June 2023 trip to Churu and Sethani ka johara comes up in every search of interesting places to visit in Churu. We really felt sad visiting this place. So dirty. This place is so beautiful in pictures. But reality is different. Only carelessness of the people who frequent the place. We should be proud of our heritage and save such National monuments. Dear responsible authorities, please take some action.

This is a heritage site. These can be seen on the churu-sardarshahar road. Due to being very old, many people are not attracted towards it. Despite being such an old heritage, it is not maintained.

The temple's majestic ambiance makes it a must-visit for a profound connection with the divine, an experience that lingers long after you leave.

This place of religious importance is located in the town of Salasar in Rajasthan. The temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman who is also known by the name Balaji. The temple is constructed in white marble stone. The prayer hall of the temple and the Sanctum is marvelously designed in the work of silver and gold. The temple is also called the Salasar Dham which is the Place of Power.
Must must visit 🚩

Shri Balaji is a Hanuman God reincarnation (or form). It is worshipped in the whole of India by all the communities. It is one of the highly travelled and visited temple in India. One will always be mesmerized with the aura of Balaji. Therefore, one must visit the place.

Popular temple devoted to lord Hanuman ji in Churu district of Rajasthan. Different gates to enter the temple premises. We entered from one gate and came out from the other. Then we walked all the way to get back to the initial gate, so remember your gate number to get your shoes back. Premises is very huge. We actually walked a lot inside the temple premises before seeing the God's idol. One can do the Darshan very well which is the best part.
Dolly Bhatt — Google review
It was a very beautiful visit to the Salasar Balaji Dham. I've visited here in the morning around 6:30 a.m. and there was a minimal crowd at the temple, because of which we have had our darshan in a minimum of time.
You can take rest and have a bath nearby, I've taken bath with hot water with just Rs 30 per person. After that we had our darshan and shopping at the market.
The nearest railway station to the dham is the "Sujangarh Railway Station", from there, buses are departing regularly to take the devotees to the temple of Balaji. It took only 30 minutes through the bus from the station to visit the temple.
Rituraj Singh — Google review
Nice and beautiful temple
Many people visit this divine place. But Heavy rush on weekends. Good temple management by temple authorities. They have an arrangement of 5 moving lines (rear ones higher like in Stadiums) so that there is less wait time and everyone can have good darshan. Lines continously keep moving.
Parking space is less but that is true of most temples. As infrastructure and Hinduism increase in India, temples have started getting more and more devotees.
There are several shops outside the temple selling Prasad, but the shop inside the temple premises is preferable. 1/2 kg laddoos are Rs 200/-.
Due to continous flow of devotees in the lines, one would not see touts. The temple management is inside the temple premises and can be contacted for any help.
Narender Kumar — Google review
We reached the temple @6:15am. The place was not at all crowded, not more than 10 devotees could be found at this time. We took some prasad from outside, went in quickly just moving without a second of stoppage, and for the main darshan we had so much sufficient time that after "full tasalli" we cane outside. It is highly recommended to go early in the morning so you could quickly and peacefully complete your darshan.
P.S. : No photography is allowed once you reach near the idol.
Anand Soni — Google review
A very holy place for Hanuman devotees. The place is always crowded and there are lines for Darshan. But you can get VIP darshan by paying some amount to the temple committee. The inside temple is fully aur conditioned. The management is also good.

Jai shree Salasar Balaji, It is an old and divine temple situated near Sikar, Rajasthan. The atmosphere is magical and always attracts the devotees to come here for darshan and meditation (dhyan). The management committee has made proper arrangements for the facilities of people. The administration is also improving things timely. Super Crowded, always.
Would recommend to stay in Dharamshalas as they are affordable for every category of people. Pls do carry your ID.
Also, there are various beautiful temples in vicinity. Don't follow the blind crowd.
Also, child beggars are an issue. Government should definitely look into it. Why are there children begging on outside the gates of temples? It's a serious concern.

Best Worshipped place to head the Salasar Balaji, it good to be there after having a dharsan of Khatu Shayam Baba. Where there are so many Buses which runs between the Khatu Shayam to Salasar where these buses will drop you to Sikar and then you have to change the bus to Salasar where fare equals to Rupees 120 for one Person.

Jai Bajrangbali 🙏
Balaji's supreme temple Salasar Darbar of Rajasthan.
This temple is situated at a short distance from the bus stand. If you are coming from far to visit Balaji then here you will find Dharamshala for comfortable stay or very good hotels for food. Most of the devotees come on Tuesday or Saturday so it may take you some time to get darshan.
Parking arrangements are available nearby.

Crammed with history. Come for a tour, understand the historical significance of the place that led to the creation of these havelis. Roam around the fully restored haveli. And stay back for lunch / dinner. Staying in this Haveli itself is also a good option.

The mansion is really typical with antic paints, beautiful balconies and wooden door. On top of that, Khan (nicest man we’ve meet in India) offers you a unique experience by sharing a lot about the Bikaner’s culture and traditions. Khan was very helpfull during all our stay and even offered us to guide through the city for pleasure to make us discover wonders of Bikaner’s old city ! Step Back in Time - Laxmangarh Fort, Sikar
My recent visit to Laxmangarh Fort in Sikar, Rajasthan, was nothing short of a journey through history. This imposing architectural marvel transported me back in time, offering a glimpse into the region's rich heritage and royal past.
From the moment I entered the fort's gates, I was captivated by the intricate detailing on the walls and the grandeur of the structure. The craftsmanship and architecture of the fort are truly commendable, reflecting the artistic excellence of a bygone era.
Exploring the fort's various sections, including the palace, courtyards, and corridors, felt like unraveling the layers of a fascinating story. The well-preserved frescoes and murals adorned with vibrant colors and intricate designs were a testament to the artistic sensibilities of the time.
The panoramic view from the fort's vantage points was nothing short of breathtaking. It provided a sweeping panorama of the town of Sikar and its surroundings, giving me a unique perspective of the region's landscape.

Built in 1902 on the eastern side of town, and known locally as 'Podar Haveli', this is one of the region’s few buildings to have been thoroughly restored. The paintings of this haveli (traditional, ornately decorated residence) are the most vivid murals in town, although purists point to the fact that they have been simply repainted rather than restored.
On the ground floor are galleries on Rajasthani culture, including costumes, turbans, musical instruments and models of Rajasthan’s forts.

A beautiful haveli. This is one of the few havelis in Shekhawati which are well maintained. It’s used for many pre wedding shoots. It’s in Nawalgarh inside in the busy streets of the market. You will see a very nice old man playing music for you. He did a private show for us and we were happy with that. I am attaching a video of the same with the review. The person who takes care of the Haveli is also very nice and told us a lot about the haveli and it’s Owner. He even took nice pictures as he was aware of the right spots for the same.

If you are a someone who adores art and paintings and are looking for an escape from the hustle of city life and travel vibes. Nawalgarh is just the right stop for you. When you are here do visit 3 Havelies (Poddar, Morarka, Chokhani). and Shiva temple.
Entry fees approx. INR 80/- for each haveli.
What art? Fresco paintings and surely one of the best!
While Poddar haveli has been renovated somewhere in the 90s and purposes to educate Rajasthani culture through miniature replica in each set room, the other two boasts of original paintings as well as original upkeeps (expect normal wear and tear of assets).
Bargain with the guides and you will get a better insight of haveli infrastructures (like toran dwar, old age sewaks and the use of differently abled etc).
People of this town are really warm, do also stroll around Nawalgarh market, the city is divided between old and new city.

The Poddar Museum in Nawalgarh stands as a captivating testament to Marwari traders' legacy. Housing an incredible collection of frescoes and medieval artifacts, it unveils the opulent history of those who built grand havelis through prosperous trading. Each exhibit whispers tales of a bygone era, where wealth flowed from bustling trade routes, and intricate art adorned the walls. The museum, like a time capsule, preserves the essence of Marwari heritage, allowing visitors to step back into the enchanting world of these traders and marvel at the artistic and economic splendor that defined their era.

Harshnath Temple, Sikar
It is the temple situated in Sikar city. It is dedicated to the Lord Shiva and situated on the hill top. It is very amazing place to visit.
Harshnath Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which is situated in the Sikar district of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is located 14 km from district headquarters Sikar.
This Shiva temple, according to an inscription dated 973 CE, was built by the Shiv ascetic Bhavarakta, during the reign of Chahamana king Vigraharaja I. It is surrounded by various shrines which lie in ruins. In 1718 Rao Shivsingh constructed a new temple adjacent to the old temple using the ruins of the old temple.
The temple provides an excellent view of the surrounding area and that is why the people who visit this place can climb the beautiful Aravalli and can enjoy the views. It is believed that the temple is more than 200 years old and the original temple was destroyed in 1679 AD by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
But in the year 1718 AD, Rao Shivsingh made a new construction of the temple which is adjacent to the old temple using the remains of the old temple. The backdrop of the temple is marvelous and due to the presence of the temple, Sikar is being one of the important religious sites of Rajasthan.

Road is too risky so avoid go there in rain fall. Road turn is so difficult and big stone are big hurdles while driving. After cross these difficulties you can realise that all your efforts are not waste. View is awesome and Windmills too. Clouds are just touch your head and body. So over all experience is wonderful.

Harshnath is an ancient temple on Harshgiri dedicated to Lord Shiva and dates to 956 AD. As per the Archaeological Survey of India, the temple was built by a Shaivite Bhavarakta known as Allata during the reign of Vigraharaja I of the Chahamana dynasty.
Most people have not heard about the Chahamana dynasty. Many historians consider the origin of Chauhan Rajput rulers to Chahamana. Chahamana dynasty ruled over a vast area of Rajasthan and Haryana from the 7th to 12th centuries. Their earlier capital was in Sambhar famous for the salt & delicious Indian sweet -Fini. They worshipped Shakhambari Mata and this temple still exists in Sambhar. Ajmer became their next capital under the rule of Ajayraja. That’s how the name Ajmer is derived. Chahamana repulsed attacks by the famous Muslim invader Mohammed Ghazni of the middle east. Famous Adhai Din Ka Jhompra which was converted into a mosque under the Mughal rule was built by this dynasty. Chahamanas were famous as Chauhans of Shakhambari and later as Chauhans of Ajmer.
Sergeant E Dean discovered Harshnath temple on 3rd December 1834 AD. In 1835, he presented a paper to the Asiatic Society along with an inscription deciphered from this site. The inscription provides great information on the history of the Chauhan dynasty and the names of places under their rule. He referred to this temple as Shiva Baidyanath in his paper and mentioned that the stone quality is similar to the one in Qutub (Minar) in Delhi. Dean was of the opinion that the Chauhan dynasty of Rajasthan was related to the rulers of Kannauj. He further noted that this mountain was home to Leopard’s and Neelgai. There’s an interesting mythological story of Harshnath and Jeen Mata which claims that they are both brother and sister. This temple is built in Maha-Meru style
The common belief is that the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb destroyed the original Harshnath Temple in 1679 AD along with many other temples across India under a fatwah against Hindu temples. The original 10th-century temple is made of stones. The temple has beautiful and intrinsic carvings on the pillars and ceiling. This temple is contemporary to the famous Khajuraho temples. They were built during the same time period and one can see many similarities in their architecture & structure. You can’t miss this beautiful idol of Nandi made of white Makrana marble. I’m not sure if this was installed when the new temple was built in the 18th century or if it’s from the 10th century. As a custom, the idol of Nandi is commonly installed in Shiva temples because it is considered as the trusted steed of Shiva. As per Hinduism, every Hindu god has a Vahana or vehicle. Nandi is considered as the gate guardian of Shiva. It stands for truth as well as righteousness.
These two temples are not the only temples on the Harsh Parvat. There’s yet another one situated a little further and doesn’t even resemble a temple structure. This temple must have been built during the 18th century since stones and idols from the ruined temple have been used in the facade. It is Behrun Ji ka Mandir and you need to descend down to a lower level to reach the sanctum.
I assume this one is more popular among the locals since there was a flurry of activity and a number of Pandits. While Harshnath temple is under ASI, I assume this one is privately managed. The priest issued an “advanced warning” against photographing the idol and temple.

Harshnath Temple is located on Sikar Harsh Jeen mata Marg road near Mandawara village. The way to reach is very easy and good roads even greenery will attract you towards nature.Harshnath is considered to be the Bhairav of Goddess Jeen mata that's why both the Temples are always presents near by each other.
In navratri you may feel rush and high crowds of devotee it is said that until you want make a bow infront of Harshnath temple after Jeen mata your approach of Jeen mata is considered to be incomplete.
All the facilities are very good like fooding ,staying at hotels ,water etc

A 10th century marvel situated on a hill in Sikar. The temple is old and the ambience is great. You feel a sense of peace. The road to get to the top is windy so those of who are queasy, be prepared. There are 3 temples, one at Level 0, one Level 1 and the last Level -1.

Must visit place.
Harshnath Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which is situated in the Sikar district of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is located about 60km from Khatu Shyam ji temple at top of hill with awesome view. Be aware of falling rocks while driving uphill or downhills. You will loose tiredness of travel after reaching. If you visit on a foggy day you may not be able to enjoy the view of plane area around, But will have a sunny place in cold weather all around. Also so many wind mills are there which make the place to much photogenic.
Car parking area available free of cost. Children play area available there.

The original temple was a specimen of the Chahamana art and architecture style, but was destroyed and defaced in the late Mughal era. The temple today has been reconstructed using the remnants of the original structure. The restoration work is shoddy, with no proper protection of the pieces discovered on the site. The damage is irreparable, but ASI should do much more to protect and rejuvenate such sites belonging to small towns which don't usually appear on the tourist circuit.
The temple premises are peaceful and serene. Devotees and tourist management is quite good. I have been told that the hill becomes much more picturesque in the monsoons. There is Ample parking space on the hill. Monkeys abound in the premises, but don't worry unless you have food packets in your hand. Do not entertain monkeys, please. If you happen to visit here, make sure you interact with the pujaris here who will tell you the details of the temple and the deities presiding there.

A very nice place to view the city of Jaipur, the fort is very well conserved and the annex palace is very beautiful with lot of details and Persian/Arabian influence. The most beautiful is the city view, go to the roof and see there, don't miss it!!! Recomendable visit for just 250 rupees for foreigners ;)

The view from up the fort is amazing. It is frequented by people either at sunset or sunrise for the mesmerizing sight of the city plunging into or coming out of darkness. There are dedicated points for sighting sunsets, which are very crowded. The bike or car can be taken till the last point in the fort, which saves time and effort. There is a restaurant inside, a picnic can also be arranged. It's a great place to hangout and chill with friends with such a beautiful landscape in the background.

The Nahargarh's citadel significance lies in the fact that it once formed the defense of the city along with its neighboring fortresses. Jaigarh Fort, located in Jaipur, was built in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II to protect the Amber Fort complex. The fort spans 3 km in length and 1 km in breadth and offers stunning views of Maota Lake and Amer Fort. It houses temples, residential complexes, and well-preserved water reservoirs. One of its main attractions is the Jaivana Cannon, known as the world's largest cannon on wheels.
A huge fort which hosts a huge huge cannon. You can walk along the magnificent walls of the fort and get a very good view from there. But except for the huge cannon and the view there is the nothing much to see. You either visit this or Nahargarh fort. Visiting both is not really worth it if you are on a tight schedule of day or 2 in Jaipur.
This is usually deserted a little compared to Amer fort. So monkeys fill the space. Beware of the monkey menace. I recommend carrying a stick with you while walking along the fort walls just in case you encounter monkeys.

Good fort.. guides won’t trouble much here. There is a restaurant inside, and if you want to eat in it, you don’t need to buy tickets. So you literally pay nothing for tickets here if you planning on eating too. Big water tanks, towers, a big canon which was only ever tested only once and it made so much sound that the people who fired it became deaf even though jumped in water… and the provision made to jump in water is interesting to watch.

After Amber fort, this is the 2nd Must visit the fort in Jaipur. After visiting Amber Fort you can visit this palace. There is plenty of parking facilities available and the road is also in good shape. With extra pay, you can take a vehicle inside the fort to every location if you have elder people with you. I would suggest to explore by walk only. Spend around 2 hours to visit the whole palace as the area is too big. The view of the city and the area around is breathtaking. This fort is managed by the king himself.
It has the biggest canon in the world, which was never used in any battle. It has the biggest water tank which was used to store treasury won in the battle along with Akbar.
The views from the fort are great, you can see the panoramic view of the green hills surrounding the fort. If you go to the last point, you can see the full Amer fort from there.

Jaigarh fort is not that famous as Amer fort,
Except the biggest Cannon there is nothing much to watch.

The ticket price is too high , 150/person (Indian adult) and I don't think to be worth.
If you are fond of taking photos, then this place is right for you because people come here rarely and it is mostly empty, so you can click photos of your choice.

Jaigarh fort is where the biggest cannon is placed. It is mesmerizing how they placed the cannon and other armoury at the top of the hills in those old era when there were no machines no roads! It is just beautiful.
The views from the fort are great, you can see the panoramic view of the green hills surrounding the fort. If you go to the last point, you can see the full Amer fort from there.
It is a complete maze though, you can easily get lost if you don't remember the path or don't have a guide with you.
The only con is that even though the maintenance of this fort is privatized, the cleanliness is not up to the mark.

I really liked the fort and knowing about the history behind it. Would recommend getting a guide as they tell you the details of the rainwater harvesting and the cannon which is believed to be world's largest. Stay away from the shop inside the fort. They sell overprices sarees and other things, you can get the same product at half the price in the handicraft village near amber fort. There is a lot of paid parking space available in case you are planning to drive. The fort offers a very good view of amber palace and if you are interested you can hike till the palace from the fort itself as there are tunnels and walking trails. Would recommend visiting early morning as the crowd is very less that time.

It's a very beautiful fort. I was there in the afternoon hoping to see the sunset but it was quite early to see that. We parked outside at the parking area and bought tickets. The museum area was super impressive and I could see different eras of history there. I was surprised because the road that led to the fort was huge like the ancestors knew that we would drive cars there. The view of the city and the area around was breathtaking. We walked through every part of the fort and pretended we were some royal members. The fort was not crowded at all. Maybe it was late so that visitors left the place and moved to another place to see. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the silence there. Before leaving the fort, we asked to visit a small temple there to pray.

Sheesh Mahal, also known as the Mirror Palace, is a stunning pavilion within Amber Fort that was once used by the imperial family. The palace is renowned for its intricate mirror work, featuring traditional motifs and lotus designs adorning thousands of small mirrors. It is said that even the light from a single candle could illuminate the entire Sheesh Mahal. This historical gem served as the backdrop for iconic scenes in Bollywood films and has become a popular spot for visitors seeking Instagram-worthy photos.

Sheesh Mahal is also known as the Mirror Palace. Gorgeous precious stones and glass, beautifully hand-crafted paintings make Sheesh Mahal a wonder. It is the most well-known and attractive feature of Amer Fort, constructed by Maharaja Man Singh in the 16th century. However, by 1727 AD, the construction had come to an end. In ancient times, the queen was not permitted to sleep outside. She desired to be able to see the stars while sleeping. As a result, the king asked his architects to design a mahal that would remedy the issue. The reflections of the candles in the glass ceiling mirror keep the space warm. You can no longer enter the hall of Sheesh mahal, but you can admire the fantastic artwork on the Sheesh mahal's glass from the outside. The hall's walls and ceiling consists of exquisite artwork and flowers made of pure glass and valuable stone. And the location of the ceiling glass is fantastic. Because of this, if someone lights two candles, the reflection changes that modest light into thousands of stars, which looks fantastic and gives you an idea of the degree of architecture in India at the time.

Explore the epitome of royal opulence at the Sheesh Mahal, the resplendent glass palace nestled within the historic Amer Fort in Jaipur, also known as the Pink City. This architectural masterpiece is a vivid testament to the artistic brilliance of Rajasthan's royalty.
The Sheesh Mahal, or the "Mirror Palace," stands as a mesmerizing blend of Islamic and Rajput architectural influences, showcasing intricate mirror work, exquisite glass mosaics, and captivating handmade paintings. Built by King Man Singh during the 16th century and completed in 1727, this palace is a manifestation of the king's desire to provide a celestial experience for his queen.
One of the most iconic aspects of the Sheesh Mahal is its unique ceiling design, adorned with glass and precious stones. By the flicker of just two candles, this ceiling transforms into a breathtaking celestial panorama, resembling a starlit night sky. This ingenious design served both aesthetic and functional purposes, as it not only created an enchanting ambiance but also retained warmth during the colder months.
The Sheesh Mahal's significance extends to the realm of cinema as well. It served as the enchanting backdrop for the legendary song "Jab Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya" from the classic Bollywood film "Mughal-e-Azam," starring the iconic Madhubala. This artistic fusion of architecture and cinema has left an indelible mark in history.
Though the interior access to the Sheesh Mahal is currently restricted, the exterior offers a tantalizing glimpse of the intricate glasswork that defines its magnificence. With a simple flashlight pointed at the ceiling, you can witness a glimpse of the starry spectacle that once enamored the palace's occupants.
Visiting this gem requires a modest entry fee, which varies for Indian and foreign tourists, along with camera charges. The Sheesh Mahal welcomes visitors from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, inviting them to step into a world where architecture and celestial beauty intertwine.

A beautiful attraction point, in the ancient times they used to blow one candle and the reflection of a single candle gave huge lights in the complete sheesh mahal, they have built the complete section with small pieces of mirror which use to reflect and provide lights.

Mirrors and reflection.
The Sheesh Mahal is elaborately decorated with a myriad of reflective glass tiles. The building's ceiling is also adorned with mirror-work.

Sheesh Mahal in Jaipur is a mesmerizing jewel in India's architectural crown. As I stepped into this ethereal palace, I was transported to a world of enchantment. The walls adorned with thousands of tiny mirrors reflect the grandeur of an era long past, creating an atmosphere of pure magic. Each glimmering shard tells a story of Rajput craftsmanship, a testament to their artistic genius. The play of light and shadow here is poetry in motion. Sheesh Mahal isn't just a palace; it's a symphony of light, history, and artistry that leaves an indelible mark on every visitor's soul. Truly, a wonder of wonders.

The pinkcity houses some of the best looking royal palaces of Rajasthan one of which is the Sheesh Mahal, the glass palace of Jaipur. Made with extremely opulent decor and beauty of the architecture the Sheesh Mahal provides us a glimpse of the royal artistry and love for aesthetics. The construction of the Mahal is a wonderful specimen of Islamic architectural influence on Rajasthani architecture. This royal palace is a perfect blend of Islamic style and Rajput mix.
Sheesh mahal and also called as the mirror palace is one of the refined magnificent piece of architecture built with beautiful precious stones and glass, coated with beautiful handmade paintings. Sheesh mahal is the most popular and beautiful part of Amer Fort. It is located in Amer, Jaipur.
This palace was built by king Man Singh in 16th century and completed in 1727. It is also the foundation year of jaipur state. This palace is also known for the bollywood legendary movie “Mughal-e-Azam” iconic song “Jab pyar kiya to darna kya”. It was shot in Sheesh Mahal on legendary actress Madhubala which played the role of “Anarkali” in the movie. And the combo of both “Sheesh mahal” and Madhubala came out excellent and rest was history.
The wall and ceiling of the hall is carved with beautiful paintings and flowers which was made of pure glass and precious stone. And the placement of ceiling glass is wonderful. Because of this if someone burns two candles, then the reflection converts that small light into thousand of stars and it looks awesome and by this you can get the idea of what was the level of architecture in that time in India.
The reason behind why this mahal was made by glass because in ancient days the queen was not allowed to sleep in open air but she loved to see the stars while sleeping. Hence the king ordered his architects to make that kind of mahal which could solve the problem. The architects built Sheesh mahal which was built with stones and glass and at night the reflection of two candles in glass looked like stars in the whole room. The King used to shift from Sukh Niwas to Sheesh Mahal in winter season. The ceiling of mirror glass reflection from the candles keep the room warm. Now days entry in the Sheesh mahal is restricted however from the outside we can see the beautiful art work of the glass in the Sheesh mahal and with a flash light pointing to the ceiling we can easily see the stars in the morning. Hence because of the queen we are able to witness the beautiful architecture which is one of the reason for the fame of the famous fort Amber.

Sheesh Mahal is also known as the Mirror Palace. Gorgeous precious stones and glass, beautifully hand-crafted paintings make Sheesh Mahal a wonder.
Sheesh Mahal has stood testament to the changing time and evolving cityscape that is today a reflection of the beauty and grandeur of the royals of Rajasthan. Mirror-work has long played a significant role in all types of decor, and Rajasthan takes the credit for introducing the world to novel ways of utilising mirrors.

Not a great tourist spot, Believe Jaipur tourist destinations are losing their shine. Lack of proper maintenance is visible everywhere. You may not feel good to enter the fort but once you climb, you have an excellent view from the top. Amber fort is much better than Hawa mahal.

JAIGARH FORT, Devisinghpura, Amer, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302028, India
Amber Palace, also known as Amer Fort, is a stunning architectural marvel in Jaipur that showcases an exquisite blend of Indian and Mughal styles. This historical site was home to wealthy Maharajas and features intricate designs in pink and yellow sandstone with white marble embellishments. Visitors can enjoy elephant rides up the cobbled path to experience royal treatment. The fort's beauty has been preserved through centuries of war and conflict, making it a must-see attraction.
Amazing experience. The fort is beautiful and the guide takes you around the fort explaining all the details and key notes about the history. There are several view points and photography points to take good pictures. You can also take elephant ride inside the fort. Must visit palace!

Must visit, before reading Wiki or after hiring a guide but beware..you will end up buying the stuff you don't need. Tip - visit at the earliest to get ample parking space. Take your car and follow google map, it will show you entire path till parking on top. Any car can go above, provided you can drive or if it's an old car, you can still go with ease if you simply reach there early morning around 8. Ticker counter opens at 8AM

The fort is marvelous! It has got all the pomp it could have. You will start enjoying its beauty as we touch the road towards the fort. There are elephant rides that take you to the fort, which foreigners hardly miss😅. It is very big, every structure in the fort is intricately decorated, thoughtfully created. I think it's one of the few forts in India which stands with that level of preservation. This fort is truly an identity of the 'Gulabi Sheher'! Jaipur trip can't be complete without a visit to Amber fort.

Lovely fort. Must visit if you are in Jaipur and you love forts. The place is humongous. The front portion of the fort looks mesmerizing with the lake in front. Try to visit there as early as possible. The place holds so much history and is built for such a long time. Every section of the fort has something or other to offer. Check out all the places. Just imagining while standing there as what it might have felt in its prime is magnificent.

Jaipur trip must start with Amer/Amber fort. Highly recommended to visit in evening so that one can enjoy the lights in the Palace.
Hire a local guide and a Jeep to carry you from the parking space to the top of fort. May try personal vehicle if familiar.
There is a light and sound show but locals don't recommend it.
Hiring the guide is must to understand the history of the palace.

It is a great historical place, if you are planning to see tourist places in Jaipur you must visit this particular place. It is advisable to hire only an official guide which has been available on the upper side of the palace near the ticket counter.

Amber Fort needs maintenance, Although it is declared as a world heritage site. Such as restoration of painting, walls, etc, so that it can attract more visitors. They need to maintain parking facilities at the front and rear gates.

A historical palace and a must visit fort in Jaipur. This fort will take around 2-3 hours to visit entirely. The interiors of the fort are mesmerizing. If you take the guide, they will explain all the history of the palace, which is very interesting. There is a cave from within the palace that goes to Jaigarh fort, but it closes at 4. The fort looks even better in the evening when the lighting starts.
You can either walk up the stairs to reach the palace, or take a jeep (Rs. 500 per jeep for up and down) or take your own car to the top where there is parking space available.
There is also a light and sound show that tells the history of the fort's construction and expansion. The entrance of the light and sound show is at a different place outside the palace. You can take your own car to the light and sound show place, won't recommend taking the auto or jeep from the parking for this.

City of forts and palaces - Jaipur. When you are driving from Delhi Amber Palace is the 1st palace you will encounter. This Palace is located 10-12km form city on the outskirts overlooking the city. Its a very huge palace from where you can see the walls on the hills. We visited here around 15:00 in April. It was very hot. If you are reaching in noon do take a water bottle and a cap. Don't get in touch with any local guide as they give wrong information's. We can take our own vehicle up and till the entrance of the palace.
This palace needs an entry ticket of 50/- per head (Both offline & online available). Also, night light show is available and it starts from 19:00 till 22:00 with 21:30 as last entry. A beautiful place to see the sunset tooo.
Enjoy the beauty of AMBER Palace/.!!

Fort is beautiful. It gets really hot during the summer so recommended travel is in slightly cooler days. There is no wheel chair accessibility to the top. There are folks asking for elephant rides near the ticket counter, it’s a humble request do not do it - since the elephants are poorly treated and sometimes they scam you by taking you nowhere.

One of the best places in Jaipur. The fort is simple and neat. The fort's narrow route through the Amer Village is a unique experience that comes along. Note: Opting out a guide will be a good add-on.

A must see in Jaipur. It’s grandeur and beauty is well maintained and the view from the palace is awesome. Be prepared for a long walk. I recommend visiting early in the morning, with a guide and possibly during off season. We were told that during peak season the wait time for vehicles to climb the hill is 2 hours or more. Do visit the ancient temples nearby.

Elefantastic is a sanctuary for Asian elephants in Jaipur, India that offers visitors the opportunity to interact with these majestic animals through activities such as feeding, walking and washing them. Unlike other places, people here are not allowed to ride the elephants. The workers at Elefantastic treat the elephants well and provide visitors with valuable information about the sanctuary and its inhabitants. This unique experience of being close to an elephant is a must-do for any animal lover visiting Jaipur.
Let me state that I am an animal lover/activist and very aware of animal exploitation.
While visiting India I witnessed many working elephants/animals in general in the street which broke my heart. It’s easy to get angry and not want to support the industry. I completely agree with that, but do realize the elephant in India is tradition and I respect that this is their way of life. I researched elephant sanctuaries in Jaipur and also researched elephant experiences out of curiosity. Elephantastic was the most humane one I found. I booked the experience last minute on a Sunday for a Monday. They were very accommodating. I read the bad reviews where people said the phone calls were rude, but I don’t think they understand the Indian culture of being short and to the point, also English is the second language for the owners, so cut them some slack.
I found it confusing to book as they don’t have a direct link on their website to purchase the experience. You must first email them to then have them reply and set up the encounter.
Our experience was 10,200 rupees which was worth EVERY PENNY. If you love animals, this is for you. You are as up close and personal as you want to be. It started with a pickup at our hotel by an amazing driver who was friendly and English speaking. He gave us a tour of the city on our way to the sanctuary.
When we got there, it didn’t look like much but our minds were quickly changed. We had a quick safety talk with the owner and then we were introduced to the elephants. They were a great weight, appear healthy, and happy. We fed them bananas to gain their trust then spent a ton of time petting, loving on her, and speaking with her personal keeper, asking any questions we had. The employees were all friendly and answered all of my inquiries. We continued to take photos while feeding her.
We then gave her a shower which she absolutely loved. The kids in the group next to us painted their elephant (nontoxic) but we passed. We then bathed her where you could see she loved it. From there we walked her (you have to walk through elephant village which is sad because other companies chain their elephants) but once you get to the trail it’s nice and you can see the elephant watering hole. If you’re lucky you can see an elephant happy and bathing. When we got back we were taxi’d to the owners moms house for the most incredible vegetarian food. Easily the best I’ve had while traveling india. The driver then took us back to the hotel. He was sweet and remembered the places we had told him about wanting to check out while making small talk that morning… he brought us to a beautiful textile store and a blue pottery store and also recommended a place for dinner.
Overall, I recommend Elephantastic because they are keeping the Indian tradition alive while offering an alternative to tourists who want to interact with ele’s. They are the most humane option and I choose to support that. I have told my friends about it and will come back the next time I am in Jaipur.

An amazing afternoon with friendly staff and even friendlier elephants! Able to spend several hours interacting with the elephants, feeding them, taking photos and painting them.
Despite the 30-odd degree heat, the area was well covered and shaded, and washing down the elephants (and them washing you!) certainly helped.
After this, we were welcomed into the family home for some lovely homemade food.
Overall, it was an incredible experience with a family who care just as well for their guests as they do their friendly elephants. Thank you to all of the team and family for an unforgettable day!

My friends and I tried very hard to find an ethical elephant sanctuary and it seems these guys do care. We had a lovely day with Pinky the elephant, taking her on a walk and washing her.
It did feel a bit weird when they ask you to sit down then and there and write a TripAdvisor review for them, but hey ho.

Note: The actual location is in "Haathi Gaon".
This place is a must visit for any animal/elephant lover. It's one of the most unique experiences ever. You're assigned an elephant and are allowed to bond with it for 2hrs by feeding, washing, and taking a walk with them. As an animal lover who doesn't like riding them, it was a welcome sight to see a majestic creature given due respect and love it deserves.
Visiting this place is not just pure fun but it's also great for the elephants themselves as they get human contact as well as the fees go towards their food and well being.

I had the privilege of visiting Elefantastic in Jaipur, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. My day was spent with Chaku, a sweet 13-year-old female elephant, and it was love at first sight.
We began with an introduction, where I was immediately impressed by Chaku's gentle nature and friendly demeanor. It was amazing to be able to feed her delicious bananas and juicy leaves. Her affection and gratitude were palpable, making the interaction even more special.
One of the highlights of my visit was painting with natural colors on Chaku. Not only was it fun and creative, but it was also heartwarming to see how much she enjoyed it as we worked. It was clear that she relished being the center of attention and adorning herself with colorful patterns.
The Elefantastic team deserves all the praise for their dedication and care. They took excellent care of not only Chaku but also me and the other visitors. They provided us with refreshing drinks, delicious food, and facilities for showering and changing. I truly felt pampered and looked after throughout my entire stay.
What touched me the most was the loving approach towards the elephants. Elefantastic clearly goes above and beyond mere tourist attractions. They create an environment where the elephants are treated with respect and their well-being is a top priority. This made my experience all the more meaningful, knowing that I was part of something that has a positive impact on these magnificent animals.
If you're looking for a perfect morning filled with interaction and love with elephants, Elefantastic is the ideal destination. It will warm your heart and leave you with unforgettable memories. I cannot recommend them enough!

Wow, what a phenomenal and unique experience!
I came here with my partner while in Jaipur and it was one of the best parts of our trip. The elephants are so well taken care of (people are not allowed to ride the elephants) and you spend a few hours bathing the elephant, feeding it, and walking it. They seem very happy to be with people and in the sanctuary. The workers treat the elephants very well and shared lots of great information about the sanctuary and elephants. It's such a great experience and way for people to be so close to an elephant. This is a must do experience for any animal lover! When I visit Jaipur again, I will definitely come back here.

It Easy an amazing experience we had with the elefantastic family today. Our hearts are so happy I cannot really express completely. They're doing a wonderful job for the people getting to know the elephants in elefantastic.
We spent time with Shakku who grew as almost a sister to the owners, and we could feel the love and conection they had together.
The owners mom's cuisine was so delicious and she's very lovely woman. We could feel her love in the food and the way she received us ✨. All best for the people at elefantastic, when I come back to India, i'll definitely be coming again with them.
Please, be sure to call and reserve directly via WhatsApp with them because the hotel driver we had wanted to take us to other place where elephants aren't loved or treated well. Book it in advance because it may be crowded for high season in India.

Shaku was the Elephant assigned to us. We were told her name means peaceful and she lived up to her name. We felt very comfortable getting up close. As an animal lover, it was very important to me that the animals be fairly treated. It is clear that the elephants are well cared for here and live the best lives. The City Palace in Jaipur is an opulent 18th-century palace that once served as the residence of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and is now a museum. It's a popular historical attraction known for its beautiful collection of paintings, textile gallery, armory, Durbar hall, BaggiKhana, and SarvatoBhadraor (Diwan E-Khas) with exquisite architectural beauty.
It is a beautiful place to visit during day. Very photogenic place. A link of royal lineage, feel the royalty genre.
Remember to take a guide as it will be worth to take one otherwise you would come out without knowing the history and importance of this palace. There is a market inside the palace where local handcrafted items are displayed, prices are on higher side but if you want to support local craftsmanship then please buy from them as the money you spend here will directly help these awesome local creative people, most of them has received recognition from PM and government of India.

Jaipur is one city that transports you back to the Rajput era the moment you set foot there. It is dotted with architectural wonders and that is the reason why the city sees a good tourist footfall all year round. One such architectural delight right at the center of Jaipur is the City Palace; a symbol of the regal and royal days of the city.
City Palace is a building that has preserved the history of the city and is an icon of grandeur. Once you enter the palace all you can do is stand transfixed by its beauty while you soak in the marvelous architecture and the artifacts inside the palace. City Palace used to be the home for the royal family of Jaipur but later it was divided into two parts; one which contains few courtyards and museums and the other where the royal family still resides.

Nice palace complex in Jaipur with some interesting little exhibits in museums, the armour and weapons one being the highlight. The complex itself has a bunch of ticket options, with the most beautiful areas reserved for an expensive guided experience, so if you want to just look through yourself without a guide you won’t be able to see these nice parts of the place.
The basic combined ticket for 700 rupees will let you wander around the different areas and museums of the place which was still nice but it would be good to have an option to see the other parts on your own.

Explore a treasure trove of artifacts, architecture, ornaments, garments, vehicles, and insights into the royal lifestyle. For a captivating experience, enter the palace area at 5:30 PM during winters to witness its grandeur in both daylight and under lights before it closes at 6 PM. Noteworthy, the palace remains the residence of the royal family, adding an extra layer of historical resonance.

Brilliant show of ancient and traditional designs and blend of colours.
I would recommend to go in without a guide as there is not much history to explain. Even a small intro video would be more than enough for it.

It's a photogenic place but overcrowded.

The one of the best places in Jaipur and the most beautiful thing about this is there is still the king is here and if the flag hosted there is two the king is inside the palace, the architecture, paintings, dresses ,wow the main reason why everyone are still visiting India is that even without technology, mechanical advancement they managed to do amazing, extraordinary instruments which was perfectly based on calculation
Cons-

We must depend on local guide or packages and the places near are little dangerous and don't fell for scams
- i prefer taking food from were you are departing

The ticket to see all rooms is incredibly expensive. But they are also some of the most beautiful I’ve seen on my trip tomorrow so far. Plus, given the price, there aren’t many people in line to take pictures. The building itself is 5 stars.
Be aware, that the tour guide adds - as always and super annoying - a shop to this tour. Just be prepared to not be scammed. There seems to be not price in the world you can pay to avoid tour guides in this city to not bring you to their best friends shop. He made us leave the palace and where then being brought back.
I should suggest there must be a way for the ticket office to prevent such things. It’s highly annoying and always gives the whole experience a taste of bitterness.

A visit to this splendid palace is a journey through history. The palace seems to breathe, alive with the echoes of royal footsteps and the hushed whispers of history. The fusion of artistry and functionality is apparent in every detail.
It invites visitors to step into the shoes of history. I'd definitely visit again.

Very well maintained and a rich museum! Worth visiting during the day as well as night for the beautiful lighting all around the palace. Set aside sufficient time to explore the entire palace grounds..not the place if you're in a rush.

This is one of the MUST visit royal heritages in Jaipur. Entry fees is 200 rupees for resident indians, guide charges are extra.
2-3 hours are more than sufficient to visit this place including group photographs sessions.
There are few galleries where taking photographs is not allowed.
Places like photography hall, weapons hall are quite good.
There are few shops and restaurants situated inside this place.

It's a must visit if you're in Jaipur. The city palace is so named after the residence of the royal highness. It was built hundreds of years back.
There are various types of tickets available to enter it ranging from 300 to 3500 rupees. The 300 rs ticket will give you access to the museum and the outer part of the city palace, the 1500 rs ticket will give you access to the inside of the city palace whereas the 3500 one includes visit to the royal blue coloured palace that you'll find in the pictures.
We went with a 300 rupees entry as we were short of time and that only took an easy 3-4 hours with the help of a tour guide. Moreover, if you'll take a guide they'll take you to all the shops and artisans inside so be mindful of what you want to buy and what not to.

Worth visiting for folks who enjoy museums.
•Upkeep and maintenance by the royal family + trust there I believe the 200 INR (Indian Adult) per person may be justified.
•There are other more expensive ticket option available where you are allowed to see more galleries. Read about it on jaipurtouriam.co.in before hand because upon arrival there will be guides harassing you with all kinds of random information.
•Speaking of guides, expect haggling and general annoyance where they will follow you around and urge you to hire them, ofcourse for a fee (500 INR+). Expect this at all tourist places in Jaipur. In my opinion it is absolutely not worth the money because the information they tell you is often not correct and nothing more than what is already available on blogs/websites and also the plaques put in place for tourists to read. Moreover they hurry you along, skip galleries that tend to take longer and push their own agenda on you by taking you to shops so thay they earn further comission.
• City Palace with the 200 INR ticket has 4 Galleries open for view other than the Palace Grounds 1: Armoury 2: Royal Textiles 3: Painting and photographs 4: The royal court. Other than the palace grounds photography is prohibited.
• Overall worth visiting for a few hours. There is also a restaurant and cafe inside but due to pandemic and generally poor reviews didn't try them.

The most beautiful and well maintained palace. The king's family is still living here. They gave some parts to the government and the rest of them were for them. We can visit the king's private palace but have to buy a separate ticket for that.in public space we can see the weapons, dresses and photographs of the king's family.

The Palace is worth a visit as it offers some great insights in the life and lifestyle of previous and current Maharajas of Jaipur. The place is well maintained and Clean. It offers ample of space not only to stroll inside but also to sit and Relax. I won't recommend a guide when visiting here. There's ample parking space and requires 2-3 hours to peacefully explore this place.

It was just a magical place with so much of history. Much recommended, if you love the old architecture. Only concern is entry fee. Since the palace is maintained by king family itself entry fee is costly. Jaipur City Palace is a true gem, deserving of a 5-star rating. The intricate architecture, vibrant colors, and rich history create an enchanting experience. The museum is a treasure trove of royal artifacts, providing a captivating journey through Jaipur's regal past. The breathtaking views of the Pink City from the palace are simply awe-inspiring.

It is a lovely building, quite well preserved in general. It can be a bit chaotic and it is easy to skip some of the parts if you don’t pay attention, since there are not many indications. Very beautiful palace in the heart of Jaipur city. This is a must visit for experiencing the rich heritage and culture, if you’re visiting Jaipur. You can expect to see lots of artifacts, architecture, construction, ornaments, garments, vehicles and insights of the royal lifestyle of Jaipur’s royal family.
Highly recommend to enter the palace area at 5.30 PM during winters (entry closes at 6 PM) to see the palace in day light as well under lights.
Also note, the palace is still the residence of the royal family!

The City Palace in Jaipur is an exceptional monument, offering a rich glimpse into history. Admission prices are reasonable, at ₹300 for adults and ₹150 for kids and students with valid ID, though slightly higher for foreigners, likely around ₹500. Inside, the guide service impresses with bilingual guides fluent in Hindi and English. Personally, I found the Darbar and armory sections particularly fascinating, providing valuable insights into historical warfare tactics. The palace boasts numerous other attractions worth exploring, and its beauty is magnified under the night sky. Without a doubt, a visit to the City Palace comes highly recommended for a memorable and enlightening experience.

Gangori Bazaar, J.D.A. Market, Pink City, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302002, India
Jantar Mantar, located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, is an 18th-century astronomical observatory and UNESCO World Heritage site. It showcases the scientific and astronomical expertise of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II through a collection of large instruments designed to observe celestial phenomena with precision. The site features sundials, astronomical clocks, and measuring tools including the Samrat Yantra, the world's largest sundial.
One of the best old and rich science & engineering concepts I have ever visited. The items were manufactured with extreme precision. It clearly says the relationship between the position of sun and the time, really a beautiful place to visit with proper understanding. Do see some of the YouTube videos available on these concepts. You will also get a chance to see the video on the basic concepts from their office. A must visit place.

Jantar mantar is one of the most important and wonderful monument built by Raja Jai Singh II. There are total 5 Jantar Mantars in India- Jaipur, Delhi, Ujjain, Mathura and Varanasi. But today only functional one is at Jaipur and i have heard that the one in Mathura is demolished. The jantar mantar located in jaipur has 19 instruments.
The beauty of this monument is that you can find exact local time with the help of Sun. Hence it is sun based and would jot work during rainy season or in cloudy weather. Astrologically it is important as today also many astrologers visit to find the exact position of nakshatra. In older days this monument used to find local time and rashi and nakshatra of the new born, based on which the kundali was prepared. It even tells the in which sun sign the child is born and it has all 12 sun signs for further predictions. Hence those who follow sun signs, this place is master piece, as i mentioned earlier it is based on sun and it works during day time when sun is there.

From predicting horoscopes to studying constellations, the depth of knowledge on display was impressive. Despite the crowds on weekends, getting tickets for 50rs each, either at the counter or through UPI, was easy. The puppet doll show was a delightful addition to the experience. Hiring a local guide was a great decision, as they helped navigate through the noise and explained everything in detail. Overall, it was a memorable and enriching visit!

Beautiful design of sun dial / sun clock.
Combination of Art, math calculation and prediction of sun movement.
Nice, fun and full of knowledge. While sight seeing, we can see the historical ways to tells time with math and logic calculation.
Good place to bring your family and kids along as we can do both having holiday while learning about historical time.
Minus is that no public parking nearby, you have to find parking bit far from Jantar Mantar. Of more wisely to use tuktuk or taxi to come here.
If you visit at noon, consider to use your hat and sunglasses, as it is a bit hot.

This is a group of astrological instruments that mostly work on solar movement and the position of stars. You can see the gigantic creation and get yourself mesmerized with the level of accuracy and the maths that is involved.
There are a lot of yantra and each of them provides one or more data points, by combining them you can gather much more data about the movement of starts and time.
The big sundial was mind blowing, given the fact that it had ~2 second accuracy builds hundreds of years ago.
Don't miss this if you visit Jaipur. There is a video hall as well, where how each instrument works is explained in very simple language.

Jantar Mantar is one of the historical monuments in Jaipur (Rajasthan).
This is one of the five Jantar Mantar(s). This is still functional. This place is very well maintained. The added photo is the biggest sun dial, and the time depicted here is very close to the exact one (less than 10 seconds). The best time to visit is winter time (Dec - Feb) and during day light and clear sky. Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds, is a significant landmark in Jaipur. Built in 1799, this stunning palace was designed as a high screen wall made of pink and red sandstone with 953 jharokhas or windows. It allowed royal women to observe street festivities while maintaining their privacy due to the purdah system.
Hawa Mahal is one of the main attractions of Jaipur.
You can click pictures here from outside without giving any money or take a ticket for 50/-(Indian) and visit from inside as well.
The view from outside is different in the morning and evening.
I'll suggest something between 5-6 so, you can see both the views.

Hawa Mahal is the heart of Jaipur city.... Beautiful, symmetric and mesmerizing !!!
Are situated in the main city and is thus generally crowded, especially in the evening.
It has been a year since I visit at this palace. And I'm still in a hangover of this beautiful palace.
The entry fees is rupees 50 per head. And you are allowed cameras and mobile phones and all your bags with you. On entering the palace you see a beautiful fountain which is a good place for taking pictures as the palace will also be visible in the background.
Then you just have to climb and keep climbing the stairs tell you reach the top. From there you have the citi's aerial view. There are multi coloured glasses on the window covers that looks really beautiful. In the place is usually windy on the top.
A few things that I found amazing about this palace are mini windows on the gallery, the symmetry of the palace, colourful windows and the city view from the top.

Title: Mesmerizing Night View at Hawa Mahal, Jaipur
I recently had the opportunity to visit the iconic Hawa Mahal in Jaipur during the evening hours, and the experience was nothing short of enchanting. The stunning architecture of this historical monument comes alive under the magical glow of the night lights, creating a truly mesmerizing sight that left me in awe.
As I stood in front of the intricately designed facade of the Hawa Mahal, I couldn't help but marvel at the intricate lattice work and the countless windows that allowed the cool evening breeze to flow through. The play of light and shadow on the sandstone walls gave the structure a mystical aura that transported me back in time to the royal era of Rajasthan.
The lively atmosphere around the Hawa Mahal added to the charm of the visit, with street vendors selling local snacks and souvenirs, and crowds of visitors enjoying the beauty of the monument. A Majestic Marvel: Exploring the Grandeur of Hawa Mahal in Jaipur.
Hawa Mahal is a captivating masterpiece of architecture in Jaipur, where you can immerse yourself in history, capture beautiful photos, and experience the vibrant culture of the city. Its distinctive honeycomb-like facade adorned with intricate latticework is a visual delight. As the sun began its descent, the iconic structure, also known as the "Palace of Winds," seemed to come alive with a golden hue, casting a mesmerizing glow over the intricate honeycomb facade. Hawa Mahal is a must-visit. However, the traffic management around the area could be improved. Strolling through the bustling bazaars surrounding Hawa Mahal, the lively atmosphere and vibrant street life heightened the overall experience.

During my most recent trip to Jaipur, I was awestruck by the Hawa Mahal, which is a magnificent marvel that deserves to be admired. It is a testament to Jaipur's rich architectural tradition that this monumental edifice, which is sometimes referred to as the "Palace of Winds," was once built. Both the elaborate lattice work and the pink sandstone masonry are examples of a genuinely exceptional combination of engineering and artistic skill.
One can get a look into the royal past of Jaipur by visiting the Hawa Mahal, which is a popular tourist attraction. Not only does the one-of-a-kind design, which features a multitude of windows, serve as an architectural wonder, but it also offers a practical answer to the region's sweltering heat, enabling the royal ladies to view street festivities in a discrete manner.
The amenities at the Hawa Mahal are kept in good condition, and there are instructive plaques posted throughout the building that provide historical context and specifics about the landmark. The procedure for entering is easy, and the personnel is well-informed and willing to assist as needed. The panoramic views that can be seen from the upper levels are quite beautiful and provide a wonderful vantage point from which to take in the splendor of the city.
In close proximity to the Hawa Mahal is a lively shopping district that contributes to the region's overall allure. Shopping enthusiasts will find a veritable paradise in the bustling bazaars that surround the palace. These bazaars sell traditional Rajasthani handicrafts, textiles, and jewelry. Exploring the adjacent markets and participating in the culture of the area is a pleasant experience that one should not miss out on.
In conclusion, the Hawa Mahal is highly recommended as a site in Jaipur since it not only provides an insight into the royal history of the city but also provides an experience that is visually magnificent. The facilities, in conjunction with the shopping areas that are located nearby, make it a well-rounded excursion that offers the ideal combination of historical significance and the vitality of the local community.

Built in the 18th century by Sawai Madho Singh, it was originally intended as a summer resort for the royal family and guests. Jaipur, often referred to as the "Pink City" due to the distinct color of its historic buildings, is a city steeped in rich history and architectural splendor. Among the many landmarks that adorn this city, Jal Mahal stands out as a unique and captivating masterpiece. This review aims to delve into the intricate details, historical significance, architectural marvel, and overall experience of visiting Jal Mahal in Jaipur.
**Introduction:**
Jal Mahal, literally translated as the "Water Palace," is a breathtaking palace located in the midst of the Man Sagar Lake, just outside Jaipur. Its picturesque setting amidst the tranquil waters makes it a sight to behold and an essential stop for any traveler exploring the city. The palace is a five-story structure, with four levels submerged in the lake's waters during the monsoon season, giving the illusion of floating on the lake.
**Historical Significance:**
Built during the 18th century, during the reign of Maharaja Madho Singh I, Jal Mahal was intended to serve as a leisure retreat for the royal family and their entourage. The palace's location in the center of the lake allowed for privacy and exclusivity, creating an oasis of serenity amidst the bustling city.
**Architectural Marvel:**
Jal Mahal seamlessly blends elements of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles, resulting in a harmonious and captivating design. The palace's lower levels are made of red sandstone, a hallmark of Rajput architecture, while the upper floors exhibit delicate Mughal-style ornamental work. This unique fusion of styles showcases the cultural synthesis that was prevalent during that era.
**Design and Layout:**
The palace's design is a symphony of intricate details and thoughtful planning. The chhatris (domed pavilions) on the rooftop are adorned with lotus motifs and elegantly carved jali (lattice) screens, allowing for ventilation and a play of light and shadow. The chhatri on the central dome is particularly impressive, acting as the crown jewel of the palace's design.
**Natural Integration:**
What truly sets Jal Mahal apart is its remarkable integration with the natural environment. The palace seems to rise organically from the lake's waters, with its reflection creating a mesmerizing mirror image on the still surface. The surrounding Aravalli hills and the lush greenery further enhance the ethereal beauty of the scene.
**Conservation Efforts:**
Over the years, Jal Mahal faced significant challenges due to environmental degradation and neglect. The lake's pollution and the deterioration of the palace's structure raised concerns about its survival. However, conservation efforts have been initiated to restore the palace to its former glory. This includes cleaning the lake, restoring the architectural elements, and implementing measures to control pollution.
**Visitor Experience:**
Visiting Jal Mahal is a sensory delight. The journey to the palace involves a leisurely drive through the bustling city, followed by a tranquil boat ride on the lake to reach the palace. The view of the palace against the backdrop of the Aravalli hills during sunrise or sunset is a sight that leaves a lasting impression. The palace isn't open to the public for exploration inside, but its exterior beauty and the surrounding scenery offer ample opportunities for photography and contemplation.
**Cultural Significance:**
Jal Mahal stands as a testament to Jaipur's architectural prowess and cultural heritage. It embodies the opulence and refinement of the bygone era, offering a glimpse into the extravagant lifestyle of the royals. The palace's location also serves as a reminder of the Maharajas' connection with nature and their ability to create harmonious retreats within the urban landscape.
**Conclusion:**
In conclusion, Jal Mahal is more than just a palace; it's a living testament to the creative genius of the architects of its time. Its blend of architectural styles, integration with nature, and historical significance make it a jewel in Jaipur's crown. A visit to Jal Mahal is an immersive experience that transp

It is a very iconic place in Jaipur, the temple on the lake. It reminded me of Udaipur’s White Palace. There is a very nice promenade around the lake, very lively, that offers great photography opportunities of both the palace and the visitors.

Best time to visit this place is in the evening. One can not go near or enter this place as this Mahal is located in the middle of the Lake. There is place for the visitors on the bank of the Lake just beside the road to enjoy the view of this place. This can be planned during the visit to Amer fort as this is on the way. Probably a beautiful place of the evening to spend some time in your Jaipur visit.

The structure is beautiful to see, an ancient Palace in the middle of a water body! A must visit place and you have to take a pic here if you are in Jaipur. Besides looking at this structure, there is nothing much to do. You can feed the fishes, but I didn't even see one, maybe because it was mid summer day. Sadly no cafe to sit and enjoy the beauty of this place. Surroundings not very clean. It's on the way to Amer Fort so you won't miss it!

Just viewing this great architecture from Rajputs is a privilege not lot of Indians are aware of.
It is told to us that it's bottom two floors are submerged in water but it is still standing and was designed is such a fashion that it will last long. You can't go in there but go at evening time and with plenty of snacks available around you will have a good evening. Kulfi is rs30 but they try to overprice everyone. Go for Amul stall parked at road.

The Jal Mahal, or "Water Palace", is a five-story palace built in the middle of Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur, India. The palace is built entirely of red sandstone and is a combination of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. The palace is one of the most popular attractions in Jaipur.
The palace was originally intended to be a hunting lodge for the local king. However, in the 16th century, a severe drought caused the locals to build a dam, which created a lake that submerged the lower portions of the lodge. The palace's stone walls hold back millions of liters of water, and the specially designed lime mortar prevents water seepage into the palace. The palace's top floor is visible above the water, giving the impression that the palace is floating on the lake.
The palace was commissioned by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the early 18th century.

It is a great place to visit as it is a magnificent place and the palace is located in the centre of the lake which is unique on its own and you can enjoy the spectacular view of the Mahal with some snacks available over there like chana masala and other items which you can purchase from the local venders over there

The place looks absolutely serene sitting quietly in the middle of the lake. The architectural elegance is absolutely mesmerizing as the place seems to be floating on water. To get the best experience you should visit the place early in the morning or during twilight. Also, the best views would be when the sky is completely blue, because it will give a nice hue to the water. Also, it's a great place for bird watchers.
However, the water of the lake is extremely dirty as people feed fishes and birds, which is restricted by the government. Proper maintenance should be in place for such a beautiful historical monument.

The Lake Palace of Jaipur is an architectural marvel. Nestled in the middle of the lake it is no doubt a treat to watch from the shore. However, as a tourist we are not allowed to enter the building and the charm ends with a few clicks from the shore. Hopefully someday it is renovated enough for the tourist to enjoy its glamour from within through a short boat ride.
While visitors can admire the palace from a distance and enjoy its beauty, entry inside is restricted to maintain its preservation and conservation

It's a great place to visit in Jaipur. it is the oldest Museum of Rajasthan.
Named after king Albert Edward during his visit to Jaipur in 1880s.
Very unique collection of crafts, old coins, jewellery. It also had a mummy (2300yr old Egyptian) , so no need to go Egypt😅😅.
Jokes apart, it's a must visit place in Jaipur.
It took us around 2-3 hours to explore whole place.
Guides are also available. They seems to pretty useful in sharing the history of place.
Suggestion for Govt. They need to increase the lights in some areas in Museum. Looks dull. The good architecture of places sits behind the low lights.

Never miss this place if you are planning to visit Jaipur. This museum has lots to offer - from unique statues and pottery to carpets and mummy. The 'palace-like' building also looks extremely beautiful, especially at night. Entry fee is 52 per person.
However as a traveller, we had a really bad experience from the Jaipur police. Our rented two wheeler was impounded without any notice or reason and was asked to pay a hefty fine. Even though we parked our vehicle along with other parked vehicles, they just took ours, knowing that it's a rented one. There was no sign board or cops nearby to address the issue as well. We had to ask locals and walk several distances to find our vehicle.
Even then, their behaviour was rude and ruthless. It seems as if they have a problem with South Indians. It's such a shame to be treated like this from the Police as it will give a negative impression on anyone visiting there. Beware of such scam.🚨

Visited because it was on the combine ticket with Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort. Pleasantly surprised that this museum was just as interesting inside as it was from the outside. We enjoyed spending an hour here perusing their collection. We especially enjoyed the sculptures and tapestries of the Hindu deities as well as the pages from the ancient illustrative texts. It was relatively quiet until the school groups came through.

Worth a visit, the effort by Dr. Thomas Holbein Hendley is much appreciated and valued a fortune to understand the ancient culture, art work and weapon collection.

I noticed the crowd on the ground floor and chose to go on the first floor first. But after seeing the first floor, I realized I couldn't walk down anymore. I have to exit from the first floor.
I tried to go back into the lower area but security stopped me.
There should be a board at stairs so that tourists may easily explore them.

It is a peaceful place. You can go sit there have some alone time, do some meditation.

In a city that seems to be dipped from top to bottom in pink, the stark white marble Birla Mandir stands out—big time. The Hindu temple pays tribute to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and purity, and Vishnu, one of the religion's main deities.
The marvelous structure exudes a quiet, peaceful vibe, offering just the right atmosphere to appreciate fine marble carvings, shrines to gods, and gorgeous sunset views. While you don't need more than 30 minutes to get a sense of the space, the experience will prove to be a restorative break from a day of sightseeing.

The Birla Temple in Jaipur is an architectural marvel and an epitome of serenity. Visiting this magnificent temple was an experience that left me awe-inspired and spiritually rejuvenated. From the moment I stepped foot inside its premises, I was greeted by an ambiance of tranquility and devotion.
The temple's exterior is a sight to behold, with its stunning white marble facade that gleams in the sunlight. The intricate carvings and craftsmanship on the walls and pillars are nothing short of extraordinary, reflecting the rich heritage and cultural significance of Jaipur. As I walked around, every corner revealed a new artistic masterpiece, leaving me in complete admiration of the skilled artisans who created this splendid temple.
Inside, the sanctum sanctorum exudes an aura of divinity and inner peace. The idols of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are exquisitely adorned and radiate a captivating aura. The soothing chants and devotional hymns playing in the background further enhanced the spiritual experience, instilling a sense of calmness and reverence.
One of the aspects that sets Birla Temple apart is its emphasis on promoting unity and harmony. The temple not only showcases Hindu deities but also pays homage to other religious figures, such as Lord Buddha and Jesus Christ. This inclusivity is a testament to the temple's vision of fostering mutual respect and understanding among different faiths, making it a symbol of religious tolerance and unity.
The sprawling garden surrounding the temple adds to the charm of the place. Lush green lawns, beautifully manicured flower beds, and fountains create a peaceful ambiance, providing a perfect spot for meditation and contemplation. The temple complex also houses a museum that exhibits various religious artifacts and displays the philanthropic work carried out by the Birla family.
The temple's location offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, especially during sunset. Watching the sun dip below the horizon while being enveloped in the divine aura of the temple was an experience that will forever remain etched in my memory.
The Birla Temple in Jaipur is not just a place of worship but a testament to the splendor of architecture, the power of spirituality, and the unity of diverse beliefs. Whether you seek solace, admire artistry, or wish to immerse yourself in a truly spiritual atmosphere, this temple is an absolute must-visit. It is an oasis of tranquility amidst the bustling city, leaving visitors with a profound sense of peace and fulfillment.
I wholeheartedly recommend visiting the Birla Temple Jaipur for a truly enriching and enlightening experience.

One of the finest temples in the country. So charismatic!! The vibe of it is something else. But I would request everyone not to take photographs inside the temple as it's not allowed but I have seen many doing it. So if rules are followed then it would be really good for all of us. The pictures I have posted is taken outside.

It is a nice and beautiful place to visit.
It's Hindu temple situated in the middle of Jaipur city.
Near the Railway station and bus stop.
Almost all tourists start their day from this temple by taking blessings from the god.
It's open at 9:00am and then you can start tours to another place.
It is very beautiful like other birla temples at 9:00 am you can include in the worship of the Lord.
I was very happy when I saw the foreigner also pray till the prayer ends and I hope they all feel blessed and filled with positive energy.
All the foreigners were in deep meditation which I especially liked.
I hope they will visit this place again for sure.

Birla Mandir in Jaipur is a temple that is mesmerizing because it combines architectural beauty, spiritual devotion, and peaceful surroundings. The sky is reflected in the exquisite white marble structure. Creating a sense of serenity is achieved by the tranquil ambiance and beautifully adorned idols inside.
The temple's location on a hilltop provides stunning views of Jaipur. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. With intricate carvings and peaceful surroundings, it offers a serene and spiritual experience.

During our college trip from Mumbai to Rajasthan, we made a stop at the magnificent Birla Temple in Jaipur on December 25th, Christmas evening, around 8:30 pm. Despite the rush to receive blessings and catch a glimpse of the deity before the temple closed, we marveled at its stunning white facade and immense size. Although we only saw it at night, it's advisable to visit during the day to fully appreciate its beauty. The intricate idols within captivated us, and we ascended a few stairs to reach the temple's pinnacle, where we glimpsed a nearby fort. Surrounding the entrance, shops offered a variety of gifts and temple-related items. Overall, it was a delightful visit and a must-see destination for anyone touring Jaipur.
There was parking too near the temple.

A very nice temple located near Jaipur Development Authority building.
Very beautiful temple. It has great architecture with beautiful idol.
Please don’t click photos inside temple premises. Security will snatch your phone.
Temple is heavily crowded throughout the day. I would recommend to before 10AM which will save you from tourist crowd.
Parking charge - ₹20.
Very congested parking. Parking problem increase due to large number of tourist vehicles parking incorrectly.

Birla mandir is mandir of god Ram. Surrounding is leashed with grass . Surrounding is clean and neat. One has to remove the shoes outside the temple and keep it at the entrance. I was extremely lucky to get the Arti . The atmosphere is ofcourse very spiritual. While visiting forts birla mandir is on the way so it will take hardly 15 min for darshan and start your day with blessings for your beautiful Jaipur trip

Monkey temple of jaipur
Tourist place and picture worthy place
View is amazing and greenery all over around
Tanvi Tiwari — Google review
Temple was probably nice some years back, but now full of dirt and rubbish. Monkeys were outside of the temple and almost none inside. At this moment I cannot recommend this place.
Ingo Klever — Google review
The place is very beautiful and quiet. The old buildings are renovated but still there is a scope for cleanliness. The water in the pond is clear but the around area is not that cleaned. Children take bath in it and people wash their clothes.
The temple uphill is the oldest temple of Lord Hanuman. Many people come to this temple often. And there are other temples also.
There is some trekking area also uphill side.
purnima singh — Google review
I would not recommend going there. The buildings itself are amazing, and the site could be really beautiful, but it was honestly one of the dirtiest places I've seen. Even the slum in Mumbai seemed to be taken care of more than here. Sure, monkeys produce food waste, but literally nobody is taking care of that area, instead they charge a lot of money for walking through rubbish. And you have to pay extra to take your phone, which is ridiculous because where else would I put it?!
There are plenty of other beautiful places you can go when in Jaipur.
Also, the tuktuk drivers there are a rip-off as well. They charge a lot more than when coming to that place and if this isn't enough, when they drop you off, they try the "the rate was per person, you need to pay double". My advice, pay what you agreed on in the first place, pay it when you are outside of the tuktuk and firmly walk away. Disgusting behavior.
Maren Pauli — Google review
Very peaceful place. Old sculptures were well preserved. Great to visit and to know about the history. Government should invest to keep the place running. The roads to get there need rebuilding. Other than that, a pleasant experience.

Beautiful place. The walk is quite long so make sure to wear proper shoes, lots of monkeys, some of them are aggressive. I’d recommend hiring a tour guide if you plan to feed them.
Manuela Gomez — Google review
This was one of my favorite sights in Jaipur!
We came early in the morning at sunrise and it was a magical experience. We were the only tourists and it was a magnificent sight. The sunrise was beautiful and the swarm of monkeys that suddenly came was cool. The monkeys were adorable and very playful. I can recommend this place to anyone that want a great experience!
The cost is 50 INR for each camera you bring. Same price for foreigners as for locals.
Word of warning: The locals will try to get you into their shrines there is scattered around and then pressure you for money.
Martin W J?rgensen — Google review
The one you want to see is the galta ji temple. This one is nothing. Also it gets really dirty here and the locals do not maintain the actual temples. But you will see an abudance of monkeys and can even feed them
Jaskarn Bains — Google review
Even though the location is quite spectacular, and there truly are hundreds of monkeys, the place did not convince me because it was poorly maintained and dirty. Be ready to give donations on several places there, since there are many temples inside. Also, the main building was closed since start of covid.
Anja Cehnar — Google review
It's best if you visit it at sunset. The city will be in front of you. Amazing scenery
Seyed Hassan Saghebi — Google review
The temple is a gorgeously located near a hilly area and hence there is no access to the main shrine. You will find monkeys lingering around in enormous numbers. A wonderful experience is ensured. It seems difficult to get a cab here. Hence it is recommended to take necessary precautions. The premises were not very clean during my visit.
Anjusree Krishnan — Google review
Architecturally the temple complex itself is stunning and set in picturesque hills. Unfortunately they have got a bit of a scam going on to charge foreigners, and try to short change them, then once inside continually harass you for donations. Pick one funding model and go with it, either it’s ticketed entry or donation, but you can’t do both! I’m not sure where the money is actually going, since there is trash everywhere and no preservation / restoration works seem to have ever been attempted.
Jamie Hunt — Google review
Disgusting mess. Absolute disgrace and rip off to charge tourists to see the filthy litter everywhere. Couldn't bare to stay longer than 5 minutes before leaving. Be better, management.
Richard Duffy — Google review
Amazing geography and architecture, the temple is set in between the mountains. Vibe is immaculate - people singing and playing music and swimming in the holy water.
Great place to see and feed monkeys (they're Macaques). Paid entry and you can get a guide. It was also very cool here as the breeze flows between the mountains.
Note that the monkeys are given so many bananas that they sometimes won't eat them. Our guide used salty chips, which the monkeys loved.
Narender Kumar — Google review
Unfortunately would not recommend. While it was lovely to see all of the monkeys roaming around, for a popular tourist attraction the temple was not well looked after and there was trash everywhere, arguably the most littered temple I’ve been to so far in India. Quite sad to see all of the monkeys and other animals eating the rubbish that was in the river, which ruined the entire experience. The people that work here are only there to get your money, they commented that the rubbish situation was awful but had no incentive to clear up. There were no bins anywhere either, which would have significantly helped. There is an additional charge to take pictures, which costs more than the entrance ticket and is an outright scam!. Hope someone with authority sees this comment and decides to take action. Very disappointing.
Alicia Wainhouse — Google review
Off the beaten track and hence almost no tourists. If you want to have monkeys eating out of your hand take a packet of crisps (they like salt and vinegar). It costs extra to take a camera or phone in so leave any others in the car.

Fort Madhogarh
Resort hotel
Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
Airy quarters in a laid-back hotel offering a restaurant & a terrace, plus countryside views.
We visited Fort Madogarh during winter and had a very comfortable stay. The staff are wonderful and our room was an absolute delight. What other reviewers say is true, there were blackouts, but personally the experience we had here was significantly better than several 3 and 4 star hotels in the bigger cities and the people working here made it a delight. I was able to live out a dream of staying in a castle and while some other places we stayed were more fully renovated, they didn't have the spectacular views and the smiling staff. We visited with intrepid and for me this was the absolute highlight of our trip.
Aaron Leyshon — Google review
A building of great character and interest, BUT the staff mostly had an extremely 'can't be bothered' attitude, the plumbing was very poor. The beer was served warm until we complained, the buffet dinner was average but the breakfast was very poor compared with all other Indian hotels we have stayed in.
A dog in the hotel yard barked hourly and kept many of us awake.
It could be so much better given good management and better staff.
Stephen — Google review
Please note only people who book rooms for stay are allowed inside. Visitors those who want to explore the fort from inside, even if ready to pay entry fee, or eat something inside as it is a resort is not possible. We even requested over phone as we went from Jaipur to visit the fort, however our request was declined. The fort has been converted and not restored.
Anurag Sharma — Google review
Oh no. I didn't have a great time here, mostly because there were a lot of bugs in the room.
The fort is fun to explore, definitely a playground. The history is amazing, the views are impressive. And the staff is so kind that I hate to leave a sad review.
No AC, weak wifi (only in common area), no hot water -- not problems. So many bugs (particularly spiders) in the room is a problem for me.
I stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour, and it was by far my least favorite moment. Others in my tour group said it was their favorite stay of the trip, so I think it really depends on which room you get.

Mixed Feelings at Fort Madhogarh - Beautiful Views but Lacking Comfort
Fort Madhogarh, located near Jaipur, is an exceptionally beautiful place with stunning views that left a lasting impression on me. However, my overall experience was somewhat dampened by the lack of comfort in the accommodations.
Being aware that there was no air conditioning, I was prepared to rely on the provided desert cooler. Unfortunately, the cooler was not functioning properly during my stay, and this significantly impacted my ability to get a good night's sleep. The staff did fix the cooler the following morning, but it was too late for me to benefit from it.
In addition to the cooler issue, the beds were quite small and uncomfortable for a person of my height (6 feet). I also had to request that the staff replace the sheets on the bed, which was not an ideal experience.
On the positive side, the staff member who attended to us was kind and accommodating. However, it was apparent that the hotel was understaffed, with only one person responsible for most of the work.
As for the food, I was disappointed to find out that the meals were brought in from outside and not freshly prepared on the premises. The reheated chapatis lacked freshness and taste. Additionally, the electricity was unstable during our stay, with several interruptions over the course of the night.
While the beauty and views of Fort Madhogarh are undeniable, the overall experience did not meet my expectations. The lack of comfort and basic amenities, coupled with the malfunctioning cooler, left me feeling unsatisfied. If you plan on staying here, be prepared to make some compromises for the sake of the stunning location.

I stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour and didn't have a great experience unfortunately. During the less than 24 hours I spent at the Fort, we experienced 6 blackouts, no water supply in most rooms and definitely no air conditioning. The rooms were dangerously warm at night with no relief. I ended up having to sleep on a couch in the central lobby area, as it was a bit cooler. Not to mention the infestation of ants, silverfish, beetles and mosquitos.
Would not recommend anyone stay here.

The Ranthambore School Of Art Society showcases impressive artwork that mostly features nature and animals, with a particular emphasis on tigers. The paintings depict the beauty of life in vivid detail, and the artists are truly talented. It is an amazing art school worth visiting for those who appreciate such works of art.
Sure shot way of tiger sighting in Ranthambore.
No guessing for what is Ranthambore all about. Yes – tigers. This time we saw tigers of a different variety. Not in the jungle, but on canvas, dexterously hand painted by the students of the Ranthambore School of Art.
Ranthambore School of Art is an art school, exhibition and gallery all in a small single story house. This is off Sawai Madhopur on Ranthambore Road. While we had heard about this place, given the very little publicity they do, locals were not very aware of this place. It was per chance, while driving on the Ranthambore Road, we came across a modest signage which led to this institution of the truest sense. We walked in and saw painters sitting in front of large canvasses with menacing big cats looking back at them. It is a totally different issue that these tigers were brought to existence by these artists who were blessed with photographic precision. One could identify single strands of hair in some of these paintings.
Ranthambore School of Art is more than 20 years old. During our visit, we met Mr. Ram Sahay who is one of the founder members of this organisation. He was extremely forthcoming and shared interesting details. As with everything Ranthambore, the artwork here was geared towards wildlife. In fact, the institution was established with the aim to protect tigers. Students come here to learn as well as senior artists sit here and create paintings some of which are on sale. They showed us huge canvasses as well as small painted postcards. Given the life-like paintings, it was difficult to believe that these were results of a wood and hair brush and not any digital medium. In addition to tigers, birds and other wildlife, the artists also paint diverse subjects. We loved the painting of Jesus in all his compassionate glory. Incidentally, there was no effort on part of the art school to make a sale. This made us very comfortable.
In addition to painting, the artists from here routinely hold workshops in schools, museum and nearby villages to create awareness about the tiger.
While jungle safari is the primary activity, a visit to the Ranthambore School of Art is an offbeat activity in Ranthambore. One doesn’t need to be art aficionado to appreciate the sincere work here. We believe a good piece of work has a universal language, it breaks boundaries. Ranthambore School of Art does just that are we are humbled to have an opportunity of witnessing this first hand.

Tiger/wildlife art is present all over the place in Ranthambore but what sets this place apart is you get to interact with the artists and interns that are actually in charge of creating the art. Also they seem to use sturdier canvas than what was on display in most other places. The charm of hearing the stories behind each painting adds a personal touch that was missing in other exhibits in Ranthambore. Also this is an NGO. We bought two pieces. Highly recommended.

Please note this place can also ship and send u the canvas u desire and takes orders for paintings of animals and accept online payment too, all definitely worth any amount of money... Now for the review of the place...
A small space.. but so full of soul. For people coming to connect with nature here.. and with animals... This place provides u portraits that allow u to peer into the lives and souls of these animals... Like a photo but so much more it appears...
Probably because of all the work that goes into recreating a photo. But that effort in the viewers mind translates to a emotional bond with those animals.
Lovely people too and overall a very wholesome experience from the most unexpected of places.

A great spot to visit for handmade goods. A group of families work together to make the items sold in the store. When we visited a group of women were working on all different sewing projects outside. There are three indoor spaces that have paintings, rugs and fabric goods. The selection is impressive and the quality is impressive. The buying process felt supported but not pressured. They pulled things out to look at and held things for us to decide about until we had visited all three areas. The packaged things up very well and are able to ship them home if you don’t want to carry them back. Great spot for shopping in Ranthambore.

Jogi Mahal is referred to as one of the places in Rajasthan where tigers used to rule. This is because of its close proximity to the hub of tigers - Ranthambore National Park. The Mahal is located at a distance of 500 meters from the Ranthambore Fort. It is considered as one of the oldest heritage buildings in exanse of Ranthambore. The Mahal made its way as a hunting resort for the royal families. The royal family used to spend some time at the Jogi Mahal in the course of their hunting expedition to the nearby forests of Ranthambore.
Despite being a hunting abode in the middle of the forests, it had still been designed with the classic Indian style of architecture. The Mahal gets intricate design elements and architecture will surely be amazing for the visitors. It is adorned by a picturesque surrounding of the second largest banyan tree in India and a pristine lake.
At the present times, tourists choose to spend some in this Mahal to take a rest in the middle of their Ranthambore tour. The availability of food and water at this place makes it more favorable for tourists and spending some time in this place will certainly rejuvenate your souls as it did for the royal families for ages. The Mahal serves as a testimony to the amazing age-old traditions of the royal family of Rajasthan as it stands as a reflection of Rajasthani architecture and intricate designs.

The sad part was absolute lack of maintenance and upkeep of the fort. Too much litter all around, too much damage by visitors evident on the walls.

Trinetra Ganesha Temple is a unique temple as pointed by other reviewers. Another interesting fact is that the people in the region also send the first wedding invitation to Ganesh ji in this temple.
How to reach: it is situated atop Ranthambore fort at a distance of around 6-7 km from the main town. The entry point is through the national park and then there is approximately 15 minutes of drive. The narrow road is made of stones so the ride is going to bumpy and you have to be very careful while going up. After the ride, you'll have to hike for another 15 minutes to reach the temple. There is a parking lot at the base of the fort.
A local committee charges 20 rupees for vehicles.
Hike and the fort: 15 minutes of easy hike majority of which includes the walk on the stairs. There are many temple inside the fort including Annapurna temple, Kalika ma temple, Sita Ram temple and a Jain temple. You get beautiful view of the forest and the lake from the fort.
Timings: I visited the temple on 3rd October 2022 at around 1PM and it was scorching hot. So I would recommend people going there in the morning, the temple remains open from 06:00 Am to 04:00 PM.
Trinetra Ganesha Temple: the temple was divine and the murtis of Ganesha ji and family were marvellous. There are a few shops near the temple and you can buy water, sweets and snacks. However, the temple administration should focus on maintaining the cleanliness.

Visited Ganesh ji temple in June 2023. To visit this temple you will need to go from Ranthambore fort. It requires at least two hours to visit with family. You will find many photo shoot locations while visiting this temple. Ganesh ji is seated in this temple with Devi ridhi and Sidhi and his sons. Avoid going to this temple on Wednesday and Ganesh chaturthi as these days there is a huge rush. You can also visit nearby Kalika temple, Shri laxminarayan temple etc. I would surely recommend this place while visiting ranthambore. Photography and videography is strictly prohibited 🚫 inside temple.

A Divine Trek with Majestic Views. I recently had the privilege of visiting the Lord Ganesh Temple nestled atop an ancient fort, and the experience was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The Lord Ganesh Temple atop the ancient fort is a hidden gem that marries spirituality with nature's splendor. The invigorating trek to the summit rewards you with both a sense of devotion and breathtaking vistas of the encompassing mountains. A truly divine experience amidst nature's embrace.

Ganesh temple located at the top of a hill inside the world heritage Ranthambore fort
There are many steps to the temple along the fort, so though the journey is scenic, it can be challenging for elderly. Also, you can get a guide as there are many of them offering their services.
The place is surrounded by beautiful scenery overlooking the Ranthambore tiger reserve and mountains and valleys.
The temple is simple and modest. You'll find ample of small shops, cafes and sellers of offerings and garlands as is the norm outside all Indian temples.
Beware of the monkeys though as they can be pretty aggressive at times

Ganesh temple was good. You gotta climb a few fort stairs to reach there. The disappointing thing was that people have littered there a lot and scribbled the historic walls. Imposing charges on entries and banning plastic will make it even more amazing. I will highly recommend to visit the fort as well as the temple.

Trinetra Ganesh Temple in Ranthambore fort is a remarkable place that holds a fascinating history. This temple, which is approximately 724 years old, houses a unique Ganesha statue that isn't man-made but a natural creation that emerged from the rock itself. The sight of this ancient statue is awe-inspiring and instills a sense of divine connection.
Legend has it that Lord Ganesha revealed himself to a sage who meditated at this very spot, thus giving birth to the Trinetra Ganesh Temple. Over the centuries, the temple has become a sacred destination for devotees seeking blessings and fulfilling their heartfelt wishes.
However, visitors are advised not to trek during peak hours of the daytime, especially in summer, due to scorching temperatures. It's essential to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions to avoid any health issues during the journey. Make sure to reach temple before 4 pm as there is no entry after 4pm.
When planning your visit, make sure to carry enough cash, as the temple's location might result in no network coverage, and online transactions are not possible once you reach the temple premises.
In conclusion, Trinetra Ganesh Temple in Ranthambore is a place of spiritual significance with a mesmerizing natural Ganesha statue that leaves a lasting impression on its visitors. Devotees are sure to find solace and fulfillment in their prayers if offered with a pure heart and sincerity. A visit to this sacred site is a unique and spiritually enriching experience, but proper planning and timing are essential to make the most of the journey.

The tiger reserve in Ranthambore has over 80 tigers currently residing along with jackals , mongoose , crocodiles , bears , deer and hyenas. The place has lush greenery and a beautiful atmosphere. The place is serene and there is a 70% chance of spotting a tiger. Though it's recommended to visit any zone from 1 to 5 but preferably go to zone 2 as it has many watering holes thus there are higher chances of finding a tiger. We found six tigers on day 1 and three tigers in day 2 both in zone 2. The tigers are majestic creatures and the national animal of India. I advise you to please maintain the decorum in the reserve and don't scare the animals. You can go to the reserve via gypsy or canter. It is beneficial if you ride a canter. Rest assured you will love the experience. Enjoy the nature retreat.

Please know before you go that there is no guarantee you will see tigers! They say that you should book multiple tours to increase your chances. With that said, I was lucky when I went that we saw two tigers during their mating session. Otherwise I probably would not have rated it 4 stars. Other than the two tigers, there really wasn’t too much other wildlife in the park. It was actually quite barren.

Apart from the tigers we spotted a lot of other varieties of animals and birds as well.

The best time to visit for tiger sighting is before monsoon as most zones are closed after, make sure to book in advance, and wear neutral colors on safari. Better experience with gypsy than canter. First of all, Tiger is the main Attraction here and you have to be clear that seeing a Tiger is purely just LUCK !
Advance booking is highly recommended as the offline booking counters are not efficient and systematic
The reserve forest is of 10 different zones and have two shifts for safari rides
Either it's a canter or gypsy, seeing tiger is not guaranteed. You will be provided with a guide and driver
But still you can explore the other animals like deers, peacock, snake and experience the ride through the woods
Don't keep your expectations high for the tiger

Go with family and friends and enjoy the jungle time. Nice hotels there to stay. I am unable to recall my resort but I will check and update it later. Avoid going in luxury car as most of the terrain is rough. My resort is recommended as food was awesome, it had pool and not far from places.
Go for safari and in the same day see the museum as well as pick up is near museum. Book well in advance and ask your hotel to book. It was about 110-1300 per person. Take water bottle and some snacks along.
Go and enjoy. Don't go in peak summer or rainy season. You will be in open vehicle for 1-3 hours so wear your shades and sunscreen as well 😁👍🏼.

Stunning national park with beautiful views at sunrise. Mixture of grassland, woodland and desert rock. Visited three times for a "tiger safari" which mainly consisted of deer and monkeys. Love that 80% of the park is not visited by humans and hopefully this means that the tigers in the area are well protected. They remained elusive throughout this trip although signs of then were seen and heard. Lovely experience but my advice would be don't expect to see any tigers!

Incredible place, beautiful wildlife and environment. The drivers and guides were helpful at times and tried hard to help find tigers. Something to keep in mind is that sightings are rare and lucky, we did 7 safaris and were fortunate to see 1 tiger. Would highly recommend it!

One of the best Tiger Reserves in India is located here, it’s a 1700square km forested area. I was told only 20% of the area is open for public to do safaris. All in there are 10 different gates for safari. One can choose which gates the one to go. Chances of seeing the Majestic Bengal Tiger is quite high here, again depending on your luck and other factors.
There are two types of vehicles going into the park for Safari the canter and 4WD jeeps.
Breathtaking scenery awaits you with many wildlife to be seen very close to the tracks.
This place will give you a great unforgettable safari experience.
Most guides are well experienced and will give you great insight about the park and the tigers u see.
About 80 Bengal Tigers roam this forest.

This National Park serves as a sanctuary for various species of fauna and flora. It's notable for Tigers of which there are 80+ in the park at the time of this review. It's also a rare grey forest area where visibility is easily 1-2km this making it the most ideal National Park to sight tigers among other animals. Definitely worth visiting and enjoying the safari. Safaris are by zones and you may or may not be lucky to sight a tiger in your zone. Nonetheless the safari experience itself is worth it. Note though that the best time to visit is in the summer (June-July). If you do the winter safari make sure to layer up as the wind chill effect really brings the cold in.

Had two great safari drives in Ranthambore. On the first we saw Samba Deer, Crocodiles and a Jungle Cat.
On the second drive, we had seen the above again but little else. In the last 30 minutes, we saw a leopard, sloth bear and then the Royal Bengal Tiger. Completely excited truck full of happy people.
Only minor negatives being lack of commentary from safari guide and definite language barrier
Overall, Was an amazing day in a beautiful setting

Never been on a tiger reserve safari ride before, the park was nice as it’s a natural setting with a lake inside but didn’t have the “wow” scenic factor. We were the only group that spotted the tiger nicknamed “Challenger”, he was a beauty! There were peacocks, deers, monkeys, bats, alligators and other small animals. However an unexpected highlight of the day was a flock of super friendly birds flying around us. Btw.. there is public toilets inside the park in case “nature calls”..

We did four Safaris but were lucky to see the big cat in Zone 2 only. But it was as thrilling as it can get. Also saw leopard in same zone. Prefer zone 1 to 5 for better chances. Avoid zone 7, 8 and 9 as Tiger spotting here is much less. Our guide told is that chances of spotting the Tiger in summer, May & June, are much brighter as the animals come to water holes.
