Imposing neogothic-style castle with an important art collection plus sculpture & herb gardens.
Very nice place to visit. Castle, inside museum. Nice Cafe with garden, shop with souvenirs.

Unfortunately the castle was closed but we were able to wander the grounds. Beautiful. Fun play area with a tree house and zip line. Some statues and other art. Nice walk.
Jennifer MacLachlan — Google review
The castle itself is pretty. It just feels a bit empty on some parts and I whish there is more of history background.
The voucher in café is great. You get drinks for a cheap with it :)
Ema V — Google review
Beautiful outside.. strange modern art museum inside. The history of the property was pushed to the basement.
D.J. Roberts — Google review
Beautiful statue park. Largest collection of different Hortensia's I've ever seen. The park alone is worth a visit (separate entrance fee). Very well restored castle with interesting and very well presented (changing) exhibitions. Definitely also worth the small entrance fee.
Jan Baetens — Google review
Schloss Moyland offers a unique blend of history and modern art. While the neo-Gothic architecture impresses, the art exhibitions may not cater to all tastes. The picturesque gardens provide a serene backdrop, ideal for family strolls. A visit here is a cultural experience that sparks diverse reactions

great place to go with the whole family. .tickets are not expensive views beautiful. at the end you can drink coffee and pay a slightly less voucher for the purchase of a ticket to the museum. beautiful views the surrounding nature and the old buildings of the castle figures of the beautiful park
Anna Scibisz — Google review
Very beautiful castle, gorgeous garden, super nice place to walk around and enjoy the nature, but inside of castle is disappointing. New modern art museum inside, totally not my style and some artist's skupture exhibition, not very beautiful. We went to that castle with expectation to see how was castle hundreds years ago, how people lived, how it looked like, to feel that spirit. Inside is completely white everything renovated, feel like normal building. 😕
Toon Vilma — Google review
Beautiful castle with a gorgeous view at the top. The castle has lost some of its magic due to renovations though. The garden is also very relaxing
Jeff Mühlrad — Google review
The castle absolutely worth a visit , the charming beauty of the building not to mentioned the stunning garden, family ticket ( of 5 person cost €15 and you’ve got €5 coupon back that you can use at their cafe , I mean they serves a lavazza coffee so it ain’t shabby at all with all local cakes delicacy) tough the exhibition inside were really my cup of tea unless you’re modern arts lover while I’m more Vincent Van Gogh arts admires
maheswari tribhuana — Google review
Gardens very nice, quirky herb gardens, art installations in gardens also quite appealing. Castle itself very pretty. Outside is keept old, inside renovated to modern standards in order to hold the art exhibitions. It is very unique taste of art, not to everybody's taste, but culturally important milestone.
Museum specializing in exhibitions of modern realist painting, primarily by Dutch artists.
Excellent collection of modern realism painting and sculpture by Dutch artists. I loved some paintings, but a few sculptures look scurry as from horror movies. Permanent collection is big, and there is an exhibition. Parking is big and free. Stuff is very friendly and supportive. The museum has access for wheel chairs.
Andrii Prokopets — Google review
Good and interesting museum. Saw new artworks from new artists I had never heard of. Nice atmosphere and staff. Building was also very spacious and allowed for easy access to all the floors.

Mauritius Hermsen — Google review
Absolutely loved it. Such incredible artwork. The permanent exhibitions are really good & highly worth seeing. The temporary ones are a bit hit or miss according to my family who go regularly, I went on a miss day but it was still really fun.
Hennie — Google review
Nice museum with Dutch neorealism art that opened in 2015. I was most impressed by the building itself and parts of the semi-permanent collection. Personally, I found the temporary exhibitions with work from Konrad Klapheck and Bob Ross less interesting.
Freek de Bruijn — Google review
Went with friends and their few months-old baby. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the museum's quiet calm and elegant colourscape meshed so well with the kid. The restaurant was gracious about allowing the baby to cry a little at first, and when she fell asleep we continued the exploration.
You may wonder why that is relevant, but to my friends, this proved they can in fact go out with the baby. That is a big deal, and MORE made that realisation possible.
The modern art in the museum is carefully curated and excellently presented, with clear, non-intrusive information provided in well lit texts. The appreciation of the displayed art itself is - as ever - subject to personal preference, but to this reviewer, presentation and background information made the exhibits work very well.
The museum is located in the picturesque town of Gorssel, nearby Deventer, and is an excellent morning or afternoon trip if you are staying in the area. The town has cute amenities, and I can in good conscience definitely recommend a visit.
Joas Haster — Google review
Museum MORE is a Dutch museum in Gorssel, Netherlands. The display of the paintings and exhibits it is totally worth it, even though the location of the museum is not very convenient and takes some time to travel. The paintings guide you through a diversity of emotions and the realism of the exhibits is unbelievable. Museumkaart is valid for a discount on the entrance ticket. I enjoyed my visit here and do recommend to add the museum on to visit list in Netherlands.

Little gem, nice museum. Hidden in the beautiful green region of the Achterhoek, about a 15-minute drive from Deventer. Beautiful and intriguing exhibitions. Friendly employees, and excellent catering.

Very interesting and diverse collection. The Bob Ross exhibit was the main reason for our visit but the other parts of the collection were still great.
Sassenpoort is a historical landmark in the center of Zwolle, built in 1409 as the only remaining city tower. It stands at 42mts high and has four levels, originally constructed for defending the city from external attacks. The tower also served as an archive and military prison. Visitors can access all floors by paying a fee of 5 and guided tours are available in Dutch, German and English languages to enlighten them with the history of the town.
A very interesting place. An interesting brief history of the city in pictures, the decoration of the rooms. You can even shoot a bow there! Also listen to the bell. Unfortunately there is no way out. But at the top there is a window with a beautiful view of the city. If you put your phone away, you can take beautiful pictures. The ticket is only about 5 euros.

Built in 1409, Sassenpoort is the only remaining city tower from Zwolle, measuring 42mts high (138 feet). It has 4 levels and was originally built to defend the city from attacks from the outside. 🏰 It also functioned as an archive and military prison.
If you want to visit the three upper leves, you have to pay a fee of 5€. 💸 The guides are able to give you information in Dutch, German and English, and are well versed in the story of the city. I would say it is a must! 👌🏼

The Sassenpoort (English: Sassen gate) is a gatehouse in the citywall of Zwolle, Netherlands. It was built in 1409 out of dimension stone, mostly trachyte and tuff, and restoration work was done in 1893-1898. The gatehouse is a 'rijksmonument' and is part of the Top 100 Dutch heritage sites.

Stunning piece of early brick architecture. Guides were warm and welcoming, too.
Museum de Fundatie is an art museum located in a neoclassical courthouse by the canal in Zwolle. The museum boasts of a renowned international art collection and features large-scale temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists. Its small permanent exhibit showcases representative pieces that trace the evolution of modern art while another portion can be seen at Nijenhuis Castle, 17km southeast. One cannot miss the surreal gold bird and silver sparkling snail-shaped slug of a cocoon that adorn the futuristic rooftop extension.
What an awesome experience. I can definitely recommend this Art Museum. There is a lot to see and if you keep walking up the stairs there is a little cafe where you can grab a coffee and relax. The town of Zwolle is also really nice so definitely a nice day trip no matter where in the Netherlands you are from

Great variation of works, with some gems. The remix concept gives every area a different theme. I enjoyed the spontaneity of discovering a nice piece of art in this way, instead of going from old to new.

Very nice museum with lovely staff. I love that you don't need a euro for the lockers because i so rarely carry cash and don't have to worry about where to put my winter coat! bathrooms on every floor is also great (and the soap smells good). Just wish the museum shop carried more items based on the exhibition :) thanks!

This museum was a great surprise for us. The building is awesome and the art was great. All kinds of art is exposed from classic to very modern. If you like art it is a great place to visit. I recommend it above many of the more visited Amsterdam museums.
Toilets very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Some amazing pieces and exhibition. I especially loved the Russian paintings and futuristic art
E P — Google review
A whole lot of space dedicated to a single artist, it took all of 30 minutes to see it all, mainly lots of variations of the same thing. the most interesting part of the museum was the circular roof of which there was not a single word about it's construction or materials used. Maybe there will be something to see later??
Joe kros — Google review
The first museum/gallery in the Netherlands we've visited which felt pompous and up it's own backside. My wife was told off before we'd even gone in for having a very small back pack - on the grounds it may knock the exhibits. I didn't see anything she could have bumped without swinging the damn thing round her head. I got told off for touching a metal shelf which I thought was simply holding up the fabric hanging on display. It stopped us enjoying the exhibition and we spent the rest of the visit thinking more about not going near stuff than actually looking at it. So we left.
Carl Young — Google review
Just too little pieces unfortunately. Cost 15euro to enter - well maintained and clean. It's a small city kind of museum so not fair also to compare to the likes of famous museums.

Really nice museum for a quick and inspiring visit. I’d strongly recommend that you start from the 4th floor taking the elevator at the lobby and then make your way down from the “Leiko Ikemura” expositions to the “ex- change proto” and finally to “Guillaume”.
I spent about an hour here and read almost all room descriptions. There are also guided tours, I believe those should be booked in advanced. The day that I went it was not crowded, but that was a bit unusual.
If you have the Museumkaart you can access for free.
Unfortunately the day that I was there the cafe was closed.

Great art! Worth a visit!
At the time we were there, the museum has only few rooms to offer because they were changing the exhibition (because of that we didn't have to pay for a ticket) . But we still had the chance to see some great artwork
I would visit again to see more!
Zwolle city is so clean, beautiful and new.
The only thing strange is that there are no taxis. So must take bus or cycle 🚲

Decent railway station, this is basically a hub for the northern provinces, all trains come by here which then gives you the opportunity to go to basically everywhere in the Netherlands. Can be a littel daunting at first but after a few visits you'll find your way around it easy.

Sprawling national park dense with lakes & waterways, as well as forested areas & lowland fens.
If you want to have a great experience, make sure to visit here when the weather is nice, and make sure to rent a boat! (At least for an hour)

We hired an electric boat, at a park called "the weerribben the Kluft" the boat can seat up to 7 people. It's electrical battery can boat you around for 6 hours or so. Lots of routes to choose from, and a lot of canals, rivers, lakes and open areas and many more to choose. Absolutely can recommended this. The price for the boat Is around €140,-. Additionally you can order a lunch package a day before for 30 euro per person. Didn't take this one, but it looked great from what I've seen.

It's a none regret decision to cycle around De Weerribben-Wieden National Park. We had a very good memory here in 2018. The View around the national park is amazing. There are less tourists so cycling here is very relax and comfortable. I think most tourists go to Giethoorn. It is an unique experience.

Museum with a parachute-shaped venue & exhibits on the liberation of the Netherlands in WWII.
An intense and emotional visit. As we were told during the introduction, truly a freedom and people museum before being a war museum. I learned a lot about the history of the region also, as a newcomer, it was even more interesting. Workers and volunteers did an amazing job with this place, highly recommended.

The Freedom Museum explains very well the causes, conflict and outcome of World War Two with a particular focus on Operation Market Garden.
The events of the Paratrooper landing and battles which ensued, as well as the civilian experience of war and resistance are very well exhibited. The array of items and audio visual experiences I saw are some of the best I've seen from a war museum. For only 8 euros as a student and a WW2 reader, it was money very well spent.
Special thanks to the Stagg and their expertise and passion for keeping the museum's message of liberation alive.

This place seems like a older museum. But nevertheless it's worth a visit. A lot of stuff describing how the Dutch was living during the German occupation during the Second World War. Also tell the unknown story (for some) about the rebuilding of the country.

Museum of Freedom: Groesbeek, Province of Gelderland, eastern Netherlands, Dingesdaeg, June 7, 2022.
Interesting space in an innovative housing construction. The main exhibition takes participants along a journey that commences just one year following the first International Peace Conference held at The Hague in 1899.
That international gathering took place at the invitation of Wilhelmina, Monarch of the Dutchlish, but was the brainchild of her second-cousin, Tzar Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia, in St Petersburg.
The Russia Tzar was alerted to the pending and imminent danger of mass annihilation by a Polish industrialist, by the name of Ivan Bloch, and who warned the Russian Tzar that the contemporary scientific innovations around the development of the machine-gun during the 1880s would lead to a situation whereby 'traditional' warfare (as it was known throughout the 1800s since the Irishman Arthur Wellesley defeated French Emperor Napoleon at Waterloo) would be no longer possible and instead could lead to a situation whereby warfare would become 'unwinnable', creating 'intractable stalemate'.
Queen Wilhelmina made 'Huis Ten Bosch' available for that (First) Hague Peace Conference in 1899. And, at that first ever international peace conference, it was decided to establish an international 'Permanent Court of Arbitration' and to build a special 'Peace Palace' for that precise purpose. Wilhelmina herself was present at the opening of the Peace Palace at The Hague in 1913.
Alas, events in Serbia the following year would trigger precisely that which the railroad magnate and Polish-born author, banker and railway financier Ivan Gotlib Bloch had already warned Tzar Nicholas about in 1899 in his acclaimed publication: 'Is War Now Impossible? (Vol. 1, 1899) and 'The future of war; in its technical, economic, and political relations.' (Vol. 2, 1899).
The museum exhibition takes participants on a journey throughout the twentieth century and the two World Wars that scarred it completely.
Specific focus is given to the particular role played by the southeastern Netherlands during the closing battles of the Second World War 1944/45, and the plight of the native, civilian population when the greatest armies to have ever assembled themselves met on opposite sides of the Great Rivers that divide the southern Netherlands' landscape in the autumn of 1944.

The Grizzly I Cruiser tank at the museum's parking lot was painted to resemble the Regimental HQ command tank of the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry – one of the three tank regiments in the British 8th Armoured Brigade, whose insignia was a red fox‘s mask on a yellow background. The yellow diamond stood for the Regimental Headquarters Squadron, while tanks in A Squadron were marked with a triangle, those in B Squadron with a square and C Squadron with a circle. The SRY was the first British unit to cross into German territory in September 1944 and its tanks played a vital role in the liberation of the Groesbeek area. However, they were not operating Canadian-built Grizzlies, but American-supplied 75 mm Shermans and Firefly conversions. Originally a Canadian Ram II OP tank, which had previously been serving as a gate guard at Amersfoort, was placed at the Sherwood Rangers Monument in Groesbeek. In 1988 it was swapped for a more appropriate Sherman from The Tank Museum in Bovington. This vehicle, which was at some point equipped with the late vision cupola, was one of the Grizzlies supplied to Portugal under NATO’s Mutual Defence Assistance Program (MDAP) in the early 1950s. When Portugal modernised their fleet in the 1980s, many of their tanks were sold to British museums and private collectors. In 2010 the Groesbeek Grizzly was briefly restored in Wakefield, UK.

Military museum that explains the story of WWII, with the heavy emphasis on Operation Market Garden because of the battle being fought in this area. Also there is an exhibit where you must solve who is the double agent. Because it is not a large museum, I wish there were more artifacts displayed.

This is a fantastic, interactive, liberation museum at Groesbeek that gives you an awesome experience to what happened at WW I and WW II during Operation Market Garden and Veritable.
To let people realize the Russian invasion in Ukraine, a damaged Russian tank and Ukranian ambulance with a shot window pane is placed just outside the entrance of the museum to express the impact of this unnecessary war.

The Palace of Het Loo in Apeldoorn is one of the most important national museums in the Netherlands. It has an excellent art collection, and there are guided tours of the royal apartments.
Beautiful gardens and well maintained palace with interesting audio tours. Yes the work is still ongoing to finish the front of the palace but still worth a visit. Don’t miss out on visiting the roof, especially on a beautiful day - the entrance is a bit hidden so I missed it the first time, had to ask for directions to find it.

Beautiful palace with beautifully restored interiors. The gardens are also breathtaking. Fully rated spoil grapes shop full of nonsense, where you can't even buy a postcard or a magnet with a palace. They don't even have any text or brochure here, just audio guides. The app could not be downloaded from the Play Store.

Download the app and audio tour before you go. Tour is great - informative while being entertaining and never boring. Really high quality.
Palace is great, with very helpful friendly and informative staff spread around and happy to answer questions.
Suggest allowing c1.5 hours for the Palace if doing the two sections of the audio tour, and a further 30 mins minimum for the gardens, or 1.5 hours if you intend to do the formal gardens and the orange route around the boating lake (all of which are well worth doing).
The new gallery space below the courtyard is amazing, with an interesting g exhibition about the project.

Beautiful and great looking palace. Inside there honestly isn’t really all that to do or look at but the few exhibitions and rooms you can check out are worth to check. It’s nice that they give you access to the rooftop as well which shows a beautiful view of the gardens and the surrounding area. I didn’t have time to visit the garden but if you’re there definitely visit the gardens as well, they look beautiful.

Beautiful castle, we went there for the "princess day" and it was very well organised. The gardens are beautiful. The castle itself is closed due to renovation and it will open somewhere next year so I'm looking forward to visiting again once it's fully open.

Very beautiful place. Brand new museum! 2 bar cafes restaurants with amazing lunch as well. A lot of facilities to visit and a great story to read. You need at least 3 hours to discover all the palace rooms and then at least 1 hour to walk through the gardens. There is a hike root as well so be prepared with hat, water and good shoes!

Really nice place! Lots to see! We went there just a bit before closing and ended up getting to the gardens right before they started to kick people out. If you end up with the same problem - go to the very end of the gardens first and then walk back - because they start moving people out in that direction.
Layout of the Palace was a little confusing we ended up missing one side of it but we also knew we needed to go to the gardens before they close.
Make sure you go to the rooftop! The views of the garden are maybe even better than what you would see down there.

Beautifully renovated Royal Palace in prime condition with amazing gardens in a huge park. Built by/for William III of William and Mary fame (the guy who conquered England in 1666).
The outside is Dutch Renaissance with French formal gardens and a more English park.
The inside is a wonderful collection of rooms in the Renaissance, Baroque, Empire and 1930s styles. Plus the lush new entrance in a very marbly 2020s style.
Catering is so-so. The 2 restaurants could not sell us a bottle of water for my thirsty kids. There is no vending machine, strangely.
Parking is easy and plentiful, but not cheap at 8 euros. Public transportation access is good from the Apeldoorn station.
Ventilation is disappointing. I measured up to 1,050 ppm on a reasonably busy day. Not good enough. It smells stuffy too, which cannot be good for the palace and its contents.
There are two good merchandise shops but nothing I could use in a modern styled home, apart from the obligatory fridge magnet. I think foreign visitors might love the shopping.
The broader Veluwe area is lovely and has amusement parks, forests, a hunting lodge, a Van Gogh museum and a monkey zoo.

A fantastic place to be! Even though the palace itself is still closed, but the park and garden are open. We joined the “prince and princes day”, which was just great! Kids just loved it. Very well organized!

I really enjoyed visiting this Palace Het Loo in Apeldoorn. With the museumkaart is free, though the parking is paid.
The palace is really big though visits are only allowed in part of it. The palace is really well conserved and preserved.
It has a huge garden super beautiful that you can see from the rooftop. You can also walk there and even go to the forest that is part of the visit. This forest is really worth the try so take your boots/sneakers. It has a huge and beautiful lake, statues and things like that.
You can spend an entire day over there, if you want. There is a cafe where you can buy some food / drinks.
For me, the best was the library. For those who like books, is difficult not to like it.

Having visited many outstanding palaces and gardens in the UK & Europe this is certainly in our top 5, the gardens are impressive and impeccably maintained.
The entrance to the palace via the underground atrium is spectacular, although the palace is sparsely furnished it doesn’t detract form it’s grandeur.
Andrew Holt — Google review
It is very nicely organised with several routes and tours to follow. The app that you can download can give you the tour as well. Written or spoken.
Beautiful Palace as expected ofcourse! Each room with a story of its own and all the little details present, will keep you busy for as long as you'd like.
Don't forget to look up!
The restaurant is decent enough with decent prices.
The reason why it only get 3 stars from me is this:
In the public Palace gardens in front of the Palace itself, the are some nice benches you can sit and relax. To bad there's a lot of trash laying around. This also has to do with the little amount of bins available.
Inside the Palace, it is so unbelievably busy, that (at least I did) the feeling of being rushed has a constant presence. People almost pushing themselves into the next room, not keeping in account that they are not the only once there. That really put down the experience it gave.
Dennis van Bommel — Google review
Former Palace of the Royal family of the Netherlands, now a museum. Has been renovated recently. It does showcase the palace in different "states"- you can see rooms as they were in the beginning of the monarchy but also some how they looked like just 70 years ago.
Tip: download the app beforehand and bring a headset
Also plan enough time for the garden (if the weather permits it).

Palais Het Loo is really beautiful. You can spend the whole day visiting it, with your friends and family members. You can start with the indoor part of the castle and then see the beautiful gardens. You can click beautiful photos and videos to keep them as memories or share them with your dear ones. You can have a drink or lunch in the restaurant of the castle. Can't wait to visit it again!

No description inside (I liked that, but my boyfriend didn’t) although you can buy map, download an app with audio-tour or rent device to listen to. At the cafe inside we were waiting for 10-15 minutes and no one showed up so we left. There’s places to buy different kinds of things like postcard, vases and art.

Fabulous combination between new and old architecture! watching the play of light with the water of the fountain from below is fascinating. the finest materials in the new building but by no means ostentatious. magnificent view from the roof of the palace. wonderful gardens. in the rearmost part of the site you can relax wonderfully by the lake.
Michael Heumann — Google review
a non-pretentious baroque castle, only the dutch could accomplish that. inside still pretty fancy rooms of course. also the baroque lower and upper garden. at the end there also is an entrance/ exit to the castle forest, closes at 16.30! It is in general a pity, that the castle already closed at 17.00, since a lot of nice hours could be spend in the garden in summer evenings

Koninklijk Park 16, 7315 JA Apeldoorn, Netherlands
The John Frost Bridge, located in Arnhem, is a famous bridge that was rebuilt in 1948 and named after Major-General Frost. It played a crucial role in the Battle of Arnhem during World War II when British forces defended it against the Germans. The Allied Forces attempted to reclaim the bridge but were unsuccessful, making it known as "A Bridge Too Far." Nowadays, visitors can walk or cycle across the bridge and stand where history was made.
A critical site of WWII history! Arnhem Bridge, now called the John Frost Bridge. The original was built in 1935; blown up by the Dutch in May 1940; rebuilt by the Germans in 1942; damaged by American bombers in Oct ‘44; blown JPB y the Nazis in Feb 1945; rebuilt and opened in 1950. Watch out for mopeds on the sidewalk. LTC John Frost commanded 2d para. He and his men approached the bridge along he lower road, close to the river Neder Rijn. In the movie “A Bridge too Far” Anthony Hopkins plays Frost. Frost was a POW and rose to the rank of Major General.

If you like military history or have ever seen the film "a bridge too far" then this is one of the locations to visit to see living history in action. However be aware that this bridge was destroyed by american bombers after the failed attempt to capture it, although it was later rebuild to the same standard.

It's a bridge.. it is THE bridge of the 2nd WW, but still, just a bridge.
Cycling over it in the morning or afternoon you get an enormous amount of smog on the bridge due to the heavy traffic. Other than that, no real downsides.

The best way to visit the John Frostbridge is while taking a guided tour with the ArnhemLife company. The expert tour guides will be able to tell you the story of the Battle of Arnhem in september 1944.

Inspired by ‘A Bridge Too Far’, it was my childhood dream to visit these key objectives in Operation Market Garden. Famous for being the biggest allied airborne operation in WW2, it is also infamous for being the biggest failure in allied military history.
Lest we forget.

Wonderful site to visit for anyone interested in World War II history or that is a fan of the movie "A Bridge Too Far." The Arnhem bridge was the bridge the Allies fell short of taking in Operation Market Garden in September 1944. The current bridge was named in honor of the British Lt. Colonel John Frost of the British 1st Airborne Division who led a small force of 740 men in a valiant attempt to take the bridge. German forces at the bridge proved much stronger than expected and American and British reinforcements were delayed by unexpected German resistance on the road to Arnhem. After four days of fighting, the British force at the bridge was overrun. The movie was not filmed here at the bridge because the buildings had changed so much in the ensuing years that the location no longer resembled its appearance in 1944. The bridge in the film is located at Deventer several miles away. A great site to visit for the history buff!
Bill Delperdange — Google review
The original John Frost bridge is well worth a visit if you are interrested in Market Garden. "A bridge to far" was not filmed here but rather in Deventer, 35 km from Arnhem, on the with Wilhelmina bridge.

The bridge is a reminder of a very sad episode of world war 2 and the sacrifices made to liberate Europe from Nazi rule.
A lesson from the past that we need to wake up to so it does not happen again.

Great piece of history and well worth the visit, you get a real sense of what went on in this place, way back on the 17'th September 1944. There is a good museum that is free to enter and very informative, with a small display and good loos. Definitely worth a visit if you in to your WWII history as it is a beautiful place to visit even if it's a stroll down the river to check out the local bars. Please give me a like for the review many thanks Marcus 😃

Explore on site what happened here late September 1944 when Montgomery’s troops were marching rapidly north through Holland, taking one after another vital river crossings on their way towards the hearth of the Third Reich, and then found this a bridge too far : now called the John Frost Bridge after the commander of the Battalion that held it for a night but then lost to see Hitler’s Germany win its last battle of 2nd World War. Philosophise with the ladies keeping the memorial center at the river embankment on how different Europe might have looked had it gone the other way.

Nijmeegseweg, Arnhem, Netherlands
I'll never travel to Amsterdam without this trip planner again
The Netherlands Open Air Museum features traditional Dutch buildings and transport exhibits with costume guides. Visitors can spend one night in Arnhem and choose between the Airborne Museum and the Open Air Museum.
Amazing place to visit, especially when the weather is good. A lot of old houses form Netherlands collected in one place, perfect to learn about Dutch history. Very kids friendly, with dedicated paly ground and tram line around the whole park. Located on the outskirts of Arnhem on the hills and surrounded by woods. Kind of a must-see in Netherlands.

This wonderful open air museum is a fascinating experience to be enjoyed. Be sure to start your trip with a ride on the tram so that you have an idea of what the museum has to offer. Each tram stop beings you to a different themed village. It is astonishing to see how the Netherlands have evolved over time and the way we live. There is so much detail given to the history of the buildings and the actors also help to enhance the overall experience. We unfortunately went on a very wet day so we did not see everything there was to offer. The facilities are great and clean. There are ramps for those in wheelchairs. There is a lovely gift shop at the entrance information centre.

Very nice museum, really interesting and diverse collection. Loved that there are actors who recreate what life used to look like. I found them to be very friendly and open for questions. Sadly a lot of the information was only available in Dutch, so something to keep in mind. But even so, very interesting.

There is a lot to see here, with many facilities and is an excellent place for families. The tram route is also handy if you need it. Well worth a visit.
I have removed a star, as paying €8 for parking on top of €22 tickets per adult is daylight robbery

A nice way to get in touch with Dutch culture and look into the past. The museum is huge and you can spend the whole day there and still not have enough time see everything. It's a wonderful place for people of all ages and it is also pet friendly.

It didn't expect it to be so large and so rich of contents. From what I've seen from google, it seems like a fun destination. A destination where a family can enjoy together. Yes it is. But, it's much more than that. It basically tells you how Dutch people lived in the past, both the beauty and the ugliness. The sites are rather simple, but they tell the story well.
Me and my wife always walk slowly in a museum to understand what is the story and what are the interesting facts. We always walk with google in our hand to understand the context. For this particular museum, it's exhausting and time consuming to do so since it's so large. So, go twice or thrice!

Awesome place to learn more about the Netherland, the history, culture and tradition, or just to stroll around enjoying the beautiful scenery. A brief and detailed glimpse to the history of the Dutch people. This place has all the real 1:1 replicas of the houses, people lived in. Farmhouses, cheese factory, blacksmith and more. There are also live demos of actors which help to demonstrate the lifestyle that was back then.
The place also has a small train which circles the whole park, and stops on each interest point, the children loved it. We spent here half a day, some people spend here almost the entire day, depends on the ages of the children. There is also a children’s place where the can run and climb, in front of it you can find a small restaurant which offers soups, beer, wine and more

It's huge. One day is not enough to experience it all.
Tip: Make use of the train after experiencing each section to save on energy. Pick a few interesting parts within each section if you want to see it all in one day
Tip 2: There are a lot of family oriented activities such as back to past dress-up photography. I enjoyed that.
Tip 3: It's not busy at entry but I always find it handy to buy tickets online.
Tip 4: Wear comfortable footwear. You will walk a lot. Adds to the fun though.
The park Sonsbeek is a large and expansive green space with a mansion from the 18th century, fountains, and a water mill. It's also home to a tea house.
Huge and a very natural park. Gets a little windy because there is some height compared to the city.

Apenheul, a Dutch animal park located in Apeldoorn, offers visitors the opportunity to observe over 200 primates freely roaming around. In addition to the main attraction of observing these creatures up close, Apenheul also features a treetop trail and a nocturnal monkey house. For those looking to make the most out of their visit, combining Apenheul with a trip to Palace Het Loo provides a full day's worth of activities.
Amazing place, not only for kids but for adults too! You are really close to the monkeys and you see them jumping around the park. Before entering, you are advised to put your belongings inside a closed bag (they are free and with different sizes). You can walk around the whole park without any problem and there are services inside (restaurants, toilet, etc.)

Amazing all day experience. Very big park, most monkeys walking freely. The gorilla show is a must! Only downside is the limited eating facilities, besides krokets and hot dogs there is only fries if you get hungry even though it is really an all-day activity

Apenheul is an insane place, we were two adults and had lots of fun! Lots of monkeys close to you! Some practicalities
- Lockers need a 1€ coin, make sure to have one with you (The coin is returned at the end)
- Parking has to be paid with card and the maximum is €9.30 a day
- Even if you go with a backpack they will make you put your stuff in the park’s official bags (no charge)
- We walked without a rush and the total time spent in the park (including Gorilla feeding presentation) was 3 hours
- All paths in the park are possible for wheelchairs / trolleys 👌🏻
- There are services 🚾 in different points of the park so you can drink lots of water without that being an issue
- We went with a bag with water, chips, sandwiches and since everything is so flat, carrying is not so bad 🧊
- We went from Amsterdam, going by public transportation was (roughly) 19€ per person each way so it was definitely worth to rent a car (in the end, payed like 75€ for mywheels)
It’s a beautiful experience, recommended for everyone!

There is a lot of walking, but the children have an incredible joy to see the monkeys so close. In the center of the zoo there is also a huge playground for children, where you can easily spend an extra hour. The best way to see many species of monkeys, which have been created in conditions close to natural. A place worth spending every euro.

If you arrive early (from 10 a.m to 2 p.m) the monkeys do absolutely nothing but sleep and chill. Food, drinks and souvenirs are very expensive. And a lot of the fun parts are closed for some reason.

Lovely park in a beautiful forest setting. The drive there is lovely as well, don't take the highway, take the N-numbered-routes! In the park many areas where monkeys just walk among the people. Don't need to plan for a whole day, doable in about 4 hours (cheaper tickets from 2:00pm available).

Visited as an adult couple while on holiday. All the signs are in Dutch, German and English, and the staff were happy to help when our Google translating wasn't good enough to make an educated guess. Despite the drizzle, there were plenty of species pottering about under the trees, with no evidence that they had been forced outside (and plenty of other species that had sensibly taken themselves inside to gaze out the windows at the rain!). Got close to quite a few different species, in particular the squirrel monkeys, red howler monkeys and Barbary macaques, but all the animals we saw seemed well adjusted to captive life and not afraid of doing their own thing close to visitors. Gorilla show is only in Dutch, but this is noted on signs, and would have been fine if the silverback hasn't come out, taken a bite of chicory and then decided that the offering was not outweighing the rain and scarpered sedately off! Can't blame him! Humans had jackets and were sitting under a canopy in the dry, after all!

A great day out for all the family. Walk around the well marked route ( good access for wheelchair and people with walking disabilities), and mingle with the many free running monkeys (more than 30 different types to find). Make sure you find the time to visit the three shows ( all in Dutch, but the staff speak English and are willing to answer any questions). Unfortunately we found the food on offer at the restaurant! to be very expensive and not very nice ( when we visit again, we will take our own food with) large parking area, cost between €10 and €11. (bus stop on main road near to parking area)Approx 10 minutes walk from carpark to the entrance.

Looks well-maintained and exciting for kids. It takes about 10 minutes of walking from the parking lot to Apenheul's entrance. You walk through a beautiful park. Apenheul itself was busy, but less busy than I expected during summer holidays. There are lots of species and the animals seem to be doing OK from uneducated eyes, like mine. The prices for food there are spicy and there are not a lot of options. In hindsight I would have brought food from home. Take a light backpack because you need to wear it facing the front.

I'm not a big fan of zoos, I was here with my team from work and I had little investment in the process of deciding a destination.
Although this looks much better maintained than a lot zoos I remember, I can't imagine this being in favor of the animals.
The different themed areas are nicely designed and there's a lot spaces to keep children busy, which is great because you rarely hear kids screaming.
Of course the shops and restaurants are expensive and sell the usual shirts, key chains, plates, you name it.
In contrast to Germany, you can pay everything anywhere with card or mobile. Love that.

The chimpansee and gorilla enclosures are also impressive. Enough restaurants. The food/souvenirs were expensive. The ticket price is fitting for such a nice zoo. The pathways are also very accessible for strollers. Very accessible for toddlers all around. This Zoo has perfected being a Zoo.

Very big zoo, with a large range of animals. There's also three playgrounds, one of which is indoors.
The animals seem well cared for and their cages are not too small.
The layout is a bit confusing and a few more sanitary stations could be added. There's a musical now, and the logo on the plan obscures a few paths. I would recommend using the plan from their website, as it doesn't feature the stupid ad and you can actually see _all_ the paths.
Admission price is very steep. On top of that, €8 for parking seems very excessive. But hey, judging by the amount of people there on a rainy day, they can get away with it.

This zoo is a personal favorite due to its diverse animals and realistic ecosystems. From deserts to tropical bushes, the experience is immersive. Animals are well cared for, and the zoo offers ample facilities. Visit early till closing for a comfortable, day-long exploration. Online tickets are recommended to avoid short weekend lines as well as to avail some nice online discounts. Should you plan to visit regularly, an annual pass is a must.

Probably the most beautiful zoo I've ever been to!
I'm not really interested in the Safari-type sections of zoos but every other section we went round multiple times as they were incredible
Love the theming of zones and the enclosure design

It's a beautiful zoo especially like this Sunday when it was raining most part of the day. De jungle(Bush) is great fun to do with you children. The aquariums are gorgeous. Furthermore there is a huge variety in places where to eat with each having there own theme. The prices are high that is true but we'll spend.

Incredibly gorgeous place, they don't just have amazing animals but the park itself is also amazing to walk through without even looking to the animals. But the animals are amazing too, such a variety! Make sure to be early because we got lucky to see nearly all animals because they were feeding them.

An amazing Zoo to visit with kids. There are many restaurants and kids playgrounds.
The ocean (aquarium) is breath taking, huge and has a variety of sea animals.
The concept of different environments is a real interesting experience.
You can easily spend 5 hours here if you have kids!

Well maintained zoo.. lots of species in zoo and taken care very well. Mangrove is very good to hop around for butterflies within its Evo system. Lot of greenery around and oceans section is also one of the highlight..

A lovely zoo for all ages. The zoo is divided into several different zones which are very nicely dressed accordingly. What I personally likes a lot was the safari restaurant which was spacious and had a lovely view over the safari enclosure. Here, you could grab a snack or drink while watching safari animals like giraffe's and zebras. The prices for the food here are quite on the high-end in my opinion though. Another touch I liked where the small "offroad" trails in the bush area which gave me a real exploring feeling.

We really enjoyed our visit at Burgers' Zoo. The park has a lot of area's (Ocean, Bush, Mangrove, Desert etc) where you can wander around. You can clearly see a lot of love went into creating and maintaining these areas. Food at the restaurants is a bit on the expensive side so you might want to consider bringing your own.

Still, I think, the best Zoo in The Netherlands. Explored it and was again amazed by the Ocean, Safari, Dessert etc. Enough parking, no waiting at entrance (our luck) at plenty of restaurants to have a rest. Burgers' Zoo, after 30 years since my last visit, still on no. 1

Such a wonderful place for these beautiful animals. The zoo is not only well maintained but the residents here are looking like they enjoy their life so much. Let alone the bush and the dessert area. Infinite fun 🤩
Y Han — Google review
This is one of the best zoos in the Netherlands. I have visited this zoo several times, and it is always an adventure. You can easily spend a day here.
The zoo covers diverse habitats such as deserts, savannas, and oceans. You'll find lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, tigers, and countless bird species, representing a wide range of big and small animals. In a thoughtful manner, the zoo educates the public about how human actions are disrupting the habitats of these animals, plants, and our planet in general. I particularly enjoy the ocean section, where you can observe and learn about various sea animals and plants. It is also highly educational for kids. The animals are well treated, though it's important to note that, being a zoo, they are kept without their will.
There are numerous playgrounds for kids. While the zoo offers several restaurants, they tend to be overpriced and not the best in terms of quality. Be sure to prepare yourself well for a long and adventurous day.

Top day out!!! A zoo with different themes and play areas.
Easy to walk around, not too big and plenty of restaurants and a picnic area overlooking the giraffes!

The zoo is amazing! It is the best place to spend the day with kids! There are playgrounds, an aquarium, many wonderful pavilions with a variety of plants and animals. Many of the animals can be seen up close, and they are in a large area, not at all like cages, which does not make me sad. The menu of the restaurants is a disappointment, I think it could be much more varied and healthy. Otherwise everything is marvellous!

Best zoo I've ever been to. Most animals have enough space, live in similar habitats as they do in the wild. The biomes flow into eachother.
Kaas Kop — Google review
They have an amazing inside area, so even on rainy days its a great visit. If you buy the yearly subscription, you can go in without any effort however many times you want, great for regular walks too! With family, alone, doesn't matter, this zoo is for everyone. Just be polite to the animals and respect the staff members. They do amazing work for this zoo. If there is any place I would like to see improved its the dessert area, the dessert area is the most unpopular area, mainly because there aren't as many animals to see like the Bush, Ocean or Mangrove. They are around you in the dessert but not really, I'd love to see more unique dessert animals that work well with visitors walking through. For example reptiles, but of course this wouldn't work well if you have a Lynx and Warthogs there. So I get their choices, but I think the dessert area could definitely use a revamp. Other than that the rest of the zoo is amazing. There is also a bird area in the back which could use some more love. My 2nd favorite zoo in the netherlands!

Julianatoren Apeldoorn is a seasonal theme park located on the western outskirts of Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Geared towards children under 12, it offers over 60 rides and attractions including a Ferris wheel and several rollercoasters. The park is designed to be super child-friendly with almost every ride suitable for small kids. It features mouse and dino-themed entertainment aimed at children aged 2-10 years old.
Perfect place to go with small kids when you are close-by in the Netherlands. There are rides for kids of every age. We went with our kids who are 3 and 5 at around 11 a.m and had non stop fun until the evening. There is ample parking space and they charge 10€ per car. Parking is a bit far away from the entrance but there is a shuttle bus between the entrance and the parking which is really a nice gesture. Will plan to visit again!!
Radhakrishna Chivukula — Google review
Great "entertainment park" for smaller children (ours are 4 and 6) They also managed to get a lot of attractions on a rather small space, what means not so much walking with small children.
We had short to no waiting lines.
There are also good indicators with what hight children can go alone, accompanied or not at all. However I have think those need to be remeasured by the park.
In the back is a big picknik area under the trees where you can have your own food. There are also enough places to get food, and not only the standard fries and chicken nuggets.
There are enough toilets and they were clean and big. I was able to get in comfortably with both children without feeling cramped.
With a wheelchair it could be, on some path, a bit more challenging.

Fun kids amusement park Based on the characters Jul and Julia, Miss cotton candy and Mr. cheese slicer.
We had a corporate retreat here, that I spoke at - Really fun time and a very cool place that's kind of innovative to hold a conference.
The rides look fun and it's appropriate for kids of all ages (Things were shut down for the conference but I managed to pick up some stuffed animals for my nieces and nephews) ☺️

I came here on autumn vacation. Alot of ppl here. It was fun for 3-5 years old I think. But for me it was not that fun. I love the showtime it was fun. The rest was just normal. Not that fun, not bad either. If you have kids around 3-5 years old, this place can be one of your list 😉
Elsha Panjaitan — Google review
A small park with lots of attractions. We come during the Easter holidays it is just mega crowded, every single attraction you will queue for 20-30min with young kids, food stand seems understaffed too, even bathrooms are having long queues too. I can imagine a “regular day” would be much nicer to enjoy with kids here, but consider other options during school holidays.
Yajing — Google review
Perfect day for kids younger than 6. Theres a wealth of rides and attractions for them to partake and the lines are not long. We were with a 4 year old and we tried most of the rides and he enjoyed all. Better suited for his age than Efteling. Note, parking costs 10 euro and is paid on location not via internet. Worth purchasing tickets on’ine in advance, the line is shorter that way.

My kids live this place and during this visit I was pleasantly surprised by a few new rides and some updates from the last time we were here.
My kids ages (2 to 7) had a great time and loved all the shows. The staff was super friendly and it was a great day.
We also ate lunch here and it was good for the price. It was snack at food but wasn’t over priced.

Great experience for our family, two daughters aged 3 and 6, we spent a lovely day, not a huge place which is an advantage as not endlessly walking, but many activities (we didn’t do all).
Prices for food and drink on the dear side + unexpected 10 Euros for parking at the end.
But overall, very recommended for families with young kids! Especially as the activities are suited for their heights…
Yoav B — Google review
Nice and clean park. Attractions were well serviced but some of the themed rides showed their age. Also some attractions should not let grown ups ride on them. The helicopters for example were very small and the operator seemed a bit aggitated of all the parents that went on the ride. Operators in overall were a bit unfriendly and seemed uninterested.
Kevin Desloovere — Google review
Mouse and (strangely) dino themed entertainment park aimed at children 2-10 years old. The park’s footprint is relatively small and feels crowded quite quickly, but you can (temporarily) escape this at the back of the park, where there is a picknick area with a giant bounce pad and solar beds. The park gives a significant early bird discount if you buy your tickets online two weeks in advance. Dogs are allowed outside of the rides and restaurants, luckily the park has many large terraces. You can easily spend the entire day here.
Mathis vK — Google review
We don’t have children but we really like theme park personally. This park is not too big but not that small either. The ambiance is super nice, it’s so satisfying us to see some excitement of children when they get into an attraction. We will come back and bring our two nephews to play here. Really recommended for young children.

Nice park to go for the younger kids. For adults there is not really much to do but seeing your kids being happy is always good. The theming could also use some work. But it's nice that there are so much things to do, so close to each other.

The best theme park for young kids, you never need to walk far or wait long for the next attraction! Good shows and things like bumper cars are completely free unlike in other parks. Also free pictures with Jul and Julia (the main characters from the park).

Very good little museum on the history of this former island. Great exhibition on how the island formed, from the Late Saalien to the formation of the Zuiderzee, and of how very hard life was on the island until the population was displaced.
Only thing missing was a little bit more information on how the Zuiderzee came to be.

This is a fascinating little museum of a coastal community now on a little hill in the middle of a field. For anyone who is amazed at the ability of the Dutch to reclaim land from the sea, this place is a must see as living evidence of what has been achieved. The great food and service at the restaurant is a reason to come here even if you are not interested in the museum!

Panorama Restaurant De Blaauwe Kamer is located around 4km away from Wageningen city center, offering a perfect location with a nice view and delicious lunch. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make it feel like being on vacation. Additionally, the restaurant has a walking route behind it with an amazing view, providing a great opportunity to enjoy nature. Guests have also noted the unique experience of having food served by robot helpers, adding an interesting touch to the dining experience.
Had a very nice evening. Food is served by a cat robot. He brings it to the table and the waiter hands it to you personally. I like that very much. The waiter is super friendly. Food was good, but not a lot. This is to limit waste. Which I find great.

I have reserved the place with my name. However, when I was asked about the details of my reservation, I felt humiliated because the guys can just pronounce the last name. He just tried to do it with my first name although I showed him my reservation by email. It was pretty rude just because I am a non-blonde among the blondies.

Mostly very friendly staff and fast service. Depending on where you find (or reserve) a seat the views are pretty grand. Easily reachable by car, bike or on food. At the moment of writing (August 2022) the waiter robots to use to serve food are somewhat of a novelty/curiosity and interesting to see. Overall, definitely recommended! Four stars because one of the waiters doubted whether our €20 bill was genuine, which struck me as very odd.

After several pleasant experiences to this restaurant I've had to edit my review to an unsatisfying visit.
We've made reservations for 6 + 1 child at 1730 on a Saturday. Arrived in an almost empty restaurant, so we were one of the first to order. But that didn't help much. It took over an hour for appetizers (bread) to arrive and 2 hours for the main courses. Only to find out the meals weren't freshly cooked (fries, schnitzel and fish tested like they've been sitting under a lamp for at least half an hour).
I'm the same time our kid's bedtime had already passed for some time.
Our waiter had his 5th working day and was not yet prepared to be working without supervision.
Not going back on a Saturday.

The setting is lovely, the staff extremely friendly. We had a hightea, table was nicely set upon arrival... Quantity was more than enough... However, the price/quality is NOT in proportion. Which gives me the feeling that I've been robbed. Sorry to say.
Very fun place for kids! It is quite big, with outside and inside playgrounds. There are multiple areas and lots of table options located in different halls/rooms, so you can be closest to the playground most appropriate for the age of the child.
We loved the QR ordering system! So convenient, just scan a QR code at yoir table, order and pay on your phone and food and drinks get delivered to you table! Very easy. You can also order at one of the two bars as well, so no problem if you don't have a smart phone.
Kids enter free after 5pm at the moment, if you are just popping in for some food. And the place closes at 7pm.
Food was fine. Nothing too special, but my husband did enjoyed his spare ribs and the menu is pretty big with snacking options. I had fish and chips, our child had a boiled sausage, which we preferred much more to the deep fried ones. Plenty of drink options, including wine and beer. :)
Everyone who works here is friendly and approachable.
We enjoyed our evening stop and definitely recommend this place to other families with children. Kids can be entertained here for hours. There is even an arts and crafts room, which we saw, but it closes at 5pm.
Fun place! We will be back.

Of all the different play areas in the Netherlands (monkey town,Avontura, etc) this is one of the best. There is a small water area but I would call to see if it’s open, don’t just assume. It’s got a huge soft play area inside and lots of room outside too. The downside with these kinds of things is the menu and the personnel. The children’s menu is what you see everywhere, white bread, processed meat by-products, no fibres, sugar and cheese. The personnel is very young which keeps the company costs down but some of them are absolutely clueless, no manners, having said that they have to start somewhere. Overall still 4/5 stars because my daughter was happy here and it’s got plenty to offer for kids.

The place is very fun for children, lots of options for safe play, so a good opportunity for parents to relax. Also, there are plenty of options for food and drinks, reasonably priced.
The only thing is that every time we went it was quite crowded and loud, even on week days. So if you're thinking you can work while your kid plays, it may not be ideal.
Ouwehands Zoo, located in Rhenen, is a renowned establishment known for its diverse range of animals and naturalistic habitats. One of its main attractions is the presence of giant pandas, making it the only zoo in the Netherlands where these creatures can be found. The zoo offers a relaxing atmosphere with ample space for both animals and visitors. It's particularly suitable for families with children, as there are various play areas available.
Great zoo with a lot of attractions and activities for the kids. Big enough, nicely planned, visually rich. I personally did not like fences here and there, but on the other hand animals get a lot of space. In three hours we just walked through, even skipped some animals. So plan accordingly, the zoo is really big!

The restaurants get busier and there are not much options to eat if you are a vegetarian 🥗

We haven't yet been to the zoo as an ordinary zoo, we went to their night time experience run from the end of November until early January. Really quite magical and not a Christmas tree or Santa Claus in sight!

The day I went to Museum Jan Cunen there were two different exhbitions: "Naakt of Bloot", which showed differences and similarities in nude art from the late 19th century and in the present day, and "Bagger", which was an exhibition on archeological findings in the area, mainly dated from around the Roman Era and discovered by amateur archeologists.
Both were interesting to watch, walk through and read, but in both cases too little information was given to get the most out of either exhibit without being already quite familiar with the subject at hand.
However, I'm quite interested to see what other exhibitions they will curate this year.

Perfect maintained nature park. Spacious, lot's to see and discover. Cool walks under large trees. Clean park, romantic and educational. Protected parking.

Be aware that the Bison path is closed due to safely reasons. If your main purpose to go to the park is for seeing special animals such as moose, of course it's not always easy to spot animals in the nature.
We only saw a group of father David deer from a distance, boars and an otter.

Great park for a walk or run. Some animals can be seen. There is a WC (no fee) in the administration building, also a cafe and a small shop. Parking is 3 euro for the entire day. Some of the paths in the park are forbidden for dogs, as you can get very close to the animals and might be dangerous.

Nice place to visit and make your day beautiful with girlfriend and friends. Tip: the animals are most active in the early morning and after if you are lucky or they are still willing to move not rest in bushes.

What a beautiful and clean outdoor mall/ fashion outlet. Walking distance to the ship. A travel highlight for my spouse. All the apparel and shoe choices you could want, and much more. We were not hungry but there were some interesting choices and some that looked a bit more local and were busy, so I imagine they were good eating.

This is not a very big outlet but there is sufficient variety of goods, interesting and well known branded products which are not out-dated. You should be able to get something you like at bargain prices. There are also decent eateries to get a bite to eat or take a rest.

for tourists it’s a very fun and nice experience, but if you live in the netherlands and already have been to these kind of outlets it’s not very special. All the outlets are kind of the same. Next time i will go to the West Field Malls. It seems more fun although it’s not an outlet its a shopping mall. Nike outlet store is very nice and the prices are perfect. If you just come here for a day to shop it will be great!

Also there are enough cafes and food trucks to find sth to eat.

Had a nice trip to Batavia outlets in lelystad where many branded shops are located and offering some nice discounts. Quite many offers and need to find what you are looking for at good prices. Place worth visiting once in a while especially if you are coming from far away locations in Netherlands.
Khurram Shehzad — Google review
Had a wonderful experience of shopping in here. It is very close to car parking and have almost all the public amenities. You will find a bench to sit & relax too.
Pj Dhaliwal — Google review
This used to be a great place to get a few good bargains, but now it is pretty much just as expensive as buying from normal sales at regular stores. Most shops barely have 'real' specials - discounts appear to be based on the "Recommended Retail Price" as opposed to the actual high street price...so if you're going to make a special trip prepare to be disappointed...
Batavialand is an interactive museum in Lelystad, the capital of Flevoland, showcasing the history and culture of the Netherlands. The museum features exhibits on shipbuilding, water management, and archaeological artifacts tracing Flevoland's long history of land reclamation. Families can enjoy hands-on activities at the Nieuwland Poldermuseum, while visitors can explore a modern museum with varied exhibitions outside the city center.
There is no possible to order the ticket if you have museum card. You can visit the museum and obtain the free pass for museum. The staff are helpful in directing to exhibits. The ticket covers the visit to ship yard as well.

Interactive museum for the whole family. In the museum, you can also buy the ticket for the shipyard next door and the ship Batavia directly on the Markermeer. For the children, there is a lot to try out and learn about in the museum in connection with the water. Unfortunately most of the information is only in Dutch. Admission for adults costs 16 euros, for children 8.50 euros. There was a bit of a signpost missing in the museum, so you feel a bit lost after paying at the checkout. The highlight of the visit was the sailing ship Batavia, which can be walked on. Unfortunately, several craftsmen were on the ship and working there during our visit. This meant that you were somewhat restricted when entering the premises. You could display a little more detail on the ship like barrels, chests, sacks or items of clothing, that would make it a little more authentic. Nevertheless, the visit was very interesting for young and old. If you wish, you can book a scavenger hunt in the museum, but we didn't take advantage of this. A worthwhile visit.

Sehr interessantes Museum.

Very interesting museum. Children don't miss out here either. The kids had fun knocking nails in and weaving a rope. But there was also a lot to see and try out in the second building. Unfortunately only in Dutch. Regardless, it was still great. But the highlight was the Batavia itself! The staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, it is not possible to purchase tickets with cash, either via credit card or online.

Combination of a museum - dedicated to the history of Flevoland in general and Lelystad in particular and a wharf - dedicated to the art and craft of wooden ship building.
A visit inside the life-size replica of the famed Batavia ship is the highlight. Museum cards are accepted, or else ticketed entry is possible.

The Zuiderzeemuseum is a museum showcasing the sea-based economy, ships and ways of life in the area. It consists of two sections, an indoor Binnenmuseum dedicated to farming, fishing and shipping, and an outdoor Buitenmuseum with over 130 rebuilt dwellings and workshops. Visitors are encouraged to park at a designated car park off the N302 and take a ferry (included in admission) every 15 minutes from April to October to get to the museum.
Enjoyed a great day here! Caught the ferry first and then dropped us off at the outdoor museum. Everything is well sign posted in English, Dutch and German. Lots of fun things to do and the cafe was great. Great way to learn about the history of the region.

Is a very nice place, just like jump into 100 years ago fish village. The indoor museum is full of knowledge about this area and the outdoor museum just amazing. I spent 4 hours there and didn’t finish it just too big. But the traditional lunch set they sell on the website is 2 sandwiches and 1 bread with 1 banana and 1 apple juice, quantity and quaility is nice but I recommend just buy food when you arrive the restaurant

A fantastic huge museum. The indoor part has an audio guide and is very well made. Tells you stuff about fishing villages and how the sea became a lake, a lot of stuff for kids too. The outdoor part is a huge village, might need two days to actually cover it!

Very nice museum, this one is a full day experience, we arrived 11 and left by closing at 17 and we did not have time for the indoor museum , feelt expensive at 18 e online price but was so very well spent ,
pro tip , to save 7euro on parking google for "p+r einhuizen" it is along the station (ignore all roadsigns for museum ) , here you park free for 24 hours , ample with free spaces when we visited , just head down to station building and you see signs for the ferry across the road , the tourist office has ticket ( you need to buy before the boat ) if you did not get them online , ferry was every 20" and is the same as from the pay parking. 5 min walk from car to ferry

Started in the indoor museum where there is a lot to see. The main part of the museum on the upper floor takes you round in a circle. Go to the right to start!
A better part of the museum, presuming good weather, is the outside part further along the road. Lots of dwellings/buildings, like a small town, with descriptions. There are a couple of cafés to stop for coffee/lunch.
You can either walk to the museum or take the ferry back to Enkhuisen, near the railway station.
Tickets in advance (online) are €18/person.

There are inside and outside parts combined into one museum called Zuiderzeemuseum. I found it nice and informative. They both explain more the history of the area including how the lives were like in the past. The ticket price is for both and if you have a museumkaart, it is valid for the museum.

Came there assuming that we went into a museum inside but we're happily surprised that we went on a ferry to an outside little town. It was like going back in time, like the 1900ths.
We were there on the hottest day of the year, 36 degrees Celsius and almost everybody went to the beach 🏖️. So it was nice and quit. I won't tell you too much cause that will spoil your experience 😎 nice people and excellent presentations. We had an perfect day👍🏻😊

Great experience, well arranged, entertaining and informative!
Experience going back in time and seeing how the Dutch life looked like. Have a peek inside the houses, look at the different workshops and "meet" the people.
Parking is available (7eur p/day), you can take a free ferry to the museum. Roam around the town, expect to spend approx 3 hours if you take the time to read and engage.
Pros
- Everything is well arranged
- plenty of parking
- multiple languages for int guests
- easy to explore
Notes
- best experienced on a good day
- dress for wind
- walk from museum to NS is more likely to be 20min (instead of the 10min indicated), but well worth it.
- Enkhuizen city is nice to explore

I love reconstructed villages - they offer inside people lived years ago that you can't gain through reading or museum exhibits. This museum was on par with the swedish Skansa in the care taking together houses from the area and bringing them together and putting them in a realistic environment. The people who play roles in the museum are dedicated and fantastic at what they do. This was a great experience particularly when combined with the train/ship from Hoorn.

As someone who loves family history (and is of Dutch descent), this museum was super informative for all of my questions regarding life in the past, especially for the Dutch because that's where many of my ancestors are from. A really nice museum in the north of the Netherlands. Try to choose a sunny day. Keep in mind that the museum has 2 sections; an outside and an inside part. Make sure you visit the outside because it is beautiful. You will find boats, fishing nets, artifacts for sailing, windmills and two chimneys. There is even a blacksmith shop which is very nostalgic. Also, there is an old school. Yeah, literally an old school where you will find blackboards, benches, and many other cools stuff that would take you back to 50-60 years ago. The whole city of Enkhuizen is gorgeous with its harbors. After your museum visit, you can lounge at terraces and enjoy your time. Definitely recommend.

Sprookjeswonderland is an amusement park designed for young children, featuring enchanting fairytale-themed rides and attractions. The park brings famous fairy tales to life, allowing visitors to explore scenes such as Sleeping Beauty's bed chamber and a charming gnome village. Perfect day out for kids ages 3-6 (+-). For older kids it can still be plenty of fun, but then you probably want a little more excitement in terms of rides etc. Size wise perfect as well in my opinion, easily do all in half a day with the kids being tired by then. Nice museum in Laren.
Excellent amenities like restaurant and good clean toilets.
We had a nice visit and everything was well taken care off. I must admit that it is not exactly my cup off tea but it is worth the visit!
Oud Valkeveen is a family-friendly amusement park located near Naarden, offering a variety of gentle thrill rides and interactive shows suitable for all ages. The park features a water park, playground, and mini-golf, making it an ideal destination for a fun day out with family and friends. Situated in a pleasant nature reserve area with easy parking, the well-maintained park provides affordable entertainment for kids up to around 12 years old.
Even on a rainy day nice playground inside, play area, cinema and we got the chance to see a theater play, kids enjoyed a lot.

The place is perfect for ages 0-10. Not over croded, just the kind of rides you need. Even the road there was very nice, a countryside drice.
However, they were short-staffed, which means more than a few rides didn't work.

Friendly, safe and affordable amusement park for kids up to about 12yrs of age. Well maintained and pretty, in quite a pleasant nature reserve cum leafy residential area. There's a beach where you can swim or lounge a bit. The usual Dutch savory and sweet snacks are on sale at multiple vending points. Easy parking. Lines are usually absent or (on sunny weekend days) maybe 5-10 minutes so no problem.
Not a place to come to when it's really rainy. And if you're close to 2m tall (or more), watch out in the bumper cars and while walking around.

B-day party for my Godchild's little boy. He enjoyed it. Half a day was too short. So, we need to come back a few times. Years ago we came here already with my nieces and nephews. It still is a wonderful place for children till 12 years old. :-D

Great 3 in 1 park with playground, green area, attractions and lake beach. Free parking. small children have a lot of fun. the park could invest in more attractions because it has plenty of space for more attractions. Worth a visit.

Good theme park for ages 4+. Note that you must pay full price for 2 year olds, however most of the rides are for children above 95cm or 105cm. Our little boy was way too small, so full price for him seemed a little expensive. Also tried to book online in advance but it seems you need to have a Dutch bank account to do so (no PayPal option etc).

Place is great with kids. If your kid is 100-120 cm tall , you can find a lot of activities that you can enjoy together. 120 and above they can ride everything without you :)

Really nice children amusement park.
This is the type of park where very young kids can also enjoy many of the rides and slightly older children (7+ or so) can already walk around to enjoy the rides without direct supervision. Great young family entertainment.

Great on sunny days. Most attractions are outdoors. If it's hot, there is even a small beach for swimming. And, important to know, one of the few places you can bring your own food and drinks- even though many reasonably priced catering options on site. Overall great for kids from 2-12 (and their parents/grandparents).

The park’s ambiance is enchanting! Lush greenery, beautiful lake in the middle surrounded by variety of rides. We enjoyed dragon track, swing, stork danger. Perfect place to spend a day with your kids. Travelling by private car is recommended as the nearest bus stop is 2.2 km away. You can book the tickets online from their website.

Great fun for young kids, maybe until ages 10 or 11. The amusement park is quite compact which is great for families and kids because whole thing can be covered in one visit if you start as early as it's open.
The facilities like toilets and cafe are a bit old and in need of renovation, but kids don't care about this, it's just the adults.
Highly recommended if you're within an hour drive. It's also reasonable priced.

Great outing for younger kids, and they can all enjoy the rides. There's a great beach area on the lake which was great to get in on a hot day.
Queues for food and drink were very busy , only usual patat and friekendel fast food available.

Amazing place for kids of all ages!
Nice and friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately a bit difficult to get there using public transport. The way there is beautiful but a bit unsafe because in some areas there are no pathways, so is risky with a kid. Other than that once you get there is great! I wish they would have some kind of shuttle service?

Have the greatest time possible with your little ones.
If you manage to get there in a on overcrowded day and with good weather... You'll have the greatest time for your money.
Kids 4-10 will have a fantastic time here... And their parents too!
The food is just ok, normal for a place like this.ñ and at a good price. My only complaint is the highest at the Barbecue Bar: Non existent. The waiters poking the meat with their dirty hands which they use for just anything else (like picking up money from customers) and they don't even seem to have a place to wash the hands.
Anyway... Great place.
