Very impressive structure relatively recently refurbished to an excellent standard. There is lots to see inside, difficult to explain in words as truly unique place. There is lot going on here and I don't remember seeing that many tombs in a Christian building. The cathedral is also a short walk to the high street (pedestrian area) and from there only another 5 mins to another shopping mall.

A beautiful Cathedral, also known as Cathedral Church of St. Mary the Virgin and St. Ethelbert the King with the most stunning examples of stained glass windows. There is no entrance free but donation areas are there as a small encouragement but no pressure. Built by the Normans from red sandstone, it is an impressive structure that it’s in a large area of landscaped gardens where you can sit and relax. Missed the mappa mundi and chained library today so am already planning a return visit to take this tour and hopefully the tower tour.

Visited Hereford Cathedral today and was pleasantly surprised by the free admission! The atmosphere was majestic and serene, perfect for soaking in the rich history of this ancient site. Highlights include the fascinating Mappa Mundi and the impressive chained library. The mix of Norman and Gothic architecture adds to the charm. Definitely worth a visit, especially on a sunny day!

Lovely place, definitely worth a visit. Tour guides and staff are very helpful and showed us to a detailed feature that can only be seen when the sun shines at a certain time of the day.

Absolutely fantastic! It's a really eye opener how beautiful the building itself is! They have wonderful staff and volunteers that are knowledgeable with the history and the stained glass! They have a little outside garden aswell as a chained library, a cafe and ceremonies there like Sunday service! It's also right in the middle of Hereford and looms over the lovely little city! 100% worth a visit!

Absolutely stunning piece of architecture, inside and out. We took a good hour walking around the inside. Unfortunately the Mappa Mundi was under restoration and the chained library was closed the day that we went. But there is still plenty to look at. Swamped in history throughout the ages. The Crypt was a nice quiet area to take a moment and sit. The café was a welcome addition and a small gift shop for a souvenir. I would definitely revisit the next opportunity I have, as I surely believe i couldn't have seen everything in one go.

Stunning building. We went in the cafe for a pot of tea. Delightful service and the courtyard was so peaceful it was hard to believe we were in the city centre. Lovely visit.

My absolute favourite Cathedral in the country. The architecture is simply gorgeous, & the sundry chapels are wonderful environments for one to focus one’s mind upon God. I hope to attend an Evensong at the Cathedral some day, & strongly recommend anyone in Hereford, whether Christian or not, to stop by to look around or attend a service.

An amazing place and a 'must-see' for any visitors who love history, architecture and fine craftsmanship. It's possible to wander around at your own pace admiring the statues, screens, stained glass and choir stalls. The carvings there are exquisite. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time - alas, there's never enough time to see everything. Very helpful, friendly Cathedral staff on hand to answer any queries. An excellent experience.

Free admission, which was a nice surprise. A really historic and interesting cathedral that is accessible and full of information. However, the old world map was overpriced for our liking, so we passed on that. Disregarding that, though, a great and interesting cathedral, even for non-religious people like ourselves.

Hereford Cathedral is the home of some of the oldest and some say most important documents of map making, law, and literature. It is home to the map of mundi and the Magna Carta. And houses one of the largest chained libraries in England. The cathedral itself is a beautiful piece of architecture and has been maintained well through the generations of parishioners and the church. The bell tower is amazing and is open periodically throughout the week. There are a few car parks nearby within a short walk to the cathedral.

Arrived in Hereford, and met our very good guide Phil. Hereford is a lovely city and well worth a visit, a lovely mix of old and new. We visited the Cathedral, saw Elgar's statue. Well worth a visit

Magnificent Cathedral which seems to play an integral part in the local community. The architecture is breath-taking from ground level but you can on certain days, also take a walk up to the tower which unfortunately wasn't open when we visited. You can venture down into the crypt which is also interesting. Fantastic setting and just minutes away from a lovely little cobbled street with lots of coffee shops and boutiques. Absolutely worth a visit and free to enter.

Fantastic day out. Visit Mappa mundi and chained library £7.50. Lots of information with great guides to answer any questions. Pay for guided tour of cathedral which operate at 11am and 2.15pm and last 1 hour cost £6. Perhaps focussed on modern history more than early history but definitely worth doing. Pay at cathedral shop. Great cafe. Park on St Martins car park £1 per hour. Lots of spaces and nice short walk over the Wye bridge to the cathedral.

Hereford Cathedral is one of a number of cathedrals that are free to enter. Which enables all to visit. There is a charge to visit the mappa mundi and chained library. The cathedral houses the shrine of St Thomas Cantilope. And war memorial to the nearby SAS Regiment. The cathedral is a quiet peaceful place.

A very well maintained cathedral which has lots of interesting features to look out for whilst walking around the building. It has a very calming and relaxing feel as any church should. The cathedral also includes a very small gift shop, as well as a cafe. Definitely worth a visit and also remember to leave a donation.

Loved this historic cathedral in Hereford. The outside curve gives a great path of historic dates and events, leading you into a massive and impressive historic cathedral with massive arches and history buried in the walls next to you. It's a great place to sit and contemplate life, and to give thanks.

A beautiful cathedral with marvellous architecture and rich history. Entrance is free. Visited in early February and was not very crowded.

Nice place to visit, staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. Clean facilities. There is a 5min walk to the ruins and the kids loved running around the place, exploring the tight spiral staircases and hiding in the dungeon. Lovely scenery looking out from the castle.

Very impressive castle ruins on top of the hill. Lots of amenities and nice shop. The ruins are around 5 minute walk from the car park. Lots of towers and scenic points to explore.

Very pleasant and impressive to walk around. One person in our group had mobility issues but was still able to walk around the courtyard (just not the steps leading up to the walk ways). If you book online up to 8.45am on the day you get a discount. Lovely helpful staff.

Lovely couple of hours. Free audio tour which was very informative and enjoyable. Loved the lady in the shop, she made the day with her humour and enthusiasm. Tea rooms fresh vegan and friendly. Reasonable price too.

Great morning out at Goodrich. Lots of interpretation panels, an audio tour available and a guidebook. Well stocked English Heritage run shop and a nice little cafe, only a few indoor tables but plenty of outdoor tables. Food was delicious and reasonably priced for an attraction. Fantastic castle with lots of towers to climb, hidden rooms to explore and history to discover.

A brilliant place to visit. Pleasant and friendly staff, who were happy to share their knowledge and help you to get a better idea of how the castle functioned. Relatively easy to move around. I even managed to get to the top floor, after finding a second stairway to the ramparts. The guide book is well worth the extra £4.50 and the audio guide was really informative. As it was a school holiday, there were plenty of games and activities for the children and much older children to enjoy too.

One of the most impressive castles I have ever seen. Amazing views and colours of the sky always delight me. A few hours walk around the ruins of the castle on the rock, steep stairs to the tower, and green grass around. Good audio guide service. Big carpark and coffee shop.

Beautiful majestic structure dominating its tranquil location overlooking swans on the river. Easy access, easy 🅿️ exceptional staff, so friendly and enthusiastic, knowledgeable, site is completely dog friendly, very nice cafe on entrance, gift shop, toilets. A short walk from this gives you the inspiring presentation of this awesome piece of history. We took our 8 year old grandson, it may not be the biggest or grandest in the land but for us, the best by far. Over the bridge through the arch and so many places, steps, bridges, walkways, dungeon, most, you can go to the look out at the top of the tower, stunning for exploration of all ages and steeped in rich history 😁audio available, this is without doubt our favourite castle ever and English heritage have done an outstanding job keeping it safe and accessible 5 ⭐️

Great English Heritage site! Easy parking, accessible to most (small steps into the castle) and larger steps if you want to climb within the castle. Great view point from the top and the cafe has lots of options. Would bring friend and family if in the area

A fascinating castle, built on a bedrock. I've been to many a castle in England and Wales, but this is certainly one of the more impressive ones. Plenty to see amongst the ruins, with some unique features. A small cafe, with facilities and a gift shop.

I had a lovely morning having a look around Goodrich Castle. I was pleasantly surprised that it was open on a Sunday. The castle is quite unique in its history. I was surprised by the amount of exploring that I could do. There are lots of towers that you can go up. There are plaques explaining each one of the rooms and what it was used for. You can get some fantastic views from the castle towers all over the countryside. I was lucky with the weather. I also had a ginger beer and a cappuccino from the café. The service was good and I would definitely recommend the refreshments!

Very impressive, well-preserved Castle. Very helpful staff who allowed us close access for disabled very close to the Castle entrance. You must bear in mind that this is a castle, however, and not at all suited for disabled access. There are steps literally everywhere as is to be expected. I managed to get round it fairly well on a pair of crutches, but wheelchair users or scooter users need not bother. There's a great cafe near the car park and a good gift shop but this houses the only toilets, so parents with small children or others with a fear of being away from the loo for a couple of hours may need to be aware. On the whole, well worth a visit with limitations

Great castle! Dog friendly. Lots of information points. Beautiful views around. Clean toilets nearby. Nice looking cafe but we haven't tried the food. I highly recommend visiting. Reserve at least 1h but could easily spend much longer.

Ive been to a lot of castles and ive got to say this is a good one, we spent a good 2 hours exploring here, the views from the top of the keep are fantastic, the kids loved it what more do you want.

Such an impressive castle, even our dog loved exploring it. The staff were lovely, really helpful and the cafe was brilliant. Really enjoyed mooching around here, so much so we became English Heritage members. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely piece of history that has a beautiful setting. The site is nicely set out and comes with a good audio guide that helps you understand what it looked like throughout the ages. The staff were really friendly and the gift shop has some incredible full size replicas of Anglo Saxon, Medieval and Renaissance Era helmets for sale! All in all, well worth a visit for any history buff.

Took the family there in half term. The kids loved it climbing up the steep stairways in the tower to the roof. And the view was amazing. You could see the river Wye on one side and woodland and open Fields for miles. They were staff dressed up and told stories and played a game. My children already want to go back for another visit.

A lovely little castle with a lot of information. You can get a walking audio tour or there are regular guided tours from volunteers at the castle. With tons of information boards and lots of boarded walkways to get around, it's a lovely place to stop on a day trip.

I visited with my daughter (13 years) and nephew (2 years) during a rainy day in the Easter holidays. We only managed to do the Easter trail (which I have found at every NT property we visited) that doesn't cover all age ranges well. But they both had fun running around. Cafe was nice, and toilets were clean. I would love to go back and go in the house too. Grounds were lovely.

Berrington Hall is a large historic Manor House located North of Leominster. The landscaping was designed by Capability Brown and was one his last designs. The architect was an associate of his. The design of the landscape compliments that of the house. The site on which it is built is breathtaking. As you stand in the house’s beautifully appointed portico you have views to the right of the beautiful rolling hills and in the distance Welsh mountains. While to the left you have the serine view of Browns carefully located trees and lake. The walled garden is one of the finest we have visited. There are some beautiful old trees and several scenic walks.

A really nice national trust place, quite a modern setting inside the hall although there is a lot history to the place up until the early 2000s. A lovely setting with livestock roaming the grounds. An enormous lake at the bottom home to all kinds of birds, a really good day out, lots of trails to walk and an amazing walled garden with all kinds of fruit and veg being grown and used in the onside shop and cafe

Really nice national trust venue. Grounds are really nice and park area was really good for our boys aged 3-11. Didn’t go into the house as we had our dogs with us. If the car park had a couple of EV chargers that would be a fantastic addition.

Beautiful stately home with some great volunteers who tell you loads about the home n gardens! Capability Brown's last known garden so definitely one to see! Best bit of the day is always an Earl Grey and a fruit scone but for me it was flying the kite! Wind was perfect and visitors gave me a clap! Felt like a child again!

Capability Brown's last Landscape Garden. A fine Georgian house with beautiful interiors, well preserved. There is a café serving basics, with a good selection of cakes. Accessible toilets. Walks. Interior photographs are only of the servant quarters. Well worth a visit. There are sometimes guided walks around the gardens.

A substantial NT property with easy parking close to the main house,toilets cafe etc. A very warm and informative welcome. The house is displayed over 2 floors with very interesting history. Of particular note is the work of the sewing group who have produced some amazing garments some of which you can try on.

The house itself is beautiful, lots of information to read about the history of the building. Looked like there would be some lovely walks around the lake too, but unfortunately it's not pathed and we weren't wearing suitable footwear. Overall we had a nice time and was happy to use our membership to visit such a grand house.

Small gardens, including a rare curved wall garden and an interesting potting shed with gardeners' information, including the murder of James Fleet. The house itself is a cube shaped and not extensive, but the decor was beautiful (look up at the ceilings). The highlight is the dress, and the work which went into its restoration. Pictures do not do it justice - if you can see for yourself. There were toilets, cafe and car park onsite.

A Lovely place for a few hours out. Plenty of parking and very tidy. Lovely place to take your dog for a walk as a number of walks and plenty of dog poo bins. Only issue if it was one I don't know how wheelchair friendly the Actual Hall is as the entrance is via steps.

This is one of my favourite places to be. Stunning views, great estate home, lovely park all around. Again, there is a nice cafe on the premises but doesn't cater for coeliac, so you must come prepared.

Excellent NT site with grounds and lake designed by Capability Brown (his final project before he died). All rooms in the hall itself are beautifully arranged and the guides are particularly helpful. A good day out.

Free voucher visit. Lovely house & grounds. The walled garden is great. Kids enjoyed the games left on the lawn & the pineapple hunt. But best of all, we got to dress up!

Spent hours here, helpful staff, free parking toilets available, walled gardens were nice, smaller than others I been to but still good, can buy the veg they grow which I liked, the park walks were nice, around a Berrington pool, house was really interesting, David was great at little bits of information, can try on the gowns and wigs that they would of worn, dogs allowed there just not in house or cafe. Enjoyed my day out :)

Very interesting place to visit. Very tranquil and picturesque. I liked the interiors of the mansion a lot. And of course I was impressed with the dress! There is also a nice garden around. The cafe has a wide choice of food and drinks.

Lovely place, but be aware the forest walk is very muddy, there's paths around but need good footwear. Arrived at 10 and spent the time in the walled garden and bookshop before the house opened at 11. The house is lovely and after the house is a lovely walk around the grounds. Lots of wildlife, sheep, cows, herons and geese is lovely to see. For a long day out tie this place with Croft Castle.

Great place to visit. Very rainy day to start with. The house was packed with historical stuff and informative people, choir and a chance to dress up. Cafe was great, bookshop, walled gardens. Nice long walks were good but wearing wellies is essential for some of them.

We have driven past Barrington hall so many times and always thought that it looked really interesting and on the first visit we weren’t disappointed. A very human sized house with an amazing history. Thank you to the helpful and knowledgeable volunteers on site. , In the old service dining room was a warm refuge from the chilli wind outside. We had excellent coffee and I managed to sneak a rather delicious brownie. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back.

This was a gem of a find. We'd not been before but we were not disappointed. From start to finish we had a wonderful experience, even down to the dressing up. Yep. You get to relive your childhood and dress it like those from the period. The staff accommodates us by prebooking a tramper for my disabled wife. The tea room was lovely and adequately priced for food for three of us. We will definitely be going back again.

Beautiful grounds and house. The interior rooms were presented very well, you really do feel like you're in the 18th century. The cafe was lovely. Nice and warm on a cold day, and the bacon bap was the best I've tasted 😋 A perfect place to visit.

This place is wonderful, it has spectacular gardens, everything is very well maintained, the staff is very friendly, special thanks to the golf cart driver at the entrance, who very kindly offered to take my 3-year-old daughter from the door to our car because my daughter wanted a ride. Those small details make a big difference. thank you ❣️

Great national trust property, recommend that you join the trust as there's lots of little gems like this. 2 great walk in the grounds puppies will love it although they can't enter the house

Berrington Hall is one of my favourite places to visit. There are two trails you can take, both with great views. I chose the lakeside trail this time and wasn't disappointed. I love the history and particularly enjoy seeing what life was like for the servants - all of below stairs was open and I was in my element! Friendly and informative room volunteers. Berrington Hall offers fruit & veg & flowers for donations. This time I came away with sweet pea flowers and some lovely tomatoes. My only niggle is that like all NT places they have really chopped their menu. They still have sandwiches, but no salads, lighter options, the majority of food being bread/pastry/cakes. It was a very hot day and they had soup on offer! That aside as I'd take a picnic next time & just buy drinks, I had a lovely day and can't wait to visit again soon.

Herrington Hall is quite Austere from the outside but stunning inside. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. There is free parking and the entrance fee justifies the site. However the coffee shop cakes are a complete rip off £3.50 each for a minuscule slice. Very poor value for money. They ought to visit other local sites to see comparisons.

Steeped in history, Hereford Catederal well worth a visit. It has the oldest medieval map of the world, known as the Mappa Mundi. There is also a chained library. The cafe is small but serves lovely lunches.

A whole wing of the former abbey and library are dedicated to the Mappa and provide a lot of contextual information and contemporary sources to help understand the importance and uniqueness of the Mappa better. It’s advised to spend at least an hour here, if possible ask for a guide. Or buy the £13 pound book in the shop.

Very interesting place and happy we drove over 2.5 h to see the Mappa Mundi, totally worthwhile. The Chained Library was really fascinating, just thinking about the age of all those books gave me the shivers. Definitely a must-see if you are in the area.

A very interesting experience, and well worth a visit. The map itself is fascinating, and the displays explaining it are intricate and very helpful. Having it set in the cloister felt extra special. I also loved seeing the chained library, which is a fascinating piece of history from a time when creating a single book was an arduous and expensive process.

What an amazing experience, well worth the entry fee. I was always convinced the Mappa Mundi was scrolled up like a sea chart - who knew! The volunteers are soooo knowledgeable, there is no such thing as a daft question. The exhibition is well structured and informs before you see the real thing. You could spend forever looking at all the detail. It feels so much like the creators were hovering above but using poetic licence on size and scale. This so worth a visit if you are into history.

The Mappa Mundi is certainly a fascinating piece of history which I'm so happy to have seen. I personally had a very pleasant experience with staff, who were extremely knowledgable about the Mappa Mundi and chained library, which I was extremely excited to discover was at the back, and was a lovely example of preservation and yet, interaction. We were encouraged to observe and see everything at play, and there were curated exhibits from visitors and people who became involved in, say, the calligraphy panel, where there was a smile inducing addition from an 8 year old quoting 'Albert einstene'. People, in my experience, seemed to be the forefront of the exhibit considering it is rather small, but I think that, as well as the restorations they have managed to achieve, makes the ticket price worth it. Super interesting, but gets very busy, especially when complying with COVID guidelines, so keep that in mind and maybe visit before the peak, as you may have to wait before entering for a while.

Dropped by because the description sounded interesting. We were sold tickets by the surliest man I have met in quite a long time. And the tickets are quite expensive bearing in mind the time and interest in the museum. First, they have the original Mappa Mundi. Interesting, but they don't really bring the topic to life, nor really talk about the notable limitations and the nonsense that's drawn onto this remarkable map; they only talk credulously about the religious stories presented. Not really well balanced. Second, they have a chained library with some amazing old books. However, you can only look at the outside of the books. None are down from the shelves to look at. Apparently, they are too precious, but there must be some duplicates. Or have videos in the room, or some way to show us the content. Talk more about the locks or how the library worked, or why all these books ended up here rather than somewhere else. The curator in the room was lovely but this was a massive missed opportunity for a brilliant exhibition.

Gardens are full of interest and there's plenty of space for children to run around. Fun to be had in the maze and the path behind the waterfall. Coffee and cakes available and freshly made sandwiches at lunchtime. Castle entry not possible when a wedding is being hosted.

This is one of the most beautiful & relaxing places, I have EVER visited! Our tour guide, was a wonderful lady, that perfect mix of Knowledge & humour. I missed some of what she said, as I'd forgot my hearing aids, but, primarily because I was too busy taking pics! Would love to go back, jam my hands in my pockets & listen intently ! The grounds are fantastic! Highly recommend the sunken garden, and 'secret' tunnel route to the tower! Its accessible via a maze (frankly! Good luck!) Simply fabulous

Hampton Court Castle was a great find. It was a fantastic day out with the family. Great grounds and lovely gardens. The pay area is amazing and the little creek and stepping stones area was fantastic for a little explore. Don't forget to go behind the waterfall ;) The castle tour was very informative and the tour guide Gill was great. We will definitely revisit in the summer when the garden is in full bloom.

Hampton Court Castle is older than Hampton Court Palace in London, by about 100 years. Beautiful building and the interior splendid. The grounds are extensive and the gardens gorgeous. Orangery cafe tell me they'll start serving alcohol for the summer (mum's request 🤣). Cafe had enough choice and has a pleasant, open atmosphere. Lovely afternoon.

Lovely grounds to explore, the flowers have started to bloom and the vegetables are growing well. Not many people here on a monday, so we took our time. A picnic would be a good idea to sit in the many grass areas available. The maze was good fun as was the waterfall you could walk behind. £9.50 entry each adult but you could easily spend the day here. The cafe didn't have many vegan food options is my only criticism otherwise a nice cup of tea had while admiring the historical building and grounds.

We had an amazing day at Hampton Court Castle. We had a guided tour of the castle as well as free roam of the castle gardens. The children’s play area was absolutely amazing and me and my husband were really impressed with the wooden castle play area. We enjoyed the maze and the tunnels to the waterfall, it was beautiful and we’d definitely go back.

A beautiful day out for families and adults alike. We got tickets to the gardens which were stunning. The castle itself is magnificent and well preserved. The grounds are vast and well looked after. There was an exotic animal experience the day we went. What a fantastic bonus!

This is somewhere that is refreshingly quirky. The Gardens are not large but they are beautifully laid out and really don’t disappoint. We both have reduced mobility, so for us the joy of many benches scattered throughout can’t be understated! Getting to the Tower which is located in the middle of the maze was something we dreaded.. we dislike maze. So instead we were delighted to access the Tower via the underground tunnel from the sunken garden (make sure to use your mobile phones light as it’s dark). The cafe was adequately stocked with the usual fare of cakes, teas and coffees. But it’s worth noting that the main offering is sandwiches only. As anyone who eats gluten free will know the experience of eating gluten free bread can range from “ok” to “beyond disappointing”. Thankfully the sandwich on the gluten free seeded roll exceeded our expectations. In summary. This place isn’t particularly slick (the offering is more like a national trust property from 1980) but that’s definitely part of its charm. All things considered we had a good time soaking up the ambiance of a by gone age. We will definitely return.

Superb garden layout. The best I've seen. Great wood carvings along with a maze, grotto, folly tower with a neat twist.

A great way to pass a few hours, with plenty to see and do. The guided tour of the 🏰 is great and the grounds are beautiful. The maze could be scary, but there's a secret tunnel to get in and out, which is worth taking as you get to enjoy the sunken garden as well. Ask the guide for details!

It was a lovely day with old friend and fetching back great memories of a place that we was going to buy from Mr and Mrs Falk's. It was a shame their bank didn't like our ideas for a garden centre and open air concerts and wedding venue , they said no to us. We would have keept the estate as a whole. But their is the oldest bath in the UK under the floor boards in the house.?

Hampton Court Castle is an absolutely beautiful place to visit and has something to offer for all the family. Adult entry at the time of visiting was £10 to access the gardens only, or £15 for the gardens and a guided tour of the castle. The immaculately kept formal gardens are truly stunning with lots of hidden areas, water features, pavillions and outdoor sculptures to discover. There's also a vast area of lawns dotted with huge majestic Lebanese cedar trees that lead down to a river walk. The gardens also feature a 1,000 yew tree maze with a central Gothic viewing tower. A tunnel leads from the basement of the tower to a hidden sunken garden with a waterfall you can walk behind. The Castle itself is well worth a visit too. Our tour guide, Susan, was the best guide we've ever had; she was warm, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and obviously had a great passion for the castle and its history! She really did a fantastic job and brought the castle to life with a great sense of humour. The only area I felt could be improved was the food offered in the Joseph Paxton-designed Orangery Cafe. I opted for a cheese and plumb chutney sandwich on granary bread with a small bowl of chips. Due to the stunning surroundings I envisaged being served a thick, freshly cut sandwich of delicious granary bread with slices of mature cheddar cheese and plumb chutney. The reality was quite a disappointment; a sandwich of the thinnest, mass produced sliced brown bread, without any butter or margerine, a few slices of tasteless thin 'plastic' cheese and plumb chutney. Two sandwiches, two bowls of chips and 2 cans of coke came to a few pence under £30. This would have been acceptable if the quality had been good. All in all, it's an amazing place to visit, and I'd definitely go again. But next time I think I'll take my own picnic.

Beautiful gardens and lovely grounds! Some impressive gates and sculptures here as well to see. There's some nice walks by the river. To look around the house costs extra as it's a guided tour. There's a good café here for lunch.

Beautiful place to visit, lovely coffee shop on site and the tour of the castle is really good too. There is plenty for kids to enjoy plus there is also a river walk that you can do to. The gardens are broken down into separate areas. The venue is also used as a wedding venue and offers rooms to stay. All in all a great afternoon. I was there for about 3 hours.

Such an impressive castle with absolutely enchanting gardens. The orangery cafe supplied amazing food, their carrot cake is the best ever! A wonderful day out.

Amazing family day out. What a place! Took my wife and two daughters (ages 6 and 2). Loved every second. Spent 4 enthralling hours there, petting & feeding countless animals. You can get into the pens to have hands on contact with lambs & sheep, goats & kids, which the girls loved. The whole place is clean & well laid out. The animals look really well cared for and the staff are all very friendly & knowledgeable. The cafe offers very nice coffee and excellent cakes. The owls were impressive too - we got to stroke one called Damien. I highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant. We’ve been coming here since our children were very small and we still come back. The animals are well looked after. The staff are always friendly and it’s just a great place to stop off for a few hours or a day trip. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Just go. The kids will love being able to wander with the animals and you’ll love seeing them have a great time. One of those secret places that once you go once. You’ll be going back again and again.

We absolutely loved our visit - we visited with a 6 year old and a baby. The staff were incredibly friendly. I can honestly say I have never seen so many owls! The farm animals were very tame - we fed the sheep and goats and stroked the horse and donkeys. The food in the cafe was good and reasonably priced. Would 100% visit again!

Fantastic park with a great selection of animals, including the best owls I’ve ever seen, staff on hand to assist and pet animals, plenty of outdoor seating with covered seating in the cafe and at the front, nice coffee (in actual mugs) and good pricing. Pay on arrival and bring a pair of wellies - there are tarmac surfaces so it is accessible, but I found myself going on the grass when the paths were busy (which I was fine with). Would recommend and visit here with others or again as a family!

Lovely little place to see lots of animals. Spent about two hours here as a nice place to stop over for lunch and it was great. Saw one day old baby goat twins soo cute, and our kids got to feed and interact with lots of different sheep and goats. Plus so many other animals and all the owls to see and learn about. Little shop and cafe too.

Absolutely fantastic place to visit, it was a bit busy when we got there, but it was Good Friday, so we did anticipate it likely would be busy. Plenty of space for parking and only queued for a minute to pay to enter. Small cafe and outside seating area, cafe was incredibly busy, so we visited later in the day. Toilets were clean and accessible, hand washing facilities available too. We purchased food for the goats and sheep, and fed them as we passed them. Lovely to be able to mix in with the animals in certain areas. We were there for a few hours, and had a pit stop for a toasted sandwich and a drink at the cafe. All in all, family friendly, not too pricey and the sun was shining.

Very pleasantly surprised. Very well maintained and clean. Lots of very well looked after animals, with the largest amount of owls I've ever seen in one place. Goats and sheep Very gentle when you feed them and all look very healthy and happy. Highly recommend a visit 🙂

Had a wonderful visit with the family on what ended up being a beautiful sunny day. My little girl had so much fun petting the goats and the other small animals and she loved looking at all the different breeds of owls. The food options were fab and the entire day was just really lovely. Would highly recommend to any families looking for something to do that doesn’t cost the earth.

So many different owls! A lovely place, well laid out, lots of different animals to see and feed. It's even possible to go in a couple of fields with sheep and pygmy goats and stroke them. Amazing chickens with beautiful feathers, birds, alpacas, piggies. A fabulous time was had by all. There's also a cafe with scrummy cake. All the staff are lovely too. We saw them take an owl for a walk, chase some chickens (to check them) let the alpacas run and divert a running goat.

Fantastic day out. Went for my granddaughters birthday. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Animals all looked happy and well fed. Extremely lucky to see 2 lambs moments after they were born. Plenty of areas to walk around. Good selection of areas to eat. Would recommend to everyone to visit and support this family run business.

Great place! Lots to see and extras are allowed. We went as 3 adults which was still brilliant for. Owls and the animals came with a description and information about them. We also purchased a bucket of sheep and goat food. Chick's and young owls were great to see. Some great personalities to see in the animals!

I love visiting this place. I’d buy a year pass if I didn’t live so many winding roads away. I’ve been twice and I’ll be going again soon. I think the miniature goats are my favourite. They’re so friendly. The farm is set out in an easy way to view everything. There are lots of interesting owls. You could visit in the rain when all the animals are in the undercover area. All of the animals are so friendly, even the noisy goose, which was a lovely surprise for me.
