The old village of Villefranche-sur-Mer is marvelous! It is one of the most beautiful medieval villages I have ever visited. The streets, passages, stone stairs, yellow and orange-painted houses, the discrete scent of jasmine, and sceneries of the sea are simply mind-blowing.

A unique place in Metz...
Placed in the heart of Metz not far from the cathedral..
A very friendly welcome. .and a bucolic terrace at the water’s edge. ..the only downside is the catering prices
15.50 a charcuterie board (not very extensive and not particularly high quality charcuterie (but good))
4 euros an orangina for example...
Too bad...in my opinion there is an effort to be made on this! Because it’s a really nice place!

In fact, with friends we reserved seats for a show at 9 p.m. We have never attended a show in a dedicated place in the middle of the city... We arrive at 9:07 p.m. (bad calculation in the ease of parking) the gentleman tells us dsl it has already started you can't go back ( I understand) I ask can you refund us? Oh wait, I ask, and then a manager tells us that it's not possible because you have to pay the actor for all that. Yes but it is not specified on the site that the doors will close at the start of the show so we cannot guess.
The gentleman told us yes but no you will not be reimbursed, after 10 minutes other people arrived in the same situation as us (in total 7 people) he repeated that it was not possible but sent an email to the site you will be reimbursed. To date, on-site managers have not responded to any emails and of course no refunds! Be careful if you have a problem!

Great selection of planes, helicopters, technology, flight gear and engines with detailed descriptions and all of that for a more than fair price. A place built up by a passionate person. Just be aware that the "Concorde", though imposing, is a replica being a "Concorde café", just in case you go there mainly for that bird. Anyway, I recommend this place to plane enthusiasts.

Very interesting płace for people interested in technology. Impressive collection of aircraft’s and components. Nice idea for time on fresh air as most of the exposition is outside.

Super museum! Good and special collection. Dogs allowed! Sorry that I only can give 5 stars... I wanted to give 6 stars...
Marco en Ilona — Google review
Many interesting exhibits to view particularly for me the massive Russian helicopter. Those outside have a weathered appearance which is understandable considering what's required to keep them clean. I'm unable to speak German and managed to read some of the information boards using a translation app although some boards were written in German and English. Interesting to see inside some of the old passenger planes and compare the space and comfort compared to nowadays.
Gary Killip — Google review
Simply amazing to see such amazing old aircraft being displayed in one place
Joshua de Bruijn — Google review
Wow, this museum!! It is a brilliant, and huge, collection of all sorts of varied planes, some I had never seen before. The outdoors are in typical outdoors condition but there are so many it's incredible, including some true beauties from all round Europe and the USA. Indoors the presentation is exceptional, with really intelligent use of space such as a wall-mounted F-104 Starfighter and some raised on stilts. Many aircraft have steps you can peer in the cockpit too. A must visit for this excellent collection.
The only negative is, as a photographer, the large fences (which are rare for an aviation museum) were often close to the aircraft and made the photography a bit hard.
Sam Wise — Google review
Lots of planes (50+), mostly 1950-1960 military aircraft. Was neat to be able to climb inside some of them and the kids had a blast getting up close.
Saturn 5 rocket on display was really neat.
Lot of US Air Force planes.
Most placards are both English/German.
The Concord out front is normally set up as a Cafe but closed due to COVID.
11€ Adults
6€ kids 4-11
3 and under free
They take card and cash.
Gary Sheppard — Google review
We had a wonderful day strolling through and seeing all the planes. They also have a few cars that were very cool as well. Great activity for little children who want to freely run around and explore. Before we left we made a stop at the Cafe which is inside an airplane! Very neat!

(Translated by Google) Very reasonable prices for decent “goods”.
Portions are sufficient for adults. Bolognese sauce like homemade. Giant Bockwurst definitely tastes great from the butcher. Potato salad also seems homemade. Latte macchiato, cherry crumble and apple cake very tasty and fresh!
All in all, a clear recommendation!
Apart from that, the zoo is really great. There is a large playground around the restaurant with everything your heart desires.

The staff was very friendly and in a good mood and the food didn't take long to arrive despite the mediocre number of visitors.
The food itself and the selection don't exactly keep up with a star restaurant, but we wouldn't expect that here either. For the type of "home cooking" there is, the taste is really delicious and we had nothing to complain about in terms of taste.

(Translated by Google) We have enjoyed visiting the Waldhaus Restaurant in the Daun Wildlife and Adventure Park for many years.
Now we have seen an innovation in the outdoor area for the first time,
that we really like:
Extra tables and seats are offered for those who have been vaccinated, tested negative or have recovered.
We finally feel protected at mealtimes and have plenty of seating to choose from.
Overall, this security area is very spacious and there are even covered seats.
At no time did we have the feeling that “unvaccinated people” were getting too close to us.
This group of people has also been taken into consideration: There is a covered seating area, even with a barbecue facility.
During our visit, however, we could observe from a distance that this area was completely overcrowded, probably also because of the rain.
We are very pleased about this successful project, and it would be nice if this demarcation could perhaps be extended to include the sanitary facilities available there. Better safe than sorry!
The irony of the story: Unfortunately, I couldn't rate the food today because I was no longer hungry due to spontaneous nausea and had to leave the park immediately.

However, the gastro is underground.
You don't expect much, but the schnitzel in "cream sauce" was the ultimate horror.
Sauce inedible because it was the cheapest ready-made bag, the schnitzel was soggy and out of the deep fryer.
Some of the chicken nuggets were still raw inside.
And unfortunately the whole thing was very primitive.

A superb discovery where you can help yourself to taste over 100 local wines from small to large producers at your own pace for €18 (or less if you have a Bernkastel guest pass). Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff (who very kindly spoke good English!) who were very helpful and not at all pushy to sell. You can then either buy a glass and enjoy there with a warm Pretzel, or purchase to take with you, all excellent value. A great way to introduce yourself to a wide range of Mosel wines.

Be sure to pay a visit to the impressive cellar. A good selection of Mosel wines can be bought. The wine guide was very enthusiastic. Prices for the wines are about the same as on the domains. Highly recommended for wine lovers!

Being an adult in the modern world is hard, but sometimes you pay a flat price to be let loose in a cellar with full access to over 100 German wines, and things seem OK for a while.
Our wry and hilariously intractable host demonstrated the Good and Proper way to taste wine in impeccably German fashion, then jotted down a few of his favorite wines before setting us free to taste on our own. It was an overwhelming amount of freedom, and my only regret is not coming earlier in the day to allow more time for tasting. We couldn't resist buying a few bottles, and they were all very reasonably priced. This is a fantastic way to give your palate a good starting map of Mosel wine, and I would happily come back for Round 2.

Inside you will find an impressive gemstones collection from the local district and other parts of the world. It is worth to see it! They have also a shop where you can buy some nice staff.

Nice museum with a lot of precious stones, parking nearby , cost 1 euro per hour.
The Felsenkirche, a small church with a rich history, is nestled within the face of a rocky hill. Its exterior stands out amidst the rocks, while the entrance can be found through a cave-like tunnel. The interior of the church is also carved into the rock, creating an awe-inspiring sight. Perched above the city of Idar-Oberstein, this hidden gem boasts a cross made from precious stones, showcasing the town's renowned craftsmanship.
If you like history and ancient buildings this is a great place to go, a church that at the very beginning of the construction it was a castle.
When you are inside you are able to see how some of the walls are just rock of the mountain.
Very interesting place with an amazing story. We had an excellent guide that explained every single corner of the place.
The tour was made in German and one of our friends translated in to English. I didn’t ask if they offer a tour in English but I think it should be possible.
The best way to go inside is to order a tour, is nothing expensive but you need to consider that is at least for 8 people.

Its a stair climb to get here but a really beautiful little Church. Has an interesting history and has a myth about 2 brothers and why it was built. It has a spring in it to. Worth the time to check it out.

Amazing church carved directly into the rock face. A bit of a walk to get to it. A small spring is inside. Interesting story behind this church. Beautiful view from inside and above. Castle ruin nearby. No parking at the church but plenty in the village. Well worth the trip if you are in the area.

Church build inside the rocky hill. The exterior of the church stands out of the rocks, but the entrance is through a cavelike tunnel and also the interior is build into the rocks. Amazing place! Beautiful over the city. As Idar-Oberstein is famous for its precious stones, of course the church has a cross made of these. Seeing how few reviews and pictures this place has, it's a hidden gem.

I was there in 1977 man it has changed before it was just a small room with about 6-8 benches and a small alter. Bare walls just like a cave I love it

Nice place built on a cliff side but mediocre on the inside . . The cool thing is that the entrance is through a tunnel built into the mountain
Motor racing complex with 1930s & Grand Prix circuits, for competition & driving experience program.
The energy here is something else, did a lap in a hired Porsche caymen gt4 and it and the track blew my mind. Did I mention it was my first track day ever, baptism of the green hell indeed. A must do experience.

Plenty to see and do, a museum, shops. Most people will come here for the race track, you can get a race taxi ride or take your own, we went round on motorbikes. Pay your 25 euros for the tourist lap and off you go, thrilling ride round. Keep your eyes on your mirrors stay to the right and you'll be fine, loved it.

The green hell.
Definitely must visit for anyone with a remote interest in cars.
Strongly recommend getting a coach for a lap. It's like a video game cheat code. You'll be much safer, faster, and enjoy yourself more.

One of the greatest race circuits of all time. I can recommend going for a VLN round. The access you can get to the cars / drivers is second to none!

So much fun! If you are doing a ride along be sure to plan to be there a while. The track closes down often because of accidents. Highly recommend going to one of the track viewing areas.

If you got this far then you know what this place is and what goes on here, so skipping that part.
All in all this is a life experience and I do recommend going here. Well do take a taxi maybe if you have never been on a track before...
In general - go on workdays if possible and I would suggest buying tickets online. Make the process a lot smoother.
Otherwise everything goes smooth and is a very pleasant experience.

Especially the tourist drives are super interesting, as you get to see so many cars which you will never see on the road anywhere else!

Insane variety of amazing cars. Can get VERY busy but it's worth it 100%. You won't regret going... just don't stack it 😕😂

Awesome experience driving the ring on “tourist day”. A little scary as high performance cars share the track but everyone was quite tolerant of the amateurs like me. Exhilarating. Thrilling. Read the rules on the website first!!!

I stay there for more than six hours and it wasn’t enough definitely going there another time where they have an official event on the GP highly recommended For old car and bike lovers

What an absolutely amazing experience!! Drove in the track a few times, bought a lot of surveniers, did taxi rides, made life-long friends, watched multiple races including the 24-hr Nürburgring races, attended concerts and sim racing expos, truly a one-of-a-kind experience! Even if I am not in Germany for now, I will definitely come back in the future!

What a fun place!! This is definitely one of the coolest spots to visit in Germany. If you have the chance to go on a tourist drive day and experience the track, it’s amazing. But even if not possible to go on the track, just watching the many different cars is already a great experience or watching a race.

Unbelievable place.
Very dangerous during tourist days. Anyone is aloud in the track with zero safety briefing or knowing the rules
I think they should at least tell everyone the rules before going in.
If you plan on going, I highly recommend renting a car from rsr or similar who will go over this.
THE place to rent your vehicle for the Nurburgring!!! Exceptional customer service, upfront costs, and friendly environment is a forte for this place. We rented their GTR for 4 laps. Jonathan added a goPro for free, appreciated the nice gesture. The GTR was in phenomenal condition just as RSR promised. I was able to finish my laps without any pressure to return the car. Had a blast of ab experience. These guys are worth every penny. Will be back soon to try one of their other cars!!! Thank you, Jonathan, Sergio, and everyone at RSR.

What an amazing experience! Ron and the team were fantastic. From my booking experience with Ron and Serena (doing this remotely from Australia) to Sheila as our guide then Sergio as my instructor, I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
They were flexible with their options too. I did the first timer package and upgraded my car to the Nissan GTR and added two extra laps to my ‘ring drive.
Thanks for the great memories!

First-timer, was fairly nervous. The vibe of RSR put me at ease: super detailed/useful safety briefing, zero upswell pressure, and a common vibe that the people working there love what they do. I purchased the co-pilot package for the Nürburgring and I think it is absolutely essential if you're new to the ring. It gave me the confidence to drive much faster than if I'd had to do it alone, and honestly it was just way more fun to share the drive with an expert. Finally, if you are a newcomer like I was, I think there is much more value in renting a cheaper car and driving more laps. I had the Renault Clio suped-up version and it had greater acceleration and traction than I expected or could fully take advantage of. It is worth every single penny; a completely unforgettable/irreplaceable life experience. Thank you Sergio, Juan-Carlos and everyone at RSRNurburg!!

RSR is the highest quality of track rental company you will find at the Nurburgring. From the most expensive 992 GT3RS to a Ford Fiesta they rent out everything and anything. Their driving instructors are top notch and customer service is brilliant. They charge a bit more than other competitors but there is a reason for that.
Their customer service is incredible. Especially Francesco at the front desk, he was a very helpful and hardworking individual who took care of our problems throughout the weekend. Constantly checking in even though he didn’t need to.
Throughout the three days there I rented the Hyundai i20n, i30n, Golf GTI (2dr), and Bmw m240i.
The i20N was bulletproof, the most enjoyable and the most worth € for value wise. The car was fully stock but it was so good— through the slow speed I kept up with BMW M3s and Caymans.
The i30N was also as good but after 2 fast laps the brakes suffered some cooling issues and became soft for the next 4 laps. The tires were on the end of their life cycle— after a long weekend for this car from the previous clients. We told one of the workers and they dropped the tire pressures from 3 bar to 2.2 bar and it made a massive difference.
The Golf GTI was incredibly easy and safe, perfect for a new driver. Very well balanced and not that fast. You just focus of carrying speed and keeping the momentum up.
The BMW m240i was not the one for me and my mate. It was inherently very soft, from the suspension through the high speed stuff, to soft brakes compared to the hyundais, to the soft tire side wall in the many highspeed demanding corners.
If you are a confident driver with track experience I suggest rent one of their modified cars with KW suspension setup as it’ll make it much more pleasurable.
Overall, I spent way more money than I expected at RSR because it was like a disneyland for adults. I was only supposed to go for a day and I kept going back until the track was closed. Thank you RSR for a great time, the track was unbelievable.

I’m from Florida and this is my first time in Germany and visiting the Nurburgring.
While I love cars, I also love this company. One of the best aspects of the whole NBR experience is the exceptional customer service from RSRNurburg. They are friendly and inviting and make it their priority that you have a great time. I will be back again and have no interest renting from anyone/anywhere else. A+++
End of the day update: Track closure beyond their control. Went the extra mile to take care of me to ensure I return. Companies should learn from them on customer service and brand.

We had a nice experience last Sunday. First time at Nürburgring, rented a Clio with my friend. Awesome little car, maybe except the weird automatic gearbox.
Experience with RSR was very smooth, friendly folks, nice offices, it was good to chill a bit.
Briefing was great, and well received since we were both complete new to this kind of experience. It's a lot of information and easy to get a bit overloaded, I forgot half of the specifics out of the door and maybe 3/4 while driving due to nerves and being task saturated of course.
Terry was our instructor and his calm and professionalism was important for being safe, and avoid being too overwhelmed with the experience. RSR and Terry were an excellent start. I'm afraid I'm planning to go back, hope it'll pass (or I win the lottery so it's not a problem).
Pay attention to the briefing and to the excess you may have to pay a worst case scenario. Hire an instructor, it's worth it.

I was on a trip and called RSR for any last minute availability for some ring time. Serxio looked into any possibilities and options. A day later I was on the schedule for a track day! I rented a Cayman GTS but it ended up raining so I used their Fiesta ST. All of the cars are prepped and in good working order. Turned 15 laps with almost no traffic (1-3 cars). Highly recommend RSR and an instructor for unforgettable experience on the ring.

Exceptional service for those intending to experience the Nurburgring experience. Highly advisable to do the 1 day Starter Package which RSR provides the full day experience with a convoy self-drive, lunch, visit to the Nurburgring Museum and to cap the end of the day with a 'Ring Taxi ride or a self-drive with a car of choice.
Will definitely return for a 2nd experience.
The RSR team is conversant in English, no issues for English speaking customers.

Amazing experience with RSR. Rented a Golf R, with instruction on a private track day event. They did an amazing job communicating with me in the leadup, and when COVID screwed up my original booking they were excellent about crediting my account and rebooking me.

Perfect experience for the Nurburgring! Jonathan, Kostos, and Francisco are true talent and kind people. Everyone there was helpful, knowledgeable, and amazing. The Taxi Lap in the M5CS was perfect for our whole family with a thrilling joyride (video included) The first timer package and tour was also so interesting and you get to see and learn more about the track from all different places. The Golf R and M240 Xdrive were awesome on the Ring and 4 laps was perfect. Kostos is an amazing instructor.
Cochem Castle, also known as Reichsburg Cochem, is a stunning 11th-century hill-top castle offering panoramic views of the town and the Moselle River. Although much of the original structure was destroyed in the 17th century, it was meticulously restored to its former glory in the 19th century. Perched on a vineyard-covered hilltop, this iconic landmark is considered one of Germany's most beautiful castles.
It’s somehow a magical town, full of narrow streets and up the hill this amazing castle.
You can a guided tour, it’s quite quick and the castle inside is not that big but you can notice how passionate the guide is.
The view is amazing form the castle which you can easily reach walking or by car.
I went in winter and need to come back in summer.

Beautiful castle. Once you are on top the scenery is breath-taking. requires a bit of walk to reach it but the climb is not that steep. You can get in with a tour only. The tour was in German but the guide (at least ours did) translated most of the stuff in English, plus she gave us a brochure with room by room description. The guide was great with a sense of humour & told us some anecdotes about the castle.
There castle itself inside is gorgeous, although it is not the original medieval furnishings of course but still interesting. They even give a chocolate coin for kids from an old chest.
You can make pictures inside, although there is really no time for them inside or outside as you have to vacate rooms rather quickly for the next tour.
There is a nice gift shop inside.
Cochem town itself is a jewel. Covered in flowers & many little cute streets. recommend also to take a boat trip.

Great day trip. Perfect to take family and anyone you might have visiting. The castle is a bit of a hike up a fairly steep hill, but the views from the top are worth it. Went in the early spring and I imagine the vineyards on the hill sides look spectacular come midsummer.

Perfectly placed facing the Moselle river, Reichsburg is the most prominent symbol of Cochem. There’s a fantastic old village surrounding the castle, where you take some time for a walk. They have guided visitation until 17:00h; going early is best option enjoy the medieval atmosphere of the place.

The castle is incredibly beautiful as well as the surrounding town. Definitely worth a visit. It's hard to find parking for the holidays. There are a couple of parking lots that are located above the castle, the path from them to the castle itself goes through the forest, it is very steep, keep this in mind. It is not very difficult to go down this path, but it is difficult to climb a steep one without physical preparation.

The best castle we’ve been in Germany, I know there’s more beautiful out there. But this castle is big clean feel like a home when you enter, they only have German tourist guide but they’ll give you a paper with English translation on it.
You can take some videos and pictures inside too, I know some castle are not allowed. Even it was weekend it was not so crowded inside. They have clean bathroom as well, we did walk through the castle and it was worth it because you can see those pretty buildings on town OTW. Historische Senfmühle Dehren GmbH is a must-see attraction in the town, being one of the oldest mustard mills globally and still operational since the 15th century. Visitors can explore the grounds, learn about its history and production process, and even taste various delicious mustard flavors. The mill offers an array of mustards, marmalades, and even mustard schnapps for tasting.
They have a wide variety of mustards and dips to sample and purchase. There are also sausages with your choice of mustard for 2.50€. The tour is once a day at 4pm. The workers are courteous and encourage you to try a wide variety of samples. This place is worth a quick stop for 30 or so minutes. Enjoy!

Let's start out with I had high hopes for this place. It was highly recommended and we drove two hours to visit it. Upon arrival we had roughly 30 minutes to see everything due to them closing and us running into traffi. We were greeted by an individual who didn't even say hello just a what do you want we are closing. We tried to talk a bit regarding the mustard and process and asked if we could try some. After giving a long sigh he allowed us to try some of the flavors before us choosing.
Now for the mustard. The original is my favorite while the other flavors I had were more of a mustard which then they added spices. To me I thought it would have more of a unique taste or something different from just added spice. They do accept card and the mustard is around 7 euro.
Now for the review. This place just from the staff alone. I would have to give it a 2 out of 10 on that 🔥 scale. The location is very beautiful and good walking distance to the downtown area.

Not many words required for this place: Mustards and sausages. Many mustards available in different flavours, home made by the still in use mill. You pay a price for it, around €7,80 for a 250ml jar. Too much in my opinion, but yes, many tourists will buy it anyways. Oh yes, you can do some tasting as well.

Just tried the sausage and a mustard of your choice for 2,50 offer. We really enjoyed it. Of course, some mustard flavors won‘t fit everyones preference. But the sausage was really good. While my favorite was the historic mustard, my +1 preferred the garlic mustard - a bit too intense for me.

Modern thermal spa complex with an outdoor lagoon, saunas & a pool in a palm-lined, glass atrium.
Really enjoyed it here. Pricing is dynamic, so booking early is cheaper.
Large central pool, indoors and outdoors with currents and bubbles. Not that hot, but this way you can stay in the water for longer (water at 33C or 34C is lovely but becomes a health risk after 20 minutes).
Three warm salty hot basins and a steam room. They organize events. Easy parking. Next to a supermarket.
Watch out: kids only allowed on specific days.

Highly recommend to go and experience the peaceful and calm oasis in Euskirchen. I used the main area and the sauna and also enjoyed a 20 min massage.
The sauna space was my favourite as it truly is a place for rest, relax and re-energise. Everything is clean, enough space for everyone and the staff is friendly and approachable.
One star is missing as the food selection is an area for improvement in my opinion - at least in the restaurant in the palm paradise. A couple of Asian dishes or more vegetarian options in general would be great. However, the food tasted good (Flammkuchen and salad).
We definitely visit again!

I’ve been to a few thermal baths around Europe, and this one is definitely one of the best! Not expensive (around €95 for two people for every facility entrance), very clean and has delightful pools and sauna facilities, which are very well decorated, as well. The food is very good and not so expensive, although it would be nice to have an English menu. Overall, had an awesome time and would definitely recommend!

Absolutely beautiful thermal bath, great facilities (many spas) and mostly clean. It's nice they offer salt and sugar scrubs for the saunas. The food in the cafe is awful (for sure the worst salad and pizza I have ever had, in terms of taste and quality of ingredients) but the drinks are good, although not cheap.
The price is high... Both for entrance and food.
As a comparison, there is a spa in Saarbrucken which has much more affordable entrance fees with better quality cafe... although in terms of the fully nude area, this spa is better for sure. The full access area is large and accommodating. There is also a spa in Cologne and it is inferior in terms of amenities and services. Overall this spa is better if not the best in this area.
We visited on a weeknight evening and it was not busy at all in terms of people, although it seemed to be short staffed. We waited 15 minutes to be admitted and then looked for another 30 minutes once inside to get a towel/robe. When we did find an employee to help us (towels, etc.) they were exceptionally delightful which was nice and totally made up for the inconvenience of waiting for services.

Overall a nice place, and would visit again.

Great place to visit. Looks like tropics inside, with palms , sunbeds and UV lamps. There's a pool indoors and outdoors and 3 therapeutic pools with Calcium , Selen and Dead sea Salt when you relax for 15 min. There's a bar as well inside the pool so you can enjoy your drink just there.
The best thing I liked is the time without my phone as no signal there😁

You have the option to use the swimming pool area, the sauna area (with several dry sauna options - from 60° to 90° C - and one steaming sauna 60°C), or both. Nice staff, reasonable restaurant (sauna area), numerous chairs for laying down and relax. We recommend you both your visit via website and choose amongst the numerous options the place offers. Free parking at the facilities.

Absolutely zero complaints, I’ve been here SEVERAL times (min. 10) and every time I go I have a very pleasant experience. There are plenty of changing cubicles, more than enough. The toilets are very clean and tidy. The entire building smells like a luxurious spa. The massage therapists are friendly. The restaurants food is great. I highly enjoy having a drink in the bar within the swimming pool. The list of great things are never ending. Perfect amount of parking.

First timer review: (having experience from mainly belgiaN thermals , aachen and thermen erding)
Went on Easter Sunday, arived at 8.55am after a breakfast at a nearby McDonald's. Happy to say that the line was really short but did start forming fast at the entrance. Entered as a couple for the naked part.
Pros:
+++A drink fountain, a Big plus for doing so many saunas , and you can refill your bottle to stay dehydrated.. a taboo in many other thermals for not spending money on their drinks...
+++Friendly staff inside .
Lightnig storm hit us around 5pm so they closed the pool for safety, actually this earns a +++ in my opinion the staff concerns our safety while some weird guests were furious.
+++The pool , water is fantastic! Very soft. Welcoming temperature. Perfect.
+++ Although it's one restaurant combining all sorts, italian , burgers asia... Food choice is okay and the pizza was great. The prices are very doable.
+++ Saunas are huge ! And beautifully decorated/ themed. Though the kino, cinema sauna could use an update , the projector is old and barely visible . Lots of shows going on the same time , never felt I couldn't join due to overcrowding. Although I can imagine that overcrowding generally could happen on busier days like a Saturday.
Cons:
---no sleeping room / relaxing dedicated area which Erding and other thermals do have , for free.. and that's the name of the game here at euskirchen, to book a chair.. okay they're just 5euro.. which I regretfully passed on, but I had no idea there's no alternative at all! It's still disappointing to not have an isolated sleeping area. Loud and crowded anyway.
--steam sauna... Very small and just one.. compared to all the other immensely huge saunas . What's the thinking there ..
-indoor temperature very high. Hard to cool off unless you went outside, in a thunderstorm. Seriously, it was 40 degrees. Occasionally they opened the domes.. but in the evening, during dinner I kept complaining and we were both sweating throughout dinner inside . Hard to imagine what summer will be there like in that greenhouse.
- while there are many big saunas , they are all more or less the same in terms of temperature/ humidity. The shows lack quality and favour quantity, feel more just about creating intense humidity.
- pool bar drinks.. had a Pina colada and a iced coffee latte. Both substandard quality so left the half full at the bar .
- the non naked zone, did a quick passerby, seems sad. Way too overcrowded. It's a kids playground, very noisy, definitely not adult friendly coming from the other zone. How can one justify the near the same price of the naked zone..just go to a waterpark.and it's more fun at least. Erding had that in between zone, for those that prefer non naked, And still looked adult friendly.
Overall give it an 8/10. Will go again, not in the weekend , but middle of the week , book a chair, in a less crowded area..
Its a good mix between an Erding and a Belgian thermal. Just under a 2hr drive for us. So doable.

We had an impressive stay! I really liked that we were allowed to take pictures with our mobilephones to catch some beautiful memories. The food was delicious but the Currywurst was cold. We particularly liked the infrared lounger and the outdoor pool, which was warm even on a spring evening. The many exotic plants and the large loungers invite you to relax. We enjoyed our cocktails in the pool area. It was amazing! We definitely recommend the thermal baths...

One of my favourite places in Germany, if you are near this Spa, Sauna, relax place... Spend some hours and give you a prize yourself to relax your body and spend some special day there .
Sauna area was amazing, different temperatures on different beautiful saunas and also good pool with a bar.
Palm area and swimming pool is incredibly beautiful!
Dramatic 360m-long rope bridge for bicyclists & pedestrians suspended 100m above a valley.
Very nice spot for an adventure hike. The suspension bridge itself is stunning. The feeling you get on it is just great. It's a fantastic view from up there too. We did 5.8km from the parking lot to the bridge, over the bridge, back through the woods. Really a good hike even with kids. Take yourself something to drink and maybe a little snack in case you are not used to hike.

I wanted to visit this place for several years already. It was worth the trip! Very peaceful. Not to many people around. Clean. Plenty of parking spaces in the little town at 2km from the bridge. (About 10 Euro for 4 hours of parking) The bridge itself... Just beautiful! Nice walking trail around. About 6,4km, it'll take you about 2,5H. Make sure you have descent shoes 🙂

Distance: Approx. 3.2 Kilometer of walking from car parking area.
Parking charges : 6€ for 4 hrs. The machine also takes Giro card and 1€ coins.
Fee for bridge: Free
Take some food, water along the trip. There are ice-cream shops on the way in summer.

Not for the faint hearted but a fabulous experience to walk across this suspension bridge crossing a gorge.
It's a decent walk around farmers fields with some information boards and fun things to do with the kids as you walk there.
We did it on a particularly hot day and there is minimum shade so hats and plenty of water are a must.
There is a person selling ice cream and a beer garden partway through the walk for those in need of refreshments. In the village there are places to get refreshments and a small information centre.
Worth noting that the car parks only take cash.

I did a 7 mile hike starting in the Mölsdorf, that goes through the Geierlay Suspension Bridge. If you have the time, there are several hiking trails that take you to the bridge through different hiking loops. If you want to try them out, download and browse through the "All Trails" app. The entire area was clean, beautiful and just peaceful! The bridge was very impressive and fun to walk on. It does start to sway side to side, if it's windy or if there are a lot of people walking on it. The views from the bridge are very nice too!

A nice place for a short trip with the family. The bridge shakes sometimes and if you are not very like height, I don't recommend it.There we found a car with ice cream, coffee, beer and snacks .

You park in the town (bring €), walk 1.8km or 1.1mi to the bridge. It costs 5€ to cross the bridge. And then you can typically hike after crossing it or walk back across it. It’s a fun experience, and great to help break your fear of heights. Beautiful views. There’s a little creek that runs below it. And it’s pretty stable as well. I went on a VERY windy day. And even then the bridge was only swaying slightly in the center.

Awesome experience to walk the formerly longest (now second) but nicest suspension bridge of Germany. There are a couple of parking lots nearby and then you walk 1,8-2km to the bridge. Parking costs 6€-€10 according to how close it is to the bridge. But the bridge itself is free you can walk over it as many times as you like. There are also walking tours which take you to the valley below the bridge. Definitely recommend a visit if you're in the neighbourhood (but not if you're afraid of heights the bridge is stable but you do feel movements and you can look all the way down). We went in November on a Saturday there were other people there but it was not too crowded. Very nice experience.
Lore Clauw — Google review
We decided to stop here just because it was on the way to another site we were going to and I was happy we did. From parking in town, it was about a kilometer and a half walk to the bridge. We went early, so there were only a couple people around...as we were walking back to the car, it was starting to get a lot more active. Good views, nice hike and definitely a good experience.
Brian Morton — Google review
A nice bridge to walk over, however it is definitely a tourist attractions, so it can be very busy and you're almost always walking behind, or in front of other people. The rest of the walk is a lot less busy, and is a nice walk (sometimes quite difficult) through the forrest.

Visited the Geierlay Suspension Bridge recently and it was an incredible experience! The views from the bridge are absolutely stunning, offering a unique perspective of the surrounding natural beauty. The bridge itself feels secure and well-maintained, making the walk across enjoyable even for those who might be a bit nervous about heights. It's definitely a must-visit for anyone who loves adventure and wants to immerse themselves in the gorgeous landscape. Make sure to bring your camera - the photos you'll capture here are simply breathtaking! Highly recommended.

The walk to the bridge and on the bridge is very fascinating.
Must visit this place.
It is free of cost.
You can also fly drone here.
The bridge is around 1.8kms from the parking place.

The bridge is the attraction for people without a fear of heights and adventurers. Modeled after Nepalese suspension bridges, the “Geierlay Suspension Bridge” spans from one bridgehead to the other. The name was chosen in a competition and refers to the area of the land registry the bridge is located in.
Initial contact point is the visitor center in Mörsdorf, which is equipped with an information terminal, a restaurant and public facilities.

It was an amazing experience, unique in it's way. The bridge looks very elegant and spectacular in the same time. The view is also superb. 🌄😲🌲
Unfortunately i had no chance to go on the hiking trails because we were in a bigger group, but I loved the entire experience.
We came from Morsdorf 🏘, so we just had to walk maximum 2 km to get to the bridge. It is easily accessible from this direction through a flat pietonal pathway.
The perfect set up for a weingut (winery)... scenic surroundings, service at the counter w' outdoor seating (no need to suffer disinterested service), great range of wines (what ever your preference) drink in or to take away.....plus simple munch to help you to try more wine....perfect 😃

We had a nice visit of the cellar. After that we enjoyed tasting few wines and bought more than dozen bottles of riesling and pinot noir. Arrived at home, we opened two of the six riesling "S" we got. Both of them presented a sour sparkling presence (it should be a still wine!!!) which was not present in the wine we tasted at the winery, which was totally smooth and nicely mineral. Most likely the wine they sold us had an unintended fermentation in the bottles resulting in CO2 generation. After calling the winery to complain, they refused to refund for the faulty bottles.

It's an old, nice winery, good for keeping wine and for buying, but not for staying(imagine how is the host stays there for the whole day, it's so cold). The level of flooded water can be seen on the wall even after the year passed. But they didn't stop and continue produce nice wine for us.

Every time, whether you drink wine on site, get advice or take wine with you, all the employees here are always in a good mood, friendly and you get very good advice. If you are unsure about a wine, you can also taste it on site. Everything is very informal and I am always impressed by the sales area, you can see the rock in the background.
The wines taste very good and are not expensive...many under €10.
There is seating at ground level or you can go upstairs to the terrace, where the toilets are also located.
Come here and enjoy.
You can also buy small things to go with the wine (chips, tarte flambée, Mettenden or Pfefferbeißer). There is a stand next door that serves fries and currywurst, and I can recommend the Chinese pan.
Parking spaces across the street. There is a parking area at the entrance only for those who pick up wine.

Landhaus vor Burg Eltz is a charming countryside hotel with horse stables, a terrace, and a garden. The traditional restaurant offers excellent food and the rooms are tidy and comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making it a great choice for families with babies. Its proximity to Eltz castle makes it convenient for visitors who want to explore the area on foot. The cozy atmosphere and welcoming host add to the overall appeal of this bed & breakfast.
Perfect location if you’re around for a hike or visiting the Castle Eltz. We came here feeling hungry and very thirsty for a pint of weissbier, and this place did not disappoint.
The food is AMAZING and plentiful which was great after doing a hike. Susan was very kind to us, not only explained, but also have us a menu in English. She also taught us about the liquor of the region (Moselfeuer = Mosel Fire in English).
The terrace was super cozy and it has enough parasols if it’s too sunny, and blankets in case it gets chilly. If I lived here, I would definitely be a frequent customer.
I would definitely recommend this place!! ♥️

Terrific little bed & breakfast. It’s very tidy and clean and the beds are comfortable. The baby bed was also well prepared, though they do charge 10€ for the extra bedding. The bathroom is very small. The staff is super friendly, though I’m not 100% sure how good their English is as we communicated in German. They prepared unseasoned food specifically for the baby and brought out plastic utensils. This was a plus for us. The breakfast overall is well done. From this Landhaus, it’s just a short drive up to the parking lot of Burg Eltz.

Beautiful abbey, with free entrance. You can’t take pictures inside. The surroundings are gorgeous and so peaceful!… You can visit the greenhouse and also buy some local products, which look great. The parking nearby, by the lake, is also easy to find with Google Maps and it’s very cheap (1 euro and we stayed there for 1-1h30?).
You can also take a hike around the lake, but at this time of the year (March) it is still very muddy and quiet. Apparently you can rent boats and do other activities during summer time.

The Museum of the History of the Federal Republic is a modern chronically of post second war Germany. It is a very fascinating place to visit but half way round I felt overloaded with information. It is perhaps better to take a coffee or tea break before you become saturated with information overload.
I would recommend this museum it is very well laid out and extremely simulating. But remember to take a break. You can download a free audio guide to your mobile phone.
The Museum is free to enter. The cloakroom is free to use. It had a handy cafe with waiter service.

I loved the place in general. I love German history
Many original pieces and many replicas
The museum has history about war, machines, politics, astro, life, people, ..
I liked how the theme was affected by the timeline (united > east+west germany> united germany)

Truly a must see for every German citizen and everyone who is interested in German and recent European history.
What is especially captivating is the fact that each part of the exhibition is visually and physically enhanced by original objects and artifacts which are telling a story about their past much better than a simple picture or text.
While you can easily spend an entire day here without having seen everything, I’d recommend to split the entire exhibition in at least two visits to better process the vast amounts of information and pictures.

The park is also home to an excellent Flohmarktes where you can find various items and delicacies.
One of the nicest parks. Huge places, roads for everyone, runners, bike, kids, older people. Lakes, trees, river sides.. You must visit and walk there.. Take thousands of photos.. Enjoy nature and oxygen

Great park close to the center of Bonn.
Perfect spot for walking, jogging, cycling, wildlife photography or just relax and enjoy the japanese gardens!
The park itself is quite large and has multiple multiple interesting spots (ponds, beautiful japanese garden, deer enclosure, monuments,...)
Overall a fun place to wind down when you are in the neighbourhood.

Rheinaue is one of the most beautiful spots in and around Bonn. It not only has its own lagoons, but it is beautifully highlighted by the accent of the river Rhine. Rheinaue is one of the best spots to meditate and carry your outdoor activities.
The park is rich with well maintained greenery which provides an ambiance that is suitable for everything, be it a romantic walk, a yoga session, a sprint or even the chill pill of playing beer pong !
Furthermore, Rheinaue is known for various sports and interests such as canoeing, and The 5km run association is called the park-run.
The spot is highly recommended.

Very nice park for various recreational activities. The park is very big and full of beautiful animals that live there and it adds an excellent atmosphere to the park. I would definitely recommend to rent a pedal boat or check out the deer enclosure. Or if you like, watch a Bonn Capitals baseball game.

Lovely and calming place , especially on a sunny day . Great for a long relaxing walk.
The imposing Schloss Drachenburg is a beautiful 19th century castle located in the Siebengebirge park. The architecture and design of this majestic structure is something that will leave your heart racing. The structure is grand and huge, with small details carefully considered while designing it.
I'd wanted to visit this particular "castle" for years. It's not really a castle but more of a mansion stylized in a way to look like a castle, but I tink those are actually the types of castles I prefer. This is probably, in my opinion, the most interesting attraction in or around Bonn. Definitely worth the trip but I also recommend going a bit further up the hill to the peak to enjoy the view.

We had a great visit, wanted to provide some additional information that others might benefit from. We walked from the train station, following a route from Google maps. It took us on a nice wooded trail up to the castle. On the way down we walked on the road and I’m very grateful that we did not take the road on the way up as it was MUCH more steep than the path. The road goes past the tram station which for a fee you can take to the top but the path was great for us. Also, when you look online it says that tickets are cash payment, but we had absolutely no problem using credit card. We walked through and around the castle, everything was very nice. We did go up the tower and it was a super easy walk up a circular stairway. Beautiful views from the top that should not be missed! We got a couple of drinks from the café at the castle, prices were reasonable-We sat on the patio with gorgeous views. They had a pretty big bee problem on the patio, more than I had seen on the rest of my trip. I also saw a lot of bees flying in under one of their eaves, so there must be a nest there.

Nice place to visit in summer.
Even better if anyone likes to hike and visit.
The design and architecture have been kept well to quite a great extent and the garden around the castle is also well maintained.
One can travel till here by the mini train also if a hike is not a preference.

There is also a course that goes up a mountain path. It's a bit of a walk, but it's not steep, and it takes about 30 minutes to reach the castle. I'm happy when I see the castle. Purchase a souvenir ticket indoors and enter the castle.

Beautiful place with spectacular views. You can see the castle inside, climb to the observation deck and take a walk around. We climbed on the funicular to the observation deck, which is located above the castle. Then we went down and enjoyed the beautiful views. The climb is very steep, so I recommend going up the funicular.

Definitely worth a visit! Lots of parking spaces (and it’s cheap, we payed 3 euros so that we had enough time to have lunch, go to the castle and come back, peacefully). The walk to the castle is not very strenuous, but it’s a climb (10-15 minutes).
The ticket entrance is also affordable at 8 euros per person. The castle is very well kept and the gardens are indeed beautiful. And it smells like grass and nature, it’s very soothing.
You can take pictures inside (without flash), and you should because everything is so beautiful. And the vistas from the terrace are breathtaking!
The toilets and free and clean.
There’s a restaurant up there, but we ate elsewhere on our way to the castle.
And the Easter eggs and Easter bunny were so cute! What a nice touch.
Lovely! 🥰🥰🥰

Probably my favorite castle in Germany. It really looks like it’s from a fairytale. The castle is so beautiful inside and out. Also the garden is absolutely amazing with a nice view. I recommend you to take the outside tower that will lead you to the top of the castle. There you will have a beautiful view.

Overall it is a very nice castle to visit if you are around Cologne. You can take the train and then you can either hike up to the castle or take a special train that takes you up to the castle and at the top of the mountain. The castle itself is not enormous, you can visit in maybe 2 or 3 hours, but the inside is beautiful. There are toilet facilities and a restaurant serving nice food and beverages. The views from the top of the castle are pretty cool and to be honest the architecture was impressive. Would recommend the experience

A beautiful Fairytale castle near Bonn. You can get a Cogwheel train from Königswinter to the castle and the fort above it. It's better to buy tickets for the castle and the Cogwheel train ride together from the station itself since it's around 4 euros cheaper than buying separately. The castle is marvellous both outside and inside. The views from the top tower are magnificent. You can also Trek the whole distance to the top of the castle too. Overall a great experience.

Very beautiful castle. Well maintained and lots of fun to visit. You can't drive up right to the castle though . You have to park in the parking lot by the rail train. Then you have an opinion of either walking up a very steep hill for about 30 minutes or paying 12 euros a person for a train. We got a combo ticket (train and castle entrance) for 17 euros each.

Very cool castle to visit. Friendly staff. Well worth the cost of 8 euro for adult or 18 euro for family. It was a bit of a walk from parking to the castle and mostly uphill but very doable. From parking lot to castle, walking around the castle, then return to parking I put on 1.7 miles.

Beautiful castle! Though it looks older than it really is, this castle dates back from 1882. It has a nice audio tour to tell the story of the property. Nice gardens, and the nicest part, it’s not empty inside, this is really good. Worth the visit! But bear in mind that sometimes the tram is not working so you’ll have to climb up there for 18 minutes (and it can be really exhausting)

Great place to visit. It is at a height so keep in mind a medium level difficult hike awaits you. But it is worth it. It also has a tram service which takes you up and back down and it costs around 12€. It is really very beautiful and the ticket for castle can be bought directly at counter with a great gift shop as well (very reasonable prices). The ticket for castle costs 7€. I recommend to go its worth every penny.

We will definitely come back and do the castle tour.

Beautiful castle close to Köln, it's not an old castle (late 1800) and the decorations from the middle 1900s, very beautiful. The accessibility is good and the garden is pet friendly. A fantastic day out with fabulous views of the Rhine. The castle itself is gorgeous, as is the walk to get here. We visited on Dec 26, and the Christmas decorations were spectacular with some lovely touches for younger visitors. The stained glass windows were outstanding. Spotless restrooms and a lovely restaurant with wonderful waffles. The grounds are beautiful and beautifully maintained. The highlight for me was enjoying a festive gluhwein in the gardens!

Beautiful and interesting castle. Easy train ride from Cologne. If you get a day pass in Cologne this train ride also included.
There is a climb to the castle. You could also take the cog rail train to the top for which you have to pay. Person at the reception mentioned that there is no one way ticket for the cog railway train. Walking took us about 20mins.
There is a restaurant at the castle. Also there is a small cafe on the walking route.
Mountain peak Drachenfels is a well-known hill in the area. With vineyards, a historical cog railway, and the remains of a medieval castle, it's an excellent place to spend some time. Be prepared for some rain or bad weather, as well as fatigue or low blood sugar. Go early and enjoy the view from the top!
Drachenfels is a nice castle but the key is its location with gorgeous panoramic views of sprawling mountains. You will find peace here despite this large building. We visited in mid September and fall colors were already there.

It‘s definitely worth a visit, the place is nice and spacious. We chose to go up with the tram mainly because of the children but i would recommend to take the trail hiking up instead. Went there for a hike. One can also take a train to the Drachenfels. The place is lovely and the view from here is amazing! The hike from Drachenfelstrasse usually takes about 40-45 minutes (one way) and is beginner friendly. The route we took is as follows: Bonn hbf --> Konigswinter fahre --> Walk for about 5-10 minutes --> Drachenfelsstrasse --> Hike towards the top. Public washrooms are available near the Drachenfelsstrasse. The Drachenfels schloss is now only open on weekends so plan accordingly. From April'2023 the schloss will be open on weekdays too (Check the official site before planning).
Other routes are also available for hiking, if interested one can check hiking related websites for this information.

(Translated by Google) Discovered while hiking the tower, there was a sign outside that said tours were not possible. We cheekily looked in and were greeted so friendly by an older lady.
We were allowed to enter and it is a really beautiful chapel.
Since the lady was too small and didn't want to climb a ladder, she asked me to light the Easter candle. I'm not a deep believer now, but that was a very special moment for me. I don't think the lady knows that this was one of the highlights of our vacation for me.
We then had a really nice chat and discovered that we were both one-eyed, what a coincidence.
When the first seniors came for the service, we said goodbye.
Thank you for this experience of being able to light the Easter candle, it may sound cheesy but for me it was special.

Marksburg Castle, a renowned medieval fortress in Germany, has evolved over seven centuries from its humble origins as a twelfth-century keep. Situated on the east bank of the Rhine River, this castle is accessible only by boat due to the absence of bridges. Positioned atop a hillside above the Palace built in 1568 for a landgrave seeking respite from the discomforts of Marksburg Castle, it currently serves as an archive and features a delightful courtyard restaurant.
One of the best castle tours I have ever experienced. Even though the tour was spoken in German, the tour guide provided commentary in English for the U.S. tourists. I was grateful and it made the experience fantastic. Not to mention Marksburg is the only castle on the middle Rhine that has not been re-built. Hard to imagine such an old building has stood for over 800 years! Also, the room with armor from multiple centuries was the most diverse I have seen. Excellent all around.

We walked from the railway station up to the castle near 20 minutes. If you go by a car, the parking is not far from the castle. But nevertheless you must have sports shoes to walk inside, because of the rocky roads. The entrance fee for adults is 11 euro. At 13.00 is the gide tour in English. There is also a cafe where you can wait for the tour starting. The castle is open every day (at least at the summertime).

Beautifully maintained medieval castle. We came with a Viking cruise tour group and I'm so glad we did this excursion. It was really fun to drive through the little town then visit the castle. The tour guide was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable. The tour takes you around the wall, into the wine cellar, kitchens, stable, lord's room, and knights room. Seeing the toilet was very interesting! Lots of history here, the buildings are authentic and well maintained. The weapons and armor display was very interesting and great to see. There are several stairs here and some walkways are narrow and steep. If it's a damp day chances are the stones will be slippery. There is a very nice gift shop and restaurant with refreshments at the end. Try the mulled red or white wine, totally delicious. They even have something for kids to try. The schnapps made a nice souvenir to take home and share with friends.

There is a quite nice souvenir store and a terrace where you can have a drink and a snack (even a whole meal if go around midday) while you enjoy the sun and the view of the Rhein.
The 37 meter high equestrian monument marks the spot where two rivers meet and is home to the impressive Monument to Emperor Wilhelm. The statue was erected in 1897 and has been damaged during WWII, but has since been restored.
This is a must visit spot if you are visiting Koblenz. You will be able to see two rivers merging here at the spot. The view to the other sides of the river is amazing. You can also take seilbahn(cable car) from here to go to the top of a fortress

The city's rich history and charming architecture create a unique atmosphere. It's a place where culture, history, and natural beauty converge, making it a must-visit destination.

I came from Bonn because it was close and it worth it. This place was really beautiful and important there is where rhein and moselle river meet. there was a beer festival next to it, it was amazing and so fun this place is must-to-visit. Koblenz is Perfect

The history of this location is interesting and at the same time sad that the original was destroyed in 1945. The 1993 replica seems just as awe inspiring and fantastically weathered.

The junction of the MoSel and Rhine rivers, the location is perfect, a wonderful statue awaits you, there is a big castle opposite, you can easily reach there thanks to the cable car, there are cafes and restaurants 5 minutes away, Koblenz is a perfect and ideal city. Don't leave without stopping by

This is a unique place to "immerse" in the confluence of the Mosel River and the Rhine. In addition, there is a memorial to the Berlin Wall nearby and a Cross of the German Order on the wall of a corner tower. History buffs will love it...

Beautiful place to visit. Usually crowded. There are many food/drinks places nearby. Also a garden to sit and relax. We can see amazing view of this place from the castle that is next to it. One can clearly see 2 rivers coming together at the corner. Must visit place.

Deutsches Eck offers a picturesque view where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. The iconic equestrian statue and nearby cafes enhance the experience. Perfect spot to soak in history and enjoy the scenic beauty. Do take a cable car ride to the Ehrenbreitstein fortress to enjoy the majestic view from top. Tickets cost 15€ for both sides.
The substantial stronghold housing the state museum of ancient artifacts, along with special exhibitions and war memorials, is known as the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Positioned on a mountain bearing the same name, this fortress was constructed by Prussian forces between 1817 and 1828. However, there had been a previous fortress on this site until it was demolished by the French in 1801.
Very neat fortress they have Rotating art galleries and make great use of the space with concerts in the summer and fall. Lots of historic things to see and great views there is also a restaurant and Cafe.
Plus there is a play ground on the grounds near by aswell as an observation deck to enjoy the breath taking views.

Very rich history. A massive structure. Magnificent overlook of the confluence of the Moselle and the Rhine. A shirt but fun funicular crosses the river. The building themselves are not elaborate or detailed like some cathedrals etc..

Very cool to see the advanced tactics and fortification built to be impenetrable for the time. Had a great guide to show us through. The Vista at the top of the fortress was amazing. You could see for miles.

You could spend EASILY 3-4 hours here and feel like you haven't seen everything or taken in the views. This place is HUGE.
Go down every tunnel or stairs you find that is not closed off and you will discover something totally new. Take a map or keep track of where you have been on Google.
Bathrooms in the middle were clean and stocked. No food was there in Feb. Gift shop was cute and the lady working the counter was VERY kind to us. Spoke English well.

I had an amazing visit to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress recently! This historical gem offers a perfect blend of rich history and stunning views. Exploring the well-preserved fortress was like stepping back in time, and the informative displays added depth to the experience. The panoramic views of the Rhine River and Koblenz are absolutely breathtaking from the top. The well-maintained pathways and knowledgeable staff made the visit enjoyable and educational. Whether you're a history buff or simply seeking panoramic beauty, Ehrenbreitstein Fortress is a must-visit destination. Don't miss it!

Ehrenbreitstein Fortress offers an unparalleled experience for history enthusiasts and sightseers alike. Situated majestically overlooking the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers, the fortress provides a breathtaking panorama that alone justifies a visit. What truly sets this fortress apart, however, are its numerous exhibits housed within its galleries. These exhibits not only delve into the rich history of the castle itself but also illuminate the fascinating stories of the surrounding area. From ancient tales to modern developments, visitors are treated to a comprehensive journey through time. The journey to the fortress is an adventure in itself, thanks to the exhilarating cable car ride over the Rhine. As you ascend, the view becomes increasingly mesmerizing, offering a unique perspective of the river and its surroundings. The €19 combined price for the cable car and entry is a steal considering the unparalleled experience it offers. For those planning a visit, I highly recommend purchasing tickets online to bypass any queues at the box office. This ensures a hassle-free experience, allowing more time to immerse oneself in the fortress's wonders. Overall, Ehrenbreitstein Fortress is a must-visit destination that seamlessly blends history, adventure, and breathtaking views into an unforgettable experience.

This is a must visit place in Koblenz. There are many ways to get here. The easiest way is to take a cable car from Deutsches eck. The cable car and fortress ticket cost around eur 17 altogether. You can also go there by car. There are hiking paths as well if you like to explore by walk. The view from top is breathtaking. You can see the two rivers merging and also the full bird view of Koblenz city. The fortress is very big from inside and lots of places to explore. Audio guides are available to learn about the history of the fortress.

Castle/Fortress is impressed 👏🏻 It was pretty nice and giving ideas abiymut how the fortress was in that century and how law enforcement staff was working and which conditions were waiting for outlaws. Pop-up info rooms, copy atmosphere, local bands Bazaar, lunch/drinking areas(as a Cafe under tent)

Quite big fortress with lots to explore. They have several pieces of the fortress' history on display and some rooms equipped with furniture showing how they used to live there.
You can easily spend a few hours here just walking around and exploring all the big and small paths around and through the fortress.
There's also a cafe at the top with the best view looking over Koblenz and moderate prices.
The fortress is accessible by foot but you'll have to bring some time. The easiest way is to use the cable car while also enjoying the view across the river(s).

We went there on a public holiday using the Seilbahn. The view was awesome from the sky. So I totally recommend taking the Seilbahn, especially since it’s relatively fast. The fortress has so much charm but it’s huge. Thus, some nice walking shoes would be suitable. If it rains, buy a rain cover at the ticket shop. Make sure to visit wine tasting area. They have a good variety. Also, don’t miss a chance to try on the ancient Roman costumes and jewellery. Finally, spend some time at the Gesten expo. You will enjoy the interaction with the selected games and technology.
It was a great experience.

The castle is a fantastic experience in itself, taking us back to the old Prussian times. There are sound effects from that time at numerous places along the walkway. I reached the fortress via the cable car, which, though was a good experience appeared a bit costly. Some of the rooms inside the castle contains info from the old times and overall it is a great way to spend about an hour. Most people however were focussed on the view point from where you can see the Mosel river flowing in to the Rhine.

Very interesting and nice. Prepare for a comfy shoes , umbrella for the sun and bug bottle of water and with no hurry as there are many things to see. Don't forget your camera for nice memories and nice views
The cable car station, Seilbahn Koblenz, is located on the hillside overlooking the fortress Ehrenbreitstein. The ride to the top is a leisurely 890 meter journey that affords great views of the river below and of landmarks such as "German Corner.
Amazing experience! It is a very modern seilbahn and of course it costs more than the regular seilbahn but the view compensates all. I suggest to park the car on the mountain first (there is a big parking lot next to the fort) and go down with the seilbahn to enjoy the city center without any stress about your car. Wagon 16 has a glass window in its floor so the experience gets even better.

Most interesting thing to do during your visit to Koblenz.
Cable car connecting the city side next to Deutsche Eck to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The ride is worth it for the spectacular panoramic view of the of the city down as well as that of the mighty Rhien in both the directions which is always busy with the boats and ferries running up and down. It is recommended to have the combined ticket with Ehrenbreitstein Fortress entrance.

Everyone should try this Cable Car if you visit Koblenz - Germany. You can see such a beautiful views and it’s wonderful. This Cable Car is safety and the price is worth it. When you already in the hill, you can enjoy first the place above or walk around for couple of minutes/ hours before you going back down.

Runs at weekends during off peak times, which are October to early April. We paid EUR31 for a family ticket which is up to 2 adults and 4 children. This included admission to the fortress at the top.
Be warned that there's lots of walking if you want to see everything and maybe not so great for under 5s. The playground at the top worked well for us.

Definitely worth the full price when visiting Koblenz. I’m not sure why some of the reviews complain about the high prices when it’s about the cost of a movie and you can literally spend all day at the fortress.

Great view and lovely ride, I can recommend to everyone. We have been to Koblenz several times already and usually we would park the car somewhere near the Rhine Viewing Platform and head down to the city with the cable car :)
The Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg is a luxurious hotel set in an 18th-century hunting lodge. It features fine dining and a spa, and provides recreational opportunities such as a health club, an indoor pool, and a spa tub. Additional amenities at the hotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services, and babysitting (surcharge).
We absolutely loved this hotel and will be back for another visit soon! The rooms were spacious and very clean. We stayed there with our 5 year old and 10 month old. When the hotel found out that the baby was with us, they left all kinds of goodies for the baby in our room...a pack n play, a diaper pail, baby toiletries, a baby spa robe and even baby slippers! So thoughtful! The bathroom was a spa unto itself; I could've locked myself in the bathroom and been perfectly happy! :) The pool is open for children from 2-4 daily so it limits kiddo swim time but it worked out. There is plenty to do within walking distance of the hotel and there is even a playground on the grounds as well. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. As a side note: this is an old world castle. With that being said, the roads are not paved (in the American sense) and the layout in the hotel is a little wonky (stairs that don't connect and elevators that only go to certain floors), so if you are travelling with a stroller, keep that in mind. It definitely would not keep me from visiting and is manageable, but had I known in advance, I would've packed lighter. :) Stay here...you won't regret it!

Excellent building and interior. Very comfortable rooms. Not 5 stars because the hotel presents itself as excellent so I rate them on my experience of excellence. Service was a bit messy. For example: Tried to call concierge or restaurant and nobody picks up. Called operator to make reservation in the hotel restaurant but reservation was lost. Asked for sightseeing in the area and someone else was called to the reception to tell me locally there is nothing much. And I should go to cologne (not asking me what I am interested in to see)

We took a break for a few days and have to say that Schloss Bensberg was the ideal place to relax.
Friendly and helpful people everywhere, very tasty food and despite the fact that we experienced a downside on the last evening we were there (due to a shortage of staff, it turned out that not a single bar was open in the hotel in the evening). However, this was conveniently resolved by the people at the reception (Sophie Gebels and Lennard Amerling - who, by the way, made his first martini espresso for me and it was perfect) by providing drinks to the people at the reception bar themselves. This meant that this problem was quickly forgotten. We will definitely come back here!

We had a very good stay. Our hotel room was very nice and spacious. The bathroom is all marble and has a double sink. Gorgeous!
The swimming pool is definitely a plus. It is covered so you can enjoy it all year round.
The breakfast surprised me the most: an immense selection of everything (bread, meat, vegetables, eggs, fruit,...). Everything you could possibly want. This was really one of the better and by far the most extensive breakfast buffet I have ever had.

Wonderful SPA getaway. From start to finish everything was superb. The spa is lovely, food is excellent (skip the late night menu, it’s not so good) the staff go above and beyond. The suites are large, spacious & classically beautiful. Top service all the way around. will definitely return.

Super well maintained castle and hotel. The place is a part of the 100 best hotel in Germany 2022/2023. Super easy to reach. Clear and fresh. Rooms are lovely. All details are under the control. Lovely spa area. Stuff at reception and in cleaning service is outstanding, stuff and terrace and breakfast at weekend was super disappointing and they were concentrated on themselves + technically they did not manage to keep standards during weekend on breakfast: different colors of plates, different shapes of teapots, dirty teacups, lack of teacups (even it is provided by tea producer for free), on Monday all was much better: from service till equipment. In general we are satisfied with staying and do realise there is a huge problem with service people in Germany now.

Beautiful hotel and amenities. Have visited Schloss Bensberg on several occasions for business and I was always impressed by the beautiful amenities and location of the hotel.
Because I was there on business, I didn’t really care or pay attention to their customer service very much. I was focused on getting my job done and not on the beautiful surroundings and all the things you would care about as a personal traveler.
For my wife’s birthday on February first, I decided to take her on a spa retreat at Schloss Bensberg, so she could relax and enjoy the beauty of the castle. Weeks in advance I organized Spa treatments and explained my plans for my wife’s birthday to the staff, who during the process was very friendly and helpful to me. They made suggestions and helped me create a plan for 3 days and 2 nights at the hotel.
Unfortunately, my experiences at the hotel were everything but good. Customer service was horrific. At the restaurants we felt largely ignored by the staff and pretty much every visit was characterized by long waits to receive the staffs attention and care.
For my wife’s birthday on February 1st, I had organized a dinner at one of their restaurants. I repeatedly reminded everyone that it was my wife’s birthday. I believed the least the staff at the hotel could and would do was to acknowledge it was her birthday and congratulate her. Nada! From no one at the hotel. Not during breakfast, not during lunch, and the worst was yet to come during dinner.
We arrived at the restaurant, where I personally reminded the waiters of my wife’s birthday. They had been informed they told me. But to say that what was to come was disappointing is an understatement.
The staff essentially ignored us for 45 min before taking our orders and after taking our orders they took another hour to serve us our food. The surprising and irritating thing to me was that while we were waiting the waiters were attending to those around us.
After starting to become impatient (we were at the restaurant with our 3 year old son, who’s birthday was on the same day as my wife’s), I went up to the restaurant staff to inquire about our dinner.
They didn’t even acknowledge me. They were all glued to their phones. I had to speak up to get their attention. In the end, they served us our food (which was exceptional) but took more than an hour to be served. Most likely they forgot to put in the order because after my complaint it took approx. 15 min to be served our dinner.
After dinner, the staff was supposed to surprise my wife and son with birthday cakes. I went upstairs to check it the cakes had arrived, but they hadn’t. I had to go down to the reception to inquire about the cakes and found out that they didn’t take cakes to our rooms, because their staff member was afraid if our golden retriever. I offered to carry the cake on a tray upstairs myself to ensure we wouldn’t have to wait yet again. Our son needed to be brought to bed.
During the course of all these mediocre experiences I didn’t receive any apologies. On the day of our departure, I asked to speak with their manager, who said to me that “this happens 1 out of 100 times at their hotel,” as if it would console me. In fact, his message made my experience with the Schloss Bensberg even more disappointing.
I was offered a voucher for a day at their Spa to
make up for the bad experience we made. Their Spa, however, is maybe the least interesting part of their hotel. I would describe it as rather basic.
i spent ~ 1500€ for 2 nights, a massage and facial treatment, 1 breakfast, and 2 dinners.
The food at their restaurants was very good. We visited two of their restaurants. One was Italian I believe (located in the basement next to the spa area. The other upstairs, not far from the Italian restaurant but on the ground floor). Their breakfast is standard, nothing special. The service was extremely disappointing.
I have had the privilege to stay at many 5 star hotels in Europe and North America. Never experienced anything like that before.

Beautiful Hilltop Castle, with incredible views day and night. Service was impeccable, really really appreciate everything they did before and after our wedding day. They offered us extra room to do my wife's hair and makeup. It was an extremely hot day and they gave us access to one of their Saals to do our wedding photos in. They have a beautiful outdoor garden area with seating for a drink, coffee, or food. The spa and wellness we will have to come back and try in the near future.

We were in the room 314 last weekend. We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff is very kind and professional. The tea time with the piano is a great moment. The spa is also very good.
I scored it 4 stars because there's room for improvement. The technology/connectivity in the rooms are very limited. In 2023, in a 5 stars hotel we're expecting more.
Also everybody was complaining about how cold it is at night while eating at the Dali's bar. We were literally freezing there. The staff was great though, but they couldn't do much about the cold.
The food served at the Dali's bar is below average.

Very average experience, definitely not 5 star worthy as absolutely overpriced for what you get. Very large hotel (120 rooms) at bokking direct with the hotel, they said fully booked but an upgrade was possible for extra money. At arrival probably max. 25% booked by my judgement. Rooms/design under par (my personal opinion. As very frequent traveler no way +500 Euro per night worth the experience as very “cold” felt place not castle 🏰 worth. The food very average not up to standard. Bed 🛏️ was good, would not recommend this spot for romantic getaway/weekend. Stunning venue for your private event or wedding for sure. It's a little out of the way from Cologne and Bonn, but certainly a good stop over for cross continental drivers.
The grounds and the hotel are stunning and staff are very kind and acoomodating.
Here again, I have to stress that it's rather a couples and business hotel rather than a family one. Even though their rooms are very spacious and perfect for a larger family, there aren't any facilities to cater for little ones. Even in the pool area, we were told multiple times to keep the kids quite (who ever has succeeded keeping two 2year olds and a 5 year old quiet in a pool, I need to know)
Breakfast had a great selection of cold and warm buffet, here again, dirty looks towards noisy children. Room service for kids dishes was good, two different pastas and Schnitzel.
Otherwise, the bar was very nice and offered a vast selection of steak cuts and selected wines.
All in all good hotel, worth a visit if around or wait for their sister hotel Dom to open in city centre Cologne.
