Barrage de Malpasset is a historical landmark that stands as an impressive testament to the power of nature. The concrete arch dam ruptured in 1959, leading to a catastrophic flood that claimed many lives. The site features massive concrete blocks with reinforced steel beams scattered across the valley. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the dam on foot from the parking lot, and another 10 minutes to continue along the trail towards the lake.
Beautiful surreal landscape and ruins given the tragedy of 1959, well worth a visit, free car park, not many humans there on a Monday morning even though extremely hot

Impressive landmark which shows the sheer power of the water when the dam burst in 1959. Massive concrete blocks with reinforced steel beams are shattered across the valley. From the parking lot it will take you about 20 minutes to reach the dam (walking) and another 10 to continue the trail towards the lake. Don't forget to bring some water, there is not a lot of shade around the trail and summer temperatures can be high.

Really easy experience with this company getting to and from St Tropez. The staff was pleasant, and the process was fairly easy. I also appreciated how responsive the team was via electronic communication with my questions. A one way (as I was staying two nights) is a bit more complicated as you can only reserve the one way there. You must buy the second one way on the boat on the way back. I think there is a way to allow for this all at the time of initial reservation personally.
Of note, the drop off in St Tropez is at the newer port, not the old one, which is a SLIGHTLY farther walk for those with luggage.

Luna Park Frejus is an amusement park that offers a variety of exciting rides, carnival games, and activities for visitors of all ages. In addition to thrill rides like the red rollercoaster and water activities, there are also plenty of options for younger children to enjoy. While parking may not be the best, overall it's a nice park worth visiting. Reviews indicate that prices can be high but with discounts available it's still considered highly recommended.
Nice park, with a lot of different attractions, for children as well for adults. We enjoyed it. The attraction cost is from 5 to 7€ for a ride per person, only the Skyrider is 30€ for a ride/person.
I really liked the magic mountain rollercoaster. I bought several tickets.
It was not crowded like in other amusement parks. we were there around 22.30.
The food was really good, I ate a kebab.
Car parking and entrance are free.

We have been a couple of times now and the place has a great atmosphere! My only fault is that the rides and some of the games are really quite expensive, especially when you're on a budget of about €10-20 each. Would recommend is money isn't a problem!

Free entry, which is super lovely because it makes it as expensive/as affordable as you want it to be! They check your bags on the way in to make sure you aren't taking in anything prohibited. There are a huge range of different rides aimed at different age ranges, from young children to adults. One of my favourite parts of Luna Park was the food! They had a number of ice cream/slushie/bubble tea stalls, with one of the biggest varieties of flavours I've ever seen! The fairground games are all fairly typical, but it creates a really fun and exciting atmosphere to walk around. There is seating around the edges of the park where you can sit down for free, which I thought was fantastic. Overall I'd definitely, definitely recommend Luna Park for an evening out if you're in Frejus!

We loved this that we went consecutive nights. Well there was a downpour the first night so we had to go home after an hour. Kids wanted to go back the next night. We had the discount card and knew from reviews that it was going to be expensive but definitely worth a visit. We did about 10 of the activities in total. No queues when we were there 9pm on a Monday in July. The red rollercoaster was great and the water activities were super (you get wet). Plenty for our kids who are u8 to do. Highly recommended
Donncha Hughes — Google review
A large amount of rides with something for everyone. Most rides are around €5 each but are discounted if you have one of the cards that are available in most local supermarkets. You will need to take cash as none of the rides take cards and there are no ATMs on site.

Loisirs Amusements Luna Park, Route Nationale 98, 83600 Fréjus, France
Aqualand Fréjus is a massive aquatic amusement park that offers an array of thrilling slides and chutes suitable for families. Visitors are advised not to purchase tickets online as the queues are three times longer. It's best to arrive at the park's opening time, and when purchasing food, visitors should know that cash payments are not accepted. Instead, they must load money onto special design bracelets or pay with a card at reception.
Just come back from the aqualand - main point is to Not buy online ticket as the queue its 3 times longer, 2nd to arrive exactly on open times, and third when buying a food best to know is that you cannot pay cash - you have to go to reception and add cash into a special design bracelets ( or you could pay with card).
Overall we enjoyed the time there - plenty of slides, 2 big splash areas for little ones .. will definitely come back again !
Renata Nikolova — Google review
Been to a few water parks in Europe now. I'd almost describe it as an airport waterpark, charges well for everything and leaves you wondering how you ended up there.
More shade for the cars than the people. There is only 1 really fast moving slide, everything else is 60min plus (cobra and the one beside it, maybe two hours), unless you have fast pass, which for a family of 5 would bring the bill to 250. From 11.00 to 13.10 we managed one slide and an abandoned queue. Maybe that's now European norm, but no, not a great experience. My kids generally love the parks and it's a chore to get them to leave but all wanted to get home by 14.00. So it's and expensive sunbathing spot.
Only plus is you can bring your own food and drink in. We'll with it as a bottle of water 0.5l is €3.80. We will be back to France again, but will spend the money on bubble gum, baguettes or wine rather than here.
Joe McGlynn — Google review
It's a nice aquapark, lots of slides and pools but make sure you come early.
Downside: very expensive for families.
Tip: take enough food and drinks with you
Food € 10
Drink € 5
Fastpass: €15 if you don't buy it don't bother to go to this park.
Park entrance: € 29
Bed or seat : € 4
Parking car: €4
Park opening 10.00h
Park closing 18.30h

Hereby some IMPORTANT TIPS from my visit from yesterday:
Be on time!! 10.00 is far too late. 09.15 max is a good time. After 09.30 the line will be many and many and many meters long.
All days in the summer holiday will be busy.
If you arrive at 9-ish you can park your car outside the Aqualand for free, just next to the roundabout. Payed parking is 4 EUR. Waiting line is a separate line.
Reserve your tickets online. So you don't have to wait it in the Tickets line. Go the the entrance lines.
Buy fastpass tickets. Regular: 20 EUR (limited to a mx number of slides). Premium: 30 EUR (unlimited). If you dont buy those tickets, expext waiting time 60-90 minutes for a slide. With a faspass ticket it is a few minutes. You can only buy the tickets IN the park at the Aquashop (2nd line). NOT in advance, NOT at the tickets counter! Fastpass tickets do only work for the most famous slides. Limited tickets available?
Buy a ticket for a bed 4 EUR and a locker 7 EUR at the aquashop. You will get 2 EUR back from the locker at the Aquashop of you get the key back to them. The beds will be checked if you pay for them and if you lie on the bed. If you only leave a towel on a bed, and you are not at the bed, your bed will not be checked (free bed).
However, plenty of trees to put your towel under (shadow) next to the purple slide.
Take your own drinks with you.
Buying food tickets in advance online does not make sense. You have to wait in the same line as everbody else. To use the tickets, you HAVE TO go first to the ticket office. You will get two coupons to spend at the restaurant. You cannot give the QR code directly at the restaurant!
The photo with the birds will cost you 15 EUR for one and 25 EUR for two. You can decide if you have seen the photos later in the day. Card and cash.
Paying with cash is difficult in general.
Expect some ants in your coffee or drink.
Vertigo slide waiting time, even with fastpass, is 2-3 hours. Just mad, bloody mad. Just don't do it (and you will burn from the sun in the waiting line), or do it as first or last slide on your day. Just use all the other slides instead of waiting for the Vertigo. This slide has had accidents in the past.
All these tips are from my own experience and not listed (yet) on the FAQ of the park. I think they will be handy!
Constantijn en Liza van Kooten Niekerk — Google review
Kids will love it but from my perspective it's focused on earning money only. Parking paid. Lockers paid. Sunbeds paid. Waiting time to biggest attractions was (mid Aug) one hour but hey you can always buy a past pass and skip the queue. I understand that they want to earn money but it looked like they wanted to make you angry and tired waiting in a line and seeing the staff letting the paid line go first.
Grzegorz Czekaj — Google review
Great set of slides (family of 4 with 11 and 9 year old), but queues are huge if you don't get the fast pass - which is well worth it, if you're only going once and want to get around all the slides.
We had the fast pass and did every slide, and a handful of our favourites (6 hour visit).
Food stalls were rammed, so I'd advise taking a packed lunch if you want to avoid more queues!
Richard Harrison — Google review
Returned to the water park yesterday after a few years. The new ride next to the cobra is now open as was being built last time we came. The park was busy but not jam packed like it was in August. Most of the French kids are still in school so we decided not to buy fast passes, and we didn't really need them. They've changed the fast pass pricing... 20€ gets one person, one pass with a limit of 2 goes per ride. 30€ is unlimited.
We all had a great time but as you'd expect it's pricey for food and drink.
Kris Foster — Google review
I understand why the reviews are low. The tickets are overpriced, and the waits are super long. We waited for 1 slide for 1 hour and 30 minutes. That too much. The slides aren't that good. Only thing that was fun is the dj but that was only 15 minutes. I won't recommend this park.
P.V.Y ?P.Y.V? — Google review
Too many people for this low capacity water park.
Without fast pass (20 euro extra!) you might as well stay away as it makes regular lines undoable.
The only two modern slides (Cobra and Vertigo) can handle less than 4 people per minute so lines these are absolutely stupid.
The rest of the park feels outdated and maintained bare bones. A lot of the slides are simply not worth the wait.
Perhaps only the kiddy pools are worth it when you have very young kids.
Food prices are very steep, even for a theme park, expect long waits there too.
A specific big negative is the photographer that walks around with a "tame" parakeet for photos. The poor animal has its wings clipped. Pure animal cruelty anno 2022. Wow...
Rutger 'Rudgr' Geerling (Rudgrcom) — Google review
A mediocre water park made to milk money out of. I would not recommend going here, go to the beach or a local lake with fun activities. Why?
First positives of this park, friendly welcome, staff speaks english well enough, and most importantly, the rides are really fun once you're on them, especially the vertigo.
Negatives?
It's too busy and expensive, food is mediocre (and is expensive as well), don't think you'll have a good amount of options when you have allergies. Toilets aren't clean but could be worse.
They have to get rid of the fast pass system. It makes queues for the others way longer. We waited 2 hours at the vertigo and I'm not exaggerating when I say that. I'd try to avoid the cobra and vertigo without the fast pass. The queues at other slides are doable but still pretty long.
If you're really into water slides, I'd recommend going somewhere else. If you really wanna go here, bring your own food and get the fast pass. Otherwise your day won't really be enjoyable and will mostly be just waiting and you reconsidering why the hell you even went here.
Bob Strügryia — Google review
Great park for all ages and providing a water thrill seekers enjoyment. Some slides will offer fast pass purchase as we waited 60 min on 1 ride which was great, but smaller kids might be hard to get to wait. Overall 8y and 15y had lots of fun.
Marcin Klosok — Google review
I have mixed feelings about my experience. While most of the staff were exceptional, two individuals at a food hut made inappropriate remarks about my English friends. My French-national wife caught on to their comments. When confronted, the staff tried to deflect, suggesting our friends took too long to order, which wasn't the case. They'd decided promptly but had to change their choice due to item unavailability. Remarks like these tarnish the overall impression of the park, which is otherwise great. It gets busy, so I recommend grabbing a fast pass upon entry, especially if visiting while on vacation.
Additional Note:
Making fun of tourists is especially problematic as they are more likely to inject money into the local economy. Tourism drives many businesses, and alienating visitors can have adverse effects on revenue. Moreover, a negative experience can lead to poor reviews, deterring potential visitors. Ensuring tourists have positive encounters not only fosters good relations but also encourages return visits and recommendations.
David White — Google review
Lots of slides for all ages, great pool in the middle of the park. There was water aerobics which was lots of fun. Lots of food outlets, fresh fruit, ice creams and drinks. It has a vip section which is good to get away from all the kids but you do have to pay an extra 20euros. Parking is good and shaded.
Henni Gullick — Google review
The facility itself is sensational. It offers many cool attractions. Unfortunately, everything is poorly organized there. Queues to the slides up to an hour of waiting, many of the attractions only for two (unfortunately, when you want to use them alone, you can't). I was also disappointed with the amount of games for smaller children. My son is 105 cm tall, which made 95% of the attractions inaccessible to him, and the zones for the youngest do not offer much. Still, we had a good time, so three stars out of five.
Tom. A. — Google review
Its not possible to do all the attractions in one day. Endless waiting due to too much people and this sh.. fast pass system. Its crazy that a few people can block all the others! NOT recommandable during high season. Obviously the park just wants money and give a sh.. on the customers.
This beautiful, iconic sandy beach is lined with exclusive restaurants, bars & clubs, as well as public showers. The 5km-long Plage de Pampelonne is famous for its line-up of celebrity-studded beach restaurants and clubs in summer. There are six access points to the beach, which starts 4km southeast of St-Tropez. If you're looking for a more relaxed or family-friendly atmosphere, you can find that here too.

We took 30 min to drive here from Saint Maxime and it was totally worth it! Clean sandy beach, quite a long walk in the water to get at least 2m depth, but the water is very clear. Beautiful beach close to Saint Tropez, come here early to get a parking spot directly at tje beach (approx. 14€ per day), free sandspots without beds, sunbeds only in one of the expensive clubs with prior reservation (usually nothing available without booking)

Very nice beach with beautiful view. Not too crowded. You can rent a sunbeds and bikes there. A few cafeterias and some best clubs around.
Toilet, shower and changing room acailable to public behind the cafeteria. Cheap parking nearby (€4.50 per day).
If only the sand was nicer and there were less pebbles. It was hard to get in the water without protective shoes. It can get windy there and then the waves are too high and make it impossible to enjoy water which becomes very messy. There is a deep steep carved by waves.
Kamila Monika — Google review
Beautiful beach, perfect water and a lot of attractions.
If Pampelonne beach proves too polished for your taste, head further south to Plage de l'Escalet. While technically a Ramatuelle beach, its still only a 15-minute drive from the centre of St Tropez. Small and simple, its ideal for those who seek a more homely kind of experience, devoid of loud beach clubs and water sports.
Beautiful beach, but can be pretty crowded in high season. Parking will also be difficult. Arriving early will prevent a lot of these troubles. Unfortunatly, due to its location there is a higher risk of jellyfish!

Super pretty, super clear, super family beach. Snorkeling, swimming. Bring sneaks to walk along the rocks. We parked before 10a on a Friday in the lot across the street and got the last spot. So go early!

We were taken to this beautiful beach while renting a boat in St Maxime. According to our house and hostess of the boat Lady N, this beach is called the swimming pool of St Tropez! With beautiful blue calm and see through crystal clear water we quickly understood why this was considered the best beach in St Tropez. We stayed around our boat and played with our water toys while thoroughly enjoying the beautiful waters of this beach. Would definitely return.

Great beach, very good waters and you have a choice of sand or rocks to swim. Parking it is not free you have to pay, it costed me 17€ for the whole day, hamburgers are 9 euro each, and they have great food for being meddle of nowhere! If is a little tricky to find the place but once there is heaven! Hint, if you download the indigo app you can get great deals on the parking across Cote D’azure. There are sometimes meduza in the waters but there are other visitors who remove them so go check the place out!

we enjoyed the beach which is great with kids and for snorkelling. there are parkings available. a nautical sport club, shower and toilets and best of all, a beach under surveillance.
Important side note: we are killing our only planet by polluting it day by day - plastic and cigarettes all over...
Plage de Grimaud is a picturesque sandy shoreline located near a bustling marina, offering a range of accommodations and dining options with stunning views of Saint-Tropez. Despite being popular among tourists and locals, the beach maintains a peaceful atmosphere with free public showers and toilet facilities. Families will appreciate the family-friendly amenities such as reasonably priced beachside cafes/restaurants, outside showers, and ample space for sunbathing.
I like this beach . Clear good for swim and for kids to play and swim .. also it has sea sport like Parachute , jet ski and more thing .

Oh god, the village is beautiful very nice place to take off. Also the landing spot was fantastic, however, if you don’t know France language you’ll be in trouble. The school boys are very pleasant but conservatives because they aren’t confident enough that you will understand them with they level of English. About the village, with my regards to others, is one of backward place I ever experienced. Good luck with beginners.

The perfect setting to feel confident throughout the course. We were also accompanied by Louis on our first flights who was very educational and reassuring, a top team 👌

Grimaud is a charming village situated in the Var department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. Nestled on the French Riviera, this perched village boasts historical connections to the Grimaldi family. To fully experience all that Grimaud and its surroundings have to offer, it's recommended to rent a car for convenient exploration.
17% as popular as Aix-en-Provence
23 minutes off the main route, 30% of way to Marseille
Chateau de Grimaud, a ruined 11th-century castle, offers commanding views of the countryside and coast. The castle was altered in the 15th century before being demolished during the Wars of Religion. Despite its ruinous state, visitors can still see high walls, arrow slits, gates and windows, underground passages, and cisterns. The climb to the fort is rewarded with stunning bay views perfect for photography. In high season, musical performances may be enjoyed here.
Charming little town, clean and picturesque, and doesn't feel too touristy either. One of my two favorites while visiting France - we visited in January during low season and oftentimes it felt like we were the only people there, felt very peaceful.

Beautiful village with good eating places and spectacular views from the remains of the hill top château
mindmybike — Google review
If you are looking for a working castle, thus is not it. While impressive from a distance, it is ruin. Some of it has been restored, but area inhabitants swiped a lot of the stones over a few centuries.
Still, it's a lovely spot, easy to get to, and worth your time for the views alone. You can see Stlaint Tropez from here.
Chris Wyatt — Google review
Bit of a climb but definitely worth it. Once you get to the fort, you have an amazing view of the bay which is great for taking photo's with your friends/relatives/lover. During the high season there are musical performances sometimes, make sure you check with the locals if you want to catch a show or look for posters with information. Grimaud itself is also beautiful and typical Southern French, it's almost as if time stood still here. Very romantic. For the best parking / walking route, make sure you take the road leading up on the right side of the fountain just after you enter the village from the coast. Keep following this narrow road until you get to a small square in the middle of town, surrounded by restaurants. You can park there and then walk up to the fort through the best streets of the village.

I visited Grimaud castle at 11pm and I have to say it's way better than during the day. The quietness during the night is superb and the lights on the castle makes everything magical.
We parked in a car parking just in front of a lift that brought us up to Grimaud.
From 11pm the parking is free.

Possibly 4 stars if you like 10th to 12th century hilltop villages with lots of steep up & down walking. This village will be a challenge it you have mobility issues. I was there on a guided bus tour. The guide added a lot of historical value.
Thomas Kaus — Google review
Ruins are nothing special, but it offers great views of the surroundings, well worth a visit if in the area. Parking is available on the Nord side, then it is a short hike up a dirt path and some stairs to the ruins. Take the longer drive to the parking / cemetery around the old part of the village to avoid the narrow streets. Even from below, especially in the sunset light, Grimaud and the Chateau ruins above look like a picture from a fairytale.
Beatiful and peaceful, it is a fitting location for the Allied war dead from the battle to liberate southern France, mostly American. It was a privilege to visit, and to honor the Greatest Generation.

We (five American women) drove by this cemetery by chance driving to Draguignan to a farmer's market in 2002.. we were taken by the vastness of it and stopped to visit. Port-Cros National Park is a protected island in an archipelago known for its dense vegetation, forests, and diverse marine ecosystem. Established in 1963, it was France's first marine national park and covers an area of 17 sq km land (primarily Ile de Port-Cros and Ile de Poquerolles) along with 29 sq km of surrounding ocean. The park boasts exceptional fauna and flora making it a popular destination for snorkelling enthusiasts.

Be prepared for long roads. The beaches are pretty small. Plenty of fish right as you walk in the wather. As you walk away from the port there are no places where you can buy stuff like wather, so it is really remote, you need to bring everything with you. Beautiful views and beaches.

Le Sentier Du Littoral is a coastal trail that offers beautiful views and a chance to explore the area's natural beauty. The trail leads along rocky cliffs, providing a relaxing soundtrack of waves crashing against the shore. While it's an easy walk for all ages, it's recommended to wear sensible shoes with firm soles, especially after rain when it can be slippery.

Very friendly guide who did the tour in two languages especially for us. We couldn't attend the time we reserved and paid because of an accident and we were allowed to visit a later moment. It’s a quite large and beautiful park. One part is just the open areas with benches and trees and playground. Another part is a tall and gorgeous waterfall. Next to that are the caves. It will take maybe 2 hours to see it, but it is a very beautiful park
Juliette Hartmann — Google review
A very lovely place, very peaceful. Remember that you need to have real shoes when you enter the cave because how slippery it is. You will get stopped in the entry by the clerk if you have beach shoes on you. If you have problems with disability like a wheelchair you will have hard time to enjoy the garden and the caves you can forget. They have WiFi on the area for free.
My Sick relief — Google review
The cave was quite good. Only thing is that you need to reserve your tickets online. There is no option to buy onsite. It's a small one, however the surrounding was pretty impressive how they had carved out the windows and doors. Would recommend to visit once.

Here's the deal with the caves at Villecroze - they were really nice to see and learn about, with some truly amazing geological features (especially the columns). The guides were knowledgeable and sincere about sharing their understanding of the caves with the tour. It is also cool inside which is nice on hot days.
Because the caves were also a bit of a fort it is a neat combination of history and geology.

Abbaye du Thoronet, one of the 'The Sisters' trio of Provencal Cistercian abbeys, was built between 1160 and 1190 as a stone monastery with an original cellar where wine and olive oil were made. The ultra-austere style of architecture includes pure proportions, perfectly dressed stone, and a subtle interplay of light and shadow on unadorned but never severe geometry.
Worth the visit, PLEASE pay the £3 for the audio tour device because it makes such a difference and makes this amazing abbey woth the visit. Its 911 years old! There is am actor also voicing the part of an abbot and what he saw in his day, it made the visit come alive.

We went here on the recommendation of a family member and were not disappointed. What a fantastic abbey that is still in it's original condition. You can take a 1 hour guided tour or take the map and tour on your own. I’ve seen old churches and ruins of really old one. But this 10th century stucture was really amazing! Inside the time stood still, as is typical to these former holy places but it still had that shroud of sadness lingering all over the place.
Getting here was really difficult. Our “TomTom” navigator was so lost and first tried to guide us through very narrow cart parths. Luckily we had that small car and fit that path quite well, thank you. But we decided to turn it off and use the main roads and logic. Found the parking lot 10 minutes later via different route.

The ropes and zip line park is easily the best I've ever been to or even heard of. And this includes chasing down expensive (but fun) zip lines in the Colorado Rockies. It is ENORMOUS!! All levels of difficulty, from small kids to adults. It's for sure a workout, especially on a hot day. And the big zips at the end are super fun!
The farm area was also super fun for kids - GET POPCORN to feed animals.
Snack bar was very affordable and friendly.
I get there is a lot to do in Var, but taking a day away from cultural or beach tourist stuff to just climb around at this park was a fantastic day.
One of the easiest 5 stars I've ever given. I was dumbfounded about how small the crowds were!

Fantastic day out for whole family. Whether you do the accrobranche or not, you have plenty to do for all ages. Staff are friendly, you have walks and plenty to discover on nature and animals. Reasonable pricing for such activity for family. Highly recommended for all ages.
Lynda Dupont — Google review
Good experience but for kids above 8 and below 1.2m high it is not so great as the price is very expensive for not much. The staff is nice in general apart from the girl with black hairs and tattoos at the entrance, pretty nasty and dishonest.

Had a wonderful morning here, climbing amongst the trees. This place is fun for adults and kids (though it’s weird if you come here without kids.) Don’t think that the adventure park is easy, you need a bit of energy to get through all the courses but you will have an excellent time. The staff are super-friendly and the small sandwich shop has very reasonable prices.

This place is wonderful! Funny and crazy staff always nice and caring.
You need the full day to do everything! Tree climbing is fantastic!!!! Thank you Aoubré for your welcoming!!!

Lovely place, if you’re looking for a sportive outing in this area, Aoubré is worth your visit. We met the most wonderful staff members, the tracks through the trees are well organised for beginners and more experienced climbers. Icecreams, drinks and snacks were available. We loved every minute there.

everything was okay ,we love the barefoot trails ,but i think the best time to come is after the spring !

I'm one of those people that are not easily impressed. We literally just came back from Aoubre and before I hop in the shower (and you'll definitely need one after this visit) I am taking care of my more urgent need, to write a 5-star review. This place is absolutely amazing and worth every penny. In fact, if the price was double, it would still be worth the money. If you are spending your vacation anywhere within a 1 hour drive from Aoubre, you should not miss the opportunity to visit. Two thumbs up with both arms stretched up.

Parc des Cèdres Chemin de, La Rouvière, 83340 Flassans-sur-Issole, France
Short forest trail leading to a deck with views of a waterfall tumbling over a tree-covered cliff.
Very nice small Waterfall. Parking is relatively small, so prepare for waiting.
Azamat Shegenov — Google review
Beautiful place, with a running waterfall in the Sun. It's a breathtaking sight to see, with the special colour of the water. It's only a 15 minute-walk from the parking spot where we parked. Also nice to walk around the very small village. This doesn't take long altogether, but it is worth the drive. Tip to visit next in the same day is Lac de Saint-Croix and a drive through Gorges du Verdon.

Great little waterfall! Pretry easy hike. There are quite a few stairs though. People with strollers and wheelchairs were having a little trouble, but still made it. Worth the view!
ShellBell — Google review
This looks very fancy on google maps, however in reality a very disappointing experience. You cannot anywhere near the waterfall, only viewpoint is really a distant one and they do not really bother to inform you upfront. Orientation very confusing and the walk is rather long for the view you get.
This might be have been linked to seasonal limitations (severe fire hazard in 08/2023), however a sincere advice : skip this from your to-do list.
Martin Tobisek — Google review
Amazing experience. Ignore comments regarding accesability. There are different routes to get to either lagoons-type settings or waterfalls.
I went with my wife and 1 year old todler, and spent a total of 30 minutes from the farthest parking to the places shown in the images.
Don't wear sandals, keep on walking towards the smaller paths, and you're in for a treat.

Place du 8 Mai 1945, 83690 Sillans-la-Cascade, France
Sanctuary for over 1,300 tortoises & turtles, with guided tours & an exhibit of fossils.
A fabulous place to visit. Amazing information on endless species of turtles and tortoises from all over the world. Many different species to see, a museum, films to watch and a wonderful gift shop. These people are dedicated to keeping these incredible animals protected. A must see if you are in the area. Please support them in any way you can and let's prevent any of these creatures from becoming extinct.

This place was heaven for my kids. Seeing that much tortues in one place.
So many species sizes colors... I never knew that we well have that much to see.

This team has devoted itself to the protection of turtles worldwide. This village provides an insight into the life of turtles, their evolution, the different species and their habitat. Maybe not so obvious that the Provence/Var region is home to a significant population of wild turtles. The village provides medical support to these, but also to any turtle that is found in need.
It's a great visit, especially since they moved to the new location in Pignans. All explanations are in French and English. You can watch a film and the fresh water turtles in the newly built aquarium are an amazing sight. There's also a little playground as well as a kiosk and a shop.
Joachim Mathes — Google review
Lovely place. A lot of turtles to watch and some signs to find out more about the different types. It looks like they are taken really good care of. The caretakes are also really nice and are ready to answer all kinds of questions. There was even a speech held by someone about turtles.

Not a long trip (1hr max). They do a lot of effort to keep the turtles healthy and safe. Good educational value.

Somewhat hard to find coming from the A57 so if you are driving from Nice get off at Gonferon and drive from there. Great place with lots to see so expect to use at least 1.5-2 hours. Most stuff is in english as well which is good to be France, but the movie at the end had no subtitles. Exhibits are outside so in the heat it can be a bit warm with few shady spots. Otherwise absolutly worth a visit!
(Translated by Google) We are from the region but we never take the time to discover what is close to us. I would like to thank the whole team of the tourist train of the center var for their welcome and for the wonderful moment of discovery of the center var. The animator / guide knows his job perfectly, between anecdotes, animation and description of the landscapes it was great. A little something extra: a visit to the train depot in Besse sur Isole.
In the train, not insignificant convenience when you have children (toilets, cold drinks at more than affordable prices...). Did the tour with my 3 week old baby and 7 year old daughter and highly recommend.
Plan a picnic if you do not want to go to the restaurant, the ideal being in this case to go down to Ste Anastasie (recommendation of the guide) there is a superb park with a playground for children, Picnic table in the shade and in the fresh near the creek.
Thanks to the whole team.

(Translated by Google) Hello everyone. It's a very nice ride for a fair price. The staff of the association is very pleasant. Unfortunately I found the train very dirty inside. Nothing lays on the floor but to give an example, the backs of the seats barely show their original color as they are covered in dirt. The rest is of the same ilk. I would therefore tend to advise against this visit because of that. Damage

Dommage

One of the most stunning views of the region, based on a particular geological phenomenon.
The cliff is equipped with stairs so that it is easy to visit (unless you have particular physical limitations, or a weight problem).
The village is also nice to visit, but small so you can count maybe 30mn-60mn.
The local tourism office organises guided visits of the village and of the cliff, which are great. But it is not everyday and obviously it is in French.
Magic World - Parc d'attractions à Hyères is an outdoor amusement park that is suitable for families and offers a variety of classic rides and games. It operates from May to September, boasts a large free parking lot, and has free entrance with individual ride payments. The pricing for the rides is reasonable at around 5 euros per ride. The park caters to both adults and children with different types of rides available for everyone's enjoyment.
This is so much fun - we had a blast. It's very old fashioned, which, for us, added to the fun - my oldest kid called it the boardwalk, because of the movie the Lost Boys, where a fun fair like this is featured. It has water rides, the ugliest horror house ever, with a very bored guy doing the live action, much to our amusement. Spray for mosquitoes, there's a lot of them. They have fun gambling games, for young and old, two fun houses, the Pirates themed one is very nice. A lot of classic attractions, a Super Mouse, A Break Dance, a Booster. The prices are reasonable, and you can get discount cards in all shops and campings, bring as many as your company is, and you'll get 1 or so euro discount for a ride. We went 3 times in 2 weeks, just for the atmosphere. Please note: if you expect the latest and newest, do not go - this is really the old fashioned type of fair.
Parking is free. And bumpy but a lot of space.
Frouke Milet de St. Aubin — Google review
This is like an old fashioned fun fair. Entrance is free but you pay per person for each ride/activity. In a way this is better than whacking on a big entrance fee as it gives you the choice of how much you spend. However prices were between 3 and 7 Euros so it soon racks up! There is a cash point at the entrance!
Overall good fun for a couple of hours and the kids loved it. As a parent you just need to be sensible dishing out the cash so as to avoid bankruptcy!
Did not personally go on the ghost train but everyone coming out of it seemed traumatised so must be good!
matt day — Google review
Huge free parking lot. Free entrance, and you pay each desired ride separately, which I think it is a good idea. The prices were decent, like 5 euros a ride. Some rides are for adults and some for kids, so everybody has something to do. Many choices for food.

Was good but a bit high Priced. I only went on three rides. The first one was very good but i do not advise going on it if you loos consciousness quickly or throw up easily from dizziness and especially not when you have a hart condition.(Forgot the name but it is the big one with the arm that spinns. The second ride was not to interesting because all it was was spinnig chairs that went high in the ski but the view was good. Thrid ride i went on was called Colorado, a water themed ride. I got soaked but it was fun. I really recommend but be ready to spend some money!

Good attractions, but pricey. They don't accept credit card and you need to buy individually in each attractions, which cost between 4 and 8 Euros each.

A summer mainstay for locals and visitors to the area. It's not Six Flag or Great Adventure more like Coney Island in NYC. Great amusement for kids and teens. Be prepared to spend money like a drunken sailor.
The Vieille ville Cité Médiévale is a captivating historical landmark that nearly deserves a perfect rating. The only aspect that may fall short is the parking availability. This small medieval center astounds visitors with its enchanting narrow and steep streets, bustling city squares, and delightful street musicians. While there are souvenir shops present, there are numerous other attractions to enjoy as well. Exploring this area on foot for hours brings immense joy and satisfaction.
Nice experience. Plenty of shops and small side streets to explore. Did not really get a sense of anything traditionaly medieval, but still a good experience.

I will almost give this 5 stars.
Parking might be the lacking last star.
The small mideval center of town is absolutely amazing. Narrow streets. steep streets, city squares, music on the street corners.
Here are souvenier shops, but if you avoid these, there is plenty of other things to enjoy ... I walked here for hours, and I am happy to do so again.
The city square has an old knights templar castle/tower. An absolute beauty to behold.
There is lots and lots of foods to choose from ... from the local eatery over touristic cafés and then the artisinal bakery.
If you have lots of energy: walk all the way to the top and enjoy the medival castle .. or just walk halfway and see the church and the view of the old town.

Located high on a hill, this summer villa offers a superb view over Hyères and the Mediterranean Sea.
The block-shaped building stands out against the green hills covered with cypresses. Certainly impressive, but not half as special as just after its completion in 1925.
This villa is now an art centre of national interest and presents exhibitions, festivals and workshop all year long. Avant gardiste for their time you can discover the way of life of wealthy and arty French couple, Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles.
It became an artist’ meeting place between the two wars.
The villa is a perfect example of Mallet Stevens architecture.
The building needs a renovation and more furnitures in order to give to the visitors more ideas and feelings about the way of life on that time.
Support the foundation and visit it , it’s free so leave a donation.

Boring, weird, waste. Also, the art looks like a five year old and his buddy where at a sleepover throwing paint at a canvas and putting there handprints and face on it. And it you could barely observe the "art" because you couldn't get close.
Plage de l'Almanarre is a lengthy and narrow strip of land that features a bay perfect for wind and kite surfers. During this season, it is an ideal spot for picnics with loved ones. It's important to note that there are no restrooms on-site and limited shade, therefore, it's recommended to visit during this time of the year when the weather is cooler.
Long and nice sandy beach. Parking spot available on the road behind. In the summer there is a cute train that takes you there (rolls on wheels). I visited in May so the water was a bit cold for my taste, but saw a few people surfing. There are a few good spots for that.
