HMS Belfast is a museum ship permanently moored on the Thames which offers an interesting and educational experience for kids and adults alike. The nine decks of this Royal Navy Light Cruiser from World War 2 have been transformed into an interactive museum with displays on life aboard a warship during that time.
A really amazing experience! We spent a couple of hours here, climbing up ladders, using the interactive screens and exploring all the rooms. Some rooms are a really tight fit you have to breath in! The volunteers were so helpful.
It's best to go this time of year as there aren't many schools visiting and it's much cooler. I'll definitely be going again in the near future!

A must visit, takes around 2 hrs to complete the tour.
Key amazing things
1. Very interactive with touch screens
2. Kids would love it ( you have an xbox to play the world of warships game). Not only kids, everyone would love it.
3. It's as real as it gets. Kudos to folks who are maintaining it.
4. The guns, the turrets, the engine room, the kitchen.
5. Admirals room, Sit on the Captain's seat and the view, the view outside is amazing.
6. Map room, not just map room, there's a lot of rooms serving different purposes.

Truly remarkable. A combination of enough free time and a london pass in your power will take you to places that you would never know you would visit. So I did, and there was no regret.
This was simple an incredible visit, you walk through the ship decks as they represent how it was to work and live in it.
Seeing from the kitchen, dormitories, workshops, armoury, engine room, control room, even a jail.
And it is not that crowded, which adds a few extra points to this place.

Amazing day trip with the family. Perfect place to go if you any interest in WW2 or Ships. Stunningly preserved and really well presented. Lots to see and do. Very interactive for big and little kids. Lots of atmosphere. Lots of ladders so you need to be fairly agile. Lovely day out. Takes about 2 hours. Nice picnic and cafe facilities. Very highly recommended. A must.

Interesting, historical military ship. Lots to see and explore for a few hours for any intrepid adventurer. Interact with the exhibits and get a feel how life on board may have felt in the depths of the ships belly. Working telescope on deck was a great addition spying on the passing boats or sightseers across the river.
Coffee shop on board wasn't great unfortunately. Cream tea's without any cream, then soup and bread without any bread, but you weren't told this until you had paid. Good for a quick drink or a snack.
Nice gift shop with lots of quality items for anyone wanting a keepsake.

It was such a lovely experience visiting HMS Belfast. The vessel is full of history and it's so interesting to explore all 9 decks. We were given audio handsets that explained the history of specific parts of the ship. The crew also gave a brilliant talk about how the ship operated - they were very knowledgeable. The onboard cafe was good and there was also a nice seating area out in the open where the pigeons keep you company! ☺️ The views of the river are lovely, especially on a summer's day. The gift shop was nice and the staff there were friendly and helpful.

One of the very few "commercial" touristy things we've had the pleasure of visiting that actually didn't feel like a ripoff. Wonderful way of portraying this very impressive ship in a "sensory experience" type of way. The rooms felt, sounded and even smelled like they did back when the boat was active. For example, one of the 6 inch turrets had a story playing in the background told by a former crew member and the entire thing shuddered and creaked and banged as he was counting down the shot sequence. The dentist room smelled as such. The kitchen had cooking sounds and smelled of food. The engine room hissed, crackled and banged as if it would have when active. Simply amazingly executed modern museum. 11/10

Amazing experience for families and history lovers. Engaging games that tests your ability to navigate the ship. Interesting facts with breathtaking visuals. You can climb up goes in see almost all part of the HMS Belfast and it’s mesmerising character.
History lovers you shouldn’t miss this.
I highly recommend the visit.

Great tour for marine fans. Reserve 2 hours to explore the ship properly and go with someone who is interested in naval history. Hustle through with small kids may not yield the right experience.

Tickets booked in advance which I would recommend. Visited on a Sunday not long after opening and went straight in. It's a big ship with nine decks you can visit. There's lots of ladders and hatches so bear that in mind if you are visiting. There is a route round but we did get a bit lost at a few points. There were two guides on the day we visited who were very helpful

Great museum ship to visit! Wonderful to see how well they maintained the Belfast. Its amazing to be able to walk through the entire ship. Would recommend a visit!

If you like ships, this is for you. I spent 2 hours here. Quite a lot to see. A few tight stairs to climb up and down. Some small places on board. But it's an amazing visit, how big it is and how heavy it must be, and still floats.
Mervyn Barber — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed going around the ship.
Both toilets and a cafe on board . Only downside was that the directions to follow, in order to see everything and listen to the guide handset ,weren't very clear. It didn't matter though as you can just wander around freely and still see it all .
Madeleine West — Google review
Absolutely wonderful experience, extremely open and easily navigable, even for a warship, arrows and directions are clear yet there not being a set one way system allowing you to visit lower decks with ease, fabulous conditions excluding a dual-purpose 4inch cannon undergoing rust, however, it was pointed out to be undergoing renovation and it is understandable that a 87 year old or thereabouts warship will have some rusting.
Wonderful to sit on the decks and just enjoy the breeze and great for taking photos, gift shop has not only memorabilia but also information on naval warships including those which mention Belfast in the Battle of the North Cape.
I would absolutely recommend anyone who can go does go as it is a fabulous experience for all

Huge old battleship (WWII era) in the middle of London with amazing views of the Tower, Tower Bridge, City of London and the Shard.
Permanently moored on the Thames and has been converted into a museum.
Very well conserved and very detailed tour.
There is a free audio guide available to know more about the ship.
There is a shop and coffee shop towards the end of the tour.
Really cool experience.
Well worth the visit.

I had waited a few years to get the chance to visit this historic vessel and it was worth it.
After checking in with the friendly ticket desk staff we were offered an audio tour and then directed to the ship. Once on board we were greeted by one of the many volunteer guides who told you a little about the ship and how to get the best experience.
Navigating the ship was a challenge for some due to its fairly steep ladders or steps between each floor but it was enjoyable to see the children enthralled at the adventure.
The on board cafe took a little while but we were able to sit out on deck and enjoy a breather.
Throughout the ship, many areas showed audio or film regarding each of its roles and duties.
Well worth the visit and please be advised that it’s cheaper to become members and then book as this saves a lot of money.
Above the ticket office is a small bar. This was a great vantage point to see the Tower Bridge being raised and lowered. Timings are published on the Tower Bridge website.

We pre booked and wasn't busy but was a Monday, friendly volunteers around and a nice welcome. Tour all well laid out, be need to ready for going down to the lower decks on the one way system which is great, but they can steep and narrow. Spent a good two hours, on a nice day to see the upper decks.

It's fascinating wandering around this old warship. The areas are set up to give a realistic feeling of how it must have felt to live and work on her. Even just moving around is interesting as you have to watch your footing, mind your head if you're tall like me, and take care on the very steep ladders between floors. Really enjoyed it.
Paul Baker — Google review
The reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars, in some parts of the boat signed are not clear where to go and I end up going in circles and missed some of the objectives.
On the website I think should mention that you need like 3-4 hours to properly visit it.
We entered at 14:30 , and had no time to visit it properly .
Apart from that I fully recommend and definitely I will come back to see the missed parts.

HMS BELFAST boat in London I can only recommend. It is not just an ordinary museum. I liked the possibility of interaction that bring the ship's history to life. For a moment you feel like you are part of the crew. All those who served on HMS BELFAST were heroes to me. We spent a few hours on the boat. definitely worth a visit. 👍👍👍👍⚓️

Visiting the HMS Belfast (part of the Imperial War Museum trust) is a must for the military history passionate and regular tourists alike, when in London.
Purchasing tickets online guarantees a quick entry and less queuing than otherwise. The ship is kept in excellent condition and the work done on it to restore various pieces of equipment and decks is admirable. The visitors can explore most of the ship's decks, from the engine rooms to machine rooms, workshops, dispensary and med bay, canteen, store rooms, to the admiral's deck and radar/weapons control rooms and the main 6" battery turrets.
Audio guides are also available and care must be taken when moving from one deck to the other as the stairs are quite narrow and the wrungs, slim. Kids seem to also really enjoy the light cruiser.

Absolutely fantastic time on board HMS Belfast and the staff were awesome. You have to be fairly nimble to get around some parts of the ship but definitely worth seeing it all. Not exactly cheap to get in but you will be there a long time so worth every penny.

Been meaning to visit this for many years. It was well worth the wait.
I suggest researching the history of the ship beforehand to get the most out of your visit.
There are lots of steep steps, so be aware of this and your own physical abilities before buying a ticket.
On a side note, we picked up an interesting snippet of info about why the forward guns are pointed where they are, but if I told you, I would have to kill you 🙂

A very interesting place with lots of details about ships and how they operate. Besides the technology, HMS Belfast has a great history and a very interesting story to tell. Definitely worth a visit.

Missed visiting this on previous holidays, but this time around I finally got to see it. You can either have an audio guide or do a self guided tour and I opted for the latter. Despite having a map of the ship it was a little confusing at times as to how to access the various areas, which direction to follow and as a consequence I never made it to the engine rooms. You'll also have to descend and ascend a number of steep stairs if you want to access all areas, so if stairs aren't your thing you may want to forego visiting the ship. It's an amazingly well preserved ship, gives you a great appreciation of how the crew lived, what they had to endure and the various functional areas.
The Tower of London is a famous landmark in London that houses Crown Jewels and iconic Beefeaters. It is home to centuries of bloody history, including scenes of prisoners being hanged, drawn and quartered.
Certainly a must see if you are traveling to London! The history of the Tower is hard to comprehend when you consider that the place is older than the United States. Lots of history to take in from the jail cells, torture machines, to the tower, the ravens, and all of the armament, weapons and cannons to see. The Tower also has the Crown Jewels on display. I would plan to arrive early if you do not wish to stand in line for extended periods to see the Crown Jewels. They are worth seeing though…especially if you want to see diamonds, emeralds and sapphires the size of golf balls. Unfortunately, photos of the jewels are not allowed or I would post some.
As others have mentioned, there are a lot of stairs, narrow spiraling staircases and some narrow corridors to walk through. That said, it was certainly one of the many highlights on our London trip. I’ve seen people give estimates of time for this visit. I would say 3-4 hours is probably a good estimate (not including a long waiting time in line for jewels). We read some of the signage on displays and then just passed by others. If you are the type who reads it all, maybe longer.

Great day out, lots of history and beautiful views of the castle and Tower Bridge and a nice cafe inside. You can follow a guided tour or purchase an audio guide, though neither is particularly needed as there is plenty of information displayed in all parts of the castle. Not really suitable for buggies or wheelchairs as there is lots of stair climbing involved.
Melissa Mattingley — Google review
Admission was a little steep but totally worth it. We paid under £30 per person, but it varies by date and what website you purchase through. We bought tickets in person and not in advance.
As soon as we walked in there was a beefeater starting a complimentary tour. He was very funny and informative, and explain the history of the castle and the surrounding areas with a lot of detail given to the history of executions here.
There is also an audio tour available at an additional cost.
We left his tour to go explore by ourselves and we saw the king's Chambers which were fascinating and included a marker in the chapel where King Henry VI was assassinated. Awesome. There were active guards marching around who still live inside the castle.
Actors were doing a play in the courtyard by the White Tower. There were plenty of bathrooms and a couple of cool gift shops.
You could easily spend three or more hours here.
As with most attractions in the city, parking could be a problem but we did not have a car.

It was a wonderful experience and a great place to visit. The history of the place is amazing. It is advisable to take the guided tour as the guide really knows his stuff and gives you some great insights into the history of the place and also gives good advice on what to visit next as the place is a really big place. You really need at least 4 to 5 hours to see the place properly and to learn about the history of the place and to take some lovely pictures. Well worth a visit.

A great place to come and and explore some of the history of London. Came here on a flying visit so didn't get a lot of time for a detailed visit although I would highly recommend. There's lots of interesting facts as you work your way around the map given to you as well you order yours tickets at the office. The crown jewels is another area definitely worth a visit although no photos are allowed to be taken here. Will definitely come back again for a more detailed visit.

Fascinating history, guided tours are amazing and definitely worth while so you can learn more about what you are looking at. Lots of information around the tower though. Make sure you look at the map so you don't miss any sections as it can get quite confusing as to where you've been. The gift shop is full of lovely souvenirs.

Absolutely worth a visit make sure you’ve got the legs for it there’s a lot of walking to do. We did the 45 minute tour guide well worth it. Saw the guards and importantly visited the white tower and the Crown Jewels. Unfortunately we got there later than expected and then found out the tower closed at 16:30. If you haven’t been go visit it is a must see my 9 year immensely enjoyed it.

I came for my second visit in a little under 50 years! I was in awe of the architecture of the building and at how deceivingly big it was inside. I came along with a local community group and we took a tour with Wayne, a resident Beefeater. He was incredibly knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour! After eating our packed lunch, we decided to take a look at the crown jewels. The queue was quite long but it moved pretty fast. As we were waiting, we were greeted with the amazing views around the tower grounds. It was a tad cold and windy but I'm sure it's beautiful in the summer.
Going in to see the crown jewels, I was a little disappointed at the way it was displayed. It was quite dark and sparse inside. The crowns themselves were amazing, such beautiful jewels.
I would have liked to take a bit more of a trip around the other areas but on a quieter day. That's the only thing I don't enjoy, too many people around.

This is a beautiful site to see. This is where the Crown Jewels are held and was a big fortress!! I mostly came here just to see the Crown Jewels, even though some of them were out due to the Coronation of Charles III, but this place was an amazing place to visit. But this use to be, and still is, a military fortress. A little fun fact, during WWI, the Tower of London did military training, even though it was still open to the public visiting the place. I just find that extremely interesting.
The Tower of London is one staple of London history, British history, and Royal history. The The Royal Family has their Crowned Jewels here where you can see them on display. Dating back to 1066, but made famous by William I (William the Conqueror) when he moved here in 1078. Kings William I (William the Conqueror), King Henry III, and King Richard I were living here at one point all adding to the historical site. The Tower of London has been a fortress for the majority of its time, but I found interesting is that it was used as a prison until WWII, with soldiers training here with the prisoners on a different side of the site. You can go see the Crowned Jewels here, which were amazing to see (there's no photography while seeing the Crowned Jewels). I truly enjoy walking the grounds here and seeing some of the Crowned Jewels the British Royal Family has to offer.

One of the main tourist attractions. We were here on a weekday in September. Although it was quite busy, there were no queues and it didn’t feel crowded. Extensive collection of weapons and armor, and interesting history of the place. The animal statues made of wire are awesome!

Amazing tourist attraction of this wonderful place,it is one of the most visited places nowadays since the Royal Jewels are guarded here. The Royal jewels are amazingly displayed, and the history of them is well explained all along the place. Big queue for the Crown Jewels once you got inside the Tower, but well worth the wait. I suggest everything try to come early in the morning around the 8:30 slot. It will not be crowded at that time. There are lots of things to see inside the tower. The Cafe inside is a great place to take relief. The exit is beside the Thames with awesome views of Tower Bridge.
We thought it will take 2-3 hours but we spend almost 5 hrs. The fortress is maintained properly. The audio guide helps you a lot when you are in. The Ammunition department is amazing.
I will definitely come back to visit them again whenever possible.

A wonderful place to visit when you are in London. It covers a little bit of the history of the city, military, history, and a unique look at the growth of the monarchy throughout history, including viewings, and tours of the royal jewels. There is a lot of information about the architecture of the building, and the views are amazing. I would highly recommend it to people and families.

Amazing place to visit! We had recently come from Ireland and to hear the different pieces of British and Irish history intertwine was really neat! I highly recommend paying the extra bit for the audio tour once you get inside. It helps give you a little bit extra that you can’t get from just reading all the signs. I also recommend getting there before noon so you have enough time to see everything!

It is a very cool experience. You get to step back in time, seeing things from a long time ago. There is a lot of history and information to read and take in, so many cool things.
I would recommend buying tickets in advance for 9am. I was dropped off at about 8:05 and was able to get some good pictures of the exterior of the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge. There are a few coffee shops around, so you can grab some coffee before the line opens. I got in line at about 8:30 and was towards the front.
I would recommend going to the Crown Jewels first as you will have a bit of space before the crowds decend on the attraction and there is a long wait. Even if you have a voucher for a guide book, I would get it after.
If you have a voucher for a guide book, the place is on the right hand side of the building, the audio guides are on the left. So, if there is a huge line on the left, don't worry, you can slip in and get the book. The books are in several languages, and there is a option for the kids book.

A great day out. Its worth getting there for opening and going straight to see the Crown jewels. That way there will be minimal queues and you may get to spend longer in the crowns room than you would later on.
The rest of the Tower is great and an amazing deep dive in the English history. You really should go at least once in your life.
If you do everything it’s easily a whole day.

The Tower of London boasts a rich history and stunning architecture. While the highlight is undoubtedly the Crown Jewels, the site offers a glimpse into England's royal past. However, for those seeking more diverse attractions, the experience might feel somewhat limited. Nevertheless, the Crown Jewels alone make it a memorable visit. Book your tickets in advance before you visit.

We had cold, extremely windy weather with spots of rain for our guided tour (early April) but our Beefeater was very entertaining. It was so fun roaming around everywhere! Felt like a maze, with little hallways, lots of spiral staircases and bridges to cross. Gorgeous views of the Tower Bridge, too.

Sadly I didn't get to go into the tower it self due to time problems and the ever occurring problem of me being broke. But the outside was more then worth my while. The whole castle is massive. Like way bigger then I thought it would be. And the architecture and surrounding views made for a lovely stroll through London.

Really enjoyed visiting the Tower of London. I visited with my daughters year as a school trip, so unfortunately our look around was a lot more rushed than I would have liked, but loved what I saw.
Seeing the armor for the kings & horses, the weaponry & where torturing happened was great. Walking around the site where Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard, Jane Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey & others were executed & seeing the Traitors Gate where people would have come into the grounds & the towers where they would have been kept was brilliant. Seeing the Crown Jewels was amazing. They were so beautiful. The craftsmanship of the clothing, armour, jewelry, flags & tapestries was breathtaking. Seeing the guards on patrol was awesome & there are lots of people around who you can talk to and ask about the Tower to get more of a historical experience. There's an interactive room where you can get involved with things in there which was great and the chapel was beautiful.
There are some steep stairs and spiral staircases in places which some might find difficult, but all-in-all I really had a great time. Seeing as our visit was hugely restricted due to it being a school trip, I'd love to give back with my family for a whole day.

Wow, the Tower of London was even more incredible than I imagined! From the moment I walked through the gates, I felt transported back in time. The Yeoman Warders were fantastic storytellers, bringing the castle's rich history to life with humor and enthusiasm.
The Crown Jewels were, of course, a highlight – it's hard to believe they're real! But I also loved exploring the White Tower, wandering the medieval walls, and even spotting a few ravens (those cheeky birds!).
Whether you're a history buff or just looking for a unique London experience, the Tower of London is a must-see. Just be prepared to be amazed!
Tips for your visit:
* Get your tickets online beforehand to skip the queues, especially during peak season.
* Take advantage of the free Yeoman Warder tours – they're the best way to learn about the castle's secrets.
* Allow plenty of time to explore – there's so much to see and do.
* Wear comfortable shoes – you'll be doing a lot of walking.
I hope this helps! Have a fantastic time at the Tower of London!
The iconic Tower Bridge, built in 1894, spans the River Thames and is a major tourist attraction in London. It's currently one of the London Bridge box girder style bridges, which was built from concrete and steel. The current bridge won't fall down any time soon!
It felt very safe, was beautiful history getting to see it. If you want to go here tell everyone you want to go to or get directions for the "tower bridge' or the drivers take you to a flat bridge that is also called the London bridge. Yep it happened to me so be more knowledgeable than I was.
Also a great little walk between the flat London bridge and the river with restaurants and coffee places. Very romantic little stroll ...London was amazing!!!

Firstly, although the staff were great at sorting me out when I didn't have a paper ticket and just one on my phone, it is not good that paper tickets are needed (and they printed mine out). In today's age and ecological crisis, paper should not be needed. They need to sort that.
There is no wheelchair access that I could see. Lots of stairs both up and down so be aware! There's also not a huge amount to see in the towers themselves. Considering this is not a free attraction, I would expect more.
Having said that, DO go to the engine rooms. That was excellent and informative. Well worth the trip.
Overall, just about worth it for the price. Don't make it your big trip of the day though. It's fun but short.

“Visiting Tower Bridge in London was an absolute delight! From the moment I set foot on this iconic landmark, I was captivated by its grandeur and historical significance. The majestic structure, with its towering towers and intricate Victorian architecture, truly exemplifies the architectural marvels of the past.
As I strolled along the high-level walkways, I was treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the River Thames and the cityscape beyond. The glass floors added an exhilarating touch, allowing me to marvel at the bustling traffic passing below my feet. It was an experience that made me feel both connected to the city’s vibrant energy and humbled by its rich history.
Inside the bridge’s exhibition, I was immersed in its fascinating story through interactive displays and informative exhibits. Learning about the construction and engineering feats behind Tower Bridge deepened my appreciation for this iconic landmark. The highlight, of course, was witnessing the bridge open up to let a passing ship through—an awe-inspiring moment that reminded me of its vital role in facilitating maritime trade.
The staff at Tower Bridge were friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and provide insights into its heritage. Their passion for the bridge’s legacy was evident, making the visit even more enjoyable.
Overall, my visit to Tower Bridge was an unforgettable experience. It’s a must-see attraction for anyone visiting London, offering a perfect blend of history, architecture, and breathtaking views. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply seeking a memorable experience, Tower Bridge will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.”

It's a must visit historic place in the centre of London. Very old and Iconic place. The beauty of the bridge can be seen from long distance. I feel everyone should get a ticket and must see the engine room along with the history of the tower from day one. There is a lot of information provided at the top of the bridge. When you walk on the glass way you will definitely get goosebumps. The place is always crowded so when you visit please make sure you have done the advance tickets booking as on arrival the queue will be quite long and you will end up waiting in line for an hour or more. If you want to take more pics and make reels better come early in the morning so it will be very less crowded. When you go inside the tower at multiple places washrooms are available. In short I must visit the place.

Undoubtedly a main photo spot in London, Tower Bridge stands as one of the city's most iconic landmarks, attracting visitors from across the globe. Its majestic structure, flanked by the iconic towers, creates an unforgettable backdrop for photographs. As one of the biggest attractions in London and a globally recognized symbol, it offers countless picture-perfect spots, whether capturing its silhouette against the skyline, witnessing its mesmerizing evening illumination, or simply savoring the grandeur of this architectural gem. With its remarkable history, striking design, and ample photo opportunities, Tower Bridge rightfully stands among the world's most celebrated and photographed attractions

Tower Bridge, standing just beyond the Tower of London, is more than just a bridge; it’s a journey through London’s heart. A short stroll across this iconic structure offers breathtaking views (yes, in a good way; enter Seinfeld reference) and a sense of history.
Crossing over the Thames, you’ll find yourself on a scenic walkway, a perfect vantage point for soaking in panoramic sights. From here, the Tower of London looms impressively, while the London Bridge and the sprawling cityscape stretch out beyond.
It’s a spot where the beauty of London is seen and felt. Tower Bridge is a inexpensive gateway to some of the most picturesque views.

No visit to London can ever be complete without a visit to the Tower Bridge. Undoubtedly one of London's most famous monuments and with good reason. First of the bridge is massive and filled with details. Walking across it feels truly magical. Gazing upwards toward the towers is almost as enchanting as the view you have from up here. A must in London if ever there was one.

It was a great experience to enter the Tower Bridge towers, go up and down the stairs and especially walk the two walkways above street & river level. The glass floors were really cool. They don't extend across all the way but only in the middle of both walks, and for people who don't like it there is a wooden walkway to the side so this is suitable even for the less daring. You get a great panorama from up there. The engine rooms also come with the ticket & you get to see how the bridge was operated in steam engine time.

The Tower Bridge. Now while there’s no cost to cross the bridge I would highly recommend purchasing tickets to go across up top. It’s well worth the steps. If you need to take a lift one is available but seeing the staircases, and all the factual, historical information they give you on the way up makes it all the more worth it.
We bought tickets for 13.30 and arrived a bit early, and the staff didn’t mind us getting in the queue. It was a bit long but moved very quickly, again you could take the lift or the stairs we chose the stairs (we were told there’s somewhere around 260 of them). As you walk up the stairs there are posts and placards that tell you all sorts of facts regarding the material that went into the bridge and other fascinating details. The wood creaking stairs only adds to the experience. Once at the top there’s a spot to rest even before going to the upper bridges.
You may think the entire upper bridge is “glass bottom” it isn’t, but each side does have a small section where if not to crowded you can even lie down and take a photo. You’ll walk all the way across one, down the other and turn around where then you can decide you next move.
Once down the stairs they send you off to the Engine Room which is also included and the gift shop. This alone has been such a worth while part of our visit, I would highly recommend it.

This review is for the paid attraction to go to the top:
Great view on one side. Tickets are much cheaper compared to other attractions, but that's not an excuse to throw in so many people into each batch. If the top was a bit less crowded, it would've been great.

Like many people I was also confused that this the London Bridge BUT when I visited I came to know that this is Tower Bridge. A marvel, gorgeous structure over the river Thames. The view is only good if you see it from a far distance. If the weather is good, you can walk across the bridge. There is a ticket to go up and if you are really interested to more about this deeply.

Another must visit in London. The most beautiful bridge in London I would say. Lovely pics from every angle.
Very busy place however you can do like we did and go very early to get pictures without hundreds of people behind us.
We had blue sky which made our visit a bit better despite the cold weather.
Be careful of people not following the signs which tell you which way to walk, a shame because it would make the crossing smoother.

Visited the iconic London Tower Bridge and was utterly captivated by its timeless elegance. The intricate architecture tells a story of history and craftsmanship that leaves you in awe. Whether you walk across during the day, with the city bustling around you, or experience the magical lights at night, every moment is a feast for the senses.
The bridge not only offers spectacular panoramic views of London but also serves as a testament to the city's rich heritage. It's a photographer's paradise—every angle is postcard-worthy.
Surrounded by charming cafes and the serene flow of the river, the atmosphere is simply enchanting. London Tower Bridge isn't just a structure; it's a journey through time and a must-visit for anyone seeking a touch of magic in the heart of the city.

Great experience overall. You can wait to buy tickets to go up into the tower and view the engine rooms. I thought it was a fun event and fairly cheap compared to other sites around the city (£30 for a family of three). We waited 40 min to get tickets. They also have pre-purchase tickets or time reservation to hold your spot in line at a specific time for you to jump the line.

Fabulous views and reasonably priced. The mirror above the glass floor was a newer addition I hadn't seen before. Although taking the lift would have been easier we enjoyed the climbing the steps up reading facts along the way, it made the top a treat. Photos from the top came out really well 👍Small children enjoyed the engine and pump room, it is very well restored.

The beautiful tower bridge. (Tourists often confuse this to be the London bridge.)
Well this is a bridge too, and check out the pictures to see how amazing it looks when a big ship passes and the bridge is open. This is one of a kind bridge. To know more about its construction do visit inside the tower bridge. It’s amazing to see vehicles crossing under you.
Great tourist spot , walk the bridge to see it in detail. It’s a must do in London!

It’s a very nice touristic place.. there are restaurants near by where you can also enjoy the view.. we took a walk on the bridge. If you want to walk on the top where there see through glass there is a payment of either 13 or 20 pounds but the tower itself is closed you can just walk along the corridor from one side to the other. Walking down though is free and it’s a must see when you visit London

This historic gem located in the heart of London is an absolute must-see. It's an iconic testament to the city's rich history, standing proudly as a symbol of its heritage.
I highly recommend getting a ticket that includes a visit to the engine room and a journey through the tower's captivating history from its inception. The wealth of information provided at the top of the bridge offers a deep dive into its past, enriching your experience.
Walking on the glass pathway is an unforgettable thrill, sending shivers down your spine as you take in the breathtaking views. It's important to note that this place is always bustling with visitors. To make the most of your visit, I strongly advise booking your tickets in advance. Arriving without pre-booked tickets might result in lengthy queues, which could mean waiting for an hour or even longer.
For those seeking the perfect photo opportunities or aiming to capture stunning reels, consider arriving early in the morning when the crowds are thinner. Additionally, you'll find conveniently located washrooms at various spots within the tower, ensuring a comfortable visit.

We visited London on a family trip and visited here. The scene of the bridge opening was awe-inspiring. It was amazing to actually see a scene that I had only seen on TV. One of the most iconic, if not THE iconic bridges in the world. It’s painted and colorful and easily walkable. Nice wide sidewalks for pedestrians and lots of traffic of course. Stairs at each end. Views of the Tower of London and the River Thames and other very significant buildings of London.
The bridge is lit up at night and is even more glorious.

To see this bridge in person still leaves one in amazement. A very iconic part of London, indeed. We went there on a weekend and the area was understandably packed. At around 11am, the queue for the walk above was already long. We did not opt to go up for personal reasons, but I bet the views above are breathtaking, could be literally.

Revisited the museum and experience inside the two towers after 20 years.. . Well presented with history, facts, events and helpful staff that gave us more information. The fun part is to walk on the glass walkway! I dare you to try it!! 🤩 Engine room on ground level is good too. It’s an amazing architecture and engineering.

It’s one of the most iconic bridges in London and it’s definitely worth a visit. You can cross the bridge for free on the ground level (where the cars are driving). But it’s also possible to go to the top of the bridge if you are willing to pay for it. You can enjoy a great view to either side of the bridge. It’s nice to cross the river as a pedestrian but if you find a bus that crosses there it’ll be just as good.

A magnificent example of Victorian Gothic architecture! This iconic drawbridge leaves every visitor awe-struck with its grandeur and technical genius. The panoramic view from the walkway reveals splendid cityscapes. An intriguing piece of history lies within the engine rooms, taking you back to the industrial revolution era. The Cutty Sark is a maritime museum in Greenwich, England, containing exhibits relating to the history of tea clippers.
Fantastic experience. Also nearby Greenwich has a lot to offer including the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich Market, the Emirates Airlines Cable Car experience & amazing views of the London Skyline. You can also take the pedestrian tunnel to the other side of Thames which is an amazing experience in itself. The City Sark experience in my opinion comes with all this. Highly recommended.

The last tea clipper of the British trade fleet is attractively presented on dry dock near the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich and can be visited with a combo ticket for the Observatory. Keep in mind the last admission is at 16:30 and the museum closes at 17:00 sharp.
The ship is well preserved and a lot of the history of the trade routes can be seen along the tour. Kids will be quite entertained too with interactive displays at several points.

A great day out as part of the Royal Museums Greenwich. Can be seen for free on the outside, and reasonably priced to enter. Enjoyable to explore, clearly explained and labelled, lots of stories and history to discover. Cafe inside is calm, spacious and comfortable too.
Tiffany Scattergood — Google review
As beautiful as this ship is on the outside, paying to climb aboard was a waste of money. There's very little to see inside and due to the extremely low ceiling you will find most of the time you are looking at the floor to avoid injuring your head. On the deck there is a bit of a view over the river but again there's little to see (some of it was cordoned off too). You will pay silly money in the cafe outside and we just didn't see anything worth the asking price. The money is predominantly about preserving the ship of course but it still has to be entertaining.

Great experience to learn on the history of this famous ship. The fastest tall ship of its time could do 300 miles per day. Very good exhibition. Cafe in the basement is great too. Realised they do afternoon tea package. The basement is really sitting by the bottom of the ship with the glass roof on top with sunlight coming in. We became member of the museum too so we can go to planetarium and The Royal observatory. Music and comedy night events are featured here too.

The Cutty Sark experience is great. What a fantastic ship and the tour and the experience lecture from one of the clippers captains is very good also. The ship itself is very interesting and beautiful. There are information videos all around the place that truly tell a lot about the ship's voyages. The place is designed to show how the ship used to function, even with the smallest details such as speakers to show the noise the chickens made. Very recommended for anyone, especially tourists.

Very good, an hour is long enough. There are lifts that make it accessible but feel it needs a couple of places to sit down in deck for the less mobile people among us. Cafe was pleasant with good view of underneath the ship. Also lots of other nice places around Greenwich. Children would love it!

I didn't get to see much of it because we came by close to the closing time. We also didn't get a tour of the ship.

Great play area, High rope walks and Segway
Plenty to do and see for a day
Christmas experience was amazing. Really friendly staff, excellent shows and displays (the circus was fab, my son was wide eyed through out the whole thing, and he's normally a right fidget bottom!).
Father Christmas and the elves were wonderfully engaging with children and adults alike, and the decorations and buildings set the scene well, a lot of effort had obviously gone into making it feel Christmassy.

We went today for the PYO pumpkin, I think it should really be called choose your own as there were all laid out on the floor. 🎃 it was OK, nothing amazing, a bit pricey and you didn’t get any kind of discount after spending £20 + (2 adults and 3 kids) for entry, we also had to pay to for the pumpkin 🎃, which wasn’t reasonable at all. Something you would get in the supermarket for £2 cost £7. Wouldn’t be going back anytime soon. :(

I was disappointed, just literally gutted. There’s nothing in there. Just basically a drive in Cinema and there’s no Customer Service nor like an information anywhere about what’s in the “farm.”It’s just a sign board that says Escape Room, but what is that??? You can’t just expect visitors to google it. I asked a staff if what’s here to see, are there any animals or anything? He said only the Drive in Cinema and Tea Room and that’s it. Years ago there were animals but because it take a lot f time to care and look after them so they decided to move the animals. I didn’t expect it. And we The bus is every hourly. There’s no taxi nor Uber around.

It was a good experience! The vibe is nice and cozy. (Reminds me of christmas markets.) Weather was good that time we came there except that it rained in the morning so it was very muddy and slippery so be careful and wear wellies or old shoes you wont mind getting all dirty. The flowers were in bloom (except for some rows which was just startung to bloom). We tried the food there as well. They have more than enough varieties. Dutch hotdogs, bbq wings, dutch pancakes, fish and chips and coffee hot choco. So colorful and they have spots where you can take photos. There was quite a number of people even for a weekday (but easter break so there) so it was a challenge to get photos without photobombers 😂 we just took the train from london and got uber (we were fam of 4) from station to the place which was about 10-15min ride. Leaving the place, we just waited for the bus (just across the place) to take us back to the station. They also have stuff on sale as well as tulips by the exit.
Overall, it was a nice experience. A delightful feast of colors esp for the eyes.

A very different experience to years gone by. We visited the tea room only for breakfast in a large party. Food was great and came out pretty quickly, but the service wasn't brilliant; lots of plate swapping to make sure we had the right order, and we felt clear up was rushed. No more animals or play ground, I came away feeling that young families have been shunned away at the benefit of other money making schemes. Closer to a theme park than a farm!

Came here for Halloween 🎃 I must say, definitely something different in Ireland we have tiny little pumpkin patches so to see this huge pumpkin-farm patch was amazing and such a nice night. We were coming from Brighton and had to get the train to three bridges - then we had to make sure we got the 84 bus (that was vital) these buses are extremely limited. The place was huge, we didn’t opt for a wheelbarrow because taken a pumpkin home wasn’t necessary as we had to take a flight back home ✈️ so I can’t comment on the prices. The farm is decorated so good, so many pumpkins 🎃 the walk in the little woodlands is really cute. Lots of strobe lights all around, and spooky music - very well done. It was extremely quiet on Halloween night because most people where going to the shocktober part and it was raining. There was a Ferris wheel and lots of fire pits to roast marshmallows. The only negative I can say is, the pulling patch was extremely muddy and a little dangerous- perhaps an artificial walkway would be good here for the rainy days or bad weather. Overall as a visitor for the first time I loved it 🙌🏼

Great spot for pumpkin picking. Family friendly, offers a nighttime picking experience also. Food catering vans and stalls available along with Ferris wheel and marshmallow roasting. Worth the trek out of London Boroughs for the experience.

We came here for the Christmas at tulleys and my daughter loved it , the first time she met santa , she lived making the reindeer food , see all elves and she even had cuddles with some as well , definitely worth the money and definitely will be taking her again.

Went to do an escape room but went to the tearoom first. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Quick service.
The escape room was really good we did Mutiny, the theme was brilliant and the game play and games master were really good (Lucy). Would love to go again

What a fantastic day out and a great experience for all ages.
It's very organised from the parking right down to the fine details.
They provide wheelbarrows so you can pick your pumpkin all different varieties sizes and shapes you.
There are markers around the field where you can take pictures so you can have a lasting memory. In another section of the field you have restaurants, ice cream, desert plenty to eat and drink.
And there are shops to buy yourself a gifts, there also do a night time pumpkin picking. Plenty of toilets and they are clean. My 1st time and I was very impressed worth a visit. You will love it.

Today we visited the Tulleys Farm Tulip Festival. It was stunning! From the rows of brightly coloured tulips to the array of food stalls, the photo opportunities and friendly staff. We had open dated tickets, so could visit once on any date. We had 3 adults and 2 children under 4. There were baby change facilities. My toddler loved the old (non-working) tractor to sit on and the moped prop too. We can't wait to visit again next year!

Great fun! We went the first weekend it opened, 6pm slot which worked great for us as this was before it got busy but also wasn’t too long to wait until it got dark which is a great experience too! Great for kids and adults. Wear appropriate shoes for mud!!!

great evening out at scare fest for halloween night, was our first time and really enjoyed it! however we only managed around 6/7 attractions out of the 12/13 which was a shame as had to queue 30-50 mins each maze. personal favourite was the tractor ride! amazing actors aswell

First time here for Shocktober and it was amazing! Unfortunately we had a storm a couple hours into it but still was an amazing night! Actors were fantastic and food was lovely with so many choices! Would highly recommend to all...and to buy the pass with 11 fast tracks. Think it's £65 pp but it means when it gets packed you can have ago on all 11 different scare mazes. Hope you all have the same wicked experience I did!

It was very crowded when we reached 530pm. But at 7pm, many visitors left, and this is a great time to take good portrait and landscape photos.

Took three 14 year olds ice skating. They loved it! I would like to say a huge thank you to the member of staff who was on the ice at the 4.10 session. He advised the girls on how to improve their technique, helped them up when they fell, and even took some fabulous photos for me while still being attentive to everyone else on the ice. The girls were wowed by all the Christmas stalls and decorations as well. A very festive experience.

Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker is a large underground facility in Essex, offering self-guided tours and housing a Cold War history museum, canteen, and ropes course. The bunker also hosts ghost hunts, with reports of eerie experiences in the disused underground service tunnels. Originally an RAF air defense station turned regional government headquarters during the Cold War, it is now open to the public for exploration.
From the outside, the bunker appears to be a cabin. The facilities were surprisingly clean and well-kept. There's a lot of interesting information and facts here. The only disadvantage was that it was in the middle of nowhere; it was quick and easy to ride an uber in, but returning to town was a challenge because there are no cabs or ubers nearby. You must need your own car to go. It was 30 minutes drive from London.
Overall, it was a pleasant and intriguing surprise. The atmosphere was secure.
Highly recommended.

The bunker is disguised as a cabin from the outside. Facilities were surprisingly clean and well maintained. Lots of interesting material and facts. Only downside was it's in the middle of nowhere, quick and easy to ride an uber going in but coming back to town was quite the hurdle as there are no cabs or ubers around the vicinity.
But overall it was a lovely and interesting surprise. The environment felt safe.
Tricia L. — Google review
Firstly, this place is really interesting. We spent a few hours on a rainy day here.
From the outside, it's a small bungalow in the woods, but inside is a whole other story!
It started life as an RAF ROTOR station, then a civil defence centre, then a Regional Government HQ, and now a tourist attraction deep underground.
You pick up a self guided audio tour at the start (options for adults and kids), and you can do it as fast/slow as you wish. There are exhibits, videos and a small dress up area.
It's chilling to think 100s of people at a time were down there!
The reason for the 3 stars is, its £12 per adult for the ticket, but it feels that its easy money and its not going back in to the museum, it feels like there is no upkeep there (I may be wrong, but thats how it felt, which is a huge shame)
The path is not paved, so is muddy and a little slippery in the rain.
There was 1 staff member we saw at the end. It's all done on honesty boxes (and CCTV!), and you have to pay an extra £5 to take photos inside!!
There is a decent sized parking lot, several bathrooms, cafe (self-service, and honesty box again)
There is also a huge outdoor high ropes obstacle course that looks fun, but was too wet to explore when we went.

Interesting and eye opening! Well worth a visit. Suitable for kids, if they like their history. Wheelchair accessible and lots of parking. Pay on exit. Cards accepted at the self-service till.
Kostya L — Google review
A walk back in time for alot of our group. Well worth the money. Alot of honesty payment boxes, for photographs, drinks, canteen, payment on exit of tour and gift shop which was stocked for younger tours and older. All in all we had an enjoyable visit. Expect No hi tech gadgetry, just good old bast to the past. No phone signal, take cash to pay although there was a card device at the canteen. Hidden gem well worth a visit.
Wayne Bell — Google review
Certainly a different kind of place. The self guided tour is great as you can take as long as you want as there is plenty to look at. Lots of chilling Nuclear War realisations that even if you were in a Bunker life would be awful. You can add on High Ropes aswell to make a full day out.
stevewalsh1987 — Google review
We headed down a long tunnel, through the blast doors and into the three floors of communications rooms, sleeping quarters, offices and medical facilities, all in place for the 600+ people who would have had to live here in case of the worst. With original videos to watch as we went round, it was quite a surreal experience, difficult to digest at times, but something definitely worth seeing, especially when you consider the measures required to keep the air clean and live-able for months of being underground, as well as other practical considerations!
Thanks so much to Mike for all his help and for looking after us.
Adam Woods (agentpurpleuk) — Google review
Fascinating place to wander round and think what it would have been liked to have holed up there for 3 months. Lots.of original communications equipment from the 1980s. The free audio guide is essential. Sadly they were demanding an additional £5 for a permit to take any photographs. That's a shame, because they won't be getting the free publicity through social media, and we didn't come away with any photos of our experience.

What a fun exhausting day the team are brilliant from first phone call to the communication and finally the day it's self. Very well done excellent course for all ages and capabilities plenty of parking clean changing areas. Thanks again Sam and Tracy you two are awesome.

There’s a fine line in war exhibition between its inherent serious nature and wanting the visitors to be both educated and entertained. I think this place is a good example of how to do it right. Being in the actual bunker is a constant reminder that the danger of nuclear war was (and still is) very real. At the same time, the narrator in the walkies convey the historical facts in a respectful manner while being entertaining.
Jay Chang — Google review
Very informative, lots of information as you walk around. Lots of Exhibits took my two young grandchildren who were maybe just too young. They had their own information as we walked around videos to see a good day out it was roughly about two hours. You could only take photos if you had a licence . Worth a visit.

This was my second visit. The first time was ten years ago. Really interesting history that was told via the handheld wands. The visit starts by entering the "house" and picking up the wand and ends 90 minutes or so later in the canteen. There are no staff present at any time on either of our visits until the very end. That is where you pay. Excellent.
Andy Hoare — Google review
Been here a few times with my children over the years , it's never too busy , toilets and small cafe is always clean and tidy. The information wands are great , they have added an extra cost to pay if you want to take photos which is a bit silly. It's a really interesting couple of hours.

Old MacDonald's Farm is a small, family-run farm with the usual zoo suspects, alpacas, wallabies and owls, plus kid's rides. The staff are friendly and amazing at their jobs, the play areas are all five stars, and the food is also very tasty and served quickly. There is always someone there to clean up any mess quickly. There is plenty of parking available. This place was fantastic for a family day out!

The whole place is very wonderful! The kids love it! The rides are all inclusive with your tickets so you do not have to pay any extra for the rides. There isn’t a very long wait and we went on Mother’s Day and the longest line we waited in was only 15 minutes, so not bad at all! The farm itself is really nice they have a lot of animals, we loved the rabbits!
The food and drinks is nice, play areas are very nice too. Would wholeheartedly recommend this as a fun and entertaining weekend out with the family, lots of things to do to keep the little ones happy! The service was wonderful thank you so much!

Overall a very enjoyable experience. We went on Easter Monday so lots going on on the day. Parking is tight if your not there for the opening hour so get in early like we did. There was lots to keep my 6yr old busy and happy and lots of interactive play areas to keep them active and there mind buzzing. We spent the best part of 4.5hrs there so definitely made the most of the day. Face painting / painter was amazing and my daughter loved her Baby Chic mask. As I say, overall a great, enjoyable and fund experience for us all

This farm and fun park is an amazing place to visit if you have kids.. This place is close to M25 and the park has ample parking space. We had so much fun and the day we spent there will stay in our memory forever. We visited the park during the Halloween festival and there were extra attractions during this time such as haunted house , pumpkin patch ,pick your pumpkin etc. There are a variety of animals in the farm such as alpacas, rabbits, cows, meerkats, kangaroos etc . It is a Wheelchair user friendly park as well. As we visited this place during Halloween festival /school holiday time , the park was quite busy /crowded which is expected. There were long queues in front of the coffee shops/ food shops and that is the only thing I didn’t enjoy. Overall , we had a lovely experience there.

Plenty of play areas and rides to keep our 3yo and 7yo entertained. It's a shame you can't get up close to most of the animals and some are even too far away to see. Food and drink prices are highest I've seen at similar venues (£2.20 for a small carton of juice and nearly £8 for two hot drinks). Love the themed cows dotted around.
Dan Hutson — Google review
The place was definitely a very good experience for us.
It was easy to find. The parking ground was full of cars, but the overflow car park had plenty of space left. It is very good that even the overflow car park has bins.
We went after 2pm which was much cheaper for the three of us. 3 hours has exhausted our child anyway.
The park have lots of hand wash places available and it is very recommended to use it as often as possible. There is plenty of rides and other stuff, playgrounds and soft plays. It is very good that lots of playgrounds are covered by shades, it was very pleasant even in a hot day.
Few little one person ride machines are working with coins, so it is suggested to have few pound with you as cash if your child is that age.
There are different farm animals around the park, there is opportunity to feed them, but not from hand to mouth. They are to roam free in their own place, not really interested in visiting humans. In the park there is plenty of little kiosks offering food, drinks, freshly made donut 🍩 ice cream. A cup of coffee was £3.70 which is quite pricey but well.. other food stuff like burger and chips and combos like this was £6-8 (if my memory serves right) all kiosks had accepted card.
I saw lot of ppl with buggies, but the walking paths are grainy, not concrete, so if your child is over 3, I would probably skip buggies unless you have a nice big wheel on it.
I tried to put rules of rides as photo as well as one of the cafe kiosk’s offer too.
Definitely a great day, we will be visiting again.

Amazing place to take my 5 yr old son. He enjoyed it to the fullest. We stayed in the farm for 5 hrs till closure and he would still want to spend more time. Spending time with farm animals to the wonderful events, from the awesome rides to delightful food - I would recommend this place for everyone having kid less than 6-7 yr old to visit OMD. Time flies here, so make sure you come in early to experience it all.

Well maintain, We had a GREAT DAY!
I been here 5 years ago with my nephew, this time I taking my own 3 year old boy!
Everything still pretty well maintaining, bring back all lovely memory I had.
My kid loves all the rides (especially the TRACTOR, we manage to ride 4 times), queue was not long and it was very quick.
Few different type and age range of playgrounds, and we got surprise there is a MAGIC shows too.
The burger is nice, fried are super crispy. Good variety of food and drink and couple food stall make us easy to reach when we need.
If you kids want a quiet afternoon nap, can consider go near the event tent area. It is quiet and calm when no event is held.
It is not huge but good for little one , and plenty of hand wash facility.
Personally I don't like the petting animal, I find the animal are stress and keep trying to run away from kid.

It so existed than we expected. The very first time we experienced snowfall was in December (11th Dec) from my history in London. It was not very crowded when we visited in the morning. But, during the daytime average crowd. The waiting time was a maximum of 5 minutes for a ride. A Hot coffee break and 2 rides then a Hot snack break and 2 rides. So the Cafe and quick food service was amazing, but the queue was longer than any rides. 😆
We enjoyed it a lot as a family. Hope you guys will have a great time this holiday. Merry Christmas.🎄🎅❄️

Great family day out.
It gets very busy so you have to pre-book tickets online. Get in early to find parking on site which is free.
It has a nice range of animals and a few shows to entertain young kids. Has a few places to eat and get hot drinks and desserts.
The best part of the farm is the rides and play areas that come included in the purchase of the ticket.
Highly recommended if you have children under the age of 10.

Highly recommend and great day out for your little one!
You can buy food to feed the animals, where there’s little slots to put the food down. I would suggest buy at least 4 packets so your little one can go round feeding most of them.
There’s food stands and picnic areas where you can bring your own snacks to sit down and eat.
It’s playful and fun. So much to do and see here.
Second time he’s been here and we would come again.
Thank you for accommodating.

This was an amazing day out with the family. There are activities for children of all ages, from soft play to tractor rides, petting animals and little rollercoasters. It was fantastic. I also really appreciated how halal was also catered.
We booked in advance which also meant we saved a little money. The circus was a summer feature and the children really enjoyed it. The train ride was definitely one of the highlights. The driver was full of energy and even brought some of the animals up close for everyone to see
Definitely will be coming back here again.

For the first time today we spent the day at the Halloween half term! We all had such a wonderful day. There was so much to do for the children and the staff were so friendly. We was greated as soon as we got into the park by two lovely staff member's. I would like to make a shout out to warren who worked on reception. We was visiting with a family member who has additional needs but there was some confusion with the ticket. Upon arrival he was wonderful! Very understanding and helpful. He apologised for the mix up and made sure we got a wristband for the rides. We have been many places similar in the past but this was the first time we have been treated so well and warren was very calm about the situation which made it so much smoother entry. Very pleased & will be visiting again. 100% would recommend.

A fun filled day spent with kid who loved the rides and animals. They have various rides like tractor, train, crazy barn, horse adventures, a carousel horse ride and a roller coaster (high restriction of 1.2 meter applies) etc. They have a gigantic slide but is only suitable for kids up to 10 years of age. There are animals such as cows, alpacas, meerkats, guinea pigs, tortoises, rabbits, sheep, goats and chickens etc. They have a soft play area for kids. I would suggest to buy tickets online as you get a slight discount. Children under 2 go free. Cafe is good too and plenty of parking spaces. Friendly staff.

First time here. Parking space is good. Price is reasonable although adult charges are high for the use. Weather was ok albeit a bit rainy. Most rides were on. Lots of play areas for children of different age. Farm animals and some other animals (wallabies etc.) spread around. Had coffee from one of the stands which I wouldn’t recommend. Did not try the food. It must be much nicer to visit during spring/summer.

As we didnt check that, not sure, but we think that its better to have a car or taks Uber, as this nice place is away from common roots. Otherwise very nice place to spend a day in summer with your children. There are farm animals kids can learn about, funny statues of farm animals, a lots of places to run, have fun and if your kid is not too much into pigs, goats or chicken, there are few rides even I as adult enjoyed. We celebrated 2yo Birthday and it was awesome and he enjoyed every bit. Try it!

Brilliant place...considering we went in the pouring rain, yes there is a lot to do outside but there was soft play inside and the odd thing inside too. Even a few protected rides.
This was our first visit and pleasantly surprised that there is concrete flooring throughout the farm so no need for wellies.

All kids had a ticket for free pumpkin which thought was a lovely thought. Efficient parking facilities. The cafe option, could do with an enclosed indoors for rainy day, was lucky with the weather on our day.
Bluewater Shopping Centre, located in Greenhithe, Kent, is a popular destination for avid shoppers. The mall features department stores and fashion shops where visitors can indulge in retail therapy. Additionally, the centre boasts lakeside dining options and a cinema for entertainment purposes. In addition to traditional shopping activities, Bluewater offers other activities such as an artificial beach with amusement rides and a hangloose zip wire experience. Friendly staff are on hand to assist visitors at both the mall and beach area.
Bluewater has so many stores and

The Bluewater shopping centre is more than just another shopping centre. Besides the regular shops, restaurants and coffee shops that adorns it, the centre also has cinema theatres, parks and gardens. The free car parking areas are so extensive such that you don't have to worry about getting a parking space when visiting. The centre is a beehive of activities with lots of tourists in attendance.
There is a man made pond called the "The Pond of Reflection", this pond is graced with loving looking geese.

Bluewater is a large, modern shopping centre located in Kent, England. It is home to over 300 stores, including high street favourites like Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, and H&M, as well as more exclusive brands like Louis Vuitton and Gucci. There is also a wide variety of restaurants and cafes, making it a great place to spend a day shopping and eating.
I recently visited Bluewater and was pleasantly surprised by how pleasant the shopping experience was. The centre was busy, but not too crowded, and it was easy to get around. The stores were well-organized and easy to find, and there were plenty of helpful staff members on hand to offer assistance.
I also appreciated the fact that Bluewater has a lot of free parking. This is a major plus, as parking can be expensive in London. Overall, I had a very positive experience at Bluewater and would definitely recommend it to others.
Here are some of the pros and cons of Bluewater shopping centre:
Pros:
Large selection of stores
Variety of restaurants and cafes
Easy to get around
Free parking
Clean and well-maintained
Cons:
Can be crowded at peak times
Some stores are quite expensive
Not as much character as some other shopping centres
Overall, I would give Bluewater shopping centre a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. It is a great place to shop, eat, and spend a day out. However, if you are looking for a more unique or characterful shopping experience, you may want to try somewhere else.

Unbelievably busy today… definitely need to arrive before 12, that was our first mistake, couldn’t find anywhere to park (took at least 10 mins driving round), tried to get something to eat, never seen a busier food court, zero tables, queues for every eatery. Then to top it off, the popular shops were so busy you had to squeeze past people left right and centre, not particularly enjoyable… On a positive note, the choice of shops and restaurants was impressive. In particular loved the Amazon shop, staff were brilliant and the experience in there was great.

One of the nicest , cleanest shopping centers in the UK , It is so great , it has a multiple brands of almost every shop you can expect, it is so practical and well connected to main roots , car parking is available and free , the restaurant choices are very good and the place is so well maintained, I never came to this place and left disappointed with anything, the restrooms are so clean , the air conditioning is so efficient, and over all it deserves a visit .

Massive place with lots of shops and parking, which is free. You have John Lewis at one end and House of Fraser at the other, with lots of different stores in between. The only place for TVs is John Lewis, so there is a gap here.
Very well decorated, well lit, several toilets, the NC disability and family ones.
Desperate to leave by the end of it. Make sure your phone is charged and your credit card is locked away before entering though.

Bluewater is a decent shopping centre. It’s a medium sized one, so it’s pretty big, but not too big. I’d prefer it over Westfield, as it doesn’t get too busy.
It has a wide range of shops, like north face, Zara and pretty much anything you can ask for.

Bluebell Railway, located at Sheffield Park Station, offers a nostalgic experience with its 1880's station and heritage railway line. Visitors can admire steam engines on display, explore the museum, and browse the gift shop. The railway welcomes dogs with special canine tickets to board the old steam trains that run daily from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead. For those seeking a leisurely walk, taking the train to Horsted Keynes and then walking back across the fields is recommended.
A beautiful steam heritage railway near the South Downs National Park. We were fortunate enough to visit on a beautiful sunny day with the bluebells along the route flourishing! We didn't get the opportunity to stop along the way because of time constraints but it's obvious that there's so much more to see. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you like heritage railways or great British history!

What an amazing day out, Everyone loved!! 3 Children 3, 7 and 15 and they all enjoyed the train ride. The journey on the Steam Train is just the right length, we went all the end of the line and came back and got off at the station with the elephant carriage for the younger children to play in.
The Steam work sheds are brilliant and the children can actually touch the trains and there is a simulation where they can have a go at driving a steam engine.
Overall an amazing day out, especially when the children were only £1!!!

Downloaded a special offer for the Bluebell railway that enables visitors to get 2 adults in for £28. Excellent value for money with a wonderful step back in time travelling in old carriages pulled by a steam loco. Great museum and book shop. The journey is about 45 minutes with a couple of stops on the way.
Very friendly volunteers who are doing an excellent job. Even if you are not a railway enthusiast, this is a great day out for all the family.

Excellent steam railway experience. Would recommend the trains with disabled access and buffet cars as you get to walk up and the carriage / train. The first class cabins are big comfy chairs. The alternative train has individual cabins with no corridors. If you travel the full line then its about 40 minutes each way but that goes really quickly.

Attended a murder mystery here, ‘Dead on Time’ (set at the end of the 1920s) and everything about the evening was superb!
The scene was set in a theatre environment above the bar before boarding the train. Our dining carriage, Christine, dated from the same era and has been beautifully restored. The food was good, service was very friendly and attentive, and the steam train journey through the beautiful countryside was stunning.
As for the murder mystery, the actors were brilliant; individually visiting each table twice during the meal to be quizzed by us amateur detectives. An absolute brilliant evening; I’d rate it 6 stars if I could.

Lovely day out seeing seeing well preserved steam engines and historic station buildings. The carriages too are authentic of course. The staff are very helpful and keen to answer questions about the railway. The restaurant is reasonably priced and the food was good. Not cheap for a family of 3 adults and one child but worth it! Children's tickets are cheaper.

What a lovely day out...
Visited with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson. The staff were really helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
Had a lovely ride up to East Grinstead and back.
The shop is lovely and has all sorts of things. We bought some pictures and a wooden train for our grandson. The staff looked after them for us, until after our ride on the train.
All in all, a lovely day out.
Thoroughly recommended.
Thank you. 😊

So much to see at this place. First take a train ride to the end and back. Then the museum and the steamwork (kids loved this place(also the older kids 40+)). A lovely shop with helpful and friendly staff (got now a nice Christmas bubble to the tree) and the second hand shop. We also had dinosaurs at the station and the museum, had a lucky pick of the day. But they have done so much here for all generations to see.

Bluebell Railway has been a visiting place for my family since we were kids. It was loved and treasured by my father and it's now consequently his resting place. The staff are amazing and accommodated the request of myself and my brother to commemorate our father in a recent visit and we added some roses to the coal box on the active steam train that day.
Bluebell has retained all it's charm over the years and it's still a pleasure to visit and to see the restoration projects completed or on the go. We also enjoyed the train ride to East Grinstead followed by a cuppa and snacks in the restaurant. The gift shop has definitely improved and I was impressed with the selection on offer. This time as the flying Scotsman was in town we got to see it from a distance and there was a good selection of supporting merch in the shop.
Thanks to the Bluebell staff and the people operating the steam train that day, you made it so special that my brother and I could visit and celebrate our father, he adored railways and he would have been proud to see all the amazing work you still do to retain such important heritage.

I absolutely loved the Bluebell Railway; my partner and I had the afternoon tea for his 60th birthday, and we had a wonderful time on board. The food was delicious, impeccable service (Robert on the Ashdown carriage was so friendly, kind, and gregarious. All the staff were brilliant), the bluebells and views were stunning and we felt sad to have to get off. We'll definitely be returning xx

We had a great time riding on the trains and learning about locomotive history. Unfortunately due to the storms a few nights before one of the main stations had no power so we weren't able to get off and enjoy the play area there. This information wasn't updated on the website so we had to re-jig our morning.
Cafe was great, toilets were clean and there was plenty of parking. Staff were very helpful and friendly with the children. We hope to go back in the summer and explore some more!

Just love this railway. Lots of steam engines on display and operating. Uniformed staff fit the scene perfectly. If the platform staff were a little over the top on safety at times. Always has special days set up throughout the year with dinner Pullmans on Sundays.

From the moment we arrived we found staff/volunteers kind and friendly. Unfortunately, I didn't get the gentleman's name but as soon as we arrived he asked if we had been before (we hadn't) and he then went through where everything was, the train timetables, the interactive parts of the steam works and where the Flying Scotsman was. He couldn't have been more helpful. The steam works was amazing as there was so much to see and do for our young children. We took a ride to the end of the line and back again pulled by Camelot (possibly new favourite train for the 4 year old!) and then we got to experience the Flying Scotsman footplate. We had an extremely enthusiastic child with us and everyone we met was willing to share their knowledge and stories about steam trains. Great day out.

Haven't been here before. A nice 22 mile round trip. We also had a ploughman's lunch on the train. Warehouse full of steam trains they have collected over the years. A lovely informative museum. Cafe and ice cream parlour and a shop. I definitely recommend this place. I'd advise people to park at Sheffield Park end of the line.

This is our third visit back to the Bluebell Steam Train Railway experience. I have treated my wife for her birthday to a vegan high tea once now, and the next time was for our wedding anniversary. We also did the 'Steam Lights' night time experience, which was nice and is great for the kids. As far as the high tea goes, the whole experience is beautiful. The staff are super friendly and they all go above and beyond. From the station staff to the carriage crew. The vegan high tea is exquisite, and the staff are always ready to refill you teapot! I love the ethos of the Bluebell Railway, as the whole place is run by volunteers. It's like stepping into a time machine back to the golden age of steam. Paying that little extra for the 1st class carriage is well worth it. If you want a romantic present for the love of your life then look no further!
Highly recommend this experience for all you romantics.

Lovely railway. Very friendly staff, who are mostly volunteers. Terrific museum on the platform and locos displayed in a visitor shed. There is a nice model shop (bought a loco there). Will visit again.

A lovely family day out at a, reasonable price. We went when Bluey was there too so the little one loved it!
Only thing I'd say is they would make a killing if they had more room at the Sheffield Park station for the restaurant. It is quite small with not much room to sit down

To the team at Bluebell Railway, Thank-you so much for making yesterday such a brilliant experience. I can’t tell you how much this meant. It was fantastic! Thank-you Teresa for being so kind and thoughtful, such an amazing opportunity for the kids to see their Daddy drive a train, a brilliant memory for them. A dream come true for my husband. Thank-you!

My son adores it here. It’s his favourite place to visit. The wonderful museum has locomotive engines you can climb on and play with, a nice cafe and good secondhand engine toys. Horsted Keynes has a play carriage and shop. The trains are great fun and if you buy a membership, tickets are quite reasonable. All run by kind and knowledgeable volunteers. Fantastic.

Ice skating here, this week only for the school holidays. It was well over priced, especially paying an additional £5 to hire a penguin/snowman/polar bear. Still give it 5* as the staff were great and my daughter and her friend loved it

Visited the steam lights, we were in a 3rd class private cabin which sat 6 on very comfy seats, other classes are available. We set off on our 25min outbound trip to hosted Keynes at 8:05pm, upon arrival we spent 30mins marvelling at the lights and watched the engine change ends of the train. We then embarked on our trip back to Sheffield park station. The lights along route were magical with a magic sound alerting you when a light was alongside. Both stations had toilets and café/bar facilities. Would recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

Shorne Woods Country Park is a vast 288-acre park with an abundance of woodlands, lakes, wetlands and meadows. It offers a range of facilities including a visitor centre and cafe, as well as marked paths for walking and biking. Additionally, the park features lovely trails that were once part of an old clay quarry surrounded by hills. There are numerous routes available for various levels of difficulty with clear markings throughout.
It was my first time visiting Shorne Park and I must say it is not going to be my last time. A lot of places, trails to follow, nice woody areas.
The playgrounds are very cool for children.
I'm glad that there were no rubbish, good that people take their rubbish with them.
Dog pond must be very popular with dog walkers.
They serve open fire oven baked pizza 👀 delicious 🤤

A great place for an interesting woodland wander. There is a large car park which costs £3 for the day. Very reasonable. There are a few choices of way marked paths. There are some amazing trees, bodies of water, carvings and more to see as you explore.

Lovely trails on the site of an old clay quarry and the surrounding hills. There are lots of very well marked routes depending on how strenuous you want your walk to be.
Parking was 2.30 per day (you can't buy less) but there was lots of space. There is a visitor centre (Pro tip, get a map there).

Large country park with numerous walking trails, some longer and more challenging than others. Running track and also exercise points along the way like monkey bars, jumps etc etc. for kids there is a great play area and there are picnic tables nearby too!
The park also has its own cafe with indoor seating and outdoor seating if you have your dog or just prefer it. Guide dogs are allowed inside. There is takeaway pizzeria and ice cream cabin but this was closed when I visited.
If you don't mind the mess, there is a dog pond .
There are toilets on site.
The car park is large and spaces for those with disabled badges is provided. Parking is charged at a rate of £3 but this is for the whole day.

The park has been upgraded here and is fab with equipment suitable for children of all ages. Plenty of woodland walks ,especially nice for older children. The cafe is nice too. My only complaint is that the loos are a long way from the play area for smaller children. Finding a parking space can be hard but it is the best park for miles now.

Amazing place to walk! Loads of different areas and good paths for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters, as well as wooded areas etc if you want to get away from everyone! . My dog loved it as she is very nervous so being able to explore the woods and run round and not have any worries was great! My only issue was the car park fee of £4 at weekends or £3 during the week! Seems a bit unfair penalising those who work during the week to pay a £1 more! X

Large Country Park, we spend 2 hours walking around, such interesting places to enjoy the beauty of nature, massive grounds to relax.♥️
Shorne Woods was once part of the medieval Cobham Hall Estate and many historical artefacts have been found on the site of the old manor.
In the 1920s the area was used for clay extraction before being used as an army camp during World War II.
The park has been awarded the Gold Medal in the Country Parks category of the South and Southeast in Bloom.👏

There is a large playground area broken into 3 areas for various ages and abilities. There are a number of trails to choose from to keep the kids busy and interested. We chose the exercise path. Promenade Park is a historic Victorian riverside park that offers an impressive ornamental lake, forested paths for strolling and various play areas for children. The park is particularly popular with families during the summer months due to its large splash pad and other fun activities. It features mature tree-lined avenues, a pirate ship-style playground, duck feeding spots, mini-golf course and even a petting zoo. The area also boasts food outlets that serve fish and chips, bacon sandwiches and more.
Love Maldon. It's fairly dog friendly and we love the walk across the river and a lunch in our favourite pub. Lunch first, then walk, then ice cream. Then pop up to the Maldon Coffee Company for a variety of blends, ground your way, or a takeaway coffee.

Love it there. It's good for the kids. Have a massive playpark and splashpark when the weather is better. Lovely day out for the whole family. Have got quite a few places to eat if you want to grab some food. Or there are a few places to sit in and eat. Also, a lovely walk along the water and loads of boats to spot. Do go there often, especially when the weather is nice. Kids love it. They also have a little zoo and a mini golf if you fancy something extra. But overall, it is a lovely day out load of parking space.
Reka Hotoran — Google review
A lovely place to walk and see the boats, and things to keep the kids entertained as well: an impressive pirate ship-style play area, a splash park that's open in the summer, ducks to feed, a petting zoo, mini golf...the list goes on! There's car parking on-site but we parked in Maldon and walked along the water to get there. A few little food places on-site too, selling fish and chips, bacon sandwiches, sausage rolls and the like.
Emily Henley — Google review
A fantastic place to go for a family day out, a dog walk, or birdwatching at low tide. Huge grassy open spaces for picnics, ball games - we have seen the space used for large family celebration gatherings.
Wonder towards the promenade (affectionately know locally as ‘The Prom’ and there’s a large fenced in play area (note that no dogs are allowed inside the park). Here there is the popular pirate ship - a huge climbing and play ship, a zip wire, beach hits for hire, a shaded picnic area and the splash park.
See the website for details of splash park ticketing. It gets very popular in the summer so it’s a good idea to book up and pay in advance.
The latest developments include mini golf and a petting zoo.
There is also a well used skate park and ample parking. A small amount of parking is available in a small car park at the bottom end of the car park (easy reach to the fish and chip shop although Maldon has plenty). Follow the signs to a huge field car park. All day for £6 - bargain for what could be a free day out.
You can walk along the prom to the statue of a Britnoth who commemorates the Anglo Saxons who warded off the first Viking invasion.
Views across the estuary are beautiful whatever the time of year; the area is frequented by water birds at low tide. You can walk along the promenade into town; Maldon is full of independent shops, especially coffee shops although there are plenty of snack shacks open along the prom itself selling everything from cold drinks and coffee to ice creams and fish and chips.
Helen Waring — Google review
Lovely walk for a whole family. Great views over the river Chelmer. You can watch some amazing boats leaving the small port.
For shipwrecks turn right by the Maldon yacht club and follow the pathway to a viewing point. Watch the nettles.

Really great place to have a walk or let the kids burn off some energy. There is a carpark that you have to pay for (Ringo app) but it's not too badly priced. For children there is a play park a load of ramps and BMX track.

Amazing day out for those with little ones.
The splash park was shut which was expected due to it being spring but amazing value for money, the small businesses are amazing value compared to other seaside resorts and the play area was perfect for my two young child.
Good day out and would recommend

Upon entry to the large carpark area and purchased your ticket you can head off to several directions depending on how your day is planned. PLEASE NOTE DISABLED BADGE HOLDERS PARK FOR FREE!! Just display your badge clearly.
You can head straight yo the several play areas, kick a ball on the grass, wander along the estuary edge towards yo pub or lake to grab a bite or drink from the many very cheap vendors or head the other way for a spot of crabbing.
It really is much bigger than it seems here with ample parking and toilets too. There is a mini petting zoo but that's pay entry which when it 1st started years ago was a fiver a family now its more than that each person. Shame really. You can but a ice cream for undef £1.50 or cheap chips coffee etc too. There is usually an ice cream van near the play area mugging poor parents off with over inflated prices so try to use one of the permanent buildings for your drinks and snacks but personally I'd just bring a picnic.
As mentioned within this sub review that this place used to be atot better but it seems Maldon council seem a bit begrudge to spend any money on it. Speculate to accumulate guys. It's tired and needs more than a dab of paint it needs investment desperately

We enjoyed a lovely family day out here. It was our first time here, but it her family members have been many times. Booked an early slot in the splash park, which the children really enjoyed. We also booked 2 huts to cover our family. This was a fab base for our day. Storing the buggies and excess luggage. While in the huts, we texted through an order to the cafe, which was quick and easy to do, and will def be doing again.

Maybe because I am lucky enough to live close by, but I love this place and should come here more often.
Something here for everyone - the sun is a welcome addition.
Soultasia music festival is just one of the many events that take place throughout the year.
All the ducks and birds trying to make sense of the partially frozen lake - beautiful.

It was a really great experience and will definitely be back with the whole family. What a great place where the animals are looked after properly with fantastic themed enclosures. We're not local so visited as part of a trip away. Great layout and some lovely animal enclosures, but if you are not visiting with kids or want to go on the rides it's quite expensive even if you book in advance. No large species apart from camels, but a lot of the animals were active, especially the coatis!

We purchased the tickets on the day and our kids had a wonderful day. tickets can be purchased online, but the date cannot be changed or refunded, we did this last month but our daughter caught chicken pox and couldn't go, shame that online tickets cannot be refunded or changed even in exceptional circumstances.

We visited on a Sunday and hadn't been there for a good few years but it hadn't appeared to have changed too much. The animals are still the best thing about the park with a wide variety and great knowledge/fact boards around each enclosure. The staff are always more than happy to answer any questions and talk about the animals. The sloths were a high point and looked amazing.
Once you get through the animal section you're in the children's play area, while the majority is free, a lot of the activities aren't which, considering it was £33 each (for both adult and child tickets), seemed a but unfair. The new attraction called Spark was heavily promoted but once you get there it too has a charge, and also was entirely booked up for the day according to the guy on the Spark entrance desk, so that didn't help with the kids moods, or mine.
The train hasn't changed a bit and is still highly entertaining (for me anyway). The rides that were free were great and on the day we visited they weren't busy at all.
Overall it's worth a visit for the animals, but be prepared for difficult child conversations when it comes to the playground.

Our children absolutely loved it. Very interactive and lots of the exhibits have stamps to collect and quiz questions in the style of lifting flaps that the children loved. Food was reasonably priced and the coffee helped. The rides had a short wait time and are great for under 8s. The play area is huge and features an indoor soft play and a splash park.
Only let down was the cost.

I have visited Drusillas Park twice within a month. First time my granddaughter and I went with our Toddler group in a little coach. The children all very excited, started by looking at the animals. The water play area was very popular as a very hot day. I think she like the trampoline next followed by the fair ground rides. We left the park by 1.45 the toddlers all had a fabulous time and many fell asleep on the way home.
Second time was with my daughter and same granddaughter, although only 3 today she knew where she was and was happy to show her mummy the animals. Not so hot today so some of the animals where having a walk about in their enclosures, lovely to see. Again our little one knew the way to the trampoline and fair ground rides. We took a picnic, there are plenty of places to sit, but little one was to busy to eat. We ended the day by going in the shop and getting a new toy and an ice cream. A very happy and worn out little birthday girl in the car home.
Great place to take children to start learning about animals and to have lots of fun too.

Absolutely love this zoo, we come here a couple of times a year and really enjoy the experience we have.
It's lovely seeing this zoo improve over the years adding new exhibits with plenty of space for each set of animals.
Even got to see the new additions of animals and new babies which is lovely. If you get here around lunchtime you will be able to see most the animals getting feed. Which is a brilliant experience and the keepers are wonderful and full of enthusiasm and love showing the animals off like placing food in view of the windows to view.
The amount of personal experiences you can book as well for feeding and petting is brilliant.
We will be back again soon 👍

We had an excellent day at Drusillas Park (despite the rain). The zoo featured lots of small animals that you can get up close to. The highlight of the day was the great parks and play areas. Food quality was good and reasonably priced.
We visited with children aged between 1 and 8. They had a blast and I think these are the perfect age to really take advantage of all the things this place has to offer.
With younger children this is easily a full day experience but I can see with teenagers or just adults it would only take a few hours.
One star knocked off purely because it is more on the expensive side compared to similar attractions.

Lovely zoo for young children. My grandson loved the huskies and seeing Father Christmas. The zoo was full of small animals and he enjoyed seeing the otters and birds he could feed. He also enjoyed the train ride. The Sparks attraction is a very good addition.
We only had one problem and that was the lack of signs to get from one area to another. Apart from that l do recommend a visit

Went just before Christmas so it was a cold day but it was great to have lots of covered areas to veiw the animals which I didn't expect. Nearly all of the animals could be veiwed, inside there dens (some didn't want to venture out), there is plenty to see and do to keep kids and adults entertained for hours and hours. The cafe's are spacious too with plenty of seating inside and out.

Old Leigh Studios Gallery is a small but well-maintained art gallery that displays work by local potters, including Richard Baxter and Julie Saunders. The artists' studios are located nearby in Old Leigh, which makes it a great place to visit if you're looking for some beautiful ceramics to take home. There are plenty of eating options nearby as well, so make sure to stop by on your way down town.
Beautiful gallery in the heart of Leigh on Sea.

First time here. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit and many of the items reminded me of my childhood. Tin bath and ceramic hot water bottles. Deep joy 😊

Superb ceramics on display from two potters - Richard Baxter and Julie Saunders, beautifully displayed in a studio near the bustling waterfront of Old Leigh. A great place to visit and loads of eating options.

Scotney Castle, a National Trust property, boasts both castle ruins and a Victorian mansion set in vast woodland and parkland. The house appears grand from the outside but is furnished comfortably as a country home inside. The gardens are well-tended with beautiful floral arrangements on display during the flower festival. A ruined castle and moat provide scenic views at the valley bottom, while lambs add to the charm of this picturesque location.
Lovely gardens with the ruined castle in the valley bottom. The house looks very grand, but inside it's furnished as a comfy country house. The flower festival was on when we visited. The rooms were decorated with beautiful floral arrangements. The grounds are extensive, with plenty of hard paths so very wheelchair/mobility scooter friendly.
Sandie Packman — Google review
Excellent in all respects. The house is fully furnished and was lived in until 2006. You get to see more than 50% of it. The grounds are generally wheelchair accessible although there are some large slopes. They have a modern toilet block with disabled and baby changing facilities. They have a cafe although the choice is fairly restricted. If you are holidaying in the Sussex / Kent area I would strongly recommend you buy an annual National Trust subscription we have already got back our Couple subscription (£106.00) by visiting just 4 National Trust sites and still have 11 months remaining.

Lovely day out, grounds are absolutely stunning, so peaceful too! Free entry for National Trust members! Staff all over the site and at the cafe are really friendly and clearly love what they do. Would definitely recommend a visit! :)

A site that could easily be overlooked but is well worth a visit.
The castle ruins are still beautiful, the setting is almost fairytale in appearance. The main building is now home to an emotion stirring art exhibition.
The gardens, which incorporate the quarry used to excavate stone for the main house, are very pleasant with walks around the estate.
The house itself is very interesting, contrasting rooms some a little dour, others bathed in light and airy.
The most notable feature, in my opinion, is the wonderful collection of paintings from several periods that literally cover every wall space.
A delightful discovery.

We finally got round to using our National trust memberships...
A 45 minute journey brought us to a beautiful site. We were guided in from the initial parking attendants were we were given a map to show us what was to offer.
Our daughter took charge in guiding us!
We decided to do a walk around the fields of the castle which took us roughly 45 minutes ( not forgetting that we left our wellies in the car...🫣)
When we got back to the main facilities, we sat outside and enjoyed a Red pepper soup and cheesy wedges from the coach House cafe. Which, was very tasty.
As we initially took the long route around we missed the castle. So, this time we walked through past the secondhand bookshop and through the tranquil gardens. We finally got to walk through and around the castle which looked stunning in its setting.
As a family, we had a fantastic time and made a whole day of it.
Thanks for having us 😁👍

What a beautiful castle! This has definitely been one of my favourites. The castle and the surroundings are breathtaking. There is a small playground and many spots to sit or for a picnic. Staff are friendly and enhance the whole experience. Definitely recommend a visit!

Beautiful place to visit, staff were very welcome and knowledgeable and the food was very yummy! Great for children and grown ups of any age. A place we will visit over and over again. If you are a national trust member you can book a space for the car park in advance, if you turn up on the day there is additional parking with a beautiful 8-10 minute walk through woodland.

I loved visiting Scotney Castle during recent holiday in Kent. We went on a whim and luckily there was space in the car park as it was a weekday. Man recommended booking in advance next time.
House was wonderful and the tour was very well organised. The wider grounds are beautiful with signed walking routes so you don't get lost. The old house was open so we were able to go in too. I think the hours are limited and dependent on volunteers being available.
Highly recommended

An excellent day out, a smallish house (for this type of venue at least, or at least the public areas were) which the children took us through quickly. Fantastic gardens, well kept, the ruined castle and moat at the bottom of the grounds was very scenic, there were lambs, and the rustic children's play area was a hit with our 5 and 8 year olds. Recommended.

Great castle to visit with two separate parts - old castle and new house. It has a long and rich history and beautiful trails.
It's easy accessible with parking and overflow parking, big tearoom with outside space, and fantastic National Trust staff members. It's worth visiting for sure!

Fantastic grounds. Unfortunately the castle itself wasn't open on the day we visited as it was closed for its winter clean. But the grounds were lovely to walk around, especially with the autumn colours. Though not massive, but big enough for a wander around for an hour or so.

Scotney Castle is a wonderful place to spend time with your family. Impressive house, ruins and beautiful gardens. There is a small playground for kids and many spots to sit and enjoy the nature. Free entry for National Trust members. Would definitely recommend a visit

Lovely spot for a visit. Plenty of walks & lovely sights to see.
Definitely a must to book parking in advance though.
The cafe has plenty of seating but gets extremely busy at peak times, with very long queues as a result.
Lots of people parked on the entry & exit roads (as presumably they didn't pre-book), which is more than a little annoying when trying to enter or leave the site.

We just visited Scotney castle and grounds for their Halloween trail, it was beautiful with the autumn colours popping out everywhere.
The food at the cafe was delicious, the staff was super friendly and informative - we’ll be back!
I would advise to book your car parking in advance on their website to avoid disappointment on the day.

Lovely place in the countryside of Kent. Is a medium size castle the old castle is inhabited, is part destroyed. I was in love with the architecture the water around the castle. A new Manor House was built few yards away from the old castle. That house is warm and cosy. The library is just stunning with books dated 1500s people working in there are nice and polite. You have yo book or pay for a car park extra £4.50 adults entrance £17.00… they have a nice coffee shop and souvenirs store. The gardens need some more work.
Ljubica Banic — Google review
A really worthwhile visit. Not only is there the castle itself which is really interesting to look around, there is also the very impressive main house. This is decorated in the style of different eras depending on when you visit. At the time of out visit it was decorated as it would have been in the 60s which was actually a very interesting insight compared to some other period properties. There were very knowledgeable staff throughout the house. The tea room was excellent.

Scotney is a long standing favourite of ours. Set in a beautiful location. A picture postcard castle overlooking wonderful grounds. A good walk ( lots of slopes)..Good shop and cafe with decent food.
Accessible to all if needed. Compared to some other National trust properties its well worth a visit.
Especially at Christmas 🎄
Adventure Island is a free-admission fun park with more than 40 rides and attractions from rollercoasters to ghost trains. It’s centrally located in the Southend experience for families and adults who are young at heart, with 32 rides in all. Blue rides include Big Adventure rides, Junior Rides are green rides and Mini Ride are red rides.
We had such a brilliant day here today. So much fun we ended up upgrading to an annual pass! Kids loved it. Such a great variety of rides for all ages, sizes and fears! The staff were all really energetic and helpful and the park was spotlessly clean. Can't wait to come back.
Kerry Santucci — Google review
I came twice. First I bought the tickets and it is one per ride any ride so no complications. Second I got a band as it means all twice completely paid for. The staff were enthusiastic the whole time and had good banter for the day and kept the joy of the day going with not one going to a phone each keeping engaged with what's going on.
Would recommend for the day as it is a mix of big rides and children's thst adults can still go on so great for a family
Ali R — Google review
We had a great day out at Adventure Island. Entry is free. However, it is recommended to buy the day wristband if possible online as it's much cheaper (yesterday it was 28 in the ticket office but 20 online). Single ticket rides are £3.5. Lots of rides to go on, kids get measured in the entrance and if they are over 120cm they can ride on their own. Under 120cm they will need an adult but the adult will go in the rides for free. Lots of food places inside too.
Isabel Escano — Google review
Kids loved it every moment, they had an incredible time at Adventure Island! From thrilling rides to delicious food, it exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the park was clean and well-maintained, with no more than 10 minutes waiting time for the rides.I can't wait to visit again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a wonderful time with our little one there. we went there over the weekend so the place was a bit crowded, however that was to be expected when the weather was nice and sunny. Some rides had a bit of a queue ( around 10-20 minutes wait), but it was worth it for our little one.
Plenty of food to grab and i would say more than ok seating areas to sit and relax over a cup of coffee/tea.
No parking available there, so you would need to find either road parking or look for pay and display parking spots around.
It was great to see that they also have an indoor play area (soft play) and some arcade games in case the weather is not playing nice.
Overall great day out and we had loads of fun.

Great fun for all the family. Lots of rides for big and little kids. Big wheel, roller coaster etc. Lots of staff/security around too if you need them. Plenty of food options. A good place to visit even on a grey day.

I took my young baby there to the soft play play stack area and she loved it. She enjoyed going through the obstacles, the slides and really loved the ball pit that she didn't want to leave!!!
There's a cafe, arcade stuff for the adults which all the adults enjoyed doing whilst i was inside with my baby.
Definitely a must for any parents
We went at new years so there was lots of Christmas decorations which were all beautiful and my baby enjoyed looking at them!!

Was a great day out that we all loved and would love to do again. Atmosphere was great and lots of different rides for adults and kids, even some calmer rides for smaller kids. Some nice places to get food & drink also. Not too long waiting in queues apart from a couple of popular rides.
A thoroughly great day

It's nice to enter and walk around without having to pay an entry fee. We walked around on a Thursday and it wasn't too busy but got there too late to purchase tickets to get our money's worth. However on the Friday , a public holiday, we decided we will do the half price from 5pm and we had til 10 pm closing time. The park was very busy throughout the day with queues. By the time we got our tickets, the rides were getting less busy which was great. We got to ride each roller coaster at least twice. Rage is the most adult one and though I don't like a full drop, I went on it twice, cause why not. The queues were short. By 9pm we were cold and had enough. But it was time well spent and so much fun.

Not necessarily a place for adults, but children go crazy when here. I took my students on a school trip to Adventure Island, and they had a blast. They ran, they rode, they sang, and they enjoyed every second of the trip.
The place has some fast-food options to eat and many sweets available.
A big shout out to the call centre team that made the booking system very easy, and they supported me all the way. Thank you!
I think AI is a great place for any school trip.

Great small park that appeals to both older thrill seekers and younger families. Could definitely do with a few more thrilling attractions. I would love to see a new rollercoaster but it's great as it is.
Be aware some rides advertised on the website are removed or not open (including their biggest ride time machine), plus it's unclear on how to buy tickets online.

Wish I could give six stars to bring their rating up. Let's start with the good the park is well set out with loads to do for the kids and grown ups alike. Paid for wristbands in advance to save a few quid but even at the gate price they are fantastic value. All the food outlets we tried were great well priced and well staffed. The park was clean and tidy. Now let's move onto the bad.... There was non just even better I have always said the right staff can make a good place great and the excellent staff here make this already great place absolutely fantastic. Every member of staff where working a stall, food outlet, ride or even just walking around all had a smile on their faces on both of our visits. Interacting with the kids when on rides often dancing at the side honestly if you have any bad staff they were hidden on both these days. My at the end of the 1st visit my son came to me and said "we are definitely going here again the staff are lovely" now on our 2nd visit my mam has just said "the staff on this site are unbelievable so happy and helpful". Keep doing what you are doing.

Superb way to spend a whole day with a little one. Plenty of rides and stuff to do throughout the park for an entire day out. Plenty of places to buy food from and somewhat ok seating areas. The place does get quite crowded during busy times and some ride queues have waits of upwards of 10-20 minutes for only like 3 minutes rides. Superb atmosphere and i like that the place also has an "indoor" area where there's soft play and some arcade games in case the weather is not suitable. Parking is a different story as they don't have dedicated parking places so you will have to either find a car park or street parking. Nearby theres loads of them but during busy times it gets quite crowded.

1. Good value for children and families
2. Can spend the whole day
3. Indoor ride is good for younger children and have soft play
4. Annual pass is a must

Oooh Wow it was a beautiful experience, an amusement park with lots of amazing rides, scary and mild ones, we had so much fun and a lot to eat to, and just by sea, you can have picnics at the sea shore, as at evening the tide had gone down and the water at the banks had gone back to the sea, we could even walk on the sea beds and pick shells. I will sure visit again in the future, it was fun with the children and adults alike.
Egy Daniels — Google review
We weren't too sure what to expect from here (picture thoughts of typical seaside amusement parks) but we were pleasantly surprised.
The entry was quite expensive (£22.50) but the super saver wrist band worked out good value if you try enough of the rides. Take your child's Blue Peter badge if they have one for 2-4-1 entry.
Unlike normal theme parks, it's very easy to come and go as you please so easy to pop out for food (plenty of options within 2 minute's walk). The facilities inside the park didn't get great reviews.
We visited on Halloween weekend and the staff were really getting into the spirit!
Plenty of places to park nearby, but the Royal's shopping centre seemed particularly good value.
Rides are good for all ages. Lots of amusements, facilities and also a mini golf course (though this costs extra).
All in all, a good fun day out.

I have really enjoyed my time over there . It's a small heaven for kids .. all the fun games and rides seem really enjoyable..I had a fun time just watching all those kids enjoying themselves. It felt like it was reducing my by with their joyfulness. And the nearby Pier gave me a peaceful walking experience. I will definitely go there in Summer In sha Allah .

Great local fun park. A few good teen/young adult rides. More aimed at primary school age. I observed that security and other staff were friendly & professional. Lots of fun to be had, especially with a day wristband pass. The bonus was the good weather. 22°C.
I'd advise taking a packed lunch. Hour long queue for food. The queue was chaos. It started out as three single orderly lines to each order point but slowly became a morrass of bodies pushing in, that melded into a formless crowd clamouring for overpriced hotdogs, burgers (3 mm thick), chicken nuggets or vegetable wedges. The servers were working so hard but the quality of what they're working with is IMHO substandard. The price doesn't bear any relation to what you receive. I had two bites of the hotdog with onion, mild mustard & ketchup but could eat no more. I reminded me of the 1970s. The kids were disappointed too. They're not snobs but can detect a rip off very well. If you have a severe food allergy, have coeliac disease or are a vegan, be very cautious. Call them up when planning to visit.
Having said all that, I still recommend the park for a few hours. Queues for rides varied between a few minutes to a ½ an hour, so not too bad.
The park is split in two by the pier. A passage takes you under the pier, past an amusement arcade and into the part with the more adventurous rides.
Have fun!

Great place to take the kids. Adults go on free with any kids under 110cm which meant it was a cheap day out with a wristband
Kids had a particularly great time as we timed our visit to a superhero day and the staff engaged our children with genuine enthusiasm.
Only let down was the food situation, tasteless but at a reasonable price compared to many places along the seafront.
Buy tickets in advance (save £8 per daily wristband if bought online in advance... )
Jonathon Lawrence — Google review
Went on public holiday, the wrist band is worth it as you can go on all the rides and depending on how busy it gets you can go on some rides more then once. You can purchase online and save or you can purchase wrist band on the day. If the adventure land is open until 10:30 you can get the wrist band half price after 5pm. You can purchase individual tickets which works out £3.50 for a ride if you know your little on or your self is just going on one or two rides. It’s a great idea to measure your little one hight so you know exactly how much rides they can go on.
They have wheelchair friendly rides.
Staff are amazing and full of energy which is always a great bonus.
They have drinks and snack which you can purchase.
Toilet are available, you may need to wait in a queue depending on how busy it gets.
They have arcade play, you do need to pay separate for that.
Car parking available near the resort how ever it can get really busy, after 6pm parking is free.
This is over all a good place for family and children to enjoy.
In holidays it can get busy but I think they manage it well. The wait time for rides wasn’t bad at all, the longest I had to wait for a ride was 20 min. Which is reasonable considering it was packed.
Nazma Patel — Google review
Variety of rides available with comparatively low waiting period. Totally worth it with full day pass. Park staff is also nice, they interact with kids on ride and keep them engaged.

Wonderful fun for all ages and weather. A day pass is £28 (or £14 after 5pm), but if you book online it's only £20! 😃 A year's pass is great value at £56 if you'll visit more than twice. Lots of fun rides to keep the kids amused, plenty of places to sit, eat and drink, and toilets around the area

If you’re going for the whole day, get tickets online. It’s cheaper. However if going after 5 get on the till. Entry is free. But u need either wrist bands or individual ride tickets to go in the rides. The opening and closing hours are updated daily so make sure to check the website. The website is quite informative and easy to navigate. We had a lot of fun in all the rides and there are some good spots to eat in and around the adventure island.

This place offers fantastic fun for both kids and adults. Normally, I tend to avoid such places due to long queues, but when we arrived around 11:30 on a Sunday morning, there were no queues at all. What's even more impressive is that it's very budget-friendly.

Western Esplanade, Southend-on-Sea, SS1 1EE, United Kingdom
The pier is a well-known landmark in Southend-on-Sea and is home to a museum with displays of historic railway cars, slot machines and costumes from the early 19th century to the early 20th. The pier also has an electric train that takes you all the way to the end, where you can find a lifeboat centre, cafe and shop.
A great historical landmark and the longest pier in the world! The heritage train ride on the Thames Estuary is amazing and a great view on a sunny day. Worth the price and the queue.
You can also walk if you want to.
You have a lot of options for food and drinks in the middle of the river.
The train and the railway was maintained properly, staff professional as usual.
You must head to the pier if you are around

Visited 21/04/22 bought tickets to walk down the pier and get the train back. It was a lovely sunny day but rather windy. Got to the end of the pier had a wander round only the Costa cafe was open this was previously Jamie and Jimmy's cafe. Out of the wind it was really nice and warm sitting on seats at the pier head. Got the new electric train back. These are a lot better than the old trains one.of which had been converted into shelters on the platform and other locations nearby.

A really interesting place to visit from how long the pier is and that it has a railway along it I would have loved to get the chance to travel on the new trains they have but they weren't running and only had the old train running.
I did find there wasn't really much at the end of the pier but it's perfect for those who want to go to the end and just sit and relax watching the ships passing.
It's definitely a place to visit at least once to say you have been.

Pretty impressive pier considering the age and length! Nice stroll and reasonably priced. Only downfall was very limited shops open at the end of pier. Would have been good to have been informed before setting off, otherwise pretty cool for a afternoon trip!!! Would advise going in high tide, didn’t consider that! You can travel one way and walk back or just buy the return for a bit more on the ticket. The views are pretty impressive on a clear day.

I was here with my wife on Saturday, 06/04/24. It was a very windy and cloudy day but not so cold. Best to go on a hot day. The train departs towards the sea every 30 minutes at 00 and 30 minutes past the hour. Return train departs every 30 minutes at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The return ticket costs £7.50. The pier is just over a mile long and the train journey saves you the long walk in the wind. There is a Life Boats building at the end of the pier with a higher level offering beautiful views. The gift shop has many beautiful items on sale. There's also many food and drinks outlets at the end of the pier. The sea is very dirty and the end of the pier would look much better by removing some junk to create more space.

A fantastic experience - took the train out and walked back - 1.33 miles long. Train is so modern and an unusual brilliant thing on a pier. The pier has the RNLI shop and view at the very end - worth a visit and a donation for the great things they do. Also a fantastic little cafe there that does amazing cake and yummy coffee. A pity its costs to go on the pier but suppose it takes a lot to maintain such a long pier.

This was our first visit to Southend, and we loved it. The seafront is a traditional British resort but is well cared for and clean.
The pier was the highlight of our visit. Access is through a modern glass frontage with very helpful staff. You can either walk both ways, take the little light train both ways or what we did, walk out, and train back. All prices were reasonable.
The actual pier is wooden and arout a mile and a third long. It is a delightful walk with plenty or areas to sit if you need to.
We were there as the tide began to come in, and it was great watching the shoals of fish (whitening) following the incoming water.
At the end of the pier, there is the cafe used in the Jamie Oliver TV programme. It's much smaller than you would think
There are also two cafes that share a modern building with outside and inside seating.
The pier invested in modern electric trains, but they broke down after days, so they still use the old engines. To my mind, they are better than the new electric stock.
A great way to spend a morning!

Brilliant and unique railway on one of the longest pier's in the UK. A gentle and scenic journey to the end of the pier and back. Worth the long walk to the Pier itself and especially on an overcast day as the colour of the sea really stands out during this time. You can get the train across but really, there is a serene pleasure to walking across and hearing the calm of the ocean around you. Will come back in the Summer to capture the Pier glazed under peachy evening skies.

Loved the views from the pier and the history behind it. The railway track running in parallel to the walkway adds on to the beauty. We bought the walkway return ticket and it costed us each £2.50. They are concessions for some group of people.
The only suggestion is to have some more varieties of food at the end of the pier( has awesome ice cream collections though!). Definitely one of the must visit spots when you are in Southend !

This is an awesome pier! The deck is beautifully maintained with new boards as necessary. It's a lovely walk to the far end. But sadly, there is very little to do once you're there. We had tea and cake in the café where "Jamie & Jimmy's Friday Night Feast" is filmed. The cakes were commercial - nothing special. There are toilets are the 'land' end. Two temporary toilets - with a queue and the hand-drier not working. A lovely heritage pier - and the best is not being made of it. Needs more amenities and things to occupy you at the far end.

Great little trains to take you to the end of the pier and back. You can walk if you prefer or train one way walk the other £7.50 for a return journey. They go back and forth fairly regularly. We didn't wait either journey but that could've been luck. Plenty of space on board for wheel chair users too.

Southend pier has changed so much over the last 10 years. I visited at the weekend and took the train to the end. Wow completely different to 10 years ago. A flash new train. £6 per adult return on the train. New restaurant at the bottom and a lovely little cafe at the end. Beautiful coloured beach huts at the end and amazing views. Very cold at the end on an overcast late October day.

Love Southend-on-Sea, the pier is beautiful and even on a rainy day, is a fun walk. Also found some of the most incredible wall art I've seen in a while. Great coastal town to visit on the weekend.
Vanessa Warren — Google review
Had a wonderful experience here. They offer a wheelchair for a £50 cash deposit, which they return when you have finished with the chair, and we were able to take it everywhere off the pier also. The train ride was bumpy and noisy as expected and the chips at the end of the journey from the hut at the end were lovey and hot, just what was needed, but mind the gulls, who did mostly stay away.
The pavilion was handy for drinks and toilets. Then the pier was lovely to sit and enjoy watching the sky and water change. I couldn't access the lifeboat section as it was all stairs.

Battle Abbey is a historical landmark that features medieval ruins and a battlefield site. It offers an interactive exhibition, a film about 1066, and a cafe. The place is significant for its role in the history of England as it was where the famous Battle of Hastings took place. Despite being wet and cold on some days, visitors find it fascinating to see the actual location where those historical events happened. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the history behind the abbey.
A wet and cold day in March, so there were not too many people around, which helped to get around and see things. Fascinating to finally see the actual place that those history lessons taught us about. I wouldn't have fancied running up that hill into a hail of arrows, so if I were Duke William, England would still be Anglo-Saxon! Very interesting. Recommended.
Paul Schwer — Google review
Large places to explore including walls around the Battle site and around the buildings and remains. Quite good explanations on the boards and the free audio tour. Loads of stairs and hills to navigate. Even then remains can be a challenge to get around although there is a wheelchair track around the site. Well worth a visit. We were there for 4 hours but did not finish it. There is a visitor centre which is particularly good for children. The cage head a variety of food including vegan and gluten free. We were lucky to see inside battle school since it is school holidays.

Pricey to get in, unless you're a member. Luckily my mum is a member, so my children and I got in with her. We were lucky with the weather. Spent a few hours here. Walked all around, read a few bits. Kids enjoyed it. Nice play park for the kids to enjoy at the end.

Great day out with the kids! Amazing place and history lesson! Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the history behind the Abbey. Walked around the battlefield, climbed up the tower and looked over the whole town. A must see for the family!
DragonBear — Google review
A memorable and educational day out. The atmospheric abbey ruins are brought to life by an informative handheld audio guide. A well presented exhibition includes interactive displays and a short film.
The ruins have been well preserved, while still granting access to most areas. The grounds also include a quaint dairy, walled garden and memorial. Climbing the spiral staircase to the top of the gatehouse tower affords excellent views over Battle and the surrounding countryside.
Excellent facilities, with a large café, gift shop, play area, toilets and on-site parking (paid, but free for English Heritage members). The whole site is dog friendly, including indoor areas.
The battlefield was closed at the time of my visit due to recent heavy rain - worth checking the website in advance if you want to be sure this is open.
Fairly quiet on an overcast Saturday in winter, but being one of the best English Heritage properties in the area, it's a good idea to arrive early in peak season.
Andrew Thomas — Google review
Historic and well maintained. Plenty of parking space outside the property a short walk away from main entrance that is free for EH members. Great kids play area and nice trail to walk through the battlefield. The tower climbs are a little steep but offers great views.

This was a fascinating place, so full of history, well worth the visit. The shop wasn't astronomical in price either. Not cheap, obviously, but not silly money for a lot of the stuff. They are very welcoming and encourage guests to explore. The whole experience was far better than I ever imagined.

Had a great day at Battel Abbey walking around taking in all the historical sights & information. Everything is well laid out. The staff at the Information point were very helpful and convinced us to become members as we are interested in going to other Heritage sites. The whole area is kept clean. The restaurant area was clean and there was a range of food available. The staff there were friendly & helpful. Had a great time walking around and spent a few hours enjoying the sights. The staff at the shop were really friendly & helpfull aswell. Allround a day well spent.👍👌😁
PS : Although there is a good large Carpark there, it does not showup on Google Maps 🤔

We are English Heritage members so got free entry but would've paid full price as it was great! Super dog friendly - we assumed she'd only be allowed in the grounds but was told she could go everywhere including the inside rooms and towers! The audio guide (free!) was very informative and the entire place was excellently looked after. Dropped a star because the woodland park walk was closed so we couldn't walk around the battlefield which would've been nice. Despite not being able to access a large area of the site, we still spent a couple of hours there and had a great time!

Visited as a English Heritage member.
This is also a private school so you will see uniformed students
Free audio machines to use, restaurant and toilets on site.
Great look into the history of Hastings

Exactly as you remember it from your childhood school trips! But dare I say more fun as an adult! Great place to spend an afternoon, short or long walking tours with the shorter tour wheelchair accessible. The staff put on a great little show which explains the story of the battle of Hastings, it's aimed at kids but I loved it. The very best thing about this heritage site is that they are more than happy for you to bring your dogs along, they can even go all the way upto the rooftop view point! Splendid way to spend a day out with furry friends.

Great day out. They had themed events going on and the actors were fab. The walk around was interesting. Kids are 5 and 9 and they seemed to enjoy it. Definitely recommend a visit. The volunteers and staff were very attentive. We took a picnic but there is a cafe and food was reasonably priced and popular.
E “Laineyblue” C — Google review
We really liked it here. We had a guided tour by Robert, a very enthusiastic volunteer, who was knowledgeable and entertaining. The castle is very charming and we felt the history brought alive by his commentary. Looking across the battle field was quite poignant and much of the castle was accessible. The cafe was very nice. The view from the tower was extensive and the little town of Battle pleasant. Loved the little knitted bollard covers.

Fantastic example of architecture at its best.
A truly remarkable and very well preserved castle emanating historic significance. Extremely well kept.
Welcoming staff are pleasant, helpful, friendly and professional.
A great place to visit if you want to learn about the great Battle of 1066.
Well worth a visit, following the castle there is a wonderful quaint characteristic high street to visit with a great array of shops and eateries.

Fabulous place to visit, even my kids found it interesting! Make sure you use the audio guides! Only down side was the cafe was a little on the expensive side, £3.50 for a rice crispy cake!

One of the most important sites in British history and it doesn't dissapoint. From the information films, animations, archaeology, the buildings ruins and battlefield . EH has done brilliantly, information is to the point and not too much, you can use headsets if this is easier. A trip to the top of the gatehouse tower offers panoramic views over the town and wider countryside. Its just dripping in history and is a must visit. Please note on wet days the battlefield walk may be closed due to dangerous conditions underfoot

Wow. Always wanted to go here. Mum is English Heritage member so was lovely to visit with her. Booked online for me as slightly cheaper. No queue and parked in the car park right next to the entrance. Enjoyed a coffee before the Battlefield walk. Not cheap but was good coffee. Be warned!! Only one toilet right at start so make sure you go! The long walk is worth it and grab your audio guide at the start for the immersive experience! Had a fantastic 4 hours exploring. Well worth the money.

Iconic Modernist building from 1935, offering contemporary art exhibitions, eatery, bar and shop.
Wonderful place to visit, rain or shine. There’s always something more than expected here. Autumn events are looking good too.

A surprisingly good venue to see a band. Doesn't look much from the outside but has everything you need including sea views. There is a car park right outside. Go for GA as it is quite an intimate venue and the upstairs seating is quite a way back from the stage.

An interesting art deco building with gallery, restaurant and gift shop within, stocking a nice selection of art related items. Unfortunately, the gallery was closed due to a new installation/exhibition going in at the time of my visit. It is possible to eat outside on the restaurant veranda and you can also visit the roof or top deck. If you are interested glass art ware, I would thoroughly recommend "Rachel's glass store on the colonnade Close by. A superb range of coloured glass works by Rachel Hoath, a local artist. Several restaurants are present in the high street.

Great Art Deco building , well maintained . We had lunch in the restaurant which had a wonderful view of course, the food was delicious high end and at a realistic and affordable price. The staff were very attentive and a pleasure. All in all a great experience which I could repeat regularly. There's free parking around a mile away along the beach which makes for a nice walk or cycle .

A lovely art deco music venue built in 1935. One of the very best concert venues on the south coast with a very reasonably priced restaurant and bar.

Wonderful example of an art deco building with a great vantage poont of a roof terrace and a very photogenic swt of stairs would be a great to double as a portrait location. Varied book shop and the exhibitions we visited were very good if a little small.

Being somewhat of a true Art philistine, De L Warr doesn’t do much for me in that way. If you are into art, probably going to be your destination place. What it does have, is plenty of live bands and other entertainment throughout the year. Showing my age here, but saw Level 42 there, a few months back. This venue also has a great location. On the second floor, there is a Cafe, with doors to an outside balcony, that over looks the sea. On a sunny day, just sit there and watch the world go by….

This was a great place to visit during our day in Bexhill on Sea. All the staff were very nice and helpful. The coffee shop was clean and coffee fresh and tasty, a good selection of cakes and other foods to choose from. Some beautiful artwork was available to view on our visit and the shop had a good selection of books and gifts to choose from. This is a place you can pop in for a short visit and grab a coffee or spend a few hours looking at the art and culture both local and further afield.

Captivating modernist building. There is a great stage with lots of big names visiting, a beautiful bar and kitchen with great views of the beach and channel and plenty of exhibition rooms. The building’s history is very interesting and there is a great book about it for £5 in the Pavilion’s shop.

It’s gorgeous and stunning but I still can’t forgive one of the worse experiences in my life. I watched Tangerine Dreams, they are a rave like dancing legendary music band and the policy was to watch it sitting still. That was not Rachmaninov, it was one of the best uplifting moving music ever. Even the band member were dancing. I was highly perturbed by the experience. Just use common sense please.

Absolutely love this venue, such a great building and they seem to be attracting bigger artists year on year. Have lost count of the gigs I've been to at the DLWP but I'm never disappointed.
The sound and lighting is absolutely fantastic in there.

Went to see a comedian, last minute booking.
Very pleased with service and staff kind and helpful.
The actual theatre let's the building down tremendously.
Worn seats and a totally different feel to the rest of the beautiful building.
It definately needs a refurb.
Like an old village hall to be honest but, I must say the seats were very comfortable.
Let's hope they get some funding to update that area of the building.
Staff, excellent.

We visited the Sussex Guild craft fair here yesterday on a lovely sunny day. There was also an art exhibition on. We went to the cafe upstairs for a cuppa and a piece of cake, which was tasty. Lovely view too! Thought the shop also sold some interesting items made locally.

Never been before Great views out to sea, good coffee shop upstairs. Pavilion free to enter and to see any exhibitions. I lay in a hammock in one exhibition watching and listening to the sounds of jimi hendrix where the walls and ceiling project images of the man. Just a shame you can't view the auditorium unless you are ticketed to see a performance of some sort
The heritage railway in Tenterden offers journeys on vintage steam and diesel trains, some with dining service. If you're looking for a unique dining experience, book a seat on the Wealdon Pullman between April and October. Your meal is served in the perfectly preserved Pullman cars by Pullman attendants in authentic attire.
We went on a 70 minute steam train ride on 18th December, Santa came along with his elves to talk to the children and give them a wrapped gift with their names on it which they loved. One of the elves pulled his mask down and poked his tongue out at my daughter and that was the highlight of her day!!
The magician that visited our first class carriage was also brilliant!
The station staff were all friendly, there was a lovely carousel ride, family photo was taken in front of a lovely fireplace and there was mulled wine on offer, all included in the price!
The model railway on the way put was also lovely and just after that the kid's could write their letter to Santa and put it in the post box. Overall a lovely way of taking the kids to see Santa, different from the usual grotto!

So much fun! Riding the stream train was awesome. Staff are friendly and really nice. The food was great and the picnic plough.ans was delicious as was the cream tea box. Also tiny bottles of processo and cans of gin and tonic were very cheap indeed.
The views from the train were stunning and each station was as cute as the next.
On the table top of our train seats was a "what animals you might see" during your train ride, pri Ted on to the table top and we were luckily surprised that we did see many of those animals, exactly where the map said, including deer!!
We went to Bodiam and alighted. Walked for 3 mins and we were at a lovely pub for a quick bevvie and some slap up yummy grub! We had soft pulled chicken tacos, deep fried hallumi bites and some cheesy chips for the kids.
Then we crossed over the road to go to Bodiam Castle which was a nice quick walk around, climb to the top, looked at the kou and ducks in the pond and headed back to the pub.
The price of the entrance to the g
Castle wasn't cheap for what it was but it didn't break the bank either.
After a swift drink in the pub we walked back to catch the last train back to Tenterden.
The weather was beautiful, so were the people and the surroundings! All in all a brilliant day!
Tickets for the steam train were decently priced but not what I would call a very cheap day out. I got the tickets as a fathers day gift from our boys, as he loves steam trains. He was overjoyed and so excited. He said the pullman carriage was his favourite.

Went here just before Christmas for the Santa train ride experience with the kids. An excellent afternoon, a great day for the kids to meet Santa on a real fully working operational steam train! The whole journey lasts about 90mins with Santa giving presents to the children, and a magician on board for the return journey. There's a carousel ride for all and stalls selling hot/cold food and drink.
You can easily spend around 3/4hrs here, including the train ride!
The staff were also excellent and make the whole experience magical for all.
Highly recommended and will definitely be back again!

We visited the Kent & East Sussex Railway as part of our honeymoon, as my wife loves trains. We booked Freedom passes, and spent a whole day riding the railway, and visiting the nearby museum.
The engine and carriages seem really well cared for, and we had a lovely day out.
The really special part for us was the staff, who were absolutely lovely, with one of the engineers in particular taking some time out of his day (I fear I interrupted his break) to make this truly special, and he absolutely made my wife's day.
A truly wonderful experience.

This was my very first heritage line visit in all my life, and being born and bread Londoner, I've never had a chance to venture out of my comfort zone until now.
As a train spotter inside me comes out, it was a surprise how the level of detail this place is. It was like you've been transported back in time. The sights and smell of the engines were awesome & as for the views, a long the line it was scenic, like you see in a post card.
If I had time spare time, I'd surely come back again. I recommend this place place highly and it was worth the 2 hour drive.

We had an amazing afternoon here at Kent & Sussex railway. We took the train from Tenterden to Bodiam and return. It felt very good traveling in these heritage trains, all well preserved.
It was very delightful to see how passionate all employees/ volunteers seemed to be about their job, always smiling.
The views from the train are also amazing, although we had a very rainy afternoon, we still enjoyed it.
This is a must to do in Kent/ East Sussex.
Highly recommended.

We just love the KESR. We’ve been twice just this year- once in April for the Pullman dining experience and today for the Santa Special. I can’t explain it but it’s something really heartwarming- yes it is expensive but the value is there- they go above and beyond to make it a magical experience. We had a first class compartment and they had laid out a little bag with treats in for the ride, and came to check we had everything we needed. We have been before and had a table in a regular compartment and had an equally lovely time, but the private compartment really was that little bit extra special. We had free hot drinks, unlimited rides on the carousel and a photograph included- honestly it’s really good value when you break it all down, and the train ride alone is an hour long. They’re just great people and we can’t recommend them enough.

OMG, what can i not say about this treat. Highly recommend to do this fabulous treat. As a gift we had the evening dinner experience. Everyone at Tenterden Station, on the train, on the lines, museums and platform our volunteers. Absolutely amazing, well done each and everyone who has put so much time, love and restoration into this little world of joy.
We are very much into 1940s/50s so we went dressed for the fun and splendour. The service: Polite and couldn't do more for you to enjoy the experience. Food: All cooked and prepared on board, just fabulous.
Do book somewhere to stay overnight as you get back late. Plus the Village is lovely to visit to.
This is a must do. Great for a gift.

We were lucky to have 1 very clued up older Scottish gent looking very dapper give us a talk on the surrounding countryside on our return from Bodiam. A real history lesson! The staff work hard and are eager to make your experience a happy one. We enjoyed it very much as first timers though we've lived locally for years. Definitely worth a day out.

An amazing place for lovers of trains, steam trains, history, science, museums, nature, heritage, old times. Visited with my parents (who are in their late 60s now) during 1940s weekend where customs of era were so well presented and performed - my parents, my toddler (3yo) and I, loved every minute. Everything was at our fingertips to explore, staff very friendly, informative and entertaining. Good facilities, good and affordable prices when you want to ride a train, free museum, extra attractions in a nearby town and surroundings. Marvellous trip by steam train from Tenderdem to Bodiam through fields of outstanding beauty. My parents got very emotional as the day brought them back to times when they were under 10 and travelled themselves this way.
We also visited a nearby castle in Bodiam, a cherry on top as the surrounds were fabulous.
A sunny and warm spring day with blue skies made a fabulous day out to remember and made new memories. Thank you K&ESR team. You are a gem of Kent!

Very pleasant steam train ride from Tenterden to Bodiam and back. Wonderful views from the carriage windows. Saw whole host of butterflies at one stop. A herd of Fallow deer and a Little Egret were also spotted. A luxury was a drinks and snack trolley wheeled through carriages. Loved it. As we caught the last train of the day there wasn't time to get off and explore the stations along the way. We are going again and give ourselves plenty more time explore.

We had a fantastic day out and would highly recommend a day out at K&ESR. The whole team there from the lovely lady at the ticket office, the train driver - who invited our little boy into the train cab - the platform staff, the conductors on the train and the lovely lady in the gift shop are really nice and very helpful with their customer service just as good. We will definitely be going back again. Thank you for a fantastic day.

A wonderful place to experience the days of steam, with services running from here to Bodiam in just under an hour (where you will find a country pub and castle to explore).
The station is full of character, including a model railway and lots of enthusiastic staff who do their best to ensure everyone enjoys their experience.
Tenderden station opened in the spring of 1900, finally closing just 61 years later. Thankfully a little over a decade later it reopened with the service through to Bodiam running since 2000.
Although you can buy full fare tickets immediately before boarding it is well worth booking discounted “Freedom Tickets” up until midnight the day before travel, allowing you to board any train you wish both there and back.
The specific timetable depends upon the day and season (check the website), but typically if the railway is open there are five services in each direction with the first around 10:20am and the final return around 4:45pm.
If you found my review or photos helpful please leave a quick thumbs up 👍 Thank you!

A beautiful trip in best weather for us and our little daughter. She was fascinated and having fun. We are delighted that such a nice little piece of transport history is being preserved for people to experience. It was just a pity that the museum closed very quickly after the last train. I will definitely look at it again with more time when we come back to the area.

A great morning out on the extinct express. My kids really enjoyed it and loved meeting the baby dinosaurs. The only criticism I have is, can they make it longer and possibly put some dinosaurs along the track for little ones to spot? My 2 boys loved being in their own carriage and their new books. It was run very efficiently, and the dinosaurs bought to life wonderfully for my kids. We all really enjoyed it. Also, we visited the cafe before getting on the train, and the prices and quality of food and service were some of the best I've experienced in a long while. We are looking to book onto one of their other events later in the year!

Nestled between two cliffs and accessible via funicular railways, Hastings Old Town is a delightful blend of traditional seaside charm and Tudor architecture. Visitors can explore the vibrant arts scene, browse quaint shops on George Street, and enjoy lively pubs on High Street. A shingle beach dotted with wooden fishermen's huts offers a picturesque backdrop for tourists who come to admire the Bluereef Aquarium or take in the sights at the Hastings Fishermen's Museum.
This beach, located in Sussex, is perfect for relaxing and spending time with family. The sand is golden and the water is blue, making it a popular spot for swimming. The beach also has lifeguards and parking nearby.
beautiful wide beach off Rye (took a short bus ride). fine soft sand and lovely walk - definitely walk along the higher sand dunes if you get the chance - better views especially at sunset! would definitely come back in summer to enjoy the water!!

Parking is not cheap at £20 per day at the Western Car Park. There is a very steep dune to get over to reach the beach. It is not suitable for buggies or anything wheeled unless you’re superman. The beach itself is beautiful and there’s plenty of room.

This beach is an exception in this part of England (South coast of Kent) as it is a sandy beach not pebbles. Furthermore, it's a large expanse of beach stretching for a number of miles. It's a lovely place to relax and enjoy the sun (when it shows itself). Furthermore there are at least a couple of car parks close to the beach, along with some amenities to buy food and drink.

Beautiful shoreline with plenty of beach for you to catch some sun and enjoy a swim. Even though it gets busy on warmer summer days, the beach itself doesn't feel too crowded. There is a bit of a walk over the dunes to get from the car park to the beach which can be a challenge for some.

Camber Sands is a stunning beach destination that offers miles of golden sandy shores and mesmerizing coastal beauty. The vast expanse of the beach provides ample space for sunbathing, sandcastle building, and leisurely walks. Camber is a great beach to go to, also, you don't need to pay the high fees of parking. Further along the beach, there is a huge free car park. You'll know you're in the right place as there is The Kitesuef Centre. A fifteen minute walk will take you to the more popular part of the beach where it is really sandy, however, the whole beach is really nice.

“A sandy (barefoot-safe) beach”
This is currently the best sandy beach i’ve visited so far because I find it hard to walk in pebbly beach as my feet gets hurt and is very uncomfortable.
Very convenient parking (Apart from the parking charges) as restrooms are close by and easy to see. I find it handy as i don’t need to look around to find a toilet.
The cafe has a friendly staff and environment. Also check out the bar as they have a variety of drinks to choose.
I highly recommend the place especially if you are looking for place to chill with a beach vibe.

Stunning beach. Lovely early morning stroll stroll along the beach and dunes.

It's such a cool beach and only two hours from London! Quite busy but entirely bareable, especially when compared to other Sussex beaches like Brighton.
Try finding an empty spot on one of the sand dunes for pure relaxation 😌

Parking: The western car park is a much better option than the central car park, as it is much cheaper (£4 per hour) and it is not as crowded. However, you do have to walk over a steep dune to get to the beach from the western car park.
Beach: The beach is absolutely stunning. It is very expansive, with soft golden sand that stretches for miles. The lifeguards were on duty, and there were beach huts where you could purchase things. The beach was very flat, so it was easy to walk around. When the tide was out, you could walk far out into the sea.
Overall: Camber Sands beach is a great place to spend a day. It is beautiful, it is family-friendly, and it is not too crowded. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great beach day.
One of the oldest and most important churches in England, Canterbury Cathedral is visited by millions of people each year. With rich history dating back more than 1,400 years, the cathedral contains some beautiful historical collections and is home to the Church of England. The main attraction is the crypt which was about to hold a wedding when it was visited.
Amazing experience. So much history and experienced guides who delight in imparting this history. We took a break after an hour or so and went for refreshments. Came back and spent another couple of hours there, a good way to see the Cathedral if you have time. Ticket allows you to return again during the year of issue, excellent value.

Sadly on this visit could not go inside the main cathedral because of a private event we could only go to the crypt and the gardens but for a mere £5 it was worth it. You still get to see the stunning architecture of the cathedral from the outside and the crypt has lots of great things to see with such a stunning herb garden. I would recommend that you always check for events before you have you heart set on seeing the cathedral just in case but this was still a lovely option!

Canterbury Cathedral is an absolute marvel of architecture and history, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment you set foot on the grounds, you are transported to another time and place, surrounded by stunning Gothic architecture and steeped in the rich cultural and religious history of England.
Every detail of the cathedral is breathtaking, from the intricate carvings and stained glass windows to the soaring vaulted ceilings and meticulously maintained gardens. The sense of peace and serenity that permeates the cathedral is truly awe-inspiring, and I found myself completely absorbed in the beauty and history of the place.
The knowledgeable and friendly staff are a testament to the cathedral's commitment to hospitality, and their willingness to share their expertise and passion for the cathedral's history and significance only adds to the overall experience. Whether you are a history buff, a religious pilgrim, or simply a lover of architecture and beauty, Canterbury Cathedral is an absolute must-see destination. I cannot imagine a more perfect way to spend a day than exploring this magnificent cathedral and all that it has to offer.

Beautiful and ancient cathedral. Stunning stained glass windows.. the cathedral is easily accessible from London and a high speed train takes you to Canterbury in about an hour. The cathedral is easy walking distance from the train station and an easy day trip to cover most of the town. Right now there is a quaint little Christmas market in the city Centre that’s fun to visit.

We were a bit unsure about buying tickets to enter, but trust me, it's totally worth it! 😊 It's not just the church you get to see; it's the entire surrounding area, including beautiful gardens. Inside, you'll find unique pieces of history displayed in the crypt and picturesque ruins of the former monastery. It took us about an hour and a half to explore everything fully. Plus, it's a UNESCO World Heritage site! 🌟🏛️

Lucky to have visited during a concert rehearsal and viewed the Cathedral with an epic orchestra & choir backing. Such a treat! Absolutely massive Cathedral full of history even for a non religious person as myself the architecture & stained glass are particular highlights. Tickets with gift aid donations are valid for a year of return visits.

Enjoyed the day roaming around Canterbury city center and Canterbury Cathedral. Although we had visited before, this time we went for our 1st boat trip around the canals. Really enjoyed the canal trip. Also enjoyed walking through the Free Libary and Art Gallery in the Oldest building. Enjoyed the Pubs and had a fab meal. Most people & staff were very friendly.

I beautiful old cathedral built in the Romanesque style. It is 1000 years old and absolutely amazing. The acoustics are incredible. A choir was singing and we could hear the songs even in the crypt. The don’t build them like this any more.
The cathedral has great history (even a grisly murder) and famous people buried within.
You approach the castle through the town of Canterbury, which has lots of shopping and food options. The town and cathedral draw a lot of traffic, so be prepared to wait in the weekends. We rented a car and made the drive ourselves and it wasn’t bad but if the thought of driving on the wrong side of the road isn’t appealing, there are many tour groups who go to Canterbury.
The trip was fun and I would recommend a visit.

A very grand cathedral and easy access for anyone, dog friendly and you pay once and can go free for an entire year. You can buy tickets on entry. Under 18s are free to enter. There's grounds around the cathedral which are nice to have a walk around with it usually being fairly quiet. The streets around the cathedral are slightly busier but filled with cute shops and independent restaurants.

Canterbury Cathedral is an awe-inspiring historic masterpiece that truly takes your breath away with its remarkable architecture and profound sense of history. Stepping inside its ancient walls is an experience that transcends time, leaving you with an overwhelming sense of wonder.
The cathedral's architecture is nothing short of amazing. Its soaring spires, intricate stained glass windows, and meticulously carved stone details are a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the builders who created this sacred marvel. Every corner of the cathedral holds a piece of history, and the Gothic and Romanesque elements blend seamlessly to create a visually stunning masterpiece.
Walking through the cathedral's hallowed halls and cloisters is an experience that words can hardly describe. The weight of centuries of history presses down on you, and you can't help but be moved by the sense of reverence and spirituality that permeates the air. It's a place where time seems to stand still, and you can't help but feel a profound connection to the past.
I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Canterbury Cathedral to anyone who has the opportunity. It's not just a place of worship; it's a living testament to human achievement and spiritual devotion. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply seeking a moment of reflection, Canterbury Cathedral is an absolute must-see. The feeling you experience when you walk through its old walls is truly unbelievable, and it's an experience that will stay with you long after you've left.

An absolutely beautiful cathedral riddled in such significant history! The staffers at the visitor center are so helpful and kind. Purchase a ticket there (you have to top up £5 for an audio guide) before you head in to the cathedral.
The cathedral itself has plentiful stain glass windows and a direct link to how the England church was born.
Do note that while strollers/buggies are allowed inside, there are still quite a number of stairs around which require you to carry your stroller/buggy up/down.
The crypt was closed in the morning so we went for lunch nearby and came back just in time for it to be open. Photography isn’t allowed in the crypt.

Visited Canterbury Cathedral on a sunny day, January 16, 2024. Paid £17 for an adult ticket, opted for the full experience. Noticed ongoing restoration work, a testament to preservation efforts. The cathedral boasts extensive history; dedicated a few hours to explore, amidst the grey surroundings. The sound of someone playing the organs added a sublime touch, enhancing the overall experience.

Beautiful cathedral. It’s undergoing a lot of renovation work currently and there are some interesting updates on this around the building. It’s not a very serene space as there are lots of tourists around and about but it is still a vast and impressive space. Be warned lots of steps, it’s quite cold even in the summer and it is very expensive to get in

Beautiful Cathedral! I was here for a ceremony so didn't get a chance to explore the building but the main sanctuary is beautiful. Quick note, there are no toilets in the Cathedral but they have a very clean washroom in separate building just 3 minutes from the entrance.

Such a stunning Cathedral. We spent around 3 hours inside, there is so much to see and admire. In the Crypt no photos or videos are allowed, and it's a silent prayerful space. One can take photos in the rest of the massive cathedral.
There is only a small kiosk for coffee and tea on the property, but so many restaurants and Coffee shops are very close.
The Cathedral is undergoing constant restoration and maintenance, parts of it outside were covered by scaffolding. There are some beautifully restored, clean walls where the workmen have already done their magic. The cathedral requires £18,000 per DAY to run, so donations are welcome.

The cathedral is nice looking and the grounds are well maintained. Inside the cathedral the guides are not proactive and don't share information on the site unless prompted (a lot). The day of our visit we saw students graduating, surrounded by their very proud parents. The atmosphere was a little chaotic and but I am sure that this is not usually the case. Whilst viewing an exhibit, there was a fire alarm, I asked the guide if we should leave and where the muster point was. She didn't have an answer. I made the call to evacuate. The fire alarm stopped sounding, so we went back to touring the cathedral. About five minutes later, the alarm sounded again. At this point another of the cathedral's guides came running in and shouting "get out, get out!". The tourists began running. My children were very scared. We CALMLY walked out and when we (again) asked where the muster point was, was told to follow the crowd (!) Unbelievable. We waited until the alarm went off and then when the crowds started piling back in, we asked a guide if we could return. She looked around and said: "I guess so". Upon entering the cathedral, we saw the guide who incited the panic and reminded him that panic causes more accidents. He informed us that the way he behaved this was company protocol!
The rest of the visit was spent viewing the cathedral and using Google as my guide. Definitely not worth the money. Particularly, as the staff are not trained in what to do and how to behave in emergencies.

Canterbury is a place where history and modern life coexist harmoniously. It’s a journey through time and a delightful destination for anyone seeking a taste of old-world charm in the UK.
Beyond the cathedral, the city’s cobbled streets and medieval buildings create an enchanting atmosphere. The Canterbury Tales attraction brings Chaucer’s tales to life, and you can explore the medieval architecture of Westgate Towers.
Finally, Canterbury’s friendly and welcoming atmosphere makes it an ideal destination for travelers seeking both history and contemporary experiences. Whether you’re wandering its ancient streets or enjoying a meal in one of its charming restaurants, Canterbury invites you to savor the best of the past and present.
Punting tours in Canterbury often take you past several iconic landmarks, including the stunning Canterbury Cathedral, historic buildings, and beautiful gardens.
Highly recommended place to visit!

Unmissable experience for first time visitors, it's no coincidence that this has been a site of pilgrimage for over a millennium.
The cathedral with it's iconic mixture of centuries of building styles is worth the price of admission on its own, and the daily services, performances and special events make return trips well worth it.
Note that an admission ticket is good for a full year.

An amazing piece of history and well worth a visit. It costs £17 to get in but this is valid for a whole year. I paid £5 to go on a guided tour which was 1.5 hours. Worth every penny. Our guide was Kirsten, a very knowledgeable and good humoured lady. I felt very engaged and learned a great deal.
The cathedral is enormous and I could easily of spent the whole day there as there is so much to see.
Thomas Becket,The Black Prince and the influence of William of Normandy and many others give this cathedral a long and very rich history.
It is a working cathedral and its open for various services and also for private reflection and prayers.

Fabulous historic cathedral (see Thomas Becket) plus plenty of interesting memorials to curious people. Monument to Becket is striking. Stained glass and cloisters beautiful. Tea shop was closed by 4pm (so no comment and no comment-err? Such a British tradition to close doors to cafés when visitors are in greatest need) but the visitors’ shop was open and had good stuff.

I think the entrance fee can be off-putting to a few people. However, you can go back as many times as you like for a year, so it evens out. We live near Canterbury, so now have the year's pass.
How many times do you want to visit the same place? I thought that, but each time we go, you see something different. Also, there are a number of very knowledgeable guides there. One of these, Michael, gave us a real insight of a specific time/part of the Cathedral. Very interesting.

The charity Wildwood Trust manages 40 acres of ancient woodland in England, home to a variety of native wildlife. The park offers a variety of activities for families, including talks and feeds with the animals, zoo keeper days, photography days, and festive events like Christmas.
Loved this place, with some super attractions and enough to keep the family occupied all day. It is a bit rough round the edges but that’s it’s charm. Clearly run by genuinely lovely people with a true passion for the creatures in their care and so knowledgeable being always willing to stop and chat. Absolute delight to see the native species including those no longer living here naturally and some great examples of conservation at work. Pleasantly surprised about the hot food in the cafe which caters for most needs and delivered at very sensible prices with a friendly smile.
We did the family keeper tour about a month ago and would thoroughly recommend. Worth every penny. Keep up the good work!

Nice couple of hours out with the kids. You can leave your food in the back of your car... cooler box on a hot day... the eating area is close to the entrance....its not a zoo but more a small park but really nice to walk round. Not bad access for wheel chairs etc. Kids normally end up in the play area so a wonder round followed by a sit down next to the play area while the kids play safely... one way in one way out. It's what you make it a few hours or longer... enjoy.

What a fab find this place was. Wondered what we were in for driving in through the industrial entrance but turned out to be a lovely place based in a woodland. Not what I expected when I drove into car park as its got a few small industrial units . BRILLIANT ! Had such a great time . The park is very eco-friendly with un managed scrub in between the enclosures. Its bigger than I thought with lots of interlinking trails ,available to all to enjoy.
The staff are lovely and very happy to talk about their animals and projects that the park is involved with.
There is a small café and gift shop that are both reasonably priced but also plenty of benches and eating areas for picnics dotted throughout the park.
I would definitely go again

It was our first time at Wildwood and it was wonderful - even in cold January weather. We arrived early and got to see a number of animals receive their breakfasts. There's a great path that leads you through the park and plenty of interesting animals to spot on the way. The playground near the cafe is really good too - something for most ages. We will definitely be returning!

I love this place. We've been a few times now. The whole atmosphere is about love and care for the animals and the staff are friendly, happy and kind.
My partner loves bears and I love otters. Having adopted an otter, today we were lucky enough to meet Loki close up. Many thanks to Liz for a lovely talk. We saw lots of the bears from the near bridge and from the ground.
There's an area for kids to play in and reasonably priced food and coffee available. Not the best, but it does the job.
Of course, the highlight is the animals which are many and varied. Information boards everywhere give you the opportunity to learn more and, there are excellent viewing structures particularly for the bears and wolves.
Make sure you book a spot so you can get in, we've done so both times and had a seamless experience.
Go and support this wonderful place!

The wildwood is a beautiful place to visit. Full of truly amazing wildlife. The rope bridge walk way over the bears (rescued bears with a huge enclosure) is spectacular.
The Elk! They're so tall! And wolves! They have wolves!
It's a lovely day out and the money goes to conservation of these threatened or already extinct in the wild, species.
We also overheard some of the best of British Dad banter here "dad what's that smell?"
"That'll be your mother" ...that sort of thing....
Also, there is a large playground for the kids, lots of picnic benches (we always take a picnic, make sure you put your rubbish in the bin) and a gift shop.
Brilliant day out for the summer holidays , the perfect opportunity to teach children how to respect the natural world around them.

Firstly i wouldn't recommend turning up at 2pm like we did. 😬 Although it was nice and quiet at this time we didn't get to see some of the animals, maybe they had gone to bed already. The biggest dissapointment for my daughter was that we didn't see any bears 😭🐻 but the animals we did see, and there were plenty others, were really awesome!!
We loved seeing the elk, the wolves, the otters and all the lovely birds. We even managed to spot a baby adder which was amazing!!
It was a lovely walk around the whole park.
I would definitely go again but at an earlier time. 😁

A lovely day out, lots of animals to see and easy to walk around in a couple of hours. We went on a warm day so the animals were out enjoying the weather. The park is easy to get around with paths suitable for pushchairs as well as some raised walkways and rope bridges over the bear, squirrel and wolf enclosures. there's a great adventure playground that my children have enjoyed from age 4 through to 13. There's a drop slide for those who are brave and plenty of other adventurous play equipment.
The cafe is situated at the play park with a takeaway booth and an indoor cafe. The service is slow at the takeaway booth and they don't do the same menu as the cafe and at busy times be prepared to wait to be served. A better system could be in place for this. The park does day tickets and annual pass. We got a day ticket and thought it was a good day out for the money. Parking is free.

Utterly disgusted , most enclosures shut for renovation, no posts to tell us on their website. I was accompanied by a lady in her 80s with a walking frame who had some difficulty getting around the path as some mats , odd bits of wood and concrete was in the way. Will definitely not be coming back . Just seems like it’s slowly being neglected. These are the only photos I managed to take of the said disappointment.

We entered for the last of the late summer events, we were disappointed that even though they stated there would be keepers around doing animal talks we didn't see any at all, apart from taking payment and in shop. Had a great day here feeding the Arctic Foxes. They do a lot of conservation and rewilding. They have bears, red squirrels, Scottish wildcats, otters and plenty of other animals. Remember 2 things.. 1. You are free to walk round a few times as you might not see everything on your 1st circuit, (Thankfully it's a wildlife park, not a performing circus), 2. If it's been raining etc. don't go in your favourite trainers, were appropriate footwear.
So wrap up, get out there and enjoy your day.

We went after lunch was able to get parking right outside. The trust was super quiet. It was lovely and peaceful walking round. I loved that you could walk through the enclosures by being on a platform.
Got to see all the animals and it was great to see they had so much space to roam and that the enclosure was similar to the environment they would naturally be in.
Thought the price was reasonable for entry. Lovely playpark too for kids.
The area was clean had a lovely gift shop and cafe area.
My favorite was there bears would recommend and hopefully we will be back.

Plenty of benches which is good, probably only saw about 20% of the animals, some were either empty or can't find them which obviously can't be helped, most of the park starting to look a little rough now, staff in cafe seem like they don't want to be there, then over £3 for a hot drinks which was absolutely tiny, either drop your prices or increase the size. A disappointing visit, a generous 3 star given

The animals were awesome and they looked pretty relaxed in their enclosures which was good. The Arctic fox looked very relaxed. Having platforms and walkways above some of the animals made it easier to see them while allowing them to live in natural habitats. There's a good amount of information about the animals.

I visited at the weekend (April 2024) and the park has undergone a few changes.
The squirrel walk through is now home to the Arctic Foxes and there is a new platform over by the elk enclosure. The gift shop is not currently open and that building is been renovated.
I am pleased that the coffee is now lovely! It used to be terrible.
The children played for hours and we sat and watched them whilst having coffee and snacks. There is a sizeable play park for the kids and a very high drop slide.
If you aren’t absolutely terrified of heights, take a walk over the bear bridge. Personally, I’d rather get eaten by a bear than go over that again.
It’s much more sensible to buy a membership if you are local. It will save you money and it helps the animals and the conservation projects that Wildwood are involved in.
Lots of parking and the staff are friendly if you have any questions.

We have just got home from a day at a safari. Park and grounds are beautiful and well kept. Animals seem happy and well looked after.
We booked the Safari and have been on a few safari type experiences in the UK. This by far, was the most boring. We barely see any animals and when we did most were at a great distance except for the giraffes. It was a glorified taxi service around the grounds.
If you are a wheelchair user or buggy user then forget it! It’s all uphill and lots of stairs to climb. I can imagine children getting very tired.
The food and drinks were ok and overpriced.
All in all, we had a good day. But there are far more interactive experiences with animals around the UK at a similar price. I feel even some zoo’s you get a closer look at the animals. We won’t be returning.

Though it has wheelchair access and parking, not all of the areas are wheelchair friendly. We had to ask for the mini bus to pick us up and take us to places. There are buggies, but they were fully booked. It was a hot day, so some animals were keeping inside to stay cool.
There are a few places to eat and get ice cream or drinks. It also has a play area for children.

Spent a day here and had a private party with a safari and afternoon tea for a friends 60th birthday. What a fabulous day we all had. We were greeted with tea and shortbread in our private function room which was beautifully decorated. Then we moved on to our safari and we had Charlie as our ranger, who I must say was superb. His knowledge about that animals was amazing and very interesting. Our whole journey was presented with passion for the animals. Charlie made the experience wonderful. Then we went back to our private room and had a very delicious afternoon tea. The service was also fantastic for this part of our experience. Would highly recommend this place and would return in a heartbeat.

A great zoo if you enjoy looking at big cats and gorillas. Only downfall was that some of the zoo is off-limits to pedestrians, and some enclosures can only be seen on the safari. Additionally, we could not view the leopard enclosure as it was gated off for leopard creek guests and animal encounter guests only, which was slightly disappointing.
However, the zoo is clearly well maintained, and the animals well looked after. I’d definitely stay here again.

Stayed at Lion Lodge overnight and wow, what an experience.....
The lodge was pure luxury and being able to sit next to the lions was amazing.
All the staff were so helpful and friendly and made this a truly memorable time.
Also booked a AAA Safari - this is highly recommended. Will, our ranger, was so knowledgeable, funny and friendly. The real highlight for me was hand feeding the black rhino and stroking the white rhino.
A most enjoyable 2.5 hours roaming the reserve.

The Safari was such an enjoyable experience for all of us, suitable for all age. Some of the animals have a spacious natural ground to explore around, I suppose similar to their natural habitat. So don’t think of this park like an ordinary zoo please.
The restaurant’s interior was most fond by me, 30-40 for two adult plus a child which is acceptable. Applause for the chefs here, the beef burger and lamb kofta were absolutely amazing!
Great (free) parking space, though the extended grass parking could be very muddy and splashy around the wheels after the rain.
The staff were lovely and polite, attentive and happy to offer info to new visitors. A good selection of souvenirs.

We didn't stay here as we live fairly near by. We had the most incredible day. The dinosaur forest is incredible and the best thing ever for any Dino loving life ones. The safari is great, bumpy but, very informative and it's lovely to hear about the reintroduction of animals into the wild. If you do go on the safari, try to sit on the left!

Amazing wildlife park, so professional and well kept, animals have vast well thought out enclosures. They breed and return animals to the wild to their natural habitat to repopulate endangered animal communities. Recommend paying extra for the close encounters. We fed the gorillas and it was magical. The park is set in beautiful countryside, with views to the sea

Wow!!! Port Lympne Safari Park is amazing!! We had the best day here. So much to see and the safari is so good. We got very close to the giraffes and our guide was very knowledgeable. What I will say is the safari park is built on a hill so make sure you wear comfy footwear. The grounds are beautiful. With the gardens and the orangery you will have plenty of photo ops. The accommodation looks amazing and we are absolutely going back to stay!

Wonderful day out with my fiancé here! The AAA safari was incredible with our guide Casey bringing the whole tour to life with his extensive knowledge of all things animal related.
We were able to feed the Rhinos and Giraffe and could not have been happier with the overall experience. Before hand, we were able to walk the ground a little ourselves and see some of the animals who all looked in great condition and well fed! This place truly loves their animals and keeps them in great health and perfect living conditions.
Can't wait to go back.

Had a stay at Port Lympne for my husbands birthday and they have been nothing but exceptional the whole time. They allowed me to drop my husbands present down a week early with some decorations and a cake to decorated our wigwam helped advice us on the best animal experience and time to take the safari and alway on hand to answer questions on the animals. Food in the garden restaurant was amazing! Big shout out to Amy down at the gorilla for spending 30minuets with us answering questions and telling us about all the girls in the cage! Thank you to Candy for the best experience with the white rhinos! The team from start to finish went above and beyond! Will recommend to anyone who will listen! Will definitely be back!

Had an absolutely fab weekend away to celebrate some birthdays. The service is fantastic, the staff was so friendly and made us feel so welcome and special each step of the way. The accomodation is great value, we stayed at the Bear Lodge and it was lovely. The safaris were so educational and you get one for each night of your stay so we made the most out of it! I could honestly have spent a whole week here exploring and trying out the different activities! We'll definitely be back and I've recommended it to everyone!

This is a review of the Reserve . No one likes to see animals in captivity but at least here you know that the philosophy behind the Reserve is all good . The Aspinall Foundation does great work in conservation and getting animals back in the wild . This it was doing long before it was trendy to care about wildlife .
It's great to know that the admission fee helps support the good works of the Foundation.
As a destination it's a lovely place for a day out . Set in a great location with wonderful views .
The ' big house ' and gardens would be a nice destination even without the associated animal reserve.
There seems to be plenty of facilities to eat and drink , or picnic if you bring your own food .
All in all a great day out .

We stayed here overnight in a small hut 🛖 in the pinewood area. The hut had two normal beds and a fold out futon, adequate lighting and a few sockets one of which powered a small oil filled heater. We really loved our accommodation.
Some people commented that they couldn't sleep because of the loins roaring, but when the door is shut you can't really hear them.
The park itself is fantastic. All of the animals came out to see us, so there was no lack of things to see. We also did a safari trip on one of the troop carriers they have and that was brilliant too.
The whole site is built onto the side of a hill, so if you go around and see everything, be prepared to do a lot of climbing to get back to the top.
There are two restaurants on site which you will have to book early for but the food is lovely (if not rather expensive).
Overall we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back here again!

Just back from a lovely day out . The car park was smaller than we thought and the staff explained that in the winter months no one parks on the grass , but in the summer months many more spaces are available. This place was amazing, right at the start was greeting by a friendly boy in the gift shop who helped as with all of our questions.
We had booked the safari which was very interesting and great as you got up close to most of the animals. Well worth the £6 per person for the hour on safari. So much to see and do in this reserve , will definitely be coming back again .

Fantastic day at Port Lympne. I was amazed how knowledgeable the lady that took us on the safari was.
I would 100 per cent recommend. The safari took about an hour. Driving round at about 5mph. Information on all animals and the zoo. The ride was very comfortable and the animals are clearly seen. Some animals standing around in front the truck very funny.

More than expected. From the start the staff were friendly and helpful. The park was muddy and a lot of walking was involved, but we don't have mobility issues so this was fine.
1st class service. Beautiful park with well cared for animals. Good project to support. It was the little details that made it perfect. Would recommend to anyone that can walk well.

Absolutely enjoyed my time here. It was a lovely experience to see the animals, especially the tour which they provide taking you closer to the giraffes. someone from our group touched the giraffe which made one of a staff a bit sentimental. she kept bringing the topic out during rest of the safari to make her point.
Driving the gold cart was fun. the restaurant near the entrance was absolutely fantastic. overall, if you love animals than i would definitely recommend to go there. Best to take your kids and not at summer time. there were no air cons at the outdoor cabin which can make kids a bit hot tempered.
i will visit again under pleasant circumstances.

Myself and my partner went here for a day out and had the most amazing time. The safari is a must, for no extra cost, it was great to see so many different animals in such a massive amount of space. It lasted around an hour and we got to get some nice close ups of some of the animals. The zoo itself is very big and there's lots to see although it was tiring with all the hills. The gardens were also very beautiful and great to have picnics or to take a break.
Sometimes it was a little confusing knowing where we could walk, as you would have the buggy only pathways and the map didn't have the full list of animals on there, which would have been nice. The location was not very tourist friendly if you're not driving in, we are from Birmingham so found it hard to get there by bus from our hotel and did have to walk quite a distance to get to the park.
Overall, the zoo is definitely one to go and see and we had a wonderful day.

Stayed for 2 nights at the Tiger Lodge all the family were super excited to see the Tiger.
We stayed here as part of a special holiday after a bereavement of a parent
Port lymph contacted us the day before we left to inform us that the safari experience that we had booked would be cancelled on the Thursday due to bad weather conditions and made arrangements to move the experience to half an hour after we checked in on the day of arrival this was all super efficient and a great experience
However what they failed to say was that the tiger would be locked away due to the bad weather for our whole visit apart from the last 4 hours before we left!!!
The staff on reception were very informative and helpful but nothing seemed to follow through with bookings we had made
There was just a lack of ‘finishing touches’ which would have made the holiday
I don’t think I would recommend

My son and I have returned from a night and two days at Port Lympne. We stayed in Leopard Creek in one of the huts (most beautiful hut I have ever seen!). We have had a fantastic time. The animals are fascinating and have so much space and care - they seem so happy and content - and the devotion to the animals from all the team is clear. And that’s what put shine on the trip - every single person working at the Park was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Had an amazing time.

Very cold wet and windy day to be visiting. Lunch at the Garden Room was one of the best roasts we have had. Highly recommend the beef followed by apple crumble. Well priced and a lovely setting. Service was good, a little slow at times but a busy Sunday lunch so to be expected. Kindly accommodated us earlier than scheduled. Thank you, will be back to explore in the warmer months. Great day out for both couples and families. The guide on our safari was very knowledgeable and friendly.

I visited here for as was staying nearby for my birthday and loved it. Great zoo, we did the safari truck tour and the two staff members were great so glad we did it as saw more animals. The reserve itself is massive and loads options if you wanted to stay! Great for walking lovers. Reasonably priced and could have stayed even longer. Recommend to all visiting. Thank you.

We didn't stay at port lympne, we went on a day trip as we were staying in Rye and it's only half an hour away. It was a fantastic day, we took my 2 year old son he absolutely loved it, the enclosures are very large and the variety of animals on show is great. I'd definitely recommend doing the safari tour as well, it's a little extra when buying the ticket, it's well worth it, we had a lovely and informative host this took in total about an hour. I would say food even though it was very nice in the park, is very expensive. Also if you have a young child bring a buggy due to the sheer size of the park, if you have any mobility issues walking the park could be a problem, but you can rent a buggy for the day which id recommend. Overall a great day and for me the best zoo/safari park in the UK and we've been to many of them.

We had an absolute memory of a lifetime experience staying in lion Lodge. it was absolutely incredible the Lions were right up to our window face to face Close, remarkable. the actual Lodge accommodation was truly five star and we were treated in such an amazing way as if we were really special it's a memory that will stay with me for a lifetime. the actual Safari Park is really good it's large and the work they're doing is excellent we did the safari on the trucks sadly it was raining but we still saw lots and lots of animals. the only thing I would say is we had pizza delivered to the room which was extraordinarily expensive but that would be my only gripe. I highly recommend it if you ever get the chance to stay at Lion Lodge it really really is worth the investment.

Absolutely fantastic day out from start to finish. We went on Safari with our Ranger (Will) who was brilliant and we saw some incredible animals, we were very lucky as there was only 2 other people in the vehicle so it really felt like a personal experience. Will's knowledge of all the animals and their personalities was second to none he gave an excellent experience and was an absolute star not to mention had a great sense of humour too. Every member of staff was extremely helpful and friendly, all the places to eat were great and the food was extremely tasty and restaurants were kept very clean and tidy even though is was very busy. Would definitely recommend! 5*

Accommodation is breath taking along with the views of the park. All combined just makes for a beautiful trip away. We had an enjoyable 2 night stay here to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We stayed in a shepherds hut which was very comfortable and cosy. We had the opportunity of a log burner inside or an outdoor chimnea, neither of which we took advantage of (but a lovely added touch).
Our cabin was a fair distance from the restaurants and other places but the addition of a golf cart made it an even more enjoyable stay. The golf cart was big enough to carry all our luggage and the 2 of us (they also had larger ones for larger parties).
The safari was OK but personally I enjoyed the ranger tour a lot more. The Safari allowed us to see many animals but felt very much like they had to be back in time to do the next trip. The Ranger tour was a lot more relaxed with the opportunity to ask questions and take many more photos. (It probably helped that there were only 4 of us on this tour).
All in all a very enjoyable stay with the added bonus of knowing the animals, both on site and in their natural environment, are being cared for and protected for future generations.

Spent a lovely day here at the Reserve. We started with a safari drive around an off limits part of this 600 acre park. After a sandwich and coffee at Base Camp we continued on the walking part of the park taking in a Gorilla scatter feed and talk. An excellent day out but beware there is a LOT of walking with some steep inclines.

Amazing. My partner and I had a great day out. The glory of the park has no comparison. Zoos don't come close to this for animal welfare, habitat and experience. Can't recommend highly enough.

Port Lympne is amazing with beautiful grounds. The stay is great however very expensive for what you get included. You are unable to get into your accommodation until 3 then have to leave by 11 which seems so little time in the accommodation as you are exploring the park and eating dinner.
You do get a golf buggy but it is not allowed around the whole park which is a shame and there is a few animals that you are unable to see unless you stay in that part of the park totally unfair for all paying guests.
It's so expensive and doesn't include breakfast which is £18 per person and small portions.
Overall great place however over priced for what you get.

If you book a safari and are late by two minutes you miss your jeep. We had arrived about ten minutes before our slot but the queue to get in took too long. Total disappointment. Drove all the way from London. They send hundreds of marketing emails but nothing to highlight you need to be early for the safari. Waste of time and money. won't be back. The walk about part is really nothing special. Other places do that much better. Walked around in about an hour and a half. No real wow moments. No giraffes on foot trail.

Our 3 year old loved seeing the animals, experiencing the camp fire, and hearing the lions roar through the night.
The pool table in the common area does need to be updated as not many people carry money anymore, but apart from that great!

Howletts Wild Animal Park is a safari park with experiences for visitors and very close encounters with some of the animals native to Africa. There are over 390 animals onsite, including elephants, gorillas, tigers and monkeys. The park has an adventure theme and is perfect for family days out in Kent.
We hadn't been to howletts for years and I can honestly say we had an amazing day out.
The animals all looked happy and cared for. The walk around the park is quite long and take a good few hours to see everything but definitely worth a visit. We all got to see animals we hadn't seen before. We even saw the lions having a 'cuddle'🙈 our youngest daughter wanted to stay and watch but honestly we felt awkward so convinced her they needed their alone time 😂

A lovely animal park in gorgeous grounds but not a huge amount of animals so you can definitely do the park in a couple of hours even if you stop for something to eat.
They have a main cafe The Pavilion, where you can get hot food and a few other stands selling snacks, drinks and ice creams.
Food is pricey for what it is, I paid £8.50 for lasagna and chips and with a drink that was £11.50.
The cafe is more cafeteria style where food is under a hot stand and they serve you and you take your tray to the cashier.
The view of some of the animals is spectacular but this a chilled style zoo where you could bring the family for picnics as loads of eating areas.

I'm always trying to think of places to go to, especially with a toddler. I remember going to Port Lympne and I absolutely loved it. This time, I wanted to try something similar but also different.
I came across Howletts and my little boy absolutely loved it. He loved the monkeys and Elephants. I went on a weekday, it wasn't busy at all.
It's quite huge and there's a lot of walking involved, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Do take your buggy as well. I didn't take my little ones buggy, and he wanted to be held most of the time, because he was getting tired of walking. 😂

Love going here. All the great animals that seem to want to come out and see you. I managed to get over 200 pictures of all the animals. The Gorillas, Elephants, Rhinos, big cats, small cats, wolves, lots of different monkeys, lemurs, ostriches, deers, mongoose, bongos and many others to see. My 4 year old was amazed at them all and especially excited to walk around inside the lemur enclosure. The park has drinks and snack bars, cafes, and toilets all dotted around the place. Two play areas for children and loads of picnic benches everywhere to sit and relax/eat. I highly recommend going, it's a great day out. It will take around 4 hours to have a good walk around and lunch.

Visited in the off-season. There were very few people in the park but one of the restaurants was still open and they were still taking the time to advertise and run the keeper Q&As and feeding sessions, which was nice. The park has an interesting layout and there's enough here to keep you entertained for at least half a day, possibly more when it's busy. The staff were all really friendly and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the park, its history and the breeding programs.

Howletts wild animal Park is very well sign posted coming towards Canterbury. Their is plenty of car park space . You may have to que up to buy your tickets , but I recommend booking in advance.
It very big place to walk around and has several slopes and it is all wheelchair accessible.
The animals are amazing and they have just introduced a lion enclosure with one new male lion and one female lion . The elephant was my favourite part of the whole day out . Loads of monkey enclosures .
The gift shop ain't very big . Plenty picnic areas to sit down and have your lunch . The only thing I was disappointed on was didn't get to see all the animals because they were either asleep or no where to be found . And that I expected a bit more to do and look at . But it's a great place for all the family . You would only need a couple of hours I think to get round their.

Wonderful day out with plenty of animals to see. Large, well kept enclosures. Can't comment on the price of food as we took a picnic. Gift shop was expensive but normal for places like this. It does look a little tired compared to our last visit a few years ago and we were really sad to see the gem/crystal gift shop was closed down. Having visited Howletts many times, this was one of our favourite places to see and such a happy childhood memory! Overall, a great zoo to visit with lots of happy, healthy animals.

Lovely wildlife park to visit, very peaceful and well set out. We visited just after the school summer holidays had ended so it was very quiet. A lot of the enclosures were very large so it was difficult to see some of the animals at first but after a couple of visits managed to see most of the animals. We visited on a very hot day and found that later in in the afternoon most of the animals had ventured out as it was a little cooler. Our main reason for visiting was to see the elephant herd before they are re-wilded later on in the year. It was wonderful to see such a large herd - we were lucky enough to meet Cindy who was a fantastic volunteer who was very knowledgeable, friendly & took the time to answer questions & we found out lots on interesting facts about the elephants. Well worth a visit!!! Best to check prices in advance as there are good deals on-line to save money.

A great experience, the park staff are all really helpful and happy to chat with you about what the Aspinal Foundation are doing. There are facilities dotted around the park, though some were closed as we went quite early in the season. I imagine all would be open at peak times. A lot of the animals are clearly visible. Probably best to go on a nice, hot day as most of the animals would be outside, enjoying the sunshine. Definitely look at getting tickets or packages in advance as the on-site price is £25 each!

It is a lovely place to visit, the animals are well cared for and have a good amount of room in their enclosures.
We had a great time doing a animal encounter with the lemurs, out was wonderful to be able to get up that close.
The zoo does look a little tired, maybe just because we went in November on a grey day.

Went in a Cold november 21st, really enjoyed ourselves, took 3 hours to get there but well worth it. Only half the animals were out cause it was so cold (primates cant be seen due to current situation) but it still took us 3 hours to walk around with a break in the coffee room. Really nice park with plenty of parking and the site was nice the paths were clear and no rubbish too be seen. Familys there were all respectful and kept quite while near animals. Cant wait to go back in summer when more animals are out. Really recommend this park, from our visit.

Purchased tickets from lovetovisit website at a good price. The queues were bad & not nice standing out in hot weather for over 30 minutes. When we got to the ticket entrance, we was told part of the park is closed because they are moving one of the elephants to another place. If I knew this prior to booking, we would have come a different day with our 9 year old grandson. We spent 3 and a half hours waking round & stopped for a picnic and drinks a couple of times. There are ample places to sit, plus cafes dotted about.

Fantastic day out! The animal park is huge but there are plenty of benches and refreshment areas to have a break and rest your feet.
Yes there is a lot of foliage in a lot of the enclosures as the keepers want it it to be as close to their wild habitats as possible. We saw plenty of animals and the ones that you don’t see first time you can always go back again. We didn’t see the lion at first by the entrance/exit so as we left ventured back to his enclosure and he was right at the front looking straight at us! Incredible.
The elephants are amazing and are being released back to the wild soon so recommend visiting soon so you don’t miss them. There are plenty of staff around to ask questions to and they are all very happy and helpful.
We did the lemur experience which was lovely. The keeper was very friendly and provided us with so much information about them. You aren’t aloud to touch them but as you can see in the photos came right up to us to receive food. There was a group of 5 of us but we all got an equal amount of time with the lemurs. A once in a lifetime experience.
Thoroughly recommend visiting this amazing wildlife park. It’s so great to know our money is going to a fabulous charity making such a difference. - Tessa Day, Founder and director of Club Hub U.K.

I went here with my two children and my friend with her two children.
The parking attendant wasn't very friendly. He shouted at me because me and my children were walking the wrong side of the road, apparently. There is no sign to say where to walk. We just walked at the side but apparently it was the wrong side.
The weather wasn't great. There are no sheltered areas at the zoo and it's all outdoors. There is one small play area for kids, but it's not great as there are a lot of kids and not enough things to play on.
We also walked around the zoo twice and only saw a few animals. Most of them were either hiding or not in site.
It was a disappointing zoo to be honest. I've been to most of them in the UK, so this one wasn't great in comparison.

Howletts has a great collection of animals, particularly wild cats. They have large feline groups ranging from the smallest ones to large ones like a tiger & Lion.
They have snow leopards which got to be the most special ones.
Lots of Gorillas and other primate animals.
Definitely it will be a great visit to go here. They are tesco vouchers, so you can use them to visit.
The only con is its a bit far from london.

We visited during an overnight stay at Port Lymph. It was very quiet when we arrived at 3:30pm and we were literally the only visitors on site. The children were desperate to see the elephants and they did not disappoint. It is much smaller than Port Lymph and the enclosures are reflective of that. Agree with other reviews that prices for drinks etc are very steep. £4 for a very average coffee and £2.20 for a small bottle of water!

A wonderfully laid out zoo, family friendly, cafes and toilets dotted around. Those with pushchairs and wheelchairs nice paths to follow but some may find slope a little steep when going to the elephants but they are a must see - most entertaining after the gorillas and monkeys. Also enjoyed learning about the ice age animals.

This animal park has some amazing animals and facilities. They have a lot of the large animals and it's nice they all have plenty of room. The park is really big and it is a really long walk to get around everything. It's also obviously all outdoors so you need to be prepared for the weather. There is tons for children of all ages to do. All the facilities we used were really nice and clean. The restaurant was lovely and not overpriced with cooked and prepackaged food on offer. Would definitely recommend as a day out.

every year it gets worse and worse.
the amount of time you have to spend on check-ins, etc., keeps getting longer

Many times there are long queues and the train is only or maybe half full.
the toilets smelly and very dirty. no water is standard.

The Folkestone Harbour Arm is a beautiful and relaxed day out in the sun with plenty of food options, as well as live music stages and seasonal events. The view of the far stretched blue waters of the English Channel is simply stunning and is open every day.
Clearly money and time are being spent on renovating the old platforms, and the surrounding goods yards, to make it a food, and a art hub.
It is easy to see the history of both the station and harbour.
A visit in season and on a fine day would show of the work and allow you to enjoy food and drink whilst watching the sea or looking at the exhibits rather than a cold wet day in March!

A very unique centre which offers the perfect viewing platform for the White cliffs of Dover, boasts a number of culinary options including a pub based in a light house, various vendors including the big Greek Bus, it also provided a great solution to re-using an old train station and turning it into an arts and culture centre as well as a gateway / entrance to the harbour arm.
Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful place to spend on a sunny day. Great views of the channel, and a lovely stretch of shingle beach. Water was clear, warm and inviting.

A super place to visit if you're in town any time of the year.
The restored train station and railway lines add a certain charm to the place, and the old wagons and units have been integrated imaginatively as bars, bistros and cafés.
There's plenty to enjoy for everyone, from putting mini golf to a weekend food court come market.

Great place for a stroll lots of food choices, little shops and entertainment. A really smart conversion from a dilapidated ferry terminal and train sidings to a vibrant full of life vistor attraction! Just watch toddlers as the fencing into the harbour is not kid proof!

Really enjoyed our (very windy) walk along the harbour arm. The eateries weren't open, but can imagine it gets busy on a weekend. The views and scenery were lovely. Really liked that the old train station has been kept and maintained.

Get place to meet friends. Loads of different vendors for food and drink. Little putting green to play on. Big car park, but when we arrived it was full and took ages to find parking elsewhere. Great afternoon out if the weather's good.

Lovely walk down the harbour arm. Great pub right at the end in the old light house. Lovely place to take dogs as in winter they can go on the beach too. My dog loves the sea, no matter how cold it might be. 🤦♂️

I love to visit this place.
Highly recommended.
I feel relax whenever I go to Folkestone, Harbour and beach.
Especially on sunny day. Fun, music, food etc.
You can also enjoy live ferries leaving Dover for Calais.

Excellent stalls in the marketplace. Which is open weekends and some stalls on Fridays too. Stalls open also during school holidays. Excellent range of food available enough the goods yard along with huge screen for sporting events.
Live music, details of which can be found on the harbour arm website. Some excellent artists are performing free in a great setting. Carparking available, although an easy walk across the harbour from the town and old high street. Well worth a visit.

Bright and breezy (very breezy!) Sunday afternoon to visit to the Harbour Arm, luckily the autumnal rain kept at bay. Shared a fab K-Chicken Bao Bun from Baoboba whilst my daughter enjoyed her Apple and Cherry Bob's Tea. Wanted to grab a drink but my daughter (her again!) insisted on going to DessertFolks for S'Mores Cookie and Mint Ice-cream; the cookie was huge and very, very good!
