doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Sheltered little Bay, stunning clear water. Looks to have shark netting as plenty of people were swimming. Not much room to park. Some bush walking tracks.

A great vantage point to look over Horseshoe Bay. A relatively easy walk up some old concrete steps and over granite boulders to a steel mesh viewing platform. Track ‘trailhead’ is under the Rotary Park sign next to the carpark.

Absolutely amazing views from the look out , don't be deterred by the info board at the entrance , it's easy 10 mins walk from the entrance, don't miss this place if you are passing Bowen, Amazing

Great views from the lookout. Hike was a bit difficult but totally worth it when you reach the top. A must do when in horseshoe bay.

Nice walk with a beautiful view

Wonderful place, the rotary pathway is great for sport, it's 5 Km long. However, you better use sunscreen as well as insect repellent to avoid any disturbance. You may see some small lizards which are not harmful. But most important is to watch your steps. I believe the place could be dangerous for young children. If you are a family with young children you can spend wonderful time on the Horseshoe Bay or Grey's Bay.

Such a beautiful walk with stunning views! The walk is fairly easy, however some sections can be a bit slippery with the gravel over some rocks.

Short steep hike that is part of a wide network. Great trail and great views.

This lookout is great. However if you’re just going to the Rotary Lookout, don’t be deterred by the sign that says “experienced hikers” at the beginning. It’s an easy walk to the lookout, the path is clear and there are well made steps. You can continue on to other areas, I don’t know what that track is like, so use caution. It can also be a bit windy at the top!

Great views! Do wear shoes if you walk up, path is ok on flip flops, but ramp to final platform (cheese grater metal) is quite slippery to get back down again.

An absolutely stunning place. The views over horseshoe bay and Murray bay are spectacular. When the skies are clear you can even see all the way to the withsunday islands. The track up to the vote point is good and an easy walk. It takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes depending on your pace. When in Bowen you should definitely get up here and take in the view.

This middle-of-nowhere cinema was a fantastic surprise. It has the most beautiful, welcoming ambience, really comfortable theatre seats and mouthwatering, delicious popcorn. I highly recommend visiting the Bowen Summergarden Cinema. I know we'll be back again 😊

Like stepping back in time, but with top notch cinema experience! $10:entry, cash only, and great little snack bar. The owner is amazing and is a wealth of history. Love this place!

Movie quality is good, cinema 1 is the better room, may need to upgrade the Surround sound system and it would be so much better if there was 3D, was disappointed when the new avatar came out and there was no 3D. Overall good theatre just needs bit more updates, I really hope they get the new evil dead movie in.

My 2nd time going to the Summergarden Cinemas, established since 1948, where to this date the lovely man Ben De Luca will greet and farewell with you a cheeky smile. Bring your cash kids, Cash Only! Intimate little cinemas, well kept and afffordable!!!! Well worth the trip to Bowen, 1 hours drive from Airlie Beach!! The cinema has local teens working, handling peoples cash, popcorn and choc tops, very polite kids! Good to see :) we seen Guardians of the Galaxy which was a good watch!

I just watched new Top Gun at Bowen Cinema. And I LOVE IT! The ticket price is definitely sweet with their service. They sell some snack, drink, and popcorn at the front, which is really nice. Because I don’t know where I can fill me up in Bowen before the movie.I don’t live here.😂 This cinema looks small from outside, so when I walked into theater I was shocked. The space is bigger than I expected. The quality of watching was good. My partner and I had a great time there. Nice talking with the owner. He was so friendly and welcoming. He made sure everyone there having a good time. Highly recommend Bowen Cinema.👍🏽 If I live in Bowen, I am pretty sure I would come here all the time. We will come back soon.🥰

I really loved my experience here. This has got to be the coolest cinema I have stepped into ever! The lighting is fun and welcoming. The movie posters and signed posters from famous actors gives it a remarkably intimate and nostalgic feel. It is as if you connect to the people there and you can tell that the owner has put a lot of effort and time into keeping it runniing. We have been looking forward to visiting this cinema for months, so a 2 night stay in Bowen over the Christmas holiday was an excellent opportunity . Fortunately the fantastic Wonka film was on ( excellent film , beautifully done 10/10) the cinema still has that old type of nostalgia feel, excellent seating , great friendly guy welcoming you on arrival and exit. As group of 5 adults we truely enjoyed the experience, can’t wait for the next visit

Went today for the first time in over 20 years to watch Aquaman II and really enjoyed it. Staff are just as friendly as I remember. Loved the hallway full of memorabilia. I highly recommend this cinema.

When I go there it is always in a good mood there very nice people happy and a lot of people are silent when the movie is on if not he will talk to them

I've lived in Bowen all my life (on and off) and what Ben and Phil do to keep the cinema running for over 60 years is the stuff of legend's. Hell, They should make a Netflix movie about them. You cannot beat this place for a unique and utterly picturesque cinema viewing experience. From the external decor and tropical views to the classical internal features, it's a delight to enter and be immersed. Price is on point and popcorn is delicious. To really top it off, you are greeted by Ben and his wonderful short exchanges on entry and exit, he really makes your day and visit warm and special. Been many times and will be back for more!

Excellent ramp and facilities. Not to good when a Northerly wind making launching and retrieving awkward. No access on lower tides.

The Bowen Water Park, a free park, is a great place for kids 10 and under, it provides spectacular views of the beach while under cover and in some water. I see this place as an essential service to the Bowan region as it provides a place for family and small kids to relax without the scorching heat.

Beach full of trash and sharp glass, Waterpark very worn down. Lots of shadow seating and plenty of room for all.

Such a great stopover for kids on a long road trip. Very close to the ev charger. It’s getting slightly run down. Needs some maintenance. But Love it!

Great spot to picnic and have a BBQ. On a windy day it's good for kite flying. The BBQ, ablution and waste disposal facilities are excellent. The piers would be good for fishing on a still day.

Nice water park for children. Adults can have their fun too. There is a BBQ grill right next to it wich is clean and in function. I think their are no showers or toilets next to the water park but their are toilets on the coast walk. Drinking water is there everywhere around the water park. There is a swimming pool for adults and children in the same street wich is great for swimming.
