Scenic and peacefully placed on Rennesøy. Did not stay the night, but enjoyed the rich sunday buffet. Great food: shrimp, fish soup, four types of meat, vegetables and side dishes, cakes and sweets. Will be back!

We had julebord there. Good service, nice place and atmosphere but food could be better. Dry pinnekjøtt unfortunately. It looked like the food was warmed up few times/for too long and it tasted overcooked.

Lovely place in beautiful surroundings. I ate fish here. Recomend it. My friends had veal and was not so happy about it. But they asked for well done and of corse, it got dry. The fish never dissapoint, so juicey with lots of taste from the garnityr to compliment it. Service is as good as it gets 👍😊

We were the only guests at the hotel, attending a meeting. Staff is Friendly, and the location of the hotel is great. Nice views and a short walk to the Utstein monestary. Dinner was so so, lunch was better with fresh fish. Breakfast was plenty with an ok selection. Rooms are located in separate houses and are generally small but comfortable, with an average standard. Free WiFi of course and tv in all rooms.

Perfect location for a romantic getaway. Rooms are a bit noisy, but decent quality. The food was good. The best thing with this hotel is the location and the surrounding area.

Here you get to experience a museum where people actually love and put effort into what they do! The museum is incredibly well made and looks very lifelike! I was amazed at how well it was done and how good it looked 😀 It was like a travel back in time! I definitely recommend coming here and visiting this place if you're a fan of history, or if you're not a fan at all, because you will be after coming here! 😃 It is so detailed and historically accurate. I definitely recommend anyone coming here and enjoying the place 😊 The absolute best museum I've been to!

Svandalsfossen is a majestic waterfall located near Saudasjoen in Ryfylke, with a total drop of 180 meters. Visitors can park by Fv. 520 and take a walk under the bridge to get up close to the powerful cascade. In 2006, a bridge and stairway system was constructed as part of the National Tourist Road Project, allowing hikers to climb steep stairs for an immersive experience at the foot of the upper waterfall.
Here is another breathtaking waterfall that you should not miss off the Scenic Route 520. In fact, you only see half of it off the road. To appreciate its beauty, you should hike up. The trail is well maintained with steel stairs. The rusty red of the stair has good contrast out off the surroundings. Nice and easy hike, you will see the full waterfall. Very very beautiful!
Lei Wang — Google review
The waterfall was very spectacular. It has aLOT of water and it is very big and Beautiful if you are on the way I recommend visiting here.

Svandalsfossen has a fall of 180 meters in total. By Fv. 520 you can park and walk under the bridge to really experience the waterfall close up. In 2006 an impressive bridge and stairway system was opened under the auspices of the Norwegian Road Directorate's National Tourist Road Project. The stairs are steep and lead up to the foot of the upper waterfall, where you will be rewarded with a fresh shower.

no signs about prices. first pay at the parking and then pay again at the entrance. why not put up a sign by the parkplace so it is clear what your prices are.

We visited while on a FJORD cruise. It's about a 20-minute walk from the dock, and you'll cross a stream. The building has a tour in English, very worthwhile. The Cafe, not so much. We didn't have time to see much else on the island.

Nice walk through tree lined Avenue to the Barony which is situated in beautiful gardens. Lots of history in the house. But the guided tour was very rushed as there seemed to be a queue of tours waiting. Pity! Cafe and restaurant in grounds make this a lovely place to chill out.
Margaret Mckinney — Google review
Nice place to take a walk and even to have a lunch. But cost of admission is too high. After all it is just a park with no special attractions. We didn't join guided tour - maybe it would be more interesting.
Łukasz B — Google review
You should explain to visitors that they will not see the waterfalls as indicated in your map at the entrance. We paid 12.50 euros to see a garden. We asked at the desk about the waterfalls we wanted to see and they said that we can see them. Which was not possible since the waterfalls were 2km far and more and the best way to see a bit of the water on the ground was from the other road outside of the park which we found out very late. So very disappointing all this.
Doris Chiotis — Google review
Great gardens to wander around and the tour is definitely worth doing, such an interesting history to learn about
Taylor Mason — Google review
Beautiful gardens, plenty of space to walk around, nice cafe environment surrounded by flowers. They only serve black coffee tho, do not come for a nice cappuccino, you will be disappointed. You can also find ice cream and cakes.

Fantastic setting. Numerous paths through serene, lush gardens connect the main noble villa with the remaining estate. The mountains provide a truly dramatic backdrop to this unique place. Staff are charming and forthcoming, the kitchen is exquisite with a small but excellent menu. Highly recommended.
Larger waterfall with powerful movement & a scenic lower spillway in a pastoral mountain setting.
Langfossen is ranked top 20 in the world's most beautiful waterfalls. The waterfall starts at 600 meters above sea level and goes all the way down to around 50. You can drive all the way to the bottom of the waterfall where you can buy food and some drinks. If you have decided to climb the mountain you shouldn't bring too heavy of a backpack as its very steep all the way. If you are going to the viewpoint its important that you go all the way back to the original path because if you don't, you might get lost. When you get to the top of the waterfall you will see that there are a few mountains surrounding it, which you will have to climb in order to gain mobile connection. Overall the view from the top is very beautiful, I would also not recommend bringing any children under the age of 12 unless you are willing to carry them throughout most of the trip. The trip should take 2-4 hours one way, depending if you are carrying heavy backpacks or not
Audrius Bagdonas — Google review
Definitely it is one of the spectacular waterfalls I have seen In Norway or other countries. A must see place on the was to Haugesund to Oslo. It has a stunning view. The water falls from such heights that for some moments you just can’t move and keep watching the fall of water. There is also a small hike trek if some have time to explore that more, highly recommend.

Beautiful waterfall falling from top of the mountains and falling directly to the fjords. Magical waterfall. Easy accessible by road. Parking place available but might be busy on tourist season.
Nawaraj Gautam — Google review
Spectacular waterfall by the side of the road. Definitely worth a stop to enjoy the falls and the gorgeous views around. Across the street from the fall (take the under passage to avoid crossing speedy road) there is a small coffee shop and there are limited seats there and more below on the boardwalk area. The falls are great but the 360 views of the fjord add so much more. Highly recommend.

A very beautiful hike and magnificient waterfall. But never go on a hike on a rainy day!! We made it up halfway to the top (there is a very nice viewpoint at the half of the tour) and decided to go back. On the way down we realized that there was much more water flowing on and besides the road, which is dangerous for such a steep hiking route. One of the tiny waterfalls that you could walk over turned into a big one and we had to walk and climb through it for 2 minutes on a stony path without really seeing where we put our feet. We couldn‘t have made it if we didn‘t hold each others hand the whole time and being extremly careful. You can see in the picture what part of the route it is.

Buarbreen, located in the Folgefonna National Park near Odda, offers a picturesque and challenging hike. The trail features diverse terrain including mountains, glaciers, forests, streams, and waterfalls. Hikers must navigate steep and rocky sections with ropes and ladders while also crossing muddy areas. Despite the challenging terrain, the hike is manageable for those in good shape. The stunning views of waterfalls amidst glaciers and fjords make this an unforgettable experience.
This hike is Crazy!! You will see a little jungle in the middle of glaciers and fjords. You can start your hike in the near of Odda (8km from the city center) as a cool-down the day after Trolltunga. The views are tremendous. The waterfalls going wild these days and you will cross many of them on the way to the top. We had 500m of ascent and in total 10km back and forth. At the parking you have to pay 185NOK for the day. At the entrance of the hiking trail you will face horses and cows in their habitat. Just make sure you bring water resistant shoes and a bottle of water, that could be refilled on the entire way to and on the glacier.
Niklas — Google review
The hike was great, going up the rocky path, including several places where you have to use ropes/chains. However, it is not too difficult. It looks rather steep from below, but despite some harder spots the hike was totally ok and the glacier was actually closer than it appeared from the valley.
Zuzana Hukelova — Google review
From the parking lot you get your first glimpse of the glacier. Parking cost 150NOK a day and you pay by credit card when leaving. From the parking lot you follow a marked path. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery, the walk is as much of the event as the glacier itself. The trip is close to 3 km one way, and with normal walking speed you will use 3-4 hours in total. Most of the time you walk on rocks and boulders and there are also some parts where you need to use the fixed ropes to climb or rappel. No climbing experience or equipment is needed, but you would benefit from having good leg and arm strength. Good hiking shoes are required, and don't forget to bring warm clothes as you end up 650 meters higher than you started and cold winds from the glacier pours down the valley. You won’t be able to walk on the glacier itself as a meltwater river stream at the base blocks your way. Enjoy!
Arn Sveinung Pettersen — Google review
One of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever done (and I live in Switzerland where we have so many stunning hikes). This hike doesn’t take long, less than 3 hours if you’re in good shape, and the variety of terrain you see - mountains, glacier, forest, streams, waterfalls - is spectacular. The trail is rocky and steep in parts, requiring use of ropes and ladders to scramble up some of the slopes. You also have to cross a few muddy, wet areas, so be sure to wear good hiking shoes. Enjoy!
Alissa Hsu Lynch — Google review
Very well designed track and entertaining for kids. Physically demanding. Great views of Buarbreen glacier. We decided to change our plans from Trolltunga (too long) to this glacier instead. It was a right decision. Really worth the hike

Låtefossen Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction located in Norway. It features two streams that converge and an old stone bridge across the bottom. Tourists can witness the beauty of this waterfall on Day 6 of their Norway itinerary, or as a separate visit if they missed it earlier.

You cannot believe to its beauty. Visit it and enjoy. Note that you should have a warm clothes since it is cold and also you would get wet. Please note: our drawn crashed with a tree and fell down the other side if river. To take it, you can drive the other side and hike through the trees and then take it. It is too hard but at least you can have your drone.

Latefossen, located in the Odda municipality of Hordaland, Norway, is a captivating dual waterfall that holds its own charm. The simultaneous flow of water from two sources creates a spectacular visual treat. The surrounding landscape, with its towering cliffs and vibrant greenery, adds to the allure of Latefossen. Visitors are treated to a unique experience, and the accessibility of the waterfall makes it a popular stop for those exploring the scenic beauty of Norway. Overall, Latefossen stands as a remarkable natural attraction, combining the power of nature with a picturesque setting. Usually it gets busy in the mornings and afternoons, parking is limited

Discover a breathtaking twin waterfall adorned with authentic stones, creating a mesmerizing scene. This enchanting location offers the perfect spot for a refreshing coffee or tea break, with a splendid view of the serene river and cascading waterfall. Additionally, there's a charming souvenir shop adjacent to the site, where you can purchase mementos and refreshments for your journey and cherishable memories.
However, due to its popularity, the place can get quite crowded, making it occasionally challenging to find a parking spot. Nevertheless, the allure of this picturesque destination makes it a must-visit despite the occasional hustle and bustle.

The drive here was a adventure on its own, having clear green waters you can swim im, and steep and narrow roads. Getting to the top you get kind of mesmerized seeing the ski resort. The cafe and the toilets are in quitebadshape, but ifyou BYO lunch you can really enjoy your days skiing on an actual glacier.
Åse Marie Straume — Google review
Personally didn't ski at the resort however I only saw a long anchor lift and icy slopes. As a more inexperienced snowboarder this would've been horrible.
I did visit the restaurant which was very clean. The food tasted quite good but it was very pricy for the amount you received. The pizza crust was tough and hard and the pizza was doughy. The amount of stew you received was minimal and on the cheaper side. Even if transports are difficult at a location like this the monopoly was taken advantage of. (such as 'no external' food signs).
The staff was pleasant but service could've been better. There was speakers and an attempt at music was playing even if the electric bass was the only distinguishable instrument. The acoustics inside were harsh and noisy making every plate scrape sharp and painful.
The redeeming qualities of the resort is the incredible views and the accessibility of skiing in the summer. This along with the blue ice tours with ice pick climbing. Not a place I'd recommend but due to the lack of options an acceptable place (if you have the money)

This is a bit LOL, but definitely worth visiting for that factor alone.
This is a 'healing' church with some weird stories connected to it, including the throwing of prosthesis by healed visitors.
What is more accurate is that this is an old church, one of the few remaining stave churches, albeit heavily modified during the years.

Beautiful and traditional stave church dating back to the medieval. The entrance fee is now 80 NOK. If you are interested in history and architecture it is worth a visit.

I went this church on 27/05/23.
The enterance fee is 80NOK.
The external appearance of the church is good. I think that you don't have to go into the church.

It's a shame to charge for places of prayer and history. It is an heritage belonging to all and to all Christians and non-Christians and it would be preferable to propose to make a gift according to the possibilities of each one. Which God monetizes the right to pray in a sacred place?
I don't think it is the message of Jesus Christ to make money like you do. The excuse to turn it into a museum in the summer is opportunism.
Trolltunga is a remarkable natural formation that juts out from a rocky precipice over Lake Ringedalsvatnet in Norway. It is one of the most photographed attractions in the country and draws many hikers to its challenging 27km trail.
One of the most amazing experiences of our lives. The hike is long and medium in difficulty but it can be do in one day if you shuttle to the starting point. We did it with our 2 kids who were 10 and 15 at the time. The youngest kid we met on the trail was 5. Ideally is to take your time but we only had one day for this. It took us 3h to get to the troll’s tongue and about 2h to get back to the shuttle. We spent 2h or so on the rock taking photos. There is a line but it goes pretty fast. Bring lots of water, snacks and sunscreen. On a sunny day the sun will burn. We learned that the hard way.

This is one of the best hikes I have ever done!
We parked our car at the P1 around 8:30am (P2 was already fully by then and P3 needs to be reserved way in advance). We paid 300NOK for the parking + 200NOK for a shuttle but that took us to P2 (we also paid 200NOK when coming back). The road from P1 to P2 is pretty tight and there is traffic so it is not adviceable to do it on foot. We did walked from P2 to P3 both ways but you also have the option to take another shuttle bus.
It took us around 7 hours and half to get back to P2, we were really lucky with the weather and the view are absolutely stunning! The hike is not an easy one but hands down the Troll Tongue makes it all worth it!

Amazing hike, really worth it. You get to see multiple breathtaking views and at the top you see the rock n take pictures. Please read the instructions given on official website, these are really helpful and you experience will be great.
Wear good shoes, flexible trouser and rainproof jacket. Take extra shirt with you, use toilet before starting your hike, keep something to eat (energy bars, fruits, sandwiches..etc) and water (plain water, energy drinks, juice…etc)
Hike itself is not very hard, it’s just long if you are beginner, almost half of the time you just walk straight and elevation is there on both directions means you go up and down multiple times instead of just going upwards and coming down on the way back. This mean complexity is almost the same on the way back.

What a hike this is! The view at the end is definitely worth it. People are waiting at the end to let you have your moment alone on the rock, which is quite nice!
Make sure to wait a bit for the right moment, it can be very cloudy for a while and then rapidly change to beautiful weather!
The hike can be quite crowded, would recommend to go at an early time to avoid queuing!

Amazing hike. Hard, but definitely worth it. We took the first bus up from p2->p3 and it was definitely worth it. The road was super super steep during that part so if you do want to hike it, be prepared. Started walking just before 7am and got to the Trolltunga just after 11am. There was a short line for pictures when we arrived but we found that from 11:30am-12pm there were the most people trying to take pictures. Definitely try to get pictures before 2pm during august as you’ll have a big shadow after that time. There’s a few streams and waterfalls along the way which we filled up our bottles at. A little bit hard on the joints as there’s a lot of stairs made from big rocks so bring your braces if you wear them.

Once you get there you will forget all the hardship on the way. It’s breathtaking. You will need to pay for a parking spot there. Don’t forget enough food and water.

Best hike I've ever done in my life. The views through the hike and the special view at the end are out of this world. This was in my bucket list for some time now, and I kind of came to Norway to do it. Zero regrets, what an experience. The hike is long but doable. You need to be in good physical shape.

I`m not a hiker and though this hike was very difficult for me I can honestly say that it is truly worthed. It took me 10 hours to go there and get back. We parked at P3 parking (paid 600 NOK for parking, be sure to book it in advance). It is a very popular trail so expect to see a lot of people on the way and up there. You can`t see the view unless you reach the final point. Before reaching it there is another marvelous view. When you finally get there, you`ll see people waiting in line to take a photo on Trolltunga. We didn`t line, we just marveled at the view.

From P3 at Magelitopp you have 10 km to the Troll’s tongue and it saves you 8 km of walk. The road up there is winding and steep but very safe - it’s been asphalted recently. Only 30 cars per day are allowed to P3 so booking is necessary (600 kronas). A toll has been added (200 kronas) - so it makes it a pricy attraction. The hike itself is indeed challenging (Visit Norway just changed the rating from red to black), as the path is almost never flat (apart from the first 45 minutes). Two steep portions of climbing. The body needs to be warmed up for this exercise or there will be some pain. People seem to be able to do it in running shoes but I definitely appreciated my boots and wool socks on the jagged rocky paths. After a few rather boring rocky stretches, lakes and rivers start to appear with patches of coloured flower beds that distract you briefly from the pain in your legs. There were many people on the trail but the wait at the top for the pics on the tongue was very short (we did it on a Sunday). Pack a towel for a quick dip in the lakes. At around km 8 there’s a river where you can fill up the water bottle.

Amazing hike, absolutely amazing! I'm going to make first timers lives easier! Don't do it in shoes, when there is no snow, running shoes are fine, when there is snow, take boots, go to the outlet store for hiking equipment in town, they have cheap waterproof options. If there is no snow don't worry. Take a second pair of socks to change into at the top as your feet will likely get wet. You can fill you water bottle along the way, so don't take litres for the beginning of the hike. If you don't want to walk up the winding road, pay for the shuttle bus, but don't just rock up and hope to get a seat, book online before hand and skip the que. Be mindful of the shuttle bus times, we did the round trip in 5 hours, including photos and eating at the top and we were too early for the shuttle bus and walked from p3 to p2, after the hike.

We did the trail mid June and I found the weather to be perfect, cloudy. I cannot imagine walking for so long without any clouds on the sky. We reserved parking at P3 four days prior and it was the best decision. We did in total 8 hours including the 30 minute wait to take our pictures. All in all I would recommend it but it's that type of trail where all the beauty is at the finish line, not that much to see on the way there.

Magnificent place! We parked our car P2 and we used shuttle bus to go to P3, it’s also starting point for Trolltunga. The hike was quite easy, but a bit long! But the scenery was amazing so we didn’t feel bored at all. We made a camp near the last water source, it was beautiful area just I saw one bad thing the people came here leaved the tissue, I assume toilet paper, their behind even the starting point and all area has signs about bring your waste back, it is so sad for me because we should keep clean and protect these amazing place and even you can get a waste bag from the start point for free. I mean after those things leaving your dirty tissues is so selfiesh. Please don’t do it.

I definitely recommend this hike! the views until the top are breathtaking. it’s quite an easy hike if you have the right shoes! because of the long days in Norway i preferred to start the hike in the afternoon and catch the sunset on the top! definitely worth it, my pictures did not capture the real beauty of the place.

I hiked up Trolltunga with a guide on 22/05/23.
It was a winter season guide activity.
Most part were still covered with snow.
We started hiking from P3 parking area about 08:15am and went back about 5:00pm.
It has a great view and deserves to hike.
SS LEE (sslee1982) — Google review
Fantastic hike with wonderful, scenic views. Really recommend that you do this one. And the images do not make the view justice.
However you need great shoes and snacks along the way as the trail is tough. And requires that you have a lot of energy. You need to be in quite good shape to do it really. There are quite steep inclines that require some determination to master.
The “tongue” is quite broad to walk on so not as scary as it looks.
You will have a nice time doing it but make sure you do it on a day with great weather.

Visited here on mid sep Arrived around 7.00am and half of the P2 parking(500nok) lot still available. Weather- bit cloudy at the start then sunny throughout the entire hiking
We pre-booked the shuttle bus to P3. (150nok each) Kinda start the hike at ~7.50am Lot of people yet its a popular attraction so deal with it
Its our first time here so we’re trying not to rush and appreciate the scenery along the way. There are many spots to stop by really recommend don’t be too rush and skip it. But its depend on your goal anyway. Arrived at ttg at noon, hang there for lunch and finishing at ~16.30
Splendid experience 👍🏻👍🏻
Ps. Recommend to be prepared with the hiking boot(especially a clumsy one like me) , the gear depend on the weather, water and food :)

The most beautiful hiking I’ve ever had!
We stared our hike quite late at 11:30 from P2. There were no shuttle bus already. And finished at 21:30.
Almost 28km return hike from P2
We reached Trolltung at about 16:00. There were no many people. But it’s better to start earlier of course! So spend more time enjoying the view!

Beautiful place, highly recommend. Demanding path, but with enough motivation you won’t even notice the way. The view is amazing all around the trail, so you won’t be disappointed.
Yonatan Vovchik — Google review
Great hike. Very good scenery along the way. It’s not a particularly hard hike, not much rock scrambles, no steep ascent or narrow pathways. It’s just long, so good shoes and supplies (food & water) make a difference.
We were there for two consecutive days. First day was raining. There were still lots of people going, but we decided to wait for better weather. The second day had great weather, but P2 was almost full when we got there at 8:30am. The line waiting for the bus to P3 was long (they only had two vans running, each carrying about 18 people and taking 30 mins for round trip). You can make bus reservations online ahead of time, which allows you to bypass the line at your designated time slot. But that made the line go even slower. We waited an hour before boarding, paying 150NOK/pp. It’s still worth it though, saving time (~1hr) and energy for the initial climb for an already long hike. We also took the bus down at the end of the hike (100NOK/pp), just wanting to get to the car/bathroom quicker at that point.
It took us about three hours to get to the rock. There is line there to take photos. The rock is pretty flat and broad, so not scary at all to be on. The best place to take photos is quite far behind the line, before climbing down the ladder. So try to find a partner not adjacent to you to take your pictures while you walk on the tongue. Plan at least 45 mins for queuing and photos at the rock (there are also smaller tongues to explore).
The return trip was a bit faster (2.5h), with an alternate path at the end to the P3 parking lot if you’re lucky enough to reserve one. It’s booked out many weeks in advance, and you’d be gambling on good weather for the day you chose.

My daughter and I had the most amazing experience of our lives when we did white water rafting with Voss Active.
The staff members were respectful, patient, polite and experienced.
Thank you, Voss Active.
Will definitely will want to return to try out the other activities.

The experience was good , however , it need more improvement comparing with the money paid.
The rafting itself took around 1 hour net , the rest of the time ( from the 3 hours in total ) include safety induction , rafting training , swimming ( which I like ) and moving to another spot by walking to avoid waterfalls.
The service and personal are very supportive and professional.

Today I went canyoning with Voss Active. I was with my brother, some other people and some instructors. We went with a bus up a mountain. After some time in the bus and a while through a forest we finally arrived at the river.
It was a really nice journey with good views and very good instructors. All the gear was also nice. I liked the jumps from rocks very much. Some jumps where just a few meters high and others almost 10 meters high. Good thing to know is that for people who found themselves struggling to jump from these heights there was another option so they didn't force you to do things you did not want.
I will thank Nathan, Kyle, Matt and 'the random dude' for the nice experience and the coffee after the trip.

This is honestly the best rafting trip I've ever been on in my life. It was perfect in terms of degree of excitement (lots of action, but I never thought my life was in danger). They provide plenty of instruction which includes a short swim test down a small rapid (so be mentally prepared for that). Also, be prepared to work; you do have to paddle a fair amount. Norway is expensive, but I felt like the price was very reasonable for the amount of fun we had. Also, the photos were pretty reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

In one word...WOW. We had 6 of us ranging from 34-68 and this trip took us all out of our comfort zones in various ways. However, we all said this was our favorite part of our Norway trip (there were a lot of highlights!). Will was our amazing guide and not only was he patient with our various fears (getting down to the water down steep rocks, jumping into the water and crazy rapids) but he was an incredible navigator through the class 4 rapids. It was terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time!!! Thank you Will!

Starting the river with the jump into the fresh, clear, cold water and you directly know - here we go! Nick was a great guide, guiding us safely but still keep the fun and excitement up! It's great to see him in his element happy like an unicorn and share his experience and passion with us...pointing out his favorite rock on the section in the same fascination he is talking about kayaking or multi-day rafting trips in his winter holidays!

Had a great day on the river today, lots of fun and lots of splashing around even after a lot of rain recently. We did skip two drops due to safety reasons which when we saw the drops was the best thing to do.
The staff were very informative and very friendly. Evan was super funny and got us working as a team which was great.
The only improvement I would say is when testing our swimming ability a lest turbulent part to start would be better. I know this must be done to ensure safety but I don’t think that was the best idea. The walk down is quite hard too.
All in all a class time though!

Thoroughly enjoyed rafting down the bouncy glacial river with the world's most fun Kiwi guide whom our family dubbed hot Will for his uncanny ability to maintain headshot-worthy poses and a winning grin in every action photo, while the rest of us pulled stupid, unflattering faces getting comprehensibly soaked on this super fun, entertaining ride. Best place (world wide?) to do skydive course, tandem and for pro skydiving.
Awesome atmospher, friendly people, big playground for kids (for free!!!), so its a nice place to just hang around and there is a river 10 minutes walking from the dropzone where you can have a chill swim on warm summer days with crystal clear water.
There is also a sauna, hot tubs, climbing tower and cafeteria.
What more can you ask for?
A freshly baked pizza from a stone oven? Yes there is!
Its a must place to visist if you are in Voss or driving thrue. Even if you dont dare to take the step to do a skydive.

Extremely difficult to deal with if you require a refund due to
cancellations - previous reviews seem to confirm this as well. Great if everything goes smoothly and weather is perfect, I unfortunately had a different experience. Travelled a long way for the skydive, called them 3 days in advance to confirm if the dive will go ahead as weather was forecasted to be rain/cloud. Called them the day before and they seemed very confident it would go ahead despite me questioning the weather. We get there on the day, I paid the balance and was immediately told after they take my money that the dive may not go ahead if the clouds stay low. Waited 1.5 hours before we were told the dive is cancelled. I emailed them for confirmation of a refund and for 7 days did not receive a responds or answer to any of my calls. They finally responded 2 weeks later saying they will process the refund and that it would take another 14 days, 14 days pass and still no refund. Emailed them again, and the response was they had filled in the bank account details wrongly and the transaction did not go through and they will redo the refund which then came through immediately. Which begs the question if this was all a delay tactic. While the experience would've have been great if the skydive happened, the business is run extremely badly, when you take money from customers so easily but do not follow up with care. Will not be recommending this place.
Melanie Inbaraj — Google review
Excellent place to skydive!! The scenery is beautiful and the skies are incredibly blue. The people are awesome and can get you started in skydiving or show you a good time if you're already jumping. Definitely check out this dropzone.

My wife and two of her friends wanted to try tandem skydiving and booked a timeslot for 17th of July. The day came and we drove to the jump site. The weather on the day was unstable but the instructors were optimistic that the jump would go ahead. We proceeded to pay 3 x 3.490 plus the previous paid deposit of 3 x 500 but the weather conditions deteriorated to the point where the instructors canceled due to safety reasons. This was of course irritating but safety must always come first.
The problem is that we never received the refund. We have been in contact with Voss Fallskjermklubb repeatedly and they have actually told us the money was refunded the same day the jump was canceled, but no money has reached any of our bank accounts.
We have sent them numerous mails and called them several times but we don't hear anything from them. No follow up and no money. I would recommend that you don't pay anything to Voss fallskjermklubb unless the weather conditions are absolutely perfect, since it seems they have big cash flow problems.

Very fun play park for young children (under 10). There’s a playground, a small water park area, and an indoor jungle gym. The food isn’t the best (except the French fries which are delicious) but you can bring in your own and there’s even grills available for use if you bring your own hot dogs and such. Nice amusement park for children 2-12. Lots of aktivities, swimming pool, climbing park, play ground etc. 4-6 hours is enough to complete all activities, of course you can spend all day in park.
You should buy ticket before 7-15 days before to secure your place in summer but DO NOT Give Up, if all tickets are booked, it is generally possible to buy ticket after 12.00 or 13.00, you should go to mikkelpark camping reception center to ask if there is empty place.
If you hungry there are some cafe and fast food restaurant. (Grill plate 180
Accomandation: There are some hotels and camping place close to the park. Mikkelpark has own camping place. I can also advise kinsarvik camping.

This is the first waterfall you'll come across if you're doing the hike to see all four which is what we did. Easy to get to but still impressive next to the power station. I recommend getting to the second one if you can but it's a steep climb!

Powerful waterfall that is less well known. The water volume of this fall is very big which makes it one of my favourite from my trip. The hike up towards nyastolfossen is also nice (there's two paths). I highly recommend this waterfall hike but it's not for beginner hikers because it's not well paved and is quite a steep climb. Tveitafossen is easy to walk to though so you can always choose to go to just one waterfall instead of all the falls in the husedalen valley.

I visited this place with my dog. We walked on the hiking route all the way to the top and had a nice dip in the waterfall before heading down. On the way down i noticed there is another route which is a road with gravel. Such a nice surprice, as the route we took up was very exausting with a dog on your shoulder :-)
I recomment you to take both routes, in which order is for you to decide. There is a big difference between the routes and how you watch the river from them and i wouldn't like to miss any of them!

The Husedalen hike starts in the town of Kinsarvik, in the western fjords area.
From Bergen it is about a 2-hour drive.
The walk starts easily, on a paved road. Until the first waterfall, Tveitafossen. That is about a 30 minute walk.
Then the real hiking begins. The path becomes steeper and more difficult. But it's worth it 🙂.

(Translated by Google) This trip is absolutely fantastic, but somewhat demanding. From the first waterfall you can go further, either by road or by path. We recommend taking the road until you see the signs from DNT (marked T) towards stavali tourist hut. Then you get the best way along the waterfalls and rivers. Remember to take several breaks on the worst slopes and drink plenty of water from the river. Did the trip with small children aged 5 and 7, and it went well, but could have been a little better marked with distance signs and generally better marking. Otherwise, the trip was completely adventurous! It is fine to camp between the second and third waterfalls. Just before the third waterfall, there is also a WC that you can use.

Tvindefossen is a well-known waterfall in Norway, dropping over 150 meters amid tree-covered hills and cliffs. It is located on the route from Bergen to Gudvangen and can be easily accessed by road. However, it tends to get crowded with large tour groups stopping here frequently. Despite the crowds, Tvindefossen remains a picturesque destination for anyone who admires waterfalls.
nice waterfall on the side of the road...too much crowed as big tour groups stop here.

There is a small parking lot and small building with possibly a cafe or bathrooms right in front of the falls. Everything was closed in November and the falls were just a trickle. But still a cool quick stop between Bergen and Flåm.

Amazing waterfall. You can catch them if you are driving from Flam to Voss or vice-versa. It’s pretty soothing to keep staring at the waterfalls. The view in the front of the waterfall is pretty amazing as well.

its an average waterfall.. comparing the wonderful waterfalls that we saw in norway, this was an average waterfall for us..
i would not recommend anyone to stop at this waterfall.
Its very close to the main road.. It was a dissapointment for us..
It was not worth our time !!

This is not the exact location of the waterfall, it's across the street and marked by another point of interest. Google Maps does not provide the ability to edit this point to correct it.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Norway…Just 15 mins drive from Voss…I couldn’t make a camp due to my congested road-trip but I must suggest people to stay here (campsite) for 1 or 2 nights to enjoy its amazing beauty…I bet, U won’t regret.

Ski resort with a stylish hotel, cabins & runs of varying levels, plus mountain biking in summer.
Our favourite ski resort in western Norway.

I would love to rate this higher but the price of a lift pass stops me, 485 nok for a day (6 hours) is too much, especially when you bring the family.

Great ski resort with varying slopes of difficulty and training slope. The resort motel but expensive but everything in Norway is expensive.

Very nice place! Best I have seen in Norway so far. Only minus was that it had been snowing all night and all slopes where covered in 25cm loose snow. Not a big problem for me but i was happy I didn't have my wife and kids with me because they wouldn't have enjoyed this day.. Maybe check the weather forecast and if they expect a lot of snow during the night then take the prepping of the slopes in the morning instead of wasting the effort the evening before ?? Otherwise excellent ski resort !!

First skiing holiday for my family and I, and Myrkdalen was perfect. Stayed here over Xmas week and it was mostly v. quiet with beautiful weather. Hotel is clean, comfy and modern. Food is decent (lots of it!) and staff v. pleasant. Ski slopes were perfect and the instructors at the local ski school were excellent and super friendly. I'd definitely come back for more skiing.

Best skiing resort in Norway. Great variation of slopes and amazing views from the mountain peaks. There are often loads of people so be prepared for some long queues and crowded slopes. Most people here are very experienced skiiers though so you generally feel safe.

Higher located skiing resort. The resort is cca 1000m above the sea level and so has good snow conditions from Dec-May. it is approx 2 hours drive from Bergen. Restaurants are closed a bit earlier than ski lifts!

Great spot for more alpine skiing in Norway. Good quality ski rental kit. Upscale quality amenities, restaurants and so forth. Great runs. Once again the resort is typical of Norway sized resorts, perhaps a little larger.

The perfect resort for us. We wanted a small resort with more blue slopes than red or black as we are novice skiers and this is exactly what we wanted. It's quite small so a long weekend will suffice rather than a week long break.
Best experience and adventure company in Norway! Friendly family owned business, highly recommend a visit. The kayaking tour was stunning with great stories and local fun facts. 10/10⭐

We‘ve done the 3-hours kayak-tour with Sander as our guide.
He did it perfect for us: First a short introduction in safety and handling issues, then we put on the sprayshirts and live wests and go on board.
The tour took us out of the harbour and on the right side following the coast line. Sander gives us many information about the fjord, history, people and paddling as well.
We had a great time! We have enough time for fotos and resting, if we Need.
The highlight were two seals that popped ca 15-20m in front of us out of the water and looking curious at us (like we to them). We took some time to observe them, before we find our way back to the harbour.
We can definitevly recommend this Tour and Best Adventures AS :)

Definitely recommend! We did the 3 hour kayak tour and it was so much fun. Our tour guide was really relaxed and focused on giving us the best experience by giving us freedom and time to explore on our own as well. He had a lot of interesting things and knowledge to share with us.

A wonderful morning of paddling. We are staying in Odda and were a bit annoyed that we had decided to drive all the way to Eidfjord for kayaking - but it was TOTALLY worth it. The guide was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The paddling was challenging without being too much. My 12 year old daughter and 14 year old on enjoyed it. Make sure to bring hearty snacks and plenty of water. Also, I would suggest some kind of active sandle (tevas, chacos, even crocs) with wool socks. My feet didn't get wet but that is not guaranteed and you don't want your shoes to get wet. A wonderful morning!

We truly had a great time here! Our rafting guide was quite funny and very experienced. The rapids weren’t too rough on the trip we were on, and it was a nice trip! Very good price point as well.
Natalie Warren — Google review
This rafting was fun but not cheap and you have to pay cash - NO CREDIT CARDS! They accepted NOK or Euro (85€ for 2 persons). The rafting location is very close - 1 Minute via can. The water was very nice clear glacier water, but cold. But no problem thanks to the good equipment we got from Flatearth. The ride is rather short though, 30 minutes per trip, we did it 2 times and it was really fun! Guides were very nice and well skilled- also showed us a nice place for a little cliff jumping.

Fantastic fun activity -rainy day or not! Kitted up in wet suits, you stay nice and warm regardless of the weather. We were 5, two adults and three teenagers, and we all had great fun down the river. Highly recommendable activity, takes about 3 hrs from you arrive till you are finished. After dressing up in wet suits, there is a practice run on the fjord before going down the river. Bring a swim suit and a towel. Reasonably priced too.
State-of-the-art museum with interactive natural history displays, fossils & a panoramic film.
Super experience for everyone. Here, we just wanted to learn something about Norway’s history but found a museum full of information starting from Norways climate, structure, development, animals, a panorama film and nature footage to a general floor covering climate change, the atmosphere and much more. When you are struggling if you should visit the museum, just go. It really is worth the price and you will need 1:30-2h. The only suggestion to make it even better is to film a new panorama movie to include some new pictures with a higher quality ;)
Nilus24 Fußball — Google review
Older panoramic movie of nature from a helicopter. 2023 is supposed to have a newer version according to gift shop. Conservation focused exhibits, hiking, camping, and hunting simulator. Restaurant with local flavors across the street- gift shop with goats on the roof. Pricey souvenirs.
Apf Mike — Google review
This is an indoor museum which has an interesting display focusing on the development of Norway through the ages, mainly focusing on the geology. As a nature centre I had expected something outside which is completely lacking. You will learn something for sure and it's useful if it's a cold rainy day, otherwise it's like a museum at a roadside that keeps you out of some stunning scenery.
Matthew Shaw — Google review
Norway really needs to bring outside museum and attraction experts in to design 21st Century museums. This museum is 5 years old, and while the panoramic film is nice, the rest consists mostly of dead stuffed animals and informational placards. That would be fine for a FREE national park visitor center but at 440 NOK ($42 USD) for a family of 4 - it’s ridiculous. This type of attraction is free in the US and UK.
Valerie Avella — Google review
Just popped into restaurant for break on coach trip. Good expefience. Met a local.
Roy Paul — Google review
Mixed feelings. The displays have nice signage in multiple languages, some interesting info like how fjords and glaciers are formed, and a recreated iceberg you can touch (which is indeed cold). It’s located within beautiful scenery, has a cafe and souvenir shop, and goats living on the grassy roof.
However, the 20-30 minute video is simply odd and the taxidermy displayed (including a recreation of reindeer dying) is not remotely what I like to see. The video in particular is the 90s style from helipcopter or plane showing the various fjords which seemed to give some people motion sickness. It also had odd music, no actual information until the last 30 seconds, so wondered why we were in a dark room watching a video when the places were literally outside.
Practical: it’s close to Eidfjord, set over three floors and does have a lift, and toilets are older but clean on lower level.
If sensitive to implication of animals being killed skip the video and second half of top floor exhibit
Becky T — Google review
Really surprised by this modern, interactive and complete museum. It contains a chronology of the natural history of Norway including minerals and their formation, dinosaurs, fauna, flora, demographics... you name it!
On top of the main exposition there's an immersive video focusing on the nature of the area that was really beautiful and relaxing, and a slideshow of Norwegian art inspired by nature.
All explanations are in Norwegian, English and German (with the text being right next to the exposed thing they are referring to). On top of that, many tablets sprinkled around the museum have that same information in a number of other languages such as Spanish, French, etc...

Thats a pretty interesting place to take a wide look on Norway's history and a closer look on it's inhabitants. The variety of themes proposed is really pleasant and the presentations of the birds and mammals are super great !
(But the muskox is missing !) Shame.
Still this is a place to visit if you are wandering in the region. The price of the ticket is worth it.

If you find this church recognizable, it's because it was used as inspiration for the church in Frozen. This technically not a stave church. It was built in the 19th Century. Still, totally worth the visit and probably the main attraction in Balestrand.

Built 1897 by Knut Kvikne (Hotel Kviknes fame) 3 years after his wife's death (1894 - TB). She was Margaret Sophie Green from England, thus the "The English Church." A beautiful building modelled on a Stave Church.

Sognefjord Akvarium is a charming little aquarium that may not have the most impressive exhibits, but it offers a unique glimpse into the underwater life of the fjords. While designed mainly for school groups, visitors can still enjoy discovering hidden critters in the displays. The outdoor area features flow tanks, a touch pool embedded in the dock, and nets to pull up with ropes full of mussels.
This place is mostly designed for school groups and that shows. The exhibits themselves are a little underwhelming - basically slices of the undersea life on the fjords, with all its silt and detritus of shells. Stare long enough and you will discover some hidden critters. Outside, they have flow tanks, a wonderful touch pool embedded in the dock, and a section of dock with nets to pull up and ropes full of mussels. I'm sure you can see done nice bioluminescent displays here too. Finally, admission comes with use of their rowboats or canoes - a nice chance to do a little exploring of Esefjord.
Dustin Mitchell — Google review
We can not really recommend this aquarium. Firstly, it didn't seem that there is someone taking care of the fish. The water inside of the aquarium was dirty and there were way too many fish inside the aquarium. The fish didn't look healthy at all. Secondly the price was quite steep and definitely not worth the experience.

This was the worst experience on our 2 week Norway trip, and the worst aquarium i have every seen anywhere. Let alone the fact that it is quite pricey for what it is (there are only about 20 small tanks). What disgusted us was how dirty the tanks were, inside an out. All very gross.

Lovely place and lovely staff (been there to have a drink and a good fish and chips)

A very disappointing experience. Many of the tanks did not have the fish/animals that were described. There was a dead fish in one of the tanks.

Really cute little aquarium. They don’t have a lot of jaw-dropping exhibits as it’s a small town, but it’s cool to go see the local fish and wildlife. It’s 75 NOK and they throw in an hour canoe/rowboat rental with your ticket which makes it totally worth it!

The rib boat tour to Finnafjorden is a must do when in Balestrand. Friendly and professional staff. Our guide Mons knew a lot about the history and wildlife. The trip takes about two hours and gives you breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The tour brings you to the end of the fjord where the steep mountains rise high above and waterfalls are the only sound you hear.

One of the highlights of our Norway trip was renting electric bikes in Balestrand and biking along the fjords! The sights were absolutely incredible and thanks to the boost by the electric bikes, we saw a lot in a short amount of time. They weren’t even much more expensive than the normal bikes. We biked from the shop in Balestrand along the Esefjord then to Dragsvik and finally along the Sværafjorden and back. We definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Balestrand. I want my own electric bike now!

Breathtaking views throughout the Songefjord. Feeling the spray of the waterfall was an added perk! Our guide, Lars, was funny and as a local to Balestrand, he was very knowledgeable about local history, architecture, and Nordic legends.

Our RIB boat tour was in one word: Amazing! The captain was very knowledgeable about the area and shared tons of stories and local legends, he even sang a folk song for us. This has to be one of the most beautiful and tranquil places I've ever been to. The views are stunning and the farm holds a lot of history. We did drive up rather than face the steep climb up. Amazing tunnel to drive through. There's a timetable in place - drive up on the hour, descend on half the hour. Well worth a visit. We were lucky! Had nearly an hour there savouring the peace and as we were leaving a coach load of tourists arrived! Enjoy!

Very steep but beautiful hike. You should walk uphill and take a lift by car downhill through the tunnel, because the walk down is harder than climb uphill. You don't need climbing gear in summer. There might be some nice people on the top who got there by car and mabye they can give you a ride back down. The way up is also as beautiful as the view from the top and there should not be as many tourists.

I'll never travel to Flam without this trip planner again
The Flam Railway, also known as Flamsbana, is a renowned train journey in South Norway that covers around 20 kilometers and offers breathtaking views of mountains, waterfalls, and valleys. Considered one of the most beautiful train journeys globally, it's a must-see when visiting this part of Norway. In addition to popular attractions like the Borgund Stave Church and Undredal Stave Church, the Flam Railway Museum is an intriguing stop.
Beautiful city and green place to live, lots of shop and vendor restaurant serving international and local food. It famous with the dolls called it Trolls, unique dolls with scary look and long nose.
You can do bike from the bike rental or just walking by your own. Is worth a place to visit although bit expensive.

A quaint, informative museum about the struggles, ideals, and practical reality of constructing a perilous mountain railway. If you think you'll like it based on that sentence, I guarantee you will. The old train, graceful and powerful, lies at the heart of the museum -- pay it a respectful visit.

Quite an interesting place to spend 20 minutes while waiting for the actual train to arrive. They provide a history of how the railway was made, and there is a lovely display of model trains.
They do also have an actual old train on display - it is roped off so you cannot climb on board, but you can still take photos with it.

A nice, sweet museum that describes the life of a tougher, rougher time of building the railroads for what is known to be one of the most beautiful train rides in the world. The back room gets a bit warm with no air conditioning. Located where massive cruise lines make their port calls.

Great little museum.
As we had some time to kill in Flam before our boat, it was an obvious choice to visit the museum.
Great little place. It is not huge and although there are plenty of items on display, it is the history of the railway that is fascinating. So much information that you get lost in time. Really worth it if you fancy some history and reading.

The museum is just steps away from Flam train station. You won't miss the bright yellow building.
This museum has a wonderful gift shop at the front and there are plentiful of displays of the Flåmsbana railway histories at the back. There is even a life size locamotive too! Beware of the opening hours. Free extrance!

The 20km of scenic railway started construction in 1924. It took 15 years to build and 70 years of planning to completion. There were 20 tunnels of which 18 were build by hands. The railway project was completed in 1940.

it is located right outside the station. From outside it looks small, but it's quite big inside. It is really worth seeing the engineering marvel. The exhibition shows how one of the steepest train route in the world was started and how over the years it was improved upon to its present condition. One has to see it to believe it. The old photos, articles and even old wagons are really worth seeing. The entrance is free. If you want to see in detail, then you you need 1/2 hours.
Worth seeing...

This museum is a true treasue. It's a beautiful, clean space with a free entry for everybody, inviting tourists to step in and explore the history surrounding the creation of the railway, which remains a the main attraction in the area of Flam. It not only delves into the railway's history but also provides insights into the daily life of that era.
At the entrance, there's also a souvenir shop where, along with your exploration of the museum, you can indulge in some tax free shopping. It is, indeed true, that it may appear small from the outside, the museum surprises with its spacious interior, featuring the highlight of an old train section at the back. Highly recommended if you're in the area, and just a 10-minute visit can be quite rewarding.

This little museum and souvenir shop is located right next to the cruise dock and train station. Entrance is free and it’s a good place to occupy some time. During our travels we did not come across too many souvenir shops so we were very happy to be able to load up on our refrigerator magnets, t-shirt, pocketknife, etc. We felt the souvenirs were a tasteful selection and decently well made. The cashier warned us to ensure we place the pocketknife into checked luggage when flying and provided us with the VAT tax refund paperwork and receipt. The museum part is worth a walk through especially since it’s free.

FjordSafari - Flam Guide Service AS is an outdoor activity organiser that offers boat, hiking and bike tours from Flåm village to the stunning Aurlandsfjord & Nærøyfjord. It is known for being a great spot for wildlife sightings such as seals and porpoises. The company provides thermal suits, gloves and other gear to keep guests warm during the fast-paced boat tours.
We had great weather and beautiful scenery, so it was difficult to go wrong, but even so Anna was such a contagiously cheerful guide that it would be impossible, even for an old Eeyore like me, not to enjoy the experience. The cheese tasting at Unredal was great too

We were lucky enough to take one of the extended safari trips in 2018, and even luckier to be able to do another on a recent stop off in Flam from our cruise.
I can't recommend this trip highly enough! The staff all speak excellent English and are friendly, welcoming, and professional.
The trips are safe, but fun, and you get to see some stunning scenery. You are well kitted out so no issue with getting cold or wet.
The rib drivers have excellent knowledge of the area and make the trips interesting and exciting.
If we are ever lucky enough to return to Flam in the future (preferably via a more environmentally friendly ship) then we will have absolutely no hesitation in booking a third trip!
Thank you to all concerned for a great experience. 👍 😊

Two amazing experiences today. First was a 3 mile (10km) hike to a beautiful waterfall. The guides, Paulina and Rose, were incredible, well versed in the history and so helpful and friendly. Overall, not a strenuous hike. Approximately a 525ft (160m) elevation gain.
The second experience was the speed boat ride through the Fjords with an amazing guide explaining the rice history. The views were spectacular, and they provide all the proper gear to protect against the cold and water. My only complaint is the speed boat of choice did not have normal seats, you have to straddle the seat sort of like riding a bull and it is not the most comfortable over a long period of time.

Speed boat in March, cold , wet, and fantastic. They dress you up nice and warm and it so much fun. Definitely worth braving the weather for. The cheese tasting in Undredal is gorgeous and Eric? I hope that's right, was very informative and interesting. Fantastic sights and super fun.

Five stars are not enough for the beauty of the fjord. It was such a magical ride. None of us wanted to get down at the end. Very pretty. Smiling staff. Plenty of comfortable seats inside and to stand outside as well. The journey itself is comfortable but the view is so beautiful...just like the wallpapers we see. ..you won't know how the time flew in the fjord...we also tried the cafeteria inside the fjord and the coffee and food was good.
Bit pricy but good.
We took a bus for our return because we wanted to explore gudvangen which was a good decision....you might take 3 -4 hours to see everything in the village which is also a don't miss kind of stop.
Worth each penny for this fjord. Definitely will go again!! Hope so!!

Incredible views out on the boat! We were concerned when we showed up to a rainy day in Flam for our fjord safari but the suit they give you does a great job keeping you warm. I’d suggest wearing tall warm socks since that’s the only spot not really covered by the suit.

We really enjoyed our experience cruising the fjords with Fjord Safari!! The crew equipped us with warm thermal suits, life jackets, and goggles before setting out. The boat ride is fun and exciting, and the guide is a wealth of information, providing detailed information about the area’s history and wildlife along the way. We stopped in a goat farm village and got to sample cheese and hot black currant juice. The weather held on our way out, and the scenery was just stunning. We returned to port just in time, as it started to rain. You don’t go quite as far down the fjord as we expected, but it you do get a lot closer to the edges and waterfalls than in any other boats. It was an amazing experience and I strongly recommend to any adventurous spirit!

Staff is amazing, and so well prepared on local history and interesting topics! For example, we discovered the brown cheese produced in Undredal… amazing!
The tour itself is excellent, the views are breathtaking!
They provide you with a warm, rainproof suit, a life vest and goggles to enjoy this adventure no matter the weather!
Strongly recommend.

Absolutely amazing.
This trip was the highlight of our time in Flåm , Ty was a fantastic tour guide and the scenery was stunning.
The service was well delivered, from the provision of the floatation suits to the instructions given and the journey itself.
We blasted along the fjords stopping regularly for an explanation or story about what we were looking at. The ride itself was entertaining and enjoyable, it seemed like everyone in our boat was having a great time.
Reading the reviews, yes the name says safari but this is just a nice name for a tour along the fjords and hey you might see an animal or two if your lucky. And again, if you’ve come via cruise your probably going to travel along the stretch you’ve already seen.
This is a fantastic experience and well deserves the 5 stars. We would even do it again if we ever returned.

Despite the rain, we had an amazing time on our FjordSafari. We booked this as part of the Norway in a Nutshell package and it was great to land in Flåm from Gudvangen and head back out to continue seeing the magnificent sits along the fjords! As other reviews mentioned, you get outfitted with tons of gear to keep you warm and dry, so even though it was raining, we had an amazing time and in many ways, that added to the charm!

They ran a friendly and efficient operation. Our guide, Paulina, made it fun and informative. She created an experience that was nicely paced with a very enjoyable flow of speed, calm, and stops for pics of beautiful sights. Highly recommend!

Excellent, well recommend to all over 14 yrs old . You have to get suited up ,for safety reasons. Cost £80 each approximately . Don’t buy off the Cruise ship much cheaper on shore. This was the highlight of my holiday. 12 persons per boat . Fantastic way to see the Fjords. Absolutely stunning views. Takes about 2.5 hours . The guide Olaf was great giving the history of the area. All clothing for the boat are provided, waterproof suit, life jacket, goggles and hat , gloves . Wrap up warm as well as it does get cold on the fjords. Definitely recommend this safari . They provided binoculars too .

Make sure to take the extended version of the tour as it's almost 2 hours v.s. just one and there's so much to see during this trip.. Also go to the toilet before getting on the boat as it's very cold on the water and the boat doesn't make any stops so as for you to get off the boat.
Flåmsbana is a scenic railway journey that offers stunning views of the Norwegian mountains and valleys. The vintage carriages ascend almost 1,000 metres through picturesque landscapes, including waterfalls and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Naeroyfjord. The journey also includes a stop at Kjosfossen Falls. Departing from Flam Harbour, visitors can take in the incredible beauty of the narrow fjords en route to Myrdal.
Was pretty cool! If you go in winter time, on the round trip from Flam to flam, don't go all the way up to the final stop at Myrdal, as everything is closed for the winter season. Instead, get off just one exit before, where there are open shops and a restaurant. Once you are up in Myrdal you are stuck waiting for nearly two hours until the train comes back down and you are not able to walk down to the previous stop, as you cannot cross the train tracks. Still was a lovely experience and the views were great.

The most beautiful train ride in the world. The scenery on this train is too magnificent to put into words and cameras just can't quite capture the beauty no matter how hard I tried! Definitely a "must do" if ever in Norway... I will definitely be back sometime in my life to experience this again.
Hot tip: For best views, if catching from Myrdal, sit on left hand side of train (right side if catching from Flåm). Also aim for a window that opens for best views and camera shots x

We disembarked from our boat tour through the fjords in Flam to catch the Flam Railway to Myrdal. The trains are retro and quite spacious. I was pleasantly surprised to discover flat screens featuring key points of interest (which were also narrated). We were thrilled to stop at a gorgeous waterfall for a fantastic photo opp (and cool surprise that I won’t spoil). Read up about all the twists and turns the train must make to navigate — it’s fascinating. The stop in Myrdal is also scenic. Well worth the trip.

Words cannot describe this train ride. It is something you have to experience. You already start with the beauty of the small town of Flåm, and things only get better from there. The train will meander its way through hills, valleys, and tunnels while gaining 800 meters of elevation. There will also be waterfalls galore to see on the way. Just incredible.

The Flåm Railway winds through Norway's stunning landscape, offering passengers breathtaking views of cascading waterfalls, lush forests, and snow-capped peaks. Each turn reveals another captivating vista, creating an unforgettable journey through the natural wonders of the Norwegian fjord region.

Amazing train journey from Flåm to Myrdal past some of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. The railway is an awesome feat of engineering being built by hand by 120 to 220 people over about 20 years. It was March when we visited and so a mixture of snow and greenery, but it would be great in any conditions. There is a stop at a huge waterfall which was frozen when we visited.

A journey through waterfalls, woods and mountains. A pleasant discovery came to Flåm..
The train is a bit old but very comfortable

The Platonic ideal of a sightseeing railway, winding from ridges of volcanic rock topped with glacial ice down to the crystalline beauty of the fjords. I appreciated the information provided on English, Norwegian, and German. The ride is steep but not uncomfortably so, and the train carriages themselves are classy and elegant. Note that it stops in front of a billowing, gushing waterfall, and there is the opportunity to get out and experience the forceful onrush of water as it's mist sprays your face.

Great place to reboot after a train or boat ride. Great outdoor seating for most of the cafes. Can't beat the view of mountains, fjord waters and when we were there in June, cascading waterfalls from the snowmelt.

Next stop on our Norway cruise. Unfortunately, our train excursion was canceled last minute, so we spent the day walking around. Met a very nice family from Switzerland. Flam is a beautiful place like everywhere else we've been in Norway.

Cute town. Cruise ship was docked which made it a bit of a challenge at some of the shops but it was a nice tourist location. Little expensive compared to others areas we went to on this trip. We came in on the ferry who’s showed a number of neat waterfalls and great scenery. This was a great end.

Took this train as a part of Norway in a nutshell. Nice train ride if you want to see all different parts of Norway, you start at sea level and then go up 800 meters of elevations. If you sit on the right hand side you get perfect views of everything in nature. Also cool to pick a seat where you can bring down the window. If you are looking for speed, this is not the way to go but if you area looking to take in sights, this is the way to go.

The 20 KM long Flam Railway trip has been the most scenic and beautiful train rides I have ever done. In fact the golden train trip in Switzerland can be placed next to this one. The wild and beautiful mountains, lush nature, breath taking waterfalls and fresh green farms mesmerize the nature lovers and transform them into a state of ecstasy where they forget themselves and feel in union with the nature.
The train passes through agricultural landscapes and Flam Village. There is about 5 minutes of break at the Kjosfossen waterfall where the passengers can get down to appreciate the beauty of the waterfall and capture their unique experiences in digital forms to make them memorable.
Another attraction along the way is the Flam Railway Museum. The museum displays an authentic El 9-locomotive along with various historical items, text, photographs and audio.
Overall, it will be a mesmerizing and memorable journey of your life.

Worth the trip from Oslo or Bergen! This wonderful scenic train is a dream... Enjoy the spectacular mountains and valleys, rivers and waterfalls, as well as a few historic villages and train stations.
The train has wide panoramic windows for taking in the views and a few windows in each car that open for photography.
The train is a dedicated track between Myrdhal station at the top of the mountain, about 2700', and Flam station at sea level on the fjord. The train stops on the.way up and on the way down at a magnificent waterfall.

The ride was really amazing. It's a 2 hr round trip. You can enjoy the view of mountains , waterfalls and snow, the train stops near a beautiful waterfall named 'Kjosfossen'. You can get down from the train and take pictures.
Flåm is a small area surrounded by mountains ,waterfalls and lakes. The place is so silent that you can hear birds chirping all the time. Around 300 people live there. It's very clean. If you love nature, then you should visit this place at least once.

Experienced the awe-inspiring Flåm Railway, a 20-kilometer journey from Flåm to Myrdal and back to Flåm in 20 June 2023. This marvel showcases Norwegian nature's beauty, with stunning tunnels and picturesque landscapes. Don't miss the Kjosfossen waterfall stop for photos. Operating year-round, the journey takes about an hour, timed to connect Oslo and Bergen services.

The train ride is a great experience!
We got the train from Voss to Myrdal then the Flåmsbana railway to Flåm. The train itself is in a vintage style which is what the tour is trying to achieve, however it does have toilets and plenty of space.
The scenery from the windows is amazing and there is a short stop at a waterfall on the way down. Here you can take pictures and watch the traditional dancer.
The railway is a fantastic experience but be warned it can be quite busy due to the cruise liners and other tourists coming to the area. At the bottom in Flåm the queues were quite large and we were glad we came the opposite way from Myrdal.

We took the train to Myrdal in July this year. It was a very fun and scenic trip. Many impressive waterfalls, one of which they stop at and let everyone get out and take pictures of. We had booked the zip line and bike trip back to Flåm, so we got out at the second to last stop. It was a bit of a walk to the zip line start. The view was beautiful and the zip line was a lot of fun. It was quite long but over fast. The bike ride back down was the highlight of our entire trip. If you are on the fence about biking, know it is definitely worth it! There are a few places where you need to bike uphill but most of the ride is downhill, so get familiar with your brakes. Despite being part of a group if about 20 or so, we ended up biking most of the way mostly alone. We would pass some groups, stop for pictures and get passed by them. It was fun, because you could choose when and where you wanted to stop. There were two restrooms on the way down, but neither had toilet paper, so pack some or be prepared to go without!

This was a really good ride with the Flamsbana! Be sure to give it a try when you are in Flam and enjoy the great view of the mountains and valleys on both sides of the trail. The waterfall is deeply frozen in winter and there are far fewer visitors than in summer, wonderful 👍

A spectacular 20 km railway from Flam to Myrdal, where it connects with the Bergen-Oslo railway. The round trip costs 500 NOK for adults and can be purchased separately from cruiseship or other excursions. There are steep steps to board the train - though ramps are available. It climbs about 3000ft from the valley floor and, depending on the time of year, you see waterfalls or ice. It is very beautiful - especially if you are lucky enough to get bright sunshine, as we did in early March 2024!

This was quite a charming train ride through snow clad hilly country, looking at the frozen waterfalls and the houses dotted about in the valleys.
There are a few stops along the way, where hotels are situated, before you arrive at Flam itself.
Seats are on a first come, first served basis, and the train can get crowded. We traveled up on the Easter weekend and it was quite packed, made worse by the previous day's derailment which meant we had to be bussed halfway to and from Bergen train station. This dampened our mood somewhat.
You board the Flam train at Myrdal station - due to the derailment, the Bergen bound trains were delayed, and it was very cold waiting outside the station as the hall inside was full.
It is expensive, but you should enjoy the experience at least once. Advance bookings are essential.

I rate 4 stars only because it might be slightly disappointing (also for its cost) after having started with the sheer beauty of Fläm itself. Nothing can improve from what you have seen from the top of the ship and then when landing. That's why this uphill train journey comes second no matter how nice it, nevertheless, is.

Beautiful train ride and definitely does the positive comments justice. We did it in winter, tends to be a bit more quiet, but the views were just as breathtaking.
Had a fantastic experience on Aurlandsfjord, despite some quite choppy conditions. Our amazing guide Bartek helped calm my nerves and gave us some very interesting local historical and archeological anecdotes. Would definitely recommend!!

This was a highlight of my Norway trip. Our guide was an expert and made sure to instruct all of us safely on land ever before getting on the water. Safety was his top priority at all times. My partner struggled to row and the instructor worked with him the entire time we were on the water. A great way to explore the fjords, but also embrace the calmness of nature on the water.

We did the Old Kings Path Tour, and had a great time. Our guide, Gosia, was perfect. It is her first season here, but it seems like she is a local. She told us many interesting stories about the place. Safety is taken very seriously. Kayaking gives us a unique view of the beautiful fjord, and the short walk to a cascade is very nice. I highly recommend this tour

We had such a great trip! All the communication in advance was super easy through phone and email. Sander was always willing to think with us about our optimal experience. We did an unguided 2 night trip which was insane. I can't overstate how beautiful the Fjords are when your in your kayak. Most beautiful place I've ever been!

We had a great time under the instruction of our guide Ervin. They were well equipped with gear I wasn't expecting, i.e. dry bags and even small pelican cases for cameras and phones. The trip was educational, our favorite story was about the Begonia sunken in the fjord. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

Fairy easy kayak tour for someone without experience. You get a clear safety briefing before going into the water. When we got there, there was barely any wind. However on the way back there was a lot of wind. Which made it a little more exciting but nothing to be afraid of. The tour guide was kind and experienced.

I had a great time! It’s not a raging party, but incredibly relaxing and beautiful. I went solo, so I was able to pair up with a new guide. He was lovely and just loved life! Oh, and the Irish guide was very informative and kind as well. He recommend the floating sauna afterward which was right on! What a great day in Flam!

The best summer experience/highlight of my summer in Norway!
I did 3 day kayak excursion on the fjords, with 2 nights wild camping on the fjord.
It was just magical 🤩
The tour guides were very knowledgeable about the area and kayaking. I felt comfortable and safe on the water. They provided all food and snacks and valid instructions about kayaking, tent pitching and other health and safety information.
You get kitted for the journey, so all you really need to bring is your own clothes, towel, toiletteries and positive attitude!
We stopped on the way, visiting Undredal village and Dyrdal and managed to squeeze two wonderful hikes with magnificent views!
The weather was really kind to us and fjord very calm, thus making this experience extra special!
The 2nd night camping spot was just extraordinary 😍
Thank you for this experience. I'm going to remember it for years to come! 💕

Me and my family went out on the fjord kayak tour today and it was amazing! Our tour guide Savanna was so lovely and made the trip so much more enjoyable. She was so knowledgable about all the history of the fjords and also kept it light and fun with some folk stories (the goats were such a funny surprise!). The equipment and all the gear was in excellent condition. The experience as a whole was one I will never forget and will always recommend to friends and family. Thank you so much to Savanna for hosting this experience, my family and I will always remember the day.

The scenery on the 3 hour kayak tour was beautiful. Highly recommend as an adventurous way to see the fjord. Even spotted a seal on the way. Our guide Barbara was a gem - friendly and informative. Removed one star because of the other staff member, Irish guy I think was called Conor. He was rude.

We had a fabulous time on the 3D2N tour through the fjord with our amazing guide Conner. It is a really good way to explore, appreciate the beauty of the fjord at our own pace. I really like how I wake up in the tranquility of the fjord on the first night and and fall asleep listening to the sound of the waterfall on the second. What more, our very fun, knowledgeable and organised guide takes superb care of our tummies. It is a truly memorable first kayak-camping trip of mine and I highly recommend!

It's 830kor for a single kayak and 750kor per person for a double kayak. These rates are for non tour groups and are good for up to 4 hours. Waters are very calm, so it's really safe to go out. Single kayaks have more chances of flipping over though.
Amazing service and information. Gabriela gave me so many good ideas for spending my time and recommended routes for cycling and hiking.
