Rented a car when we left Florence to go to Tuscany and it was worth it! Just watch out for tolls.. we got a few tickets in the mail 🥴 If you’re looking to ball out on your bday, I would recommend staying at Castle Monastero in Tuscany. It’s $$ but it’s beautiful, they have a spa with a few pools you can use, and the restaurant was amazing.

You do know that Europeans start their holiday season in July. After a year and a half of hell they are going to be filling up most everything if open. August is worse. I would try to see if you could do September instead.
