Blue lagoon 1 is a great spot. Yes it is developed and ‘touristy’, but I don’t think that matters. The lagoon itself is fairly small but caters for those who can and can’t swim, with life jackets and tubes, swings and diving platforms. It’s quite fun. The hike up to the cave is steep but not too difficult if you have 2 functioning legs. The cave is beautiful and if you rent a torch you can go a long way in and easily consume an hour exploring the nooks and crannies. The ziplining is great value and safely managed. I did it with my 7 year old daughter and she had a great time. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced. It’s easy to spend an entire day here just doing all the activities and having fun. Would recommend!

Great place to be. Hike up to the cave, then jump from the board and have a great swim in the chill water.

It's blue, but not a lagoon, but a river. Nice place for swimming, jumping into the water from an overhanging tree, relaxing on the lawns, some lunch, a walk up to the cave or at extra cost (300 000k for two) 5 stages of zip-line between tall trees. It became busy with tour groups on a Sunday afternoon but didn't feel crowded. Actually the people gave it a fun, social atmosphere. Free, clean toilets and free scooter parking after the entrance (10000k pp)

A beautiful place to spend your half day here. I recommend to visit here at noon because of cool water😅. Enjoy your lunch, swimming and jumping for few hours so it’s too close from the city. For me, I got there by motorcycle just 3-5 km from the city but the road was not good. Don’t forget to wear a mask to protect you from the dust.

It’s a beautiful place, it was cloudy when we went, so the views were not the best. It was still very good to take a dip in the cold water in a hot day. We paid 20,000 KIP as foreigners and they have a big parking for cars and scooters.

Blue Lagoon is very crowded and noisy, because many tourists drive there with their (stupid) dune buggies. The cave is very impressive. The deeper you enter the more you are by yourself. It's slippery inside, so bring good shoes. Also a flashlight is a must. We were able to rent some at the entrance of the cave.

In my opinion, the highlight of this place is not swimming in the pool but exploring the cave. There are many interesting things waiting for you inside. The cave hall is so HUGE so I recommend you renting flashlight before you climb up the cave. When you get into the deepest part of the cave, you cannot hear anything except high frequency sound and sound of your breath. This might make you feel scared and excited at the same time.

Easy day out, cycled from town. Took about 45 min at a very leisurely pace. Probably a little easier on the way there than on the way back, but not too much of a difference. Stunning scenery on route.

Nice place to visit. When we arrived, plenty of parking. The food stalls in the parking lot weren't ready. After visiting the Poukham cave, the stalls were opened and we picked up some snacks. Bought yellow yam pancakes and sweet sticky rice.

A little crowded, as it was the weekend. Entrance fee was 20,000kip for foreigners. Sufficient F&B stalls to hv yr light meals. Natural river (small creek) from the nearby limestone hills. Tubes n lifevests are avail for rent. Only small area for floating around on tubes, so not really for tubing activities. Good picnic site for local families with young children. Roads to location are quite rough at certain location.

Unfortunately for me it was raining hard and blue lagoon 1 (there are 3) was not blue at all. It was brown the babies were swollen and overflowing. It was possible through app this to see the beauty of the place and how l lovely it would be without the reason if the last week affecting it. As is normal with this toe of place there are an abundance of market stalls trying to sell you souvenirs. Would love to see it in the dry

Free bike parking, 20,000 Kip entrance per person to the lagoon (including cave). The lagoon is busy later on in the day. The cave is a little scramble to get to, we didn’t rent torches or a guide and got to the back of the cave then turned around and came out the way we came, totalling an hour of exploring the cave.

Beautiful blue water lagoon. Very cold water as per INDIAN standards haha) but Once you jump its all good. If you like tree jumping this is the place to go, this one the closest lagoon so you will find many locals and tourists come here more often. Good places to eat, nice people, clean toilets. Outside there are some shops as well for souvenirs and clothes. In my view Lagoon 3 is best , it is more calm and backpacker friendly.

A beautiful place to have fun and enjoy a refreshing swim in a clear water lagoon. We also had a good snack there. Phu khan cave is very impressive. Good times, good memories!

Actually it’s 1 star for the lagoon, as it is sooo crowded, full of people, barbecue smoke, many food places, so turistic, but 5 stars for the cave. More you go inside the cave, more you are alone. Beautiful formations, high gallery and you do a nice loop actually, finishing in the same starting point. Be careful as it is very dark inside and there is a deep hole with an almost inexistent sign for it.

Very scenic drive to get there. Road are a little bumpy and you have to take your time getting there, but your on vacation what your rush. The lagoon is nice and blue ,you can jump off a 15 meter tree. The climb to Phu Kham cave is a little tricky, I highly recommend not going on a rainy day. Its very steep and you will need to have good shoes. Also recommend bringing or renting a head lamp so you can explore the caverns. Also highly recommended buying a prayer charm to leave inside alter at the cavern at the top. If you can't make it to the top there a alter at the bottom. Enjoy and take your time experiencing this place.

We went with an organised day tour also to Elephant cave and kayaking ( recommended for convenience and only $15 including good lunch). Water cave was great - floating on a tube, pulling yourself along on the overhead ropes. Headlamps (sometime hardhats)are provided and necessary. Try avoid big tours and busy times ( weekends?) as it's not accommodating for many people.

Super fun activity! There is a restaurant on site but comparatively it is expensive and not the best. It was 20,000 to do the cave and totally worth it. I think it took us an hour to do. Not the best place to hang out and swim after so you kinda do the cave then head out.

Pretty awesome to be fair. The water is exceptionally cold but you soon adjust. The cave has very low roof at times and if you turn your head lamps off for fun, it is absolutely and completely pitch black. There is a small section where you have to get out of your ring and walk as it is too shallow but then you carry on. The cave goes on for so long that after about half an hour of floating through, we turned around and went back. It's a truly unique experience!

We had such a great day here. Booked the water cave, elephant cave, ziplineing and kayaking through Leo's adventure tours and weren't dissapointed. Organisation was excellent and the day was lots of fun. The water cave was a real adventure

In rainy season (September) cave tubing is not possible because of high water levels in the cave. The area itself is nice and you can walk over some bridges and I think zip lining is also available. We were the only guests here. You have to pay 10000 Kip as entrance fee.

Quite a unique experience. You will be able to visit the inside of the cave while on the floating donut by using the ropes attached to the roof. The cave is quite big and the whole tour can last for ~15-20min. At times the height is very low and the current quite strong. Suggest paying the 60K Kip do have the guide coming with you to help. Very fun!

Part of a half day tour we booked. I'd recommend you book both water cave tubing + zipline here, because if you're only tubing, you still need to wait here for the people that are ziplining (approx 40 min). Ziplining here sounds fun, they take you to do 8 or 9 different lines.

The path is very short which will surprise you. But in total as it is in the package of most agencies not a bad stop here. But honestly nothing special. Both in terms of what you see inside the cave( nothing very outstanding) and the scenery.

A truly fun experience to visit caves whilst lying on a tube. Do take note that this requires some level of fitness as you need to pull yourself forward with ropes already installed in the cave.

Went here Mon 28/Aug/23 and can confirm that due to flooding from rain it is currently closed and you cannot tube through the cave. The location was almost deserted though still cool to check out if you are on your way to nearby spots like Blue Lagoon 4 or Loup Cave.

This time we went to the deepest part of the cave and it was awesome. You will love it.

Great experience ,just 40 baht around a pound with torch, tube, and life jacket. There are rope in the cave, and you just enjoy your journey by pulling yourself. It was dark, but with torch, you can see pretty much things.

It is a nice experience but please follow the right tour, some will bring you half way and ask you back , some will guide you to move more deeply. Unfortunately I have bad luck, the tour packages I join, keep rushing and all the activity time is shorter than what was supposed to be. It is irresponsible. It is not easy to get a good picture inside the water cave, hence a suggestion is to enjoy the fun rather than take a photo

I found this place by mistake because google maps is wrong in the area (are you listening Alexa?). So glad I stumbled across it, as it was a highlight of my trip. I was the only person here, so to immerse myself in the caves and turn my head torch off was simply other worldly. Pull yourself through the caves along a rope that is hung to guide you. The photos cannot possibly do this place justice!

Me and my partner had such a lovely day here. Lovely gardens, and the cave is more accessible than others as it has a path and lights. There is also a lovely fresh spring pool to swim in which was delightful. The water was crystal clear and flowing straight from the mountain. We went early and had the pool to ourselves. Definitely recommend a visit.

Worth the steep staircase. Possibly the best cave I have seen to date. The coloured lights feel a bit tacky, but at the same time make for some interesting visuals, as the light reflects off the tiny mineral deposits in the stone. Take some bathers - the water looked beautiful where the local kids were swimming.

After paying 20000kip I had the privilege of walking up some very steep steps to the entrance to the cave. Once I had handed over my ticket to the guardian of the entrance I thoroughly enjoyed a walk around inside. Well worth the ticket price and walk up; not only that but there is plenty of seating and views of the cascading stream below.

The cave is nice. Not world famous spectacular. The stairs going up were even and had good handrails. What made the time spectacular was the stream off to the side at the bottom of the stairs. It comes out of the bottom of the limestone mountain cool and refreshing. You can swim upstream in crystal clear water into the cave it comes out of. The tunnel like cave is well lit inside with natural light coming through gaps near the ceiling. The water inside is about 3 meters deep. Awesome place to picnic and spend a few hours with the locals who use it. Go on your own as the tour buses thankfully don’t stop there.

What a really beautiful cave. Paths and bridges. Plenty of light, breeze flowing through all the time. So glad i came here. A large climb firstbthough, up the steps. Surrounding parkland is stunning as well. Very tranquil. Lots of shade. Pristine clear warm water to swim in (straight out of the mountain), i spent hours here just hanging out.

Big steps to go up but it worthy! The cave is big and well managed. Everywhere is light, but at the same moment you feel all this atmosphere. There are so many different form of stalactites, that you don’t know where to look. Highly recommend!

Beautiful cave, extremely accessible and very easy (clear pathways, lights, and very spacious), and surrounded by a beautiful park! There are also food vendors outside selling drinks and snacks. There were a few other people there but overall it still felt pretty quiet. There is also a terrace at one end with gorgeous vistas!

You will pay toll twice to enter the cave: 5,000 kip at the bridge and 15,000 to climb the stairs into the cave. There are shops to buy snacks, a small swimming hole before entering the cave(very cool), and a river if you please. The cave was well lit.

The surrounding area is beautiful and free of charge with some smaller caves. The cave is not to exciting of itself although there is a nice viewpoint. If you have an extra it would be nice.

Pay 15k LAK to get in (as of Apr 2023) I like that it is cold and the scenery is great if it weren't smoggy it would be better. It is a must go either you go there by car, bycicle, or by foot (I prefer by foot). There is not a lot too explore but the lighting is good enough for you to enjoy photks eith friends and family. The caves looked great on Google because they use scenic yellow lighting. Now they just use LEDs, which is fine, as long as you can see stuff. I wouldn't go back, but I will recommend it to friends visiting for the first time.

The cave is massive and well lit with a number of different rooms you can explore. Not handicap or kid friendly in the cave as there are a couple dozen steep stone steps leading up to the cave. There's a small swimmable lagoon outside that is family friendly.

Lovely place. The stairs are steep and could be slippery but were not very long . The surroundings are wonderful. We were told later that there was a waterfall nearby but we never saw it. Great little outing.

Pretty cool cave, but not much to it - wouldn’t say it’s a must do on your itinerary, a lot of other things and places to do that a lot more worthwhile. Be warned, quite a few stairs to walk up as well! You had to pay to enter the park across the bridge and then you had to pay to enter the cave as well.

I highly recommend it! Cheap entry, nice views, not many tourists and peaceful. Also, super close to the city, so why not check it out? The steps are a little narrow sometimes but alright. You can also swim there.

It's a nice 3km walk from town, You pay 5000 kip at the first entrance which allows you access to the grounds, if you want to check out the cave it's another 10,000 kips. It's worth going up the stairs to the cave, you get a nice view and the cave is bigger than you think.

The place is amazing and must visit during your stay in Vang Vieng. Tham Chang is 15 min walk from the city center.The cave is huge and beautiful ❤️

Great caves to visit walking from the city. They are quite big and the path is well marked. You have to climb about 150 steps to get to the cave. Entance fee is 20k kip total (5k to enter the park, and then 15k to the caves). There are a few food stalls in the park in case you want to buy something to drink or snacks. It’s a good visit if you have time to kill and want to do something close to the city, but it’s not a must-see. If you want a real cave, go to Phapoungkham Cave (but you need a bike to get there), which are much less touristy.

Nice and popular cave. It was busy when we visited. There is a fee to enter the place and cross the river. And there is another one to go up to the caves. To reach the caves there is a long staircase with 141 steps. Inside the cave it is easy to walk around.

Very nice cave....147 steps to reach the entrance but worth it. Take your time, very cool inside, great views. 5,000kip to enter the park and 15,000kip to enter the cave.

A nice cave a bit hidden and off the beaten tracks, we almost had it to ourselves. Entry costs 5k per person for parking and another 15k for the cave, for that little money we were positively surprised. Give it a try, it's the less busy cave in Vang Vieng.

15,000 KIP entry for foreigners. Steep stairs to enter, but well worth it for the views alone. Inside, there's an established path that leads you around the cave, which includes a stop at a viewpoint where you'll get a decent panoramic take of Van Vieng. Very quiet when I went (a Sunday, at 2pm). To get there it's a 25 minute walk from downtown VV, and you'll need to pay 5000 KIP, in addition, to cross a wooden bridge just before the entrance. Go check it out.

Nothing special, there are better places in this area to explore. At least the road you are going to get there has amazing views.

Small shallow cave with the fame of a small (1,5m?) stalagmite that resembles an elephant. A few golden Buddahs seem second priority and other unusual figures are cast on the rocks: a large snake (Naga) head, a breastfeeding lady, an owl catching a rat..? Worth a short stop only if you in the area for the other attractions. The walk over the suspension bridge is also fun!

There wasn't much to see. Absolutely should not be anyone's itinerary.

There is a entrance fee to the elephant cave. There is nothing much to see except for the stone elephant look alike and a sleeping buddha. You should be able to complete the tour is less than 15 mins. If you happen to be there suggest you can take a walk to the water cave, biplane, soup cave, blue lagoon between 300 m to 1000 m depending where you want to go. Overall the elephant cave is disappointing.

Has a nice half hour or so here, spoke to the very friendly monk who read our fortunes and gave us a bracelet with blessings. Worth a visit

Lagoon itself is really cool, along with nice and reasonably priced food. Lookout point is also pretty. Don't miss out on the cave!! Take a flashlight (phone would do), good shoes preferably and have fun exploring! Just be careful with some slippery sections. We spent over an hour underground and were thrilled from the experience

Clear water which you can enjoy swiming, do some adventure activities or just sit and relax there. Entry fee is 20000 kip. There are foods, drinks and alcohol with reasonable price. I like fried chicken, yummy.

It's a really nice spot and it was not too crowded when I was there. I can recommend skipping lagoon 1 (it's just packed with tourists) and directly going here. The roads are okay but not good. I saw that they were working on the roads so they might be paved when you're reading this. Have a lot of fun there! PS. The sun is gone after 4pm (in November) because of the mountain right in front of the lagoon

Visited the lagoon on a cloudier day as it's towered by the Cliffs, so it doesn't see too much sun but is still definitely worth it. Cave Viewpoint is a decent 100m climb but get good views and the lagoon itself offers v good water activities 👍 tix were 20,000kip.. Bang tidy on the purse!

Great little lagoon. Busy, but worth it. There’s a cool little cave and viewpoint a short walk from the lagoon. The cave is quite small to get into so descend with care if you’re on the larger side. Tarzan swing is easy to backflip off of and the energy from the bus of Koreans was electric. Such a fun and inclusive spot and worth the price!

One of the nice and less busy lagoon. Nice place to swim and enjoy the installations like the Zipline and rope to launch yourself in the water. You can order food and drinks directly on the site. There is also a cave, which looks nothing like the pictures unless you've got a couple of huge lamps. Wear shoes to go around in it. Price is 10,000 kips per person.

The best lagoon in Vang Vieng, really cool rope swing, zip wire and jump into the lagoon and also a bamboo raft and balancing beam to play around on. This is a lot quieter than the other lagoons due to the slightly further distance but it is definitely worthy the extra time. Also remains blue in wet season due to being fed by ground water (I think the only other one that does that is lagoon 2).

Nice lagoon to swim in. The whole place has the accomodations for the tourists which was unexpected on the first glance. Restaurant is available here with food and refreshments. Service delivered to the tables, but long time of waiting. Viewpoint and the caves located nearby, but the way of getting there is quite a challenge, considering European standards there is no chance that someone would allowed to visit the places consider lack of safety standards. Nice place to spend the afternoon here.

By far the nicest lagoon in the area! It’s nice too spend lunch here and take a swim in the not too cold water! What makes the vibe good here is that it’s usually not too crowded and there is just 1 place where you can buy food and drinks. They also put some objects in the water that are fun. I liked the swing that you can use to jump into the lagoon. Had a great time here. Right across the lagoon there’s a path to some caves that you also can visit. But make sure you are prepared for a cave visit by bringing a light torch for example.

Great place. Less crowded. I was there mid summer, so the water was brown. Swing and zip line was fun. It will be nice to go when the water is blue. Food and beer available at the spot.

Amazing! A must of you go to Vang Vieng! We hired mopeds and drove there stopping at a few sights on the way! Would highly recommend & they do great food too!

This is one of the best blue lagoons i have ever seen. For tourists & backpackers is much more fun than lagoon 1 & 2 it is far from VV & in middle of a Village town so hardly any big buses come here, hence very few typical tourists or families It has zip line , Swing jump , tubes , bamboo kayak & a very nice cafe to eat or drink .. Water is always clean & flowing. You can easily spend couple of hours here.

Amazing. Try get there in the morning around 9am and it will be so quiet, the sun seems to go behind the mountain around mid day and the sun is what makes the water look bright blue. They have food and drinks here. There's also a cave to walk to which is not an easy walk through cave, there is ladders and small areas to crawl through but has a pool in the dark at the end. I did it in sandles and made it through but recommend to take good shoes it gets slippery. Definitely worth doing! Just be careful. Enjoy!!

Beautiful lagoon but unfortunately has become more of a tourist haunt than a beautiful slice of nature. Still less busy than some of the other blue lagoons in this area though You buy tickets at the entrance, 20k kip per person There is a cafe on-site, and the food looked and smelled amazing. You can buy drinks (alcoholic & non alcoholic) as well. There’s a zip line, swing rope, bamboo rafts and inflatable tubes for visitors to use. I would suggest coming before 3pm because then the sun is fully on the lagoon and the water looks amazing. There’s also small fish in the lagoon

Excellent spot. It gets busy so i would go early to get a good seat as there is no grassy area to just chill out like at 2. The cave is definitely worth checking out and don’t be fooled by the small entrance, it really opens up to some huge rooms. If you don’t have your own head torch, rent one from the food counter for like 10,000 KIP instead of using your phone, trust me you’ll have a better experience.

Best of all lagoons in area, bargain price of 20k Kip including cave pools, view point and lagoon itself which has a zip wire and swing! There are rubber rings and wooden rafts to play around on. The cave just on its own is worth 20k, it’s a huge cave that can be explored from up to an hour. I recommend renting a headlight from reception as they are a cheap price and make the cave exploring easier. The cave pools are great for a dip. There’s also a fire that’s always lit at the lagoon to warm up or to dry off. Such a fun place overall!

The nicest one among the main & more approachable lagoons from town, it gathers still a considerable amount of people but sooo much less than the 1st. Also, the cave hike is very interesting, it takes quite a walk inside to reach the lagoon and gives to a beginner (like me) a real cave experience. Only downside inside the cave, the smell (I imagine from the many people that visit..)

A bit of a disappointment, IMO, a natural attraction made into a play park. It is a comparatively small space, albeit beautiful. There are many other lagoons I’m Vang Vieng and I’m guessing others that are more beautiful. If however you just want a whole load of fun in the water for a day, this may well be the place for you. We really enjoyed our lunch, the choice wasn’t too extensive but it was very tasty and good VFM.

We only went to lagoon 1 and 3 and #3 is way better than #1. A little less crowded, more of a jungle feeling, furnished with a zip line, rafts and floaties. Entrance is 20k kip, like all the others. There's a little restaurant/food corner, many bungalows and picnic tables with umbrellas.

Cruelty free way of seeing elephants in their natural habitat. We were given a lot of information about Asian elephants and where our money goes. You get close up to feed them and splash around with. Great to see them just being elephants. No riding, no chains, no harming. If they don't want to do something, they won't do it. Total love and respect for them here. I highly recommend this tour!

Amazing place, spent the whole day there with the elephants! Walked and fed them, walked and had a mud pack with them! And walked and swam with them, then fed them some more which was hilarious, never had so much fun! Truly recommend, and will be doing it again soon!

We decided to go on a half day tour and it turned out like everything we hoped it to be. The drive to the sanctuary took about an hour through the most scenic of landscapes. Everybody was really kind and friendly to us, but most importantly to the four elephants. It was truly amazing to see the animals in their more or less natural environment, they were happy to walk with us and took a mud bath before they splashed us with water. The owner is a very considerate and animal loving Lao on his mission to help former working elephants to regain a healthy and self-determined life. The tour money is spent on food and rent money he pays the owners of the elephants, so he can keep them in the sanctuary. Worth every penny and highly recommendable!!

Amazing experience to see the elephants. They are treated well here. No chains, no fences, they can roam free wherever they like. You can have a mudbath with them, feed them and a little swim!

What an incredible time we had with this sustainable,caring and real elephant sanctuary . We did lots of reading before hand, wanting to find an elephant tour that was not harmful and this one was wonderfully reviewed so booked. We were picked up from our hotel and drove for an hour into the jungle where Go (the wonderful owner) then went on to explain his story, how he did not own any of the elephants here, but only hopes to rescue them and pay for them to stay in his land where they roam free. No chains, no rides and the elephants come first! We trecked for ten minutes before he called one to us. We fed and got up close with these wonderful animals before giving them a mud bath and swam with them. Go is an incredibly passionate person and all the money from tickets goes towards saving more elephants. A truly wonderful day we will never forget!

5 stars is not enough!!! This was an amazing experience and would 100% recommended!! ‘Go’ the owner is very nice and informative and is doing an amazing job saving these elephants from poaching and the cruel tourist trade of riding and keeping them in confined spaces. If you have a half or full day, this experience is worth ever dollar/kip!!

We went to the Ssnctuary before the pandemic started. It was a memorable experience that we highly recommend. The elephants are well looked after and have acres of jungle to room about in as well as a large lake to drink from and swim in. The owner truly cares about the welfare of the animals. We loved spending time with the elephants. The trip is worth every penny!
