Excellent craft beer bar. Good selection, nice atmosphere. Most cities in Norway don’t have something this nice for beer lovers.

First of all, I visited this place two days in a row, the first time I visited I didn't feel welcome at all, 55 minutes until closing time and the waitresses first words to me was: You'd better hurry up, I'm closing up soon, she then threw me out 15 minutes before closing time.
BUT, the awesome dude that worked there the next day was service minded, funny and fast when it came to serving!
Good beers, good time!
Ivar Lobben — Google review
This is a place where cosy really meets its maker. You want to have a nice time talking with your friends with some beer or wine, this is the place. There are wooden tables all over the place and probably not so comfortable chairs, but the atmosphere makes you drift away from that thought. The staff is very friendly and they know their beers.
The variation of beers is from 1 to 10. They have 30l kegs for every type and when one is empty they switch with another type. So there is a nice variety. They have red wine and whitewine. I don't really know if it's any special wines, but they are nice 😊😊
There are also a lot of boardgames there for those who'd like to play some alias or cluedo(and/ many more.)
I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a nice time bonding with their friends. Probably not the most romantic place, but it's nice.

Very cosy place with nice beverages and snacks. The garden is a very beautiful spot and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.
(Translated by Google) Recommended for families. Useful, funny and informative. Not only is the museum fun, but the staff are more than helpful in finding activities that suit you in the local area (i.e. other museums). I've almost never come across anything like good service on Facebook chat.
Really gives 10 stars, but it doesn't work.
The activity "Night at the museum" is great fun (and scary) for both children and adults.
Thank you very much for being there :)

Anbefales for familier.
Tusen takk for at dere finnes :)

My favorite ferry between Denmark and Norway. You will find restaurants, Duty free shopping store, bar, luggage storage, passenger seats and a lot of nice things that make your trip pleasant for 3.5 hours. Summer is pleasant on deck. You can also find a place to smoke here

My first time of boarding color line ferry and the experience was great 🤩 everything was simply the best.
It has buffet style of restaurant, dubbed 'catch me if you can', which is dope. The place is very tidy and clean. The crew members are doing amazing job.
I'm loving it 🤠.
Hoping to board it again. I give them 5 stars.

Nice ferry which brings you to Denmark fast and smooth. We reserved a table at the buffet (Catch me if you can) were we could sit quiet and enjoy good food the whole trip. Price is affordable. Would absolutely recommend this ferry when you travel between Norway and Denmark.

Superb ferry journey. Great food, plenty of space. We didn’t book a seat and didn’t need to. A bit pricey but a very good way of accessing Norway on a Euro road trip
Angus Peel — Google review
Our boat from Larvik to Hirtshals was full capacity on the morning trip. We arrived 45 mins prior to departure and the check-in and embarkation with our car was smooth and orderly.
Once onboard, it was overcrowded and overflowing with people waiting, walking, sitting anywhere and everywhere, kids crying, parents chasing kids, lines already forming for the duty-free and buffet. The air in the restaurant and shopping levels was stuffy, stagnant and bad.
We had the a la carte breakfast at the Fly Me To The Moon restaurant. Food was average, salty but portions were adequate. Although the restaurant area was crowded and every table occupied, people are willing to share their tables.
We had reserved seats for the trip. This cabin area is relatively quieter and seats are coach styled and comfortable. We paid 99NOK extra per seat but it was worth it as the other options was linger in the crowded common area, sit on benches on the open deck where it might be too windy and under the strong sun or sit on the floor somewhere inside.
The journey was speedy. We arrived on time and disembarkation was smooth and quick.

Great ferry service to Hirtshals, crew is friendly and the boat is very clean, tax-free shop has all one could need on the trip over the ocean and its absolutely a bonus that its both cheaper and quicker than fjordline leaving from Langesund. Would absolutely recommend this ferry

sailed with Colorline between Norway and Denmark for several times now. Smooth with getting on and off the ship. And the ferry itsself is pretty good too! Space to walk around, sit, shop and eat. Bussines class is extra nice, very quiet.
Beautiful waterfall - definitely worth stumbling around the woods and climbing up and down some seriously steep paths! Be careful, though and wear appropriate shoes for hiking.
Sasa Mladenovic — Google review

Fme that was cool. Recommend to anyone who loves nature. Take flip flops with you if you want to reach waterfall. It's worth to go

A bit challenging track down and through a river to reach the waterfall, but this comes with no other tourists and amazing waterfall "lake"
Michal Pavli? — Google review
Awesome place for a day trip, cool natural waterfalls. The actual Trollfoss water fall is tricky to get to and is not well signposted and you might end up at a diffrent waterfall, bring a map!
Depending on what time of year you go the amount of water in the river vary a lot! Melting ice early summer makes the water level higher and heavy rains late summer also. When the water level is too high, bring shoes you can get wet if you want to see Trollfoss

Recommended! It was a fantastic experience for the kids. Plenty of activities for all ages, friendly staff, enough resting places for the adults, with the possibility to eat your own food or buy something there. You can even grill your food. Decent ticket and food prices as well. Can't recall anything suboptimal, hence 5* review :)

Not crowded, well maintained family park.
It’s well developed picnic/grill zone is surrounded with many different playgrounds!
Tip 1: take your grill food!
Tip 2: food that is served in parks eateries is NOT possible to swallow. So just grill and you will be fine :)
It’s very friendly place for small children and parents will not have a problem to let them run freely.

Lovely family park in a farm setting. The mix between animals, attractions and entertainment is perfect for a day out with young children. Prices are average for norwegian standards.
The park had multiple food courts with plenty of options.
Visited this museum in winter season without knowing that it would be closed. Nothing much to see in winter, you cant find even a single person in and around the museum. The place looked good and probably shld be a good visit in summer.

We didn't go to the museum. But we visited the waterfall all the way at the back. It's free! Just park your car and walk for 5 minutes.
There are no fences, and you do have to walk over some rocks. So I can't advice taking small children.

Long pebble beach with panoramic sunset views & hundreds of cairns marking ancient tombs.

I recomend this place when its stormy weather. When ocean is calm and sun is shining; then there are so many other places to enjoy in the region (sandy beaches and cold beer).. but when weather is bad and nowhere to go then this is the place.. Here you see the power of nature. Btw, the viking history is also one reason to visit this place.. but Larvik was full of vikings all over so no reason to just go here..

Brekkeparken is a museum of traditional nordic houses and cottages, located in a beautiful park. The small lake with ducks, the old trees and the numerous colourful tulips create a peaceful atmosphere.
We only visited the park. There is also a museum inside the building, but it was closed late in the afternoon.
There is a cafeteria selling sandwiches and cake. The view on the terrace is really nice. A part of the Skien city center, including the church, and also the river Skienselva are visible from this higher point.
The park is a good place to spend time in nature with the whole family.

Beautiful parked nestled in the small cozy city of Skien. It has splendid spread of flowers across and old historical wooden houses from 17th century. It's worth visiting in summer as the sunny view of skien from top looks simply amazing. It has couple of kafe and restaurant as well along with an old historical stage where you can see some good performances. Ofcourse it's on a little elevation from Skien central so you would have to walk lot of stairs but it's worth the efforts.

We purchased the half day canal ride and history/dinner program in Ulefoss. It was a wonderful time. Very child-friendly science activity museum. Alot of hands-on science installations. Among the coolest is a boat-simulator and crane-simulator, a room that messes with your sense og gravity, and alot more. There are a simple restaurant, and a little acience shop as well. Maybe to few parking spots. It's free parking at a shoping center 200m west of the science museum. Up to 3hour free parking, which should be enough for most people.

This place also has date specific events which you should check out on their website. This place is definitely worth a visit especially with kids.

Science museum for kids and grown-ups too. Scientific facts are explained through games and experiments. For example, the usage of pulleys and ropes is demonstrated practically, by lifting bags.

There is a cafeteria at the first floor (ground floor) of the building.

Good fun in the pools on a very hot day but not crowded, so plenty of room to swim and/or relax. Coming from the UK, the seamless integration of everything via your wristband was a very pleasant surprise. Great service and location by the lake. We stayed in one of the new glamping domes, which are very well equipped and stylishly decorated. On sunny days they get really hot, so exit by 9 o'clock or get fried! ;) Lots of stuff to do for the kids! The pizza at the restaurant is really good. Our only problem was the lack of warm water for the showers, both in the morning and evening.

Nice place to bring kids and family. Water skiing, pedal boats, canoes, and much more to do. We also went on a boat trip through the many water locks (nor: sluser) in the Telemark-kanalen. The boat stopped right at docks at this place. The food in the restaurant was not too great. A good tip is to walk over to the Norsjø Hotel, they have a fantastic BBQ buffet.
Lovely to be able to visit a real brewery and cidery with their own brewery pub. Enjoy your cold beverage inside, or outside in the beautiful garden. Take away products from their shop. Beautifull scenery and friendly staff.

The most wonderful, warm and overall so incredible experience I had, this brewery/farm/family place is just a heaven on Earth. We loved the beers and ciders we tried, the food was lovely and ah, those views. Never saw the area where you can clearly see that every single tree is loved, that you can be sure immediately that you will receive as much love and care, as many smiles as possible.

Flott preken.
It was a very cozy place, intimate and very easy to interact with the animals as they're so close. My favorite part of the zoo was the Fish pond I found it very relaxing you could sit on the stairs, and I would recommend you take a little bit of time to sit on the stairs and enjoy watching different types of beautiful colorful fishes unfold themselves.
Ofcos the monkeys the snakes and all the other animals there were also very fascinating to see them so close .

We were very disappointed.
After reading options on Google and TripAdvisor we were expecting small kid friendly place with a good food.
The only place we got any service was when we bought the tickets. We didn't even get the map.
The playing ground was OK.
We couldn't see even one person working in the park (checking on animals).
The park is very small, few animals. In the "part" with rabbits we were terrified how other kids treating those poor animals.... Running after them, carrying upside down. We have rabbits home so we were shocked that it was no-one to look after animals.
Food we ordered was tasteless and the meat was burned. My husband ordered the burger, he asked how big was 🍔 and he got the answer 160g. The burger was extremely small and burned but we were so hungry that we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for the new one.
The whole trip was disappointment and we can not recommend this place. Please get someone to keep eye on those poor animals!

I understand that running a zoo costs a lot but for the size of the zoo, the tickets were too expensive. It is worth to pay a visit once but we won't go there again.
The kangaroo section was up the hill with a very rocky path to take stroller. We got to the top of the hill with a lot of struggle and then it said the kangaroo section is closed for the season. It would have been nice to have a sign down the hill so we wouldn't go up for nothing.

An absolutely fantastic Zoo that is perfectly arranged for families with children. Here, most animals roam freely in dedicated areas so that you get them as close as possible! Outside there is a large play area for the children and benches you can sit and enjoy the sight of happy children playing, and easily follow what the children are doing. Here you can also sit down to eat brought or bought food and drink, and there are grills you can use. If you have special needs, they are happy to accommodate if possible. Can't wait to go back!

Great zoo! Very kid friendly as it is in a small area, not requiering a ton of walking. Also, it has a kid playground, a gas grill that can be used to cook food that you have brought with you, free of charge, a nice, small resturant, clean toilets and awesome service. And, of course, the rainforest is incredible!

Very cozy zoo, with hands on experiences with the animals. The employees were really nice and accommodating, but also very knowledgeable. This was my 3rd time there and I'd definitely come again :)

It.s a very small zoo, but cozy and you can interract more with the animals. It.s especially nice for kids. Large playing area for all ages too!
Nice place to do ski and have a short brake with coffee and wafle at the restaurant in ski lodge.

Close to the coast and reasonably sized, but ski cards are a bit expensive in my view. Has a nice cafeteria near the top, if you can find it. 😉 The main lift takes 6 passengers and is very fast.

Good slopes for all skiers. Both experienced and rookie skiers.
Nice café in the middle of the hill on the outskirts of the slopes, with homemade cooking.
Gautefall seemed a bit expensive, but it's worth it if you like to go skiing down hill and cross country.

Smaller then expected. Icey (unprepared) slopes. Very bad roads from Oslo.
Nice cafeteria and efficient lifts (except for the green slopes, avoid at all cost)
Even it's only open Saturdays and Sundays it's a great place to eat before or after a walk by the Skagerrak(the ocean between Norway and Denmark) - when the weather is bad it's a great place to be amazed by the powers of nature

(Translated by Google) Awesome function room! We had our wedding reception there in August and it was fantastic fun! Good waiters and really professional owners of the place who are helpful and have a lot of experience with wedding parties. Warm recommendations if you want to celebrate an occasion at Bjellandstrand farm!

Kjempeflott selskapslokale!
Did not expect to find this amount if high quality science related games and puzzles inside. Kids were having a really good time. It is relatively small, but many things to explore for everybody. On a rainy day it was just really crowded, but posed no problems. Friendly staff willing to help out and fluent in English.

We went to visit the Science Center with a group of 2 adults and 3 students earlier on a tuesday morning. Everyone had a fantastic time letting out their inner child. We had a great time exploring all the puzzles, information boards and activities. We also have to say a special thanks to the friendliest employee we met overall on our vacation in norway. Our highlight by far was the Gyro -Station also known as a Spacecurl, where you could expierience G-force on your Body.

(Translated by Google) Perfect service,
surprisingly good food, we did not expect this in little Arendal. We ordered the starter with roe 3 times and duck on lefse 2 times and many more small dishes.
Suddenly we were proud of a restaurant in Arendal, thank you very much to those of you who bend your necks and persevere.
Forgot to brag about the wine, especially the rose wine.
This was simply Gørr Go Mad

Perfekt service ,

(Translated by Google) Probably the best wine experience of the year. The small dishes are homemade, honest and very well paired with the wines.
The service hits. We got in good contact with both waiter and chef, who could tell the small but important stories about what was stirring in the glass.
We asked the kitchen to surprise us, which they did brilliantly. Among other things, I got something as unusual as Greek sparkling wine. It went perfectly with toast with roe. Then a French Chenin blanc together with a long-baked pork neck with pomegranate and hazelnuts. Absolutely beautiful combination of taste and texture. The third course was an oaked Pinot noir with duck in lefse, deliciously composed with sour sour cream, pickled red onion, crunchy cucumber and sweet hoisin. Dish no. 4 was the best from the same world: Barolo and Parmesan. So good - and so easy. Class.
We specifically asked for dessert wine at the end, and surprisingly got to travel back decades in vintages. Not going to reveal exactly what we drank, but together with orange ice cream and cookie we couldn't help but let the holiday feeling come over us.
With tips, we (2 people) ended up with NOK 2,500 for five small dishes with five lovely glasses of wine. A lot of quality for the money.
Rarely write reviews, but want this newly established wine bar to succeed so much that it is worth spending time on.
We will be back here in the New Year.

Mye kvalitet for pengene.

Stay for 200kr a night, awesome sunsets and sunrise!
Modern quarters in a stylish, animal-themed hotel featuring a bar, a restaurant & conference space.
Very nice location a bit outside of town. Next to the entrance to the zoo so in the morning you can see Zebras. Extra fee (200NOK) for bringing dogs - so no problem to bring your companion. Since I booked very late I didn't have time to inform them about the dog in advance but that was absolutely no problem.
Room and bathroom are very clean and there's plenty of room.

Nice hotel, really cool lobby and kind staff. Rooms weren’t too shabby however they’re long due some renewal. There were stains on the matras that you could see through the sheets, the overthrow didn’t look like it had been cleaned and the bathroom showed signs of usage.
Ines Goossens — Google review
Situated 10-15 minutes drive from Kristiansand at the local zoo. The service is good. The food is even better. The hotel is crowded in the holiday season, but I strongly recommend a stay.
jan erik johannessen — Google review
The hotel is nice and clean, but the room is extremely small. The space between the bed and the sleeping sofa (when it is open) is literally only enough to pass a person of time.as it is meant for 2-4 person, it gets really crowded and uncomfortable there.
Renata Hungari — Google review
The best about this hotel is location. Right besides Dyreparken.
Hotel is rather expensive as all is in Dyreparken. Room we have gotten was small. Beds were clean and comfortable. View towards Zebras and Emus - very good.
Food was not just expensive - it was extremely expensive, so I did not try. There are much cheaper restaurants in Sorlandsparken.
There is an free parking in front of hotel and Dyreparken for hotel guests.
It is worth checking other options as well for hotels in area.

It’s an ok hotel that’s starting to show it’s age.
Good breakfast included and a great view and location to the zoo/park. The staff is friendly.
It’s main focus is as a family hotel so it can get loud in the common area’s.
The rooms are now a bit worn after so many years.
Parking location is very good.
This review is for the main hotel, not abra havn or the tents.
Expensive (Norway is an expensive country)
But as the rooms are old it feels like your getting less value for the price.

Perfect for family. There’s a Zoo and a ride inside the park. They have also a waterpark with outdoor and indoor pools and waterslides. Best to go there during summer as the outdoor pools are open.

Super family-friendly vacation spot. Walk out the door, and you are at the edge of the zoo with various animals. Step out the back to find yourself in the middle of the amusement park's pirate ship adventure!
Being American, it was nice that most of the staff spoke English very well and did not laugh at our attempts to speak Nowegian! 😁
Would love to bring our older grandchildren here.

I normally stop here when I work at Dyreparken. Beautiful place, well themed, zoo right outside the front door. What's not to like?
Restaurant is large and comfortable. The evening buffet has everything, as does the breakfast. Staff are outstanding. A lot of the staff have been there for years and know everything you need to know.
The rooms are a reasonable size and the en suites well fitted. There are coffee /tea facilities in the room. The TV has several Norwegian channels but a lot of films and tv series are English anyway and it isn't dubbed.
The photo shows the view from my room (303). The zoo is just across the car park.

Reception is open 24/7. Warm welcome. Room was clean and of the right size. Breakfast was simply perfect: everything you want was there. After one day work, I decided to stay in the hotel for dinner. Food was OK but the "Panna Cotta" at the end was like in Italy! Surprising!!!

Last stop on my Road Trip across Norway, ferry this afternoon so I stopped here. What a lovely place to stop at. Comfortable rooms, lovely buffet restaurant. I think it would be different when kids are on holidays, the amusement park next door looks like it could be a lot of fun!!

The location was nice, good view etc. However, the food was next to tasteless. Nothing special.

Really nice rooms for travel, but for staying with a propper family for multiple days pretty small.
The tech was really nice. Some power sockets, a really well tough through Media system, the TV has multiple funcionalities (TV, Chromecast & another casting solution, a way to plan the stay at the park on the tv and some other suff).
Very fast internet for a hotel!
Very clean hotel!
Really good buffets. The dinner has a little selection, but mostly really delicious foods (only one roast beef was too stiff). The breakfast has a huge selection (only criticism as a german, no honey at the buffet, only at the tea stand).
Overall a really enjoyable stay!
Sørlandssenteret is a vast mall featuring over 150 stores, comprising both local and global brands. It offers an array of casual dining options as well. The mall can be reached from Kristiansand Dyreparken by walking through a trial in 15-20 minutes. Sørlandssenteret has numerous party shops like Party Land, and Outland store where one can buy Taiwanese and Asian snacks. There is also Strikkeliv for yarn and textile enthusiasts.
As an American living in Norway, Sørlandssenteret has probably got the best selection I'm gonna get. Recommended for people into obscure stuff you can't find anywhere else.
