Muzeum Zamoyskich w Kozłówce
Museum
Art gallery
Baroque palace-turned-museum set in landscaped gardens, with guided tours & a socialist art gallery.
The Zamoyski Palace in Kozłówka is a treasure trove of history and art. Built in 1742 and later owned by the Zamoyski family, the palace underwent significant renovations by Konstanty Zamoyski between 1897 and 1914. The interiors boast authentic furnishings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the Second Empire style.
Reasons to visit:
1. Unique National Treasure: Among the best-preserved palaces in Poland, it offers a glimpse into 19th-century aristocratic life.
2. Original Interior: From the adorned palace hall to the stunning marble staircase, the interiors exude aristocratic charm. The Red Salon, White Salon, and Countess's Bedroom are particularly impressive.
3. Beautiful Tiled Stoves: The palace features ornate tile stoves for year-round comfort, adding to the aesthetic appeal.
4. Painting Gallery: Adorning the palace walls are around 460 paintings, depicting crucial moments in Polish history and family portraits.
5. Diverse Antique Furnishings: Unlike many reconstructed sites, Kozłówka's collection includes originals, showcasing the precise taste of the owners.
6. Additional Exhibits: Explore the Socialist Realism Art Gallery and the Chapel and Room of Cardinal Wyszyński.
7. Impressive Surroundings: The palace complex includes a theater, chapel, guest wing, terraces, two towers serving as water towers, and a beautiful garden.
The palace tour provides insight into the Zamoyski family's remarkable history and the unique slogan "To mniey boli" displayed at the entrance, originating from a heroic ancestor's response during a medieval battle. Don't miss this extraordinary blend of history, art, and architecture!

Late Baroque magnate/aristocratic residence. This place is truly incredible when looking at all their jaw-dropping artwork!
An art gallery with impeccable taste representing some of the country's finest pieces. Definitely worth the trip!
I highly recommend it to anyone interested in art, history and culture, whether you are a seasoned gallery-goer or a first-timer.
Charming and helpful staff!!

Interesting old house associated with one of Poland's oldest and richest families who were essentially disinherited by the Soviet's. Amazing collection of Uranium Glass, paintings, etc.
Has a small restaurant on site and other little places to see, plus some nice grounds
Warning: they only do house tours in Polish - so we didn't understand a thing, but Wikipedia and other sources made up for it :-)

Beautiful place. Recommend to visit it if you have time. Entry to the palace is every 15 minutes and tour duration is about 1 hour with guide.
Mateusz Kassjaniuk — Google review
Beautifully maintained palace in an often ignored area of Poland, the wonderful Lublin area. The estate's grounds & gardens are so inviting you'll have no trouble convincing family members of all ages to make a day of it just relaxing in the sun so pack a picnic, just bring enough to share for the peacocks (kids love them).
Helpful tip if you are challenged linguistically. Read up on the history online before the tour and just enjoy the beauty of the rooms or pay the extra złoty for the English audio book. The tour guides really hurry you through each room due to all the group schedules. As such, there is very little wiggle room for translation time while simultaneously fighting to hear over the museums louder pa system, tour guide, etc.
I personally enjoyed myself more using my limited Polish, reading beforehand, plus I made friends with the Polish people in the group; they always seem excited to practice their English with someone interested in the history of their country so my advice, skip the audio book and meet some nice people.

We absolutely fell in love with this place. Very interesting excursion with a guide! The palace has very reach collection of different pieces of art.
It was easy to get to Kozłówka from Lublin, we called for Bolt. However, it was much harder to go back...
We were waiting for the city bus for almost 2 hours, it's never arrived, so we had to call the taxi and pay 130 PLN :/ But the palace was worth it 👍

The palace is well maintained and it's in great condition. The guide that showed me around definiyely knew what she was talking about. She explained the history of Zamoyski family in detail and answered any questions someone might have had.
The Castle Tower, a historical landmark in close proximity to the city center, boasts stunning panoramas of the surrounding area. Situated just a short stroll away, this structure offers unparalleled vistas that are sure to leave a lasting impression. The tower's height is not excessive but still provides an unforgettable experience with breathtaking sights. The view from here can be described as magnificent, showcasing the beauty of the surroundings.

Absolutnie niesamowity widok z baszty! Byliśmy tam z samego rana, co okazało się strzałem w dziesiątkę, gdyż wracając dostrzec można było grupy turystów. Bez tłumu można było naprawdę delektować się spokojem i pięknem otaczającego krajobrazu.

(Translated by Google) The tower is located on a hill, so it can be seen from every side of the city. The high height of the building and its location allow you to view the entire panorama of Kazimierz Dolny. From there you can see the beautiful architecture of the former castle, the oldest parish church in the city, the charming Kazimierz market square, the winding ribbon of the Vistula River and the surrounding glades and forested areas. A beautiful view spreads from every side, and in good weather and visibility you can see the Świętokrzyskie Mountains and Puławy.

We recently visited Castle Czersk, also known as Zamek Książat Mazowieckich, and it was an amazing trip back in time. The castle is in the pretty Mazovian countryside and is like a living museum, showing the history and grand buildings of Poland.
When we got close to the castle, we were impressed by how big and important it looked, surrounded by greenery and a peaceful moat. The outside of the castle has cool old details, like fancy bricks and medieval stuff, making me feel like I was in the past. The people who worked on fixing it up did a great job keeping it real and historical.
Inside, the castle is like a museum where you can learn a lot about Polish history. They have interesting exhibits about the Mazovian princes, showing their stuff like old tools, weapons, and clothes. The layout of the castle is big, but it's easy to walk around and see all the different rooms.
One of the best parts of my visit was the Great Hall. It's a fancy room that makes you feel like you're back in the old days with high ceilings, cool tapestries, and a big fireplace. The attention to detail in fixing it up is impressive, making it feel like the castle's prime time.
The castle is in a good spot, and if you climb to the top, you get amazing views of the land around it. It made me realize how strategic the castle was for defense and talking to other places.
The guides at the castle were super helpful. They knew a lot and told interesting stories, making the visit not just about looking at things but also learning cool stuff. They were happy to answer questions and talk with us, making the visit fun and educational.
In conclusion, my visit to Castle Czersk was like going on a magical history journey in Poland. The careful fixing up, interesting exhibits, and the pretty surroundings make it a must-see for anyone who likes history or just wants to explore. Zamek Książat Mazowieckich is a special place full of culture, and I left feeling really connected to Poland's past.

A good experience for someone who are really into Poland history. It's a quick tour! I really like it and you can explore the entire castle in around 40 minutes. There is cards in English, so if you don't speak Polish, don't worry.

Castle ruins with interesting history.
You can visit two of the three towers, one is round and the other one is the gate tower just remember to watch your steps in the staircase and don't hit your head. The courtyard is empty because the buildings were burned down by Swedes in the 1650s. Ticket prices are pretty cheap regular is 16 pln and reduced is 11 pln. They also sold some magnets and other souvenirs. I would recommend visiting this castle if you are interested in history / old architecture.

Brings back memories from childhood and in the week it's empty - good for a picnic. I would recommend visiting for one of the events, as otherwise it's 2 towers and grass. The view from the top is quite nice but lacks any special sights. It was a nice day trip but wouldn't visit again, maybe on a weekend.

An interesting place with a nice picnic lawn and activities for kids. A bit chaotic climbing the towers. Good information boards if you can read in Polish.
Not sure I would visit again. Perhaps with a guide who can tell you more about the history.
Łazienki Park is one of the most beautiful places in Warsaw and is a popular tourist destination with a range of attractions including palace, gardens, amphitheatre and various follies. The park is well-maintained and peaceful and is perfect for a relaxing day out.
Beautiful park in the center of Warsaw, I advise all tourists to visit. Admission to the park is free, there are also museums on site, which can be accessed for a fee. The territory of the park is very large and spacious, you can take beautiful photos and just relax in nature. Peacocks also live in the park and there are many squirrels. Incredible place! 😍😍😍

Lazienki Park in Warsaw is like a quiet, beautiful garden in the middle of the city. It's full of pretty plants, big old buildings, and calm ponds. You can walk around, see historical places like the Palace on the Water, and enjoy the Chopin Monument and you will have a lot of birds , chirping sounds make it even more beautiful. It's a great place to relax and learn about history if you visit Warsaw. Toilet signs are not well placed, you have run around to realize it's within the hunting museum.

Great and impressive park with rich history and nice nature around. You can find several buildings as parts of royal residence and even peacocks in any season! It's better to spend at least 2 hours in this park to discover main places.

Nice place. It has different sculptures: par example, Greek. Famous female sculptor from Athens came here to create something called “center of the world”.
Furthermore, You can observe ducks and pigeons happily exploring the vast fields of grass. Ducks like to swim and approach people.
Łazienki-Park is big. Even though it is famous and popular, You can always find a cozy place to rest and calm Your soul.

Nice place for evening strolls! The plants, birds, and buildings were well-reserved!
There were also free toilets and people who sold coffee, snacks, and sugar canes right outside of the park!

A beautiful park with a lot to see and enjoy.
Very popular but it is large enough to find quiet spaces.
(Lots of red squirrels, beware they are very used to being fed so will run up your leg if you stand still looking at them!)

Pretty park. It was a king park and it’s a public park now. There is the palace and I expected to see it more magnificent)) But all picture of the palace with the lake is beautiful.

Came here on our trip to Warsaw for a bit of time away from the city. Was a fair walk from the centre but worth it for this peaceful atmosphere. I can imagine it’s beautiful in the summer but we still enjoyed it on a grey winters day. The highlight was seeing the peacocks and red squirrels, but this park is a beautiful place to visit to relax for an hour or so.

I was there during the summer and it was beautiful, a lot to see around , relax , breath the air and walk around. You can find some hidden spots to sit surrounded by the trees and nature . Recommend for anyone visiting Warsaw to spend a day here in nature and explore the history. However dogs are not allowed in the park. Heads-up for dog owners . Warsaw is generally dog friendly. A family day out here would be lovely. It’s kids friendly. The map is helpful so lay your hands on one of you can .

The Royal Łazienki (the Royal Baths) was one of those places in Warsaw that enchanted me completely! I am a total fan of greenery, and here in the very center of the city there is a huge, vast area drowning in greenery with charming paths, monuments, squirrels and walking peacocks. Contact with nature, peace, quiet, the opportunity to watch jumping squirrels, all surrounded by 18th century architecture. Everything was amazing there.
The Copernicus Science Centre is a world-renowned science museum that is full of fascinating interactive exhibits for all ages. The permanent exhibition includes topics like inertia, the cosmos, perception, light and optics, colours, electricity, magnetism, weather, waves and more. The center also has a robotic theater and planetarium which are perfect for learning about space exploration.
Hours of fun and entertainment for kids and adults! I really fall in love with this amazing science center! It is a great place for curious minds, with every step you discover more and you want more. Visit by 8 milion people from 2018 when it was open, and having over 400 interactive exhibits, this is a realy amazing place to see and wonderful experience to live! We visit from Romania and plan to visit every time when we go to Warszawa.

Many exhibits over 2 floors with hands on displays, explaining the science behind the things around us.

Science that you can touch and feel. Kids and adults all together are learning something new and discovering the world. I also recommend to visit planetarium. Experience that worth to visit. It’s better to buy tickets beforehand as when we arrived tickets were available only in an hour, and there were no available tickets to planetarium for example. But there are a lot of free shows, just check the timetable and select which one you’d like to visit.

An amazing place to go on your own if you are an adult, but better still to visit it with your kids, they'll be excited!
The weekdays are much more quiet, the weekend is way more crowded and then you have to book the time
Lots of things to do, see and try!
Strongly recommend to visit Planetarium, it's worth it, you can get the audio guide in different languages (ask for it before you enter the planetarium).

This is great place to spend a day with kids. We was with 3 kids, and they saw something cool for themselves. The most excited was playing with water. Of course the children were wet, but their emotions were incredible. We knew this, so we had a change of clothes😅.

Visited this science centre few times over the years and no matter how many times one visits this place, it is still interesting and exciting every time 😊 it’s very fun and educational experience. However this place has so many visitors that we had to wait in line pretty much at every attraction in order to try it out.
Lots of English cards next to the exposition units were missing so that was a big minus.
This place doesn’t seem to be able to manage queues, there is always massive lines to the ticket office, cloakroom etc.
Suggest buying tickets online and it seems it gets slightly more quiet in the evenings when visiting on a weekend.

This was an amazing experience!!! A must visit if you go to Warsaw for sure!! Tickets can be booked online for the main exhibitions and separately for planetarium and it's better to book in advance cause it can be very busy!! We were there for almost 5 hours and still didn't manage to see everything! It's a great place for adults and kids as well! I have to remove one star in my review though cause some of the exhibitions didn't have English available which made it difficult to participate and also planetarium had live interaction only in Polish which was also not explained when you book the tickets! I paid for planetarium and couldn't understand half of the show! It should be written when you book, that English is not available in all shows!! Other than that it was a great experience and definitely recommended!!

Place is interesting and you can learn new things, but there were so many kids that were really distraction and while watching some attraction they always interrupt and did not have any patience while we were watching something or making photos, so we had to give up a lot on many attractions).
We wanted to enter to Planetarium as well but it was fully booked so recommended to book in advance.

Both children and adults should go. Many things are shown through installations. I think it's a real talent to describe complex phenomena and processes simply. We bought tickets a day in advance, came in the morning, and stayed until closing because there is something to see... and think about.

It is an amazing place to teach the kids the science. The sciences shows have been distributed into different classes. The ground floor is related to electronic technology and music, while the upper floor is mainly related to optics and mechanical science. The kids will learn a lot.
In addition to that you can enjoy nice meals.

A very fun and interactive museum about physics and science. It is named after Kopernicus but most of the museum is about science in general and fun to visit with kids. We did not visit the planetarium but seemed like a fun addition to the visit. You can spend hours just walking around and interacting with the exhibits and the shows are also nice to experience.

The museum is really big, everything is interactive & engaging---but it can be quite exhausting by the end of it bc there's sooooo much stuff to do and see.
- 30zł for 1 normal adult ticket (definitely worth it)
- very English friendly
- 2 floors of interactive exhibitions covering an extremely wide range of science topics. Everything is presented in a fun & engaging manner; there's something for kids & adults of all ages. We were all young adults (21-22 years old) but were plenty entertained.
- Needs at least 2 hours. More if you want to try everything
- Free toilets & free lockers -- Lockers require 2zł coin (we just used our own country's coin & it worked)
- Gift shop & Cafe inside
- We bought our tickets at the counter with no queue or wait to enter, But we didn't go for any shows like the planetarium, so no idea about how those tickets work.
Would recommend, but maybe come on a day when it isn't so crowded.... Idk why it was so crowded when we were there....

Visited as a family w/kids: 12yo so and 10yo daughter. Went for the demo shows in Polish only: robots theater and the high voltage (Tesla generator) and the latter was awesome. All the interactive exhibits are great. Topped it with the visit to the planetarium: Birth of the Earth! We spent the entire day there with a few breaks for drinks and snacks. You may bring your snacks and may re-fill the water bottles! Great experience!
The iconic Palace of Culture and Science building in Warsaw is a towering structure with plenty to offer visitors, including theaters, a congress hall, and private companies. The building was constructed by Soviet workers as a gift to the Poles, and its height - at 237 metres - makes it one of the tallest buildings in Poland.
I strongly recommend going on the observation deck in the Palace of Culture and Science while visiting Warsaw. The view is truly stunning. The tickets are quite cheap and there's no time limit on the top. The lift is quite fast, but even the short queue (~25 people) took us like 20 minutes to get to the lift. I recommend checking busyness on google maps before visiting.

This place is very special place to visit in Warsaw, Poland.
From this place, you can see whole Warsaw. There is a fees of 25 zloty for adult and for students there is a student discount.
You can see all big skyscrapers from this top.
For a normal people it’s only allowed to go to 30 floors maximum.
Inside there is a small restaurant type where you can have good food.
The view is just amazing.
Good during evening hours so that you can watch sunsets and also the lights switching on of different skyscrapers.
It’s super.

Really beautiful icon and could be considered some kind of second Eiffel Tower for Warsaw.
Even though it's a symbol of Socialism and could be thought of as just a Communist monument, it's really a well-designed Palace.

The building isn’t anything special but the view from it is really magnificent, especially during the golden hour. I recommend to visit this place in the evening if you want great photos. But the waiting time was longer than we expected (around 20 minutes). That was because only one of six lifts were working. So keep in mind that.

The first thing you think of when you’re in Warszawa. Easily accessible thanks to the well planned transportation system in the city. This old piece of soviet architecture is truly stunning. The details in the building itself along with the views it gives from the top are just something else. I truly recommend visiting this palace to truly understand that grandeur the city played during its time and current history.

Warsaw historic site. At the top of the palace you find panoramic views of the city which are worth seeing. In my opinion, the price of the ticket to enter seems a little high for the simple fact of using an elevator.

Lovely looking Tower, given to the Polish from Stalin as a gift back in the day.....
Nowadays its a cultural marker in a modern city surrounded by nice and shiny high rise office towers.........its still holds its elegance well, and is a beautiful building to look at from below.
Going to the top, or at least some of the way to the top, one has to queue a little as its busy....... and with only one lift working on the day.....it did take half an hour to first buy a ticket, then get inline for the lift......
But at the top, the views are great, and one can see as far as the eyes can go of the city of Warsaw in all its splendid glory. Great views at the top.
Going back down again, another bit of a wait to the bottom.......another 20 or 30 minutes .......but I didn't mind really as the lines were moving, just slowly!
Worth a visit to see the skyline of Warsaw

This building is magnificent. It seems like the communist version of the Empire State Building. It is equally impressive and maybe more since it is not crammed in the city but there is plenty of space around it. Modern scyscrapers are around as well as the mall and train station my favorite building in Warsaw.

Nice architecture/building in the middle of Warsaw, nearby the central station. The location is just perfect. The surrounding area is nice to walk around and even to visit inside and go up for panoramic view. Ticket is very reasonable, the view of Warsaw from above is amazing. Many restaurants/shops are nearby and next to this palace is a shopping mall. Get there early to avoid long queue but it should be fine.

Terrace view was amazing, definitely recommend. Elevator was too fast and queue was passing quickly. If you are going to visit lots of museums, recommend getting warsaw-pass ticket, which cost 150 zloty for 24 hours. It includes 25 museums and other benefits. Bad part was that stuff was really rude.

An imposing and impressive building in the heart of Warsaw. Surrounded by gardens and fountains at various points.
I would recommend going up to the top via lift where you get great aerial views of Warsaw. Tickets are reasonably priced too. If you have time, I would recommend spending dedicate walking in grounds surrounding the building.

Nice view at the floor 30 viewing platform. They didn’t closed on time, which allowed visitors to stay about 30 mins more after 8 p.m. closing time. A place for the night view of Warsaw.

Really cool view from the terrace. You can get up there with the super quick elevator in 20 seconds. The building itself is interesting with art deco elements. Restaurants, cafés and theaters inside.
Catherine Baumgartner — Google review
For 25 zloty you can go up to the 30th floor. The view is amazing, but after that you really cannot do anything else. At the top there is a cafeteria and souvenir shop.

An absolute "Must Do", when you visit Warsaw.
Ideally, you'll want to visit the iconic Palace of Culture on your first day and pay the 25z (£5) to visit the viewing platform on the 30th floor. This will give you a breathtaking view of the city and give you an idea of the lay of the land. The queue to the elevators can appear to be lengthy, but they move quickly.
Built in 1955, the palace itself is beautiful and quintessentially Soviet. The architecture is both impressive and imposing.
The palace grounds form part of a much larger attraction. The palace contains a museum of evolution and the grounds boast many beautiful statues, monuments and fountains within a spacious park. The palace is surrounded by other areas of interest such as the impressive Zlote shopping mall along with plenty of restaurants and other standalone shops.
The site is easily accessed from the subway (Świętokrzyska, Centrum and Rondo ONZ), and is about a 30-40 minute walk from the classic Old/New Town area.
Exploring the palace and its grounds will require several hours, so allow yourself plenty of time (at least a half day), to fully enjoy and appreciate this wonderful part of Warsaw.

For me this building is Warszawa. The first readily identifiable building when flying into Chopin. It was the biggest building rising from the destruction of the city during WW2. It is very much in the Stalinist style of architecture. It is usually well lit and colourful when it becomes dark. I love it and take far too many pictures.

Nice visits over Warsaw. However you have a big queue to go up and a big queue to go down. I could skip it if I was in a rush. Buy tickets in advance. There are two lines, one for the people that already bought the tickets and the other one for people who haven’t bought. Pay attention because when you arrive it looks like just a single line but it isn’t

Must visit place when you strolling around Warszaw city! So many part to be visited like the museum and the 360 degree point of view at the roof top. The cafe at the entrance also the theater!

Impressive building, viewing terrace
on the 30th floor with beautiful hall and ceiling, breathtaking views of Warsaw. Sadly, the weather was rainy and foggy, so I did not see much, but I will return another time. Not free (!?) Tickets should be bought to get there. Other floors are filled with offices. Good cafe and eatery on the first and ground floor.

This museum tells the story of Warsaw's 1944 uprising against Nazi occupation, during which some 15,000 Polish Home Army soldiers were killed and hundreds of thousands deported. The museum is extremely comprehensive, with displays on three levels covering the history of Warsaw, the uprising itself, and the aftermath.
I came here on a Monday and it was free admission. I really enjoyed the well curated exhibit that walked me through the history and impact of the uprising. I recommend getting the audio guide that allows you to hear the extra commentary about the various exhibits.
This museum is actually very impressive if you like world war II history or you want to have a better understanding of Polish people and their willingness to fight against evil during world war II. Highly recommend.

Interesting museum about the history of the Warsaw Rising. The museum explores the background and the future of the city and the rebellion. If one is not a huge history fan, the museum might get a bit boring after a few exhibits. We visited on Sunday, and the queue lasted around an hour.

This is a really awesome museum if you are interested in WWII, polish history, and military history. It is a pretty large place and took us a while to see everything. There are a lot of guns and artifacts from WWII, as well as a lot of personal items like letters and journals. Speaking polish would be nice, but there was plenty in English also, so I felt like I got a lot out of it still. Highly recommended!

What an amazing Museum. The story of those who came before us preserved over time lest we forget what the cost of freedom really means. If your in the city as a tourist this is a must see attraction and more importantly a history lesson for the world that we cannot remain silent when faced with evil.

Wonderful experience. So much information, historical facts documented. The museum had a lot of objects from the second world war, including telephones, motorcycles, some movie registrations. I would totally recommend this museum to be visited by everyone who goes in Warsaw. I would visit it again, if I will have the chance.

A great memorial dedicated to the human spirit of fighting against all odds. Very moving, detailed and systematic display of everything related to the uprising. The two movies are well made. Really liked the story telling divided over 4 floors. Good place for adults and kids. It's a traffic style of brave people like us who fought for something they believed and lost but told in a very engrossing way. It's quite crowded. Even on a weekday afternoon in August.

Very nice, bug and interesting museum. Important history of Warsaw Uprising August - October 1944 insurrection in Warsaw during World War II by which Poles unsuccessfully tried to oust the German army and seize control of the city before it was occupied by the advancing Soviet army.

This Museum is well organised, very interesting, well laid out, and has a lot to see. I was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed every moment inside. It is so well worth the entrance fee. It's a must when you are in Warsaw. We bought Metro tickets for the day for 3 pounds I think and moved all over town on the tram. Loved it. Warsaw Poland is definitely so European. I can't wait to come back again. There is too much to see for a long weekend. I also found Warsaw to be affordable when travelling on the Pound. I honestly never thought of Poland as a travel destination for myself, and now, I am excited to return some day. I loved my experience here. I felt safe, and there is order.
Come and visit Poland. You're welcome.

A nice museum with a lot of material to see. 30 minutes might be just enough if you are quick, but for some people even several hours might not bee too much. Depends how precisely you want to read through all the texts and such.

This museum was an in-depth dive into Poland and its uprising during the war!
I think it’s a crucial piece of history with details into specifics suffered in Poland and the incredible bravery mustered up by the people who refused to settle into the horrific position they were put in. It discusses the ghettos which was very interesting and something I personally didn’t know too much about
The museum layout was a little messy and the 3D fly through was a very interesting experience but was about a 40 minute wait for about a 7 minute film - wouldn’t recommend this
Otherwise the museum was a great one to visit and learn about Polands history! ✨

Great experience. Interesting museum, very informative and everything has an English translation. You need a few hours to fully enjoy all of the museum.
There's really big lockers for bags in the yard opposite the entrance. You need 5PLN coin to operate the lockers. I used a 50 euro cent coin which worked perfectly.
Free to visit on Mondays. I Highly recommend a visit

Must visit for anyone interested in Poland's WW2 history! It helps contextualize the country's difficult situation to a great extent. What I liked the most were the detailed descriptions from Hans Frank's diary of how the uprising was hurting the Nazis. If there's anything to improve it's making the visiting route clearer

I visited here on a Monday.
The signs are not clear on entry, as to where to get your tickets from🤦♂️🤷♂️
Being English, the ticket sign was written in Polish! In areas there was English written alongside Polish signs.
I had to get directions to find the ticket area. Oh its written as 'Kasa' a little building set on its own at the end of the courtyard👍
After all that, getting into the ticket office, I was surprised to find out it was free on a Monday! Result😀 so as I left the ticket office, I donated money into this huge glass collection box, outside.
There was no queue today, about 1.30pm.
There was no English tour guide available, so had to wander around and check out all the displays and read up on them.
It is another amazing part of Polish history! Solely based about The Warsaw Uprising.
There are so many areas based in here, all with written information or recorded vocal and filmed footage.
The struggles of the Polish people is truly upsetting, then the admiration and bravery of their Polish ancestors, fighting, sometimes an impossible fight.
The stories of support from other nations is commendable!
There is information here of the atrocities they went through, but the strength Polish men, women and children, even their Goats, supporting them with well need milk supplies😱
The stories of how they coped in the underground, then to try to fight against the strength of the Germans.
Living and moving through the drainage system, only to surface for well needed supplies!
The cinema room shows photography from an aircraft circling Warsaw after all the bombing! Truly upsetting😢 but admiration to all of the Polish people that tried to fight back!
Was nice to see the footage of Germans being captured and taken prisoner's after the war, some karma coming back to them, although the Polish were not barbaric like the Germans were.
You have to take several hours to take all the information in here at the Warsaw uprising museum.
I highly recommend coming here, just to learn what people have had to suffer and not to let it happen again.
Knowledge is power👍
I will have to go to the Tomb of the unknown Soldier again now, to pay my silent respects to all❤️

Great place to learn about the struggles and the resistance that took place during Natzi occupation in Warsaw. Obviously you go there to also pay respect and remember. It's a school kid age destination so you won't be there alone but it wasn't too crowded when we visited.

The exhibition is interesting and well executed, a lot of historical pieces and stories about the polish people during WWII.
I do think that the part of jews in the resistance against the Nazis during WWII should be told, as it was one of the greatest rebellions against the germans during the war.
More over, it is hard to look at the polish people as complete victims knowing that a lot of polish people cooperated with the germans in the mass murder of jews during the war.

I had an absolutely fantastic time at the Warsaw Uprising Museum. The attention to detail in the interior design is remarkable, truly capturing the essence of the era. I was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of information provided. I could spent an entire day engrossed in the exhibits, absorbing the stories and events that shaped the city's history.
Even though my visit was relatively short, I left with a profound sense of connection to the past. I'd strongly recommend allocating a good 2-3 hours to fully appreciate the experience. It's not just a museum visit – it's an journey that allows you to immerse yourself in the struggles, sacrifices, and triumphs of the people during that pivotal time.
The Warsaw Uprising Museum is an absolute must-visit, and I'm already planning to return. Whether you're a history buff or just curious about the past, this museum offers an exceptional opportunity to explore and learn. Don't miss out on this enriching and moving experience.

Unfortunately a great museum. Lot of interactive parts, with a well explained visit path, and the possibility to rent an audio guide for a more complete experience. Plan at least a few hours to completely experience the whole experience, as they also screen some movies and have a temporary exhibition on top of the standard museum that in itself is worth visiting when in town.
The POLIN Museum tells the story of the Jews in Poland from ancient times to the present day. The building is located on the site of Warsaw's former ghetto, which was home to thousands of Jews before World War II. The museum has a permanent exhibition space with multimedia displays, including reconstructed parts of historical synagogues and a Holocaust gallery.
Its permanent exposition is really thought through, every room of the exposition is original and somehow interactive. It describes history of Jewish community (mostly in Poland). But be prepared, that the exposition is really long and it can be exhausting... and then frustrating not being able to get much from the rest of the exposition. So i will definitely visit it once more when I am again in Warsaw. The temporary exposition on my visit was also wonderful (really interesting polish painter). And... also be prepared that there is safety control in the entrance.

The museum tells the story of Jews since its very beginning to the present.
It’s free and it’s for everyone (kids, adults, etc). I also recommend the audio guide.
To walk around the exhibition may take you an hour if you have no audio guide. If you do, from 2 to 3.
Once again, very clear, clean, interesting, attractive, interactive and amazing in every possible way.

Interesting and large exhibition. Tickets includes audio guide. It is particularly interesting if you don't know too much about history of Poland and Jews in Poland, as it does not start or even goes too much in-depth. Temporary exhibit was included in the regular ticket that we bought on the spot.
The building has impressive architecture, worth seeing.

The museum is big. Look for the uprising monument outside as the entrance is close by it. Not all of the guards at the entrance can speak English, so you should ask your questions specifically to avoid misunderstanding. Before the ticket counter and after the security check, you'll get the chance to leave your bags in deposits. You need a 2 zloty coin for it. There's a cloak deposit next to the ticket counter. The museum itself was super interesting and interactive. So you would want to spend a few hours here, at least 3-4 hours. They offer you a chance to borrow a portable stool you can sit on when you feel tired. It's comfortable to navigate the museum. They have all the facilities like lift, restaurant, toilets and souvenir shop. In front of the museum there's only bus stop but without a ticket machine. Alternatively you can walk to the big street, not too far. There you can take trams and buy tickets inside the tram (using credit cards).

Very interesting exposition which concentrates a little less on artefacts and a little more on telling the story of Polish Jewry and Jews in Poland. However, the museum is just huge; there is probably a little too much on early medieval and medieval Jewish history, so the average visitor (like me) arrives exhausted to the part on WW2. This is a pity.

So much information in a way that really got me emotional along the tour.

This is a must-see attraction in Warsaw. The museum is excellent with lots of great exhibits and plenty of information to absorb.
We walked the museum with the audio guide, which provided more than enough information without reading the text on the displays. The audio is location-based, so you can walk the museum at your own pace.
We didn't stop (a couple of breaks for toilets/refreshments are available), and we toured the museum in approximately 90 minutes.
Very informative and enjoyable, I highly recommend.

I was very disappointed. The museum is not so much a museum as a collection of audio visual displays. There were not many objects to see, only photos. There is so much wasted potential in this museum of the life of Jews in Poland and during the war. Small museum in the birth house of storied composer Frédéric Chopin surrounded by tranquil parkland.
Being a foreigner living in Poland, this was one of my favorite places to visit. It is beautiful, with inspiring landscapes that look like paintings, the snow mixed with the sun made our tour an unforgettable day in this place. It breathes art, history, nostalgia, romance and culture. Chopin, a great classical music that will never be forgotten.

The birthplace of Frederick Chopin is a small museum located in a very grand and lovely garden. The museum, which is Chopin’s original house, is quite small and doesn’t display much since the family did not live a long time in it. A lot of Chopin’s items are located in the Chopin Museum in Warsaw. The place itself was very nice, but getting here was quite difficult due to the lack of transportation in the town of Sochaczew (where the train station is) to Zelazowa Wola. Uber/Bolt are rare, so taxi is your best choice.

Few years ago renovation of the castle started and I have to say it was done very well. New building with multimedia room is good for children and people that want to know more about the place and city. The yard is nothing special but it sometimes change to a nice amphitheater when there are organized concerts there. There is also an hour long trip through both remaining towers of the castle that allows you to hear about history of its residents, see the whole city from the top or enjoy the legends that were born here.

My first ever visit in this castle and to my surprise it was really enjoyable, we had a guide that walked us though two of the towers and told the story of the castle and the town of Ciechanów, there were some kids in the group that seemed to be enjoying themselves, the guide made sure to keep them in focus. The tour took around one hour, the pricing was pretty low for the tour so not a wallet buster. Looking around there are visible works in progress in restoring this great piece of mazovian history.
Leon Weston — Google review
These well-restored castle ruins were once home to the Mazovian Dukes of old. Be sure to visit the towers, as the majority of the tour is to be found there, and limiting your tour to just the courtyard and the current museum exposition will mean missing out on the majority of the venue's content.

(Translated by Google) Some people don't even know that Olsztyn has... two monuments to Nicolaus Copernicus.
They can be honestly surprised 😀 when you take them to the other side of the castle - to the park between Zamkowa and Nowowiejski streets.
Especially since this bust is much older than the currently much more popular bench monument. And it has a very intriguing story.
The monument was unveiled in 1916, on the 400th anniversary of Copernicus' arrival in Olsztyn.
Its author was the Berlin sculptor Johannes Götz (1865-1934). It was the implementation of the decision of the Olsztyn City Council of September 15, 1913. The official legend had it that the originator of the idea was Emperor Wilhelm II. However, he probably simply supported the project with PLN 10,000. brands.
This is not the original location of the monument. Originally, the bust was located on the corner of the current street. Zamkowa and Okopowa (German: Schlossstraβe and Schanzenstraβe), next to the castle dyke, i.e. in a place we know well.
The inscription was also completely different - "Mikołaj Copernicus, administrator at the Olsztyn Castle 1516-1519, 1520-1521".
The whole thing was housed in a special chapel in the neo-Gothic style, which unfortunately has not survived to this day. The frieze with the inscription surrounding it was also unique, emphasizing the many talents of Nicolaus Copernicus:
"Astronomus, Medicus, Clericus."
Fortunately, the monument itself survived - it was moved in January 1945 - before the entry of the Red Army - to the castle, to the Copernicus hall.
It has stood in its current location since 1946.
With a new patriotic inscription:
"Defenders of the Olsztyn stronghold against the Teutonic invader. Compatriots are grateful to the great Pole Nicolaus Copernicus."

Pomnik został odsłonięty w 1916 roku, w 400-lecie przybycia Kopernika do Olsztyna.
Zamkowej i Okopowej (niem. Schlossstraβe i Schanzenstraβe), obok grobli zamkowej, czyli w dobrze znanym nam miejscu.
"Astronomus, Medicus, Clericus."
Szczęśliwie sam pomnik ocalał - został przeniesiony w styczniu 1945 roku - przed wejściem armii czerwonej - do zamku, do sali kopernikowskiej.
W obecnym miejscu stoi od 1946 roku.
Z nowym patriotycznym napisem:
"Obrońcy grodu olsztyńskiego przed najeźdźcą krzyżackim. Wielkiemu Polakowi Mikołajowi Kopernikowi wdzięczni rodacy."

One of the oldest monuments in the region, this 14th-century castle now serves as a cultural center.
Outstanding exhibitions. This is true gothic castle with the history of the Teutonic Knights and Napoleon Bonaparte. You can also see the cellars where there are exhibits for treating witches from the old days. However, this exhibition is for children from 12 years. Definitely worth to come. The only one thing which should be improved is the displays are only in polish language.

Compared to other castles this one offers a limited access to the building. There is a nice little museum, a contemporary art exhibit, a sourvenir store and a really nice library on a first floor. Napoleon briefly stayed at the castle. Other parts of the castle are closed to the tourists, not sure why.

Quite comprehensive museum focused on Copernicus. A bit traditional exhibitions, not that engaging, but interesting nonetheless, especially the first floor. The ground floor has a curious exhibit of coins/medals and paintings of Copernicus. An odd way to start the visit.

I can't say that it was breathtaking. There were some cool exhibits and Copernicus's life was explained in detail in historical context. What I saw was interesting but I expected more. However, it was worth the time. Point of interest: Mondays are free- entrance days.

Historical place and not overcrowded. In the cathedral you have Copernicus grave. In the castle itself you have planetarium. When you have a walk around the castle at some points you have really nice view on a lagoon.

Very interesting place but difficult to find entrance to. There is no signs on streets directing to this museum. As we were told, this area belongs to cathedral hence no other signs. Malbork is a charming town with a beautifully renovated railway station constructed of red bricks. The interior features coats of arms representing local areas, adding to its historical charm. The station is conveniently located about 10-15 minutes' walk from the impressive Malbork Castle. Visitors can make use of storage lockers at the station or opt for a free locker near the castle ticket office when visiting this stunning attraction.
A really calm town for anyone looking to getaway from the city life☺️
Zainab Mustapha — Google review
A very beautiful station, a bit dirty. They got a storage locker that you can put your stuff in. 2 big ones and 3 small ones with a cost. If you plan to visit the Malbork Castle, there is a free locker under the ticket office which is free but you will need a 2 zloty coin to use it but you will get it back when you return the key.
Tanan Suwannabhach — Google review
If you are coming to Malbork from say Gdansk by train you will arrive here. The station is constructed of red brick and is in great condition. The interior is many coats of arms near the ceiling of local areas. The station is about 10-15 minutes walk from the Castle and you take the route through the town.

Nice building of the railway station in Malbork. Everyting is clean and well-groomed. It took us about 45 minutes to get from the main train station of Gdansk to Malbork. And the center of the town is in 10 minutes by foot. The building made of red bricks is beautifully renovated.

Small stop if you’re coming from Gdańsk to visit Malbork Castle. Taxis are outside on the left, but ask for the rate to the Castle (15 PLN in Jan 18). Not easy getting a taxi back from the Castle but it’s a short 15 min walk.

Beautiful red brick station buildings, with extra bonus of heritage toilet block! Well worth 15 minutes for the lovely interiors in the booking hall, which have been recently renovated. Lots of history round here - imagine what this station saw in 1945-46! Lovely pub next door also.
Doug Neilson — Google review
Made for show-off, not for use. Fancy brickwork and shaped tiles for sidewalks and walkways, making pulling luggage a bad chore, big info screen that crashed with a Windows error dialog, sometime around midnight and nobody reset it until late afternoon, a single small segment of 8 or so lockers for luggage storage, permanently full, so forget about leaving luggage to see the Malbork castle when waiting for a train, a fancy square dominated by broken info screen kiosk, at least the lifts to/from platforms still work.
Malbork Castle is a prime tourist attraction in Malbork, Poland. This 14th-century Teutonic castle is home to a museum exhibiting medieval artifacts, paintings, and an impressive amber collection. The castle's construction began in the 13th century by the Teutonic Knights and served as their headquarters for almost 150 years. Its massive size symbolizes its significant history.
The largest brick Gothic castle in the world. And frankly speaking, it corresponds to its status 100%! I strongly recommend taking a tour with a tour guide, especially since his services are included in the ticket price. As of today (29.01.2022) the entrance ticket for one person costs 60 PLN. There is an opportunity to take a tour with a tour guide, or with an audio guide. The area of the castle is 16 hectares. Inside everything is beautiful, restored after the war. It is difficult to describe in words this beauty, you just need to come here and see everything. The tour time is 3 hours. Well, in everything else, you will be satisfied and impressed. Highly recommend! :)

Beautiful place. I always wanted to go there and I wasn't disappointed. Many exhibition. Visiting with the guide (paid extra) or free audio guides. Audio guides have different options and choices of visiting trails (longer or shorter). We picked kids trail to keep our children interested. I'd like to go back there and see the castle again with the guide.

Amazing castle to visit. Would really recommend buying the tickets online beforehand as the lines for the tickets get quite long. That being said it is an amazing castle and they have audio guides in several different languages including English, Polish, German, Lithuanian and more! The audio guides are excellent, the whole tour takes around 3 hours.
Taja Zuozait? — Google review
Great place to visit. We took the 3,5 h tour with family discount. We chose to buy our tickets at the ticket machine but would by tickets online next time, because you have to wait a little time. You mustn’t take the tour with the guide, even though it seems to be very good. But we chose to go alone because it was the right choice for us with small children. Wasn’t that easy with a stroller but you can leave it if you want in the yard of the castle. We recommend the extra trip on the top of the tower for 12 zloty. You will have a decent view. The audio guide is very informative. All together it’s a beautiful castle. The restaurant next to the riverside is also very nice.

Malbork Castle is an extraordinary historical marvel that I had the pleasure of visiting.
Before visiting, I did some research on the history of the Teutonic Knights, and I must emphasize the importance of doing so. Understanding their role in medieval Europe and their connection to the castle greatly enriched my experience. The layers of history came to life as I explored the impressive halls, courtyards, and fortifications.
The scale and grandeur of Malbork Castle are truly jaw-dropping. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking a memorable cultural experience, Malbork Castle is a must-visit.

Wonderfully restored and maintained medieval castle and abbey. You can wander the grounds or follow an audio guide. The passages are not always well marked, but usually there is an attendant to direct you. Plan on spending 3 to 4 hours to view all the exhibits and rooms.

Best castle I have ever visited! We only visited the outside but it’s really cool exploring at your own place the courtyards and passages. The audio guide is extremely helpful is very easy to follow making sure you don’t miss a thing.

Audio tour was fantastic. I can’t recommend this enough, and we got there 5-10 mins before opening to ensure we got in before the crowds.
This place can get very busy in between bus loads of school children and tourists sightseeing what is still impressive but back in the medieval ages - truly amazing.
T HW44 — Google review
Best castle visit I have ever experienced. The audio guide is excellent and the castle is just straight out of a fairy tale. Allow at least three hours and perhaps four to squeeze in a couple of breaks. The formerly renowned restaurant called “Gothic” no longer exists. There is another newer restaurant inside but we did not try it. Excellent day trip from Gdansk! Easily reachable by a 50 min train ride from Gdansk central station.
Ignacio V. P?rez Mart?nez — Google review
This is by far the best castle I've visited. Huge and cinematic, it makes you feel a hero of some medieval movie. The interior is simply astonishing, and although it was almost entirely restored after WW2, it feels quite authentic.
I must mention the audio excursion that comes with the tickets. A highly professional narrative of the speaker is subtly spiced with audio effects depending on the room or space being currently observed by the traveller.
All the necessary utilities and infrastructure are available on the site. Parking is paid, around 6$ or something per day.

It's an impressive castle full of history. The biggest we have visited. The castle is enormous and well preserved. The audio guide was excellent to learn about its history.

Amazing Teutonic/medieval castle with a lot of history. It takes a while just to do the main route, so it’s best to block the whole day out to visit the castle. There are also night tours and other routes, but it’s best to start with the main/castle route. I would definitely recommend coming here!

A really HUGE castle and allow at least 3 hours for a visit, and 4 hours if it is busy. The audio guide is excellent and very much to be recommended if you want to avoid the crowds following the tour guides. I would certainly book ahead during the high season, but it's not necessary out of season, although visit as early in the day as possible as it still gets very crowded. The castle itself is superb, and new exhibitions are being added all of the time. Due to the number of staircases, many parts of the castle are currently inaccessible for wheelchair users, or the less able. Altogether a fantastic (though tiring) experience, and one that we will do again.

What an amazing place! Get an audio tour and take it at your own pace. In addition to the castle structure itself (which is huge and interesting), within the castle are collections that would make, on their own, fantastic museum collections. Be ready to spend five hours or so. Bring a lunch and take a break in the courtyard.

This has to be one of the most impressive historical sites in all of Poland. The castle itself has been mainted very well and is actively being looked after although it would be nice if their were a few more furnished rooms, but the ones that were were certainly very impressive. Their were two options on how to experience the castle, a guide, and an audio guide, which has an impressive amount of languages, it even had Lithuanian so I didn't have to translate for my mom. The guide lasted about 3 hours and took us through a variety of exhibitions. Some were art installations, and others showed historical trinkets. All in all, I highly recommend visiting this place!

Malbork Castle is located less than an hour drive southeast from Gdansk. It is the biggest brick castle in the world, built by Teutonic knights in 13c onwards. Over the centuries it was enlarged becoming a fortress-town. It consists of 3 castles within its huge and long walls - High Castle (the first one with the Cathedral), Middle and Lower Castle.
Beware, on Mondays the Castle is open till 4PM and entry is FREE (with audio guide included), BUT ONLY the exterior - you wont be able to enter any buildings inside it.
We didn't know that and had no option to reschedule our visit as it was our last day in Poland. Despite that, we enjoyed our tour which lasted almost two hours with amazing GPS audio guide telling interesting stories and guiding you around

Preserved Nazi German concentration camp with WWII exhibits, artifact displays & a large archives.
It's very strange to give this place 5 stars. I give the 5 star review because off our tour Guides knowledge and the way he told the story of Stutthof. The history of Stutthof is just barbaric. You can't believe this ever happened. The way the Germans treated human life is just unbelievable. We strongly recommend every human being to have a guided tour at Stutthof, just to learn the history of WWII. We have to thank Mr.Shuttle for a interesting trip and additional knowledge of the Gdansk area and history.

I am not sure if it was 'lucky' per se, but when I visited Stuffhof it was getting dark, it was very cold and covered in snow. All of this added to the atmosphere of the place which is quite cold and eerie to say the least.
When you park up (Fee is 15PLN) you are free to roam the site and visit at your own pace. I did not see anyone else there, no staff or public so I had the whole place to myself.
Information boards are in Polish and in English and there are plenty around the site detailing which areas are which, as well as giving a further look into what happened.
An absolute must for anyone interested in history; we all know it happened but visiting an actual site gave a much deeper sense of it all.

What a sobering place. It feels insensitive to say that I had a great time. I had a tour by Thomas, an English speaking tour guide: I highly recommend having an expert show you around to explain the history behind this tragic place. It's the first time I've been to Poland, and to a concentration camp. We really must never forget the atrocities that happened at places like this. The juxtaposition between the rusty barbwire and watch towers seen alongside the natural beauty of the camps surroundings are haunting.

The history of this place is very upsetting, however I believe we should remember the atrocities that the n*zis committed. My experience was great. The guide explained everything very well, and the signs were also translated. I'd recommend this place only for audiences that aren't easily disturbed.

I feel weird rating a place like this with its history. It is a simple camp but with great detail and information. I recommend the movie(available in English) and learn more about the history of the camp as well as the people who worked there. I also recommend the audio guide(available in many languages)as you learn more than just the signs(in English as well). Unfortunately, if you want to buy any books or souvenirs you must buy them in the beginning when you buy your tickets unless you want to walk back to the front of the camp. The entrance and exit are in 2 different locations. I wish I would've have known that before I went through.

I found this museum profoundly moving. The information I received about the existence and daily horrors for inmates, whose only crime was their personal circumstances, has changed my perception of life and what I consider to be challenges. In my view everyone should visit such a camp and I believe that they will come out a changed person with more compassion for others and better appreciation of life and freedom .

A very impressive historical place to be and to see. It is full of memories and well preserved. The surroundings are quite beautiful especially during the autumn. The museum has free entrance but you have to pay for parking. Definitely worth the trip.

This was the first concentration camp built outside of Germany and the last one to be liberated. Worth a visit if you are visiting Gdańsk, you can get here with the 870 from Dworzec Autobusowy, a little more than an hour travel. Entrance to the camp is free of charge as of 10.06.2023.

Heart-rending and very sad, eerie feeling when visiting. Makes one very grateful that we won WW2 were not under Nazi rule

Free entry. Clean toilets. Bus transport from Gdansk takes about an hour. Bus payment in cash. This was a truly arresting place and experience. In concentration camps, human evil and history become concrete. Peace to the souls of all Holocaust victims.

A guide is 80 EUR, highly recommended, call and book from the homepage. Place is quiet, calm which makes it especially chilling when you know what's been going on at this place.

If you have the time you must see this place, if you don't, make time. The camp it a chilling reminder of what happened to citizens and civilians during WWII. It is really well presented and a good portion of the camp is still left standing.
The exhibits and text are in English about 40% of the time but it has a lot of visuals. You won't need a guide if you don't want one.

It is worth a visit if you are in Gdansk. They had an exposition with a bunch of different stories from actual inmates and their fates.

Very underadvertised and clearly not visited nearly as often as Auschwitz but no less worth visiting. An impressive museum and well maintained. Only thing I wish would be changed is that they offered more books in English at their gift shop. And that the English versions weren't more than double the cost of the Polish editions
Svetlogorsk, a charming coastal resort town and the administrative center of Svetlogorsky District in Russia, is nestled on the Baltic Sea coast. With a population of around 16,000 residents, this picturesque destination offers stunning silver birch woodlands and scenic pathways. The town's location on the Sambia Peninsula provides visitors with a tranquil atmosphere and beautiful natural landscapes to explore.
