Vieux-Lille is a vibrant area that boasts the intricate Old Stock Exchange from the 17th century. The region is bustling with activities, including redbrick houses, trendy cocktail bars, and restaurants that serve outdoor dining. Notable landmarks in Vieux-Lille include the medieval Hospice Comtesse Museum, Porte de Gand monument, and the impressive Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille Cathedral from the 19th century.
Lille's contemporary architectural attraction, the Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille Cathedral, is a grand 19th-century structure built in 13th-century Gothic style. It houses a crypt and a sacred art museum showcasing pieces by notable artists like Warhol and Baselitz. Construction of the cathedral was slow due to wars and financial limitations but was eventually completed in the 1990s.
I absolutely adored this cathedral. I had never seen a modern cathedral before. It was full of light. The art displayed was modern. If you are in the area, do take the time to visit.
Amandine Orecchioni — Google review
This cathedral is big and different. The style you will encounter is gothic and to be honest it did not excite me too much.
After the destruction suffered by the war, the restoration that took place was a failure for me (externally) in the interior, some of the old parts of the temple have remained, but it is still a little .... different, I would say.
There are also crypts in the ministry of the temple, but unfortunately when we visited it they were closed.
Kerry Cole — Google review
This cathedral is like the French smalltown version of La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. A cathedral in name, but not spirit, under construction for an incredibly long time and with a jarring mix of architectural styles that don't work well together. Like someone couldn't quite decide what they wanted it to look like.
Apparently, part of this building was destroyed during the war and has been under construction/renovation since, until the late 90s when they added the positively awful façade that so many people dislike. It reminded me of 20th-century Anglican churches in England.
In a sense, it would be important not to judge a book by its cover, because yes, the exterior is pretty ugly. But inside is interesting with nice light, and much more neo-Gothic architecture and style.
The chapel is the prettiest section. Interestingly, and possibly weird, is the addition of modern art sprinkled sporadically around and very odd lighting choices (neon red is certainly a peculiar artistic choice). It's not very cohesive, so if you are looking for a traditional French cathedral, it's best to look elsewhere. But if you want something a little different, the interior is worth a look. And you have to love Jeanne d'Arc having such a prominent statue.
It is not very big and won't take a great deal of time to explore. If you have nothing else to do or are just wandering in the area, I would suggest a peek inside, but I don't think it's worth a special trip just to see it.

Absolutely stunning. Completely different on the outside but wow! Modern touches to the historical nature of the Cathedral. A must see
Paula Vance — Google review
Beautiful cathedral .
The outside is absolutely magnificent
Inside it is so beautiful you can't help but enjoy
The carvings.paintings and sculptures
And the stained glass windows are absolutely breathtaking...
While taking a look inside look up at the architecture and it's arches they are amazing...

Really big, modern cathedral. Nice painted windows.
Sander Hoogendoorn — Google review
A delightful cathedral whose architectural and artistic styles stretch from gothic to contemporary. One is able to look inside as a tourist for free. There is a welcoming feel. The interior, like the exterior, demonstrates the mixture of styles that the church has witnessed through the centuries.

A wonderful neogothic cathedral in Lille. The modern facade was later added to give a beautiful allure to the place. We were a bit deceived to find it closed so we weren’t able to check the interior
Globetrot With Mikalys — Google review
Surprisingly basic but beautiful. Concrete pillars. No music playing however you could imagine strong sounds coming from the multi tiered organ pipes.

It’s very nice inside and out.
I’m not a fan of the front renovation but oh well.
Nicolas Widart — Google review
Lovely cathedral. Outside has building works ongoing when visiting so couldn't appreciate exterior. But interior is very impressive
Raghuvir Ladva — Google review
Impressive temple with incredible vitraux windows. We were in Lille for a day so we had to visit Notre Dame de la Treille cathedral. The outside is not your typical xatholic temple style, but it's nice! The inside was beautiful and the vitraux windows are amazing! Definitely worth a visit while in Lille!
Michael Stavrakakis — Google review
A very beautiful and different cathedral to visit. I have been in several cathedral during the years but this specific one was totally different. You can see modern art inside of it instead of the classic cold statues. Very beautiful vitros and in general a very interesting visit. It wasn’t cold inside and the place was maintained very well.
Vasilis Skarleas — Google review
Nice cathedral, a mix of modern and gothic style. The inside is impressive, particularly when lit by the sun through the stained glass windows. Useful information boards in French and English. Free entry and well worth a visit.
James Lane — Google review
For me personally whilst not the most attractive from the exterior having been modernised in parts, even so this does not distract from it being a place of wonderful enchantment and worship. To enter is free although there are points to make donations of which I would encourage. The interior is most impressive and one of the most beautiful gothic cathedrals I’ve visited. We visited both in the evening and then again during the day light to see daylight streaming through the stunning stained glass windows. A must see when visiting Lille.
Lisa Sullivan — Google review
Spectacular cathedral in the gothic style. Some renovation going on outside, but still very well worth a visit.

Interesting to see the different building styles. Crypt was not open yet sadly, would like to have seen that
Grand Place, also known as Place du General de Gaulle, is a renowned square in Old Lille characterized by impressive architecture and an expansive terrace dotted with restaurants. It features a remarkable monument and fountain that add to its allure. The Grand Hotel Bellevue - Grand Place, located within this vibrant area, showcases Flemish-style architecture and offers elegant accommodations with marble bathrooms and antique furniture.
The heart of Lille! Great place to walk around and feel the city's vibe. There is always something going on here, and big events such as the Xmas Ferris Wheel and the Video mapping Festival are held here.

Very beautiful, the beggars can be annoying, don't give them anything and pay attention to your bag cause they can have one sneak behind you to steal stuff from your bags. Otherwise enjoy this place.

Grand Place
General Charles de Gaulle Square is historically the central square of the city of Lille and houses the largest market in the area.
Nice architecture, with many beautiful buildings around it. Cobbled streets that lead you to discover the magic that is hidden in the adjacent streets and the smallest alleys.
La Vieille Bourse in Lille is a stunning Renaissance stock exchange building located in the main square. Dating back to 1652, it boasts an ornate design with a courtyard and a campanile featuring a gold statue of Mercury. The courtyard itself is a lively hub with book stalls, chess players, street musicians, and even tango dancing on summer Sunday evenings. Eight permanent bouquinistes offer rare books, cinema posters, prints, maps, and comics from various eras.
My favourite building in Lille. Charming at any moment of the day or if the year!

Beautiful place to go by your own or to meet your friends. The atmosphere is amazing as you will see people walking by, meeting each other, dining around the cafe, some street performers and also some less fortunate ones. Looks really beautiful with the lights at night where you can just relax and feel the cool breeze.

It is the old stock exchange building with beautiful and unique architecture located right in front of the opera building in the square. Today it is used for eating and shopping purposes.
G?kalp Aksekili — Google review
An amazing historic place that used to be a stock exchange. In the arched courtyard surrounded by little houses you can buy items of interest (posters/books/music disks etc.).
But what truly makes this place amazing in my opinion is the chess community that you can encounter in the mid afternoon that fills the atmosphere with unique ambience!
Fazli Shermatov — Google review
The old stock exchange (former building of the Lille Chamber of Commerce and Industry) is a very interesting building near the Grand Place. In the courtyard inside, there is a market selling second-hand books, old posters, toys, etc. Worth a look, it gets very busy on weekends and holidays.

A book market is held in the court of the red building. The architecture is very amazing and the atmosphere was quite nice

There are some very beautiful buildings around the area. Lille is a cute and small city. Those who live here call it a mini Paris. I liked being there. You need one day to visit the important points of interest and there is no real need to spend a night here. I strongly suggest a walking tour.

Located in a splendid building of Belle Epoque style from 1892, the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille houses an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures, and drawings spanning from ancient times to the 21st century. As one of France's largest fine arts museums, it contains true masterpieces such as Jacques-Louis David's "Belisaire asking for alms," Picasso's "Olga with fur collar," and Eugene Delacroix's "Medea.
Brilliant space and some amazing art. The Goya Experience is well worth the trip while it's there.
Peter Schmidt — Google review
We really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The building is beautiful inside and out. Some of the paintings are huge and we love the relief room. It was really nice to see students drawing around the building. Plenty of interesting and unique sculptures.
Simon Chapman — Google review
Amazing building and some interesting paintings. For me, the most interesting was the city plans in the basement... Amazing detail. There are 14 city plans, I guess the precursor to Google maps, but done with astonishing detail and accuracy.
Martin Alemann — Google review
I love this collection in Lille and try to visit whenever we're in town. There are good collections of middle age, early modern, XII, XIII and XIX art with also some interesting XX work. There is a significant sculpture hall and a hall of decorative arts, mostly ceramics. Interestingly in the basement are large scale 3d maps of frontier towns that I assume were for XII, XIII and XIX military planning. There's also a neat cafe on site so you can rest your legs!
Paul Burrows — Google review
Exhibition was really impressive. Connection between art and games/digital world also was really interesting. I’ve spent about an hour there with my friends and we really enjoyed it.
Szymon Ryszka — Google review
Lovely visit with a limited number of other people there. We visited early and spent approximately 3 hours in the building. Lots to see and marvel at. Only criticism is the slightly chaotic signage which doesn't let the visit flow.
Steve Cottrell — Google review
Headphones which you can listen about the items are out because of COVID. Which is understandable. But every museum offers a replacement (a booklet, an app, a mobile website etc) but Palais des Beaux Arts does not.
There's no translation of any signs, so if you don't know French don't bother visiting because you'll not get any additional information.

Fabulous selection of art in a beautiful space. Very quiet and imaginatively presented temporary collection. We had two hours, could have spent twice that there...

The museum is quite interesting incorporating video games as part of its main collection. I love the Impressionist collection that the museum has. The sculptures are quite amazing as well. A video mapping in the lower level restoring the samples of the actual sculptures are very entertaining to watch as well.

Honestly. Only entered this building because I need led to defecate. Which in itself was well worth the entry price, but I digress.
After exiting the toilets, found the gallery to be rather enjoyable. With several exhibits that were truly notable and worthy of the entry price in their own right.
Anyway, whether in need of an epic dump or not, this is well worth a visit, even if you only have a passing interest in “art”.
Mike C — Google review
Enjoyable afternoon visiting here. The current exhibition of computer game design, linking it to the rest of the exhibits is very clever and helps make the design process of a game, and the study of historic art very relevant.
Worth a visit before it's gone.
Ben Case — Google review
Excellent museum in the heart of Lille that comprises several floors, unfortunately, due to the lack of time, I was only able to see the sculptures and pottery and the paintings. However, it was a great experience because the quality of the art is astounding. Here you will find works by Rubens, Goya, Monet and Ribera, among many others, apart from pottery from the most important porcelain factories in Europe, such as Meissen or Delft. An unmissable visit if you're in Lille. Highly recommend!
Carrière Wellington is a site of historical significance that features underground tunnels which were strategically used in 1917. The location offers guided tours and exhibits that provide detailed information about its history. Visitors can enjoy an educational and engaging experience with attention paid to small details to ensure a smooth visit. Guided tours are available in both French and English, with the guide effortlessly switching between languages to cater to their audience's level of understanding.
One of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time. Educational and engaging. One can notice that lots of attention has been paid to the small details to offer a smooth visitor experience.
The guided tour was offered in French and in English with our guide switching effortlessly between both and adapting the level of the explanations to the audience. We had kids with us and they were able to follow and understand everything.
The audio guides fragments provide complementary explanations and are nicely woven in the visit between the guide’s explanations.
All in all, a must do if you are in Arras!
PS: to the two young people working last Saturday morning, merci beaucoup!

A superbly presented experience of First World War history with a great mix of audiovisual presentation and in-person guide. The context of the site and time is well explained to allow the visitor to get the most from the experience. Be sure to visit the Wellington Tunnels if you are in Arras. After a short tour above ground, you go down in a lift to the tunnels. From here there is an audio guide as well as information for the tour guide themselves. Both are highly informative and give real depth to the men who inhabited the tunnels prior to the spring offensive of 1917.
A superb place to visit and extremely well presented.

This is a fantastic attraction. Medieval quarry that was forgotten and then rediscovered during WWI, which allowed the British to interconnect a whole swathe of quarries, under the Arras region. The tour is well-thought out and uses projectors and headset, to give information and act out soldiers' letters home, to really give a feel for what it must have been like, whilst waiting for the whistle to blow for the eventual attack that was launched on the German lines there. A worthwhile visit.
At the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial, visitors can walk through the original grass green trenches of war and experience the terror and loss endured by brave soldiers. The memorial also includes a visit to the Sir John Monash Center and the impressive Lochnagar mine crater. Additionally, visitors pay their respects at other significant sites such as Pozieres, Villers-Bretonneux, and the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing.
A great memorial for a fantastic bit of history. Had a delightful and informative free tour from Zoe that helped us to fully understand and appreciate the situation, battle and the landscape.

Such a beautiful park which has preserved the front lines as they were during the Battle of the Somme. Also there is a massive Caribou monument.
Greatest Moom — Google review
Well worth a visit, particularly if you are visiting Thiepval as this is very close. Great to get a view of the frontline trenches and scarred battlefield.

Beautiful and moving. There is a self-guided tour that does a great job of explaining the significance of the terrain, or if you’re lucky you may get a free tour by one of the staff there (they were offered every hour except the lunch hour the day we were there, and we just happened to come in that off hour). There is a good exhibition in the visitors center including a replica of the book of names in the chapel and a few first person accounts from the war.
A few tips:
1) eating is not allowed in the memorial area, but there are some picnic tables next to the parking lot. They were in full sun at 13:00.
2) the road in is not busy, so it’s fine for bikes though like the vast majority of the roads in this area there is no shoulder. Also it’s a wee climb.

Walk in the footsteps of these brave young men along the grass green original trenches of war! This is not only a memorial but an experience of the terror and loss of so many souls in a muddy unforgiving lonely far from home fear! The bronze caribou high on the hill with opened mouth almost crying out for all that have died and gone! Let it's cries be heard. Sleep well young men among the fields in France may your souls be blanketed in maple leaves and homely mountains from where you belong!

When you see the remains of the battlefield at Beaumont-Hamel, you realise the hell it must have been for the troops here. Only a matter of yards apart from the Germans, these young men were slaughtered for tiny gains. Their bravery and tenacity, however, is admirable. This site is very moving, and the Canadian students acting as guides for their four-month stints are friendly, informative, and helpful.

It's a fantastic and very moving battlefield of the Somme, run by the Canadian government with still intact British and German frontline fire trenches, cemeteries, monuments and more.

Well worth a visit, a beautifully maintained memorial space, shady and peaceful. Very informative free guided tour by Canadian students bilingual in French and English. Visited as a family with 2 children, ages 10 and 13 and they found it interesting and made them think and ask questions. Shout out to Jessica who was our fabulous guide which brought it all to life. There is a small, good museum plus clean toilets. No cafe or drinks facilities but we were not there for that. Opportunity to walk the front line trenches, and see no man's land. Great visit. PS it might feel like you are driving to nowhere but the satnav will get you there!

When visiting Vimy, a lovely helpful guide suggested we also visit here.
Absolutely brilliant, enthusiastic guides bring history to life.
Wonderfully organised.
The Thiepval Memorial to the Missing is a significant site where visitors can honor the fallen soldiers. It is part of a tour that includes other important locations such as the Windmill in Pozieres and the Australian National Memorial in Villers-Bretonneux. The day concludes with a visit to the impressive 13th century Cathedral of Amiens, which is known as the largest cathedral in France.
Underground museum exploring a soldier's life during WWI with tours, battlefield artifacts & a shop.
Must visit for history/WWI lovers!! Great collection and reconstruction of the horrible trench war.
Three recommendations:
1) remove the 3D, just show normal 2D.
2) show movie in french, but add english subtitle, so you don't have to wait for 15 mins everytime.
3) sell more souvenirs of tiny action figure soldiers.

Very interesting and unique underground museum. There is a lot of information (most of it available in English and German as well) to accompany artifacts from the war. The tunnels lead to a little gift shop and a very nicely maintained park. I learned a lot and highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Excellent museum with audio visual and actual exhibits of the battle of the Somme. The museum is in Albert is close to the front line and is next the Basilica which was raised to the ground before and after the battle. Very informative with English French ab German translations. The museum is built in an underground tunnel which gives an eerie feel but adds to it overall delivery. We’ll worth a visit as a starting point any SOMME tour as it sets the scene well and gives great context

Exceptional museum. There was detail and passion in the exhibits. It’s small and compact but has an authenticity that was well worth the visit.
Consider a visit to the nearby Lochnagar Crater for additional context.

Gosh where do I start, amazing, shocking, scary, it has it all. So touching to see all the artifacts some with bullet holes. Very well.laid out plenty of English titles as well as french. Very nice. If you want to get a feel for what took place around the Great War, this is a good place to visit. It’s built in an old air-raid shelter, a large under ground tunnel. This means that the place where you enter the museum is not the same as where you exit. So take note of where you park!

This place has so much information it's amazing. Places like this really should be a must go to, if u have any interest in the carnage of the first world war.
Even to this day more money must be spent on ways to destroy life, rather than preserving it.
The lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful, speaking brilliant English. Well worth the trip.

If you need to gain an understanding of the conditions humans waged war across France from 1914 to 1918, this is your first point to start. The entrance is a nondescript plain door squat beside the basilica, there is free parking nearby next the church, the foyer is tiny by museum standards, guarded by mounted cavalry, ranks of soldiers from regiments local and far flung. Canadians, South Africans, Australian, New Zealand, Algerian, French, German with British. On display are ranks of brass shell cases reworked into mundane or exotic vases, umbrella stands maybe works of art created from violence.
The museum is a long tunnel underground reached from a flight of brick stairs.
Case after case house the rusted war bric a brac parts of rifles, caltrop (vicious four way spikes designed to maim horses or foot soldiers) water canteens, parts of helmets. The story of the campaign local on the Somme or nearby focus on the regiments, tactics and technology used by the different forces, numerous oiled rifles, French, British, American. Bullets, machines guns; trench construction, living conditions. Finally a gruesome run-through tunnel the loud sounds explosions of war you'll not wander along but run for your life.

Very unique and interesting museum in the centre of Albert. There are some steep stairs to get down to the museum so could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Didn't notice if they had a lift or not.
Unusual layout in that it uses the tunnels from WW2 to show all the exhibits. Lots of interesting items to see from the British, French and German armies of The Somme conflict.
Very much worth a visit.

One of the most important bell towers in France, interesting giants inside and bell carillon, stunning views on top.
Access from left tunnel crossing the Town Hall building from front and back streets, check timetable to visit. Visits are guided by a kind clerk who seems coming out from the middle age.
If the beffroi is closed (use to while the guide is on visit) tickets can be purchased also at the tourist office at 100m at Place d'Armes.

The Mining History Centre is a former colliery that has been transformed into a museum showcasing the history of mining in the region. Visitors can explore the underground tours and view the machinery used during that time. The experience is realistic, transporting visitors back in time. Plan for at least 3 hours to fully appreciate everything on offer and wear comfortable shoes as it involves walking. The museum also offers a small souvenir shop and many activities suitable for all ages throughout the year.
Great attraction showing how minig has changed through the ages. Includes information on how the miners worked and lived. Well presented and a great day out.

We liked our visit at the museum. Everything is in French and they offer an audio tour in several languages.
The audio tour is not quite tourist-childfriendly because of the highly detailed information, but our 8yr old picked up enough to get a grasp of what she was seeing.
The guided tour through the reconstructed mine is very nice to see for all ages. It gives a really nice impression of life down the mines.

I never thought that I could enjoy this type of visit that much.
The museum is so realistic, you have the feeling of going back to the past.
Count minimum 3hours for a full visit and wear comfortable shoes, it's important.🤪
There's a small shop for souvenirs, many other activities for almost all ages throughout the year.
If you're visiting the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, then you should definitely stop by this museum. It's worth your curiosity especially if you like history though this one isn't a joyful one.
To those who have read "Germinal" of Emile Zola, this museum is the best way to feel like you were present in those days, meanwhile many of us weren't even born when it all happened.😊
Nancy Moussima — Google review
Really nice museum, with a very nice collection.
There are lots of stuff and info for small and big.
The entry to the "mine" is very informative.
If you plan to go plan atleast three hours to have time enough to get all the information. We spent nearly three hours with two children and did not manage to see it all.
The reason for only 4 stars is the missing information in English in the permanent exhibition.

The Museum of the Great War, an up-to-date establishment created by Ciriani, showcases both military and civilian memorabilia from World War I. The museum provides a pleasant experience as there are plenty of intriguing artifacts on display and a well-planned timeline. Additionally, the informative film about the conflict adds to the richness of information provided in this excellent museum. Notably, there is also a good account of the castle's historical background presented in conjunction with its role during WWI within the museum.
Excellent museum full of interactive activities and memorabilias available. Good for all generations.

The highlights were Otto Dix's graphical work, depicting the horrors of the trenches. Five stars!
And then the movie at the entrance, going through, summing up the patchwork of alliances and unions of countries, kingdoms, states that existed / made up a very different picture of the Europe we know now. Interesting!
The rest resampled a motley collection of uniforms and curiosities.
Jan W — Google review
An excellent adventure into the minds and lives of those who fought in and lived through the great war. Also, comparing the recruitment strategies used in their desperation to the American recruitment strategies was very enlightening and a bit funny.
The Dix collection is a must-see: it privides a raw, heart-rending venture into the tormented mind of a brave soul who fought both enemies internally and externally. I am truly grateful to have experienced this. (Out of respect, I did not take pictures, plus I may have been a little rattled).
Donae Walker — Google review
I found the building in which the Museum is based more interesting than the Museum itself. The cafe was closed when we were here (not mentioned on the entrance sign, it's being rebuild), and interactive displays were turned off due to Covid, including VR headsets, bit strange since in the Verdun Museum, similar headsets were active and cleaned.
Was hoping to see a bit more interesting stuff, but felt more like a library, lot of empty spaces and no character. Boring imo.

very well done, if a bit word dense, ww1 museum. fantastic display of different equipment and uniforms juxtaposed with propaganda posters and art from all parties involved.

Fantastic museum at Peronne. It's well worth visiting.
Really informative exhibits, and a few bits and pieces can be touched and encouraged to try on, like helmets & body armour.
I'd recommend buying a joint ticket with the Thiepval Museum as it is a lot cheaper to get them together; they also offer a discount for service personnel or veterans.
There is a free car park outside and many restaurants on the main square just in front of the main entrance.

This is a really great museum and a lovely facility for visitors to Peronne. The castle’s history is interesting in itself and the WW1 exhibits, films and collections were just what we wanted. One 30 minute film was only in French but not sure what we could’ve done about that! Otherwise English and German translations were available. €10 entry for adults. Bike racks would be an improvement.
Julie Abel — Google review
It is a good museum for familys and children. It never gets too bloody (except for the part by the german painter...hush hush kids) and it has a good storyline and explains many things in a way which is easy to understand.WW1 nerds and techfreaks will probably miss some hardware and more tactically orientated storyline. They can take it as a supplement to other places ,and enjoy the exhibitions of uniforms plus gear. The museum-shop has a lot of cartoons (plus books and stuff) about the great war in French.

The Museum of Fine Arts in Valenciennes is a remarkable establishment showcasing French and Flemish artworks spanning from the Middle Ages up until the 20th century. The museum boasts an extensive collection of Dutch old masters, as well as pieces by local artists and renowned later artists. Sculptures by Carpaux are particularly noteworthy. Visitors can enjoy uninterrupted views of Rubens creations during off-season visits which typically last between two to three hours without breaking the bank on admission fees.
Marvellous Fine Art museum with quality patients and sculpture sympathetically arranged in a light and airy building.

A fantastic museum with a huge number of Dutch old masters along with pictures from local artists and a few well known later artists. The Carpaux sculptures are special.
Go during the off season and you will get a room full of Rubens to yourself. Not expensive to get in and easily worth 2 to 3 hours.
There is a small exhibition of archeology downstairs.

1 Pl. Corbault, 60400 Noyon, France
I'll never travel to Reims without this trip planner again
The Basilique du Saint-Quentin is a remarkable example of Gothic architecture in France. Its towering spires and intricate details are classic features of this style. The Gothic architecture here is known for its pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses, which give the church its impressive and grand appearance. Inside, the high ceilings and large stained glass windows, typical of the Gothic period, create a sense of awe and spirituality. It's a perfect place to appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of medieval architecture while experiencing a peaceful and reverent atmosphere. This basilica is a true gem for Gothic architecture enthusiasts.

This is a wonderful building if rather surprising slightly “unfinished” inside. The stories associated with it are compelling both ancient and modern. For it to rise again from the devastation of WW1 is amazing. I am trying not to be too British, but we were disappointed that there were no descriptions in any other language than French which in effect hides the wonder of this building from many international visitors.

Amazing place. Steeped in history and with a rich past. Our expectations were low because from the drive up to it, it looked like a crumbling ruin. In reality it’s a stunning site, with many areas restored carefully to make visiting these areas very exciting. I loved that even as a ruin, I found graffiti on some stones from WWI right back to 1799. I bet there is some even older to give an indication of people being at this Chateaux since 920. In fact the whole town is walled and protected by towers and makes for a fascinating visit. There are some cramped and tight spiral steps to get up some of the towers and a lot of the ground is uneven in places so accessibility would be an issue. There is a proper reception area with souvenirs and they accept payment by cash and card. We spent 1.5 hours there and were really blown away by the size and quality of the site. Would highly recommend.

Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Laon is a stunning example of Gothic architecture, renowned for its rose window and towering structure. The cathedral, built between the 12th and 13th centuries, has influenced the design of other cathedrals. Exploring the narrow cobblestone streets around the cathedral reveals charming cafes, shops, and peaceful squares. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views from the city walls. Inside, visitors can admire various additions made to the cathedral over the centuries.
Very interesting structure. Fun to find all the animals on it. Towers unlike any I'd seen before. Definitely worth going inside. Tourist information right next door is good to look through.

Amazing gem in that part of France. It was first built in the 8th century, and then the new cathedral was built between 1155 and 1235. More parts of the building were added in the following centuries to be seen in the present form. It was cold inside on a January day, but on a rainy day one can enjoy so much being inside.

Center Parcs Le Lac d'Ailette is a vibrant resort located just 2 hours from Paris and 1 hour and 30 minutes from Roissy CDG airport. Nestled in an expansive 80-hectare forest, the resort centers around a sprawling 140-hectare lake with a pristine white sand beach. The cottages offer bright and cozy accommodations, some with stunning west-facing views of the river for picturesque sunsets.
Amazing place, beautiful little houses to stay in. The bus that works within the park is like a little cartoon van that moves as fast as a giant sea turtle but the kids found that cute too. Everything was a bit pricey but that was to be expected for France. Overall really nice experience.
Samvel Rubenian — Google review
Beautiful park. But that's it. Houses lack maintenance and half the inventory is missing. There are just too many issues with the house to report it to the reception. And we got a recently redecorated one. And the staff... will make you wait. Most annoying example is when you try to take a visit to somewhere out of the park, don't expect a warm welcome back. They will have you wait behind a closed gate, even when another gate is open, you are not allowed to scan your bracelet and drive through. Why do they give me the bracelet for? Also, with the number of golf carts riding through the park this can not be considered as a car free park. The swimming pool is too small for the number of people in the park in the sense that there are far too few seats. You have to dump your towels and bags somewhere and hope a seat or seats for your family will become available. Such a shame. It's a beautiful park and it begs for another visit. But the experience is underwhelming.

Had a great time. Cottages are well equipped, and all facilities are clean and functioning.
Beautiful surroundings, helpful staff.
A few of the fixtures in the cottage needed a bit of light repair, but nothing major.
All in all, we had a fantastic family holiday.
James Bettell — Google review
Great facilities for families and an undeniably beautiful location to which we will no doubt return.
I will say that the cottages are older and less well equipped than some of the other locations and that some of the basics of cleanliness and maintenance were regularly lacking.
The first cottage they offered us was unacceptably dirty and the second one didn't have enough rooms, the third however was excellent with a west facing view over the river (great for the sunset each night).
We decided to extend our stay and whilst we couldn't keep our original cottage they were super helpful in finding one that was very close.
One other point to note, the pool (Aquamundo) gets incredibly busy at certain times, to the point of being uncomfortable, especially if you have little ones. We noticed Saturday and Sunday afternoons as the worst and weekdays mornings as the quietest.
If you are willing to negotiate your location and work around the busy times at the pool I would 100% recommend booking a trip here.
Jason Smith — Google review
Lovely place to spend family or friend holidays. Interior swimming pools make it compatible for all seasons. Our teenage children love it! Safe and secure, bike riding is a nice activity.
Just be apprehensive the day of departure: restaurants are crowded so you should anticipate if you intend to eat lunch there before leaving (time to leave your cottage is 10.00).
One of my preferred domains.
Penny Spyropoulou — Google review
We had a very good experience here. Our cottage was clean and well-equipped. There were enough activities, especially for the kids (indoors and outdoors). The staff was friendly and always ready to help.
Only negative point: the sidewalks are very small or non-existent, which makes it difficult for pedestrians to walk.
Tite Yokossi — Google review
The accommodation we booked was a Premium cottage lake view and for 6 of us (4 adults, 2 children), it was very small. The bedrooms were small and one double was in fact a twin with a sponge for a mattress, the living area was compact, the 2nd shower was downstairs when we thought it was en suite, the lack of simple items such as a shower mat for the bathroom on the floor was disappointing? The pool area also felt a little tired and had no real adrenalin slides that you’d expect, overall it felt underwhelming compared to Center Parcs in the UK.
The location and setting however was stunning and very tranquil with the cost of the activities and on site restaurants feeling fair in the main.
I’d probably not return due to some of the basics and explore another site next but the one point that would make me return is the area, it is beautiful and the lake makes the holiday so peaceful, as it can be with an 11 & 9 year old.

This centre Parcs is starting to show age and expect it to be refurbished soon. Furniture, terrace and kitchen starting to age and need replacement. Would have given a better review of the service but unfortunately the main building including restaurants did not have water for a couple of days. This meant that they had to ration the water around the restaurants which meant they had to shut some of them down. Also brackets were not working and not opening doors until fixed which wasted a lot of time and for us to enjoy the break.
Ahmed Shawky — Google review
Swimming pool is great but the housing is due for a huge renovation. Cutlery is almost non-existent, fridge half broken down, heating not very performant, and the restaurants do not have half their menu or quality is subpar

One of the best center park I have visited with my kids. Location on a lake is nice. Activities are fully. I gave 4 stars because their price is too high. Please do not go for dinner in the pizzeria. Pizza there is frozen and badly warm up in oven and too too too expensive (15eur each)

We recently returned from staying in lodge 67. We paid over 3000EUR to stay in a very run down, poorly maintained property. The kitchen was awful, all broken, barely usable appliances, the bedrooms were terrible most having significant mould. One was so bad we decided our children (3 and 6 years old) shouldn't be sleeping in there for 10 days. Instead we put them in a room with as least mould as possible however it failed to have a curtain so improvised with our own towel (see pictures). We complained whilst on site and was told they'll send someone to sort it out. Someone turned up and laughed that there's nothing they can do.
I would encourage anyone to avoid staying here. It's a very run down site, poor customer service and clearly a lack of attention from Management to solve some bad issues.

Brilliant holiday in a wonderful lake with beach setting, which is a refreshing change from the usual CP forests. Boarding options add so much more to the experience. It's an absolutely stunning place. Some of the accommodation is a little tired, but not at all dirty.

We very much enjoyed our stay there. It was really relaxing. The outdoor swimming pool was just amazing! Warm water and enjoyed the sunset view on the lake was just like a dream

A lovely place where you can either stay on site or explore the local area, we went went on a bike ride which was pretty much all cycle paths. We've two boys, 14 and 11, and they loved the slides and fast river. The accommodation was comfortable, lakeside position lovely although a shame we could not swim in the lake. In fact the lake was disappointing.

Although the park is a little tired in places, I had a very pleasant stay here with my family. The location is picturesque. The staff are very friendly. The swimming pool is great fun. There is room for improvement, of course. The sports hall seems underutilized. Not enough badminton nets and no way of booking them. There is also no padel. The Macdonald's does not serve vegetarian for some odd reason. Disappointingly, unlike at other Center Parcs, cars seem to be able to drive round the site freely and so it is not as child friendly as other sites. We only ate out once at an Italian restaurant and the food was quite reasonable. Would definitely come here again given we paid around £970 for a week with a lake side premier apartment.

Not enough staff so long waits for activities. Cabin was great has everything you need (except an oven) but means you can cook a lot for yourself. Carrefour in Laon is not far to drive. Swimming pool is great even when busy there is enough space. Lots of activities can be booked but booking system a bit temperamental.

Just returned home from a Monday to Friday stay with our family. Even tho we had a fairly enjoyable stay we did leave with the feeling it could have been a lot better. The place is in a fantastic setting yet the park just feels tired the property we where in was nice yet needs some tlc, extract fans not working, window frames got mould, fresh bed with stained sheets (patches of blood) central heating just didn’t work properly, stale musky smell in the bathrooms, windows that didn’t close properly. We couldn’t help but Compare to other centre parcs we have stayed in the Uk this was all just a bit of a let down. The pricing at some of the food and drink places was very expensive €5.50 for a smaller than small latte. The children had a horrible experience on the high wire climbing/zipline, which is poorly managed and just a money grab they have to many booked at same time slot which slows the track down and unsupervised younger children, who no fault of there own get scared and can’t move forward then receive no help and yet the staff put more children on the adventure. Our children got stuck up there for nearly 2 hours and didn’t complete it. They don’t do refunds but they do credits to use elsewhere. Pony rides are only on weekends??? Easter special area wasn’t built or ready mass building area with machinery and heavy equipment with minimal health and safety no barriers etc. outdoor crazy golf shut, paintballing was shut everything just felt very messy. One of our children was told off by bowling bar staff for eating a small bag of crisps we brought from the shop upstairs, so you can only eat or buy extortionate rate items from the bar. Which was where they held all the evening entertainment, But our biggest and most frustrating and our view dangerous feature was the amount of cars driving around all day EVERYDAY, this doesn’t seem to be controlled or forced policy. We have always known Uk centres strict on this but here barriers remained up and cars just went about as normal very dangerous for the children riding around as standard cars thought they had right of way constantly. The swimming facilities where great and very clean so we did enjoy that aspect. It was a nice experience to try elsewhere but we have come away feeling rather cheated or let down as we really expected it to be the same from park to park. I don’t think we would return to this location, maybe we may try another in Europe but we will see I’d rather pay more to stay in the UK and know my children are safe from cars and risks that just seemed everywhere there.
Darren Jarrett — Google review
Extreamely overpriced and in need of more activities. 55 Euros for a 20 minute massage is insane. I will praise the bike rental team though as they were lovely and had somewhat fair pricing.
Alex Pye — Google review
We had a lake facing room which was beautiful ! We enjoyed our time sipping warm drinks on the porch. Found the rooms small and 3 - room cottage has only one room for adults and the other two for kids. The kitchen in the 3 bedroom cottage could have been bigger and better equipped.( there is no oven)
Aqua mundo is the highlight of this place - must spend 3-4 hours minimum every day!
Lots of outdoor and indoor activities…

Literally my favourite hotel in the entire world. It’s SO civilised. We’re emotionally attached as we got engaged here 26 years ago, have bought their house champagne Louis Casters all these years, have visited for anniversaries/ holidays/ Champagne visits and with our children every few years. It gets better each time - upgraded, more features, fab staff, modernised bathrooms - and yet reassuringly similar with its wonderful history and setting. No matter how many wonderful hotels I’ve stayed at in many, many countries I continue to just love it, exactly the right balance of history, luxury, little touches of glamour like stunning drapes, supersoft room cotton spa dressing gowns & deep room carpets, and just good enough on practically everything including offering a domestic courtesy charger for our electric car. Bravo to the team, we will return for sure!

Last week end, we had a lunch outside at the terrace facing the ruins of the old castle.
The lunch was truly delicious : refreshing hors d'oeuvre, meat perfectly cooked and a sublime dessert with a very good bottle of Wine!!
The service was prompt and all attendants were very dedicated to satisfy our wishes
After the lunch, we could stroll thru alleys planted with cherry blossom trees ( in full bloom) TRULY MAGNIFICENT!
We strongly recommand a stay at Chateau de Fere !!

A very well organized guided tour in French and a complete audioguide in other languages (english, spanish, portugese and german). Alois, our guide, was very well informed and interactive as well, letting us touch the old WW1 helmets of former soldiers. He managed to make a very somber history of the war into a very informative, interesting and sometimes funny way.
When visiting the Drachenhöhle, it's always best to bring your own jacket to warm yourself up as the temperature is always a constant 12°C. But even if you forgot to bring one, the nice staff will offer blankets before going into the cave/catacombs

Very interesting small museum, with an impressive old quarry beneath used as a shelter during The Great War. The guided tour is neccesary to view the cavern, and an audioguide is available for non-French speakers. This center is a must-see for anyone spending time on the Chemin des Dames.

Great tour of the Caverne du Dragon. Being fornthe UK we had audio guides which were great. The temperature is a steady 12°C year round, so in the summer you may want to bring a jumper especially for the little ones.

Wonderful experience. We were worried that the guided tour would only be in French, but right away they offered an immediate personal guided tour in English. (Not sure if they were less busy than normal or if they can always do this, but either way it was very nice.) The tour guide was very informative, charming, and funny. He knew everything about the site and the war, and explained it in a very fun way. He even gave me a little blanket to wear since I only had on a T-shirt (it’s cold down there). We learned a lot at this unique and special location. Highly recommended!

We visited this Place yeasterday for the journee du patrimoine. The receptionnist was welcoming. We had a amazing visit of the Caverne thanks to our guide Thibaut, who was dynamic, well informed and make us participate and with a touch a humor. If a historic Place that you must visit.
Ali Mohamed — Google review
An incredibly well done WWI museum inside a cave that was heavily used by both sides in the war.
They only do guided tours, but we only had to wait 20 minutes for one. We spoke English and the staff were very helpful. The guide does the tour in French (most of the visitors were French), but they had a comprehensive audio guide to go along with the tour.
The guide was still able to give us extra tidbits in English and let us try on helmets.
The tour covers the significance of the chemin de dames battles, how they were fought, and how they lived in the caves.
From just seeing the roadside signs, I was worried it was a toruist trap, but it ended up being quiet remarkable.
We also toured Verdun, and for its size, this tour stacked up well.
Last tip, the caves are 12C all year long, so bring a jacket.

Set in beautiful countryside, this site was hell on earth in Ww1 for the young men who fought and died there. Check times of tours as guided tours only of the tunnels. The Gothic cathedral Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Reims is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most iconic and beautiful architectural sights in all of France. The cathedral, which was built in the 13th century, features intricate stained glass windows and flying buttresses on all four sides. The cathedral is significant because it was the site of coronations for French kings from 1027 to 1825.
The cathedral is breath taking architecture and a wonder. I am trying to figure out, how could people from the past and would have appreciated the fact that this cathedral receives nowadays only or most of the time visitors? Where is faith gone? Where are the believers and Christians?
Ramata Sore — Google review
This church is stunning, the amount of detail work that’s gone into the statues which holds the record for the most figures in a church in the world is just magnificent. The glass work is eclectic and like non I’ve ever seen before, I can only imagine how it glimmers when the sun it’s the glass just right. This location is definitely the main attraction in the city and it’s definitely worth the visit.

Incredibly beautiful architecture...didn't know every French king had been crowned here. Younger yet bigger than Notre Dame in Paris. Definitely a must see.

Fantastic historical site. I am notbsure how it compares to the one in Paris since no one can get in there now, but there is a lot less people and the building is very well kept. All the details in the construction are simply amazing. No ticket needed.

The Cathedral of Notre-Dame of Reims is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. Its stunning façade, adorned with intricate sculptures, leaves a lasting impression. Inside, the grandeur of the nave, supported by elegant columns, is awe-inspiring. The stained glass windows, renowned for their artistry, cast a kaleidoscope of colors that bathe the interior in ethereal light. The cathedral's historical significance as the site of French royal coronations adds to its allure. Despite enduring damage during World War I, meticulous restoration has preserved its magnificence. A visit to this iconic cathedral is a journey through time and a testament to human craftsmanship and devotion. It's also free to enter but has a gift shop within which supports it's funding. Highly recommended!

This cathedral is absolutely beautiful, the staff were all very kind. I would definetly recommend visiting the cathedral if you are in Reims or surrounding areas. The cathedral is in stunning condition for being over 400 years old. Overall an amazing experience.
Hugo Potchebout — Google review
In love with our history, one day I had to visit the city of coronations and of course the cathedral. What a beautiful building filled with so much history, events. A magnificent construction. Huge and whose maintenance and restoration make it a beautiful monument dedicated to the Catholic religion and the coronations of our kings. A statue dedicated to Saint Joan of Arc is necessarily visible there. It's crowded but it's reasonable and then unlike some buildings of the same type, I found a great calm and a beautiful serenity all the same. To see without hesitation. For the duration of the visit everything depends on you, are you ready to read all the informative brochures? Are you a strong believer? So if you belong to one of two categories you will be the sole judge of your time. Otherwise in one hour you will have been able to observe the building.
Lo?c Digitiz — Google review
A nice church to visit while on the way to champagne country.
Our tour from Paris made a brief stop here, and it made for a bit of awe and introspection.
The building itself is adorned with hundreds of statues and statues holding statues. Inside, stained glass windows give everything an intentional tinge of pink and purple hues.
Near the back, there are relics of saints and several extravagant chapels.

The Cathedral of Reims is an architectural masterpiece! 🏰 Its stunning Gothic design and intricate details make it a must-visit in Reims. The cathedral's rich history and significance as the coronation site of French kings add to its allure. Don't forget to admire the beautiful stained glass windows and take in the grandeur of the interior. A true gem in the heart of Reims! 🌟

Amazing, if you are anywhere near Reims this is a site you shouldn't miss. It's easy to access, in a wonderfully peaceful area, and is as or more stunning than many cathedrals in the country. I could have spent days hearing about the historical coronations and critical events in the history of France that occurred at this site.

A true work of art, its size and architectural details simply take your breath away. One of the most beautiful and well-maintained cathedrals in France. Both the interior with the glass painting and the exterior with the architectural details are worth it, you will give them a good part of the time to be admired. Moreover, the cathedral can be visited with a guide in French, German, English.

Cathedral is a an absolute jewel of gothic architecture! If in Reims it’s definitely a must visit.
Great for architectural enthusiasts as well as religious pilgrims. Mass services are frequent and easy to find out.
It breathes history from medieval times, through coronations to modern post war truce meeting with German chancellor Adenauer.
My personal favorite is the smiling Angel on the outer facade.
As with every monument, expect renovations and parts of the interior/ exterior to be covered due to works.
A highlight compared to Paris is that it’s not too busy and you marvel at peace with no too many people pushing you.

Decided to head away from Paris for a day and drive out to REIMS. So glad we did as this place is an absolute gem. The cathedral from the outside is beyond words, absolutely stunning. We were lucky enough to visit when there was a service taking place and the sound of the choir within the high roof of the cathedral was joyous. Out of all the buildings we visited whilst in France this is the one.

Extremely nice building especially when you see its illuminated exterior in the evening, full of statues, big arches, colored windows, the French king was crowned here during the tumultuous years of Joan of Orleans, I think it is always good to go there, sit for a while and think... do not forget to see the Statue de Jeanne d'Arc in front door...

Amazing cathedral built in the Gothic style. Great history behind this cathedral. When visiting this Cathedral take a few minutes to sit on the benches across from the Cathedral to take in the magnificent architecture and the majestic views.
Entrance is free. I spent around 45 minutes inside - walking around admiring the architecture and also taking time to sit quietly and pray.
This is a must visit if you are in Paris. There are frequent trains.
The Basilica Saint-Remi is a Romanesque church located in the city of Reims, France. It is one of the oldest churches in the country and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The exterior of the church is Gothic, but the interior still retains elements of its original Romanesque structure.

The basilica has a particular design which I loved. And it reminds me of a tortoise.
The museum of the same name is just behind. And to be in communion with God, one could stay in the beautiful gardens and parcs surround the basilica. Those spots were my favorite. In addition, there was a parc of bikes to rent not far. However for a foreigner it was a bit hard to get those e-renting bikes as the process of rental logged out when we needed to register our credit card. There was not another way to rent a bike in the city. We then just enjoyed walking around.

Located in the heart of Reims, Champagne Taittinger is a renowned champagne house that offers custom tastings and guided tours of their historic cellars. Carved from Roman mines, these underground caves were used as an underground hospital during World War I and now serve as the perfect location for aging their wine.
Great place to visit to see some of the earliest champagne cellars. Very informative tour, available in English or French. The cellars are amazing in their scale and age. Millions of bottles of champagne are kept here. Highly recommended.

First thing: BRING A JACKET. The caves are kept at a brisk 11 degrees Celsius. That said, the tour was very enjoyable and the right length. Very informative in terms of the Taittinger brand and champagne-making itself. Their cave is very impressive in terms of its architecture, history, and aesthetic.

It’s a beautiful cellar but I found the tour a bit limiting and our tour guide did not have a good knowledge of the product (she said that there’s 36 grams of sugar in Champagne when a guest asked her). The tasting was pretty limited as well. An express description and people were ushered out quickly. I can only imagine how worse it gets during high season. For the amount we paid, it didn’t feel special. If you’re looking for a big wine house to visit, go to Pommery instead.

Pretty cool Champagne tour; however, our tour guide insinuated we had to leave with our little children as they were being too loud. He was completely oblivious of how difficult it is for us to raise two toddlers. Instead of being helpful, he made us feel unwelcome. We also went to Moet & Chandon and the tour guide was so much better…they even had the children partake in the tour and explained the Champagne making process even better. Tour guides at Taittinger need training on how to deal with families with small children or give us a tour with other families with small children.

We walked in around 10:30 and asked to join the next tour. We had to wait about 45min until the next available one. We took a small walk to a cafe very close to the gates while we waited. They had tours in English and French.
We choose the second most expensive option (43euro) which included tour + 1 glas of brut reserve + 1 glas comets de champagne (excellent choice!).
Tour started with a cinema presentation. After that down to cellars. The guide was very nice and explained the history of the house and the champagne process. The tour went through the same area where worker was doing their day to day business in the cellar which made the visit more interesting.
Tasting came as the last part and we got the opportunity to purchase bottle and other branded items.
The Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Visitors Center offers guided tours of their famous champagne house's chalk cellars, as well as tasting sessions and a gift shop. Great experience overall. Staff was well informed and taught me a lot about champagne in the process. The tasting was also very much worth it (4 tastings). We ordered two bottles of the 2015 vintage because we liked them so much. My only critique was that they should have had the cafe open. After the tasting, we wanted to stay longer to try more, but we couldn't because the cafe was closed due to the weather. So be careful if you visit when the weather isn't prefect.

Having come to Reims for a short break, I was excited at the thought of visiting the house of my favourite champagne. Upon checking with Google, we were informed that it was open to visitors. After the three mile trek from our hotel my dreams were soon quashed by the over glamorous receptionist who informed us that all the tours were booked for today and the visitors centre was closed, we were however free to browse the shop. The place looked empty, desolate in fact. The shop was ok, hideously over priced though. I’ll save up my club card points and grab a bargain when it’s on offer in the UK, with much less pomp. After all as I have been wisely reminded by the love of my life ‘it is only fizzy wine after all’.

The House and Cellars were amazing. 30 min tour was perfect for us as a non-French speaking couple. Didn’t understand much but the tour guide was open to questions. The best bit was obviously the tasting plus the Cheeses. Also tried the 2012 Vintage - needless to say, this left us in a very merry mood. Wish there was more of the house to explore but the Terrace was nice enough.

We had the most amazing tour here and got to see everything from the vines in the fields to the end result, and everything in between. I highly recommend the full 4-hour tour. Best thing we have done in Reims! Thank you to our guide, Marta (?). She was amazing!

I was worried at first. It’s very commercial on the surface and the general tasting area is down by the toilets. Not very glamorous and very busy. But the slightly more expensive tour gives you a bit of space and the tastings is in the caves. Really recommend upgrading!

This was my second champagne tasting experience. The cellar tour was good. The big disappointment was tasting at the end of the tour. Almost everyone in my group had dirty / used champagne glasses set neatly at their table. It was awful, to see finger and lip stains on these glasses meant for the tasting experience. Our guide got it changed but the quality meant to be experienced had already been ruined.

A good wine tour that primes your senses and then a great cheese and wine tasting in the caves. A bit chilly so bring a jacket if you're sensitive. Highly recommend the prestige tasting!

Simply lovely. Fantastic champagne. Take the tour and learn the history. Madame Clicquot was a very talented woman!
The tasting in the caves was over the top. Do not miss this.

We did the guided tour with cheese and it was so amazing Marta was a wonderful knowledgeable guide. The property is stunning and the cellars are incredibly clean. Definitely would recommend a trip but do buy tickets in advance.

The visit to the cellar was interesting. Learning about Widow Clicquot was very enlightening. I think since you have to be a certain age to visit the website, that same age limit should apply to visitors to the cellar. We had a sweet little girl on our tour. The guide did a wonderful job accommodating her but you can tell she felt out of place.
The tour was straight and to the point. We were lucky enough to taste a 6 year champagne and I now know the proper way to remove the cork on the champagne bottle

I had a wonderful tour with Emma on May 5th, 2024. She was very informative and made sure to provide enough time to answer any questions. Lovely tasting experience as well with four wines including (not including the most famous Yellow Label, which gives you the opportunity to try new ones)! The woman at the front desk in the afternoon until closing was absolutely LOVELY. She provided by far one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. She was so kind, helpful, and went above and beyond for every guest. The outdoors cafe was lovely as well with a lovely cheese plate option.

We visited for my girlfriends special birthday. It was a brilliant experience. The tone was set by the security guard when we arrived, he was super helpful and very courteous. The guided tour, the cafe and the boutique were superb and the staff were so helpful. The manager was very presentable and made sure our visit was as good as it could have been. Thank you so much.

Visited the famed Veuve Clicquot Cellars and came away with mixed feelings. Undoubtedly, the quarries underneath are a sight to behold, and the chalky environment maintaining the perfect humidity and freshness for the countless bottles is impressive. Tasting the champagne was a delightful experience. However, one can't shake off the feeling that much of its allure comes from pure marketing mastery. It might seem overrated for those looking beyond the brand's sheen. If you're in the area, I'd recommend taking a detour to explore other, possibly less-commercialized houses for a broader perspective. Overall, three stars

Honestly I was expecting the tour to be a bit of a tourist trap and be very generic, but I enjoyed the tour bit of this visit. We were led through the VC caves by the visitor center, where they share the history of the champagne house and the champagne making process. Interesting to hear all the background and see the infrastructure that allowed VC to continue production throughout even the world wars and other challenging periods.
Would recommend for people to check out with the tour. The cafe looked a bit gimmicky and overpriced.
The tasting itself was mediocre and they only gave one glass. Minus one star for that.

We had an amazing tour. The host was very friendly and informative. We did the tour undergrounds with 4 tastings (€75 pp). The only reason it’s not 5 stars for us is because we felt a bit hurried during the tasting. As they were pouring the first champagne, she was already explaining about the second one. We did not get time to finish our drinks (or drink as much as you’d like since 4 was a bit much to drink in one sitting). Maybe some bites would improve the tasting as well. However, as said, we did really enjoy it. The cellar was very impressive, the host knew all the answers to my questions and the smell experience was great! I really would recommend the tour.

Great tasting experience with a full cave tour, vineyard tour, production facility and chateau/garden tour.
This was a private experience and only had 5 of us with a private tour guide!
The caves were fascinating, the vineyard and garden tour were really nice and the tasting of La Grande Dame was Off. The. Hook!
This was 250/person but worth every penny as it was a solid 4 hour experience with a private educator!
Totally worth it!

We had an amazing tour. Our guide, Clemontine was very sweet and kind. I would highly recommend this tour, as it teaches you about the past and you get to drink vintage and non vintage rosé. We loved it
Vranken Pommery is a Champagne house that offers tours of its underground chalk cellars, followed by a tasting session. The estate was constructed in the 19th century and boasts an Elizabethan-style architecture. It is considered one of the most visually stunning estates to visit today. Vranken Pommery happens to be one of the largest Champagne houses, producing more than half a million cases yearly.
Due to the fact that this was my first champagne house to visit, I think it was a really nice experience. We took the self-guided tour and the companion mobile app was helpful, although not getting into the details. As for the tasting, we had the classic brut royal: fresh, crisp, citrusy, with hints of green apples; good overall, but not the best I've had.

Unless you reserve a guided tour in advance, you probably will be stuck doing the self-guided tour with the downloaded application. Once downloaded it’s fairly easy to use. Unlike others here, I found the art exhibit and lights distracting. I was more interested in the technical and historical details which I found out later were provided in the available literature. In the end, the Champagne was excellent and really what I came here for. Likely others won’t mind the art or lights.

This was a really great experience. We did the self guided tour and walked through the drives (cellar) and followed along with the hard copy guide provided. The cellars are so impressive and there is some incredible modern art juxtaposed with the long history of the cellars themselves. Highly recommend.

Vranken Pommery domain in Reims, France, offers an impressive self-guided tour of their vast wine cellar. The 18 km long cellar is a fascinating experience, topped off with a delightful glass of vintage grand cru Pommery champagne. A must-visit winery for champagne enthusiasts!

Visiting this cave every year on my birthday 😎 As in the other caves, you’ll learn about champagne making, with the added delight of savoring an excellent champagne. But that's not all; there is a modern art exhibition that evolves annually, adding a contemporary twist to the experience. And make sure not to overlook the annex building, where an additional exhibition awaits!! This cave is truly a gem. I usually swing by before lunch because, let's face it, champagne tastes better before noon – it's like breakfast but with bubbles! 😁

Well worth a visit! First tome visiting a Champagne maison. A bit commercialized and pricey but if you have not visited before I recommend. Tour of house and cave with two glass of champagne cost 42 eur

We came to Pommery because I had seen many videos about their beautiful caves, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed in the overall experience. We chose the self-guided tour, but there is not much explanation on the house, champagne process or anything. You just get to see a lot of the art pieces, but nothing related to the champagne itself. You get two glasses with your ticket, but barely no explanation on the champagnes you are tasting.

An experience of a lifetime. Even as you enter the domain you see how the people here have incorporated art along with their work and culture. A true blend of modern and contemporary way of making the champagne.
A shout out to Nais, for her guidance around the area.
The champagne as well is true to its taste and do not disappoint.
Must visit if going to the Reims region.

Excellent cellar to visit, probably one of the best in the region. Take either a tour with a guide or self tour. Some stunning art work in the cellars. High recommend this place

The caves are made from chalk which makes it beautifully cold down there and the prefect temperature for champagne making. Madame Pommery took spaces made by the government collection of chalk to build to create the perfect space for Champagne storage.
I learnt an important fact for all of the champagne lovers… the quality of champagne snd wine is better in a magnum… I have just given you a valid reason to purchase Magnums when drinking champagne! I Will be reminding Jordan of this regularly🥰
Pommery sort their bottles in individual cellars for different countries and people.
The artwork throughout the cave is incredible and always changing of you need an excuse to go again.
You really get an understanding of why champagne is special when you learn the process and time involved for each bottle.
After the climb back to the top we were greeted with the tasting of a Brut and a Vintage.
This was incredible and I highly suggest putting it on your list of you visit.

Truly incredible experience! We booked the Gastronomic Visit and loved it. The caves are spectacular, the tour was very informative and the 3 course lunch with matched champagnes was divine.

A wine that expresses its terroir is one that is as close to the grape itself as possible. That’s the only way I can pay tribute to the variety and the place, and the only way I can express my passion for this champagne house.
Vranken Pommery passes this respect for tradition on to future generations of winemakers, committed to producing fine, authentic wines.
The visit to the Vranken Pommery costed 24 euros without the guide and included a glass of champagne in the end.
Vranken Pommery has a philosophy of winemaking that respects tradition and the same is displayed in their champagne house tour.
It is a must thing to do when you visit Reims.

Visiting this wine cellar is one of the best experiences in my life. It’s a wonderful idea to let the customers not only see the cellars but also entertain themselves by placing a contemporary art exhibition inside. Champagne itself is fantastic! Very impressive. Book online in advance .

A fabulous tour of the caves and the artwork was breathtaking. Our guide was awesome, the entire space is a must-see and the tasting was great at the end.

Fantastic journey through the cellars. The art installations are a huge plus. The tastings were generous pours and delicious. I’d also recommend having lunch at the restaurant. A perfect way to end a morning tour.

Honestly, this was a tough spot to enjoy as a tourist. The price to experience to crowd to service ratio wasn’t hitting at all.
The app for the self guided tour wasn’t working. There were no signs in English. No arrows indicating direction. I honestly still couldn’t tell how champagne is made after this experience - I had to google it 😂

A bit more theme park than winery; it's worth the stop if you want a bit of wine and to tour an old home and very decorated caves. If you want to avoid crowds or want a more intimate experience, would skip this location.

Interesting experience for people who are not into alcohol in general, as there are many art pieces and it's more of an art gallery. Very reasonable price for the entry ticket. Suitable for children as well.

A pleasant dinner experience with welcoming service, not too many people and good food, well presented and price value was totally fine. Interesting architecture outside with oversized typical French park bank

Nice visit at Vranken Pommery. You will see the caveau, which is not so worderful as you may expect. Then you will visit ville Demoiselle, that is a fantastic example of art nuveau and art deco. The visit ends with a glass of very good champagne. It is mainly a visit at the the house rather that to a cave.

The self-guided tour of the cellar was ideal to visit with our kids. We could go at our own pace and focus on the things that were engaging to them while still learning the interesting history. When buying the ticket choose which champagne you'd like to sample at the end. Kids get a fizzy grape juice. Lovely reception space to relax and enjoy your tasting after exploring. Good shop.

The Pommery cellars in Reims are an outstanding experience! Many kilometers (sic!) of tunnels, ca. 30 meter down, always ca. 11 Celsius cold, full of impressive modern art installations and partly very old bottles. You can visit them also without appointment and without guided tour. Highly recommended!

Didn’t love the champagne. But the cellars are a reason to visit. We did a self guided tour, over the course of an hour, and it was wonderful. This is a great place to see the cellars of a large house, made all the more interesting by the imaginative art decorating the cellars, helping you spend even more time exploring underground. We recommend visiting
