By far the best part of visiting Yangon. Very surreal. I had a tour guide come up to me when I entered. I thought he was working there but he was just some guy that spoke really good English and knew a lot about the place. He ended up asking for 60,000MMT which was way more than I thought he would ask. I ended up giving up the money because I didn't want to cause a scene and it wasn't that much to give up for me. Long story short, if someone comes up to you to guide you through the place, just know they'll ask for a lot of money at the end. He was a great tour guide overall but I wouldn't have followed him if I knew how much he'd end up charging.

Amazingly complex and beautiful grounds. Take the time to really appreciate all the detail work on the pillars and ceilings. Western visitors need to remember to wear appropriate clothing (shoulders and knees covered). There is a special entrance for foreign guests and an elevator up so you don't need to take all the stairs. You will be barefoot. Bring sunglasses for the glare.

Great pagoda. One of largest and most important one in Myanmar. 10,000MMK for foreigners. It may take 45-60 min. walking inside of this property. There are few water fountain to drink, free of charge. Just be careful with stranger who is coming close to you and start guiding. Usually, they speak fluent English and explain history of this pagoda. If you want to pay for the guide fee, please let him take care of you. It was said 30,000MMK after the guide is done. He would use all of it to his students who are waiting foods and educational goods in northern part of Myanmar… it is totally up to you to believe it or not

Most touching gold pagoda on earth Recommend to come late afternoon and wait for the sunset time. This is place is most stunning view with the peacefully feeling. Prepare to walk with bare foot all the along the pagoda. Might be about hour to go around . Must place visit on earth !

I've always felt so good and peaceful when I've ever reached this invaluable Buddhist temple. It's a prestigious temple for Myanmar.

This is a very famous pagoda in Yangon. It was made by gold and so beautiful in the evening or in the night. There are a lot of local residents. Ticket for foreigner is 10,000 kyats and free for local visitors. You shall wear polite dress. If you wear anything too short, you can borrow another dress from management board (it is free but you need to deposit 5,000 kyats). There may be some local tour guides chasing you. If you accept their service, you need to tip them. They will said that it depends on your heart but they usually mention about 50,000 kyats (a bit high). However, if you don’t enough money, you can give 20-30,000 kyats, it is ok.

A magnificent pagoda complex in the middle of Yangon, which legend has it dates back more than 2,500 years. You will need to pay 10,000 ks at the ticket counters which can be found at each of the 4 entrances - north, south, east and west - of the complex. Be sure to spot and pay at the ticket counters as staff are sometimes missing (due to rarity of tourists as of May 2023 presumably). Or you will be escorted back to the counter by a friendly security guard to pay your dues. The tiles get hot by 10am in the morning, so show up really early or much later in the day during sunset lest walking around the complex feels like walking in a ring of fire! Footwear is forbidden- you will be give a plastic bag to carry your shoes in for the duration of your visit.

An impressive looking pagoda. This is the most sacred pagoda in Myanmar. When I came here, it was very crowded, everyone held a faithful looking on their face. The atmosphere was overwhelming. There were many rituals that were foreign to me. Nonetheless a must visit in Yangon

One of the most famous pagoda in Myanmar. It was built since 1362. It is considered to be one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world that enshrines Buddha’s hair strands in its core. You will be very peaceful by just sitting ‌at the square; hearing the sound of birds and the bell. You can feel that in the video.

One of the most stunning landmarks I’ve ever visited in my entire life! Even if you’re not spiritual, I believe you can feel positive energy here. As of November 2023, the entrance fee for foreigners is 20,000 K. The whole place is quiet massive, and the floor can be too hot for bear feet during the day. Therefore, visiting as dusk is strongly recommended. Also, it’s magical! Prepare a bag to put your shoes in if you don’t plan to exit through the same gate you get in; it’ll save you a lot of time.

During my recent visit to Myanmar, my friend took me out for a day. Towards the evening we visited the pagoda. It's big and elegant. Across South East Asia all the pagodas are remarkably calm even though it has lots of tourist. We spent around an hour, could have easily spent more. I dont remember exact amount but foreigners have to pay an entry fee.. suggested time of visit, evening and late evening.

Beautiful pagoda yet very crowded. Overtouristy. The ticket is MMK 20.000 for foreigner. We’re prohibited to wear footwear upon entering the entrance (just bellow the souvenir shops). But they didn’t provide any shoes rack whatsoever. They even didn’t provide us plastic or paper bag to save our footwear. Shame. Beware of the scammers, they will charge you overprice for a very “meh” guided tour that apparently you don’t need, because every information is already written on the pamflet that given to you at the ticket counter.

The temple is a very beautiful place. The entry ticket for foreigners is 20000 kyats. You can go around the sunset so you can enjoy the view in the daylight as well as in the dark. This is a must visit place if you are in Yangon.

Very large resting Buddha, 65 m, about 210 ft., definitely a must see in Yangoon. We enjoyed it very much. Lots of youngsters that wanted to practice their foreign language skills. Mothers with their babies. Everyone was so friendly and the temple is very colorful and pretty.

Worth visiting. Very peacefull. Didnt expect to be that big in person. Spend minutes admiring Buddha's face and the way his manicured hand support his head. The bare metal frames and trusses adds the charm to the temple. One of the most memorable temples I visited around Southeast Asia

I was late for my flight so I stayed in Yangon without planning ahead. Visiting this temple was not in my plan either. I got an uber and he became my tour guide. This is one of the places he took me to. The reclining Buddha image was impressive. At the time I did not understand the meaning of the image, but I was still overwhelmed. Now that I know the story of thus image, I hope I will have another chance to visit this temple 🙏🙏🙏 The man statue is Sir Po Tha, a wealthy Burmese who sponsored this temple. A very worthy visit

The biggest Reclining Buddha in Myanmar with full length 66.95 m. and high 17.36 m. Its construction began more than 100 years ago and have finished only in 1970s with installing eyes. The the Buddha's eyes are the most amazing thing - to make the class eyes lively the have tried many times. This Buddha is so famous so it's easy to find this Temple.

Beautiful space. Easily accessible. Reminder for westerners, it is a temple and so there are certain dress requirements. The Buddha is huge. Much bigger than I expected. There is a raised viewing platform to see a different perspective. It does get quite hot, so morning might be better

Good place to visit. Long and huge reclining Buddha statue. Many smaller statues with different Buddha positions. Unfortunately I visited during maintenance of the statue when it was completely covered with wooden frames. So have a look at the rare pictures.

Sule Pagoda is conveniently situated in the downtown of Yangon and easy to reach. The entrance ticket is 5k. You have to be modestly dressed and take your shoes off. Pagoda is a pretty large complex with several entrances. It's dedicated mainly to the Lord Gotama the Buddha, but not only. Improvements needed: better cleanliness, especially windows. Thank you

This is a beautiful pagoda in Yangon. It is situated in the middle of a roundabout. Foreigners need to pay 5000 Myanmar Kyat for entry, which I don’t mind. Please also remember to take off your shoes and socks. I walked around this pagoda and made some donations to it.

Good place to pray. Not so big so that it may take about 15-20 min. unless you spend much time to pray for certain thing.

A very nice place in Yangon. The central station with circulation train around the city that would be one of the most interesting activities in the capital of Myanmar. The construction is remained for long time but being in good condition in use. It is not so hard to buy ticket for tourists like us, because they have all the guidance sign in each lane.

Yangon Central Railway Station is a very old building located at Town Center. The city train circular ride is 3 hours but for only 200 Kyat (USD0.13), truly value for money. The train route passes many small suburb area and you can alight on any stop you like. If 3 hours journey is too long, just hop off on any stop and take Grab to go to your preferred destination. It’s indeed a unique experience

At the Yangon Central Railway station, there is a great tourist attraction - the circular rail line! It takes some 3.5 - 4 hours, running from this station to different parts of towns/villages and returning to same station. There was much fun, inside the coach, seeing and experiencing like the locals do. The mad rush, the hard seats and then, the many peddlers selling their wares and food stuff, from one stop to the other. And the views, outside the coach are live pictures in motion. Beautiful scenes of countryside, wooden houses, farmlands, cars, roads etc...in sequence. A very memorable trip in this slow moving train.

The nearest hotel for this station is Hotel G. It is an amazing experience for doing the circular train trip. Interesting architecture outside the building. Inside the building is old and dusty. You can tell the guards to let you in and go onto the railway track for photo taking😎 You can also buy the train ticket at 200kyat for a round trip, which will take 3 hours for the whole trip🚂

Ride the Circle train here. Buy tickets on platform 7. It is currently closed partway for track works so you can only go one way. We got off the train after we felt that we had enough and caught a taxi back to the city. Still a good adventure and experience

Like most colonial buildings in Yangon, this one is architecturally beautiful but is visibly rundown and unkempt. Ticketing is pretty straightforward but signs and announcements are inadequate. There aren't plenty of food options so bring your own provisions.

I haven't been to this most popular market in Yangon for several years. It still maintains its original appearance but it is not as vibrant as its heydays years ago. The market used to be bustling in the past with sightseers, patrons, shoppers and vendors of all kinds. It is not a deserted place and still quite active though level of activity is down much.

Visited in 2022 Almost 70% of shop were closed. And the electricity not working so the atmosphere is dark and quiet in the day time. They still have some shop open so you can walk around or shop something.

After water festival in mid-April of 2023, very few buyers came and many jewelry shops upstairs were closed.

It is sort of an open market. Many vendors selling clothes, jewelry, fashion accessories, fruits, vegetables, sausages, stones, sunglasses, small meals and much more. It is a must visit when you are in Yangon. You can find almost every daily routine item whether belongs to kitchen or bedroom. Much crowded sometimes, have quick access to Junction City and downtown. Particularly it is hub of downtown. Many restaurants, clothing stores, loose clothes, bed and bathing accessories, wet market stuff even I saw people selling antique gift items. Mostly female around this place, parking is bit issue here. One end connecting with popular Yaw Min Gyi street, one end is with Junction city mall and Chinatown.

Well, I barely used to go there except from job purpose. And my job place is stable, not mobile. But I had a few acknowledgement of my job place's surrounding. There were cosmetic product sale places, the promotion areas where some particular types of promotions from different branches of brands by Time. So..., yeah.

Very quiet due to few foreign visitors to Myanmar at this time. There are quite a few gemstone and jewelry shops in the market, however, I don’t know how I can identify quality of them exactly. You can drink Myanmar milk tea and see the daily life of vendors in the market like below pictures.

Good place for Jade and gems, almost big shops closed and haven't opened after Covid, but still a lot, when you buy Jade here always ask for certificate, be careful with the guys offer to show their relative shops here, they got money from shop when you buy, just go around a take a look!

Huge bustling market which is a lot of fun to simply just wander around or pick up souvenirs and really anything else you'd ever want to buy. It can be a bit daunting to find your way around, but it's perfectly safe and there are always lots of other tourists wandering around as well. I bought a couple souvenirs and found prices were totally reasonable without needing to bargain beforehand.

A must visit when u r in Yangon whether u buy / shop anything or not. British colonial time market with unique lay out. Plenty of ethnic dress materials , jewells , handicrafts, antiques are flooded in this market. I really liked the collection of crafts, show pieces made of wood, bamboo. Awesome, unique stuffs....surely something will be of ur taste. I will go again for sure.

TBH you need to be very wary of touts and spice at the front of the market, but there are a few excellent gem dealers here. I’ve also bought loads of traditional weaves at Bogyoke Aung San. Take your time and check out many dealers. You can get a taxi back to your hotel with help from the great staff outside the mall across the road.

Decent park with a 300 kyat admission fee. A few small dining places along the lake. A few play areas for children. A very small "zoo". A nice small island to relax on the grass. A somewhat questionable boardwalk. And a "Palace". There also is a water park but I'm not sure if there is a separate admission fee for that.

Nice to visit with family or buddies. Total get relax with walking or sitting around lake side is best for city life.

We went to Karawaik park that is located at kandawgyi lake. We paid 500kyats per pax for entrance fees. There are some quite places where you can go Picnic with your family and friends.

It can be considered as the only enjoyable and big enough amusement park in Yangon. It could be better considering the size and structure. Tickets are super cheap. I have seen smaller and unnatural-looking parks in Thailand with very high price.

An entrance fee is required based on the number of people entering. I highly recommend this park; it's very natural and a great place to walk with your pet. Additionally, food festivals are frequently held in various corners of the park.
