Absolutely worth visiting and we came second time. The beach was long and white sanded, although the wind is slightly heavier than the ones inside the bays. The way from the car park to the beach was lovely too, cows and horses onsite to interact with.

Nice place for walk. Lovely clean sand beach. Car spaces. Car park fee £5.
There are toilets and caffe on there. This place is friendly for children and dogs. You can also sit on one of outside picnics tables.
I loved long walk on wild see scenario. Recommend. You can spend here whole day - if weather is dry😊

Stunning beach with the backdrop of the Mourne Mountains
Lovely board walk leading to it, quite long so prepare to possibly carry little ones back out!

Great place to park and have a beach or dune walk. Toilets as well.

Nice wee coffee shop, clean toilets and plenty of parking(I'm a NT member)
The walk down is lovely and there were little stops along the way with (Easter) things for the kids to do. Kids loved running through the dunes, just like I did as a kid. It was very windy on the day we went, but still great fun! Roll on the summer.

Lovely long beach and great inland walks

Beautiful place to visit. Great walks down to beach and what views of the Mournes and the sea. Car park is well laid out, plenty of space and ideal for picnics. Importantly there are public toilets - these are spotlessly clean despite little supervision well done NT.

Loved it ! A long walk on the beach at low tide, and then the Dunes. Easy to do by foot. Great !
Jose Delavega — Google review
The dunes are simply spectacular, what a great nature reserve that is. It is a very nice place for a walk, either alone, with the dog(s), or with the family. For those who are really into walking, why not hit the beach and take a breathtaking walk down to Newcastle? You will be delighted in any case.
Bernard Sanke — Google review
Fantastic walk just before you make it to the beach. It's well kept and it allows dogs. Dogs are to be kept on the leash during the nature walk and owners have been respectful enough to clean up after themselves. Beautiful walk to the beach and beautiful walk on the beach.
Tollymore Forest Park, located 3km west of Newcastle, is a picturesque natural area with numerous walking trails and biking routes that wind along the River Shimna and the northern slopes of Mournes. The park features several Victorian follies, including Clanbrassil Barn designed to look like a church, as well as bridges, grottoes, stepping stones and caves. It also serves as a filming location for Game of Thrones.
Really nice walk around here. Some lovely little paths, wooded areas too. We went on the recent bank holiday and it still felt super secluded and not busy. Busy with bikes off the main trail, but would recommend venturing off.
Oli P — Google review
One of Northern Ireland's most beautiful forest parks, Tollymore have several different paths with many different things to view, It's a rather wonderful place and looks really attractive throughout the year. There's a great caravan/camping site in it, with toilets and showers. The views of the mountains is spectacular. Perfect place to hike or just have a gentle stroll in beautiful surroundings with a variety of marked trails from short, medium or long.
£5 entrance to those in cars, but as a Forest Service park entrance is included in your annual membership, which is currently £40.
Thoroughly enjoyable for a day trip or a short stay. It's close to Newcastle so one could spend half the day here and finish off with a trip to Newcastle beach during the longer summer days. Fantastic option for families. Really can't recommend Tollymore highly enough.

First time here and loved it, was up the drins cycling with a family member and the views were stunning. Then the ride back downhill was just amazing. Will definitely be back

It is a lovely place to walk. Loads of different trails to follow. The dog loved it. The carpark is 5 pounds to stay as long as you wish and there is plenty of carparking spaces.

November provides such a great range of fungi for the relevant enthusiasts to study. Stunning colours and freshness of the forest — which is mixed, but the coniferous area of it is the absolute beauty.
The paths are usually very neat, however, I have not experienced them after a heavy rain.

A beautiful forest park which is situated around 2 miles away from Newcastle city. There are some historical bridged and constructions inside the park. Inside the park there are many rivers and small waterfalls. Also there are 3 Game of Thrones locations in the park. Number of trails are available which you can select according to your interest, which include some trails with high elevated areas and some others with mostly flat. I think the park is more attractive and beautiful in Autumn.
Shakya Bandara — Google review
Great place for a hike or a stroll in beautiful surroundings with a variety of marked trails. I can fully recommend the river trail which is between 4.5km and 6km depending on whether to take the optional extension.
If you are lucky you may spot some wildlife ( came face to face with a stunning deer on a previous visit ). The Shimna river is also known for it's Salmon at the the right time of year.
£5 entrance to those in cars. Also, has camping grounds for those so inclined.
Thoroughly enjoyable for a quick day trip.

Great spot to spend a day (or a weekend!). It has its own microclimate, that reminds a continental one. Some scenic walking routes available, some of them quite long (up to 7 miles). There are entry fees (£5 per car - in 2023).

We loved it, it's great to spend the day.
It's huge, you can take your family, it has easy and more complicated paths.
They give you maps at the entrance, but everything is very well signposted.
It is pet friendly.
I understand that you could also go in a wheelchair, but not to all areas.
It is undoubtedly very beautiful, I would return without hesitation.

An enchanting forest filled with towering trees that offers a mesmerizing escape into nature's lap. Truly a captivating experience. No wonder why the makers of Game of Thrones decided to shoot some sequences here.
Carry your own food and water!
Saujanya S — Google review
I haven't been here in a while, maybe 15 years+ and the campsite isn't in the same place as it used to be but that's a good thing. It's a beautiful location with really interesting walks for those who appreciate nature in all its forms.
The toilets were warm and clean. They showed a few signs of wear and tear but nothing more than you would expect. Staff were helpful and seemed to start their cleaning and maintenance duties early.
Somebody needs to fix the male toilets door though, it sticks open and must be costing them a fortune on heating bills.
The view is amazing from the elevated campsite position and it's almost mystical watching the mountains appear and reappear through the clouds.
The pitch is good flat well kept grass and firm but easy pegged.

We walked through Tollymore Forest Park as part of a Game of Thrones filming locations tour. The park is gorgeous, peaceful and serene. The medieval bridges added so much beauty. A great place to spend a day

If you are on holiday in Northern Ireland and heading to Newcastle there is not a better place to visit than Tullymore Forest. Entrance fee is £5.00 for parking. Note great place to make an adventure day of it. Plenty of walks with various distances to suit all.
I have added some of the photos taken on our walk.
Ivan Close — Google review
Tullymore forest park is nice place for a day out with kids and enjoy the nature. I did walk through river side path and it was really relaxing and nice.
Kids enjoy the time we spent there. I brought kids wellington boots with me so they can jump to the puddles and have fun.

Beautiful park and forest, especially the walks along the river. The play park for children is great with BBQ and picnic benches nearby. Yearly ticket to access the park is brilliant value at only 40 pounds for a car. Definitely a great place to visit for all.

This place is a perfect place for a forest walk close to nature .And a perfect place to capture the foliage at its peak. The time I went was perfect for my autumn photoshoot. The walk along the river gives us a feeling of close to nature.

Visited this magical place on a windy (but lovely) day in October and it was beautiful. We only walked the river trail to Foley bridge and back as we had to keep driving North, but it was spectacular! I think we stopped every five feet 😂 to see the river from a new perspective or touch the moss or ooo and aaah over the trees and vines. The time of year and type of day meant that we only saw maybe five or six people, and otherwise had the place to ourselves. The five pounds to park was worth every penny, there were huge lots (I’m assuming to accommodate high season) and the entire area was just beautiful. Highly recommend.
Bethany Grace — Google review
Must visit place for people who love trails and trekking. There is no entrance fee except a parking fee of a fiver for all day.
NAHNA SHERIN — Google review
5 pounds for a ticket plenty of spaces.
Wonderfull walks ,plenty of different routes.
The cafes were all shut.
The toilets were open and cleaned hand wash hot water hand dryer.
As there was no food you could leave and come back.
On site there is also a camp site for caravans with electric hook up points. The picture of the rubbish was what I found in the woods.
If you go there please put it in the bin not on the floor.

I spent a lot of my time at this place back in 2010 and I must say it's magical but I prefer tollymore forest park to it. It's still amazing with beautiful scenery and walks. The lake is beautiful to walk around and the maze is fun. Great place to relax in nature!

One of the most beautiful parks I have come across. My family liked it so much that we returned 2 days later during our Northern Ireland holiday. There is so much to discover, the garden is amazing with so many different kind of mature trees, all the walks are just beautiful. I hope to return to experience this place in spring time.
Marie G. — Google review
We had a great day here mountain biking and taking in the views. It's very clean and I highly recommend it.
Stephen McElligott — Google review
A large and pleasant Forest Park with plenty of things to do for walkers, families and sports enthusiasts.
The walking trails range from the gentle (the Lakeside Walk) to the strenuous ( Slievenaslat and the Boundary trails). The views from Slievenaslat and from above The Moorish Tower can be spectacular on a clear day and make the effort to get there worthwhile.
Car parking is £5 which is a bit expensive in my opinion although free car parking is available in the town itself. The car park itself is large.
There are lots of picnic benches with toilets nearby.
Overall this place is worth visiting if you are in the area.

Love this forest. Lots of little trails to follow for different abilities. The recent weather has made it even prettier to walk around.

First visit to the Dovecote courtyard since the toilets were refurbed at the end of last season. The hard standing is great considering the heavy rain this Halloween 🎃 weekend although one drain would need to be cleared.
It would be helpful if the space for the caravan was marked clearly as some parked on the number and others didn't, which makes it a little cramped. Still, we will always return. Coffee can in the car park is very welcome.

Place is an absolutely joke paying £95 to fish the place and people think it’s ok to throw a stick in the water right where am fishing for the dogs to jump in dogs running everywhere and not one person working there the only staff I seen was the ones taking your £5 to park after that your on your own would never go back
Seamus O'shea — Google review
Great place to visit if you enjoy being outdoors. Admission is £5 per car and there are no other costs unless you make use of the onsite coffee truck or adventurous activity provider. There are many walking and mountain bike trails within the forest park which suit all abilities. There is also a lake for fishing (you need a permit), a kids playpark and a maze.
Rachel Gilliland — Google review
A really lovely walk with a coffee cart and bathrooms at the start of the trail. The loop walk about the lake takes about 45 mins but there are longer or shorter trails too.
Be careful of the bikes going by, they aren’t always paying attention and could hit someone or an off lead dog. We wouldn’t let ours off the lead here. Too risky.
Car park is £5 per car and always plenty of spaces!

Beautiful big forest Park, very scenic, calming and wonderful for chilling out. Lots of lovely walks, a majestic big lake, fishing allowed, bike trails ,mountain walks and lots of towering trees. The castle is a Christian conference centre now and not accessible but it is a wonderous, hulking stone joy to behold. There's an arboretum not far from the castle and lots of buildings still accessible ,all steeped in history. Fantastic place to explore on a lovely sunny day.

I went away to Carlingford for a night with my school. We had an amazing time and did loads of different activities, but, what made our stay even better was our instructor Alex! He was so enthusiastic, funny and made our games a lot more fun by being creative and energetic. His sense of humour and enthusiasm made everyone wanted to join in.

A great place to take a group. There are a wide range of fun activities to choose from. Our group chose Lazer tag, kayaking and a campfire experience. All of the group enjoyed themselves and want to return again. The food was okay, about what you would expect. The sleeping quarters were clean and well suited for our purposes. The location is fabulous, right in the centre of the town.

Fantastic 2 day trip with a group of 19 x 16 year old girls. Activities were very enjoyable and varied to suit all levels of confidence and ability. Leaders amazing - so engaging for all and made everything fun. Note only 1 shower in dorm rooms - more showers available downstairs though. Exact itinerary and food options were vague on communications. One girl that is gluten free said food was 'amazing' - the best selection and taste she's ever had on a group trip. Food overall was very good and substantial. Would highly recommend - action packed and guaranteed to have happy group comments - some didn't want to go home!

Having a group of people together participating in games can go a numerous different ways on a stag. We were very fortunate to have the. Carlingford adventure center.
Having emailed back and forth for months, they would always follow up quickly with us. They would get back on any questions that we had and gave us everything we needed while we were participating in our events.
The crystal maze was a really fun challenge. We were split into both groups and so the competitive nature really kicked in for our groups. It was a fantastic way for the group to all bond together. Both team leaders who ran us through the session were tremendous. They were kind, laid back and helpful. We understood all tasks that were presented in front of us. We couldn’t ask for two better people.
Would highly recommend the adventure center for any booking or group activity that you have

Had a great time! All the instructors were so lovely specifically one in particular 😉.We went during March so it was kinda rainy but that’s okay! We did kayaking, survivor, laser tag and the high ropes at the skypark.Overall I had a great time, and I will miss all the instructors

Very nice place, no water activities due to rough weather. Food is acceptable, suitable for vegetarians. Accommodation is a bit scuffed, but will get you through the night. I recommended that you don't waste too much time in Skypark and explore other activities.

We really enjoyed the residential in Carlingford, location was great. We really enjoyed the activities and accommodation was perfect for the groups we brought, however, Our girls rooms were located facing a bar and they were not provided with any curtains/blinds which left their room open for people to see in. When staff where told about this no solution was provided so the had to put up a bedsheet. Other than this the staff were great and made our nights stay really enjoyable, Thank you
Michael Lavery — Google review
I went here with my friend not too long ago, the rooms are definitely worse than I was expecting. It’s extremely hot even with the windows open and the shower is very strange as the pressure is very rough. Bed mattresses were not that comfy and the bed pack (which both of us got) had stains and smelled quite badly. I personally have a hard time staying away from my parents and I thought this would be a good opportunity to grow used to being away from them, but we weren’t allowed our phones during the day so I couldn’t contact them a lot since the internet was not good either. The nights were incredibly loud, with other kids screaming, banging on our doors, etc. No staff did ANYTHING about this and it went on for the 5 nights we were there. Eventually it got so bad we had to go to a hotel room as we couldn’t get any sleep since it was so hot, loud, etc. Some of the staff were great and funny plus really friendly, one of them called me a nutjob which is a little informal. The activities are good but they seriously tire you out and you feel terrible the next day. I do appreciate that there are rules and kids will be kids but it’s terrible that everyone can get away with it. Our roommate also screamed until all hours of the night, trying to talk to the boys from our window and nothing was done about this. If you’d like ti go here I recommend just booking a day rather than staying overnight because honestly I could never do this again. I did face some fears of heights which was great but a lot of the aspects were low quality, I hope I don’t come here for a school trip one day because I could never do it again.

Instructors were generally friendly but was rude when canoeing.
Activities : Good variety
Food: Better on day 2 than day 1
Lifts to and from the Skypark were much appreciated.
We needed a 2th instructor for the Skypark as a number of the group did not complete the course.

Went on a Transition Year trip here recently. Was not bad overall: many positives and some negatives. Staff were outstanding. Views were beautiful. My group participated in laser tag, kayaking, nightline and sky park. All of these were fun and amazing experiences. All safety equipment was provided. Rooms were almost like a prison cell but was manageable for a night. There is a no phone policy however, there were times at which one could use their phone. Food was alright. You could go shop for food also. After waking up the next day, we all had to pack up before heading to the sky park. All our belongings were pretty much thrown into storage vans, resulting in some loss and damage. Took a long time to hand the belongings back out to students. Would go again, but not overnight.

My 12yr old son went on an overnight school trip here last week and was nervous before going. We had so much fun learning and laughing our way through the woods. Our instructor Ben was absolutely incredible. He was very knowledgeable, patient, funny and so encouraging. He made sure we had a great day!
Can't recommend Ben and the centre enough. A great way to learn something new and fun while spending time with some good friends. Can't wait to return!

Yet to get a refund for the change of kayaking to sky park on the day due to weather. Understandable that kayaking couldn’t go ahead but no refund was made to accommodate the significant difference in price, we did not get what we paid for and this was for all 12 members of my party. Would not recommend, not reliable. We were originally promised a refund of the difference however they have continued to ignore our communication since the visit

we brought a women's group to the Carlingford A.C for our second visit this year, the first was the high ropes and zip line , incredible , we all enjoyed every minute of it, scared out of our wits but, fantastic.
On Friday last it was pouring rain, and we had the best time, we laughed all the way through the crystal maze and other activities, such as axe throwing, spear throwing .
it really is full of adventure for any age, we also had lunch which was very tasty burgers and chips with coleslaw, bread and butter and a mug o T..

We were a hen group of 12 in July 2023. We had booked kayaking months in advance., unfortunately on the day the sea was too choppy so we were offered access to their sister company Skypark. The Skypark is considerably cheaper than the kayaking we booked. After several phone calls and emails, and promises from the manager of a refund on the price difference they have not followed through.

Great day out - I am a coach on an under 12s GAA team - myself and the other coaches brought 24 of our girls to Carlingford Adventure Centre for a Saturday morning out.
Over 3 hours, the girls had a great time on the Ziplines and Walkways. The aim of the trip was to have them all do an activity as a group and CAC was super for this. Great facilities, great staff and a great day out. Topped off by a quality takeaway from McFeeleys, the girls loved it.

The Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre, situated in the historic Oldbridge House, provides an immersive experience delving into the pivotal battle between King James II and William III. The center offers a captivating reenactment of the battle, picturesque gardens to explore, and a restored 18th century house. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments at the on-site cafe.
Great place for a walk, be it short or long, you can also walk from Drogheda to here using the boyne walkway, it's about a 40min walk. Paths at the park can get a bit mucky at times but well worth it. Good sized car park with toilet facilities. There is also a fantastic cafe in the grounds of the walled garden.

All year round this is an awesome space to visit. Meander down from Drogheda via the gorgeous Ramparts walkway and end up in the visitor centre, it's about a 5km walk but level all the way and well maintained. Stunning cafe to recharge and really well organised and hosted events. Loads of history in the area and the centre is excellently maintain and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The pop up market had lovely stalls and divine food from the Boyne Valley. Well worth the visit!

My visit to the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Center was truly memorable. The center not only offers insightful exhibitions about the historical significance of the site but also provides a serene escape with its beautiful gardens and scenic walking paths. The cafe provided a delightful culinary experience, making it the perfect spot to relax and recharge after exploring the exhibits. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Center for anyone seeking a blend of history, nature, and relaxation.

The grounds are beautifully kept. It is wonderful for people to find an activity or just to get time away. The day we visited we had perfect blue skies.
The visitor centre is decent but I would like to see more there and for it to be more interactive. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Great place for a walk in nature. Free to walk in the field where the battle took place as well as the walled garden of the house. A visit inside the house itself however has a small fee (5 euro for adults, 3 for kids, and 4 for seniors). Parking is free. There are 2 bathroom facilities, one at the parking lot and the other at the cafe at the walled garden. The one at the cafe is much nicer. Dogs are allowed in the field but not allowed in the walled garden (cats, however, seem to be allowed as there was one asking for a scratch when I was there).

Lovely place to walk around. Steeped in history. Nice and relaxing and if your into plant and an area for a nice picnic a good place to go. The museum and heritage and historic history of the the battle of the Boyne was very good and informative.

Oldbridge House, Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre, Drogheda, Co. Meath, Ireland
Newgrange is a prehistoric monument featuring a mound and chambers, as well as an interpretive visitor center. Its round white stone walls stretch 80 meters in diameter and stand 13 meters high with a grass dome on top, giving it an eerie futuristic appearance. Built around 3200 BC, this impressive passage tomb predates the pyramids of Egypt by six centuries and was likely designed to act as a calendar based on its precise alignment with the sun during the winter solstice.
We had a lovely tour around Newgrange but we're unable to go into the Monuments due to Covid which was a pity, but still amazing to be able to see the dedication if the craftsmen who not only built them, but also restored it.
It was a lively introduction by our guide to the Spirals and also the stories behind how the monuments came about.
We were there on a beautiful day and had the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and wonderful scenery.
Recommended visit for families especially if the Monuments are all open for a visit.

We went to New Grange on a Saturday from Dublin for a day trip as it’s only around 1.5 hours away. The tickets to see this place was free although you have to book them online and there are limited tours. We opted for an afternoon tour. I think there are a few tours every few hours. Once you reach Newgrange, they arrange another vehicle to take you the actual monument. Now this place is ancient and dating almost around 4000years ago. There was a person/tour guide who was explaining the history of New Grange. You can only see the Winter solstice on a lottery basis which is pretty cool. Once the tour ended we went to the museum. There is also free parking and a cafe at the premises. Overall a fantastic day trip and a must visit place!

Amazing place. We missed to book tickets to get inside tomb so had to take the shuttle tour and museum. With the shuttle we can get an outside view of the tomb. Our tour guide Siobhan was lovely explained the history behind it and how it might have made use in the past. It also happens to be one of the UNESCO world heritage site. Pleasant sceneries and they had nice museum where they have replica of the portion of the tomb. Must visit place ;) N.B OPW priced the tickets reasonably but the cafeteria inside the new grange is really expensive.

A must visit when in Ireland.
To enter a tomb circa 3200BC and to be able to take the guided tour where you enter the passage tomb and experience what the winter solstice lighting inside would be like was emotional.
The drive and dedication to make such a place over 5000 years ago. Wonderful experience.

Amazing experience where you can see and touch stone markings made by someone over 5000 years ago. The tour guides are very nice. You get an explanation and a tour inside the tomb (you can't take pictures inside) and then you can explore the outside on your own.

Really good! Good tour guides, and the monument is cool. It is however a tight squeeze on the inside of the Newgrange, so we aware of that if you’re a bigger person. The walks around the area is easy.

Spectacular history! Great guides. Tour ventures to both Knowth and Newgrange sites (pics from both). Make sure you reserve a bus ticket ahead of time! It’s the only way to see this site up close! So worth it.

Coolest Neolithic monument ever!! Newgrange is beautiful and the museum center was incredible. All staff was very kind, and after a relaxing short bus ride out to the site we got to go into one of the passage tombs and see the only triple spirals in the entire world! We bought tickets in advance.

An amazing experience to see such ancient history. The visitor centre is well put together and extremely informative, and the tour guides at each site stop were knowledgeable and friendly, always keen to answer questions. Highly recommend! (NB: if you visit in winter, most of the visit it’s out doors and it can get cold)

A must must-go place in this beloved little island. It took me 7 years to get there, fool!
The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable, a plus to the place. Lovely soup to enjoy between visits.

Newgrange. I can't believe this amazing neolithic monument built circa 3200 bc. At least 1000years before The Great Pyramid at Giza. Is only one hours drive from Dublin, and I haven't been to visit sooner. This burial chamber has so much in common with the pyramids and the burial of "kings"is mind blowing. Anyone with an interest in ancient history will have to see these monuments.
It is a fabulous day's excursion. To be able to walk inside this sacred place. Also demonstration of what occurs on the winter solstice when the sun enters the chamber.
Wish I could have scored it 6 stars.

A truly wonderful experience. The guided tour was very informative, and the experience of being inside this 5000-year-old neolithic monument was breathtaking. You somehow feel that you become a part of a very special place in human civilisation. The exhibition is very creatively designed and answers all the questions one may have about this place, and the cafeteria and an observation deck are good add-ons. The staff at the reception was very nice and somehow arranged for us a tour though we didn't book online and almost exited the place to go back home. They surely saved the day for us, and just to make it extra special, they gave it as a compliment. Completely blown away by their kind gesture 🙏. Will surely come back again, and with pre-book tickets this time 😀

Excellent tour of both Knowth and Newgrange. Guides were very well informed and professional, so interesting. A must see if visiting Dublin. We were lucky there was room on next tour , wait of 30 mins, but definitely pre booking is recommended especially in season. Visitors centre extremely informative with replica of inside mound. You cannot take photos inside Newgrange.

I have been wanting to see New Newgrange for years! I finally made it, and it was everything, and then some. A must-see! A little secret, if you walk down to the public toilets, there's a coble stone wall you can stand on and get a full panoramic shot. Tour guides fail to tell you this.

A lovely walk and then bus ride up to the site.
Brú na Bóinne, located in the Boyne Valley of Ireland, is a well-known prehistoric site featuring 3 neolithic passage tombs and 90 additional monuments. The burial mounds, including Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, are around 5,000 years old and have been fully excavated for visitors to explore. Newgrange stands out with its carved granite boulders and white quartz face.
Great tour. The docents were knowledgeable and very engaging and know the history well. Knowth was an exceptional experience. Visitor Centre really well done, efficient, clean and memorable. Tour very good value for money to see such extraordinarily special place.

Fantastic archeological site! This is an UNESCO heritage site and the guides were awesome. The inside of Newgrange was amazing and the only other place, I've been, like it were the Great Pyramids of Giza. A major difference here is its much older than the pyramids dating back to the neolithic era. Adults and children all learned a bit and enjoyed. The carvings are impressive and it was impressive how old they are.

A great experience even having caught the tail of hurricane Agnes. Not even 80 kph wind gusts and stinging rain stopped our guides who forged ahead anyway. One thing’s for sure—the Irish can weather a storm! The history, culture and the tombs themselves are amazing. Our guide, Lisa, was particularly good at sparking our imaginations and closing the time gap between us and our ancient ancestors. The center was very nice and a welcome respite from the weather. The best ham and cheese sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. Of course, Irish butter instead of mayonnaise! The Boyne Valley and River—scenic delights. Even caught a rainbow. Definitely, a must see experience.

Lovely to be able to walk in and see the craftsmanship on the interior. I’m sure it’s spectacular to see on the winter solstice. But they do a mock up of that for you with the lights off and then the sun rising. They give you a lot of history so there’s really no time to look around on the outside. The buses are very timely.

Highly recommend scheduling your trip in advance, but so worth it. We started at Knowth, and our guide was knowledgeable, funny and overall excellent. I believe his name was Kiernan (he just found out he is from royalty). It is incredibly scenic and fascinating. There looks to be a lunar calendar etched in to the stone, from 5000+ years ago. Newgrange is incredible. Will say- if you are claustrophobic, or are on the bigger side (i am 6’3, 250) be prepared to be scraping along the walls as you go to the chamber. They simulate what happens on the winter solstice. It is awe inspiring. Throw in the river Boyne and the story of Finn McCool…and all the sheep- one of the best days ever, not just of the trip.

Great example of a mostly complete neolithic site dating from at least 3500 BC. Our tour guide at the site, Aegnus, was amazing. You could really tell he genuinely loved the material and was excited to present it.
Additionally, the visitors center was excellent. The material presented in the exhibition was very much a information gathering before the trip to the site. The way they displayed the info was just right - not too technical nor too simple.

Amazing place, worth to visit. You are traveling from tourist center to Knoth and Newgrange by bus. In both places guides were great. Better reserve tickets earlier, I was alone and lucky that they had 1 place for me in the bus. Tours for every hour were fully booked that day and it was not even weekend.
Ania Dziemian — Google review
Very interesting historical tour of more than 7000 years in the past. Good price (€10 per adult) for the "sister" version of the larger Newgrange site. The exhibition was fun as it immerses you into the lifestyle and the foot path of the neolithic population. The guided tour lasted for 30 minutes with some archeological descriptions together with theoretical stories opening to your own interpretations. You can then walk the site at your own pace for about 15 minutes and watch a video.

Great experience, especially being able to go inside the monument. The guides are great and you can tell that they are very passionate about it. It's amazing how these structures are still there after 5000 years.
Book at least a month in advance. Tickets sell very fast. You go there from the visitor centre and a bus takes you there at the time you booked.

Dundalk Stadium is a venue that accommodates horse and dog racing events. It features multiple bars, restaurant options, and meeting spaces. Welcomed in with a mulled wine reception, our Friday night at the Dundalk Stadium was fantastic. Food was very good, whilst the staff were friendly and accommodating. The overall atmosphere was extremely lively, whilst the races themselves provided that extra element of excitement and entertainment for the night. The only negative element from our experience was the table being too squeezed up to the wall on one side. Half our party were affected by this lack of space. More room for Table 67! Overall, this was an absolutely memorable experience and will be returning here soon

The Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum is housed in a magnificent 18th-century public building and offers a display of local history, particularly the linen industry. The Island Arts Centre at Lagan Valley Island provides various artistic activities such as classes, workshops, exhibitions, and live performances in its Studio Theatre or Performance Hall. One can explore the intriguing journey of converting flax into fabric and gain a newfound appreciation for linen clothing.
Visited the museum last week and found an Egyptian Exhibition was on ,very interesting and well laid out . The Linen displays were well laid out with a full documented history of mills in the area. There was working looms and card cutting which the young lady described and gave us a demonstration of how they worked

A nice museum with exhibitions showing the history of Lisburn and also everything related to linen manufacturing starting from the flax plant and ending with the finished products, with live demonstrations by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Free admissions and well worth a visit with your family.

I went to see a painting but immediately became engrossed in the linen exhibits. Timothy demonstrated the spinning wheel and answered more questions than I would have expected to have, even researching information when the opportunity arose.
My understanding of the next stage was then refreshed by Alison who patiently took me through the basics of weaving, damask design, making punch cards...and the mechanics of the different looms...before providing a demonstration. Wonderful. Thank you both.

I’m a lover of textiles and learning about the process of making the product from start to finish and learning about the history. My husband and I ended up at the Irish Linen Centre on a spur of the moment decision and it was so quaint and lovely. We spoke to Angus and another gentleman (can’t remember his name, only that he hails from Wales) and both were so knowledgeable and personable. We also had a wonderful chat with a lady who taught us how the looms worked. Super bummed that they were under maintenance so we couldn’t see them at work, BUT she was so thorough in explaining that I didn’t mind. Loved popping in and learning about linen and the history of this amazing fabric!

Not wildly exciting but it was interesting to see the history of linen and the process of converting flax into fabric. We were fortuitously there when a school group was doing a guided tour and demonstration so tagged along with them. The demo on the flax gave me a new appreciation for the process to produce the linen clothes I enjoy wearing.

Spending an afternoon at the Ulster Aviation Society was an absolute delight for our family! From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were immersed in the rich history of aviation. The museum boasts an impressive collection of aircraft and exhibits that showcase the evolution of aviation in Northern Ireland.
One of the highlights of our visit was meeting the guide, Ray. His dedication to the museum and his profound knowledge of aviation history added a whole new dimension to our experience. Ray's passion was infectious, and his anecdotes truly brought the exhibits to life.
Our family was thoroughly impressed by the interactive displays and hands-on activities available throughout the museum. It made learning about aviation history fun and engaging for both the kids and adults alike.
One aspect that particularly touched us was the memorial chamber dedicated to Polish aviators. It was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by brave individuals from around the world in the name of aviation.
Overall, our visit to the Ulster Aviation Society exceeded all expectations. It's a must-visit destination for anyone with an interest in aviation history, and a perfect outing for families looking to spend quality time together. We left feeling enriched by the experience and with a newfound appreciation for the world of aviation.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Something that a museum cannot offer. This place allows you to see, feel and touch the various aircraft. Couldn't recommend highly enough. We had a tour by Ricci who was extremely knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humour also. Kept everything light hearted whilst learning so much. Thank you to Ricci, and to all volunteers who keep these aircraft preserved in this state. These amazing people give up their time to do this. Although there is no cost, I thought I would donate more than the average price of a museum visit, as this was far better.

This aviation museum was truly an unexpected jewel. Booking ahead is essential, and be prepared for a guided tour of the extensive exhibits that will likely last about two hours.
Together with my own wife, I visited with two pre-teens and their parents. All of our party thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and felt that the information provided by our extremely knowledgeable guide was given at a level that all of our party could relate with.
The exhibits are drawn mainly from aircraft that have had a connection with the island of Ireland, and principally Northern Ireland. Although there is a lot more than just aircraft to be seen in this museum.
If you have an interest in aviation, this is a museum that you could quite happily make further visits.

The Boulevard outlets on the M1 at Banbridge are to be described as fantastic. Usually in this type of shopping arrangement, there are some items with significant reductions to draw the consumer in, and others items with lesser reductions. But l must observe that, with a few exceptions, most pricing here is well reduced.
The outlets themselves are well layed out with clean, well maintained toilets that are easily accessible. The walkway is also mostly covered allowing the prospective customer an unusually good degree of comfort.
There is also now a Tesco extra, Range plus other new stores which are slightly removed from the main park to allay congestion.
This is also my usual stop off for refuelling as it is usually the cheapest along the route. And there is reasonably good coffee in the garage if in a hurry. Otherwise there is a Starbucks and a Costa.

Items sold in the home and bargain shop are top-notch and 👌 at very pocket friendly prices.
There are restrooms and public toilets 🚻 for customer use.

I love your crisps by the way and they're really nice. My favourite flavour is cheese and onion.
I remember I tried Tayto (Northern Ireland known as the North as I refer to) for the first time while going on a day trip to Belfast with my father in summer 2009 and I thought it tasted great. I think it has a very similar taste to its counterpart in the Republic.
Anyway keep up the good business.

Our very lovely guide on 10-04-2019 was super knowledgeable about the production from start to finish (a proper factory graduate, not just somebody hired to carry out tours!). The tour itself was generous in details and the time given, and it was lovely to sample the finished goods hot off the production line! Everybody loves a really nice crisp and as people who know, know, there's no-one better that 'Tayto' for crisps, so whether you're a local or have come a long way, we could not recommend a visit to see the action at Ulster's famous 'Tayto Castle' any more highly!

Does anyone else out there in crisp eating land find tayto multi pack cheese
& onion crisps devoid of Flavour and it's also a very hit & miss affair with their smoky bacon ... one packet might have a little flavouring and another none at all ... if (as TATO says) the secret's in the Flavour ... then one can only deduce the 'secret' must have escaped some time ago ... along with those responsible for administering flavouring !! ... Solution for TATO ..... just make all your crisps PLAIN ....... very few will notice the difference!! Have a nice day.

OK its a factory...starts with potatoes....how exciting can that be...lol...the kids loved it and I enjoyed seeing a production facility, home grown and exporting.
One point I would make....outside an Enter Here sign above the little door at the bottom of the steps would be useful, press the intercom button and listen for the door being unlatched...push it and off you go. Parking is on the street leading to this door..not a problem for us on our day.
Highly recommended and the free crisps were a bonus.

Went on a tour of the factory yesterday, Becks was our tour guide. Very informative, interesting tour with samples of freshly baked and fried crisps, absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this tour. Trying to talk my cousins into going, hopefully I get to tag along for another tour and sampling.
Caitlin Allen — Google review
Tasty crisps are made here, and they do factory tours. We booked online through the Tayto website in advance, and when we arrived we were the only 2 people (out of a possible 45). Mr Tayto still came to see us, and we had a very personal tour with our guide Krystina. First she gave use a history lesson, and some lesser known insights around the same flavours being different, then answered all our questions (including about the North - South Tayto arrangement). The tour of the factory itself was an interesting and enjoyable experience, with aprons full of crisps, and our heads full of knowledge.

Longtime gardens offering scenic paths for walking & cycling, plus an art gallery & a coffee shop.
Antrim Castle Grounds are beautiful and bring back many happy childhood memories for me as I spent a lot of time here when young. Well laid out and dog friendly and convenient to the lough, the town and the coffee shop in the courtyard. So glad the hill has been reopened because the view from the top is great. The spiral path up the hill, known to my sister and me as the Walnut Whip, is great fun for children and dogs alike!

Garden shuts at 5pm .we thought in for coffee no such luck.could still walk around the rest of area parterre, bridges, along river which was tremendous in full spate. Wonder to see,no squirrels today a few birds great carvings in wood very ornamental .A recommended place to visit.

We had some time to kill whilst waiting for our flight home. Decided to go to the Antrim Castle grounds. We had no idea what to expect but we're really pleased that we went . The gardens are beautiful and you have to appreciate the work that goes on to get such a huge area to look as good as it does. We visited the refurbished stable tearooms and shop. The shop was full of crafts and the young lady behind the counter was so pleasant and helpful.
We decided to hire a cycle carriage for four. So relaxing and for £7.50 for half an hour, an inexpensive way to get around the grounds. Thanks to the staff and all the gardeners for their efforts. I will definitely tell my friends to put it on their agenda, should they visit the area in future.

Popped by on route to airport. What a lovely spot to walk around and take in the beautiful gardens and historic buildings. Loved the little fairy houses and quirky pieces added to the trees. And the jewel in the crown was the squirrel!! So lovely to see springing from branch to branch! Will call by another time and enjoy some coffee in the cafe.

Amazing place with things for everyone - nice walks, river with swans and ducks, artsy displays, sensory garden, beautiful flowers, cafe to enjoy books and a cup of coffee, ad of course lots of squirrels roaming about in the forest !! A cool place to spend a spring afternoon here with your family.

First time visitor and it was amazing... So much to see and do. Beautiful cafe where you can sit inside or out in the courtyard like we did. And the Platinum Jubilee garden is small but it plays music to which some of the flowers move just amazing. Will definitely be back

Fabulous gardens, café museum exhibitions and the Platinum Jubilee Clockwork Garden was a joy to behold. And a bit of a giggle too. Disabled accessibility throughout the parkland and accessible toilets facilities too nearby to the café. I would go back again.

REALLY NICE GARDENS, EVEN IN WINTER!
Even when it's cold, it 's a lovely park to explore. Clean, quiet and well kept - this is definitely a place to explore if you have a spare afternoon here in Antrim. Best part is the floral gardens and the motte that spirals around to the top.
Overall, if you want a nice park to walk the dog or see some flowers, this comes recommended.

Very popular place to visit. From the drive up to the main building, walking through the courtyard and gardens it opens up onto a beautiful park. Dog friendly play areas you can enjoy great walkways and when done enjoy a coffee at the Courtyard cafe.

Great walks around the motte and the castle ruins, alongside the 6 Mile water. The paths are well surfaced and ground it mostly flat so great for an old hop a long like me.
Clatworthy House do a decent lunch with outdoor and indoor seating and I was not unhappy with the price.
The Jubilee Clockwprk Garden was lovely and the grandchildren loved the dancing trees.
Good car parking and entry is FREE.

Went to see Antrim Enchanted Christmas Lights. Very good display and plenty to do for children. Tickets priced at £20. There was park and ride at Junction One.
Fantastic visit and talk. My nephew told the gentleman the barn owl was my favourite bird of prey and we got to both hold him. Very friendly people there and they all volunteer their time. My nephew was over the moon to receive a feather off Griff the golden Eagle, he only gets 2 feathers a year and sonny got one !!!! Made his day. I got a barn owl feather aswell which is lovely.
If your in the area please go along to visit and support them with their brilliant conservation work

A nice display of not just owls but also birds of prey (falcons / eagles), even hens and ducks, and some reptiles as well. Don't forget to visit the shop at the end as some of the animals on display are tucked inside. Well worth a visit for those interested in birds.
Alan Hongkonger — Google review
I had a quick visit last weekend and will definitely be back soon not only to see the birds again but also to learn more.
The birds were just amazing and some quite comical too.
Although the birds are in enclosures, they are outdoors and you get great views of them. The place is in a good wee spot.
It should be on every family's list of places to go see, for sure. Wish I had found it sooner.
Keep up the great work folks and thank you for caring for these creatures!
Michael Lyke — Google review
The most amazing place for lovers of Owls and birds of prey. Mike and his volunteers have such passion and love for the beautiful creatures in their care, it is inspiring. Me and my family spent mothers day here and had a brilliant experience. The team at World of Owls are doing a brilliant job with no help from outside sources, they have been hit hard with restrictions due to Covid and deserve help and support. Highly recommended for children of all ages and animal lovers of all ages.

A brilliant experience seeing the owls and other birds. Very natural looking for the animals nothing too fancy. The staff was amazing with my little girl, had so much time for her and let us interact with one of the owls.

Mike was wonderful very knowledgable loved listening to him, we got to interact with an owl and eagle (I forget there names) but all and all great experience and the all the birds are great! I always recommend this place as it’s run by donations and it’s just brilliant thanks for having us and taking the time to speak with us will be back again,

Visited on the first day of opening for 2023 😊
We really enjoyed our time here and it's great to see that they have been able to rescue and care for birds which have suffered neglect and poor conditions prior to rescue.
The owls, eagles, birds of prey, raven and other animals were lovely to see!
Yes, the facilities, paths, fences etc could use a little TLC however as I've seen the owners state, they have suffered years of lost revenue due to COVID, and they've still been able to keep the birds cared for and fed, which is the main and most important thing 😊 Hopefully, within the coming months and years, visitor numbers will recover and the centre can then work on the TCL, however in the mean time it should be our responsibility to visit, donate, support the place, enjoy seeing these beautiful birds and help the place continue the important work they're doing! 🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉
Darren MacRae — Google review
Had a lovely visit to the world of owls. Was unsure what to expect or how much we’d get to see but was pleasantly surprised. Saw loads of birds of prey up close for a modest price of £7 worth a visit if you’re considering it, right in the forest if you want to go for a walk after.
Manon Thomas — Google review
Amazing place full of magical and beautiful birds and other beauties. Loads of these birds are rescues or are brought to the centre in all sorts of conditions and get better here. The people have such love for the birds and you can tell they are well looked after.
Cornelis Spijker — Google review
We had a wonderful visit here. It's a family run sanctuary and doing such important work rescuing and looking after these birds. It's not a falconry centre so don't expect to see birds flying or guarantees to hold the birds - this is very clear on their website.
We were very lucky that they had arrived back from an educational visit while we were there so we were able to see a few owls up close and hold one of them. We got to learn more about the history of the sanctuary and the birds there as well as learn more about the specific owls they had taken out on the visit. They gave us so much time to ask questions and learn more - it really has opened my eyes to how important sanctuaries like this are!
Definitely worth visiting here and take your time reading the signs to learn more about the birds. You can take a walk in the forest after too, such a beautiful area.
Naomi A — Google review
Couldn't recommend this place enough, beautiful birds all with their own little quirks and personalities. We visited in the mid afternoon and spent about an hour and a half. We managed to catch some of the birds being fed, during which the volunteers were more than happy to talk about the birds, giving us their names and telling us a bit about their personalities. We had lots of questions about the species we seen and when asked, the staff were really enthusiastic and knowledgeable in their responses. This really is a hidden gem in the north, great way to spend a weekend afternoon and to be able to contribute to the upkeep of these beautiful birds through admission is money well spent.

We went today and had a lovely day. There were so many species of owls and other birds of prey. We were also lucky enough to see a young, beautiful and very rare black barn owl. She was being shown by the owner Mike, and our girls got to hold her. We all learnt a lot about these wonderful birds, and Mike and the other volunteers were super friendly and great hosts. Anyone planning their visit, especially with kids will be pleased to know there were clean toilet facilities and a picnic area with plenty of tables, and a slide & swing set. Great wee day out, and good to be helping this rescue centre by paying a v.reasonable ticket price.

This is a lovely sanctuary for birds who have been previously poorly looked after. All of the staff are friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Every single penny goes into caring for the animals and giving them all that they need. The sanctuary is located in Randalstown Forest and is so peaceful and calming. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Fun and educational day out for all the family. The 180° dome show was brilliant and the exhibition had lots of interesting and interactive elements. The staff were lovely, specially the curly haired lady at reception and the cafe, nicest coffee ever!

A great place for kids to learn about space exploration and astronomy. The dome shows are both entertaining and educational, presented by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of hands-on stuff for kids to have fun with in the exhibition area, including a mini play area for toddlers. Biggee kids will love the rocket-building workshops too (but be prepared to get wet during the process!). The only slight disappointment is the AOP (augmented reality) items in the outdoor display area, which I find quite difficult to operate. Overall a highly enjoyable experience and definitely recommended.

My boyfriend and I booked the “Look Up: Winter Night Sky Tour” for something different to do during our Christmas holidays. It was very reasonably priced and so interesting. We have dunsink observatory on our doorstep and came up to here for a change of celestial viewings.
We loved the exhibition centre lots of wonderful display pictures models interactive screens.
Sensory room also was fun and the other room with space and environment.
We forgot to go to the build a rocket room but should also mention the room.
We viewed our solar system in the dome and it was brilliant show I read some other reviews complaining about their necks 😆 we sat in the middle row and no one from 6 to 80 had issue as the seats are comfy and reclined to an angle for viewing that's how you watch the dome show the main features are in front of your eyes all the time if your rubber necking your missing the main viewing FYI
Staff were brilliant and friendly I'd also like to say I was impressed with our show guide especially when she spoke of hopefully some type of life on some of the planets whether it was a flower a fish etc cause I believe there's life beyond otherwise its a waste of space.
We had a lovely stroll around the grounds on a frosty day and loved it. I'd recommend to all ages to come visit it gets minds buzzing and open thinking and could inspire the next galileo astronaut astro physicists etc.
Great space themed giftshop also at the entrance.
We will defo be back again thank you for a lovely few hour's to imagine possibilities beyond.

We attended the stargazing event on the 15th of March and absolutely loved it! (NB! These events have to be booked ahead as they are only held occasioanlly)
My partner and I are both big fans of astronomy and stargazing and have been wanting to buy our own telescope for a while, but have little experience with them. They had three different big telescopes that we could look through. It was evident that the staff were all professionals and very well knowledged and answered loads of our questions!
I saw Jupiter and its moons (my favourite as I always spot it in the night sky), The seven sisters star cluster, a spiral galaxy, the moon, and plenty of other stars.
It was a great night as we could also explore the observatory itself and all the exhibitions, as well as the live sky dome show.
It’s such an interesting experience and worth the drive up from Dublin!

First, the staff were fantastic very informative and interactive with the kids... we (1 adult, 3 kids) went to the brickosaurus, it was good, it wasn't a huge exhibition but the display was excellent. The tickets we had only covered the exhibition (@£15)which we got through very quickly. On hindsight we should have booked the dinosaur dome show but that would have been an extra £28 which I though was quite expensive for a 30-45 minute show. We also visited the cafe and shop, both staff were excellent and quite reasonable. Overall we had a great experience.
Beautiful church with different elements of Gothic architecture and different decorations, the chandeliers were beautiful and it was a very quiet and peaceful church.

A lovely stop to admire the surrounding view from the Cathedral over the town and beautiful architecture throughout the Cathedral.

Beautiful large elaborate cathedral with unending mosaics on the floor and the walls in addition to tall detailed stain glass windows. Lofty arches lead to more art work which ceiling angels watch over. A definite must see. Outside three tombs Cardinal Conway, one in Latin, and one in Irish. I do wish they had a small placard so I knew who the others were.

Stayed in Armagh for a few nights , it's true what they say about this being a town full of impressive churches, this possibly being the most impressive of the bunch. I can only vouch for the outside as the evening was late and was all closed up. The Cathedral, although smaller than most others that you would class as Cathedrals.
Grounds are pleasant enough to walk around, although no flat, the Church is perched upon a hill, so that the town can look up and worship the true majesty of the Lord , with the steps of attrition leading up to worship .... cor religion , it's so full of itself , if it wasn't for the buildings I'd have nothing to do with it !

I visited St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral in Armagh today and it was a most enjoyable experience.
The Cathedral is well sign posted in Armagh and is easy to locate.
There are car parking spaces at the rear of the Cathedral.
The Cathedral has two spires and has a row of steps that lead up to the main entrance to the Cathedral.
As you enter the Cathedral the thing that draws your attention straight away is the alter and sanctuary.
It is beautiful. It is extremely colourful and ornate clad in gold.
There are also lots of beautiful stained glass windows in the Cathedral.
In the stained glass window behind the sanctuary is a depiction of St Patrick and the fawn.
I would recommend a visit to St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral in Armagh in Northern Ireland.

One of the ancient church at Armagh, a quite place to spend your spiritual time.
History
Church was built in various phases between 1840 and 1904 to serve as the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Armagh, the original Medieval Cathedral of St. Patrick having been appropriated by the state church called the Church of Ireland at the time of the Irish Reformation.
Mass times: Monday to Friday 10:00, Saturday Vigil at 19:00; Sunday at 09:00, 11.00 and 17:30.
Car parking and toilet facilities available.
No pass required for the entry.

A very impressive building and the artwork in the ceiling is particularly worth checking out. Lots of lost stories about Irish saints hidden up there.
There is no doubt but that the building was designed to impress. It is set on a hill surveying the surrounding countryside. As was typical in the 19th and early 20th centuries it is a neo-Gothic design.
Camping, a Japanese gardens & woodland hikes, plus crumbling remains of a manor house, in a park.
I stayed at Drum Manor the second weekend in March in my Motorhome. The site is clean with good facilities such as washrooms for dishes , toilets and shower block. Good size pitches with power hook up, however fill with water before parking up. Guess you made that mistake! Chemical and grey water disposal points are available. The main site is a very short walk to the Touring in the trees site. A well designed children's play area is 2 a minute walk from the site. The forest has picturesque walks and trails and you may see the odd dear. Great for a day out or a short break camping. 5 stars

Stayed for 5 nights and it was so peaceful and relaxing! Kids loved having the park close by and the forest walks for little adventures.

Great and cheap camping and caravan facilities. Lots of nice walks which are well signposted. Worth stopping at if camping in the nearby Sperrins! A great space for camping. We took our tent but there are motorhomes and touring caravans here too. Electric campsite with decent amenities. Hot water for doing your dishes and for showers! Lovely staff too who take the time to stop and chat. I love the surrounding forest walk and the manor ruins, although it would be nice to be able to walk in through the ruins, but I understand it is cordoned off for safety reasons. Great for a quick jog or walk with the dog. Very close to Cookstown if you need to pick anything up from Asda 🤣 but a perfect little place for a not too remote staycation, but, quiet enough to feel like you're getting away from it all.
I visited two weeks ago for a motorbike ride in the middle of the forest.
An incredible experience. I guess because of the event and bad weather, the other facilities were closed.
The food in the restaurant was good, the pizza a bit burnt. Prices adjusted.

Brought my 2 sons to the winter wonderland and I cannot recommend the experience enough!! Magical from start to finish. My eldest is 4 nearly 5 and the smile never left his face the whole time we were there. The effort the staff have put into make this experience magical and unforgettable is top notch. The elves, mr and mrs clause all put effort into making sure every child was included. My youngest is 18 months and he was still spoke to and included like every other child in the group. There was dancing, singing, personal interaction, entertainment while waiting for our tour to start, a ride outside with singing, mulled wine and biscuits all included In the tour. The photographer was patient and took several photos which I got to choose at the end which I wanted or not. At the end the children got a gold coin that they used to PICK there own toy. Not just a cheaply wrapped up toy that breaks after the first play!! After the tour we got food and it was delicious and served to us promptly!! I honestly cannot recommend this experience enough and will certainly be back next Christmas. Thank you Todd’s leap.

I gave todds leap 1 star because of the horrible experience I had. While in the eating area I was ordering my food. I asked the member of staff that was giving the food if I could use a old paper £20 pound note, after asking the member of staff at the till (where you have to pay for your food), she assured me that I could use it to pay for my food. After paying for my food with the £20 I sat down to eat it. Shortly after the lady from the till came to my table asking who had used a twenty pound note that was old. I went up and said that it was me and that the member of staff that was giving the food gave me permission to use it. I then returned to my seat. Shortly after a man in a high visibility jacket approached me (a young teenager) and abruptly said in what felt like an intimidating manor that the money I had given was a "dud" following this I informed him that I had asked and had been allowed to use it as a form as payment. He then said that the lady that gave my permission "did not" and said that I allegedly folded the note so the lady at the till would not noticed. I immediately said that this was not true. The member of staff that was telling me this then threatened to call the police and get my teachers involved . I then gave the equivalent of what he wanted in euro as I am from Ireland. Following this he then insulted my intelligence and left. I later found out that that member of staff who had treated me in such a rude and intimidating manner was the owner. I would not ever recommend anyone to visit as this experience was truly horrible because of the staff treating a young teenager that was on a school trip in such an intimidating and rude mannor while also threatening me. I believe that the lady who assured me that I could use a £20 pound note was covering for her mistake and lied about what she said to me, putting me (a paying costomer) through this ordeal to cover for her mistake.

Went today on the uncle bens pumpkin patch zoo trail thing!!
Absolutely terrible experience firstly don’t even dream of bringing a child under 3 prams shouldn’t be on the trail and they can’t walk it, we learnt the hard way.. also blind folded jeep drivers driving past us at sections of it so not exactly child friendly.
The “PLASTIC” zoo animals are also terrible basically spread out over a big walk with a lot of steep drops and a handful of Poundland Halloween decorations and tv screens with rubbish on them. For £40 we were expecting some effort.. also not sure we’re exactly the pumpkin patch was a young fella with a camera handed us a pumpkin
Also at the end of the trail there is a lot of money sucking machines but luckily they didn’t even work so couldn’t even amuse the kids with those

Had an absolutely amazing day at Todd's Leap! The staff was super friendly and ridiculously helpful. The zipline and off-road driving experience were out of this world. Ended the day with a peaceful dander through Granda Ben's Ethical Zoo and even conquered my fear of rope bridges. Can't wait to go back. The place is incredible, and the staff makes it even better! 🌟

Todds Leap Santa experience was truly magical for the kids. The elf workers added the extra touch, staying in character the entire time. The staff went above and beyond, ensuring a delightful and unrushed visit with Santa. It was a peaceful and memorable christmas experience for our family. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing. Didn't really know what to expect but boy we were blown away. Fascinating, extensive and interesting collection and a little bit of fun interaction and photo opportunities thrown in, brilliant. Philip was a mine of information and it's plain to see how passionate he is about this wonderful collection. Donations for charity are gratefully accepted. Couldn't recommend this hidden gem highly enough. So much to see you'll likely visit on more than one occasion. You need to book ahead. Thanks Philip for an amazing tour😁 Sharon and Ian

I can only recommend this place to everyone. Breathtaking collection. Philip's knowledge is incredible. He gave us a fantastic tour through his collection. Special thanks for hosting us. Even though we didn't make an appointment and he had a doctor's appointment. And one more thing, his dog is adorable. Thanks for your time and that we got a chance to see your breathtaking collection.

The Ulster American Folk Park is a museum that showcases the history of Irish migration during the 18th and 19th centuries. The park features an outdoor history center with period buildings, such as Old World cottages and New World log cabins. Costumed actors are present to bring the stories to life. Located 8km northwest of Omagh, this museum offers a glimpse into the past through its exhibits that recreate a Tyrone village from two centuries ago and a log-built American settlement.
Absolutely fantastic place when it's not Halloween but we also go every Halloween and the show they put on is brilliant, storytelling, cooking, talks, music and dancing , games for the kids and that's not including all the walking about visiting all the areas in the park , highly highly recommended, we all love it as a family from mum and dad to 16 Yr old 12yr old to 6 Yr old!
If you've not been especially at Halloween you are missing out !

Visited 03/01/2021 - booked online (gift aid tickets purchased to support) even though weather wasn’t great, the reception team and the indoor elements were great to start off the visit. Then three themes to visit from old world to the journey and then new world. We had a pram with us and I’d say 95% of the houses/buildings have accessible entrances if standard entrance has just steps. The volunteers/staff are super friendly and we even got treated to some fruit loaf and spiced pumpkin bread as we went around. The visitor centre also has a gift shop area and also a cafe area (a hint if you want a jacket potato they take 6 minutes each and can’t be done more than one at a time, cafe staff were busy and apologetic about wait) I would highly recommend the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Definitely worth visiting ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Park is a great place to visit anytime but it was actually magical during the Santa Experience.
Old Tymey Fun mixed with Christmas Magic & some delightful Elves to meet along the way.
Santa was so fabulous, jolly, kind, providing a unique experience for each individual kid/family.
Mince Pies, Warm Drinks, Christmas Crafts, Visiting the Toy Maker, Storytelling, Meeting Santa - all topped off by a carriage ride!
We’ll done to the park & staff for providing so a wonderful experience for adults & children alike.

A lovely folk park with lots of old houses and buildings to explore and a famine ship. Friendly actors/guides. Really good displays inside too. Tells the stories of three families who left Ireland for America and became influential there. A very nice shop, picnic tables and cafe.
Tara Langrell — Google review
I have loved the folk park since I was a kid. It’s been a regular part of my life at least once a year, and now that I have a kid of my own, she can now live those memories I once had (and she loves it). I think the price is about right for entry, the live displays are at random throughout the year, but none other the less exciting, so every time you come, there is something different. Keep that mind. The houses/shops/streets/churches/schools… (everything) are amazingly detailed, rough and rustic and period correct… nothing is perfect, and thats as it should be. Lastly, the hard working staff who act out the living and share facts, day in day out, are what brings the park to life and do not make anyone feel uncomfortable. The little food tasters also (might not be on everyday) which I think is made on site, is great. This is I little gem, and I will continue to pay my bit towards keeping it going into the future. I am so happy that places like this exist.

Excellent day out, very easy to get to and extremely helpful staff. Lots to see and do and all the houses have someone in them to give you lots of information about the history. Called into the old style shop and met by an extremely friendly and very upbeat man serving and he was so welcoming and also very funny. We went to the saddlery shop and the very kind man working in it gave a leather bracelet to my son which was just lovely. I would highly recommend this place to everyone, we had a fantastic day out. We had not booked tickets but this did not matter as we still got in very quickly and didn't have to queue.

Without a doubt the best tourist attraction that we've been to as a family in NI.
It's made by the staff and volunteers, they're so knowledgeable and helpful and you can really tell that they care. So much to see and do, we are members of NMNI as we live a few mins away from the Ulster Folk park but we can't wait to get back to the Ulster American folk park the next time we are in that direction.
I really like that it takes you on a journey of the Mellon family and It intrigued me so much, that after a lot of online scouring, I found and bought "The Judge" to learn more about their story.

Amazing, underrated and brilliantly organised tourist attraction in the heart of the North. You have freedom to explore and experience the life in Ireland's past, walking around the fantastic site with athentic buildings and even chat to some friendly actors who make you feel like you really are in another world. One of the very best things to see in Northern Ireland.

What a fantastic experience. Myself and my wife were deciding what to do on the filler days between Christmas and New Year and decided to come down to visit as it’s been a GOOD number of years since my first visit. It was fantastic, really enjoyed the walk around, the interactions with the actors and the history and learning of it all. Would highly recommend.

A brilliant experience to go to. We went at the end of December and it was obvious that the place wasn't as active as it would be in summer but despite this, it was still a very good and very informative experience.
I really enjoyed learning about the people of Ulster and their experiences of moving to America in the 1800s and how they lives differed in the new world.
The staff are clearly very passionate and knowledgeable and we're very happy to engage with the children and answer questions we had.
Will definitely go again when we are next in the area.
Castle Coole is an 18th-century neoclassical palace situated in a 600-hectare wooded parkland that belongs to the National Trust. The restored stately home boasts of double cantilevered stairs, Italian marble fireplaces and Regency furniture which can be seen on guided tours. Additionally, it houses basement servants' quarters and features a lake inhabited by the UK's only nonmigratory colony of greylag geese.
Fantastic experience in Castle Coole. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and the interior of the house is worth a look. The grounds around the castle are well maintained and the walk is definitely worth it 👌

From the outside, it is a typical castle like many others. Things start to get interesting inside, where you can see a few solutions typical of Italy and France. Ubiquitous symmetry and high standard of finishes. Glamour and posturing rule.

Lovely house - interior is stunningly grand and worth a tour. Good second hand book shop and cafe on site. Walks in estate are pleasant. Staff were helpful and informative.
Dropped one star due to poor system of booking on house tours - we were told to arrive 15mins before tour time and we would get on. We did but a couple told the same thing didn't. People who arrived later could book on sooner because tours couldn't be booked on arrival.

**National Trust meets Downtown Shabby**
I was very disappointed by my visit to Castle Coole Estate. The house was in a poor state of repair, with some rooms looking very run down and shabby. The fabrics were worn and faded, and some of the furniture was sparse and imposes uninviting. But invites taking your money no problem. Not the sign of a wealthy estate I've come across to expect.
One room was very dark. I felt I could have done with a flashlight to look around. Mostly, everything is roped off, and the house has restricted access for paid visitors. There are very few places for people with disabilities to sit down and catch a breath. They're roped off, too! The only room that impressed me was the rotunda, which had some beautiful gold decorations and an Irish harp. Possibly why the National Trust tour guide books have been withdrawn from sale to National Trust members and visitors?
The staff were mainly very rude and unwelcoming, especially when they told me that I was not allowed to take any photographs inside the house. There was no sign anywhere that said this, and I felt like they were violating my rights as a visitor. Despite this house being used in local television programmes and locally infamous. They also did not explain anything about the history or significance of the house and just rushed me through the tour. After an hour, I was never so glad to leave. The time really dragged. We were constantly watched as a group around the house as if we were being treated as commoners and potential thieves. The only nice women I found around the estate was a receptionist and an elderly voluntary lady in the library shop.
The courtyard was a mess, with peeling paint and weeds everywhere. The café was a joke. Just garden tables and chairs outside with what looked like an ice cream van. Tbh, I've seen better stalls at Nutts Corner Sunday Market. The gardens were nonexistent, just a field of overgrown grass and cows. Contrary to the map in the outside overlooking. The lake walk I paid for is possibly the my shortest in recent memory.
I felt like I wasted my time and money at this place, and I would not recommend it to anyone. It is a shame that the National Trust and its current inhabited residents do not take better care of this historic estate.

This was my first time at Castle Coole. It is such a beautiful spot. Even though it's situated in the heart of Enniskillen Town, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere it's so serene and peaceful. The lake views, the mountain, the mansion, the grounds, it's all so beautiful. We took a guided tour in around the house. Unfortunately visitors aren't allowed to take any pictures inside but the tour was interesting, very informative and full of history and engaging facts. The interior is splendid. So many beautiful details to see and experience. If you're in the area I would recommend stopping by here. The coffee shop too was full of lovely treats and a great cup of tea. All the staff ee encountered were so welcoming and friendly.

I have visited the grounds many times before walking my dogs, however this was my first time inside the house. Its stunning, I was not expecting to see so much of the interior. Our tour guide was Emma, she was a vibrant fun tour guide, very polite, knowledgeable & welcoming. We ended up having a tour alone with her as no body else showed up to that particular tour slot (although there were 25 in the previous tour). We really enjoyed the tour & learning about the history of castle coole. Owners requested no photos of the interior home are allowed.

Enniskillen Castle, constructed in the 16th century and once a stronghold of the Maguire chieftains, is now home to a local history museum and gallery featuring military artifacts. The castle is located on the western end of Enniskillen's central island, with its Watergate towers overlooking passing cabin cruisers.
Brilliant museum that covers so many aspects of Fermanagh's heritage - beautifully presented, with great, helpful staff. Love every visit!

Free parking at museum, free entry to the site. Café at entrance along with toilets. The area is very well maintained. Clean and tidy. Tables outside you can also sit at and soak up the atmosphere.
Various areas to have a look at, there was only one building I believe does not have a lift to go upstairs and that is the main building in the centre as it is on of the oldest. However, you can enter the ground level which is the original part of the building. Everywhere else is wheelchair and parm accessible. Staff very friendly and helpful. I believe you can pay for a tour guide if you wish.
There is a beautiful walk along the water way that runs just outside the museum. You can sit and watch some boats go by, groups doing water sports that are on the little island or kick a ball around on the grass area. A beautiful area to visit.

Fantastic displays and real value for money, you could easily spend half a day here if you went to the café as well. We didn't get to try that as we arrived at about 3:30pm and 4pm is the last entry so wanted to see as much as we could. 1.5hrs is a bit of a rush, I'd recommend 2-3hrs with a break.

The castle is superbly maintained and its history is very well told. It has an excellent souvenir shop and cafe with a lot of free leaflets giving information both on the castle itself and other places of interest, both locally and in other parts of Ireland. The bridge was built in 2011 as an attempt to improve relations between the 2 communities on either side of the river. It is a beautiful and s-shaped bridge, with a great view of the building in between the pillars.
Beautiful "S" shaped walking and cycling bridge that crosses the River Foyle. It's purpose is to unite Derry and the curved shape indicates that the road to peace isn't a straight one. It's a beautiful structure and has great views of the city. Definitely recommend when in Derry.

The iconic Derry Peace Bridge was opened in 2011 and curves 235 metres long. We parked our motorhome on the street as it was too big for the car parks, and unfortunately only had an hour to see the bridge, murals and walled city. The bridge is a modern and lasting design that symbolises the joining of two sets of people and hopefully the end of the historic struggles.

The Guildhall is a beautiful neo-Gothic town hall with stained glass windows and a local history exhibit. It is the civic and cultural centre for the people of Derry, and it houses many concerts and exhibitions during the year.
Very pleasantly surprised by the staff of the guildhall. It is free of charge as we walked in. We were greeted well. We were asked to take our time and go around and see the place. The history of dairy city is very well. Depicted photography is not allowed. We were allowed to take pictures of The strained glass work.
Very rich with history. It is right outside the row of canyons of the walled City. It is opposite to the peace bridge. Huge row of fountains outside was definitely a good amusement for the kids

I'm always tetchy about going into administrative buildings, but I was told it was free to go inside and worth visiting by the tourist office. And they weren't wrong!
Really friendly greeting at the door by a lovely lady, she told me what to see (the exhibit is good) and you get to see cool stuff like the grand hall with the cool blue & gold pipe organ, the committee hall and even a Nobel Peace Prize.
And given that IT'S FREE, it's totally worth going inside to have a look around and take pictures and stuff.

The Museum of Free Derry is a small museum dedicated to documenting the civil rights movement and early conflict era in Northern Ireland. The museum is located in Glenfada Park, which was once a housing estate that came under heavy attack during Bloody Sunday (1972). The museum provides a great overview of the political history of the city, as well as artefacts from Bloody Sunday and its aftermath. It's an amazing experience that should be visited if you're in Derry.
Outstanding. Chilling and educational. An absolute must if you are in Northern Ireland.

Don't deny yourself the chance to experience this museum and see Derry's history through the eyes of the locals that lived through these events. The content within is extremely engaging and tells the story of the people and Derry well with people who have experienced these events working there the day I visited.

I really appreciate that when you enter the doors to this unbelievable building, you are always made to feel comfortable with the help of the staff guiding you around what you are interested in. I have attended a lot of events from poetry night singers, and more importantly, in my opinion, all the events helping the people in Gaza. I would highly recommend looking at Eventbrite to see what is happening.

Overall informative for such an affordable admission.
I wish it had more about post Bloody Sunday events. It focused very specifically on this in intricate details and not other events after or anything else. My only other negative comment is you spend about 3-5 minutes getting a “host” to sort of tell you about what the museum is about and how to walk through. He was practically whispering while the automatic doors open and closed. Colleague about 15 feet away was speaking louder than him as they answered questions about Entry fees.
Worth it for anyone visiting Derry and wanting to learn about the history of this area. We went here first and it gave us the perspective to understand other tours we were given and the sports we visited.

Very educational and informative of historical events in Derry. Within the NI education curriculum, it's a very one sided account of history. However, the museum has shown (with a plethora of evidence and first hand accounts) what really happened 50+ years ago. Highly recommend a visit.

The museum itself is small don't be deceived it is well worth a visit and the reasonable entrance fee. Staff are friendly, make sure to book the free Derry walking tour at the same time. The museum itself gives a history of the bogside, free Derry, civil rights and bloody Sunday. Laid out chronologically including a mix of video and physical exhibits. Packed with information.

Very interesting to get an insight into the history of the Bogside and Free Derry. The video and audio of Bloody Sunday are harrowing. It's a very moving experience.

Very interesting Museum, quite small but very informative, great collection of historical items and the staff are so so friendly and helpful.

The people working at the Museum are incredibly friendly and informative, more than happy to have a yarn. The museum for a modest price presents the unfiltered truth of the area, and in my opinion is the most important thing you can do in Derry.
To everyone involved with the museum, keep up the great work!

Great museum. Very approachable staff that will answer any questions you may have. Recommend visiting to show respect for the victims and the families

Visited the museum today. Highly recommend to get the history and background of what happened. There’s a path you follow with some artifacts, pictures, and videos. I would also recommend combining with a tour with John McKinney whose older brother was murdered on Bloody Sunday. If you do both, you get a discount.

It's one thing to know about events in other countries but it's quite another to see the impact those events have. One of the volunteers spoke to our group about his personal experiences during the The Troubles and people he lost. This was a moving experience

Fantastic jewel of a location. Beautiful gardens and superbly maintained. It is beautifully presented with wonderful facilities and staff. The railway is a gem and so much fun. The restaurant has good value food and great coffee. So much to see in the grounds. Do not miss a visit to Oakfield.

Highly recommended. A great time was had by the 14 month old and 63 year old children in our group! From friendliness of the young lady at the gate entrance, the zany cheerfulness of the elves at the train station and the elves at Santa's grotto, the charm of Santa and his two welcoming helpers, the smiling elves at the hot drinks stand - all added to the great atmosphere created by the lighting, the Christmas and animal installations. This will definitely be on our family calendar for the foreseeable!
Happy Christmas.

Where is the option for 6 stars. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. The weather was fantastic for a start, always ahead at that point The kiosk operator couldn't be more helpful and polite. There is so much to see you need at least 4 hours to properly appreciate it. Plenty for the kids to get excited about and very well laid out so you can follow the walking trail and not feel like you are missing anything.
We got the train and the kids were about to explode with excitement. We stopped for a while at the restaurant and the food was fantastic and we are hard to please and my wife has quite a few dietary demands. There is a full extra menu for gluten and dairy allergies... Perfect. The staff again were so helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately we ran out off time and had to leave but we have our Christmas Santa Express booked so December can't come fast enough for the kids. I think we will be back before then...

We had the loveliest day at Oakfield Park. Such a lovely walk around the grounds so much to see. You could spend hours walking around enjoying the breath taking scenery. Deffinetley a day out to accommodate all needs and ages. Park and picnic area, you can also purchase food and drinks (alcoholic)in the Restaurant. The facilities and grounds are immaculate. Staff are well mannered and welcoming. I hope to come visit again very soon. Wonderful experience all around!

Nice place. It's more for those who just want to walk in nature and have a ride with the children on a train there.Would be great if they could make more entertainments there, similar to a maze(it was really exciting),because the territory is huge and gives a lot of possibilities to make something interesting there. The Cafe is good. The chocolate cake is tasty. The entrance to the park is € 6 for a child and €8 for an adult.
Liliia — Google review
The admission is expensive, even without the train ride. The restaurant is also expensive. That being said, it was a lovely place to go for a walk and there was plenty to keep the little one entertained, including a well kept play area.

Thoroughly enjoyed this park today with its lovely walks, maze garden, interesting sculptures and train that takes you around the park. There is also a lovely picnic area along with a very nice cafe/restaurant serving very appetising food. Glad we got to spend a few hours here and highly recommend it if visiting in the area. We'll signposted!

Such a great place! Well kept, clean and beautiful. So many things to see, the train is a must to see the grounds. the 2 km walk is also a great way to get around and see most things although the ground was a bit wet in some places and it's a bit too rough for a push chair but it can be done. Small things to see and enjoy in every corner.
Only minus was the food especially the vegetarian options. I'd rather they had made a veggie pasta than "pad Thai" that had none of the expected flavours. It was just overcooked noodles with veggies. The cake and pastry selection was a big plus though! Very yummy.

Oakfield Park…what an amazing place, and a beautiful hidden gem in Ireland. I have been here 5 times now over the last few years with my now 4 year old and wife, mostly to events like Christmas, Teddy Bear Picnic etc. The entire setup is creative and fun, the grounds/facilities are immaculate, theres no other word to describe it. The staff are amazing, who clearly love what they do. The Food/Restaurant is fabulous, the walks are delightful with so much to see, and then the 2.5 mile miniature train which operates on occasions is just so so good … especially Christmas at night, which is in one word… Magical! This is no ordinary place… definitely not, its got so much heart to it and creates so many lasting memories. Every Adult and child deserves this experience. Long may it last!

Can't understand why we never knew about this place. If you have young children, it's definitely the place to visit.
We went without children but still really enjoyed the place.
The chap on the entrance to the car park deserves some extra pay . He really made a great impact from we arrived!!
So welcoming!!!
The restaurant was spotless and the food we got was spot on.
We walked around some of the park and it's amazing how much there is to see
Too much to list
It's also best to download the app Oakfield Park App
This way you have the map .
If this place had camping facilities and pods to stay in ,it would be brilliant
So. If you haven't been, get off your bums and give it a visit!!!!!!

This is a hidden gem in Ireland. The moment we arrived the lady at the entrance was extremely helpful and very friendly. The gardens are beautiful with amazing scenery. There's a upper garden that would be more formal and a lower garden that is full of exciting things. Our kids really enjoyed it also. The toilets were spotless and the restaurant food was very good. There's plenty to do all day. The train ride was very good.

Had a lovely visit with my elderly father and elderly dog. Lovely coffee and cake at the cafe. Staff all so friendly and helpful. Dog friendly as advertised even on train though said dog wasn’t all that sure of the train lol. Enjoyed a train ride which was great way to see the grounds without walking. The grounds are amazing… can see the planning and design which obviously went into creating it. We went on a quiet afternoon around 3 which was just about enough time to enjoy the place but could easily have spent more time there. We were lucky with a dry and sunny afternoon. Families with children would definitely love the place with train, small play ground and loads to explore in the grounds. Highly recommend.

Very relaxing in the tranquil settings. The scenery is amazing and the train ride was a blast. The maze was fun with a lot of wrong turns. Will be back again and recommend for a great day out.
The Doagh Famine Village is a rustic destination that showcases Irish history and culture from the 1800s. It highlights the struggles of a Donegal family and community, who lived on the edge to survive during the famine times in Ireland until present day. The village has played an important role in promoting peace in Northern Ireland and reflects its Celtic Tiger era. Visitors are guided through animated exhibits that offer epic stories of survival and resilience.
Great place. Friendly staff and well laid out informative village with some surprises. Lovely tour. Great cafe and drink n cake free with ticket. Beautiful scenery nearby. A very good day out

We had a wonderful tour guide and just lucked out that we arrived when they were getting ready to start the next tour. Very realistic and brings one back to a different time and place. Truly felt authentic. So happy we incorporated this stop on our itinerary! Tasting Irish potato whiskey was a bonus! I liked it! The gift shop was great too! Highly recommend.

I couldn’t recommend a visit to the Doagh Famine village enough - honestly the guided tour at the beginning by Pat was so interesting and the self guided part with the special rooms and sections was just first class. The gift shop was great and your admission even included a coffee & scone overlooking the beach! If you haven’t been here you need to go!!

The gentleman who gave the tour had personal experience of growing up there. His stories and explanations were amazing. The kids in the tour were captivated by him. The shot of poteen was unexpected but a welcome surprise. I would definitely recommend a visit and just FYI a cuppa and cake are included in the price.

From the moment you entered the carpark to being greeted by such friendly staff, to the guided tour which is a MUST & very informative, this place has great friendly vibes and such history entailed all in one location, highly recommended and you can relax by the beach cove after or have a nice hot cuppa and homemade baked scones or pastries all inclusive of the tour ticket. All i can say is go visit and enjoy it very well worth it 👏👏👏

Wasn't expecting much if I'm honest but actually very surprised. Plenty of parking with spectacular views. Price was actually very good. We skipped the tour after the first house because it was very busy and just went on our own. The displays were very good all the signs with sayings and quotes were very good. Hands down the "haunted house" topped it for us. It's well worth a visit and the coffee was nice. Also the gift shop had lovely hats for €15 great value.

Guided tour of around 30 mins, then left to explore the rest of the exhibition on own. Excellent info and tales. The guide used to live in one of the cottages! Shop has some lovely things too, as well as the usual tourist stuff. Free coffee and cake with entry ticket - and that was good too! Well worth a visit.

An beautiful place! The tour guide for our group actually lived in one of the homes here..! It was really interesting, feels like almost all of Ireland’s recent history of the past 100-300 years is on display!
The woman who we purchased our tour tickets from was also very kind and also gave us coupons to redeem at the cafe nextdoor.
There’s plenty of parking, but its also really out of the way. I’d say it’s worth it, but you should also plan to enjoy it on a nice clear day so you can enjoy the amazing views here too!! Wow!!! What a view.
I would say, its not exactly a “village” but theres a LOT of history here and really awesome employees. I hope that they get more funding to improve the museum, expand it, and more! :) I hope to come back one day. Thank you for the awesome tour!

The Doagh Family Village is a must visit for anyone local or visiting. We learned so much about sayings you would hear every day and where they originated from. Everyone will learn aomething from this visit. Tea and coffee and a scone thrown in as part of the tour is a nice touch. The most amazing beach is seconds walk away!
Glenevin Waterfall is a popular tourist destination in Ireland, situated near Glen House and about 15 kilometers away from Donegal Town Centre. It is surrounded by woodland and can be accessed via a gentle riverside trail with picnic spots. The waterfall, which stands at 30 feet, is formed by mountain water and leads to a water basin called Pohlan-eas, known for its foamy texture.
This is a great spot for getting out and letting the family stretch their legs. The path to the waterfall is made from very nice pavement so almost anyone can make their way to it.
The park is enclosed so you'll feel safe letting your kids run alongside you. But do note that the banks of the creek are steep in areas and there are sheep running about so watch for those. If taken into consideration, both of these factors are positive attributes to this site.
So, I think everyone should go here and at least walk to the waterfall and enjoy some time out of doors with their family. If the weather is nice, bring a snack to enjoy at the picnic tables, but do clean-up afterwards.
Note: Dogs are not allowed!
Shaleena Quinlan — Google review
Lovely, short (10 minutes approx) walkway that’s very nicely finished up to the waterfall. Glenevin is a great waterfall with sitting area to listen, look & relax.
The car park is small with seating/picnic areas, toilets and an ice cream shop.

Definitely worth a trip. The easy walk to the waterfall is lovely and doesn't take long. Fairly flat the whole way, and a few places to sit and look around you.
Photos don't do the waterfall justice at all. Much better to go and see for yourself!
Free parking. Free to view. Fantastic!

Enjoy a very nice waterfall with a splendid walk up to the main event. Enjoy the small houses and little fairy doors. There's sheep to greet you on the way too. If you fancy a quick wash too, you are more then welcome to have a wash at the base of the waterfall.
Life Of Silence — Google review
This is a beautiful waterfall park. It contains a picnic area, seating along the pathway, a couple of shelters should it rain, nest boxes & miniture houses to keep children amused. The high level banks each side of the valley park contain various trees & ferns leading to the waterfall. At the main entrance, a small car park exists. There is a small craft shop & refreshments can be purchased. Toilets are available at Glen House B&B. Visitors take note that no dogs are permitted. Credit is due to all the volunteers in maintaining this park and American Doris Russo whom had the concept in its development. Visitors are requested to leave a donation for the upkeep of the park. Well worth a visit for nature lovers.

My oh my, I've never experienced something like this. I've been to many many water falls and for me this takes the to spot. There's a few minutes walk up from the car park but it's not too steep. there's a step climb half way up on the left of your up for it as there is an epic view from your. other than that the walk is a moderate one. took my time walking up as it is truly amazing. please please go take a visit you will not be disapointed.

Fantastic place to see this free natural wonder. It’s amazing that Doris Russo gave this to the community to enjoy. Lovely miniature houses on the way up and a great way to spend some time there.
I’ve added no photos of the waterfall as you have to see it for yourselves.
You can imagine this in England. The national trust would steal it and then charge a fortune to view it. This is why you have to love Ireland for having no rip off national trust.

Spectacular place! It's a short walk from the car park (about a km) through lush greenery. There are plenty of picnic tables on the way that are all well maintained. There's a small souvenir/ice cream shop near the car park. Must visit if you're around.

What a magical place, Donegal never fails to deliver and having Nancys Barn on site is just a bonus! Park at the carpark and walk 1k up a pebbled path twisting and turning with loads to see (for the kids) and loads of places to sit an picnic. Even today we started in the rain and finished basking in the sun, glorious.
Noel Maguire — Google review
Beautifully maintained path through a beech forest to a lovely scenic waterfall. The path follows the stream up the valley and there are great picnic areas by the water dotted along the path. An easy 1km walk (each way). There's toilets at the car park at the start and an outdoor coffee and ice cream kiosk (closed when we visited on a Monday in July). We were surprised that no dogs are allowed on the path so our Lab had to stay in the car. This is possibly as they use sheep to keep the grass down at the main picnic area. Otherwise an easy and enjoyable walk for all ages.

Nice walk especially with the great weather recently. It's a pebble path with no incline. Very easy walk to see a beautiful waterfall! You may even see some wildlife like we did on the way. There were some areas for a picnic. Just be sure to clean up and carry out your trash to keep this place looking great!

Little pit stop on the way to ballyliffin. Carpark is free but there is a donation box on the way in. Toilets on site. It's a 1k walk to waterfalls there also picnic benches if you fancy staying longer.
Great place - kind of across between a farm park and a theme park.
There's loads of space and lots of different rides and attractions, so even when we visited in the middle of the summer holidays, there was plenty of room in everyone and the queues were minimal.
There's plenty of animals around for the kids to see and you can feed them as well, which is a nice touch.
There's enough to spend a full day here, bring your own lunch if you want, it's all very casual.

It’s really nice place. A lots of fun for kids.
BUT THE PRICE IS TOO HIGH.
38€ for family ticket. And All the animals are still hidden. I think price for ticket at spring must be lower.

Really over rated. More of a park than a farm. Great play areas both indoor and out but not much in the way of animals and the paths aren’t worth the walk. If you want to see animals go to Tropical World around the corner!

Fun place! Plenty to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours. Especially if the weather is good. €25 for family of 4 isn't a bad price at all and there isn't pressure to spend/buy more when you're in. The coffee shop looks basic enough but clean. Didn't try any food but the tea is nice! Would recommend!
Paul Daly — Google review
Price if entry too much, adults should be free. Not many animals to see. Ones there in need of tlc. Also need renovating paths are worn full of holes and fences are falling apart with nails sticking out. Price of food in cafe too expensive after paying for entry.
30 for family(2 adults and 2 kids) or 8e each. Went with 4 adult 2 kids and baby. 50e. Tea for 4, scones and water for kids cost 18e.
Place is more of a park for kids to play than a farm. Dont espect much from animals or to see many. If you find value in the kids rides. Indoors slides and gym(shaped like a tractor) outside has a slip n slid, zip line, football area, trampoline and other typical park rides(slides)
Food is no better than your typical petrol station.
They charge 50c for feed bags for animals(not many animals so dont buy too many) cheap toys in shop are not related to farm.
This could be an excellent place if redesigned around a different theme.

First time visiting and it definitely won't be our last!! Great price for the activities available. Brilliant fun and enjoyable for the whole family. Very impressive. My son loved it. Didn't want to leave. He loved seeing and feeding all the animals, the indoor soft play area, the outdoor play area, the sand pit, the water slide and the wee train ride. And not forgetting the nature adventure we took as we walked around the farm and through the woods by the riverside.

A lovely fun day for the kids plenty of space and pubic areas. Everything included in the price except for pony rides. A couple of euros extra though is not a problem. Nice short nature trail giid selection of animals and loads to play on. Zip wire, big slide, bouncy castles both under cover and outside if the weather not great. Plenty of picnic spaces and no problem bringing you own food.
