I will not write here about the cafe at 3440 meters above sea level, because it has its place. If it's purely just about the train and the general place under the glacier, I have to say that I've only been here in winter so far. Except for the occasional crush on the train, it's wonderful here! They really always enjoy skiing here. Prepared slopes, plenty of snow even at a time when many resorts are already closed. Many different tracks with different levels of difficulty. I personally like the black one and especially its beginning from the cafe, although sometimes it is one big ice. I recommend everyone to go here and enjoy the beautiful scenery and great skiing.
Max Janek — Google review
What's good:
+ magnificent view
+ snow quality
Not impressed by:
- lifts: the train up to the glacier is inefficient (batch processing, might take you half an hour), the best slopes can be reached by T lift or gondola only, means you'll get to spend more time on the lifts than on the slopes compared to other ski resorts.
- mountain cabins/culinary experience: caters to mass tourism, lacking the typical charm of Austrian mountain hospitality. Overpriced (even compared to other ski resorts), bad quality of food. Only 2 restaurants in the whole skiing area.
- pricing: opaque. It's cheaper to buy online tickets in advance, but they don't tell you that at any point - even when I asked the cashier directly.
- opening hours: as advertised, but only theoretically. They advertise lift operations till 4 pm, in reality the most important lifts stop earlier.
Happy I've been there, but no desire to return. There are much better skiing areas around.

Wonderful place, breathtaking views, decent restaurant. Must see in Tirol
Klaudia Ruminska — Google review
Great place high up the mountain. Can take a bit of getting used to if it's your first day because of the height and lack of oxygen. Be sure to get up the panorama deck and you can see many miles in each direction!
Ruud van Gaal — Google review
Since 2013 almost every winter with my family and friends enjoyed this great skiing for couple of days. Long quality tracks with dusty snow...
Great views and good service of local restaurants (it can be bit occupied around lunch, but worth visiting - best time to have lunch between 13:30 and 14:00.)
Good for kids too. Snowtubbing and kids tracks...
Katar?na Otavov? — Google review
A place with a different vibe than other Glaciers - much less luxurious and much more focused on skiing.
Be prepared to spend some time in the queue to the train from the parking lot - as this is the only way to get there.
Sergey Afanasiev — Google review
Great ski resort, good for beginners and advanced winter sport humans. The facility is family friendly and there is enough to do for children.
Almost all the staff was friendly there service was mostly fantastic.
T S — Google review
One of the glacier ski resorts in Tyrol, Austria. Compared to other glaciers, it's a big area with broad and well-prepared slopes. Most of them are intermediate difficulty, only 1 or 2 for beginners (blue) or experts (black) In general it would be between a small and medium-sized resort. Most lifts are seats, well maintained, on one slope you can actually go all the way to the valley starting at the glacier.
The highlight is the 3440 restaurant on top of the mountain offering great food quality, all fresh and tasty, but of course for a price well above average. The restaurant is nicely designed, modern with a breathtaking view on all surrounding 3000+ meter high Alps. Recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the winter wonderland at Pitztaler Gletscher, nestled in the picturesque Pitztal valley. This ski resort exceeded my expectations in every aspect, making it a memorable and exhilarating getaway.
One of the standout features of Pitztaler Gletscher was the impeccable slope preparation. Each day, the slopes were meticulously groomed, providing a smooth and enjoyable skiing experience. The attention to detail in maintaining the conditions of the slopes truly enhanced the overall skiing atmosphere.
For those seeking a balanced mix of challenge and fun, Pitztaler Gletscher offers predominantly intermediate slopes. This makes it an ideal destination for both seasoned skiers looking to test their skills and beginners eager to progress to the next level. The variety of slopes caters to a wide range of abilities, ensuring that everyone in your group can find the perfect run to suit their preferences.
One of the highlights for me was the freeride capabilities of Pitztaler Gletscher. The resort provides ample opportunities for adventurous skiers to explore off-piste areas and embrace the thrill of untouched powder. The freeride options added an extra layer of excitement to my skiing adventure, and I had a blast charging through the pristine snow.
The stunning alpine scenery surrounding Pitztaler Gletscher is simply breathtaking. The panoramic views of the snow-covered peaks and the charming Pitztal valley create a picturesque backdrop for an unforgettable winter retreat. The resort's location adds to the overall appeal, providing a serene and tranquil atmosphere that enhances the joy of skiing.
In conclusion, Pitztaler Gletscher offers a perfect blend of well-prepared slopes, intermediate challenges, and thrilling freeride opportunities in a stunning alpine setting. Whether you're a seasoned skier or a novice, this resort has something to offer for everyone. My time at Pitztaler Gletscher was nothing short of spectacular, and I can confidently recommend it to fellow winter enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable ski vacation.

Love this place. Hidden from the winds, it is a smaller, so familiar area. Prices in the restaurant are high thou - 5,50€ for 3.33 cola etc.
Karel Škréta — Google review
Not recommended at the end of the season, only the glacier is accessible for the same price as the full area. Today there was fresh snow but they didn't even bother to prepare the slopes, rather running their equipment to gather the fresh snow in some packed hills for later. Glacier express lift is not run in sync with ski bus, you see the bus drive off when leaving lift, for example.
Peter D'Hoye — Google review
Unforgettable experience, lot of activities around and great café on the top
Liza Bel — Google review
Lots of places to try riding fresh powder directly from lifts, and plenty of tours outside the resort.
paweł kamiński — Google review
The most beautiful and attractive place during our skiing holiday in the surrounding valleys.Wide, fast pistes and sufficient capacity will allow the feeling of skiing. The quality of the snow and the preparation of the slopes in the 1st place on the list, the less crowded resort compared to its eastern neighbor will guarantee smooth tours even in the afternoon. The staff is willing, pleasant, the facilities of the center are exemplary. I definitely recommend. (skied several days in a row, not infrequently over 12,000 vertical meters)
Schloss Linderhof, a palace built in the 19th century, boasts extravagant interiors filled with mirrors and chandeliers. Although small in size, it is richly decorated and surrounded by French gardens complete with fountains and follies. The castle was inspired by Versailles and dedicated to Louis XIV, the French Sun King. King Ludwig II used this palace as a secluded retreat and rarely entertained guests there.
Such a Beautiful place. In summer the palace looks spectacular. From April to October you can take a visit inside the Castle and the tickets are only 10 euro per person. It’s amazing inside the king residence. There are very good English speaking tour guides who can explain very nicely to the non-german speaker visitors. The whole palace area is so peaceful and well maintained. You can just sit and relax under a tree. It’s also looks beautiful in winter specially with snow. But I would recommend you to visit is summer. It looks more lively in Summer.
Shamima Akhter Shanchi — Google review
So I was a bit let down at first. When you see the palace from the outside you’ll see it’s not very big. And you wonder why it’s even called a palace. The first room you walk into is definitely beautiful, but still not as extravagant as I expected. Then you get up stairs and it blows your mind. Definitely a decor to impress. It’s a light walk up from the ticket office. They will not let you take pictures inside. Still it’s breath taking, but a very short tour. Maybe 30 minutes max
Baron Migs — Google review
We did an English tour of the palace and it was nice. You tour a few beautiful rooms full of gold, a massive bed, and some beautiful art and antiques, and the whole tour is about 25 minutes. No pictures allowed, but dogs are allowed inside if they’re carried. The grounds are lovely. The gift shop has good variety and there’s a cafe. Parking cost 3€. I would recommend coming early to beat the crowds and book your tour online.
Nguyen Nguyen — Google review
This is a beautiful palace, opulent and a monument to Ludwig's vision. It is not as large as Neuschwanstein, nor perched on a mountain, but it is a lovely forest setting and has beautiful gardens to walk around in and it is very peaceful. It's a shame they only show the opulence (which was good) as Ludwig was a fan of the latest technology and we would have liked to have seen other aspects of the building.
Brenton B — Google review
The grounds surrounding the palace are gorgeous. Plenty of fountains, a lake, hiking trails, gardens etc.
Entrance to the park surrounding the palace is free so at a cost of 3 euro for parking you get a great deal.
Visiting the interior of the palace can only be done via a guided tour so it's worth buying a ticket when entering the compound and walk around the park until the time of the tour arrives. It's nice and worth the price but not a must have.
???? ??? — Google review
One of our favorite palaces to visit and the one where Ludwig II lived the most time. Massive fountain... just wait for the timed display. The best part was that nearly the whole Palace is available to tour (most others tour a very limited portion). The palace is in excellent shape, as are the gardens and fountains. Also much easier to get in to the tour than some other.
Matt Sigal — Google review
Absolutely amazing. It was so nice to see this castle. Every room was as it was back them. The tour guide was so knowledgeable and informative. The grounds were glorious. It was an easy walk and very affordable. Loved our visit and the story behind the castle. Well worth the visit
D D — Google review
Beautiful castle built for King Ludwig II, with gorgeous gardens. The tour is a must. This was combined with the tour to Neuschwanstein castle and worth the full day excursion. You tour multiple rooms of the castle and hear about the personal life of the eccentric king. No photos inside the castle but the grounds and outside are photo worthy.
Theresa Esposito — Google review
One of my favorite places to see in Munich, while it may be the smallest palace, it is still quite impressive.
I visited as a part of a tour bus group, so the ticket was only 9€. We got a ticket with the specific time slot to enter, so didn’t have to wait in line.
The palace is narrow, and has stairs, so I don’t think it’s suitable for wheelchair users. The tour doesn’t take long, and it moves, though, slowly.
A special thanks to our guide, Mr Schneider; he’s great at his job, and clearly loves the topic he’s talking about. He made the visit much more enjoyable. We joked, that we wouldn’t mind having him showing us all the other castles and palaces.
Stefania — Google review
Beautiful little one man palace! Used to be a hunting lodge but King Ludwig did some serious upgrades and made this palace a mini gold gilded home - seriously - gold everywhere once you enter. Extravagant, over the top decor seems to cover every inch of the inside! My wife and I toured this area in February when there were almost no crowds and loved it but will come back in the spring when the outside fountains and gardens are open and in full bloom!
Philip Smith — Google review
The whole Schloss Linderhof compound was a lot of fun to walk around and pretty easy with a toddler. We didn't tour inside of the palace due to not getting tickets ahead of time, but we still enjoyed our time here. Even without going inside, the trip was well worth it.
Justin O — Google review
Amazing palace with a beautiful garden and a wonderful setting with the mountains in the backdrop.
It really is a very relaxing scene with plenty of things to see and explore.
It’s really nice to see how well it was preserved and being taken of.
It’s very reasonably priced. Parking is about €3 and admission to the palace and hunting hut is €10.
Really cool place to check out.
Rawad Elias — Google review
Lots of pressed gold leaf, opulently decorated residence of King Ludwig II with an equally impressive formal garden.
Situated about 1.5 hours from Munich, this Baroque style small castle is the only one King Ludwig II lived to see completed. The Castle guided tour is quite short at around 30 minutes (the info is similar to that in Wikipedia). The rooms with the most lasting impression is the Hall of Mirrors and his spacious bedroom - decorated in ornate, theatrical style, complete with an enormous Indian Ivory chandelier. There are no photographs allowed inside the Palace.
The formal garden with its geometric, colourful flower beds, clipped hedging, statues, fountains - is a joy to photograph.
Ming — Google review
Very friendly staff who do excellent tours of the interior of the palace in excellent English. No photography inside the building, but lots of pictures can be taken of the exterior and the amazing gardens. Great facilities such as cafe shop and plenty of toilets! A hidden gem well worth a visit.
David S — Google review
Linderhof Castle nestled in the heart of the enchanting Bavarian Alps is a masterpiece of opulence and architectural finesse.
The palace itself is a visual delight, with its intricate design and immaculate gardens. Each room tells a story of lavish luxury, showcasing the refined taste of King Ludwig II. The Hall of Mirrors is a particular highlight. A breathtaking display of mirror-lined walls and crystal chandeliers that create an illusion of infinite space and light.
The surrounding gardens are a work of art in their own right, with perfectly manicured lawns, fountains, and sculptures.
It's a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking to be enchanted by the grandeur of the past.
Bart D — Google review
One of the most beautiful places in Germany! Not big, but stunning castle with sculptures, fountains and landscaping design! Mountains around looks great! But for the cold season, statues are closed to keep from destruction, so I recommend to visit Linderhof Palace in summer to see maximum
Ілона Бабкіна — Google review
Beautiful palace in southwest Bavaria - well worth the trip down here if you're a tourist near Munich. It might be a bit of a unknown area, but of the many castles we saw in Bavaria this was definitely top. The price is reasonable for the amount of cool things you get to see in the Palace and park. The walk is approx. 20min to the palace itself, and you should line up at your according time to make sure you don't miss your tour spot.
Mat Bienczyk — Google review
As a mother of five children, ranging in age from 15 to 1 year old, I can't say enough about our wonderful experience at Linderhof Palace. Visiting in the month of February allowed us to see this stunning gem in a beautiful winter setting.
From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel welcome and accommodated our large family with ease. The grounds were impeccably maintained, and the palace itself was like something out of a fairytale. The kids were absolutely mesmerized by the beautiful architecture and the snow-covered gardens.
The guided tour of the palace was informative and engaging, keeping the attention of all of my children (even the wiggly ones). They were fascinated by the opulent decor and the stories of King Ludwig II. The older kids were able to appreciate the historical significance of the palace, while the younger ones simply marveled at the grandeur of it all.
After the tour, we spent time exploring the expansive gardens, where the kids had a blast running around. The snow-capped mountains in the distance provided a breathtaking backdrop for our family photos.
We also enjoyed a warm cup of hot chocolate at the on-site café, which was a welcome treat on a chilly day. The staff was accommodating and patient with our large group, and we never felt rushed or unwelcome.
Overall, our visit to Linderhof Palace was an unforgettable experience for our family. It was a perfect mix of history, culture, and natural beauty that appealed to all of my children. I highly recommend this attraction to any family looking for a memorable and educational outing. We can't wait to visit again in the future.

We only stayed outside while in transit from Swangau to Salsburg. It was being winterized so the fountains were off and covered. Stunning gardens.
Daniel De Lisle — Google review
Gorgeous castle with rich history, the tour is worth the expense - quite informational and posh. No touching and no photographs. The interior is under constant renovation. The castle is a small hike from the entrance, with varying altitudes on the compound. The garden is beautifully landscaped with many picturesque spots and statutes. There is a gift shop at the base, near the entrance. The terrain is manageable. Climate was moderate for early June, almost hot. Highly recommend!
L.A. T — Google review
A very gorgeous castle definitely to be visited. Try to get there early to avoid crowds. Also do book a tour to visit the castle from inside as it's very impressive. The rest of the palace grounds are free and nice to wander about.
Bharathi Mani — Google review
Beautiful palace constructed by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. It is the smallest of the three built by him and also the one he lived in the most. Built in a manner befitting Louis the XIV of France, it is highly ornate and gilded and has lots of mirrors. Only the first floor is currently open to visitors and tours are conducted by guides. Tickets have to be purchased and can be done in advance.
Roy Mathew — Google review
Lovely place. It was smaller than I thought it would be, but it was a great tour inside. The rooms are well worth a look, there's lots of delicate and old ornaments to admire. The staff are friendly and informative. You can't take pictures inside, so enjoy the tour while it lasts.
The gardens surrounding the Palace are lovely and definitely worth having a wander around while you're waiting for your tour time.
18th-century oval church with well-preserved frescoes, stuccowork & a trompe l'oeil ceiling.
This is quite remarkable. The setting and story behind it quite impressive. The scenery is beautiful. The church itself is magnificent!
Wanderers Compass Travel Blog — Google review
You can’t help feeling closer to the Lord just walking into the beautiful church. Everyone was so respectful and felt at awe looking at all the detailed pictures and statues. I even gave my euros to light a candle to bless my family.
Malissa F — Google review
There’s a reason y this church is a unesco world heritage site. This Rocco style church is so intricately designed that even after a few church viewing/tours, it never fails to awe me.
A pro tip, do remember to stand in the middle of the church and look directly up. It’s like a painted picture book right out of the ages.
Kelvin Chua — Google review
This church is so beautiful. There are carving in the pew rails dating back to the 1800's. The art wood is beautiful. A must see on the Edelweiss tour.
Cheryl Stamper — Google review
The peaceful pastural setting of this sweet church is deceiving. Simple on the outside, it holds an abundance of riches inside!!! As we were leaving, a family was just coming in. The man made an audible gasp as he took in the gorgeous interior! One of the highlights of this trip for me! DON'T MISS THIS!!!
Pam Marshall Guise — Google review
A hidden gem! We were tipped off by another tour guide that we should check it out, and they were right... we took some little back road to get there and came upon it and were surprised. But, it's even more amazing inside!
Jarrod Long — Google review
The Pilgrimage Church of Wies (Wieskirche) was designed in the late 1740s by brothers Zimmermann. It is located in the foothills of the Alps, in Steingaden in Bavaria. Since 1983 it is under the protection of UNESCO because of its outstanding rococo architecture. It is not very large, but it’s interior is superb!
Emilia Stammler — Google review
This church literally is in the middle of nowhere. After taking off the highway, it took us another 15-20 minutes on a narrow curvy countryside road, suddenly the massive church came insight. It was beautiful with white and gold sculptures. The ceiling paintings were captivating. But it was so dark inside the church. It’s so hard to get clear view on either the sculptures or the ceiling. I wish it could have turned the lights on to make visitors enjoy its beauty more.
Aggie Wang — Google review
Nature, a church in the field, in the middle of nowhere. You open the door and fall into a rococo fairy tale, the eyes and the mind cannot take in all this beauty
Rumyana Lazarova — Google review
Church in the middle of nowhere. Nothing special to see from from the outside. But WOW! What a treasure of surprises inside. The artwork is spectacular. Intricate and delicate from floor to ceiling. Don't pass it by. You won't be disappointed
Robert Cooper — Google review
Beautiful church in a wonderful setting. You can get lost in the ceiling. Central to the church is a statue of the scourged Jesus. Originally in the small chapel in front it became pilgrimage site after the statue began to weep and miracles we credited to it. The current church was commissioned to accommodate the statue and pilgrims.
Brian Saylor — Google review
the Pilgrimage Church of Wies, or Wieskirche in German, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a stunning example of Rococo architecture. It's located in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps, near the village of Wies in southwestern Germany.
The church was built in the mid-18th century as a result of a miraculous event that reportedly took place there. The interior of the church is decorated with elaborate stucco work and frescoes, and it features a magnificent altar and pulpit.
The Pilgrimage Church of Wies is known for its unique and harmonious design, which blends Rococo and Baroque styles to create a truly breathtaking space. It's also famous for its excellent acoustics, making it a popular venue for classical music concerts and performances.
Visitors to the church can take guided tours or explore the space on their own. It's a popular pilgrimage site, particularly during the summer months, and attracts visitors from all over the world. If you're interested in art, architecture, or religious history, the Pilgrimage Church of Wies is definitely worth a visit.
The Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century hilltop fortress constructed for King Ludwig II. The castle, which resembles Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, was created to recreate the world of Germanic mythology inspired by Richard Wagner's operatic works. The Sängersaal or Minstrels Hall is the most stunning room in the castle, with frescoes depicting scenes from Tannhäuser opera.
From the car park to reach the castle you can walk or take a ride with the bus or carriage. The tickets to get inside the castle are at the base, where the transportation is. Unfortunately I couldn't visit it inside as I didn't had enough time to wait one hour and a half for the next group tour. But next time I'll be more prepared for this. Even so seeing the castle surroundings was a very nice experience. You have plenty of nice views and lots of nice spots to take beautiful pictures.
Raul Gavris — Google review
Absolutely amazing location! This castle is just like from the fairytale! Take Romantic route when going there- you will enjoy beautiful countryside views and a lot of cows on the road! Castle itself located on the hill and reaching it by foot will take some 20-30 minutes. But you can take bus or horse ride there also! Tickets to enter the castle should be booked in advance- otherwise you will enjoy only from the outside, as we did!
Denis Nikolajev — Google review
It was a beautiful place but lots of hiking and it's difficult to find the spot where you can take an instagram worthy photo of the castle and even if you do, you will have to wait in line for 40 minutes to get there. It's so crowded in August that instead of enjoying the place, you will get a headache. But minus the crowd, it's a wonderful place!
Umama Shah — Google review
Beautiful place!! I went near the end of November and it was snowy. Not all restaurants were open but there were enough to get a bit to eat. Easy walk around the area; both castles and the lake. Two viewpoints were blocked off because of the snow which was disappointing but understandable. The snow made it magical but if you want to see all sides of the castle go in warmer weather. It is about a 25 minute tour of the castle and you cannot take pictures or video inside. I used the GetYourGuide app to book a full day tour from Munich and it was a comfortable easy way to go! It is about a 30-40 minute walk up a paved path to the Castle so wear comfortable shoes. You have to sign up for a tour time so as to not overcrowd the castle. Lockers are accessible near the entrance of the castle and plenty of gift shops. Check this one off the bucket list!
Jacqueline Harens — Google review
I love coming back to this castle. It has something magical about it. I’ve seen it in all four seasons and each season has its own beauty. However the negative side of going there in winter is that the bridge where you could take good pictures of the castle could be closed due to weather conditions.
From the parking lot to the foot of the entrance, you can take a horse drawn carriage which cost at present eight euros per person for each direction. However, you can also walk it, which takes a good 20 minutes. From there it’s another 10 to 15 minute walk to the actual entrance of the castle.
I find the tour to be a bit short. I took a tour a few years ago where it was longer, but I suppose they no longer offer that. I do enjoy having a cup of coffee and cake inside a castle, though after the tour.
Jamie — Google review
The castle is beautiful! Too bad that on the inside you can’t take pictures.
On the outside you’re one step from the alps, trees and 2 beautiful lakes that make the place look like taken out of a book.
The walls, ceiling, and ornaments are wonderful, of course like every castle is full of amazing stuff
Adriana Valenzuela — Google review
What can anyone say about the world famous fairytale castle Neuschwanstein. It is stunning and surreal in person. The tour is well worth but make sure to book in advance. Getting to it is a challenge but no matter the method it is inexpensive. Even the horse drawn carriages was 7 euros a person. Many still walked, even in the rain.
The story around the castle is fascinating and sad. It was far from done when King Ludwig was killed. Only can imagine what it would be if he could have finished it.
Stayed in the nearby town of Fussen. Such a lovely place. Would not stay near the Castles as there is not much to do.

I had been wanting to visit for many years since my first visit to Bavaria. I'm glad I did as it is, obviously, a very impressive and beautiful building set in fantastic scenery.
No pictures are permitted to be taken while on the tour itself. Obviously some people still try, but thankfully the staff are quick to stop them.
Tours are run on a timed entry system and conducted with audio guides. Surgical masks are required. Homemade/cloth masks are not permitted. If you try to enter without a mask, or with a cloth mask, you will be made to pay €4 for an accepted one.
Buy your tickets ahead of time. A limited number of day tickets are available at the tourist centre in Schwangau (no tickets are available for purchase at the castle itself) but they go very quickly.
Don't miss the view from Marienbrucke before going into the castle itself.
Small cafe on site after the tour. Not bad, not great.
Gift shop has usual kind of trinkets and is pricey.

We purchased our tickets in advance and printed them at home. They are timed and you can only enter the inside of the castle 10 minutes before the "tour" starts. I recommend getting the first tour of the day because the parking lots fill up and it gets hot in the summer.
We caught a bus from parking lot #4 up to the top of the hill. You pay on the bus - cash only - a few euros per person. From there we walked to a bridge with an excellent view of the castle and took some photos. We then walked to the castle and waited for our tour to start. We had an audio guided tour which was very informative. This castle is stunning, beautifully preserved and cared for. It's definitely a bucket list place to visit. After our tour we walked back downhill to our car. Highly recommend visiting this castle.

This castle is amazing , the views are spectacular the inside is just beautiful you have to see it to understand . You cannot take pictures inside the castle We took a horse drawn carriage up to the castle for about 8 euros and 4 euros down trust me either take the carriage or bus the walk is all up hill and about 30 minutes . There is plenty of parking and restaurants and cafes to eat and get drinks from there are also souvenir shops inside the castle . And the place is very crowded so if you can get there early . You cannot bring any bags inside and also no cameras . But do not miss being inside the mad kings castle .

Amazing palace in an amazing location between plains, lakes and high mountains. It looks medieval but is modern. Worth any voyage to come experience it and its surroundings.
Not that easy to get to but the climb/walk only adds to the luster of your visit. Reservations run out weeks in advance in summer so plan your visit well.
The bridge is best but not for the faint-hearted. I only go up a bit to take the amazing pictures of the castle, mountains, plain and lake.
We did not enjoy coming with a disabled person. We booked for a disabled person and an accompanying adult but:
1. You can't get to the front gate without climbing
2. You can't use the elevators in the castle unless you have a separate ticket for it, which I was not told about
3. The horse carriage stops running at 6pm even though we were told it would run until after our tour finished, so my mother had to hitch a ride back in an employee's car. If none had been available, she would have had to spend the night on the mountain somehow.

A very beautiful castle! The old markings and objects within the halls and rooms are outstandingly stunning. This castle tells its story very well and the tourer guides explain every detail down to a fine art, giving a clear picture of who owned the castle and how it functioned. The view is so striking and the area around is a very nice and cute town, reflecting the castles beauty from above and below. Would recommend a visit!

Visiting the castle must be planned in advance by purchasing tickets on the website. The experience is unique. If the weather is good (no rain or fog) you will get wonderful photographs of the view of the Castle, the lake and the city itself, which is very charming. On the way to the Castle and minutes before the center you can find good restaurants. I recommend the tour!

Gorgeous. Magnificent. Outstanding. Breathtaking. Impressive.🤩
There could be other dozens of way to describe this gem, easily.
The best sights are gotten from the Marienbrucke.
From the inside it was never finished so there are two storeys empty and the visit is somehow rather short accordingly.

Beautifully crafted structure. A masterpiece on its own. You can book tickets online. You can park the vehicle and then take a bus or the horse carriage to reach the Castle. 10 mins walk from the Bus stop. Please take return ticket of the bus at the time of taking the trip to the castle saves some money.
Ambarish P — Google review
The scenery around it is absolutely stunning. Weather is just perfect on December, around 10 degree C and not too mild. Entrance fee may not justify the price as it is only a 5 min tour esp for someone had seen next level wall painting like in Vatican.

A must see! Love Germany, so pretty, stunning views. Please note that it is a long very steep walk from the parking area. There are horse carriages you can take up, unsure the cost.

Beautiful. The scenery is amazing. Take the bus to the castle and look out but walk back. Make sure to swim in the lake located between the 2 castles, it makes for a great way to finish a warm day walking between the castles.
Kevin Smith — Google review
It's a beautiful place, but everything is made in order for you to pay a bit more.
Also, I highly recommend going early in the morning. We came the first time in the afternoon, and there were literally a hundred or more persons waiting for the bus to take you up to the castle.
Siwang Daopian — Google review
Give yourself plenty of time for photos and taking in the breathtaking views. September was a stunning time to visit. The castle is beautiful but the views from the castle are even more spectacular. There were flowers everywhere, the meadows were lush green and lakes dotted with sailboats. We saw a dozen hangliders floating through the sky, what an incredible view that must have been.

Incredible Castle (inside and outside) is a must if you are in Bavaria. The only negative point would be that there is not much time to appreciate in the castle tour.
Couldn't find online tickets but risk it in going and was able to get the ticket (€ 15 per person)
Also, recommend to go to the bridge (20min walk from castle) perfect castle view and the wait is not that long just really crowded.

Absolutely beautiful castle & grounds. We took the horse & carriage up for 8 euro per person and then walked back down. We had a gorgeous day to be there. I'd highly recommend getting there early if you pre purchased your audio tour so you have plenty of time to get to the check in. ❤️

First time visiting real castle. So good! Definitely worth visiting if you are in Munich. We went for a day tour, very very informative so you can understand the history! Tons of excitement and good architectural. Castle was built by limestone. I visited on the winter time.
Heard that when it’s summer, more sunlight, it makes the castle shines due to the limestones structure.

The castle is beautiful, although the place is very tourist-like. Can't enter the castle gates without a ticket and it's a specific time you may enter with your ticket. They will recommend a bus, and then a 15 minute walk from the bus stop. But you can walk up from the start of the bus to the castle in 20-25 minutes.

Absolutely magnificent castle! The art and architecture is incredible. The history is beautiful. I loved all the colors inside and all the different rooms. The outside view is absolutely chanting. Definitely worth the trip to check it out. My favorite were the murals which were inspirations for many stories that I am familiar with!

Absolutely a rip-off, don’t take the €20 tour of the castle, you are climbing almost 200 stairs during the tour and it’s not worth it. The castle’s gift shops rips you off as well, the place mats were €7 in the first gift shop, then it was down to €5 in the second one on the way to exit. The view is nice, breathtaking but that’s just it. A very touristic place. Not worth it. Instead you can enjoy the view and have lunch in the restaurants maybe…just an idea…
Muzaffer Cagin IPEKOGLU — Google review
By tickets in advance or else there's the risk of not being able to enter the castle. Also I highly recommend going on that little hike after crossing the bridge. You will find a nice photo spot with very few people.
Victor Burcovschi — Google review
Worth a tour of the interior to see the artistry and hear about its inception. The tour wasn’t long and was a large group, leaving slower wanderers or those with more questions a bit rushed. But worth it! If uncertain of the signs for where to start your hike, you can follow the road that the carriages take. Also hiking to the view from the bridge is a must!
Kaitlyn Kline — Google review
This place is a great location, you have free parking and can walk around the castle at night and early morning before anyone’s around.
However it’s really more of a hostel, we had to share a bathroom and toilet and there was no kettle and a very basic bed, all okay for an overnight but nothing special
Breakfast was very nice and staff team lovely.

A very beautiful Castle from outside! One must definitely visit. It was wonderful to trek up the hill up till the Marienbrücke and take some spectacular pics of the castle and the river beneath! Overall takes around half a day to tour.
Highline179 is an exhilarating pedestrian suspension bridge that spans 406 meters over a river gorge, connecting the castle ruins of Ehrenberg with Fort Claudia in Reutte. Adjacent to the Burg, this thrilling bridge offers visitors the sensation of floating as they walk across its narrow and open construction. The bridge stands at a height of 114 meters above the ground and provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Beautiful views and fascinating castle fortress ruins. Also handy to a wonderful restaurant!
The bridge bounced a bit but very secure and doesn't swing uncontrollably. Beautiful views of the ruins from this vantage point. Looking forward to visiting again. About an hour drive from Innsbruck. You could spend a few hours or whole day exploring this historic site.
Kevin W — Google review
The bridge has Beautiful view of Alps. The bridge is hanging and it’s a thrilling experience!
If you are planning to go by public transport, avoid public holidays because the bus / train have less frequency and you may not get a proper connection. Getting a taxi is also tough if you need more than one taxi.
On other days, it’s pretty easy to reach and the route is very scenic.
Rasika Vartak — Google review
Do not miss this spot! This was my 3rd time here because the view is incredible. It's easy to spend a few hours here between the ruins and bridge. If you're afraid of heights, i at least recommend seeing the Ehrenburg ruins at the minimum. It's spectacular to see with the view over Reutte.
Alex Kovac — Google review
Summary: beautiful views, very wobbly, thrilling, worth the price.
Details:
🅿️ A very large parking area with enough space for hundreds of cars, it gets quite busy though so you may not be able to park close to the entrance.
🎟️ You buy tickets inside the tourist area, and the workers speak great English! Tickets are ~€15 for access to the lift up, the bridge and the first castle ruins. Great price for all that’s included.
🚾 toilets are located next to the lift that takes you up, and they cost €1 to use. They’re spacious and well kept though.
🛗 the lift up is robust and feels very sturdy with excellent views on the ascent. There are hand rails to hold onto for stability.
🏰 the ruins are up very steep hills and are not accessible to those with mobility issues, but they are great to walk around. Interesting boards in English describe their history.
🌁 the bridge itself was an awesome experience. You can see through the bottom the whole way, and if you go on a windy day as I did, it really does wobble a lot. The views are immense but my partner was very scared with his fear of heights. You exit the same way, so you have to walk over it twice!
Lauren Austin — Google review
It’s a bit of adrenaline full place, depends if you like high view, literally from the sky to the bottom. Place is really nice and ticket are not too expensive. I would even recommend to walk to the bridge - it’s is around 15-20 mins and possible even for kids. Otherwise you can take lift. Parking is big enough, if it’s not high season it should be enough place for all. Like it!
Ales Kus — Google review
This is a great tourist attraction for a half day's outing. Beware though as it's not for the faint hearted or people afraid of heights.
We took the kids (6 and 4), who thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
For those who don't want to walk for 20-30minbup a steep hill to get to the access point of the bridge there is an elevator, which makes it good for all ages and sizes. If you want to look at the castle on top of the hill you will need some stamina.
Price wise it's rather expensive for a family outing (hence only 4 stars), but worth it, especially when the wind makes the bridge wobble ;-)
For the kids there's a playground and for sustenance there is a restaurant by the parking lot underneath the bridge.
REL SA — Google review
What an amazing experience. You could easily spend there all day exploring the castle, bridge and surrounding area. So much to do and see!
Micha? Niezgoda — Google review
A must go if in the area. You can look down through the bottom. Breath taking and Quite thrilling.
Since it is hanging it moves a bit when you walk. Wide enough to walk on both directtions.
If you are scared of heights this is not an activitie for you.
Toilets and refreshments all the way up. Spectacular view at the castle if you cross the bridge. So happy we stopped even though we were just passing through 😊
Myanne Luxn — Google review
Must visit, well worth the detour!
Pro tip: car parking is €5 for a day, not license plate specific. So once you are about to leave, help someone out who’s heading to the parking meter and give them your parking ticket.
There’s enough to do here to spend hours, we only walked up to the bridge (15 min zigzagging up) and enjoyed the amazing views on top of the bridge. All very safe for younger kids.
But next to that, there’s a picturesque castle, a small kids playground and instead of walking up you can use a fancy funicular.
Marcel van Poeijer — Google review
Awesome. Scary, but absolutely awesome.
I'd recommend being here early if you want to avoid the crowd.
You can walk up in fifteen minutes and buy a ticket either near the buildings below or on top, next to the bridge entry.
Parking is 5 Euro and the bridge entry (for the whole day) is 8 Euro (September 2023).
Dennis S — Google review
The bridge is relatively stable and after 100 meter of excitement the remaining of the walk is with no fear.
The walk on the trail to the bridge is about 25-30 minutes. You can take the non- occupied cable car for additional 9 EUR beside the admittance fee to the bridge of 10 EUR.
The view from the bridge and from the ancient castle near the bridge is great
Eytan Shiran — Google review
Highline 179 is thrilling if you aren't a heights person. If you like heights, no problem. If you don't like heights go on a day that is not windy. If the bridge starts shaking, it's a bit scary. Great views though once you're up there. It's not so bad if you don't look directly down. Look out instead.
Adrianna Tondi — Google review
Absolutely beautiful view from the suspension bridge!! We purchased tickets to the top (it was rainy and windy & we didn’t have time to hike). You can hike to the top to see the castle, but you need tickets to walk across the suspension bridge.
You can buy tickets at the store or you can purchase from the machines by the entrance to the bridge.
Be sure to wear grippy shoes as the hike up has a lot of loose gravel and you will slide.
Tela Royston — Google review
Fantastic place! Advice: if you arrive after 18:00, the elevator does not work. You can climb up by walk, and the bridge is available to visit, however, tickets at the highline entrance can only be payed by cash. You have to go back to the elevator stops (top or bottom), then you can buy tickets by card.

Wow what a bridge! You must visit if you are in the area. Not best for those who don't like heights. It's 406m long 114m height and it wobbles a bit, but is perfectly safe. Apparently its good for 1000 people's weight, however it's limited to 500! A train will take you to the top of you don't want to walk. It's €15 for the bridge and train, Ehrenburg castle and Fort Claudia.

It was great to visit here. It's taller than I imagined, swaying, and scary. But once I crossed over, I got used to going back. I used the elevator to avoid walking up the bridge. An outdoor combination ticket of €15 allows you to use the elevator and the bridge.
caution! There is no toilet upstairs.
There is a vending machine across the bridge.
You can see a very beautiful scenery when you cross the bridge, so please do your best.
Many people crossed the bridge and returned at about 30%. The dog was trembling as he walked. Wheelchair friendly!
Children run across. Children are amused and shake the bridge. It's horrible.
I was worried when the bottom plate would come off. But maybe the bottom plate won't come off.

Great spot, definitely recommend a visit.
With a car.
Do not recommend catching a bus there.
We had to walk 45 minutes to the nearest bus stop to get back to Reutte.
Still worth it though.

What a thing!
For someone with a acute fear of heights it's the last place you want to go. It's terrifying!
But, with the help of my wife, I pinned my eyes to the top of the trees and held on to the handrails. I made it.
So, yes, it is possible, for anyone.
Go there. You won't be disappointed.

We really enjoyed our trip to Ruette and our walk across this fabulous foot bridge. The views of the mountains, the castle, and valley are breathtaking. It also makes visiting the Claudia castle much easier.

The cable car to the top was offline the day we went so we had to walk up the trail. A fairly steep walk, but vermuch worth it. The suspension bridge felt very safe and it was a thrill to go across. The views are spectacular. We also toured the old castle and forts. And took the 2nd cable car (working) to the top. Beautiful experience.

Wonderful place for a short hiking. We hiked here from the hospital parking lot in the other side. Took the gear lift to the top of a ruin. It was foggy and rainy but was fun. Highline hanging bridge costs 10 EUR for round trip. The gear lift is 8 EUR for up and down which is fairly cheap.

This was an incredible experience!! The views are spectacular, and it was a nice, enjoyable, short, but a little steep hike up the mountain. You may want to check on that if you go if you are not into that. The elevator was not running.

This place is absolutely beautiful! Parking is an open parking lot and you can pay with your card there. It's only €5/ day! You can decide to use the lift to go up or you can hike both to Fort Claudia or the other castle. The view is spectacular and we had a wonderful time exploring!

Highline179 is an architectural wonder in Reutte, Austria, offering an unforgettable experience. Spanning 406 meters, it stands as one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges globally, connecting Ehrenberg Castle Ruins to Fort Claudia, suspended at 114 meters above the ground.
Walking this bridge promises an adrenaline rush and unparalleled panoramic views of mountains, valleys, and the charming town of Reutte. However, it's important to note that strollers or prams aren't permitted for safety reasons.
This attraction is open 365 days a year, from 8 AM to 10 PM. Conveniently, there's ample parking available at the base. You have the option to hike up or purchase tickets from Ehrenberg Liner. One downside is that only cash payments are accepted, so be prepared.
Highline179 seamlessly combines adventure and stunning vistas but remember, plan ahead if you're bringing young children and ensure you have cash on hand for ticket purchases.

Medieval castles lovers, this is the place for you.
Want to experience heights on a suspended bridge, the longest one they say, this is the place for you. And the views are typical for Austria, just stunning.
There are 3 castles here that are rich with local history, the bridge connects 2 of them.
Lots of interesting explanations as you go.
There is a coffee shop down at the info and tickets center to refresh.
Toilets are located near the coffee shop and also up near the gates of the oldest castle.
There is a playground in a medieval style for children, near the old castle, so they can wait there with an adult while the other is climbing the ruins.
We spent here 2.5 lovely hours and loved every minute here.
Slava Mironov — Google review
It is a great location, but it is not for those with height problems. The view from there is special. The ticket to go up with the funicular is more expensive than the entrance to the bridge, but you can also go up walking (about 45-50 minutes)

This bridge is incredible. A little scary at first but once you get going, it is great . You cannot beat the views. I took the gondola up for the quickest route since I was limited on time. Total cost with the gondola and bridge access was 19 Euro. Do not miss this!!

It was a lovely day out. Great view of the mountains and the castle. Highly recommend to visit 👍
Hohenschwangau Castle, a neo-Gothic summer residence of King Ludwig II, was built by his father atop 12th-century ruins left by Schwangau knights. It has a distinctly lived-in feel with ornately furnished state rooms, where every piece of furniture is an original. The palace is far less showy than Neuschwanstein and features stars painted on the ceiling of Ludwig's bedroom.
Wow! Worth a visit for everyone. Again, you can't take any pics inside but plenty of photo ops outside of the castle and the surrounding scenery. My advice is get there as early as possible, past 10am it gets ridiculously busy. Tickets are timed so it's all very orderly. You can walk up to the castle, but I'd suggest taking the bus from the car park, you can then walk off to the right and go on the bridge, it's then a 5 min walk up to the castle. There's a shop, loos and lockers for bags. There are also loos once you're into the main courtyard. As of Aug '22 you need to wear a mask inside, but they do sell them at the info desk for €2 each. After you can walk down the hill or take a horse drawn cart (€4ea) but it takes the same amount of time. Plenty of options for eating and drinking around the car park. If you walk along the road past the car park, with it on your right, you'll be treated to an amazing blue lake nestled amongst mountains. Stunning.

Beautiful castle walls and towers. There is a rich story (thanks to the amazing castle guide) on how King Ludwig designed and innovated the castle with electricity and even a lift ! Will consider this castle visit more of to accomplish a checklist if you are staying in Munich and not really a wow-must-visit attraction.

The tour was fascinating and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and sweet. It was an "audio-tour" so we were given a history of the castle and the family in English, but our tour guide was fluent in English and German. She added so many other neat tidbits and facts to really personalize the tour.
NOTE: It is limited to the queen's chambers and ladies' rooms/the king's chambers and the knights' rooms, so much of the castle is not included in the tour. The kitchen is located in the back of the gift shop and is a neat sight as well.
We booked our tickets online. If you do the same (and I suggest you do as it often sells out!) make sure you give yourself ample time to find parking and walk up to the castle. We got there 20 minutes early and were cutting it close.
The lady at the entrance to the tour was not very nice at all. She was the one negative to the whole experience.
NOTE: LOTS OF WALKING - wear your good shoes.

Great castle to visit. We had a nice guided visit with an audio guide in English and a guide to answer questions. It was interesting and didn't take too long. Our group was only composed of 4 people, us included, so it was really nice. Great view from the castle too and a quick bus ride from and to Füssen. Be sure to check the return bus schedule as they are not really frequent.

This year my husband and I decided to do castle tours in Germany. Yesterday we visited Hohenschwangau, (our 3rd castle visited in 2 days). I love the vibrant color of the exterior. It has a beautiful courtyard with a pretty fountain and landscape. Too bad it was raining which prevented us from taking some amazing photos of the castle and spending more time in the courtyard. This castle along with many others does not allow photography during the tour. King Maximilian II commissioned the construction of this castle. It has 50 rooms, rooms are small and have less decor than some of the other castles around. Overall it is a beautiful castle, overlooking the town below, and the mountains. I advised repurchasing the tour tickets ahead of time, less hassle. Guided tour comes in multiple languages. Our tour guide spoke English well.

Amazing castle - more finished inside than Neuschwanstein. You can freely walk around, up to the castle and around the courtyard however you'll need tickets to go inside with a tour. Worth the visit here if you're in Fussen.

The summer residence of the kings, the interior of the castle has been perfectly maintained since they ruled here. Each room has fantastic murals depicting fairy tale legends still original to when they were painted and not showing any aging. To get inside you need a ticket for the 30minute guided tour.

Bring a swimsuit 👙🩲 to swim in the lake after the tour! An impressive castle on the inside, and a nice exterior view especially from the lake. The forced guided tour only shows you a fraction of the castle 🏰 but it's enough to get a sense of how the knights and royalty lived here.
Alan Czajkowski — Google review
If you want to visit inside, booking in advance is a must. The tour inside is about 35 to 40 minutes, about 17 people per group. You can't take photos or anything, and you couldn't even spend enough time to appreciate the art and paintings due to they're kind of pushing to finish the tour.
The price of the ticket is rather expensive for what you will get.
For someone who doesn't have much interest in history or low budget. I would recommend Just go to look around outside the castle instead, it's very beautiful views and free.

Such an idyllic setting, it is a must see when undertaking the Romantic Drive in Bavaria, Germany. Visited in early May 23 and found it to be a fantastic attraction.
The day we got to visit was a little drizzly but it set the scene for a rather romantic time to do the tour through the castle. Our tour guide was a fun guy and added to the tour. Entry is by way of booked tickets and the whole process of visiting the castle is done quite precisely. You won't be disappointed.

Interesting castle to visit, the architecture of the castle is kind of stunning even though it is not as picturesque as its neighbour Neuschwanstein from the outside.
The tour of the interior of the castle is 30-40 minutes long and you will be able to see 8 rooms of the castle. It isn't the best castle tour, but it's kind of expected since this is a 200 years old castle with not much history.

Great place to visit for a day trip to Southern Germany.
This castle was built in the 1800s by King Maximillian II. His son Ludwig lived there as a child and built the more photogenic castle across the valley when he was older.
This particular castle is very well preserved. All of the furniture is still inside. It’s almost as if the residence simply went away for the weekend and let you come in to take a look at it!
It is still privately owned, thus they do not allow any photographs to be taken inside. My wife and I found it interesting that the queen and king each had their own separate floor of the castle, however there is a secret staircase that connects their bedrooms for conjugal visits!
Like to see the old buildings and the streets are kept clean

Not to be missed is the stunning view of the Lech River, which has played a pivotal role in the town’s history. The riverfront offers a serene escape and picturesque vistas, perfect for leisurely walks or capturing stunning photographs.
For those interested in the arts, the nearby Herkomer Museum, dedicated to the works of Hubert von Herkomer, a notable artist and native of Landsberg, is a must-visit. The museum showcases an impressive collection that highlights the town’s artistic legacy.
In conclusion, Marienbrunnen is not just a fountain; it’s a gateway to discovering the enchanting town of Landsberg am Lech. Its historical significance, coupled with the town’s rich tapestry of art, architecture, and natural beauty, makes it an essential stop for any traveler looking to experience the essence of a Bavarian gem. A visit here promises to be a delightful journey through time and culture.

Hubert-von-Herkomer-Straße 118, 86899 Landsberg am Lech, Germany
UNESCO world heritage Park that is top notch in size, beauty and features. It's free, never locked and has the most flowers, herbs, trees and walking trails imaginable.
Kneipp baths (multiple leg stations, arm stations for adults, kids and disabled people), educational herb garden with smell stations, frog pond, huge bird aviaries, fountains, lakes with duck islands, exercise and mobility stations ("the five Esslingers"), agility and balancing trails, barefoot trails, labyrinth, mud station to walk through and so much more. All based on Kneipp's natural healing therapies.
You can't ever see it all, but you can try...

Amazing location if you are looking for for a calm therapeutic nature walk. There are trailed walks pathways where you can walk barefoot and experience different senses. Though I have visited here before but yesterday the rose garden was not well maintained, I think this years constant rain was not good. Highly recommended as well if you are coming here with elderly parents

Amazing park to visit in the middle of the forest. Beautiful rose garden and lovely lake.
A bit disappointed as they don't keep the very famous umbrellas for longer time in the summer. Would be nicer if they stay there for the full summer time. Free parking for 2h. And Toilet facilities. There could be more take away coffee places and refreshments.

Great destination for a calm therapeutic nature walk. One gets both peaceful and meditative encounter. The area is touristic also.
I like the spacing and varieties of things to explore. It makes one appreciate the things we often take for granted. It's inspirational the history of the place and those that made it really happen. Fully recommend and worth your time if you're anywhere close to Bavaria.

A beautiful and perfectly landscaped garden, with a herb and medicinal plants section, rose garden, a bird sanctuary, forest walk ways, Kneipp route and much more. Although we have visited the park in Autumn, we can imagine how it looks in the Spring and Summer periods. A definite must to visit if you are here. Plenty of seating available.

The barefoot trail is a lot of fun for the whole family. My only complaint is that some sections could be better marked since the paved road interrupts the trail. The trail is pretty rough on your feet but it is worth it for the experience. Some of the stations along the trail are mud pits, balance bridges, and various walking textures. Parking is a little difficult especially on weekends when the weather is nice. There are also limited lockers on site to store shoes. They require a 1 or 2 euro coin that is returned at the end of use.
Suspension bridge high over the Höhenbach River, illuminated at night, with mountain trails nearby.
One of the most beautiful places in Lechtal. I just recommend visiting this place, quite an easy path up to the bridge and then heading back to Holzgau via the waterfall. It will take a little over an hour (really easy walk) and you will have beautiful views of nature.

This is an excellent park to visit if you all about the rides!
The rides are great.
Including some that I had never seen before in other parks.
Many of the rides are not for kids under 1.40cm and they are worth it!
We visited the park middle of the week. Off season and with some small rain. And we had the feeling that we have the whole park to ourselves!!
Stuff is friendly and all rides are operational even if you are the only one there!!
It has less of the fairytale park but for hardcode riders!!!
Loved it!

Compact Amusement Park, with nice attractions and good food stands.
The attractions are mainly focused on younger visitors 8-16, with some attractions clearly made for more adrenaline seeking grown ups.
You should better buy the tickets in advance or it's possible that you will have to wait quite a long time to get in.

Nice choice of rollercoasters, roundabouts, and other rides. Plenty of opportunities to dine, quite some at reasonable prices.
The experience very much depends on the length of the waiting queues and thus on the number of people visiting the park.
We went on a Friday in August, where many Bavarians are on vacation, so it was great.
Kids with a birthday +- 5 days of the visit are free. Reduced fees for all under 1.50m.
Most really heavy rides are free from 1.50m and 14 years of age.

33 EUR entrance for one adult for the complete day. Almost everything is for free and food is cheap (5 EUR for a decent cheese burger, 6 EUR for a pizza). You should bring lots of water and a small backpack; there is always a place to leave it)

It is a very nice and clean park 👍🏻 with rides u and your kids will have fun with but I do recommend to add a game called laser gun ride and increase the staff number.
Although the park is not small, u can still finish it within one whole day.
The potato fires and the crepe are yummy😋

There isn't any Rollercoaster that goes upside down, and the Rollercoasters that do exist need better "seat belts" as they currently make your head wiggle around, which I see it dangerous for our neck.

If you want to use the train you have to walk 10-15 minutes from the station Rammingen bay to arrive the parking space and from there enter the park. If you are alone walking through empty fields might feel a bit uneasy. At least for me as a solo visitor arriving there early Sunday. You are provided with a useful map at the ticket booth. Adrenaline seekers should pick red-marked-equipments. There are beautiful sites for nature lovers as well. You need at least 5-6 hours to walk around and stay in line for your favourite games. The price and distance worth the adventure.

One of the best Amusement Park within Bavaria, they have lot of space for Car parking.
You can reach by rail : Munich to Buchloe from there you need to change the train for Raimmingen (bay) 2 stop from Buchloe.
Entire journey is of 50 minutes. And from Raimmingen station you need to walk for 1.5 km to reach entrance of Skyline Park.
You can get entry easly without reservations ( i went on Saturday ) cost for adult is 40 euro, i went with combined ticket which cost 120 euro for 2 adults and 2 kids
TIPS: If you see any ride is having long queue do not wait go for different rides try to cover those ride after 3 or 4 pm, you will see very less crowd. You should reach at 10 am as they will close it sharp at 6 pm, this way you can enjoy the rides.
You have lots of things to do for kids, my kid enjoyed a lot and wish to come again.
Inside food court will get close by 6 pm but near the entrance you will have food ( ice cream , popcorn) shop open till 7 or 7:30 pm.
Take ample amount of water with you. You can bring your own food and they also have lot of food court.
We enjoyed a lot i hope you will also.

The journey up and down went smoothly without any waiting times. Thanks to the spa cards, both trips were free.
Short-term tickets are available online or in advance there.
The occupancy rate can even be viewed on the online site. Once you reach the top, there are many hiking routes available. The climb to the Iseler or the descent down into the valley with a stopover at the alpine hut is definitely worth it.
We went with two children and the staff on site were very helpful and friendly.

(Translated by Google) The cable car (6-person lift) is great. The Alpe at the top is great. Great starting point for high alpine hikes.
The only drawback is that there is a sign opposite the valley station that says there is a lift parking lot. If you park there, you will get a parking ticket, for whatever reason.
For this reason alone, we won't be coming back. For me it's misleading and a rip-off. A folded sign makes it difficult to see where it belongs.
My lawyer will probably get work there.

What a great place to visit. Don't forget the Cafe and museum.
Thrilling Alpine roller coaster twisting & zigzagging down a forested mountainside.
A bit of wait if you come on a weekend in the afternoon, so be prepared. They have good playground facilities for children and some place to eat and drink so the wait is not so tortuous.
The coaster itself if absolutely worth the wait tho. It's super long (over 5 min, we timed it), and can get quite fast. Great views ofc. Highly recommend.
Joanna Ji — Google review
This is a tourist trap, we were passing by in the afternoon in high season, I just saw the coaster and thought that would be a cool thing to do for a quick stop... Well, in this place it seems there are no such things as a >quick< stop! We bought the tickets which I already thought were a bit expensive for a coaster, but once we arrived at the top we saw that there were at least 100, maybe even a 150 people waiting in line! We queued up for just 5 minutes but the line didn't even move, so I was looking at the frequency that they were sending off the carts and estimated that we would have to wait at least an hour, maybe 2 for it to be our turn... So we took the lift back down again, what a waste of money! We were never informed about the crazy waiting times at the ticket office... At least the view was okay.

Nice place for trekking or can go up hill by cable car.. On the top, there are zip lining activities.. You can come down by Rollercoaster.

Bergwelt is a fun place to take the whole family. There's a huge playground for the little kids, and an alpine sled ride as well as zip lines for bigger kids (and parents). You can get food and drinks at a few different locations (one much higher up the mountain, requiring a hike), and the views are gorgeous all around. Truly gorgeous.
You can hike up from road level, if you like (and have the extra hour+), or you can take a scenic ski chair lift ride up, which is what we did.
After you are all done, you can walk down and get some really great ice cream at the bottom. The "honey melon" gelato was to die for, and totally changed my view on fruit flavored gelatos. The chocolate was great, too. Yum.
We spent an excellent day here, and I really hope to get back next time we visit the Allgäu.

A fun complex of several different recreational activities.
A chair lift up to the main activity center opens up to a large plateau where we could grab a bite to eat from the restaurant. We enjoyed our desserts while listening to a great traditional band.
There were plenty of chairs for hikers to sun themselves and rest.
There was a huge children’s play area, near the zip line.
We took the Rodelbahn down. It was a blast!

The playground on the top worth it if you have young kids. There are goats to feed, many different parts of playground and very cool slides for the kids (done on a sack) and the the slide downhill os the best! So long 😀
The kids had their best day in the vacation there.

Really amazing summer sledding coaster! Take the open lift from the parking lot from 9am but definitely before 10am to get the first rides. In the summer queuing of 45 min after 11am is likely. FAST! You can go the whole trip without braking but only when there are not a lot of people as it is really fast and steep like a roller coaster!
Tomas Renner — Google review
The real highlight of this place is the ropes park, which is really good, and it also has a part for smaller kids so all of our family had a blast there. The alpine coaster is also pretty good. But the playground is kind of a ripoff. 7.5 euro for kids and 5.5 euro for their parents? That is a crazy price for a playground. Which is nice, but definitely not worth the money. I'd go immediately to the rope park and go down the alpine coaster without even giving the playground a look.
Arthur Kiyanovski — Google review
We can either hike up or take a lift ride to the sledge starting point and come back down with the sledge. It takes 5-10 minutes to sledge down with almost 3,000 meters long trail depending on how fast we ride it. The waiting time is up to 1 hour when it's a busy day.

Great place for whole family. Waiting time usually not more than 15 minutes (Monday beginning of July).
Ticket price ok for adults and kids over the height limit, but far too expensive for smaller kids who are not allowed to most attractions, but still pay full price.
Food ok, the best one we found is the City restaurant with nice buffet.

All of the displays were amazing, but the lines for rides were just too long. I highly recommend visiting during a week day instead of the weekend. Our toddler didn't handle the hour plus long waits for rides, so we spent most of our time walking around and checking out the different displays.

Mostly industrial food of low to average quality. It's tapas like, so that everyone finds something matching their taste. There's more than enough, especially if you bring kids since the portions are the same for all.
The steak is reconstructed. The chicken was quite tasty (that was the best of the meal in my opinion).
The servers were really nice. The room is extremely noisy.

We went to Legoland during the Easter holiday. The amusement park is beautiful and well-organized. However, if you don't buy the fast track tickets, you'll have to wait a long time to play the games. Very nice experience if you or even better your kid is a Lego fan. I imagine the experience for kids is really amazing. On the other hand, the park does lack rides that would be suitable for older visitors.

Amusement park for kids all ages starting from 5 or 6 years old. 2 days 2 night is perfect compromise to enjoy and have some rest however the park is not extremely huge so if not so many people best attractions can be tried in a shorter time...about the cost I wouldn't say that park, overnight, food is cheap but surely everything around including toilets are very clean

Legoland is the top attraction in case you have kids. Few tips & tricks to plan your visit well:
- if you can, plan your visit during work days, avoid weekends and public holidays. Even on Monday there were many people.
- Online tickets available only, please take care to buy it in advance. Parking ticket might be purchased online as well
- install app for queues monitoring, attractions planning, navigation
- note all rides closes 1 hr before park closing. And yes, Sealife aquarium also categorized as ride 😁Kids loved it! Diverse settings with fun rides and playgrounds. Main dining area best value to eat, especially, pizza. Take water since expensive to purchase on site. Get there early with a plan as to priorities in rides since some have longer wait times as the day progresses. I suspect summer months will have this park very crt due to its size (small).LegolandWe came here to meet friends who have older kids. I thought my one year old wouldn’t really get much from it. I was wrong! We all had a lot of fun! The duplo area is just perfect for the little ones and he absolutely loved it there! The food at the restaurant was also really good and the changing rooms are super well equipped. We’ll come back!

A great theme park with lots of activities for kids in all ages. Most of the rides are suitable for kids 6 and older, but even the older ones can find lots of fun activities. You’ll find roller coasters, water activities, 3D, maze, tea cups, food and drinks.
Don’t miss the Lego mini cities- quite remarkable!

Make sure to download the app for navigation through the park and queue times.

Basically very nice especially for smaller children. The problem is however that the park is overcrowded. During a seven hour visit you'll make maybe 30% of what you've planned. Example - savana ride. Waiting for 20 minutes for 2 minutes ride. Waiting for food is more than half an hour.

Had a great time there with my kid and husband, spent 1 day there and we would have needed more time. We bought the tickets in advance, about 2 months before the day.
The child was able to enjoy all the attractions even though he is around 120 cm tall (for some was mandatory to have an adult with him).
All the attractions were closed at 5pm.
The food is not that good, just junk food.

If you have kid who loves Lego or not, this place is a must visit!! It’s a proper 2 days holiday to cover all the rides (may not be enough for some). Please note all rides have height restrictions- minimum requirement varies from 100 to 130cm. Those fun and fast rides require 110cm as minimum. So check the website for the minimum height requirements for individual rides. And this is strictly followed due to safety and security reasons. My personal recommendation is wait until your kid is min 120cm :)
We visited here March last week 2024 just before the Easter holidays. It was for 2 nights and booked a family room in Kings Castle. We got lucky weather was amazing!!
We didn’t have our own car so, we visited here using public transportation end to end. Günzburg is the nearest train station. There’s direct buses from station to legoland park then to holiday village (hotel, villas etc). Time table completely varies, it’s either every 30min or 1hr interval (maybe 2hr during the lunch hour). This is applicable in either direction.
Here’s how we managed our travel- we reached Günzburg by train around 11:00 and there was bus. We reached there and did complete our check in process just at the entrance. And you can drop your luggage at the check in counter. They delivered directly to the reception building at the holiday village. This made whole process easier. We directly entered the park and enjoyed our rides until 5:30pm and directly headed to holiday village. This was about 10-15min walk. We found out where the reception building was and collected our luggage and brought it ourselves to kings castle where my room was booked. Breakfast was amazing at this hotel.
There are dinner buffet was available within the village and we had reservations done whilst booking rooms. We booked Pirate and duschland, first was fantastic and other one was ok-ok sorts.
After checking out, we returned to Günzburg train stations there are bus services 30min to 1hr intervals until 12:22pm, then it starts from 14:00ish again. (During the winter there are limited options, it appears that typically from March mid frequency gets increased).
LEGO Land park is baby stroller/pram friendly.

We had an amazing day out at Legoland Germany. We stayed locally, the night before and spent the entire day there. We went mid October Monday, so crowds were small. It’s was epic. Could have easily filled in 2 days, but had to keep moving. The kids 13 & 8 loved it. Roller coasters were appreciated by both the kids and adults. As an adult, I’d have to say, way cooler than I expected. Way cooler.

LEGO land in Gunzburg is one of the best playtime for kids. You need 1 full day to cover this park.
I have been just 1 week before Halloween and it was best experience for my daughter.
Ticket prices are variable and better to book early. Also I suggest to book online instead waiting in Q.
If your kids 3 above and looking for safe rides, then this is the first choice.

We booked a 3-night stay 20 days ago, the price was 330EUR for a campervan place to park and 2 day tickets for 5 people. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, the holiday Village was rather full. The facilities were clean, there was also a special cleaning machine for chemical toilet. Just be careful, some people use drinking water to clean their toilet. Yuck. It took about 7 minutes to walk to Legoland through a small wood. In the morning they open at 9.45, the rides start at 10 a.m. The waiting times differ a big deal- we waited 30 minutes for the top rides, 5 minutes for others. When it started to rain on Tuesday, there were absolutely no waiting times and the kids enjoyed Maximus ride 5times in a row. If it rains and you have a raincoat, you are in for a lot of fun. Just a note - there are definitely not enough places to hide from rain. If it rains and you want to sit for a while, no chance... just 2 pizza places which are permanently full. The food was nothing special - fast food schnitzel rather bad (10 eur) chips good (6eur), waffles very good (6eur), pizza okay(10eur), popcorn good(5,50eur). Alltgether the kids were over the moon, a place to go.

Awesome!! I highly recomand to buy tickets in advance!! My 4y and 6y were super excited. Even if we were in winter season and many attractions were closed, we barely had enough time to explore 80% of the park in ~6h

It’s a great park if you’re a Lego fan although somehow it feels older than it is (20 years old). Rides and attractions are ok although without much capacity, meaning you need to queue a fair bunch for very short rides (2-3mins). I can’t imagine that ratio during the high-season… Most of the staff was ok and average rude, not many English speakers. Plenty of shopping opportunities. We had a great family time but it’s unlikely that we will make the trip again.
Interactive toy museum including a stuffed toy hunt & 'petting zoo', workshop & huge slide.
Very interesting experience, highly recommend when you come to Giengen

Overall a good experience for us. Initial some minutes there is an audio-visual experience. It's very nice.
I went on a Saturday. Museum Tickets you can buy from the entrance.
Car parking was free.
Museum floors are accessible with wheelchairs and strollers.
You can keep your belongings in the locker facility around the entrance. Kindly bring 1 Euro coin for availing the locker facility.
Toilets available near the locker.
Nearly 2 Hours we can easily spend here ..
I cannot give 5 stars in Google map ratings since ticket prices are a little high (12 E Per adult ). If the museum is big then I wouldn't mind giving 12 E.

Only most enjoyable place to visit at Gingen and spend time. Coming 29th June to 1st July 2018 they organise family festival for people to celebrate.

We visited the place many times in the past. Very nice for the kids. The story and the little tour lovely. However this time was disappointing. There is nobody in the laboratory to show the Teddy bears fabrication, the submarine in the middle is gone, there is no possibility anymore for a birthday party and not a place where the kids can eat some food, unless you want yo pay to eat at the café. After one hour is all done. The suspended toys are very dusty. The ticket price is high for the offer, kids 6 years old 8 euro.

The tour is available in De, EN and surprising Japanese.

This place is a must for parents and grandparents if you travel on the A7 or A8. Short exit and you made your kids so happy. The museum is a must. Animals in different sizes even for the biggest daddy's and mum's. We went with our 18 month old and this was so nice for him. Have a look at the outlet before you buy anything in the store next to the museum. You can get a good deal there. Will definitely go back.

The Ulmer Rathaus is a remarkable Renaissance-era town hall in Ulm that boasts stunning exterior frescoes and an impressive astronomical clock. This landmark building's unique architecture and antique charm make it a must-see destination for visitors to the city. It houses the mayor's office, adorned with beautiful paintings, and is considered the best building within 100 meters of it, excluding the Munster. Its gorgeous ancient design and cultural significance add to its appeal as one of Ulm's top attractions.
Very special building with colorful paintings and details. Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past.Especially the huge and complex astronomical clock is worth the visit.

No visitor misses the 3 most important hotspots of Ulm - the Münster, the "Schiefe Haus" and the very special "Rathaus" with its colorful paintings and details. Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past - if you have the time, join one of the guided tours. The active townhall interior is nice, but renovated - the storytelling outside and especially the huge and complex astronomical clock is worth the visit on the way down to the Danube or Fischerviertel.

The Ulmer Münster is a Lutheran church built in Gothic style, located in the heart of Ulm City. It boasts the world's tallest steeple at 161.53 meters high and features an impressive carved choir. The church is considered a must-visit landmark in Germany, offering visitors a glimpse into the Middle Ages with its lovely Gothic architecture.
Pictures from February, 2022.
The best experience and also the most challenging is to climb the stairs to reach the viewing platform at the top of the cathedral. Narrow staircases, straight upward climbing is quite exhausting. But really worth of giving it a try. Also the view from the top is really fantastic, a mesmerizing birdeye view of Ulm.

The Ulm Minster⛪ is wonderful, when you enter it you dive into another world🌍
The Münster⛪ is a church built in the Gothic style. It is the largest evangelical church in Germany. The 161.53 meter high tower completed in 1890 is the highest church tower in the world🌍. As it is a must visit if you are in Germany.

If you are ever in Ulm, or passing by with a few hours for your next train connection, and if you like Gothic style buildings, you need to see this very interesting church building.
If you like taking bird’s eye views, this place will interest you, but be aware, there are many steps to climb up if you want to take great pictures of the town from above. Likewise, it will take you time to get back down.
The inside of the building is also marvellous with great designs and centuries old architecture.
This place is close walking distance from the Ulm Hbf train station and I would recommend a tour visit and if you can, go up to the maximum point where you can take unobstructed photos.

With the tallest church tower in the world, Ulm Minster is, of course, the city's most dominant building. And the Münsterplatz square on which it stands is an endlessly fascinating place that offers a great mix of history and pioneering architecture. But there is more to Ulm than this. Magnificent cathedral! The gothic aspiration up to the sky is impressive. Stone lace, sculptures, ancient frescoes, paintings are simply magnificent. But the greatest impression is made by going up to the observation deck of the highest bell tower in Europe. The price is not big, 5 euros. But while you climb to the top, you will curse yourself for your blissful curiosity!😄Descent from the bell tower is another adventure!

Be carefully at the moment you can reach only the first level of the tower, and for 7 euros, quite expensive.
View is quite nice, but not a lot to see once you reached the "top".

The Gothic-style ancient cathedral boasts a spectacular interior with soaring ceilings and intricate sculptures. Sunlight streaming through the large stained glass windows of the nave bathes the entire space in beautiful hues, creating a serene ambiance. When the bells chime, a tranquil stillness envelops the surroundings, offering a moment of spiritual clarity.
Climbing the high tower is an option, and if you have the stamina, reaching the top provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding city. Currently undergoing maintenance, access to the tower is limited, but once the restoration is complete, I look forward to returning to this place to embrace life anew.
Every year, the mayor comes out to promise to his people various stuff.
I never believe his words and probably never will, because he is telling truth only 80% of the time, but the building still looks cool!

Vintage caravans, motorhomes & cars line this contemporary mobile home museum, plus a restaurant.
It is an amazing experience in a place where one can find a lot of information about the history of caravans and campers in Germany and even more. There you can see the newest Hymer camper that is very impressive. The exhibits are interesting and enchanting. You can get an iPod with explanations in English. What a fantastic place. First as we are in a Mobile Home we could stay on site overnight.
We went into the museum when it opened at 10am, the gentleman on the counter spoke english and showed us how to download the app so we could check out all the displays in English.
Once inside ‘wow’ amazing displays and set ups, showing the history of caravanning and motorhoming.
So glad we made the effort to see this museum.
For those with children there are also areas to keep children occupied and I can imagine for hours.

It was a good place for train n miniature lovers!! I was quite excited to have a close look into the large miniature (working model expo), but that is still under construction and we could not enter in there. That was a much disappointing part. With that I felt 10€ entry fee to the museum(only the history and the models displayed inside locked glass shelves) was not so worthy. You can see the small miniature in the store without paying any entry fee.

Some tips:
-If you come here on a Saturday or Sunday try to get here before 1100 because If you come later than you will most likely be roaming around to trying to find a parking spot
-Bring euro coins for the parking ( I paid five euro for parking the max time). You can also use a few different parking apps but cell signal is hit or miss out there
-Bring waterproof hiking shoes or just get ready to get your shoes wet if you go up the stairs
-Use the restrooms by the parking lots before you stay because there are no restrooms after the parking lot so be prepared for that.
It’s super crowded from the parking lot to the waterfall but afterwards it’s pleasant. other than that, the hike paths are very well marked and it was enjoyable

I am only wishing for direction in English on the maps in the valley so it would be easier to find what are you looking for. But you can still make it without a problem. I will definitely try to come back in here🙌🏼

If you come here you should come with time, the place is huge, is it a small town where the store are all around the downtown.
Here you will find all super luxury brands and well known brands. There is everything not only clothes, there is food, home appliances, I think even cars could be find here.
Take a look at the web site for more information about specific brands.
If it happens to be in a special day like Black Friday you should go because the deals are really really good.

Great place to shop discounted deals which are hard to beat ;)
Free wifi in the whole city is nice. I also found a free drinking water station which is great, just search for 'Deed.rocks trinkautomat' on Google :)

You feel wow! Best place to get the branded items with the best price. We went to get the winter jackets. There are many shops here for shopping, so it is sure that you will get the item what you are looking for with the best price. We got a very nice jackets for winter. Also there are sitting area and kids play area, so even if you are tired after walking all the way, you may sit and relax. Also if kids are with you, you can send them to the play area for their relaxation 😌

Love this place but we missed this time the best discount time. I think it was maybe on january and now the best time comes at may and july/august. We have been there when it’s 50-70% off 😭🥹🥰 This time on the beginning of the march it was all new stuff and petty sale shelve. But it doesnt mean there werent any people. It was super crowdy. Also I love that healthy place for food if your kids doesnt love this then also can get kids pizza 7,90€. Big plate for adults where 13,90, smaller 8,90 and little bowl 4,90.

Review: One of the best outlet cities in Europe. You can make great bargains and
Hint: Make sure to visit the outlet centre from Mondays to Thursdays. It's not crowded and you have a greater choice than on weekends.
Stores: There are high-end brands ( Gucci, Prada, Borrega Venetta) as well as other brands (Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger). Since the outlet city keeps growing, you should check the labels and map beforehand.
Price: Deondent on the shops you can really find great bargains here.
Parking: You can park your car in on of the parking lots for 1€ per hour roughly.

The ultimate shopping experience for the whole family, great collection of high-end brands with outlets from the latest collections. Awesome services.
✅️ plenty of parking areas
🍔 wide selection of fast food chains with family dining areas.

It’s a a big zone with fashion outlet shops but the connections are not done in a perfect way so to trash from zone to the other sometimes you need to walk in between residential houses and after two rounds you get tired, as first impression was not so wow and shopping prices did not surprise me too
Ruzanna Konjoryan — Google review
Big choice of famous brand stores, mostly luxurious. Prices are about 20- 30% lower then in regular stores. Spicious and clean, parking garages available on few central locations.

A trip to the Metzingen Outlet is certainly convenient if you have access to a car. It's worth noting that downloading the Outlet City app provides a one-hour free parking benefit, making the arrival process smoother. The outlet itself offers a wide range of brand-name stores, making it a shopping destination. Whether you're a shopper or just browsing, the Metzingen Outlet has something for you.

You need one whole day to visit all.
Looking like a city and you may find with your budget.
Hint, no need to park outside of the city with a big banner of 1hour 1 euro. As the parking in the city is 1 euro and 50 cents.
From my point of view park in the city so you can place your shopping in your car and no need to drag them with you

Outlet city is unique in a way.. A must visit for shopaholic people.. World's best brands are here. showrooms are spread across town..
A lot of parking spaces as well. P7 is a free parking lot, you can walk for 5mins from P7 to reach city. Restaurants, Pubs.. You will have all here..

Nice outlet city with many many brands. Good deals available. You might get discounts of 30-40% based on time of visit and brand. Various places to eat are also available.

The biggest outlet which I visited ! It is very good organized, very clean, and there is huge collection of famous shops. We found a very good discounts !!!
Nikola Banozic — Google review
Not a bad experience overall. The outlet have a lot of brands and the discounts are actually not bad. What I realize about this outletcity is that they give more space for the more high-end brands like Gucci, Armani, etc. The stores are separated by roads in the middle of it so it maybe quite confusing when wanting to find specific stores as it is not all beside each other, but there are directions which you can just follow.
I bought a winter jacket that was supposed to be around 200€ usually but got it for 114€.
This historic castle with a courtyard garden is a popular place for sweeping views of Esslingen.
There are around N number of stairs before you reach the top! But its all worth it!!! It is so magical up there, that your feet no longer hurts and your breathe just gets better! A place worth visiting!

Didn’t even realise that this was the castle when we were there. But definitely go up the long flight of stairs on the city wall - the views over the city and vineyards are breathtaking! We happened upon this stairway by chance. We were in Esslingen over December and it had snowed, so everything was dusted in snow. We spent a good afternoon exploring this area! This whole town is just magical - with its cobblestone streets, gorgeous gingerbread style houses and stunning views. It’s well worth stopping in Esslingen for a day to explore! And don’t forget the Christmas markets!

Beautiful place with astonishing view. If you do not want to walk take the bus 110 to Esslinger Burg. Then return to the city center descending these long stairs. Totally worth it!

This castle is easy to get to and worth visiting. There are at least three ways to get up to it. I love the steps up through the walls, the vineyards and the views.

Absolutely lovely place! Eye catching view over the city, charming atmosphere. A place worth visiting every time you are in Esslingen. The staircase is cozy, and you should definitely go for it! It isn't that hard as it looks like! There is a good restaurant up there. You can just visit the courtyard to calm down as there is large free valley. The toilets were locked when we visited, worth to note that we were late at night up there, so that could've been problem. 10/10

Only had a few hours to visit Esslinger, and luckily found this amazing spot to explore. The hike up the cobblestone trail is a bit steep, but manageable and beautiful. There is also stairs, although we did the trail up, and stairs down which worked out well.

Great place to visit, but there are a lot of stairs so we could not enter since we had a stroller with us. The gardens are really beautiful and the view is very nice. Highly recommended for those that have no problem going up and down the stairs.

A must-see place when you visit Esslingen am Neckar. From Esslingen Hbf, you can take Bus 110 and drop by Esslingen (N) Burg bus stop. A 10-minute walk leads you to this place. Alternatively, you can take any buses from the Esslingen Hbf that pass by Berliner Straße and drop by Esslingen (N) Marktplatz stop. From there, you can take the several steep steps leading up the hill to reach the castle. A more physically challenging route, but definitely worth it. Up there, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the city of Esslingen below.
Esslingen Market Square is a charming open-air marketplace located just 15 minutes from Stuttgart by local train. The square hosts a medieval market with merchants wearing traditional clothing and demonstrating medieval crafts like glassblowing. Visitors can enjoy artists, music, food, and holiday events. The Christmas Market is particularly enchanting with detailed decorations and people dressed in beautiful medieval costumes, creating a unique atmosphere that transports you back in time.
I was here for the Christmas Market and it îs a beautiful medieval market with very good vibe and food. The only suggestion is to go durring the day cause at night it is overcrowded and the lights are not worth it.Awesome place, much nicer than the Stuttgart one.

Very nice as always, lots of people around the weekend..
So we went middle week..
I think it's due to the rent prices, that everything is so expensive, really really expensive..
A water and a fanta 7 euros..
Water is the same price as soft drinks..
It is really a robbery and they are allowed..nobody controls or does anything about it..
A little kartoffel chips bag, 4 euros..for just.....
Its is really really bad..
Would advise take your own drinks..
Marktplatz, also known as the market square, is a picturesque and historic square located in Tubingen. At its center stands the 15th century Town Hall, featuring an intricately painted facade and a functioning astronomical clock. The square is surrounded by antique buildings and is home to small cafes and restaurants where visitors can enjoy good food, cocktails, and coffee.
Amazing plaza with local good and outstanding architecture!

It's a beautiful square surrounded by antique buildings. On and off, there are events such as the Christmas market or currently the "Chocolart", a chocolate themed market.

Fantastic square with the city hall at its center. The building was started in 1435 and extended over the years. Today you can find a fully preserved medieval square without any damages from WWII. It is a bustling square with many cafés and restaurants.

Tübingen Marktplatz is a historic market square with small cafés and restaurants surrounding it. One can enjoy good food, cocktails, and nice coffee there, but not all the places are open yet. If you stay until late though, it can get pretty rowdy sometimes with drunken frat boys staggering around, yelling and trying to impress each other. Not far from the market place is the house where the famous psychiatrist Alois Alzheimer lived as a student, with a plaque affixed to the wall proclaiming the fact. The car park at Nonnenhaus is the best place to park when going there.
Castle Hohentübingen, originally constructed in the 11th century and expanded in the 16th century, boasts a captivating blend of medieval and modern architecture. Situated on a hill, it offers stunning views of Tubingen's Old Town and the Neckar River. Today, it is home to various departments of Tubingen University and features a museum showcasing ancient cultures. The museum exhibits remarkable artifacts such as mammoth tusk figurines, some of the oldest artworks ever discovered.

Sophisticated hotel offering free breakfast, parking & Wi-Fi, plus regional dining & a spa.
We loved our stay at Hotel Kloster Hirsau! Victoria, who checked us in, was so friendly and helpful. We loved our room. We noticed in one review it said the rooms needed updating. We totally disagree! Our room was perfectly clean, and the older style, we feel, kept with the antiquity of the little town. It felt like we had stepped back in time, but the beds were obviously newer, as were the bathrooms. So it was new where you would want it to be, but with the older style, which we thought was perfect!
It is in a good location, close to the main town square, but we did drive most places.
We did have the breakfast buffet one morning, and it was a decent buffet with both hot and cold items and different breads.
If we ever get back to Calw, we will stay here!

Compared to other establishments in the surrounding area moderately expensive for drinks. But the nice ambiance and friendly staff make well up for this. Would not recommend for single drinks, but for a good meal this is definitely the place.

Empfang was bad. They put 2 persons in the smallest available room (number 115! Please reject it). Later they upgraded is to a normal room. But still, hospitality was bad. Not what you can excpat for a fullprice fare.
Hotel itself is a bit outdated, eighties. No aircon, its well maintained and clean. But could do some upgrading.

We went for a Saturday to Sunday mini trip. Unfortunately, Hotel Hirsau was not suitable. We arrived after 8pm and just made it to the restaurant who were already in a hurry to close. We wanted to use the pool/sauna but couldn't. In the evening on Saturday they were already closed and then we were told that hotel services are not offered after checkout at 11am on Sunday plus the sauna is not on until 2pm. So that didn't work either. This made it impossible for us to use the facilities :-( If you like a relaxed weekend morning, you also won't make it to the breakfast which closes at 10am. This timetable of this hotel is for business but not suited for a leisure weekend visit.
