Harrowing site of a former Nazi extermination camp built during WWII, now a powerful memorial.
Being German and having visited this place, I did not only find it horrible to walk through the area of the mass graves but also constantly asked myself how a country that had so many good people, so many poets and scientists can have such a dark past.
The place itself is perfectly taken care of. I do recommend the audio guide (download the app)that automatically guides you through the whole are.
Entry is free - pay 7 sloty for use of toilet and parking.

Obviously a significant place in terms of its history, however the exposition does not reflect this I feel. Exposition so small and on many archifacts the English is in much smaller font and very hard to read because of the colour contrast used on English versions. I feel a lot.more.could.have been done with the money. Still a very chilling reminder of the holocaust.

Recommend to go with a tour guide if possible as they can describe everything in detail much better.
Memorials and evidence to a dark time in history.

A lot of history and you have a good guide too it's much easier to understand what is about this place.

This seems like it should be an important place to visit but without a car it’s just not practical. There’s no transit to the sites from the train station other than extortionist taxi drivers and once there you need a car to get around. The monuments are tasteful memorials but most of the site has been razed.
Joseph Pearce — Google review
The history behind is quite horrible. It is very important not to forget the history.
The museum is nicely maintained, and they have films which you can get access through demands to the guard.
The onsite location is around more then 2 km long,. There is a way where you can drive a car or bike which we didn't know.
Onsite location is not nicely maintained. I have seen better one.

A very sad and worrisome place. Learn its history and watch documentaries on Treblinka before you visit to understand the true horror of this place. We got a train from Warsaw then a taxi from the local station which worked out about €20 round trip.
Gordon Burke — Google review
Got a train from Warsaw to Malkinia station. A taxi took us the rest of the journey for 10 euro each way The Treblinka complex is spread over 2.5 km so it's a visit of 2-3 hours . The site is isolated and desolate and it's a sobering experience to imagine the terror and brutality that awaited nearly a million people here.
Heartbreaking and a warning to us all

WAR: Never again.
It is a must see place for everbody. Museum is rather small, although very interesting with english signs, camp site is in the middle of the forest with lots of signs and memorials.
Definetely a place worth visitng. ( I assume by car only).
Please remember to be respectful and do not litter.
Compare yourself and your life with faith of these people ( murdered camp victims). I hope it will be more than just a stroll around the forest.

If you are into history this is a must see! There are a lot of monuments here and there is an app that walks you through the death camp portion. I did not spend as much time here as I would have liked too. You have to walk far here so I would not take young children that can not walk it on there own. Make sure you walk all the way to the back where the work camp is located. It was a little confusing and did not offer a lot of signs to show you where to go.
We recently visited Castle Czersk, also known as Zamek Książat Mazowieckich, and it was an amazing trip back in time. The castle is in the pretty Mazovian countryside and is like a living museum, showing the history and grand buildings of Poland.
When we got close to the castle, we were impressed by how big and important it looked, surrounded by greenery and a peaceful moat. The outside of the castle has cool old details, like fancy bricks and medieval stuff, making me feel like I was in the past. The people who worked on fixing it up did a great job keeping it real and historical.
Inside, the castle is like a museum where you can learn a lot about Polish history. They have interesting exhibits about the Mazovian princes, showing their stuff like old tools, weapons, and clothes. The layout of the castle is big, but it's easy to walk around and see all the different rooms.
One of the best parts of my visit was the Great Hall. It's a fancy room that makes you feel like you're back in the old days with high ceilings, cool tapestries, and a big fireplace. The attention to detail in fixing it up is impressive, making it feel like the castle's prime time.
The castle is in a good spot, and if you climb to the top, you get amazing views of the land around it. It made me realize how strategic the castle was for defense and talking to other places.
The guides at the castle were super helpful. They knew a lot and told interesting stories, making the visit not just about looking at things but also learning cool stuff. They were happy to answer questions and talk with us, making the visit fun and educational.
In conclusion, my visit to Castle Czersk was like going on a magical history journey in Poland. The careful fixing up, interesting exhibits, and the pretty surroundings make it a must-see for anyone who likes history or just wants to explore. Zamek Książat Mazowieckich is a special place full of culture, and I left feeling really connected to Poland's past.

A good experience for someone who are really into Poland history. It's a quick tour! I really like it and you can explore the entire castle in around 40 minutes. There is cards in English, so if you don't speak Polish, don't worry.

Castle ruins with interesting history.
You can visit two of the three towers, one is round and the other one is the gate tower just remember to watch your steps in the staircase and don't hit your head. The courtyard is empty because the buildings were burned down by Swedes in the 1650s. Ticket prices are pretty cheap regular is 16 pln and reduced is 11 pln. They also sold some magnets and other souvenirs. I would recommend visiting this castle if you are interested in history / old architecture.

Brings back memories from childhood and in the week it's empty - good for a picnic. I would recommend visiting for one of the events, as otherwise it's 2 towers and grass. The view from the top is quite nice but lacks any special sights. It was a nice day trip but wouldn't visit again, maybe on a weekend.

A very lovely castle with almost all the body intact. It also offers a very great view. The little shop in front also have lots of keepsakes for medieval obsessed fans.

An interesting place with a nice picnic lawn and activities for kids. A bit chaotic climbing the towers. Good information boards if you can read in Polish.
Not sure I would visit again. Perhaps with a guide who can tell you more about the history.
Łazienki Park is one of the most beautiful places in Warsaw and is a popular tourist destination with a range of attractions including palace, gardens, amphitheatre and various follies. The park is well-maintained and peaceful and is perfect for a relaxing day out.
Beautiful park in the center of Warsaw, I advise all tourists to visit. Admission to the park is free, there are also museums on site, which can be accessed for a fee. The territory of the park is very large and spacious, you can take beautiful photos and just relax in nature. Peacocks also live in the park and there are many squirrels. Incredible place! 😍😍😍

Lazienki Park in Warsaw is like a quiet, beautiful garden in the middle of the city. It's full of pretty plants, big old buildings, and calm ponds. You can walk around, see historical places like the Palace on the Water, and enjoy the Chopin Monument and you will have a lot of birds , chirping sounds make it even more beautiful. It's a great place to relax and learn about history if you visit Warsaw. Toilet signs are not well placed, you have run around to realize it's within the hunting museum.

Great and impressive park with rich history and nice nature around. You can find several buildings as parts of royal residence and even peacocks in any season! It's better to spend at least 2 hours in this park to discover main places.

Nice place. It has different sculptures: par example, Greek. Famous female sculptor from Athens came here to create something called “center of the world”.
Furthermore, You can observe ducks and pigeons happily exploring the vast fields of grass. Ducks like to swim and approach people.
Łazienki-Park is big. Even though it is famous and popular, You can always find a cozy place to rest and calm Your soul.

A beautiful park with a lot to see and enjoy.
Very popular but it is large enough to find quiet spaces.
(Lots of red squirrels, beware they are very used to being fed so will run up your leg if you stand still looking at them!)

Pretty park. It was a king park and it’s a public park now. There is the palace and I expected to see it more magnificent)) But all picture of the palace with the lake is beautiful.
And there is very colourful, unusual duck. I’ve never seen one before.

Came here on our trip to Warsaw for a bit of time away from the city. Was a fair walk from the centre but worth it for this peaceful atmosphere. I can imagine it’s beautiful in the summer but we still enjoyed it on a grey winters day. The highlight was seeing the peacocks and red squirrels, but this park is a beautiful place to visit to relax for an hour or so.

I was there during the summer and it was beautiful, a lot to see around , relax , breath the air and walk around. You can find some hidden spots to sit surrounded by the trees and nature . Recommend for anyone visiting Warsaw to spend a day here in nature and explore the history. However dogs are not allowed in the park. Heads-up for dog owners . Warsaw is generally dog friendly. A family day out here would be lovely. It’s kids friendly. The map is helpful so lay your hands on one of you can .

The Royal Łazienki (the Royal Baths) was one of those places in Warsaw that enchanted me completely! I am a total fan of greenery, and here in the very center of the city there is a huge, vast area drowning in greenery with charming paths, monuments, squirrels and walking peacocks. Contact with nature, peace, quiet, the opportunity to watch jumping squirrels, all surrounded by 18th century architecture. Everything was amazing there.

The iconic Palace of Culture and Science building in Warsaw is a towering structure with plenty to offer visitors, including theaters, a congress hall, and private companies. The building was constructed by Soviet workers as a gift to the Poles, and its height - at 237 metres - makes it one of the tallest buildings in Poland.
I strongly recommend going on the observation deck in the Palace of Culture and Science while visiting Warsaw. The view is truly stunning. The tickets are quite cheap and there's no time limit on the top. The lift is quite fast, but even the short queue (~25 people) took us like 20 minutes to get to the lift. I recommend checking busyness on google maps before visiting.

This place is very special place to visit in Warsaw, Poland.
From this place, you can see whole Warsaw. There is a fees of 25 zloty for adult and for students there is a student discount.
You can see all big skyscrapers from this top.
For a normal people it’s only allowed to go to 30 floors maximum.
Inside there is a small restaurant type where you can have good food.
The view is just amazing.
Good during evening hours so that you can watch sunsets and also the lights switching on of different skyscrapers.
It’s super.

Really beautiful icon and could be considered some kind of second Eiffel Tower for Warsaw.
Even though it's a symbol of Socialism and could be thought of as just a Communist monument, it's really a well-designed Palace.
Definitely worth going to viewing terrace

Stunning landmark in Warsaw, boasting awe-inspiring architecture and a rich cultural heritage. From its grand exterior to its captivating interior attractions, including theaters and museums, it's a must-visit destination. Loved that building on my trip to Warsaw. Very impressive architecture style and dimensions. Nice photo subject at day and night. I recommend to go to the viewing platform in the evening while it's sunset and blue hour.

The building isn’t anything special but the view from it is really magnificent, especially during the golden hour. I recommend to visit this place in the evening if you want great photos. But the waiting time was longer than we expected (around 20 minutes). That was because only one of six lifts were working. So keep in mind that.

The first thing you think of when you’re in Warszawa. Easily accessible thanks to the well planned transportation system in the city. This old piece of soviet architecture is truly stunning. The details in the building itself along with the views it gives from the top are just something else. I truly recommend visiting this palace to truly understand that grandeur the city played during its time and current history.

Had an incredible view of the city, was a very interesting experience.
Only 1 lift worked so was very busy, was the polish version of the Empire State Building in New York. I'm terms of iconic recognition, beautiful and importance however has a very interesting history.
Izzy Creative247 — Google review
Warsaw historic site. At the top of the palace you find panoramic views of the city which are worth seeing. In my opinion, the price of the ticket to enter seems a little high for the simple fact of using an elevator.
Anonimo X — Google review
Lovely looking Tower, given to the Polish from Stalin as a gift back in the day.....
Nowadays its a cultural marker in a modern city surrounded by nice and shiny high rise office towers.........its still holds its elegance well, and is a beautiful building to look at from below.
Going to the top, or at least some of the way to the top, one has to queue a little as its busy....... and with only one lift working on the day.....it did take half an hour to first buy a ticket, then get inline for the lift......
But at the top, the views are great, and one can see as far as the eyes can go of the city of Warsaw in all its splendid glory. Great views at the top.
Going back down again, another bit of a wait to the bottom.......another 20 or 30 minutes .......but I didn't mind really as the lines were moving, just slowly!
Worth a visit to see the skyline of Warsaw

This building is magnificent. It seems like the communist version of the Empire State Building. It is equally impressive and maybe more since it is not crammed in the city but there is plenty of space around it. Modern scyscrapers are around as well as the mall and train station my favorite building in Warsaw.

Nice architecture/building in the middle of Warsaw, nearby the central station. The location is just perfect. The surrounding area is nice to walk around and even to visit inside and go up for panoramic view. Ticket is very reasonable, the view of Warsaw from above is amazing. Many restaurants/shops are nearby and next to this palace is a shopping mall. Get there early to avoid long queue but it should be fine.
Luqman Hasan — Google review
Terrace view was amazing, definitely recommend. Elevator was too fast and queue was passing quickly. If you are going to visit lots of museums, recommend getting warsaw-pass ticket, which cost 150 zloty for 24 hours. It includes 25 museums and other benefits. Bad part was that stuff was really rude.

An imposing and impressive building in the heart of Warsaw. Surrounded by gardens and fountains at various points.
I would recommend going up to the top via lift where you get great aerial views of Warsaw. Tickets are reasonably priced too. If you have time, I would recommend spending dedicate walking in grounds surrounding the building.

Nice view at the floor 30 viewing platform. They didn’t closed on time, which allowed visitors to stay about 30 mins more after 8 p.m. closing time. A place for the night view of Warsaw.

Really cool view from the terrace. You can get up there with the super quick elevator in 20 seconds. The building itself is interesting with art deco elements. Restaurants, cafés and theaters inside.
Catherine Baumgartner — Google review
For 25 zloty you can go up to the 30th floor. The view is amazing, but after that you really cannot do anything else. At the top there is a cafeteria and souvenir shop.
Máté Szél — Google review
An absolute "Must Do", when you visit Warsaw.
Ideally, you'll want to visit the iconic Palace of Culture on your first day and pay the 25z (£5) to visit the viewing platform on the 30th floor. This will give you a breathtaking view of the city and give you an idea of the lay of the land. The queue to the elevators can appear to be lengthy, but they move quickly.
Built in 1955, the palace itself is beautiful and quintessentially Soviet. The architecture is both impressive and imposing.
The palace grounds form part of a much larger attraction. The palace contains a museum of evolution and the grounds boast many beautiful statues, monuments and fountains within a spacious park. The palace is surrounded by other areas of interest such as the impressive Zlote shopping mall along with plenty of restaurants and other standalone shops.
The site is easily accessed from the subway (Świętokrzyska, Centrum and Rondo ONZ), and is about a 30-40 minute walk from the classic Old/New Town area.
Exploring the palace and its grounds will require several hours, so allow yourself plenty of time (at least a half day), to fully enjoy and appreciate this wonderful part of Warsaw.

For me this building is Warszawa. The first readily identifiable building when flying into Chopin. It was the biggest building rising from the destruction of the city during WW2. It is very much in the Stalinist style of architecture. It is usually well lit and colourful when it becomes dark. I love it and take far too many pictures.

Nice visits over Warsaw. However you have a big queue to go up and a big queue to go down. I could skip it if I was in a rush. Buy tickets in advance. There are two lines, one for the people that already bought the tickets and the other one for people who haven’t bought. Pay attention because when you arrive it looks like just a single line but it isn’t

Impressive building, viewing terrace
on the 30th floor with beautiful hall and ceiling, breathtaking views of Warsaw. Sadly, the weather was rainy and foggy, so I did not see much, but I will return another time. Not free (!?) Tickets should be bought to get there. Other floors are filled with offices. Good cafe and eatery on the first and ground floor.
The POLIN Museum tells the story of the Jews in Poland from ancient times to the present day. The building is located on the site of Warsaw's former ghetto, which was home to thousands of Jews before World War II. The museum has a permanent exhibition space with multimedia displays, including reconstructed parts of historical synagogues and a Holocaust gallery.
Its permanent exposition is really thought through, every room of the exposition is original and somehow interactive. It describes history of Jewish community (mostly in Poland). But be prepared, that the exposition is really long and it can be exhausting... and then frustrating not being able to get much from the rest of the exposition. So i will definitely visit it once more when I am again in Warsaw. The temporary exposition on my visit was also wonderful (really interesting polish painter). And... also be prepared that there is safety control in the entrance.
Remi Dzian — Google review
Highly recommended.
The museum tells the story of Jews since its very beginning to the present.
It’s free and it’s for everyone (kids, adults, etc). I also recommend the audio guide.
To walk around the exhibition may take you an hour if you have no audio guide. If you do, from 2 to 3.
Once again, very clear, clean, interesting, attractive, interactive and amazing in every possible way.
Concepcion Andrade — Google review
Interesting and large exhibition. Tickets includes audio guide. It is particularly interesting if you don't know too much about history of Poland and Jews in Poland, as it does not start or even goes too much in-depth. Temporary exhibit was included in the regular ticket that we bought on the spot.
The building has impressive architecture, worth seeing.
Peter Soltes — Google review
The museum is big. Look for the uprising monument outside as the entrance is close by it. Not all of the guards at the entrance can speak English, so you should ask your questions specifically to avoid misunderstanding. Before the ticket counter and after the security check, you'll get the chance to leave your bags in deposits. You need a 2 zloty coin for it. There's a cloak deposit next to the ticket counter. The museum itself was super interesting and interactive. So you would want to spend a few hours here, at least 3-4 hours. They offer you a chance to borrow a portable stool you can sit on when you feel tired. It's comfortable to navigate the museum. They have all the facilities like lift, restaurant, toilets and souvenir shop. In front of the museum there's only bus stop but without a ticket machine. Alternatively you can walk to the big street, not too far. There you can take trams and buy tickets inside the tram (using credit cards).

What an extraordinary museum! Easily the most impressive museum I've been to. Went into such detail and provided so much information. Many interactive parts. Well organized and easy to follow. Allow yourself enough time to really have the full experience. I would personally say at least 3 hours.

Had a amazing experience out there, the way the museum is constructed was amazing. All the history was well explained and the staff was also good out there.
It usually takes 1-2 hours there, depending on how much museum nerd you are:)
Dev Saglani — Google review
Very interesting exposition which concentrates a little less on artefacts and a little more on telling the story of Polish Jewry and Jews in Poland. However, the museum is just huge; there is probably a little too much on early medieval and medieval Jewish history, so the average visitor (like me) arrives exhausted to the part on WW2. This is a pity.

Great interactive museums. Actual artifacts are few generally, but the exhibition takes you to explore thr world of Polish Jewry (1200-2010s) in a very interesting way. Take your time to discover each single part - it's quite a long path!

This place is one of the best museums that I ever been to.
So much information in a way that really got me emotional along the tour.
It was the first time ever, that I found myself crying inside a museum.
It doesn't matter if you're not Polish or Jewish, you have to see and know what happened in the past for a brighter future.
We will always remember.

This is a must-see attraction in Warsaw. The museum is excellent with lots of great exhibits and plenty of information to absorb.
We walked the museum with the audio guide, which provided more than enough information without reading the text on the displays. The audio is location-based, so you can walk the museum at your own pace.
We didn't stop (a couple of breaks for toilets/refreshments are available), and we toured the museum in approximately 90 minutes.
Very informative and enjoyable, I highly recommend.

This museum vividly shows the various periods of Jewish history throughout the world, from a proud nation to a tragic fate. It would take at least three hours for a visit. I recommend renting an audio guide to listen their stories and gain a deeper understanding of Jewish culture and society. I learned so much.

It was very interesting to learn about the history of the Jewish community in poland.
I believe that the story of jews during WWII should be told in more details.
Other than that, very nice place, the exhibitions were beautiful and very touching.

Visited on a Sunday with no issue. There is security, but even with all my backpacking stuff they let me bring it in and put it in storage. I spent 5 hours here and about halfway through started skimming the reading material. Audio guide is very good. There is so much information! There was an excellent temporary exhibit as well.

I was very disappointed. The museum is not so much a museum as a collection of audio visual displays. There were not many objects to see, only photos. There is so much wasted potential in this museum of the life of Jews in Poland and during the war. If you have a lot of extra time go there, otherwise go to Krakow and visit Auschwitz.

This place is amazing. I first came here about 7 years ago: they’ve since completed a whole slew of renovations and additions. It’s really a detailed multimedia epic about the history of Jews in Poland, filled with unique and effective installations. I was very impressed my photos don’t do it justice).

POLIN Museum in Warsaw is a captivating journey through the history of Polish Jews. The striking architecture, interactive exhibits, and sensitive exploration of history create a deeply moving experience. The recreated 19th-century Jewish street and the Tree of Remembrance are highlights. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in history and culture. Worth the money!

Huge and excellent quality exhibition. You can't experience it all in one day. Special bonus for the beautifully painted real synagoga build inside the house. It had a special feeling of holiness in it. Also very nice, Finnish architecture, the building is very beautiful inside!

Can take up to 1 day to fully see everything

Museum focused on the Jewish life in Poland. Wonderfully organized. Everything in English as well and audio guide changing automatically based on your position. The museum tells the aspects of Jews in Poland not just for the sad situation in the WWII, but from the migration of the second millennium on.
This museum tells the story of Warsaw's 1944 uprising against Nazi occupation, during which some 15,000 Polish Home Army soldiers were killed and hundreds of thousands deported. The museum is extremely comprehensive, with displays on three levels covering the history of Warsaw, the uprising itself, and the aftermath.
I came here on a Monday and it was free admission. I really enjoyed the well curated exhibit that walked me through the history and impact of the uprising. I recommend getting the audio guide that allows you to hear the extra commentary about the various exhibits.
This museum is actually very impressive if you like world war II history or you want to have a better understanding of Polish people and their willingness to fight against evil during world war II. Highly recommend.

Interesting museum about the history of the Warsaw Rising. The museum explores the background and the future of the city and the rebellion. If one is not a huge history fan, the museum might get a bit boring after a few exhibits. We visited on Sunday, and the queue lasted around an hour.

This is a really awesome museum if you are interested in WWII, polish history, and military history. It is a pretty large place and took us a while to see everything. There are a lot of guns and artifacts from WWII, as well as a lot of personal items like letters and journals. Speaking polish would be nice, but there was plenty in English also, so I felt like I got a lot out of it still. Highly recommended!

What an amazing Museum. The story of those who came before us preserved over time lest we forget what the cost of freedom really means. If your in the city as a tourist this is a must see attraction and more importantly a history lesson for the world that we cannot remain silent when faced with evil.

Wonderful experience. So much information, historical facts documented. The museum had a lot of objects from the second world war, including telephones, motorcycles, some movie registrations. I would totally recommend this museum to be visited by everyone who goes in Warsaw. I would visit it again, if I will have the chance.

Good museum to visit. It tells the story of the Second World War and what happened in Poland. I recommend at the entrance to use the audio guide in your language, it will be a better visit following the numbers to understand better. It has a lot to see!

A great memorial dedicated to the human spirit of fighting against all odds. Very moving, detailed and systematic display of everything related to the uprising. The two movies are well made. Really liked the story telling divided over 4 floors. Good place for adults and kids. It's a traffic style of brave people like us who fought for something they believed and lost but told in a very engrossing way. It's quite crowded. Even on a weekday afternoon in August.

Very nice, bug and interesting museum. Important history of Warsaw Uprising August - October 1944 insurrection in Warsaw during World War II by which Poles unsuccessfully tried to oust the German army and seize control of the city before it was occupied by the advancing Soviet army.

This Museum is well organised, very interesting, well laid out, and has a lot to see. I was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed every moment inside. It is so well worth the entrance fee. It's a must when you are in Warsaw. We bought Metro tickets for the day for 3 pounds I think and moved all over town on the tram. Loved it. Warsaw Poland is definitely so European. I can't wait to come back again. There is too much to see for a long weekend. I also found Warsaw to be affordable when travelling on the Pound. I honestly never thought of Poland as a travel destination for myself, and now, I am excited to return some day. I loved my experience here. I felt safe, and there is order.
Come and visit Poland. You're welcome.

A nice museum with a lot of material to see. 30 minutes might be just enough if you are quick, but for some people even several hours might not bee too much. Depends how precisely you want to read through all the texts and such.
Amos Friman — Google review
This museum was an in-depth dive into Poland and its uprising during the war!
I think it’s a crucial piece of history with details into specifics suffered in Poland and the incredible bravery mustered up by the people who refused to settle into the horrific position they were put in. It discusses the ghettos which was very interesting and something I personally didn’t know too much about
The museum layout was a little messy and the 3D fly through was a very interesting experience but was about a 40 minute wait for about a 7 minute film - wouldn’t recommend this
Otherwise the museum was a great one to visit and learn about Polands history! ✨

Great experience. Interesting museum, very informative and everything has an English translation. You need a few hours to fully enjoy all of the museum.
There's really big lockers for bags in the yard opposite the entrance. You need 5PLN coin to operate the lockers. I used a 50 euro cent coin which worked perfectly.
Free to visit on Mondays. I Highly recommend a visit

Must visit for anyone interested in Poland's WW2 history! It helps contextualize the country's difficult situation to a great extent. What I liked the most were the detailed descriptions from Hans Frank's diary of how the uprising was hurting the Nazis. If there's anything to improve it's making the visiting route clearer
Rui Mendes — Google review
I visited here on a Monday.
The signs are not clear on entry, as to where to get your tickets from🤦♂️🤷♂️
Being English, the ticket sign was written in Polish! In areas there was English written alongside Polish signs.
I had to get directions to find the ticket area. Oh its written as 'Kasa' a little building set on its own at the end of the courtyard👍
After all that, getting into the ticket office, I was surprised to find out it was free on a Monday! Result😀 so as I left the ticket office, I donated money into this huge glass collection box, outside.
There was no queue today, about 1.30pm.
There was no English tour guide available, so had to wander around and check out all the displays and read up on them.
It is another amazing part of Polish history! Solely based about The Warsaw Uprising.
There are so many areas based in here, all with written information or recorded vocal and filmed footage.
The struggles of the Polish people is truly upsetting, then the admiration and bravery of their Polish ancestors, fighting, sometimes an impossible fight.
The stories of support from other nations is commendable!
There is information here of the atrocities they went through, but the strength Polish men, women and children, even their Goats, supporting them with well need milk supplies😱
The stories of how they coped in the underground, then to try to fight against the strength of the Germans.
Living and moving through the drainage system, only to surface for well needed supplies!
The cinema room shows photography from an aircraft circling Warsaw after all the bombing! Truly upsetting😢 but admiration to all of the Polish people that tried to fight back!
Was nice to see the footage of Germans being captured and taken prisoner's after the war, some karma coming back to them, although the Polish were not barbaric like the Germans were.
You have to take several hours to take all the information in here at the Warsaw uprising museum.
I highly recommend coming here, just to learn what people have had to suffer and not to let it happen again.
Knowledge is power👍
I will have to go to the Tomb of the unknown Soldier again now, to pay my silent respects to all❤️

Great place to learn about the struggles and the resistance that took place during Natzi occupation in Warsaw. Obviously you go there to also pay respect and remember. It's a school kid age destination so you won't be there alone but it wasn't too crowded when we visited.
Henry D — Google review
The exhibition is interesting and well executed, a lot of historical pieces and stories about the polish people during WWII.
I do think that the part of jews in the resistance against the Nazis during WWII should be told, as it was one of the greatest rebellions against the germans during the war.
More over, it is hard to look at the polish people as complete victims knowing that a lot of polish people cooperated with the germans in the mass murder of jews during the war.
sharon tepper — Google review
It's amazing museum, But I suggest you another place too! Gdansk is a city north of Poland , has the biggest WWII museum I have ever seen with a lot of details.

I had an absolutely fantastic time at the Warsaw Uprising Museum. The attention to detail in the interior design is remarkable, truly capturing the essence of the era. I was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of information provided. I could spent an entire day engrossed in the exhibits, absorbing the stories and events that shaped the city's history.
Even though my visit was relatively short, I left with a profound sense of connection to the past. I'd strongly recommend allocating a good 2-3 hours to fully appreciate the experience. It's not just a museum visit – it's an journey that allows you to immerse yourself in the struggles, sacrifices, and triumphs of the people during that pivotal time.
The Warsaw Uprising Museum is an absolute must-visit, and I'm already planning to return. Whether you're a history buff or just curious about the past, this museum offers an exceptional opportunity to explore and learn. Don't miss out on this enriching and moving experience.

Unfortunately a great museum. Lot of interactive parts, with a well explained visit path, and the possibility to rent an audio guide for a more complete experience. Plan at least a few hours to completely experience the whole experience, as they also screen some movies and have a temporary exhibition on top of the standard museum that in itself is worth visiting when in town.
Ancient Gothic castle with historical exhibits, occasional war re-enactments & a media room.
Small scale but worth it for the history lesson. If you're in the area, do check it out. They offer a short tour that takes you through the towers and courtyard. Tour is in Polish only, sorry English only people.

They are in the process of renovation but an interesting visit nonetheless. It will occupy the children for about 2 hours then we took a stroll into town.
Christopher Smith — Google review
Few years ago renovation of the castle started and I have to say it was done very well. New building with multimedia room is good for children and people that want to know more about the place and city. The yard is nothing special but it sometimes change to a nice amphitheater when there are organized concerts there. There is also an hour long trip through both remaining towers of the castle that allows you to hear about history of its residents, see the whole city from the top or enjoy the legends that were born here.

Awas — Google review
My first ever visit in this castle and to my surprise it was really enjoyable, we had a guide that walked us though two of the towers and told the story of the castle and the town of Ciechanów, there were some kids in the group that seemed to be enjoying themselves, the guide made sure to keep them in focus. The tour took around one hour, the pricing was pretty low for the tour so not a wallet buster. Looking around there are visible works in progress in restoring this great piece of mazovian history.
Leon Weston — Google review
These well-restored castle ruins were once home to the Mazovian Dukes of old. Be sure to visit the towers, as the majority of the tour is to be found there, and limiting your tour to just the courtyard and the current museum exposition will mean missing out on the majority of the venue's content.

Well maintained ruins, nice surroundings. Rather pathetic displays.
Small museum in the birth house of storied composer Frédéric Chopin surrounded by tranquil parkland.
Being a foreigner living in Poland, this was one of my favorite places to visit. It is beautiful, with inspiring landscapes that look like paintings, the snow mixed with the sun made our tour an unforgettable day in this place. It breathes art, history, nostalgia, romance and culture. Chopin, a great classical music that will never be forgotten.

The birthplace of Frederick Chopin is a small museum located in a very grand and lovely garden. The museum, which is Chopin’s original house, is quite small and doesn’t display much since the family did not live a long time in it. A lot of Chopin’s items are located in the Chopin Museum in Warsaw. The place itself was very nice, but getting here was quite difficult due to the lack of transportation in the town of Sochaczew (where the train station is) to Zelazowa Wola. Uber/Bolt are rare, so taxi is your best choice.

If you love Chopin’s music and curious to get to know his early life, come here to the house where the great artist was born. It’s a small house showing the Chopin’s family life. The house is quite beautiful surrounded by a big wonderful green park where you can listen to the Chopin’s music. The tickets you can buy just directly at the spot, to visit museum on Saturday is possible after 4 pm. There is a nice cafe where you can drink a good coffee and eat something. Just 50 min from Warsaw.
Wonderful park with a really incredible palace. The entrance isn’t free, you need to pay, both for the park and for palace. Inside it’s very beautiful and picturesque, especially in spring when everything is blooming. There is one small cafe, but better go to cafes near the entrance. The parking costs 10 PLN (only cash). You can buy tickets to the palace directly being inside.

Modern zoo with animals from lions to kangaroos, plus a reptile house, exotic birds & petting area.
I like the place and it's my favorite place for a walk. This zoo has some interesting animals and excellent new aquarium with some special exhibits, like two meter long giant river fish. Terrariums are also interesting and there is a lot of variety. Everything seems well maintained now and I hope this will continue because the place deserves it. I would like this zoo to have some sort of Cafe or small permanent gastronomy with all-year service instead of temporary stands. This makes the Zoo look more like a place for everyone, animals too, instead of "tourist attraction for kids". I will continue to visit this zoo and I recommend others to visit it too.

It's ok. It would be a lot nicer if more of the towers were actually giving off the salt water people come for, often from a considerable distance. It would make it a lot more justifiable to charge five zloties in such a situation. As it was, my wife, elderly father-in-law and myself had to walk 250 to 300 meters just to get a small area of this. Not fun.

Jesus statue is in some way impressive it is the biggest statue in the world beating the size of Jesus in Rio de Janeiro. However it won also the competition of Makabryla for the most unsuitable and unmatched sculpture with the region/environment.
The statue is not close to any of big cities, means if you want to go better plan your trip. Following the road S3 close to Swiebodzin you can see (from far) small Jesus. Surprise is that it is not founded by tax of poles but it is collection of donations from local people and investors.
I’m assuming that for religious people it will be nice place to see.

Not majestic at all. It's rather a menekin than a sculpture. It looks cheap and its decaying.
Plus that it is still cool place to visit and it looks great from distance.

Impressive. The figure of Christ is installed on the 16 meter long embankment. The monument itself has a size of 36 m, of which 3.5 m with a crown on the head. The weight of the mesh concrete construction is 15 tons and the distance between the ends of the arms is 24 meters. The height of the structure, including the embankment, is 52.5 meters and its weight is estimated at 440 tons. The initiator of the construction of the monument was the pastor of Swiebodzin and in 2010 the monument was consecrated by Bishop Stefan Regmunt.

As much as it was a great idea, surroundings are cheesey and cheap looking. There is no access for disabled people to get to the statue. They have to stay by the little parking at the feet of the statue or they may(!) be able to get to few stations of the Cross (if that) that are built around. Even a person on crutches won't be able to get up there, or even elderly with walking difficulty. You need to climb steep metal steps to be able to get to the higher landing by the statue. I'm not disabled, but it shocked me that place like this was not designed with some common sense. As a Catholic, I'm ashamed. I'm sorry but I did not feel like I expected to. I have to admit that the road leading to the statue is very nice and beautifully landscaped. But that is all. The rest of the surroundings are not cared for.

This was an excellent experience! I thoroughly enjoyed the walk up to the feet of Jesus to represent the mountain Jesus conquered for us all! The statues that were along side the path that represented the different events leading up to the crucifixion and the beautiful view at the top. Our God is so good to us! Thanks Poland, for making sure a precious display of our King Jesus for all to enjoy! God is good 😇🙌
World War II prisoner-of-war camp, known for escape attempts & featured in The Great Escape film.
Excellent museum focusing on The Great Escape. Very interesting and informative. Nice exhibition and quite a few items.
You do need a car or a bike as there are three stations to go to separated by 1-2 km.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to go to the real great escape camp. My pops showed me this movie when I was 13 and I’ve watched it a lot throughout my life. So on my first euro trip I included Poland in it for a few days, rented a car and drove from Wroclaw, about 95 miles. The actual site is about a half a mile away from the museum which is really cool! The woman there didn’t speak English, you’re in zagan so it’s expected, I didn’t have cash, they require cash but she nicely let me in. I spent about two hours at stalag luft 3, there isn’t much there but remains, but it’s beautiful. Can’t believe I finally made it there.

Had an excellent experience and personal guided tour of the Museum Camps Stalag VIII C & Stalag Luft III by Museum Director Marek Lazarz. I had an uncle who was a POW in Stalag Luft III Nov 1944-Jan 1945. He survived. But I got to see the remains of the camps & tunnel memorial for the "Great Escape" in 1944. Truly an historical place of significance. Highly recommend a visit to this memorial to the past.

Really great place. Very friendly welcome, interesting museum complete with a tunnel you can go into. Very inexpensive and such good value. We also visited the exit site of Harry and wandered around where the hut was, saw the theatre, etc with helpful information boards. Definitely recommend. Thanks to the lovely man who served us and set up the TV room for us to play the film in English.

Just as Cieszyn is a city divided by a river (Olza) into Polish and Czech parts, so Łęknica - along with the surrounding Muskauer Park - is separated by a river (Nysa Łużycka) into Polish and German parts - where the town is called Muskauer. The castle has been preserved there.
We only spent a few hours there, but it was worth it. Great green spaces. We will definitely come back for a few more days to explore the area in more detail.

Krzywy Las, also known as The Crooked Forest, is a unique and mysterious site located in Nowe Czarnowo near Szczecin city in Poland. Planted in 1930, the forest features around 400 oddly-shaped pine trees with a distinctive C-shape. Despite numerous theories attempting to explain the unusual shapes of the trees, the mystery remains unsolved. Visitors recommend bringing a picnic lunch and enjoying the special atmosphere of the crooked grove.

The place is quite small, like a backyard. May be 50 crooked tress maximum. It was a good visit. Follow the google map, at first it feels wrong place, but you need park on the side of the road as there is no dedicated parking spot. Just leave the car and start walking in the forest. In 5 mins you will reach the well preserved spot. The route is marked with directions.

One big disappointment. There are some crooked trees but not so many. The city should clean the area from bushes as well. And the kindergarten shouldn't build treehouses on the crooked trees. You can come here if you are going this way anyway but to take a trip only for this is not worth it.

It's awful. I was fantasizing about visiting the place since i saw a photo in a book 10 years ago. I came to Szczecin for this. As people said already it's 20 trees all together and a lot are cut. Around, you have pipes and smoke of factories. It is at the best a sucessful metaphor of destruction. The beauty is to be seeked elsewhere : good luck.

If I were a pine tree, I would grow crooked too so no one would want to cut me down. Trees are very smart. Let me mention this.. one day, I was burning leaves and sticks under some trees, and they started dropping drops of water. There were no clouds around, neither.
I'm from the USA, so I haven't visited yet.

A mysterious forest of crooked pine trees?! We drove from Berlin to see this and I am so glad we did!
Advice: 1) bring a picnic lunch. There is a table to eat at and this is a special place to relax. 2) If you have time, make it into a longer hike. The crooked grove is not far from where you park. If you want to hike further, there is a path leading to a river with ducks and herons.
As a Forester, I can't believe that the mystery of the trees is unsolved!
Miche Palmer — Google review
The amazing forest is located in Poland, near the town of Gryfino. On an area of about 1.7 hectares, there is a pine forest with outlandish trees, unlike any other in the world. The name of this forest is just as unusual - "Crooked Forest"
How it happened that trees grow in such an unusual way, no one knows ...
There are several versions of the appearance of this “crooked forest”, one of them is that the pine forest was planted in 1930-34 by the Germans who inhabited these lands before the Second World War, and they also carried out some of their experiments.
According to the second version, the local breeder wanted to grow a forest where no one could get lost, so all the trees are turned to the north. However, until the end, he did not realize his plan, as the Second World War interfered. Perhaps these trees were intended for the production of sledges, just not far from here a sleigh factory operated at one time.
It is said that at the very beginning of the twentieth century, someone was experimenting with the production of "pre-curved" wood. Such wood should have been intended for shipbuilding or for the production of furniture.
There are versions that it was nature at some time with its strong winds that forced the pines to bend in this way, perhaps even breaking them at first, but then the trees still survived and began to stretch upwards towards the sun, creating an arc.
Wonderful park created by Prince Pückler in 1846 with ponds, waterways and bridges. Earth pyramids on land and in the middle of a pond are lovely.
A fine castle with sculptures is inspired by Greek, Roman and Oriental mythologies.
The castle's interior is splendid.
In my opinion more intriguing than Bad Muskau Park.

I've been to better spas.....
My wife and I went here last night because we received a gift certificate for our wedding. We spent a little over 6 hours in the pool and sauna.
Unfortunately, we didn't like it that much. While the saunas themselves are great, our favorite was the panoramic sauna overlooking the lake, everything else is tiny and feels cramped. The large saltwater pool is nice, but not as relaxing. And again, the space between the pools and the beds is very small and hard to walk around.
A big positive surprise was the restaurant. We had the edamame, gyoza, mangu curry with shrimp and bun bo nam bo. It was delicious. Probably one of the best Thai meals I've had west of Phuket.
Unfortunately, the evening ended on a sour note as the parking garage is also - surprise, surprise - super cramped and I scratched the rims of our car going down the super narrow ramp.
To sum up: we've been here, but we prefer the SpreewaldTherme in Burg or the VaBali Spa in Berlin.

Amazing spa experience! Beautiful, warm, clean and relaxing. Especially loved the new sauna Panorama building that has several saunas inside like a salt sauna, a steam bath and a bread sauna, where you can sweat next to an old bread oven and can even get a taste of the fresh bread after the bake!
The aquasound floating pool was nice but we were really missing pool noodles or any other floating supports for the neck.
The service and personnel was very friendly and made our visit very pleasant. Thanks!

This is one of the most relaxing and clean public thermal and spa places I've seen.
It's affordable, you can reach it by train and public transport in less than an hour and half from Berlin. They have different kinds of pools inside and outside. I would like to give a plus point for the pool with underwater music and its relaxing atmosphere. I heard its textile-free for adults on Saturday. Make a phone call and reassure it before you head on to this beautiful oasis.

Good place for relaxation, available outdoor and indoor pools. One pool with cold water the other pools with warm and salty water. Fountains and jacuzzi available. Changing cabins and lockers for valuables are there as well. Parking is within 2 minutes walk. First few hours of parking are free. Prices are reasonable for the service you get. Lounge chairs for sunbathing outdoors as well as indoors available. Within half an hour 40 min drive from Berlin or Frankfurt Oder. Recommend.

Almost perfect, but not for our massage experienced -overpriced for the quality and not recommended at all. Although, the place itself is relaxing with a beautiful view of the lake from sauna. Better to explore around the area by cycling when it’s warmer. Not bad after all!

I spent 3 hours in pools, 1 hour in saunas and spent for it 45 Euro- it’s too much.
The water is warm and thermal ,but it would be nice to repair pool tiles.
The saunas are perfect with great view of park and lake ,but unfortunately they are too small and inside of the building is not enough space for all people.

if you searchi g for the place to relax from city rush - its a great place for relax outside the big city (just about 1H drive from berlin) and they have also a parking lot. in winter and when its colder outside also in the air nice smells from fireplaces around. Saulty water with indoor and outdoor pools with warm water (about 34C).. also few days per week are open for the visits without kids-you can enjoy quite time there. IMO, best ever time is to visit later in the evening to catch up a sunset and darkness with first stars in the sky. also they have implemented a nice idea to add candles and very good lighting in the pools in the evening time :)) the only one small negative thingy is the parking lot exit -i think already have happened 2 times: sometimes it gets broken in the evening time. Maybe too many people were exiting during the day and filled up the tickets storage or whatever, so it stops receiving tickets and starts to work super slowly and you can not leave parking lot anymore, but support works quickly and after 5-8 minutes all the queued cars for exit managed to leave the parking lot.

We came to bad Saarow for a weekend trip to get out of the city (berlin) and relax a bit.
My girlfriend has not been to a Therme, but I’ve been to multiple ones over the year, mostly in NRW/the Rheinland.
Bottom line, it was an „ok“ experience.
Value for money could be better, as the prices are around 40€ if you want to go to the saune and Thermalbad (4h)
Let’s start with the Thermalbad area:
It’s one big inside pool that connect to the large one outside, and a few smaller whirlpools. Nothing special, not bad either.
What surprised me most was the fact that they build the Therme on a rather large area, but still didn’t really feel big. It’s also not really cozy.
There are a lot of places to lay down, but people occupy these with their towels even though it is explicitly said that you are not allowed to do that and should free the spaces and put your stuff in the provided baskets (nice feature) - the reality is that this is ignored by 90% of the guests and the people working there do not care (according to the notes on the wall they are the ones that will then remove your towels, if you don’t follow the rule as given). So this is quite annoying and you never get the chance to really find a spot, take out your book and unwind.
The sauna area:
We were there ok a Saturday in February (no kids allowed day) and it was not overcrowded, but still the sauna area didn’t offer enough space to store your belongings, move comfortably around and/or really relax. The sauna concept is not really thought through and make good use of the areas.
The silent room in the sauna area:
This was super disappointing. Again, people occupied the loungers with their towels. Also there was no real silence and people talked - not really relaxing. There should be a worker there enforcing this.

This spa is about 1 hour by train from Berlin then around 20 minutes by bus. Ideally you should spend at least 3 hours to really enjoy it. It offers jacuzzi, swimming pools and sauna. I loved the jacuzzi and the lavender sauna along with many cold and hot showers.
Daily pass cost Euro 27 and 10 extra for sauna. Unfortunately, the food is very limited and the sitting is just wooden benches with ants crawling all over the tables. Obsulatly disgusting! There is a nice park overlooking a lake next to it , it's worth a visit.

For 3 hours cost is 17 euro around, I paid in January 2020. They give a bracelet for entrance and locker to put your stuff safely. Only one thing was really annoying if you go there really busy time, after bathing when you’re exiting from the place you need to wait in the line to give your bracelet and for payment! It’s horrible system which I saw first time in my entirely life! Why they’re not taking money at the entrance and putting a box to want us to put bracelets... I didn’t expect from Germany sorry but disappointed.

A bit too small for the entry fee but as a student you get 1,50€ discount on regular 5,00 €. Even in the small venue, it shows the culture and lifestyle of then isolated community of Spreewald. You can even try some of the old wooden shoes and try washing clothes in the old north sorbic way. You can listen to how the language of the area used to be. I was excited to see, how the women used to cover their head and hairs some 50-60 years ago in western countries, and why the generations of same culture take the same thing from other cultures as questionable after just 50/60 years.

Nice place for family with kids. A lot of playgrounds for young ones. Recommended.
Only suggestion to park it self. They should work on hygiene in animal areas and update web site as it's stated there that dogs are not allowed, so I left mine at home, but when going on site saw a lot of people walking there with dogs.
If it's forbidden then apply the rule, and if not then update web site.

This is a lovely zoo, especially if you like big cats. We were able to admire a tiger, cheetahs, lions, jaguar and serval, not to mention several species of monkey, a colony of penguins, a bison with a baby, and some seriously underrated domestic cattle 😁 We entered on a family ticket for 25 euros (2 adults and 2 children over 4yo), which I think was a very fair price.

Bus back from the Zoo once per hour as well on 52. Ie. 15:52. As thee buslane also has to cross the train tracks, traffic can be slow and the bus time is an indication only. The bus yesterday only came 16:15 and we just made our connecting train back to Berlin Hbf 16:37.

We love this little place. Lots of playgrounds. Beware some animals roam free, like little monkeys! One star iff, because not enough service ppl for food station, also the lady did an amazing job juggling serving, refilling and billing!

A nice little park. Easy to walk around and love the free walking animals! A big plus for the food automates that I could buy seeds and so on for the birds donkeys and goats. A little bit hard to locate where everything is though. Free parking!
