Springfields Outlet Shopping & Leisure is a picturesque village-style shopping center that offers numerous high-street brands at discounted prices, making it an attractive destination for bargain hunters. In addition to shopping, visitors can also enjoy dining options such as coffee shops and restaurants on the premises. The complex has well-maintained gardens, both indoor and outdoor toilet facilities, and even a fun park for children.
Had heard of Springfields but have never been in. Easy to navigate to, tried to find a disabled parking bay but as the place was so busy I couldn’t find one. Really cheap car parking charge as well. Lots of discount stores so will definitely be returning for birthdays/Christmas shopping. Ladies toilets were clean but the one hand dryer wasn’t working. All in all I will recommend this outlet to others.

Springfields Shopping Outlet. Beautiful gardens to stroll around. Toilet facilities indoor & out. Plenty of bargain's to be had. Restaurants & Coffee shops on site. There is also a Fun Park for the children. The whole site is beautifully kept to high spec. Beautiful all year round.Well worth a visit. Keep up to the good work. 🙂❤️

Nice flowers and cute fairy motif decorations 🧙. Decorations/flowers every time (according to the seasons) different 😍.
Quiet and beautiful place.
Have a nice walk with a cup of coffee.

This is always a very nice place to visit . Easy parking even for disabled usually plenty of wheelchair space. M&S having a good sale
Geoffrey Willerton — Google review
Was very busy but well worth it. Has decent amount of shops, couple coffee shops, only one restaurant on site to eat. Has Travelodge on site where we stayed, so if you are shopped out you can stay there for £30 a night.
So overall good experience. We went to M&S and Next and found so many discounts that we ended up buying loads of stuff 😁
And parking there is only £2 overnight.

Depending on the time of year, the gardens here are well worth a visit. This review is based on a visit during the last week of April with the tulips in full bloom! It was absolutely stunning and an absolute joy to walk around. The outlet itself has a very good selection of shops and a new updated Skechers store which is excellent! **Make sure you join the Springfield VIP and get 10% off in that store, amongst others**
But as my photos show this time of year its 100% worth a visit for the gardens alone... Top job 👍 highly recommended.
Dave London — Google review
Only giving this 3 stars as a shopping outlet, very limited shops all very pricey. The food drink establishments are extortionate in price. Disabled parking is v poor considering most visitors were elderly on my visit.
The positive was the gardens and walks with well kept borders and fountains are fabulous. Take a picnic and sit in gardens. Don't bother with shops 😊
Really not worth a visit won't be going back
John Brewer — Google review
I have been visiting and observing the venue for past 13 years, it changed and evolved. From my perspective for good. Lots of room for everyone, shops, flowers and so on...
Good place to get your youngest ones for a walk but not only, there are few activities addressed just for them. I hope no one would say they regret visiting Springfields.
Andrzej Papiewski (Daemonum) — Google review
Shopping outlet village with garden attached. Food in the Hosery is excellent. Probably the best snack meal I have had ( 3 egg omelette, cheese bacon and sun dried tomatoes) . Polite helpful staff.

Lovely little shopping complex. Good parking, easy to get too.

Lots of brands in one place. Good facilities. We had tea and cake in the restaurant very nice but a bit on the pricey side. As it was raining we didn't walk round the gardens. Which we have done in the past at this time of year to see the beautiful daffodils narcissus and tulips.

Later night opening hours for Christmas and the winter lights trail was fabulous. Lots of choice of shops, free parking for the event and all so beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Emmzy84 — Google review
I'm a shopperholic and I love my designer outlets!
This one, however, is probably one of the worst, being the smallest one I've ever visited with very little interesting shops for my personal experience.
One of the restaurants on site (can't remember name) did really good cake but they aren't cheap prices. Beautiful little venue though.
As I say shops aren't to my taste and we spent less than an hour here. Can't believe you have to pay for parking too, don't get this at many of the outlets across the country.
More than likely won't return

Peckover House and Garden is an impressive museum of Georgian architecture, showcasing a variety of curiosities across its lush 2-acre garden. It is managed by the National Trust and requires advanced booking for tours. While there is no parking available at the house itself, free parking can be found nearby. The property's volunteers are knowledgeable, friendly and informative guides who make visits incredibly interesting. Visitors have also discovered fascinating information about the house through independent research.
Lovely little National Trust in the heart of Wisbech, right on the bank of the river. It's a little hidden so there are not too many visitors on an average day, therefore it's very enjoyable, peaceful and quiet.
The garden is very pretty and very-well maintained. There are plenty of benches and seats around the territory of the park, and there's also a croquet field which can be so much fun both with friends and family.
I can recommend. Well-worth the visit.

We enjoyed this National Trust property. No parking at the actual house, but free parking just across the bridge. Absolutely beautiful gardens. The tour has to be booked in advance. Now .. these volunteer are superb, they are knowledgeable and friendly, and informative, absolute credit to all of them, and thanks. Some make these tours incredibly interesting, so we still valued our guide, but found ourselves doing more research on this property after our visit ... there was so much we discovered, which didn't quite make it on the tour ... but still very interesting to look round this house.
Polly Wainwright — Google review
What a beautiful old house this is, all the guides were really friendly and knowledgeable too. Shame the weather was a bit wet today as on a sunny day the garden would be beautiful. It’s national trust property but I believe the garden and cafe are free to enter for all, you’d just need to pay to enter the house if you’re a non member

Loved our visit to Peckover and would definitely recommend.
We followed the instructions on the National Trust site and parked free in a large car park around the corner from the house.
After a short walk around Wisbech, we went to the house for our guided tour. David (our guide) was lovely and very informative. We got to visit more or less every room. The library is a very impressive addition to the house with a lovely chandelier. Make sure you go down to visit the kitchen as I always find old kitchens fascinating. The stairs down are quite narrow and steep so you would need to be careful.
Having a guide was great and far better than having to read lots of information.
Definitely worth a visit. We did need to pre-book but please do not let that put you off.

Despite having lived in the Peterborough area since 1983 and going to or through Wisbech many times, I've never made the effort to visit Peckover House! We finally decided to go, and we weren't disappointed. The guided tour lasted roughly one hour, and the guide provided a wealth of fascinating detail about the history of the house and the people who lived there. Although quite a large townhouse, it is modest in some senses - at least in comparison with most of the stately homes we have visited. As the guide said, there's a mix of different styles of furniture and accessories, but this is because the furniture was auctioned off at some point in the past. The grounds are surprisingly big, covering 2 acres of land in the heart of Wisbech! There's a cafe (unfortunately closed at the time of our visit) with toilets (and more toilets in the basement level), a large greenhouse and an orangery. The flowerbeds were packed with beautiful flowers and an impressive collection of unusual mature trees towered over the gardens.
It's an oasis in the heart of a bustling town and I'd love to go back to visit sometime.

Visited garden only end May, as a stop travelling south. Approx 2 acres well laid out garden with mature trees and shrubs. Small orangery and greenhouse / frames with a good selection of succulents.
Seating in various places. A couple of ponds Worth a visit. Some roses were in flower. Small bookshop and plant sales area and toilets.
No cafe but location is on the edge of town or take a picnic.
Free public parking is available, 5 mins walk from house a rare thing these days.

Absolutely fabulous place to visit, stunning house and garden. The tour guides where wonderful and extremely good with my inquisitive daughter and her many questions. Highly recommend for a lovely day out for adults and kids alike. Don't forget to visit the cafe for yummy brownies, the bookshop for excellent value second hand books and of course the plants section where you can grab a bargain. We enjoyed taking home a lovely fern plant for only £5

It was the first ever NT place where I was treated like a long missing and dearly loved member of family.
Beautiful gardens, excellent tour of the house, lovely tearoom, and wrap of care, which means much more than any gardens in the world.
Thank you for welcoming me with my bike, empty charger, and booking me into the house tour at the last minute.
My visit is one of the most memorable this year and I am sure it will be for years to come.

You need to buy tickets in advance to see inside the house, as they are timed guided tours. This was a first for our family, who are avid National Trust visitors.
The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and amusing. Sharing what felt like family secrets and insider information. We were there with our 9 year old. She was engaged throughout and loved the top floor.
The gardens were absolutely gorgeous and kept in a fabulous condition. There was croquet on the lawn, lovely fountains, and happy gardener volunteers who shared more knowledge.
So much history about Wisbech and the Peckovers and their family. What a great visit.

Historic house and gardens. Superb gardens with a wide range of interesting plants, beautifully kept by the staff and volunteers. Such a surprising garden for a house in the middle of a town.
The house tour brought the history of the house to life. We really enjoyed hearing about the family and their life and times in Wisbech and across the country.
A really good visit, thank you 😎👍👍👍

This was our first visit to Peckover House and it was a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The gardens are beautifully kept and cover about 2 acres, so it's not massive but enough for a gentle stroll. There isn't a gift shop or a cafe on-site but we were told that there are cafes nearby that we could use and even bring the food back into the grounds if we so wished. The House can only be viewed on timed guided tours that you have to book before your visit (this also applies to National Trust members). There is a limit of 20 people per tour so make sure you book in advance. There is a wealth of history in the house and our tour guide was excellent and very informative.
There is no parking onsite, but you can park for free at the car park on Chapel Road which is about 270 yards from Peckover House. The toilets are clean and there are baby changing facilities too if you need them.
It wasn't busy when we visited, despite it being a Saturday but I have no idea how busy it gets during school holidays.
A very relaxed way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Lovely intimate National Trust property who comes alive thanks to the enthusiasm of the staff and volunteers.
A wonder calm oasis of a garden, broken down into different areas.
The town house was built in 1722 and the Quaker banker Jonathan Peckover moved into the house in 1794. Bank House, as it was known, remained in the Peckover family for the next 150 years.
Really enjoyed the visit and learning about the Peckover family.
Jo G — Google review
Sadly only pre-booked tours of the house. I prefer to wander and ask questions if I need to. And although the Cafe is open, it is sparse in comparison to how it used to be. Perhaps it needs a new manager. One whose interested in getting more out of the property. It used to be good with lots going on, with Christmas Trees at Christmas from different schools, shops and businesses at over the festive period. Yet now, does very little so nobody is encouraged to go. Though the garden is worth the effort. Thank goodness they have a good gardener.

Although we hadn't booked, a very pleasant volunteer fitted us in to the next house tour & very interesting it was too. Our guide gave a descriptive & often quite funny tour of the house & an insight into it's previous residents. The gardens were an absolute joy & still full of colour. Definitely worth a visit.

A lovely goose and beautiful gardens. The Barn makes a great cafe, with great service. Will be going back sometime.

It is a place of learning and awakens also the knowledge we hold within.
Great staff and volunteers will help you and guide you.
Accessibility at all levels by stairs and lifts.
Time to visit, it is a very large museum. You can spend many hours and still feel you have only seen a small amount.
Cafe and shop.
It's a place where children can interact with the surroundings.
It's on the list of amazing places to visit.
A few pictures to give you a glimpse of inside the museum.

Enjoyed our day out. Very interesting and educational. A mixture of exhibitions on display from dinosaurs to earthquakes to everyday birds and bugs. There are at least 2 places to eat and prices are not to bad seeing as you don't pay for entry to the museum as it's free, donations are welcome. Would recommend visiting at least once. Easy access for buggies and wheelchairs

It's a great exhibition and it's hard to believe it's free. There is a wide range of exhibits, from living organisms to minerals, and both men and women are sure to enjoy them. The museum is very large, so be careful not to concentrate too much or lose track of time. Priority entry is given, although advance booking is not essential.

Such an absolutely wonderful time. I love museums of natural history and I'm not used to going to museums for free so this was such a pleasant experience.
This was my first time at the Natural History Museum in London and there were so many wonderful exhibits. I was a little sad that the escalator which looks like you are going directly into a planet was down but this museum still had so many beautiful rooms filled with amazing aspects of natural history.
While I loved many if the exhibits, my favorite part was walking into the grand entrance. It literally looked like I was walking into Hogwarts. That may sound strange to some, but I was just in such awe of its grandness and beauty.
Definitely hope to return again in the future.

A brilliant museum full of interesting things for children including dinosaurs, the earth and space. I loved the Wildlife photographer of the year exhibition. A very impressive building. Would advise to book tickets and then you only need to scan them. The museum is free.
Amanda D — Google review
An impressive place, the museum is enormous and you cannot see everything in a couple of hours. My recommendation is to look at the map and select in advance the exhibits that are most appealing to you. The highly popular dinosaur’s exhibit is located at the ground floor and can be busy.
I especially like the Earth Treasure’s gallery with magnificent rocks and gems.
You can buy the museum activity book for 5p that includes a map and nice explanations and tasks for kids.

You can't go wrong with free entry. Fantastic way to spend a few hours. Great, interesting exhibitions for all ages. Bought the Kids guide but only used it for the map during the visit. Will probably make more use out of it during the train journey home!

This museum has been on my bucket list forever and finally I have made the trip here earlier this year in spring. Reserved the tickets online. There was a queue in the morning. It was still pretty quick to get in when the doors opened.
Ah the displays were wonderful! Everything was a delight. Especially the more famous displays. Was floored by the hanging skeleton of the whale in the entrance hall.
To anyone out there who loves museums. This is a must visit. You may not be able to cover it all in one day but it is sure fun to try.
Be prepared for some crowds I guess. It wasn't too overwhelming on the day I visited.
Sanjit Singh — Google review
The most famous and interesting museum in London. It is also undoubtedly one of the most beautiful architectural buildings in London.
The entrance is free.
We were here on a weekday, so there weren't many people.
The museum is divided into 4 zones:
• orange - zoology
• blue - dinosaurs, fish, reptiles, mammals and marine life
• green - birds, insects, giant sequoia, minerals
• red zone - minerals, volcanoes, earthquakes, human evolution.
I really liked the blue whale - its skeleton hangs at the entrance to the museum.
° exposition with dinosaurs.
° exhibits of stones, miners, diamonds and stones interspersed with gold, silver, platinum.
There are restrooms inside.

One of the best museums I have ever visited. It was an unbelievable geological and biological journey in time. I didn't know what I had to focus on; the beauty of the building or the collection itself. I wish I had more time(maybe days) to spend here. It was nice to meet you Dodo!

We went on a Friday afternoon, and it was super busy and I think this affected the experience. I am the sort that typically require some space and quite to ponder on the specimens and exhibitions. There was also a long queue, guessing this had to do with the fact it was a Bank Holiday weekend.
The Museum itself wasn't bad. Sections of the building and ground was under renovation but this didn't take away from the beauty of the building. I thought it was grand. I loved the intricate designs both in and out as well as the elegant ceilings. Those were worth paying attention too as well. And the hanging specimens from the roof were a stunner.
Although the weather control didn't seem to work and it was mostly a sweaty experience, we still managed to have a good time. In the end, we found the Cafe/Restaurant on the ground floor and sat by a fan. The toilet was clean.
Ade — Google review
The Natural History Museum is absolutely enormous and very popular with both tourists and locals alike. Just like every other visitor we had to have a look at the dinosaurs but our visit this time was to see the photography exhibition.
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year is a paid exhibition but very good value as the depth and quality of the photography is stunning!
As in previous years I think that some of the best in the exhibit were taken by young people from across the world.
The staff do a good job of ensuring that numbers in the exhibition are limited so that you do get enough time and space to see each photo and commentary.
The Natural History Museum is a must visit if you are in London but don’t expect to see everything in one go-you’ll need to visit many times!

My recent visit to the National History Museum in London was truly captivating. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by impressive exhibits showcasing the diversity of life on Earth. Highlights included the Earth Galleries and the Darwin Centre, both offering immersive experiences. The museum's dedication to education and conservation was evident throughout. Highly recommended for anyone visiting London!

Impressive place. Highly recommended to visit at least once. At slow pace definitely can take around 4 hours to see everything. The collection is really interesting and the way the building looks makes things look even better. At weekday it's not too busy, although always some school trips will be there, but considering it's a free museum it's not a big problem.

The Victoria & Albert Museum is the largest museum of decorative and applied arts in the world. It has a wide range of exhibits, including creative activities for kids. The museum is also home to the Rapid Response Collection, which features contemporary pieces that react to significant moments in recent history.
The description of this museum (online) does not fully describe everything you will see here. It states textiles, fashion, etc. but it is so much more than that. The cast room alone is worth the visit, truly. We thought we would 'briefly' stop in to enjoy the museum, and ended up staying for many hours. Definitely worth seeing. This and the British Museum have been my favorites on this trip. Highly recommend.

My first time going here and i can’t believe why I have waited so long. I love everything about this place. Peaceful surrounds in a magnificent setting. Plenty of time to just stroll and really appreciate the exhibits and sculptures etc. Free entry (some exhibitions that you can pay for and which i will come back and do). Nice that there are people dotted throughout sketching etc so its nice to see their perspectives. This would have to be one of my favourite museums in the world.

One of my favourite London museums! It's a beautiful building both from the outside and the inside. Entry is free however there are some paid exhibitions. It's quite big and you can have a stroll around all day in the different sections and floors, each of them dedicated to a different time period. There are a lot of magnificent pieces of art - painting, sculptures, and other interesting pieces. There are gift shop, a cafe and customer toilets on site. If you're visiting London make sure you don't miss checking out V&A!

One of the best Museums in the world. So many interesting items. The collections focus on the power of good design and beautiful objects. A must see attraction in London. The museum offers free tours that run on every hour. The collections include contemporary pieces & old ones providing interest and breadth of design features. The Jewellery section is particularly rich with beautiful objects.
A huge plus The museum offers great options for sandwiches/Salads/soup/deserts and you get to have your meal in beautiful rooms or if the weather is nice in the outside garden and around the fountain and pool. DO NOT MISS THE museum SHOP 😍🥰

Incredible FREE museum. The Courtyard in the middle has a little pool where children were splashing around. Lots of tables to relax and enjoy a peaceful afternoon. My most favourite museum in the world.
Amazing treasures from medieval times to present day. Beautiful galleries, amazing portraits.
I love the jewellery section, being able to see the jewels of people like Queen Victoria and then walk out and see them wearing them in portraits.
When I visit I want to redecorate my house with wonderful, beautiful things, that will last for hundreds of years.
We went early and it was lovely and quiet. Was reasonably busy when we left.

Love V&A. We were time pressed so we were rushing through. Need to allot a whole day to enjoy this place. The indoor outdoor spaces were very well thought out. Love the mix of ancient and modern.
And the fact that most of the pieces were not cased. Also loved the cafeteria. The rooms were magnificent. The food and food choices were very good for the cafeteria style restaurant.

This museum is right next to the National History Museum so plan accordingly. This is a beautiful museum featuring many displays from Asian derived to other European items. All items are displayed wells and with appropriate decorative style befitting the time period. Overall, this is a very well stocked museum with many interesting items. Good experience.

The V&A is an amazing place to visit; although I always feel a little lost in there. It’s enormous and just packed full of stunning displays, collections and exhibitions.
We were hoping to see the theatre collection but at the time of visiting the area had been closed because of low temperatures.
Instead we explored other sections including some of the jewellery, silverware, stained glass and tapestry. The V&A is definitely somewhere that you could visit multiple times and still have more to see.
There’s a really lovely atmosphere in the museum and the ground floor where you will see many people sketching us always packed. My recommendation would be to go up a couple of levels where there are fewer visitors and then you can soak up the atmosphere and really enjoy your surroundings.

The main reason why I visited the museum is to see the Gabrielle Chanel Fashion Manifesto exhibition which is now fully sold out. It is excellent and well curated. Many of her iconic coats and dresses are on display as well as her cosmetic range. The exhibition is not free but for Chanel fans it’s worth a visit. One also gets to see the history behind her creations. Two hours needed.
I also visited the sculpture section seeing the works of Rodin. It’s nice. As for the very much raved about cafe, I find it so so. True that the high ceiling is beautiful with great art work, the service of the cafe crew begs improvement. I find ordering a bit confusing too. But the place is beautiful and given that the museum is free except for special exhibitions, it’s worth a visit.

Amazing place 🤩. I love the atmosphere of this museum. Beautiful interiors, stunning exhibitions and exhibits. This is a very good place to de-stress, also spend a nice time with friends or family. The museum is long, you can go back there many times and you will always find something new that will surprise or amaze you. I highly recommend to everyone going to London!

This is a spectacular museum with so much to recommend it I don't know where to start. The museum building outside and inside is incredibly beautiful. The medieval section has many beautiful pieces. I also enjoyed the China and Korea exhibit. That's all I had time to see! If you are in London don't miss this gem.

Very large Museum. The cast room is amazing. Lots of different eras covered. The centre area with the pool is a good area to relax and dip your feet in the pool. The best part is the museum is still free!!! Other major cities can learn from the London model.

First time visitor. Solo traveler.
Recommendation: No children or minors unless they have an unusual affinity/appreciation for the arts. The ones I saw in there looked bored. Additionally, plan hours or days. The place is huge with multiple exhibits. Naturally everyone has favorites. But to appreciate the breadth of the museums catalog, one needs to plan multiple hours or visits.

Visited on a weekday(Friday). Entry was free and no bookings necessary.
It was massive with lots to see and appreciate. You'd need more than a couple of hours to really get the most of your visit. Spent about 3hrs instead of the 1hr I had initially scheduled.
No drinks and foods allowed in but there is a cafe and designated eating area inside.
If you love museums, this has to be a must see.

Hands down the most amazing collection of art and design I have seen. It's worth every second of the four hours spent there, and I can't wait to go back!
Take a look at the exhibit map before you start, focus on a few areas, and plan for more than one trip!
Also, grab lunch or tea in the cafe or out in the garden cafe. The food was delicious too!

Fabulous museum of arts and crafts, with so many wonderful exhibits, I don't think you could see everything properly if you visited every day for a year. My favourite galleries were the iron work and the modern glass. It is frankly awesome that admission is free.
A couple of minor niggles; the galleries are a bit of a maze, so it is not easy finding your way around, secondly the cafe is about as expensive as anywhere I have ever eaten - £5.90 for a scone, anyone?!

Brilliant Museum with brilliant collections . There are so much to see. Enjoyed every minute of it. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. Good location about 7/8 minutes waking distance from South Kensington station with disable access and clean toilet facilities. Also the Museum have a nice garden and cafe where you can have food and spend a quality time. And it’s free. 10 out of 10.

Absolutely necessary to visit while you’re in London. There is something for EVERYONE. There are pieces from all continents and cultures, and it stays true to its original purpose of art education and cultivation. I recommend the jewellery, cast rooms, and silver rooms for first timers. The glass room, renaissance rooms and Islamic room are also worth a visit.

Unfortunately, we didn't have time to properly view all of the exhibits.
The exhibits we did see were impressive. We caught an impressive live performance from the 'Red Ladies'. Their performance was certainly thought-provoking. It was a polished performance littered with impressive twists and surprises. The exhibits are well spaced out and information regarding the exhibits are very informative without being long winded and time consuming.
This allows for a speedy procession through the building.
We will return and allot the time the museum obviously deserves. Free entry is certainly appreciated.

My favourite art museum in London! There is a mixture of modern and traditional pieces: a little something for everyone. I would recommend getting a map on entry, then deciding which sections and floors you want to see, as it is a very big museum. It wasn't busy when we went, however it might be in public holidays, so be careful.

An exquisite place. Absolutely fascinating and densely packed with amazing art, educational tools, and information. A must visit.
It took me approximately 5-6 hours and I strongly recommend not dedicating any less to this museum. But if you're short on time, I'd say still give it a visit. It's a visual stunner. I especially recommend the sculpture halls, cast courts and the jewellery rooms.
The musical exhibition is also fantastic but it might be temporary.

We included this museum to our plans as a secondary stop in the first place, but then we saw that it is a very underrated place!
We actually spent more time and interest in this place than the British Museum. It has such a wide range of pieces from all over the world and the design of the museum is so good that you do not want to miss anything. Moreover, it is not crowded like other museums so you get more chances to see everything at your pace and longer.
Also, you do not have to reserve your tickets and it's free, you just enter through through the door and you are in.
Definitely and absolutely a must-visit.

Not only does this museum have amazing art collections, it has an amazing courtyard with a large puddle pool for the kids to run through to cool off & decompress. Surrounding the pool is grassy steps & the cafe so parents can take a great break. I can’t say enough about this museum.

I’ve been to a lot of museums and this by far was amazing! I almost didn’t go here and ended up being a last minute what else can we do thing. Glad I didn’t miss it! So much cool stuff to see and the whole place is just amazing!

Really amazing and vast collection of art, antiquities, design. The building is really beautiful but very maze like. It would take a whole day to see everything.
We went during the week when kids had time off school and it wasn't too crazy busy.

Starting out on the new Elizabeth line, we whipped across East to West London. Accessing the museum was easy a few feet from the South Kensington tube.
As you go in, donations are requested, and maps are offered. The exhibitions are well laid out, and the museum map offers a route around, and there are hours of exhibits to pique your interest.
The cafe is very expensive even for London prices £2.55 for a small water is unacceptable. But the tea room is a wonderful room, worth a look.
There are lectures and guides available. The museum offers a £5 audio guide, so beware expensive fake guides!! We spotted a few.
The trip was wonderful and we will return with a better agenda and more time. Maybe to take a sketch as well, which we saw a lot of artists doing there.

I love this museum, it's been a few years since my last visit. I looked around the jewellery display and the stained glass. Followed by coffee and passion fruit tart in the café, ending with a look around the gift shop. The building itself is beautiful and there's a great selection in the shop. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do anything else I would have liked to look around the Egyptian display. Well worth a visit.

First visit for many years and had an interesting and fun afternoon. The food in the restaurant was amazing and the dining rooms were worth a visit in themselves. There’s a lot to do so I only concentrated on a few areas: fashion through the ages, the Raphael cartoons, furniture and a visit to the gift shop - full of stylish and quality items. Good family birthday gifts!

We visited the exhibition DIVA. It was really good!
They divided it in two floors. You can see outfits of many different famous people.
When you enter, they give you earphones to make the experience even more special.
Totally recommendable.
By the way, don’t forget to book your ticket in advance, else you might not get in, because it often sold out.

Soooo much fun and interesting things to see and learn from! We spent almost an entire day there, and still haven't seen everything, we are going back for another visit and this time hopefully we'll see more! Unbelievable diversity of cultural arts, pottery, jewellery, clothes, etc that one would need a few days/ visits to be able to really get it! Loved every second of my 1st visit and can't wait to return!

The museum is fantastic overall. My personal highlight was the intricate miniature structures on the third floor. Visiting on a Sunday, I found the first and second floors bustling with visitors, but the third and fourth floors were pleasantly uncrowded. From jewelry to technological devices, the museum exhibits a diverse array of items from around the globe. I highly recommend paying a visit.

10/10 would recommend. You should spend the whole day here from 10 am until it’s closed because it’s sooo wide and there’s just simply a lot of things to see. There are -1 level to 4 level so you need to prepare to bring the map so you don’t get lost. Would love to visit this again

The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, founded in 1852, is a global hub for art and design. Its extensive collection spans over 5,000 years and includes diverse artifacts from around the world. With striking Victorian architecture, it offers a rich cultural experience through permanent collections and temporary exhibitions.

Monolithic in size and content! Mainly helpful staff and good accessibility across the place, decent toilets and beautiful hallways. Some areas are in need of TLC with wording faded and tattered, with money being ring fenced for other more ‘exciting’ parts. Closed too early unfortunately and some parts of super busy, but if you go early and during the week you can have a good time, no tickets needed. The camera obscures is fun and not very busy.

We really enjoyed the tour, wonderful museum with attentive staff, we spent around 6 hours visiting all the rooms.
Great history, ancient Greek, omg incredible Italian replica in the main room.
Guys, take half a day and visit the place, which is incredible!

This museum is expansive. If you give even a little attention to all exhibits you will be there all afternoon. Tapestries, ceramics, photography, sculpture, furniture too much to list really. Also right across the street from the Museum of Natural History and the Science Museum. You can definitely make a whole day and then some in this one area of London.
The British Museum, established in 1753 with collections from Sir Hans Sloane, houses over eight million items from around the world. It offers themed departments such as Ancient Egypt and Sudan, Greece and Rome, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Oceania and the Americas. Despite its renowned antiquities like the Elgin Marbles, it's also toddler-friendly with a Families Desk in the Great Court for guidance and Museum Explorer Trails for kids.
Superb few hours here with our first visit. Allow loads of time as there is so much to see and explore. There is something for everyone and would recommend going to each level. Although it's free entry it's worth doing a donation as well. My grandchildren are also fascinated with the museum. Plenty of facilities to make the visit more enjoyable.

Excellent experience. Beautiful place outside and inside. Many interesting collections. Enough to do here for a whole day.. Download the app and you have your personal audio guide for all the exhibits throughout the museum. Food and drink is sold on site, and a nice gift shop to get yourself a memoir.

Some of the most precious objects in the world gathered in one place for the pleasure of the public. An incredible archive of human history, a life affirming glimpse into the past and an outstanding reminder of the depth of man's ingenuity.
Don't miss it. If your time is limited, plan ahead. Identify the objects or exhibits you want to see. A week wouldn't be long enough, to take the time, to appreciate every incredible treasure there is to see.

Fantastic experience! The staff were very helpful and the displays and exhibits were marvellous. Everything was laid out logically and spaciously.
The only negative point is there isn’t a lot of seating and it can be quite tiresome. More benches and seats are definitely needed.

Amazing experience and all for free! The history of the museum and its additions is a story within itself. The Egyptian section really tapped into imagining what life was like for them. The original museum building being staged how it was originally designed to be used was an insight into society and their interpretation of other cultures at that time. Absolutely fantastic and a Covid safe place to visit. It's hard to describe all the magnificent collections, you'll need to visit yourself 🙂

A wonderful experience on a very wet London day. We arrived mid morning and we were expecting to queue but we went in easily despite the security inspection. There is no cost so no awful queue like the Louvre. We were able to leave coats, bags and umbrellas at the cloakroom for a very reasonable price. This freed us up to enjoy the museum. It is huge! We got a free map then decided to buy the guidebook and study it before setting out. We went to the 3rd floor first and booked for lunch at the restaurant. We then did the 3rd floor which is vast before an EXCELLENT, late lunch. Then down to the ground floor galleries. Unfortunately, the Parthenon galleries were closed but there was so much to see that it really did not matter. Keep some energy: The gift shops and book shops were amazing but since we are travelling light, we had to resist.
We made a donation because this fantastic museum is still free. Enjoy!

As a big history buff, the British Museum certainly didn't disappoint me. I was at the museum with my family, and it was an experience I will never forget.
Even though there were a lot of people and the museum seemed a bit cluttered, once you got to the areas where there weren't so many people, it was a dream come true for me. Beautiful and containing descriptions, I spent several hours in the museum. I liked the passage of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and Japan the best. But the most interesting exhibit was undoubtedly Rosetta Stone. Although I understand that for someone who is not so interested in history, the museum may seem boring. For me, it was an experience ! won't soon forget and if l'm ever in London again, I'll definitely go again.

It’s a giant museum. There are many floors and many sessions. There are many samples from different continents and regions of the world (I wonder how they all ended up there?). You need almost a whole day to be able to see everything very calmly and absorb all the information. However it is a unique opportunity and you must do it, even more so that admission is free.

So much to see and learn!

I keep coming back here as it is such a wonderful museum. There is so much to see and you could spend an entire day exploring. It's an absolute labyrinth so a map is advisable. It was a hot day and the museum was quite warm so dress accordingly. There are some temperature controlled areas and seating throughout, should you need a rest or cool off

Our third museum visit on the same day. This was always our go to museum on past visits to London.
There is so much to learn and rediscover here, and we love the Assyrian and Egyptian exhibits.
Also, the huge covered roof creates such a wonderful place, with the two cafe dining areas bookending the souvenir store.
The reading room upstairs is also a must visit.
Entrance is free but you need to book your date and time online in advance.

The British Museum houses an extensive and diverse collection of history, culture, and art around the world. The exhibits are well-organized and provide insightful context.
We spent about 4h walking around and absorbing history. You can definitely spend more time because it's huge and requires a lot of walking.
Entry to the museum is free!
Would recommend doing homework on what you'd like to see the most and plan your route before your visit.
We took a map and clearly indicated "must see" which made it easier to navigate.
Overall, it's a must-visit destination.
Highly recommended!

Holy Moly! I've wanted to visit the museum for some time but living in Manchester I have struggled to justify the journey. I visited specifically to see the current Legion: Life in the Roman army exhibition and it was incredible. The amount of things to see and read was a bit overwhelming and I honestly think it would take a couple of days to see everything. The building is incredible and has every amenity anyone could need. Plenty of resting areas, toilets, cafes and gift shops, and although I didn't use it myself the disabled access seemed very good.
My only recommendation would be to go in with a plan and an expectation that you won't see everything. Plan the eras or sections you want to see and then come back another time to complete the rest.
It does get very busy and crowded due to large tours so patience is required but it is definitely worth a visit.
The only negative thing I can say is that it was hard to navigate at times as the maps are hard to read in my opinion.

Absolutely divine place! Everyone must visit The British Museum at least ones in a lifetime. But to be honest one whole day will be not enough to explore all rooms and exhibitions. We will return!

The British Museum houses a vast collection of historical and cultural artefacts from various ancient civilizations around the world. Notable highlights include the Egyptian collection featuring mummies and the renowned Rosetta Stone, as well as Greek and Roman sculptures, Asian art, and Islamic art. With complimentary admission, it presents an exceptional opportunity for enthusiasts of history and art to explore and appreciate these remarkable collections.
Please note that it is advisable to purchase a ticket in advance and allocate sufficient time for your visit, with a recommended duration of at least half a day. Additionally, it is prudent to avoid visiting during holiday periods, as the museum experiences significant crowds during these times.

A vast amount of historical heritage in one place. Many civilizations, an immense museum. Be prepared to spend over 6 hours to visit the museum; it's commendable that there are places to buy food and drinks within the museum.
Book your tickets before the visit to enter more quickly, and also, do not carry a backpack as it will expedite your entry; you won't have to go through a check.

Have been many times before but went to see the temporary “Legion, Life in the Roman Army” exhibit. Totally spaced it and didn’t preorder the free timed entry and had to kill some time at the Starbucks across the street. Once in I explored some of the favorites - Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Japan, and China.
The Legion exhibit was interesting. There were some wonderful looking artifacts and the displays were well arranged. I liked the idea of following along in the foot steps of a single person. My one complaint is with the patrons, not the museum - when the place is full and there are others looking at the same display, don’t be thoughtless and constant in front of the thing like it’s your own little party. Be aware and be considerate.
Michael Blair — Google review
Fantastic museum and easily one of the world's best. You will not be able to see the whole museum in one go. There is an audio app for not much that provides details on many pieces. It's worth getting ahead of time. Still good to listen to after you leave the museum, too. One of my favorite pieces I only appreciated after the audio. Famous items will be hard to see due to all the people that want to take a selfie in front of it, instead of actually looking at it. There is a cloak room to put bags and coats so you don't have to lug everything around. Also, the west (left) wing has a quiet pizza place if you need to get away from the crowd.

The National Gallery in London is a museum that features the works of some of historys most celebrated European painters, from the medieval period to the early 20th century.
I love the way the National Gallery have made visits easier by proposing three different routes - the A, B or C. This makes a visit there more manageable. In the past, I have been somewhat overwhelmed by the vastness of the collections.
The artworks were beautifully displayed but noisy schoolchildren fooling around and amateur artists plonked right in front of some paintings blocking your frontal view tended to mar slightly the wonderful experience. On the whole, though, it was a wonderful experience.

It always takes my breath away. I love to go in and find my favourite paintings even if I have only got 45 minutes! The joy that this treasured building is free to enter makes it possible to do this - and makes me so proud. I used to go straight for the museums…. Till the first time I went in! I was stunned by the depth of Turner’s paintings and the sheer size of some….. and the way they glow. Pictures cannot do it justice. Always try and make time for the gift shop. Look up at the ceilings…. Look down at the floors. Magnificent.

So huge, and wonderfully designed. The most famous pieces are scattered around which I think works well for the museum, as in places like the Louvre there isn't much done to prevent bottlenecking, whilst here I was able to see well known paintings easily without overcrowding, so I was able to enjoy them too! The spaces are very light and open. The exhibition on St Francis was very interesting, too. Like many museums in the UK the admission is free, and it would certainly be worth a visit even if it wasn't!

I mean, you kind of know what you're getting into when it comes to London's great collection of art. You'll find art from each period over the last 500 years, names you'll recognize both big and small.
Plan to spend at least an hour, and try to avoid a busy time if you can as it does get crowded. If you are going during a busy period, then definitely buy tickets in advance.

One of the best art museums located in the heart of London at the famous Trafalgar square.
You have to book tickets in advance online, however, entry is totally free and in case of non rush hours they do not even check your tickets which mean you don't have to stand in queue as well.
In addition to the portraits and the paintings the architecture of the gallery from the inside is really wonderful.
Recommended for a long visit for art lovers but even if you are not an art lover - still recommended for a quick visit if you're in Trafalgar Square.

This art museum is beautiful, the building and the paintings are great. The gallery is free to visit! Trafalgar Square, London, WC2N 5DN, United Kingdom
The building, first listed as Grade II in 1970, was upgraded to Grade I in 2011.
In 2013, it was announced that 55 Broadway would be converted into luxury apartments, once London Underground moved operations from the building in 2015 to their new headquarters in the Olympic Park, Stratford, London.
In May 2014, it was announced that the architects, TateHindle, would lead the redevelopment and, in June 2015, planning permission and listed building consent was granted: however, this was not implemented and the planning permission expired in June 2018.
In September 2019, a long-term lease of the property was sold by Transport for London for £120 million to Integrity International Group, founded by Tony Matharu.
In May 2020, it was announced that Blue Orchid Hotels, a subsidiary of Integrity International, would convert the structure into a luxury hotel. (Wiki)

At first I was worried I wouldn’t be able to follow the system or get myself lost. Which I did, end up going the wrong way. But it’s actually so easy to follow, it’s good to make a few errors as then you will be conscious of ensuring you’re on the right tube. London Underground is amazing and it is really easy to get around and see places. I would walk around central London. Use the underground when going further afield.
The trains are very regular, you will find they can get very busy, packed. Don’t feel you need to squeeze in, just wait for the next train as it will add to your experience and enjoy it better.
As you would anywhere just be vigilant of your surroundings. I felt very safe, as a solo traveler I was very surprised.

This is a good way to get around London. The new trains and updated stations are good. It is easy to get a ticket and to get around. However, the ventilation is poor, horrible, hot, and sweaty. It makes for an unbearable and uncomfortable ride. However, some of the trains and train stations have proper ventilation and air but most do not. I only take one train with no transfers, which is all that I can bear, and walk just to be outside where I can breath easy. I caution you to only ride when necessary and recommend you walk outside if able.

Coming from Manchester we need this in the city....
Yes its a bit dim, dark and dirty....
But what a brilliant, cheap and quick way to get around....

These shops are all closed for good. I could rattle on about the good old days, (people actually pay to hear about it) and a book would be better; it would take a book, pdf, file, whatever to explain how much it has changed. Point?
Many but the main one is: Thanks to Bid Rigging the same people keep getting rich fulfilling contracts that do nothing but cosmetic change. I'd rather see the old retailers (driven out by sky high rent, business taxes, business rates that the the big corporate retailers. Btw/ if you come to London be prepared to lug your suitcase up and down many flights of stairs. Of course the bureaucracy will point to "no step access" (only lawsuits by disabled brought that in) and there are more lifts (elevators), yes this is better than nothing - - lucky find one lift 20 years ago. The old, dirty, extremely noisy rolling stock in Central London is the same. Recently you could still find "MetroCamell" 1973. John Lennon probably on one.
Sure, they Spent £16 Billion over budget and late) on a new Elizabeth Line. It's a nice reflection on what we have - - tourists are in central London for the sights, not off to Abby Wood (the other one) and to have them riding the clittering, clanking, clattering collection of caligenous junk - - (think Wizard of Oz to the Tin Man) is a disgrace.

Big Ben is a cultural landmark located in London, England. The bell on the clocktower rings once every hour, and it has been called "the world's most famous clock". The tower, which is 16 stories high, was built between 1858 and 1868.
Lovely place. A great tourist place. Always big crowds. However, it is worth coming here. The Big Ben building is an extraordinary architectural craftsmanship. Today, after renovation, it looks like new. I highly recommend visiting this place in London.

What a classic structure made during 1860s.
View from London eye is also worth viewing.
There are many other tourist attractions near this place, which is definitely gonna take your day, and still you may want to come here again.
Amazing tourist attraction in London. Vibes are great here 😁
You can easily reach here through train.
Westminster or Embankment is the nearest station.

Completely astonishing experience! The place is temporarily closed however it is worth visiting even from out. The view from the bridge is unforgettable!
There's a small gift shop which offers pretty good gifting articles about London at a very reasonable price.
You can enjoy an amazing view of London Eye and Big Ben from the bridge with the pleasant air papering you.
Master piece!

Is unbelievable how beautiful this structure is in real life when you see it in person. It is humongous and it looks pristine for its age.
To think the time it took to build it and the precision of the clock is mesmerizing. Some very smart people made this work for all to enjoy.

Big Ben, standing tall beside the River Thames, is an architectural masterpiece that transcends time. Its iconic clock face and resounding chimes contribute to the timeless charm of London's skyline. Whether admired from Westminster Bridge or explored up close, Big Ben encapsulates the city's history and culture. A London land mark and iconic structure craftsmanship at its best. Nice to see the scaffolding coming down after the £80m make over. Unfortunately today 8th April scaffolding hit the building whilst been removed. Hopefully not too much damage.

Majestic, huge, historic and elegant at the same time. A beautifully-looking building. Unfortunately it's still closed, but just by looking at it, taking photos from every angle possible is so much fun. If you are visiting London, it's a must-see attraction.

Big Ben or Elizabeth's tower is one of the most well-known attractions in London. The view is lovely! Thought no matter when you are visiting London it's an extremely crowded place. I would recommend to have a quick stroll under Big Ben and continue to the next closest bridge to have a complete view of Thames river and Big Ben.

Big Ben is actually the name of the 13.5 ton weighing big bell inside the tower which had been the nickname and has been renamed with the Elizabeth tower.
And this is a really an icon of London and famous for its movements’ accuracy and reliability of telling time by striking bells every 15 min. Clock and dial design is very classic
As a part of the Parliament, I think this tower completes the perfection and beauty of the buildings which you may feel better when enjoying the night view. Without this, the Parliament would be a little bit boring even if its appearance is also fantastic. You can see and enjoy this structure from Trafalga square as well when facing the Whitehall. There are also may tourists spots like Westminster abbey, London eye and so on nearby so that you must visit and enjoy the nice view and sound from the clock tower.

The street in front of it is very crowded, over the bridge you’ve got a nice view, but if you go the other direction in front of Parliament Square Garden you will have a nice view and not very crowded to take photos.

It's a great view when they're not doing works on it or on the street. Night time pictures of Big Ben are great. You can take pictures from the bridge and towards the London Eye. Westminster Abbey and the House Guards are near. On occasions you can enter parliament but I've never been so find out times and details if you want to go in. Don't expect amenities nearby. Also, very few places for coffee, only a couple where you can sit down but not easy to find. Best cafes are five minutes away towards Victoria or Trafalgar but quite full most of the time. The London eye is near over the bridge and on the way you can see the London Aquarium, my kids loved it. Also, its an easy walk to St James park and Buckingham Palace. I find the park particularly nice with all the birds in the lake and the views towards the palace but better seen/enjoyed in good weather. There are toilets there as well as a couple of kiosks for snacks and drinks.

Big Ben, one of London's most iconic landmarks, stands tall and proud beside the River Thames, serving as a symbol of the city's rich history and enduring resilience. Despite its popular name, Big Ben actually refers to the Great Bell housed within the Elizabeth Tower, which is part of the Palace of Westminster, home to the UK Parliament.
Completed in 1859, the Elizabeth Tower, with its magnificent clock face and towering presence, quickly became a beloved emblem of London's skyline. The Great Bell, which weighs over 13 tons, chimes melodiously every hour, marking the passage of time with its deep, resonant tones. Its name, "Big Ben," is believed to have been derived from the nickname of Sir Benjamin Hall, the Commissioner of Works at the time of the tower's construction.
Over the years, Big Ben has endured wartime bombings, renovations, and even occasional maintenance hiccups, but it has remained steadfast as a symbol of London's resilience and endurance. Its timeless beauty and majestic presence continue to captivate visitors from around the world, who flock to admire its grandeur and snap photos against the backdrop of the historic Westminster Palace.
Despite undergoing restoration works in recent years to address structural issues and ensure its longevity, Big Ben still stands as a timeless symbol of London's past, present, and future. As the heart of the city beats to the rhythm of its chimes, Big Ben remains a cherished icon, reminding us of London's enduring spirit and the timeless allure of its historic landmarks.

The tower clock is something incredible to watch. It gives 2 different vibes when standing there in daylight and also at night. Both give different feelings.
The London eye is visible from here which makes it more attractive.
Less crowds, very near, but the road is busy with traffic.
One of London's most popular tourist attractions, the London Eye offers panoramic views of the city from its 443-foot wheel. The Eye is busiest during holiday periods, but can be visited at any time of year and provides an excellent opportunity to see the capital from above.
Fantastic staff and attraction. Very convenient location and easy access. This is a very busy area, but it is well signed and easy to navigate. There are many services on site and you can enjoy the surroundings before and after the ride. The ride itself is fantastic and offers wonderful views of London - especially if you are a picture taker. The pricing is reasonable and you can also bundle with other attractions. We did find this a bit confusing, until we were helped by a friendly staff member. You do have to watch times as they gave us a tight connection to the next attraction - no worries though as there was a wait time there. Well worth the time and cost

I had an absolutely fantastic experience on the London Eye during my husband's birthday weekend! We decided to purchase tickets in advance using discount vouchers we found online, which turned out to be a great idea.
Even though it was a busy day, our early arrival—30 minutes before our scheduled slot—ensured that we didn't face any waiting time. Staff was very friendly and cooperative. The entire family had an amazing time, and we got the chance to experience not just one, but two incredible performances, one was magic show and the other one was music show. The restroom was clean, though it's worth mentioning that there is a fee for using them. The weather was perfect, allowing us to spend a delightful 4 to 5 hours enjoying the stunning views and vibrant atmosphere. For those planning to visit with kids, I recommend bringing along some snacks and water to keep everyone energized. All in all, it was an unforgettable day.

The London Eye is an iconic modern marvel that offers a unique perspective of the city's skyline. Situated on the banks of the River Thames, this giant observation wheel is a must-visit attraction for anyone exploring London.
The experience of riding the London Eye is nothing short of breathtaking. As you ascend slowly in one of the spacious glass capsules, you're treated to panoramic views of London's most famous landmarks, including Big Ben, the Shard, and St. Paul's Cathedral. The slow rotation ensures you have ample time to take in the sights, and the bird's-eye view of the bustling city below is both mesmerizing and tranquil.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing interesting insights into the history and geography of London throughout the journey. Whether you visit during the day to enjoy the city bathed in sunlight or at night when it's illuminated by thousands of lights, the view is equally enchanting.
While the ticket prices may seem a bit steep, the London Eye delivers an unforgettable experience that's well worth the cost. It's an excellent way to gain a new perspective on London and create lasting memories. Whether you're a tourist or a local, a ride on the London Eye is an essential part of your London adventure.

It's London's must do tourist attraction. You can see for miles around and have a great view onto the Thames and houses of Parliament. It's always busy, so it always has a queue of tourists waiting to get on, but the queue is well managed and keeps moving all the time, as the eye doesn't actually stop turning, you are skillfully managed on and off the cabin as it moves slowly along the ground section. You can take bags on, which are checked by security, and take as many photos as you like. On a clear day, you can see as far as Scotland 😉.

Repeat visit after ~6 years. This time we bought advance tickets using some discount vouchers. Experience this time was much better as I think the overall crowd was smaller (not sure why). It was still plenty busy but the staff were quite good at guiding the people and sticking to the promised time slots which made the queue go quicker.
The ride itself was as wonderful as last time. Thankfully the little rain earlier had cleared off and it was pretty clear for the duration. Excellent views as expected.
Overall I think its a bit steeply priced (for repeat visits) but using discount vouchers made it reasonable. Definitely a must-do for first visit and in decent weather conditions!

Great tourist attraction. I'm pleased that pods are not overloaded with people. You have space to move about and take in the different 360-degree views of the capital. We've been lucky on the occasions we've ridden the eye and gad sunny and clear days. I think nighttime would also be an amazing experience.
The mechanism is slow and smooth. You hardly feel the motion as this rotates, and the inside was clean and smelt fresh.
It is surprising how high you feel when you reach the top, so if you struggle with heights, there's seating in the centre of the pod if needed.
This attraction is permanently busy, and rightly so. A great attraction to visit and experience in London.

A must do/see! London eye was such a cool experience! Book in advance and choose the flex pass for a few more pounds. We rode the London Eye at night and the view was amazing! I’m sure you can see more during the daytime , but the lit up London view was pretty magical! Heads up - you’re probably going to want to buy everything at the London Eye gift shop. But if you walk just across the way to the other gift shop (literally, right across) you will save some money and have more souvenir options.

The view is nice, but the windows are not very clean and the reflection of the light limits the quality of the photos that can be taken. The tickets have an entry time, but the queue control is not the best and you could spend two hours in the line. If you want to queue less (20 minutes) you have to buy the ticket that costs 15 pounds more. The ride takes approximately 25 minutes.

It was an amazing experience looking the whole London city on the top of Eye 🎡 👀. You can see Big Ben, House of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, The Shard, Tower Bridge and many more.
The only thing that was concerning, waiting queue was too long on the weekend especially during this summer time. I was tired standing for an hour and affected my experience to fully enjoy. Also, the position of sun 🌞 during that time ⏲️ , just between afternoon and evening facing towards me and sun rays blocking the other side to see freely. This is why I would recommend a time of early morning and the time during sunset 🌇 is even better (of course not during long summer days because of early closing time).
In the end, I would love to see evening view hopefully during the next visit.

Just look at these photos; it's worth the money you pay to ride the wheel. It's breathtaking. My advice is to buy the ticket in advance and opt for fast pass. My recent trip to London wouldn't have been complete without a visit to the iconic London Eye! April offered pleasant weather with clear skies and crisp air – perfect for enjoying the panoramic views from the pods. The wait times weren't excessive, and the entire experience was well-organized.
Stepping into the pod was like entering another world. As it gently rotated, I was mesmerized by the breathtaking 360-degree views of London. The city unfolded beneath me, with all its famous landmarks – Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament – clearly visible in the clear spring light. It was a truly unforgettable sight.
Here are some tips for your visit:
1. Book your tickets online in advance to avoid long queues, especially during peak season.
2. Consider a combo ticket that includes entry to other attractions, like Madame Tussauds or the SEA LIFE London Aquarium, which can save you money.
3. There's usually a 4D cinema experience included, adding another dimension to your visit with a short film about London's history.
If you are in London this attraction is a must-to-do thing especially in clear weather.

Twas a very busy day but the queue moved quickly. Great experience, hardly felt like the wheel was moving hence I was relaxed the whole considering that I'm afraid of heights. Take note you have to be quick swift when getting on and off the ride as it doesn't stop, I saw very old people get on with fair amount of ease. The experience was incredible. Views amazing. The only reason I am giving the London eye 3 stars is the price and the booking For the London pass. There were plenty of times available; however, no more time slots for pass holders so we had to pay full price after already paying for the London pass. It’s incredibly frustrating when there are actually slots right at the time when you show up and you are told you still can’t use your pass and you have to book ahead. The price is way too much for this.

The line was long but moved very quickly so it didn’t feel long at all. The eye moves at a slower pace so it is not scary getting on or off while it is moving. They do stop for people that need extra time to move. There is a small, very limited seating area in the middle of the pod, so if you are the last to enter you might not get a seat. The entire pod is clear so you can get a full clear view from every angle. There is a photo at the end and the side of the photo is labeled in the pod. It is a nice tourist experience.

The Tower of London is a famous landmark in London that houses Crown Jewels and iconic Beefeaters. It is home to centuries of bloody history, including scenes of prisoners being hanged, drawn and quartered.
Certainly a must see if you are traveling to London! The history of the Tower is hard to comprehend when you consider that the place is older than the United States. Lots of history to take in from the jail cells, torture machines, to the tower, the ravens, and all of the armament, weapons and cannons to see. The Tower also has the Crown Jewels on display. I would plan to arrive early if you do not wish to stand in line for extended periods to see the Crown Jewels. They are worth seeing though…especially if you want to see diamonds, emeralds and sapphires the size of golf balls. Unfortunately, photos of the jewels are not allowed or I would post some.
As others have mentioned, there are a lot of stairs, narrow spiraling staircases and some narrow corridors to walk through. That said, it was certainly one of the many highlights on our London trip. I’ve seen people give estimates of time for this visit. I would say 3-4 hours is probably a good estimate (not including a long waiting time in line for jewels). We read some of the signage on displays and then just passed by others. If you are the type who reads it all, maybe longer.

Great day out, lots of history and beautiful views of the castle and Tower Bridge and a nice cafe inside. You can follow a guided tour or purchase an audio guide, though neither is particularly needed as there is plenty of information displayed in all parts of the castle. Not really suitable for buggies or wheelchairs as there is lots of stair climbing involved.

Admission was a little steep but totally worth it. We paid under £30 per person, but it varies by date and what website you purchase through. We bought tickets in person and not in advance.
As soon as we walked in there was a beefeater starting a complimentary tour. He was very funny and informative, and explain the history of the castle and the surrounding areas with a lot of detail given to the history of executions here.
There is also an audio tour available at an additional cost.
We left his tour to go explore by ourselves and we saw the king's Chambers which were fascinating and included a marker in the chapel where King Henry VI was assassinated. Awesome. There were active guards marching around who still live inside the castle.
Actors were doing a play in the courtyard by the White Tower. There were plenty of bathrooms and a couple of cool gift shops.
You could easily spend three or more hours here.
As with most attractions in the city, parking could be a problem but we did not have a car.

It was a wonderful experience and a great place to visit. The history of the place is amazing. It is advisable to take the guided tour as the guide really knows his stuff and gives you some great insights into the history of the place and also gives good advice on what to visit next as the place is a really big place. You really need at least 4 to 5 hours to see the place properly and to learn about the history of the place and to take some lovely pictures. Well worth a visit.

Make sure you look at the map so you don't miss any sections as it can get quite confusing as to where you've been. The gift shop is full of lovely souvenirs.

Absolutely worth a visit make sure you’ve got the legs for it there’s a lot of walking to do. We did the 45 minute tour guide well worth it. Saw the guards and importantly visited the white tower and the Crown Jewels. Unfortunately we got there later than expected and then found out the tower closed at 16:30. If you haven’t been go visit it is a must see my 9 year immensely enjoyed it.

This excursion was fantastic! The Expedia tickets were effortlessly accessible on my mobile phone. The tour provided both entertainment and historical information. There's an abundance of sights to explore, making it worth spending a few hours. The queues moved swiftly, and the attractions were clearly signposted. Ample restrooms and stroller parking. It's an incredible activity and an absolute must-do.

A very interesting place to visit. the place is steeped in history. We all read about it in textbooks and saw it in movies. Incredible feeling. The treasure chest is simply amazing. Crown of the Queen! Cool! Very cool staff. And these crows)))) I recommend without hesitation! Use the audio guide.

A must see for any London travelers interested in its rich history. Enjoy this amazing castle and all of its nooks of deep history. There are a lot of steps so keep this in mind. It's easy to get tickets and although there are a lot of people, it's easy to navigate throughout. Tons of amazing photo opportunities. Have fun!

This is a beautiful site to see. This is where the Crown Jewels are held and was a big fortress!! I mostly came here just to see the Crown Jewels, even though some of them were out due to the Coronation of Charles III, but this place was an amazing place to visit. But this use to be, and still is, a military fortress. A little fun fact, during WWI, the Tower of London did military training, even though it was still open to the public visiting the place. I just find that extremely interesting.
The Tower of London is one staple of London history, British history, and Royal history. The The Royal Family has their Crowned Jewels here where you can see them on display. Dating back to 1066, but made famous by William I (William the Conqueror) when he moved here in 1078. Kings William I (William the Conqueror), King Henry III, and King Richard I were living here at one point all adding to the historical site. The Tower of London has been a fortress for the majority of its time, but I found interesting is that it was used as a prison until WWII, with soldiers training here with the prisoners on a different side of the site. You can go see the Crowned Jewels here, which were amazing to see (there's no photography while seeing the Crowned Jewels). I truly enjoy walking the grounds here and seeing some of the Crowned Jewels the British Royal Family has to offer.

One of the main tourist attractions. We were here on a weekday in September. Although it was quite busy, there were no queues and it didn’t feel crowded. Extensive collection of weapons and armor, and interesting history of the place. The animal statues made of wire are awesome!

Amazing tourist attraction of this wonderful place,it is one of the most visited places nowadays since the Royal Jewels are guarded here. The Royal jewels are amazingly displayed, and the history of them is well explained all along the place. Big queue for the Crown Jewels once you got inside the Tower, but well worth the wait. I suggest everything try to come early in the morning around the 8:30 slot. It will not be crowded at that time. There are lots of things to see inside the tower. The Cafe inside is a great place to take relief. The exit is beside the Thames with awesome views of Tower Bridge.
We thought it will take 2-3 hours but we spend almost 5 hrs. The fortress is maintained properly. The audio guide helps you a lot when you are in. The Ammunition department is amazing.
I will definitely come back to visit them again whenever possible.

Fantastic history. Beef eaters were brilliant at informing us of the history of the place. He made it so entertaining. Made us laugh.
There are many stairs to climb.
Looking at the beautiful crowns and museums to walk around were educational.
Worth visiting.

A wonderful place to visit when you are in London. It covers a little bit of the history of the city, military, history, and a unique look at the growth of the monarchy throughout history, including viewings, and tours of the royal jewels. There is a lot of information about the architecture of the building, and the views are amazing. I would highly recommend it to people and families.

Breathtaking scenery, amazing architecture. Get there early on the weekend because it gets very busy, especially if the weather is favorable. We were very fortunate with the sun being out! Apparently you're not supposed to take pictures of the crown jewels, but they didn't make me delete them thankfully!!

Amazing place to visit! We had recently come from Ireland and to hear the different pieces of British and Irish history intertwine was really neat! I highly recommend paying the extra bit for the audio tour once you get inside. It helps give you a little bit extra that you can’t get from just reading all the signs. I also recommend getting there before noon so you have enough time to see everything!

It is a very cool experience. You get to step back in time, seeing things from a long time ago. There is a lot of history and information to read and take in, so many cool things.
I would recommend buying tickets in advance for 9am. I was dropped off at about 8:05 and was able to get some good pictures of the exterior of the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge. There are a few coffee shops around, so you can grab some coffee before the line opens. I got in line at about 8:30 and was towards the front.
I would recommend going to the Crown Jewels first as you will have a bit of space before the crowds decend on the attraction and there is a long wait. Even if you have a voucher for a guide book, I would get it after.
If you have a voucher for a guide book, the place is on the right hand side of the building, the audio guides are on the left. So, if there is a huge line on the left, don't worry, you can slip in and get the book. The books are in several languages, and there is a option for the kids book.

Hadn't been in around 20 years, was pleasantly surprised that there were many activities for both children and adults. The crown jewels exhibition is better than I remembered. Would recommend spending around 4h here in total.

If you visit London, you cannot say that you have been there if you have not visited the Tower of London. This is a wonderful fortress close of the Thames River, very well conserved, and has beautiful inner views. It is highly recommended to buy the tickets online because there are long lines of people waiting to buy tickets. I loved the place and highly recommend it.

A great day out. Its worth getting there for opening and going straight to see the Crown jewels. That way there will be minimal queues and you may get to spend longer in the crowns room than you would later on.
The rest of the Tower is great and an amazing deep dive in the English history. You really should go at least once in your life.
If you do everything it’s easily a whole day.

The Beefeater was an amazing host and we learned so much about this site. The Crown Jewels were fascinating and the structures themselves were absolutely stunning. Get the tour. Completely worth the fee. The views of the city skyline from this site alone are worth the price of admission.

I came for my second visit in a little under 50 years! I was in awe of the architecture of the building and at how deceivingly big it was inside. I came along with a local community group and we took a tour with Wayne, a resident Beefeater. He was incredibly knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour! After eating our packed lunch, we decided to take a look at the crown jewels. The queue was quite long but it moved pretty fast. As we were waiting, we were greeted with the amazing views around the tower grounds. It was a tad cold and windy but I'm sure it's beautiful in the summer.
Going in to see the crown jewels, I was a little disappointed at the way it was displayed. It was quite dark and sparse inside. The crowns themselves were amazing, such beautiful jewels.
I would have liked to take a bit more of a trip around the other areas but on a quieter day. That's the only thing I don't enjoy, too many people around.

Very very busy and beefeater guide was excellent even though there were hundreds in his tour. Learned such a lot from him. Queue long to see Crown Jewels but moves fast. Worth a visit as they are spectacular. My grown up daughter is fascinated by the ravens and she was introduced to the keeper of the ravens who kindly allowed her onto the forbidden green and take a raven for a walk!!!!! Made her day . Its strange what makes a sensible grown up woman's day!!!!!! My American visitors were just in awe about the age of everything and they thoroughly enjoyed their day too.

Really enjoyed visiting the Tower of London. I visited with my daughters year as a school trip, so unfortunately our look around was a lot more rushed than I would have liked, but loved what I saw.
Seeing the armor for the kings & horses, the weaponry & where torturing happened was great. Walking around the site where Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard, Jane Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey & others were executed & seeing the Traitors Gate where people would have come into the grounds & the towers where they would have been kept was brilliant. Seeing the Crown Jewels was amazing. They were so beautiful. The craftsmanship of the clothing, armour, jewelry, flags & tapestries was breathtaking. Seeing the guards on patrol was awesome & there are lots of people around who you can talk to and ask about the Tower to get more of a historical experience. There's an interactive room where you can get involved with things in there which was great and the chapel was beautiful.
There are some steep stairs and spiral staircases in places which some might find difficult, but all-in-all I really had a great time. Seeing as our visit was hugely restricted due to it being a school trip, I'd love to give back with my family for a whole day.

Wow, the Tower of London was even more incredible than I imagined! From the moment I walked through the gates, I felt transported back in time. The Yeoman Warders were fantastic storytellers, bringing the castle's rich history to life with humor and enthusiasm.
The Crown Jewels were, of course, a highlight – it's hard to believe they're real! But I also loved exploring the White Tower, wandering the medieval walls, and even spotting a few ravens (those cheeky birds!).
Whether you're a history buff or just looking for a unique London experience, the Tower of London is a must-see. Just be prepared to be amazed!
Tips for your visit:
* Get your tickets online beforehand to skip the queues, especially during peak season.
* Take advantage of the free Yeoman Warder tours – they're the best way to learn about the castle's secrets.
* Allow plenty of time to explore – there's so much to see and do.
* Wear comfortable shoes – you'll be doing a lot of walking.
I hope this helps! Have a fantastic time at the Tower of London!

Enjoyed my visit to the Tower of London. We did not have a long wait to see the Crown Jewels. Even though I have limited mobility I still enjoyed walking around the grounds; seeing the Crown Jewels and walking around the ground floor of some of the towers and generally just absorbing the hundreds of years of history at the Tower.
The iconic Tower Bridge, built in 1894, spans the River Thames and is a major tourist attraction in London. It's currently one of the London Bridge box girder style bridges, which was built from concrete and steel. The current bridge won't fall down any time soon!
It felt very safe, was beautiful history getting to see it. If you want to go here tell everyone you want to go to or get directions for the "tower bridge' or the drivers take you to a flat bridge that is also called the London bridge. Yep it happened to me so be more knowledgeable than I was.
Also a great little walk between the flat London bridge and the river with restaurants and coffee places. Very romantic little stroll ...London was amazing!!!

Firstly, although the staff were great at sorting me out when I didn't have a paper ticket and just one on my phone, it is not good that paper tickets are needed (and they printed mine out). In today's age and ecological crisis, paper should not be needed. They need to sort that.
There is no wheelchair access that I could see. Lots of stairs both up and down so be aware! There's also not a huge amount to see in the towers themselves. Considering this is not a free attraction, I would expect more.
Having said that, DO go to the engine rooms. That was excellent and informative. Well worth the trip.
Overall, just about worth it for the price. Don't make it your big trip of the day though. It's fun but short.

“Visiting Tower Bridge in London was an absolute delight! From the moment I set foot on this iconic landmark, I was captivated by its grandeur and historical significance. The majestic structure, with its towering towers and intricate Victorian architecture, truly exemplifies the architectural marvels of the past.
As I strolled along the high-level walkways, I was treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the River Thames and the cityscape beyond. The glass floors added an exhilarating touch, allowing me to marvel at the bustling traffic passing below my feet. It was an experience that made me feel both connected to the city’s vibrant energy and humbled by its rich history.
Inside the bridge’s exhibition, I was immersed in its fascinating story through interactive displays and informative exhibits. Learning about the construction and engineering feats behind Tower Bridge deepened my appreciation for this iconic landmark. The highlight, of course, was witnessing the bridge open up to let a passing ship through—an awe-inspiring moment that reminded me of its vital role in facilitating maritime trade.
The staff at Tower Bridge were friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and provide insights into its heritage. Their passion for the bridge’s legacy was evident, making the visit even more enjoyable.
Overall, my visit to Tower Bridge was an unforgettable experience. It’s a must-see attraction for anyone visiting London, offering a perfect blend of history, architecture, and breathtaking views. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply seeking a memorable experience, Tower Bridge will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.”

It's a must visit historic place in the centre of London. Very old and Iconic place. The beauty of the bridge can be seen from long distance. I feel everyone should get a ticket and must see the engine room along with the history of the tower from day one. There is a lot of information provided at the top of the bridge. When you walk on the glass way you will definitely get goosebumps. The place is always crowded so when you visit please make sure you have done the advance tickets booking as on arrival the queue will be quite long and you will end up waiting in line for an hour or more. If you want to take more pics and make reels better come early in the morning so it will be very less crowded. When you go inside the tower at multiple places washrooms are available. In short I must visit the place.

As one of the biggest attractions in London and a globally recognized symbol, it offers countless picture-perfect spots, whether capturing its silhouette against the skyline, witnessing its mesmerizing evening illumination, or simply savoring the grandeur of this architectural gem. With its remarkable history, striking design, and ample photo opportunities, Tower Bridge rightfully stands among the world's most celebrated and photographed attractions

Tower Bridge, standing just beyond the Tower of London, is more than just a bridge; it’s a journey through London’s heart. A short stroll across this iconic structure offers breathtaking views (yes, in a good way; enter Seinfeld reference) and a sense of history.
Crossing over the Thames, you’ll find yourself on a scenic walkway, a perfect vantage point for soaking in panoramic sights. From here, the Tower of London looms impressively, while the London Bridge and the sprawling cityscape stretch out beyond.
It’s a spot where the beauty of London is seen and felt. Tower Bridge is a inexpensive gateway to some of the most picturesque views.

It was a great experience to enter the Tower Bridge towers, go up and down the stairs and especially walk the two walkways above street & river level. The glass floors were really cool. They don't extend across all the way but only in the middle of both walks, and for people who don't like it there is a wooden walkway to the side so this is suitable even for the less daring. You get a great panorama from up there. The engine rooms also come with the ticket & you get to see how the bridge was operated in steam engine time.

The Tower Bridge. Now while there’s no cost to cross the bridge I would highly recommend purchasing tickets to go across up top. It’s well worth the steps. If you need to take a lift one is available but seeing the staircases, and all the factual, historical information they give you on the way up makes it all the more worth it.
We bought tickets for 13.30 and arrived a bit early, and the staff didn’t mind us getting in the queue. It was a bit long but moved very quickly, again you could take the lift or the stairs we chose the stairs (we were told there’s somewhere around 260 of them). As you walk up the stairs there are posts and placards that tell you all sorts of facts regarding the material that went into the bridge and other fascinating details. The wood creaking stairs only adds to the experience. Once at the top there’s a spot to rest even before going to the upper bridges.
You may think the entire upper bridge is “glass bottom” it isn’t, but each side does have a small section where if not to crowded you can even lie down and take a photo. You’ll walk all the way across one, down the other and turn around where then you can decide you next move.
Once down the stairs they send you off to the Engine Room which is also included and the gift shop. This alone has been such a worth while part of our visit, I would highly recommend it.

This review is for the paid attraction to go to the top:
Great view on one side. Tickets are much cheaper compared to other attractions, but that's not an excuse to throw in so many people into each batch. If the top was a bit less crowded, it would've been great.

Like many people I was also confused that this the London Bridge BUT when I visited I came to know that this is Tower Bridge. A marvel, gorgeous structure over the river Thames. The view is only good if you see it from a far distance. If the weather is good, you can walk across the bridge. There is a ticket to go up and if you are really interested to more about this deeply.

Another must visit in London. The most beautiful bridge in London I would say. Lovely pics from every angle.
Very busy place however you can do like we did and go very early to get pictures without hundreds of people behind us.
We had blue sky which made our visit a bit better despite the cold weather.
Be careful of people not following the signs which tell you which way to walk, a shame because it would make the crossing smoother.

The bridge not only offers spectacular panoramic views of London but also serves as a testament to the city's rich heritage. It's a photographer's paradise—every angle is postcard-worthy.

It’s one of the two iconic images everyone thinks of when they think of London, so of course you have to go see it when in London. We didn’t go into any of the special rooms or anything, we just took pictures and crossed the bridge itself. The shop at the end on the South bank was a bit simple with lots of generic London-themed souvenirs and nothing special. Definitely cross it if you can, but be prepared for the crowds of people with the same thoughts. Pictures of the bridge from the South-West side are best to avoid lots of the big skyscrapers in the background.

Fabulous views and reasonably priced. The mirror above the glass floor was a newer addition I hadn't seen before. Although taking the lift would have been easier we enjoyed the climbing the steps up reading facts along the way, it made the top a treat. Walking on the glass pathway is an unforgettable thrill, sending shivers down your spine as you take in the breathtaking views. It's important to note that this place is always bustling with visitors. To make the most of your visit, I strongly advise booking your tickets in advance. Arriving without pre-booked tickets might result in lengthy queues, which could mean waiting for an hour or even longer.

Good tour. I especially enjoyed seeing the engine rooms. If you are using the London City Pass, note that you have to stand in line as if you don't have tickets and will have the lowest priority to enter, behind school tours and those that made time reservations, which isn't possible with the City Pass.

It’s one of the most iconic bridges in London and it’s definitely worth a visit. You can cross the bridge for free on the ground level (where the cars are driving). But it’s also possible to go to the top of the bridge if you are willing to pay for it. You can enjoy a great view to either side of the bridge. It’s nice to cross the river as a pedestrian but if you find a bus that crosses there it’ll be just as good.

Tower Bridge in London is a must-see for travelers because it's super iconic and offers amazing views of the city. This big bridge with its towers and cool architecture is a sight to behold, especially when it opens up for boats to pass through. Plus, there are fun exhibitions to learn about the bridge's history. But sometimes it gets really crowded with tourists, especially during peak times, which can be a bit overwhelming. Also, there's an admission fee to go tower, so keep that in mind. In brief, Tower Bridge is totally worth a visit for its beauty and history

The behind the scenes tour is so worth the time and money! I'm an operating engineer so when we finally got down to the engine room to see the old hydraulic system they first used to lift the bridge, I was in my element! They had external portions of the machinery expertly preserved. Of interest, it was cool to see certain components on the machinery just like I see on modern machinery today such as Zerk Fittings for example. At least all the mechanical and engineering nerds like myself will enjoy that part! 😂
Of course, let's not take away from the breath taking views of the River Thames you get as you walk across the two higher level walking bridges above!
From top to bottom, you can almost feel a historic energy as you walk around reading about all the great men and women who funded, engineered, built, operated, and maintained this significant modern marvel and landmark of London!

A very nice venue to see a show. The seating is comfortable with good views all round and plenty of leg room. There's a little shop selling drinks and snacks in the foyer. Ideally situated in Hornchurch, close to restaurants and bars ideal for pre-show drinks and dinner. My only observation is that the ladies toilets could be better signed as we ended up using the disabled toilet as we couldn't find them. We found out after they were downstairs but there was no sign pointing that way.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra were brilliant yet again, they played some standard Glenn Miller arrangements but also played other arrangements not associated with Glenn Miller. We were welcomed by James at the entrance who had explained everything to us. As i was super nervous he reassured us its nothing too scary! He was extremely professional and he played his character so well. As for the experience. It was something unforgettable. As i am a huge fan of stranger things it was almost surreal to experience what they do in the series! All in all the experience was amazing id do it again ina heartbeat and James just made it 10 more unforgettable.

A great experience. It is not scary or claustrophobic. You get an hour to escape from various rooms. You need to be observant and try not to over think the clues. Very clean, free lockers too put you valuables, free parking outside or in Sainsbury's car park opposite (2 hours free parking) Everything is explained to you, and you also watch a short video. Had a brilliant time escaping the lawless frontier room. Really friendly staff, easy to follow instructions, great room set up. Would recommend and would definitely visit again! 👍

A great time had here. Although we didn't escape, (we were told we were only a few minutes away) it really got us working together and was great fun. Thanks to Dan for the help and making it so enjoyable. Will definitely come again and try another room.

First time coming to this one as I have visited their Romford branch.
Came here with my boyfriend for my birthday and was not disappointed!
We chose the Ancient Relics room and was greeted by a lovely woman - sorry if this is wrong but I'm sure she said her name is Emma?
She showed us the trailer for our room and immediately came out in character. She explained everything we needed to do/use.
This was a totally different concept to what I was used too - going into 4/5 different rooms but it was very cool to have different themed rooms.
Emma(?) prompted us on a few occasions and had some quirky comments throughout which was great. The acting was spot on.
We had such a great laugh and can't thank her enough for making it fun and it started my birthday day off just right!
Thank again and can't wait to come back!!

This experience was brilliant
My son and his friend really enjoyed escape room in Hornchurch. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hornchurch escape room is much better compared to the one in Romford as it has a waiting area and car park. When we arrived there were no spaces but a member of staff very kindly moved her car to let us park which was very helpful. Would definitely go back there !!!

George from Room Lockdown escape rooms is an absolute legend! His patience with our group as we tackled the escape room was truly amazing and highly appreciated. The 5 room's designs and puzzles were fantastic, and George's guidance and enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience. We had a great time and can't wait to return for another adventure. Highly recommended, all thanks to George!

Was my first time in an escape room and I loved every minute of it. The staff are so friendly and helpful walking you through how it all works and looking after you. The set up of the room/s that I did was so well executed and I simply can't wait to go back. Bloody brilliant.
UPDATE: Another game played and my second experience is just as positive. They are so welcoming and take care of you. This is gonna become a regular pastime.

Middle Farm is a delightful attraction for families with diverse livestock including sheeps, lambs, cows, chickens, baby chicks, rabbits, pigs, goats and horses. Additionally there are exotic species such as guinea pigs and rheas to observe. The farm features a hay barn where children can play and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Visitors can also witness the birth of a lamb and bottle feed them under the knowledgeable guidance of friendly staff members.
Had another lovely day at the farm. They don’t charge for under 3s unlike other farm attractions making this a really reasonable day out. Especially considering the events during the day such as animal feeding are included. You can also get really close up to the animals unlike godstone farm. The lamb bottle feeding is a real
Bonus. I’m surprised at the other reviews about this to be honest. Yes there’s a queue, but its
The only farm I know of where the children get to feed and stroke a lamb up close. And yes it’s a relatively quick feed but when they’re busy they can’t force feed lambs to give kids a longer go. There’s only so many sheep needing a feed! We never had an issue getting food for the other animals and didn’t have to pay unlike at other farms we go to. And in response to the other review about kids grabbing too much food, this was very much regimented when we went apart from a few kids whose parents just let them grab whatever they wanted. This is by far our favourite and the staff are all lovely and friendly. Would recommend to anyone for a family friendly day out.

Had a lovely time here with family and friends.
Children loved playing in the Hay amd seeing/stroking the animals.
Loved the range of cider to buy/try. The tea rooms was lovely, everything homemade, my only criticism is there was not much choice for vegans, only a vegan pasty. Which was very tasty.
All in all a great place.

A very nice farm with good food and nice little shops. We stopped here for lunch as part of a booked tour. Even though it was crowded, the service was great and we got the food without much delay. It was all very fresh and tasty food at very reasonable prices. This is a must visit spot (I'd say so even if it is just for the fresh meals). We tried a jacket potato, Cornish pasty, sausage rolls, quiche and some cakes. The coffee and hazelnut cake was superb. All of their food was excellent and served with fresh veggies.
We quickly browsed through the shops and were impressed. It was a little sad that we didn't get to spend more time here. This is indeed a must visit!

Had a lovely afternoon seeing the animals - sheep, lambs, cows, chickens, baby chicks, rabbits, pigs, goats, guinea pigs, rheas, llamas and horses. Great areas for children to play including the hay barn. Will definitely go back.

A lovely little working farm with access to all of the animals. Play areas are clean and well maintained.. all staff were lovely and happy, and very helpful! Shepherdess was so informative and friendly at a very busy lambing time! Coffee is simply the best!

Definitely a fan of Middle Farm. We often stop by to pick up a few treats from the Farm Shop/Deli and to grab a bite to eat in the cafe.
The breads, pasties and pies are great. I only wish they would provide a selection of readymade sandwiches/rolls in the shop, rather than having to use the Tea Rooms.
There is always a decent selection of plants and the array of Ciders is excellent. We occasionally visit the farm and have a peak at the animals but I never quite fully understand why adults have to pay to accompany their kids, especially after spending money in the tea-room or shop.
A trip to only use the playground with my daughter cost me £14 today. There has to be a fairer way. I'd already spent more than that for lunch.

Well stocked Farm shop, local ciders & tasting. Children's playground and hay barn to scramble around & trail walk. Annual lamb bottle feeding event & meet small animals. Easy parking.

The staff are Very friendly and the farm has a great selection of farm yard animals to see .loads of pigs snoring away and still quieter than the missus.
Llamas and goats were a hit without 2 year old grandson .
The tea room was good ,,the home made food was really nice .I had the ploughmans which was lovely and the wife had the ham and cheese quiche ,she enjoyed it satisfactuarly .
Only down point was the cola which wasnt the best.

Recently moved to Eastbourne and was looking for a nice place to shop for groceries. Found this while driving around the area. Lovely place with a huge selection of artisan and local products. Vegetable selection is massive and primarily locally sourced. They have chicken eggs and duck eggs from their own farm. So far my favourite place to shop for produce in this area. Nice place to get coffee too and had mulled cider in their cider shop. Plenty of selection, will be coming back here every week!

A good cafe, with reasonable prices, a farm shop, another shop selling many different types of cider and beer, some of which can be sampled, and some sort of area for interaction with farm animals.
All in all a good experience from the visit, my cream tea was best

This lovely shop is located on the road between Lewes and Rye. A variety of ciders can be tasted and wine is also available. In the farm shop you can buy snacks such as cheese, bread and pastries. There is also an animal park outside, which is a great place for all ages to relax and have a good time. 2 hours should be enough time to have a good time.

I used to come here when I was a kid so it’s been a while and was so lovely to visit with my 6YO. It’s just perfect for a day out with littles and so reasonable at £7per person with animals to see, lots of areas to play and they put on a day of events too! We really had the most lovely day arrived at 11 and didn’t leave til nearly 4pm! It’s great for adults too, a perfect balance: farm shop with amazing ciders and wines and gift shop with lovely bits, and then the plant nursery is just gorgeous, so reasonably priced and I really wanted to buy everything! Recommend a visit for sure!

I took my niece and granddaughter for a day out to Middle Farm, and there are aspects I don't like; I'm not happy seeing animals in cages and tiny pens, but the animals look well loked after. There's also no shade from the sun for some animals in the big fields.
The staff are always lovely and we had a nice couple.of hours there.
I love the tea room, the farm shop and all the others stuff they have there. It's just the whole animal in small enclosures that is upsetting. The young pigs are in stalls, desperate for interaction being the intelligent animals they are, it was just heartbreaking seeing them isolated and in concrete stalls.
Charleston, the former home of the Bloomsbury group, is a captivating destination for art enthusiasts and history buffs. The house boasts a beautiful old-fashioned cottage garden and a walled garden that exudes the essence of a painter's paradise. Visitors can immerse themselves in the rich history of the Bloomsbury Group through guided tours led by knowledgeable volunteers.
Charleston is a truly magical place. The tour of the house was excellent with knowledgable and friendly guides. You need do need to be on time as they have a very tight schedule. There’s a lovely cafe and shop and stunning gardens.

Anyone who grew up in a family of "artists" in an old, venerable house and has already had enough of old furniture and creaking floorboards should not go here. Anyone who is interested in a reasonably important family of artists and wants to get to know their roots and is willing to pay 20 pounds for it should take a look. I found the prices at the museum restaurant a bit outrageous. I paid €18 for two 0.3 liter bottles of beer and a 0.2 liter bottle of water.

A great place to visit, very interesting to get there at last. All the volunteers are both knowledgeable and friendly- I would highly recommend a visit. When we visited the Hockney exhibition was an added bonus. There is also a nice coffee shop, with generous indoor space as well as outdoor seating which I imagine would be nice in the summer.

If you have an interest in The Bloomsbury Group or simply the work of artists around the early 1900,s then this is the place to visit. Charleston House is a truly interesting and delightful place.
Currently the set up(as of October 2021) is that you book a time slot and volunteers are placed in each room of the house and give you a brilliant insight into the comings and goings of the Bloomsbury Group occupants. The house is spacious but not huge so naturally visitor numbers need managing. There is a walled garden, not massive but lovely never the less.
Cost was £20 pounds p.p. but that did include entrance to an art exhibition being held there. Car parking is free. Approach to the house is good and not muddy. I didn't feel you needed wellies or boots.
There is a very good cafe there serving light lunches and cakes, teas, coffee and drinks. Apparently they also run workshops as well.
I also read that they are only supported by entrance fees , cafe monies and volunteer groups. In my opinion these smaller places of interest are real jewels of our county.
Some "taster" photos shared.
P.S.
Small note but the sign for Charleston House sited on the A 27 is mainly obscured by trees and seems to be at an odd angle. We drove straight past it initially . Post code address for sat nav is pretty good. Once off the A27 signage was obvious. Web site said to watch out for side ditches upon approach but these seem to have been filled in now.

Idyllic place on a hot autumn day. The house which goes back to at least 16C is beautifully preserved as Vanessa Bell's home and centre of the Bloomsbury Group. The garden is the highlight, a riot of flowers and shrubs with a lovely large pond plus beautiful views of the Downs. Only the cafe didn't impress, dull cake and no atmosphere.
Sophie Ahmed — Google review
You got a real sense of how the Bloomsbury Group used to live and express their creative and intellectual talent.
The garden is beautiful and the cafe was an unexpected delight, the food is Italian inspired and truly outstanding, way above the standard of usual cafes at these type of places, definitely worth a visit just for the cafe!

Beautiful and interesting cottage. Everything (everything!) inside hand decorated by its artist occupants in the interwar period.
Lovely cafe and small, but well curated, gallery as well.

Nestled against beautiful Downland, the original house, which has been styled back to 1930s/40s retains it's simplicity while the outbuildings have been pleasantly and effectively developed with an exquisite gallery hosting temporary exhibitions of note, and a cafe. There are also picnic tables by the ample green moss car park.

If you follow me through social media then I'm gonna start talking about trauma and survival of it well all I can say is that this place is number one on my list of this to go somewhere and feel safe if and remember what it is to be young again, has a child.
I was very much into art because of my uncle Tony Lawrence I give thanks for his gift to me on my 5th birthday it was an art set, which was red, with all the colors of crayons it was by Crayola.
On the white broad, you have stencils on one side and smooth on the other side so you just draw. The set holds your paper as well as space for more equipment that one may need at that age.
I also remember the yellow ruler that slid alongside the tracks molded in the set. He never knew that that personally goes for yours gaslighted all my life by his very own brother!
Anyway back to Charleston house this place is an incredibly beautiful field of history and works of art that you would all recognize throughout your life.
I have to say the before the the tour began our initial guides person Peter, literally said that right words to me at that moment in time there is a special place with wonderful people and is a breath of fresh air away from the city this is why the Bloomsbury group chose this area where you can feel safe.
I literally have to walk away and burst into tears. I'm actually doing it right now so I'm writing.
Stories that took place within this home are amazing and I resonate with them and see a lot of people that stayed here interests in me.
Could you imagine me Inspector Gadget did I have a wire for my phone to charge fast enough today and it died only halfway through my tour, maybe that's the universe's way of saying b**** come back another time and take pictures or less is more!
Either way I will be coming back again this place is amazing as I need to see this summer.

Beautiful location. The house was not as I expected at all. It was absolutely charming with a pretty walled garden and a pond. The house had a very homely, comfy feel with lots of interesting and personal touches courtesy of the former famous tennants. The house is well preserved and the staff were very knowledgeable with lots of fascinating stories to tell. My only criticism is that the entrance fee to the house is a bit pricey.

Charleston House is an amazing work of art. Walking around the rooms of Charleston truly felt like stepping back in time, giving visitors the opportunity to see life through the eyes of the Bloomsbury Group. The space is gorgeous inside and out, and it’s easy to get lost in Charleston’s beauty; minutes quickly become hours while touring the property.
But beware - do not touch anything!! I absentmindedly placed my hand down on the kitchen table while learning about the history of the room and got told off by an employee (rules are rules, but it was an innocent mistake…). The café is a nice spot to visit afterwards. My almond croissant was delicious and my chai latte was quite good, although it had the strange aftertaste of a candle (in a good way?). All in all I had an amazing time at Charleston, and I would love to return someday!

I keep seeing references to this house and we finally visited recently. We were completely charmed. Everyone was so friendly and keen to share stories and information, and the decoration and paintings were wonderful. Lovely garden. Lovely walk up to the Downs directly behind the house, and a really first class cafe with mouthwatering focaccia and cakes. Good shop with quality souvenirs. Hope to be back soon.

Incredible house to visit. You'll be gobsmacked by the intimate liaisons of the different members of the Bloomsbury group. Someone should make a movie about it. When you go, make sure you chat to the lovely female staff in every room, they're incredibly knowledgeable on the history of the house and everyone that lived there through time

We booked tickets online. There is a large, free car park a short distance from the house. The house was really interesting, with very knowledgeable attendants. It felt like the Bloomsbury group had just stepped out and would be back shortly. The cafe was warm and the food was good. There were good toilet facilities. The David Hockey exhibition was fantastic.
Knockhatch Adventure Park is a family-friendly attraction that features a petting farm, owl sanctuary, waterslides, rowing lake and soft play area. The park offers ample parking on site and plenty of food outlets and picnic areas. While some rides require additional charges, tickets can be obtained at the gift shop. To accommodate busy periods during school holidays, visitors are advised to plan ahead to avoid long queues.
Really great day put. Seems expensive initially but so much inside to do. Staff are polite and area is really clean. Some rides are extra charge usually 4 or 5 quid but you must get tickets at gift shop, would be an idea to add contactless payment on rides. Expect to queue in busy times. Plenty food outlets and picnic areas. Ample parking on site. Really recommend Knockhatch as an around fun family day out.

One of the best parks I have visited in a long while, I have a 5 and 4 year old and there was so much to do.
There is such a large variety and even the food stalls where fair priced, my own constructive criticism is that there needed to be more readily available drinks sales stalls.
Fantastic day out and would highly recommend

Can get very busy now people know where it is. So plan ahead on busy school holiday days. We always have amazing fun here it’s just a shame some of the attraction is always closed. If you can get into the dragon castle it’s brilliant. Every part of this place is great to visit.

Me, my friend, my dad went to knock hatch. At first it seemed very expensive but when you go it’s worth it. The food was very good and I loved the soft play area. There were some very cute animals, and some wierd ones. Every ride I went on was, fun and adrenaline rushing. Unfortunately I did get a friction burn on one of the slides because I didn’t know you had to have a fully covered shirt. But that was all my fault. The slides I went on (all but red) were very fun, the games behind them were also fun. Although for some rides you do have to go to the shop to get a ticket, which will cost an extra 4 or 5 pound but it’s all worth it. The staff were very nice, friendly. I can’t wait to go there again with my friends, family and have an even better time every time I go!

Brilliant day out for younger children, very clean park and helpful polite staff. If you plan to eat here I would advise a packed lunch as for the price of things I would expect better quality food, burgers are microwaved and drink sizes are small compared to prices charged.
Other than this small detail a fun day out with lots to see and do - recommended.

We had so much fun on our visit to Knockhatch! Even as 2 adults we found so much to do and spent the entire day here. We absolutely loved the Sherlock experience, the rowing boats and highly recommend buying some animal food and feeding the many adorable animals around the park.

Fantastic day out. So much to do we couldn't fit it all in. Arrived at 0930. Got in the park at 10.00. Non stop fun & entertainment for our 2 grandchildren until we left at 1600. Food was very reasonable at £15. See photo. Paid £4 to go on the bungee trampoline which was fine. Most things are free but things like the go karts are a fiver. Entrance fee varies for orange or green days. We used Tesco vouchers & paid the equivalent of £10 per head X 4 on an orange day (everything open). Didn't get time to do the boating lake, crazy golf or the hen house. Will definitely pay Knock Hatch another visit. Loved the Sherlock Holmes experience. Made me jump a couple of times. Girls liked the Dino safari experience & Pirates Cove. Something for everyone.

The kids love it here ,adventure farm , great lay out , lots of parking . We took a group so paid under £20 per head ,
Drop slides and water slides favourite s , plenty of of covered areas to picnic and a range of play areas ,
A few things you always pay extra for , go karts , bouncy trampolines, mini diggers buy tokens on the way in .
Good selection of food outlets , but we always bring a picnic .
Needs another ice cream out let in centre .
We always love to feed the fish in lake , and get a rowing boat out .
A range of wonderful animals to see and bird of prey show worth a watch .
So good to see a local adventure park doing well and NOT pushing junk food on every corner.
My only grip the new pay game £2 a go ,Duck Derby is very noisy and in a covered picnic area , not a good move , this should be left to enjoy food with the family with out distractions and noise .
Parking free 🤩
Overall we love it here well done team 😎😎🌟🌟

Absolutely amazing, so much to do for both adults and children. Lots of animals, slides, go karts for younger and older kids, a picnic area to have your own food. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I learnt a lot about owls when we went. One criticism, it's quite expensive to get in, and for some rides, they then charge you again, like the go karts and the bungee trampoline. Great fun tho.

A very charming dock with many leisure options, lovely views. A good place to have a drink and watch the sunset, concerts or a good chat with friends. If you like to fish, many people do it from this pier. When we went we also found a small fair with attractions for children. At the end of the pier you can also see information about the pier and other types of things about everything that has to do with fauna, boats that are in the area. A must visit without a doubt

A nice place to take photos of the sea, hang around, have a snack or coffee. In the summer with mild or no wind it's a good place to see the Sun down. There are concerts from time to time on the pier. Car parks aren't far away. The beach has nice sands and just couple of minutes walk. The city center and train station is aproximately 15 minutes walk. Along the sea side road you'll find shops, restaurants, take aways and grocery stores.

A nice wide pier with plenty of room and some seating at the bottom.
Currently very empty with only a few rides at the entrance.
There's an upper viewing area with glass that's quite nice and shielded from the wind.
Great for taking photos from and you're able to see the " old " pier if you look over the end..
Dogs are currently allowed on the pier which is unusual. ( March 23 ).

But to the Beach itself i hate (don't like it) cause it is with that small stones.

PS: hear & feel the Noise of the Sea you will feel relaxed & calm

The Shepherd Neame Shop & Visitor Centre offers a diverse range of experiences for visitors. From Saffa Bru to Oceans Fish N Fry, and Rad Burger, there's something for everyone. The renowned Cinque Ports Pub on the seafront serves up Mexican-inspired dishes. Visitors can enjoy an evening brewery tour and a two-course set meal, learning about the brewing process and the company itself.
We had an excellent tour of the brewery led by Sarah. Tasting afterwards was most informative and enjoyable.

Had a great night, definitely recommend going.. had the tour and the meal.
Beer was lovely, Laura our tour guide was really good, full of information, and made us all feel very welcome.
The food was really nice, so yes, do give it a go.. I did it as a gift for my husband and we both really enjoyed it..

A nice selection of beer and merchandise. What a little disappointed that the whole range wasn't available - particularly the Strong Pale Ale - the brewery shop should really have good availability at all times.

Very interesting tour, Nick was a great guide. But the piece de resistance was the beer tasting. Really enjoyed it, hence the before and after pics

A very informative tour of Britain's oldest brewery. The tour guide made us welcome from the start and explained the whole brewing process and the history of the site. The tasting was great, and a tasty meal finished off a lovely evening. Well worth it!

I recently visited the Shepherd Neame brewery for an evening brewery tour and 2 course set meal. I would highly recommend this tour/dinner combination if you’re looking for something a little different. I learnt a lot of interesting facts about the process of brewing larger and ale but also about the company itself. We visited on a Friday and as no beer is brewed on that day, you can see the machinery up close without any workers around. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we finished the tour in the museum/ function room area which also shows off some old vehicles used for delivery back in the day! After the tour we were given a flight of beers to sample and a delicious two course set meal. Ours was chicken with risotto and asparagus followed by a fresh strawberry tart. Another free beer was included with the meal and the bar was open for anything else you may fancy.
All in all a lovely evening in a pretty town learning some new facts about the oldest brewer in Britain!
The tour is popular and would recommend buying way in advance, the menu appears to change with the seasons but all options looked lovely.

Nestled between two cliffs and accessible via funicular railways, Hastings Old Town is a delightful blend of traditional seaside charm and Tudor architecture. Visitors can explore the vibrant arts scene, browse quaint shops on George Street, and enjoy lively pubs on High Street. A shingle beach dotted with wooden fishermen's huts offers a picturesque backdrop for tourists who come to admire the Bluereef Aquarium or take in the sights at the Hastings Fishermen's Museum.

The Hastings Fishermens Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in the local fishing industry. The museum has a wide range of exhibits related to fishing, from memorabilia and photos to a 14-foot model of a 1514 ship. The surrounding area is full of friendly people, making it easy to explore the museums nearby.
A must-visit (if you’re into understanding a towns culture, heritage and history!). The care and attention that has gone into curating stories of Hastings over hundreds of years, photos, models, life size exhibitions and more besides. A wonderful tribute to the town. Wish we’d had a bit longer - spent about 45 minutes here, could be 60-90 depending on how much you want to take in. Be sure to leave a donation and don’t miss some of the outside info boards too.

Cute little museum focusing on the history of fisheries in the area.
It's quite small, but there's a fishing boat you can board and have a look around, and they have many fishing related items.
Worth a stroll around if you're in the area.

A lovely little museum right by the sea. We were left to explore at our own pace, which took us about 20 mins as we had a small child with us. You can climb on a boat and see sea animal specimens and there’s lots of local history. There’s parking behind it which was vast, £2.20 for an hour or £4 for two hours. Great to sign the visitors book and see where other visitors where from! A small gift shop on the way out and friendly staff. I wouldn’t say it was worth a trip into hasting to visit but definitely great as something to do as part of a bigger day out!

Hate to say it but had low expectations but a decent little museum. Nice history about the local industry and you discover the secret of how the boat got inside the building !
Free entry but please make a donation or make a purchase at the gift shop.

An interesting collection of seafaring ephemera with a traditional fishing boat in the middle of the museum. A superb collection of photographs taken around the boats and people on the shores of Hastings from the early 1900s. Worth popping in to see them, alone.

We had been in Hastings to visit and decided to go in, mainly as it was free. Great decision. Managed by volunteers, it's a great history of fishing in the area. Really interesting and I was surprised to spend so long looking around. Make sure to watch the rescue video, a real example of community coming together. And amazed they had that boat inside!

Part of a group of attractions in Old Hastings, the Fisherman's Museum is dedicated to the fisherman of Hastings, depicting their life across the centuries. Outside the museum is a collection of fishing boats, a fisherman's cottage - made out of a boat cut in half - along with the reconstructed net huts used to dry the fishing nets.
Situated near to where the modern day beach fishing fleet is launched, the museum is free to enter - although donations are welcome. Around the boat inside is accessible for visitors in wheelchairs, along with a wing added with models of ships and details about fishing.
The centrepiece of the museum is a fishing boat named The Enterprise, with steps up onto the deck and viewing panels to see inside the fishing boat. This is not accessible for wheelchair users, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Although others have posted videos from inside the museum on Google Maps, there is a not on one of the walls stating that only personal photographs are permitted.
Outside though, there is plenty of opportunities to video the fishing boats, shack and huts.
There is a small gift shop inside the museum, but for refreshments there is a café beside the Hastings Aquarium and others in the area.
Parking is the local car park at Rock-a Nore.

Great little museum, with lots of artefacts, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and free to enter. Accessible for pushchairs and wheelchair users. Some lovely little souvenirs are available to buy too. Definitely worth a visit

Small but very interesting museum. I really liked looking at the old black and white photos of the fishermen and their families.
Bill B — Google review
Lovely small museum on the lives (and deaths) of fishermen in the area. Hastings was an important fishing port back in the day, and this place offers a fascinating glimpse into its history, albeit often tragic. There are countless items to explore, most of them donated by local people over the years. Heart and centre of the exhibit is an original fishing boat, but there are numerous tools, memorabilia, newspaper articles and historical photos to see. Entry is free, you're welcome to take photos, please leave a small donation before your departure. When in Hastings, this place is a must. Hastings Contemporary (art gallery) and the Shipwreck Museum are close by, too.

Lovely museum to remember ways of living in the past on board ship. Well worth a visit as there is no entry fee but donation are welcome. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the items on show. The museum is in an old church with some of the stained glass windows still present. There is lots of exhibits especially the old ship in the centre of the room. This place is suitable for all ages

The Canterbury Tales pub is a welcoming and relaxing place with an open log fire, serving traditional English ales and cocktails. The attraction features animatronic tableaux that bring the sights, smells and sounds of 14th century Kent and Canterbury to life. It's an excellent way to learn more about one of the world's most famous collections of stories.
Got to experience folk music at its finest. Quaint bar worth a visit

Wondered into the Canterbury tales pub as just a stones throw from the marlowe theatre. Several pumps had run out so not much choice of beers. Pub was completely dead. Looked like the gents toilets was out of order so a bit of paper on the womens said unisex toilets. Was really cold inside the pub and smelt of dogs.

One of the oldest and most important churches in England, Canterbury Cathedral is visited by millions of people each year. With rich history dating back more than 1,400 years, the cathedral contains some beautiful historical collections and is home to the Church of England. The main attraction is the crypt which was about to hold a wedding when it was visited.
Amazing experience. So much history and experienced guides who delight in imparting this history. We took a break after an hour or so and went for refreshments. Came back and spent another couple of hours there, a good way to see the Cathedral if you have time. Ticket allows you to return again during the year of issue, excellent value.

Sadly on this visit could not go inside the main cathedral because of a private event we could only go to the crypt and the gardens but for a mere £5 it was worth it. You still get to see the stunning architecture of the cathedral from the outside and the crypt has lots of great things to see with such a stunning herb garden. I would recommend that you always check for events before you have you heart set on seeing the cathedral just in case but this was still a lovely option!

Canterbury Cathedral is an absolute marvel of architecture and history, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment you set foot on the grounds, you are transported to another time and place, surrounded by stunning Gothic architecture and steeped in the rich cultural and religious history of England.
Every detail of the cathedral is breathtaking, from the intricate carvings and stained glass windows to the soaring vaulted ceilings and meticulously maintained gardens. The sense of peace and serenity that permeates the cathedral is truly awe-inspiring, and I found myself completely absorbed in the beauty and history of the place.
The knowledgeable and friendly staff are a testament to the cathedral's commitment to hospitality, and their willingness to share their expertise and passion for the cathedral's history and significance only adds to the overall experience. Whether you are a history buff, a religious pilgrim, or simply a lover of architecture and beauty, Canterbury Cathedral is an absolute must-see destination. I cannot imagine a more perfect way to spend a day than exploring this magnificent cathedral and all that it has to offer.

Beautiful and ancient cathedral. Stunning stained glass windows.. the cathedral is easily accessible from London and a high speed train takes you to Canterbury in about an hour. The cathedral is easy walking distance from the train station and an easy day trip to cover most of the town. Right now there is a quaint little Christmas market in the city Centre that’s fun to visit.

We were a bit unsure about buying tickets to enter, but trust me, it's totally worth it! 😊 It's not just the church you get to see; it's the entire surrounding area, including beautiful gardens. Inside, you'll find unique pieces of history displayed in the crypt and picturesque ruins of the former monastery. It took us about an hour and a half to explore everything fully. Plus, it's a UNESCO World Heritage site! 🌟🏛️

Enjoyed the day roaming around Canterbury city center and Canterbury Cathedral. Although we had visited before, this time we went for our 1st boat trip around the canals. Really enjoyed the canal trip. Also enjoyed walking through the Free Libary and Art Gallery in the Oldest building. Enjoyed the Pubs and had a fab meal. Most people & staff were very friendly.

I beautiful old cathedral built in the Romanesque style. It is 1000 years old and absolutely amazing. The acoustics are incredible. A choir was singing and we could hear the songs even in the crypt. The don’t build them like this any more.
The cathedral has great history (even a grisly murder) and famous people buried within.
You approach the castle through the town of Canterbury, which has lots of shopping and food options. The town and cathedral draw a lot of traffic, so be prepared to wait in the weekends. We rented a car and made the drive ourselves and it wasn’t bad but if the thought of driving on the wrong side of the road isn’t appealing, there are many tour groups who go to Canterbury.
The trip was fun and I would recommend a visit.

A very grand cathedral and easy access for anyone, dog friendly and you pay once and can go free for an entire year. You can buy tickets on entry. Under 18s are free to enter. There's grounds around the cathedral which are nice to have a walk around with it usually being fairly quiet. The streets around the cathedral are slightly busier but filled with cute shops and independent restaurants.

Canterbury Cathedral is an awe-inspiring historic masterpiece that truly takes your breath away with its remarkable architecture and profound sense of history. Stepping inside its ancient walls is an experience that transcends time, leaving you with an overwhelming sense of wonder.
The cathedral's architecture is nothing short of amazing. Its soaring spires, intricate stained glass windows, and meticulously carved stone details are a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the builders who created this sacred marvel. Every corner of the cathedral holds a piece of history, and the Gothic and Romanesque elements blend seamlessly to create a visually stunning masterpiece.
Walking through the cathedral's hallowed halls and cloisters is an experience that words can hardly describe. The weight of centuries of history presses down on you, and you can't help but be moved by the sense of reverence and spirituality that permeates the air. It's a place where time seems to stand still, and you can't help but feel a profound connection to the past.
I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Canterbury Cathedral to anyone who has the opportunity. It's not just a place of worship; it's a living testament to human achievement and spiritual devotion. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply seeking a moment of reflection, Canterbury Cathedral is an absolute must-see. The feeling you experience when you walk through its old walls is truly unbelievable, and it's an experience that will stay with you long after you've left.

An absolutely beautiful cathedral riddled in such significant history! The staffers at the visitor center are so helpful and kind. Purchase a ticket there (you have to top up £5 for an audio guide) before you head in to the cathedral.
The cathedral itself has plentiful stain glass windows and a direct link to how the England church was born.
Do note that while strollers/buggies are allowed inside, there are still quite a number of stairs around which require you to carry your stroller/buggy up/down.
The crypt was closed in the morning so we went for lunch nearby and came back just in time for it to be open. Photography isn’t allowed in the crypt.

Visited Canterbury Cathedral on a sunny day, January 16, 2024. Paid £17 for an adult ticket, opted for the full experience. Noticed ongoing restoration work, a testament to preservation efforts. The cathedral boasts extensive history; dedicated a few hours to explore, amidst the grey surroundings. The sound of someone playing the organs added a sublime touch, enhancing the overall experience.

Beautiful cathedral. It’s undergoing a lot of renovation work currently and there are some interesting updates on this around the building. It’s not a very serene space as there are lots of tourists around and about but it is still a vast and impressive space. Be warned lots of steps, it’s quite cold even in the summer and it is very expensive to get in

Beautiful Cathedral! I was here for a ceremony so didn't get a chance to explore the building but the main sanctuary is beautiful. Quick note, there are no toilets in the Cathedral but they have a very clean washroom in separate building just 3 minutes from the entrance.

Such a stunning Cathedral. We spent around 3 hours inside, there is so much to see and admire. In the Crypt no photos or videos are allowed, and it's a silent prayerful space. One can take photos in the rest of the massive cathedral.
There is only a small kiosk for coffee and tea on the property, but so many restaurants and Coffee shops are very close.
The Cathedral is undergoing constant restoration and maintenance, parts of it outside were covered by scaffolding. There are some beautifully restored, clean walls where the workmen have already done their magic. The cathedral requires £18,000 per DAY to run, so donations are welcome.
Liesel Teversham — Google review
The cathedral is nice looking and the grounds are well maintained. Inside the cathedral the guides are not proactive and don't share information on the site unless prompted (a lot). The day of our visit we saw students graduating, surrounded by their very proud parents. The atmosphere was a little chaotic and but I am sure that this is not usually the case. Whilst viewing an exhibit, there was a fire alarm, I asked the guide if we should leave and where the muster point was. She didn't have an answer. I made the call to evacuate. The fire alarm stopped sounding, so we went back to touring the cathedral. About five minutes later, the alarm sounded again. At this point another of the cathedral's guides came running in and shouting "get out, get out!". The tourists began running. My children were very scared. We CALMLY walked out and when we (again) asked where the muster point was, was told to follow the crowd (!) Unbelievable. We waited until the alarm went off and then when the crowds started piling back in, we asked a guide if we could return. She looked around and said: "I guess so". Upon entering the cathedral, we saw the guide who incited the panic and reminded him that panic causes more accidents. He informed us that the way he behaved this was company protocol!
The rest of the visit was spent viewing the cathedral and using Google as my guide. Definitely not worth the money. Particularly, as the staff are not trained in what to do and how to behave in emergencies.

Canterbury is a place where history and modern life coexist harmoniously. It’s a journey through time and a delightful destination for anyone seeking a taste of old-world charm in the UK.
Beyond the cathedral, the city’s cobbled streets and medieval buildings create an enchanting atmosphere. The Canterbury Tales attraction brings Chaucer’s tales to life, and you can explore the medieval architecture of Westgate Towers.
Finally, Canterbury’s friendly and welcoming atmosphere makes it an ideal destination for travelers seeking both history and contemporary experiences. Whether you’re wandering its ancient streets or enjoying a meal in one of its charming restaurants, Canterbury invites you to savor the best of the past and present.
Punting tours in Canterbury often take you past several iconic landmarks, including the stunning Canterbury Cathedral, historic buildings, and beautiful gardens.
Highly recommended place to visit!

Unmissable experience for first time visitors, it's no coincidence that this has been a site of pilgrimage for over a millennium.
The cathedral with it's iconic mixture of centuries of building styles is worth the price of admission on its own, and the daily services, performances and special events make return trips well worth it.
Note that an admission ticket is good for a full year.

The cathedral is enormous and I could easily of spent the whole day there as there is so much to see.
Thomas Becket,The Black Prince and the influence of William of Normandy and many others give this cathedral a long and very rich history.
It is a working cathedral and its open for various services and also for private reflection and prayers.

Fabulous historic cathedral (see Thomas Becket) plus plenty of interesting memorials to curious people. Monument to Becket is striking. Stained glass and cloisters beautiful. Tea shop was closed by 4pm (so no comment and no comment-err? Such a British tradition to close doors to cafés when visitors are in greatest need) but the visitors’ shop was open and had good stuff.

I think the entrance fee can be off-putting to a few people. However, you can go back as many times as you like for a year, so it evens out. We live near Canterbury, so now have the year's pass.
How many times do you want to visit the same place? I thought that, but each time we go, you see something different. Also, there are a number of very knowledgeable guides there. One of these, Michael, gave us a real insight of a specific time/part of the Cathedral. Very interesting.

The Port Lympne Reserve in Lympne near Hythe is a wildlife park home to some fantastic animals from tigers and elephants to gorillas and big cats. You can stay overnight in one of the safari-themed hotel suites, cabins or treehouses on site. Absolutely brilliant day out. No queues anywhere, lots of well kept animals, really lovely setting and a great safari ride. The walking route was quite long which was fab. We were there for 5 1/2 hours and still didn’t quite make it around everything. Highly recommend.

We weren’t sure what to expect before arriving there as it was our first time. But we had a great time there. The one hour truck ride was fun and different as no other places that we’ve been to do this. We managed to see many animals on the tour. We also walked around the park to see the animals up close and we weren’t disappointed as you can see from the photos. The park is very well kept and clean too. Staff are friendly. Highly recommended for families with young or old children or even adults.

We have just got home from a day at a safari. Park and grounds are beautiful and well kept. Animals seem happy and well looked after.
We booked the Safari and have been on a few safari type experiences in the UK. This by far, was the most boring. We barely see any animals and when we did most were at a great distance except for the giraffes. It was a glorified taxi service around the grounds.
If you are a wheelchair user or buggy user then forget it! It’s all uphill and lots of stairs to climb. I can imagine children getting very tired.
The food and drinks were ok and overpriced.
All in all, we had a good day. But there are far more interactive experiences with animals around the UK at a similar price. I feel even some zoo’s you get a closer look at the animals. We won’t be returning.

Though it has wheelchair access and parking, not all of the areas are wheelchair friendly. We had to ask for the mini bus to pick us up and take us to places. There are buggies, but they were fully booked. It was a hot day, so some animals were keeping inside to stay cool.
There are a few places to eat and get ice cream or drinks. It also has a play area for children.

Spent a day here and had a private party with a safari and afternoon tea for a friends 60th birthday. What a fabulous day we all had. We were greeted with tea and shortbread in our private function room which was beautifully decorated. Then we moved on to our safari and we had Charlie as our ranger, who I must say was superb. His knowledge about that animals was amazing and very interesting. Our whole journey was presented with passion for the animals. Charlie made the experience wonderful. Then we went back to our private room and had a very delicious afternoon tea. The service was also fantastic for this part of our experience. Would highly recommend this place and would return in a heartbeat.

Stayed in the Pinewood pods for a night. Facilities were great, immaculately clean, and well heated. Food is not cheap, but very nice.
A great zoo if you enjoy looking at big cats and gorillas. Only downfall was that some of the zoo is off-limits to pedestrians, and some enclosures can only be seen on the safari. Additionally, we could not view the leopard enclosure as it was gated off for leopard creek guests and animal encounter guests only, which was slightly disappointing.
However, the zoo is clearly well maintained, and the animals well looked after. I’d definitely stay here again.

Stayed at Lion Lodge overnight and wow, what an experience.....
The lodge was pure luxury and being able to sit next to the lions was amazing.
All the staff were so helpful and friendly and made this a truly memorable time.
Also booked a AAA Safari - this is highly recommended. Will, our ranger, was so knowledgeable, funny and friendly. The real highlight for me was hand feeding the black rhino and stroking the white rhino.
A most enjoyable 2.5 hours roaming the reserve.

The Safari was such an enjoyable experience for all of us, suitable for all age. Some of the animals have a spacious natural ground to explore around, I suppose similar to their natural habitat. So don’t think of this park like an ordinary zoo please.
The restaurant’s interior was most fond by me, 30-40 for two adult plus a child which is acceptable. Applause for the chefs here, the beef burger and lamb kofta were absolutely amazing!
Great (free) parking space, though the extended grass parking could be very muddy and splashy around the wheels after the rain.
The staff were lovely and polite, attentive and happy to offer info to new visitors. A good selection of souvenirs.

We didn't stay here as we live fairly near by. We had the most incredible day. The dinosaur forest is incredible and the best thing ever for any Dino loving life ones. The safari is great, bumpy but, very informative and it's lovely to hear about the reintroduction of animals into the wild. If you do go on the safari, try to sit on the left!

Amazing wildlife park, so professional and well kept, animals have vast well thought out enclosures. They breed and return animals to the wild to their natural habitat to repopulate endangered animal communities. Recommend paying extra for the close encounters. We fed the gorillas and it was magical. The park is set in beautiful countryside, with views to the sea

Wow!!! Port Lympne Safari Park is amazing!! We had the best day here. So much to see and the safari is so good. We got very close to the giraffes and our guide was very knowledgeable. What I will say is the safari park is built on a hill so make sure you wear comfy footwear. The grounds are beautiful. With the gardens and the orangery you will have plenty of photo ops. The accommodation looks amazing and we are absolutely going back to stay!

Wonderful day out with my fiancé here! The AAA safari was incredible with our guide Casey bringing the whole tour to life with his extensive knowledge of all things animal related.
We were able to feed the Rhinos and Giraffe and could not have been happier with the overall experience. Before hand, we were able to walk the ground a little ourselves and see some of the animals who all looked in great condition and well fed! This place truly loves their animals and keeps them in great health and perfect living conditions.
Can't wait to go back.

Had a stay at Port Lympne for my husbands birthday and they have been nothing but exceptional the whole time. They allowed me to drop my husbands present down a week early with some decorations and a cake to decorated our wigwam helped advice us on the best animal experience and time to take the safari and alway on hand to answer questions on the animals. Food in the garden restaurant was amazing! Big shout out to Amy down at the gorilla for spending 30minuets with us answering questions and telling us about all the girls in the cage! Thank you to Candy for the best experience with the white rhinos! The team from start to finish went above and beyond! Will recommend to anyone who will listen! Will definitely be back!

Had an absolutely fab weekend away to celebrate some birthdays. The service is fantastic, the staff was so friendly and made us feel so welcome and special each step of the way. The accomodation is great value, we stayed at the Bear Lodge and it was lovely. The safaris were so educational and you get one for each night of your stay so we made the most out of it! I could honestly have spent a whole week here exploring and trying out the different activities! We'll definitely be back and I've recommended it to everyone!

This is a review of the Reserve . No one likes to see animals in captivity but at least here you know that the philosophy behind the Reserve is all good . The Aspinall Foundation does great work in conservation and getting animals back in the wild . This it was doing long before it was trendy to care about wildlife .
It's great to know that the admission fee helps support the good works of the Foundation.
As a destination it's a lovely place for a day out . Set in a great location with wonderful views .
The ' big house ' and gardens would be a nice destination even without the associated animal reserve.
There seems to be plenty of facilities to eat and drink , or picnic if you bring your own food .
All in all a great day out .

We stayed here overnight in a small hut 🛖 in the pinewood area. The hut had two normal beds and a fold out futon, adequate lighting and a few sockets one of which powered a small oil filled heater. We really loved our accommodation.
Some people commented that they couldn't sleep because of the loins roaring, but when the door is shut you can't really hear them.
The park itself is fantastic. All of the animals came out to see us, so there was no lack of things to see. We also did a safari trip on one of the troop carriers they have and that was brilliant too.
The whole site is built onto the side of a hill, so if you go around and see everything, be prepared to do a lot of climbing to get back to the top.
There are two restaurants on site which you will have to book early for but the food is lovely (if not rather expensive).
Overall we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back here again!

Just back from a lovely day out . The car park was smaller than we thought and the staff explained that in the winter months no one parks on the grass , but in the summer months many more spaces are available. This place was amazing, right at the start was greeting by a friendly boy in the gift shop who helped as with all of our questions.
We had booked the safari which was very interesting and great as you got up close to most of the animals. Well worth the £6 per person for the hour on safari. So much to see and do in this reserve , will definitely be coming back again .

Fantastic day at Port Lympne. I was amazed how knowledgeable the lady that took us on the safari was.
I would 100 per cent recommend. The safari took about an hour. Driving round at about 5mph. Information on all animals and the zoo. The ride was very comfortable and the animals are clearly seen. Some animals standing around in front the truck very funny.

More than expected. From the start the staff were friendly and helpful. The park was muddy and a lot of walking was involved, but we don't have mobility issues so this was fine.
1st class service. Beautiful park with well cared for animals. Good project to support. It was the little details that made it perfect. Would recommend to anyone that can walk well.

Absolutely enjoyed my time here. It was a lovely experience to see the animals, especially the tour which they provide taking you closer to the giraffes. someone from our group touched the giraffe which made one of a staff a bit sentimental. she kept bringing the topic out during rest of the safari to make her point.
Driving the gold cart was fun. the restaurant near the entrance was absolutely fantastic. overall, if you love animals than i would definitely recommend to go there. Best to take your kids and not at summer time. there were no air cons at the outdoor cabin which can make kids a bit hot tempered.
i will visit again under pleasant circumstances.

Myself and my partner went here for a day out and had the most amazing time. The safari is a must, for no extra cost, it was great to see so many different animals in such a massive amount of space. It lasted around an hour and we got to get some nice close ups of some of the animals. The zoo itself is very big and there's lots to see although it was tiring with all the hills. The gardens were also very beautiful and great to have picnics or to take a break.
Sometimes it was a little confusing knowing where we could walk, as you would have the buggy only pathways and the map didn't have the full list of animals on there, which would have been nice. The location was not very tourist friendly if you're not driving in, we are from Birmingham so found it hard to get there by bus from our hotel and did have to walk quite a distance to get to the park.
Overall, the zoo is definitely one to go and see and we had a wonderful day.

Stayed for 2 nights at the Tiger Lodge all the family were super excited to see the Tiger.
We stayed here as part of a special holiday after a bereavement of a parent
Port lymph contacted us the day before we left to inform us that the safari experience that we had booked would be cancelled on the Thursday due to bad weather conditions and made arrangements to move the experience to half an hour after we checked in on the day of arrival this was all super efficient and a great experience
However what they failed to say was that the tiger would be locked away due to the bad weather for our whole visit apart from the last 4 hours before we left!!!
The staff on reception were very informative and helpful but nothing seemed to follow through with bookings we had made
There was just a lack of ‘finishing touches’ which would have made the holiday
I don’t think I would recommend

My son and I have returned from a night and two days at Port Lympne. We stayed in Leopard Creek in one of the huts (most beautiful hut I have ever seen!). We have had a fantastic time. The animals are fascinating and have so much space and care - they seem so happy and content - and the devotion to the animals from all the team is clear. And that’s what put shine on the trip - every single person working at the Park was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Had an amazing time.

Very cold wet and windy day to be visiting. Lunch at the Garden Room was one of the best roasts we have had. Highly recommend the beef followed by apple crumble. Well priced and a lovely setting. Service was good, a little slow at times but a busy Sunday lunch so to be expected. Kindly accommodated us earlier than scheduled. Thank you, will be back to explore in the warmer months. Great day out for both couples and families. The guide on our safari was very knowledgeable and friendly.

I visited here for as was staying nearby for my birthday and loved it. Great zoo, we did the safari truck tour and the two staff members were great so glad we did it as saw more animals. The reserve itself is massive and loads options if you wanted to stay! Great for walking lovers. Reasonably priced and could have stayed even longer. Recommend to all visiting. Thank you.

We didn't stay at port lympne, we went on a day trip as we were staying in Rye and it's only half an hour away. It was a fantastic day, we took my 2 year old son he absolutely loved it, the enclosures are very large and the variety of animals on show is great. I'd definitely recommend doing the safari tour as well, it's a little extra when buying the ticket, it's well worth it, we had a lovely and informative host this took in total about an hour. I would say food even though it was very nice in the park, is very expensive. Also if you have a young child bring a buggy due to the sheer size of the park, if you have any mobility issues walking the park could be a problem, but you can rent a buggy for the day which id recommend. Overall a great day and for me the best zoo/safari park in the UK and we've been to many of them.

We had an absolute memory of a lifetime experience staying in lion Lodge. it was absolutely incredible the Lions were right up to our window face to face Close, remarkable. the actual Lodge accommodation was truly five star and we were treated in such an amazing way as if we were really special it's a memory that will stay with me for a lifetime. the actual Safari Park is really good it's large and the work they're doing is excellent we did the safari on the trucks sadly it was raining but we still saw lots and lots of animals. the only thing I would say is we had pizza delivered to the room which was extraordinarily expensive but that would be my only gripe. I highly recommend it if you ever get the chance to stay at Lion Lodge it really really is worth the investment.

Absolutely fantastic day out from start to finish. We went on Safari with our Ranger (Will) who was brilliant and we saw some incredible animals, we were very lucky as there was only 2 other people in the vehicle so it really felt like a personal experience. Will's knowledge of all the animals and their personalities was second to none he gave an excellent experience and was an absolute star not to mention had a great sense of humour too. Every member of staff was extremely helpful and friendly, all the places to eat were great and the food was extremely tasty and restaurants were kept very clean and tidy even though is was very busy. We had an enjoyable 2 night stay here to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We stayed in a shepherds hut which was very comfortable and cosy. We had the opportunity of a log burner inside or an outdoor chimnea, neither of which we took advantage of (but a lovely added touch).
Our cabin was a fair distance from the restaurants and other places but the addition of a golf cart made it an even more enjoyable stay. The golf cart was big enough to carry all our luggage and the 2 of us (they also had larger ones for larger parties).
The safari was OK but personally I enjoyed the ranger tour a lot more. The Safari allowed us to see many animals but felt very much like they had to be back in time to do the next trip. The Ranger tour was a lot more relaxed with the opportunity to ask questions and take many more photos. (It probably helped that there were only 4 of us on this tour).
All in all a very enjoyable stay with the added bonus of knowing the animals, both on site and in their natural environment, are being cared for and protected for future generations.

Spent a lovely day here at the Reserve. We started with a safari drive around an off limits part of this 600 acre park. After a sandwich and coffee at Base Camp we continued on the walking part of the park taking in a Gorilla scatter feed and talk. An excellent day out but beware there is a LOT of walking with some steep inclines.

Amazing. My partner and I had a great day out. The glory of the park has no comparison. Zoos don't come close to this for animal welfare, habitat and experience. Can't recommend highly enough.

Port Lympne is amazing with beautiful grounds. The stay is great however very expensive for what you get included. You are unable to get into your accommodation until 3 then have to leave by 11 which seems so little time in the accommodation as you are exploring the park and eating dinner.
You do get a golf buggy but it is not allowed around the whole park which is a shame and there is a few animals that you are unable to see unless you stay in that part of the park totally unfair for all paying guests.
It's so expensive and doesn't include breakfast which is £18 per person and small portions.
Overall great place however over priced for what you get.

If you book a safari and are late by two minutes you miss your jeep. We had arrived about ten minutes before our slot but the queue to get in took too long. Total disappointment. Drove all the way from London. They send hundreds of marketing emails but nothing to highlight you need to be early for the safari. Waste of time and money. won't be back. The walk about part is really nothing special. Other places do that much better. Walked around in about an hour and a half. No real wow moments. No giraffes on foot trail.

Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway is a tourist attraction located in New Romney, Kent that offers visitors the opportunity to explore the scenic coast and countryside through walks and visit medieval churches. The railway also features steam and diesel locomotives with four stations. Visitors can purchase tickets for £23 per person, or opt for an exclusive experience by booking the Royal Saloon for up to eight people at an extra cost of £70.
Had a great day out on the little trains. Spent time in New Romney and Dungeness. Enjoyed the model railway and enjoyed spotting lots of different trains. Would recommend wrapping up warm if travelling in the open carriages.

Came here for a footplate ride experience, I was scheduled to ride along with Phil on Southern Maid and I found it to be the most therapeutic and awesome experience I've ever had! Beautiful scenery, wonderful people, lovely memories and a complete joy of a day.
I highly recommend that anyone with a flare for railways give this a visit and definitely if you can hop on the footplate, it's an experience to not be missed!
Will definitely come again!

An excellent day out. Timing for lunch at the Britannia is good if you plan, not many trains running in June. Bear in mind, carriages are small, 1/3 size, so can be cramped if you are large or tall. Comfortable enough for the journey. Reasonable value when you consider that unlike Network Rail there is no tax payer subsidy.

One of the best experiences of my holiday. Very realistic mini train ride concept, complete with stations, bridges, and level crossings. The driver took great pride in his well maintained engine, and it functioned perfectly as we whizzed through little villages and bits of countryside. Food shops and toilet facilities were also available, as well as souvenir items for purchase at each stop.

RH&DR is a unique experience in the whole UK, possibly the World. Beautifully engineered and presented miniature steam locomotives power long trains of coaches at speeds up to 25 MPH over the 13 1/2 mile line.
They have a wonderful run along single track to Romney Sands and Dungeness loop, and a double track "Main line" between other stations on the line.
What more could you want?
To drive of course... well you can do that too with their driver experience days. Thoroughly recommended.
Paul Hicks — Google review
Worth going upstairs to see the model railway which is very sweet, with plenty of buttons for children to press, really entertaining tiny details and quirks (furry rat on the line!) The little locomotives stop at red lights, disappear in tunnels and reappear. Bit dusty but well loved by volunteers and something for all ages in here.
Emma Nugent — Google review
Absolutely wonderful little but long miniature railway. The trains are a third of standard size but you can still sit in them and travel for an amazing 14 miles across the Romney Marsh. Several trains operate on most days too so you’ll pass the others at speed on the double track section or at stations. It is worth spending time at New Romney station to visit the model railway and new history exhibition up towards the signal box. The end of the line at Dungeness is a fascinating but bleak unique place with its endless shingle, nuclear power stations and lighthouse that you can go up. You can also get fairly close to the pre Second World War ‘sound mirrors’ which were an experiment to try to hear enemy planes coming pre-radar. They are walkable from Romney Sands station

Nice for a day out. Friendly staff and a relaxing ride on the train. A little bit expensive for two adults and a child (same cost for up to 3 kids under 15 IIRC). The locomotives are genuine works of engineering art, very impressive even for non-railfans.

Great place for everyone.
Nothing like a trip on a steam train, (though they also use Diesels) along the back gardens of the local houses and down to Dungeness.
Had a nice chat with the driver about the train, really friendly, thank you.
Not the first time we've been, and certainly won't be the last. Black Price with its red and black livery certainly looks the part.

Absolute exhilarating experience, we parked at Romney; where there is ample parking plus three spaces right outside the station for disabled parking. Great ticket office and souvenir shop available.
Childrens play area available while you are waiting.
Great station area under cover, long platforms.
Multiple carriages available, genuine steam trains albeit a smaller version but absolutely fantastic.
We traveled from Romney to Dymchurch and onto Hythe and return. Probably an hour round trip.
We paid 2 x £19 adult
1 x £9.50 child.
Well worth the expense. Incredibly friendly staff everywhere. Brilliant 🤩 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Popped in here after cycling from Folkestone, the cafe at the back of the station was great, the staff were really friendly and the breakfast was great quality at a good price, was able to secure our bikes on the platform opposite so don't have to worry about those whilst we had breakfast. Will make this our go to spot after riding again. Great to see the trains coming in whilst sitting in the cafe. A great place to stop off or spend a morning or afternoon.

Sorry but I didn’t find this a very enjoyable light railway ride despite having high hopes for the £26 per person return trip to what looked like a shanty town at the end of the rails at Dungeness!!!
Having five adults and a baby in one tiny carriage was extremely cramped and uncomfortable. If you were unlucky to sit on the opposite side to fields all you could see was the back wall or gardens of the houses backing onto the track for the most part.
When we got to Dungeness it was underwhelming with only a cafe and not enough time to even try to make it to the beach.
There are two lighthouses one old and the other connected to a pub and a lovely power station to look at. In my opinion there are far more things to do and places to see where you would get more value for your money.

It's always a great day out here. Normally we start with a trip to New Romney and catch the train over to Dymchurch where the young ones play on the beach and enjoy then funfair. Lunch is fish and chips and maybe a cheeky ice cream.

Small but perfectly formed - we visited again after a long time gone to take our well behaved Dog for his first trip to Dungeness on the train.
Fabulous ride with all the happy passengers, mainly young children and adult children lol loving the little trains, junction boxes and level crossings, with the nostalgic smell of coal fired steam engines, even the pedestrians were waving like mad, happy to see the pleather of various engines buzz past at multiple stages of the journey.
£34 for two adults to return from new Romney to Dungeness, a bit more than we were expecting but due to the excellent work and dedication to all the staff evolved, the prices was to me justified.
Finished off with a lunch at the end of the line cafeteria, which had plenty of services, including a special area for diners and their well behaved dogs, a very thoughtful idea - thank you. Would definitely recommend and return again for another enjoyable day...5/5

A really nice way to spend a few hours especially if you are keen on steam. Good amenities at most stations but the train ride is the best even if the carriages are somewhat cramped.

A miniature engineering marvel. The steam loco's are all nearly 100 years old, just ⅓ size and so very charismatic.
New Romney and Hythe stations have plenty of free parking with very easy access from M20.
The line runs from Hythe in the north east to Dungeness in the south west via the holiday resort of Dymchurch and the main town on the marsh, New Romney. There's even a station at the Romney Sands holiday park.
The landscape changes so much in just 13½ miles. Always flat, but farmland, holiday parks, towns and finally the expanse of shingle that is Dungeness.
And Dungeness really is a magical place, with the nuclear power station, lighthouses and cottages dotted across the shingle. Yesterday I was there in pouring rain in the morning and then later in the afternoon when the sun came out. Such contrasts.
There are cafes at Hythe, New Romney and Dungeness along with gift shops at these three stations plus Dymchurch. At Hythe it pays to go through the main shop which sells snacks to their main cafe for some lovely food and drinks.
New Romney has a large room full of model railway displays plus a working layout, it is an extra cost but very interesting.
There are a number of special events through the year, for the enthusiast there are galas, for the kids there are visits from TV characters. They also run driver experiences where you drive the trains. I have done both silver and gold driver experiences and whilst they are well worth the cost.
RH&DR has one added plus, that is it's friendliness. it may be the 'world's smallest public railway' but it is definitely the most welcoming.

Definitely got our monies worth. Joined at New Romney, went to Dungeness then all the way to Hythe. A couple of hours wandering around the town then back to the train. All the way to Dungeness then back to New Romney! Very blowy in the open carriage bit but so much fun.
A great railway well worth a visit

Wingham Wildlife Park is a popular family-friendly zoo located in Kent, offering a range of attractions and experiences such as feeding sessions, animal encounters, talks and conservation projects. Originally established as a bird park in 1986, the park has since expanded to become one of the top wildlife destinations in the region.
We loved our visit. Our little boy (3) really enjoyed it. Outdoor play area is really good, LOVED the bugs, birds, penguins and the dinosaurs! Indoor play area looked really good but gave it a miss as it was a lovely day to be outside. You could easily walk around twice slowly and take your time on the play areas. Highly recommend!

We recently visited Wingham Wildlife Park and had a fantastic day. The park is home to over 500 animals from all over the world, including lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, orangutans, and many more. The animals are well-cared for and the enclosures are spacious and naturalistic.
We loved being able to get up close to the animals in several walk-through enclosures. We also enjoyed the feeding experiences where we were able to feed some of the animals ourselves. The park also has a number of playgrounds, a soft play area, and a train ride.
The staff at Wingham Wildlife Park were all very friendly and knowledgeable. They were happy to answer any questions we had about the animals. The park was also very clean and well-maintained.
We thought Wingham Wildlife Park was a great value for money. We had a full day of fun and learning, and we didn't feel like we were spending a lot of money.
Overall, we had a fantastic day at Wingham Wildlife Park. We would definitely recommend it to other families.

Amazing value for money! Visited Wingham with my family and was incredibly impressed with it! A huge park with a large selection of animals. It was really well laid out, clean and tidy and the staff seemed really attentive to the animals.
We went on a Monday so it was really empty but it's clear that the place is designed to cater for loads of people at one time... so I'd most definitely recommend going during the quiet periods! Stopped for a coffee and snack in the coffee shop, which is about a quarter of the way round, and then another at the restaurant at the entrance/exit - prices were a little steep but no more than to be expected in a place like this.
Overall would highly recommend a visit!

We went on a Monday arrived during midday and four hours still not feeling enough. It’s not the size of the park that’s big, in fact it’s not that big at all compare to other Zoo. But we enjoyed it so much! 🥰 There’s so many places for kids to explore and play - indoor and outdoor, the dinosaur park (even us adults loved it) + bug garden (huge bug sculptures so amazing) ! My son was going in and out of the Dino park 3 times and been to the soft play for over 1 hour. It’s just so much fun ♥️♥️♥️ the animals all looking very healthy and happy (the lions and tigers are so awesome and mighty ) We will definitely be back soon so we can go back to see the rest of the park cos we spent too much time at some areas and didn’t be able to finish the whole park oopsy 😆
I love this park mainly cos it’s like an all in one for kids - soft play+animal zoo+outdoor park+dinosaur museum👌🏻😉😍 definitely recommend if you have children 👧🏻👦🏻if not then it’s great too! So many animals to see! (I haven’t been able to take many pics of the animals cos I was too focus on looking at them with my own eyes) Great to walk around! The staff have done a great job to keep the park so clean and neat 💖

Absolutely fantastic day out. I haven't been for about 5 years and went today with hubby and a 12 and 17 Yr old. We all had a great time. Lots to see and if you don't see the animals on your first walk around you'll probably see them on your second walk around. Indoor play facilities for younger children. There's work going on at the moment but I can't wait to go back and see what they've done.

It's amazing how well this place has come along since it's early beginnings as a bird park. I haven't been here for about 7yrs and the additions they have made and are making are excellent. Disabled access is probably one of the best we have experienced at a zoo, although more disabled parking would be beneficial. The play areas are excellent, the staff and keepers are friendly and knowledgeable they obviously love their work. Pricing may seem a tad high for a small zoo but you can literally spend a whole day here so overall it's actually reasonable. Go, you will enjoy it.

My favourite zoo. The facilities are great. Lots of toilets and cafes with various picnic areas. A nice wide variety of animals to see. All the enclosure are very clean and well kept. Amazing day out for the family. Would highly recommend a visit.

This was great, my toddler loved the dinosaurs more than all the real animals... But the animals were all amazing and featured tigers, panthers, lion, giraffe, penguins etc was a variety! Also had the most epic amount of playgrounds. Could spend a full day here as I hear you can take a picnic too.

An amazing venue for family day trip .. There is plenty of free parking at the venue.. One will definitely enjoy seeing many wild animals, birds , reptiles etc etc .. There is also a large play area for kids and mini golf. There are not much of options for food but they do have a cafe and a few ice cream shops in the venue. They recommend taking your own food and enjoy it in the dining areas.. All together it’s a good place to visit ..

Decent park, it's a good size and most of the habitats are okay. The big Cats could do with more room imho though. A few more foot options would also be nice. It's a good fun place though overall. You might only need half a day, and it's better on good weather days.

Booked the penguin experience for my 10 year old and they loved it! The zoo keeper, Sam, was very patient and knowledgeable, was telling us more fun facts about the penguins and encourage my daughter to keep going even though she didn’t like touching the fish 🙂.
The pool was out of action but we enjoyed taking the penguins for a walk before they were feed.
It might have been a bit early for some of the animals in the park but few cages were empty.
Apart from that it was lovely day out with easy parking and clean toilets, few hot drinks spots and play area.
Mazie Stokes — Google review
Our favourite is the reptile house, but the park has so much more than that to offer, as we have explored with our annual pass. A great fun day out for the whole family, with many animals, some of them rescued, and most of them looking happy and well taken care of.
I was never a big fan of zoos but all the workers I have encountered in Wingham seem to care about the animals and do their best to keep them healthy and safe.
The playgrounds and soft play area are amongst the highlights for young children, as they may be even better than the ones one might have in their local area.
The dinosaur park was the reason we chose it in the first place and we were not wrong! We will definitely renew our annual pass; it's worth it!

Lovely day out, most animals were out and about and we managed to catch a great talk about the red pandas. Great place to go as an adult or with kids.

Didn't know this place existed until I was told about it from someone who heard it advertised on the radio. So we thought we would check it out and im glad we did. There was no ques to get in, the staff were friendly and the lay out was great.
The range of animals they had was very varied and they all looked loved and looked after. Highly recommend.

Had the ‘Feed the Penguins’ experience and it was great fun! Ryan the expert was fantastic, he answered our questions and clearly loves his job. We wandered around the rest of the zoo afterwards and loved every minute. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The animals all looked healthy and cared for and had large accommodations. Will definitely go back and visit.

Situated just a few miles from Canterbury in Kent. This medium sized zoo has a wide range of animals including big cats, bears, giraffes, penguins, apes and monkeys, wolves and much more. Their two lions were rescued and are living out their years in peace and safety.
It takes a good 3 hours to get around everything. For kids there is a giant bug garden, a dinosaur walk where some are animated and there are inside and outside play areas too!
There are places to buy food and drink dotted around the park and other areas where you can rest and eat your own food. There are plenty of toilets.
There are talks from the staff, I joined one about the tigers and there was a Q&A session at the end. The keeper was knowledgeable and friendly.
The zoo has a large and free car park.
Many areas have good access if you are a wheelchair user.
Entry prices are reasonable, quite a bit less than other zoo parks in Kent.

Wingham is a Fantastic animal park. It's one of my granddaughters favourite places she has been visiting it since she was born. She is five this year and knows so much about the animals. Her favourite are the cappiebaras. The staff are always polite and very helpful. It's a great place to spend the day.
Karen Murphy — Google review
There is so much to see and do here, it's far bigger than its own website makes it seem. We spent just over four hours here and that wasn't even including everything. Great value for money. Especially as the online tickets are tickets that can last a year- so you can skip a rainy day if needed. Especially loved the tropical house, you can buy nectar for £2 and feed the birds- they sit on you etc. Only reason I haven't given five stars is because it felt a bit too much like a zoo for my liking. I wanted the enclosures bigger, personally.

WELL DONE Eurotunnel. I was booked on the 13:54 today. We had a quite long time in the car park BUT we didn't get blown up. Thank you to whoever kept us safe.

The money being generated by this monstrosity of a company, you'd of thought that by now they would have brought new train carriages for drivers with fully working air conditioning a refreshments bar to get a drink or 2, but no this is euro tunnels cattle mover for freight drivers, though cattle get much better conditions in transit, mooo moo ⛔️❗️❗️❗️❗️
Rich Goode — Google review
every year it gets worse and worse.
the amount of time you have to spend on check-ins, etc., keeps getting longer
being already in the queue and waiting to board the train, it turns out that we will be going much later than according to the schedule in the application.
Many times there are long queues and the train is only or maybe half full.
the toilets smelly and very dirty. no water is standard.
Pawel STE — Google review
Great logistics on moving the volume of freight, reduce the train availability per hour from 4 down to 2 ! Now that should clear the queues !
Great planning 😡😡😡😡😡😡

Nice facilities but their time tracking is not accurate. There was hardly anyone in today, we followed the indications to the letter. What happened? Slow passport control and pointless security control, and we missed our train. If this was an airport, the airlines would go out of business.

We were travelling to Belguim. The booking was simple and the arrival procedures were effortless. We visited the duty free and food hall. We were given uptodate advise on our duty free entitlement. The WC was visited which was clean and well maintained. The trips were effortless.

Margate Main Sands is a top-rated family-friendly beach in Kent, located on the northeast coast. It offers various activities such as surfing, swimming and kids' rides along with classic seafood snacks making it a perfect destination for tourists. The beach has a promenade, tidal bathing pool and children's rides to keep everyone entertained. Margate Sands is approximately 200 metres long and can get crowded at times due to its immense popularity.
Wonderful fantastic day out lots to do for adults and children as well as a diverse range of eateries at down to earth prices.
Margate is the new in place to go. Full of history and culture and a very diverse community.

A bit if a run down beach, would be nice sands but people just leave it covered in rubbish and never clean up. When the water comes in the sea is filled with plastic bottles, crisp packets, coke cans and peoples abandoned towels and day beds.
If people cared to look after the beach it would be nice :)

Very nice LARGE BEECH . Unfortunately only just got time to pop in at evening on our last day of our trip. Got to witness a STUNNING SUNSET, prayed Maghreb all while enjoying a some very strong/gusty wind blowing in from the sea. CONNECTION WITH NATURE A very MEMORABLE OCCASION !

Spent a couple of hours in the area on a sunny day - sandy shoreline invites relaxation. The beach itself holds promise for endless hours of enjoyment. Yet, the overpowering smell, attributed to algae, is hard to ignore; an unusual experience compared to my beach explorations worldwide. Turner Contemporary and a few modern cafes/restaurants add charm, but the area's potential hinges on substantial investment. Beach cleanup should be the starting point. Convenient parking at Arlington Car Park Dreamland (RingGo 21608), while the unattractive side needs attention. Train station's a 5-minute jaunt, and beating the midday rush during kids holidays ensures prime beach spots. Head beyond Turner Contemporary for lovely sea views. A return hinges on reports of the smell being resolved via a thorough beach cleanup. Funfair's a bonus. Once a filming location for one episode of the great Only Fools and Horses in 1989, a push to modern standards is overdue.

If you don't actually want to sit on the silky soft sandy beach but still want a quick swim, or paddle along the shore, then go to The Kings Steps. These are situated along the promenade, where you can sit down have a picnic, munch a freshly cooked pizza or some local fish and chips (I strongly recommend that you don't feed the seagulls as this will start a seagull frenzy). During the Summer months as the night draws in The Kings Steps is one of the most memorable, amazing and tranquil places to be. As a local I'm probably prejudice to the fact that you will experience some of the most beautiful Sunsets looking out towards Margate's Harbour Arm.

Precise location:
Marine Terrace, Margate, Kent, CT9 1XJ.
Lovely, reasonably clean sandy beach with toilets near by and tidal pool.
Margate train station short walk away.
The sea front and beach has security guards.
There is dog ban there in place from 1st May until 30th September, dogs are not permitted on the beach from 10am – 6pm. Although, many people do take dogs with them there.
Restaurants, lots of cafes and bars with different variety of food and seafood stalls, lots of shops are just a short walk away in the Old Town.
Very popular for families with kids! There are children’s rides and amusement arcades there, which is offering families traditional seaside fun and entertainment. :)
Lots of parking everywhere with different prices from £9 for whole day just across the road to the beach or £7 for 24 hours or £4 for 8 hours if you don't mind walking for 10 minutes to the Main Sands, then you have to drive further up the road to the Viking Coastal Trail Car Park.
Near Coastal Trail Car Park, there is a beach too, but watch out for tide there not to be washed off to the sea! :)
Can be extremely busy on hot days and especially at the weekends, so try to arrive as early as possible! :)
Last weekend absolutely packed. People were almost breathing at each other's backs!
Nevertheless, in general, it is great place to come to enjoy the sun, the sea and all what Margate can offer! :)

Beautiful beach for both rock pools or just clear sand. Clean huge expanse, a harbour to walk around, a fabulous 👌 seafood and oyster hut, a superb array of restaurants with seating inside and outside to sit and watch beautiful 😍 sunsets 🌇.

Love this beach! The sand is lovely and soft and when the tide is out, the kids can play in little tidal pools left behind and there is a big tidal pool that you can swim in. There are lots of place to get food, drink, beach shops and a few arcades to play along the front. You can rent deck chairs or sun loungers but I didn't see prices. There is also trampolines, bouncy castles/slides and old fashioned pull swings to play in too. Highly recommended a visit for a day at the beach!

I love this sandy windy beach. I don't get the chance to be here often, but when l do, on goes the trunks and a plunge into the sea.
Walking distance to public toilets, shops and cafes, as well as train station. Near galleries and markets, lots of choices of where to eat.
Spike Mclarrity — Google review
Beautiful stretch of coastline. Many shops and attractions nearby. Plenty of restaurants or cafes close-by. Tourist information is housed in a beautiful building near the harbour arm. Well signaged 'Viking Coastline' walk trail. Plenty of street signage for both road users and pedestrians. Toilets sadly a bit lack lustre, no paper and rather unsanitary conditions in both the main block of porta-loos and the ones in the fair, although understandably, the amount of users of those toilets to the amount of times they were cleaned thruout the day, didn't help matters. But I am sure a wander further into the town would source some better options. Overall a lovely place to visit with family or just to walk the dog, beautiful architecture and signage thruout.

The Turner Contemporary is an impressive art gallery in Kent that showcases works by renowned artists such as JMW Turner and contemporary creators. Its modern architecture provides a versatile backdrop for weddings, with breathtaking views of the sea adding to its appeal. The venue features two rooms, the Foyle Rooms and Clore Studio, which can be customized to suit individual tastes and styles for a dream wedding in Margate, Kent.
I'm not a very big gallery visitor but would highly recommend this one! A lot of the gallery explores race very uniquely and accessibly, also includes a history of video games with the chance to play all consoles, a great shop full of great souvenirs and also a contemporary section too. Free entry also!

The building itself is great; the exhibition's can be mixed. Seems to be focusing on social engineering at the moment: when an artist spends more time explaining his art than on making it got have got to worry.

Fantastic gallery in a marvellous location looking over Margate beach. Great exhibition on when we visited. Nice shop too with postcards and art books👍No need to book as FREE entry😀

Beautifully designed contemporary art gallery. There is permanent collection, which we’d seen before but is worth a second visit.
The shop is interesting and eclectic. The cafe is good quality, although a little pricey.
The real star here though is the beautiful building overlooking the harbour. Even though it’s very different to the Georgian town it fits beautifully. We’ll worth a visit.

It’s a nice place to visit in Margate and it’s a really interesting building. I wasn’t too impressed by what was in there though - the building itself is huge but the exhibitions are quite small. They had a selection of works by local artists which I enjoyed even though you have to search for online information/ a booklet to find any information (even the artists name)
Ella Hillyard — Google review
Unfortunately the gallery was between exhibitions so we didn't see much art but the staff were friendly and though the attached shop was small it was open plan and easy to access even in my wheelchair. Outside there is easy access with a ramp to the big entrance doors. There is an outside installation by Anthony gormley called another time but if the tide is in be aware its submerged.

The place to go to for art lovers, last chance to see Beatriz Milhazes exhibition which ends on the 10 of September 2023. It is a squeaky clean venue, well organised, cheerful and cultural. Make sure to have a word with the available staff, they have a wealth of information on everything arty. Only reason for the 4 not 5 stars is the limited amount of exhibits. Suggestion, give a permanent space for local artists, you won’t regret it.
Khalid Abdalla — Google review
Wonderful space! The exhibit changes every season, and the one I got to see was of 50 women artists through the last 60 decades. Some of the abstract pieces were remarkable.
Personally abstract art isn't for me, so this was a miss, but if you love sculptures, installations and abstract art - this is a definite must see!
Lovely cafe right at the entrance. Turner Contemporary does not have a permanent exhibit so check their website to see what's on!
Mash Mala — Google review
A fantastic art gallery and wonderful resource for the town. It's free to enter, which makes it very accessible and allows for long or short visits, as you feel. The exhibitions are innovative and provocative. Although the exhibition space isn't as big as the galleries in London (for instance), it punches well above its weight. A must visit if you're in Margate.
Shadow Cast — Google review
It's a beautiful building and the cafe and shop are both fab but I'll admit I was pretty underwhelmed by the collection. I'm not sure if we visited on a bad day but the whole gallery seem to be given over to one exhibit (Brazilian contemporary artist Beatriz Milhazes). Whilst this was a good exhibition, I was left a bit disappointed there was no permanent collection of local art 😕
Lizzie Chapman — Google review
I've been to the Turner Contemporary many times, often with my daughter. It's always been a wonderful artistic experience. The penultimate visit included a crazy animated silver alien that seemed to track you as you walked around the room with its neck and eyes.
This time a brilliant show of the work of Beatriz Milhazes, a Brazilian artist. The works take over five galleries, and given space, they shine.
I'm never disappointed when I visit. Free, but worth donating, or buying from the shop. Great rebooted cafe as well.

Interesting pieces of art! Love that the gallery faces the ocean as well—upper floor is great for taking pictures. Best of all is that it’s free.

While the gallery is not huge, it has a well presented and accessible exhibition. I found it quite pleasant to wander around and take in the art. The internal 1st floor balcony offers a nice view onto the sea.

As a local wedding photographer and videographer team we know that the Turner Contemporary is absolutely the BEST wedding venue in Margate.
We love shooting here and we can't wait to be back!

On the positive it's a lovely location as the photos show, right in the heart of Margate's harbour area. There are now loads of bars and restaurants around the area and places to sit. Entry is free but you can make donations, the staff were clearly interested and friendly. It's a bright, clean and welcoming building so very pleased we visited. I'll be honest I didn't understand the art in the slightest, neither the artist blurbs or pieces but it was open, welcoming and with the visit. Others visiting were clearly engaged with the art so it must be good if you understand it.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Park is a large and well-maintained memorial to the fallen soldiers of the Battle of Britain. The centerpiece of the park is a statue of a pilot hiding his uniform under his jacket, signifying his fear for his safety. The park also contains many other memorials to those who died in the conflict.
Visited here on a day when it was closed. But being able to walk around the outside of the building and looking at the planes that have been placed in various different ways. To top it off the views across the channel are stunning. The visit was back in December I bet when its open this is a very popular attraction to visit

Wow what a beautifully respectful peaceful place to visit. It really does give you a huge sense of appreciation visiting the Battle of Britain Memorial in Folkestone. Just a little walk around but so many emotions will flow through you in a short time, I highly recommend a stop if you can. All you have to pay for is the parking but have the option to donate.
The volunteers are friendly, informative and helpful. I would like to pass on my thanks for their commitment to such an important cause.

My nephew is obsessed with historical military and loved visiting here. I did find it a little hard to keep his attention engaged but he's only 10 and wanted to look at things rather than read.
He loved exploring the replica planes and visiting the memorial.
Car parking is pay by cash so make sure you have change it was £1 for up to 3 hours.
I had a coffee from the cafe and the food looked great when I saw it being taken out.
There's an outside seating area along with an indoor seating area that's wheelchair friendly and accessible via a lift.
A family friendly day out with a lot to take in.

We travelled from London to visit the memorial and it was well worth it. Free entry and very reasonable priced parking. £1 per hour or £5 all day. This is a memorial to all who took part in The Battle of Britain. It is not a museum. A place for reflection and you might see a relative's name on the memorial wall. There is a scramble experience you can do but there is a fee for this £7. It is well laid out with a statue of a pilot sitting in the middle of propeller shaped paths. The sea views are excellent. There is a cafe too and the prices are very reasonable too. There is a well stocked shop to get a memento of your visit.

Smashing place to visit - beautiful grounds and scale model planes. The chargeable interactive “Scramble Experience” was also very good for both adults and children. If you’re lucky you may get to see the local Spitfire fly over!
Cafe was smashing with elevated views and very well priced food/drinks. Chargeable car park (take coins!).
Marked down a star though as had confirmation from staff that dogs on leads were accepted in the grounds (after seeing a dog there). Told my parents who took their small dog only to be turned away!

This place is amazing. A very serene memorial outside. An incredible tech production inside. First came the pilot memorial outside that the Queen Mum dedicated. Then Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip dedicated the opening of the great building. Lovely cafe upstairs with a balcony overlooking the grounds, too. Do not miss this place!

This place is just fantastic and well worth a visit unfortunately I was just passing between jobs so couldn't spend more than half hour but you could easily spend half a day here, plenty of things to see and also a simulator to have a go of, unfortunately I didn't have the time.. My partner and I spent a lovely afternoon here. Friendly staff, fascinating well laid out exhibition and completely accessible for people in wheelchairs although the car park had a gravel surface so if you cant get one of the allocated disabled spaces it may be difficult to cross. The memorial is free to enter and I highly recommend visiting the "Scramble" exhibition for which there is a small charge.

It is a beautiful place to visit to honour the Battle of Britain heroes. Visit the experience room for a small charge and learn much more about these brave men who flew and everyone else involved in what was an iconic moment in the war. Set in beautiful grounds overlooking the cliffs. Visit the cafe and sit on the terrace. Enjoy the views and reflect.
We were lucky that a spitfire flew over while we were visiting making the day even more special.

We timed our visit to coincide with Battle of Britain day and were able to join the short service of Remembrance. Such a privilege and made more special by the spitfire overhead just as the act of Remembrance started.
A beautiful and fitting tribute to those who served.
The cafe was busy but we expected that. Those serving behind the counter were helpful and the cakes delicious.
The scramble experience was worth the small payment. Lots to learn and the films moving.
Outside provided a lovely space to walk around with well kept grounds and lots to see.

The Scramble Experience was excellent. Lots of interactivity and very informative. Prob not best suited to under 10s I'd say as it is text heavy.

An interesting and very worthwhile visit. It gives an overview of the B.o.B using displays and there's also an interactive 'Scramble' experience that I think is also worth the £7 entry fee (concessions available for >60s, families, ex-Services, etc). Extensive grounds outside with the replica aircraft and the memorial wall. You can walk pretty close to the cliff edge at your own risk. There are no cliff barriers. Views of Folkestone to the west and the white cliffs approaching Dover to the east. Café upstairs for refreshments (lift access available). Gift shop downstairs. Toilets were modern, clean and everything worked. The centre is disabled-friendly. Plenty of car parking available (pay & display and coin payment only). Staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. Top tips: you're right at the top of the white cliffs...it was bracing outside in the wind in mid-April! Dress accordingly! Bring change for the car park machine! Also note that photography in the main downstairs displays and in the 'Scramble' experience is prohibited. The Memorial centre is a charity. It receives no Government funding. Please leave a donation if you can.

Arrived here via the North downs way path. It was late in the day so the main building was closed.
The grounds and monuments are pristine with excellent information boards. Really good to see a Spitfire and Hurricane together. I spent about 20-30 minutes looking around and reading the boards
Excellent view out to sea as you rejoin the path. A very fitting tribute.
I saw a car park at the front of the building which seemed easily accessible.

A very touching place so sad to see the large number of people that los their lives. Well worth paying to enter the Scramble experiance where touch screens explain the history and a short film projected over several large screens depicts a call to battle.
There is a cafe overlooking the grounds and a small gift shop. We spent about 2hs exploring the site.
