Tapestries & weapons, plus views from a stone watchtower, in a 12th-century castle-turned-museum.
Beautiful castle, we were able to visit only tower, it was nice view from the top of the tower. Unfortunately, we were not able to buy combined ticket for some reason and also all the information on the stands in tower was only in Polish.
Darja Zb — Google review
A nice castle with an interesting museum to visit. The chapel with its frescos was the most impressive, in my opinion. The museum has both temporary and permanent exhibitions. There are lots of paintings, icons, furniture and coins. There is a place to leave your jackets and bags (if needed). There also elevators, so it will be handy for people with special needs. The tower has lots of steps, so take that into consideration when visiting. The top of the tower provides pretty good view of the city. The only thing missing is a cafe in the castle yard for summer time :)

Unforgettable experience for art lovers. Kobieta w podrozy - beautiful exhibition about Tamara Łempicka and art deco. Beautifully presented along with many other artists of that period. Zamek offers exhibitions about Lublin artists in communism and their work, famous Polish painters such as Witkacy, Malczewski, Kossak and Matejko. Worth to see many other exhibits about religious artifacts and Polish folklore, Lublin's architecture, design and many many more. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly.
Benia Szewczyk — Google review
Very nice place to teach kids the history of the area and how people lived in the past. It was good for us as most posters and signs were in Polish and English so easier for us to read and understand. The younger staff were very friendly and showd interest in the kids, thanks for that. One point I would warn others about is if you are foreign like we were don't speak your foreign language too loud as the more elderly staff members will follow you diligently, presumably to make sure you don't touch break or steal anything. Made us a bit uncomfortable but we ignored them for the lost part so was otherwise enjoyable.
adrian pynappels — Google review
The staff is appalling. I never seen in my life it so bad. I bought a ticket at cashier. She said directions how to proceed further, but I was distracted by putting away my ticket and card. But she said it in good English. I said "could you repeat please". And you won't gonna believe it, but she said "I don't speak English". I understand when people don't speak, but she clearly gave me directions once but refused to repeat. Next the guard did only a bit better, blocking me entrance and explaining that coats and backpacks not allowed. Didn't like his tone or attitude either. However, after being made angry I might be biased towards guard. P.S. I'm European and English is not my language
Povilas Panavas — Google review
Extremely helpful service and beautiful buildings. If you are a visitor, this place is a must-see. The tour is very extensive, and the view of Lublin city from the tower is the best you can get. Fully recommend
maga2024 — Google review
To be honest, there’s nothing spectacular or special with castle since there is no such a place left called castle. Only 1-2 pieces of a castle. Still may worth to have a look. No need to go up to tower or museum, believe me.
Tolga — Google review
A great place to visit in Lublin, with a lot to tell. The only negative is that the posters are in Polish which makes it difficult to tell the story to the world, they could put them in English as well. Admission is free, you pay only to enter to the tower. The place is well maintained and was rebuilt with help of the European Union.

The State Museum of Majdanek is a memorial museum located on the site of a WWII concentration camp. It houses buildings, photographs, and personal effects from that era. The exhibits are available in English as well and offer an educational experience about the atrocities committed during that time. It takes around four hours to visit the entire museum, so it's best to plan for a sunny day as it can get cold and windy in winters.
What an experience the place is really well conserved and it gives you chills while you there definetly worth visiting
Florin Fantastic — Google review
A place that everyone must visit. Everyone has to learn about the things people suffered, just because they were different.
Sotiris Akrivos — Google review
A sad place but a fundamental visit to understand more about this dark moment of our history. The museum is very well preserved and organized. The entrance is free but I would recommend to buy something from the bookstore, to contribute with the conservation. If possible, go on a weekday by morning, it opens 9am and the visit will be not crowded, so you can explore everything in your pace.
Ricardo Ribeiro — Google review
Chilling place with extensive reconstructions, exhibitions and preserved artifacts. All information available in at least Polish and English.
Pedro Nuno Pacheco — Google review
Ot was very good, except to walk alot, You see the bunks ,gas chamber, ovens and a monument of all the ashes
Jeff Erdman — Google review
Not one of the well known camps. It was one of the biggest. I was surprised at how big it was. Very sad to see what happened here. They have preserves this site very well It is worth seeing but you will need a couple of hours to get round it
Robert van't Wout — Google review
All the museums and exhibitions were available in English also so it was a positive point. Although very sad, this place taught me a lot about those concentration camps. It almost takes 4 hours to visit the whole museum and try to visit it in a rather sunny day! It gets cold and windy in winter days.
Pegah T — Google review
It's not an easy place to visit, but it's a must for everyone to visit the concentration and extermination camps of the holocaust, it's a lesson in life how cruel people can be to each other
Moise Benjamin — Google review
Very emotional place. I would recommend it for sure
Magdalena Sobolewska — Google review
How do you rate five star such a place? It was good to learn about the history that I've found difficult to understand or stomach. It was enlightening walking the grounds, reading quotes from people who experienced such inhuman atrocities. I couldn't help but reflect with current experiences in today's world. The visit was and is still thought-provoking. It is a good thing this history has not been hidden. Perhaps that will help us shape our world differently when we can understand what human beings are capable of.
Janet Chimwayange — Google review
This is a eye watering place to visit due to the horrendous reasons behind it being there. We entered through the main gate and into the reception, we were then shown on a map whats what and how far it it’s to walk round it , I believe it was 4.6km . Hard to imagine just how hard it must have been but the whole place gives you somewhat of a view into the conditions . The stories you read on the wall again make your heart miss a beat , very very sad place to visit but a must if history and a real look into it is on your to do list.
John-Anthony Fletcher — Google review
Very humbleing. Similar layout to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Matt Dokupil — Google review
Very moving place to visit. Nevertheless the place is well looked after and clean, in the customer centre, reading materials can be purchased in many languages, there's also loads of parking which is very cheap. Everything is displayed where it need to be and sometimes in multiple languages. I've managed to attach myself to a tour, and the guide explained everything in detail, took us about 3hrs. The middle museum holds artefacts found on the grounds, as well as letters, documents, furniture, equipment, and statues made by prisoners. The remembererance monument is one of the biggest I've seen and really makes an impact. At the end crematorium, human ashes pile and executions trenches can also be visited. Definitely worth a visit so that one human can know what another is capable of...
Jarek Pawlikowski — Google review
Highly recommend. We have to remember about History like that. Museum is free, only 5 zł for parking spot. There is an opportunity of drive between main point locations in death camp.
Bartłomiej Klasa — Google review
It's horrible, but something everyone should experience. Very informative, personal, and human in terms of the quality of the information given—and of course nothing compares to seeing the places where it happened first hand. The mausoleum memorial is also beautiful in its own way.

The Lublin Village Open Air Museum is an attractive and environmentally significant attraction in Pioland that offers insights into the history and culture of rural villages from past eras. The lush grounds feature beautiful wooden structures that represent old Poland, providing visitors with a glimpse into traditional village life. There is an entrance fee, but it's reasonably priced considering the knowledge one can gain.
It is a nice place to visit for only one time.

This place was beautiful and the workers really know so much about how things worked before. My wife and I went there with our child and a man walked with us the whole time and answered all my curious questions. This made me appreciate Poland more and I'm thankful this place exists.

That’s a really nice place to visit! You’ll see a lot of old houses from different regions and even different times! On top of that there are also churches (one is open for services), a windmill and even some places to have food and drinks. We haven’t visited karczma, but next time we will. All buildings and the surrounding territory are taken care of well. You see flowers everywhere, also fields with wheat, gardens, etc. It was quite nice to see some horses, a goat, ducks, geese and chickens! I’m sure kids will especially enjoy them. Be sure to wear comfy shoes as you’ll be walking on narrow paths, dirt roads and all kinds of pavement! In my opinion if you come with people who have special needs you should consider the types of pavement and going up and down in some parts of the open air museum, so take this into consideration before visiting. All in all, it was a pleasant experience!

It takes time to see everything, so you better have that in mind in advance. If you smoke, have in mind that smoking is forbidden, so you should be ready to survive without a cigarette for 2-3 hours. There is definitely what to see, so I recommend going there.

This is one of amazing place in Pioland. Very attractive and environmentally important place. We can get to know very important knowledge of villages which were in past era. You can see there very beautiful background and beautiful wooden buildings belongs to old Poland. There is a entrance fee for one person, but it is very reasonable price for the things which you can learn. Absolutely marvelous place and I like to go there again and participate some rural ceremonies which they do. If you are a tourist, one of the best place you need to see.

The park itself is quite interesting to see. However, the reason why I am only giving one star, is the way they keep animals. Many of them haven't got enough living space, they're kept on a chain that's only 2 metres long. Some of them even haven't got a place to stand in the shadow nor a place to drink fresh water. The park really should definately make some changes.
Mitchel K. — Google review
Must visit place in Lublin, apart from old farm buildings and little town square with shops from the past there are plenty of animals and beautiful scenery. We spent there good few hours and it was worth every minute. Shame the restaurant was not opened as we would loved to have coffee in the amazing scenery. The place is easily accessible by local bus from city centre.

Such a beautiful place. We went the weekend of November 1st and were one of the only ones there. Admission was discounted from 12pln to 6pln for this weekend, maybe all of Nov? Map available for free at the entrance is helpful to make sure you see everything. Of course, lots of walking. The property is very large so allow for 1-2hours based on your walking speed. We spent maybe 1.5hours as we took many photos.

It’s a nice mall just behind and across from the old town. Brands you’d expect. Check out the graffiti by the old town path entrance dedicated to the history of the Jewish old town, which was once nearby. That’s the major cultural point of interest.

Would say this place is nice. But apparently video recording is not allowed. Kinda stinks like when your just recording for fun. The recording was just to show my wife food and your security guard who doesn’t even understand the concept of sharing food items by a small video.

It's been some time since my last visit there. It's a waist of time to go there. Even a parking is not something which could attract me there because the rules of parking are not obvious enough to understand them and try to learn them is another waist of time. Last time being there I tried to withdraw money from ATM. BLIK did not work because of poor reception. I commit to not making crowds there by not attending that facility.

I highly recommend the K&K Apartments - 314 Old Town hotel, situated in Lublin's charming Old Town. This well-equipped and cozy apartment is located in the heart of the city, providing a peaceful and clean environment. The central location allows easy access to both the castle and Rynek (Market Square), making it an ideal choice for exploring Lublin.

(Translated by Google) The apartment is cozy, tastefully decorated and well-equipped, and that's all it has to offer. Very cold and dark, no heaters, and increasing the temperature in the room is only possible by calling the owner. Unfortunately, even after the owner increased the temperature, the bathroom was very, very cold. Hot water in limited quantities. The breakfast that is offered "in the package" is simply a few items in the fridge. If someone has any food intolerances, they don't really have much choice. For breakfast, we simply went to a restaurant. When I remember the weekend in this apartment, only one thought comes to mind - cold and dark.

Munchies Lublin is a unique establishment that offers fast food with an uncompromising focus on quality. This vibrant spot, founded by a group of avid travelers who wanted to share their experiences, was born out of their dissatisfaction with high-end dining. Munchies specializes in street food-inspired dishes, providing guests with a diverse and flavorful menu. Despite its limited selection, each item is exceptionally tasty as they are prepared using slow-food techniques but served quickly.
I have never been to the restaurant but I have ordered delivery. The food is actually great for cravings and very tasty. The burgers and Fries are Good But the Korean Chicken… WOW! I got a poutine pulled pork which was decent but expensive, as was the lemonade I bought too. The poutine was surprisingly not hot, it was just warm, there was a distinct lack of gravy and perhaps it was too busy with the tomatoes. If I was ever in Lublin again I'd probably give them another try just because their online pics look so much better than what I tasted. Also, some outdoor tables would've been a nice option but alas.

Mandragora żydowska restauracja is an Eastern European Jewish restaurant located in Lublin. It serves delicious food that is hard to find in Poland. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and welcoming, which makes it a great place to enjoy some of the best cuisine from Europe. Some of the dishes you cannot miss include fish, soups, meat dishes and desserts. The restaurant offers table service or you can takeout your meal.
Very good food and pleasant, helpful crew. I can recommend this place for everyone who wants a break from pizzas and burgers and try some Jewish food. I love livers and here are just delicious. I also tried a duck - also great but too big for me - next time I will ask for half of the portion.

A Delightful Fusion of Tradition and Comfort at Mandragora Upon my last visit to Lublin, a delightful dining experience awaited at Mandragora, a Jewish restaurant that effortlessly encapsulates the rich culinary heritage of Jewish cuisine. Nestled in the heart of the city, Mandragora presents a charming terrace setting that invites diners to relax and savor their meals amidst a serene backdrop. The menu, a tapestry of traditional Jewish staples, offers an array of choices from succulent fish dishes to hearty soups, and satisfying meat platters to indulgent desserts. Each dish, lovingly prepared, seems to tell its own story of cultural history and culinary artistry. The flavors are authentic, bold, and rendered with a homely touch that resonates with comfort food at its finest. Service at Mandragora is commendable, with staff exhibiting both warmth and professionalism, reflecting the establishment’s commitment to a welcoming dining experience. The option for kerbside pickup and no-contact delivery is a testament to their adaptability and consideration for diverse customer needs, especially in these times. With a 4.6-star rating from over 4,000 reviews, my sentiments align with the majority, recognizing Mandragora as a culinary jewel in Lublin. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, a meal here is more than just dining — it’s a cultural immersion that leaves you with a sense of connection to Jewish heritage and a gratifying culinary memory. I eagerly look forward to my next visit.

The Lublin Kardamon restaurant is a sophisticated establishment with an inviting atmosphere. The menu features well-cooked food and impeccable customer service. The restaurant itself is a classy place to go, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.
What a great little place across from the Grand Lublin Hotel. Tastefully decorated with proper flatware and linen this is a warm and inviting space. Our server Daria is a real darling and knowledgeable about the food and wine on offer. After some so so meals in Zamosc we were very happy sit down to a couple of back to back lunches that really made our stay in Lublin special. The perch ( sandaz) was pefectly cooked, the duck pirogi delicious and the venison lovely..The roast duck I had on our second lunch was a BIG portion of bird that ate beautifully with the nice Primitivo Daria suggested. Sadly my wife thought that the catfish wasn't as nice as the perch: a bit over sauced and lacking the nice skin crunch of the sandaz she enjoyed so much the day before... If you want to splurge order a bottle of the La Trucha albariño for something really special: Especially on a hot summers day...... For dessert the raspberry tiramisu was out of this world: The best we have ever eaten... we thought much better than the traditional chocolate standard..... We will certainly be back the next tie we are in town and highly recommend !

I found The place by simple coincidence. After checking the menu I decided to try it out. I walked in straight from the street and got a table. The waitresses was there straight away hanging my jacket and presenting the manu. I have chosen traditional beer tartare, Seafood soup, lamb and cheese cake as a desert. What a choice it was. Everything spot on fresh and delicious. All dishes served one after another with no excessive waiting time in between. I didn’t asked waitress name but if your are there any time around February 2024 be sure you will be really looked after. Well done Kardamon. I will be visiting your place anytime I am in Lublin again. Pleasant and cosy place to dine. All my best wishes to all staff. Well done.

Nice cosy place, within walking distance from old town. Price is very correct, food very decent and service was very good. The only bottle of wine I ordered was not available. The one which was available was good enough. Good call. Cons: why the hell chefs need to put truffle everywhere? The beef carpaccio was tasting...truffle. the mash potatoes was tasting...truffle. My wife had a dish which was too pepper according her, despite her putting too much pepper usually.

Probably the best place in Lublin so far 👍🏻😊... VERY friendly staff and the highest service-levels (taking coat, pouring wine etc.).. excellent english. Very extensive wine-card with quite a bit to choose from. We were offered different wine tastings before choosing. Had VERY good carpaccio as a starter. Tenderloin as main course, also good. Cheesecake for dessert 👍🏻 Beautiful atmosphere and place. You probably need to reserve a table 😊

Tasty food, a bit expensive for Lublin but served well and portions are decent (as opposed to other reviews).

First of all, the service was the best part of our visit. Great suggestions and very on point. The venue lacks charisma, but is clean and has a good vibe. Good vine selection, appetizers (tatar!) were delicious. As for the main meals, there's some room for improvement (duck was undercooked), but has a great potential.

Chapter One by Piotr Kwiatosz, located at Rynek 14 and fb.com/chapteronebypiotrkwiatosz, is a high-end dining establishment that primarily operates on weekends. This elegant restaurant offers a unique twist on local cuisine within an intimate chamber with arched ceilings. For a more relaxed atmosphere, diners can visit 16 Stolow at Rynek 16 (16stolow.
Very nice restaurant with elegantly presented dishes. Menu is intriguing but maybe not wildly interesting. I lacked the wow effect a bit. Don't know, maybe was expecting a touch more... Still, value for what you get is excellent, staff is extremely friendly, Polish choice of red wine very pleasant. Interior seems more cosy than the exterior. I would certainly come back here again...

I was so excited when I went there. And yes, dishes were delicious and looked good. But not everything was as good as I would expect. The crew was pleasant and really tried to do their best but they were not trained. They were not able to provide details about wines they have in menu. As the card is not overcrowded, the owner of the place should become true leader and develop the team in the way they satisfy demanding clients. I understand that whole industry had hard times but I guess some people will demand more from the top-notch restaurant. I was served by 2 waiters and one was not aware what I ordered with another one. So again, a bit lack of experience and coordination. The last disadvantage - I went there to taste something new. I expected testing menu promoted on the restaurant website. Unfortunately, it was not available and I heard that „maybe it will return in September”. Taking into account it is one of more expensive restaurants in Lublin, I felt a bit disappointed. Despite many times I go back to restaurants to taste more positions from the menu, I have mixed feelings about the Chapter One. I expected something special, charming, top-notch food and service. And yes, I got delicious food but wasn’t able to order what I went for, the crew was pleasant but not prepared for more demanding clients. For premium price I expect premium service and atmosphere. Here I didn’t get it.

Bold, gutsy cooking with local ingredients. Great wine pairings, interesting combinations of flavours (mushroom soup with chocolate, beetroot sorbet, spruce oil). Competent waiting staff that spoke good English. We'll return!

Tasting menu. I often say that if one wants to be truly impressed with a restaurant, they need to go through the vegan tasting menu. In Lublin I wouldn't trust many restaurant with vegan food, but in Chapter One I had hope and they didn't disappoint! Brilliant combinations, taste pairing. Two of my favourite dishes were an appetizer of Portobello mushroom with teriyaki sauce, kale, red pepper - genius taste pairing, to me as a non-vegan resembled barbequed pork ribs; another one from the main course - Oyster mushroom on sauerkraut with tomato sauce: to put it simply - impressive! That sauerkraut deserves applauses Another thing to mention is wine pairing. Professionally picked wines paired perfect with each dish accordingly. A nice show of a wide wine collection Last but not least, pleasant service with fluent English and great knowledge of wines, helpful throughout the night, and very attentive Thank you!

Again a place where we miss that google offers ZERO points. The waitress was "fighting" with the bottle of champagne (probably never opened one before) and no tasting sip offered. Same with the wine afterwards: no tasting sip. She just filled the glasses. The starters arrived more or less together. Taste: average. And the Beef Tartare was minced and not cut - as it should be. Here they could do significantly better. But then the total mess started: one main dish arrived - dry veal (yes dry like dry and not like dry aged...). About 30 (!) minutes later two more main dishes arrived. One more veal (a little bit less dry) and one beef filet steak. They totally forgot about the main dish for one person! We asked what would be the fastest and waited for about another 20 minutes until a Beef Tartare arrived. We still were in "rather" good moods and wanted to give them a chance with the desserts, but the waitress informed us that we have to wait for at least 30 minutes because the kitchen is now very busy now. Indeed - in the meantime 4 (sic: FOUR) more walk-ins arrived. We paid and left. To cap it all: two days after the reserved date - when we also visited the place (we made a written reservation including time AND date) they called and told us that they are waiting as we made a reservation for today. And I was naive and thought that they called to apologise for their service.... Never again!

Fabulous 7 course tasting menu. Enjoyed a lunch time graduation celebration with 12 people. The food was spectacular and the service was beyond reproach. Each course was served with a brief description. The presentation was beautiful- colors, plates, use of technology and elements all brought together to enhance and highlight the food. Would highly recommend. On par with any Michelin, Zagat, Diamond, rating throughout the world. A MUST VISIT. Thank you for making our celebration so memorable.

Best Mexican food (and I've tried nearly all of them) this end of the planet. Definitely order a spicy mango margarita, and everything on the menu I've had (which is nearly all of it) has been amazing.... I eat here nearly daily when I'm in town, highly recommend it. Only down side is in winter there is less space since it's too cold to sit outside, can't blame them for the weather

I love traveling abroad and trying another take on another's cuisine. Queso was not only delicious and authentic but the service and atmosphere were wonderful. I highly recommend El Compadre tacos and some Coronas outside in the courtyard.

Amazing Mexican food! Super fresh ingredients, the quality of the food and the taste is just incredible. Truly hidden gem in Lublin, do get a cocktail, they’re bomb.

Used to be much better. They changed the tortilla and it was falling apart. They once had great burritos, especially for Poland, but not anymore. It’s a shame.

Wow! I never give 5 star reviews but being born in California (close to Mexico) I have never found something like this in my 13 years living in Europe. The tacos are amazing, there is so much color, variety, spices and the salsas are delicious as well. Bonus: I am vegan, the vegan options are unbelievable! This is now my favorite restaurant in Lublin, I wish more vegans and vegetarians know about Queso.

The best Mexican food in Lublin. Service is not very good and very slow, so the experience is usually pretty bad, but the food compensates for that. 🌯

The chef of this place, METIN, is a true professional. I have tried various restaurants in Lublin for 9 months, this one is the best. The portions are very satisfying, the quality of the ingredients is good.
