How long is the drive from Kristiansand to Wroclaw?
The direct drive from Kristiansand to Wroclaw is 812 mi (1,306 km), and should have a drive time of 12 hrs 36 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Kristiansand to Wroclaw, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, Aarhus, Lubeck, Potsdam, Odense, Rostock, Skagen, and Esbjerg, as well as top places to visit like The North Sea Oceanarium and Men by the Sea, or the ever-popular Fårup Sommerland (Jammerbugt Kommune).

Grenen is a thin finger of sand at the northernmost point of Denmark, where two seas converge - the Kattegat and Skagerrak. The area serves as a habitat for dolphins and seals. Although it's possible to stand with one foot in each sea, swimming is prohibited due to strong tidal currents. Grenen also holds historical significance as there are remnants from World War II present.
The end of Continental Europe. Where the Baltic Sea meets the North Sea. Here you can find some relics from the World War 2.
And if you are too tired to return, take the Shuttle Service. 10 Euro for 3 adults and 3 Kids. A fair price.

Baltic Sea on one side, North Sea on the other. How cool is that? Beware of the paid parking. It tales approx. 15-20 minutes to get to the tip of the shore, which is usually pretty crowded. There are also a couple of bunkers on the way. Highly recommended.
Etkin Getir — Google review
Grenen is Denmark's northernmost point and a unique natural phenomenon, it is where the two seas Skagerak and Kattegat meet, and the waves culminate with each other.
Also a restingplace for som seals

Amazing view of the North Sea and Baltic Sea meeting. Caution: if you have any kind of knee/feet/leg problems: it can be very difficult to walk alone since the sand is shifting and moving especially if it is very windy: take the sandormen train and have someone on your side to hold on to

Absolutely stunning place!! North tip of Denamrk where two seas - Skaggerak (North sea) and kattegat sea meet. It’s a good 15 10 mins from the parking area to get to the tip. We got to see a seal basking in the sun.

It was an amazing experience and quite memorable. I visited twice in two days both in the sunlight and rain. I really enjoyed by walking for one hour from the hotel to reach here and got the opportunity to explore the nature and landscape. Stunning view of grenen where the two seas meet each other.

Loved this place! How often do you get to stand in 2 seas (Baltic and Northern sea) in one go!! Fascinating. Additional bonus - there are afew WWII bunkers that you can see up close too. It’s a beautiful place - a must do!
Hafsa Ismail — Google review
Beautiful clean beach which is great for a walk and look at some sea creatures like jelly fish and star fish. Apart from that, not much to do here since you are prohibited from bathing due to currents and it's too windy and cold to just lie and enjoy the sun.
NOTE: There is no public transport to get here from skagen train station, so you will either have to walk, rent a cycle or take a very expensive taxi.
Bhavishya Goel — Google review
Stunning view where North Sea and Baltic Sea (Kattegat) meets- the northern tip of Denmark . On a clear day you could distinguish between the two different see with different colour of water- once in a lifetime experience! If you are lucky, you can also spot seals are laying around the sands. In this shallow reef, many bunkers (made by Germany during WW2) are in sight. There’s also bunker museum nearby. The walk to the tip where the two seas meet from the parking lot, is about 40 minutes hard walk in moving sand and strong wind. There’s a bus available : sandormen for elderly people/people with knee/leg problems.

I loved it, a unique and magical place, unfurtunately i have not seen seals, the best season is in summer
Hubert Jan Kalamajski — Google review
Amazing views! 100% recommended as a life experience you'll never forget.
There are hotels and restaurants in skagen, and a bus called sandormen, that can give you a lift over to the beach and back to the bus station, for about 35 kr. each person.

(Translated by Google) Have been there many many many times and each time it has been an extremely amazing experience. The many amusements in the park keep an active all day, and if you have a hotel room at their hotel, you can also expect a great experience. The food at the hotel is fantastic and the food in the park is also good. The water park is super fun and is perfect to cool off in, in the summer heat. Would definitely recommend Fårup summerland as your go-too park in Jutland.

(Translated by Google) With a 'neighbour' which in some cases is only an extra hour's drive away, Djurs Sommerland, this may have to be considered if you are an adult playboy, because the number of attractions for adults is limited.
Price level is on par with other Parkers = too high = everyone is carrying a hunchback with cooler bag etc.
Small appeal - find the reasonable prices because we guests don't actually want to drag the fridge from home (the ones we know) and then we'll probably have to buy a delicious salad/sandwich or similar.
Then there is just one website that didn't work on the day we were supposed to use it to buy tickets with a discount, but it might just be bad luck - but hardly the day before this function didn't work either.
(Original)

The North Sea Oceanarium is an impressive museum showcasing marine life in North Sea habitats. Visitors can observe seals in an outdoor basin and explore a touch pool. The museum offers numerous informative information boards with creative designs, making for a thoughtful and modern experience. Interactive learning games are also available, especially enjoyable for children. Although sunfish are currently not on display, the mantaray and starfish interactive experience is priceless. Additionally, visitors can walk through a tropical forest trail.

This was a great trip for how little the tickets cost - the giant Sun Fish were a highlight, and the feeding that occurs in the tank with a scuba diver was great!

Wonderful aquarium for young and old with so much information on the oceanic life under water. Inside and outside fun! Everything is well thought through and a great concept. A lot to see and experience. Visit all floors and enjoy the feeding times. Entrance fee for adults is absolutely justified and fine with DKK 195. Coffee at coffee station is 25 DKK and tastes great. Nice aquarium shop as well to get some gifts.

Really great aquarium. Especially the fact that it focuses on the region and gas a lot of different bassains all with different themes. All the fish look healthy, the place is properly clean and everything looks really taken care of. Several fish tanks have several stories to watch the fish from different angles. Equipped with a cafe and Picknick arrears it's suited for different types of visits. A lot of child suited exhibits are available. Staff is amazing and is able to speak at least danish, English and German.

This place is a good day out, especially when you got kids. Lots of interactive games and features for them. Unfortunately the day i went it was rather busy due to Danish holidays, and it got a bit warm inside.
The indoor area features a lot of sealife. Plenty of places to sit down and have some food. The outdoor area mainly features the seals enclosure and some eating areas, as well as a playground for children. The seals get fed twice a day which you can watch if wanted.
Entry fee is slightly on the higher side on my opinion but worth it if you visit everything/shows etc.

The Men by the Sea sculpture in Esbjerg, Denmark is an impressive landmark and popular tourist attraction. Standing 30 feet tall, it features four stylized human figures staring out to sea. Created by Danish sculptor Svend Wiig Hansen to commemorate the city's centennial in 1995, it provides a striking backdrop for photos against the clean beach and beautiful sunsets.
We loved it so much we came back a second time. These giant statues are very peaceful and along a beautiful piece of shoreline. There is a nice walking path to stroll along the ocean and you can sit at the statues and just watch the ocean.

Very pretty! It smells like fish but what do you expect? That’s normal. They should change the description though. “The kids can play in between the legs of the statues” sounds a bit strange…
Rowen Dekkers — Google review
The figures are nice but not as impressive as the place. There’s a parking spot, the view of the sea and the harbor. The wind and the shore to see. If you’re here in the summer bring something to eat and/or drink and enjoy the views!

"Visitors arriving in Esbjerg from the sea are greeted by Svend Wiig Hansen’s monumental sculpture "Man meets the Sea", which was raised on the occasion of Esbjerg celebrating its 100th anniversary as an independent municipality in 1994. It was officially unveiled on 28 October 1995.
The sculpture, made of white concrete, portrays the meeting between pure, unspoilt mankind and nature. Man, innocent as from his mother’s womb. Man before rising up and beginning to act. That, according to Wiig Hansen, was where things started to go wrong - when man got"dirt" on his hands. Wiig Hansen has portrayed this encounter by creating a universal sculpture that has the mood of a temple, of an acropolis - a sculpture with a sacred aura to it. This sacred aura is attained by the rigid appearance of the human figures, something which reminds the onlooker of the Memnon columns or Ramses II gazing out over the Nile Valley at Abu Simbel. It is also impossible for the onlooker not to be reminded of the mysterious stone figures on the Easter Islands.
The legs are like the columns of a Greek temple. The lower legs have been made so long precisely so as to achieve this columnlike effect. The upper legs are short in proportion. The identical heads, which with their inscrutable and unfathomable expressions gaze out towards Skallingen and the entrance to the harbour, also contribute greatly to the glimpse you get of the supernatural - a hint of the divine.
The sculpture is not tied down to any one age. Its expressiveness, laden with atmosphere and emotion, makes it eternally valid.
That the number of figures sitting on the shore is precisely four is because Wiig Hansen found the number harmonious - more in accordance with the basic sculptural concept of "pure" mankind than, for example, three or five. Because of its size (it is nine metres tall) and charisma, the sculpture has become a landmark for Esbjerg. In clear weather the bodies, sitting there like unfurled sails, can be seen 10 kilometres away. Esbjerg has been enriched by a monumental sculpture of international stature."

It was a wonderful experience to be able to visit the zoo with our dog! They must of course go always on-leash, and some areas are off-limits (like the tigers/lions area and children playground) but it's great to be able to spend a nice day with them. You can see several families walking around with their dogs. Inside the zoo there are several "dog bars" where they can drink water. The zoo itself is nice, the animals look well kept and clean (it's not depressing as other zoos we've visited). Adult tickets cost DKK 210 in the summer, DKK 125 for children (3-11 y/o), and students can get a discount and pay DKK 168. During winter it costs DKK 190 for adults, DKK 105 children and DKK 152 for students. If you go by car you can park nearby for free; otherwise you can get there easily by bike or bus. You can also buy food inside but there are not so many options, mainly pizza and burgers, but there's also the option to bring your own food and grill it there for free (this is not available on winter).
Ana Vica — Google review
Excellent zoo. Easy to walk around with strollers, toddlers and seniors. Animals are well cared for and appear to have adequate accommodation.
One of the most beautiful places in Germany!
Not only the "Jever" beer commercial was shot here 😀 You drive five minutes through an idyllic and picturesque landscape and the only population are the sheep, which lie down completely familiar everywhere. And I mean "everywhere" (see photo). The wide beaches offer a peaceful relaxation you won't find anywhere else on the island. Take something to drink with you, because the sheep are smart, but they haven't managed to build a beach bar yet 🐑🍹🏝

The way there is via a road (fees €6). Simply leave the car/bike at home and walk the rest of the way. The path through the dunes is very beautiful, the path on the beach is even more beautiful.

We enjoy being here very often.
The entire elbow is private property and a daily fee is charged.
We noticed that some people also spend the night here in caravans and mobile homes. Maybe it was agreed upon with the owners because the license plates are from here.
But it's really beautiful to relax here.

Super Natur, toller Strand.

Ribe Cathedral, a medieval Romanesque-style structure that dates back to at least 948, is the oldest cathedral in Denmark. It dominates the skyline of Ribe and boasts notable paintings and a museum. The cathedral was extensively rebuilt in 1150 during a time when Ribe was prosperous and this contributed to its impressive architecture. Visitors can appreciate the serene interior and learn about the historical significance of the bishops who were ordained there.
The Ribe Cathedral is quite beautiful. While visiting this old town, one of the oldest in Europe, this is a must see. There is no entrance fee, although I'm sure that donations are accepted. The inside is serene and there is a lot of historical information about the bishops that were ordained there. The stop would be quite worthwhile.

Beautiful monument in Ribe. I was here 25 years ago and then again just recently. Have a trip upstairs and see the full view above the town

Beautiful chapel. Almost 1000 yrs old and still amazing. If you get a chance to enter, do it. It's also free.

Absolutely beautiful building. Every little detail from the rain gutters to the door handles are just exquisite. A true testimony of an era where craftsmen took pride in their work. The view from the tower is amazing.

Attended Christmas Eve service and actually enjoyed it. The sermon was relatable. Only thing to be aware of is that’s quite cool in there, so wear something warm. An absolute must-see when in Ribe.

Very nice historic church. If you're into history or very old architecture then I'd encourage a visit. The area of the town the church is at is also very charming.

Awesome cathedral, beautiful and still very well intact. Mid-week it’s basically empty so you can enjoy the full beauty without any other people! 😊

Good tourist attractions. One of the oldest village, heritage houses and church in Denmark. Cozy market place and restaurants nearby with live music if lucky. Enjoy your stay. Cheers!

Old cathedral with a lot of history inside. It has more flashy things inside than a normal traditional Danish Church, but it's a real beauty to walk inside. It's free to enter, but you have the option to go to the bell tower for a small fee.

Ribe is the oldest city in Denmark. Highly recommend to visit it if you are interested in old architecture, cute and fairy nordic atmosphere.

The cathedral is a stunning building, with a unique century-spanning architecture. The cathedral is open and free to visit, with only the tower tour being demanding a small payment. Overall great experience. Remember to be silent in the building, as this is something which affects one's enjoyment of the church!!

Fantastic history & experience with this special piece of Denmark. Absolutely worth a visit with a memory for life.
Magnus Bahr-Schnack — Google review
Baltic Sea on one side, North Sea on the other. How cool is that? Beware of the paid parking. It tales approx. 15-20 minutes to get to the tip of the shore, which is usually pretty crowded. There are also a couple of bunkers on the way. Highly recommended.
Etkin Getir — Google review
Grenen is Denmark's northernmost point and a unique natural phenomenon, it is where the two seas Skagerak and Kattegat meet, and the waves culminate with each other.
Also a restingplace for som seals
Atle Frydenlund — Google review
Amazing view of the North Sea and Baltic Sea meeting. Caution: if you have any kind of knee/feet/leg problems: it can be very difficult to walk alone since the sand is shifting and moving especially if it is very windy: take the sandormen train and have someone on your side to hold on to
Rosemarie Geiss — Google review

Amazing views! 100% recommended as a life experience you'll never forget.
There are hotels and restaurants in skagen, and a bus called sandormen, that can give you a lift over to the beach and back to the bus station, for about 35 kr. each person.

Legoland Billund Resort is a popular tourist attraction in Jutland, Denmark that offers fun rides and mind-blowing Lego models. The park features themed areas, miniature cities built from 20 million plastic Lego blocks and replicas of global icons including those from Star Wars movies. It has become one of Denmark's most visited tourist attractions outside Copenhagen due to its exciting family-friendly atmosphere.
Very good. I ordered a birthday package and my son was very happy. We stayed in Lego Hotel and the view directly to the park was very beautiful. The restaurant also good variety. We enjoyed a lot our visit :)

--- My situation ---
Family of 4, aged 12 - 40, bought an "Awesome season pass", went around 7 times in the span of 2 weeks.
--- General ---
In general the park is quite nice, it's a good size for a 1 day visit although on most days you won't be able to do everything that the park has to offer. Most attractions are fun around age of 12, but many are still fun when for older or younger people.
--- Other ratings ---
Food: 6/10 - There are a lot of food shops, the food itself is good but the prices are very high. One fish 'n chips cost us 120 DKK which is $16,70
Queues: 7/10 - The queues themselves are actually alright and well decorated, but the park is very often very busy. If you want to do the entire park i suggest you be there around 9:30 so you can already be in the queue before it opens up. I was usually able to do around 4 attractions within the first hour if I was fast.
Decoration: 7/10 - The decoration is good, although they can look dirty at times.
Toilets: 6/10 - The toilets themselves are alright but every toilet place looks old, is too small for the sometimes 20 people waiting (the lines do go outside of course). Doesn't look that clean but it's not problematic either.
Price: 4/10: The park has a quite hefty entrance fee, but things in the park can be sometimes outrageously expensive themselves too. Compared to other theme parks the prices are very high as I mentioned in the food rating.
--- Overall ---
Fun experience but very expensive, 7/10

I had a fun day. If you ask me, I would recommend spending two days at this park. It's possible to cover the majority of attractions in one day, but two days would make it perfect. Another piece of advice is to use the Reserve & Ride service. This makes the experience much more enjoyable.
Martynas Jurk?aitis — Google review
Very exciting cheering on when the gates open. Fast check in. Once inside soo much to see and do! Kids had an amazing time. Enjoyed the rides, movies , shows and creative play areas. Even just walking around admiring it all. Staff all super friendly. And the waiting for rides did not exceed 20 minutes.
S MC — Google review
Great experience to visit Legoland in winter. Maybe a little rainy day, but not crowded and no waiting for attractions. All rides are included when you buy a ticket. Kids enjoyed a Christmas holiday in Legoland ❤️ Only minus are prices inside, but you can expect something like that in every theme park.
Milka Majstorovic — Google review
It was really fun and you feel very nostalgic! Weird to say, but I was expecting more lego, it's more or less an amusement park with a lot of rides and playgrounds. But it was still really fun and the miniatures were amazing.
Anežka Krejčí — Google review
Super busy and queues long but then it is Easter holidays so to be expected. We'll run, clean, great rides for the kids. Brilliant day out.
Paul O'Brien — Google review
All the attention to detail makes this place great! Our kids loved every minute of it. There's something for everyone of all ages. I really appreciated all my kids (from ages 1-5) had something they could do to have fun. Most of the rides they could ride, or I could ride along with them. There was so much to explore and enjoy! As a visitor who only speaks English, I found it easy to get around, communicate, and know what I was doing.
Cory Fowler — Google review
It's kids paradise. Lots of great toys, setup for different parts of the world and activities around. It's really pricey so parents will have to think before coming. My advice is to pack lunch as the food options are mainly fast food. Overall love it.
Mihail Mitev — Google review
Would be a nice place, if the queues wouldn't take 60min each. In reality, after 8h in Legoland, we've managed to get on 6 attractions and have dinner. Brace Yourself for the longest standing time of your life. P.S. Make sure your kids are above 110cm, otherwise they'll miss out the best attractions.
Arain Ged — Google review
That was amazing experience for children and adults. We were visiting on 1st september and it wasn't overcrowded at all. We were able to try all the attractions. They are not too scary in general, but anyway there are options for all ages and taste.
Hanna — Google review
One of the best places for kids. We've stayed 2 days and it's enough for everything. From roller coasters, Lego park, Ninjago laser and many more fun activities. Highly recommended.
Marian Ghibu — Google review
Excellent LEGO theme park! Kids and adults both love it! To me the best is to try out all the rollercoasters! The Xtreme and the flying eagle are the best! The Dragon is by so scary. I love the haunted house too. Just too quick to finish. Smaller kids have many calm plays too. Wonderful vacation place to everyone!
Maomao Chen Larsson — Google review
An absolutely fantastic place! Loved every second here, you can't get bored here no matter if you're a kid or an adult. You have so many things to try and do, it's accessible for people with disabilities too. You reserve in advance and I think they just make some magic happen so everyone can enjoy the park!
You need 2 days to experience everything inside the park, and not hurry or just skip things due to lack of time.
If you arrive by car, you have to pay extra for parking, if you buy the tickets online, you can buy a ticket for the car too, and when you leave the parking lot, you just scan the ticket bar code and you're good to go.
You MUST try the Polar rollercoaster! It has a nice surprise in the middle of the ride 😁. And the coaster goes through a penguin enclosure. Yes, they do have real penguins in the park.
One thing to see is the rocket "launch". In the mini-world, up the hill, they have a miniature rocket and a Kennedy Space center from NASA. It has a full on show, and it's quite nice to witness.

Amazing theme park for kids and AFOL. We stayed in the newer Knight Castle Hotel. The room was so cool and with beautiful light box like a window above the bed. There is a kid’s bunk bed area with different light switch so kids can sleep earlier. The Lego gift shop is one of the largest Lego shop I have seen. Note that the Lego shop closes one hour after the park so go to the rides first. The miniature world has lots of details. You won’t be able to go on all rides and see everything in one day. We had a great time there.
Joe C — Google review
This is for sure a superb park, I think it's impossible to go on all rides or even most of them on a single day (I wonder why they choose to close at 5:00 p.m.), even if you have spent decent amount of money and have purchased ride reserve. The staff seems professional and very kind, I have noticed many toilets around the park, so that is convenient and a nice anecdote. The scenery of the park and the rides is marvelous. The only thing which was not good was the traffic jam on our way out of the parking lot, we got stuck there for a half an hour.
Gal Florsheim — Google review
A wonderful place to visit for both old and young alike. A great mix of things of to do, everything from simply enjoying the sights to water rides, to fast rides. Easy to do in one day and outside of the main vacation times not crowded and little to no wait for rides.

A must do experience!
Amazing place with big variety of games that are suitable for all ages. This very fun place is not for kids only, even adults will love their time there!
Definitely go for the annual pass
Majed El-Soukari — Google review
Went as a group of 4 adults, enjoyed seeing the park, bigger than I expected but food choices not so good, I know its a theme park but the most promising place for food was in polar land which was closed! The burger place seemed suspiciously like burger king...
Large parts of it seemed closed, not sure if its because its Christmas time or just in general lots of maintenance, kinda feel Tickets should be reflected to match what is actually open.
The atlantis 'ride' is easily one of the best bits and the mini lego town is brilliant. Maybe I would of enjoyed it more as a kid but it kept us all entertained and we honestly felt like it would be too much to see for just one day if everything was actually open
The cinema bit was a lot better than I expected!
Darren Stead — Google review
Such a nice experience, especially for young kids. I think from 3.5+ ,there are a bunch of things they can do already, we had a blast. The shops are on the expensive side, you often can get cheaper in other countries, but if you focus fun with the kids, you will enjoy it a lot!
Felipo Goncalves — Google review
We had a lot of fun. Clean and orderly but expensive. Some of the attractions feel a bit aged and overused. Staff is very friendly. Some advice for you:
- Bring your own food and drink. Everything inside is expensive. There are places where you can sit, eat and drink.
- It is Denmark so you never know when it will rain. Bring your raincoat.
- Wear comfy shoes. Place is big.
- If your child is shorter than 100cm, do not enter. Almost all rides require at least 100 cm height. Some require more.
- If you have a rolling cart or stroller you will have an easier time to haul your stuff around.
- Get your entry tickets online.
- Get your parking voucher online.
- In the lego store, ask for "Lego Passport". Nothing game changing just cool stuff 😄
- If you want to go out and get stuff from your car, ask for a stamp on your hand or you cannot get back inside.
Alperen Eğilmez — Google review
It's recommended to plan ahead, as navigation might get confusing once inside. The areas for older children are in a corner and could be easily missed if you're not careful. For true LEGO fans, visiting the Lego House is suggested. Legoland is more of a regular amusement park.
Per Hebi — Google review
One of the best experiences you can have. A large variety of attractions. We came as two adults, we were afraid that the place might be mainly for children, but I must admit that adults have more fun there than children!
Oliwia Flis — Google review
We visited Legoland before Christmas, and it was amazing. The staff was super friendly. The park has a lot of fun activities for people who have different ages. I totally recommend it to go, especially with kids. You can also have a birthday pin from the staff if it's your birthday.
Aquarium, trains, lego boat, and the duplo space for kids to play with Lego were great. Also, you can take a photo with Santa Claus Lego and decide if you 'll pay to print it or not. Also the staff asks if they can take a photo from your phone.
I just felt that the photographer was impatient, running to take the photos, and I didn't understand why, because there were just 5 people in the queue. And my photo wasn't great. Other girl from the staff took a photo from my phone and it was better. She was super friendly and patience.
The park is accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.
Karen Pedro — Google review
The place is amazing. Most of the things are for kids, but there are interesting things for grownups as well. It's a big park and there is plenty to see so book the day for it you will need 5 hours at least if you like to try the best stuff. There are lines for every activity, and you will wait 20-30 mins to enter.
Blagoja “Blasky” Mitrovski — Google review
Cool place to spend a couple of days with kids. Unfortunately the prices are so increased from 2021 that we did not buy any suvernirs, neither a photo, just too expencive 😞 Lego things are better to buy on line or also in thd shop in Hamburg. Moreover attractions close at 17 while park at 18, just to push you to the expensive shops...
Randers Regnskov is a popular tourist attraction, featuring glass rainforest domes with adventure trails and rope bridges. The zoo's temperature remains consistently warm, between 20C to 30C, allowing visitors to enjoy the tropical environment throughout the year. The enclosures house crocodiles, monkeys, manatees, pythons, iguanas and an array of rainforest flora and fauna such as orchids and hibiscus.
Fantastic day, saw some amazing animals, birds and reptiles. The areas are all different and great for adults and children, swing bridge , ropes and different levels so you can see the animals. Outside great pathways guide you to the different attractions. One of the best zoos I've seen.
Sue Wyles — Google review
Mostly indoor zoo with a tropical theme. Close contact with a lot of animals is possible. The animals seem well treated and the enclosures are big enough. The outside area is under development, when we visited hardly any animals were visible. Temperature inside is high. Facilities are fine. Enough parking available for a fair price.
Jeroen Haex — Google review
It's a good place to hangout with family. They have arranged the zoo quite good in particular the african tropical zoo. However, the outdoor part of the zoo showcasing hyena and all was not that good perhaps it might be off season when i went there.
fayyaz pocker — Google review
The most interactive zoo we have ever experienced - being right next to most animals (even snakes, if you dare to enter) without a barrier was definitely spectacular. Took selfies with a sloth a meter away - did not get to do it even in Latin America. Bats and monkeys flying and jumping around you surely made it fun 🤩
The outdoor areas are also very cool with hyenas, lynx, boars and domestic animals among others.
Laurynas Dailide — Google review
Fun indoor jungle zoo with two major dooms. Lots of greenery, fun paths to explore and free roaming monkeys, birds, snakes and butterflies. Ample parking outside building. Restaurant and gift shop. Seating area at end of one doom for bringing your own food.

This is my favorite place in Denmark!
And I have lived in Denmark about 12 years, both in Aarhus and Copenhagen. I have been there 4 times so far.
For anyone who likes animals, this place is great. You get to walk in between the animals, not like in a zoo where it feels artificial and boxed in.
It is also fantastic for kid of ALL ages!
Boris Borisov — Google review
Nicely done and good close-up views of the animals. Given the mix of outdoor sceneries in cold October and indoor 30 degrees 100% humidity areas, I find their attitude with lockers that require new payment every time you open and close them quite unfriendly towards the visitors.

It was not raining inside.Warm and wet.An adventure..Animal surprises everywhere.

Family friendly surroundings and very a nice experience for the children.
Various areas with different geographical topics. There's a large area outside with both animals and playgrounds.
The food you can buy could be priorized to become way better. It's just fries and soulless burgers and the a like.

Fun place to visit. There are many species to see and the ineractiveness of the layout adds to experience. On the downside, there are areas that are quite narrow and there are lot of people. Sometimes you can find yourself just standing in a long queue

It is a rather small zoo, the whole tour wouldn't take more than 3 hours. But it is nice and indoor, so suitable for winter or bad weather. It is worth a visit. I was happy with my visit.
Koldinghus, located in Kolding, is a historic castle that has been restored to serve as a cultural history museum. It boasts an impressive collection of Christian IV artifacts as well as gold and silverware. Although the castle's original fortress dates back to 1268, many of the structures seen today were built in the mid-15th century.
Nice experience even if I don’t know much about Danish history. The castle is very well highlighted with a modern renovation. It was a nice visit through different levels and you can even go on the top with a great city view. Currently there is an exhibition about the princess Mary and other members of the danish Crown. You can see there in particular some incredible royal jewels like the Ruby set.

Kolding Castle or Kolding hus is a Danish royal castle in the town of Kolding located in Denmark. This castle is a Historic beauty in Denmark which was found in the 13th century and has been expanded and has been through many wars and even caught on fire. The original king that lived in the castle was King Christoffer III and has been passed down by many generations. There isn't much interior design to it but very old fashioned, but the over all scale of the castle is immense enough to make someone hurl.
We really recommend that you visit Kolding Castle as it is a historical monument to Denmark and loved and enjoyed by many.
Deepal Senadheera — Google review
The Koldinghus offers a completely different kind of castle experience. The formerly demolished outer walls have been supplemented in a very modern way, so that something wonderful new has emerged. The exhibitions offer some history, some from local artists and the artistic handicrafts that the grateful people owe to their queen. The tower also offers the best view in town.
Der m?de Joe — Google review
Lovely castle and grounds, with some historical detail. Make sure to take a small bag with you if you want to carry your purse and mobile, as they make you put any large bags in the locker (which is reasonable, because of the gift shop). An area was closed off due to school children activities, and the restaurant sign/buffet hours was written only in Danish, which was a tad confusing.
Sunshine Pie — Google review
I was positively surprised by the exhibit and really enjoyed it.
The story and history of the castle was interesting and well presented.
But what really created a special experience was the current exhibit of the Royal Danish dinnerware with hand painted local plants and complete set of the Flora Danica dinnerware from the king's birthday dinner in 1808. The display was.beautiful and the craftsmanship is amazing.
The exhibit of the "Dannnebrog" royal ship inside the castle was interesting and impressive in it's design but still felt a little out of place and blocked the view of some of the fire restaurations which I would have preferred to see.
Marcel Fromhage — Google review
Very interesting story of the castle itself. The portrait paintings of Frederik V are amazing, pay attention to the first painting by the French artist and then his next painting. An astonishing difference, one looking very caricatural and the other like a photoshop of our modern times. Not to be missed the trial of clothes from the 16th /17th centuries, for free. The castle burn down in the 19th. Century , then rebuilt around 40 years ago. An incredible work of reconstruction. Look at the amazing wood work columns in the interior inspired by some gothic churches interiors.

Top rating for this castle. Love the way it was done. Recovered from a burned out ruin without overdoing it. Different themes throughout keeping the interest. Spent two hours there and was sorry to have come so close to the closing time, well worth a longer visit

Koldinghus has a remarkable and occasionally central place in Danish history. It is a shame that it burned down, but the restoration is remarkable, not in what it recreated (that wasn't the point) but how it displays the echoes of magnificence.
Including other individual exhibits of Danish royal heritage nicely rounds out the experience. Also, visit the small exhibit in the stable building too (I won't reveal here, but it's worth some time to see)
If you are in the region, it is a must see

I went to Koldinghus for Christmas Market and oh it was lovely. Really huge building with lots of rooms and hidden stairs and chambers. It holds interesting exhibitons - history, royal clothing, royal tableware etc. Located uphill and provides nice view. Not far from city centre to walk. Parking available. Recommend buying the ticket online so don't have to wait in the queue.

If one likes visiting historical places, this is a nice place to go. The new additions to the castle is actually really beautiful and eye-catching. There is also a nice collection of souvenirs to buy. However, as a first time visitor, I could not find much information about the history behind the castle until I accidentally ran into a big screen that explained the history of the castle. Only after that it got interesting. Otherwise, one would wonder why there is a mixture of modern and old architecture, and many other questions.
Den Gamle By is a vast open-air museum in central Denmark that recreates life in a small market town during the time of Hans Christian Andersen. The attraction features 75 period houses and hosts a large cast of "re-enactors." It is a fun day out for history buffs who can explore the attractions's living snapshots of Danish social history from the 18th, 19th and 20 centuries.
Wow, this was by far one the best museum we visited in Europe! I am not a museum person but I really enjoyed this experience. I loved the different time periods like 70's, 20's and 1700-1800's. They even had people dressed up for those time periods. I think they missed the mark on merchandise. I would have had more Renaissance type things to buy. The gift shop needs better merch. The bakery was delicious! This place is a must see!

An open air museum that has a combination of real shops and crops. It contains recreation of buildings from different eras and working class and displays what Denmark cities used to look like. Quite beautiful. Renovations are currently happening for 2023, and will have new entrances and the more 1950s Denmark. Recommend to go and see the telephone store to see a real working olden day telephone! This museum is worth a visit!

Den Gamle By in a cool spot to visit in Aarhus. It’s like walking onto a movie set of an old Danish town. I loved popping into the little shops and houses and the museums, you really get a feel for what life was like back in the day. It’s perfect for a chill but educational day out, whether you're with family or just hanging with friends. I would go more often if the entrance fee was lower!

A wonderful exhibition of Danish life through the ages. Very educational and happy to see that so many beautiful original buildings have been carefully disassembled and reassembled at this location in order to preserve the wonderful architecture and history.
Very interesting that the newer 1970s section is used to help those with Alzheimer’s. My son was so excited about the hi-fi stereo shop and repair store. Had an wonderful chat and education from the two gentlemen working there.
If you want to really take it all in, you probably need 1 1/2 days to truly explore everything.
Must see!!

What a place! I was already excited before I went but I was even more impressed during my visit. It still exceeded my high expectations. I visited during the week and it must be even more exciting on weekends. There were a few people dressed up but it is incredible how the houses and buildings are very well preserved and give you an incredible accurate impression of how life was in the past. Some shops are still manned by staff and are used as real shops. It's an incredible experience. Many people had their dogs also. I didn't eat there but will do next time. It's a MUST to visit when in Aarhus. Fantastic!

This is an open air museum where houses and shops from different periods have been recreated with care. They have bakery shops where you can have a snack and coffee (the cakes and goodies available must also be from yesteryear..:)); a garden where you can buy flowers and herbs; horses and buggy drivers; etc
Will suit children or people not brought up and exposed in or exposed to older European architecture and culture. But if you have been all you might need is a quick gander through before heading to the next of Aarhus’ many museums.

Great places to see and understand the history of Denmark and how old danish life was during 70’s, 80’s and now. They have different zones with different decades. We got a wonderful guide who explained all the historical details nicely and as a story. Had a short trip around this but definitely will take a day or half a day to cover all the houses and details.
Recommend place to visit and experience the old life of danish people.
They have a restaurant with danish specific foods.

Situated in the heart of Aarhus, this open air museum (set in 3 distinct time periods) is a great way to spend a few hours. Easy to find and to park nearby, it is a fascinating look at Danish life in the 1700s, 1920s, and 1970s.
Genuinely interesting and packed with things to see. Well worth a visit

Great place to visit and dig into the Danish history. Very pleasant walk around the old buildings, which you can explore inside as well. It is nicely organised and child friendly with lots of activities for them. We spent almost 3 hours there and still did not see everything we wanted.

This place is a must go. It's an outdoor attraction with buildings from different ages and tells you a little about the history from each time. It's a great place to go with friends, family, couple or even alone. Adults pays around 190dkk if I am not wrong and kids are free.
Accessibility: I didn't see any elevator, must buildings have only stairs and not all streets are wheelchair "friendly" so I might be a challenge.
Language: most people from the food courts and others services speaks English
Food: they have some options like hot dog, pizza, a danish traditional restaurant, ice cream
Toilets: there are many toilets around the establishment and they are clean
In general, is a great experience
Bonus: they have a carriage tour and is worth it to pay more (100dkk) to go around the Botanical Garden instead of only paying 50dkk to go around the streets inside Old Town

We had an exceptional experience at Dem Gammel by Visit, and the old brewery was the spotlight for me. The gentle brewer's kindness and attentiveness made us all warm and welcomed. He walked us through the entire brewing process, allowing us to savor different types of beer—an amazing and educational experience. Purchasing the beer cup for 20 kronas opened the door to unlimited feast as I tasted freshly brewed beer. Plus, the festive Christmas atmosphere outside added to the overall delight. It was, without a doubt, a great and delicious visit.

Takes you back to a past era with houses from the 18th Century. It was worth going. Found some geese shouting and trying to get food from the people there. That was fun.

Fun and interesting museum, documenting life in Denmark throughout the years. There are things from 2014, the 70-80ies and all the way back to the 1600’s. Great fun for both adults and kids. The only thing that was less than ideal was the looong line to get in and that some of the people working on serving lunch seemed a bit unexperienced, but other than that it’s a perfect place to visit in Aarhus.

What a great trip.
We went there because a local guy in a fish store had telling us about it.
Great journey through the different years and really great buildings and decorations.
Everything is looking really nice and you can go inside in some buildings.
Great experience, I would recommend a visit on a weekday, and plan about 4-5 hours.
If I went to Denmark again, I will come back.

Located in Aarhus Denmark. A fantastic snapshot of life in Denmark over 100's of years on a truly grand scale.
Real buildings that have been removed from their original locations and set in place in zoned areas depending on their time in history. There is a complete street with shops from the 1970's filled with relevant products and some even with actual staff. Along with all the buildings filled with historic items there are things going on all of the time. A group of women washing clothes by a stream, young boys carrying water from the village well, horses and carriages, a vintage car driving along a cobbled street. There are hundreds of exhibitions and there are also info boards with info in both Danish and English. You'll have no problem communicating as the Danish are brilliant English speakers.
Food and drink is easily available, there are plenty of toilets. Not all areas are accessible to wheelchair users or those with impaired mobility but nevertheless there is much to see.
You'll need a minimum of 4 hours here, you could easily spend the day and not see it all.
We had an amazing time and would thoroughly recommend

I do love this place. I can say that this is my favorite open-museum in the world. Things are presented in different attractive ways. Let us interact with a particular exhibited item. Enjoy and have so much fun. I can stay here the entire day or two days if have time more. Worth to visit.
ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is a world-renowned art museum located in the heart of Aarhus, Denmark. With an impressive collection spanning 300 years, the museum is home to some of the most iconic works of Danish modernist and abstract art. Including paintings from the 1800s, the Danish Golden Age of modernism, and works from more recent decades, ARoS Aarhus is a must-see for anyone visiting Aarhus.
Great Museum! It proves definitely that modern art does not have to be boring and strange, but can be beautiful, inspiring and a great experience.
The Vertigo exhibition was really exceptional. The many projections of dancing people, together with the music really gave me the feeling of being totally emerged in the project.
Also the dried plant exhibition was really impressive. Read the text next to the plants.

Aesthetically speaking, this is definitely a wonderful place to visit. The museum is a great place to explore, and has so many unique experiences and exhibitions that every time we come back, it's completely different. As its quite small, you can explore all of the different exhibits in a few hours, which means that when you're with kids you're not completely drained. The rainbow gives some amazing photo opportunities, just make sure to visit when it's bright outside for the best effect!
Sam Caesar — Google review
Great Museum from the outside.
The rainbow circle at the top looks great, and it is very entertaining, probably the highlight of the museum, something to remember.
If you are under 31 years old, you pay 145 Dkk which is a fair price.
Interesting modern art exhibitions in the inside but nothing spectacular, I must say. Some of the floors are not really part of the museum since there are closed restaurants or library or workshop areas which can't be visited.
If you are in Aarhus, it's definitely worth visiting this museum, but I would not travel to Aarhus to see it.

This might be one of my favorite museums I’ve ever visited...and I’m not a huge museum person. By far this was my favorite museum in Denmark— the architecture, for one, was beautiful, and of course the rainbow panorama lived up to the hype and was a joy to walk around. But the real stars of the show were all of the exhibits on each of the floors— every single one of them I was intrigued by, and major props to the museum curators because they are slaying. There is truly something here for everyone!

I love this Cultural Art Museum. We had 2 Kids with us today. And they could walk around them self if they wanted, to se what they would. There is so much different exhibitions for All of us and we get a lot inspiration with us. The covid-19 restrictions were good and the most guest followed them. We'll be back. ✨🙌

A lot of exhibitions under one roof. It's all skewing a little bit too modern for my taste, so I really loved the exhibition showing various aspects of "human nature" portrayed through 200 years of painting. The rooftop rainbow installation is deeply fascinating and a must-see.

So so lucky to be staying so close to this incredible art museum!! Do not miss the incredible installations on the bottom floor that will transport you to other worlds, the BIG boy, and the rainbow walkway on the rooftop. The cafe and gift shop are lovely too!

Very accessible and clearly locally popular modern art institute. The rainbow panorama is a very special experience. It was lovely during sunset in early evening when it's not busy. Very good museum shop. The collection of my Danish artists, and local painting was interesting, as were the different changing exhibitions.

One of the best contemporary art museums in Scandinavia. They have a huge selection, a wonderful and well-known “rainbow glass” roof passage, and some amazing experiential art rooms in the basement. Cannot recommend this enough. Get there early if you plan on seeing everything!

The rainbow skywalk was ingenious. Also the different exhibitions are great. The art installation at the ground floor is definitely a must to see.

Looks good on the outside with the rainbow structure on top but entrance fee way too expensive in my honest opinion. 20 pounds for art that I can’t appreciate. Very niche tourist attraction. Shop and toilets are good though.

ARoS is a great contemporary art museum that constantly refreshes its exhibitions every 3-6 months. The highlight is undoubtedly the rainbow installation, "Your rainbow panorama" by Ólafur Elíasson, offering breathtaking views over Aarhus. Currently featuring works by Annette Messager, Susan Philipz, Ron Mueck, and Erró, alongside the intriguing permanent collection, ARoS promises an engaging experience. Personally, I was captivated by the "Boy" in the "Far from Home" exhibition.

An art museum holding various exhibitions that will likely take you hours to complete. No backpacks nor big bags are allowed to be brought into the exhibitions. There is a locker area next to the ticket purchase to store your belongings before entering the exhibition floors.
Would recommend taking the elevator up to the top floor and then working your way down if it isn't too busy. Otherwise, going up one floor at a time, then take the elevator back down.

This is an absolute must see when you come to Aarhus. The rainbow panorama is just something else and the rest of the exhibitions are interesting over 6/7 floors. I spend around 2 hours here to see everything. It is very accessible too. Highly recommended.

Great contemporary art museum. The exhibitions are constantly changing and you can see new ones every 3-6 months. It’s worth visiting the rainbow installation at the last floor. You’ll have the chance to see a beautiful view over the entire Aarhus.

Amazing and beautiful museum! A must visit place in Aarhus for sure!
I bought the ticket some days before and it was perfect because when I arrived there was a long queue to buy a ticket.
The museum have beautiful and interesting exhibitions.
The Moesgaard Museum, located 10km south of the city, is a modern museum that showcases exhibits covering human and ancestral history. The museum's unique design slopes out of the ground and has won numerous awards. One of its main attractions is the Grauballe Man, a well-preserved body discovered in 1952 in Grauballe village.
AMAZING museum with a lot of technical and visual information! I really adore it. Take your time when going there. You spend a lot of hours there cause especially the basic exhibitions are so well designed and detailed.
Before going check definitely the opening times cause some days it closes a little early.

The location is spectacular !
The presentation of the exhibitions is incredible, there is clearly a lot of efforts put into this Museum.
And we were lucky to come at a time where is was pretty much empty, which made it a lot more enjoyable.
However it's pretty expensive, a bit repetitive and definitely lacks some interactiveness.

This is an awesome museum to visit.
Don’t forget to allocate enough amount of time for the visit as the exhibition is very immersive and informative. There is massive amount of information and details to take in if you have time.
It has a nice restaurant to help rest and recharge during your visit.
The staff are professional and helpful.

Museum located on the outskirts of Aarhus. It can be reached with a bus. The views of the museum both in summer and winter are spectacular and it is very beautiful. The attention to the public is very good and the museum is interesting if you like Danish culture and history. However, I thought that the museum would be bigger. In 2-4 hours you can visit it completely.

Impressive attraction! It is a great place both for adults and children, where you could spend all the day and have fun and educational activities. A jump into the history of humankind and many interactive things to explore and understand how humans have evolved. The ticket is valid for the whole day and you can exit and take a rest and then enter again the exhibition. The location is amazing, overlooking the forest and the sea. There is also a restaurant, serving tasty food and drinks with a great view of the park. Convenient bus connection from the city center to the museum in less then 30 minutes. Highly recommended!

One of the engaging and immersive museums that I've been too. This is definitely a must visit if you plan to go Aarhus. Take bus 18 from the main areas and its the final stop. Lots of interactive elements in the exhibitions and can easily spend 3-4 hours here. On Wednesday nights, this opena to 9pm! The famous Grauballe Man is interesting make sure you watch the documentary before hand and also the Vikings from the East has great history and replicas. Don't forget to go to the top to see the view! Highly recommend!

Still one of the best museums in the world both in terms of content and architecture.
The bookshop is also magnificent.
On this occasion we also visited the new "Rus" exhibition which brings together a lot of interesting items, the majority of which seem to be from Ukraine. Fascinating stuff.

Set in a lovely area about 30 minutes (by No 18 bus) outside the city. It catered well for English speakers and was really interesting in a typucal museum way, ie lots of: artifacts; written and audio information and some interesting animations. Very easy to get to as it's 1 end of the bus line.
Travel note: we have rejsekorts (travel cards) bought in Copenhagen, which work here too, so if you plan to use buses and trains in Denmark, they're definitely worth getting

I included this museum on my list of the best ones. It's fascinating to see how humanity has evolved over the years—through stone, bronze, and iron ages. I particularly enjoyed the Egyptian exhibition. Plan to spend at least half a day exploring it.
Sertaç Aldüz — Google review
A really big and full museum. It has a huge collection of artifacts from Denmark, organised in chronological order on displays and exhibitions, starting from the stone age up to the medieval. You need about 2-3 hours to tour yourself around. In addition, a nice temporary exhibition was available for the collapse of the Roman empire due to the arrival of the people from the East "Out of chaos". Plan also for some extra time in order to check this brilliant building from the outside and especially explore the views that the roof garden provides.
Nikos Gkekas — Google review
Interactive history. Definitely worth a visit once in a while. The permanent exhibition takes quite some time if you’re trying to follow the stories and timeline. We’ve also seen 3 of the main temporary ones that really impressed us: The Day Of The Dead, about Mexican (and international) traditions honoring/celebrating the lives of people no longer with us; Out of Chaos (from the Roman Empire to aprox. 600 AD) where, among others, we’ve seen some of the famous Romanian treasures (Closca cu Puii de Aur) and more recently about Egyptian life and death traditions.
It is also kids-friendly, with lots of interactive stories or learn-by-playing points.

Another very interesting museum if you like history and anthropology. History of mankind with a twist - including that of Aarhus during the Viking Age. The museum is divided into the different ages which you can enjoy. Just a few photos as teasers. Loads of outdoor space for children to run around as well. One of the few museums that have free lockers.
Elaine Camilleri — Google review
It's a museum of natural history and evolution. It's good for a one-time visit. I dislike it because it's not my vibe BUT my friend really enjoyed it so it's a subjective rating! It's got exhibitions about the Vikings era, religion, and anything in between.
Diana Moldovan — Google review
This museum is fantastic. The presentation of the exhibition "The life of the dead* is very beautiful. The lighting, the atmosphere, the pieces, all very enjoyable. It made us talk about death with the children in a more spiritual meaning rather than the fear of losing someone. The question we got from them due to this exhibition were different than the normal "death" questions children normally have. 10/10!
But we loved the stone age exhibition the most. The diorama's were so good, the story telling was well done, the presentation blew my mind. As an adult I was immerged in this world as well as our children.
Bronze, Viking, middle ages were all very very well presented. The "keys" in the viking age is an interesting take to bring us the different stories. The mannequins are so life like it's almost scary.
The price is good for the experience. Coffee, cola and four things to eat was the same price as tickets. A bit on the expensive side, but it was tasteful and good.
Recommended for sure! Go if you have the chance!
Our kids are 9 and 13 and did not want to go, we left with kids talking and talking and talking about all the things the museum presented.
Rides & attractions including a water park, plus accommodation options; open Apr to Oct.
It has a few small drawbacks, such as it's erratic opening days which are designed to keep the place as full as possible. But it's a great place to spend a day or two out. Really good rides for all ages and the staff are excellent, especially by Danish standards. I've been here many times and they are always making additions and keeping the place clean etc.
NOTE: Those from outside scandinavia will need to understand that some rides etc are not attended by staff and require a degree of responsibility and comon sense on your part. This is normal here but was a bit weird for me when I first came across it.

We were visiting Fredericia Denmark on a cruise and decided to rent a car to visit Djurs and we are very glad we did! This is a world class amusement park with a great selection of rides and coasters in Denmark. It’s a beautifully landscaped and maintained park with many up to date rides, a huge selection of food offerings, cute characters throughout the park and even a place where you can make your own bread over an open fire - how cool is that! What really makes this park special is how friendly everyone who works here is. Service levels were very “Disney-ish” throughout the park, which is amazing. I can’t wait to come back!

Fun place to spend the day at with your family, at least if you're young or young at heart when it comes to the adults. :p
Everything is easy to find and access and prices aren't too crazy. You're also able to buy refillable soda for the entire day, though I wish they had actual water instead of sugar water or aspartame sweetened beverages... Even at the buffet we ate at you couldn't get water unless you asked the staff for some tap water.. Though water was available in the beverage shops around the area at least. Eventually I found out people were refilling water bottles at the restroom, which had ice cold water. Recommend if you want to save money. ^^
Rides were run, ranging from wild to tame, so there's something for everyone, though I wish a few of them would loop at least once since they did feel a bit short at times.
Staff seemed to do their job well, too.

Odense Zoo offers a unique experience for families with regular feeding times and special activities such as overnight stays. Visitors can get up close to various animals, including kangaroos, tigers and manatees without any safety concerns or harassment of the animals. The zoo's decor is impressive, making it feel larger than its actual size. To enhance your trip to Roskilde, visit Funen Village before departing where you can see an open-air museum depicting life in the 1700s.
Of all the Danish zoo gardens located in a city (as opposed to out in the countryside where space is plenty) this is by far the best. Both in terms of visitor experience and care for the animals. We especially like how they create an ambience with themed surroundings (like the trade station in Africa) and the wide selection of animals.
Finally there are food options for most diets which is a bonus.

Amazing Christmas decorations, we are visiting this zoo many times a year, it's always super cozy, Animals are well taken care of. Our favourite are penguins. You can also book a feeding of some of the animals and self feed them. We loved this experience.

It really is a great zoo, especially if you come with children. You can get very close at times (cangaroos, tigers and manatees are some examples) without worrying that you are in danger or the animals are harassed. The decoration is quite nice and it feels so much bigger than it actually is. We spent 3-4 hours and didn’t even see everything.
We would definitely do it again!

I was very surprised by how close we could get to the animals and it felt like the animals were very interested and curious in interacting with us. The animals seemed to be kept very natural and healthy. No wonder that this zoo received the "Best in Europe" award in 2013 in its category (zoos with up to 500,000 visitors per year). The huge tortoises were also a highlight.
A small side note: Biology students get a free entry ticket.

As you enter, you are greeted by a sizable playground, a true haven for children with its diverse range of entertainment options. The presence of fast food options is convenient for quick bites, and there is also a restaurant available, although the food falls short of expectations.
For automobile enthusiasts, the castle houses several museums showcasing retro vintage cars, motorcycles, and carriages, providing a fascinating glimpse into the past. The presence of numerous lawns throughout the castle grounds offers ample space for picnics, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The castle itself is undeniably beautiful, but it is disappointing that visitors can only explore a small portion of it. The inability to see the entirety of such a magnificent structure can be frustrating for those seeking a complete experience. Nonetheless, the surrounding landscape is stunning, adding to the overall allure of the castle.
Despite its flaws, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The ticket prices may be on the higher side, but the castle compensates by offering a variety of activities and attractions to keep visitors engaged and entertained. Whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or someone looking for family-friendly fun, this castle has something to offer for everyone

An amazing day for children and adults. The castle itself is stunning, with explanations in Danish, German and English. The car and motorcycle exhibit was extensive. The children's playground is enormous and caters from the very young to teenagers. It was the best playground I have ever seen, and we could have spent two days there to explore everything.

Amazing and unexpected!
The whole property is worth spending the whole day, and there is something for the whole family.
Pristine clean, restrooms everywhere, seating and resting areas too.
You can plan the whole day there, you will not regret it at all!!
And the on-site restaurant is also good!!

Nice exhibitions.
Great place to come with kids.

Picture perfect castle still owned by the family; some Counts of Denmark. About €25 entry but there is lots for your money. A lovely castle, an exhibition on some amazing clothes worn by the family, a vintage car, plane, outdoor camping, motorcycle and rescue vehicles display. A playground that will satisfy any child, loads of places to eat, toilets, free parking, gorgeous gardens, plus you can camp overnight for a fee. Highly recommended

It is always nice to visit this beautiful place. Our 4 year old daughter was crazy about all the playgrounds and ice cream in the unicorn cup. The owners develop the infrastructure all the time, so every time you can easily plan to spend all the day there.

From the castle, to the gardens, to the various museums, a visit here is well worth the cost.

Wow. Large carpark. Can just visit the lovely well maintained grounds, beautiful gardens, and restaurant. Good treetop walk and play area for kids. Several large barns containing exhibitions of interest, transport, cars, motorcycles, emergency vehicles and surprisingly good one on camping!.
The castle was brilliant. Very good download able guide. Can walk around all the rooms, not stand behind a rope. Go up into the roof, more exhibits to see.

This place is amazing. The castle itself, though not that impressive, is still worth visiting. It’s not huge so you will probably only be spending an hour or so touring the interior but the grounds have much more to see and do. We didn’t actually get to see all of it but it’s definitely worth spending at least half a day here especially if you’re bringing the kids.

As stately homes go this is a very well thought out and attractive location. In addition to the house, there are very expansive, beautiful and well-maintained gardens, and several museum collections. Kids are also well catered for with fun parks and theme areas. The highlight of the house is Titania'Titania's Palace - a miniature castle that was hand-built in Ireland by James Hicks & Sons, Irish Cabinet Makers, who were commissioned by Sir Nevile Wilkinson from 1907 to 1922.

Amazing place, so much to do for all the family. Fantastic collection of cars, bikes, motorcycles, and a few planes and helicopter. it's a must to visit the castle as well as the grounds. The dolls House and collection of items in the attic are a must see.

Beautiful place with lots of attractions: labirynths, some interesting exhibitions: old cars, motorcycles, rescue cars, camps, big playgrounds, beautiful gardens.
Unfortunately we couldn’t visit the castle as it was closed due to some huge festival, but still it was worth to visit it
The German U-boat, which was operational during World War II, serves as a historical and technical submarine museum. Despite its limited size, the museum is divided into various sections that provide visitors with an insight into the design of submarines and how their crew lived on board. It is a poignant reminder of the many lives lost during WWII. The submarine has been well-preserved but lacks adequate English translations to enhance visitor experience.
It’s an old submarine, that is open for a visit, as a museum. It’s not very big, but there are several sections. Its quite interesting to see how the submarine is designed, how people serve there, where they slept, ate, shower. Horrible to imagine, that in WW2 for many this kind of submarines became a grave.

I loved this Place - so cool to take a step back into History. So nice to see it preserved. Fun place to visit. The area is really beautiful. If you read book or watched a few U-Boot Movies most notable Das Boot. You can get a sense of how it must have been to live in one of these U-Boot. Especially under War times conditions. The where pretty sophisticated for the time - obviously U-Boots have come a long way since than. If you are in the area you should visit this Museum especially if you are a history buff. Also your visits helps in maintaining this Museum so others can enjoy it hopefully for many years to come. Worth a visit

Amazing place to visit and get an appreciation for what thousands of young German men had to endure. Make sure to visit the nearby German Navy memorial.

The submarine is well maintained and interesting in itself. However, there are no English translations. The submarine should have more informational notes, to explain what, how, and why.

Hello...2018...I visited U-995 with the idea of exploring the bowels of an old WWII sub...things were not so...being there made me think about life of those men...their fears and their joys...the machine and its mechanisms gave way to empathy with those warriors. I am grateful for having gone...I will always remember the cordiality of the employees of the memorial...the people of Laboe and from the Admiral Scheer hotel...today it is very expensive for me to return, but I don´t lose hope!! The war memorial is highly recommended. The vie from the top is breathtaking, you can see really far out into Schleswig-Holstein.
However the main attraction, the submarine itself was disappointing; they haven't really bothered with labels or information about the machinery. It was just a 1 minute walk through the submarine.

This German sub from 1942 is an absolute must to visit! You can easily visit it on the beach of Laboe, on the opposite harbour site of Kiel. Best to catch the direct ferry to go there, it's such a pleasure in fine weather. We previously visited the sowjet sub U434 in Hamburg. Even so the sowjet one was much bigger in size, more modern, build in 1976, it had a far more claustrophobic feeling. I know which one I'd rather be on 😁

German U-boat, later used by the Norwegian navy after WW2 and returned back to Germany in the 1970s.
Nice experience to walk through, see and imagine people living in it. Not very long and can be completed in an hour easily.

The boat is in great condition inside and out. Because of the way its propped up you can go under it and view it from angles you normally cant (like U-2540 in Bremerhaven which is still afloat).

The magnificent City Hall, or Rathaus, located in the heart of Hamburg's Rathausmarkt is a vast neo-Renaissance structure adjacent to the Stock Exchange (Borse). Completed in 1897, the City Hall contains 647 rooms, many of which are open to the public for city's annual Long Night of Museums event.Notable features include the stunning painted ceiling in the Kaisersaal depicting German merchant shipping importance and it's opulent baroque style.
I took the tour in the Rathaus and I very like it. Unfortunately there was no possible to take it in English but the guide was very friendly and gave me the printed information in English.
Also, near to the Rathaus is located the Christmas marked with very delicious food.

It is one of my favorite places in Hamburg. The square where it is located, the lake, the buildings, everything is historical and in a magnificent atmosphere. it always has a different feeling in summer and winter, it is the favorite place of all tourists :) If you're going to feed the mantis and the ducks by the lake, don't forget to take something with you :) especially in summer, everyone gathers here to have a drink, it is a very lively area.

The majestic building. A true witness to the history and explains its grandeur.
It gives a thought what Hamburg was even centuries ago and what kind of city it was.
The gothic architecture, the central tower, the figurines speak a lot.
Inside also it’s no less. The high curved ceilings not missing the symmetry. The intact flooring, sober lighting highlighting all elements.
The place commands its respects by leaving the entire place the visitors.
We visited it in a working day but a festive day.

What a MAGNIFICENT building. It looks beautiful at any time of day, from every single angle. You can walk into the foyer for free and read up on the history of the building. HOWEVER, I would highly recommend catching a guided tour. We had a terrific time with our tour guide Patrick (English, 12pm, Friday, €5). It went over an hour long, and I learned so many interesting facts and laughed. so. much. Very enjoyable! Also very worth seeing all the different, lavishly decorated rooms.
A tour through the Rathaus was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Just wonderful. It was built in late 1800s and it took 11 years to build it. The tower is 112 meters tall, so you can see the tower in every point of the city. There are 20 scrulptures pf the kings. Furthermore, there is a fountain inner courtyard. If you don't see this building in Hamburg, never say that you visited Hamburg.

Step back two hundred years to the grandeur of Hamburg, the preferred port for international trade and financial hub of Europe. Great sites, food carts and restaurants and high end shopping for the Louie Vuitton fans.

Really interesting and informative. The history of Hamburg and the town hall are explained on the guided tour.
Like so many palaces of recent centuries that we have seen elsewhere, the extravagance was obscene, where much of the population would have been living in poverty. Incredible building, sculptures, artworks and décor abound.
The Australian flavour added in 1897 was very unexpected.
Well worth a look.

Definitely a must to see!!! Iconic Hamburg city hall architecturally brilliant, emotionally poetic, like a fairytale palace. Definitely recommended to see from every angle and definitely walk inside or find to do something inside. There’s a square in front of it that you can find every thing or whatever you’re looking for. I felt in here like Liverpool I don’t know why it remembers me.
The world's largest miniature railroad, Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany, is a fascinating place to visit with its many details and scenes from different parts of the world. The exhibits are carefully detailed and often include special effects such as fire trucks putting out fires or skiers descending the Swiss mountain.
Absolutely amazing! Good for both kids and adults to visit. The level of detail required to create these structures must have taken countless hours. You can take all the time you need here to admire the intricacies.
After you gain entry, head up to the top floor and start your journey! You'll be able to experience both day and night scenes which will be simulated periodically. More cities are in development so definitely visit again next time.

I had an unforgettable visit to Miniature Wunderland in Hamburg last weekend! This place offers a truly unique experience with meticulously detailed miniatures representing various cities worldwide, predominantly European ones. The highlight for me was the intricate train networks and the miniature airport with planes taking off and landing. It was a bit crowded, but the 20 euro adult ticket was worth every penny. The presence of miniature shops, a food court, and restroom facilities made the visit even more convenient. Miniature Wunderland is a must-see attraction for anyone in Hamburg!

Super cool! you could spend the whole day here and still not have seen everything. The staff are very friendly and the bistro is a nice place to rest. This place is truly a marvel, even if you're not a model making fan.
All the models are crafted with exceptional detail and they're full of buttons for the whole visiting experience to turn from passive to interactive at will.
On the other side, the place feels very touristy, with souvenir shops packed with unrelated stuff, and a "restaurant" too. Too much people can ruin your experience, and a Saturday evening would not be the perfect day to be there.

Such an extraordinary experience! I'm amazed 👏🏻. Every detail, every city, everything is just perfect. I was not expecting so much from this place and was absolutely positively surprised. Great job! Honestly, I think adults enjoy more than kids, as we can appreciate more the details... but it is a nice place for all ages. It is a must in Hamburg for sure! Better to buy the tickets in advance.

Just wow !!! It's an amazing museum. So much to see and be amazed. We spent around 4 hours seeing all the models. The best was the airport and airplane model. It's wonderful place to get kids and even the old ones enjoy the museum. There are many different models. Buying tickets in advance is highly recommended. There is a restaurant as well in the museum. Breakfast and lunch options were good. I recommend booking tickets for the morning slot so that you have enough time to explore the whole museum.

Parking is very restrictive in this area so you are better parking away and walking to the place. The cafe served really nice food and all the staff were polite. The models themselves were very impressive especially with how they interlink. The railway control room is also very impressive.

A great place to spend a couple of hours. Be amazed by the displays.
There is a simulation of day and night views of all the displays.
The airport seems to be the most popular. I had a wonderful visit.
There is a canteen within the museum. So one can rest and have a bite before continuing.

Nice spot. It took us around 2 hours to see the whole thing. The cost is 20 euro per person, which is interesting to see but, in my opinion, not a must. We went on Sunday, and it was packed it was hard to get near to the expositions to look closely

Simply amazing! Was a fun experience. The amount of details is crazy. Also, the whole exhibition is interactive so you’ll get engaged as soon as you start your visit. I’d recommend getting the tickets beforehand because the place gets crowded. It has interesting exhibitions already but they’ll add more soon and I bet it’ll be just as great. You can easily spend 3 hours there. And you’ll enjoy it! They offer guided tours so you can see everything from a different perspective.

The models and figures are mind blowing.
The detailed models of structures and landscapes around the world are magnificent. By gazing at the tremendous level of detail one gets a true sense of the scale of human activity on earth. The scale and vastness of our environmental impact.
One could spend all day there.

Absolutely astonishing, there’s a million adjectives I could say about this place and I can’t seem to find a word for this masterpiece. The first sections were gorgeous the rooms are air-conditioned and that but also the details of every single man in the huge miniature model of Hamburg,Switzerland,Austria and the alps is living. I can visually guess that about 89 percent of all models is movable. Every aspect of the model including underground and above in the sky is shown in full detail. The posters for example are always made in local languages going with the theme.
The most outstanding part for me was the airport (since I am a huge avgeek myself) the details as I can see is stringent to a almost horrible level. The airplanes are just so lively as if they were real. Almost every model plane can taxi by itself and a lot of them can even takeoff and land by them self even with features such as gear-tilt included. There’s also the airbus beluga, Junker 52, Boeing 777-300 ER etc.
I would say that the this place is really really really worth your visit because you can feel the heart of the builders, you can feel that they build for the fun, not for the money!
Please, if you every happened to read this. Go to Hamburg and visit this place. Bucket-list worthy!

It’s beautiful, it’s mesmerizing, you’d have to spend at least two full days there to discover most of the little details. I’ve been here at least 8 times, and I keep finding new things every single time. However, the place is always completely filled with people, no matter what day it is. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing your tickets online at least one week before, to have a chance at getting in at a normal time. Unless of course you want to stand in a queue for 5 hours, not gonna judge that.

We went here as a family and had a very enjoyable time. I recommend you schedule a whole day here. We spent 5 hours here. There are plenty of different countries on view including Germany,Italy, America and Switzerland. If you look closely there are many hidden jokes like the millennium falcon at the airport and Batman and Robin scaling one of the buildings. We also did the virtual reality part of the tour which was amazing. You can also have a 3D picture taken which you can have as a plastic figure. Loved it.

Incredible place with extremely detailed models. The are some awesome experiences there too, like shrink into wonderland were you where a VR headset and you can pretend your in the models. There is a cafeteria with decent food especially for a museum. The gift shop is quite nice and reasonably priced. I would recommend buying tickets in advance as buying at the museum can take awhile, it is conveniently located in the center of Hamburg. The airport and trains are just beautiful, if you took a zoomed in picture someone would have no idea it was a model. Even the hall between sections has some lovely miniature landscapes, and a great view.

1. Charged Phones
2. Bottle of Water
3. Eat good breakfast, so you're full for the day
4. Wear comfortable shoes
5. Bring some nuts with you so you don't have to waste for lunch
6. Take your glasses if you have trouble seeing tint things in distance :)
7. Patience and passion ❤️

Great experience!! Wish we had known how big and nice it was, we would have given ourselves more time. We arrive 23:30, since those were the only tickets available. Pls book well in advance to get a better time! Even at 23:30 it was still amazing. Just wish we had more time, there was so much to see and do. They had buttons for many of the things where something would happen. Also the light changes in intervals from daylight to nighttime and some of the buttons only work in nighttime. Super cool! A must see when in Hamburg, completely worth it.
I recommend you buy tickets 2 days in advance to avoid the waiting queue which can be even 2h long.
It was kind of crowded however we managed to go trough it all, make sure you grab a map at the entrance.
They have a setup where it turns to "night time" and some of the exhibits look better during that short time window.
The airport exhibit was my favorite so pay attention to the landing and take off screen if you are looking for a particular model to see it in action.
Make sure to visit the souvenir shop before you exit as they always have discounts on models.
The entire visit may take arround 3h, even more.

An Enchanting Oasis in the Heart of Berlin
I had the pleasure of visiting the Botanical Garden in Berlin recently, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I stepped through the entrance, I was transported into a world of natural beauty and tranquility.
The garden's extensive collection of plants and flowers from various corners of the globe left me in awe. The well-maintained pathways meandered through lush greenery, offering a feast for the eyes at every turn. Each section of the garden has been thoughtfully organized, allowing visitors to explore different ecosystems and appreciate the diversity of plant life.
One of the highlights of my visit was the incredible Tropical House, which took me on a journey through dense rainforests. The humidity and temperature inside mimicked the authentic environment, instantly transporting me to another continent. It was fascinating to witness giant tropical ferns, vibrant orchids, and exotic palm trees up close. The sense of serenity and wonderment one feels in this space is truly indescribable.
Another feature that I found particularly impressive was the themed gardens within the complex. From the Japanese Garden, with its meticulously arranged rocks and tranquil water features, to the Rose Garden filled with a riot of colors and intoxicating scents, each area had its own unique ambiance. Walking through these themed gardens felt like embarking on a sensory journey, offering a momentary escape from the bustling city.
I must commend the knowledgeable and friendly staff who were ever-present and ready to assist with any inquiries. Their passion for horticulture was evident, as they shared fascinating anecdotes about the plants and their care. It greatly enhanced my overall experience and added an educational element to my visit.
Furthermore, the botanical garden provides ample seating areas and beautifully manicured lawns, perfect for a leisurely picnic or a moment of quiet contemplation. The combination of verdant landscapes, chirping birds, and the fragrance of blossoming flowers created a serene ambiance. It's an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts, families seeking a peaceful outing, or couples looking for a romantic rendezvous amidst nature's marvels.
Lastly, I appreciate the accessibility features offered by the garden. Ramps and smooth pathways ensured easy access for individuals with mobility challenges. The restrooms and eating facilities were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable experience for all.
In conclusion, the Botanical Garden in Berlin is a true gem that should be on every nature lover's must-visit list. The sheer variety of plant species, the thoughtful organization of the gardens, the knowledgeable staff, and the overall serenity of the place make it a haven in the heart of the city. It’s an oasis where one can unwind, find inspiration, and connect with nature in a truly immersive way. Highly recommended!

The garden was close to bus stops which was practical, it was nice to roam the garden even though it was raining, visiting the greenhouses was included in the price of a regular ticket (!), everything was well-maintained, there were free (and pretty clean) bathrooms in the garden and the greenhouses, the staff we talked to was nice, there wasn't too many people anywhere (although that could have been because of the rain) which was appreciated.
It'd be nice if there was more maps and directional signs scattered throughout the botanical garden as it is huge and a bit hard to navigate, and also if there were English names (not just Latin) and English informational signs next to the plants (there were some English signs in the greenhouses but not in the outside garden). Some parts of the garden and greenhouses were closed off, but since it's so vast there, there was so much other stuff to see.
Anyway, would love to come back again! So many parts we didn't get to see yet and I bet it'd be fun to come here again. :)

This is an absolutely stunning place!
Sadly, when we went (17.3.24) there was renovations and construction going on in 80% of the Gardens but the inside of the massive greenhouse was so beautiful and just lovely! I got the tickets online the night before and there was absolutely no queue (partly due to the constructions and the closure of another entrance). If you got the tickets in advance, you just scan them at the entrance and walk in! It's very easy. The greenhouse is also very easy to navigate due to multiple maps. There is a cloakroom which is just a couple of hanging racks which does the job but it is not very secure so I suggest carrying your bag with you! Overall, it was a lovely experience and I can't wait to come back then the entire complex is renovated and ready.

Special place, worth visiting while in Berlin. Impressive collections, huge area; especially interesting are naturally green houses - warm and humid climate with waterfall and calming sounds…

Amazing place. Full ticket is 6 euros, for kids and students it's 3 euros. Totally worth it. Lots of stuff to see inside. A lot of different species. Also you can see some aquariums. The park outside is also amazing. Very big with tons of green and paths.

Unique experience. Sincerely didn't expect so much beauty at one place. It is the biggest collection of trees, plants and flowers so well taking care of. I spent 4-5 hours there and it was worth it.

It was a very pleasant surprise to discover how beatiful and interesting this place can be. Very well maintained and with a wide variety of plants from all over the world, you can easily spend at least 3-4 hours visiting the greenhouses and gardens.

One of my favourite places in Berlin and the perfect place to go and find a slice of paradise in what is already a fantastic city. If you are in Berlin and the sun is shining, you don’t want to miss this.
Flora from all over the world and a variety of wildlife to see.

Well worth a visit to the greenhouses, even in Autumn. Massive, extensive glass houses, like being in the jungle! Beautiful gardens outside, would love to see them in the Spring too. Nice little cafe for hot drinks and eats.

Magnificent! The biggest greenhouse I have ever seen in my life. The plants are well presented by different zones. The collection of cactus is impressive. The building itself is nice. Unfortunately, the Botanic museum is closed for renovation and we have not walked in the garden because of the rain, but the greenhouse itself is worth visiting, and the price of 6 euros is really very moderate for the volume. And it is open on Monday when the majority of museums are closed.

Amazing garden that is currently being restored in many places therefore many areas are still closed (April 2024). Nevertheless you can still enjoy a long walk between the blossoming trees, lakes, watch the ducks and flowers. There is also a restaurant a bit pricy versus the menu but the service and the location are really nice, and they have a good coffee as well and cakes. One of the most beautiful parks in Berlin.

In early April not much is yet happening outside, but the green houses are very interesting and beautiful! They are also quite big, so it's a nice walk inside a warm humid green environment, while it's cold and windy outside )

Freaking love it! Thinking about changing my career now, because working in all floral parts of the world must be amazing and so relaxing.
Pack some snack and a camera and enjoy what the world has to offer. But be careful with the plants! Some are real sensitive and some are even toxic. How amazing is that!

As a plantlover, this is a must visit place in Berlin. The Botanical Garden offers different great green areas to have a walk, greenhouses, and a museum to visit. For me, the highlight is definitely the greenhouses. There are lots of interesting plants inside waiting to be discovered. I really like the cactus area.

Berlin’s Botanic Garden is truly large and diverse with 20 000 different species of plants on 43 hectares. Some of the paths are under construction, but the stroll is nevertheless rewarding. Several clean toilets are available. Very worth the visit even when the weather is bad, thanks to the several greenhouses. They are well maintained and the routes are nicely guided. Although The Botanic Garden is not centrally situated, it is easily reached with U- or S-Bahn. The day ticket costs 6 euros.

One of to do list in Berlin was to go to Christmas Garden. So here I am in Christmas Garden for the first time. Security guards at the main gate were not very friendly but full of attitude. Anyhow It was nice light show and decor is top class. We were thrilled by the beautiful ambience, the magical lights and sound effects, the cozy stands where refreshments were provided. Even it was bit freezing but for us, it was the perfect end of the day. We really enjoyed the light trail in garden. Even at the end, light show at glasshouse was awesome.
Bad thing is after paying very expensive entry fee, you’ll have to pay for the toilet as well. That was totally unfair. Hope next time they’ll arrange things better for basic facilities.

The botanical garden in Berlin is an enchanting oasis boasting an incredible variety of plants in diverse microenvironments. Exploring the expansive greenhouses was a journey through different climates, each displaying a stunning array of flora. Outside, the park surrounding the garden was equally captivating, with a multitude of plant species and majestic trees. We also spotted two foxes! A truly unforgettable botanical experience in the heart of Berlin. 🌿🦊🍺

Oh Boy, where do I start. Unfortunately, the european part and the garden house we're the only Open parts when we visited but with the reduced price of 3€, it was so worth it. It was so amazing to See the different plants and really feel the different climats as they are all represented pretty well. Such an interesting place and No too far away from the Center.
Definitely worth a visit :)

I just love the enormous old-fashioned greenhouses of the botanical garden – probably the safest way to enjoy Australian or tropical forest greenery (considering that there are no snakes or spiders or poisonous ants trying to kill you). You also get to enjoy a mixture of smells and there are a lot of roses.
The botanical garden is currently being renovated, so parts are closed off, but the main attraction (the greenhouses) is open. There are also lockers in there where you can leave your belongings (for a deposit of 1 or 2 euro), what is rather convenient considering green houses aim to simulate warmer climates.
If you’re lucky you can meet a very pathetic local fox during your visit.
2-2.5 hours should be sufficient to view the entire complex, but you can also have a picnic in a designated area if you wish so. There is a cafe and a restaurant, but I did not check them out. The entry is very cheap at reduced renovation prices, €4 euro at normal time and €2 for an evening visit after 5 pm. The biggest annoyance is that there are two exits, and the one closer to the U-Bahn gets closed earlier at 6:30, so keep that in mind.

Nice place where you can spend almost the whole day with your family , friends or maybe alone. It's a large place so please take some food and water which keeps you energetic. Diverse species plants here and there are also several greenhouses and a museum. If you are a plant-lover then go with it. It's a magnificent place. I love the cactus area and also the greenhouse.
Note: Take your student card because they have offers for students.
tabassu — Google review
The greenhouse gardens (glasshouses) alone were well worth the small entrance fee (4€)! It didn't bother me that most of the outdoor gardens are temporarily closed for renovations right now on my visit, since it's the off-season and there isn't much plant-wise to see outside anyway. They are separated by climate zones but also then by country and plant categories. This is the 2nd largest botanical garden in the world, which is noticeable in the large grounds and very extensive and well-laid-out collection of plants from around the world. Impressive! The cacti collection is quite large too.
A lot of the plants from different zones were blooming; they were healthy and well-maintained. There were also smaller houses with begonias, Japanese plants, carnivorous plants, plants and their uses, etc.
Be aware that while there were some signs with interesting information, almost all of them, and all the plant names, are in German (and Latin for the names) only!!
Highly recommended for plant lovers and those who want a little peace and quiet!

Gigantical green houses with countless species of plants. It is divided by climate and geographical areas and they are all mostly interconnected so you can mostly view them without going outside, which is great for a rainy day. The outside park is huge, has some trails and hills full of exotic plants. Entrance tickets are really affordable.
The Zwinger museum features a carillon, porcelain collection and exhibits on historic scientific instruments. The palace is also home to three museums - one dedicated to classical music, one with exhibits on art and history, and the last focused on natural sciences.
The Zwinger is a really beautiful place housing a really nice museum that contains statues and art. It is definitely one of the places you simply cannot miss in Dresden.

The Zwinger complex is incomprehensible until you’ve visited! You have no idea how grand it is until you’re there. We visited the grounds and the Old Masters Picture Gallery. Even though the grounds are getting worked on, the architecture is impressive enough to appreciate its grandeur. We really enjoyed the gallery as well.

Unfortunately, during our visit, the courtyard was being renovated - with the entire thing having been dug up. The buildings are still impressive and the architecture is interesting. It's a huge building with multiply attractions. The place is a combination of a baroque palace, museums, an art gallery, a park, a terrace, with fountains, stairs sculptures.
A beautiful place to discover, learn and relax.. An absolute must see in Dresden!

I cannot put it into words how interesting it was, especially if somebody plays some nice music in the background.
It's also located at the heart of Dresden with very easy accessibility to a lot of restaurants and Frauenkirche.

The fact that something this impressive just casually exists in the center of Dresden is just incredible. Fürstenzug is absolutely a must-visit in this city - luckily, you don’t have to travel out of your way to see it. It is located right in the center of town, near many other famous sights in the city. If you visit in wintertime (like I did), you’ll find half a dozen Christmas markets within 5-10 minutes walking distance from Fürstenzug. It is an amazingly intricate and beautiful mural that puts pretty much any others I’ve ever seen to shame! Check this out next time you’re in Dresden - you will be amazed!

As a woman who recently had the opportunity to admire the "Procession of the Princes" mural, I must say that it was an unforgettable experience. This stunning work of art, stretching over an impressive 102 meters, masterfully captures the history and grandeur of the Saxon rulers. The intricate details and vivid colors of the porcelain tiles create an awe-inspiring visual journey through the centuries. Standing before this magnificent piece, I felt deeply connected to the past and gained a newfound appreciation for the craftsmanship and artistic talent that went into creating such a monumental masterpiece. The "Procession of the Princes" is undoubtedly a must-see for anyone interested in the rich cultural heritage of Saxony.
The Frauenkirche Dresdens rebuilt after World War II is a stunning example of baroque architecture and offers guided tours. Bach played an inaugural organ concert in 1736, and the church dedicates many concerts to his music.

Pravčická Archway, a stunning natural sandstone formation, is a popular scenic site that requires a 5km uphill walk from the paid parking or bus stop. The entrance fee is around 4 EUR and credit cards are accepted. The area offers good amenities and breathtaking views, making it perfect for a sunny day excursion. However, it may not be ideal during windy or rainy weather due to its exposed location.
Very beautiful place, even in winter time, quite easy to reach even for kids. Absolutely amazing view and very interesting geological case, plus you can get a coffee right under the gate. A small gallery, where you can find impressive photos of the place in different seasons of the year is worth of visiting too.

Long uphill walk of about 5km to get there from the paid parking or bus stop. Good condition needed. About 4 EUR to get in (credit card accepted). Good amenities. Still somewhat reasonable prices. Don't buy sugary drinks; the wasps will enjoy it ... You probably not. Stunning views around, so allow for over half an hour once inside to get to each of them and enjoy the view. Great for a sunny day. Likely not for windy days with rain, as the views are really out in the open.

An excellent spot for some walking! The place offers a beautiful nature and the building itself is also interesting. Plus there is a lot of small paths on the top of the hill so a person spends some time there. The entrance ticket to the top of the hill and actually the building costs about 100 Kč so it's more like symbolic price and I gladly paid it to keep the place in a good shape.
If there is normally some restaurant at the place, it was closed. Instead of that, there was a food window outside with the some snacks, but also with warm meals. I appreciated that, since the weather outside was still cold at time of my visit and it was very handy to eat something warm. Another thing that I appreciated was that the menu was both in Czech and German, as the majority of tourists speak at least one of these two languages.
It's real shame that the national park burned down from a big part in the previous year. Fingers crossed that the nature and the trees regenerates over the next few years.

Impressive hike to do specially during the winter. Being reward with the largest natural arch in Europe is certainly worthy the difficulty to park at the beginning of the hike.
The whole hike was pretty stepped to do but nothing extraordinary.
There's a Restaurant at the top, on a very nice building but it closes too soon during winter time, so we couldn't get something to eat. What makes sense because it's pretty difficult to come down at nightfall.
The arch itself is pretty beautiful to see and I advise to go to the highest viewpoint to have a good sight not only of the arch but also of the amazing landscape surrounding you.

This is a very beautiful getaway from Prague / Dresden. Not much visited, because there is very little information abou how to reach there etc. I drove to the base and looked for the shortest walk. My tip: drive to parking Soutěsky. This is almost the last parking before start of the trail. Try driving further and you may save another 500 mtrs. of walking if you find a parking spot on the one of the last parking. All parking have same price of Euro 8.
Total walk from this parking is about 6 Km of which you walk about 2 Km along the highway as there are no parkings directly at the start of trail. . Walk is quiet easy and surrounded by beautiful terrain.
Take plenty of water with you on a sunny day, there are no water streams on the way and you can only buy a refill at the destination. The area was under fire some years ago, so expect no shade.
Plan a day, the place is really beautiful and the walking up alone takes easily about 2 Hrs or more unless you are fighting fit.

The walk to the top was intense, but maybe that's because it was 33 degrees in full sun and we already walked and climbed for 10km before we started this specific trail.
We parked our car at Na Hájenkách (Indiánská vesnička Rosehill) where there is a small free parking place.
Then, we walked to Mezní Můstek and went right, to Divoká Soutěska and bought a ticket for the boat through the river, which took about 18 minutes. During the boat tour, the tour guide will explain things in a humorous way regarding the river area.
Then we walked to Mezná, which is a rather intense continuous climb, and continued to Tři Prameny, the starting point for the trail to Pravčicka Brána.
Its advisable to bring plenty of water in these temperatures and bring sun protection. Our total hike was 12km and took about 4 hours, including breaks. We consumed 2,5L of water each.
When we got back the crossroad Tři Prameny, we took bus line 441 back to our parking spot in Na Hájenkách. To our surprise, the ride was for free!

We visited as part of a hiking tour. The walk up is moderately demanding but the last section would certainly challenge anyone with mobility issues.
It is a long steady climb through a valley of trees devastated by fires in the last few years. As such it feels beautiful but slightly bleak, at least until the end where you climb the steep steps and slopes up to the chateau. Sited alongside the Archway, the chalet style hostelry offers refreshments and toilets. Seating areas overlook the beautiful scenery below and a very short path under the arch exposes you to a breathtaking view from the edge. Another short climb takes you to a viewpoint looking across the arch, much used in postcards and the like.
The walk back down is a bit hard on the knees for those of us of a certain age, but feels easy after the climb up. The weather was good when we visited but I can imagine a strategic inclusion of layers and waterproofs is in order at other times.
A lovely and rewarding hike

Although the animals have rooms that may seem smaller than expected, it's important to remember that this is still a zoo. Visitors can easily spend two hours exploring the various exhibits on display.
Lovely zoo with many interesting animals. The Entry fee is really low. Can recommend planning to visit again this year

We visited this zoo with our 2 kids. The entrance price is very affordable (€5,- for adults) and the zoo itself looks nice with lots of trees.
Many cages are kinda small for the animals and needs renovation.
There are 2 play ereas for the kids. Both are fun and looks neat.

Very nice zoo with special white tigers - the main attraction. Definitely worth visiting while in town. You can spend there like 2 hours. The cats seems to have a smaller rooms that I would expected. That’s actually similar for all animals here - you would think they should have more space but yeah, it’s a zoo 🤷🏼♂️ there is only one restaurant and one cafe so when visiting during weekend the line was ridiculous.
Pavel Bodiš — Google review
Well-maintained zoo, some food stations with fast-food. There are WC, beautiful area in general.
Evgeniia — Google review
Smaller than other Czech zoos, but you can still spent few enjoyable hours there. It seems more oriented to families with little kids since there are multiple playgrounds spread throughout the zoo.
David Luksch — Google review
This is the oldest zoo in Czech republic, and it shows. It's not big like some other zoos, so you can see it all in 2-3 hours. The location is beautiful, with hillside paths, natural stream and the lake. The animals are well kept, even though during the winter many of them are confined to small enclosures or even absent at all.
Roman Kovbasjuk — Google review
The only reason I am giving 3 stars is the fact that animals are in horrible small cages and pens. Animals are looking bored and sad. Specially elephants, which are the most smart and sensitive mammals , I seen the same elephants in the same small yard even after 13 years that's the time when I visited zoo last time. They are still there at same small place, looking very sad, why you don't swipe their yard after few years with some other animal? Just to keep their mind busy, to explore and to be happy ? I have seen 1 elephant repeatly doing one move with head and front legs which is sympton of nervosity and psychical problems . Other one was lions and tigers behind the glass, no grass no space to run or jump on the trees . Yes it's nice to see them, so you keep them on eyes, but behind a glass and such a small place ? We will understand if we don't see them, just let them be more free . They have no privacy no relax just stress . Monkey at photo was also pretty bored, I think if he got some hay or some bedding will be more soft and fun for him to play in it.
Zoo also looked kinda dirty in yards with animals, and stinky a lot more like in other's zoo's. Otherwise I like that zoo, there is a lot of things for kids to do, a lot of animals but I feel sorry for small yards .

When we first found out about the zoo, we didn't expect much from it, since the ticket prices were really low (6€ for adults, 5€ for students!!).
BUT WE WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!! This Zoo is large, we spent 2 ½ hours here and were running out of time by the end!
Very very very nice place, it has so many animals and the terrain and location are really nice. Most of the animals are kept in relatively animal friendly enclosures, there were many baby animals, showing that the animals living there are content.
There are several smaller and bigger playgrounds for children to enjoy, most of the zoo is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Staff is very friendly, even though they do not really speak foreign languages, they will try their best to communicate. I loved it!
Only thing I wished for were more languages on the signs explaining the animals, they were only in Czech but I don't blame them. The animal names were written also in English, German, and another language I can't remember right now.
Overall great experience, I had a truly wonderful day!!!
12th-century church, constructed similarly to Viking longships & moved to this site in 1842.
Historical landmark worth visiting, the square holds a few things to look at and the church is worth visiting inside where a tour is given and information about its origin. It is not free and it costs 2 PLN to walk around the square alone or 10 PLN to also enter the church. The tickets can be bought at the shop near the gate entrance.

Awesome Church ⛪️❤️😍
Beautiful Architecture and engineers have done great wooden work inside. It’s an oldest Church in Poland 🇵🇱 since 12 Century.
I wish , I would visit this beautiful Holy place once again.

We really loved visiting this church. It's definitely worth it to pay to go inside and see all the cool engravings on the wood. Very interesting history! It's also really beautiful to just walk around the church and see the cemetery and sculptures there

Truly amazing place! The architecture of this church is exquisite. I recommend everyone to get a visual feast of all the elements - and definitely do get inside!

Beautiful church located next to Karkonoski nation park. This church was moved from Norway and re-erected in 1842. The entrance price is pretty cheap and will give you access to the church grounds and short audio history. Worth the visit.

We watch a Christmas Carol Concert here. It's beautifully done, small and cozy. It's made of wood without any nails used to build this Church.

The church is very interesting. What we did not like was that there were other buildings very close to it. Also everything is paid, if you want to have a look inside, you must pay, if you want to take pictures, you must pay... Otherwise nice architecture.

Place which should be mandatory to visit. One of few churches built in Scandinavian way. Uniqueezterior and interior. Also, great history behind it. Cemetery next to it a
has some historical tombstones, also of famous Polish poet, Tadeusz Różański

I love this church so much. It’s so gorgeous and I’m genuinely obsessed with how stunning it looks (and how stunning the views are from it).

The best Norse church you can see in Poland! Formerly a church in Norway from early middle ages moved to Karpacz and built again in 19th century. The area is very nice, although packed with tourists and entrance to church is paid. However the adjacent cemetery is really nice and the sights from the hill to the valley and mountains too. A must see when visiting Karpacz.
Oldřich Olaf Poděbradský — Google review
Very nice old wooden church, originally from 12th century Norway, transplanted to Poland, lovely old details remain, cozy ambiance, comfortable place for quiet reflection. The grounds offer a little bit more to see and ponder, one or two memorials, an old graveyard and an excellent panoramic view. Good visit.
Książ Castle, the largest castle in Lower Silesia, is a grand chateau-style complex situated on a hill overlooking the river Pelcznica and part of the Waldenberg mountains. Originally built in 1288 and expanded in the 16th century, it showcases Gothic, Baroque, and Rococo architectural styles. The castle offers guided tours with informative audioguides that seamlessly lead visitors through its rich history and art gallery.
This is a lovely castle, with a lot of history. Much of the interiors are unadorned compared to what they were, but the setting is stunning. It feels like stepping back in time, especially in the fall. There are paths to walk the grounds and access from the road is simple and scenic.

This is a beautiful castle with a lot of history. When you go in and purchase the ticket they give you several options one with the tour of the Underground included and I would recommend going that route as the tour underground is also very good. They will give you an audio guide that will walk you through the whole castle and give you the history and events that transpired through the years. The tour takes about the proximately 2 hours to complete with the audio guide and I like the way they set up their audio guide as you can skip ahead to something that interests you a little bit more which is a nice touch. The audio guide is location based. There is so much to see here and what I especially liked was the turn of the century pictures of everyday life. Some of the places in have amazing views of the surrounding Countryside and of the Immaculate Gardens. The gardens around the castle are just beautiful unfortunately the day I was there it was raining.

Did both the castle and the underground tour. As non-Polish speakers, we're very impressed by the audioguide. Works seamlessly as you walk through the castle and exhibition. Very much intrigued by the family history and a lot of information is provided. We spent hours, so make sure to have enough time if you want to visit other sights as well. Also with the underground tour, we didn't feel left out with the audioguide. All in all a very fun, informative day. Definitely worth a visit!

Amazing place, stunning huge building's perfectly maintained. Best audio guide I've ever had which knew which room you were in and automatically told you what was there, then directed you to the next place. Stunning national stud stables and the palmery. Plus the underground Project Reise tunnels. Food and drink were very reasonable also.

A really historic Castle that has been well maintained. The surrounding area of the Castle is well maintained too. It was great to see the old mines, the Stud Stables & the Palm House aswell. All the staff were helpfull & friendly. The toilets were kept clean & maintained well. The Castle grounds were kept well & there were good directions around the Castle. Overall a good day out for the whole family. 👍👌😁💥

Castle Ksiaz... there are a lot of things which I can write here about this castle. But surely it is just impossible to tell all interesting things about this castle here.... it is much better to open Wiki or other sources and read, there is a lot of interesting information including medieval history, Hitler's "golden trains" and many others. Or you must come, take an audio guide (included into entrance fee) and see & listen.... there are a lot of very interesting stories, there are many unsolved secrets even now. Enjoy the castle, the subterranean, the magical terraces...

Ksiaz Castle in Poland is an awe-inspiring gem! The castle's rich history, stunning architecture, and breathtaking views make it an unforgettable experience. With over 400 rooms and a sprawling 316 hectares of grounds, Ksiaz Castle is a true marvel. Its grandeur and charm captivate visitors, while the surrounding landscape adds to the enchantment. A must-visit destination!

The price of the ticket is worth paying. Huge area to see. They gave an audio guide that automatically switches while you changing different halls. The audio guide is available in a few foreign languages. Parking is overpriced: next to Castle the price is 30 pln, further - 20 pln. And when you enter the castle there is a toilet with an entrance fee - 5 pln, which in my humble opinion should be included in the price of the ticket. Overall it is a great place to spend a day with a family or loved ones.

This is a unique and interesting castle, a must visit - but stay away during public holidays. I had a misfortune to visit during May holidays - and was extremely disappointed. It is a pity that this beautiful historic place does not have a strong advocate to resist showcasing yard furniture as an advertisement in a museum! This place deserves better.

Very stunning castle. Interesting to see how it expanded over the centuries. During second world war germans dig out the tunnels under the castle, no one knows what purpose it was.
Rooms in the castle decorated very nicely. Audio guide was really good, so much history there. We couldn't go to the gardens as it was closed due to being off season though. Definitely recommend visiting.

Peculiar castle vast in size with several different styles blending. Not quite sure if it is worth visiting but for sure intricate

We just visited the castle from outside as we didn't have enough time to go for a tour. There's an individual or combined ticket for castle, palm house and the undergrounds. Car parking is not free after the security guard, unless you're visiting the castle hotel. You can park it in the open parking space before the security guard for free. There is an ice cream shop near the castle which is a necessity in hot summers. Not sure if there's any restaurant though. There's a small vertical sprinkler through which you can go to refresh yourself in hot weather. You can visit Viewpoint too, which is a small walk type trek for 15 minutes. There's a fresh corn stick seller, each for 8 PLN. You can bring park stuff (mats, food, play items etc) also for relaxation. There are a lot of gardens and you can sit anywhere. The place is definitely worth a day trip.

The self-paced tour through the castle was incredible! And we went while they had Christmas decorations, so it was even more beautiful. Recommend the underground tour as well - it was interesting and moving.

I enjoyed this place a lot. Very good destination to spend your weekend. Picturesque hiking routes of different difficulty level, underground tunnels of the third reich. I didn't enjoyed a lot the castle interiors, but from the outside it's probably the most beautiful castle I've ever seen. At the moment they have a very interesting photo exebition of the last chef. And nice cafe inside the castle (unfortunately you can visit it only when you are visiting the castle interiors, when we wanted to have a coffee there the next day after excursion, we were told that we should by ticket to the castle)
Liza N — Google review
A self-paced tour of the castle was amazing! I was lucky to visit right before the Christmas decorations were going to be taken down, so it was twice the awe and pleasure.
Everything is so nicely organised, with the cheerful staff meeting you at the ticket desk, and then - second surpise with the Polish museums on this trip - a cloakroom employee kindly offering me a Ukrainian audio guide. Great thanks to the Castle team!
The exhibitions are a wonderful combination of the family history of the castle owners, of the Polish and world history impacting Ksiąz and its residents, and some terrific works of art.
It is also very efficient to have a "smaller tour" and a "broader tour with the family stories", so that you can choose what to listen to, also in terms of time available.
I listen to everything and loved it.
I learned a lot about the underground of Ksiąz and visited the Palm Garden 5-min drive away from the Castle (included in the ticket), with a huge collection of plants.

We Visited Ksiaz Castle in Mid of May, a very enjoyable and memorable trip. It’s really a Beautiful Castle 🏰❤️
As, I am from Pakistan 🇵🇰 we don’t have such Castle so visiting this place for me was exceptional experience. 😊
Nature reserve with a group of imposing sandstone rock formations for tours & rock climbers.
Absolutely worth visiting. The Rocks are beautiful and the paths are clearly marked and mostly easily accessible even for inexperienced visitors. You can use a paid parking nearby. There are some eateries, gift shops and a free WC at the entrance.
It will take you 15-30 min to go around the lake and 1-1.5h to go the main route (of course depends on your pace).

The feeling was like in a circus with clowns, crazy rules that prevent people from enjoying nature, half-witted grandfathers are running around everywhere and writing fines to people on plain paper, because they have become where they were not allowed 🤦♂️ the entrance has an unjustified price, for this money they do nothing there! If you climb out once a year from your apartment, then this option is for you, all you can do is walk along the path, where they allowed! Nature here 5/5

If you’re looking for a super good hike and an incredible view from the highest point of the Table Mountains, Szczeliniec is the place to go. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this intense of a hike when my friend’s grandmother took us on a visit to Poland (but, to be fair, I’m also pretty out of shape). Within the first five minutes, I thought I was dying and the remaining hike up to the peak was a blur.
Once you recover physically, and scrape up the last remains of your dignity after having a 70+ year old who climbs this trail once a week he’ll drag you up the last 100 or so metres, the view is 100% worthwhile. You overlook the Czech Republic, and Stołowe National Park. There’s also a little chalet up there, where you can grab a drink and snack before making the (much, much easier) descent back to the base.
