Casual beachside resort offering modest wood cabins & apartments, plus an outdoor pool & a bar.
Good location. Plenty to do for the kids. Nice beach. Rented cabin A and it was clean. We were 2 adults and 3 kids and this was spacious enough for us.

So nice place … near to the Ferry station … but the kitchen was so small … I’m talking about camping section .. we was there in July and stay for 1 night .. the kids area very clean and safe
Israa Attar — Google review
We arrived at 3.00 in the night after our ferry and we still got a place.
The camping is not so too nice for tents but more than fine for 1/2 nights!

Went here off season for a diving weekend with OneOcean Norway.
No local facilities were open but the rooms were of good standard, clean and nice beds. Awesome naturedives and wonderful boat captain Carlos took good care of us.

We used the camping with a car and tent.
The stuff is really friendly and helpful. Reception can charge your phone in case you do not have power and can even freeze your stuff.
Prices are really good and normal.
The facilities are not the best, but very good. Free washing machines with new equipment.
Huge and clean beach.
Lots of small wooden cabins and lots of trees. Not many caravans.
Really beautiful!
Bit getting 5 stars because the facilities could be cleaner and fully working.
Spyros Psarras — Google review
There is so much potential, but somehow they fall short. This is especially with the food you can order and overall the quality of the surrounding facilities. Having said that, it's a nice place to visit with the family, the swimming pool is salt water and the beach is shallow and relatively clean. The free Internet worked. I Would have give it 3.5 stars, but 4 is fair.
Kristjan Mar Hauksson — Google review
Lovely location but the campsite it self is overpriced. The ask 20kr. per 4 min shower, when we made a remark the women said this is norway... sorry we traveled 6 weeks throughout Norway and this was the most expensive shower.. We came end of season and understand thatalmost all is closed. But sadly you could see that the facilities weren't cleaned on a daily basis.the campsite is made for regular guest and the overnight visitors are dropped on the "spare" places..
Dirk de Jong — Google review
It was a very nice campsite just heaps to do for children and the elderly. It's very big. staff are nice. Unfortunately the house was very expensive for what you get. Also very outdated house. Furthermore, it was clean and tidy. The shower and toilet is not really convenient.

This park is very good it has allot of different activities to do. It has a big climbing place with many zip lines and you don't have to wait that long to do the activities. You have to wait a while before all the activities are open but its worth the waiting time. (while you are waiting you can do the activities that are open.

Great place to bring your kids for a day of fun. Look at all the minerals from all over the world, let the kids do the quiz with their own map and collect their reward. Go swimming or climb the blow up floating obstacle course, borrow a canoe, a SUP board or a kayak and explore the lake and its small islands. Go climbing or zipline over the lake in the adventure park... Lots do to, see and enjoy. Highly recommended it, we will go back there
Rita Sunde — Google review
We booked a 3-day camping at Mineralparken during low season despite reading lot of negative reviews about the place on internet regarding lack of maintenance, worn out amenities and a park that desperately need an upgrade, thinking that it would not be that bad at all.
We arrived on the camping site and the first thing we needed to do was clean the spot for debris and waste before we set up our tent.
First night we survived even if there was lot of noise from school classes renting the lavvo’s, but this is understandable since it’s not the park fault, this is the teachers not doing their job.
Some of the issues was:
- That the school class left their garbage around the area they stayed, instead of walking apprx 10 meters to put it in the trash container and left the toilets in a horrible condition.
- Sanitation was very very bad and awful. Several toilets were not flushed down after use. They cannot be cleaned 4 times a day as the park responded on a review where this was mentioned. Our child refused to use the toilets since it was so dirty. We always needed to bring our own cleaning equipment to clean the toilet before use. (Hope that Mineralparken will take serious action about sanitation instead of just write it as a respond.)
-According to the internet site, during low season, the Rock Cafe will be closed, but Ralleren Bistro would be open and so would the reception. Since the door was open at Ralleren Bistro, we went in and was told by an employee that they were closed, so we had to go out again, (Despite it says on their internet site that they are open in low season.) The Bistro was open saturday (luckily) and we ordered some snacks and was sitting on some of the tables inside the bistro, and the dirt was all over the place, from the hanging lamps, floor and the ventilation cover was falling. This was disgusting, since some of the dirt was falling from the overhead lamps.
There was no note or anything on display about opening hours. On Saturday we were told that e.g. reception would be open between 10 – 16hrs, but when we was at reception at 1530 it was already closed.
- The playground was well used and desperately need an upgrade, this also goes for the whole park.
- On the camping site, when we arrived there was a waste plastic container (apprx 600ltrs), which was almost full when we arrived. When we checked out, still no one from the park checked or changed the container, the garbage was overflowing. This was also mentioned in reviews on TripAdvisor. Other camping sites we have been on, has 15cbm closed containers with doors for waste, it cannot be difficult to arrange the same for Mineralparken.
There is a big chance that Mineralparken can compete with other parks since it is in a very nice area with fantastic view, mineral exhibition, waterpark, climbing forest. And those are the best assets of the park. The park is also close to Evje city center, 7 min by car.
For us is not worth the money to pay because of the issues. For now, we will not recommend this park due to the condition of the park. Sorry to say, but we are agreeing with most of the negative reviews that is writing about the park.
Uno Aaberg — Google review
Might be fun during the high season, but please don't waste your money on it during the low season. There is nothing to do and 99% of the museum is in Norwegian. Way too expensive for what it is.

What is this place trying to be? Exhibition, theme park, playground, campsite? What's the target group? Be aware that most things cost extra, despite the already high entrance fee. Such a weird place! But the locals seem to love it (and so did our toddler).
Bo Ooo — Google review
We are interested by minerals, and naively we visited this place. The first (bad) surprise is that you have to pay the parking in addition to the visit fee. The second surprise is the price: very expensive, I do not remember exactly but something like 650 NOK (approx 65 euros) for 2 adults. Wow. But hey, now we are there, let pay and see those minerals. There is an exposition of minerals. It is not huge, it it is more or less interesting but anyway it does not worth the visit at this price. In addition, there are a lot of exposed stones in the obscurity because here the people apparently do not replace the bulbs that do no longer work. Are bulbs too expensive for them? In fact we discovered that this "Mineralparken" is also a place with games and toboggans in the water and a kind of lake with a beach for swimming etc. We did not care but we pay for that. We felt like abused by the misleading /unfair marketing about this park. We are interested in minerals, not in toboggan and water games. Very disappointed. Keep your money and spend it elsewhere!

On our roadtrip through Norway I came across this place. We wanted to sleep in a yurt for one night during our trip and Mineralparken had 4 yurts. Although the yurts where actually not available and they only rented rooms because the high season just closed, after a brief phone call Anette of Mineralparken went out of her way to prepare a yurt for us. Thank you Anette!
Our children loved it here and they were allowed to stay longer as it was the off-season. So much fun that our daughter went back the next day again!
Barry Hill — Google review
Well it was quite the experience! At first I was frustrated as there was a lot of messing around with purchasing tickets online rather than at the desk (save 50kr per ticket if you do!), then errors in parking payments and having to get something to display, then getting to the climbing area but needing a paper ticket from a different office just so they can throw it in the bin 2 minutes later... It's a bit odd the first time you go. But... Small negatives aside, the park is fabulous. My wife and son did the junior park which was great and I did the grandpark with a nephew. I was not aware how big this place was! It took us 2 hours pretty much to complete it. It's high, it's awesome and the zip lines are amazing! The course is made up of 6 stages with 4 zip lines crossing back and forth over the river. There are challenging sections and fun sections. Value for money is excellent. Recommended

(Translated by Google) Useless, have experienced at least a dozen times that films in the program are canceled when you arrive and the staff choose to spend hours arguing and abusing the customers instead of being serious. They have no plan and no ability to set up a program and follow it, so you constantly drive tollbooths and are disappointed to find a completely different random film than you wanted to see. And I have many times experienced other customers in the kiosk who experience the same thing as me, so this is a lot of lost sales.
Also a big minus is that the arch does not have free parking and you have to struggle to find a place far away and walk a long way and get a lot of extra trouble.
These problems have meant that I have completely given up and boycotted the non-serious bow and rather choose Lyngdal or Kristiansand cinema.
(Original)

It's more of a ski area, very long distances to the lake, to shopping, and the hiking trails are right in front of the door but very steep. But super quiet, a small stream with a waterfall runs directly through the wildly overgrown garden. And for everyone who needs WiFi and TV, things in the house look rather bad.
Peace and proximity to nature is great. The house is very well equipped.

Great Place to visit. The lighthouse Keeper was friendly and helpful, and able to explain lots of features of the area. The erea was very windy at the time, but that is to be expected because of the exposed nature of the site.

This lighthouse is located in southest part of Norway, and the view from it in nice clear whether is really worth to see. Plan at least 45-60 minutes to spend there, since you need to walk a bit to get to the lighthouse from the parking lot.

A stunning region, being the southernmost part of Norway. However, the cost seems a bit steep for such a compact place, especially with the high entry and parking fees. I'm giving it 4 stars mainly due to the pricey admission (around 12 euros per person).

It is a museum now, and an entrance fee should be paid. A path from the parking lot leads up to the light house. You can get upstairs and enjoy a very beautiful view. Windy! There are also remains of the defence system from the second World War. There is also a small museum, a shop and a good restaurant. We visited everything and it was good. The most astonishing is the view from the light house.
Anna Yuschenko — Google review
Beautiful place with all the rocks and the view from the lighthouse. Possibility to stay with the camper overnight on the parking spot. Around 10 €/camper and 5 €/adult.
Mandy Rabe — Google review
Great place to visit. After paying entry fees of 100 NOK per adult, you can visit all places and exhibitions within the area. Furthermore, I can recommend the small bakery next to the museum area serving nice bread and sweets.
Dennis Grewe — Google review
When leaving the main road to go to Lindesnes fyr, I recommend you do that at Vigeland (the road to the light house is clearly marked with a light house in the roundabout). This route is vey scenic as you drive a long the water, while the other way that take you trough Lyngør was soo long and boring. A free coffee or tea in the coffee shop is included in the coffee shop. There was plenty of free parking available, however I was there outside the main tourist season. The light house is very well kept, and we can climb to the top and enjoy a beautiful view over the ocean and archipelago. I can recommend a visit to this light house at the most southern point if Norway if you are in the area. Generally in Norway I used not to pay for "nature attractions", so I was surprised due to its cost 120 NOK to enter the area. Oh yes, I got one cup of coffee for that price... BUT the rest of the visit was perfect; beautiful view, ocean, exhibition "in the cave", nice people and service. 🤗
SUHAS Dubey — Google review
Beautiful view and you can going around the light house. Lindesnes light house is from 1915 and the old one was from 1822.
With nice weather we could enjoy all the attractions and swimming polls, inside, outside, spar, cold shower, sauna and jacuzzi. The kids loved them all. They have a small cafe where we could buy some easy food, and wardrobes were nice and clean. I really recommend to all families.

Today was totally packed with a line for everything, toilets, showers, changing, bathing, sauna, entry, exit. I would gladly pay more money to be able to swim with the kids without hitting/get hit by other swimmers. This water park is the only one of its kind in the general area.
It has a few different sections and pools, one being deep and slightly colder, with diving boards of different heights, 7 meters being the highest, and a fixed track for swimming along the length of the pool.
At regular times, the staff also deploys a "wipe-out" course, where one can test the luck against gravity and bad balance.
The park also had a speed-slide, going from the very top of the park to the bottom, where one can race for the best lap time.
In the slightly warmer pool, the water gradually gets deeper, making it easy for kids and adults alike to get in. It also features big waves every few hours and a "cave" with a current running around.
There's an outside are with slides and a jacuzzi, where the slides are operational during warmer parts of the year.
Inside, above the "cave" there's another jacuzzi, and for the adults (18+) who wants some R&R, there's a warm-water pool, dimmed lights, a sauna and a steamroom.
There's also a kiosk, where one can get some food, drinks, icecream, etc.
Overall, a pretty okay place to bring the kids.
In the floor above, they also have a gym with a view into the water park and the fjord outside.

Roundtrip of 3,5 hours (we used 3). The trip is around 32km. You will have to turn after 2 hours. I will say that it is better for most people to stop after 1,5 hour and take a nice break along the track and then turn rather than going all the way to the end. The scenery is more or less the same and I saw many was tired, I think their experience would have been better with a break. It is uphill almost all the way to the end so the tour back is really easy. If you bring kids (or passengers) they should have extra clothes, it gets cold in the tunnels.

Friendly staff, easy to find. On Sunday free parking. Pretty expensive attraction (600 NOK for 1 bike). Bit hard to go uphill, downhill fast and the furious!

Great fun. Book to be last if you're not in top physical condition for an 18km cycle ride.

Nice activity to do with friends or family, but unfortually a big part (7 of the 17 km) of the route was not open and we still had to pay the same price. At the end of the route, we had to wait with all the other bikes to start the return.

Awesome dresin bike ride here. If you are ever close to flekkefjord, then you have to take some time to do this if you like alittle adventure. Very nice views and you get the blood pumping alittle bit. It’s a 35 km bike ride. But quite easy as it’s very flat all the way.

What a fantastic experience today. The bikes were amazing. Views were fantastic. It was slight up hill on the way there. I had a teenager who didn't pedal which made it exhausting. But it was worth it for the route down was fantastic and fast. Would definitely recommend it

It was really fun to do, beautiful view of the mountains and the lake. You need to have some strength in your legs, otherwise you might have worsened the experience for others behind you. The bikes are old and my aunt's pedal broke off so she had only 1. But when we reported that it broke off they gave her a choice between a free t-shirt or a mug👍. It was pretty expensive but it's something you need to do.

Nice ride with great view. Too bad only two thirds of the whole track were available so that the most beautiful part of the tour was not accessible. We booked in advance and there was no note on the website. Full price was charged however …
Nice lighthouse and some ww2 bunkers but the main attraction is the unique wetlands with scattered boulders. A nice walk g and biking path of 'vita velo' 15km starts here.

We had the opportunity to see the field covered in flags, many norwegian flags. A great place to visit. There are some fields with animals around that will give children an additional joy. You can also sit and do some bird watching.

Nice place for a walk. Did the short 1.5km official trail from the lighthouse towards the wood patches. It's ok, but not super exciting. That said, after 1.5km, there's a cute little 'port' with multiple coloured houses.

It is a nice place to stop by. Some walking tracks near. The view on the top of the light House is great. I love that cozy feeling all around. There is also info om the lokal bird info. Come to support this place !

Historical light house, with broad view to the see. You can see the old machinery and go uo in the light house.
There is a small art gallery and shop for ice cream, snacks and souveniers. Plenty of parking.
Remember to take a jacket. It is always blowing there!

Very different landscape than you'll find in most other parts of Norway. Flat, and you'll really feel the weather if it's a windy day.

We went to this Husky farm in February with our two kids (5 and 10 year old) and we loved the experience. Our tour included around 25 people and was done entirely in English (as we were several foreigners in the group). The first part included petting the dogs and learning about them. The animals were super friendly, although also stinky! The kids loved chasing them and petting them. After that, the star event was riding the sled. Only 1-2 people can use it at a time, making a big circle and coming back to the starting point. The great part is that my 10 year old was allowed to drive and carry my 5 year old (no parents! 😎), and they had a lot of fun! At the end, the group has some hot tomato soup and crackers. While not a full lunch, it fell great after the cold. The staff was friendly and helpful the entire time. We really recommend the experience!

entertaining, nature oriented, nice day
We went to the husky farm for a team building, before permanent snow was down. We enjoyed anyway clay shooting and a sort of dog sledging with a sort of bicycle, pulled by 2 dogs. We also spent time understanding how the farm works, how they raise dogs, what trips they organize in the winter. We then shared a nice warm time before dinner in which we were presented the history of the place, very interesting and inspiring. We finally had a meal, very very good food ! A very nice activity all in all. Looking forward to coming back in the winter.

This settlement dates back to the 18th century. The caves are even older than the 15th century. The two houses under the large ledge can be visited 24 hours a day.
Access via RV 44 a scenic country road with sometimes views of the coast, but take your time as the road is narrow. Opposite the settlement of Helleren there is still an old transport railway Jøssingfjorden is located on the national road 44 between Flekkefjord and Sokndal. Rv. 44 is narrow and with a lot of curves and it can be difficult to get around with larger vehicles.
The fjord and Helleren with their stories are a must visit. At the viewpoint before starting the descent from the north, you get to the history of the acts of war, where the attack on the German transport ship "Altmark" took place with 299 British POWs bound for Germany. Well, at the bottom of the fjord, you find the story of Helleren.

Lovely place! Very easy to get here, and a very large area to park your car. There are multiple trails to go on in the area if you like hiking. There are also lots of picnic benches for those who want to take a lunch break. The houses themselves are very interesting, however only one of them is open to the public (the red one is closed). Be careful of broken glass, pottery, and sharp rocks.

Månafossen is a magnificent 302-ft. waterfall located in Rogaland, Norway, and is considered one of the top tourist attractions in the area. The hike to reach the waterfall is short but steep, requiring good walking boots and utilizing provided chains for safety. The path can be slippery when wet, so caution is advised. Despite its demanding nature, the hike offers breathtaking views of the waterfall and surrounding scenery.
A short but demanding hike. You can go all the way through to other side and spend the night to the mountain cabin by the river. Amazing scenery on your way to get there and during the whole hike.

The climb up and down was challenging, but well worth it. My nine-year-old son climbed much faster and easier than I did. BUT - I would not risk going there in wet weather and would not recommend it very much. Footwear is also important, trekking boots would be very useful. I was in sneakers - in some places there was not enough fixation of ankles.

The restaurant is a good option for lunch or a snack, although they lack more options for veggies and vegans (most of the options have milk in them). They offer some of the traditional local meals and also salads, sandwiches and cakes. The shop is just impressive! Beautiful candles, crafts, wool, wood, local food specialties, clothing... Worth a stop to take a look at the shop building itself.
Lysefjord is a glacial fjord spanning 25 miles with stunning views of mountains, waterfalls, farmland, and a seal population. Its impressive height of 604 meters has earned it recognition as one of the world's most spectacular viewing points by CNN and Lonely Planet. The fjord's unique shape resembling a protruding tooth is believed to have been formed by ice expansion thousands of years ago.
After visiting many Fjords my favorite one. With a commercial Ferry from Lysebotn to Lauvvik, 30€ 2 people and 1 car, you cross the full Fjord. Dreams views. You see the Preikestolen, Hengjanefossen waterfall and the Lysefjord Bridge.

Amazing tour with the boat !!!!
Me and my daughter we are very pleased
George Lampronikos — Google review
We did a cruise with Rodne for this in mid-April. Suggest to do the Pulpit hike and see it from the top vs the cruise. While the fjord is breathtaking, difficult to appreciate from the cruise. Felt more like a regular ocean cruise. Plus we got a very windy, very cold and rainy weather in mid-April, maybe later might be more enjoyable in sunny weather. The cruise also takes you mostly only towards the start-middle. We also did the Fjord cruise from Gudvangen to Flam, that felt more like a cruise in a fjord.

We went through Lysefjord on a boat cruise from Stavanger. It was very beautiful, and hard to appreciate or envision the height until seeing other boats on the water. It was worth the trip as there were several beautiful sites along the way in addition to the general scenic fjord views.

Nice but over rated. Pulpit rock viewed from the bottom will be a real disappointment. Better to take the hike if you can. The cruise on a fast boat takes 3 hours. Better to go in the morning as the sun hits the rock straight on. We were lucky with a cloudless day in June but be prepared for wet raining cold day.

After my 4th hiking trip to Norway, I have never seen a more stunning spot in Norway as such.
Lysebotn village is very beautifully located in a very picturisque place. You can hike to Peikestolen (Pulpit rock), Flørli 4444 wooden stairs, Kjeragbolten and Kalelli.
You will be rewarded with amazing untouched beauty everywhere.

The lady was super nice, I got a taste test of chocolate bars from her. I think the things I got were very good, although not too outstanding. We only tried the ice cream buffet - and travelled for 45 minutes each way to get here! It's worth it: the flavours are very rich and real, and the array of different ice cream and sorbet flavours is not just the normal selection. For example, Chilli & Pineapple with quite an after-kick. You won't need the sprinkles and toppings - just enjoy the true flavours.

The renowned Pulpit Rock, a flattop cliff towering at 604 meters, is a well-favored destination for mountain hikers due to the panoramic views it provides. Visitors may also take a trip to Lysefjord nearby and relish the picturesque scenes of its surroundings. The Sorland Railway presents an opportunity to traverse varying landscapes such as green valleys and seaside vistas from Stavanger to Oslo multiple times daily, with added sleeping compartments during night travel.
Did this in winter (early march) with no prior hiking experience and loved every minute of it. Make sure you pack water and crampons for the icy bits and you’re set to go. The view is insane.

Not a hike for beginners, as it's quite steep and slippery in sections, but a beautiful landscape. If the rock is in clouds, be sure to go higher, as it is more exposed and may be out of the clouds.

We were there from 8-2 on a weekday. Glad we got there early as it got very busy mid-morning. Brings lots of water and wear good shoes. Views are beautiful and sun is very strong so bring sunscreen. The hike is not easy with big step-ups and uneven terrain.

For a better experience, I'd recommend travelling with a car and arriving before 8am, the earlier the better. If you come after 9am all the tour coaches arrive and you'll be queuing to go up and take photos. Overall it's well worth the hike. It's a moderate hike for Norwegians, I'd say challenging for a UK city dweller.

Do this hike! And pray for good weather. It’s a tough little hike with 1,800 feet elevation gain. It took us 1 hour and 40 minutes to reach the top. After you’ve seen and spent time on the rock, Make sure you go the extra climb above and get pictures. Going down will take much less time, about 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Conditions were not too favorable with 25-35 mph winds in late October nevertheless the less we started our hike just before dawn as the light slowly crept through the trees. It's an amazing hike for all people who have a ''normal ish'' fitness health ;)
Pls follow the suggested rules the local people suggest for your own safety. . Wear normal hiking shoes 🥾 no sneakers 🚫👟 use common sense it's stil a small mountain hike 🏔️ with slippery rocks we have seen lots of people fall
If they suggest taking spikes on the hike for your shoe's hire them if you don't have them yourself. Do it for yourself and the people around you because you won't be up on the mountain yourself ;)
We have done the hike with just the 2 of us mid April the hole you need a guide was for our weather conditions not necessary but ask the base camp or the gear rental
The path was really well maintained past midway the path was starting to get icy 🥶 and snowy ❄️. (Spikes needed!!)
For the rest it had been an amazing experience and if you like it more crowded it's fine to leave a round 09:00ish if not leave earlier whay earlier 😁😅
And pls put your garbage in your jacket till you are back down 🚯 wat would seem like a logic fact by itself but 🤷♂️. . .
Have a good hike! 🏔️🚶🚶♀️🚶♂️

The new beginner hikers can climb here because the difficulty is not too much and they can walk comfortably. There are a lot of people in the middle of the period, having to walk in a line, making it uncomfortable and hot. But at some point, we can walk and push other people forward. I met a lot of old people and small children walking here. But I don't recommend it for people wearing normal shoes as it can cause you to fall due to slippery because I saw some people dressed as if they weren't prepared for climbing and I ended up slipping and having an accident.

My husband and I did this hike today and loved it. We took the early bus (fjord tours) from Stavanger. It left at 8am and we started the hike at 9am, well ahead of some of the organised cruise tours. The weather was kind to us but we were wearing the right clothing. Sturdy walking boots really help as there is a lot of Rocky up hill walking to do. It does help if you have a reasonable level of fitness, if not just take your time, enjoy the views and breathe deep!! There was some icy snowy patches near the top but just watch each step. A little bit scary at the top if you are afraid of heights but I loved it. The views are stunning and well worth it. We were so lucky as we had the rock to ourselves!! Took us 3.5 hrs round trip.
Lynda Elliott — Google review
Due to a changeable weather forecast when we did the walk we ended up going during the busy time. This is not ideal for us as we didn't enjoy the crowd and dodging people while having to watch your footing on the rocky path. We did it easily in three hours and that's even with a sore knee that slowed our descent as the steps are quite big and hard work coming down. The views at the rock are fantastic but overall as a hike it doesn't quite deliver a wow experience.

Only 4 km and this is a pretty chill hike. I would recommend this for people of all ages and fitness levels. The only bad thing about this hike is some people go quite slow and the etiquette is to yield and let faster people through when there is a spot to yield but on this trail lots of people were not courteous and did not attempt to move and just held up a lot of people. Maybe signage would be best to help bring down some of the hikers egos. Anyways nice view at the top, just be careful on the cliffs like any other hike!

Must see attraction near Stavanger. Relatively easy hike (must be fit) from the parking area to the Preikestolen. The views are amazing. There will be lots of tourists up there if you go during the day in the Summer though. If you want to take a picture at the edge of the rock go off season, really early or expect to wait a long time and endure endless narcissists doing yoga poses and Instagram model wannabes.

Wonderful rock formation. We were lucky with the weather and even though initially it was very cloudy it became sunny afterwards and we were able to enjoy the stunning views of the cliffs. The hike to the top is 4km and I would advise to bring hiking shoes for it since it can get slippery. Definitely a recommend for me!
One last thing to note is that the parking there is VERY expensive at 250NOK. It was literally the only pain point of the experience.

Every bit of hike was worth. Simply incredible. Try to start the hike by 9am to avoid crowds and tourist buses. We took 3.5hrs to reach top with small breaks and 1.5hrs to come back.Spend around an hour on top. Total 6hrs. You need average physical stamina

This is a hiking highway, always full of tourists. We went later in the evening and the whole path was still crowded, the place is truly very popular :) There are some very nice views along the way, and the Preikestolen itself is stunning too! The trail is of moderate difficulty, we were even meeting children. I'd recommend checking the weather forecast in advance, as many people mentioned that they had seen nothing just because of bad weather.

Amazing. Went there is late march , almost no people. Such a wonderful place.
Total hike took us 3h

A particularly beautiful mountain. The 2 hour 4 kilometer trail is worth the effort. It is a fairly moderate route for all people. The route up to the top is very beautiful. If you also catch a beautiful day then you have a memory that you can add to the collection of memorable memories.
Awesomely quite place near Egersund. Cycling + small hike. Beautiful view of north sea..!!!

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Theme park
Outdoor amusement park with water & fair rides, climbing games & bumper cars, plus teddy bear show.
Best place to enjoy a day with your family and kids. There are many rides for kids and adults also, some are water rides. So It's better to bring some extra cloths and towels. Food is available inside the park. There are different stalls for chocolate, popcorns, Ice-cream and also get lunch also.
Gloria Swarna Gomes — Google review
Went there for a Christmas crafting day. Unfortunately too crowded everywhere. It was also only open for a brief 3 hours. Lineups in front of all activities. Two special activities were only available with booking at whatever random time you were given. If you weren't present at that very minute, you missed it with no grace. We registered, but missed both of them due to the complicated setup and timing. Very friendly staff. The included "Christmas dinner" was okay with a decent selection of sausage, meatballs, rice porridge and accessories. But we only found this place due to someone who has been there several times telling us about it. It was very poorly advertised. Very many activities which could have been open were closed, and a large area of the park was restricted, leading to dead ends on paths and more crowding. Definitely something where you should consult with someone who has experience in order to catch most events, which we did, and still missed much. We had to pay 81 NOK in parking through Apcoa Flow, which is appalling.

Rides are good, food is absolutely tasteless and heavily overpriced! Better to just bring food! Some of the staff seem bothered by customers but are ok in general.

WORST FOOD EVER.!🤮 I dont recommend buying food here. Specially the burger place. WORST FOOD AND WORST SERVICE. 👎🏻
Ordered chicken burger and gave us beef burger with the name of chicken. We asked this is not chicken and they were arguing with us that it was chicken and then i talked with the chef and then they conformed it was beef. They reffussed to give good service. They teenage people who work there have no maners. 👎🏻😠
Wasted 600kr and 45mins in Kongeparken.
Activities in Kongeparken itself are good. 👍🏻😇 enjoyed the time playing in water and in the air😁

It was fun the kids enjoyed all the rides!👌🤩
Magie Haugeberg — Google review
Ok activities, but a bit small carousels etc for larger kids.
Parking was awful. Parking spots was unmarked. No staff to administrate parking - a lot of cars taking two spaces left little room for us and others who came at same time. Had to park outside of parking spots.
The staff on the activities seemed like they hated it there and did not pay attention. They are supposed to attend to the safety, I suppose, but didn't even look at what was going on.
Food venues was filthy, full of flies and bugs and the floor was sticky. The "food" was expensive and barely hotter than ambient temperature.
I only saw very young staff at 18-20 age all day and they didn't seem to want to be there at all. I would expect someone grown up there to be in charge, but no.
I wonder if Kongeparken has grown content, being the only alternative to choose for people in western Norway, for a day trip. The standards is nowhere to be found.
If you can choose somewhere else to go, please do.
Arne Velle — Google review
Good rides for a variety of age groups, can easily spend the whole day here. The food leaves something to be desired (we had burgers), and prices in the park are steep. Kids had a ton of fun though, so totally worth it! We did this kids bank thing which was very difficult to understand, and the staff were not very good at explaining it, even in Norwegian. Kids get cards and collect points at a selection of rides to get a prize at the end.

We loved the trolleys you could pull your toddler around in. Some parts needed a fresh coat of paint but the whole family had a great time
Ed Johnson — Google review
Great place both for the family and the kids, a perfect family get away place where every age have something or else to enjoy. Build so nicely that it blends so well with the scenic nature. 😊 Very friendly staff who proactively helps everyone with a smile.
I saw the staff continously sanitizing most of the rides like roller coaster seats, supet seats etc after very single ride (I am very impressed !!). Upon enquiry, I was also told that all the attractions are washed 3 times a day. Also there are
50 antibac stations, queue lines with markings so you keep a distanse, plexi glass etc.
Before visiting, I was worried due to the Covid-19. So before going, I had written to the Kongeparken about my concerns and they had replied prompty. I was told that they have developed a safe park operations guideline together with the other parks in Norway and Standard Norge.
Approximately 10 min drive from Sandnes. I love it 😊. I am looking forward to going there again 🤗.0

If you are an adult with a hidden disability you are not very welcome. My friends took me here and we got a fast pass for me but everywhere we went to use it the workers gave us a weird look and didn't look happy or welcoming at all. The Stavanger Cathedral is a beautiful Gothic and Romanesque building with vivid stained glass. It's Norway's oldest cathedral and has a rich history of Christianity. The building has features such as an illuminated Baroque pulpit and a stone displaying Gothic period art. Near the city center, the cathedral has a beautiful view of a small lake.
The Cathedral is nice just that it is now under upgrading. The front facade is over up. Upgrading will be done by 2019. Overall it is a simple cathedral with its own charm.

You can tell it's old (XII century) and very authentic, even if not the grandest you have been to. Some very interesting details inside, such as wooden sculptures and stained glasses.

Very interesting spot. Construction going on when we visited, on the outside facade, but inside still very accessible, although stain glass windows also removed for renovation going on. Worth the small price for admission, just a nice very old church.

Extremely old. Awesome carvings. And loved the fact that while the stained glass windows are being restored they have been replaced by paper designs by local students. Right in the centre so no trouble to find.
The Norwegian Petroleum Museum is an amazing place that explores the history of oil exploration, from drilling to production. The museum has a variety of exhibits, including one on how oil is created and climate change. It's a great place to learn about the importance of petroleum and why so much lies off the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Fantastic museum
I'm usually not a very enthusiastic museum-goer but this museum absolutely won me over. It provides a lot of information in a very visual and playful way.
I loved the reflecting and self-critical aspect. The oil industry is not glorified here but rather rationally explained and climate aspects get highlighted very well.
Would totally recommend also for children.

This is a great museum filled with interesting exhibits and information about the oil industry in Norway. We have visited it 4 times and enjoyed it on all occasions. Our most recent visit was especially enjoyable due to the additional dinosaur exhibition. My boys and I loved it.

Amazing experience of exploring the petrol industry in Norway. Many great interactive "games". I was amazed by the diving "suites" and saddened by the information about accident which happened in 1980. Great place to visit, especially when it's raining. You can easily spend here couple of hours.

One of the best museums we've visited in ages. Lots of interesting things to see plus lots of interactive experiences from dressing up in emergency gear to climbing into escape pods and sitting in control chairs. I think my favourite were the various things you could make go bang!

My third visit here, last time 4-5 years ago. I really appreciate some of improvements, like dinosaurs, to make it more interesting also for kids. Absolutely MUST SEE, when You visit Stavanger!
StewikProductions — Google review
This is a good museum for both children and adults. The models are fantastic. And there's a hologram room that we spent a half hour in easy but could have spent longer. It was just so cool.
The day we attended, there was a theater show and it missed the mark on educational value (the message was mixed too, whether oil had been good or bad for Norway). There is also a large dinosaur portion but none of the dinosaurs on display have anything to do will oil or Norway so it's a little confusing. I understand it as an attraction for kids, but there must be other ways to engage children on oil than just dinosaurs. Oh well, they were cool to look at but I think they detracted from the rest of the museum.
Lindsay Aiello — Google review
It is a unique museum - it tells the story of the city from the perspective of the oil and oil industry, which dominates Stavanger. But it is a tough sell - trying to give a positive spin to the major cause of the climate change is not an easy task for sure. The staff are friendly, exhibits are well done and very informative. It includes interactive exhibits that are cool too. If you have time to spare, it is definitely worth a visit.

Surprisingly interesting, gives a real insight into the history of oil rigs and how it has affected Norway financially. Great indoor kids climbing frame and interactive exhibits, although we had to ask for help the scavenger hunt! 6 year old enjoyed. Big playground out front as well. Playground is free to visit and the toilets inside the museum are accessible without needing a ticket.

Lots of great exhibits with lots of details, but not knowing anything about oil and gas extraction, I sometimes missed a high level overview. Cool dinosaur exhibit too.

Exceptionally well made museum that is definitely worth the admission fee. You can tell they've put effort in making and maintaining it. There's a vast amount of drilling equipment on display, as well as many interactive displays and informative shows on a broad range of topics encompassing environmental conservation efforts and technology. If you're interested how Norway became as wealthy of a country as it is, you'll find all the answers you need here. Strongly recommend it.
Hristo Naydenov — Google review
If you've ever wanted to know what life is like on an oil rig and how it is extracted, this is the place to go. There is also a display about climate change and alternative means of power generation. The escape chute from the oil rig is fun - though maybe best left for the younger generation. It is easy to spend an hour or two and it should interest all ages. There is a small shop, café and toilets.

The brightly colored streets of Ovre Holmegate in Stavanger, Norway is a popular tourist destination with traditional homes painted in vibrant and pastel colors. The street has boutiques, cafes, and pubs, making it a great place to spend a day.

Ovre Holmegate, with its multicolored buildings, offers a colorful note, with plenty shopping opportunities in quaint as well as brand shops, leading one from the town center to the fish market and port. Cool walk.
The historic city center of Gamle Stavanger preserves a collection of wooden cottages from the 18th and 19th centuries. The district was saved from destruction when most of the central areas were modernised after WWII. Guided walks are available, starting at the Tourist Information office.

A quiet city that looks nice and even charming but not at the same spectacular level of other Norwegian wonders. Interesting to note the unusual number of crows everywhere in the urban environment, a feature that seems to be common in northern cities but rather unusual for southern europeans.

The Norwegian Canning Museum in Stavanger is a fascinating museum that covers the history of canning in Norway. It features restored factories, exhibits on the regional canning industry, and films about how this process was done. A nice and cozy place preserved just the way it was from 19th century. The historical canning musuem might sound funny but it’s actually very interesting to see how sardines were being packaged and sold in the local market. Also the technology itself is very fascinating and beholds an interesting historical background. Also, the museum is preserved in the house of one of the farmer and that is kind of special too. The location of museum is right in the city center so, it can be one of the lookout points for people traveling via cruise. Plus they have special discounts for students and senior citizens.

A unique museum that gives you lots of insight into Norway’s history of canning sardines, which lasted for about 100 years. Make sure you follow a tour (free) around the museum because the context the employee provides really brings the history to life (or else you might be a bit confused navigating through the space yourself). Don’t miss the video at the end which shows real footage from the early 1900s!

We got tickets for entry as part of the maritime museum, and had 1hr to fill. But we were pleasantly surprised how good the museum was. The printing part was really informative and very interesting to understand how printing and fishing and canning went together. The canning museum was brilliant and was very hnafs on being set up like a canning factory. Staff were super friendly, and the cafe looked great too.

I have been there today with my partner and we loved it. Loved it all just until right the very end.
It started so smoothly, free entry as students, very kind personnel, amazing looking museum, very entertaining explanations from the personnel. Everything is clean, tidy, and awesomely designed. It is so clever the transition they do, from the origin of calligraphy to the design and printing on the cans. It is about sardines and their labels. But then, at the end, the souvenirs store sells plastic wrapped sardines. It was all about the label, cool labels. So then why the plastic ?

Very good place to learn about history of stavanger.
It was very interesting to know about the life of Norwegians 200 years ago.
There is a guide and we can also dress ourselves like those labourers who worked in the early days. It was fun and we could experience how they worked.
We could see and experience every step in the process from fishing, cleaning, cooking and packing. We could also taste some baked sardines.

The Sverd i Fjell monument, located in the Madla neighbourhood of Stavanger, commemorates a great Viking naval battle that took place some time in the 9th century. The three bronze swords embedded in the rock are 10 meters high and were designed by the sculptor Fritz Roed.
We walked from the port in Stavanger to the ‘Swords in rock’ and it was well worth it.
