The Ibis Carcassonne Centre La Cité is a clean and comfortable hotel located close to the city centre in Carcassonne. The staff are efficient and helpful, and the rooms are spacious and well-equipped with free Wi-Fi. There is parking available underneath the square.
Good bed, good view, bathroom very little.
Service was excelent.
Breakfast very good, need to clean up the tables more faster.
Front desk excellent and very helpful. Thre show us where to go for dinner, and the way to the old town.

Karen at reception was so rude. She threatened to call the police on us several times for talking in the bar area, although she was serving us drinks…. Please make it make it sense??? If you serve drink at a bar all hours of the night then you should expect us to speak at a reasonable volume, not whisper! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
dillon redmond — Google review
For an Ibis hotel this is a good hotel because of the central location and 24/7 reception and bar. Also a large underground parking facility just in front of the hotel for 7 euro per day. Walking distance to the Carcassonne Castel.
Rooms are in Ibis style, meaning small, tasteless but it serves okay as bedroom.
Dave Visser — Google review
A clean hotel just off Gambetta Square about 10 minutes from the centre of Carcassonne and 20 minutes from the Cité. Mine was a last minute booking because of the travel disruption due to the Tour de France. I found the staff to be efficient and helpful, even finding a charger for my phone. There is parking underneath the square.

Staff were excellent, helpful. Breakfast hit and miss, shortage of sliced bread, hardly any fruit (grapefruit, orange etc), toaster broke, just one morning of our 3 day stay, other days were okay.

Good location and would recommend the breakfast.
Air-con does not work and the room could have been a bit cleaner - coffee cup stains on the dresser.
Luke Hall — Google review
I know this is a hotel, but it has a welcoming bar but unfortunately as 'a non guest ' we can't use it. It's a shame because actually there isn't many places open in Carcassonne open for drinks. Lesson i've learnt in France, book in advance and don't expect to be welcomed as a walk in customer. It's a culture shock as a fellow European :S
Mark B — Google review
We stayed here for 2 nights and we had a good experience. The rooms have air conditioning and have WiFi and TV. The reception area is welcoming and the staff are very friendly. There is a bar which is well equipped and a breakfast area which is buffet only. Overall a great place to stay.
John Landry — Google review
The hotel was convenient for both the medieval castle and the town centre.
We arrived via the airport shuttle bus, cost €6 pp.
The rooms were quite small but had everything you needed, except tea & coffee making facilities. The shower was excellent. The beds & pillows were comfy.
The tv only had BBC news in English.
There was a good choice for breakfast, but the only hot option was scrambled eggs. You could squeeze your own fresh orange juice.
The staff spoke very little English.
Louise M — Google review
At more than 100 euros per night you wouldn't call it cheap. Sure, breakfast is very rich, but prices at the bar are outrageous with 3.5 euro for the Evian! The rooms and the bathrooms are really small, lacking such basics as fridge, waste basket and providing only two and a half medium sized towels.
The worst is that housekeeping isn't meticulous, dirt from washing the paws of our dog wasn't cleaned in the shower (keep in mind that they are charging 5 euros per day for pets). Empty bottles or other used glasses not taken away (remember no waste basket in the room!).
The location though is good, both for the castle as for the center and the staff pleasant.
Irene Cotrina — Google review
Definitely the worst Ibis i've stayed in. Rooms are an okay size but the toilets are tiny, you could just about sit on the toilet, wash your hands and shower all at the same time. The air con wasnt up to much tried it on all settings but it was more like a fan just blowing hot air around. Location was perfect but unfortunately thats all it had going for it.
Greegs — Google review
Stayed for one night when we travelled over for the rugby league. The rooms were small but comfortable and clean. There was a lot of noise from doors banging from early in the morning which disturbed my sleep. Breakfast was good (continental) for 10 euros.

Ideally located in a protected area, it will offer you, in addition to the sympathy and the smile of the beachgoers, a catering area, very refreshing non-alcoholic cocktail. (Translated by Google) We created the asylium room with 4 people last May. We were very disappointed by the welcome. In fact, we had the impression that the game master was not at all happy to welcome us. No role play, no discussion at the end of the game and she even made a mistake in her introductory script ("uh no that's not it, sorry")... Once in the room, a multitude of puzzles with a lot of incoherence, very little scenery and a total absence of fear and adrenaline. This is the first escape game room where we were bored. I do not recommend this room at all and even less for players looking for thrills!

The Office de Tourisme & des Congrès Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole is a valuable resource for visitors to Montpellier. Located on the east end of Place de la Comedie, it offers a 10-ride ticket for the local tram system and provides helpful navigation tips. The staff, including Elisabetta and Giovanni, are praised for their kindness and assistance in transportation needs and excursion suggestions.
Really a nice place, filled with sweet people. We came with no other expectations than learn what were the places to see around. The man in the office immediately gave us a map, where he pointed out the different attractions the city has to offer. Circling with a pen everything on the map while giving a brief summary of what to see there. He even told us about where to eat in the old city. Nothing to complain about concerning the staff, and the office itself was well-located, visible from afar and indicated by a lot of signs.

Belated compliments to your tour guide Wim who gave me the best introduction to magnificent Montpellier on a very unpleasant rainy day earlier in March. Wim’s expert knowledge of his adopted city made it a brilliant afternoon . 👏

This branch of the Office de Tourisme is the easiest to get to if you happen to be in Montpellier for a short time. It's at the busiest crossroads of the center of the city, the point where there major axes meet.

Just brilliant. Efficient, well informed member of staff found us a range of events to attend for each of the 4 days and evenings we were in Montpellier. The tables and chairs where you can look at choices and work out feasibility are a very good idea.

30 All. Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, 34000 Montpellier, France
Pic Saint-Loup is a renowned 2159-ft mountain peak that boasts of an old chapel, hermitage, cross and watchtower. Visitors are advised to search for the car park in Cazevieille as Google Maps may lead them astray. The right path can be identified by a French sign at the fork which leads to the top. The walk takes approximately two hours and requires at least 3-4L of water for two adults and two children.
AMAZING HIKE!!!!
I went to the Pic Saint Loup with friends and it was AMAZING! It was a nice hike with amazing views and a safe path. Once we reached the top, the view was unbelievable. I recommend it to everyone who likes a challenge. Even if you don't have any hiking experience, you'll be able to reach the top (just take your time and enjoy the hike/view).
Nikita De Wilde — Google review
Wonderful location. A 2hours walk which may be a bit hard without water and solar cream, but definitely worth it. An amazing panorama of the region, from the cevennes to the town of Sete.
Félix Brassier — Google review
Note Google Maps sends you to the wrong place. Search Cazevieille and the car park is there. As you start walking up, you will hit a fork with a sign only in French. Take the right path for the top. It says 2.5 km but I suspect that is in a straight line and actually path is probably double that. We went mid June and needed at least 3-4L of water for two adults and two children. Spectacular views from the top. Recommend beginning out of the heat of the day. There is no water or bathroom either at the car park or in the village.

This scenic trail is a must-do of the Montpellier area. The 90 minutes walk to the summit, where a little church and a huge cross are, is quite easy, with only 350m of gain, but the stony trail challenges your ankles.
Many people go there for the Sunset, and it's nicebut keep in mind the way back... And don't forget the headlights!

Fantastic highly recommended day trip from Montpellier. 2-3hr return 6km hike but please remember to bring water, snacks and suncream. The hike departs from the village cazevielle (no supplies available or shops) on the south western side of the peak, note that Google might send you the wrong way. The final 430m ascent is steeper and not well marked, it will bring you to the top where there is a fire lookout, historic shrine and spectacular views. Well worth the effort!
Great views of the harbour, boats being repaired, the breakwater etc

The Musee Paul Valery is a small museum located in a peaceful area of Sete, showcasing a collection of beaux arts paintings and drawings. The museum is housed in a restored building constructed in the Corbusian style from the 1970s. Visitors can enjoy interesting exhibits and admire great views of the sea just outside. It takes approximately one hour to walk around and explore everything that this museum has to offer.

Tiny parking lot was full. No parking spaces anywhere near. Drove around a bit looking for one, gave up, left town.
(I know it's not a proper review- but unless you are prepared to walk right uphill from the parking lots near the port, which, due to having people in their 80s with us, we weren't, access is a major issue. My apologies to the museum itself.)

Wonderful day in the Cévennes with our personal guide Martin. From viaferrata to canyoning we had a great day. Martin was very sympathique and took great care of us.
Viaferrata was challenging just enough for everybody to enjoy (from kids to grandpa). The view is incredible.
Canyoning was more a river wandering. Not what I am used to in mountain rivers. Here it was more jumps and zip lines. I prefer high speed river more energetic canyoning but the kids loved all the jumps. The finish with the waterfall was just amazing.

We rented two road bikes for a week. The bikes were decent, although maybe slightly expensive for the specs. They both seemed slightly small, and we were not sure whether the sizes were correct, as we both had back pain after 30 km of cycling. The customer service was very good, with great route recommendations. We would recommend renting from here.

It is a great location for nudists and couples !If you plan on staying longer just buy the entry once for the rest of your staying there because there’s a lot of people in the evening waiting in line. You can’t buy your entry online!!?Why?Because if they allow it than you will have a lot of groups of single men.And it is made to be really great for couples!Fun you will have in this location from clubs to pool parties ,the beach, the bars etc.The cool thing is that it doesn’t matter the day of the week,in the village people are always partying 24/7.If you arrive in the morning I advise you to start with a pool party .Most important is that everything you imagined and heard about the village is true. There the fantasy can become reality!!Have Fun!!!

My husband and I had a GREAT time enjoying the clubs and the nude beach. BUT I am extremely disappointed with the security of the Village. We saw a black man hitting a woman multiple times on her face inside the Village. We immediately notified the security and the 3 security men said they could do nothing to help the woman, not even call the police. It is a shame that the village requires identification of their guests to entry the village which implies safe, but yet they cannot prevent or defend a woman against her agressor. I am devastated by the lack of respect and careless of the Cap d’Adge Village’s security. No matter how much we may enjoy the lifestyle, violence is never and should never be condoned. The village must training their staff, otherwise you will be on your own if anything happens to you while in the Village.

Check-in is disorganized and confusing and if you don't speak French you can feel a bit isolated. Otherwise I would have given it a five-star rating. Once you get checked in, it is a great experience. Beaches are a few minutes walk away. Facilities are very good with laundry, dish-washing stations, showers and toilets, running water and electricity plug-ins scattered throughout the camping site. It is very quiet. Shopping facilities are a short walk away. Nudity is the key theme. You can go anywhere in the entire village completely nude. Nudity is mandatory inside the camping area and on the beaches but that requirement is not enforced. It was my first time being completely nude in a supermarket. Very highly recommended

One of a kind place. Very good village relaxed vibe, although in the evenings it can have specific dress code. Accommodation can be hard to come by and expensive! Worth it for several days of the experience or if camping with friends.

The campsite must be nearly the worst we have visited. Old squat toilets, often dirty, those few showers that worked were cold. We were positioned at the village end of the site which meant that there was a lot of traffic and noise. Great beach.
Philip Percival — Google review
Dare your self to go for a nude stroll, it's very liberating. There's also couples night clubs, fun to go and see all the fun outfits. I didn't see any adult fun on the beach as that is rumored just people having fun. Enjoy, usually get a bottle of wine as a welcome treat that helps with the jitters to go out and really enjoy walking through the village naked.
Aquarium Marin du Cap d'Agde is a must-visit attraction, especially on a rainy day. It's conveniently located near the port and offers an opportunity to explore the richness of marine life from around the world. The vibrant hues of aquatic plants and a variety of species in small but well-maintained tanks make it an enjoyable experience for both kids and adults. Additionally, visitors can delve deeper into their understanding of sea life through French signage provided throughout the establishment.

I have been here now in both June and August 2022. Very different experiences each time. Random open times in June and lots of rides pack up and leave, however we enjoyed the roller coaster. Rides vary in prices between €3 - €6 pp per ride. The big ride Adrenalin and the slingshot ball style one have different higher prices. Been twice this week and went on 8 rides (with the children). We enjoyed all of them. I particularly thought 'mega jump' was fantastic value for €5 each, you get a full 5 minutes on the ride. Really busy especially at weekends but didn't wait in queues for long. Didn't go on any stalls to 'win' any prizes like the big Teddy bears. Candy floss was huge even though we bought the small. I would definitely visit again!
Susan Bodley — Google review
Lack of Attractions as it is out of season. Lots of gaps and it’s very run down and dirty. The 2 rollercoasters we did were good fun at €5-6 and other rides around €3-4pp.

Nice park for entertainement. 2,5e to 5e per activities when it is 50% discount day (Thursday?). You can see these panels all across the town. But after we went, we notice that not all activities were on reduced price and the one doing reduced price is like 1€ on a ticket of 4 or 5....far from 50% announced!!
Jean-Michel — Google review
The park is fun and most entertainment is very good, but one of the “arcade game-style” activities deals in bad faith particularly. BE AWARE:
The game with little papers wrapped in small plastic pieces, could probably be sued for the following reasons. (Stay away from it)
Firstly, they claim to be sponsored by Apple, which, after verification, is a lie.
For exemple, they will tell you that you can win a “smart watch” if you get a certain (and complicated and costly) combination of numbers. You can see in the annexed picture that the watch is not made by Apple (which they lead you to believe, smartly without being specific about it) ( see annexed picture ) ! They give you prizes that are not shown anywhere on the stand because they are pieces of imported rubbish.
Secondly, there is a second “exclusive” stage to the game, which is “only available after 01:00”, but it’s not. The costs of that game are not listed anywhere, the guy seems to be making them up on the spot depending on the client.
Thirdly, they claim to be required to have a certain number of winners every night, which is also a lie.
So - my advice if you are thinking of spending time there, and to avoid getting scammed, is to stay away from all arcade games.
Unless you want a little cute toy for your significant other, and if that is the case, please stay away from the wrapped paper game, regardless of it’s ease in appearance.
YOU WILL LOSE! (At least that one)

Aqualand Cap D'Agde is a waterpark with slides that swirl and plunge from great heights. Swimmers can have lots of fun racing each other on the playgrounds and splash pads around the park. The enormous pool is a place to just relax and soak up the French sun. Green lawn extends throughout, and you'll see sunbathers lounging anywhere, to take in the magnificent view.
Came here August 2019, Fairly over priced at €28 each. However between my party of 10 lads we had a right laugh, barely any queues and the rides were pretty awesome. Almost like reliving your youth haha. Locker and key situation is a bit daft but suppose not everything is perfect. If your in the area definitely worth a trip hence my 5star. And the waffles are to die for!!.
Curts Enterprise — Google review
Reopening after covid, the restart went well.
A lot of people, sometimes long queue that makes people a bit excited; though this is acceptable. However the swimming pool was not super clean due to tree leaves falling down;
We had fun, restrictions on age could be harder on certain games that are quite challenging for young crowd.
Possible to eat onsite which is great but food quality is like McDonald’s.
Very noisy area as a lot of kids yell there :) this aqualand is very close to the beach so you would probably use it when the weather is not great, but actually it is also crowded when the weather is good. A bit outage the games still satisfies the youngest.
Jerome G — Google review
I imagine that this would have been a higher review if we'd been outside of Summer holiday time, but unfortunately the queues were ridiculous and we only went on two rides. The fast track system means that anyone in the normal queue has little chance of moving forwards - surely there's a compromise? Food outlets were ok, toilets were grim, lifeguards were attentive. Would consider going again at a less busy time and would definitely need fast track to make it worth while.

We went mid August. It was unpleasant all round. There were long queues getting in; once in, queues for the rides of 45m to 1hr whilst standing in the full sun; an inefficient system for the lockers; and general over-crowding. We left feeling like the owners cared more about making money than offering a great customer experience. On the plus side, there is a good selection of rides.
James Butterworth — Google review
Was a bit wary about going to the park as there have been some bad reviews, but generally this is similar to many of the other parks I've been to. Everything costs money, from the 25 euro entry, to the pictures with the parrot dude, to the rental on the sunlounger, most of which is optional (you can lay a towel out on the grass for example).
The place is popular, so be aware that you will have to queue upwards of 30 minutes for the better rides. Each ride has two queues, one to collect a mat or inflatable, and then another on the steps to the ride entrance. 20 euros or so gets you a VIP fast pass, and given that the day will cost you over €120 (for a family of 4) it kinda makes sense to invest. You skip the first queue, but not the second, but could save you well over an hour across a busy day.
A meal (think lightning fast McDonalds) will set you back €15, but it's decent quality fast food.
We spent 5 hours or so in the park, and really enjoyed it.
Be aware that they have a strict policy about baggy shorts and cotton t-shirts that can't be worn on the rides (lycra Ts are fine)..
Doogie K — Google review
Overcrowded during my visit. Slides are ok, but waiting 30-45 minutes for a slide took the fun out of it. The children's pool water was not heated like the other pools were. Some pools were also full of leaves and dirt.

We went for the first time with the family in June. The kids absolutely loved it which, lets face it, is the main thing. I think the ticket price was ok for a full days entertainment. We got stung for a bit extra for using the sun beds. It does state the charge on the bed but I’ll be honest I didn’t notice. June was good as it wasn’t too busy. We will go again probably, but off season. Thanks

All Paul Riquet is an exquisite avenue adorned with greenery, characterized by charming cafes on the sidewalk, dotted with historical landmarks and hosts a vibrant weekly market for flowers. This picturesque street is a must-visit for anyone looking to soak in the beauty of traditional French architecture while indulging in some delicious food and soaking up the local culture. The boulevard serves as an idyllic location for leisurely strolls or relaxing coffee breaks amidst scenic surroundings.
The Cathédrale Saint-Nazaire is a stunning 13th-century Roman Catholic church located on the site of a previous structure. It offers breathtaking panoramic views from its entrance, where visitors can find an employee offering tours (though not affiliated with the church). While the surrounding businesses and area may be somewhat quiet and in need of renovation, the cathedral itself provides incredible vistas of Languedoc from its high vantage point. Inside, one will find impressive architecture and decor.
A beautiful cathedral. It is even possible to climb the bell tower for free.
Worth a visit!

Beautiful cathedral with pretty panoramic views from the entrance. There's a table with an employee set up in the entrance to arrange tours, though not linked with the church, which I found kind of surprising, as I was seeking for info from the church. The surrounding businesses and area are fine for service, though it's a kind a sleepy and rundown town.

Expect amazing views of Languedoc from Cathedral Saint-Nazaire’s perch. You can see parts of the Massif Centrale, surrounding countryside, and the River Orb. The inside of the cathedral is impressive of course. Perfect for catching the sunset. Nearby are several cafes and restaurants.

A beautiful building inside and out. It is a must visit when coming to Beziers. Free entry though an offering of a donation is asked for but not mandatory. The views from the bell tower are amazing but note there are 168 steps to get to here and they are very narrow so be aware. Free to go up to the top.

It Is a very beautiful church with astonishing Architecture and good descriptions of the meaning behind it inside. It is viewable from most of the city and adds to the Character nicely.
It is possible to go upstairs to the Tower of the Church which would have made our visit perfect but sadly this wasn't possible at the time of our Visit.
Anyways still a must if you visit Béziers.

Lovely Catholic cathedral in Carcassonne. Excellent stained glass windows and religious iconography. The only downside is that, as with the rest of Carcassonne, it can get very crowded with tourists and guided tours. If at all possible try to visit early in the day before the crowds get there.

So happy that they make all of the Cathedral (including the tower and cloisters) open to the public at no charge. The staff in the information booth are very nice and did their best to answer our questions. The view from the tower balcony is wonderful, in all directions. In such a small city, the altar and stained glass were exceptional. A "must see" sight in Béziers. We're going back on Sunday to hear the 17th century organ.
Les 9 Écluses de Fonseranes is a popular tourist destination that features a series of canal locks consisting of 9 flights. Visitors can witness the fascinating operation of the locks and enjoy stunning views of Beziers. The location also boasts an interactive cinema and restaurant at its visitor center. While there may be little shade, it offers an interesting experience for children with great toilets and a store available on site. A short walk away lies a water bridge, similar to those in photos.
Wonderful place to visit, kept very clean. You can picnic and there are boat rides and the little train comes too. Restaurant/bar at the top of the hill.
(7 of the 9 original locks remain functional).

Nice place, a lil hot 🔥 because there is no shade but it’s interesting for kids and they have great toilets and a Store.
If you have spare time walk für 10 min and you can visit a water bridge like in my fotos :)

Impressive to see boats going up 30 meters in a matter of hours.
Somewhere along the canal there's a boat rental for amateurs which leads to an entertaining amount of struggling newbies. Not much to do otherwise except getting ripped off by the only restaurant there.
Ype Speelman — Google review
A beautiful walk along the canal du midi leads you to the locks. There is a great cafe which you can watch the boats going through the locks and enjoy a delicious glass of wine! The tourist train leaves from here and for €8 it’s well worth the trip as it weaves through the streets of Béziers.

Was actually sailing the boat and it is really cool to go down it.
The lock keepers guided us through it as it was our first time going through several locks at a time.
If you are on foot it might be a little less entertaining but it is still worth seeing.
Jude Whittaker — Google review
Nice locks, the best thing was the tourist train into Béziers. You can easily access and park here, then take the tourist train into the center of the city. Béziers is busy and brutal to drive into for a visit, using the tourist train from here made it easy to also see the centre of town
Alex von Schilling — Google review
We took our Dutch barge through on our own with no other boats and what an experience ! After coming down the mighty Rhône…and through the Étang in quite windy weather, this was absolutely the highlight of the journey. It was amazing. Lauren the lock keeper was so helpful with information. All in all it was an unforgettable moment to pass through these locks of historical engineering built by men and women hundreds of years ago. Allows boats to be raised 21.5m (71ft) over a distance of 300m (980ft).
MagicBusArt — Google review
Lovely canal trips with super views or just take a walk along the canal & watch others going up & down the 9 locks

Great place to visit and see how the locks work and great views of Béziers. Amazing to see how the same method is still being used today. Well worth the visit. If you visit the Restaurant at the top BEWARE the service is terrible, very slow and unhelpful we even had a server roll his eyes at us... But the food and views are fantastic.

Château de Gruissan offers a must-do climb for breathtaking 360-degree views of the town, including the salt pans, lakes, stilt houses, port and marinas, hills, and the Mediterranean Sea. Sensible footwear is essential due to rocky and uneven steps. The tower itself is in ruins but provides an insight into the area's history through information boards in French and English.
Good view to see the nearby area from the top but make sure you have good shoes to walk up the steps plus stoned path...some parts a quite narrow just need to be caution as can be slippery if its wet weather!

A must do climb for amazing 360° view of Gruissan. You can see the salt pans, lakes, stilt houses, port and marinas and hills surrounding as well as the city and Mediterranean Sea. Sensible footwear is important and not really suitable for people with mobility issues as lots of rocky uneven steps. The tower is in ruins and you can see some other areas, but its mostly rocky outcrop. Information boards of the history in French and English. Their is some shaded area to sit and rest and a lower walk around the base.
Sheila Brooks — Google review
The tower is a "Must-see" in Gruissan, just for the great views out over the town. The climb up to the tower is slippery, so it would be bad to go on a damp day. Hold on to the railing! there is also a nice trail that goes all the way around the base of the rock.

We found ourselves equipped with vests and then we did the buoy, big disappointment... the instructor who tries at all costs to make us fall, while we were making signs to indicate the opposite result, a fall which was quite painful...
The activity itself was fun and could be done again. But not necessarily there, or with this person. It will remain a good memory for some.

The Les Halles de Narbonne food hall is a beautiful place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses and patisseries. There's also a huge range of different home made cassoulets in glass jars and tins. It can be busy so be prepared to queue, but it's definitely worth it!
A massive food hall where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, patisserie, meat and seafood. There was also a huge range of different home made cassoulet in glass jars and tins. It doesnt look very appealing but you must try a cassoulet when in Narbonne or the surrounding areas, they are very yummy! We went Sunday morning at 10am and it was quite busy already. There was a parking area directly outside but we parked down the road a but where there was ample street parking. There were public toilets out the les halles.

I have visited Markets all over the world, and this one in Narbonne is as good as any I have found. In a historic Market building it has everything you might need from seafood to exotic spices and anything to fill your grocery basket. As well there are stalls where you can get a drink and lunch. It is at times crowded, and when we visited there were no COVID restriction in place or masks being worn.

A beautiful building to house the indoor market. The market was mainly food stalls and bars to have coffee, alcohol and lunch. We were hoping to find non food stalls too. Toilets just outside open at same hours as market, but not suitable if you have mobility issues as down stairs, but they were beautifully clean

Tourist. 1st time. Absolutely stunning market in an old historic building in downtown Narbonne.
We came with our French friends. They said this is a “very French” place to go.
Visit during the week when it is not as busy. You can barely walk during the weekends but well worth the visit.
You can buy anything here: food, drink, bar, gifts, soap, whole bean coffee, bread.
The vegetables are the biggest I have ever seen and smell so good. So many kinds of Mediterranean fish. Meat butcher shop.
So many olives and tapenade. Nuts.
We bought soap gift sets for 5 euros to take home.

Great traditional market with food stalls for veg, butchers, bakers, sausage makers, fishmongers, etc. In summer, the little sardines are caught right off the coast in Gruissan and sold right here! Also has little lunch spots with stools serving great local specialties, and a places with prepared food like roasted chickens or cassoulet that you can take home (or to your Airbnb!) Bring cash as most vendors prefer it

Bustling but great covered market that offers a wide variety of local products. It is a great place to see and sample some of the region's delicious food and wine. Halles centrales de Narbonne Boulevard docteur Ferroul, 1 Cr Mirabeau, 11100 Narbonne, France
The Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur Cathedral in Narbonne, France was constructed between 1272 and 1340, but was never fully completed. It boasts a transept and a lofty choir that stands at 40 meters high. The cathedral is one of the tallest buildings in France and dominates Narbonne's old district.
Been coming to Narbonne for over 10 years and this was my first visit to the Cathedral. How beautiful and a credit to all those that are responsible for its upkeep.
Thank you.

Cathédrale Saint-Just et Saint-Pasteur is a beautiful cathedral with breathtaking stained glass windows, elegant chandeliers, intricate tapestries, and captivating paintings. The stone-sculpted chapel and massive organ add to its grandeur. Entry is free, making it a must-visit attraction in Narbonne. Don't miss the opportunity to explore this magnificent cathedral if you're in the area.

Wow, don't miss this on your visit it's Even worth a dedicated visit if you love old style architecture it dates from the 12 century a top tip is there are two sides to the main building visit the derelict ruins first then the main area afterwards, and when inside don't miss all the other areas in the cathedral.

This is one of the fascinating buildings, either incomplete (as in this case), or in ruins, that demonstrate, better than a completed edifice, the original plan of the builders. Here we have a complete choir with chapels containing a selection of works of art. Do not miss the cloister with its bizarre selection of gargoyles and pinnacles.

The Réserve Africaine de Sigean is a safari park and zoo that features African animals such as lions, gnus, and rhinos in both drive-through and walk-through areas. Visitors can observe these savanna animals in expansive enclosures that are well maintained. It is an ideal location for a day trip where visitors can enjoy lunch at one of the several snack bars available. The Sigean zoo is also dog friendly, making it accessible to pet owners looking for an exciting wildlife experience.

Very nice place, cool idea! You can have a "Safari" with your own car / camping car, driving around (queueing in August) among exotic animals wandering free!
After that, there is a walking only area with many others animals and attractions for children.
The whole route takes 4-5 hours -ish. Water available inside the park.
The only con is related to the safari part, if you go in August (or during high season) you will probably queue a lot waiting for people to take pictures of the animals.
Luca Bellini — Google review
Absolutely amazing! We went on a day trip from Spain to visit the reserve. The kids had a great time and the animals look very well taken care of. Well done to all staff for such an amazing job. 👏🏻👏🏻 I would say the bathrooms were dirty, maybe a little more care will be appreciated by the visitors.
Anisia Pienaar — Google review
It is ok for the less price.
We had a bad luck with a weather but still we managed to pass there a half of the day.
We liked the first driving part. It was interesting, animals were walking really close and that what you could name “safari”.
But, unfortunately, this part was short and the rest of the park was more close to a typical zoo. To compare zoo of Valencia and Barcelona, I liked more: more animals and better territory. A lot of zones were empty….
The restaurant of the park is not expensive but not tasty at all, in IKEA you could eat much better. The souvenir shop is incredibly expensive, 25 euros for the small animal toy looks ridicules.
To conclude, it is a good option if the price was double less, it doesn’t cost its price at all. And there are a lot of picnic zones on the open air where better to take something really tasty and enjoy your lunch.
Daria Iemelianova — Google review
Visited again in July 2023. A huge territory for a car ride and a walking tour. WC are free, there are restaurants where you can get a snack or have a full lunch. During my first visit the part of the reserve was closed because of the bird flu. This time I could discover their collection of birds, it's impressive.

We enjoyed our experience at this park. It’s quite rare you get to do a self-drive safari, especially in the middle of Europe. So, this is a once in a lifetime experience. There were lots of animals to see and the park is really well organised. Just that we keep in the super peak period and the self-drive was super slow from heavy traffic (tourists stopping to take photos). I would recommend to come as early as you can to avoid the traffic.
Nishanth S P — Google review
We fell in love with this reserve! We loved the idea that you get to see real predators through the window of your car at a pace you feel comfortable with. It was truly unique. Even though it was really hot (more than 30 degrees C), we saw all animals, even the lazy lions, and bears. There were also plenty of bovine animals walking freely and not being intimidated by the cars passing by. This part of the park took about an hour and a half. The rest of the park, which is accessible on foot, is a good 4-hour walk.
The sanitary parts were well-maintained and eating inside the park is not expensive, as one might expect. Also, there are proper indications throughout the entire park so you can never get lost. There are mist shower systems situated in several places to keep you cool. Last but not least, there are many taps with drinkable water (if you bring your dog, there are taps suited at about 30 cm above the ground, which are perfect for small dogs). Definitely recommend to all families and animal lovers!

I worked in Perpignan for a while so i visited what i could in the area :).
Been here with my fiancee, and didn't regret it at all. Was a pleasant day,not too warm, not too cold.
First part you travel in your car, we saw some black bears, some herbivorous animals like zebras, ostrichs and others. Than some Liones, actually one lion and some lionesses . Than we had a 4 hours walk , no rush and it was ok. Like a bigger zoo, animals with more space to run and play. No elephants or tigers, but for a walk in nature is a good place to go. The food is not the best and somehow expensive for what they offer. It is usually crowded, even if i went there outside the busy hours they say :).
After all it's a nice experience, worth going. This only if you haven't been in an actually Africa safari, than this will look like childish :).

All in all this was a beautiful experience. We arrived reasonably early within the week (Monday, 9.30am) and it actually worked out really well. It wasn't too full, you can slowly drive through the Safari and it is an absolutely unique experience! Beware that the Lion part of the Safari opens at 10am, so we did have to wait for a moment before we could enter.
The Staff is super friendly and speaks English as well.
The Walkable Part of the Park is also really nice, with a lot of shade on the walkways and places to stop to eat/use the toilet etc. The enclosures seemed really nice to me, the animals weren't pacing and seemed really relaxed in general. There are some peacocks roaming around as well, which is pretty cool too.
All in all this was a great experience, and considering you can spend your entire day here and see all these beautiful animals this was definitely money well spent. I would always recommend!

That’s a huge park with very respectful and friendly way of treating animals. There is enough space for them as I can see. It doesn’t feel like a zoo. It’s more a window to a wildlife sanctuary. Even in winter you can find a restaurant to have some food. Meanwhile the infrastructure is really nice and well planned. There are parking, rest rooms, shops - everything that you may need after a long trip to this place. For sure this experience is worth it.

Love this place. Seeing the animals as you drive was great then another whole part to walk.. need at least 3 hours if not more.. we went early amd was not to hot.. the hotter it get the more the animal stay in the shade. Also saw the flimgos being feed at 2pm was great so close . My 3 year old loved it.. but got tired on the walk part
June Murphy — Google review
The place is amazing. You can see alot of animals roam free. I highly recommend checking the feeding times of the animals, because that is the best time to visit them. You often see animals directly on the road. Be aware that the food isn't anything special at the place.

We went in April 2023, in the morning. You should book in advance and you’re given an entry time (tolerance of 15-30 minutes if I remember correctly) - the website has all the info:
There are 2 parts. One visited inside the car (wild animals):
The wild animals were moving freely, but very visible since the food is next to the road where the cars circulate.
The animals looked “happy”, although bears and lions were sleeping (maybe their natural way).
The second part:
The park which can be visited on foot is very big, things distance apart, so be ready to use your shoes 😊
The restaurant has several options, including healthy ones. There are several coffee and ice cream shops around the park, with snacks, etc.
Regarding activities here (feeding animals, etc), there were not too many, nor information was very clear/ helpful. This is something to improve in my opinion.
I understand it’s intended to simulate a natural habitat , so I like that this is respected

Best zoo/animal reserve experience that we’ve ever been to. The animals look healthy and happy with plenty of room to roam. This is what a zoo should be like. The staff is friendly and the experience itself was amazing. Definitely recommend even if it’s out of your way. Well worth the trip and would love to go back.

The visit started out with a very long 40 minutes car queue to enter. We had already purchased our tickets, as requested in their website, but we noticed most cars hadn't. Hence the wait.
The first part of the tour is through the outer spaces were animals are free in the environment and visitors must be in their cars, with windows closed. To our astonishment, people lowered the car windows, offered food to animals, screamed at the animals and some even got out of their cars to photograph them. NO ONE FROM THE PARK DID ANYTHING. We were amazed.
Besides, the bears area had 3 bears only; we could only see 2 rhinoceros and lions were lying down in a space limited by an electric wire (over 10 meters away from the road)
Afterwards, we did the walking tour. We expected many more species and animals, larger spaces for them, but no. Animals are caged in spaces that evidently don't allow them to run or exercise as they would in the wild (so it feels more like a zoo than to a reservation).
The Vivarium doesn't have many species either.
It is a nice experience for kids, but we expected a lot more for the entrance fee.
Restaurants and snack bars are available in the walking area of the park, but food IS EXPENSIVE! And quality is not great. But I must say that fries were awesome!
Red-brick fortress built to guard the French/Spanish border, open for guided or unaccompanied tours.
We arrived quite late during the day and since neither of us spoke french very well and another tour just started one of the tourguides, a very nice lady, just did a spontaneous tour in English.
We would like to rate the Fortress experience a 5 star rating, but the lady really knocked it out of the park and created a special moment for us.
Thank you for the tour and the nice chats.

A huge fortress, powerful walls, and an incredible number of different routes inside. The guide speaks a mixture of French and Spanish, but surprisingly, you understand everything. The services of a guide are included in the ticket price and it is definitely worth joining the tour, since you can only get to the upper floor with a guide. I recommend it!

Quite breathtaking in its size and majesty. Huge thick walls and a fascinating history. The trebuchet and cannons on display are really interesting and we had the place to ourselves. Our 10 year old loved the games area which was a welcome distraction.

A very nice team with competent people who understood my disability and made the guided tour manageable. The castle is full of stories, beautiful, and the museum is absolutely interesting. Go there without doubt. (Guided tour might not be in English but many indications are written, and guide sheet available too)

Fantastic day out for a sunny or rainy day. It is one of the largest and most impressive castles I have been to. There are loads of interactive games and animations for the children to enjoy.
This castle is truly impressive and now offers translated guides and material in English and Spanish as well as French.
There is a tour in French which is definitely worthwhile even if you don’t understand the language.
€8 per adult and kids go free which is a bargain for the experience. A multi language audio guide would make it a five star experience.

The visit exceeded my expectation. Very well laid out and presented exhibitions and some audio visuals. Brought the history to life. Most information in French English and Spanish. Free parking. Highly recommended.

A masterpiece of European military architecture and exceptionally well preserved. Absolutely worth a visit when in the area. Admission is € 8 ( 2023). The keep is only accessible with a guided visit (in French), but you can roam the inner courtyard freely.

A revelation of a fortress! Not quite medieval, still not the modern fortresses of the 16th century, it guarded for a long time the Spanish-French border. A lot of defensive architecture innovations, all in an uniform style and still very well kept. The guide was most entertaining (in French). Great play room for kids.

Amazing place very well preserved. Very big building from 1000 B.C. that shows us an important part of the European History. The individual tour is not guided,It is just for groups. In this case more parts of the fortress are available for visitation. Parking is free , but small. Tickets for tour with fair price ( 8 EUR).

Such an awesome place to visit. I wish I knew French as the tour is French only speaking. Lower part of the fortress can be visited without a guide but the upper part of the fortress is guided tour only and I highly recommend it.
Perpignan Cathedral is a significant national monument of France and a Roman Catholic place of worship located in the town of Perpignan. The cathedral is constructed in the Catalan Gothic style and dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. It features a spacious nave with seven cross-vaults, a short transept, and apse with a vault featuring seven keys. Notably, it also showcases an exquisite wooden carving of Jesus.
Beautiful cathedral in a beautiful city, the each chapel is stunning. When I visited the church was beautifully decorated for Easter. Tip: the interior of the church remains cool even on hot days in Perpignan. ;).

Like so many of the many magnificent churches in the region there is the sense of peace and serenity inside the building. The ornate sculptures and altars are amazing - too much to see in a short visit.

Perpignan Cathedral is a must see if you are visiting Perpignan. It is a Roman Catholic cathedral, and a national monument of France, located in the town of Perpignan in Languedoc-Roussillon. It is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. The cathedral was built in the Catalan Gothic style, because of its association with the Kingdom of Majorca. It has a wide nave made of seven cross-vaults, and features a short transept and apse, whose vault features seven keys.

Not bad, if you are visiting the city it is a place to see it.
Beside that, the cathedral has nothing special.
14th-century gateway tower housing the Casa Pairal museum of local history & culture, & town views.
Beautiful military castle in the centre of town. It is 2 euro entry or occasionally free as I found out when I visited. There is 142 steps up to the top so this is not a step free attraction. At each part as you go up the stairs it goes into different rooms showcasing different pieces of history about the castle. Overall it is worth visiting as you get great views over Perpignan.

Beautiful historic military tower located in the heart of the city of Perpignan. It was once part of the city's fortifications and now serves as a museum. The tower is a great example of medieval design, with its imposing walls and impressive gatehouse. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the museum was closed, so we were not able to go inside and explore.

Abbaye de Fontfroide is a former Cistercian monastery located near Narbonne. The abbey boasts stunning architecture and is well-preserved, with amber sandstone against lush greenery providing a picturesque view. Visitors can take an Uber for around 27 euros each way and should arrange for a pick-up beforehand. The cloister is serene, and visitors can imagine the monks walking and reading.
Absolutely gorgeous. I was there in April and the wisterias were blooming. Looked and smelt amazing.

Dropped by on the way to Montpellier. It was a rainy day when we arrived, definitely dampened the atmosphere a little bit. Rose garden wasn’t in bloom yet, would assume this place will be beautiful in late spring or summer.

The Abbaye is stunning in its size, complexity and state of preservation. The amber sandstone against the greenery and skies is stunning. The cloister is wonderfully serene; just sit and imagine the monks walking and reading. It's not far from Narbonne, and you can Uber for around 27 euro each way. Make sure to arrange a pick-up with your driver before he departs. Leave yourself 3 hours to walk the Abbaye, set the gardens, and do a wine tasting. Great way to spend an afternoon.

The pinned location is slightly inaccurate. Once you find it, the abbey is great! Didn't realize how fast the grounds were, therefore we didn't budget enough time. You probably want 3-4 hours if you plan to walk around the whole grounds including the cross on the hilltop. We only had time for the Abbey and a very brief wine tasting. Walking around the Abbey and its adjacent garden was very nice!

If you’d like to visit an ancient abbey that keeps lots of secrets. It’s the right place. The abbey founded in the 11th century now looks very nice. You can visit its gardens and buildings, taste local wine and buy some bottles, have lunch in a local restaurant, listen to a concert that usually takes place regularly. History, wine, roses - wherever you’re looking for - there’s something for you. Additionally, it might be a great stage for a Harry Potter movie.
There’s also a hiking trail but I’m going to go there next time.

Beautiful way to spend a few hours. It was not busy when we went and it took us 2 hours to stroll through. Parking was ample and though dogs are not allowed in, I found it nice that they had a few kennels you could store your dog in while you visited.
There is a restaurant at the entrance and we grabbed a drink to go, they let us bring it inside. As you walk in toward the abbey, there are planters filled with all kinds of herbs. That area smelled so amazing.
You show your ticket to the person at the abbey entrance and they scan it. We did not buy ours in advance but you can. There are guided tours but we just wanted to go at our own pace. It's a beautiful building and the gardens are serene. We got lots of great pics. Definitely a good choice for a sidetrip.

A wonderful place to visit. A combination of extraordinary things to do and see. During our several visits, we have eaten at the restaurant several times. The food is fantastic. The setting is superb. And the staff both attentive and helpful. Last year, we had Easter dinner followed by a wonderful concert of Gregoria’s Chants in the beautifully restore church. We had a great time on the tour with Coline (I think that was her name). The products are excellent quality. My only complaint is the older lady with thr blonde hair was very rude and disrespectful to her co-workers in front of the customers.

We expected this to be a quick "boiler plate" tour with a push to buy products but were amazed at how professional and thorough our tour was. We learned so much from our tour which began in their olive grove. Marianna was a wonderful host whose deep knowlege of and passion for the olive world kept us completely attentive. We saw a short film which was excellent. We saw firsthand each step in the process of making olive oil (we were lucky to be there when the pressing was in progress). As part of the tour we tasted three types of olives and several olive oils, each with distinct characeristics, with commentary from our guide. The cooperative shop was very busy and we were surprised to learn that any of their olive oils can be sampled prior to purchase. We can't recommend a visit to L'Oulibo highly enough.

Extraordinary service
The family and I visited and bought the guided tour. While buying tickets (and after) we received great recommendations of other attractions in the region, and got answers to any questions we had.
The guided tour was split into English and non-english. Even though we were only a family of four, we still got the full tour in English. We had a great guide named Solene, very friendly, and fluent in English. She gave us a tour around the place, and described the whole process, from harvesting to shop shelf's. At the olive tasting she even gave great recommendations on how to use olive oil for cooking, and what to look out for when buying.
I highly recommend visiting this place, and getting a guided tour from their friendly and service minded staff.

Les Orgues d'Ille sur Tet is a natural wonder featuring tall pillars of white sandy rock sculpted by water erosion, creating a unique and enchanting landscape often referred to as "Fairy Chimneys." The site offers striking views and is an ideal spot for a leisurely walk. Although the area can get hot in the summer, it's worth visiting for its breathtaking beauty.
