The Malaga Automobile Museum is a fascinating place where you can explore a variety of classic cars, fashion and art. The museum features over 90 classic vehicles from different brands, as well as displays of couture clothing and hats. It's perfect for car enthusiasts of all genders, and is one of the most interesting museums in Malaga.
We really enjoyed the museum! I preferred the cars over the fashion but both were interesting to see. We didn’t use the audio guide but the info cards explained each thing well. I particularly enjoyed the early 1900s cars. The museum is large but you can take your time and finish in about 2 hours.

If you are looking for something different, this is it. This is a blend of rare, classic and stunning stylish cars and the fashion of the era. Many of the cars here I never heard of, companies that went bust, prototypes and early models that were designed for the rich and fabulous. Well worth a visit, the ear wand was great for 2 euro extra. No.7 bus from the center will get you here and the m110 will get you back to the holiday areas of Belamadina. They also do a night visit from 10pm to 11pm which looked great.

What a fantastic exhibition!
We're not car enthusiasts in the slightest but decided to go here on a whim (saw it mentioned on a review of the Hop on Hop Off bus tour).
The displays are great, great mix of cars and some fashion dresses reflecting the era. Cars are in beautiful condition and each one has a small description plate.
Building is deceiving big with a lot to see (casual stroll and photos took us about an hour).
I'm so glad we visited, I highly recommend visiting.

A very interesting concept showing cars with fashion set in a spacious environment filled with natural light. A story goes with each car and fashion piece for context and background. A limited range of cars but still interesting. An afternoon suited to me and my wife 👍

There is an audio guide available.
Overall fun! And some very cool historical pieces can be foumd there!

We visited as a family and it was very reasonably priced to get in. I must admit, I didn’t think it was really my thing, even I really enjoyed it. They have a great collection of cars and there’s not too much reading the signs also. They’re in English as well as Spanish. 10/10 we spent about 60/90 mins here. What a lovely place.

Awesome! It was a pleasure fory eyes and my mind. Very stylish decorations and interesting exposition. I spent there almost two hours because it was interesting to read the history and explanations.
There were two bathrooms and places to sit. In the main hall there were a souvenir shop with nice things to buy.

I am a fan off vintage cars, I mean I don't know much about car but I just love and enjoy watching the way how they look like back in the old days. It is very worthy to visit if you are a fan of old cars!! They are presented nicely and each one has its own description. It was really satisfying to look at them 🚘

This museum is well worth your time. We paid extra to take a tour in the Aston Martin. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Ricardo was excellent to drive with. Kind of jealous of Ricardo—he has a great job and does it well. The clothing on the mannequins matches the time period of each car and there are small pockets of other clothing and engines displayed throughout the museum. This experience was, by far, our favorite of Malaga.
Crissy Stephan — Google review
Such a fantastic place! The brightest impression that I have got in Malaga. I adored the exhibition, it is splendid! I tried to read each description of cars and outfits to dive deeper into their history, it's brief but informative. I highly recommend this place! You utterly will not regret :)

Listen. If you go to malaga. YOU HAVE TO VISIT THIS PLACE. Especially if your a car guy. There are so many classic cars. From an Aston Martin db4, a buggati type 57 and a Mercedes 300sl gull-wing worth 1.5million euro. I've never been so excited and amazed by a museum.

If you're a car lover this is the place for you.
Each car comes with a piece of history in the form of a plaque next to each car.
The cars are well maintained from an aesthetic perspectivr even those from the 20's or 40's.
Mirela Ignat — Google review
Fantastic experience all around. Me and my girlfriend visited and paid only 6€/pp since we are university students. There is a lot to see here a ton of cool cars and fashion from the same era.
Staff is super friendly and welcoming also you can read about every car from the plaque. They have it in spanish and in english. If you want there is also an audio tour available for 2€/person more but me and my girlfriend don’t usually like to do those so we opted out.
What I like about this place the most is that everything is very clean and organized. Also its such a pleasure to look at beautiful cars in this ligtning that they have. Everything is just so nice
Daniel Turkia — Google review
Excellent. Free parking on site. Not the normal car museum. The selection of cars is on the basis of design for the period. The context is assisted with fashion items also from the period. There is an audio guide included. Good toilets. Pleasant coffee/snack vendor outside. Offers on ticket prices if book in advance. An interesting couple of hours.

Nous avons adoré la combinaison autos et mode. J'ai été émue de revoir des vêtements que ma mère a porté ou acheté pour ses boutiques au Québec surtout le manteau et le chapeau de fourrure. Merci beaucoup 😄🌹

We loved the combination of cars and fashion. I was moved to see clothes that my mother wore or bought for her boutiques in Quebec, especially the fur coat and hat. Thank you very much 😄🌹

We were awed by the beautiful cars, dresses, hats, lamps, painted engines, artwork and more. The curves and colors of some cars blew us away. I can't imagine anyone not getting some joyous moments from this collection of vintage and rare items. A bright and spacious building to slowly stroll around. Stop and read the info panels; look up at the art on the walls; picture yourself in wearing the hat or dress in front of you; and of course picture yourself driving that Black Cat! Give yourself at least 2 hours to view the collection. The only flaw to the experience was the underwhelming gift shop - so small, with only a few items for sale. A lost marketing opportunity that should be addressed immediately. Otherwise, a must-see museum in Malaga.
Sue Jeakins — Google review
One of the best museums I've visited. The cars and fashion are a fantastic complementing mix. The natural light in the display areas makes this such a pleasant and airy museum. A great collection and well worth the 10€ entry fee. I will visit again. Loved it!
Michael Chadwell — Google review
Even though I rushed the visit, I only managed to properly see half of the museum (arrived 2 hours before closing time) ; didn't manage to see the movie cars exhibition at all unfortunately.
Not only is the collection of cars and clothes/hats/bags and other objects breathtaking, it's of historic importance. I would spend an entire week in that place if I could 🥹
I do wish there was more space in order to be able to walk all around each car and see from all angles. Would also love more Infos / details about the cars and clothes. Car enthusiasts probably would wish more motors to be exposed and more interiors to be visible.
But it's a must for fashion historians and vintage enthusiasts.
Marion Descamps — Google review
Very comprehensive museum. Nice touch to place historically appropriate clothing to each car's time period. Short but informative information about each car in Spanish and English. Must be one of the best museums in its sjanger.

I have been to a few Motoring museums before, but, this is the best I have seen. Allow at least 2 hours to view all the cars at your leisure. The fashion element of the presentation was really good too. The whole experience is so cool and sophisticated, a must see in Málaga.

Unexpected gem of a place!!
Something for everyone, including highly detailed & exotic fashion exhibits, one off experimental vehicles & Mussolini´s Parade Car!
Of note is the Milburn electric vehicle from 1916. It offered a range of 80 km (70 miles) and could run up to 25 kph (15 mph).
Otherwise, some fabulous & unusual ICE vehicles, especially the Aston Martin DB4, which I fell in love with ;0 I decided that is such a gentlepersons car compared to the rather tarty E Type :)
I enjoyed that hearse as well!!
My only criticism is that it would have made a complete experience to have had an educational cut out of an ICE engine & gearbox (preferably moving) to explain how the system works & the 4 stroke cycle, most of these vehicles run on. Maybe next to the pancaked Morris Minor, which explains perfectly that your car is not an indestructable piece of engineering, but a rather vulnerable collection of parts :]

Port of Málaga, situated just a stone's throw away from the city center, is an attractive and trendy seaport that features a variety of restaurants, bars, and fashion boutiques. Despite being one of the oldest ports in the Mediterranean region, it exudes a distinctly contemporary vibe with its harbor filled with luxurious superyachts and tall skyscrapers towering over the palm tree-lined promenade.
The Port of Malaga is very nice, especially at sunset. The beauty of the harbor is complemented by a vibrant atmosphere, with cool restaurants and shops adding to the lively vibe.

We stopped overnight at the Port of Malaga on October 17th, 2022. It's a nice walk along the pier to a number of waterfront restaurants, or a quick taxi ride to visit Malaga's historic center where you can get retail therapy, eat to your heart's content and see the Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga.

A great area to explore ways something nautical to observe & much more besides. Bars shop & restaurants line one side of the port. The side nearest the city has nice gardens to stroll through & there is a childrens' play area. Boat trips can be booked as well. This is a good area to walk around away from the bustle of the city.

Visited Malaga today to see the Symphony of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world and she is beautiful, I couldn’t get right up close but the visit was worth it. Had some lunch and enjoyed sitting in the cafes on the port and in the City Centre. Malaga is a special vibrant city and well worth visiting there is always something to do and see. The shopping in the Port is also very good.

Lovely port for a surprisingly wonderful port city. Yes, it is a long 30 minute walk from the port to the town and parks.... BUT their port is one of the nicest we have seen. Shops, bathrooms, restaurants, art installations, and covered walkways. This was a pleasure to walk through and clearly an attraction for residents AND tourists. This port was a real surprise for us and we strongly recommend you stay in town if you have never been here. Lovely and adorable ancient town with intact walls, gardens, old city center and markets, churches, palaces, and a castle. Almost a fairy tale like town. Save Granada and Cordoba for later and enjoy this great town!
Church of the Incarnation in Malaga is a 16th-century baroque cathedral with ornate choir stalls and a museum. It's an iconic national landmark with beautiful architecture and a rich cultural atmosphere.
I've never seen a cathedral quite like this one before. It's wonderful. The architecture is beautiful, there's so much art and adornments everywhere. On a Tuesday, we queued for about 10-15 minutes, nothing too bad. The entrance is paid, but there are many reduced ticket options. The cathedral entrance fee for students is 4€ and if you want to go see the tower as well, that's 7€ in total. You can pay with a credit card there. I highly recommend bringing your phone and earphones, as you are provided with a QR code for an audio guide that you can listen to on your phone. It's worth it going around with the audio guide which shares a lot of interesting information about the cathedral. Absolutely worth a visit when in Málaga.

This is one of the most impressive cathedrals I have seen in Europe. The cost to get in was €8 for the main building and another €4 if you wanted to do the roof top walk. The size and opulence of this place is truly amazing. There is an audio guide for your phone you get as part of the entrance fee, so I would advise bringing headphones for your phone. While it can seem like all the churches and cathedrals blend into one another when traveling Europe, this one stands out due to the star size and beauty. The audio tour was well done and it will take you about 1.5 hours. All in all a great spot.

Beautiful architecture but lackluster overall.
Price - Too much for such a short experience, as you could experience most of it in a very short ammount of time.
Atmosphere- Actually very nice atmosphere.
Translation or other aid - Functional, but wish it was preprogrammed into automatically play as you go.
Ended up not using it after only a few tries.
Overall a beautiful location to visit, but be aware the price isn’t the best, and there are multiple other locations that offer more value for it’s price.

Taken me a few months to get around to posting. But if you are visiting Málaga soon you should definitely make a stop to Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga. The photos don't really do justice to just how vast the space is, and how decadent it is. It was lovely to visit such an amazing piece of history.

🇨🇦 review here. Happened by this Cathedral and there was no line so I went in not even knowing what it was. WOW what a place. They have an absolutely excellent audio guide for free (with wifi) on your phone. Great explanations. Lots of places to sit while listening. It wasn’t busy so there was lots of space when I was there on a Wednesday midday. I recommend it for the low entry fee.
Anne Marie Lorusso, Realtor — Google review
Does it make the top 10 list of cathedrals? Probably not. Is it worth paying the entrance fee? Probably if you combine it with the tower option which gives great views over the city. There's a free audio guide you can upload onto your phone with a QR code which also helps add some meaning.
However from the outside it is an imposing structure and gives some great photo options both during the day and at night. There are a couple of restaurants and bars in the square facing the front which make a great spot to enjoy the view and a glass of wine in the evening.

Beautiful and impressive cathedral from in an outside. You should buy the ticket for inside (8€) and rooftop (4€), really worth to see both. The rooftop (200 stairs) has a beautiful view all over the city. Please inform yourself for the entry times of the rooftop, early afternoon its may not accessible because of the heat outside.
Fabiola took us to the roof, she was really nice and exuded positive energy with her smile. Thank you very much Fabiola.

The Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga, more commonly known as Málaga Cathedral, is an awe-inspiring masterpiece that stands as a testament to the city's rich history and architectural heritage. My recent visit to this magnificent cathedral left me in utter admiration of its grandeur and spiritual significance.
Upon approaching the cathedral, I was immediately struck by its imposing Renaissance and Baroque façade. The intricate stonework, delicate carvings, and towering twin bell towers create a sense of majesty that is simply breathtaking. The cathedral's exterior is a harmonious blend of architectural styles, reflecting the various periods of its construction, which began in the 16th century and continued for over two centuries.
Stepping inside, I was greeted by a vast interior adorned with stunning works of art and religious artifacts. The light filtering through the stained-glass windows cast vibrant hues on the marble columns, adding to the cathedral's ethereal ambiance. The central nave's soaring vaulted ceiling was an engineering marvel of its time, and it exudes a sense of celestial splendor.
One of the most striking features of Málaga Cathedral is its impressive choir stalls, intricately carved with biblical scenes and figures. These stalls are true masterpieces of craftsmanship, and they provide a glimpse into the artistic achievements of the past.
Málaga Cathedral's rooftop tour offered a breathtaking panorama of the city and the Mediterranean Sea. The opportunity to get up close to the cathedral's unique architectural elements, including the ornate spire and weather vane, made the experience all the more
The cathedral's grandeur, artistic treasures, and rich heritage make it a truly remarkable destination that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.

This a very grand building, it's worth the visit just to observe the sheer size of it. The craftsmanship it a thing to behold and it has a layout quite different to many of the Cathedrals I've visited in the past.
We arrived late in the day so there were no queues as such. We also didn't go to the roof but it's reccomend if you have the time and don't mind heights.
Over all very impressive!

My visit to Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga was nothing short of spectacular. The moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the grandeur and beauty of this historical marvel. The intricate architecture, stunning stained glass windows, and ornate decorations left me in awe.
The atmosphere inside the cathedral is serene and peaceful, allowing for a truly spiritual experience. The knowledgeable guides provided fascinating insights into the cathedral's rich history and significance, enhancing my appreciation for this architectural masterpiece.
Exploring the chapels and admiring the artwork was a delightful journey through time and culture. The attention to detail in every corner of the cathedral is truly impressive, showcasing the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans who contributed to its creation.
I was also impressed by the friendly and welcoming staff, who were more than willing to answer questions and share their passion for the cathedral. Whether you're a history enthusiast, art lover, or simply seeking a moment of tranquility, a visit to Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga is a must. It's an enriching experience that I will cherish, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Málaga.

Lovely inside but worth the €8 to get inside? Absolutely not. I’ve seen far more ornate cathedrals in Spain and elsewhere (Toledo as one example), for free. It’s also quite small inside despite the huge exterior. I’m glad I came for the free visit at 8:30am-9am (everyday M-Sat) and was there no more than a half hour myself. A few other people also joined my stroll around inside. It’s also quite dim that early in the morning, so many of the finer internal features are obscure. Might be lighter later in the day…

Beautiful view from the roof about entire Malaga could even be more beautiful then the Cathedral inside. It's a lot of stairs bro get up but the view is stunning.
We did the last tour of the day and it gives a nice play of sunset colours as well.

The inside is as impressive as the outside. Definitely worth it. Be sure to buy a ticket that includes access to the tower! The views are great. The personnel speaks English very well so communication shouldn't be a problem.
P.S. Whoever tells you there are 200 steps to the rooftop is lying. There are 183 😂

Beautiful Cathedral. We stayed for mass to get the full experience. The church closes when mass is in progress. One of the exterior characteristics is that one of the bell towers was never completed. You can see the unfinished tower in pictures. The interior is gorgeous and cavernous. Worth the time.

The main sight in Malaga. An impressive and beautiful cathedral, inside and out. As it took over 250 years to build (from 1528 to 1782), you'll see a mix of different architectural styles, mostly Renaissance and Baroque. Construction slowed down because funds were rerouted to support the US war of Independence. To this day, the second tower remains unbuilt, which gave the church the nickname "The One-armed Lady". Two impressive organs. Entry for adults is €8, which contributes towards restoration. Waiting time was 5-10min. Free audio guide. Wheelchair and stroller accessible. Optionally, you can also buy tickets to visit the rooftop.to get great views of the city.

This world famous museum in Málaga, home to more than 200 pieces of art by famed artist Pablo Picasso, opened its doors to the public in 2003. The permanent collection features paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints from Picasso's early years through to his later works. Programs throughout the year offer visitors a range of interesting cultural activities such as seminars, conferences, visual arts exhibitions and classical music concerts.
A popular museum with different formats of artworks from Picasso. It’s a tourist hotspot so there was a long line outside the museum. I also had to wait to see each of the artwork after people moved on to the next one.
The numerous collections could depict the career of Picasso. The audio guide, with a variety of languages, was helpful for me to learn about the historical, social context of the artworks.
After the main exhibit, there’s also a exhibit to compare and explain how Picasso’s works could relate to some old artists.
I spent a total of 1.5 hours to finish the museum, in which I listened to every single of the audio clip.
You could carry your bag in the museum, but it’s required to carry it in front of your chest.
Price: €7

A beautiful museum with lots of art from Pablo Picasso. Recommend to buy the tickets before due to long waiting time. Biggest pieces from Picasso are here in the museum. But the museum could be a bit bigger. Audio guide is included and in many languages available.

For any art lover, I would totally recommend this place. The way they have designed the exhibitions and the house selected tell a good story of Picasso life. And the world knows Picasso mostly for his cubist paintings, but I was really enchanted by his sculpture work, specially with metal. It was good. Recommend to take a ticket online (there’s a separate but very long queues) and they don’t allow water from outside, which is fair. But they should provide some water. The museum cafe is a joke with 500 ml bottle for 2 Euros.

A fascinating walk through Picasso's long life. You will find rooms you like more than others, but it shows the full depth and range of the artist. Allow an hour. And purchase tickets in advance (even same day), it will save you an hour+ wait in the queue.

A very nice museum, probably to best in Malaga. You can buy tickets online and queue for about 40 minutes or buy them at the entrance and go back to queue after 3pm.
The museum has 2 main rooms, one per floor, both dedicated to Picasso himself.
The last space is for temporary installations.
All around a good experience, but it’s a crowded space with too many people per room.

Great experience, an interesting museum, a must visit for all art lovers. Located in a palace from 16th century in the middle of the Old town.
Collection offers good insight into Picasso's evolution. Good audio guide or you can download a free museum app. Tickets from 9€ but recommend to buy a combine ticket for both exhibitions.
Free on Sundays afternoon.
Blichar Patrik — Google review
Housed in an old palace in the old town. A relatively small collection of works that were bequeathed by Picasso's daughter in law. Mostly minor pieces from each stage of Picasso's development, though with a strong selection of late paintings from the 50s and 60s. Not in the same league as the phenomenal collections in Paris and Barcelona, but worth a visit if you have a spare hour. Recommend buying an advance ticket online to skip the queues...

The Picasso Museum in Malaga is a fantastic experience, even if you're not an art expert. The diverse collection, informative guides, and accessible presentation make it enjoyable for all. Picasso's art comes to life, and the historic building adds to the charm. Don't miss it!

Booked on line, had to queue as we got there 20 minutes early. On line queue was shorter than those buying the ticket on the day. We did get in at the allocated time. Free audio guide. Fantastic building and setting for a museum. 19 euro for 2 people. We are not big art lovers, but we did enjoy the Picasso Museum in his home town. Don't forget you can also visit his birth place which is only a few minutes walk away from the museum(3 euro entry)

Without a doubt, one of the places you must visit when in Malaga. A wonderful collection of works not only by Picasso but also by artists who continued this art movement. Amazing paintings and sculptures from various periods of the artist's work. The works of others are also amazing and the time spent here will be one of the best in Malaga!

Let’s start with the most important. Picasso exhibition was (temporarily) closed during out visit!
So we were able just to see a few of Picasso’s pictures. This is a reason for 3 stars only. Otherwise I would rate with 5*.
We really liked the museum built nicely into an anciant house. The exhibition area is spaceous, clean and well-lighted. Unfortunately, we could see mostly pieces of art inspirated by Picass, as the permanet exhibition was closed due to reconstruction. There is also a coffeshop, garden and 2 shops with books and souveniers. Downstairs you can see ancient ruins. The toillets are downstairs as well.
We were lucky to visit the museum during the bank holiday for free (and you can probably do it also on Sundays afternoons). If you decide to pay for the ticket check first if the Picasso permanent exhibition is reopened.
You hato to store your baggage in the lockers (for free). Free wifi available. No restrictions to taking photos.

Museum wasn’t fully opened. There was only one exposition. It was nice but I was there for 40 minutes. There was painting of another painters. For me was best to visit basement. There was ruins of old Roman building. And entrance price you will get also audio guide for free, in English :). Enjoy your stay.

🇨🇦 review here. This was a must see for me but I only arrived in the last hour it was open. It’s not a bit exhibit so that was enough time. I was lucky that it wasn’t busy so there was lots of space between people but there is nowhere to sit so prepare to stand all the time. You can get very very close to the paintings which is nice. The audio guide on your phone (with wifi) is great. There is an amazing sculpture where you can see Picasso’s fingerprints!

Once in Malaga, you need to visit this Museum which covers the whole spectrum of creation of Pablo Picasso. Impressive setting and magnificent works of art. During high season period, you may encounter some waiting in line in order to enter. But you will be fully compensated by the remarkable feeling this place has to offer.

“A picture lives only by one who looks at it” (Picasso 1881-1973). Every painting brings you to a sense of beauty and deep emotions and thoughts. Pablo Picasso is indeed one of the greatest modern artists of the century.

From all the Picasso museums I have been (Barcelona, Paris and his house in Malaga) this was definitely the best. Great artwork in both the permanent and temporary exhibitions. If you like Picasso's artwork you must come to this museum and expect to stay there for about 2 hours.
I reserved for the first time in the morning and it was worth it as I got the museum emptier than usual.
Just be sure to buy your tickets a couple days in advance. I forgot to do it and the website was not working. Gladly I managed to buy tickets for the next day directly in the ticket office.
Bruno Macedo — Google review
A famous museum for the artist, Pablo Picasso, who was born in Malaga. The museum is well-kept and clean. However, it was extremely crowded with crowd control in almost every gallery. Exhibits are also a bit confusing in terms of linear order. Too many students are here being rowdy and just disrupting the space on a weekday.
For the price (with audio guide), it is just a bit of a shame. The place is nice to visit but you won’t suffer if you miss it.
Nat G — Google review
Great museum! They have a lot of Picasso's art. You can spend at least 2 hours looking at them. I want to say more than 40 artworks plus other artists'. I recommend buying tickets in advance just in case. When I went it was pretty full.
Kidder Davila — Google review
Gorgeous museum in an old palace. That said, most of the more popular paintings are held in other museums. This museum talks to you about Picasso’s story and legacy, with what feels like more artwork by others that were inspired by him than by the man himself.
There is a curious area, “archeology”, where you get to see some ruins under the museum.
Giving it 4 stars as there wasn’t as much Picasso as you’d expect from his museum.
Cristina G. — Google review
One hears the Picasso name and instantly associates him with art. I can't say I fully know and appreciate his work, but it was until today's visit, that I was positive overall about some of his colourful abstract pieces.
However, this visit to the Picasso Museum has made me decide that I DON'T actually like his works. I am sure he has his fans, but I find his pieces vulgar, aesthetically unpleasant, and uninteresting. Some of his art is not suitable for under 12s in my view.
The museum venue itself is quite classy, but the outside queues are typically long. The rooms could be confusing for some people, and there seems to be a lack of a system to progress from one place to another in a logical manner.
For me, the large crowds and queues are a case of the "Picasso brand" attracting the mainstream - but in the end, I found this visit a very damp squid experience and rather tasteless. It did nothing for me personally.

Tip: Get there early as there is always a long queue. Can get quite busy inside which makes it hard to appreciate the work without feeling a little rushed. But beautiful building and outstanding art!

Picasso Museum in Malaga
When you are in Malaga, you cannot miss visiting the Picasso Museum. You can understand and love Picasso, you can not accept his paintings and work in general, but the multifacetedness of Picasso's work is amazing. Work with paints and canvas, pencil and paper, clay, ceramic, metal, etc.
The museum also has a special exhibition of the works of Picasso's followers
When the building where the museum is located was restored, the remains of ancient buildings of the 7th-3rd centuries BC were found. You can see it on the basement floor
Entrance fee is 13 euros when you buy at the entrance and 12 euros when you buy online. The ticket includes an audio guide. The museum has a cafe and a couple of souvenir shops

Great place to spend time getting to know ancient history of the region. The museum has several floors. Each floor with a different exhibition. Mostly I enjoyed archeology. Though the third floor and terrace was close during my visit. I recommend the place for people seeking to know the history of the region better.

Alcazaba is a Moorish-style medieval fortress overlooking the sea, with lush, fountain-filled gardens. It's been extensively restored and gives a taste of life in the 11th century.
You must not miss this visit.
If you want to take interior photos without a lot of people in them, it is better to come in the morning at the opening.
Beautiful space with little gardens, squirrels and pigeons nested in the walls. Very nice view overlooking the sea and the city. It has a lot off little things similar to Alhambra.

I really loved the place!
It is equally interesting and intriguing in each of its parts.
The outside gives you a beautiful view on the city while the internal part is full of cozy and wonderful gardens where to walk and relax immersed in history.
Very amazing place

Very enjoyable visit for just €3.50 with a QR code on display inside the entrance you can access the multilingual audio tour, this makes for an easy 1 hour 30 mins self guided tour of one of Málaga’s dominant historical structures. Free Audio tour is a must to enhance your visit all Complimented by great views of the city and port.

Very interesting palace/fortification built in the years of Muslim occupation in Spain. The beautiful architecture and gardens are well worth the visit. The admission price is insignificant compared to the sights to be seen. Excellently maintained but there is only so much that can be done for accessibility. Lots of steps and some are steep to see everything. Ramp and/or elevator at both entrances.

It was such a wonderful place, with many tour guides hosting groups of people. Remember to bring some headphones that connect to your phone, as they have audio terminals available.
I also appreciated their price scaling for situations of importance (lower income, elderly, etc). I went with the regular, measley €5,50 for 48 hours I believe.
A fun aside, there was a couple taking their wedding photos there!
I completely recommend the visit and you will see Málaga as it was meant to be seen!
Also, they have easy to use self help kiosks to buy your tickets. Didn't take long at all.

The Alcazaba of Málaga is a beautiful and historic fortress that offers stunning views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea. I highly recommend visiting the Alcazaba, especially on Sundays when it is free to enter from 2pm.
The views from the Alcazaba are simply breathtaking. You can see the entire city of Málaga spread out below you, as well as the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains. The fortress itself is also very impressive, with its well-preserved walls and towers.
I would recommend taking the long walk up to the Alcazaba, as it is well worth it. The walk itself is quite enjoyable, as you pass through narrow streets and alleyways lined with shops and restaurants. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the city and the sea.
The Alcazaba is a must-see for anyone visiting Málaga. It is a beautiful and historic place with amazing views. I highly recommend visiting on Sundays when it is free to enter from 2pm.
Here are some additional tips for visiting the Alcazaba:
* Wear comfortable shoes, as the walk up to the fortress can be quite steep.
* Bring water, especially if you are visiting on a hot day.
* Be sure to visit the towers for the best views.
* Take your time and enjoy the walk through the fortress.
* If you are visiting on a Sunday, be sure to arrive early to avoid the crowds.

This is a fantastic place well managed. It's a fresh place with lots of vegetation, beautiful pieces of building and old stones mixed to modern repairs.
You can cross road with some squirrels here who are not really afraid if you are calm and gentle.

It is great place to see and visit. Views are stunning and it is totally worth it.
There is audio guide which you can connect to with the phone by scanning the QR code. You can really enjoy walking around and exploring and listening to the history. Views are amazing especially if you visit close to sunset. Also there is a bar so you can refresh and make a stop during sightseeing.
Definitely worth to explore and you can easily spend half of the day walking around.
Tickets can be bought on the machine at the entrance. Can be combined with the Gibralfaro castle visit.

Not really authentic. Most buildings were lost to time, replaced by houses, and rebuilt to (what they taught was) the original shape only recently. And the views are obviously not as good as from the upper Gibralfaro castle. But it's so cheap, and the audio guide is full of nice historical information, it's still worth the visit. Don't miss the audio guide QR code just after the entrance! FYI, the two castles are connected, but you cannot use the connection, and have to go around.

Nice castle to visit. Went on a "small group tour" from our cruise ship. When we got to the castle it was very crowded. The structure is in good shape and it is worth seeing. There is not a lot of information or historical pieces to see there.

Fantastic, if very touristy, site that is super cheap to enter. I didn’t get the audioguide (virtual only so you’re SOL if you have no data on your phone, or like me, it just didn’t connect). I still enjoyed regardless walking around the structures and the gorgeous views from the ramparts. Spent about an hour. Buy a ticket online to cut the queue.

Interesting and inexpensive if combined with the castle. Only issue is that there should be an exit to continue on to the castle and not go all the way back down to go back up. Well preserved and great views

Very fun place to visit and less busy than expected. Very peaceful place with good views for those who don't want to climb up to the castle (Very tiring in the heat). Price of entry (2,50 € for both venues for students) was an absolute bargain.

Beautiful place all the buildings are well preserved except for the exterior walls but its normal. The views are amazing and breathtaking. All the plants are vibrantly green and amazing, a lot of the flowers have a very pleasant smell also.
The pigeons are cute and pretty, and somehow there is not a lot of waste from them which is good. You need to get ready for a lot of walking, but it's definitely worth it.

It was easy to buy tickets on arrival. There are various concessions, plus they also have free days on the weekend.
There are plenty of steps and uphill walk so be prepared.
Beautiful inside. So much history.
And there is also a lift on the road which is at the side of the ramp.
It is signposted.
Tickets are also available at the lift entrance so need to climb up to the main entrance, buy tickets and walk all the down and to the side to get the lift.

Castle is pretty nice but prepare your feet’s:). There is many stairs and also you must walk up to hill. But there is so many nice spots to have nice pictures. Thera are nice gardens with fountains and water strings. Enjoy your stay a relax in gardens or inside house to get more energy.

A tremendous evocation of what the original fort/palace must have been like (I understand that it is partially restored). The palatial elements at the top of the hill (beautiful courtyards with pools and planting) contrast with the fort-like elements lower down. Great views of the city, port and mountains all round. We took the lift to the top (from around the side) and worked our way down. A beautifully sited cafe/bar quite close to the main gatehouse (again with great views). The combined admission price with the Gibralfaro castle (€5.50) is a steal!

Cool, but I agree that if you have been to the Alhambra it won't wow you the same way. You can walk up the back road for free if the views are what you're after - and they are beautiful. However I think it would've been better if I'd gotten a guide or an audio tour, so that may be my fault. :)

Visiting the castle was nothing short of enchanting. The grandeur of its towering walls and the rich history embedded in every stone made for a captivating journey through time. The breathtaking panoramic views from the castle grounds were a highlight, offering a glimpse into a bygone era. Impeccably preserved, the castle exudes a sense of mystery and majesty. A truly awe-inspiring experience that transports you to a world of medieval splendor.

Great views, vendors with food or jewellery located around the castle but you need to prepare your feet because it's a very long walk I would really recommend not having a heavy bag/backpack because it's going to weigh you down and make the walk very uncomfortable if you walk the whole distance but if you walk a short distance it's ok, the seagulls are alright with you taking photos of them they might glance at you strangely ( like I've captured in the photos) but apart from that they are chill
Thank you for reading this review I appreciate it

Very cool historical site with gorgeous views of city and interesting architecture. Scan the free audio tour with €3.50 ticket price to enhance the experience. Afterwards, walk up the path beside the Alcazaba to see the castle but I don’t recommend buying an entrance ticket as much of the castle wall walks were closed and you get same views on the walk up. Toilets are onsite. BONUS: the Alcazaba has a very cute pizzeria on site to enjoy with sweeping city views.

The castle of Gibralfaro is a 10th-century palace that overlooks Malaga from up high. It is an attraction not to be missed during your visit and has been mostly restored, with a military museum. To get there, you can either take the bus or hike up the hill.
Absolutely stunning views of Málaga, though be prepared for quite the steep and relatively long walk up. If you wear the right shoes and clothing, it’s well worth it. Admission is cheap and you pay once you reach the top. There’s a small museum and beautiful views all around. Signage is lacking so the experience is entirely self-guided and interpreted. There’s a nice bar with great drinks and snacks too that made the journey extra worth it. I highly recommend the hike.

It is seriously frustrating coming to Spain to speak Spanish and Sunday, I've heard English, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, and only the taverns spoke Spanish. The place is serious walking. Measured 12000 steps up, just up. The castle close by is a dream HOWEVER, as someone 58 years old, I'm super glad I did the highest fortress first!! The walk through the castle is a museum and it's intense, accompanied by the Roman Amphitheater. All that first would have lowered my drive. Oh! Are you a video gamer? Tell me where you find a scene from Witcher 3 in the castle grounds. Look for it! He had to kill them all. Tell me when you find it!!

It looks like a fort with great views of the city and a low entrance fee.
Our Taxi driver was unaware of where the main entrance to the castle was and we ended up being dropped at the bottom of the hill. This resulted in a long climb to get to the top, only to be greeted by a few cars and a tour bus.
The castle had well maintained gardens and a little building with some historically relevant objects and information.
The path going around the top of the walls is quite narrow and preferably should be one way but worth it enough for the views.

Long and steep walk to this castle on the edge of Málaga but worth every step of it for the incredible views of the city and surrounding area. The castle itself is pretty cool too and worth the small entrance fee. A great way to spend a couple of hours.

Very nice place to spend 1-2 hours when the sun is not strong. (The last entry time is around 19:00) If you take the bus no.35 from the main road(the big one between the green park), the total cost would be 6.3 Euro per person ( entry 3.5 + bus 1.4 x 2 ). The stairs are somewhat high so wearing comfortable shoes is recommended.
* Tips for public transportation as I leaned :)
- Bus : 1.4 Euro per each ride
The driver takes small cash (no 10 Euro bill!)
or you can pay w/ VISA/Master card (great!)
- Metro: (only) 0.3 Euro per each ride
So never charge a high amount!!! There is no refund function in the machine.
And there is no integrated ticket for bus+metro.

The view while going up this place it's amazing 🤩🤩🤩 You can see the whole city from above, as well as the sea and harbor.
The way up is a little suffocating, mostly if you go in summer, because of the heat. I would recommend wearing sports shoes and comfortable clothes, as well as a hat and taking a bottle of water. Although, you may find some people on the way, who sell bottles of water for 1€.
The tickets to go inside the castle cost 3.50€ per person and have different offers, in case you want to visit the other edification next to the castle too. Once inside, there is a little bar, where you can sit and drink something at a very nice terrace with a wonderful view, again. There are restrooms as well. Beautiful views but lost a star because of the disrespectful treatment from security gate personnel.
I am a student (in England) so I attempted to purchase the student rate ticket (€2 less). Security guard asked me if I have student ID and I explained that I’m not a Spanish resident but that I had pictures of my student ID and letters from uni. The guard responded to me in an aggressive, argumentative manner, saying that if I don’t have anything to prove my student status, they couldn’t let me buy that ticket. His demeanour towards me was as if I was a petty thief trying to pilfer €2 out of the establishment’s pocket. It was a prime example of someone bigger trying to assert their authority over a smaller individual.
When I showed my student status letter to the guard, he didn’t look at it and instead called over another lady and told me to show it to her (which made me think, why is he fussing over it if he’s not checking my student ID?).
This lady goes to the ticket machine and continues the transaction for the student rate.
She didn’t even bat an eye at my phone screen and taps away on the ticketing screen.
I said, “you haven’t even looked at my student ID”. She replied, “I’ve finished looking at it”. She did not read anything off my phone nor gesture to take my phone and read it.
I should note that I do speak Spanish as it is my degree. If you do happen to look like a “foreigner” in the south of Spain, you are going to be spoken to as if you lack some mental capability.
On another note, I recommend you hike up there in time for opening at 09.00 AM, to avoid the tourist swarms.

Very cheap we paid just over 5 euros which gives access to 2 attractions and you download the free audio guide for full information to what you're looking at.
It's a must do if you're in Malaga.

Please take the bus :), I didn’t do it and it was bad idea. You but walk to top and sun is shining directly on you. There is no free water. So you can buy it only from guys on the way for 1,5€/0,5L. On top you have nice view on surrounding mountains and city. There is also one building, small museum and also one cafe, so you can refresh there and price is really low, I was expecting higher prices. There is safe so you can drink and enjoying view.

Its a nice Castle but not that unique. However, the view from up there and its surroundings are truly beautiful. We climbed up there from the beach (20-25min) but we noticed that there is also a bus stop at the top. Entry fee is cheap, around €3 pp. and there are even discount tickets if you want to visit the nearby Alcazaba as well. We went there on Sunday after 2pm and entry was free for the rest of the day!

Nice historical landmark to visit. If you walk to the castle from city center that is a long and steep climb up to the top of a hill. You can alternatively take a bus or taxi to top and walk down. The view from top is great. Castle has very nice gardens with old trees inside. Entrance is cheap and there are no lines. The museum inside is very small. However you can spend quite some time in the cafe inside the castle enjoying the gardens and views.

The castle itself was fine, a lot was closed but entrance was cheap. However, if you are not a history aficionado, I recommend to pay the entrance fee to the Alcazaba at the bottom of the mountain and then do the free walk to the castle. The views on the walk to the castle are beautiful and it’s a great way to stretch your legs. If you buy entrance to both attractions, it’s €5.50 a person but a solo entry is €3.50 so not much money is lost if you change your mind either way!

Amazing view in the walking route towards the castle. it is at the peak of the mountain facing the sea. The hike is perfect combination of experiencing beauty and sense of working out. The temperature in February is also perfect for this hike.

Awesome to experience a 1000 yr old castle fortress. There are two site. Bottom one is gorgeous. Top one is amazing too... A bit of a hike up. If you have problems with incline there are buses to take you to... Otherwise, be ready to get your workout on. Well deserved beer and pizza at the top!!!

Well worth the walk up the hill for the views alone. Superb for photography. Around 3 euros to visit but free after 2pm on a Sunday - however it is really busy then so worth paying and coming at a quieter time! Bar at the top is very good.

Dorcas was superb, fitting our girls in during a busy period. Excellent instruction (viewed by myself from afar as I’m allergic!) and wonderful encouragement. I’m sure this professional outfit needs no review, but we were very grateful that our gifts had such a wonderful time and made massive progress in just a few days. Thank you! We were there yesterday with our 5 children, between 4 and 10, and the woman who runs the center and serves the public is very friendly and pleasant (quite the opposite of her husband, although luckily, he does not take care of the business). The lady had a suitable horse or pony for each child and she treated them exquisitely and very lovingly. The children had a great time and are looking forward to returning. Totally recommended.

Really friendly and helpful people who run this place. Relaxed and very knowledgeable! The ride down to the lake in the Land Rover alone is an event! The lake itself is great, warm water, picturesque and lots of wildlife around. Kids loved kayaks, paddleboards and pedalo with slides! There are only two pedaloes with slides (and one without) so might be safest to book if you don't want to wait around. Although hotel just down the road is great place to get breakfast if you have to wait!

Looking for a spot of sailing,
Kayak or messing about on the water.
Took the wife and kids kayaking for the first time. All equipment is provided and life jackets so for not very strong / confident swimmers a relief. The staff gave a quick instruction before sending you on your way. Even on a day in the high 30’s a cooling breeze across the lake helped make the experience even more enjoyable. We had double kayaks. The kids enjoyed it some much went back a couple of days later and had single kayaks as kids wanted to be more independent and in control.
Take a couple of plastic bottles of water with you to take out on the kayaks and flip flops to cross the landing area to the kayaks, travel light as no lockers to stow stuff in whilst out on the water.

Four friends and I hired a few kayaks for a couple of hours. We all had incredible fun on the vast deep blue lake. The water was very clear and at 24° a delight to swim. The owners of this outdoor centre were just the best. They were very friendly and helpful. The gorgeous Tamara spoke very good English and was a great laugh. One couldn't possibly want for better or more competitively priced experience

Excellent!! They were extremely accomodating and very patient with us (very inexperienced water people). Even when one of our kids broke in tears and wanted to get off the kayak, they kindly stayed around with her whilst we kept rowing a bit longer.
Tamara and her partner were knowledgeable and very kind. The location is great, they recommended to come in the morning as the lake got a bit windy in the afternoon (true when we visited in April)! Would definitely recommend...

I done my third dive with 7 family members (beginners) having come back to Nerja to get married this week and I cannot talk highly enough about the experience. We all came away from it appreciating the talent of the staff involved. Professional, experienced and understanding to those on their first dive. A top class team that I will be completing my dive licence with this year. If you're going to try scuba diving this is the company for you 👌👌

Very friendly and professional Dive Centre: -
Over the past 2 months I’ve had the pleasure of diving with Black Frog Divers, first booking a 10-dive package and then coming back for another few dives. All the staff are professional, extremely friendly and helpful and the dive team are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and chilled in their approach making it a very enjoyable experience. Although chilled I felt that safety always came first and at no time above or below the water diver’s safety was ever compromised.
All dives where shore dives based around the Marina Del Este area depending on weather conditions.
Sara did an excellent job in arranging and scheduling my diving over the 2 months. Thanks for all your help!
The dive groups are kept small which made the dives very relaxing
A big thanks! to you all I’ve had a fantastic time, keep up the good work and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Southern Spain.

What a fantastic experience!
I decided to tick off another from my bucket list - scuba diving and highly recommended on ' Nerja Info ' Facebook was Black Frog Divers.
From the moment they collected me from my hotel to drop off was brilliant.
Martin my instructor was excellent, professional, informative, patient and congratulatory on my achievements. The bay we dived in was beautiful and I saw octopus, jellyfish, sea slugs and fish of many colours.
Such an amazing day!
It was a pleasure to meet Sarah and Ola too.

Wonderful first (and second!) dive experience with Sara, who was knowledgeable, patient and an expert instructor.
Her calm and kind directions made me feel safe and confident, and her delight at the fish, octopi, shellfish and other sealife was infectious. What an experience!
Also have to say thanks to their kind accommodation of my booking error which was sorted out with zero fuss.
Thoroughly recommend, and looking forward to returning next year.
Andrew Fay — Google review
I contacted Sara & Marcin with a very specific request to cram in as many dives as possible over a 5 day period. Being a centre that advertises "small groups" for that "personal touch" I felt they would be the centre of choice for me. As an experienced diver I was looking for the opportunity to get in longer dives than the norm so my expectations were set high.
I must say that the whole team including the instructors Ola & Luca did an exceptional job at meeting my requirements and if I'm totally honest exceeded them. I started as a customer and left as a friend, whilst all four of them were absolutely fantastic I do feel a special mention must go to Luca who kept the dives interesting, and we made a great friendship which I hope will last a very long time.
Really looking forward to diving with these guys again in the near future, and I would highly recommend them as an extremely professional company for everything for DSD to DM and guided dives both day and night.
Thank you very much, and see you soon xx.

I have to admit that I had never ventured to Torrox Costa beach before I was stunned by the fact of just how nice it is. The beach is just a few miles away from Nerja and it is a long level stretch of sand that goes for miles. It is skirted by a wonderful flat promenade with resturants, cafe bars, children's play areas with just a few feet of the sand. I can't recommend this area highly enough because it is a shining example of how a beach resort should be. It is perfect people with disabilities through to families with young children.

We had an Incredible adventure cycling through the Northern Coast of Spain this June 2023 . We were self guided and I cannot say enough as to how well the routes were mapped out , leading you through beautiful landscape and villages. Each hotel was perfectly located, so welcoming and beautiful. The food and wine , fantastic . Cycling Country is oustanding and their attention to detail is impressive. It's clear that Maggi and Geoff are avid cyclists themselves in their thoughtful planning, and their clear desire to assure you will have a trip of a lifetime (we did) . Cycling is a beautiful way to see the country, providing so much adventure that I'm already planning my next trip with Cycling Country to Portugal , come join us !

My husband and I used Cycling Country for part of our trip to Southern Spain. We were blown away by the experience. We did the self-guided experience which was seamless at every turn. Our bikes were high quality, and the rides had multiple options tailored to how we were feeling each day. The hotels selected along the journey were stellar. We fell in love with each one, and they were hotels we never would have found on our own. Truly incredible. Lastly, the company (especially Maggi) was highly attentive and kind - making sure we had everything we needed. If you are looking for a unique vacation experience that is turn key, without doubt use Cycling Country. We will certainly be using them again!

My husband and I just finished the absolutely fantastic Cycle to the Med self-guided bike trip from Cycling Country. I cannot say enough good things about working with this company and its fabulous owners, Geoff and Maggi. From my first email inquiry to the amazing end-of-ride lunch spot they recommended and everything in between, it was a flawless, top-notch experience. This route is a newer offering for them, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The scenery was beautiful and varied. There was mix of challenging climbs, thrilling descents and breathtaking coastal riding. The hotels were all excellent--and quite different. Geoff and Maggi were super accommodating and worked with us (even mid-ride) to tweak a few things. They clearly know the area inside and out, and all of their restaurant recommendations and points of interest were divine! Highly recommend!

I would like to thank Cycling Country for the amazing organization that they provided to make our trip go as smoothly as it did. The bikes were very comfortable and in great condition (thank you for the special Dutch-style bikes – they were great!) and well equipped with emergency tools. They really thought of everything we might need along the road. The "Ride with GPS" navigation was very easy to follow and had lots of interesting tips and useful information. Also the hotels were all very nice and in great locations. In addition, the support we received before and during the trip was first class. The Castillo de San Miguel is a historic castle that dates back to the 1st century BCE. It boasts a small but impressive museum and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. Despite limited parking space, visitors can expect an interesting experience at the museum, which includes miniature models of the city in different historical periods. Additionally, admission to the castle also grants access to a nearby cave museum featuring old vases and information about ancient trading practices.
Took about an hour to see everything, although we came the first thing in the morning, there were way more people when we left. Not a lot of parking space.
The museum was interesting, liked the mini models of what the city looked like in different periods in time.
With the ticket for this castle we also got a ticket to a museum near by, that was in a cave. There were mostly old vases and info about how people used to trade stuff.
Anyways, would recommend for adults that like history, as a quick stop

The castle is perched on hill close to the shoreline. The castle itself is okay with some restoration work done on it's outer walls. The interior is basically ruins with canon and gun ports in tact. There is a short narrated video that speaks to the Roman, Moorish, Christian history of the place. There are also two small displays of artifacts which probably enough for most people. One of the finer aspects of a visit are the views of the beaches and shorelines from the castle.

Nice restored castle wqith interesting exhibitions and great views. Also the path to the castle is scenic. Not to mention very atentive personnel.

Nicely restored castle 😊 Definitely worth visiting, amazing view of Almunekar and the ticket also includes cave museum 🙂

Nice place, if you are in Almunecar you would be to come here. It is clean and near the town of city.
General tickets are 4 euros, +65 or Retired people are 2, 5 euros.

This is highly recommended because not only is it good to walk around the explanations and the additional information are very well presented in both Spanish and English. There is also a small museum inside that showed how the city developed with each conquering nation, excellent plus great views

Steep climb from the beach and centre. Castle itself nice, but more because of location, but centre surroundings and rest of Almuñecar quite disappointing in style and beauty.
Pedro de Pedra — Google review
For a few Euros it's really worth the walk around and the views.

The visit of the Castel (same ticket with the Museum) is a must to understand some history of Almuñécar. The distinction between the Romans and the Arabs, the changes of the coastline and activities in the town, etc. The best time is the sunset, so better come before 7:00 P.M. After or before the visit, go to the museum, walk in the barrio St Miguel, go to the plaza de la Constitution and around, Casa de la Cultura, etc. Enjoy the good food and the village,
Éric Lacroix — Google review
Worth an hour or two of your time. More to see than there looks at first as interesting displays are tucked away within the site. Useful descriptions in English and Spanish. Great views. Cheap entry, reduced for 65+, and was free on a Friday morning. Can to be tricky to find the entrance if coming through the old town, head for Calle Esplanada San Miguel. We walked up the access road on the western side of the headland near the park.

Interesting castle, well worth a visit if you are in the area. The views over the sea are great!

Amazing views in all directions once you reach it - there are many steps to negotiate. My photos will give you a good idea.
Leading up to the castle you will go through pretty little village lanes and many steps. Not ideal for wheelchair access.

Great exhibition about the history of Almuñécar from Roman times til Reconquista. Hilarious little movie. Nice models and exhibits. All very well presented. Stunning view on the Sea and mountains, especially around sunset. They don’t accept card payments but you can buy a combined ticket at the archeological museum which is also worth a visit although not as well presented as the exhibition in the castle and some texts only in Spanish. It’s about the history of the town from Stone Age til Roman period.

What a great place! Definitely worth the €2.50 entrance fee (OAP rates), includes entry to the caves museum. Really interesting place, lots of information, in English as well as Spanish. Particularly enjoyed the video conversation between the Roman, Christian and Muslim. Very well done.
Aquatropic Water Park is a fantastic place for families with young children, offering a range of fun and exciting activities in a relaxed outdoor setting. The park has a variety of tube and toboggan rides that lead into refreshing splash pools, perfect for those hot summer days. Additionally, there are plenty of casual outdoor eateries available to enjoy some tasty food after all the excitement. One can also take advantage of the lovely picnic areas or choose to relax on the grassy sunbeds.
Perfect day with children 4-10 years old! Very nice picnic area and grass area with sunbeds

I went there as soon as it opened last wed so it wasn't that busy. Good fun was had by me , my 8 yr old daughter , my friend and his 4yr old. Then it just got very busy. My friend broke his humorous and had to go to hospital. Staff were not clued in to wether it was a dislocated shoulder or break. I had to drive him to motril. I won't forget it.
Seacoff — Google review
Went once, won't go again. This is most expensive water park I have ever been to in Spain. We payed almost 100€ entrance fee for 3 adults and 3 kids. You would expect to have a sunbed included (like in all other parks I know) but hey, not in this one. 3€ for 1 sunbed on top. Everything else is also very expensive. But the worst was: I am a diving instructor so I leave my eyes open underwater. I asked if there was chlorine in the water and someone from the staff said, no no, we only have water from the sea. So I swam with open eyes and after like 2 minutes my eyes were hurting like cracy, I couldn't see anything anymore and had to be led to the first aid clinic for a treatment. That's why: never again. Besides, there are enough water parks close by.
Burkhard “Bee” Menn — Google review
Parking is hit and miss, the slides are fun but it's extra if you want to use inflatables (rented for the day) and the restaurants are not great, we were served pizza hot on the bottom but cold on the top, and a burger with the cheese not even melted. If you come here bring your own food.
Keiron Gulrajani — Google review
It was OK. Expensive for what it is.
All of us ended up with sore tummies the next day and really sore eyes from the water. It didnt feel overly clean.
The kids enjoyed the slides they could go on and there is a nice range for different ages.
Wait times were large but it was a weekend. Overall a fun day but wouldn't rush back.
Toni Cox — Google review
Really great day at the park. All very clean and tidy and all the slides were great. Only reason it's four star's is as others have said that the wave machine is hardly ever on. We were there for 5 hours and it was on for 10 minutes when we arrived and never again afterwards. Yes you have to pay for the locker and a ring if you want exclusive use of it but this is just like buying the queue jump ticket at other Spanish parks and I've never had a free locker!!
Paul Green — Google review
Well rounded park for whole family. Great food options. But they only operate the wave pool 3 times a day for 10-15 minutes. Otherwise it’s a giant swimming pool. That was very disappointing.
Audrey Taylor — Google review
Unfriendly employees don't let the child slide down the children's slide because it is 2 cm too small, even though the mother would have slid along and the child had a swimming ring. The water is food high! The 4-year-old child was then allowed to slide in the baby pool but wanted to go with mum but that warnt allowed either. We actually wanted to celebrate our birthday here in the park today, but my child only cries because everything is not possible and that on the birthday!!! We will leave the park early but will not be able to recommend it!!! very bad!!!
Diana Winkler — Google review
This place is ok for couple of hours of fun. Not really that much to do for adults but kids never complain and have fun. Tickets price is a bit high but buy online tickets which will reduce it a little and you can skip the queue. Or go for a half day from 3pm instead of in the morning for all day which will give you 4 hours of fun for half the price.
Be prepared to pay for the parking if you're going to use it €4+€4deposit, same the lockers €+€ deposit.
You can rent a float to go on slides for all day so will make it quicker.
Waiting time for slides was variable.
Overall kids enjoyed it.
Food price? Prices quite simmilar to the ones in the city, so no complaints.
Its good there are picnic areas where you can eat your own food.
This place would benefit from putting some clocks around.
3 stars for the salty water and showers closed for cleaning for long time. Ended up going home covered in salt as the outside showers not suitable to use gel/soap. If there is another shower area it would be good to have more information about it.
Thanks
Katarzyna Jankowska — Google review
Clean and reasonably priced. 61 euros for a family of four with two young children. This rises to 63 euros with one junior. That's around 10-15 euros cheaper than similar parks in the region with lower scores.
The food on site is great and reasonably priced. Ice creams were 2.50 for Carte D'ore which is cheaper than in Nerja.
The water is a little too salty and the guards are overly strict but they are also very helpful. There are a few things that could do with a quick repair job but nothing that is too distracting.
The sun loungers are 3 euros each which is cheaper than the other water parks we've been to nearby but for 20 euros you can rent a day bed.
The queues for the rings aren't too bad but I think the park would benefit from a lazy river or long slow ride that is more relaxing.
Overall a great first experience and we will be back again.
Matt Ince — Google review
Had a great day here again. (Second visit)
The kids love it. It's salt water but I personally think it's better then chlorine in the water.
Parking on the road outside is cheaper then the carpark.
Also I recommend taking your own food and drink as its a bit expensive to buy here.
I'll be back again soon!
David Green — Google review
Dated and tired water park. As we had the kids, we could not just leave but left early. The rides are small and uneventful. The food outlet was terrible and should be avoided.
We ordered food for the kids, which was undercooked when we complained we were treated as if we would cause a riot. Offered to cook again for use but undercooked a toasted cheese and ham did not instil confidence to let them cook burgers for my kids.
By poor customer service standards, this place was exceptional in its terrible attitude
Cathal Callan — Google review
Came with 6 friends, all with the same opinion, the slides were ok but very old. It hurts to slide in most of them.
The food is horrible! "Fried potatoes" came raw in 7 different menus. Beer with poor taste, hot dogs got burned. Paninis were almost frozen and the burgers were dry.
My friend send the panini and the potatoes back to cook a bit more and when it came back it was exactly the same.

(Translated by Google) We have been a group of 6 people, it was the first time we tried an Escape Room and we loved it. As soon as you arrive you get into the role and you put yourself in detective mode. If you get stuck somewhere they will give you a clue, but never reveal anything important. As time progresses, you feel the pressure, and you're going to get a scare for sure. The guy who was there has played the role very well, it must not be easy to hold back your laughter when you see six of us. The price is 100% worth it, you are going to have a very entertaining time and it is an experience that is worth it without hesitation. I would recommend it to everyone, we liked it a lot!

Having been in Spain for 2 weeks now, the day spending with Victor, his lovely wife, and the horses is still the best day I’ve had so far. Victor is caring, encouraging, and really funny. (I definitely didn’t say that because he also give you abundance of delicious lunch, homemade wine in bota, and more wine and snacks following the ride back home - although that’s definitely a pleasant pleasant surprise ;) ) He’s knowledgeable about the horses and would carefully match the horses for you base on your skill level. We took a picturesque 4-hour ride, across the mountain ranges and up at 2,000 meters, with our minds and sprits fly high. There’s no good words to describe how happy and content I felt - you will just have to be there!

Scheduling is easy and Victor is very responsive over email and WhatsApp, and is also able to assist with arranging transportation which picked me up and dropped me off right back at my hotel! All around perfect trip - the horses are gentle, beautiful, and fun to ride and you can’t beat the scenery. A must do if near the area or in Granada!

Victor took us on an amazing 2-hour hack, introducing us to the horses first (my boyfriend had only ridden twice before, 30 years ago!) and making us feel really comfortable and welcome. No rushing. Horses were great, very reliable and in good condition. Hack was absolutely stunning and Victor is as much of an entertainer as he is a great and knowledgeable horseman! With both interesting and funny stories to share, his charm definitely added to the experience. After the hack we were invited to a beer and some snacks and we chatted for quite a bit overlooking the mountains, it was the perfect ending to a fabulous ride. The time and attention that was put into us and the ride is incredible for that price as well. Worth a mention! Very much recommended!! And we will 100% be joining for more rides in the future!

The horses are lovely and Victor and his cousin are the perfect guides. Even for beginners, this is a good place to be. The horse is carefully matched to your level of experience. The ranch is located in the heart of the mountains. After 5 min on the horse, you already have spectaculair views over the mountains and the river. This chocolate shops sells so many different types of dark, milk, and white chocolate that you wouldn't find anywhere else, at a very good price at about €1.50 for a small bar.
The chocolate is fantastic quality and I loved the variety such as blueberry and banana.
There is an English menu on the reverse of the Spanish menu which is very helpful when ordering. The staff were very accommodating around the language barrier but were friendly and welcoming.
You also get a small packet of testers which I liked, although this does contain a piece with nuts.
They also sell milkshakes and ice cream in a wide variety of flavours.
The kitchen is behind the counter, where they make the chocolate, and there is information about the chocolate in the entry hallway, although this is in Spanish.

Many rural houses in all the towns of the Alpujarra. With its characteristic architecture. In Lanjarón, there is also a lot of hotel options, thanks to the spa and being a good starting point for visiting the area.
The most typical towns are Pampaneira, Buión and Capileira, which can be visited on the same day, although if you like hiking it is a good place to stay and take routes from there. Spectacular views from these towns in the Sierra Nevada and you can see Pico Veleta and Mulhacén. Very picturesque towns dedicated to tourism and crafts. From Capileria, the highest town in the ravine, there are impressive views.
If you go through the Alpujarras, be sure to visit Trevélez, one of the highest towns in Spain, and eat in one of its restaurants with a view of the valley. Ham is typical in this town. You can also order Alpujarreño dish, a hearty dish not suitable for all stomachs, but those who like it will repeat.

A wonderful place to visit. Plenty of parking, easy to find. We visited in December and had loads of fun. The landscape is excellent, so many different walks and beautiful views.

A great drive out of the mountains , popular with Cyclists and Motor Cyclists, good access to walking

Its good as a base to walk from but its rather run down. And there lots of flies.

Definitely worth a visit. Installations are not wonderful, and when we there during the week, there was no bar or restaurant open.
You can hire cross country skis and sledges on site - prices are reasonable - skis & boots were 15€ per day, and sledge 8€.
Staff were pleasant and friendly.
Expect it to be very busy after snow at weekend. You do need to check with the police that the roads are clear (phone 011), it can take a couple of days for them to be cleared after snowfall.

Lovely point to go off and do some trekking. The route options from here are great and although we didn't go too far on foot, as it was just too warm that day, it was obvious that you could have a great time out here. Some great views and picture points.

The views when cycling down towards the plains where calahorra etc are simply incredible - almost a 360 degree panorama over a Mars like landscape. Great mini - cycling adventure if head from Granada, El Padul, Lanjaron, Trevellez direction. Unsung landscape it really is - then bound off towards Guadix and back around to Granada. Hop skip and a jump and a days ride also back to Malaga province by way of lake bermejales, zenta de La zaf etc… well worth exploring
… recommend also heading up via Almunecar up the fertile valley towards Granada. Superb climb from coastal town. That takes you to El Padul. Then thread way through Sierra Nevada through all the villages up to Puerto de la Ragua. Less than a weeks cycling round trip from Nerja. Big miles and hills but totally worth it.

It's an excellent motorcycle route and in winter it could be quite dangerous because of the snow and being a secondary road doesn't get the top cleanup

Didn't look like a ski resort to me. Thought it said it was a national Park info centre. Anyway, it was all shut up. But it is the start of a few mountain walks. One I very short so good to stretch legs on a drive through.

If you like history, then this is definitely a place to visit. Inside the castle, you will see some weapons and nice uniforms used back in the days. It's a beautiful place overall, super clean and well maintained. It was very easy to find, and it took us 15 minutes from Almerimar to get there driving. I don't know how it is during the weekend since we went there on Friday afternoon and we were the only ones. Great views to spot pirates or to take nice photos with your family 🙂

Literally 1 of the only cool things in the area to check out. If you're a lover of plastic trash blowing in the wind then the area is perfect for you!
Playa Serena in Almeria is a lengthy pebble shoreline situated near upscale resorts. The beach features a promenade adorned with palm trees and offers ample space for visitors to find a comfortable spot close to the calm sea. Unlike pebble beaches, Playa Serena boasts fine sand that is preferable for many. The water temperature remains pleasant, making it an inviting destination. Along the beach, there are kiosks where one can grab refreshments or enjoy a meal.
Beautiful, beautiful place to spend mornings, evenings, and nights 😃
The area at the paseo Carmen Sevilla with the fountain and all that, sorounded by all those palm trees...just mmmmm 😃
Great place.
The only downside (this is just me being picky, is that the beach isn't fine sand)
Adrian - Sunny Spain Property Brokers — Google review
Fantastic beach.
It's not golden soft sand but a grey rougher sand. Big advantage is, in very windy conditions it doesn't blow around.
The promenade and bike track are brilliant. The toilets were open.
In mid December it was very windy and the sea was wild but a lovely fresh walk for many kilometres along the promenade.

Toller Strand und vor allem sehr sauber. Empfehle aber nicht gegen Abend in die Nähe de Naturschutzgebietes zu gehen. Sehr viele Mücken.

Great beach and above all very clean. However, I do not recommend going near the nature reserve in the evening. Lots of mosquitoes.

Hello, this year I'm happy to spend a week at Camping Roquetas de Mar on the way to Gibraltar.
I really enjoy visiting all the beaches between Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar. The beaches are all very beautiful and clean. I would love to come back.
Best regards Frank Koop

Large sandy beach. The sand is not so thin but much better than pebbles.
The sea is usually calm and the water is not so cold.
The beach is so big that there's always space to get a nice spot close enough to the water.
There are kiosks along the beach to have a drink or eat something.
Parking is not difficult but it might be some days that you need to park a bit further away from the beach.

Castillo de Santa Ana is a historic castle from the 14th century that provides magnificent panoramic sights of the sea. The compound comprises a small museum and gallery for visitors to explore. It's a popular destination where one can stroll around and admire the stunning views from atop the roof. Additionally, it offers an exhibition consisting of impressive photographs that are worth viewing. The best part is, visitors can enjoy all these attractions at no cost as entry to the castle is free.
I will never get enough of walking around this castle. The view from the roof is stunning. One of my favourite places to go and think

Lovely place, richly steeped in history.
The castle has been lovingly restored, and if you stand quietly alongside the cannon, you can almost feel the history wash over you.
It is a worthy place to visit.
ian smallwood — Google review
The Castle was a small artillery fort with a round tower on each corner, heavily restored after a lightning strike ignited the gunpowder store which destroyed one tower and then a few years later an earthquake badly damaged what was left.
It is now used as an arts and exhibition centre. Inside was a model boat exhibition, ranging from 15th century galleys, HMS Victory, Colombus' 3 ships, a Viking longship and then more modern fishing vessels and steamers.
There was a photography exhibition and also a large display of Goya's prints of French war crimes in the Peninsula War. Free to enter and a nice way to spend an hour.
Marcus Hurley — Google review
A nice, restored castle (since it was completely destroyed in an earthquake). But it was closed when we visited, so we couldn't see the interior.
Predrag Petrovic — Google review
Well worth a visit if you are in this part of Spain more of an art gallery than a castle. Some really nice black and white photos of old Spain along with paintings and models.
Sam — Google review
Worth a look and even better it was free to enter. Beautiful views from the top and very well kept. Inside is currently displaying a photography and art exhibition which was very interesting, especially for my eldest daughter. We all enjoyed the time we spent there and would recommend anyone visiting the area to take a look.

If you visit nearby Spain then it's a nice stop off point during a beach walk to grab some much needed shade.
This is an old fort i believe dating back to 1700s however it is very modern inside and to be fair, it looks great!!
It is now an art gallery with plenty of pictures and quirky art pieces and to top it off, it's free to get in!!
You can also go up to roof and have a good view out to sea and across the harbour. Its not huge so plan this in as a minor pit stop.
Oh.. and there's a nice Amphitheatre outside too :)

Surprising little gem in the heart of Roquetas de mar. Free entry, lots of interesting exhibits, which are nicely laid out - very little in English, but easy to get the gist of what the display is about. Winding staircase through maritime exhibit to top of castle, with lovely shoreline views. In the evenings a large number of concerts in the hall below. Well worth a visit.

Playa de Aguadulce is a picturesque destination that boasts a broad expanse of sandy shoreline. Along with its scenic promenade and inviting cafes, the beach offers affordable loungers and parasols for visitors to enjoy. Although the beach is raked daily in the morning, it can be somewhat rocky near the water's edge. Nevertheless, there are several playgrounds dotted along the shore that cater to children.
Very helpful lifeguards when I was stung by a jellyfish. Key tip - go straight to the lifeguards who can treat you effectively - do not shower if you get stung.
Lots of bars to choose from. Lovely Marina at one end of the beach where as well as an array of yachts you'll see plenty of fish.
The beach gets very crowded on hot weekends in the Summer. So, if you don't like sharing the beach with other people, look for alternatives.
Difficult to find parking in peak times (unless you go to the car park in the Marina).

Located in Almería, the Conjunto Monumental de la Alcazaba de Almería is an archaeological museum that features impressive structures and gardens from the 12th to 16th centuries. The fortress is a great place to visit with its protective stone walls and exhibits on history.
Magnificent castle, beautifully preserved, with lovely gardens and fountains. It offers spectacular views on the city and the port. There are some wending machines inside the castle with beverages, snacks and coffee to freshen up, and also public toilets. I definitely recommend the visit (you'll spend there a couple of hours). The entrance was free of charge.

Fantastic travel to the past of the Muslim architecture in Spain. There is a great. Work in progress to bring this fortress and palace to its original splendor. Free entrance. Great for kids

A must see place when you visit Almería. Located just 10 minutes walk away from downtown, this is a beautiful fortress to visit. There has been a lot of work to recover the structure and gardens and once again you can experience its greatness. The flow of water throughout the property is impressive as well as its impressive views of the city. The entrance is free but my suggestion is to charge for it to maintain both the Alcazaba and San Cristobal.

Beautiful, didn’t expect such a monumental views but exceeded the expectations. Great place to have photo shoots and even movies if you can take permission. Can see the Spanish architecture clearly. Lot of greenery restoration is happening as well- must visit if you’re in Almería

Very much worth a visit. Its free and all you do is say how many in the group and what country you're from.
They could easily charge and it be worth a visit! It's very interesting and offers lovely views of Almeria.
There are buses that service the foot of it if you don't fancy the hike up the hill towards the entrance! Taxis are an option too

Nice and well maintained fortress. Open from the morning until 9 pm in the off-season months. Free entry. Some small expositions in one part of the castle. Vending machines with snacks and toilets. Beautiful views of the whole Almería city.
Anezka P — Google review
Great fortress, free entry. This is not Alhambra, but the buildings themselves and fortifications and gardens are pretty close. Just missing the interiors of Alhambra. But they are working on restoration. Beautiful views from multiple vantage points, including the highest tower.
Brian Krueger — Google review
Free entrance. Super well kept and lovely garden... Not too much to see but very pretty :)
Barbara Petreti — Google review
Great castle with free entry and continuous improvements and absolutely fabulous views so why only 4 stars?
There are no refreshment areas, just a small room with self service machines and one set of toilets. It desperately needs more refreshment areas which surely would be a valuable source of income?
There was a gift shop but that was closed and litter bins are a rarity. Some of the information boards have English translation but but all so a few more boards translated would be great.
However overall a great day just carry plenty of water.

Interesting views for the town, port and gardens (at my pic)
No access for wheelchairs and baby carriage, there are stairs!
You can leave the baby carriage at the information point.
No need to book a ticket, it's free!!!

Neat looking castle and allegedly a lot of history. Unfortunately they close at 1800 which didn’t allow an opportunity to visit. Lots of construction going on so even when open some parts are still restricted.
Trenton White — Google review
Fantastic museum attraction showcasing a beautiful 10th century Arabic fortress that also has the benefit of being free! It’s a huge complex with beautiful views of the city, gorgeous gardens and fountains and lots of detailed archeological exhibits throughout. As a fun bonus, there are a bunch of cats that live at the Alcazaba, most of which are very friendly! I was only about to spend about an hour there, but I could have easily stayed way longer!
As a warning, this may not be the best attraction of you have mobility issues, and pathway up to the Alcazaba, as well as many of the internal staircases and walkways, are pretty steep and uneven - as is the case with most 10th century stone masonry. Skip the flip flops and wear sneakers/walking shoes for maximum enjoyment.

I am a huge Game of Thrones fan and to be where the Kingdom of Dorne was filmed was an amazing experience for me. Aside from that, the historical value and beauty of these buildings is definitely a sight not to miss. Be sure to wear shoes with a rubber sole, at times the stones can be slippery. This is not an ideal terrain for wheelchairs or baby carriages. The views from the gardens or buildings themselves are also amazing.
Michelle Martínez — Google review
A fascinating old building with great views over Almeria. We spent about two hours wandering around the alcazaba and the other buildings on site. We didn’t take a guided tour but that is possible if that’s what you prefer. We were lucky with the weather and got some good photos of the building and over Almeria.

Great place to visit, should have gone later as it was a light up for the 3 king’s celebration. Most of the original History has been lost due to earthquakes. Still grand to visit if not as good as the Alhambra.
The Refugios de la Guerra Civil Española de Almería are a series of subterranean air-raid shelters that were used during the Spanish Civil War. Tours are available and the facility is easy to access due to its underground parking. The tour provides a good overview of the system and includes explanations in Spanish.
Great place to visit. Easy to park nearby in underground parking. Cheap entrance at €3 and there is a lift for people who can't do the stairs. About one hour tour in Spanish.

We enjoyed our visit to the tunnels. A fascinating historical tour that details what various persons went through during the wars and how the persons hid underground. Make sure you book tickets in advance though we managed to get tickets on the day within a few minutes of the start of the tour. Add this to your list when visiting Almeria.
CHARLES ARNESTAD — Google review
Very limited accessibility. You need to book in advance and even if you go well before closing time it's still impossible to visit. That's not so practical for tourists
Haris Ziras — Google review
The tunnels are really interesting but you need to visit with a tour and the tour availability and booking seems very confusing and complicated? Also no English tours? We were very lucky to be at the door when a guide was looking for more people for a tour. It was mostly in Spanish but Amelio was great to summarise information in English for us.
Vincent Oliver — Google review
A must visit, the translations could use some improving but worth the while either way.
shishir baliyan — Google review
Quite the unique experience. Yes, the tour is in Spanish (there are some English information boards and subtitles) but that’s fine... it’s still something you’ll not experience anywhere else!
A trip 90m below the city... through remarkable tunnels that still have the ambience of safety and fear combined. And don’t expect to end up where you started!
€3 currently, pre-booked tours. Worth every cent!!
Jay Lamb — Google review
It was very atmospheric, and the film before the tour was quite emotional to watch. The English subtitles were really useful.
We would suggest that a brochure be available either included in the entry price, or for a donation, in other languages. Our Spanish was not up to understanding much of what the tour guide was explaining.
We would definitely recommend it, though, and hope the Refugios are kept open in perpetuity.
Even on a normal weekday, we had to book, as there was no room on the tour at the time we arrived, so we had to come back a bit later.

Fascinating glimpse into the hardships faced by anti-Franco communities during the civil war. There is a short film with English sub-titles that plays before the tour with first-hand accounts of the bombardments from Almería residents.

Enjoyed a guided tour more than I expected. Very interesting and our guide was foreign so no politics mixed in just historical facts. Interesting some of the rules were not to talk politics since this was a refuge for both sides.
When you arrive there are tour guides that will fit you into their next tour . Normally sold out otherwise.
