Great day out ! Great host ! Excellent finishing. Good food !
Amazing part of the world well worth booking a fishing trip
Hayman Island is a small, luxurious island located in the Whitsundays. It is famous for its high-end resort and proximity to the outer reef. The island measures only 4km by 3km and has clear waters and a beautiful beach. All activities on the island are organized by Intercontinental, which owns most of it. Apart from the various tours and hikes offered, there isn't much else to do except relax on the beach.
I would give this resort 100 stars out of 5 if I could. This resort and the whole experience you get of going to Hayman is unforgettable.
Hayman Island is a bucket list item for sure. I stayed with my boyfriend back in November last year and it was the best holiday of my LIFE. The service was amazing, food was outstanding and the activities are unforgettable. It is definitely worth the extra $$ and I hope to stay again in the future (or buy one of the estates if I win the lottery). The pool is gigantic and the front of the hotel with all of the palm trees reminded us a bit of Jurassic park.
I’m a scuba diver and I have NEVER seen coral so healthy and vibrant in my life. The reef has so much colour to it and we saw plenty of differently coloured, beautiful fish. During the sunsets, you can walk across the beach and sometimes even see baby stingrays.
I note there a couple of reviews pinning the service of the hotel etc - I can confirm that these issues have been fixed and as people who have both worked in hospitality and customer service, we were treated with stellar care.
The interior design of the rooms are stunning and extremely luxurious. Right from the start, we were met with exemplary luxury and outstanding customer service. Our transfer to the island was unforgettable - so scenic and you are spoilt by the staff with bubbles, beer and delicious food. We loved it and felt like we were in holiday mode immediately.
Almost the WHOLE hotel staff came to greet us as the yacht arrived and we felt so welcome and taken care of. Our room was spectacular. We stayed in the ocean view suites and had an incredible view of both the moon rising and sun setting. I highly recommend doing the sunset cruise, Whitehaven beach trip and the hikes (bring running shoes).
My only feedback would be to remove the cost of an activity off the waiver all the guests sign in person at the hotel prior to doing them (ie Whitehaven beach trip waiver, Jet ski tour waiver, etc). Come the time you're signing the waiver, your activity would have already been paid for and some of the guests have been taken there as a surprise or for a present, and the person paying may not want them to see how much an activity has costed.
But that's my only feedback and this is a SUPER minor thing - our stay was a amazing and I would do anything to go back.
Thank you so much Hayman for making my birthday unforgettable and I hope to be back in the future.

Third time here, they are having some staffing issues. Room didn’t get cleaned in 3 days despite asking. Half day fishing trip was great. Still a great place to come but as the resort is busier as we move out of Covid we see tue resort taking a a few short cuts.l to maximise their profits. They bill themselves as environmentally friendly but they cut off the free sparkling water taps that were available just 2 years ago and now you can only buy bottles of Antipodes sparkling or still water at $10 per bottle. So not sure how moving from free water on tap to paying $10 a bottle that comes from NZ is environmentally friendly.
Also fishing charter you used to get free soft drinks now you have to pay $10 for a bottle of water.

Great place to go too with a loved one, Wife, Husband, Girlfried, Boyfried or Partner.
Great staff on the Island all very friendly & helpful, restaurants are amazing they have 3 of them, pools are gorgeous attended by staff waiting to serve you by the pool for a cocktail or nibbles. They cater for kids now too if you have little ones.
Highly recommended to go & see the fish feeding at the Marina which is held daily, & book that fishing charter, Great Captain & deck crew that put you onto the fish, & the Chefs are happy to cook the catch later in the evening at one of the restaurants you visit for tea. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hayman as a resort is in the most stunning part of Australia. You are situated right in The Great Barrier Reef and all it's amazing beauty.
The resort is well designed with great pools, facilities and the rooms are fantastic.
For me the biggest let down was the inconsistency of the product when it came to the staff, I was left with the feeling this was a five star resort manned by back packers.
Twice in my 3 night stay we had food not delivered to our tables. I find it bizzarre that a whole table can order a meal but one person won't get their meal till the others have finished. This is absolutely not what would be expected of standard restaurant rather than an exclusive resort.
This level of inconsistency appears to be across the resort.
When we attended ,the pool was worse for wear with the vinyl pool peeling up on the bottom, and general finishes were showing their age.
Room service was amazing and better value than most of the restaurant offerings.
At this time the resort has been hit by a cyclone and it is being remodeled. I hope this may mean the resort is updated and much better condition on our next visit.

There is a lot of good to say about Hayman Island but in our case, the bad heavily
outweighs it.
My husband and I went to Hayman for our honeymoon. It is a beautiful location and hotel with friendly staff, however overall I was angered by 3 things:
1. Food quality was poor yet very very expensive
2. Being at the mercy of ‘Ocean Dynamics’ who charge you an arm and a leg for activities (and they can because there is no competition).
3. Boring activities unless you want to pay exorbitant prices for them in a ‘supervised’ arrangement.
For those who can be bothered to read on I’ve expanded on these 3 below:
1. Food quality: the breakfasts are 10/10, delicious!! As for the dinners however, they are really expensive and poor quality. I love italian food and was so excited to eat at Amici one night only to have pizza worse than what I can make at home (and I’m a terrible cook) and some kind of prawn ravioli dish that had defrosted peas poured over the top. The best food was at Bam Bam and the lunch food at Aqua. I understand food is more expensive on a remote island and I’m happy to pay more but if we’re spending >$200 a night on dinners we still expect them to be good quality (and not be paying $13 for water).
2. Being at the mercy of ‘Ocean Dynamics’ who charge you an arm and a leg for activities (and they can because there is no competition): we spent $700 to get dropped off on Whitehaven beach in the rain for two hours. We have our own boat in WA and know the fuel probably would have cost about $80 each at most, so we’re unsure what the other $270 each covered. The online guide said lunch and drinks would be provided. We were charged $24 for 2 beers. I thought maybe this is because these were alcoholic drinks but I noticed people were charged for cans of soft drink too. No idea when the lunch took place, there was no mention of lunch when we arrived at the location or after we got off the boat. Seems like it would be easy for the tour guide to include in this in the briefing before arrival “hi guys, if you hang around in the beach for 5 minutes we’ll be handing out sandwhiches”. Overall, we understand the weather is not in the control of Ocean dynamics but we felt we were absolutely fleeced spending $724 for a two hour return trip boat ride and 2 beers. After this we cancelled the other tours we had signed up for / were on the waitlist for as we didn’t want to give any more money to this group.
3. Boring activities unless you want to pay for them in a ‘supervised’ arrangement; yes you can hire catamarans, stand up paddle boards and kayaks for free but only if you stay in the allocated zone which is right out of the front of the beach up to chest-deep water. You also have to sign a waiver saying it’s your fault if you die and have to wear a mouldy life jacket which smells like a mixture of rotten eggs and vomit. It’s such a beautiful place and if you’re going to make me sign a waiver that I’m responsible for my own death why not let me paddle out and explore around the island? They cater for the lowest common denominator. If you do want to take a kayak out and explore you will have to go on a guided tour and of course be charged a high price for it…. You’ll still sign that death waiver too. Also, with regard to the catamarans, they only take them out in a specific set of circumstances; tide over 2.2m and wind between 15 and 18 knots…. How they even measure this specific wind speed I don’t know. Safe to say they don’t take them out much.
We regret our decision to go to Hayman Island. This was the first time staying at Hayman and we’ll never stay there again.
Having said all of this, the island is beautiful and has so much potential. Hopefully Hayman Island Intercontinental management can turn this around and make it the amazing place it has potential to be.
Rachel Budd — Google review
The island itself is super beautiful. It has clear water and a large beach. Because the whole island is basically owned by intercontinental, all the activities and tours etc are basically organised by them. Without the activities etc, there isn’t much to do on the island other than relax, go to the beach and also do some hikes.
Jenny — Google review
the whitest and finest and beautiful beach i've ever seen...only downside is there is no shade..so it's just you and the sun and the water. :-) not bad right? the water was salty enough that a non-swimmer like me could float and swim so easily. i love it. came to this island through a boat excursion. didn't have much time to explore around the island except at the beach for a few hours. would love to come back on our own private boat tour.
A P — Google review
Really amazing place to stay, with beautiful scenery and staff, however you have to book resturants on the island in advance and food isn't on the same level as the price, would recommend amici for food for best quality and value

Beautiful walkway with lots of things to look at and read on the way from Cannonvale beach to Airlie Lagoon. Sculptures, restaurants, yacht club, stand up paddle boarding, kayaks and tour booking places. It's around 4klm long.

It's like a rabbit warren of pretty & funky happiness! Well worth a look when in the town of Proserpine, or "Prosvegas" as it is alternatively known!.. 😀
It's also conveniently located next to the pub & an EV charging station, if needing to take time out for lunch & a quick car charge up.

This shop is a wondrous treasure trove of room upon room upon room that you could happily get lost in for many many hours. Be prepared to be cashed up as there are so many beauties you will undoubtably be leaving with a few and you won’t regret your purchases. I could’ve spent more time and even more money I’m
certain had I had the time to spare.
It has something for everyone and if you can’t find a gift for that special someone in this shop, you won’t find it anywhere.
The ladies that work there and or own it are positively lovely.
If I am ever up that way again I am beyond a doubt heading in there again and allowing more time. I swear I still didn’t see absolutely everything. The shop could have more than 5 stars in my opinion and seems to be highly popular with many.

Absolutely the best airport I have ever been to! I was blisteringly hungover going though here. Staff were super friendly, great food, impressive ceiling fans, clean toilets (great plumbing) and the giant, salt water aquarium was absolutely mesmerising! Would visit again in an instant!
Jack Razzak — Google review
-Took 45minutes for qantas to check in 8 people because 2 people had overweight bags.
-Security requested jackets off which is fine but they are not careful to keep jackets in the tray and let them get caught in their luggage X-ray belt and kept the belt running causing damage to the jacket.
-the metal scanner comes to a halt if the scanner detects the slightest metal. Instead of having that person stand aside for further inspection like every other airport, security wait for the scanner again to hope it doesn’t detect the metal again.
- massive delays at this airport
Also saw a passenger come to collect a missing back and it was beyond destroyed! Virgin did not seem interested is compensating for anything more than a cheaper bag.
The aquarium is awesome though!

Hi , your food hall only accepts cards, As l normally buy my meals at the airport I am in, l expect to be able to use my money. So not very happy, the staff at the check in and security were lovely, and also the car rental were amazing. But the cash issue is a big one for me. All the tours we used, took cash so we had a great time. Please think about your cashless food hall not everyone uses cards. Pam Ford

It's a nice airport with an awesome aquarium feature in the centre however it's much too small for the traffic it receives. It would do good in investing in some more chairs and places to sit and eat.

When I arrived from Brisbane to whitsunday coast airport the staff was very nice. When they took me of the plane and I'm in a wheelchair they took me into the building and the staff told me that's as far they can take me so I was stuck and my partner got told to go and get out luggage so I had no one to push me. A lady who came and helped me as far as she could take me was through the doors of the luggage claim that's as far as she could help because she was boarding a plane so I thanked her. So I was stuck again with no help. I'm very disappointed that there was no stuff who could help people like myself who has a disability 😔

The airport is easy to get around being a small regional airport. It was clean and organised enabling us to to get in and out quickly.
There are a couple of car rental companies on site directly opposite the baggage claim.
David Ashton — Google review
A very quirky place, in the middle of nowhere. It has an amazing salt water fish tank. No loudspeakers here, the lady just yells it out. For all that they did a great job of getting people on and off the planes.
Arthur Marshman — Google review
A pretty standard and small airport. No hot meals available to purchase (besides instant noodles), and airlines are notorious for delaying flights - so if you like to eat good food make sure to load up before you arrive. If you’re okay with snacks, there’s a great range at the captain and co convenience corner within the terminal.

A small airport but so much charm. There was a lovely person singing and playing the ukulele as we arrived. The facilities were all clean and everyone was very welcoming. This aquarium was so gorgeous you couldn't take your eyes off of it.

Whitsundays airport is a small and basic airport. There's one security gate and baggage carousel. There's limited restrooms inside the airport but a few more temporary ones set up outside. Lots of construction going on but the place was clean overall. There's lots of counters to hire cars, book transfers or tours. There's a couple of small but pricey shops for snacks and an ATM just before you exit the airport.
Hill Inlet is a narrow and picturesque inlet surrounded by beaches and the Whitsunday Islands National Park. It offers high-quality snorkeling and diving experiences comparable to some of the top spots in the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Day tours departing from Hamilton Island often include visits to Hill Inlet due to its excellent visibility and diverse marine life.
A must-see in a lifetime, your experience and memories will vary depending on which season you'll go. The winter months are usually the driest and will provide a better clarity for your photos. There are many ways to access the island. Please preserve the environment for the enjoyment of future generations.

Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet- OMG!! Ahhh mazing 🍃🏝 Named as the second best beach IN THE WORLD and Australia’s third most photographed location! And it’s easy to see why!!!
I didn’t think water this clear existed or sand this soft and cool could be real 💖 Did you know that the sand on Whitehaven never exceeds more than 26degrees! Even on the hottest of days!!!
The ever changing swirl of colours seen from Hill Inlet are amazing and as the tide changes the blues change too!! It’s easy to see why so many people make sure this place is on their bucket lists!! 💦🏝☀️ A big thanks to the guys from Ocean Rafting for making our day so memorable 💖

An amazing lookout point. Hill Inlet in the Whitsundays is located at the northern end of Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. As the tide shifts, the white sand and blue hues of the inlet blend to create swirly patterns which look beautiful. We arrived via boat and walked uphill ~15mins to the lookout. We took lots of photos and then walked back to the boat. Best to go at low tide to see the swirly patterns.

Absolutely spectacular, best beach views I've ever seen!
Whitehaven Beach, located on Whitsunday Island, is a stunning 7-kilometer stretch of pristine silica sand and turquoise waters. It's often considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia and even the world. The beach features small coves, lagoons, and inlets along its expanse, offering picturesque views and exploration opportunities. With its pure white silica sand and clear turquoise waters, Whitehaven Beach has been voted as Australia's most beautiful beach multiple times.
Whitehaven Beach is named as the best beaches in the world (By TripAdvisor in Year 2021). This is third most visited place in Australia.
The beach has very soft white sand which is very good for our skin. We had been instructed not to carry this sand back home.
The beach has crystal clear water.
Unfortunately NO FOOD or DRINKING WATER is available at the beach. Make sure bring your own food or pre-order with your tour.
Visit of this beach was an amazing experience.

A very impressive location.
You feel you are in a special place.
Beautiful beach, lovely blue water, white sand.. A delight to swim at or to stroll along the beach.
It can get crowded at times, so be prepared for that. If you want secluded beach, probably best to go a a private boat trip to another beach location on one of the islands.
The boat trip there and back is well worth it.

Whitehaven Beach can be said to be one of the must-see attractions in the Whitsunday Islands. You can buy packages from local tours or buy tickets for the ship transferring you to it, and there are half-day trips and one-day trips for you to choose from. The one-day itinerary includes a short walk directly to the Hill Inlet lookout, which I personally think is a must. As for Whitehaven Beach itself, it is a place suitable for engaging in various sea activities (stand-up paddle, swimming) or simply enjoying the sun on the beach which many people do so. Also, if you like hiking, there is also a lookout there, but please don’t confuse it with the Hill Inlet Lookout. Furthermore, because of the characteristics of white sand, it does not absorb heat, and the particles are very fine, just like powder, therefore, it is a great pleasure to walk on it.

It's a very pretty beach, but honestly, it's not absolutely extraordinary. Plus, I find it annoying to have to swim in a wetsuit because dangerous jellyfish inhabit these waters. However, the setting is still very nice, and something I didn't know is that it's possible to camp for a night with a tent on the island. There are also several hiking trails.

Most amazing beach in the world, beautiful white sand that doesn't get hot under foot!! Might sound unbelievable but it's true!!

I get asked a lot why Whitehaven Beach is so special … the sand is one of highlights but for me it’s travelling on a boat 35km from the mainland to an uninhabited island with a 7km long beach that is never crowded. Love spending time here ❤️

Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays, Australia, is a pristine paradise that captivates with its breathtaking beauty. The beach's powdery, pure-white silica sand stretches for seven kilometers, creating a stunning contrast against the azure waters of the Coral Sea. The swirling patterns in the sand are not only visually mesmerizing but also cool to the touch, making it a unique and memorable experience.
The beach is accessible by boat or seaplane, enhancing the sense of exclusivity. Hill Inlet, where the tide creates a stunning fusion of colors as the water meets the sand, is a must-see marvel that adds to the overall allure of Whitehaven. The surrounding lush greenery and the Whitsunday Islands' iconic turquoise waters complete the postcard-perfect scene.
Whitehaven Beach offers more than just a picturesque setting; it provides an escape into tranquility and natural wonder. The eco-friendly management ensures the preservation of this pristine environment. Whether strolling along the shoreline, swimming in the crystal-clear waters, or simply basking in the sun, Whitehaven Beach is a quintessential destination for those seeking serenity amidst nature's grandeur. It stands as a testament to Australia's natural beauty, leaving visitors with indelible memories of a truly idyllic escape.

Look it is very pretty however it is hyped up a lot more than what it’s worth. This beach shares the same state as K’gari (Fraser) island and Moreton island and as a Queenslander who has spent a lot of time at both it really does not compare to them. Glad we ticked it off our bucket list but prob won’t return as it really isn’t anything special to write home about.

Thanks to the Queensland government for preserving its environment and protecting its coastline. This beach remains untouched by human impact. The location is only accessible by boat or by air, making it truly exceptional.

Whitsundays QLD, Australia
I'll never travel to Rockhampton without this trip planner again

It is one of the best spots of the world. Really enjoyed beautiful, unique beach.
Saqib Khan — Google review
It's a very pretty beach, but honestly, it's not absolutely extraordinary. Plus, I find it annoying to have to swim in a wetsuit because dangerous jellyfish inhabit these waters. However, the setting is still very nice, and something I didn't know is that it's possible to camp for a night with a tent on the island. There are also several hiking trails.

The best part of our trip to the Whitsundays!
We booked a tour with Ocean Rafting and had awesome tour guides who took us on a day trip exploring Whitehaven beach and the surrounding islands. 10/10 recommend for anyone visiting the Whitsundays!

Regularly voted as one of the most picturesque beaches in the world. Whitehaven beach has stunning white sand contrasting the vivid, crystal clear water. The beach stretches for a wide arch. This remote location means there are few crowds. Highly recommend visiting this beach, by sea or by air.

*ABOUT:- Whitehaven Beach is on Whitsunday Island, Australia. The island is accessible by boat, seaplane & helicopter from Airlie Beach, as well as Hamilton Island. It lies across from Stockyard Beach, better known as Chalkie's Beach, on Haslewood Island.
*Famous for :- its silky smooth white sand and crystal clear turquoise water, Whitehaven Beach is on the bucket lists of travellers worldwide with thousands making the journey each year. Despite the number of visitors, the iconic pure white sand found only on Whitehaven Beach and the surrounding landscape remains pristine.

Most amazing beach in the world, beautiful white sand that doesn't get hot under foot!! Might sound unbelievable but it's true!!
We go every time we are on Hamilton Island or nearby. And just across from the south end of Whitehaven is Chalkies beach, which has some pretty good snorkelling.

I get asked a lot why Whitehaven Beach is so special … the sand is one of highlights but for me it’s travelling on a boat 35km from the mainland to an uninhabited island with a 7km long beach that is never crowded. Love spending time here ❤️

Words cannot express how beautiful this place is, it’s the meaning of paradise.
Simon G — Google review

Hamilton Island Marina
Marina
Nature & Parks
Boat storage facility
The busiest part of the island as the main business district is along this street. Cafes, restaurants, the bakery, real estate, art gallery, chemist and water activities are all in this precinct. Undercover seating is available but watch out for the local birds who aren't shy in stealing your food off the table. Lots of yachts and boats are docked here too and the different arms are easily accessible to walk out on for a closer look at those vessels docked.

World class marina, and world class service.
Grocery and restaurants, all steps from the marina.
Marina staff were helpful and the manager was very accomodating to our needs when we had a special request.
The whole island is cashless, so have your card handy.
Watch out as the prices for staying at the marina are high, but that's to be expected in such an amazing iconic and unique place such as the Whitsundays.

Great place to visit. We called up on 68 and were escorted to our berth. Water and power were hooked up and we hit the island. Facilities include: Floating docks, water, power, rubbish disposal, boat lifting and more.

Archie is a great operator and was very helpful as we moored our bareboat. He deserves 5 stars. It was disappointing that considering the mooring fees that we had to spend so much time troubleshooting power feed issue. So many pedestals didn't work. Marina facilities were otherwise fine. Power issue was a pain though.

An incredible island. Scooting around on golf buggies is loads of fun, and there is lots to do on the island to keep you occupied other than just taking in the amazing view. A must see.

Gets very busy around lunch time. Tavern, fish and chips and bakery open. Best to download the Hamilton Island app to see what's open and trading times. Not all cruises and water activities and some restaurants are operating.

Stayed in the marina on our hire boat. IGA is extremely well stocked and well priced. Bakery had nice bread and cakes, wraps and rolls, sausage rolls and pies weren't to our taste. Closes at 2pm so get in early. Best coffee was at the pizza and gelato place. Free shuttle bus to take you around the island.
Chris tully — Google review
We stayed overnight on the boat .Archie was there to help us to our mooring. He was friendly and helpful he went above and beyond to help my injured husband .Archie got him crutches from the dr and then drove him to the dr appointment and then he gave us his private number and told us to call him when we needed to go back to the boat .Nothing was to much trouble for him ,he has only been at the island for 5 months. He would be a asset to any business and he was only early 20s .
Wendy Pilling — Google review
What's not to love. Not too crowded but still a bit of a vibe. From the bakery to the yacht club there is a price point for everyone to get a meal. Or self cater from the IGA. Departure point for all cruises and ferries.Pleasantly not crowded with the typical brand names. No McDonalds and no Prada either. Hang out at the many picnic tables or have a champagne at the yacht club and enjoy the views.

Wonderful colours and lots of movement with yachts and cruisers coming and going. Lots of fish to be seen also.
Hamilton Island Wildlife Park offers guided tours of simulated natural habitats where you can encounter and learn about native Australian wildlife such as koalas, kangaroos, dingos, and pythons. The park also provides a unique dining experience with its Koala Breakfast buffet that features eggs made to order along with classic breakfast items like pancakes, bacon, and toast. Guests are allowed to interact with the resident koalas while enjoying their meal and even take home a photo souvenir.
A great place where you can see some native animals of Hamilton Island. We always stop by here when we are on holiday in Hamilton Island. It's right in the middle of the main town and the beach area so it's super easy to get too. Just a walking distance from the main hotels and has parking for your buggy if you got one. Staff are always super friendly and are happy to answer any questions about the animals during your visit.
Dominic Naimo — Google review
Although very small, the animals are nevertheless interesting and I like how the enclosures aren't huge that you never see the animals because they're always hiding in the back somewhere. With that said, there's enough space for the animals to live happy lives it seems. Can't really be compared to the big zoos and wildlife parks, but still nice to visit. Plus apparently when you buy a ticket, it'll allow you access for the entire duration of your visit.
Hai Nguyen — Google review
Loved the experience of having a coffee with animals. The coffee is the best on island, service happy and efficient. I would recommend here on your next visit.
Faith Simon — Google review
Best place to get good coffee on the island! Friendly staff. Gift shop with some cute items. Few animals on the grounds, good for little kids and tourists wanting a close-up with koalas.
Jessica Southerwood — Google review
The cafe is great and very well priced. Always in the company of 2 koalas and other Australian wildlife. To see more, go enter the sanctuary (tickets can be bought at the cafe and you can keep coming back any time during your trip). It's small but very cute. Joined one of the feeding sessions in the afternoon, guided by Emma, which was great. Very informative and fun.

Not a lot of animals but it’s enough. Especially looking at McCulloch the crocodile. Could watch him all day. We had photos taken with Scar the snake and my 3 old felt totally safe and was smiling ear to ear he absolutely loved it. The ladies who helped us with Scar were very thorough with their safety instructions as well as ensuring we were having a great time.
Service upon entry is great. The layout is easy to navigate and safe. Would highly recommend getting up close and personal with the animals especially the dingo as they were always hiding far away from the walking path.
Overall enjoyable and worth a visit
Maha — Google review
We had a photo experience with a koala bear. Trainer/photographer was very knowledgeable. A great thing for the kids to get up close to a koala.
Paul Liddard — Google review
We did the dingo encounter. Video attached. It went for just under one minute and was really just about having a photo taken.
It's lovely that people can walk off the street to go into the cafe for free where there are two koalas and three little dragons.
Our entry ticket allowed us unlimited entry to the park for our entire trip.
The park is teeny tiny. It's a short boardwalk loop with four koalas, two pairs of parrots, several dingos, a cassowary, a very large crocodile, a small crocodile in with three nervous turtles, a variety of wallabies and kangaroos, several snakes and one tree frog.
The website mentions a lunch menu but that is no longer the case. It's a small cafe where you can order a variety of drinks and snacks from the display cabinets.
Jodie Foreman — Google review
The Koala encounter was a delight and being able to view and pet them was a bonus. Drinks and breakfast options are plentiful and delicious. On the other hand, the wildlife zoo is way too small for the price although it was tidy and well taken care of. The koala pictures are great memories and a must do for any visitor!

Visited Hamilton Island as a rest break from weeks of travel.
Flight good, airport small but well organised. Island is small and accessible by walking, they try and push you to use golf buggies-savd yourself the £70 per day plus make use of the small "green"bus when it rains or when you have kids.
Beware that it's mostly cash free on the Island and food can be limited with a number of the restaurants catering to the fancy end. saying that there are carryout shops and a supermarket for the fussy eaters ofvthus world.
Stayed at the Reef view hotel, its a mix of families and couples- found that hard at breakfast time, more like a school canteen.
Beach is great , watch out for jellyfish.
It's a beach holiday resort in a beautiful part of a beautiful state.
Enjoy.
Alexander Finney — Google review
Great place to spend an hour or so with the kids. If you can, do go for the up close experiences. This is not a huge exhibit by any means, however, it is very charming and pleasant. The quaint cafe with the koalas is just the spot to relax and have a drink or two. Highly recommended for younger kids.

Lovely little Cafe and wildlife center where you can get up close to some Koloa. They have some reasonably priced snacks and beverages.
Melissa Previte — Google review
Surprising amount of interesting animals here at Hamilton Island Wildlife. Small but the displays are set up well so there's lots to hold your attention. There are additions to the entry making it possible to touch a koala or feed the parots. Lots of staff, however, the line to pay for entry or lunch gets pretty long.
Derek Rylah — Google review
tons of australian animals, a great spot to visit if Hamilton Island or Airlie Beach is your only experience of Australian wildlife. Cafe is kept nicely and staff are always patient and kind. Zoo facilities are easy to navigate and somewhat informative!
Vivian Lipovski — Google review
I wasn't sure if I wanted to write this review, but I felt compelled to advocate for the animals here. Firstly, the staff here is wonderful and genuinely care about the visitors. The issue is that many animals are kept in small enclosures. There is a croc who used to live in a pond but was captured and now is kept in a tiny enclosure. He is the last one on the island and it's no way to live. There are also cockatoos that are kept in enclosures, when instead they could be out roaming the island with the other cockatoos. Many of the animals here deserve a better quality of life. We all could do better caring for the animals while still allowing them to be wild and free. Sending love and light!
Holly Wood — Google review
Fantastic! Good for all ages. You can attend twice in one day to see both tours (morning and afternoon tours are different), as long as you show them your ticket again.
Great information shared on the tours, and a fun way to see the animals interact.
Worth the price.
Cafe on site makes it easy to spend more ti.e there.
Staff were very friendly!
Catseye Beach is a stunning palm-lined strip located in a shallow bay, offering various water sports rentals and snorkeling opportunities at an offshore reef. The beach is known for its beautiful soft sand and bright blue waters, making it perfect for activities like paddle boarding, canoeing, and snorkeling. Guests staying at select hotels can enjoy complimentary access to these amenities.
The activities at cats eye are so good. $20-$50 for catamarans, paddle boards, snorkelling, all super reasonable.
Easy buggy access and a pool and bar right by the beach.
Water was super warm, clean and flat too :)

Catseye Beach on Hamilton Island is a tropical gem that offers a serene and idyllic escape. Its crystal-clear waters and soft, sandy shores make it an ideal spot for swimming, sunbathing, and simply relaxing. The beach is beautifully maintained, with free lounging areas that enhance the experience. For the adventurous, there's a variety of water sports available, from snorkeling to paddleboarding, where you can explore the vibrant marine life just off the shore. The surrounding scenery is picturesque, creating a perfect backdrop for a memorable vacation. Catseye Beach is truly a slice of paradise, making every visit feel special and every moment cherished.

This beach is beautiful, high tide is great for floating around, kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkelling no waves so great for kids. Low tide moves around 2 metres of water you can walk out a fare way. Lots of beach lounges to sit in the shade and there’s takeaway food just a minute walk.
If you are staying at the main hotels all beach equipment is included in your stay, show them your room card and write your name down.

Fantastic beach to spend the day on. I visited in early May and there was plenty of space to relax on the beach. There are rental facilities of watersports (paddleboard, boats etc) however check in advance for low tide as they do not rent during those periods.

Absolutely gorgeous beach. Beautiful soft sand and bright blue water. The Bay stays relatively flat and is perfect for water activities. You can pay to use paddle boards, canoes, snorkels etc. If you stay at Reef View (maybe some other hotels, I am not sure which ones), then it's complimentary. The Pool Bar is nearby, so you can enjoy a cocktail or mocktail while you sun-bake. The beach is quite long, so there is plenty of space for everyone. There are also some tables, chairs and umbrellas.

Agree with the other reviewers, this is a beautiful little beach. Warm water, nice sand and sailing or snorkeling options just off shore. You will need to check with tides and wind conditions as this does affect how clear the water is. A lot of beach options available including just sitting there and enjoying.
Zeglar “Zeg” Fergus — Google review
Had a wonderful time snorkelling off the Beach here. I had expected to see just a few fish, but the further I went out the more brightly coloured fish I saw. Also saw a huge Turtle. I recommend going before low tide as the water is quite shallow, that way you have more water to swim around in. Don't go if its windy and the sea is swelling as the visibility is affected.

Great swimming spot right in front of the swimming pool. Also can snorkel from this spot (the Hamilton reef.)

Straight across from the resorts, plenty of water activities on high tide, snorkeling on low tide, coral, sea life and turtle tours. Bring the underwater camera/go pro.Pool bar close by or bring your own snacks and drinks. Plenty of chairs and shade.

Lots of reef sharks, stingrays, and a turtle can spit them even if you're put of the water.
Clean beach, can be pebbly at the shoreline, but finer sand as you go further, then gets into coral floor.

Beautiful place to spend some time if you're on Hamilton Island. Beach is nice, but watch the rocks in the water. Stubbed toes were a regular occurrence. Lots of water sports on offer, but as with most things on Hammo, you pay a premium price to use them and they stop hiring once the tide drops to low
Excellent spot to visit around 70/80 mins from Mackay. Take your swim cloths for diving @Araluen Cascade spot which is 25 mins medium grade rainforest walk. Also don’t miss Callistemon Crossing 10 mins walk from Araluen Cascades. Don’t forget your water bottles and towels with you.
I would recommend this spot for excellent view of falls and rain forest. You don’t need 4wd to go there though during heavy rain road might close due to flood. You might cross some George.

Absolutely beautiful spot waterfall and swimming holes. About a 20min easy walk in go left at the intersection unless you want to do the big walk 👍
Malanda4 Malcolm N Amanda — Google review
Amazing place.
Went there in late October during the week.
There are toilets at the start of the walk.
If you intend to go there while it’s raining, don’t. Wait a day or two.
Recommend good walking shoes if you intend to head to the top waterfall, “Wheel of fire”. (For those who take things literally, it’s not a wheel of fire 😂). The walk is challenging for those who feel stairs are their arc nemesis’.
Take some water, especially if it’s a hot day.
Take a towel. You will want to get in.
Wear a hat. Especially if you sizzle in the sun like I do.
Only take those who are willing to walk.
NOT recommended for princesses (all kinds), as the noise spoils it for the trees and they die (this has not been proven by any scientific studies).
Allow around 2-3hrs+ of enjoyment.

A couple of great deep swimming holes to choose from. Araluen Cascades is the easiest to get to. Wheel of Fire is further along and involve a rock hop at Callistemon Crossing of Finch Hatton Creek

We did an afternoon track of Wheel of Fire track at Finch Hatton Gorge, the week after New Years. Nope it is not an easy track up, up and up. But worth it. We left the car park around 1:30pm and by 2:30pm we had the area for ourselves. Advice take lots of water drink on the way, wear walking shoes not thongs and go in the afternoon, will be less people there. And not advisable for young kids to the Wheel of Fire.

It was a magnificent place to test stamina but was well worth the hard work. The first swimming area is quite easy and absolutely stunning, and even if you stop at this point, you can bathe in the beauty, for swimming under a small waterfall and have an amazing time. But if you are game, the walk continues to another swimming hole. This is a bit more taxing and does require some agility and fitness it is mostly uphill either by stairs or path. You have to cross a creek also with large rocks you will need to navigate. Good walking shoes will minimise ankle twists. If you hurt yourself it is a long way for help. I am not the fittest but did it all the same.
Be warned at either swimming hole the water was ice cold but i was there in September so may be not so bad throught hotter months.
A must must see and walk.

Such a beautiful walk and then even better swim! Disappointed to see so many idiots disregarding the safety of “do not jump
off rocks” signage though. Many people have been injured or died from doing stupid stunts like that. Especially if it happens right in front of everyone (including young kids) and then expect that everyone will run to their rescue. 🤬

Such a beautiful walk through the rainforest. The path is well kept and an easy walk to the lower waterfall. The walk up to the Wheel of Fire is more challenging with a rock-hopping crossing and quite a lot of stairs. The walk up to the top is definitely worth it with stunning views of the gorge.

Such a beautiful spot. Walking trails for all abilities. Even spotted a platypus!

June 2023. Finch Hatton Gorge was a lovely place to visit. 2 waterfalls to see. One is an easy walk. The other involves a rock scramble named Callistemon Crossing and many steps. The rock scramble was a challenge, I couldn't cross without traversing through the cold water on slippery surfaces. Lesser of 2 evils - less treacherous for me than trying to step from 1 rock to another across large gaps, onto uneven/slippery surfaces. Many could and did, so it's up to the individual. If you don't mind steps, it's pretty plain sailing, once past the rock crossing. You can swim in both pools if you desire. Some did but said it was very cold. Didn't stay in for long.

Lovely area. We saw a platypus at the furtherest viewing platform on the right hand side of the track.

It's a unique diving experience in a beautiful place and definitely worth trying once in your life. The course before diving is very knowledgeable for knowing more creatures in the rainforest. The instructor, Luana, is amiable and caring. I would like to recommend friends to come.

I had a wonderful dive. It was my first time for a fresh water- it was very cold but the 7mm wet suit helped with that and visibility was pretty good too. I got to see three different turtles including a baby and I saw a shrimp and also an eel tailed cat fish which look interesting. The owner of the company isn very welcoming and kind and even gave me a very welcomed tea to warm up afterwards. 100% recommend this experience.
Natalie Gruhl — Google review
Unfortunately didn't see a platypus but that's nature, but really enjoyed it! If you love diving and can respect and appreciate the small things then it's a must do! Lunna was lovely, really Great guild picked me up and dropped me to mackay. Gave all the relevant information and more! Also got to pet a huge bull and see a brown snake on the way was a great bonus.
MUST DO! THANKS 😊

A couple of hours ago, we were diving in the river in eungella ! What a great moment ! The owner and Julian gave us many informations about the platypus and the animals we saw! They were both very friendly and had big knowledge. Even if we havent seen the platypus, we saw so much in this river! Its unusual to dive only 2m deep but its interesting to discover this environment ! I recommand 100% P.s sorry for my english
Sebastien Cellier — Google review
Dived in 2020, please do not book if you are expecting platypus as this understandably cannot be guaranteed. There is not much to see unless you are into creek diving...

I went there yesterday and had an amazing time! Would recommend this to anybody who would love a unique underwater experience.
Dive briefing was excellent and the owner is super friendly! This stop should be on everybody’s list. 10/10 🙂

Interesting dive, visability a bit low, saw fish, turtles cold though. Very different experience.
Sprawling natural area with wildlife including wallabies, plus hiking, picnics, fishing & camping.
Absolutely beautiful beach/ lookout walk…
Lovely sunrise…
I’m really glad I didn’t miss this on the way up the coast

Didn’t arrive early enough for the kangaroos. Next time!
It is still such a magical place with many walks/trails, all offering their unique angles and stunning views of the coastline. As others have said, bring your mozzie repellant!

This place is amazing to go see the kangaroos at dawn!
Just becarful doing the long hike as we didn't know the tide was in and we got to the end and had to walk all the way back!

We stayed at Smalley's Beach for one night but it was so lovely you could easily stay a while. Only toilets available, no showers. Very spacious campsites and ours had a picnic table and path down to the beach. Beautiful view through the trees and we sat down on the sand to eat dinner and watch the tide rise. A really relaxing evening and we even spotted an echidna!

What a beautiful place. Loads of natural beauty. We didn't coordinate our tidal times so was unable to walk to island so check. There is a shop at the caravan park and toilets nearby.

Stunning location with beautiful blue waters. We timed our visit for low tide so we could walk across the causeway to Wedge Island. Easy parking just outside the tourist park to access the starting point.

Nice place to visit & stay over night to watch an epic sunrise.
Pity Parks & Wildlife have removed the showers in the toilet block. You can't wash the sand off before you get back into your car.

I have been in Mackay for 40 years and never experienced the dawn "show" with the kangaroos. It was an absolutely amazing opportunity to be in so much beauty and perfection. Seeing the kangaroos then go down to the water's edge was magical. Remember your bug spray as the sandflies are intense, they may drive you away when the serenity in staying is worth it!
Kimberly Doyle — Google review
Definitely worth a visit. Watching the sunrise in the morning and then doing the hike to andrew's point is gonna get you some amazing views.
lufixx — Google review
Great walk, quite steep but good once you get to the top.
If you keep going and don't stop it is about a 45kin walk to Turtle Lookout and Back.
Beautiful on a clear day, heaps of Turtles and sea life.
People at the shop are great too👍

Beautifull national park! You can do some small hikes here. Did the andrews point and boardwalk trails. A must do when visiting, is setting your alarm at 5am to watch kangaroos and wallabies eat at the beach. This will bring you some nice pictures with the sunrise in the background! Campsite is also okay. We combined all this, and it was perfect for a quick in-and-out visit of Cape Hillsborough!
Matthias Peeters — Google review
Simply a gorgeous place to visit. It's got to be on your must-see place in the Mackay area! Awesome anytime, but sunrise on the beach is fantastic 🌅

Had two fantastic days in the cabins at Cape Hillsborough. We enjoyed all the animals, from parrots to kangaroos roaming the campground. Recommend a stay here to everyone.
We would like to especially thank Joseph and Linda for their help in arranging transportation back home. Without them this would not have been possible. So grateful!

Melba House is open by volunteers. The actual house is an absolute delight to visit. Dame Nellie Melba was certainly a true Australian icon, and by seeing where she grew up is very unique. The videos and artifacts from that era are something for all generations to see.
However, the visitor center connected to the Melba House is a dismal disappointment, should you wish to have a coffee or a bite to eat you can't get anything from 12:30 onwards.... So take a thermos a packed lunch or drive a little further down the road to be ripped off by exorbitant prices for food.

It's so fun! I went with my two friends (24 yo and 27 yo) and we had a lot of fun. It's true that it's all mainly kids, but it was not crowded and adults can have fun there as well. The staff is really nice and you can have a drink at the bar later. It is very tiring, 1h sounds like not a lot but at the end you're actually exhausted, so 1h is actually perfect.

At a lake in nearby Andergrove, Wakehouse operates a cable for wakeboarding but also has an enormous, fun-packed inflatable course floating in the water.
In 50-minute sessions, this is available to children as young as four and has long walkways, slides and all sorts of tricky obstacles to climb.
One of the best bits is the giant water blob, propelling people several metres into the air.
Wakehouse also runs a restaurant making tacos, pizza, breakfast dishes and sweet treats.

Bluewater Lagoon is a water park in Mackay that offers free admission and a range of exciting water features for visitors to enjoy. Among these are various pools, slides, and splash zones designed for kids. The park is staffed by attentive lifeguards who ensure safety throughout the facility. In addition to the water attractions, Bluewater Lagoon also boasts a cafe serving refreshments and showers for guests to use.
Parking is difficult but with a large shopping centre just across the road a short walk is easy.
Very popular place, if you need a BBQ arrive early to claim a spot.
Clean facilities, lifeguards on duty, shady on grass seating. Splash pad for littlies. I think there's a cafe but I didn't use it.
Free entry.

Wow, even better than I could have imagined. The absolute perfect place to cool off from the Mackay sun! Free entry, large lagoon with awesome slide for kids that provides hours of fun. Smaller splash pad adjacent to lagoon with a third water area at the top of the slide. Lifeguards everywhere so it is well monitored. The cafe is good but could do with having a bit more variety. Has great shaded area although with the sun and heat they probably could do with more. That aside this place is two thumbs up from me.

My partner and I lived in Mackay about 10 years ago and one of the best memories we have is frequenting the Blue Lagoon. We still remember beautiful, long days by the pool there. With a very warm welcome water temperature of 20.3°, the is the best place to come and relax, or bring the kids and let the have some fun. And the best thing is that it's FREE. The water is clean and the grounds are well maintained. We went and spent a couple hours in the water just paddling around and relaxing in the shallow waters. We didn't bring the kids this time but these is heaps there for them to do.

Came here for breakfast a while ago and loved it... So, this time I thought I would give lunch a whirl.
So glad I did.
Amazing atmosphere and lovely food.
Good serving size at a reasonable price.
Today was Pear and Bacon salad, and their Club Sandwich (chicken, Bacon, avocado etc).

Whilst being a tranquil walk, garden maintenance seems rather lacking in all areas.A large range of plants appear to never be trimmed back to be the best they can be😪🤔.
Under wowing 🍂🍁🌲🪴
We came across one brown snake about half a meter long heading towards our walkway.By doing human stampeding on the pavement the snake turned back into the shrubs😬
Id advise visitors to PAY ATTENTION TO SNAKE Notices🪱 it's not a joke. Seeing familied visiting and their kids running in between the shrubs where dried leaves are not cleaned away is dangerous 🪱
Parents get off your📲 phones, its an outing and your safety is YOUR responsibility, be present in the moment 👋

Despite the hot day, the tour was excellent. Big umbrellas provided to help with portable shade as we saw the the outside exhibits.
Informative and entertaining, a walk through historical innovations of the machinery made or modified for the harvest and cultivation was also fascinating.
The sugar processing was interesting too, have cooked and baked from basics for over 40 years and still learned more to help with future sugar choices.
Loved it!
The taste test area was terrific, all locally made products from the marmalade to the liqueurs and a definite encouragement to take some home.
Highly recommended tour run by fantastic knowledgeable locals.
The cafe was a hit as well, great coffee with a side of scone, cream and jam before our tour served with a warm welcome and genuine smile.

Even if I think it’s a bit too expensive, the experience was very nice. Very interactive and entertaining, even for kids (not only because they get to test fairy floss at the end;). Our tour guide was very friendly, funny and didn’t rush through the things (we could take time to look at the machinery by ourselves) - even if the sugar-process is not shown in ,live, you get to see the machinery used and the guide explains everything step-by-step.

My father-in-law bought us tickets to the 60min Sugar Shed Tour while we were visiting. It was very cool to learn about the sugar mill and the processes involved in making that addictive substance. Great very informative actual demonstration of how the juice etc is extracted and then an explanation of the process to make molasses and then onto different kinds of sugar. They even use the molasses to make Vegemite. Plus on the flip side nothing is wasted every scrap of the sugar cane is reused to power the plant and then for fertiliser and feeding the animals. Well worth the tour and the liquers they make on-site are ve.ry nice

This whole area is so beautiful shame it's so popular now, some days it's standing room only. Take the aerogaurd the mozzies are bloody hungry, the swimming holes and bush walks are just beautiful, crystal water surrounded by pine and rainforest, while swimming you'll see fish, eels and turtles just be careful of the bullrouts it's a fresh water stone fish. When walking the tracks always be snake smart in the Queensland bush. The camping area is nice big enough sites can get crowded to book early.

Capricorn Caves is a well-liked destination that features an intricate network of underground limestone caverns, including a natural cathedral. The site is located 24km north of Rockhampton near the town of Caves and offers visitors a unique auditory and visual experience. A popular one-hour tour involves listening to classical music while admiring cave coral, stalactites, fig-tree roots, and possibly spotting insectivorous bats.
Stayed overnight at the nice campground and did the Explorer Tour the next morning. Everyone had lots of fun, including the children and teenagers. The tour guide was knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic. We saw an owl and bats. The caves were interesting and the tour just difficult enough to really be exciting for the kids and teens. Winding through sometimes narrow and sometimes low passages, the Explorer Tour was tricky for the grown-ups but well worth it.

We did the Cathedral tour and it was well worth the visit. The information on the history and the animals in the reception area was very informative. The tour was excellent well worth the cost. We had such an epic experience with Capricorn Caves. Our Adventure Tour Guide Hudson was so supportive, encouraging and knowledgeable about the caves. We were very nervous after looking at the first tunnel & Hudson explained to us exactly what to expect - we were still nervous but she made us believe we could do it. There was no fuss if a tunnel was too small, an alternative was offered. I'm so happy we got to experience the beauty & fun of the caves. Hudson is a legend & anyone on her tours is in for a great time!

I visited the caves, it was about 30 minutes and the guide was friendly and informative. I would recommend to come here if you have never been to a cave before. I would return with others if they had not been here. The cave walk was easy, a few stairs and the option to exit via the 'adventure' route. Its not hard but if you are on the bigger side or have a problem bending then it might be tricky. I barely squeezed through, the average healthy person would have no issues, unless you are claustrophobic.

The tour was great and some information was supplied in german for my parents. We were able to get a free entry ticket with a companion card which wasn’t accepted anywhere else on our trip yet. Nice little selection of local made gifts. Friendly staff and nice food in the cafe.
This was our second time visiting and it was still interesting. Bummer we didn’t hear the bats anymore from 3 years ago but a tourist took a picture with flash and the bats disappeared. If you visit, please try to think about the wildlife.

What a great hidden little gem. We had an excellent guided tour that was easy to walk through, so not difficult for kids or the elderly. You do need to be able to walk well on I ever surfaces and climb and descend stairs though. Our guide was fabulous. They also do provide more challenging tours if desired as well.

Wow, what an adventure! My partner and I stopped in Rocky and saw the caves as something to do nearby. Don't miss it! They're very impressive, and I've visited a view caves all over the world. We booked the Adventure ticket - 2h of intense (and I mean intense) exploration of the caves. Awesome tour guide, beautiful caves, and an amazing feeling of accomplishment after. Loved it!

We went on the 90 mins Explorer tour. Our guide Drew provided us with great commentary about the caves, history and the nature surroundings. He did a great job with entertaining both kids and adults. And He helped us take some awesome photos. Our daughter really enjoyed the "crawling" part, it was so fun. Would definitely recommend to friends to visit.

Our tour guide was Amber. She was so informative. You can tell she loves her job and the caves. We wish we did a longer tour. We weren’t sure what to expect so we chose the cathedral tour as we had small children with us. Highly recommend visiting the caves.

Wow, what an experience!! We did the 2 hour cave adventurer tour with Issie (the best guide ever!!) We were climbing through holes barely bigger than our bodies and saw some incredible sights. We had no idea what to expect before doing the tour and our minds were absolutely blown! It is certainly a workout and wear clothes that you don’t care about getting dirty. Prepare to get out of your comfort zone and definitely ask for Issie as your guide. She is so informative and absolutely loves her job! Such a good time and she gives the best encouragement.

Our tour guide was knowledgable and explained a lot of interesting facts and information about the history of the caves. The group tour was limited in what you can do however we still got to enter and be in awe of the various cave rooms. Definitely a must do if you're passing through the area. If you're a hiker or enjoy movement make time to do the adventure tour where you get to climb through caves.

We did the 2 hour adventure caving tour.
It was so amazing. The guides were awesome and so encouraging, when I though I couldn't do something. I felt so great and top of the world when we finished.
Definitely recommend doing a tour here.

Absolutely amazing!!! My partner and I did the Adventurers tour and our lovely tour guide James was very knowledgeable about the caves, history and was more than happy to answer our questions! If you’re not sure, it’s definitely worth a visit, just make sure you wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty!

The Caves accommodation is faultless. Clean tidy and well maintained.
We did the Adventure Tour with Drew as our guide. He was knowledgeable, engaging and full of passion about the caves and its wildlife. Beautiful and stunning caves.

We stayed a night in a cabin for two and in the morning did the explorer (medium difficulty) tour. Cabin was clean and comfortable with all the amenities and the tour was a lot of fun (quite challenging and a bit slippery after all the rain, but helpful and knowledgeable guide). Definitely worth a few hour stop on your way north or south.

Our tour guide James was great! We learned so many new things about geology of the area, the caves, forest and animals. The explorer tour is a great intermediate one, with some adventurous spots to go past. We also camped there, nice tranquil area with good amenities. About 20min drive from shops.

Absolutely amazing experience! I had a last minute change to plans and they were great about rescheduling to the next day. The guides are very informative and the tours are heaps of fun. I’ve gone back and done all three tours and loved crawling through the caves and experiencing the place like I haven’t been able to at any other caves.

Definitely worth a stop! We had the basic tour and it took around 45min. It was $90 for a family of 4. The tour guide was really good, entertaining and knew a lot. A really magical part was when at the cathedral cave he turned off all the lights and we sat in complete darkness and listened to Hallelujah song with excellent acoustics.

We did the Cathedral tour with 2 kids and a baby. Highly, highly recommend it. Great value for money, the staff enjoy their jobs and you can see that. They clicked well with the kids and really know their stuff. Will definitely be back to do the other tours available.
Could do with a bit more signage on the way out.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time here, our guide was very informative. In the Cathedral cave he turned the lights off for a bit and was playing Hallelujah, as the lights slowly came on again! The acoustics were absolutely amazing…. Magical!

The caves are amazing and we had an awesome adventure Tour including crawling through the caves. The Management / reception was not super friendly. They don't provide showers nor facilities to change or clothes for the experience as pictured in their Videos.
Keep that in mind and you will have an amazing adventure!

This was a lovely quiet place to stay. The cabin was very spacious & clean. A lovely deck with a bbq & a friendly bush turkey. There was also a short walk through the bush. We took the Cathedral Cave tour while there. The entrance to this cave was just like a movie set. Just stunning. Our guide Rory was very knowledgeable & enthusiastic. We saw some bats & their sound was just like running water in the back of the cave. Seated in the pews in the Cathedral Cave as the lights dimmed & the sound of “ Hallelujah “ played was just so beautiful. Thank you to everyone at the caves for their hospitality. Well worth a stopover.

My partner and I booked onto the adventure tour, we really did not know what to expect but were absolutely blown away by our experience. We had booked in for the 19th but unfortunately due to an accident on the Bruce highway, were unable to make it in time, but they were happy to give us a refund. We still wanted to do the tour so they booked us in for the next day! For the tour, there was 5 of us in total which was a perfect number of people to keep the tour moving and ensure health and safety. Our guide, Hudson, was absolutely fantastic. She was so engaging, knowledgeable about all aspects of the caves and clearly a skilled caver. We are both beginners but felt very safe in her hands. It certainly was a work out but we were rewarded by seeing interesting nature, historical facts and gorgeous views. It was also very good to know that the costs of the tour helps fund the important conservation work that is carried out on the property.

Our family (2 adults, 3 kids under 12yrs) visited in September 2023. We did the 2hr Family Adventure tour. The kids loved it! “Amazing!” “Adrenaline rush.” “A little bit scary, but fun.” Our guide Candice was great. There were some small holes we had to commando crawl through. I'd recommend wearing older clothes, perhaps something to cover your knees.

We did the 90-min Explorer Tour and that was just perfect (we were so glad we didn't settle on the 45-min Cathedral Tour). It was only slightly challenging, with a bit of ducking down and using hands to help get up and down certain places. Best to wear non slippery shoes as it can get slippery down there during the rainy season. Jackson was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. Looks like he's found his vocation in life as his passion for the caves and speleology definitely rubbed off. I highly recommend this tour (I'm also glad we didn't do the 2-hr Adventurer Tour as that would have involved crawling on all fours in tighter spaces).

What a fantastic experience, cannot recommend this enough. We signed up for the adventurer tour and it fully lived up to its name. We went with the expectation of just venturing deeply into the caves, but this offered so much more. Expect to crawl, climb and squeeze your way through passages you don’t think you’ll fit through (only if you want to)!
Our tour guide Beth was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and personable, and the perfect guide to this brilliant adventure tour. We learned about the bats and the rock formations as well as a bit of history of the discovery of the caves. This is all whilst pushing yourself through these caves into the different passages/rooms.
Don’t wear clothes you care about, including shoes. It had rained the day before our trip so there were lots of puddles and mud. Luckily we were prepared and felt like it added to the experience but just a bit of warning to people planning to do this!
I think this is such good value for money for the experience we had, and will definitely be recommending to people we know. Thanks again.

We didn’t stay but we did a guided tour of the caves. I have had two knee replacements and still healing but I had no trouble. Paths and steps very accessible. Our tour guide was very informative and helpful. We hope to visit again and stay at the cabins next time. I didn’t cat your tour guides name but it was Kieran.

Amazing tour. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and mindful of everyone’s level of experience. It was great learning about the geology and natural history of the area, and the caves are beautiful. The only thing I can think of to improve the experience is adding the significance of the caves to the traditional people of the land.

Such a fantastic experience! Kids loved the cave walk, & we spotted a few tiny bats. Guide was very informative, & the cathedral at the end was amazing! Definitely would love to come back & did the other tours.

Absolutely amazing.
We were lucky to have Sarah both of our tours the Cathedral and Explorer. She is very informative and our 2 girls had the best time up the front with her. So happy I pushed my self out of my comfort zone to experience the complete package, even though I was covered in mid by the end.
Well worth the visit.
We will be back when the girls are older to do the Adventurer tour.

What an experience! Once in a lifetime opportunity to see such an ancient and beautiful natural masterpiece. Hudson the tour guide was incredible and made the experience one to never forget.
Encounters & photos with rehabilitated koalas, kangaroos, monkeys & several reptile species.
Amazing people, amazing place. They have a great variety of animals. Enclosures were clean and well maintained. The show allows you to get up close and personal with the opportunity to take lots of photos. Highly recommend. The staff are welcoming and very friendly, could not have asked for a better experience. Great day out.

Love this place! So good to see all the animals and to be able to interact with them. The kids had a lot of fun. All animals are looked after very well and it is obvious that the owners have a passion for what they are doing here.

Great place for a family day out. Bring your picnic lunch. Pool for swimming. Can buy bags of food to feed the kangaroos, peacocks, ducks, etc. Can pay a little extra to hold a koala, snake, makaw(large parrot). Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Kangaroos, emu, ducks and peacocks all roam free. Good bathrooms.

Small wildlife park with huge personality.
Fab staff at the 1pm 'show' we are 2 adults in our 60's from UK 🇬🇧 couldn't get a seniors discount though, lady was a bit sharp saying it was only for Australia residents! But regardless we enjoyed our time, it was lovely feeding the animals that were wandering about 😊
It's definitely worth a visit.

What an incredible place to spend the day with the fam bam! The extension of the putt-putt and dinosaur park is a great addition to the park and something extra for everyone to enjoy. Lots to do and plenty of shade to enjoy. The staff and keepers are very knowledgeable, passionate and involved in caring for the animals. 1pm animal show is a must see and do. Getting pictures with the animals on offer is an incredible experience.

We absolutely loved visiting this park. The kids loved all the animals, especially the interactive show which was very hands on. The staff were very friendly and were happy to answer all the kids'questions. We recommend wearing closed in shoes as it can be a bit muddy after rain. Not a whole lot of undercover area though if it's a wet day.

Third time visiting and as always, it does not disappoint!
They have a pool and picnic area, make sure you pack togs and a good feed and have a splash while you wait for the interactive animal show.
They've also recently built a mini golf course, we haven't tried it out, but it looks like it can be fun! So, having gone there for 3 years now, they definitely do a lot to upgrade their facilities and experiences. Well done, Cooberrie! We will be back!

We absolutely loved this place!!! Initially when we saw the price of $40 entry per adult, we thought it was a bit pricey but after spending the whole day there, I can honestly say it's worth every dollar. We loved that there was such a large variety of animals and we also loved being able to feed the ducks, kangaroos and chickens roaming around the park! We loved the array of native Australian wildlife such as emus, cassowaries, kangaroos, koalas, cockatoos, wombats and the cute little blue tongue lizards. They also had a range of snakes, lizards and other birds to hold for free at the reptile show which was at 1pm and was included in the entry fee. On top of this they had a number of wildlife encounters and I chose to do the monkey encounter which was $75. I got to feed the marmoset monkeys out of a bowl and got to spend a fair amount of time with them in their enclosure. It was so much fun! This was definitely the highlight of my day. The animals keepers/handlers were very knowledgeable and could answer all my questions about the monkeys. There were plenty of toilets around the park as well for easy access. There were also a fair amount of tables to sit at around the park if you wanted to stop for a quick snack. The only thing I would say is if you're thinking about going, bring your own snacks/lunch as there is no cafe or eatery on site. There are vending machines with basic food such as crackers and cheese, chips and drinks. There are no full meal options though really if you're looking for that. So I would say eat before you come or bring some lunch along. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who loves animals as it's just awesome! An unforgettable experience!

There is no need to wait.
You can see a lovely animal.
Good place to see the kangaroos from very close, but be aware of the big muscular kangaroos. They are literally the same height of an average human being.

Such a good putt putt. The dinosaurs add to the atmosphere. Very shady on a hot day. Lots of interesting holes. Adults would find the coarse a bit of a challenge. Often courses with other attractions are really for the kids. This is not like that. Highly recommend.

Hands down the best interactive wildlife experience I’ve ever been to or seen. Very affordable rates for holding some of the rarer species, and a wide open area to feed the kangaroos, birds, and wallabies. The animals were very friendly and gentle and the area is built in what used to be a gorgeous botanical garden. Everyone on the staff including the volunteers were ridiculously nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. This was the highlight of my trip to Queensland and I could not recommend visiting enough.

Absolutely brilliant. So much interaction with the animals, up close & person. $2.00 a bag for food to feed kangaroos, emus, birds etc.
So many of each all over the park, wandering about freely.
Can pay extra to hold various animals if you want.
Highly recommended & the kids will love it.
