It is worth a visit. The images it offers inside and outside the castle are impressive. However, the area should be cleaned in order to make it easier to move inside and outside the perimeter of the castle.

Great site loads to see . The museums were fascinating and full of amazing artefacts. Well worth visiting with some great views of the bay and coast

Close to the city center, where you can take a drink and go for a walk, well preserved walls, which you can walk all around the castle.

Greece, a splendid example of sixteenthcentury military architecture. It was built by the Turks in 1573, two years after their defeat by the Christian allies at Lepanto, the last great sea-battle in which oared ships were involved. To build Niokastro the Turks brought in European engineers and architects.
They complied with all the specifications required for the castle to be defended from landward, and still more from seaward and for it to have withinits circuit a group of dwellings and a reinforced citadel. The castle’s walls were enlarged to eight and a half metres in height and three metres in breadth. This castle was a reinforcement for the south-west top of the Ottoman Empire, and the Turks thereby obtained safe harbourage against a seaborne foe.

A really great experience! The castle is beautiful and there are three tiny museums that are lovely.

Amazing castle!
The exhibits in the archeologicical museum are very well presented and extremely interesting. There's also a museum with findings from shipwrecks!
Claire Tefariki — Google review
An interesting castle with a satisfactory collection of finds. Unfortunately, there is no description anywhere of who/when and why the castle was used.
Katarina Domjanič — Google review
A typical Venetian castle, but offering fantastic views from a green park, including three small but great musea. The archeological museum gives a concise view on the Mycenaean culture in the region.

We went early in the morning to avoid the heat. We spent a little over an hour and a half here exploring the ruins and museums. Very nice views with just a little effort climbing stairs/walking around the castro. Great value for just 6 euros an adult. Vending machine available for cold drinks. They are closed Tuesdays.
Irene Panos-Evert — Google review
Really nice castle to visit. €6 the adult entrance with access to 3 museums inside. Toilets are available. It can be a bit dangerous when weather is bad. It can be cleaned a bit as well. But beautiful view of the sea though !
Arielle Jocktane — Google review
Atmospheric church that started as a mosque, huge grounds, stunning views over the sea. Interesting exhibits of archaeological finds on shipwrecks around the southern Peleponnese. Great value. 15 euro pass gets you in for three days at several other sites.
Peter Stewart — Google review
You have am amazing view from there. You can visit freely the place. The ticket booth is close to the entrance. There are parking spaces in front of the gate. The place also has 3 museums and a church.

Voidokilia Beach is a horseshoe-shaped beach situated in a nature reserve in Greece. The beach boasts of clear water and the ruins of a 13th-century castle which provides an astonishing view when climbed. It is considered as one of the best beaches in Greece with its soft sand, moderate waves, and warm waters. This wild beach has no facilities except for a large dirt parking area and a bar that delivers on the beach.
What a beautiful place! The view from the Navarino castle takes your breath away, and then a swim in the crystal clear waters makes the climb all worth it!

VOIDOKILIA BEACH - tucked away on the coast of Messinia this iconic horseshoe-shaped beach, with its spectacular blend of golden sands and turquoise blue sea, is a postcard-worthy snapshot of the Peloponnese region.

Wonderful sand beach 🏝️ My tips :
*/ easy to reach and park the car, and not overcrowded
*/ take your food with you : no shop on site
*/ while there, have a walk upon the rocky hill, the landscape there is lunar !!!

Great beach very clean water. The access is not so bad as some other say. The road takes you almost to the beach.
Nenad Magdeski — Google review
One of my absolute favorite beaches is in Messenia. The experience becomes truly special when you hike to the hill's peak. The panoramic view from there is nothing short of AMAZING 🤩. A must-visit.
Benjamin El'Abied — Google review
Amazing beach, clear waters, thin sand inside and outside, sand dunes around and usually nice waves for the kids to play! One of the best beaches in Greece! Get water, umbrella and some bites from nearby cantinas as it is protected and there is nothing there!
Fotis Karayannis — Google review
Secluded beach with sand parking spot. If you come early enough you get parking and a good spot. Water is shallow and clear so perfect for lounging out in the sun. Very quiet surrounding.
Worth the drive there and walk around if you have time.

Beautiful beach at the end of a dirt road. Become very popular with foreign tourists. Ruins of a fort and Mycenaean tombs nearby as well

Amazing place for summer trip, wonderful blue water, big beach, much better than the photos!
Fanis Tsekos — Google review
Amazing beach, so beautiful! You can hike up to palaiokastro (old castle) ruins and Nestor’s cave to get a view from above. There is space to park near to the beach, but be sure to bring your own umbrellas as there is no shade. There are no sun loungers either. However there is a small shop/cafe about a 2 min drive before the beach. Water is crystal clear. Sky at night is also incredible.

One of Greece's best beaches. It has soft sand, moderate waves and warm waters. The view is great, but if you go up to the castle on the hill, the view will become astonishing. It is a wild beach, with no facilities. It has a large dirt parking. There is also a bar in the area which will deliver on the beach.
Andrei Meroniuc — Google review
The best beach of the Messinia region and one of the best in Greece! I suggest not sitting at the start but walk some minutes till the middle where it's less crowdy.
Panagiotis Kritikakis — Google review
I ve seen photos and I was curious to visit. The reality is even better! Amazing beach with sand cedar trees. Let's all try to keep it this way. No trashes no loud music no beach bars no sun beds. I d recommend visiting off season or early in the morning to avoid mass tourism
Giorgos Foutas — Google review
A beautiful somewhat remote beach with crystal clear water and phenomenal views. Very shallow so extremely kid friendly but there are no chairs or umbrellas for rent so you need to bring your own. It does get pretty hot throughout the summer so come prepared with a cooler and some drinks along with an umbrella and some chairs and you’ll be set up to have an awesome time.
VoudouLounge — Google review
I came to visit this beach because the high ratings and also because I have house 1 hour away. But the reality surpass any imagination for this place.
I came 9am and I was literally alone. The water was very calm and shallow. Was crystal clear and like a mirror. It was more cold that I expected for such shallow beach and that was a sigh the water was clean. Sand everywhere inside and outside with 0 pebble. The sand making massage to your feet.
This beach is super safe and amazing for swim and stay inside. Is very big but I suggest to stay in two sides were are the rocks. In There has 0 waves, the colour is amazing light green and the rocks side to you give a impression that you are in some thailand island.
This beach has nothing to envy from some famous tropical beaches and mighty is one of the best of the world. Is perfectly balance all around. Sand gold-red, protected by wind, insane view with the rocks and the wild around, lakes behind of the beach and a castle on one hill there. Is super clean, refreshing and has amazing colour on eye. Probably the best beach all around I have visit. Must visit
lanakias1 — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach, framed by two small mountains. Crystal clear water, in September not so much crowded. You have to go round about 50m through flat water until you can swim. No bathing shoes needed. The ground is only sand. Zero shadow, no parasols and sunbeds, no taverns, no beach showers. You have to bring your own food and stuff if you want to stay longer.
Rolf “Rollo” Fischer — Google review
Incredible beach in Peloponnese, probable one of the nicest! Highly recommended, please note that you have to bring your own food, umbrella and water! Perfect for families with children!
Costin Oprea — Google review
In a nutshell: my favorite beach.
Crystal clear water, white sand, all shades of blue and wherever you see plus the beach had a shallow part so kids can play with ease. Outstanding.
Federico Pastorino — Google review
The beach has perfectly clear water and it's real pelasure to swim there . It's shallow for 10-15m, with nice sand, but after that you can swim and dive in the deep water.
You have to bring your own umbrella and sunbeds, water and food since there is no restaurant or shop near the beach.
The beach is long, there is a lot of space but if you want to catch the nearest place ( from your car) on the beach, you should be there at 9:30-10 latest.

Nestled in a lush forest, Polylimnio Waterfalls is a stunning series of 15 small lakes connected by stepped waterfalls. Located approximately 21km from Pylos and about 30 kilometers from Kalamata, this natural wonder offers an alternative to the beach experience in Greece. The total distance from the parking area to the last waterfall is nearly 3km, making it an ideal day trip for hikers and nature enthusiasts.
Amazing place. The travel path is really fun, a bit challenging but we saw small children do it. Worth your time. Warning, the water is freezing cold but we had a good swim.
Nitsan Litov — Google review
Polylimnio Waterfalls are real refreshing hidden gem in this area. Water wasn't very cold so everybody can enjoy swimming. Don't go in flip flops, rather go in snickers. It's at least 20 minutes long trekking, but it's worth it. You may feel you are lost at one point but just follow signs, or other people... The earlier you come the less people would be around you.
Hrvoje Petrovic — Google review
Totally unexpectedly enchanting place. Be sure to wear shoes and a swimsuit. The walk to the largest lake is exhausting and a bit dangerous, but worth it. The uphill climb on the way back will make you think it's time to start taking care of your body's fitness.
Orestis - — Google review
It was pretty short walk to the bigger waterfall, but might be hard for some in regular slippers when it’s super hot outside, but for us it wasn’t that bad. If I’d go again I’d wear sports sandals and have a bikini with me. Also be aware that when you get close to there by car don’t listen to google maps, but watch the signs with arrows 👍🏻 It was amazing view and water was so cool and refreshing, we loved it ❤️
Roksolana Shveda — Google review
What an amazing hike you're going to absolutely love coming here. Be prepared that it's not totally easy to do the entire hike. But the waterfalls are amazing to see and you'll love it. Depending on the time of year you might run into some snakes but we didn't see any at all when we went in april.

Beautiful little hidden gem of a spot. 💎
It’s a bit of a steep walk down the hill from the car park, so definitely come with walking shoes or trainers to get there! Be very careful as you hike through the water as it is very slippery and take the time to hike along the water to find one of the many quieter areas.
Kadi Lake features the biggest waterfalls that drop from a height of 25 meters.
Taking a dip in the refreshing waters and reconnecting with nature here was one of the highlights of our trip to the Peloponnese.
Must visit! Reach out to the big waterfall and enjoy the feeling of being in the nature!
Panayiotis Georgiou — Google review
It's a hidden gem! Beautiful forest, with peace and quiet! When you visit this place, try to wear walking shoes. If you spend your holiday at the beach, it could be a refreshing excursion, because it's the opposite of the beach feeling. This place is quiet, totally different views, AND the weather is cool! Highly recommended!
Csilla Varga — Google review
This place is taken out of a dream! So gorgeous, so peaceful and so magical! Please keep it clean and take any rubbish you might find! To reach the waterfall and the lake you have to walk a little though the water but is so rewarding! Definitely recommend it 🤩🙏🏻🇬🇷😊
Daskalo N — Google review
Place is beautiful, but not the best waterfall we’ve seen in our life. From the parking area it will take you less than 5 minutes to reach the waterfall (down the hill)
The thing is that there are no comfortable conditions for travellers.
However, the place is free (parking also).
We suppose that it could be more popular if people would take a fee for entrance and at the same time made some adjustments to location itself - that would attract more tourists!
Anyway, nature is beautiful as it is.
Laura Pavulane — Google review
Lovely walk along the river. From the car park, once you reach the river, left takes you down to two pools, the second of which is more difficult to reach. I recommend swimming in the first one. Turning right takes you up to the big waterfall at Kadi pool. This is even better for a swim but can get busy. To the left of the waterfall is a ladder up to a rock, off of which you can jump into the pool below.
Walking sandal should be fine but I would not recommend flip flops or sliders. If you intend to swim in the pools then water shoes will make it easier to clamber in and out.

A great place to go swimming on a hot day!! The waterfalls are so beautiful, and this is definitely the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. The hike was a little difficult, but I went with my family ages 12 - 35. It was hot, but with all the greenery and partly cloudy sky, it was bearable, and the very cold waters were so cool and refreshing!! 5/5, so amazing
Basil McGowen — Google review
Not much water at this time of year makes it not so much a waterfall but running water from a height.. there are some wooden bridges that you have to cross that have seen way better days and should have been replaced some time ago. There are signs that inform you that you enter at your own risk, make sure you pay extra attention to where your footing is at all times! Other than that, it a was a nice place with relatively easy access. The way back requires a typical physical condition but you can stop to catch your breath as many times as you want, I guess.. :)
Vaios Pantoulas — Google review
Good parking however it is accessed by a narrow dirt road. The walk down is steep and challenging. You could do it with older children. There are lovely pools to swim in, with the top one being the nicest and clearest. Turn right at the bottom of the hill to get to the top. I recommend going to the taverna that is at the top of the dirt track - it was an amazing end to a great day!
Katherine Drabble — Google review
Swimming in front of the waterfalls is not only possible, but also quite an experience! Arriving earlier than 11:00 is better since most of the tourists arrive at around noon. Also arriving earlier gives better chances to find a parking place.
Αστέριος Δασκαλούδης — Google review
A must visit! After going to the first lake created by the waterfalls there is the option to do a a bit of a small "hike" up the big rocks and a mesmerizing surprise will wait for you there. Always proceed with caution as the path is very slippery and rocky. Definitely recommend bringing hiking shoes!
Vasilis Arg — Google review
Magnificent place! For people that hike the difficulty is a piece of cake! I recommend going early in the morning so that there will not be a lot of people. Also if you hike and climb rocks then you can also go further. There are some steps from iron that are very helpful to go on a lake that is more lonely and more beautiful. It's just a little bit dangerous for people that are not used to. Also wear sneakers !!
Maria — Google review
Last part of the road to parking not perfect and narrow. Absolutely not clear - where to go and how to find the warefalls. Probably we didn’t found the path to waterfalls which others are sharing nice photos. In any case - you have to be prepared for natural nature hiking
inga al — Google review
The most famous waterfall! Most people who have come to Messinia visit it. I've happened to go and there was a time when they had music on and it was magical! There is a parking lot to leave your vehicle (just be careful because sometimes they throw beer around and the parking lot is filled with glass).
Before you enter the trail leading to the waterfall it is mentioned that you are at your own risk since there are falling rocks (luckily I did not experience this).
When you get to the waterfall it has two trails (one to the right and one to the left). The more famous one is the right one, as it has multiple levels as you go up! You will be rewarded and mesmerized by this experience.
To the left I had been going reaches up to a point, it's just a little difficult to discern how to get down to the bottom so you can swim. So you have to be extra careful not to miss the spot.
Αθηνά Γεωργακοπούλου — Google review
Phenomenal Location. It's definitely worth the drive from Kalamata. The water is ice cold but also refreshing.
Note: to complete all of the falls you will need shoes and no fear of heights. Sections are unsuitable for little kids under 8. Just from a safety perspective, as you are on a narrow ledge for 30m to 50m that is roughly 10m off the ground.
Make sure you use the ropes and metal pegs where you see them. They are there to make the climb easier.
Andrew Fisher — Google review
Beautiful waterfall into a pool of clear green water, with tiny fish, set in a lush forested valley.
It is a long way down from the car-park, which in turn is along an unmade-up road from a tiny village. Some of the track down to the waterfall is unmade-up, some is paved with slippery white marble, and there are steps in places too.
Gretel Hallett — Google review
It’s a magical place, full of natural small lakes and waterfalls. Beware of the pathway, you’ll need athletic/mountain shoes to get higher up the mountain from where you park. Also, the slippery rocks make it difficult for some, so be careful. Please do not throw any trash or temporarily leave it somewhere because you will forget it.
Christina Daskalaki — Google review
It is an excellent place to visit! Easy access and easy parking. It is not recommended for small kids because the path is not easy. The waterfalls and the naturally formed pools are superb, and you can swim in them. During August, it's croudy. For sure, it's a place that you should visit!
Panos M — Google review
A great place to visit bit definitely be prepared for a good walk. If you want to visit the main waterfall it very tricky & uneven. I would say kids needs to be adventurous to make the climb out.

Perfect place to enjoy the sunset and take panoramic photos of the city. The paths are slippery in some areas, and steep, better wear adequate shoes if you want to explore a little bit.

Very nice walk around old town, ending to the castle.
The castle also known as the Castle of Arcadia, which is the medieval name of the town. It is one of the most known sights in Kyparissia and stands as a stronghold of the entire municipality. According to researchers, the Castle of Kyparissia was built by Frankish people on the site of a previous Byzantine fortress.

Off-season, and without all of the sunbeds this beach is paradise!
Otherwise still worth the visit for a refreshing swim.

The most beautiful beach of the region. I have been going there since I was a child. Perfect for swimming, snorkeling, playing beach volleyball or doing other activities on the sand.

Very crowded end of July and August but still great.
Very special to visit off season…

Very beautiful beach. Clean waters and nice temperature. Huge downside was the too many seabeds which they were hugely priced for what they offer

Probably my favorite beach in terms of cool clear waters... As most of the beaches in Mani were very warm (visited during heat wave). There were a variety of beach bars for every one's needs. Lively Sandy beach with a special area for people who like playing volleyball, racquets, etc.
Pauline Digaletos — Google review
The sea is fantastic, and the beach is a very long stretch of soft thick sand. It would be a perfect beach if it wasn’t for the over exploitation with commercial umbrellas all over the nice part of the beach. So either you pay a steep price to get an umbrella in front or you better just watch the pictures online and you spare the hassle. Also arriving here is a mess, there is no indication for parking so everyone goes through a narrow 2-way road where everyone is parking randomly and you need to wait in traffic, which i absolutely despise during holidays. In conclusion: in high season you’d better go somewhere else, in the close vicinity there are much better beaches with a more normal amount of umbrellas and tons of free space

Kalogria beach (Greek: Παραλία Καλόγριας)[1] is the name of a sandy and award-winning with Blue Flag beach[2] that is located in the vicinity of the village Araxos, in Northwestern Peloponnese, Greece. The beach is beside the Sprofylia natural park, it has a length of ~9 Km and width 80m and is one of the longest sandy beaches of Greece.[3][4] The area close to the beach has many sand dunes that are formed by sea sand that moves with the aid of the westerly winds and the Ionian Sea waves. The dunes occupy an area of 200 hectares and can reach heights of up to 10 metres and widths from 20 – 500 metres.[5] At the north edge of the beach there is the largest sand dune in Peloponnese and one of the largest in Greece. The beach is a popular destination for many tourists and Greeks. At a close distance to the beach there are a couple of hotels and restaurants. The airport of Araxos is in a distance of 7 km. The last 10 years there have been many attempts from arsonists to burn the Strofylia forest beside the beach of Kalogria. On 13 August 2015 a fire burned 160 acres of forest.[6] On 17 October 2017 there has been another major incident of forest fire in the protected area and beside Kalogria beach.[7] The results of the wild fires are not easily observable when someone visits the beach from the north (except an area beside the large dune).

the Greek Caribbean water......ABSOLUTELY Gorgeous. the waters are warm I don't know why that was said below, yes too many people and the beach is small but always someone is leaving so you will find a seat. umbrella and 2 seats cost around 8€(just to know). I loved it....

5 Stars for the beautiful crystal waters, sandy beach and green scenery.
3 stars for the fact that three businesses that offer sunbeds and umbrellas have taken over the beach and there is no free space, with outrageous prices of 30€ and 25€ a pair in the front row...

Have always loved stoupa have been there many times over the last 10 years. Saying that it has lost its charm with to many chairs being so close together. Also I feel it's becoming more of a resort and a little over priced 15 euro for a umbrella and chairs Is a little to much. Where as before it was about 7 euro. But still have to say it's a must visit at least once experience. The restaurants are super good with great variety of meals all fantastic love this place but a little pricey. Water is super clear and the service is super friendly

Ancient Messene is a local community located in the Peloponnese region of Greece. It was once a thriving city-state and is now known for its extensive ruins, which are comparable to those of Olympia and Epidavros. Despite their impressive size, Ancient Messini attracts only a fraction of visitors compared to other ancient sites. The ruins include a large theatre, marketplace, Sanctuary of Asclepius, and an intact stadium that is considered one of the most impressive examples from Ancient Greece.
The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Messene, located in Chora of Messenia, is a relatively new museum founded in 1969. It houses collections focusing on the Mycenaean civilization and features beautiful statues. The site itself is well-preserved and less crowded compared to other better-known sites. Visitors can freely explore most of the ruins without restriction and may even spot wildlife like Little Owls among the stones.
A tiny museum housing just few of the findings. The statues of Artemis and Hermes are standing out. You can visit the museum with the same ticket you will buy to enter the archaeological site.

It's not worth it. Skip this place and go directly to Archaeological Museum of Messinia in Kalamata. It has it all plus much more.
Neda Waterfalls is a natural wonder surrounded by lush vegetation, with a thunderous cascade that drops into a beautiful blue-green pool. It is a popular destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers who enjoy swimming and exploring the area. However, visitors should take caution as the path to the falls can be dangerous and tricky, especially for those with small children. Recommended attire includes comfortable hiking shoes or converse sneakers, while heavy backpacks are discouraged.
Amazing creation of the nature! Must visit in the area. Make sure you’re wearing comfortable shoes and clothes because even 650 m. from the parking is some kind of adventure😉 We were there in February and there are no people.

Awesome location, the pathway isn’t hard to go through but I advise you to take shoes instead of flip flops because it’s slippery. First you’ll encounter a smaller waterfall and when you go through it and continue on the path you’ll get to see the bigger one. There is also a hidden chapel. We came there around 8 am and there were no people. We had it all to ourselves and it was August! 🥳🍀

An amazing experience! Swam in the lake under the waterfall , there were two such lakes that are close to each other . The hiking trail was slightly rough but beautiful and you could hear the sounds of rushing water the entire time. The hardest part was walking back up to our car since we didn't want to go all the way down to the bridge as the villagers correctly warned us that we would damage our city car doing that. Highly recommend visiting and bringing a swimsuit to take a dive in the lakes clear waters!! Definitely support the canteen at the start of the trail too , great service!

It's closed..
You can't see the waterfall, as the gate is locked.
Tried to walk along the river, but it wasn't possible for long.
It's a beautiful place, but after that drive down, there's nothing more than the bridge to see, and a little path down to the water.
Me and the families that came after, was very disappointed.
With all this water flowing, I would think the waterfall would be spectacular today.. 😕
I drove 2 hours to get here.
Visited another waterfall closer to kalamata, and it made me cry, it was so beautiful, and you could just keep following the river to the next, and next, and the next, one more spectacular than the other..

Fantastic waterfalls! Visit during spring where the water is plenty. You can swim if the weather is hot!

Definitely with visiting. Two pieces of advise... Don't take young children as the pathway is in some areas very slippery, and definitely not for the unfit as the pathway has a lot of ups and downs. Found out a bit of a struggle but patience made it worth the effort of going there.

During my recent trip to Greece, I had the chance to visit Neda Falls and it was absolutely worth it. The short hike to reach the falls added to the adventure and excitement of the trip. Even though we went in March and the water was cold, it was a refreshing experience and we were prepared for it. What really stood out to me was how peaceful and tranquil the area was. It was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and I was able to fully appreciate the natural surroundings.
One of the highlights of my visit was taking pictures of the falls. The stunning beauty of the area provided the perfect backdrop for capturing some amazing shots. I loved how the sunlight filtered through the trees and illuminated the water, creating a magical and serene atmosphere.
Overall, I highly recommend Neda Falls for anyone looking for a natural escape. It's a perfect destination for those who enjoy hiking, exploring, and appreciating the beauty of nature. It's definitely an experience I won't forget anytime soon.

We knew we had to find it - be ready for a little hike and adventure through the olive trees and make sure you get a swimming suit with you…definitely an experience to try and see!

A place of adventure and beauty of paradise. A must visit place if you love nature. But the way to the fall is very dangerous and tricky if you have a small child with you. Remember this, don't carry any heavy backpack except shoulder bag and wear a good converse shoe or hiking shoe.

A place with the beauty of Paradise, teal blue ice cool water. The small one not suitable for kids and the big one is perfect for small kid. The way to go to the fall is very tricky and dangerous. Keep in mind don't take any hand carry bag. You can take a shoulder bag but not so heavy. Wear a good converse or hiking shoe. If the government make the way accessible for everyone more tourist can visit the place.

Fantastic! There is one falls and then a short walk further the one above. And further still the path leads to an old church and then further still a couple crevasses in the gorges rock walls places where monks of old lodged in really tiny spaces for reasons unknown.
Don't be afraid to enjoy the journey in rain and winter just be prepared and don't attempt it in a too low ground clearance vehicle.
I've walked the whole short trail of Neda 3 times in all seasons using standard rental cars; I've needed to move rocks to fill ruts in the road a few times to ensure safe passage a few times but no big deal.
People encountered are half the joy of it, one family helping an aged overweight mother who insists to make it yearly. The father in the video having lost a family bet must drench in the falls and this was taken wintertime. Wonderful people do the Neda.
Also you may find help there if needed, a man who for a fee or free will Jeep you the last few kilometers where asphalt ends or if you become fearful or stuck beyond.
The video is made around Christmas.

a charming waterfall. to reach it, you will definitely need suitable shoes. the skirt doesn't fit. Yes, you will see how the Greeks go there with babies, in slippers, even with coffee in their hands. This is a pretty tough and dangerous path. You need to be very careful. It will take about 15-20 minutes. at the waterfall itself, you will have a place to stand up and stand. the water is quite cold for swimming. If you have experience of hiking, then you will have fun.

Heed my words - you need a good car that has no issues. The road is really terrible - lots of holes and dirt. I don’t understand why the beginning is so bad and then until 1/3 towards the road gets better.
We decided to stop at some point and walk the rest. This was really exhausting as it was very hot. I also read about “lifts” in some review. There are none. So if you’re stuck anywhere on your way down - good luck.
Nevertheless, there are two little waterfalls/ water places near by the little “cafe”. One two the right (you need to do a little bit of hiking with good shoes) and the water is a bit dirty. Still nice.
And the one the left is really nice. Enjoyed it more and, even though we didn’t go there, following the water it leads to a bigger waterfall that shall be very beautiful.

A very calm and nice experience.
It's a get away from the heat and the noise, worth visiting if you are nearby. Take water and comfortable yet stable footwear. Afternoon or early morning is a good time to visit. Recommend. 👍🏽

Lots of places to park, but can be a bit confusing to get to, with several different routes. Very cold water even when it is 40 degrees. You can go canyoning and abseil down 3 waterfalls with Extreme Tours (have to pre-book).
Jo — Google review
The waterfalls are worth a visit - very beautiful and idyllic.
I recommend parking the car in front of the unpaved. The road to the Neda waterfall parking lot is very bad - partly huge holes and depressions that are difficult to pass with a small car - jeeps and larger SUVs probably have better chances.
It is recommended to go with at least sports shoes, trekking and hiking shoes are even better - the trail is partly ok, it is recommended to walk with caution and calmness along the trail.
Felix Wolfinger — Google review
It's worth the drive (we drove a Fiat Panda)... Beautiful waterfall to see.
The drive to the waterfall is long, with a bumpy dirt road and parts concrete for the last 15 minutes.
If approaching from the north, drive all the way down until and park 50m before the stone walk bridge. There is no carpark - you park on side of the road. Signs at the car park guide you to the Neda Waterfall. A Greek man greeted us, helped with parking, and provided directions.
The walk to the water takes around 15 minutes at a slow pace and has some slippery sections with rope for assistance. There is a small footbridge for the 1st small waterfall, and within 15 meters, yellow arrows point to the large waterfall.
We arrived at 4 pm on a Thursday and enjoyed the place to ourselves for over 30 minutes.
---
NOTE: Google maps stops you 1.5km before the carpark (see photo). So ignore that and drive to bottom.
Glenn Coles — Google review
We visited from athens. We drove about 3.5hr with stops. The last part of the road is gravel and has a slope so the car should have the power to bring you back up. The walk to the fall is about 20min but as mentioned by previous people, slippery at points. The trip is worth it, the water bit cold all in all great. If you visit early it is less busy.
The Archaeological Site at Bassae of Phigaleia is a secluded, well-preserved site located 14km southwest of Andritsena. It boasts a unique temple dedicated to Epicurean Apollo that was constructed between 450 and 400 BCE. This World Heritage-listed site overlooks rugged mountains and hills, providing a breathtaking atmosphere for visitors. Although the temple is partially covered by a steel-girded tent for restoration purposes, it remains magnificent nonetheless.
Getting to this place is not easy. It took me more than an hour driving on the very best (sigh) of the roads Greece has to offer, but it was extremelly worth to visit, the temple is stunning. Of note, you are probably going to be visiting from a way lower situated place, so it would be wise to bring some extra clothing. I didn't realize how high in the mountains the temple is, and was freezing in my shirt.
Jakub Puchala — Google review
It's a long drive up a winding road, but it's worth every bit! Gorgeous and very peaceful location and an incredible temple! Only downside is the marquee-style tent covering the temple, but I guess it's necessary for it's preservation.
PS: With bringing a picnic with you!
John Haygood — Google review
Iktinos would have hated the tent.
Sort the sinking foundations out, put the columns back, and let people walk inside and experience the temple. And I think most classical archaeologists plump for one Corinthian column, not three as in the reconstruction shown.
Oh, and put the plaster cats of the frieze up in the cella. And get the British Museum to hand back the originals they bought illegally.
Simples.
And the temple cat is adorbs...

The next destination is the mountain nest Bassae, 65 km away, with its UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route there runs over small, winding mountain roads and passes with great views, but takes almost 2 hours. When we arrive in the mountain solitude at 1130m above sea level, we are presented with a bizarre sight. The unusually elongated temple of Epicurus Apollon, with 6x15 columns, is packed like a Christo art object. The magnificent building from the 5th century BC. is exceptionally well preserved but in danger of collapsing. Therefore, at the end of the 1980s, there was no hesitation and the whole thing was put into a supporting skeleton and packed weatherproof. The restoration work continues to this day. Here 3 different ancient architectural styles are said to be found and the first chapter of building history. The complex is surrounded by the remains of a small settlement in which cyclamen seem to feel very comfortable.

Very remote place. The story of this temple and its reconstruction is amazing. Note, the route from Pyrgos/Olympia is much much better than from Kalamata. Simos Beach is a renowned destination for summer holidays in Greece, located just 3 km from the main village of Elafonisos, Skala. It boasts fine golden sand dunes and crystal-clear waters, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Accessible by car or boat from Skala village, this sandy paradise offers two beaches meeting to create large sandy hills. The clean waters and pink-tinged sand make it an ideal spot for sunbathing and swimming.
It's a sandy paradise. Basically, two beaches that meet and create big sandy hills. Really nice and clean waters, and you might notice the sand being pink from the sun reflection. It's an easy road to go just 10 minutes from the port, and you should definitely have an umbrella and plenty of sunscreen. Weekdays in June is relatively empty for its size and you will enjoy it to the fullest. Also great for kids.

The Archaeological site of Mystra is a historical attraction that houses artifacts and ruins from the Byzantine era. These findings include sculptures, pottery, coins, and jewelry. The city's remains are extensive and impressive to explore, with a fortress at the top offering stunning views. Although the palace was closed for renovations during our visit, the staff in the ticket booths were very helpful.
Incredible place filled with history. The ruins of the city are expansive and impressive! Sadly, the palace was closed "for construction" which is the main place to visit in my mind (construction and repair of monuments seems to take decades in Greece). The staff in the ticket boxes were super helpful. Recommend driving to the top to see the fortress and then relocate to the bottom carpark to explore the city.

Amazing place, so much history to explore... Nicely organised, the views are breathtaking, most of the monuments are open and in very good shape. The nature around this area (outside the archaeological site) is also perfect for hiking. Definitely will revisit. Keep in mind that in summer it gets hot (especially after 12) and everything is uphill, so come prepared with water, sunscreen...

A large well preserved UNESCO site with Byzantine art and architecture. Be prepared to walk a lot and climb plenty of stairs. There are two entrances, the main entrance that leads you to the small museum and some restored churches and the upper entrance that leads you to the palace and some more restored churches. You will see plenty of centuries-old frescoes and read about life in this site from its beginnings through its glory days up to its present. Plan at least 3 hours for this visit if you want to enjoy all churches. Be prepared for some of them to be closed as there are plenty of works in progress in the site.

Get here early when they open (best parking) or late before they close, as it is very hot and the path up to the castle is steep and rocky. We started at the top and hiked up to the castle ruins, then down to the church. The lower level palace is closed for renovation. We did not see the many churches on the bottom level as it was too hot. Nice views, interesting site…but as with many sites in Greece not presented as well as it could have been. Very interesting example of ancient town being built on a mountain slope. Due to shortage of space it was very densely built. In early 19th century it was totally burnt down during Greek upraisal against Ottoman Turks. So it had to be abandoned and now only ruins are left.

The Open-Air Hydrokinesis Museum in Dimitsana offers a fascinating look into the pre-industrial era of the region. Located 1.6km south of town, this restored complex showcases the watermills and gunpowder mills of the village. Visitors can explore how water power was utilized in various industries such as wool cleaning, leather production, and even the making of Greek grappa.
What a lovely experience! The place had information boards as well as detailed videos and interactive displays! Found out so many things about the preindustrial use of water in Greece, tanning as well as the making of gunpowder, both arts that have now been replaced by machines. It was also interesting to find out that Dimitsana was the gunpowder centre of the 1821 revolution.

In the southern part of the Parnon mountain range, and at an altitude of 650m, rises in all its glory, the monastery of Panagia Elona (the Madona of the area).
The monastery, that its history is dated back to 1300 is built on a steep huge cliff, and it is revealed in all its beauty when traveling on the mountainous road that connects the villages of Leonidio (17 km from the monastery) and Kosmas (14 km from the monastery).
It can be reached by driving on a narrow road that winds up from the valley below, all the way to the top of the cliff.
There are three important dates regarding the Virgin of Elona that are celebrated, on the 15th and 23rd of August and also on the 21st of November, that becomes a local holiday in Leonidio and religious events are held in honor of her at that date.
Bottom line: amazingly beautiful monastery that is definitely worth a visit!

After breakfast by the sea, we check out and continue along the coast road with wonderful views to the village of Leonidio. From here we choose the road into the mountains, which first follows a valley and later winds its way up the mountain in ever steeper bends. Our first stop is the 16th century orthodox monastery of Elonis. It sticks like a swallow's nest under the ledge and you have fantastic views in the morning sun. We are apparently the first visitors and a priest finishes his cell phone call and lights incense as we arrive. In the church there is a lot of gold on the icons and there is a holy spring. On the breakneck path to the monastery you can still take a look at the massive old discarded gate.

Nestled in the heart of the Peloponnese region of Greece, Kapsia Cave is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. Discovered in the late 19th century, this cave has garnered international attention for its stunning geological formations. Despite being relatively unknown to many travelers, it is considered one of the top ten caves in Greece. Guided tours are available every half hour from 09:00 to 15:00, making it accessible for visitors of all ages.
When nature creates, you just admired it!
The state must maintain, guard and highlight.
Citizens must protect, support and support anyone
admirable work of nature especially of our country, otherwise our cultural heritage in a few years will be limited to human constructions.
Kapsia Cave is located in the prefecture of Arcadia, at a distance of 1.5 km. from the homonymous settlement and about 15 km. north of Tripoli.
The photos I present to you are taken with a suitable lens without the
help of extra lighting (flash) but only with the existing installed lighting of the cave so as not to lose the < glamour > of a cave and any damage it could cause.

Kapsia Cave is a breathtaking natural wonder located in the Peloponnese region of Greece. As someone who has had the privilege of exploring the cave, I can confidently say that it is one of the most impressive and awe-inspiring geological formations I have ever seen.
The cave is easily accessible by car and the entrance fee is very reasonable. Once inside, visitors are treated to a spectacular display of stalactites and stalagmites that have been formed over thousands of years. The lighting inside the cave is well-designed and adds to the overall ambiance, highlighting the natural beauty of the cave.
What I particularly appreciated about Kapsia Cave was the way in which it has been developed for tourism without compromising its natural beauty. The walkways and stairs have been carefully designed to blend in with the cave, and the information provided throughout the cave is informative without being intrusive. Visitors can learn about the geological processes that formed the cave as well as the history of its discovery and exploration.
One of the highlights of the visit is the large chamber towards the end of the cave, where visitors can admire the sheer size of the cave and the impressive formations that adorn its walls. The acoustics in the chamber are also noteworthy, and visitors can hear their voices echoing back at them.
Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Kapsia Cave for anyone traveling to the Peloponnese region of Greece. It is a truly remarkable natural wonder that will leave you in awe of the beauty and power of nature.

It is 2km outside Kapsia village. There is a café together with the tickets office, which is good when waiting of for members of the group that would ot take the tour. The cave is quite large, but the walk is approximately 400m, in which one can see a lot (see attached photos). The tour is guided. Our guide was quite good, engaging the audience and with good knowledge about the cave. Overall, I believe that it is value for money!

That was a very nice, entertaining, informative and enjoyable tour. Highly recommend it if you're in the area of Tripoli!
Our tour guide was Sabbas and I must admit it was the best cave tour I've been on in Greece so far.
It seems to be open Monday to Sunday and the last tour is at 14h30. Ticket is 6€ /adult (discount available) and the ticket office is inside the café. There's only a couple of guides so you might have to wait for the previous tour to finish to get the tickets.

This was one of the best cave visits I have ever done. The guide was great, a.d the tour lasted a whole hour. Good for the price! It's beautiful inside, and well lit. Great formations. It's worth the detour here. And there is a nice Cafe to wait in. Tours seem to go every hour or so.

This was a last minute decision to visit and I can’t imagine not going!
This is a breathtaking cave with beautiful written all over it. Our guide, Panagoula was so very nice and sweet it made this so much more enjoyable and special. We were lucky to be in a private tour just the two of us with Panagoula and she explained everything to us in so much detail. The tour lasted about 50 minutes and by the time it was over, I wanted to go through it again!
I can’t believe we have such beautiful sights outside the bigger cities and I couldn’t suggest this place enough! It is indeed in top 10 caves in Greece, so you understand the beauty. Pictures do not do its justice I promise you!
The ticket is 6€ per person and the tours are every one hour (9:30,10:30,11:30 etc).
A MUST VISIT!
Thank you Panagoula for the beautiful tour and for making it so fun!

First of all, I want to say that I was very satisfied with visiting the Kapsia cave! But please note that the cave can only be accessed with a guide and the tours start at specific times. The guide was enthusiastic, with fascinating knowledge and a good sense of humor. And the tour in the caves was very interesting!

Lovely cosy place with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We have visited the cave twice so far. First time in 2018, second - 2024. The personal is lovely and very open to our questions. The cave itself has a rich history only a part of which you learn during the tour (tours are given in english or greek languages)
Всеволод — Google review
Great place to visit when in the region, they have guided walk around a with only 6 Eur ticket (not sure if the guide could make it in English too better check in advance). This cave has some unique features that were very interesting to see.
Konstantinos K — Google review
An unexpected surprise, more like a natural monument than a cave, it felt pretty much like seeing a different planet. The age of the cave makes it a pretty unique experience. The tours are guided only and start at every hour and 30, they alternate greek only with english tours and it feels like a good idea to be able to understand the guide. The tour takes about one hour through a well lit and very well made passageway.

Very nice cave, well preserved, with a variety of stalactites and stalagmites. Ms. Konstantina is an excellent tour guide with a sense of humor! She made the whole experience unique and very enjoyable.

I was blown away by the natural beauty of the cave. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. The lighting added to the ambiance, making the experience even more magical.
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the cave's history and geology. He made the experience so much more interesting and informative.
Wells — Google review
Our experience at the cave was an unexpectedly brilliant experience, and this is due to two main reasons. Earth’s beauty and our guide Konstantina who was amazing, funny and made this visit remarkable! The cave’s part that someone can visit is fairly big and even though I have been to quite a few, it has some very interesting characteristics that are not common to find. Definitely worths a visit if you are around the area of Arcadia region!
Cave of the Lakes, an incredible subterranean wonder, can be found 16.5km south of Kalavryta near Kastria village. The cave boasts 13 stone basins created over time by mineral deposits and features a seasonal river, waterfall, and stunning cauliflower-like rock formations. A 500m boardwalk guides visitors through the vast entrance chamber where five species of bats reside and into the final chamber where delicate curtains cascade down the walls in a breathtaking display.
Amazing cave near Kalavryta!
A great experience 👍🏻
The tour was very interesting, the staff well informed and capable to answer questions.
It is impressive how big the lakes are 👍🏻
Absolutely a must

Went there two weeks ago. The drive was a bit challenging but interesting to see that part of Greece. The mountains are beautiful and the cool caves were worth a visit. 9€ per person but the facility is clean and the interior walkways maintained well. It’s a short tour (1/2 hour) but the guide was nice and the formations were amazing.
Kasia Bennett — Google review
The cave formations are exquisite and the tour is informative. Do note that while the website states 13 lakes and shows photos of people accessing the blue waters by boat, 10 of the lakes are not accessible to tourists and are for scientific study only. You can view 3 lakes, none of which are actually blue. I agree that the tour felt rushed. The museum is surprising good and well done. We spent more time in there learning about the cave.
Yi Lin — Google review
The cave itself is amazing, lots of history in there. It’s a short but impressive tour. You can only enter the cave with a guide. Unfortunately, the guide doesn’t speak any other language but Greek. If you don’t understand Greek, take 5 minutes to read about it on Wikipedia before you enter.
Paul Pantel — Google review
Horrible service/guide. Money-grabbing tourist trap. For €9 the admission price we were rushed through the 500-meter exhibit within 15 minutes, IF THAT. The guide was catering and speaking exclusively with the Greek-speaking customers (it was the 3 of us and 3 others), he said maybe 20 words to us in the beginning and then let us trail at the end. At the end of the “jog” we were told “you should have downloaded the tour app and listened to the virtually-guided tour”, well thanks for that! The cave itself had tall ceiling but the lighting was terrible. You’ve been warned. But don’t take my word for it, read all the other reviews as well.

A short and nice walk on a route of metal bridges that passes through beautiful art of nature
Do not expect a boat trip or any adventurous trip, but it is indeed a very beautiful place that is worth those 30 minutes of your time.
Yogev Neumann — Google review
Very nice cave but better to visit it in Winter or Spring. The only thing was that in this period, because it didn't rain the lakes were empty. And the ticket was a bit expensive for 9 euros per person.
Natasa Boyadjian — Google review
The cave was human disturbed, too many installation, too much light and people noise inside. No respect to the nature habitat!!!
Bilel Trabelsi — Google review
Guide only on Greek. Real life cave looks much simpler as it is on Promi pictures. Instagram syndrome. Don’t expect too much
Michael Rosenfeld — Google review
Ignore the reviews about being rushed etc. its an amazing place and for €9 you get 40 minutes inside one of the most impressive cave systems in the world. Of course there has to be a timed system because there is only one way in and one way out. Lots of people are interested in this place so they’ve got to find a way to make it work. Come with a mindset of seeing something spectacular and ignore everything else - be in the moment!
Lift_Run_Eat_ — Google review
As other reviewers have said, you can only view a small section of the caves (the pictures with boats are very misleading) and all tours are guided. When we visited, water was very low so most of the lakes were empty. Interior is beautiful and impressive, but not large plus photos are not allowed (even without flash). Guided tour was only offered in Italian when we visited, and the app (offering English language information) wasn't working. We also were not allowed to browse the museum independently. Overall cost felt very high for the length of time it took to view the caves (9EUR per person for at most 30 minutes), and compared to other Greek attractions.
Nick Gu — Google review
The photos of the blue lakes with boats are not representative of the experience, although the cave is still worth visiting. The guide hurried us through and there was little chance to gaze at the formations, which is what you want to do. It was over in 25 minutes. Disappointing. The museum however is excellent and the guide there spoke very good English.
Jo McEwen — Google review
It's a fantastic location. The cost was the issue. It costs too much. We spent 9 euros per person for a tour that lasted 30 minutes.
Despite the fact that it was so expensive, I still recommend visiting. You will witness something really rare and amazing.
Μανόλης Νταμαδάκης — Google review
These caves have some pretty spectacular rock formations. Unfortunately for us the water was really low when we visited so we didn't get the full effect of the lakes, still worth the visit. If the lakes are full it might have been a 5 star visit.

I liked it very much. It was very exciting being in this large cave. The guide was interesting, and the museum is beautiful and interesting as well.
It was nice to know ahead (from the reviews) that you can’t actually reach the pools.
Unlike others, I think it is worth the drive.

Very interesting and easily accessible tour. The caves and the history about them make it worth the while. However, the walkways were very narrow and they had groups coming and going at the same time, causing congestion and crowding in tight spots that hindered the experience.
A snow park with obstacles & jumps, plus skiing, sledging & snowmobiling, in a winter resort.
Highly recommend! Nice ski slopes and beautiful chalet!

This place has "the vibes". Feels like a "family" to me... from the people who work there all the way to the management its too personal and when I go there I feel like home. Also they show interest in us ski mountaineers and care for our safety even when leaving the ski resort area. Chelmos mountain ⛰️ definitely has some extreme and challenging places to ski mountaineer with amazing descents. Gullys, south slopes and a lot of cliffs ✌️
Emmanouel Armoutakis — Google review
Nice pistes! Good vibe. Also the village is lovely.
Improvement: The skilifts go very fast, makes it difficult and a little dangerous to get in for beginners or older people. Would be nice if all staff was trained to focus on safety and stop the lift if needed, we noticed not all the staff does it :-)

It was an out of season visit, and the ski center was closed. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery on our way to kalavryta.
Paraskevi Tsakou — Google review
We wanted to just go and see the views. Did not go to ski or anything else. Firstly 15 euros just to take you up once as a tourist is an insane price, but nevertheless. We went up to the first level, and then as we tried to go to the second teleferik, a man stopped us and did not permit us to proceed. After arguing with him, he essentially told us to F off and go back to the reception. We went immediately back to the reception to demand a refund or at least a grant to the higher levels since we only wanted to take pictures. They essentially told me to F off as well. Eveyone was very rude to us. Extremely pricey, and will not recommend it to anyone that wants to actually see the view and take a small trip to the top.

Lake Doxa, also known as Limni Doxa, is an artificial lake located in western Corinthia, Greece. Situated at an elevation of 900 meters, it offers a stunning Alpine-like landscape throughout the year. The area is surrounded by lush wooded shores and features nature trails for hiking and cycling. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as horseback riding and hydrobiking on the lake.

Lake Doxa offers an amazing Alpine-like landscape all year round. Maybe in winter the scenery gets more dramatic and movie-like. Prefer to visit on days of non-public holidays as it gets really crowded. Thus you'll get to experience the beauty and silence of nature in all its glory. Hiking, horse riding and canoe are some of the activities you can enjoy while you're here. You can also see Lake Doxa in a recent travel film (along with nearby villages and the region of Stymphalia) called WanderSoul: Beyond the road which I'll list below. If you love nature and the mountain region of Corinthia, this is definitely worth a watch...

Lake Doxa (Greek: Λίμνη Δόξα, romanized: Limni Doxa) is an artificial lake in western Corinthia, Greece. It is situated at an elevation of 900 m' In the heart of the lake on a small peninsula features a small church of Agios Fanourios. The area of Lake, which has been declared as NATURA area, is of outstanding natural beauty and receives many visitors. The only negative I saw was the small makeshift shops from the vendors near the chapel that spoiled the image of the landscape.
There could be small uniform shops in a row made of wood or some material that would fit the landscape.

Karathona beach is a picturesque and appealing coastal destination in Nafplio. It boasts of crystal clear waters and a vast expanse of sandy shores lined with palapas, making it an ideal spot for swimming and sunbathing. The shallow water and sand make it perfect for families with kids, while nearby cafes and small restaurants provide basic amenities. Despite being illegal, many visitors set up camping or park caravans there to spend the night, especially during summer when great events take place.

This imposing Venetian-built fortress is a popular tourist destination with amazing views of the Argolic Gulf. It was used as a fortress and prison by successive rulers, but is now one of the town's main attractions with its iconic interlocking bastions that you can walk along. The fortress can be reached either by steep ascent on foot or a short drive from the town.
Visited early on a February morning (8:30) open time and there were only a couple of other people in the whole complex.
Admission is 4.50 winter
We drove up but you can also climb about 900 stairs to the top.
Great views of Nafplio and the super yacht Maltese Falcon.

If you are visiting Nafplio, I wouldn't miss visiting the Fortress. My girlfriend, our 12 year old daughter and I were here and spent roughly 3 hours exploring and we had a very nice and tiring time. Be prepared to duck, crouch and thoroughly enjoy yourself. Beautiful surroundings and it wasn't crowded at all.

Visited March 31st. The spring has bloomed. Flowers everywhere. Purple and red colors. The climb to the top was difficult since my sister and myself are not the fittest people on earth. But the climb was WORTH IT. Views are to die for. Highly recommend. Tickets are €4 up until March 31st and after that beginning April 1st they are €8. Pricey tickets but worth it. We were tired by the time we climbed up so we took a taxi back down to our hotel. Taxi costs €10.

This venetian fortress is a very nice place to explore. You can access it by car or by foot, but be aware that if you want to go by foot, be prepared to climb 999 stairs (this is the local saying, I would say that is even more 😅). The view from the stairs is amazing

🏰 Fortress of Palamidi 🌄
What an awe-inspiring fortress! The Fortress of Palamidi perched high above Nafplio offers breathtaking views of the town and the sea. Its impressive architecture and historical significance make it a must-visit destination for history buffs like myself. The climb up the steep steps was well worth the effort as I explored the various bastions and enjoyed the panoramic vistas. The rich history and well-preserved structure make this place a captivating experience. If you're in Nafplio, don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in this magnificent piece of Greek history. Highly recommended!
Gabe Buckner — Google review
Palamidi is an impressive fort above Nafplio with outstanding views. Be aware that it's around 1000 steps(!) to the very top up the stairway. It's quite expensive to get in though, the ticket office is at the top and it's E8 per person (kids under 18 free, and also discounts for 18-25s from EU countries). There's a prison cell and a small church at the top, along with a small cafe and toilets. Worth it for the views, but only just. If you want to save some cash you can just hike 2/3 of the way up the stairs and enjoy the view... But do it before midday when the sun starts shining on the stairway...

A large fortress on top of the highest point in the area, with fantastic and commanding views of the whole area. It gets very busy at weekends, especially just after the schools break up. You have to be physically able to attempt the climb up the stairs. The alternative is the road entrance although parking is limited.

This great archeological sight showcases both great architecture and the jail cell of a man who participated in the Greek war for independence. It's a great place to visit if you are staying in Nafplio. I spent quite a long time here, looking at every crevice and the picturesque view. It would have been quite a great idea to explain the cell and the general fortress in a better way. For example to show the history of it and the events that took place there. Sure there were some signs but they did not specify anything.

A more recent fortress than all the other archeological sites nearby. It has nice views and is well maintained. Not sure how crowded it is in a more touristic season, but when we went in January it was ideal.

Walking the 950+ stairs is a challenge and dangerous in parts. But the rewards are many with an ice cold water fountain at the ticket booth and some stunning views. The site itself is brilliant. Very large and again some very dangerous areas where you could plunge to your death but with care and being sensible, climbing over this structure and reading its history is brilliant.

Amazing place of history. An expansive site. Views to die for. We arrived by car. Not a lot of parking available but lucky it was the off season (early October). I did notice that there was a open top hop on hop off bus that probably came from Napflion. Would probably be the best option in peak season instead of the 99 steps or drive.

Tolo Beach is a sandy beach with crystal blue and warm waters. What distinguishes this beach from others is the presence of restaurants that offer tables and chairs right by the water, allowing visitors to enjoy delicious food while taking in the beautiful view. This makes it an attractive option for those who don't want to spend their day lounging on a chair or towel.

The beach is sandy and the water is not cold. The sea 🌊 is clean and good for little children because it's not deep. In the morning the water is calm, the afternoons are little windy with some waves. Nice place if you don't mind the crowd. The set of umbrella and sunbeds costs 10 euro without consuming drinks. I don't like that there aren't toilets only eco ones which are disgusting.

An excellent beach for relaxing with children under 4 years of age is ideal because of a small uniform approach to the sea, sand. Taverns are monotonous, it's a minus, two supermarkets with adequate prices. For families with children, Tolo resort is definitely recommended.

The Treasury of Atreus, also known as the Tomb of Agamemnon, is a burial mound dating back to 1250 BC and is believed to hold the remains of a Mycenaean-era ruler. Located at the south of the Mani peninsula, it offers a beautiful 2km walk along an uneven rocky path from the car park in Kokinogia. The site is part of a larger archaeological area and provides access to other ancient sites with the same ticket.
A wondrous visit. Visited the Treasury of Atrius as part of an all day coach tour.
Visited the first week of April. No queues and very speedy entrance into the site. The treasury was the last aspect of my visit before leaving.
Definitely advise visiting with a guide or get a good guidebook. The history (story) of the place is what makes this location mythical.

Only one structure but just a massive feat to see how the designed and built this centuries ago. Included with your entrance to the larger archeological site so why not stop. When you get to the opening and look up it makes you pause and realize the engineering marvel this was.

This is one of the many impressive constructions that can be found in the area. Currently, the ticket prices are 12€ for adults and half for children. Keep your ticket because it applies for both archaeological sites (the tomb and the acropolis).

Another interesting Antic greek monument. We all learn about Mycenian culture in our history lessons during our high school education, but still I was amazed with this stunning 15 meters high ancient buildigs.

It is a miracle how the ancient Greeks cut, moved and lifted the huge rocks to build it. Just look at the huge piece of rock between the gate and the triangle, it is amazing.

Treasure of Atreus, tomb of Atreus or tomb of Agamemnon is a tholos located on the hill of Panagitsa, just outside Mycenae, and built during the Bronze Age, around 1250 BC, is a funerary monument with a circular ground plan of reference. It is the most monumental surviving vaulted tomb in Greece. The lintel stone over the door weighs 120 tons, the largest in the world. Mentioned by Pausanias, it was still visible in 1879 when the German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann discovered the shaft tombs under the "agora" on the Acropolis at Mycenae. It is well worth a visit, as is the entire site.

Spectacular location. The ruins are not so spectacular but well worth a visit. Museum is quite disappointing considering the history of the site. The 12 Century fire seemed to have wiped out most of its artifacts and significance as a place of power. Easy to imagine it as it was though and it retains its ancient feel.

Worth seeing to understand how kings were butried more than 3 thousands years ago. Impressive to see the structure built withoit modern technology.

Located beside Archaeological site of Mycenae, took a short time to visit. The ticket was the same as the one for Archaeological site, and no need to pay extra. When was inside the Tomb, was quiet and dark, felt the ghost around! Watch them :))

This is a small archaeological site close to the mulch larger Mycenaean ruins on a nearby hillside. It is well worth a visit though as it really is impressive.
We were there on a weekday in early October so avoided the large numbers of tourists. The main site takes less than half an hour to walk around.
Our tickets gave us entry to multiple ancient sites/museums, including Mycenae and others - all for €20 a bargain.

Amazing to see a mixed historical site going beyond ancient Greece to the bronze age. Lovely setting. Car park and toilets.

Incredible architecture and an important site for Mycaenean/ Greek history.
It is only one tomb to view but worth the visit especially since you get access to the rest of the archaeological site (500m up the road) with the same ticket.
There is not much info at the site for you to read, so I suggest reading up on this site before you enter.
No queues to get in here but there were lots of large groups turning up afterwards so be aware that it can get busy at points in the day.

Out of this world. The tomb of Atreus is incredible. Can't comprehend the level of workmanship done thousands of years ago!
The Ancient Mycenae is an ancient Greek archaeological site that dates back to the 12th century BC. It is located in the barren foothills of Mt Agios Ilias and Mt Zara, and it includes remains of an acropolis, palace, and tomb. This kingdom was a dominant force in Greece for over 400 years (1600-1200 BC) and exerted influence over other Mycenaean kingdoms.
I fell in love with this place; I went twice in 2 days!
So much to see, any historian or otherwise would be enchanted.
The artifacts and premises are kept exceptionally well, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
I would love to return one day, God willing!

Beautiful site: the museum has all the information and great objects; the site itself is large and you can walk through the ruins. It costs €12 which includes another site nearby (a must see as well). It is not wheelchair accessible and you need proper trainers to walk around. The surrounding hills / mountains create a fantastic landscape.
Laura Porro — Google review
Without any advance information about what you'll see, one could be disappointed. A rocky outcrop, big walls, a cool gateway. That's what you'll come away with...
But do a little bit of googling about the Mycenaeans and the treasure that was found here you appreciate it all the better.
Maybe visit the on-site museum first.
Finally, everyone on a Greek Tour goes here so be prepared for crowds at certain times of the day.

Breathtaking! So, I decided to pay the King and Queen a visit. Had a couple issues to discuss, but by the time I got to the top, totally forgot what was on my mind. Just looking at the views and trying to imagine the days of bygone years. A definite must see!

It is very difficult to find words to describe the emotions this place evokes. To walk around the ancient Acropolis of Mycenae meant walking in the footsteps of my ancestors and admire what they had achieved. The route around the ruins took about an hour and each location had an information board describing what each building was. The views of the valley were breathtaking, and the tombs along with the Lion Gate were awe-inspiring.

This was one of the unexpected delights of our trip in Greece. I was not aware of this archaeological site prior to visiting, but it ended up being my favorite. The tomb is breathtaking due to its sheer scale and level of preservation. The rest of the site is on a steep hill, which was very windy when we visited. The views are amazing and the ancient site is very interesting. I recommend visiting with a guide.

Lovely historical site. Especially good with a licensed guide. Museum is fantastic! The site is wonderful but there could be better markings as to where you are on the site so you know how to get back to the museum. Especially if you have a time constraint.

Mycenae deserve a visit, the city is on top on a hill and what is still visible of the walls is impressive. You buy an unique ticket for the Museum, Agamemnon's tomb and the city. Beautiful.

Fantastic and extensive ruins with some parts dating back 5,000 years and a must see in the Nafplio area. Informative signage throughout in Greek and English make the visit much more interesting. Some parts of the site are accessible for mobility impaired but not all. Interesting trails below the citadel lead to beehive tombs-- don't miss these! The museum on the same grounds hold the collections taken from the excavations and gives context to the visit. Don't miss it. Be aware this is a stop on many tourist itineraries and it can be crowded with tour groups.

Breathtaking to walk the halls of Agamemnon and the house of Atreus. You can feel the epic of Homer here. The ruins are in pretty remarkable shape and well labeled. The site has a museum in walking distance. One thing I higjly recommend is to go to the center of the two tholos style tombs (Atreus and Lion). The acoustics are amazing.

Very enjoyable trip to famous historical site. Probably 1-2 hours needed. Great views both is the site itself and also the surrounding area. The place wasn't too busy, although we had to wait a few minutes for a parking space. Bring plenty of water as we couldn't find a water fountain on site, although there was a small shop selling drinks.

We came here as part of a tour group, taking us through the museum and giving us more context to the ruins. To think that we are looking at over 3,000 years of history is amazing. I would recommend exploring the museum and taking your time to appreciate the ruins and check out the north side, and not just rush through the main parts

Located on the hills with sharp sunshine in a hot day. Since it located in a remote area, needed to consider 1 – 2 hours to visit the site properly, it made me a bit tired, considering driving back to the city. Luckily had convenient shoes for climbing on soil and stones. Site included a museum, and staff were nice. Beside each section, proper information was provided which I liked.
If planning to see the site, don’t forget memorial picture under Lion Gate.

This was a surprise trip for my group while heading to Athens. It was worth it! Be sure to get a local guide bc there is so much to learn, and otherwise you won't know what you're looking at. The climb wasn't bad and the views from the top were worth it. 360 views of Greece, and a little peak of the sea.

One of the most impressive archeological sites out there. The glory days of this place were more than 3000 years ago, yet this place makes these times come alive. Marvel at the wonders of the architecture, but also take in the simpleness of it all. These are the scales of things one should be imagining when reading Homer.
Truly fascinating place

Fascinating place to visit especially if you've seen the treasures in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. Wear decent shoes and a hat as it's on a hillside with no shade. Tomb of Clytemnestra was quite eerie, more so than the larger tomb of Agamemnon a bit further down the road.

Magnificent Mycenae Palace, the unique entrance of the lions, the tomps, the museum. The only problem was that in wintertime, the opening hour is till 15:30 even in Google was written till 20:00. The Archaeological Museum of the Asclepieion of Epidaurus is a small museum located inside a splendid Venetian building. It showcases the social development of Argolis, from ancient hunter-gatherers to more recent times. The museum houses findings from the surrounding sites, including the spectacular ruins of an enormous theater that is still in use today. This marvel of ancient engineering can hold up to 14,000 people and is renowned for its almost perfect acoustics.
Very small but worth checking out to make the 12€ ticket to Epidavros worth it.
Amazing stones with scriptures and beautiful statues.

The museum is realy small and highly neglected. It's collection has been plundered from the national museum in Athens leaving mostly replicas behind. Its exhibition is very old fashioned and a bit confusing. The museum collection has some great building parts from the roofs of the ancient temples of the area that are really impressive.
But although the museum has its problems the archaeological site is one of the top sites in Greece. The ancient theatre is huge and well preserved (athens theater festival is hosted every summer there). And the remains of the buildings and the temples are really interesting and nicely presented.

Museum has a really impressive collection. I would have preferred if the building was larger and able to take more visitors without making crowd, however the collection is truly impressive
The amphitheater at the Asclepieion of Epidaurus, constructed in 340 BCE and made from limestone, is one of the best-preserved Classical Greek structures still standing. It boasts exceptional acoustics; even a dropped coin in its centre can be heard from the highest seat. The theatre accommodates up to 14,000 individuals and features restored Corinthian pilasters flanking its entrance.
This is definitely worth the drive from Athens. In fact, the drive was one of the highlights. The scenery along the way is beautiful. The theater itself is impressive and so are the surrounding ruins. You can see that there have been attempts to reconstruct some of the buildings but it doesn't look like any progress has been made in some time.

Incredible site. Larger in size than Ancient Mycenae, and the restored theater is fabulous. Stroll the full grounds to see layers of history. Good signage with descriptions in both Greek and English. The small Museum is also worth a look. They have the only (?) fully preserved capital of a pillar on display there.

Fantastic and so well-preserved. If you are able, climb to the top and sit in the shade of the trees. It is cool, quiet (though this was in late May, not sure how it would be in high season) and you really get to experience how fantastic the acoustics are, as you can hear so much of what is said at the bottom. Museum and ruins are worth a visit too; on the same site and included in ticket price.

It is difficult to believe such a well designed was built in the 4th century BC. The sound quality is amazing, so easy to hear from the top. This is a treasure.
The museum is not really worth the time. The hospital is also a site that needs guidance to paint the picture. If you are short on time, head to the amphitheatre.

It has natural fantastic acoustics. If you come in a group, split in two. One satying in orchestra ring at the bottom an other half i a top row to feel it. And bear in mind how long ago it was built.

Initially lots of antique rocks, but when you visit it you stay speechless, because it's huge and the way it's built gives very good acoustic even to the highest row of the amphitheatre. There's good infrastructure for parking and good tables with information.

The acoustics are excellent. This is one of the few remaining ancient amphitheaters in existence and probably the best preserved.

Fascinating ancient amphitheater that has the best acoustics in the world which are still not fully understood - limestone, channels in seating, positioning in the hillside, other contributing factors… plus the site still hosts live theater & music every summer! It’s fun to try it out yourself; stand in the center of the stage and whisper a message- it will be heard clearly at the top row. Added bonus is the small but interesting museum with artifacts found on the site including a World Heritage site of ancient medicine.

The theatre as an archaeological site is definitely worth the traveler’s attention. A magnificent piece of architecture and acoustics still holds performances in the summer. The museum is small but you can get all the information needed to understand the function of the site as a whole.
Apart from the theatre there was a complex with various buildings, including temples and sanctuaries, dorms, baths, a stadium and of course the temple of Asclepius where people received treatment through the process of enkoimesis.
You can also enjoy the nature around the site with all its peace and tranquility.
There is a museum shop and a cafe as well.

We came here just for the theatre but had a fantastic time with the museum and site of the sanctuary of Asclepius too. The theatre's acoustic is remarkable and as excellent as everyone says. It's an experience unlike any other. The museum is small, but packed with interesting items for the history of medicine and close views of some architectural sculpture. The site of the sanctuary of Asclepius has some great way finding signage. The billboards for the individual buildings are not very well designed for non-experts, but the chance to wander through some ancient ruins was excellent. We were charged 12 euros for the whole visit, which is pricier than other local sites but well worth it in my opinion.

Like any Greek theater, this place is magnificent. This is of course my first visit to Greece and this stopover was worth it. Despite the large number of tourists visiting this place, entry is smooth. No more than 5 minutes to get the entrance ticket (it's in October so that's understandable). In 1h30, you can visit the theater and the archaeological site. It's truly magnificent, you go back in time in the blink of an eye. If you go to Greece, take a trip to Epidavros, a calm and quiet town, especially the ancient town.
Acrocorinth is a historical site located at the foothills of Corinthian Acropolis. It offers evidence of various invasions throughout history and provides stunning views of the Corinthian and Saronic Gulfs. The ruins of the ancient city include the Temple of Apollo from the 6th century BC, Peirene Fountain, Agora where Paul's trial took place, and Bema.
Impressive castle, with a long, long history. Some more info at the archaeological site would be nice!

There's no toilet, and it's HUGE, so bring water with you, I was visiting in winter, but I still wish I had brought water and maybe an energy bar, even though I ate just before going up.
You can definitely spend hours here, and it is a decent exercise getting around.
I definitely loved the spring, just the thought of seeing this (like an animated version of how it would have looked) when it was beaming, with all the houses, people and animals...
You can still see the walls of the town houses, and some of the streets.
It's in no way wheelchair or friendly to someone who struggle with getting around, it's a climb, the stones are smooth from all the feet that has walked there.
I was a bit worried about sliding myself.
PS it's free.

Amazing old town. It's located only in 80 km from Athens. I highly recommend for visiting all who like history. We were on the end of November - it is the best time for walking here because it was not hot and we enjoyed every old building and reminded a lot of stories about Korinthos.
Ancient Corinth is a well-preserved archaeological site that offers a glimpse into the Roman city's history. The remains include temples, fountains, theaters, and ornate columns that stand as a testament to ancient Greek architectural skill. The Temple of Apollo is particularly picturesque with its fluted columns surrounded by wildflowers and mountain peaks in the background. Nearby attractions such as the Medieval Castle of Acrocorinth and Ancient Nemea offer additional historical exploration.
Don't miss this place when visiting the area! The beautiful ancient, witch was one of the more important ones from history, along with the amazing museum really teach you a lot about ancient Greece. It's absolutely amazing how the giant pillars and the statues managed to survive so long! Sadly, I was in a rush and only managed to visit the central area, where the museum is so I will definitely visit this place again!

This is an amazing site rich in classic Greek history, especially the stories about the commerce, the development and the life including the open attitudes towards sexual relations. It is hard to imagine the sophisticated lifestyle that flourished when other civilizations were still in the stone age.

The site is fairly well laid out and easy to navigate. There is a small museum on site where you can escape the sun in case it gets too hot.
There’s a lot to admire about this place.
It is a bit cut off so transportation without a car may have to be planned meticulously.
The views from the grounds are stunning especially on a clear sunny day.
And don’t forget to visit the Acropolis which is free and also nearby.

Cannot say enough about this place. I enjoyed the museum and walking around on my own taking time to read almost every plaque. Next time I will pay for a tour though I’ve since learned the tours are excellent.

Absolutely Amazing ! If you are in the Athens are. its only a short 1 hour drive away, We hired a car from the hotel and arrived late morning (beat the heat) to see a gorgeous valley that has a castle like fortress overlooking the ruins . We self guided the site and took hundreds of photos of all the unbelievable artifacts but on hind site would definitely hire a guide for the a full historical experience , truly a must see.

Corinth is a site that is not over crowded and serves as a great look into Biblical history. Take your time to read the different historical information stations to learn what you are looking at. I highly recommend using a guide at this site to get all the insight from the area. It is absolutely breathtaking.

This is an excellent exhibit of ruins. They have an outdoor area with tons to see. And there are signs and a walking path to inform and direct. Moreover, they have an indoor museum which I found amazing. Many artifacts and informative signs.

Excellent museum and site. It is particularly of interest to students of the Book of Acts and the letters of Paul since he spent much time starting and building a congregation here. Interesting aspects of burial customs on display and explained.

One of the top Classical Greek archaeological sites in Greece. Large and diverse. It also has a small but interesting museum though not as spectacular as many others. Still worth visiting.

Nice historical place to see. The museum is also good and should be visited. Use the parking area before coming up the hill. There are more parking slots available near the entrance, but the exit is away from the entrance so the way is shorter using the first parking area.

Very few visitors (can be because of the 40+ °C temperatures). Very large and beautiful excavation site.
The only star deduction: not everything was allowed to be photographed in the museum...

A very beautiful historical place of birth and spread of Christianity. Happy to visit where the ancient Greeks read the letters of the apostles.

Wonderful site! The ruins and the museum are both interesting, and the landscape around is impressive.

Neat place to visit with a museum on site to give you a glimpse of history. Be aware, Ancient Corinth is actually quite small, in fact, a bit underwhelming. Beat the tour busses and opt for a private or small tour. Big busses make predictable stops at tout traps along the way. Not much to see in or around this spot but worth a visit to see where the Apostle Paul had influence.

Nice place, but not that impressive after seeing much better ones around, especially in Athens. I believe the entrance fee is 8€, but you can see a lot without even getting in.

A wonderful day trip away from the crowded Athens. There are several sites in the area that you can visit but must have a car ,as without is quute challenging to visit.

Lots of ruins, many well-preserved structures, arguably better than the Athenian agora. Spend about 45 mins here in your visit to Corinth.
Architectural site built around 560 B.C.E., this limestone temple sits on an imposing, rocky hill.
Temple of Apollo quite interesting historical site we had an excellent Lady guide who explained in detail the history

Caretakers decide based on their mood if they want to be open or not during the off season. I was very interested in the history of this site but they weren't interested in letting me walk around this outdoor space. It's gated so they are in control. Too bad they want to keep history to themselves.

These places are super special almost sacred for us to visit and enjoy today. I loved visiting the remains of an ancient culture up close and personal.

The site was a lot bigger than I expected! Located in the middle of a quiet neighborhood, the site showcases extensive collections of artifacts and informational panels to walk you through the start to end of the ancient city of Corinth. Shops are located right outside of the archaeological site exit, so perfect for sourvenir shopping to commemorate the exterience as well as getting some refreshments after walking around the site.

If you enjoy and appreciate Greek history or mythology, go! It is humbling to stand in the places the ancients did 4000 years ago and imagine what it looked like in its prime.

Busy day with school children and tours, but the area has a solid museum show casing statues and other artifacts across the site. The site is large so leave plenty of time to walk outside after the museum and read about the temple and other structures, both Greek and Roman.

Smaller site than what we've seen before in Greece but definitely nice and it has the best museum we've visited at a archaeological site.

Beautiful historical site. It's a nice stop if you are in the Korinthou area

This is an amazing site rich in classic Greek history, especially the stories about the commerce, the development and the life including the open attitudes towards sexual relations. It is hard to imagine the sophisticated lifestyle that flourished when other civilizations were still in the stone age.
The museum is larger than it looks, and the site is large. Plan on a couple of hours. Note there is only one male and one female restroom so plan accordingly.

A must see piece of ancient history, the trip up the mountain is an experience in itself, one of the most breathtaking and beautiful sites in the world

Greece's second most important archeological site. Impressive, wonderful adjacent museum. After touring the site you can relax and have a bite in the charming town of ancient Corinth at the many tavernas and cafes or pick up some souvenirs, ceramics at several shops in the square. We'll worth the visit.

The museum is very nice, complete and full of explanations and ancient relics from different times. Very interesting and informing.
On the other hand, the proper site with the ruins and ancient buildings, which are beautiful, weren’t followed with the same attention.
Only a few signs describing them, it felt like we lost something.
Still, it’s a good experience, and I recommend it.

The Bema, which a large elevated platform standing prominently in the centre of the site is where St. Paul is said to have addressed the ancient Greeks. The feeling of having stood where St. Paul might trod is priceless.

Pretty decent place. What's special is actually not the place, but the walk up through the pretty village square. Nothing very impressive about the place itself. The museum is interesting to some part. There is parking available right next to the place.
