The public golf course located in Ballybunion, Ireland is known for its challenging 18 holes. The championship course features a bigger golf course with longer par 4s and slightly wider fairways. Two different courses to play, the Old Course offers a more challenging experience and the Cashin Course is designed for players who are looking for an easier round.
In great condition at the moment and will only get better through the Spring and Summer. Top course and always a pleasure to play at Ballybunion, thanks for a great day !

I had a very wet and very windy experience at Ballybunion Golf Club. The course held up well with the conditions. Our caddy Mike did great for us. He has 16 years at the course.
Kraig Fisher — Google review
Positive first: the service was pleasant and friendly. However the views are spectacular. shame the decor doesn't complementary and the food wasn't so processed and fried. There were no options for people with dietary restrictions and the menu was reliant on a fat frier. Such a shame when there is great local produce available.
Larissa Murphy — Google review
The ambience in the bar and restaurant is just lovely, the food is good , but it's the view back along the 18th towards the Atlantic that makes this place so worth a visit !!!!
Donal O'Shea — Google review
Ballybunion did not disappoint! The course was in fantastic shape and the staff was very friendly. My caddie Aidan helped me quite a bit on my round and I loved every minute of this hallowed place. Every hole was unique and special, but holes 15-18 were one of the best finishes I think you will find anywhere in golf. Worth every penny!

Two of the most beautiful and challenging links course's the Old Course and Cashen Course.
Must play on a golfing trip to Ireland.
Peter Wortmann — Google review
The old course is one of, if not the most beautiful course I’ve ever played. Our caddy, Teddy, was incredible- full of on course and historical knowledge. The staff were excellent in the clubhouse as well. It’s a must play in Ireland.
Seth Courtney — Google review
This place is incredible. Some awesome views out there. Dunes and rough are legit, don’t hit the ball there. Caddies were incredible and didn’t loose a ball all day. Course conditions were good as well.
Will Peoples — Google review
Excellent courses as group did old and new one and found it very good, they were delighted they went.
Staff are excellent and a lovely pro shop, lovely food and a relaxed area to just relax and have a good time.
Every group I've brought here love it and say an excellent challenging course
Padraig McGuire (BusManPaddy) — Google review
Great place for food and drinks with a great view over the ocean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely time with the family.
Niall O Casey — Google review
Great classic golf course along the Atlantic. Hilly dunes, elevated greens and winds makes it a worthy challenge for any golfer. It's a hard course best played by players with HCP of less than 18. Restaurant food is not as good as the course.
Mats Lindelöw — Google review
Playing golf at Ballybunion is one of the best Irish golfing experiences. Excellent challenge from holes 1 to 18 and the 19th is not too bad either! :)
Concierge Golf Ireland — Google review
Amazing links course with fantastic surroundings.
There's no place else in Ireland like Ballybunion by the sea.
Patrik Larsson — Google review
Ballybunion was another fantastic golf experience. Despite the chilly weather and slight drizzle of rain, or maybe because of it, we all thoroughly enjoyed played yet another incredible example of links golf for a reasonable price. Wonderful staff and great facilities are also to be found here.
Another must for any visiting golf enthusiast.
Attraction is composed of a cave system with a family play area, falconry and cafe. It is well-maintained and has audio that is informative. The group size for the attraction is 12 people per time, but it allows another group when in so there is no confusion about who's talking. The food at the cafe was good and affordable. There was construction outside of the playground which was disappointing because it meant less children to play onsite.
Amazing find that wasn’t on our travel list, but I’m glad we found it! A few local spots recommended going and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were all super friendly, the self-guided tour with the audio guide was very interesting, and the actual caves were something special! Would highly recommend!
Rummel Trouble — Google review
The cave is not very big, some nice stalactites and stalagmites but for the size of it I would say 15 euro per person is a bit much. The cafe is really nice though and the food was good. The outside children's playground was under construction and closed.
Liz Cosgrave — Google review
Enjoyed being inside this ancient cave , well maintained and audio was very informative. We were group of 12 and as per website 12 people at a time and they allowed another group when we were in and audio got mixed up with others. Otherwise it is worth visiting. Outside dining was really good. Delicious food on affordable price.

Excellent stop for a quick adventure. The cave is impressive! The audio tour was informative and easy to use from my phone. Very cute gift shop and cafe in the lobby as well. there’s also an outdoor play area for the kids. Great for families.
M.E. Photography — Google review
Nice small cave, it is very well suited for families with young children as it has a soft play section and the cave would be a good size for little feet however for teens it’s rather quick to get up and down it and not much interactive learning. The cave though is still nice to see and visit and the complete area is well maintained
Tilly's World — Google review
Great food, and great for children. The kids loved the caves. And then got to play in the big indoor play areas. Staff was extremely friendly and nice.
Tasha Marie — Google review
It is not as impressive as the marble arch caves and is definitely more pricey. You don't get a face to face tour here, and one adult and one 10 year old cost €21 for a walkabout that lasts a few minutes. In the marble arch caves, you get one hour face to face tour for one adult and child at 12 euros.
The Republic is robbing the people, and the UK is in a worse financial state than it.
Stephen McElligott — Google review
Lovely cave, upon entry you can download and listen to the self-guided audio that talks you through the history and formations in the cave. The tour will take about 35-45 minutes. Constant 10c inside the cave all year round.
〈〉 — Google review
A very pleasant place for everyone. While children have fun in the large play area, adults can go on an excursion to the cave, and after that they can all spend time together in the cafe on the territory of the complex. A very pleasant cafe imbued with the Christmas spirit.

Amazing little find.
Was well worth a Impromptus detour.
Staff were lovely. Especially Caroline.
I went to the cave (without booking) €15.
Left my mum in the cafe with a drink.
It was stunning in the caves. Takes about 30 mins....
Really informative audio tour.
Really would recommend it.
Was a highlight of my travels.
Lisa JFallding — Google review
Self guided tour is perfect for taking time to explore the caves
Colin Gray — Google review
Great play area, lovely freshly baked goods in the cafe, really helpful and kind staff and the cave is decent, not too long so suitable for young kids all the way up. All up a great experience on Easter Sunday!
Regina O Keeffe — Google review
As usual an unplanned visit to this place! Turned out to be the best decision taken. I wasn't sure if my 6 yr old would like to see the caves, but it took me by surprise to see how mesmerised she was to see the caves.
The temp in the caves is 10 degrees, better wear appropriate wear to keep warm.
Suggestion: Do.wear appropriate footwear (preferably runners with good grip)
The place has a shop outside and a coffee shop serving hot and fresh food.
Toilets are available at the entrance and play area for kids (indoor soft play+ outdoor playground).
initially I felt the entry fee was a bit high, but the place is well maintained and safety is prioritised. So I think it was fine.
Altogether, worth the visit.
melanie lewis — Google review
There are a few steps to the cave, and you take them steps back. I suggest wearing comfortable shoes, and on wet days, I'd bring a rain jacket as rain can seap through the rocks.
You get a downloadable audio tape that tells you about the cave as you go along. It's really beautiful, so please don't judge this place on my pictures.
The Hooting Owl — Google review
Stopped off here on the way to Dingle. Family of 4 was 35euro, audio tour is via an app you download, tour was self guided so you can set your own pace. Caves have some impressive stalagmites & stalactites, temperature is a constant 10 degrees. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area
Cliff Walk Kilkee is a stunning coastal trail that starts at the Diamond Rocks Cafe in the town of Kilkee. The walk offers breathtaking views of Pollock holes, Diamond Rocks, and Intrinsic Bay. With no barriers between the pathway and the cliff's edge, it provides an exhilarating experience. The scenery along the cliffs is comparable to that of Cliffs of Moher but without the crowds, making it a peaceful and picturesque hike.
Amazing! They were so impressive. They are similar to the cliffs on moher and it's completely free. We went for the walk during the sunset. Highly recommended.

Stunning cliff walk, take your time to take in the view, the sounds, the smells. Quite steep in places but a good footpath all the way
Deirdre Arthur — Google review
Beautiful and easily accessible for all. Not a touristy place at all. Mostly locals doing their daily hikes. Scenery matches the cliffs of Moher without the barriers. I would go back in a minute to hang around Kilkee and the wonderful people of this community.
Michael Pepin — Google review
The most amazing walk, you can see the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands from this walk. This stunning scape changes everyday and its free.
Elizabeth Doré — Google review

Dermot O'Mahony — Google review
Absolutely stunning scenery. A beautiful short walk along the cliffs at Kilkee, giving you the chance to witness the unique geography of the region. The views of the cliffs, the sea, the rock formations, and the verdant background are well worth the trip. There are a couple of quite steep sections near to the end of the trail, so keep those in mind if you have any accessibility concerns, though portions of them do have a railing. However the majority of the trail has a paved pathway without steep inclines. There's a stairs along the way to go down and wander along the rocky cliff side. A walk for a nice day.
Crystal Ní Chlochartaigh — Google review
The Kilkee cliffs walk was really awesome. It is usually very windy but the best time is afternoon till sunset.
Pranav Rathi — Google review
I’d highly suggest anyone going to Cliff of Moher to start from BallyIaan starting point!
Put in this address from google map and appx 5mins before destination you will see a sign that says Cliff Parking to redirect you. Follow that sign and it will take you to a parking lot run by a resident. It’s $5 per car. Bring cash. If someone is not there you can drop it into the money drop box. Then from there the walk to the starting point is maybe about 10mins?
This trail really gives you that EXPERIENCE vs if you enter through the visitor center…. Yeah it’s nice too but feels more like a stop & take pic & go kind of thing. You miss out on the true CLIFF WALKING experience I think. The view of the cliff from here is amazing and it builds up as you get near the visitor center. I went twice during the weekdays. Once at 9am and the next day at 7am. Both times there were hardly anyone there. NOT crowded at all. I took my sweet time taking all the photos and videos.
From starting point to visitor center if you don’t stop and just walk you can probably get there in an hour. I took gazillion pics on the way there and took me over two hours. On the way back I walked without taking too many pics and it took me little over an hour.
Enjoy and be safe!
Highly recommend taking this ferry instead of taking the long way around. They come fairly often and are a great opportunity to relax and enjoy some views of Ireland!

Rode the Shannon Breeze back on Sept. 2, 2011 on a gray day from Talbert. Drove our rented Citroen on board and enjoyed the views of the lighthouse, the ugly power plant behind it and the river and coasts themselves.

A simple service they provide but for the price it costs I must say its fantastic. You really get value for your buck with Shannon ferries! Staff were friendly and I could bring the dog across without a car, provided my collie wouldn't be any hassle and under complete control, which she was, so all was grand. This is the definition of good old fashioned irish hospitable service 💚🤍🧡

The Trump International Golf Links and Hotel Doonbeg Ireland is a luxurious oceanfront hotel with high-end rooms, suites, fine dining options, a spa and a golf course. The hotel has been praised for its excellent cuisine, particularly the breakfast. It is recommended to book dinner reservations in advance due to small dining areas. The golf course was designed by Greg Norman and sits on the cliffs overlooking the coast.
An amazing experience! Stayed for 1 night and cannot praise highly enough. The staff were absolutely fantastic and the food was top notch.

Firstly, it's a lovely location to dine in. With stunning views out over the sea, and a comfortable cosy Bar too. The food is good, but it should be for a 5* Hotel, the problem is the food is quite "ordinary" which is fine, if that's the market, "Americans" etc who, let's face it, haven't a clue about what good food actually is anyway! It's just "overpriced" and simply not worth what they are charging. That said, for an occasion, its lovely and the wine list is second to none too! So if you have deep pockets, and you like basic enough food and want to dine at an amazing location Trumps is for you!

If I could give 10 stars I would! Had an amazing stay here the night of my wedding. From the moment we arrived we were treated like luxury. The suite was absolutely stunning, excellent decor and quality furniture. The service throughout our stay was phenomenal. When faced with a hairdresser crisis, the Attache team was able to remedy the situation before my wedding planner could and had a wonderful woman there within 30 minutes! They even brought a bottle of prosecco to the room to help calm my nerves. We will definitely be coming back for another visit. Love the staff, the grounds, the service and experience. Thank you Trump International Doonbeg, you are all FANTASTIC!

My husband and I stayed in a one-bedroom villa. The room was absolutely gorgeous! It was well-decorated, extremely clean, and the service was amazing! We took a nice walk on the beach, had many drinks at the bar and enjoyed the grounds. Although he nor I golf, the resort itself offers bikes and other amenities. We will definitely return for longer than 2 nights!

The Donkey Sanctuary Ireland is a place where rescue donkeys and mules who have been abused or neglected can find shelter, love, and the necessary care they need to live happy and healthy lives. The sanctuary is open to the public for free, and you are invited to walk among the animals, meet some of them in person, and sponsor one if you feel moved.
Such a lovely place with such a beautiful cause. Can't fault the adonkey sanctuary. People there are so nice nice friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Plenty parking. Grounds are kept immaculate. You can tell by the donkeys that they are well looked after.
Went today for a little Easter hunt. Very well layed out and organised. Very very reasonable. Making a donation. I think if anything to try maybe get a little funding that a minimum 5 euro price for even parking your car there wouldn't go astray. I know it is completely based off donations but if everyone paid even a fiver it would all add up. I think even a fiver per car and 5 euro admission most definitely should be charged. Because it deserves it.

One of my favorite places in Ireland--the Donkey Sanctuary is a serene and beautiful place that will restore your faith in humanity. When people band together to save creatures that need our help, it gives me hope. Be sure to hike up to the top of the hill and spend some time enjoying the 360-degree view, the castle below, and the wide open sky above.

Absolutely beautiful place, very accessible and easy to visit. Great initiative and can only recommend.
One thing that irritated me though was the barbecue taking place right next to the visitor center, I guess I expected a more holistic pro-animals attitude, and not rescuing the one farm animal whilst grilling the other

I visited this amazing place several years ago and have been a supporter ever since. We are yearly adopters of a donkey and usually gift another. They do wonderful work and if you get a chance to visit go! Now we have our own rescued donkey Angus and we support here and rescues in the US. They are smart, loving, totally committed long-living creatures. We learned that at this sanctuary.

Lovely place to visit while in Cork to see all the donkeys been cared for so well, lovely stroll around the farm all for free. Nice gift shop and opportunity to make a donation to this worthy cause as they rely on donations or for people to adopt a donkey. Well worth a visit
Colm Lynch — Google review
A bit off the beaten path and if you’re in the area it’s 100% worth the visit.
We went on a weekday when the visitor center was closed since we had adopted one of the donkeys (Roma). The workers were very helpful in showing us where she was and bringing her over to us with a snack.
You can tell the donkeys are well cared for if you’re familiar with farms generally. The donkeys aren’t very shy either they’re keen to get some pets and especially a carrot.
There are also footpaths that go beyond the houses into the fields but it was closed due to the weather and also probably just the time of the week.
The place has a sanitation station and clean toilets.
At the Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum, you can find a replica of the original B314 flying boat, as well as information about maritime history in the Shannon Estuary. The museum also has an ORegan Restaurant and Irish Coffee lounge where you can enjoy some food and drinks.
This was a brilliant couple of hours, adult tickets were only €8 and for that you can walk all the way around the flying boat, and visit three floors of decent exhibitions. The highlight is obviously the boat, you'll almost miss the stairs to the upstairs where you can sit in the cockpit. The Maureen O'Hara collection has some wonderful pieces, including an actual Oscar statue, and the Foynes harbour section has some great history about the history of trade and industry in the area. Make sure you go all the way to the the fourth floor as you can go outside and use the binoculars to look out across the Shannon estuary.
Stuart Saint — Google review
As I stepped into the museum on the weekend, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming lady at the entrance. I bought my ticket and began my journey through the halls filled with historical information, immersing myself in the rich tapestry of the location's past.
The staff members were lovely, and I was treated to a captivating historical movie that shed light on the museum's significance and the area's fascinating history. As I explored further, I marvelled at the different planes on display, particularly the majestic sea flying boats, which showcased why Foynes was an ideal hub for such a unique mode of travel.
One of the highlights of my visit was exploring the life and legacy of the legendary actress Maureen O'Hara as I learned about her iconic roles and admired her timeless costumes on display.
But the most unforgettable moment came when I stepped inside a real flying boat, amazed by the sheer size and grandeur of these magnificent aircraft.
To top it all off, I concluded my visit with an authentic Irish coffee experience, savouring the blend of flavours.

Small sea plane museum in town of Foynes, Co. Limerick. Carpark outside. Access through resturant/cafe & gift shop.
Museum is interesting as it's full of facts regarding seaplanes landing in river Shannon. You get to see a real PAM seaplane. It's very big and impressive! You can go inside, sit in passenger seats, visit cockpit & navigation room. A must for any plane enthusiasts. Young children and adults can also enjoy a flight stimulation.
The main museum covers information about important locals, maps, Foynes boating & shipping memorabilia, navigation artifacts, weather reports, etc. Also little hologram video about the first Irish coffee made a served in Foynes. Due to covid restrictions Irish coffee wasn't available to purchase or enjoy!
Included in ticket price is the Maureen O'Hara exhibition, Maureen opened the museum in 1989 & visited it every year till her death in 2015. The exhibition is a little room of a few dresses, some awards and general information regarding Maureen. All items donated by her grandson.
Worth a visit if in area but only a once. Cost of 2 seniors, 1 adult and 1 child €39. Wheel accessible in main museum only.
Caroline Kavanagh — Google review
The museum seemed to be very spaced out the last floor had hardly anything in it. The woman at the desk area seemed like she was having to do the job of two people as she had to escort people in then come back and serve at the ticket and gift shop area. There was a very good hologram room but I felt like it could have been displaying more than it was. It was very interesting walking around the flying boat model this was the highlight of the museum for me.

Very warm welcome from reception desk.
Car park easy to use and immediately in front of meuseum.
Film show excellant in theatre.
Replica flying boat amazing and to be able to sit in cockpit great fun.
Well laid out.
Newly installed Maureen o hara visit very good and adjourning cinemea showing exerts from films novel.
Would have liked much more info on technical details of planes/ engines but do see need for all inclusive appeal for all ages.
Foynes Irish coffee expensive but worth it.
Pity gift shop did not sell models of planes as am sure people of my generation would have purchased.
However good exhibits and hologram films.
Maritime bit...strange and sparse but gave history of port.

The Flying Boat Museum is a great visitor in West Limerick. The flying boat facility itself is spread over 3 floors. It would, I feel, benefit from being all on a larger ground floor area with the Yankee Clipper placed in the middle with the Control rooms and other boat equipment placed around the perimeter !
The Maureen O'Hara Museum is magnificent and very well laid out with costumes and items from her long acting career including the 2014 Honorary Oscar also displayed. Don't leave without trying the Irish Coffee !

Recently visited the Museum after waiting a decade to see it. I was not disappointed. Wonderful museum of aviation. So much going on. From the amazing Boeing 314 , The invention of the Irish Coffee 1943 , The Maureen O Hara exhibition including an Oscar.
I was so impressed with the Maritime museum, though I felt more prominence should be given to local Foynes native and legendary mariner Conor O Brien

I had no idea this museum was so interesting OR that it's also a "Maureen O' Hara" exhibit/display. Not sure why it's not advertised more. Nanas and Grandads will love the MOH section, parents will enjoy the ease with which you can get around the place (buggy friendly) kids will love sitting in the cockpit of the flying boat and if Michael O' Leary ever sees how spacious the seating on the plane is, he'll hurl himself into the estuary. At first I thought it wasn't going to be this interesting but man was I wrong! Very interesting history captured in this place and presented in a lovely story like manner. Tons of videos, games, holographic presentations and so much more. If you love aviation, military history and world war stuff, you have to check it out!

Started with a delicious coffee, scone and an Irish coffee, followed by a wonderful film of the history of Foynes, concluding with a most interesting tour of the wonderful facility. A most enjoyable excursion.
John Burns — Google review
The tour starts with an informational video about the history of the Flying Boat (sea plane) followed by a walk-in visit of the actual plane. There’s a relative big section of ships & other maritime related stuff.
Worth a visit if you’re in Foynes or in the nearby towns.

Wonderful museum undergoing expansion. Is very good now will be better when complete. Part of a flying boat, many displays, information, viewpoints and coffee shop. We'll worth the admission fee.

It was a pity that the place was closed for renovations. We did get a walk round by special permission for a nominal donation. The clipper was awesome as was the rest of the museum. Pity the simulator was down due to the work on the place. Hats off to them for letting us in

Lahinch Beach, located in County Clare, is a renowned destination for surfers due to its slower rolling Atlantic waves, making it an ideal place to learn the sport. The beach offers a beautiful and clean environment with great surfing waves. During high tide, the waves crash against large rocks, but as the day progresses, the beach becomes beautifully sandy. While lifeguards are present during summer months, visitors should be cautious during low season when no lifeguards are on duty.
Fabulous day at Lahinch beach! Nice and cozy small town. Spent time with family and friends for picnic and surfing.. Enjoy!

Absolutely stunning beach especially at sunset time 😍 when it rains, some people still try to enjoy it and surf.
Spacious parking just right there.

An incredible place. A must for any beach/surf lover. Friendly folk and lots of dining options. Surf rentals and classes available beach side. Amenities close by including public toilets, a playground and leisure centre. A firm family favourite.

Beautiful beach.... Depending on high or low tides you may have to walk a little to find a place to put your picnic mat and chill. But it's worth it. You And the kids can play in water. there is a car park (7mmin walk) from the beach which is free ..not sure about the one close to the beach guess you need to pay for it. There in toilet facility. Lots of places to eat and ice cream shops. A Must visit place....

Such a nice little beach with some fun waves. I’ve enjoyed my trip so far. Lots of great surf schools all around and fun surf shops and good food.

Great spot for beach walks when low tide. During high tide the water is splashing almost onto the street. Low tide goes way out. Lots of first time surfing classes going on when we were there. But also locals getting in their daily swim! 🥶
Kevin McCabe — Google review
Very Busy place, parking is 2 euros for 3 hours if you can get a spot. Tons of surfers. Close to restaurants and shops. There is a great kids playground and the beach of course. Check for high tide as it completely covers the beach which happened on the visit.

A beautiful clean beach with great waves for surfing. The morning there’s a high tide so the waves crash against large rocks but during the rest of the day the beach becomes beautifully sandy with waves for surfing. During the summer there’s a lifeguard but towards September onwards you need to be careful since this is the low season and no lifeguards are present. Next to the beach there’s a very nice hipster style cafe with healthy foods and drinks. There’s also a leisure centre, wall climbing, surfing lessons and kayaking. Beautiful area!
Mandy “Mandy” Sarkis — Google review
Surfers paradise, rough tide dashing against massive constructed boulder seafront wall. Plenty of convenient good facilities for visitors, including clean public toilets at the beach front. The town itself is lovely, full of quaint and quirky shops, restaurants and galleries. But extremely busy with humans, from everywhere, for the Covid times we are battling with right now!
Mary Rooney — Google review
Beautiful beach with lots of parking and all amenities (toilets, cafe etc..).. However would definitely recommend checking the tide times before embarking if you plan to spend extended time on the beach.. We went there in afternoon, around 2 PM and the sea water had already engulfed most of the beach and within next 40-50 mins, what was a beach front turned into a promenade with waves thrashing its walls!!.. Nice little town also with lots of good eating options all very near to the beach/promenade front.. Next time hopefully we will enjoy more beach time..

This trekking trip was amazing! My daughters and I really enjoyed ourselves. It was a combination of walk, trot, and a bit of cantering. The views were spectacular. The horses are incredibly well-trained and I felt very comfortable with Peter and his crew. This was the highlight of our vacation--great job, Peter! We had so much fun.
Sarah Gaudiano — Google review
Immensely exciting horseback riding experience. Beautiful landscapes and views of 3 different attractions, incredible tour guide, darling horses. I even got the chance to canter! It was exhilarating and I’d love to come back sometime! Guaranteed you will not find a better horseback riding tour in all of Ireland, I reviewed 10 different places and am so glad I picked this one!

My grandma and I went on the dirt trek. Despite it being a rainy day, it was a lot of fun. The views were beautiful and the countryside was peaceful. Neither of us are experienced riders, but Peter was extremely nice and patient. It was a fantastic experience!

The highlight of our trip to Clare! We did the 2 hour mountain trek with Peter as our guide, he told us lots about the local history along the way as well as recommendations of where to go for food and drink which also did not disappoint. Great value for 2 hours of riding and I felt very comfortable as someone who hadn’t been on a horse in several years. I will definitely be back again!

Once in a lifetime experience! Everyone was SO lovely and easy to deal with. The horses are all absolutely gorgeous and I'm prepared to smuggle my fabulous horse 'Guiness' back home to Australia with me. My dream come true to ride one of the cob horses.
The horses are kept immaculately and obviously so well loved.
Peter is also a fantastic guide. I could have stayed riding all day! He catered for all levels of riders.
Thank you soooooo much!
The views are some that you wouldn't see anywhere else in the world. Highly recommend this team of people and horses 💕

Lovely place to ride and take in the scenery! Trotted along some nice quiet country lanes and had a little bit of a canter up amongst the hills. The staff were friendly and helpful and had no problem adjusting the ride to suit different experience levels. (They also gave some great tips of other local things to do while we were in the area). Thanks for a great ride!
Grace Harrison — Google review
Have you dreamed of riding through a magnificent forest and across a verdant landscape on the back of a beautiful horse with a long, flowing mane? Would you want an experienced, attentive guide who would tell you stories about the land and its history? Would you want to walk, trot, or canter? Do you picture yourself as a beginner, or an experienced rider? Do you ride with a friend, a loved one, or go solo? Whatever your dream is, I expect you'll find that some or all of that dream will be fulfilled here.
This was the best part of our vacation, and if I lived nearby, Mountain View wouldn't be able to get rid of me. Peter (an exceedingly accomplished rider) is an incredible guide and caters his rides to riders of different abilities by having two guides for each ride. Everybody gets what they want and will enjoy themselves, whether it's walking, trotting, or cantering and enjoying the magnificent power of the horse beneath you. The scenery is gorgeous and Peter brings it to life with stories about his family, the land, and the history of the area. I simply cannot recommend Mountain View enough. Go! You will make memories for a lifetime.

Best decision I made this holiday! I wanted to hike the Burren Way but decided to do the Burren Trek (3 hours) with Peter. The horses are beautiful, well trained and Peter and his staff were able to give everyone a trip based on their experience in horse riding. The views were phenomenal and I had so much fun! Thank you 😊
lalawoman — Google review
We had a great time on our 2 hour trekking adventure with Peter! He was hilarious and also quite knowledgeable about the area and it's history, making sure to point out and explain what was around.
The ride was broken up by a few times to trot at a comfortable pace. Peter was attentive about everyone's comfort and kept checking in with us, stopping to adjust stirrups to be sure we were all good to go and also took two pictures for us to remember our adventure by. Would absolutely go out with them again.
The drive out there is on a tight back road but not a lot of traffic and totally worth it. They also had clean restrooms we used before and after. Horses may be better suited for those with some animal or horse experience as they did want to do their own thing at times and my horse Socks certainly did try to test what he could get away with as far as grazing and following too close or not keeping up during trotting but gentle reminders to stay in line and keep up and he didn't ignore me if I stayed firm with my instructions. (Give them an inch and they'll take a mile, much like my dog at home 😅💜) Lived Socks though he was great.

Did a 2 hour ride today and it was incredible. Peter & his staff were so friendly and the land we rode on was flat out gorgeous. Horses were well behaved and well cared for. So happy I chose a great company to check off an item on my bucket list. I’ll be back!

If I could give this tour more that 5 stars I would in a heartbeat.
Hands down one of the best experiences we have ever had… we are not at all horse riders (my daughter 21 had never even been on a horse) Peter made sure she was safe and comfortable along with everyone else on the tour. What a fabulous trek/day. We did the 2 hour tour and thought it would be very long but time flew by and we wished it would never end 🐎🩵

Brought my daughter here last year and she really enjoyed it. Came back again this year and ended up doing the dirt trek myself with my 9 year old daughter having never been on a horse before. Peter is so nice and made sure I was 100% comfortable as a first timer. Highly recommend. Lovely views and the guide was so nice aswell. Will definitely be back

Ballyhoura mountain bike trails offer a great way to get some exercise and see some beautiful scenery. The car park is 5 euro and you can also rent bikes from there. There are marked trails that are easy to follow, making it an ideal place for hikers of all levels of experience. The area also has toilets and a bike shop nearby.
I'm riding there since 2011. There is something new every year. At this stage it is great fun where everyone can find something for themselves. Easy cc or gnarly trails. Recommend

What an experience - Did the 17k (Brown) route and it was a lot of fun and high tempo cycling. Course was really well laid out with some tough uphills followed by very rewarding and challenging downhill trails. The support from the staff was superb and the shower facilities afterwards made it a really comfortable experience. Bring a backpack, water, sunglasses, snacks and a change of clothes!!! Cannot wait to visit again and try the other trails.

Don't go alone. Trails are beautiful and the scenery is amazing. I crashed and needed to go to hospital. The team looking after the rentals didn't want to pick up my bike or myself from the trail and drop me back to the carpark due to insurance. Thankfully I was with friends who drove around and get the bikes back. Neither did they have much medical supplies at their shop. Hopefully this won't be the case for future riders.

Is 5 euros the car park and you must have coins to play it.You can rent a bike and equipment from there. I had my 400 euro bike and I feelt that there is her limit, need good brakes and a bit of skills because you can hit any time a tree or rocks. Is very easy to fallow the marks. And at the end you can wash your bike the for 2 euro coins but the water has low pressure on need a brush.

Bunratty Castle is a 15th-century tower house in the village of Bunratty, Ireland. The castle was restored in 1956 and it now houses exhibitions about medieval and Victorian life. There is also a folk park with recreated cottages, shops, and farmhouses.
Great place to visit with family and friends. The visit kept us all occupied for nearly 4 hrs. Can walk through the restored castle and village and get a feel for what life was like in the 1500's. Good adventure for children and educational for the young and the old. Refreshments and food are available on site to buy and the the Bunratty shop offers lots of momento's for everyone. Many B&B's in the area too.

Best part about this is the folk park of historical village buildings. All were easy access and dressed as the period they are from. The castle is also interesting but very steep narrow staircases to access the rooms so you need reasonable fitness to reach them and the views from the top.
Had lunch in the tea room with visiting chickens (see pic) and highly recommend the fruit cake.

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. You will enjoy a lot of this castle and park. There are plenty of curiosities both in the castle itself and in the park nearby. Go up the narrow stairs of the castle towers, feel the atmosphere of the main hall, and look at the rooms of the different status of the castle residents. And see how farmers, fishermen, blacksmiths, and other people of that time lived. The old houses are still heated by park staff in the same way as in ancient times. The entrance costs 10 euros. Large parking lot. Enjoy!

We went to Bunratty with my parents (a fit 70+) and my kids (8 & 10) and we all had a fantastic time. I couldn't see in any review or information exactly how long to stay or whether it was any good in wet weather, but I'm so pleased we chanced it and didn't try fit it in on the way to the airport. Sure, you could go walk around it fast-paced in an hour, but why would you when you could take your time leisurely enjoying the many little cottages, hidden gems in the fairy Forrest, casual beer or cuppa in one of 3 areas, or let the kids play in the fabulous play park.. We were there a good 5 to 6 hours, and that was really taking our time through the many historic buildings and stopping for lunch. The staff in the blacksmith area and the man with the drum were a highlight as they chatted away about interesting historical topics..often having the crowd chuckling with their cheeky humour. The castle steps are not for the feint hearted, but the view up top was worth it. Stopping in at the ice cream parlour next to the play area is a must! Another favourite was the black pudding sausage rolls (or would it be black pudding rolls!). I took home a bottle of castle-made Meade at €24 and we finished off the lot that night. At the end of it, we all enjoyed it, young and old.

Amazing place but keep in mind if your bus stops for only 20 minutes, you only have time to take pictures of the castle, nothing else! They close and lock the small gates where you enter next to the castle and the only exit is through the Folk Park shop and it is even further away from the bus stop than the entrance. The Toilet is at the far end of the park. This layout caused some headaches for us and our bus driver. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

I highly recommend it! The history of the castle is impressive, very beautiful and interesting. On the territory there is a large park with ancient architecture, which shows how the Irish lived in ancient times. It is best to plan a trip to this location for the whole day.

We arrived early for the Banquet dinner at Bunratty Castle, and they let us in to explore the Christmas Village free of charge. It was so very charming and festive. My partner's parents were visiting from Canada and they adored the experience; they hadn't experienced anything like it in Canada. The Banquet dinner was equally amazing - the hosts were so talented, juggling service and entertainment duties so efficiently. They engaged all the guests and performed so many classic songs very well. Can't wait to go back again.

We had such a great evening at their Festive Lights Walk, they had beautiful lights placed all around the park, the different thatch houses were on display for us to visit and they had lots of Christmas attractions from an igloo with animals, a big Christmas jumper, a merry go round and a fabulous light tunnel.
I would highly recommend their Christmas Festive Lights Walk.

A good day for a visit St. Patrick's Day 2024. As for the castle, mind your steps as the winding steps can be tricky. It's well worth the effort to step carefully. I love the folk park too, like stepping back in time and seeing the old community.

Disappointed in the lack of information to read and learn at each exhibit. A few sentences isn’t enough for most houses and the castle rooms are not explained beyond a sentence or two in the map. I would have preferred more information than less! It’s a nice walk though, pretty houses that have been well maintained. They just need more historic information.

What a fabulous spot for a family day out.

Nice castle and village to visit. The spiral stairs steps are small for grown men with big feet. The staff were very friendly and available to answer questions.

We visited the site of Bunratty Castle on our way to the Cliffs of Moher. Despite not having visited the interior, the exterior is well maintained and it is possible to understand that it is a very well preserved historical site. There are many restaurants and shops in the surrounding area, so it will be a good stopping point to explore.

A good day for a visit St. Patrick's Day 2024. As for the castle, mind your steps as the winding steps can be tricky. It's well worth the effort to step carefully. I love the folk park too, like stepping back in time and seeing the old community.

This was a lovely stop to have just after landing in Shannon Airport... only 10 minutes away.
So much to do and see. Loved it all.
Even had an impromptu performance from singers who were rehearsing for the banquet that evening.

You will need three hours to tour the complete castle grounds. It is huge. The castle is the highlight for sure but the grounds themselves have a ton of buildings, animals, and attractions to keep you entertained but also to teach you something new.
The Burren National Park is a magical and stunning landscape of cliffs, rock formations, and lakes. It's home to many rare plants and animals, including otters, mink, lizards, and ravens. The park was awarded UNESCO Global Geopark status in 2011 because of the international importance of its geological heritage.
Not sure if it was just Google maps taking us on an adventure but we travelled along many narrow farm type roads to get to the Burren national park.
It's unusual to experience a park that consists of rock formations as far as the eye can see.
The rocks were amazing and we wish we had more time to explore a bit longer and do a few hikes.
We still enjoyed this special terrain none the less

This location pinpoint is the starting place for all the well marked trails from the official website. Car parking is the side of the road and free. We did the blue Mullaghmore loop and it took us ~2.5 hours with a stop at the top to eat lunch. It’s a lovely walk, not too difficult but requires you to climb up rocks and not always on a normal path. I would do the same trail again if I was in the area!

I found fossils at the top! If you like that sort of thing, this place is good for finding them. I found my first amonite here.
I don't do the spandex and two sticks sort of hiking. I wear my leather boots, which have good grip but aren't from mountain wearhouse. The 'red route' was easy enough for myself and my partner - neither of us are that sporty and the view from the top was a blessing!
We were lucky with the sunlight and it suited the heat there. The bleak hills became like a desert. There were lovely goats all over the place and strange stones about.

Special place with a landscape that teases the imagination.
It's possible to park closer to the park than the designated parking area on google maps by turning right at the crossroad. There is verge parking available along the road outside the stonewall entrance into the park. You will save yourself some unnessary walking.
Features variety of walks of different lenghts, the longer ones over difficult terran. Those featured on the parks map are very well marked.
Look out for 300 millon year old fossilised choral in the limestone.

Heart of Burren Walks offers an immersive and informative tour experience in County Clare, Ireland. Led by knowledgeable guides like Mary O'Dea and Tony, the tours provide a deep understanding of Irish life, geology, plants, ancient history, ecology, and poetry. The walks are described as engaging, humorous, and friendly while offering a unique perspective on the Burren's landscape.
April 2, 2024 We are an Australian couple with links to Ireland. My family came to Geelong in 1852 from Kilfenora County Clare and we have always been interested in our Irish connections. We did a tour of the Burrren with Mary O’Dea and I would recommend her tour. Mary is a font of knowledge and her informed and interesting commentary about everything from Irish life, geology, plants and ancient history kept us transfixed throughout the tour. The tour was wonderful and a ‘must do’ when visiting County Clare.

If you want to penetrate the mystery and magic of the Burren-- go on Tony Kirby's walk.
Geology, botany, agriculture, poetry, religion--Tony's tour weaves together many threads to bring the Burren into focus.
Don't miss it!

Tony unlocked Ireland for me. In between spurts of actual walking, we talked about glaciation, immigration, the Irish diaspora, Oscar Wilde, the EU, neolithic pastoral practices, geopolitics, deforestation, and whisky. If you ever have the opportunity, I recommend a walk on the Burren with Tony.
Adam Lundstrom — Google review
Tony Kirby shared his extensive knowledge of the Burren with us on a lovely 2 hour guided walk. The pace was perfect even though the group was comprised of walkers of various levels. I would definitely recommend this wonderful experience for people who want a deeper understanding of the Burren.

Though the day was not a sunny one, the experience was tremendous! I'd highly suggest taking a break from the regular tourist traps around Ireland, walk with Tony for a guided, authentic view of the Burren, its nature, and history.
Annette Siegel — Google review
This short hike was packed with sights, facts, and fascination! So many encounters with a landscape are horizontal affairs, and the appreciation and engagement goes left to right, forward and backward.
Tony's awareness and insights, delivered with humor and a sense of custody, make one sense an appreciation of the vertical. I grew conscious of the Burren as a deep history below my feet that informed the flora and fauna on its surface and conducted a relationship to the open sky above. Highly recommended!
Mark Gleason — Google review
Tony's stories and knowledge about the Burren can't be beaten. Gives you what you need to appreciate this astounding landscape. Some poems too to entertain you along the way!

Quin Friary is a charming Franciscan ruin in County Clare, Ireland. It is a favored spot for visitors due to its peaceful atmosphere and well-preserved architecture. Despite being usually uncrowded, the abbey's ruins are wonderful to explore and you can easily read the gravestones. The site has several rooms to discover and there are informative plaques about its history on display. Adjacent to it, other ruins are within walking distance too.
One of favorite spots, especially for photos, whenever I visit the area

I stop here every time I go to Ireland. It's a favorite place - never crowded, in fact, we're usually alone. The ruins are in remarkably good shape, and you can even still read the gravestones easily. You can wander all over this place; go inside (most of it) and look in the rooms, and there are several to explore. There are some plaques there to tell you about the history of the Abbey. It's peaceful, and gorgeous, no matter the time of day or weather. When you're done, go across the street to the Abbey Tavern to have a pint!

Never know this existed until recently and I grew up only 20 minutes away from it. Really impressed with the size and condition of the friary. Had a great 2 hour ride out through the gateway to Connemara. Roger is a great guide. He imparts so much knowledge about the area and its history in
addition to knowing a lot about Irish horse breeds. I learned so much and was interested the entire time. A mix of walking/trotting on roads and climbing up and down the Rocky hills. My good mount, Jim, was of sound mind and body. He took great care of me. I do have riding experience, but I didn't need any with Jim. It was nice to learn a bit about the bloodlines of Roger's horses and meet a few of them as well. Seeing the Jack Russell puppies and other dogs was a welcomed sight too. Great experience. Most importantly the horses are obviously well cared for with good weight on them and well kept hooves. You won't be packing around on some over-used and neglected soul. I highly recommend seeing Roger for a trek in the beautiful Connemara area.

The Lough Gur Visitor Centre is a museum that tells the story of flint and bronze material, their manufacture and use as well as their eventual deposition in the area. It also has displays on Stone Age pottery and other artefacts related to the lifestyles of the area's first inhabitants. There are two annual festivals held here, which offer visitors an opportunity to explore the landscape and ruins nearby.
Very peaceful place. Very suitable for children. Paths suitable for push chairs by lakeside. Playground near visitor's centre. 3 decent car parks. A coffee kiosk which takes cards is located near the car park. A very steep climb to the Visitor's Centre.

Quaint little spot. Picturesque, quiet, peaceful, beautiful. Built right into the hill. There’s a little playground and lots of benches and picnic tables around if you can find a decent warm day when the seats aren’t wet. This backs right up to a farm and there were cows walking right along the fence. The visitor center also has a small museum in it, but it wasn’t open when we stopped by. The lough alone is worth the visit, but altogether a nice little spot to check out if in the area.

Our student’s group had a great trip to Lough Gur on Monday. We listened an interesting talk about this place’s history from Stone Age to modern times at Lough Gur Visitor Center. After with tour guide Brian we had short walk around area. It was gorgeous! It’s a one of the most beautiful places Ireland! There is a lake, hills, small forest, castle’s ruins. Finally, we visited Great Stone Circle, which was built several thousand years ago. I’m really grateful to Kate and Brian for this amazing day! My classmates and I had a great time and have taken a lot of pictures.

King John's Castle is an imposing Norman castle that dates back to the 1300s. It was renovated in 2013 and now features period costumes, visitor center, and interactive exhibits. The castle is located on the Kings Island in Limerick, Ireland.
This is one of my favorite castles to tour. It's a legit castle, complete with "murder holes" around the perimeter and all the tremendous history to go along with the heavy exterior... whilst being right there in the middle of this sweet town of Limerick! The view from the top is stellar; don't miss it! I've visited the castle several times. The first was for myself! I was curious about it and was so surprised to find such a well-organized museum inside! I've returned several times to take others who had never toured the castle and will likely go again for the same reason! But I enjoy it so much, so I don't mind at all. If they offered a season pass, I'd likely get one!
Most recently, I attended a Van Morrison concert at King John's Castle and was just amazed at the intimacy of this venue and the majesty of the space! It was a dreamy experience!

Excellent place to spend a sunny day, beautiful views from the tower, lots of interesting history and interactive exhibits inside the different areas of the castle. You could easily wander for a few hours especially with 6-12 year old children. The inside of the museum has some fun and educational exhibits like a cannon ball that you can hold to see how heavy it is and a model of the battle that was fought here. Outside you can walk into several different areas but the best parts are climbing up the stair wells to see the views.

King John's Castle is an ancient massive structure, a fortress with a very rich history, built in Limerick on the banks of the river. After the halls with interactive history stands, you go out into the courtyard of the fortress. There you will find the most interesting things for children - many games and entertainment. There you can see the towers, climb up, admire the beautiful scenery and the rapid river with rapids. The fortress has its own free parking lot for visitors about 200 meters from the fortress

I was pleasantly surprised, the upkeep and care of every step of the way is lovely. You start your journey stepping back in time reading and interacting with the written history, which leads you underground to the foundations and ruins hidden under the castle, which then leads you to the court yard full of medieval games, music and you can explore the castle which is reconstructed well.
Tilly's World — Google review
Well worth a visit. The history of Limerick and the castle is told in a very detailed and interactive way. If you’re not willing to read your way through a museum, several videos show you a good summary of all mayor events in the history of Limerick. A few items do require some maintenance (several lights were not working, multiple screens in the castle itself were not working). You can climb the castle tower and get a beautiful view of the city.

What a great museum and castle! We’ve been to a few castle tours here in Ireland and this one has to be one of the best. The museum portion is very informative for those of us who might not know the local history and does a great job explaining the importance of the castle. We were able to walk up one of the towers which was quite exciting! The tour section that takes you underneath the castle walls is also fascinating. I’ve never seen something like this at a castle and it put into perspective a lot of what was talked about during the museum portion about the siege! Overall wonderful castle!

Firstly, in my opinion please visit the place only if you want to absorb the beautiful landscape of Limerick along the Shannon River as viewed atop the castle towers. Thats wonderful scenic views. 5 stars for it.
Rest of the museum brings down the rating for the improper lighting and the way things are being depicted. No person is found directing anyone or showing the way. Tourists are free to go any which way they like and then realise they need to go back as they missed something. Once you are in the center courtyard of castle, poor directions allow you to wander in which any direction. I will not be surprised if some tourist missed on some sections of the castle just because there are no proper sign boards.
The technology has been used but only to be non-functional most of the places.
There is a cafe at entry-cum-exit and of course a souvenir shop, Which are good.

Visited on a Wednesday afternoon, purchased 2x €13 Adult Tickets and entered right away (no line).
We did enjoy the history exhibits, but a lot of the exhibits were closed or non-working. They also had a lot of major construction going on internally, so these aspects made the ticket prices not quite worth it for us. Didn't feel we got the true value.
Views from the castle tops were lovely.

If you like history facts and detailed explanations of day-by-day happenings of a castle, this is for you. With excellent history timeline and very well done dioramas, it made me plunge into the history of the place. I took my time soaking everything, and once the open yard of the castle, I was overwhelmed. Worth it.

It's a fantastic castle and museum. So much history and information to take it. The grounds are spectacular and beautiful views from the top. Definitely worth a visit

We visited on Sunday where it was very quiet. This castle and museum was incredible. I say that because I’m the earlier part of the museum they fully educated you on the history and timeline of events. When you made it through to the castle portion you were fully immersed and could picture what it may have been like there back then. They gave visitors a lot of access that was safe and self-paced, making it great to go at your desired pace. There are a lot of castles to see. This one is a standout in my book.

Did not ger inside due to a lack of time. But went around the castle and into the castle garden, very impressive building. The state of the castle is just amazing, almost unharmed.

Really nice castle with included museum.
Parking lot is across the street and has many free spaces.
We booked our tickets in advance online but it wasn’t necessary on a weekday.
The exhibition was nice and had different interactive parts. We really liked the “people” in screen who told you about their life’s back in the days.
After the exhibition you could go through a walk through path where you could see the old stone walls of the castle. Then you could also climb on top and had a really nice view.
You could end your visit with a walk through the shop or get some food & drinks at the cafe.

Located at the heart of Limerick’s medieval quarter and building work for King John's Castle began in 1212 by Viking settles Who intermarried with the local irish. The Castle is more than 800 years old.
I paid to enter 12 euros, it's ok for the view.

Truly a great stop. We went mid-November around 12 PM and had almost the whole place to ourselves. Price is good for what you get. Soooo much history to take in. You can set your own pace, choosing for it to take an hour or three. They have lots of activities for kids. Glad we stopped here!

The Aughnanure Castle is a large, 16th-century fortress that can be explored inside and out. It features gargantuan fireplaces and a watchtower that you can climb. The castle was originally built by the OFlaherty family, who were a prominent lord family in the region. Over the centuries, it has changed hands on several occasions before being reclaimed by the OFlaherty family.
Our family loved visiting Aughnanure Castle for its beauty, friendly staff and peaceful location. A perfect memory was made when we came across two very talented musicians, who brought in a harp and guitar, playing in the tower. We were treated to a concert of beautiful and well-suited music. The acoustics were simply perfect. What a treat! A bit off the beaten path and beautiful. We hope to return!

Only one other couple there so it’s always nice when the place isn’t overrun by tourists. Cool castle, but what’s left is pretty small. The room inside has a couple of neat things to look at. Overall, I would recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

Very reasonable entry fee. Steep and narrow steps to get all the way to the top floor of the castle. I got a bit dizzy coming down them. Interesting information about how the wealthy lived there.
Lona Fox — Google review
Admission was free today and the place was open. Its was raining lightly so made the place more mysterious. The Car park is free at the entrance. Just park and follow the sign into the gate on your right. Keep walking on the narrow road, past the grazing horses to your right and the castle is visible on your left. You will pass a pond-like lake initially opening into a moat like area next to the castle. Lovely place for a stroll. The grounds inside are vast and has a raw kind of beauty. There is a leaflet and information for self-guided tour. Just imagine the place on a sunny day.

Very much worth the trip! Entrance fee was $5 per adult, and the information throughout was really interesting and informative. Very narrow staircase to the top of the tower but that is optional-the whole area gives perspective on the daily lives of this clan. Recommend to go early as it's a popular place.

I might be a little biased as this is part of my family's heritage, but I loved the amount of information they had on the castle. I learned so much that I never knew and can't wait to share it with the rest of my family.

Very informative self tour. The welcoming gents manning the entrance were very open to questions and it was obvious they love their jobs as we discussed the castle with them. Not busy at all, off the main road a bit this was an impulse visit based on seeing the sign for it and we are so glad we did!
Brian Roth — Google review
The staff were incredibly knowledgeable! Giles gave us more information than an entire history course and made it incredibly interesting. Could have stayed for hours and listened to the history of the place and the surrounding countryside. The structure is well preserved and they allow you to actually go into the main tower. Not on the roof, however, as it's too dangerous.
Tristan Greenlaw — Google review
Small but with a lot of information. You're able to go up the tower and see the rooms and all the little secret spots. You learn about the history of the tower as well as who has lived there in a lot more detail than I expected. Please remember not to climb the walls. There are signs all around saying that, but people still seem to have a hard time obeying them. The views are gorgeous and there's a river that runs right by the castle which makes the places very tranquil.

Very interesting castle and some ruins. What made the experience outstanding was the voiceover from the tour guide and the exceptional passion of the docents we talked with after the tour. The guides were well-steeped in the history of the castle and explained minute details to us. Really great.

One of the best castles I've ever been in. Great to be able to get inside the structure and see all the different rooms. Would love to have got out on the roof but the very knowledgeable guide informed us it had to be closed because of regular "jumpers". Very good visit and not expensive on a family ticket. Really enjoyed it and the guide even directed us to a tree on the way in that was over a thousand years old.
Salthill Promenade is a beautiful place to take a stroll and enjoy the gorgeous Irish coastline in the summer months. In addition to its stunning views, the promenade features many historic bars, little trinket shops, and yummy ice cream spots.

My visit to the Prom was on a cold, wet & windy day but still managed to get out and walk for a while before the rain got too heavy. It was great to be able to see the islands from the shoreline. Even though the weather wasn't great, the people I met were nice & friendly and more than happy to stop & point you in the right direction or just give a suggestion on where to visit next. I hope to visit again on a better day when I have more time to investigate.

Quay St is a lively waterfront pedestrian street in Galway, Ireland, known for its colorful pubs and restaurants offering ceilidh events. It's a sociable hub for shopping, dining, and nightlife with a vibrant atmosphere and delightful people-watching opportunities. The street is filled with historic buildings, artisan boutiques, and bustling pubs where you can soak up the local culture. Additionally, it's home to XiAn Street Food which brings traditional Chinese cuisine to the heart of Galway City.

The heart of Galway is Quay Street, pumping out a rich blend of ambience, music, food, history, people, and more.
This street is one of many that stretch south from Eyre Square toward the Corrib.
When here you must take a stroll and admire the beautiful historic buildings, window-shop at one of many artisan boutiques, and people-watch from a café or restaurant.
Please, don’t miss a stop at one of the pubs along the way. This street is known for having some of the best nightlife in Galway because of its welcoming atmosphere.

The Galway Cathedral is a renaissance-style Catholic cathedral that was completed in 1965. The architecture has Romanesque influences, Gothic influences, and Renaissance influences. It is located in the old city of Galway.
I visited the Cathedral on a cold & blustery day whilst waiting for my mum who was up visiting in UHG. When I walked in the door I was surprised by the space and dark walls but also the light that came through the stained glass windows and the silence even though there were alot of people walking around. Although the pews were marked out for social distance there was no problem moving in & out of them. As I had a good bit of time I just sauntered around with trying to take everything in. I met a lovely person who very kindly offered me a Miraculous Medal for my ill relative and also included him in their prayers later that day. Whilst I spent at least an hour looking at all the decorative mosaics, various stained glass windows that had been donated through the years, the model of the Cathedral, organ and various displays dotted around the i side I didn't feel rushed and probably have spent more time. It cost 1.50e to park for the hour and had no problem finding a spot but there is another carkpark accross the road where you can park all day for 6.50e

Absolutely beautiful cathedral. Came in whilst visiting the Galway area and I was absolutely blown away by the stained glass windows and enormous statues inside.
There is a ton of seating the front, sides and rear of the main alter and I’d love to visit again for mass.
The shop sells amazing items including beautiful marble rosaries and religious items for all occasions.
Definitely stop in if you’re passing by!

This is a holy place - while roaming on the streets of Galway, we came across this place and decided to explore. This holy place is a very huge worship place, it was amazingly calm and full of positive vibrations … we sat there for an hour without saying a single word and we felt like we were recharged - rejuvenated….!! There is a shop within the cathedral where all the holy books and souvenirs of Christianity are available to purchase. There is a paid lavatory too in the cathedral. It has the huge parking lot too.

Beautiful cathedral with gorgeous stained glass windows, domes, arches and architecural accents. There are several different intimate areas to pray and the mosiacs are remarkable. Their gift shop has wonderful locally made Celtic crafts and religious items. A special thanks to Mary in the gift shop who was incredibly patient as we asked many questions and she helped us find the most perfect nativity scene and to Monsignor Rabbitte who blessed our nativity scene, which will become a family heirloom. The Cathedral is a must visit while you are visiting Galway! You can truly feel the presence of God. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

I'm not a Christian by any means but I do appreciate the serenity of a location and this has it. We visited St Mary's in Dingle and that serenity was lacking. The building was more modern than expected but the colours in the dome and from the stained glass were sublime. Sometimes I envy people their faith and get the fact that buildings like this can reinforce it.
I won't be converted to religion any time soon but I think we'd be worse off without places like this where you can come and reflect regardless of your spiritual leanings.

Famous cathedral situated in the heart of Galway. When you see the details, it really makes you want to sit there and pray. It is one of Irelands tourist spots, and it's good that everyone can see and get amazed by the beauty of the church, but see it and respect it as a Church, not as an art museum.

Check the website for Mass times. What a stunning structure; inside and out! The lighting, the windows, the wood panel ceiling, the center dome above the four-sided altar! The side rooms for prayer and reflection! Just beautiful. I wish I’d been here for an Easter or Christmas Mass… I’ll bet it’s gorgeous! The choir was angelic. As an American I found the portrait of JFK a tad out of place… but, hey! when in Rome, right? Just fascinating. I could have spent hours admiring the Stations of the Cross, the detail, the ornate architecture… the building is newer than I thought (circa 1965 I believe)…but the architecture style had me believing it was much older.

We didn't plan to take the boat ride that they offer until the very last minute. They were really kind enough to accommodate us at the very end even though they were fully booked. Good stuff.
Would recommend the boat ride if you have an hour to spare while in Clare.

Had a fantastic cruise with our family. The boat was immaculate, comfy, and had great views from the top deck. Great fun for all ages and the crew were super friendly!
The commentary was really interesting and the crew were also full of local knowledge.
They even let our children have a go at steering the ship!!
Would highly recommend this river cruise company to anyone visiting Killaloe.

Went on a Sunday. Enjoyed delicious burgers at the farmers market before boarding. The river cruise was perfect. Got the balance between informative and entertaining just right. The playlist and on board refreshments were on point. The staff however were in a league of their own. Helpful and friendly and fun, offering the little ones photo opportunities and even a chance to captain the boat. Ahoy matey 👌 definitely recommend.

Spectacular trip! The overall hour of the trip was really scenic and informative. Charlie and James were very professional. Informative guide & wonderful hospitality.
The Boat was big enough to fit 40-45 Pax and was spotless clean. The In-house bar was well stocked with a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Irish coffee is must must-try. Will definitely recommend it for mesmerizing experience. Book in advance.
I'll visit again next year.

Killaloe River Cruise is a very friendly boat with fantastic staff. Its running with half the capacity so please make sure yiu book.in advance. Has a mini bar on boat. Very clean washroom. The boat takes thru stunning view of Lough Derg. The killaloe Village its beautiful. Make sure you are atleast 30mins earlier to boat trip as the traffic on Bridge is outrageous and parking is hard 😊

Great experience. Lasts approx 1 hour. Friendly staff. Boat was immaculately clean. Bar available with hot drinks, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks.
Initially sat on open top deck but there was a brief heavy rain shower a few mins into the trip. Everyone went downstairs and indoors to stay dry. Plenty of space and still great views through glass windows. When rain stopped, staff quickly dried off all seats on the open top deck again so we could sit back up there for the rest of the trip.
Would highly recommend.

Great trip on the river Shannon up along Lough Derg from Killaloe. Interesting narration of the history of the area. Also, pretty good bar on board. We could also bring our small dog which was a plus.

Nice river/lake enjoyable cruise of an hour , about 50 people on board, lot of good views of along the coast and all green scenery, all drinks served especially Irish coffee.
Tranquil, picturesque, pristine walkway. Excellently maintained and pet friendly. We love to feed the ducks and geese here, there is a real feeling of being at one with nature. A real jewel in Claremorris town

Fantastic park, well kept with no litter. Geese, ducks and other animals around the lake, some lovely little piers and a decent walking route long or short depending on what you're looking for. Peaceful and quiet despite being right in a nice sized town. Fantastic place for a weekend walk/jog.

I had wanted to explore this Park on a prior trip but ran out of time, so this time I was determined. The entrance is near a kids playground and there is adequate parking. Entrance and use are free. There are informative signs near the entrance regarding the trees and wildlife of the park. The path ways are well sign posted and the lake is directly in view, behind a small pavilion. Once I entered the walking path I quickly developed a sense of detachment from the noise and traffic outside the park, an impression which deepened as I progressed further.
There are amusing miniatures of houses for the little people in the early section. This is followed by samples from the Land of the Giants further in. These figures add amusement and interest to the walk. KM markers give one a sense of progress and maps are placeed at critical junctions. There are multiple wooden bridges to help cross over streams. The sound of your own footsteps on the path surface made me think of life 100 + years ago when such walks would have been the primary method to get from one village to another. The trees and flora and fauna are more natural than in a more disciplined City Park and are all the better for it.
On my return route I noticed men fishing and a pair of swans gliding through the water. The whole experience was good for both mind and body. As I neared the exit I was mentally scheduling my next walk. The paths were not crowded and one has plenty of time for reflection.

It used to be an amazing place to walk for children and adults but over the years half of the 'giant' features have rotted or been vandalised, and removed. It's a shame.
Still a nice walk with a good path around the lough and a good children's playground next to the car park. Hopefully they'll do it up a bit and replace the giant attractions.

Highly recommend this loop walk,
Ther is so much too see on this walk from swans to giant wellies it's a walk for all ages, plenty of parking and a playground, we walked it on a Saturday morning during a park run and the runners were so friendly 😀

Beautiful spot to go. The park is really nice and is almost pristine with the exception of a odd little bit of litter left by some idiots. There is a large array of plants and wildlife around the park, including lots of ducks and geese. The park is also wheelchair accessible. The entrance gates to the park are closed at 8pm.
Aidan McLoughlin — Google review
Was amazed how tidy and clean this little gem is just in off the main road. Wheelchair friendly and a huge greeting from the ducks that roam free which is lovely to see. Very safe for kids where the lake is well fenced off. Nice little treck for all the family.
John Hurley — Google review
Great park for a lovely walk in a well maintained pathway. In the center we can see a lake and they allows fishing for those who have permission. Ducks are the another attraction of this place. The park offers a good walking or running experience.
Sarun BR — Google review
It's not what it used to be. Coffee stand not placed near entrance gate instead of it it's at very focal point in the park, which does not contribute to the scenery in any way.

Nice walk, there is no chair anymore. this is the only place to walk in the whole city.
If you're travelling with the family this summer, Turoe Pet Farm is a great place to spend a day. There's plenty to do on the farm, including an outdoor nature trail and playground, as well as Pets Corner where you can cuddle rabbits and play with dogs. The farm also has its own football pitch and picnic areas.
Nice farm with clean paddocks and a walk right around which is gravel all the way. We arrived while the heavens opened and the rain lashed with an umbrella - and did not get dirty walking.
You get a small bag of food on entry for feeding the animals which made for some really excited kids and the animals are clearly accustomed to visitors and only to happy to be feed
Once the farm area is done there are some amazing play areas which you have a maximum of 3 hours to enjoy using a colour band system. These are really well kept. Absolutely Hugh filling the respective barns and with a lot of young staff keeping a very close watch on the children at play. Top marks
Finally they have a large catering area for food to enjoy before departing.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a nice 1/2 day

Good fun for kids of all ages. Animals look well cared for. The whole farm looks relatively well maintained. It takes some time to cover the entire farm on foot. It has a good collection of animals. Could have had a dedicated member of staff near the rabbits and hens, so kids could enjoy petting them in an orderly manner. Large outdoor play area for kids and adults to enjoy. The large bouncy castle/world was really good. Choice of food could be better, considering the crowd. Nevertheless a fun day out for kids and family.

Fantastic experience. I cannot praise this place enough. The inflatable indoor area is massive and of the very highest quality and layout. They also have a lovely soft play are just a few meters away. Food and drink options were excellent. There seemed to me to be at least three playgrounds with very modern equipment. The newest of the three playgrounds is probably the highest quality and most innovative playground I have ever seen. Plus, as you'd expect, there are lots of beautiful animals. Plenty of parking and friendly helpful staff everywhere. This place clearly spends serious money on equipment and staff, that is very obvious and it all adds up to an amazing family experience. I cannot recommend Turoe Pet Farm enough. A+

Neat and tidy is highlight. Animals in numbers are less but i thinks its enough to enjoy. Felt relaxed after the walk. Kids will enjoy and make friends with others. Can use playgrounds, football court bounce etc. At the bouncee more security has to be made because I could see a couple of ladies were using the bouncee and the guy was helpless in stopping them. Lots of parking available.

Absolutely brilliant place. We travelled up from laois so a bit of a spin but it was worth it. Such a lovely welcome when you arrive + We got 2 bags of animal feed and went on our way. Plenty of huts around the hawthorn walk for you to shelter in from rain or as we had today glorious sunshine. Busy but plenty of room for social distancing, sanitizing stations everywhere. The staff in the jungle zone and in the inflatable city were absolutely brilliant and kept a very close eye on all children so no one was getting injured. Great job well done. The food was fab and not expensive at all. We could have easily spent another hour or 2 there with the amount of playgrounds and astro pitch but our little man was already exhausted from the fun he had. Turoe farm is spotless inside and out. We will definately be returning. Thank you for a lovely day out.

Another day in Turned Farm and it was great. This is a great outdoors/indoors attraction. There are quite a few species of animals. They are very friendly and let you touch and feed them. Staff are friendly and very professional. The inflatable city is definitely the place where most children are interested. Really cool and entertaining place. Will definitely recommend and come back. It's a shame I didn't take more photos of the place.

Really enjoyed the petting farm. Lovely helpful staff, very friendly. Baby and toddler area in bouncy city was not supervised by staff and older kids kept coming in, putting my 9mth old at risk. Outside of that, place was amazing. Older kids loved the bouncy city. Spent 2hrs in there. We will definitely be back!

Great place for family to bring back a more wholesome entertainment experience. You can spend the whole day there in either rain or shine thanks to the addition of covered in play areas as well as the huge bouncy castle shed which has to be seen to be believed. There are two food option , the restaurant which serves very affordable and tasty food or the cafe which has sweets and cakes homemade and delicious. If you like you can also bring your own food and enjoy it on the many picnic tables located all around or in the restaurant area its self. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food quality and taste was very good although basic. We have been many times over the years and will continue to go as it is just a fantastic wholesome family day out with no electronics to be seen and tired happy kids at the end of the day.

Fantastic place for the family! Kids 3,6,8 had a great time (as well as the adults!) staff are very friendly, great with the kids helping them to hold the rabbit etc and explaining in kid friendly terms about the animals. Huge amount of play activities! Large indoor soft play with large outdoor swings/zip line etc. A great evening spent here with the kids asking for the next visit! Thanks ☺️

We had a fabulous day at the farm today! Kids absolutely loved it, loads for them to do. The indoor soft play area is huge! Loads of friendly animals that the kids could feed and interact with. A huge array of outdoor toys and playgrounds aswell, just a really fun packed day. The staff are lovely and friendly. Food was only OK but its not overpriced either so it does the job. Just had the best birthday for my daughter here! The staff was kind, and caring and compassionate, with wonderful customer service for a party of 17 kids! The facility was clean! The rates were well worth the experience! The food was delicious and the farm animals were amazing! With inside soft play and outside playgrounds, slides, go carts and sand play rooms for rainy dismal days..... Overall, I'd give them 10 stars! I highly recommend this beautiful slice for your child's big day! We will definitely be going back! Thank you for helping my little girl have such an amazing birthday! 💜
Kind regards

We were here today, as we have been before, hoping that things had improved for the animals. First of all, staff are lovely. Really friendly and helpful. Food is good and play centre indoors is great.
Now outside is a different story...
There are two lovely kittens there at present...and not in a great state I am sorry to say. One gorgeous little one had a very bad coat and seemed to have ear mites plus a pretty bad eye infection. Also it had a broken tail that seemed to have set in an unusual way. Anyway I mentioned this to the owner who said the kitten was on treatment so I said I would check in again in a week. The other beautiful kitten was sleeping for our full visit..on a bed of straw and rabbit poop.
The peacock area is full of weeds and nettles and goats are inside that I feel should be outside this time of year.
My girls were pretty upset leaving but we will pop back in again to give benefit of the doubt.

I have lived in Ballyhaunis in the last 8yrs and I used to think there was nothing we could do around here asides walk in the park. It's my first time visiting this farm and it is such a lovely place.
Also a brilliant space to host birthday party for kids.
My kids loved it and have asked to go back again.
The staff are also pleasant.

A big Surprise I’m happy to say. I looked at Graune pet farm’s web site and wasn’t looking forward to the visit that my wife promised our 6 year old going by the web page photos. It’s a bit out of the way but worth the journey. It has large parking areas and easy access for those with strollers or wheelchair’s. It was €8 for each adult and €12 for the child but family rates are available. From the get go we got greeted by an adorable puppy in a stable with rabbits and kittens. A walk around the farm and your surrounded by hundreds of chicken loads of goats, lamas, emu and many other farmyard friends. All the animals seemed in good health and happy and their living areas looked clean and tidy all with food and water. The kids have lovely play areas outside including tyre swings and zip lines. Inside the indoor play soft play area is huge and has pool tables and air hockey to kill some time while your little one is on an adventure. It also has a large restaurant area although we didn’t eat here it looked and smelled lovely. It a lovely well run place clean and tidy with friendly staff. The little extras like “walking on water” only cost €3 and was well worth it.
At first I was only going to give it four stars but thinking about it I don’t see how they could make it better for what you pay and I would highly recommend a visit. We spent 3 hours here and enjoyed every minute.

Loved the outdoor animals, I enjoyed the big white rooster, big personality - he was a hoot - great outdoor space for kids, good paths to walk along, wee indoor visit from a black & white friendly kitten was a delight for my little one, the soft play area is great, although - I found it hard to visually keep track when little ones climb up inside the area to the rear.
Unfortunately didn't get to stop for a bite as we had to go further afield and time caught up on us

The destination of choice for every child's birthday party in the region. They know how to do things right and you get what you pay for. No problem. If you have toddlers. Get used to it. You'll be here a lot.
