Visitors can purchase tokens for the attractions or opt for a day pass to make the most of their visit. The park also includes a 4D cinema with various short films, making it a great place to spend time with children.
Great value for money, I'd recommend it rather for smaller kids (3-7) since the rides are not very intense. Do not buy coins buy the card for the whole day and ride anything you want so many times you want. No entry fee, opened from 10:30 am till 10 pm. Also we didn't have to wait at all
Teedee — Google review
Parco Junior is great fun for under -12s, and I definitely recommend the day pass if you plan on spending more than an hour or so there. Otherwise you’ll blow through your tokens in no time, and many attractions are unattended, so if you have the day pass bracelet, you just jump in rather than waiting for the attendant to come.
Four stars rather than five because six of the attractions are closed from 1:30-6:00, and because a simple carousel would round out the other rides.
To be fair though, the rides that are closed in the afternoon would probably be unbearably hot during those times, since they are for the most part the only ones without shade. Tip: get there at the 10:30 opening time and do those before lunch, then hit the rest afterwards.
Gary Avery — Google review
Great place for our 6-year-old son for about 2 hours. We bought 13 coins for €26. One attraction is 1 coin. Our son tried all the attractions alone.
1 negative point: the parking area was full although there were few people in the Park (11:30-1:30). Clearly it is allowed for anyone to leave their car in their own parking lot, the attendant does not care. Also there is a height limit, a car with roof box cannot go in (the area is not covered, so we did not understand why there is such a limitation).
Tünde Forrásné Toldy — Google review
I loved their inside environment, clean and shady. Not so big so the parent are not going to be over tired. But only one negative thing it was many of the toy like 6 or 7 toys are not inservice during 13.30 - 18.00 on week day. And unfortunately it was the one we were wanted to play.
Thapanee Kongngoenthong — Google review
Great place to stay with children. It is profitable to buy an unlimited ticket for the whole day, which includes a child and one adult. There is a 4D cinema with a variety of short films. A lot of entertainment and fun. Ticket price for this place is reasonable.

It was a great experience for our daughter. During the day, there aren't all the things opened, it seems that everything are working after 18.00. There is a free parking (on the left side).

Amusement park for children and baby too. You can buy daily ticket for all attractions for one child and one parent or you can choose and buy coins for Rides.
Vladimir Mako — Google review
It is good place for entertainment children (from about 3 years old), prepare your wallet 1 ride = 1 coin = 2,50 € 😉 But you cannot buy here normal lunch, just sweets and drinks.

Kids love it... it was not no crowed. Only thing is that rides are short(3min). We payed 6 coins-raids 14€ ...

I've enjoyed this beach many times. It can get very crowded during the hot months, so show up early for parking and beach spots. I am disappointed in the extensive use of umbrellas, as they are everywhere. I prefer the open beach where you can choose any spot to relax and not have to rent out a chair. Either way, this is a great place to have fun during the summer.

The Archaeological Area of Aquileia - Roman Forum is a historical complex that includes the Baptistery, Sudhalle, markets, Forum, Sepolchretum, domus remains, and the Fluvial Port. The area also features the National Archaeological Museum and Early Christian Museum with impressive collections. Visitors can admire the well-preserved pillars of the forum and stone floors through a chain-link fence.
Historical treasure, worth visiting. I recommend some reading about it before.

Looking at Great Peices of History. The National Archaelogical Museum of Aquileia is a fantastic exhibit. Very professional and I believed they honored Liberation Day with free admission, and in return to support them, I purchased a couple literatures peices to read in return. Also visited Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta. The atmosphere was surreal and the Mosaic architecture that is being maintained is beautiful! It would be a great date idea to visit these places with your significant other. My significant other and I had a great time visiting everything that was around, and taking up the history that comes with it. Historians would have a field day!

Great mosaics. Good for a day trip in the local area but do not fly out to see it.
The National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia is a must-visit for anyone interested in Roman civilization. Located at the Cassis Faraone Villa, it boasts an extensive collection of ancient Roman artifacts including statues, jewelry, coins, and household furnishings. The museum's expert presentation offers a unique glimpse into classical life through archaeological finds and writings.
Great presentation of the life, customs, and luxury of the ancient city of Aquileia. One can learn a good bit about the city through an interesting chronology. The exhibition leads you to discover the Austrian origins of the museum (1882) and its first acquisition as part of the Italian state (1915), and is then divided into sections: public sculpture, domestic luxury (wonderful mosaics and ancient glass!), trade and crafts, coins and jewels. The collection of tomb inscriptions, housed in the garden and being re-ordered now, is impressive. Great conclusion for a day trip in Aquileia!
GLoi — Google review
The museum has had a makeover recently and the set-up is neat, take it from an archi student. Every object is presented in a way that valorizes it perfectly, also there is plenty of plaques explaining every aspect of what's showcased, both historical and of matter info.
I personally don't know the price of tickets but it's free for art history/architecture students, and there's a pass called "FVG Card Aquileia" that for the price of 15€ gives you access to the Basilica and the two cripts, the baptistery and two other mosaic exposition.
Francesco Paganelli — Google review
Great museum that was open later than we expected (7pm). We visited on a Saturday (25 March 2023) around 430pm. We spent about 1.5 hrs but could have spent 2-3h reading more signs.
3 floors inside + outdoor area -- unfortunately the outdoor area is under renovation so you can't tour the whole thing but you can still enjoy some of it. Signs in Italian and English that gave great insight. A small gift shop of mostly books but a few other treasures.
Loved learning about the city and seeing so many Roman artifacts. It'll never get old seeing back into history & daily lives like this!
Sara Volk — Google review
Unfriendly and unreasonable staff. We wanted to lean our bicycles on the tree next to the bicycle stand, when an older lady from the museum staff came and ran us away. We tried to explain her that it is impossible to park the way she wants, since our bicycles are packed with rear bags (this is the Alpe-Adria trail nonetheless) and would thus fall, but to no avail. We decided not to visit the museum.

What an astonishing display of antiquities from Roman times. A must see if you are passing through Aquileia. Superb displays beautifully organised and such a revelation to learn about the times from the excellent descriptions provided. Bravo 👏🏻🙏👍

Very well organised and presented finds with English information boards. The finds are in excellent condition and I loved the mosaics, especially the unswept floor and the vine & ribbon - incredible detail and beautiful. The collection of Roman seal stones and cameos on the top floor was extremely good. Bring a magnifying glass or use your phone - the workmanship is brilliant.
Martin Day — Google review
An exceptionally interesting museum about Aquileia at the height of its splendour.
Roomfuls of Roman statues, gorgeous mosaics, breathtaking cameos with tiny yet clear carvings; the human activities, such as coops and pipings and the Imperial Mint..
Antonio Ippolito — Google review
Brilliant. The highlight of aquilea if you're a museum or ancient Rome lover. Some gorgeous cameo jewellery was the highlight.
Jamie Hay — Google review
Amazing collection of anticquites including absolutely superb mosaics, sculptures and curved pictures-miniatures on gemmas. Exposition are located in three floors building and big yard and one hour is not enough to overlook all details.
Ganna Stovpchenko — Google review
Museum is quite rich and well organised. Gives a good idea of how important the roman city of Aquileia was.
Marco Petrovich — Google review
This is one of the most expertly presented Roman museums I've ever come across. Totally unexpected. Not the usual, repetitive schoolbook texts but rather real slices of life from classical authors and archeology. There's something for everyone here, from children to historians. Must-see if in the area.
Don't miss the base of a very late statue attesting early Christian interest in claiming Vergil, a relief warning against public urination, and the impressive Clymene mosaic in the lapidarium.
Isabelle Heinemann — Google review
Fantastic! Beautiful museum with great explanations in Italian and English. The collection is presented very well, bringing Roman times a little bit back to life.
(Translated by Google) With its seventy-three meters high, the bell tower of the basilica of Aquileia stands out massively over the Friulian plain.
Built by the patriarch Poppone probably in conjunction with the basilica or immediately after, in any case before his death in 1042, the bell tower had exploited the quarries of building material represented by the ancient buildings in ruins, in particular the amphitheatre. It originally consisted of a simple tower with a belfry and a low four-pitched roof. Over time, the reinforcement steps were added to the base (14th century) and, in the first half of the 16th century, under the patriarchs of the Venetian Grimani family, the bell tower was rebuilt. Finally, the octagonal lantern was built with the conical roof above, which still today completes the thousand-year-old structure of the bell tower.
In 1962, the excavation carried out inside the bell tower brought to light an interesting stratigraphic sequence from the medieval and modern era, relating to the life phase of the tower. Furthermore, a further portion of the mosaic floor that decorated the north hall of the Theodorian cult complex (313-320 AD) was brought to light.
(Original)

I recommend getting a full ticket (€10) to see the church, baptistery, domus, various crypts and even the bell tower. It's worth it to get a complete idea of the site and its evolution

Bello, ma non indispensabile. L'ho visto perché era compreso nel biglietto, ma si può evitare. La vista non è gran che. Interessanti invece il mosaico scoperto alla base e le strutture militari che ne facevano un campanile-torre di guardia

Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta is a historic site, originally built in 313AD and featuring the largest floor mosaic in Western Christianity. The complex includes the Crypt of Excavations with geometric mosaics and terracotta flooring from an earlier stage, as well as the Fresco Crypt near the altar, housing faded yet beautiful 12th-century frescoes.
For only 5 euro you can enter the basilica and witness one if the oldest mosaic floors in Europe. I've never seen anything like it. The artwork is amazing. The entrance also includes the crypt. For an additional charge you can also see the newly excavated crypt. Highly recommend and hidden gem. Unesco site.

It was interesting to see the various levels built on one another in the basilica. I was impressed with the different mosaics and the different eras of architecture as the buildings grew and developed.
A couple problems were that the glass floors fogged up in places making it difficult to see certain parts of the mosaics, and that there were some areas not quite finished - but it is a beautiful building and worth visiting.

This is a nice and well preserved basilica that you should see if you are somewhere near. The entrance fee is 5 € for adults and in my opinion it is worth the money. Toilettes are available on site and there is a little gift shop where you buy the tickets. The glorious exterior does put a nice vibe to think what is hiding on the inside. There are parking spots near by (2.5€ /h).

Stopped for "just a few moments" on the way to Austria and stayed for 2,5 hours. This gorgeous basilika and surroundings date back to Roman Time and if you look at the work done "back in the days", you would be speechless about the level of details and how much the people paid attention to the message they wanted to portray. The balance between "good and evil" as well as the internal struggle to a higher power - it is amazing how many stories have been told with a "simple" mosaic. Don't miss it!

Italy is a country of historical beauties and this Cattedrale is undoubtedly one of them.
As soon as one enters the building is immediately overwhelmed by history: the view of the soffit and of the floors, covered by mosaics, is truly breathtaking.
When admiring this church you can “touch” the architectural, engineering and artistic ability of our ancestors: these treasures have withstood over a millennium (even more, when considering the original layers dating from B.C.).
The building basement is a surprise of mosaics and there it’s really astonishing how, through small tiles, those artists were able to depict amazing subjects, such as animals, faces and various objects.
Just a small suggestion: the descriptions of the mosaics made on the handrails, has it is done, is not a very clever solutions, since most of the writings have gone.

The most important place on Aquilea. Take your time to appreciate the interior with the floor mosaics. When you are done, don't miss the cemetery behind the building.

I return here around three times a year. It never gets old (no pun intended). It IS magnificent and very old - amazing mosaics the likes of which will simply astound you. The scale of them can’t be described. I’ve added a very small sampling of which there are much more. It’s the oldest known Christian establishment that is mostly intact. Stunningly preserved - wonderfully displayed in its original state. Truly a must see if you are in the area.

Small island on a lagoon, originally a shrine from 582, housing a church dedicated to the Madonna.
A peaceful religious sanctuary in the Grado Laguna. The church and relics are well maintained. There is a small gift shop, cafe and restaurant. Washrooms are excellent and well maintained. A beautiful location.

The Basilica of Euphrasius is a 6th-century Byzantine-style Episcopal basilica complex located in the city of Porec, Croatia. The church features stunning mosaic art from the sixth century AD, as well as a bell tower and more.
Very old church from the byzantine period of time located in Poreč. The scripts are amazing. Part of the church was destroyed in the earthquake few centuries ago. The church is well preserved and in a good shape. In the church complex there is also a museum and exhibition. Fee has to be paid.

Basilica di Sant'Eufresia a Parenzo
Ancient Byzantine Basilica in Parenzo dating to the early Christian church with foundations from the 4th century A.D.

Euphrasian Basilica was built in the 6th century on the site of an early Christian church, in the time of Bishop Euphrasius and Emperor Justinian I, and is located in the episcopal complex. UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1997. It is well preserved and defectively place for a visit if you are nearby.

Unbelievable historic and religious complex that is still preserved almost exactly as it was in the 6th century! Beautiful mosaics and statue carvings. It is set right against the town walls overlooking the glittering Adriatic waters! Truly a well deserved UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some of the mosaics go back to the 4th century and you can see the ancient Roman walls that connect to the structure. The main building that is currently a museum and place of worship is an almost complete 6th century building with just minor updates. It really is like stepping back in time! Tickets are 10 euros and you can go through on your own or pay extra for an audioguide. The signs are in English, Italian and Spanish as well as Croatian. It was not very crowded at all when I went on a Monday afternoon in late June.

Fascinating and unevitable part of the city. The basilica has memories from over the last 1500-1600 years which is amazing! The Roman mosaics, part of the ancient christianity, the enterieur and the exhibition are also superworthy! It is worth to allocate at least 1-2 hours to the visit! Do not miss!

One more beautiful and very interesting place to participate. It is full of history and really awesome. Porec itself is very ancient city, and basalica is the core. Amazing architecture, great exhibition. With no doubt, it is mandatory to see. It would be no so interesting for small children, but anyway there are a lot of space and kids will be happy enough. No beverages or snacks inside, be ready. And one more good point, there are not so hot as outside, and it is extra bonus to go there.

It worth to visit in case you want to see something else but the regular boring typical touristic places. From the tower you will have a very nice 360 view. But prepare yourself to for the stairs!
The adult tickets will be 50 kuna per person. You should be open for culture and history to visit the place.
The lack of information around the building in English was a little bit disappointing.
Gergely Murányi — Google review
View is nice, but think about visiting it twice if you are with small kids. The number of visitors allowed to go up is not controlled at all, it's a total chaos both upside and downside. When we went up we had to wait at every corner to allow others to go down. When we tried to go down, the tourists going up did not stop, the observation point became totally overcrowded and many of us had to shout to start going downwards.

Once you have paid the entrance fee it will become quite clear to you why this Basilica was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. It shows the early Byzantine style and it is in very good shape considering how old it is. If you are planning to visit Poreč or a nearby place, I would say that this Basilica should top your list!

We were at the Bacchus the night before, and decided to give it a try to other bars on the street.
Unfortunately the experience was not the best. All the food platters are always for 2 people, and the night before at Bacchus a food platter for one was already enormous and enough for us two. So, we have decided to only have wine and have dinner with real food somewhere else later. I wonder if you are traveling alone how will you finish a food platter for two or what will you order from the menu.
Also, the prices are way higher than the other bars on the street, and the waiter was all the time on his phone. He did not seemed interested in taking orders or in his work.
That is probably why it was the emptiest bar on the street at the time.

Venezia Lines are a great option for travelers looking to get to Venice by boat. They offer day trips from various ports in Croatia and Slovenia, which give you the opportunity to see the city in a single day. Their boats are the fastest at the Adriatic, and their staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You also receive a guided tour of St Mark's Square on board, so you don't have to worry about being left alone.
I can't say enough positive things about this ferry service. From the moment we boarded, the crew made us feel welcome and taken care of. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable about Venice and shared fascinating stories and facts throughout the journey. The day we spent in Venice was nothing short of magical, thanks to the seamless transportation and expert guidance provided by this service. I highly commend them for their excellent service and unforgettable experience!

My friend and I took the ferry from Venice to Rovinj. The voyage was pleasant and boarding easy, however when we got on the boat in Venice they took our passports!
We arrived at the docked boat after going through security and passport control with the italian police. The crew greated us and asked again for our passports. They then took our passports and gave us a small laminated piece of paper with a number on it and no explanation. This, naturally, made us quite worried.
When we landed in Pula, all the passengers going to Rovinj were asked to disembark for passport control. They said nothing about our passports until we reached the passport check. There, one of the crew members was standing with the stack of everyones passports with a numbered sticky notes on the back of each. The crew member gave me my friend's by mistake and the entire process of giving them back was extremely disorganized.
Our guess was that they took the passports to stop illegal immigration, but we received absolutely no explanation.
It is extremely nerve-wracking to be so far from home and have your passport taken and there was definitely a moment where I feared something bad could be happening. I understand if there are security measures that need to be taken, but if this happened to me again without explanation I would refuse to give my passport.
Other than that the voyage was as you would expect. The captain was very good homoured, although the staff were a bit unfriendly.

Overall a positive experience. The journey is 3 hours each way and it was swelteringly hot. That said the staff were very helpful and friendly. The guides did a full presentation on what to expect, what to see in Venice. They were both knowledgeable and entertaining. There were optional extras that they successfully sold to us. €20 for a morning transfer to San Marco Plaza. This was very good. We had seat on the open air top deck for good views and again there was full commentary from our guides. €30 for the afternoon transfer was more disappointing. The water taxis are covered so there is limited view. All in all we paid €120 per person 8ncluding the 2 optional extras mentioned above and on balance we do not regret. We saw Venice, had ample time to see the key sights, the organisation was good, everything ran to time. Thankyou.

My trip from Venice to Rovinj could have been a bit nicer, but the ferry was packed to the gills. The crossing itself was pleasant enough, although getting outside for longer than just the Venice bay but I understand it's due to the speed of the boat. The seats are a little old and could use a bit of care and attention. Definitely a few need fixing as I couldn't stop my seat from reclining.
My return trip a few days later was better, with less people on board. There was a little confusion at boarding when the guy taking bags on board did it prior to VIP tags being put on. This led to one of my party only getting one of his bags off of the boat when the VIP people left and having to wait for his bags at the end, leaving him a long time in line for passport control. I missed our arrival into Venice as I was asleep but I understand that the door wasn't opened to allow people on deck.
That said, as voyages go, when I'm heading to Rovinj next year, I'll probably take the ferry again. It was cheap, gave me time to sleep after a tiring weekend and got me where I needed to be at a convenient time.

Appears to be a bus company masquerading as a ferry service.
Our evening ferry from Venice to Porec was cancelled. We were notified early enough (morning of the same day) and offered a refund or bus. We took the bus so we could continue our travels without disruption. Travel time was only a tad longer than the ferry would have been.
But we paid for a ferry... and instead got a bus trip which could have cost us a quarter of the price if we just went and did that in the first place.
With 34 people on the bus I do wonder if this is the more beneficial way for them to operate. If not, and there really was "technical difficulties" with the ferry, it must be a very dodgy ferry because there's a lot of reviews to show this happens quite frequently.

The best way to get to Venice by the ship. Malta-based operators have day trips from various ports in Croatia and Slovenia. It is great opportunity to see Venice in a day.
Their catamarans are the fastest at the Adriatic, staff is friendly and guides very skilled.
You get presentation of Venice and their programs on board, they take you around to St. Mark's Square on a guided tour, so you are not left on your own. They can help you save time and see most in a day for normal amount of money.
Highly recommended.
Miran Ibrahimagic — Google review
The morning started well, the shuttle and the boat arrived on time. The services offered on the ship are overpriced. Two toilets for hundreds of people is not acceptable. The ship was delayed at least 40 minutes in Venice. By the way, the organization was fine in Venice. The first major problem is getting back to the port, those who didn't take a taxi were left on their own. After a long wait at the port, they informed us that there were technical problems with the ship and that we could not go back with it. We were without information on the way back. It took at least fifty minutes for a plan B, which was to walk at least 1.5 km to the train station, no water or other drinks were provided in the heat. Several of us were sick from the excitement. We had to go by train to Trieste and then continue by bus. Again, this was chaotic organization. We arrived home three hours late and missed dinner. We did not get what we expected for the original price, the two stars are for Venice, not VeneziaLines. It was a disappointment, we do not recommend it to anyone!

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Venezia Lines service, and I must say it was an exceptional journey from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all passengers. The ferry itself was not only comfortable but also offered breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea as we approached Venice. Upon arrival, I was immediately enchanted by Venice's canals, stunning architecture, and romantic atmosphere. Exploring the narrow streets, visiting St. Mark's Square, and indulging in local cuisine were highlights of my trip. Taking a gondola ride through the canals is a must, and the Rialto Bridge offers incredible views of the Grand Canal. I highly recommend Venezia Lines for an amazing and hassle free trip to this beautiful city. Venice is a destination that should be on everyone's travel bucket list, and I'll be sure to share my experience with friends and family

Booked ferry Porec to Venice departing 7am 3rd June 2023 - Arrived in good time ahead of the 60 minutes check in closure period to find that the check in staff arrive only 30 minutes before departure, very early start not needed! Check in staff then casually informed us that there is no ferry due to a ‘technical’ issue and that a bus replacement service would be arranged departing 2 hours later than original ferry departure. No further explanation given and no apology offered except that if we accepted the bus alternative no refunds would be offered. They have arranged for free a coffee so let’s see whether we arrive in our planned destination, Venice on time…disappointing experience so far🤨
Update - Bus arrives to collect us and fellow passengers, approx 12, there are a similar number of others on the bus when it arrives, which ferry were they Supposed to be on? We are then told we would be stopping to collect other passengers en-route to Venice. So looks like a lot of ferries with ‘technical’ issues. Fortunately we are from the UK so are very adept at identifying when we are not being told the truth, Brexit has had some benefits! So the real story appears to be that there were not enough booked paying passengers to run three ferries so it’s cheaper to hire one bus for less than 60 people and pick up from three different ports. The ‘technical’ issue with the ferry is the simplest excuse to palm us off with. Can’t wait for the reply to this, no doubt it will be full of ‘technical’ non truths!

The day before our departure we read the reviews and were quite anxious for our trip with Venezia lines, San pawl. But our experience was great from start to finish. We however, did not do the trip during the high season and neither the day trip from Croatia to Venice and back.
We took the boat one way, in mid September, from Venice to Rovinj.
No long announcements and sale pitches. Working AC (not to cold but nice to have a sweater). It was bumpy, sure, but what can you expect from the open sea, and most people seemed to enjoy the waves.
The seats were comfy and spacious.
Pro tip: Bring with you a sweater and noice canceling headphones (engine is quite loud).
Great way to travel as an option to bus/train/flight. Would probably do it again.

Very nice park. Clean and well maintained. Very nice concept where you pay everything with your bracelet. We were not allowed to bring food or beverages which is a minus - prices are in the high end similar to camping prices. Maybe we were lucky but not that many people - max waiting time was 5 min

Fun place to be, good slides, not too pricy, special rates in September (end of season). We had a really good time here!

We visited this park on our journey further South. It was the last open day this season, so we got lucky. It was 28°C, a little bit windy and the park was empty. After 2 hours we had tried every slide and the lazy river. It was fun to not have any waiting time. The yellow cone ride was amazing.
The Green quarter pipe ride was also extremely great, but you have to pay attention to not hit your head at the end of any of the rides. This can easily ruin your fun.
The lazy river was a great way to relax. The food was okay. It is not a gourmet restaurant, it's an amusement park.
The elevator for the big boats was turned off, so you had to carry your boat up the stairs every time for the yellow cone ride. After a few rides this can become a bit exhausting.
The crocodile bar was nice and the drinks tasted very good. The music was a little bit loud and too bass heavy, but I think this depends on each ones own music taste.

This was the second time visiting the water park and we noticed a difference, some staff were not that friendly and couldn’t be bothered to help if you needed assistance. But we still had a fabulous time, the slides are brilliant fun.
It has also got more expensive than last year now everything is in Euros.

Nice place to spend a day in the summer, but there is lot left to be desired. Half of the food courts is not open, there is lack of rafts, no attendants at the start of the attractions, surroundings are rocky and concrete instead of grassy and green, food on the menu is just mediocre, only one (!) place to buy ice cream, no animation for kids... It seems that the people in nearby Istralandia are doing much better job.

A great aquapark with lots of different slides for a very reasonable price. Very good fun for children of different ages as well as adults. Clean bathrooms. The only negative part was that it was crowded as we went in high season and had to wait quite a lot of time for every attraction.

We had a great time, 2 adults and a teenager. We had luck it was not crowded at all. No waiting at the entrance. Even though it was a summer holiday, the beginning of August.
Almost no queues for the slides we picked. Never waited more than 5 minutes.
Staff was friendly. The wrist tags you get at the entrance are perfect, you don't have to go up and down all the time when you need anything.
Can definitely recommend this place.

A really great place to have fun! The slides are great. Especially the bar in the cave is interesting with its bar stools under water. Prices are high (cocktail around 8 Euros) for this area. Mainly foreign visitors (especially German speaking). The staff speaks at least English and a bit German. A good place to stay for half of the day or even more.
In summer the walkways are very hot so you better wear beach shoes.
Oliver Neutert — Google review
DON'T GO - DANGEROUS, OVERCROWDED AND EXPENSIVE.
1.entrance costs 34 euros, I expected a lot for that money, and I got only dissapointment.
2. there are about 3 and a half people working in the park, all of whom are in a bad mood, bored and none of them pay attention to safety in the park and don't give any kind of instructions (because they are 15 16 17 years old)
3. the lift that carries the floaties to the attractions does not work, you have to carry a heavy and large floatie for 4 people up the same stairs where people with the smaller ones are waiting for another attraction, safety 0 because you can easily fall over the fence
4. too many people, not enough floaties which means you have to fight others in order to get them. some people even sunbathe and lie on them, and none of the employees pay attention to it. They are half deflated and dirty
5. the pool tiles and the water in them are dirty
6. the safety on the attractions is equal to 0. we got injured on each of them, even though we were within the weight and height standards. on some attractions we got stuck halfway down the slide, on some we flipped, and on some we injured our elbow. I think I would be less afraid of jumping out of a plane than going on these slides again because I know for sure that I will get hurt
7. there are carpets on the floor, but they are cut so in some places you are forced to walk on the hot floor
8. the attractions are very far from each other, there is a lot of walking with huge floaties which are NOT waiting for you right up on the slide
8. there is a child working on first aid who does not even know the basics of first aid, God forbid something serious happens to someone
9. people are allowed to jump, dive, go wild in places where they shouldn't (there are signs for that, but the workers don't care) 10. working hours are only from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., which means that with the amount of walking from one attraction to another, waiting 30+ minutes at each of them, you can go down the slide about 10-12 times tops
11. they obviously only care about making money, considering that the park is not intended for such a large number of people, and there were a lot of them regardless it was weekday
12. Even though we bought tickets online, we waited in line for about 30 min to get our bracelet - the line for buying tickets there was a lot smaller

Went there twice and enjoyed it a lot. Great fun for both kids and grown ups. Make sure you put some sun cream and hidrate as it gets quite hot during the day. Bought tickets on the entrance, 10 - 15 minutes wait in line. Parking available with enough space for all visitors. Cannot miss it as the road signs point clearly towards it. Wheelchair accessible but limited options for same once inside as you have to walk up the stairs for tobogan rides. Great place and lots of fun. Loved it.

A great fun day! We arrived as it opened at 10 and hit the majority of the rides then so didn’t have to queue too much. Lines got longer as the day went on. Some really fun slides. The crocodile bar was a great unusual addition to a water park and looked fun to stop and have a drink in but the menus were so dark in a dark bar that we couldn’t read them so didn’t order anything. The wave pool was great when it was running but took a while to figure out timings - 10 mins an hour on the hour. A lot of people brought flip flops and left them at the bottom of slides to collect after - not a bad tip as the ground got very hot. Overall a great day!

Terrible experience.
They let in way too much people.
You pay high price to go in and than you spend hours waiting in lines foR waterslides, for drinks, for food, for EVERYTHING interesting. Huge waiting lines on all of the water slides, and I mean HUGE waiting lines.
Also, there are not nearly enough deck chairs for the people they let in.
And all of that you find out AFTER you pay high price for entrance. Wich, by the way, they dont refund, regardles of the sudden rain, wind, or any other situation that may happen.
Also, no normal pool, no pool that you can just hop in and chill or swim few laps.
Only positive thing there is really great croc pool bar. A bar in a pool, inside a rock.

Very big and fun waterpark. A lot of slides, space and tree shade. The best thing is in-water bar with electronic music and the prices of alcohol drinks are good. Other stuff have too much price for what you get. At LAZY RIVER must be couple of staff to watch out for the inflatables that are coming from the slides and back. Also for the kids who are stopping...for romantic couple is quite disturbing. The missing one star (could be 2 but I know that you can fixed this) is from here and the food which is overpriced and could be better, also bubble tea is just a water with bubbles for 5€, shameful. The center of this bustling square is home to a monument of composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini, a native son born in the year 1692. The Church of St.
It has an undistinguished look and unique soul this city of Piran. It is something about it which drives me back all the time. Every time I am finding a tiny piece of unseen, mislooked...all in all a must place to visit and explore.

Really beautiful scenic location. You can climb up the hill to the church, or wander around the alleyways of the town.

Lovely little town on this peninsula. I love the views from the old Castle walls over the orange clay tile roofs. The walk along the waterfront is lovely and to see the boats. They need more parking for motorhomes. The narrow cobbled streets are OK but need cleaning. Highly recommend lovely seaside town.

The heart of the city, impossible to miss. The Fornace parking free shuttle bus stopped us here. Tartini monument with the town hall in the background is the focal point of this nice square surround by cafes and restaurant. It was nice to admire it also from a church's bell tower higher viewpoint!

My favourite place in whole Slovenia probably. The most beautiful daytime is at night. Children playing a bit football there but the crowds are gone. During daylight there are many tourists and it’s quite sunny. But you can sit down in one of the many cafés and have a cappuccino or something.

This little village was such a wonderful surprise! We were staying in Portoroz for a conference and by chance took the free shuttle bus into the village. We then walked everywhere as you cannot drive there. It was so worth it! So beautiful from every angle. Everyone speaks some English too, which was very helpful. But, If you only speak English, be patient and remember they all speak about 4 other languages and we only speak one, so we are the uneducated ones in their space. Delicious Gelato everywhere too!

Piran is one of the most iconic cities in Slovenia.
**Piran**:
Piran is a picturesque town located on the Adriatic coast of Slovenia. It's known for its medieval architecture, narrow streets, and a rich history that dates back to the Roman era. The town boasts a preserved city wall, Venetian Gothic architecture, and beautiful sea views. Piran has a unique charm and is a favorite destination for both tourists and locals.
**Tartini Square (Tartinijev trg)**:
Tartini Square is the main square in Piran and is named after the famous violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini, who was born in the town. In the center of the square stands a statue of Tartini, and surrounding the square are several significant historical buildings, including the Town Hall and the Church of St. George. Tartini Square is a hub of activity in Piran, hosting various events, festivals, and gatherings throughout the year.

St. George's Parish Church is a historical cathedral situated on the waterfront, boasting a clock tower and incredible panoramic views from the top. Constructed in baroque style during the early 17th century, it replaced an older church dating back to 1344. Visitors can view some of the lavishly adorned interior through a metal grille while full access is granted via the Parish Museum of St George, which also features catacombs and treasury items.
It was only a few euros to go up and see the whole Piran from this tower. It is definitely worth to take this bit of a hike on the wooden stairs. The view from here is magnificent. While you are walking on the wooden stairs, there are angel names engraved in the wood in Latin, Hebrew and Old Greek languages. I recommend going up during sunset. You won’t be disappointed!

The church is located above Tartini square, and from here you have a wonderful view of the city and the sea. At the top of the bell tower is Michael the Archangel, turning in the wind and predicting the weather. If it faces the open sea, good weather is expected, when it faces Trieste, the weather will worses.

We have been visiting Piran for few hours on our day trip. The church stands on a hill and from the top of the cliff you have an amazing view of the town and of the coast. The church is dedicated to St. George and is very bright and nice. When we have been visiting there was an artist that was playing an arp and made a very magical and relaxing atmosphere. Loved it.

Piran is a resort city on Slovenia’s Adriatic coast, known for its long pier and Venetian architecture. Tartini Square is flanked by the Gothic red Venetian House and the frescoed Tartini House. The latter is the birthplace of violinist Giuseppe Tartini. The 19th-century town hall has a stone lion, a symbol of the former Republic of Venice. St. George’s Cathedral, nearby, has 17th-century paintings and marble altars.

It's definitely worth it to buy a "combo" ticket of the church and the bell tower. It's only additional 1,5 euro but you get to see the inside of the church way closer than just watching from behind the cage. On top of that, the church houses a museum of the belltower and itself. Containing holy artefacts as well as archeological site. 100% reccomend!

Piran's Old Town boasts a well-preserved fortified stone wall with multiple gates, renovated since the 7th century. The impressive Venetian architecture resembles Italy's famous destinations like Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik. For an entry fee of 2 (1.50 for students) in Sept 2021, visitors can climb up the city walls to enjoy a stunning view over the town and out towards the sea.
For only a few euros, you can walk along the top of the walls and soak in the breathtaking views of the sea and coastline. The walls wrap around the charming town of Piran, so you get a glimpse into the lives of locals and a sense of the town's architecture and layout.
If you're looking for an inexpensive but memorable activity in Piran, the Walls of Piran should be at the top of your list. The views are unbeatable, the history is fascinating, and the admission charge is a steal. Walking along these well-preserved walls is like taking a step back in time, with panoramas that will stay with you long after your visit. Highly recommended!

Overcrowded, fuuull of umbrellas and deck chairs. So many people on one place.. The “sandy beach” is not actually a beach, but a place with a sand, not directly connected with the sea. If you want to get to the sea from this “sandy beach”, you need to cross a concrete sidewalk which is between the sand and sea. The bottom of the sea is then with small stones, so not sandy, sea shoes are nice to have. The place made on me an impression of Balcan Monte Carlo. One afternoon visit is enough. Good to see, but half an hour by car in Croatia you can enjoy a way better swimmimg and environment.

The attraction also features an eatery for guests to enjoy while waiting for their tour. Tickets can be purchased with credit cards and tours typically last 40-45 minutes, where visitors will descend down numerous stairs to reach the bottom of the cave.
An unexpected gem. We stopped by without any real plan or intention, and we had so much fun. It's a beautiful cave with a guided tour lasting about an hour (our guide Igor was funny and engaging), and outside there is a relaxed outdoor restaurant and souvenir shop. Definitely worth a visit!

There was a queue for the ticket and according to the language, group number and tour start time is given. We had to wait almost an hour for the tour to start, after getting the ticket. There are 270 steps each way with 5 chambers where beautiful formations can be seen in the cave. Temperature stays pleasant at 14 degrees celsius all year round.

Flash pictures are prohibited, if you want to make a picture be sure you have enough sensitive camera. While you will be waiting for your guide(if I'm not wrong one tour takes about one hour) there are nice cafe under the cave. It is goid enough and delicious. And, one more bonus, there are interesting tractor history museum, very close to the cave. Better to participate both in "one shot".

The guide will tell about all the different rock formations that can be seen. A really must see experience.
During busy days it could take some time before you can go inside the cave. You will get a group number and time. During waiting you can stay at the location and see some other stuff there, or visit the town of Poreč.

In the cave is 12 celsius degree so make sure you have warm clothes and good shoes, because it is slippery too. There is english, deutch, croatien and french language toure. You can make photos but no use of flash. Have fun!

Jama Baredine is truly a hidden gem in Istria, presenting a mesmerizing display of the underground beauty of nature. Its mysterious allure is further accentuated by the presence of an intriguing inhabitant of the underworld – the human fish, the largest true underground animal and a unique species endemic to these karstic areas.
While it can get quite crowded on days with bad weather, fret not as you are provided with a group number and an approximate entry time upon buying a ticket. The waiting time, which might be slightly longer than usual during the summer season, can be perfectly utilized to explore the other offerings of the place or engage in personal activities.
One such interesting feature is the Tractor Story. It's not just about old tractors, machines, and photos – it's a journey into the history and people of the regio. This exhibit provides a good pastime while waiting for your tour to start.
I give it 5 stars for the immersive and educational experience it provides, coupled with its unique attractions and excellent visitor arrangements. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Istria.
Michael Collavo — Google review
The guided tours are in English or German. When the ticket is bought, you are assigned to a group of around 20 people. Each group is led down into the cave about every 15 minutes, alternating guide language. In some places the path is very narrow and the groups have to wait for each other. The guides are very knowledgeable and give good explanations of what we are seeing as well as keep a close eye to ensure that all members of the group can keep up. Fair warning. Although the cave is well lit and everything is accessible via stairs, it can be a bit claustrophobic. The climb back out of the cave is about 270 steps and is encouraged to be done as fast as possible to make room for the other groups.
Jimmy Dansbo — Google review
An interesting cave to explore, escorted by a guide. The caves are extremely busy and groups are held back at points so as to allow others to exit. The climb back to the entrance is quite exhausting but in general the trip is well worth while. There is a selection of gift shops, a nice family restaurant and plenty of places for a picnic. For a few euro extra the caves can be combined with the tractor museum just a few hundred steps away across the car park.

Cattedrale di San Giusto Martire is a 14th-century cathedral built on a Roman temple that features intricate frescoes and mosaics. Completed in 1400, it showcases a combination of Ravenna and Byzantine architectural styles with 13th-century frescoes and 12th-century mosaics. Inside, the cathedral surprises, among the forest of columns, for the width of the five naves and the magnificent mosaics of the Venetian-Byzantine school (XII-XIII century). the magnificent wrought-iron chandelier overlooking the central nave, forged by Massimiliano for the throne room of his castle and then given to the cathedral before leaving for Mexico where he later died.

The 13th century Cathedral is absolutly stunning. For its age, the well kept nature of the frescos and artefacts surpasses all expectations. We have seen 18th century churches and cathedrals in worse conditions. Have never seen anything like it, especially a cathedral with so many little chapels inside. Amazing, well worth the climb and visit. Almost looks like a movie set for a medieval fantasy film. A holy place rich with history, relics and color!

Irina Kravchuk — Google review
This is a treasure trove of a church for students of medieval art & architecture and the guides do not do it justice. Most European churches were heavily modified during the Baroque era and most of the Medieval and Renaissance decoration was lost. But not San Giusto; the only Baroque elements were in the side chapels. The church itself maintains its medieval 15th century aesthetic.
The church itself retains elements of far earlier churches and temples. It was originally built over a Roman temple in the 6th century and destroyed soon thereafter by the Lombard invasion. Two side-by-side churches were then built in the 11th and 12th centuries both with beautiful mosaic apses. The two churches were joined together in the 15th century, adding a larger central apse which now has a 20th century mosaic on its ceiling that is equally impressive, in its own way.
What is absolutely remarkable are the elements of each that have been preserved. The entry to the bell tower was built on a Roman foundation and many original columns were incorporated. The entire entryway to the church was used from the temple, and the sculpted figures on either side are a reused Roman funerary column. The mosaic floor to the left side of the church remains from the 6th century church and the 11th & 12th century apses have their original mosaics. It is worth a euro coin to turn on the lights to these apses for photos.
Finally, don't miss the 600 year old painting on the walls and ceiling of the rightmost apse. It's pretty deteriorated, but remarkable how much remains.
If you like medieval, don't miss this church in Trieste.

Huge underground cave with stalactites & stalagmites, plus visitor center and guided tours.
An absolutely mind blowing experience. I've been to a couple of really impressive caves in different countries over the years, but the grotta gigante blew them all out of the water. 500 uneven stairs up and down to get in and out, so just make sure you are physically ready and have good footwear. Well with the short bus ride or drove out of the way if you are in the Trieste area.

Great hike with beautiful views that can only be found here! It's the largest navigable cave in the world to traverse without gear. MUST DO if in the area. We went out and it was still an hour from us, well worth it! Have to reserve in advance, but you can reserve a few hours before on the same day. Public transportation in Trieste can take you there if you don't have a car!

We decided spontaneously to visit this cave and fortunately we were lucky to get tickets at the same day. Our tour guide was very enthusiastic about the cave, especially the geographic aspect. It was very interesting and informative. You can also ask questions and she really took her time answering questions. Wear closed shoes and warm clothes since it does get cold in the cave.
Chia-chen Lehahn — Google review
If you are nearby - take the time to visit this!
Tickets costs just ~13 Euros and it is worth it! We managed to go through the cave in less then 2 hours. It was not very cold, nice to have some jacket, but overall shorts will do just fine. Be ready to walk around 1k stairs, but it was quite easy for non-sporty people to manage them as well. There are many stops on the way, so there is time to take a breath and take some cool photos.
Parking is available nearby the entrance and also you can plan in few more minutes to explore the exhibition that is located in the same building. English language tour is also available.

Amazing cavern in Trieste. Well worth taking the time to visit. Accessible by bus from downtown Trieste. Take your time to enjoy one of nature's wonders. Also take a light jacket as it is damp and bit chilly. Quite a bit of walking so be prepared.

What an amazing experience!
We called to book our spots, although at this time of year there wasn't a problem - sounded like it gets much busier in summer.
Worth getting there early - there is a small but interesting museum to see before (or after) you go down below.
We were lucky to have Veronica as our guide, and she explained a huge amount about the most amazing cave I have ever seen 😎
It is quite steep down and up, but very safe and the steps were absolutely solid.
Great to be able to take a few pictures as well to remember it by...although frankly pictures do not do this remarkable natural structure justice - you need to be there to witness it.
Highly recommended - a very easy and regular 42 bus for us from Trieste 👍

This is an absolute marvel! This gigantic cave is a natural wonder that left me speechless. Exploring its depths was like stepping into another world altogether.
The guided tour was informative and engaging, making the experience all the more fascinating. The lighting showcases the cave's features beautifully without disturbing its natural allure.
The highlight, of course, is the iconic "Hall of Mysteries." The moment I stepped into this colossal chamber, I was left in awe. It's an experience that's hard to put into words.
They also offer a free audio guide which contains more languages than Italian and English.
There is always around +11 in the cave, so taking some warm clothes will be useful.
The staff was very friendly and I even talked a bit with a guide after the excursion.
Absolutely recommend to visit!

Didn't expect to visit a cave in Italy but it was really cool glad we did went. It's about 1000 steps total so be prepared.
Greg Farz — Google review
Definitely the largest open area I've seen in a cave. It's overwhelming to enter this huge open space that is completely under ground (as with any cave, of course) and especially to descend to its bottom and then up again. A wonderful experience and a great guide! We had a nice technical discussion and we got interesting details about the earth, not just this cave. Great job!

Huge grotto.
Well-maintained, very safe stairs and intelligent lighting.
Not recommended for people with vertigo and agoraphobia. They should stress this issue more in ads. Depths are huge and spaces vast, one can experience panic attacks similar to ones in open mountains.
Wear proper shoes, floor, especially in non-cavern safe-looking areas is just puddle of water.
Forget warm clothing, its not THAT cold how they warn. You will survive, and kids too.
Upper geodetic pendulum station looks like a location taken straight from Half-Life or Return to Castle Wolfenstein. A must-visit pilgrimage site for geek retrogamers.

I recommend visiting this cave.
It is unique and spectacular, a magnificent landscape.
The internal temperature is approximately 11 degrees Celsius.
You go down a lot of stairs and climb almost as many, but nothing to be afraid of... it's a welcome exercise while you can admire the geological formations.
The guides are extremely nice and answer all the tourists' curiosities. They provide information that everyone can understand about the interior of the cave, both in Italian and in English.

Excellent attraction. We had a great guide; very informative. For a one hour investment it is well worth a visit if in the area.
You must reserve in advance but unfortunately tickets can only be purchased on site.

Astonishing cave! Our 3 year old manage to happily go down 500 steps and 500 up with little help. He did hurry the group to keep going few times because he didn't understand the guide. Our guide was helpful and told us interested informations about mostly anything in the cave. At the exit is possible to buy various minerals and fossils. Great souvenir shop !

The Grotta was so impressive and the guide was very friendly. 500 steps down and 500 steps up. Enjoyable and unforgettable visit. Advise: please send an email to grotta to book your tickets. If you go to the counter, it is possible the group is full.

We enjoyed a very instructive and witty guided tour in the majestic cave near Trieste. (the guided tour is also available in English). It is 11 degrees in the cave so you need at least a jacket.
There are a lot of stairs, but you can take your time and go slowly.
You need to make a reservation via e-mail or phone beforehand.
The cave is reachable also by bus from Trieste city centre.
I also recommend pizza in the restaurant next to the cave.
Peter Kubík — Google review
So far it is my favorite attraction in Italy as it is so unique and I finally managed to cool down a little. The guide was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. I would definitely recommend a visit to the cave ( I called ahead and it was almost fully booked due to the national holiday season)

Zip line rides over wooded cliffs from a popular cave area, with dramatic views of the town Pazin.
Very nice ride. Very professional and nice people.
Not too long, opens your appetite for more😆

Great adventure for adrenaline loving people. The zip line consists of two "routes", first one is shorter and second is longer and faster. Amazing views in both of them. You reach around 45km/h depending on weight.
Whole process including putting safety harness, instructions, ride and walk back to start station takes around 45 min. The reason is, that you are put together with other people in a group of around 12 persons and you have to wait for everyone to make their ride. Its super safe and staff was very professional. Would go again anytime. Well worth 22€.

What a fantastic experience! I was never even in a "big cave" until last year, and this was the first time I spelunked! Took me 69 years, but this is a great place to start, easy, but challenging, and our two guides, Sacha & Sacha, were outstanding. They made sure we were safe and got a good education.

Nice adventure. The two Ziplines in the cave are causing lots of waiting time until 15 people crossed in both ways. The trip would take 45-60 mins instead of 2,5 hours if it was just a walking path. However, at least a quite nice experience for the Kids. Cost was 30 / 25 € for adults / kids (in 2021)
Michael Templin — Google review
Fantastic program! Exciting, special. The tour is led by two friendly experts. We get a helmet. During the entire tour, you have to step over rocks, climb, and in some places there is also a rope belay. The rocks are slippery and require a little skill. You cross the rocks and the water twice on a short wire rope course.
In the depths of the cave, you see experience an interesting presentation on a tablet, and then you can feel the experience of real darkness.
You can only see it with expert.

The cave is very wonderful to see, but a bit challenging. The guides are great and think about everyone's safety at all times. There were two short zip lines in the cave which was quite exciting. The guides also show you different animals which live in the cave and videos of cave exploration. I would recommend visiting if you're in Istria :)

We were there with chidern. It was werry nice and interresting. Guids great. We recommand this visit wery strongly👍👍
Skocjan Caves, a natural wonder in Slovenia, is an extraordinary underground network of fossil-filled caves with a river and canyons. The cave system was carved out by the Reka River over the past two decades and is home to huge, spectacular subterranean chambers that must be explored. The caves offer guided tours to visitors who can witness its beauty up close; it's recommended for visitors to wear warm clothing and sturdy footwear while exploring.
Incredible place, absolutely breathtaking. The murmuring river in the underground canyon leaves unforgettable impression. The scenes inside are like in Lord of the Rings (or Portal 2 game on underground levels).
When you're leaving the cave, you have 3 options to get back to the initial point: two short routes and one long. It's really worth to take the longest route (#3, takes 40min) and see all the beauty of the canyon.
Unfortunately, photos are forbidden inside, even without flash, there is a monitoring (however, a lot of people still do it)
Andrei Belashou — Google review
The tour was stunning. I must say, the cave was bigger and even more impressive than in all the pictures you see of it. I was just astonished most of the times. It does get a little bit hard if you’re afraid of heights because there is a bridge really high up that you need to cross, but the feeling of seeing everything going on in this cave is remarkable
Kim :3 — Google review
If you're looking for an amazing underground adventure, I highly recommend checking out these caves. They were much bigger than expected, with an awe-inspiring array of natural formations and stunning underground landscapes.
One of the best things about these caves was how accommodating the staff were when we were late for our original booking. Despite our tardiness, they still made sure we were able to experience the tour and see all the incredible sights.
However, it's worth noting that there were many people on the tour, which may not be ideal for those who prefer smaller crowds. That being said, the incredible sights were definitely worth the company.
One thing to keep in mind is that visitors aren't allowed to take pictures inside the cave. However, at the end of the tour, you're able to snap a few shots to capture the experience.
Overall, if you're looking for an amazing underground adventure, these caves are definitely worth checking out. While the crowds may be a bit larger than desired, the stunning natural formations and accommodating staff make it an unforgettable experience. Just don't forget to bring a camera for the end of the tour!

Such a great experience. If you go, definitely take the red trail when you come out of the cave. Be sure to get reservations in advance. All of the tours were sold out on the day we went. The initial portion of the guided tour does not allow photography which is unfortunate, but I guess it keeps the tours moving.
P G — Google review
Spectacular in size and impressive. It is like visiting underground canyons with river rapids. The scenery is stunning both inside and outside. We definitely recommend to do the long trail. It is very different from Postojna caves, they are not comparable.

It’s hard to put into words how incredible these caves are/ the experience walking through this cave. The tour was incredible, and I appreciate not being able to take pictures inside as it forces you to focus on the true, raw, natural beauty. The river rushes through as you walk along the dimly lit path. The tour guides are super knowledgeable and it is definitely worth a visit. One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen in my life. As a freshwater ecologist, I was in heaven!
Grace Kotnik — Google review
Looked expensive at 22 euros for the guided tour, but absolutely worth it. Tour is a bit more than an hour through the main caves, and afterwards you can do another unguided part for 30min to 1hour which is amazing.
In may it is still not that busy. Highly recommended.
Note that photos are not allowed in the guided part of the tour
Christiaan Meerkerk — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous place, breathtaking cave. Definitely must-see place. 24€ per adult, recommend online reservation. Taking pictures not allowed in the main cave. Just hide your phones and enjoy the cave.

We had an amazing experience here on a stormy day. By far the most beautiful and biggest cave I have ever visited. Plus, it’s very affordable and the tour guide shares interesting information. The group is quite big, but that turned out to be okay as the guide made sure that everyone could understand him well.

It's hard to find the right words to describe the Skocjan Caves. This place is magical and so raw. I've been to several caves, but this one made a fantastic impression on me. The Skocjan Caves are so huge that you can easily feel the space. Phenomenal rock formations - stalactites and stalagmites, plus a rushing river beneath us. You are not allowed to take photos in the main area. We chose the longest trail - it's beautiful, it was a bull's-eye.
Agnieszka Rybczyńska — Google review
Absurdly breathtaking, the most extraordinary cave experience I've had. The underground canyon is mesmerizing and feels like you have stepped into a scene from Lord of The Rings.
The steps can be a little strenuous and the ground a tad damp so pack in comfortable hiking boots and long sleeves as it can be chilly. No photos are allowed in the caves themselves to preserve the natural light (or lack of it) as much as possible. They even turn off the navigation lights between tours.
An absolute must foe those seeking out the grandeur of caving.
Eden Theron — Google review
The most beautiful cave I have every visited. It is amazing to see that nature can create such massive caves underground. Be aware that the cave has become a big tourist attraction and that buying tickets beforehand is highly recommended. Visiting the cave is done in groups of 40 with a guide. Inside of the cave it is NOT allowed to take any pictures (only at the exit). At the exit of the cave there are three options of returning to the main building. I recommend taking the longest route, if the walking doesn't bother you, as it will take you through some extra caves where you can take some pictures.
Thomas Carsjens — Google review
Very highly recommended for the nature lovers. Many thousands years old limestone caves filled with millions of drip stones (stalactites ) and stalagmites, and one of the world’s largest underground river canyons. The cave is throughout well lit and provided with safety railings along the canyons. There are so many amazing chambers, one of them called the hades chamber is the most spectacular with the largest stalagmite of Europe and one of the largest in the world. There is a guided tour available for 22€, which is absolutely worth the time and the price. Really amazing team of tour guides, very friendly, attentive and informative. Towards the end of the guided tour they provide you with three options to return to the initial point. Two of the routes take you further for small hikes. Unfortunately we had to take the shorter route of 20 minutes, which was mostly stairs. There comes a small detour for the splash falls, which is really awesome. Although the photos are strictly forbidden inside, but people do manage to capture secretly. There is a big parking place with lots of space available.
Animesh Kumar — Google review
These caves were crazy awesome. The tour was fun and I formative, but the caves are just so big. I felt like I was in an Indiana jones movie. So great. At the end of the tour there is a short walk back and a longer one. DO THE LONGER WALK! It is seriously worth the extra 30 min, and you get to see bonus caves and very nice landscapes.

This was the most amazing caves I’ve ever seen, and is definitely a must see if you ever visit Slovenia!!
Remember to buy a guided tour ticket in advance. Our tour guide, Vesna, was just the best, really good at explaining and telling stories about the caves!
You are not allowed to take pictures inside the caves, which really makes you take in the experience.
There are good facilities at the visitor center, where you can buy food and souvenirs.
We will definitely be back the next time we visit Slovenia

Although it's not allowed to take photos in the caves (the place is on the UNESCO list) you are guaranteed to have the greatest experience of your life. To my mind, it is a far more authentic and less commercial attraction than the Postojna cave...
REMEMBER TO BUY THE TICKETS IN ADVANCE!!!

Definitely worth the visit.
From the meeting point we had to do a short walk to the cave entrance at which point the rules were explained and the groups were formed.
The initial sections of the cave weren’t that interesting but the canyon area is truly amazing. You can hear and see the water rushing through.
Compared to Postajna Cave, this one was much better organized. Being less popular also contributes to a better experience.

Very impressive. The tour would remind you of lord of the rings. Also very different from Postojna cave but definitely worth it. Guide was in English and explained well however sometimes not good to hear due to the environment or echo. The doline is very pretty and there are viewpoints or tours that you can follow by yourself. Recommended to buy tickets in advance.

We visited the Skocjan Caves recently, and it was an incredible experience. The natural beauty of these caves is awe-inspiring. The underground chambers, stalactites, and stalagmites are a testament to the wonders of nature.
The guided tour was informative, and our guide was knowledgeable about the geological history of the caves. The highlight was definitely the enormous underground canyon with the rushing river. It felt like being in a different world.
The organization and facilities at the site were excellent, making the visit comfortable and enjoyable. However, one thing that disappointed me was the prohibition on taking photographs inside the cave, it would have been wonderful to capture some memories of this remarkable place.
I would also caution against visiting the souvenir shop on the premises. The salesperson there was unfriendly and seemed disinterested in helping tourists, which was a stark contrast to the overall positive experience of the caves.
Despite these drawbacks, I highly recommend visiting the Skocjan Caves to anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature and geological wonders. It's a must-see attraction in Slovenia.

Under UNESCO protection the biggest underground canyon in Europe. One hour of descent into darkness....well if u see when they turn the lights off behind you. Total darkness, amazing.
Predjama Castle, located 9km from Postojna in Europe, is an impressive fortress that was built within a cave on the side of a 123m cliff. The castle's four storeys were constructed gradually over the years starting from 1202, but the majority of what can be seen today dates back to the 16th century. Its location and design make it appear impenetrable and it features restored living quarters as well as dungeons and even a secret tunnel.
Predjama castle is located approximately 15-minute drive from the highway E61 and 10 minutes from the Postojna Caves, so it is convenient to visit both in the same day. We purchased combined ticket (Castle+Caves) for approx. 40 EUR per person. Parking was not difficult to find, however we arrived relatively late at around 16:30 (castle was closing at 17:00), so I imagine during the peak hours the situation might be different.
There are no guided tours inside the castle, instead you get an audio guide (included in the ticket price) which was available in many languages (at least 15). The explanations were helpful, straight to the point and relatively short, so for me that was one of the best audio guide experience. It took us around 45 minutes to properly explore the castle. Normally castle is open until 17:00 but we were leaving the premises at around 17:15 and no one was pushing us out.
It does indeed look magnificent as almost the whole castle is covered by huge rock. You get to explore many different rooms, some of them looking more like caves and others like actual livable rooms. There are some nice viewing points of the valley at several terraces located in the castle. It is definitely worth to visit as there are not many "cave castles" around the world!
There are couple of restaurants in the proximity of the castle and restrooms near the parking lot.

Very interesting castle and history with the included audio guide. There's a decent amount of walking up stairs and through the rooms, but it's evenly spaced with audio guide sections which are numbered to listen. The parking is average an consists of a paved area with about 50 bays. After this fills up, you park in a grassed marshy paddock which is a bit hard to get in and out once more people start coming. Other than that, good castle but make sure you get there early

Really nice castle built into the cave. The day we went was quite crowded and a bit overwhelming. However, this is not something you want to miss if you’re in town. Here you are given a self guided audio tour, offered in many languages. The castle itself is well curated, but be careful because the stair cases that are connected to the cave part of the castle are very slippery and many people fell. It’s best to go slow and hold on to the railing.
You can access this castle by taking the free bus. This bus comes from the train station - bus station - predjama caves - to the castle. Check the website for the times.

One of the nicest castles i have visited. The castle is located inside of the rocks and that is truly a unique experience to see this. We had an audioguide and were very interested. In every room you can see old furniture, weapons and armour, ... At the end of the tour you'll go inside the rocks behind the castle. This was something i have never seen before. Really worth a visit. The lady in the gift shop was really friendly. (and there's a cat!!)

A truly amazing Castle with a beautiful view. It was very interesting listening to it’s history (they provide audio players). We bought tickets at the small shop when we arrived. If you visiting with babies make sure you have a carrier or just hold them. Lots of stairs (Castle is inside a cave basically). I cannot imagine living in those times in that Castle, it’s just amazing to picture everything in your head. If you are near by, make sure to make a stop here. Is worth the visit!

This medieval castle, which is the largest cave castle in the world, is still intact after 800 years. You'd wonder how they managed to attach a castle to a cave when cement, screws and drills hadn't been invented yet. I had an audio guide explaining different chambers/ rooms. Beware that there are many steps and uneven paths.

Stunning castle that is located in a cave and surrounded by a farming village. The place is definitely worth visiting when in Slovenia and takes an hour to get to from Ljubljana by bus. Worth noting a cab is needed from the Pastojna bus station to the castle. All the shops were closed as we went during off season.
Caves are stunning as well as Predjamski castle. Shuttle bus to the castle start at 10am although castle is open from 9am. Timetable isn't on the web site.

Awesome. Amazing journey. Don't let the "talk" of it being "Disneyland like" deture you from going. The cave "rooms" are HUGE. Incredible complex and a highlight of our trip while in Slovenia. ( €25.80 p/p )

A beautiful natural place, everything very well organized, on time, and although it is a little expensive it was totally worth it.

TICKET OFFICE FOR THE POSTOJNA CAVE. YOU CAN PAY FOR YOUR PARKING AHEAD WHEN YOU BUY YOUR TICKETS SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT WHEN YOU EXIT.

Very efficient, especially if you book ahead online (highly recommended to save time).

An epic tourist attraction from ticket office sales, to the commentated cave experience and subsequent retail options.
We loved it here, it's so quiet and calm. Not overcrowded at all, free choice to place your tent wherever you'd like to. Enough trees to lay in your hamock all day, nice little pool, clean bathrooms. This place clearly has it's history and we thouhgt it was really charming. Wandering around in the woods in the morning and seeing the light beams shining threw the branches is truly relaxing.

We spent one night here - 2 people 1 camper car for 22,50€.
WC and shower stalls are in the basement. There are also a cooking and a washing station available.
Everything was clean but quite cold end of October. The bathrooms aren’t warmed up - and a little aged to be honest.

good camping, high up in the mountains, not new but maintained well. Cabins have everything you need, but not more. perfect for a few days, but would not recomend for longer than a week.

Very nice and cozy place. We stayed both in bungalows and in a tent and everything it's clean, it's a quiet place, people are very helpful: I was out of gas, and the guys from receptions solved my issue in 20 minutes!
There are minor negative things but without relevance, so I will not point it out. A good breakfast each morning, 3 km away from Postojna Cave, couple of restaurants around. Also nice and clean pool.

This camping perfect for one night stay near Postojna Cave. The house was clean with a little bathroom. We had plentiful and delicious breakfast. Fresh bread, hams, fried eggs, several kinds of cheese and vegetables.
The forest is quiet and very cozy. Very nice place. Totally appropriate value for money.

They forgot us to tell we need to order bread for the next day. Great camping site in the woods. Restaurant ok, but not bad. Showers and toilets are old but clean. Perfekt located to visit the big cave of Postonja or even a day trip to Ljubljana.

We went here camping for three days
It's a big campsite with a free choice of place. We found a quiet spot between the trees which helped us stay cool in the heat. The kids enjoyed the pool very much.
I loved the quiet environment and I highly recommend waking up early to take the Pivka Jama and Black Cave tour at 9am.
An extra compliment for the staff that is seemingly always present to clean, trim and keep an eye on everything.

Rating for bungalows only, I did not visit the camping area. Everything is super old, showers are clogged flooding the entire bathroom. Walls are damp and cold, buildings smell like mould and cigarette smoke. Beds and mattresses are probably 40 years old, squeaking and cracking with every move. However everything is very clean (as much as is possible with furniture this old), bathroom is clean and gets disinfected, sheets are clean and tidy. Service employees obviously give their best. Still wouldn't really recommend.

Friendly staff, keeping it simple, affordable camping, placed in a deep peaceful forest setting, very attractive locations for setting tent, basket and tennis playground, routes for biking and trekking..

Excellent camp site with cabins which we used. I. Nature and very quiet. Good facilities.

We stayed in one of the stone huts which had a small (quite badly equipped) kitchen, a dinner table, a toilet and shower and a double bed downstairs and steep spiral stairs up to a mezzanine with 2 single beds. When we arrived there was a terrible smell of damp inside and black stuff on the walls. This smell slightly faded over the 3 nights we were there although when we opened the kitchen cupboards we got wafted with the smell and everything in the cupboard had to be washed again before we used it as it smelled so bad. Despite this, the place did grow on us and it would be quite a nice place it just needs a big revamp. The staff are very friendly and when we informed them of the issue they came down very quickly and offered us either a big discount or for them to move us to a place in the town as all of the other huts were occupied. They did say the damp was due to the floods and ours was the worst affected but the damp was clearly quite old. The forest campsite was very nice with a small clean pool, a basketball court, table tennis and tennis courts but you had to pay a lot to use the courts and they didn't have tennis rackets for people to rent. They had basketballs and table tennis rackets for people to borrow. The restaurant was nice, especially for one on a campsite, and had a variety of dishes. There were also the pivka jama caves on site but they were very expensive for small caves. We were also a half an hour drive from postojna Caves which were massive and amazing. You got a little train down to the centre of the caves then had an hour tour around them. Great activity for everyone.

Camping located 10 min away from Postojna Cave. It’s quite old (especially the bathrooms) and quite expensive for what it offers. The mini market is closed, the restaurant doesn’t look interesting at all. It was fine for one night but overpriced and if I new that we could sleep in our campervan at Postojna parking over night for half the price I would do that for sure.
Zosia K — Google review
the employees are very uncouth and make fun of people who don't speak good english. Are very interested in profit, not satisfaction. The restaurant is good. the bungalows not very hygienic. There could have been a broom or something similar in the bungalow, it got dirty unintentionally and no cleaning lady came, even if we stayed for several days.

We stayed 1 night in bungalow nr 22. This bungalow has serious moisture and fungus problems. We were idiots and should never have agreed to stay there. Our estimated life expectancy have now probably been reduced by 5 years.
Our syay was originally 2 nights but we got out after 1.

I stayed here for two nights in a tent in May and I really love this campsite! The site is beautifully located in the forest and still had the forest feel. Lot of shade and options to choose pitches with some privacy. There are also many services available like a pool, beachvolleybal, basketball and tennis court. Restaurant has nice food and the people were really kind and helpful. Cave and castle also close by. And this all for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Nice campground with everything you will need. It is quiet and spacious.
Bring some good stakes and a hammer as the ground is very compact and hard.
Prices are around 15 Euros per person per night if you go there with a car and sleep in a tent.
Wolke — Google review
We went with a camper, there are no set pitches so people stand wherever they like, meaning you pay 40 euros to park on standard parking lot. Make your self a favour and sleep in postojna cave parking lot, it costs only 20 euros. The camper services are very inconvenient and the camping shop is closed.
Jędrzej Wissuwa — Google review
The fairly spacious campsite is beautifully situated directly in the forest and offers numerous tent and mobile home pitches as well as individual holiday homes. We really liked the forest atmosphere. The site includes a restaurant, a small pool and sanitary facilities that are a bit dated, but which were always clean. Unfortunately, the supermarket is closed. A big advantage is definitely the proximity to the "Postojna Caves".
National museum with a broad collection of paintings & artifacts, including a 60,000-year-old flute.
Fabulous place, interesting castle. Friendly staff! I would suggest a visit, especially to whom love history and stories.

This is such a nice little castle. Beautiful on the outside and very well taken care of on the inside. I had somewhat of a private tour since I was the only one and the girl great. Her English was great and she knew so much about the castle. Any question I had about the castle or one of the items…all answered in a split second. It was a great tour! Thank you so much (took the tour on monday 10th of July 2023 at 13.00…don’t remember her name anymore, but if you read this: you were great!)

We were lucky to get a personal tour which lasted an hour and I think good value. Is more a hunting lodge than a castle.
Finally seen a good use for a boar!

Beautiful castle located essentially in the middle of nowhere. It's in great shape, fresh looking paint and new roof. Free parking on site. It's a few euro to enter into the castle, however I chose not to. You can walk around the castle on a nice path. Highly recommend. About 1 hour from LJ or 35 minutes from Postojna.

Beautiful fully restored castle which statted as a small medieval fort but was later built up and redesigned. It's final look and style was done during the renesanse period. Thete is also a huge park area around the castle perfect for relaxation.

Well preserved castle. They say that it wasn't built for defence and that it is the reason why it is so beautiful.

The castle and the surroundings are just breathtakingly beautiful. We took a tour of the interior and it was actually really interesting - the interior preserved and the tour good informative and kind.

I visited this castle 1967 with my grandmother, who came from Nadlesk. At that time, it was called "Titograd". .
We were told it was a place where President Tito came for a rest or holiday.
The Krizna Cave in Slovenia is an impressive underground cave system with over 20 lakes that visitors can explore by boat. Unlike most other Slovenian caves, the Krizna Cave provides its visitors with lamps and boots for their visit as there is no electric lighting inside. The tour lasts around one to two hours and takes you through the dry parts of the cave, including a short boat ride on the first lake.
Did the 7h tour in a group of four plus our guide Gašper. Were really lucky because the water level and humidity conditions were perfect, so we could still sail comfortably in the little boats and see clearly with the lights on. Excellent example of conservation and care of nature which here comes first before us tourists. This was once in a lifetime experience and I definitely recommend it to those who are able to do it!

Very interesting visit. We highly recommend to take the visit also to the bear tunnel because is worth it. The cave doesn't have any artificial light or path, which keeps its originality. The guide was a really enthusiastic woman who explained everything really good. I would definitely reccomend it, also not so crowded with tourist.
PS: We found a semi real cave bear xD

Unique experience! Much less touristy than the Postojna caves (also less lighting, you can't see as much but you feel more like the people who first discovered the caves). Be sure to bring cash as there is no electricity to process card payments.

Fantastic cave and good guide. We did the short tour, about 1 1/2 hour. Lots if explanation.
They also do the 4 and 8/9 hour tours. Only on reservation and a limited nr of people per year. We had a group of 6. Very worth the visit.

This is a great place to have a more 'authentic' cave experience than that on offer at the nearby Postodjna Jama. Without any artificial lighting (except for torches and lighting under the boat) you get a real sense of being underground in monsterous caverns. On paper some of the caverns in the Postodjna Jama system are larger, but they feel much smaller in comparison due to the use of artificial lighting. The guides here are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic with excellent English. The boat ride and cave bear skull are real highlights. Tours last approximately one hour and waterproof boots and torches are provided. Warm clothing (long trousers and a jumper/fleece) is highly recommended.

The 4hr excursion through the cave lakes was an excellent experience. The cave itself and the underground ecosystem is mesmerising and we also had a fantastic guide - Luka, who had great knowledge, super skills and brilliant humor. Even my male partner "fell in love with him a little bit" which is as big of a compliment as it gets :-D Well done Luka, you made this experience even more special for us with your presence and expertise

Really interesting cave exploration, even though it's much less publicized. They equip you with a flashlight and guide you into the cave. There are no other light sources in the cave, which makes a very cool experience. The only disappointment on 1 hour tour is, that the boat part is very short, around 15 min. I would highly suggest to book longer tours in advance, but note that queue time is quite long.

When we arrived at the parking we read that they only accept cash, so we had to drive to the nearest atm some kilometres away to find an ATM. This meant we had to wait for 2hrs till the next tour. The guide first explains the underground system and that we only walk for 650m, followed by a short boat trip and then walk back. The experience underground was incredible, and would love to do a longer tour another time.

This was probably the best tour I have ever done. Gasper, the tour guide, was able to get a tour for us with only one days notice to the first lake and the bear cave for my family of six. The cave was amazing and unlike any cave I had ever toured. The only light was from the provided flash lights. Gasper was an excellent tour guide and spoke excellent english. The tour was not to challenging even for my 6 year old.

Not as popular as the Postocjan or Skocjan caves, but well worth a visit. There are several guided tours available which give you a unique opportunity to explore this cave in a more personal setting. Highly recommended to reach out to them beforehand since the weather (eg lots of rain) might impact the available tours and overall capacity is very limited. Some tours only take 4 people max, because you go further into the cave with a rubber boat.
It's impressive to see some fossils and marks of the cave bears (bigger than polar bears) who lived in this cave thousands of years ago.
Finally, take it easy on the gravel road towards the cave. Cars go in both directions and space is limited.

We had the four our tour with Gaspar. It was very exciting and Gaspar was very dedicated to the cave and the geology.
Remember warm clothes and socks.
Book your tour in advance ( 6 months or more)
We loved it.

We did the small tour one hour tour and it gives you and idea of how beautiful this cave is. We wished the tour was longer but the bigger ones need to be booked upfront. Any one traveling with a dog: they just build two perfect dog cages in the shadow, about 30meters from the entrance of the cave. We were the first ones the use it. So you can safely leave your dogs while you enjoy the cave. Big big plus for us!
