Vintage caravans, motorhomes & cars line this contemporary mobile home museum, plus a restaurant.
It is an amazing experience in a place where one can find a lot of information about the history of caravans and campers in Germany and even more. There you can see the newest Hymer camper that is very impressive. The exhibits are interesting and enchanting. You can get an iPod with explanations in English. I enjoyed every minute and we spent there more than two hours. Price is 11 euros per person but there are discounts and for journalists is free of charge. There are also very nice souvenirs at shop.

What a fantastic place. First as we are in a Mobile Home we could stay on site overnight.
We went into the museum when it opened at 10am, the gentleman on the counter spoke english and showed us how to download the app so we could check out all the displays in English.
Once inside ‘wow’ amazing displays and set ups, showing the history of caravanning and motorhoming.
So glad we made the effort to see this museum.
For those with children there are also areas to keep children occupied and I can imagine for hours.

Very interesting place to visit if you are near Munich and are into leisure vehicles and their evolution. You cannot bring dogs inside but they would mind them for you at the reception if well behaved. The food was also very nice (try the lemonade)

Fantastic museum showing the history of Caravanning and motor homing.
Gave knocked off a star, because the disabled parking spaces and no ramp for wheelchair nearby. Only steps, so had to walk the roadway around to the entrance.

Good selection of caravans from the past, set out in themed areas. Was given an iPod for translation of display panels, but gave on it after first themed area.
Thrilling Alpine roller coaster twisting & zigzagging down a forested mountainside.
A bit of wait if you come on a weekend in the afternoon, so be prepared. They have good playground facilities for children and some place to eat and drink so the wait is not so tortuous.
The coaster itself if absolutely worth the wait tho. It's super long (over 5 min, we timed it), and can get quite fast. Great views ofc. Highly recommend.
Joanna Ji — Google review
This is a tourist trap, we were passing by in the afternoon in high season, I just saw the coaster and thought that would be a cool thing to do for a quick stop... Well, in this place it seems there are no such things as a >quick< stop! We bought the tickets which I already thought were a bit expensive for a coaster, but once we arrived at the top we saw that there were at least 100, maybe even a 150 people waiting in line! We queued up for just 5 minutes but the line didn't even move, so I was looking at the frequency that they were sending off the carts and estimated that we would have to wait at least an hour, maybe 2 for it to be our turn... So we took the lift back down again, what a waste of money! We were never informed about the crazy waiting times at the ticket office... At least the view was okay.

Super fun experience. Restaurant and large park for kids at the top of the lift. Coaster was a very cool experience!

Super clean and beautiful. There’s some good restaurants around town. The waterfowl are very cute and friendly, they’ll come up to you. The water was swimmable and crystal clear.

Nice place for trekking or can go up hill by cable car.. On the top, there are zip lining activities.. You can come down by Rollercoaster.
Rhea Sahana — Google review
Bergwelt is a fun place to take the whole family. There's a huge playground for the little kids, and an alpine sled ride as well as zip lines for bigger kids (and parents). You can get food and drinks at a few different locations (one much higher up the mountain, requiring a hike), and the views are gorgeous all around. Truly gorgeous.
You can hike up from road level, if you like (and have the extra hour+), or you can take a scenic ski chair lift ride up, which is what we did.
After you are all done, you can walk down and get some really great ice cream at the bottom. The "honey melon" gelato was to die for, and totally changed my view on fruit flavored gelatos. The chocolate was great, too. Yum.
We spent an excellent day here, and I really hope to get back next time we visit the Allgäu.
Michael Oryl — Google review
A fun complex of several different recreational activities.
A chair lift up to the main activity center opens up to a large plateau where we could grab a bite to eat from the restaurant. We enjoyed our desserts while listening to a great traditional band.
There were plenty of chairs for hikers to sun themselves and rest.
There was a huge children’s play area, near the zip line.
We took the Rodelbahn down. It was a blast!
Liz Eilers Bron — Google review
Just go end enjoy the nice ride! For kids, adults and family. You will find a huge offer for everyone and even if you just want to drink some beer you will find it.
The best par is to go down with the “cars”. It’s the most funny part of the trip.
Walter de Souza — Google review
Great view, huge playground fun for the kids, great obstacles course. And the best ride down the side of a mountain!
Daniel Maule — Google review
The best place with kids in Allgäu!
The playground on the top worth it if you have young kids. There are goats to feed, many different parts of playground and very cool slides for the kids (done on a sack) and the the slide downhill os the best! So long 😀
The kids had their best day in the vacation there.
Gill Nitzan — Google review
Really amazing summer sledding coaster! Take the open lift from the parking lot from 9am but definitely before 10am to get the first rides. In the summer queuing of 45 min after 11am is likely. FAST! You can go the whole trip without braking but only when there are not a lot of people as it is really fast and steep like a roller coaster!
Tomas Renner — Google review
The real highlight of this place is the ropes park, which is really good, and it also has a part for smaller kids so all of our family had a blast there. The alpine coaster is also pretty good. But the playground is kind of a ripoff. 7.5 euro for kids and 5.5 euro for their parents? That is a crazy price for a playground. Which is nice, but definitely not worth the money. I'd go immediately to the rope park and go down the alpine coaster without even giving the playground a look.
Arthur Kiyanovski — Google review
We can either hike up or take a lift ride to the sledge starting point and come back down with the sledge. It takes 5-10 minutes to sledge down with almost 3,000 meters long trail depending on how fast we ride it. The waiting time is up to 1 hour when it's a busy day.
Angelita Angelita — Google review
Great place... we went with our daughter (2 year old) and she enjoyed a lot. It was great fun, well worth a visit. While going up we took a sesselbahn and we came back by Alpsee coaster which was really awsm and Worth the money.

The Ulmer Münster is a Lutheran church built in Gothic style, located in the heart of Ulm City. It boasts the world's tallest steeple at 161.53 meters high and features an impressive carved choir. The church is considered a must-visit landmark in Germany, offering visitors a glimpse into the Middle Ages with its lovely Gothic architecture.
Pictures from February, 2022.
The best experience and also the most challenging is to climb the stairs to reach the viewing platform at the top of the cathedral. Narrow staircases, straight upward climbing is quite exhausting. But really worth of giving it a try. Also the view from the top is really fantastic, a mesmerizing birdeye view of Ulm.

The Ulm Minster⛪ is wonderful, when you enter it you dive into another world🌍
The Münster⛪ is a church built in the Gothic style. It is the largest evangelical church in Germany. The 161.53 meter high tower completed in 1890 is the highest church tower in the world🌍. As it is a must visit if you are in Germany.

If you are ever in Ulm, or passing by with a few hours for your next train connection, and if you like Gothic style buildings, you need to see this very interesting church building.
If you like taking bird’s eye views, this place will interest you, but be aware, there are many steps to climb up if you want to take great pictures of the town from above. Likewise, it will take you time to get back down.
The inside of the building is also marvellous with great designs and centuries old architecture.
This place is close walking distance from the Ulm Hbf train station and I would recommend a tour visit and if you can, go up to the maximum point where you can take unobstructed photos.

Ulm Münster left me speechless! The cathedral's size and beauty are awe-inspiring, and the panoramic views from the top of the tower are breathtaking. Knowledgeable guides added depth to the experience. A must-visit for its beauty and historical significance!

Tallest Church in the world! Lovely Gothic styled Luthern church in the Center of Ulm City. Gives a real feel of the Middle Ages. Go in for €5 without a tour. You can also make it 70 meters onto the towers via 320 stairs. Awesome place.

Amazing place because of the architecture and also the energy vibe in there. I recommend you to climb to the top and get a great view. I went on the morning and it was not busy. At the top you can find a small museum when they show you some pictures and paintings from other cathedrals. You can also see the big bells 🔔, just be careful they don’t scare you will you’re climbing.

Ulm city.
Ulm is the birthplace of Albert Einstein.
And also Ulm is a nice place..
With the tallest church tower in the world, Ulm Minster is, of course, the city's most dominant building. And the Münsterplatz square on which it stands is an endlessly fascinating place that offers a great mix of history and pioneering architecture. But there is more to Ulm than this. The former Free Imperial City boasts a variety of historical attractions,

Magnificent cathedral! The gothic aspiration up to the sky is impressive. Stone lace, sculptures, ancient frescoes, paintings are simply magnificent. But the greatest impression is made by going up to the observation deck of the highest bell tower in Europe. The price is not big, 5 euros. But while you climb to the top, you will curse yourself for your blissful curiosity!😄Descent from the bell tower is another adventure!

Tallest church of Germany. The entry is free. You can get a ticket to do stairs to reach the top of it. If you are into history, it provides a lot of great stories. The interior is filled with biblical stories. Nearby there are restaurants and open spaces where you can relax.

Amazing gothic church, the tallest in the world. You will see it from anywhere in Ulm, and you must enter it to enjoy the interior. The entrance (without climbing to the top) is free, and the church opens at 10AM

We visited this church during the Christmas markets. What a beautiful setting. The church is the tallest in the world (it is actually not a cathedral). It is stunning inside and outside. We really enjoyed our visit. Massive in size. Stunning in beauty. It is free to enter.

Well we went to meet our friend who lives here during christmas and the sight of this church itself is wonderful. It shows calibre of the architect and workers as well. You can find the entire history of when and how was it built. Beautiful both inside and outside. Also you can buy ticket to go until 70m height. Its worth watching the view.

So beautiful! Couldn't climb to the top as we were very tired but the inside was breathtaking! Definitely go during the Christmas market because it made the experience magical!
Varsha Ramgopal — Google review
Be carefully at the moment you can reach only the first level of the tower, and for 7 euros, quite expensive.
View is quite nice, but not a lot to see once you reached the "top".
Lara Alabastro — Google review
The Gothic-style ancient cathedral boasts a spectacular interior with soaring ceilings and intricate sculptures. Sunlight streaming through the large stained glass windows of the nave bathes the entire space in beautiful hues, creating a serene ambiance. When the bells chime, a tranquil stillness envelops the surroundings, offering a moment of spiritual clarity.
Climbing the high tower is an option, and if you have the stamina, reaching the top provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding city. Currently undergoing maintenance, access to the tower is limited, but once the restoration is complete, I look forward to returning to this place to embrace life anew.
The Ulmer Rathaus is a remarkable Renaissance-era town hall in Ulm that boasts stunning exterior frescoes and an impressive astronomical clock. This landmark building's unique architecture and antique charm make it a must-see destination for visitors to the city. It houses the mayor's office, adorned with beautiful paintings, and is considered the best building within 100 meters of it, excluding the Munster. Its gorgeous ancient design and cultural significance add to its appeal as one of Ulm's top attractions.
Very special building with colorful paintings and details. Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past.Especially the huge and complex astronomical clock is worth the visit.

Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past - if you have the time, join one of the guided tours. (Translated by Google) First of all: the photos come from the highly recommended mountain hut. You can sit very comfortably here, either in the warm Stübli or in the winter garden, which is quite cool in winter, with a fantastic view. The menu leaves nothing to be desired, even the little ones are catered for.
Downer: 1. The sun shines on the other side of the mountain.
2. There is no ski run.
3. The toboggan runs were closed.
4. The winter hiking trails were closed - all for no apparent reason.
So overall there are little to no possible activities apart from the short walk to the lookout point.
One exception: Families with children are well served here; there is plenty of scope for activity and experimentation, especially in summer. Today a few families took the opportunity for short sleigh rides as the slopes were closed.

We went to Legoland during the Easter holiday. The amusement park is beautiful and well-organized. However, if you don't buy the fast track tickets, you'll have to wait a long time to play the games. The food isn't too expensive and quite tasty. If you visit on weekends or holidays, it's advisable to purchase fast track tickets to avoid long waits.

Amazing place for small and big kids. The wait time for the rides is quite long so the Express pass is worth looking into. Or spend two days, there is enough to experience!

Very nice experience if you or even better your kid is a Lego fan. I imagine the experience for kids is really amazing. On the other hand, the park does lack rides that would be suitable for older visitors.
All in all would recommend, but don't get your hopes up too high as the park is also not really that big.

Amusement park for kids all ages starting from 5 or 6 years old. 2 days 2 night is perfect compromise to enjoy and have some rest however the park is not extremely huge so if not so many people best attractions can be tried in a shorter time...about the cost I wouldn't say that park, overnight, food is cheap but surely everything around including toilets are very clean

Legoland is the top attraction in case you have kids. Few tips & tricks to plan your visit well:
- if you can, plan your visit during work days, avoid weekends and public holidays. Even on Monday there were many people.
- Online tickets available only, please take care to buy it in advance. Parking ticket might be purchased online as well
- install app for queues monitoring, attractions planning, navigation
- note all rides closes 1 hr before park closing. And yes, Sealife aquarium also categorized as ride 😁Kids loved it! Diverse settings with fun rides and playgrounds. Main dining area best value to eat, especially, pizza. Take water since expensive to purchase on site. Get there early with a plan as to priorities in rides since some have longer wait times as the day progresses. I suspect summer months will have this park very crt due to its size (small).LegolandWe came here to meet friends who have older kids. I thought my one year old wouldn’t really get much from it. I was wrong! We all had a lot of fun! The duplo area is just perfect for the little ones and he absolutely loved it there! The food at the restaurant was also really good and the changing rooms are super well equipped. We’ll come back!

A great theme park with lots of activities for kids in all ages. Most of the rides are suitable for kids 6 and older, but even the older ones can find lots of fun activities. You’ll find roller coasters, water activities, 3D, maze, tea cups, food and drinks.
Don’t miss the Lego mini cities- quite remarkable!
Park closes at 18:00 and can be quite busy during the holidays.
Make sure to download the app for navigation through the park and queue times.

Basically very nice especially for smaller children. The problem is however that the park is overcrowded. During a seven hour visit you'll make maybe 30% of what you've planned. Example - savana ride. Waiting for 20 minutes for 2 minutes ride. Waiting for food is more than half an hour.

Great place for kids. Some attractions may catch attention of parents as well. Of course every attraction is hindered by queue, sometimes 40 minutes long Large parking place nearby.

Had a great time there with my kid and husband, spent 1 day there and we would have needed more time. We bought the tickets in advance, about 2 months before the day.
The child was able to enjoy all the attractions even though he is around 120 cm tall (for some was mandatory to have an adult with him).
All the attractions were closed at 5pm.
The food is not that good, just junk food.

If you have kid who loves Lego or not, this place is a must visit!! It’s a proper 2 days holiday to cover all the rides (may not be enough for some). Please note all rides have height restrictions- minimum requirement varies from 100 to 130cm. Those fun and fast rides require 110cm as minimum. So check the website for the minimum height requirements for individual rides. And this is strictly followed due to safety and security reasons. My personal recommendation is wait until your kid is min 120cm :)
We visited here March last week 2024 just before the Easter holidays. It was for 2 nights and booked a family room in Kings Castle. We got lucky weather was amazing!!
We didn’t have our own car so, we visited here using public transportation end to end. Günzburg is the nearest train station. There’s direct buses from station to legoland park then to holiday village (hotel, villas etc). Time table completely varies, it’s either every 30min or 1hr interval (maybe 2hr during the lunch hour). This is applicable in either direction.
Here’s how we managed our travel- we reached Günzburg by train around 11:00 and there was bus. We reached there and did complete our check in process just at the entrance. And you can drop your luggage at the check in counter. They delivered directly to the reception building at the holiday village. This made whole process easier. We directly entered the park and enjoyed our rides until 5:30pm and directly headed to holiday village. This was about 10-15min walk. We found out where the reception building was and collected our luggage and brought it ourselves to kings castle where my room was booked. Breakfast was amazing at this hotel.
There are dinner buffet was available within the village and we had reservations done whilst booking rooms. We booked Pirate and duschland, first was fantastic and other one was ok-ok sorts.
After checking out, we returned to Günzburg train stations there are bus services 30min to 1hr intervals until 12:22pm, then it starts from 14:00ish again. (During the winter there are limited options, it appears that typically from March mid frequency gets increased).
LEGO Land park is baby stroller/pram friendly.

We had an amazing day out at Legoland Germany. We stayed locally, the night before and spent the entire day there. We went mid October Monday, so crowds were small. It’s was epic. Could have easily filled in 2 days, but had to keep moving. The kids 13 & 8 loved it. Roller coasters were appreciated by both the kids and adults. As an adult, I’d have to say, way cooler than I expected. Way cooler.

LEGO land in Gunzburg is one of the best playtime for kids. You need 1 full day to cover this park.
I have been just 1 week before Halloween and it was best experience for my daughter.
Ticket prices are variable and better to book early. Also I suggest to book online instead waiting in Q.
If your kids 3 above and looking for safe rides, then this is the first choice.

We booked a 3-night stay 20 days ago, the price was 330EUR for a campervan place to park and 2 day tickets for 5 people. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, the holiday Village was rather full. The facilities were clean, there was also a special cleaning machine for chemical toilet. Just be careful, some people use drinking water to clean their toilet. Yuck. It took about 7 minutes to walk to Legoland through a small wood. In the morning they open at 9.45, the rides start at 10 a.m. The waiting times differ a big deal- we waited 30 minutes for the top rides, 5 minutes for others. When it started to rain on Tuesday, there were absolutely no waiting times and the kids enjoyed Maximus ride 5times in a row. If it rains and you have a raincoat, you are in for a lot of fun. Just a note - there are definitely not enough places to hide from rain. If it rains and you want to sit for a while, no chance... just 2 pizza places which are permanently full. The food was nothing special - fast food schnitzel rather bad (10 eur) chips good (6eur), waffles very good (6eur), pizza okay(10eur), popcorn good(5,50eur). Alltgether the kids were over the moon, a place to go.

Awesome!! I highly recomand to buy tickets in advance!! My 4y and 6y were super excited. Even if we were in winter season and many attractions were closed, we barely had enough time to explore 80% of the park in ~6h

It’s a great park if you’re a Lego fan although somehow it feels older than it is (20 years old). Rides and attractions are ok although without much capacity, meaning you need to queue a fair bunch for very short rides (2-3mins). I can’t imagine that ratio during the high-season… Most of the staff was ok and average rude, not many English speakers. Plenty of shopping opportunities. We had a great family time but it’s unlikely that we will make the trip again.
UNESCO world heritage Park that is top notch in size, beauty and features. It's free, never locked and has the most flowers, herbs, trees and walking trails imaginable.
Kneipp baths (multiple leg stations, arm stations for adults, kids and disabled people), educational herb garden with smell stations, frog pond, huge bird aviaries, fountains, lakes with duck islands, exercise and mobility stations ("the five Esslingers"), agility and balancing trails, barefoot trails, labyrinth, mud station to walk through and so much more. All based on Kneipp's natural healing therapies.
You can't ever see it all, but you can try...

Amazing location if you are looking for for a calm therapeutic nature walk. There are trailed walks pathways where you can walk barefoot and experience different senses. Though I have visited here before but yesterday the rose garden was not well maintained, I think this years constant rain was not good. A bit disappointed as they don't keep the very famous umbrellas for longer time in the summer. Would be nicer if they stay there for the full summer time. Free parking for 2h. And Toilet facilities. There could be more take away coffee places and refreshments.

A beautiful and perfectly landscaped garden, with a herb and medicinal plants section, rose garden, a bird sanctuary, forest walk ways, Kneipp route and much more. Although we have visited the park in Autumn, we can imagine how it looks in the Spring and Summer periods. A definite must to visit if you are here. Plenty of seating available.
Eswiss64 — Google review
The barefoot trail is a lot of fun for the whole family. My only complaint is that some sections could be better marked since the paved road interrupts the trail. The trail is pretty rough on your feet but it is worth it for the experience. Some of the stations along the trail are mud pits, balance bridges, and various walking textures. Parking is a little difficult especially on weekends when the weather is nice. There are also limited lockers on site to store shoes. They require a 1 or 2 euro coin that is returned at the end of use.
More than 60 rides & attractions including roller coasters & water rides, plus a petting zoo.
One of the Best theme Parks in Germany and highly recommended to visit it from Munich. The park currently offers 60 attractions and more are coming. Loved it

The rides are great.
Including some that I had never seen before in other parks.
Many of the rides are not for kids under 1.40cm and they are worth it!
We visited the park middle of the week. Off season and with some small rain. And we had the feeling that we have the whole park to ourselves!!
Stuff is friendly and all rides are operational even if you are the only one there!!
It has less of the fairytale park but for hardcode riders!!!
Loved it!

Compact Amusement Park, with nice attractions and good food stands.
The attractions are mainly focused on younger visitors 8-16, with some attractions clearly made for more adrenaline seeking grown ups.
You should better buy the tickets in advance or it's possible that you will have to wait quite a long time to get in.

Nice choice of rollercoasters, roundabouts, and other rides. Plenty of opportunities to dine, quite some at reasonable prices.
The experience very much depends on the length of the waiting queues and thus on the number of people visiting the park.
We went on a Friday in August, where many Bavarians are on vacation, so it was great.
Kids with a birthday +- 5 days of the visit are free. Reduced fees for all under 1.50m.
Most really heavy rides are free from 1.50m and 14 years of age.

It is a very nice and clean park 👍🏻 with rides u and your kids will have fun with but I do recommend to add a game called laser gun ride and increase the staff number.
Although the park is not small, u can still finish it within one whole day.
The potato fires and the crepe are yummy😋

There isn't any Rollercoaster that goes upside down, and the Rollercoasters that do exist need better "seat belts" as they currently make your head wiggle around, which I see it dangerous for our neck.

If you want to use the train you have to walk 10-15 minutes from the station Rammingen bay to arrive the parking space and from there enter the park. If you are alone walking through empty fields might feel a bit uneasy. At least for me as a solo visitor arriving there early Sunday. You are provided with a useful map at the ticket booth. Adrenaline seekers should pick red-marked-equipments. There are beautiful sites for nature lovers as well. You need at least 5-6 hours to walk around and stay in line for your favourite games. The price and distance worth the adventure.

One of the best Amusement Park within Bavaria, they have lot of space for Car parking.
You can reach by rail : Munich to Buchloe from there you need to change the train for Raimmingen (bay) 2 stop from Buchloe.
Entire journey is of 50 minutes. And from Raimmingen station you need to walk for 1.5 km to reach entrance of Skyline Park.
You can get entry easly without reservations ( i went on Saturday ) cost for adult is 40 euro, i went with combined ticket which cost 120 euro for 2 adults and 2 kids
TIPS: If you see any ride is having long queue do not wait go for different rides try to cover those ride after 3 or 4 pm, you will see very less crowd. You should reach at 10 am as they will close it sharp at 6 pm, this way you can enjoy the rides.
You have lots of things to do for kids, my kid enjoyed a lot and wish to come again.
Inside food court will get close by 6 pm but near the entrance you will have food ( ice cream , popcorn) shop open till 7 or 7:30 pm.
Take ample amount of water with you. You can bring your own food and they also have lot of food court.
We enjoyed a lot i hope you will also.

Not the best one amusement park I visited, and quite old but still good enough park for a one day trip. Unfortunately few attractions were closed. Restaurants are quite limited in number and variety.
Füssen Altstadt is a charming and fairly small pedestrian center with quaint shops, cafes, and picturesque squares. The old Apotheke building on the main street and the fountain at the far end are notable attractions. This traditional southern town offers delightful restaurants, cafes, and dessert shops. Visitors can explore historic sites like Hohes Schloss and the Benedictine Monastery of St. Mang while enjoying a music parade in the afternoon.
Old part of cities never disappoints you. Instead, they welcome you in their comfort and cosy world.

The old town is incredible and very rich in atmosphere - it feels like going back in time. A small recommendation - if you go there, go when the weather is a bit worse. I went when it was raining a bit and the streets were empty - that's the best way to experience it in my opinion.

Very recreational town with the beautiful castles and lake. In town lots of great restaurants.
Fussen is the recommended place to come for sure!! You can't miss this Bavarian town.
Hohenschwangau Castle, a neo-Gothic summer residence of King Ludwig II, was built by his father atop 12th-century ruins left by Schwangau knights. It has a distinctly lived-in feel with ornately furnished state rooms, where every piece of furniture is an original. The palace is far less showy than Neuschwanstein and features stars painted on the ceiling of Ludwig's bedroom.
Wow! Worth a visit for everyone. Again, you can't take any pics inside but plenty of photo ops outside of the castle and the surrounding scenery. My advice is get there as early as possible, past 10am it gets ridiculously busy. Tickets are timed so it's all very orderly. You can walk up to the castle, but I'd suggest taking the bus from the car park, you can then walk off to the right and go on the bridge, it's then a 5 min walk up to the castle. There's a shop, loos and lockers for bags. There are also loos once you're into the main courtyard. As of Aug '22 you need to wear a mask inside, but they do sell them at the info desk for €2 each. After you can walk down the hill or take a horse drawn cart (€4ea) but it takes the same amount of time. Plenty of options for eating and drinking around the car park. If you walk along the road past the car park, with it on your right, you'll be treated to an amazing blue lake nestled amongst mountains. Stunning.

Beautiful castle walls and towers. There is a rich story (thanks to the amazing castle guide) on how King Ludwig designed and innovated the castle with electricity and even a lift ! Will consider this castle visit more of to accomplish a checklist if you are staying in Munich and not really a wow-must-visit attraction.

The tour was fascinating and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and sweet. It was an "audio-tour" so we were given a history of the castle and the family in English, but our tour guide was fluent in English and German. She added so many other neat tidbits and facts to really personalize the tour.
NOTE: It is limited to the queen's chambers and ladies' rooms/the king's chambers and the knights' rooms, so much of the castle is not included in the tour. The kitchen is located in the back of the gift shop and is a neat sight as well.
We booked our tickets online. If you do the same (and I suggest you do as it often sells out!) make sure you give yourself ample time to find parking and walk up to the castle. We got there 20 minutes early and were cutting it close.
The lady at the entrance to the tour was not very nice at all. She was the one negative to the whole experience.
NOTE: LOTS OF WALKING - wear your good shoes.

Great castle to visit. We had a nice guided visit with an audio guide in English and a guide to answer questions. It was interesting and didn't take too long. Our group was only composed of 4 people, us included, so it was really nice. Great view from the castle too and a quick bus ride from and to Füssen. Be sure to check the return bus schedule as they are not really frequent.

This year my husband and I decided to do castle tours in Germany. Yesterday we visited Hohenschwangau, (our 3rd castle visited in 2 days). I love the vibrant color of the exterior. It has a beautiful courtyard with a pretty fountain and landscape. Too bad it was raining which prevented us from taking some amazing photos of the castle and spending more time in the courtyard. This castle along with many others does not allow photography during the tour. King Maximilian II commissioned the construction of this castle. It has 50 rooms, rooms are small and have less decor than some of the other castles around. Overall it is a beautiful castle, overlooking the town below, and the mountains. I advised repurchasing the tour tickets ahead of time, less hassle. Guided tour comes in multiple languages. Our tour guide spoke English well.

Amazing castle - more finished inside than Neuschwanstein. You can freely walk around, up to the castle and around the courtyard however you'll need tickets to go inside with a tour. Worth the visit here if you're in Fussen.

The summer residence of the kings, the interior of the castle has been perfectly maintained since they ruled here. Each room has fantastic murals depicting fairy tale legends still original to when they were painted and not showing any aging. To get inside you need a ticket for the 30minute guided tour.

Bring a swimsuit 👙🩲 to swim in the lake after the tour! An impressive castle on the inside, and a nice exterior view especially from the lake. The forced guided tour only shows you a fraction of the castle 🏰 but it's enough to get a sense of how the knights and royalty lived here.

If you want to visit inside, booking in advance is a must. The tour inside is about 35 to 40 minutes, about 17 people per group. You can't take photos or anything, and you couldn't even spend enough time to appreciate the art and paintings due to they're kind of pushing to finish the tour.
The price of the ticket is rather expensive for what you will get.
For someone who doesn't have much interest in history or low budget. I would recommend Just go to look around outside the castle instead, it's very beautiful views and free.

Such an idyllic setting, it is a must see when undertaking the Romantic Drive in Bavaria, Germany. Visited in early May 23 and found it to be a fantastic attraction.
The day we got to visit was a little drizzly but it set the scene for a rather romantic time to do the tour through the castle. Our tour guide was a fun guy and added to the tour. Entry is by way of booked tickets and the whole process of visiting the castle is done quite precisely. You won't be disappointed.

Interesting castle to visit, the architecture of the castle is kind of stunning even though it is not as picturesque as its neighbour Neuschwanstein from the outside.
The tour of the interior of the castle is 30-40 minutes long and you will be able to see 8 rooms of the castle. It isn't the best castle tour, but it's kind of expected since this is a 200 years old castle with not much history.

Great place to visit for a day trip to Southern Germany.
This castle was built in the 1800s by King Maximillian II. His son Ludwig lived there as a child and built the more photogenic castle across the valley when he was older.
This particular castle is very well preserved. All of the furniture is still inside. It’s almost as if the residence simply went away for the weekend and let you come in to take a look at it!
It is still privately owned, thus they do not allow any photographs to be taken inside. My wife and I found it interesting that the queen and king each had their own separate floor of the castle, however there is a secret staircase that connects their bedrooms for conjugal visits!
The Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century hilltop fortress constructed for King Ludwig II. The castle, which resembles Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, was created to recreate the world of Germanic mythology inspired by Richard Wagner's operatic works. The Sängersaal or Minstrels Hall is the most stunning room in the castle, with frescoes depicting scenes from Tannhäuser opera.
From the car park to reach the castle you can walk or take a ride with the bus or carriage. The tickets to get inside the castle are at the base, where the transportation is. Unfortunately I couldn't visit it inside as I didn't had enough time to wait one hour and a half for the next group tour. But next time I'll be more prepared for this. Even so seeing the castle surroundings was a very nice experience. You have plenty of nice views and lots of nice spots to take beautiful pictures.

Absolutely amazing location! This castle is just like from the fairytale! Take Romantic route when going there- you will enjoy beautiful countryside views and a lot of cows on the road! Castle itself located on the hill and reaching it by foot will take some 20-30 minutes. But you can take bus or horse ride there also! Tickets to enter the castle should be booked in advance- otherwise you will enjoy only from the outside, as we did!

It was a beautiful place but lots of hiking and it's difficult to find the spot where you can take an instagram worthy photo of the castle and even if you do, you will have to wait in line for 40 minutes to get there. It's so crowded in August that instead of enjoying the place, you will get a headache. But minus the crowd, it's a wonderful place!

Beautiful place!! I went near the end of November and it was snowy. Not all restaurants were open but there were enough to get a bit to eat. Easy walk around the area; both castles and the lake. Two viewpoints were blocked off because of the snow which was disappointing but understandable. The snow made it magical but if you want to see all sides of the castle go in warmer weather. It is about a 25 minute tour of the castle and you cannot take pictures or video inside. I used the GetYourGuide app to book a full day tour from Munich and it was a comfortable easy way to go! It is about a 30-40 minute walk up a paved path to the Castle so wear comfortable shoes. You have to sign up for a tour time so as to not overcrowd the castle. Lockers are accessible near the entrance of the castle and plenty of gift shops. Check this one off the bucket list!

I love coming back to this castle. It has something magical about it. I’ve seen it in all four seasons and each season has its own beauty. However the negative side of going there in winter is that the bridge where you could take good pictures of the castle could be closed due to weather conditions.
From the parking lot to the foot of the entrance, you can take a horse drawn carriage which cost at present eight euros per person for each direction. However, you can also walk it, which takes a good 20 minutes. From there it’s another 10 to 15 minute walk to the actual entrance of the castle.
I find the tour to be a bit short. I took a tour a few years ago where it was longer, but I suppose they no longer offer that. I do enjoy having a cup of coffee and cake inside a castle, though after the tour.

The castle is beautiful! Too bad that on the inside you can’t take pictures.
On the outside you’re one step from the alps, trees and 2 beautiful lakes that make the place look like taken out of a book.

What can anyone say about the world famous fairytale castle Neuschwanstein. It is stunning and surreal in person. The tour is well worth but make sure to book in advance. Getting to it is a challenge but no matter the method it is inexpensive. Even the horse drawn carriages was 7 euros a person. Many still walked, even in the rain.
The story around the castle is fascinating and sad. It was far from done when King Ludwig was killed. Only can imagine what it would be if he could have finished it.
Stayed in the nearby town of Fussen. Such a lovely place. Would not stay near the Castles as there is not much to do.

I had been wanting to visit for many years since my first visit to Bavaria. I'm glad I did as it is, obviously, a very impressive and beautiful building set in fantastic scenery.
No pictures are permitted to be taken while on the tour itself. Obviously some people still try, but thankfully the staff are quick to stop them.
Tours are run on a timed entry system and conducted with audio guides. Surgical masks are required. Homemade/cloth masks are not permitted. If you try to enter without a mask, or with a cloth mask, you will be made to pay €4 for an accepted one.
Buy your tickets ahead of time. A limited number of day tickets are available at the tourist centre in Schwangau (no tickets are available for purchase at the castle itself) but they go very quickly.
Don't miss the view from Marienbrucke before going into the castle itself.
Small cafe on site after the tour. Not bad, not great.
Gift shop has usual kind of trinkets and is pricey.

We purchased our tickets in advance and printed them at home. They are timed and you can only enter the inside of the castle 10 minutes before the "tour" starts. I recommend getting the first tour of the day because the parking lots fill up and it gets hot in the summer.
We caught a bus from parking lot #4 up to the top of the hill. You pay on the bus - cash only - a few euros per person. From there we walked to a bridge with an excellent view of the castle and took some photos. We then walked to the castle and waited for our tour to start. We had an audio guided tour which was very informative. This castle is stunning, beautifully preserved and cared for. It's definitely a bucket list place to visit. After our tour we walked back downhill to our car. Highly recommend visiting this castle.

This castle is amazing , the views are spectacular the inside is just beautiful you have to see it to understand . You cannot take pictures inside the castle We took a horse drawn carriage up to the castle for about 8 euros and 4 euros down trust me either take the carriage or bus the walk is all up hill and about 30 minutes . There is plenty of parking and restaurants and cafes to eat and get drinks from there are also souvenir shops inside the castle . And the place is very crowded so if you can get there early . You cannot bring any bags inside and also no cameras . But do not miss being inside the mad kings castle .

Amazing palace in an amazing location between plains, lakes and high mountains. It looks medieval but is modern. Worth any voyage to come experience it and its surroundings.
Not that easy to get to but the climb/walk only adds to the luster of your visit. Reservations run out weeks in advance in summer so plan your visit well.
The bridge is best but not for the faint-hearted. I only go up a bit to take the amazing pictures of the castle, mountains, plain and lake.
We did not enjoy coming with a disabled person. We booked for a disabled person and an accompanying adult but:
1. You can't get to the front gate without climbing
2. You can't use the elevators in the castle unless you have a separate ticket for it, which I was not told about
3. The horse carriage stops running at 6pm even though we were told it would run until after our tour finished, so my mother had to hitch a ride back in an employee's car. If none had been available, she would have had to spend the night on the mountain somehow.

A very beautiful castle! The old markings and objects within the halls and rooms are outstandingly stunning. This castle tells its story very well and the tourer guides explain every detail down to a fine art, giving a clear picture of who owned the castle and how it functioned. The view is so striking and the area around is a very nice and cute town, reflecting the castles beauty from above and below. Would recommend a visit!

Visiting the castle must be planned in advance by purchasing tickets on the website. The experience is unique. If the weather is good (no rain or fog) you will get wonderful photographs of the view of the Castle, the lake and the city itself, which is very charming. On the way to the Castle and minutes before the center you can find good restaurants. I recommend the tour!

Gorgeous. Magnificent. Outstanding. Breathtaking. Impressive.🤩
There could be other dozens of way to describe this gem, easily.
The best sights are gotten from the Marienbrucke.
From the inside it was never finished so there are two storeys empty and the visit is somehow rather short accordingly.

Beautifully crafted structure. A masterpiece on its own. You can book tickets online. You can park the vehicle and then take a bus or the horse carriage to reach the Castle. 10 mins walk from the Bus stop. Please take return ticket of the bus at the time of taking the trip to the castle saves some money.
Ambarish P — Google review
The scenery around it is absolutely stunning. Weather is just perfect on December, around 10 degree C and not too mild. Entrance fee may not justify the price as it is only a 5 min tour esp for someone had seen next level wall painting like in Vatican.

A must see! Love Germany, so pretty, stunning views. Please note that it is a long very steep walk from the parking area. There are horse carriages you can take up, unsure the cost.

Beautiful. The scenery is amazing. Take the bus to the castle and look out but walk back. Make sure to swim in the lake located between the 2 castles, it makes for a great way to finish a warm day walking between the castles.

It's a beautiful place, but everything is made in order for you to pay a bit more.
Also, I highly recommend going early in the morning. We came the first time in the afternoon, and there were literally a hundred or more persons waiting for the bus to take you up to the castle.
Siwang Daopian — Google review
Give yourself plenty of time for photos and taking in the breathtaking views. September was a stunning time to visit. The castle is beautiful but the views from the castle are even more spectacular. There were flowers everywhere, the meadows were lush green and lakes dotted with sailboats. We saw a dozen hangliders floating through the sky, what an incredible view that must have been.

Incredible Castle (inside and outside) is a must if you are in Bavaria. The only negative point would be that there is not much time to appreciate in the castle tour.
Couldn't find online tickets but risk it in going and was able to get the ticket (€ 15 per person)
Also, recommend to go to the bridge (20min walk from castle) perfect castle view and the wait is not that long just really crowded.

Absolutely beautiful castle & grounds. We took the horse & carriage up for 8 euro per person and then walked back down. We had a gorgeous day to be there. I'd highly recommend getting there early if you pre purchased your audio tour so you have plenty of time to get to the check in. ❤️

First time visiting real castle. So good! Definitely worth visiting if you are in Munich. We went for a day tour, very very informative so you can understand the history! Tons of excitement and good architectural. Castle was built by limestone. I visited on the winter time.
Heard that when it’s summer, more sunlight, it makes the castle shines due to the limestones structure.

The castle is beautiful, although the place is very tourist-like. Can't enter the castle gates without a ticket and it's a specific time you may enter with your ticket. They will recommend a bus, and then a 15 minute walk from the bus stop. But you can walk up from the start of the bus to the castle in 20-25 minutes.

Absolutely magnificent castle! The art and architecture is incredible. The history is beautiful. I loved all the colors inside and all the different rooms. The outside view is absolutely chanting. Definitely worth the trip to check it out. My favorite were the murals which were inspirations for many stories that I am familiar with!

Absolutely a rip-off, don’t take the €20 tour of the castle, you are climbing almost 200 stairs during the tour and it’s not worth it. The castle’s gift shops rips you off as well, the place mats were €7 in the first gift shop, then it was down to €5 in the second one on the way to exit. The view is nice, breathtaking but that’s just it. A very touristic place. Not worth it. Instead you can enjoy the view and have lunch in the restaurants maybe…just an idea…

By tickets in advance or else there's the risk of not being able to enter the castle. Also I highly recommend going on that little hike after crossing the bridge. You will find a nice photo spot with very few people.
Victor Burcovschi — Google review
Worth a tour of the interior to see the artistry and hear about its inception. The tour wasn’t long and was a large group, leaving slower wanderers or those with more questions a bit rushed. But worth it! If uncertain of the signs for where to start your hike, you can follow the road that the carriages take. Also hiking to the view from the bridge is a must!

This place is a great location, you have free parking and can walk around the castle at night and early morning before anyone’s around.
However it’s really more of a hostel, we had to share a bathroom and toilet and there was no kettle and a very basic bed, all okay for an overnight but nothing special
Breakfast was very nice and staff team lovely.

A very beautiful Castle from outside! One must definitely visit. It was wonderful to trek up the hill up till the Marienbrücke and take some spectacular pics of the castle and the river beneath! Overall takes around half a day to tour.
Schloss Linderhof, a palace built in the 19th century, boasts extravagant interiors filled with mirrors and chandeliers. Although small in size, it is richly decorated and surrounded by French gardens complete with fountains and follies. The castle was inspired by Versailles and dedicated to Louis XIV, the French Sun King. King Ludwig II used this palace as a secluded retreat and rarely entertained guests there.
Such a Beautiful place. In summer the palace looks spectacular. From April to October you can take a visit inside the Castle and the tickets are only 10 euro per person. It’s amazing inside the king residence. There are very good English speaking tour guides who can explain very nicely to the non-german speaker visitors. The whole palace area is so peaceful and well maintained. You can just sit and relax under a tree. It’s also looks beautiful in winter specially with snow. But I would recommend you to visit is summer. It looks more lively in Summer.

So I was a bit let down at first. When you see the palace from the outside you’ll see it’s not very big. And you wonder why it’s even called a palace. The first room you walk into is definitely beautiful, but still not as extravagant as I expected. Then you get up stairs and it blows your mind. Definitely a decor to impress. It’s a light walk up from the ticket office. They will not let you take pictures inside. Still it’s breath taking, but a very short tour. Maybe 30 minutes max
Baron Migs — Google review
We did an English tour of the palace and it was nice. You tour a few beautiful rooms full of gold, a massive bed, and some beautiful art and antiques, and the whole tour is about 25 minutes. No pictures allowed, but dogs are allowed inside if they’re carried. The grounds are lovely. The gift shop has good variety and there’s a cafe. Parking cost 3€. I would recommend coming early to beat the crowds and book your tour online.

This is a beautiful palace, opulent and a monument to Ludwig's vision. It is not as large as Neuschwanstein, nor perched on a mountain, but it is a lovely forest setting and has beautiful gardens to walk around in and it is very peaceful. It's a shame they only show the opulence (which was good) as Ludwig was a fan of the latest technology and we would have liked to have seen other aspects of the building.
Brenton B — Google review
The grounds surrounding the palace are gorgeous. Plenty of fountains, a lake, hiking trails, gardens etc.
Entrance to the park surrounding the palace is free so at a cost of 3 euro for parking you get a great deal.
Visiting the interior of the palace can only be done via a guided tour so it's worth buying a ticket when entering the compound and walk around the park until the time of the tour arrives. It's nice and worth the price but not a must have.

One of our favorite palaces to visit and the one where Ludwig II lived the most time. Massive fountain... just wait for the timed display. The best part was that nearly the whole Palace is available to tour (most others tour a very limited portion). The palace is in excellent shape, as are the gardens and fountains. Also much easier to get in to the tour than some other.

Absolutely amazing. It was so nice to see this castle. Every room was as it was back them. The tour guide was so knowledgeable and informative. The grounds were glorious. It was an easy walk and very affordable. Loved our visit and the story behind the castle. Well worth the visit

Beautiful castle built for King Ludwig II, with gorgeous gardens. The tour is a must. This was combined with the tour to Neuschwanstein castle and worth the full day excursion. You tour multiple rooms of the castle and hear about the personal life of the eccentric king. No photos inside the castle but the grounds and outside are photo worthy.

One of my favorite places to see in Munich, while it may be the smallest palace, it is still quite impressive.
I visited as a part of a tour bus group, so the ticket was only 9€. We got a ticket with the specific time slot to enter, so didn’t have to wait in line.
The palace is narrow, and has stairs, so I don’t think it’s suitable for wheelchair users. The tour doesn’t take long, and it moves, though, slowly.
A special thanks to our guide, Mr Schneider; he’s great at his job, and clearly loves the topic he’s talking about. He made the visit much more enjoyable. We joked, that we wouldn’t mind having him showing us all the other castles and palaces.

Beautiful little one man palace! Used to be a hunting lodge but King Ludwig did some serious upgrades and made this palace a mini gold gilded home - seriously - gold everywhere once you enter. Extravagant, over the top decor seems to cover every inch of the inside! My wife and I toured this area in February when there were almost no crowds and loved it but will come back in the spring when the outside fountains and gardens are open and in full bloom!

The whole Schloss Linderhof compound was a lot of fun to walk around and pretty easy with a toddler. We didn't tour inside of the palace due to not getting tickets ahead of time, but we still enjoyed our time here. Even without going inside, the trip was well worth it.

Amazing palace with a beautiful garden and a wonderful setting with the mountains in the backdrop.
It really is a very relaxing scene with plenty of things to see and explore.
It’s really nice to see how well it was preserved and being taken of.
It’s very reasonably priced. Parking is about €3 and admission to the palace and hunting hut is €10.
Really cool place to check out.

Lots of pressed gold leaf, opulently decorated residence of King Ludwig II with an equally impressive formal garden.
Situated about 1.5 hours from Munich, this Baroque style small castle is the only one King Ludwig II lived to see completed. The Castle guided tour is quite short at around 30 minutes (the info is similar to that in Wikipedia). The rooms with the most lasting impression is the Hall of Mirrors and his spacious bedroom - decorated in ornate, theatrical style, complete with an enormous Indian Ivory chandelier. There are no photographs allowed inside the Palace.
The formal garden with its geometric, colourful flower beds, clipped hedging, statues, fountains - is a joy to photograph.

Very friendly staff who do excellent tours of the interior of the palace in excellent English. No photography inside the building, but lots of pictures can be taken of the exterior and the amazing gardens. Great facilities such as cafe shop and plenty of toilets! A hidden gem well worth a visit.

Linderhof Castle nestled in the heart of the enchanting Bavarian Alps is a masterpiece of opulence and architectural finesse.
The palace itself is a visual delight, with its intricate design and immaculate gardens. Each room tells a story of lavish luxury, showcasing the refined taste of King Ludwig II. The Hall of Mirrors is a particular highlight. A breathtaking display of mirror-lined walls and crystal chandeliers that create an illusion of infinite space and light.
The surrounding gardens are a work of art in their own right, with perfectly manicured lawns, fountains, and sculptures.
It's a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking to be enchanted by the grandeur of the past.

Beautiful palace in southwest Bavaria - well worth the trip down here if you're a tourist near Munich. It might be a bit of a unknown area, but of the many castles we saw in Bavaria this was definitely top. The price is reasonable for the amount of cool things you get to see in the Palace and park. The walk is approx. 20min to the palace itself, and you should line up at your according time to make sure you don't miss your tour spot.

As a mother of five children, ranging in age from 15 to 1 year old, I can't say enough about our wonderful experience at Linderhof Palace. Visiting in the month of February allowed us to see this stunning gem in a beautiful winter setting.
From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel welcome and accommodated our large family with ease. The grounds were impeccably maintained, and the palace itself was like something out of a fairytale. The kids were absolutely mesmerized by the beautiful architecture and the snow-covered gardens.
The guided tour of the palace was informative and engaging, keeping the attention of all of my children (even the wiggly ones). They were fascinated by the opulent decor and the stories of King Ludwig II. The older kids were able to appreciate the historical significance of the palace, while the younger ones simply marveled at the grandeur of it all.
After the tour, we spent time exploring the expansive gardens, where the kids had a blast running around. The snow-capped mountains in the distance provided a breathtaking backdrop for our family photos.
We also enjoyed a warm cup of hot chocolate at the on-site café, which was a welcome treat on a chilly day. The staff was accommodating and patient with our large group, and we never felt rushed or unwelcome.
Overall, our visit to Linderhof Palace was an unforgettable experience for our family. It was a perfect mix of history, culture, and natural beauty that appealed to all of my children. I highly recommend this attraction to any family looking for a memorable and educational outing. We can't wait to visit again in the future.

Gorgeous castle with rich history, the tour is worth the expense - quite informational and posh. No touching and no photographs. The interior is under constant renovation. The castle is a small hike from the entrance, with varying altitudes on the compound. The garden is beautifully landscaped with many picturesque spots and statutes. There is a gift shop at the base, near the entrance. The terrain is manageable. Climate was moderate for early June, almost hot. Highly recommend!

Beautiful palace constructed by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. It is the smallest of the three built by him and also the one he lived in the most. Built in a manner befitting Louis the XIV of France, it is highly ornate and gilded and has lots of mirrors. Only the first floor is currently open to visitors and tours are conducted by guides. Tickets have to be purchased and can be done in advance.

Lovely place. It was smaller than I thought it would be, but it was a great tour inside. The rooms are well worth a look, there's lots of delicate and old ornaments to admire. The staff are friendly and informative. You can't take pictures inside, so enjoy the tour while it lasts.
The gardens surrounding the Palace are lovely and definitely worth having a wander around while you're waiting for your tour time.
Forest trail with tableaux based on Grimm brothers' fairy tales, farm animals & a mini railway.

Nice place to visit with small kids, it is a small park with fairy-tale themed wooden figures with an audio that tells the respective fairy-tale. There are two nice playgrounds, a short train ride, sheep and goats that can be fed, an opportunity for a pony ride. There is also a crepe kiosk and a small restaurant.
One can spend about half a day and have perfectly busy and happy kids, but no longer so for something like that a 1h with a car distance from Munich is a bit to far.

(Translated by Google) The Schmalzturm, also called the beautiful tower, was part of the first city wall of Landsberg (early 14th century). The inner side faces the main square, the outer side faces the steep Alte Bergstrasse. While the lower part is made of bricks, the upper part and the roof, including the hour tower, are beautifully decorated. The cannonball on the inside above the passage commemorates the Napoleonic occupation. The name Schmalzturm comes from the fact that the market women used to sell Schmalzturm and other heat-sensitive goods in its shadow.

Beautiful hidden gem in Obermergau! Loved the architecture of this catholic parish church! It was built between 1735–1749 according to the plans by Joseph Schmuzer. It has a main and four side altars, rich stucco work, large-scale ceiling and wall frescoes, a pulpit and an organ. Loved the art on the altar and the graveyard!
Shreejith Krishnan — Google review
It is the Catholic parish church of Oberammergau in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen District (Bavaria), is an important example of the southern German Baroque. It was built from 1735 to 1749. The sculptures were created by Franz Xaver Schmädl, the pictures and frescoes by Matthäus Günther.
A pre-Romanesque predecessor church was probably built as early as the ninth century, possibly replacing an even older wooden church. At this time, the Welfe Ethiko withdrew here with twelve companions to a life in a monastic community. In 1167, the Kempten monastery was given twelve courtyards with the right to present themselves through the church. In 1295 and 1362 they became the property of the Augustinian monastery in Rottenbuch. All pastors of Oberammergau can be completely documented from 1432 to the secularization of the monastery in 1802; they all were Augustinian Canons.
The Oberammergau parish was founded in the 12th century by the Rottenbuch canon monastery, with which it remained pastorally connected until secularization. The first church was replaced by a Gothic building in the High Middle Ages. This had become so dilapidated at the beginning of the 18th century that the new baroque building was tackled.
The middle picture of the high altar shows the Mother of God as the heavenly helper of those who ask for intercession and contribute gifts. It is replaced by a figure of the risen Christ during Easter and the Passion Play. The statues of the apostles Peter and Paul as well as the outside of St. Joseph and Joachim with their attributes are remarkable. The Lamb of God is enthroned on the book with seven seals above the tabernacle .
The two side altars on the choir arch are dedicated to the theme of redemption through Christ's sacrifice on the cross. The left altar shows in a rare representation God's decision to salvation as an "inner conversation" of the Trinity. The saints Martin and Gregory the miracle worker appear at the side. The right altar shows Christ on the cross -- this cross is considered to be the one in front of which the Oberammergau residents took their vows of the Passion Play in the year of the plague in 1633 -- with Mary and John and, on the outside, the "good thief" Dismas and Mary Magdalene .
The altars in the side extensions are dedicated to the holy clan (left; altarpiece by Günther) and Saint Anthony of Padua (right; picture by Johann Jakob Zeiller ).
It's a very gorgeous sanctuary to say the least (photos).

I am a Church nerd. I have to visit some on every holiday. For me, however, the Dom, as a whole, failed to 'grab' me, It seemed more like a repository. That said, the wall paintings were fantastic.

This cathedral is the most visited site in Augsburg and also it's most important church. It's founded in the 12th century but the original church even dates back to 8th century and it is a Roman Catholic church. Through the years many reconstructions were made and now it has neo-Gothic style as well. It was an interesting and calming experience to walk inside and enjoy the silence and the beauty of the arts inside.

The Augsburg Town Hall, a government building from the 17th century Renaissance era, boasts lavish halls adorned with artwork and gold. With an admission fee of only 1 euro for students, visitors can witness the historical significance of the building upon entry. Inside, ancient objects are displayed in charming rooms. Though its exterior may seem unremarkable compared to others in town, it is a must-visit attraction for those interested in history and architecture. Its stunning beauty is evident through pictures alone.
Must go inside - build outside looks like any other - but inside it’s amazing. Definitely on list to see
Kamil NOWAK — Google review
Quite a sight to behold from the outside, more so on the inside. Only a €2.50 entry fee for adults to enter the Goldener Saal (Golden Hall), which is very impressive. You can also visit a couple of informative exhibitions for free on the ground floor, including a brief history of Augsburg.

Very beautiful place and i believe the pictures speaks for themselves. If you're in Augsburg this place is definately a must to visit.

One of the historical buildings in Augsburg, it was rebuilt after 60% of it being destroyed during WW2. Golden hall is absolutely worth it. The building itself welcomes both working politicians and visitors at the same time. We almost disrupted heated debate there.

Very pretty golden hall and good for pictures. The admission fees are 1 euro for students which is very affordable. Gives you nice view of the history when you enter. And nice rooms with ancient objects

built in the 1600's by Elias Holl with the late renaissance architecture. it is the icon of the city with Eagle painting on the front and the pine coat of arm on the Top. impressive architecture and the entrance is free on the Groundfloor where you can visit the war memorials and ancient relics and modules from the City.

Unfortunately, I didn't had the chance to enter this beautiful piece of history, just outside the views...

Wow. The golden room is definitely worth visiting.
Reasonable €2.5 per person to visit.
This beautiful building has a hidden golden nugget inside. Literally.
The golden room has over 2.7kg (5Lbs) of gold coating all over the moldings and statues.
The history of this over 450 years old building is fascinating, and how it survived and was rebuilt after WW2.
The staff dis knowledgeable and super helpful with any questions when visiting. They even offer a folder in English or Spanish for international visitors.

The city hall of Augsburg might be the most famous landmark of the city. A city that was lead by wealth and power until the 30years war. The square is a popular gathering place. It is worth a stroll.

The "golden saal" or the golden hall inside is beautiful and amazing. The entrance fee is cheap especially if you are student, anyway to enter the rathaus is free. You will also have a good view of the square down below from the hall.
Fuggerei is a housing complex that has been operating for over 500 years, with a museum on-site. It has a rich history and was originally built to house those who couldn't afford their own homes. The complex is well-maintained and during the summer months, the houses are covered in lush green climbers. One of the houses is open to visitors so they can experience what life was like there in the past.
Beautiful historical place with the nice and smooth vibe.
To be honest, I am not fan of museum but I am happy that I have visited this place and got some information and knowledge through visiting this place.
some interesting information about Deutschland's history and about inhabitants.
I definitely suggest you guys to visit this place.

It's 8 euros to visit this establishment but I think it actually should have free entrance or maybe even less entrance charge...1stly non of the original buildings exist...they were all totally destroyed during world 2 bombings by the allied forces...there is a bunker that was built during WW2 with pictures of the city during those tough times...show casing the history of the city... regarding the houses themselves they are occupied by residents....there is a museum showing the patron...it's like visiting a gated community type of thing...
Devan Pulliah — Google review
Not worth the visit. 6,5€ for entering a street with nothing to do really... Yes, the houses here are hundreds of years old, but so well preserved ( and renovated) that there's nothing special to see...
Ludo Van Raemdonck — Google review
It's a very nice building complex that you better visit in the summer. Unfortunately the museums are rather mediocre and the price of the tickets are high for what is offered.

An amazing community that was started over 500 years ago to help people who wanted to work but could not afford housing. The museum detailing history is a must see, and it is a worthwhile visit for the beauty of the buildings.

This is one of the oldest living settlements. The entry fees is €6.50 and they accept only cash. The whole area can be covered by foot and not much walk also. There is a fast food restaurant inside the settlement and WC.
The history about the settlement will blow your mind and there is a house where you can watch the short movie or listen to audio.
There are also museums which takes you back to 500 years.
Loved our time spent here :)
Visit this place has as it has very beautiful gorgeous green creepers and a lovely charm.

I visited Fuggerei, the world’s oldest public housing complex still in use. While the historical significance is undeniable, I found the €8 entrance fee to be steep for what I experienced. The housing units are unique, simulating living in individual houses, but overall, it didn’t quite meet my expectations.
VISHNU PRASAD K — Google review
It's such an interesting and very beautiful place with a lot of history. I would definitely recommend this, and there is also an english translation of everything. I don't think it will be interesting for kids.
Medina Mulaosmanovic — Google review
Highly recommend if you are in Augsburg. Entry is cheap (8 euro for adult, 7 for student) and you can easily spend 1-2 hours there (wouldn't need much longer than that). It is really interesting to read about the Fuggerei and they have multiple museums within the buildings to read about the way people live, and other things like the war. There is toilets located here too.

A place rich with the history that goes back to 500 years. The main reason was to provide shelter to people who could not afford housing. Very well maintained and well illustrated. If you visit during the summer, then you can see the houses covered with beautiful green climbers. They still have a house open for the tourists, so that you can go and have a feel of how it was to live here during the old time. How was the lifestyle of the people in Fuggerei. They have their own small church inside the premises. There are families who still live here. You can walk through the entire area. They accept only cash at the entrance for the ticket of 6.50 Euros.

Ettal Abbey is a magnificent complex situated in the Alps, established in 1330 by Ludwig the Bavarian for a group of knights and Benedictine community. The monastery comprises a baroque church with breathtaking frescoes and sculptures, along with a liqueur distillery, gift shop and bookstore. Visitors are captivated by the stunning dome inside the church that highlights its beauty. Additionally, there is a renowned brewery on-site which adds to its charm.
This place was very cool. it was established in 1330. they brew beer, Schnapps and make their own cheese. And there is a very good Italian Restaurant right across the street. Reasonable prices and serves the Abby's beer.

The Benediktinerabtei Ettal was really a sight to behold, and very majestic. Dominating the sleepy little town of Ettal. Be sure to head into the Basilica and stay awhile!
Jonathan Lim — Google review
Beautiful monastery, with a selection of biers and liqueurs available for purchase (they've been making them locally for centuries). When visiting bear in mind that this operates like a normal church so choose your hours in a way to not disturb the people praying there.

This was a bit of a disappointment during my
recent visit. The grounds and monestary are nice but after a few minutes I was wondering what I was going to do next. The Cafe and Brewery were closed even though Google said both were open.
Myles Long — Google review
Wow! Just wow! The whole complex is amazing! Set nestled in the Alps, you can see why the founders felt they would be close to God here. There is a nice little gift shop, a regionally famous brewery, and a church with exquisite frescoes and sculptures. The Dome inside the church alone, is worth the drive. If you go here, see if you can spot the unicorn :-) I highly recommend it!

The abbey is breathtaking and pulled emotions out of me that I’ve never felt inside any other church. It’s free to go inside the abbey and the gift shop has many beautiful items. If you’re in the area, this is well worth a stop.

Beautiful monastery in the Bavarian mountains. Great for a one day hiking trip. You can take a longer round trip between Ettal and Oberammergau and enjoy the beautiful views of the monastery from the forest on your way back. On your way back stop and take a break at the Kloster restaurant. Very tasty food with good service and beautiful design.

Ettal Abbey is surrounded by beautiful mountains and waterfalls! We enjoyed walking around the compound and just enjoying the fresh air. There is a shop within the compound that has beer that is brewed there and outside of the compound there is a cheese shop. We spent around an hour there and the stop was well worth it.

The Ettal Abbey is a great stop. Very picturesque views of the Abbey can be had from a couple small hotels (best from Blaue Gams) on the western side. Blaue Gams is a fantastic hotel and restaurant too. Had a very memorable stay here (views, tranquility, and a classic Bavarian experience). Well worth a side trip from Neuschwanstein or Oberammergau.

Located very close to the Garmisch region of Bavaria this place is an Architectural masterpiece. It is said that the foundation originally consisted of a Benedictine double monastery – a community for men and another for women – and also a house of the Teutonic Knights.
The original Gothic abbey church, built between 1330 and 1370, was a modest structure in comparison to the great churches of medieval Bavaria. The inside of this church is majestic in every way and has a beautiful acoustic sound effect. The monastery runs a brewery, a distillery, a bookstore, an art publishing house, a hotel, a cheese factory joint venture, and several smaller companies. The distillery produces Ettaler Kloster Liqueur. Please note ttr Café inside the Ettal is now closed till Easter. Huge parking area around and also places to eat.

A really wonderful place. Sit by the lake maybe even have a picnic. Better to go early during the week when it’s not so full of people. Also popular among natives to Munich. On a good clear day you can see the mountains past the lake.

Andechs Monastery is a hilltop pilgrimage center in southern Bavaria that was established in the 10th century. It is renowned for its Benedictine monks' famous ales, and many tourists visit to sample them. The site attracts large crowds on weekends, but its stunning beauty remains a must-see attraction. Ettal, another picturesque location nearby, offers excellent hiking opportunities with ample parking facilities.
Gorgeous church. You go to Tutzing and take bus 958 which drops you at the base of Andechs. A long incline to walk up. It has a tower that has 13 flights of steps for €1.00. Their food opens at 11:00 and they have superb Haxen. Beer is great. Get there before 12:00 or few seats left.

Loved the beer and pork knuckle! We popped by on our way down from Munich to St. Anton. Will love to head back for more beer in the summer!
J K (JK) — Google review
I know some people think this place is too tourist, and mass production factory, but I enjoy it...and usually come early before the rush.
Arrive well before noon, ideally 11am...that is when the restaurant opens.
Share a litre beer, share a pork knuckle...they are large and sharing the cost makes it a bit better.
The whole monastery is not open to the public, but the baroque style layout of the church is worth a visit. Slip into the small chapel to tge side, and say a pray of thanks.
Pick a good day, even during the weekdays 80% of the tables are occupied by 12noon

I wish I could rate the Monastery on multiple levels, as a pilgrimage site, a brewery and a restaurant. I hope my pictures do justice to what you will see in the Monastery. A beautifu , prayerful environment. Well worth the time to visit and to refresh yourself spiritually and bodily.

Andechs Monastery was nice. Many people on Sunday. Few restaurants around. Self services and serve by waiter also available but require advance booking otherwise not even half seat available for you. But can always go to self service side. Definitely have to try their beer. Very good and smooth. Their alcohol free beer tasted like real beer and smooth. The monks did a very good job in making the beer. However the cheese made by monk is not easy to find. I couldn’t get to try one. Their pork knuckle are huge! I couldn’t finish. Have to bring another half back home. They have paper bag for you to put the food to take away if can’t finish. Their pretzel 🥨 also very big. However their potato salad don’t looks attractive but their taste very good when eat with sausage and pork knuckle.
Andechs Monastery located on top of hill and they have really nice view too. Many people cycling there but also big parking place to park your car and walk up to the hill with nice things around. Like their herbs (natural pharmacy herbs), their arts..

lovely castle with a lot of local and traditional decoration and souvenir. the canteen is really authentic, you have to wait in line for the canteen and surprisingly you can pay with card. what is interesting is that on the back of the castle? There is a park full of sculpture, dedicated to the art and beer drinking, which represent the local drinking culture

My two friends took me here for a bike ride from Munich. It is absolutely beautiful, the food served is beyond anything you'd get in any restaurant, the beer's are great (size and taste). Next time I'm in Germany, I'll be back and of course with my trustee companions

Very beautiful and peaceful place. The church is amazing. Baroque style 🤩. You can easily drive to the convent using the bus (951) directly from the train station. I lived in Bavaria for five years decades ago and it was such a treat to be able to return with Bavarian friends and show Andechs to my husband and young adult children.
The pretzels, obatzda (savory/tart cheese spread), and beer were delicious, it was so precious to see a service in the monastery cathedral and I found a beautiful little necklace in the giftshop.
Note the famous dopple bock type of beer invented by monks centuries ago which contains all the good ingredients needed to make bread. This was introduced in beer form so the monk's Lenten time fast (the fast in the days prior to celebrating Jesus Christ's death and resurrection at Easter) would not be interrupted.
Parking is free to this piece of historical Bavaria and Kloster Andechs is well worth the visit.

People say this is the place to get the best beer in Germany. I definitely had my best radler here on our trip. The food was also good and is served cafeteria style. You have a choice to hike from a nearby parking lot/bus station or you can hike all the way up from the town of Herrshing. It is a slightly difficult hike uphill through forest and a little bit of meadow. If you enjoy hiking then it will be worth it to you, if it’s a hot day just take the bus.

An absolute must if you are in the Munich area. A true highlight of our trip. It was rainy and cold when we visited so we didn't get to experience the biergartenbut inside was great too. Excellent beer and the food was one of a kind. Best meal we had the entire trip.

What an interesting place to visit. Outstanding monument of architecture with beautiful ornaments inside. Beautiful architecture and awesome art work inside. You can see the tower from far as it’s tall and located at very high hill. There's a lovely hiking trail from the nearby train station in Herrsching up to the monastery, definitely recommended to get that trail because that’s really lovely walk in green area.
When I was there, it was busy over the top. The beer was excellent as is all German beer, and the food was fantastic too. The Pilgrimage church is currently an active monastery so do watch thier closing times as are early due to prayer. The monastery has plenty of free parking however it's a bit of a short but steap walk from the parking.

Small church with nice but windy view from the tower for just 1€. Recommended if you don't have fear of heights. The wooden steps are really small the higher you get. I heard 200 steps overall.
Set amid a scenic, alpine lake, this popular site boasts indoor & outdoor thermal pools & a sauna.
The perfect spa day. The lake access on both the clothed and non clothed sides was fantastic! The saunas were clean, staff professional and helpful and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

This was an amazing experience. A beautiful location on the lake with gorgeous mountains in the background. For those who aren't German, it is most days an over 18, bathers off, experience, but don't let that put you off. The saunas were just remarkable....so many different ones, and I tried a sauna ritual, and a lovely staff member helped me work out what I should do.
Really a great part of our trip to Germany to try something so different and really fantastic to enjoy a beautiful location with a healthy sauna/spa

Amazing there experience with a lot of options for pools and sauna including a huge, beautiful sauna room. Regular aufguss schedule and direct access to the lake. All from the textile-free side! The only complaint, there's nowhere to drink water! You have to ask at one of the bars if you need it and you will because of all the sauna-ing!

Most of all I liked the view from the pool on the lake and Mountains.
There are several pools indoor with warm water and outdoor, high water slide for both children and adults.

Cool saunas, overall a nice location but very crowded and I can’t get it why people are okay with other people watching their naked children from 0 to 12-13 years old. It’s a cultural schock for me. Make sure you’re not attending a „family day“, as this way you will „enjoy“ not only naked adults, but also children

What an amazing location for a thermal spa! Huge car park and a short walk around the corner and up to the main spa building, which led into a huge atrium. Staff in reception were very friendly and helpful and we were soon in our way to the changing area. The saunas are all ‘textilfrei’ meaning that you aren’t allowed to wear any swimming clothing inside the sauna. You are obliged to sit inside towel. Plenty of saunas, various different temperatures and styles, cold plunge pools, warm swimming areas, a swim-up bar and a full restaurant were surrounded by hundreds of fully reclining loungers. All this in full view of the lake and towards the mountains. Idyllic!

Great spa with panoramic mountain view, if you're willing to pay the premium price. The lake is surrounded by 8-9 beautiful villages.. Starnberg being the biggest and most popular of them... where the lake also gets its name from.
There are many parks and bathing grounds around the entire lake too...some private some public.. though in the summers there's a problem of mosquitoes around the areas that are too green.
Dachau Palace, located at Kurfurst-Max-Emanuel-Platz 2 in Dachau, Germany, is a historic palace that was originally occupied by the rulers of Bavaria. The palace boasts an impressive garden with a diverse array of flowers and offers stunning views of the Munich area from its hilltop location. Despite its small size, the garden is well-maintained and kept clean with very few pests.
Lovely palace garden with a great view of Munich and the Alps.

Scenig garden at the top of Dachau, with views on Munich's "skyline" 😀. Beautiful flowers in the spring, amazing green tunnel in the summer!

The palace itself was closed an is only one small wing that appears to be open for banquets. The gardens however are open and beautiful! There is an amazing view of Dachau from the back terrace. Loved walking around the garden. Whole area is free to stroll.

Beautiful palace in Dachau located up on the mountain with beautiful views over the city of Dachau and towards Munich. One can easily spot the O2-Tower as well as the Allianz Arena on clear days you'll see the alpine range in the background.
Worth a visit during the whole year.
Especially also the gardens where a wide range of flowers and different sorts of apple trees are cultivated.

IMHO the best palace garden! Huge variety of flowers for such a small place, always clean and well-maintained. Magnificent view of Munich area because it is on top of a small hill, and for the same reason very few pests! Easily accessible with entrances on three sides. There is free Wi-Fi near the non-restaurant entrance. There is also a free public washroom in the back alley opposite St. Jakob church, next to a TEDi store. The palace itself isn't spectacular, as reflected in the cheap entrance fee. But there's a chill restaurant where you can dine inside.

A very sobering experience. There is a warning when entering that it's not recommended for 12 and under. I had my 14 year old granddaughter with me and wished that we skipped the last two rooms. Otherwise a great learning experience I'm glad we did. The entry is free of charge, but there are opportunities to donate some cash along the way.

I like to visit Dachau Castle ! Mostly when I have visitors. It’s a nice place to have coffee and desserts and of course to walk through the gardens of the castle . I am not sure if they offer visits to the castle. I don’t think so .
