St. Mary's Cathedral is a Catholic church known for its world-renowned bronze sculptures, exquisite Romanesque chandeliers, and an ancient rose that dates back to a millennium ago. The cathedral boasts of remarkable architecture that has been preserved since the 11th century, offering visitors the privilege to admire this work of art without any entrance fee or overcrowding. Despite being heavily damaged during WWII, its interior has been rebuilt with a more modern look but still retains its historical significance.
I love the Architecture. The way it is preserved for us to see and admire the work of Art from the 11th Century, is such a great privilege. No entrance fee. Not crowded. You have all the time to look at all those magnificent Chandeliers, the door, the Pillars etc.

A must visit, calm, free attraction. Beautiful church and piece of art.
Zoltán Nagy — Google review
Yes, difficult to review this one. The thought that it was being built 800 AD is fascinating. The restorations are hmmm. I would prefer benches, really. During my visit, they started to play classical baroque music. As much as I love classical music, it has no place in a Catholic Church, also it’s distracting while praying a rosary, there should be not played modern instruments. I really appreciate their talent, but everything has the right time and place, and a Catholic Church is not the same as a Protestant church, the catechism is clear about newer instruments inside the church. Well, but some corners are really beautiful here, even though I am not getting on good terms with the artstyle of the statues, the bigger heads are a bit irritating when used of normal sized statues. A huge old Cathedral with few content, I know small parishes with more art, thought, some of the figures are normal sized, they look really good, and the paintings with baroque-ish decoration were fascinating me as well. Benches would make a huge difference, really.

Very historic cathedral. Well worth a visit even thought the interior looks more modern as it was heavily damaged during WWII and rebuilt. Don't miss the courtyard and cloisters.

This church is definitely worth to be visited. It is one of the most beautiful sightseeing in the Hildesheim. It's a part of UNESCO world's heritage. Very beautiful inside. The church contains many interesting exhibits. It was a concert at the time I was there. The music and singing were amazing, I really enjoyed it.
St. Michael's Church, located in Hildesheim, Germany, is a remarkable example of 11th-century Romanesque architecture and is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church is renowned for its exquisite bronze doors crafted by Bishop Bernward and features a painted wood ceiling depicting the genealogy of Christ. The interior is bathed in natural light from all angles, enhancing the beauty of the structure.
Even if you're not Christian or not religious at all, you can't help but be in awe of the history places like these hold. And even more, of the architects and especially the workers who have created these buildings without modern technology. And it's still here. The city of Hildesheim luckily left some space around it, so that you can really enjoy and appreciate it in all it's beauty. Highly recommended if this is what you're interested in.

It was closed to public when I visited but the architecture is also worth admiring from the outside.

If it would be Catholic, nice, sadly they overtook the probably once even more beautiful place. But the crypt is still catholic, and also really beautiful. Protestants even today gladly could not erase Mary completely outside of the history.

Tripped over this on an accidental visit to Celle. Just stuck our nose in the door and we were so impressed with such a unique church.
In fact, we would put Celle above Hannover and Hamburg in terms of enjoyable tourist visits in the region. A pretty and relaxing town.
Ian Spencer — Google review
The Church of St. Mary in Celle is certainly one of the most spectacular Protestant churches in Germany. The vivid baroque stucco work by Italian master Giovanni Tornielle is a rare example of the North German baroque, and interesting for its almost Renaissance-like execution and the absence of a central object or clear direction, such as a fresco. Also worth visiting is the much earlier-composed high altar from 1615 with its transitional style and the extravagant baroque epitaphs of the House of Braunschweig-Lüneburg. Make sure to climb the tower and see the remarkable Renaissance planned-city of Celle from above.

The Bomann-Museum is a museum dedicated to the history, culture and traditions of Lower Saxony. In addition to showcasing permanent exhibits about the region's past and ancestors, it also hosts temporary modern art exhibitions. One such exhibit was the Star Wars Lego display which was executed with great attention to detail and accompanied by helpful staff. Visitors interested in learning about the area's settlement and ancestry will find this museum fascinating.
Very interesting museum with a lot of helpful information. Unfortunately, no information in English is provided. There are several sections in museum: archeological exhibits, how life in Celle region has been changing during several centuries, the history of migration in the region, the exhibition about life in the farm.
I really enjoyed my visit to this museum, but I would definitely recommend to add the information in English
Anna Nikiforova — Google review
My kid and I went to see the Star Wars Lego exhibit, it was extremely well done and the staff were extraordinarily helpful! Always a great time at the museum

The day we arrived it was snowing and we were welcomed in to the warmth of the museum. It was great and very educational for both my wife and I and also my kids, aged 10, 13 and 17.
We were lucky to be there on a free admission day and also be there with my wifes uncle as our guide.
I would recommend this museum to anyone that is interested in how areas were populated and how our ancestors lived.
Coming from Australia the depth of history through out Germany and Europe just bew us away.

Celle Castle, which has its roots in the medieval era but underwent a Renaissance transformation, is an ornate structure that boasts a lavishly decorated chapel and a Baroque-style theater. The castle's history is emblematic of Europe's architectural evolution over time, as it blends elements of Gothic and Renaissance design to create a unique style all its own. Visitors to Celle Castle can marvel at the intricate details adorning both the exterior and interior of this magnificent cultural landmark.
You can't miss this place if you're in Celle, the castle is pretty old and it looks interesting from inside, lots of art exhibition and, just exploring through yourself is nice but they limit the exhibition room that you can go, unless you choose to do the tour. Overall, it's full with history and infor about Kings and Queens.
Pasan Sensouk — Google review
Beautiful castle from outside, although it is not bug. It is very close from the old town. We didnt go inside as we didn’t have a lot of time. But, there is a toilet for people who need it. Free of charge. There is also other public toilet nearby, only like 100 m. From the castle, you can see a park with small like from above. Very nice for picnic.

Very interesting to visit.
There is a guided tour available for intensive history learning, but can also walk around for free.
There is an information center with a shop for souvenirs.

Magnificent monument. Ancient European architectural design and still beautiful as ever. When I say I love great monument, I have places like this so dearly on my mind. This castle is beautiful inside and out.
Chukwuemeka Duaka — Google review
Nice experience though the guided tours was only offered in German. It was a shame that we could not see the castle theater. There are activities in each area for the younger participants to keep them engaged while exploring the castle.
We used approximately 1.5 hours here.

A very simple yet beautiful castle in Celle.
Beautiful park around the castle. You just sit and enjoy the vibes. Autumn leaves make the surrounding more beautiful.

This castle looks so bare outside but because if it's beautiful spacious garden, it's architectural beauty was accentuated. Too bad i haven't had the chance to go inside because of coronavirus restrictions
Melvin Cubian — Google review
There's a lot of history and royal connections to be found here - enough to make your head spin - but it's an elegant palace and well worth a look. Like many similar sites in Germany at the moment, there's an anxiety about protestors (especially the ones secretly carrying spray paint, super glue, etc), so you'll need to leave your coats, bags, and rucksacks in the lockers before you start a tour. It's probably a good thing because the decorations and furniture in the royal rooms are exquisite and priceless.
Make sure you get to see the 15th century chapel (you need to be on a guided tour) it is stunning - one of the most important examples of Renaissance Art in northern Germany. Visitors can only view the interior through a glass wall, which maintains a stable dry atmosphere to preserve the works of art.

Beautiful place to visit, lots of green and space to enjoy nature. There is quite a variety of thing you can do around it. Biking, walking, jogging, bathing (on the assigned area), rowing one of their boats, visiting some of the restaurante that are around it or just enjoying the sunset. It’s a great point to relax, chill and have a good time. Not to mention that once a year they have the Maschseefest, which is really fun to visit. Definitely one of the most beautiful places to visit in Hannover with your family, friends or even by yourself all year long.
The Erlebnis-Zoo Hannover is a zoo located in Hannover, Germany that features a variety of animals from around the world. The zoo has a well-maintained breeding program for elephants and has a wide variety of animal habitats, including an area dedicated to winter activities.
Great place to visit. You have to plan such as you have a whole day to spend in the zoo. You can see a variety of animals and birds from across the globe. Good place to visit with family and kids. It is pet friendly. There are cafes, children's play areas, gift shops and toilets inside the zoo. There is boating through a water canal and it was a nice experience. The seal show was also good. Over all it was a great day
Arathi Variar — Google review
Beautiful zoo. Very natural animals, fit, well-groomed. Prices in the upper range with 70 euros for 3 people. The employees were consistently friendly. Parking was a 5 minute walk away. The playground is an absolute must for the children, so make sure you plan enough time! And in any case, DO NOT leave the zoo without having an ice cream 🍦 It tastes fantastic.
Aakash Christ — Google review
This zoo was such a disappointment. If you expect a serious conservational effort and educational experience, this is not the place for you. It is more of a thematic animal enclosure experience geared towards children amusement. Mini theme park for kids. They lack staff, and the animals lack proper climate controlled enclosures. They have a whole section dedicated to safari animals, and either they were hiding from the cold so you didn't see them at all, or they were huddled together shivering. It was a really sad sight; much pity for the animals.
Definitely don't visit during winter. Even in summer I'd think twice.. Fortunately the staff were kind enough to issue a refund.

This is a beautiful zoo! One of the best zoos I have seen so far. My favorite part of the zoo was the farm area. There is a huge jungle gym at the end of the zoo. My son had so much. I was able to spend the day here with my family and I can't wait to go back next time we are in town.
Nicole Ogertschnig — Google review
Recommend buying tickets a week or two in advance to pay half the price!
Zoo was amazing the animals seemed very happy and lively. You could even step into the inclosure with some animals.
The seal show was really worth the watch.
Spent a really long time here a whole day affair.
Not many restaurants open during the winter season so bring food!
Boat ride was a really addition
The online map isn't great and signposting could be updated but it was the best zoo I have ever been to.

Please come early! Take the boat 🛶 tour & make sure to watch the seals 🦭 show! 5 hours is the least time to enjoy this place ✨❤️! Theres bathrooms all around and kids play areas all around and a lot cafes and restaurants too inside the venue itself! And there is themed areas with their local kind of animals!! I loved seeing the happy elephants 🐘❤️❤️❤️🦅🐮🐯🦊

Very big , and beautiful I recommend going early so you have time to see everything. Big parking , ticket is a little bit expensive but it is worth it . Just an amazing zoo, the best one I’ve ever been! I have spent 5 hours there and still didn’t see everything, you must plan a whole day for it. The highlight of it is lion’s family with 3 cubs (born 20.02.2023). They were so cute playing with each other, their mom and even serious father. I just could not leave the spot watching them for half an hour. Unfortunately the glass you are watching through is scratched and opposite sun made it even worse to look and make pictures, but they were so close, just few meters away. Amazing experience! I liked thematically made zones, never seen something like that in other zoo’s. They have feeding hours for animals so you could watch and they tell you some facts about animals but unfortunately only in German. All signs and information are in German too. People say the price 27 euro is expensive but I think it’s totally worth it and you can actually have much cheaper price (15 euro) if you book few weeks in advance through internet. Must see in Hannover!
Anastasiia Kotiuzhynska — Google review
It is a lovely zoo and it is much bigger than it looks
So make sure to put aside a good amount of time to enjoy it properly
Ann Faust — Google review
I was disappointed as I felt I didn’t get my money’s worth. Most animals were either too far or in hiding. Cafes were closed and the boat ride was under maintenance. The zoo isn’t a handicapped friendly place at least for me personally. All animal descriptions & information was in German so as a non native speaker it wasn’t fun to google translate info about animals I wanted to know more info about.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Hannover Zoo, and I must say it was an incredible experience! The zoo is beautifully designed, with spacious and well-maintained enclosures that provide a comfortable habitat for the animals.
One thing that really impressed me about the Hannover Zoo is their commitment to conservation.
The variety of animals at the Hannover Zoo is truly remarkable. From majestic big cats to playful primates, there's something to captivate visitors of all ages.
In terms of facilities, the Hannover Zoo is well-equipped. There are several restaurants and snack bars throughout the park, offering a variety of refreshments and meals.
Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Hannover Zoo. It's not only a wonderful place to see a diverse range of animals up close. The dedication of the staff, the beautiful surroundings all contribute to an unforgettable experience.
Lander Bellens — Google review
Wonderful experience! We went on a Tuesday morning when it was not very crowded. There were groups of school children with their clipboards, studying different animals- that was pretty cool.
But, the zoo has a varied collection of animals, with some bot very common to zoos. They also had a petting area with cows and goats and sheep.
The Polar Bears are a beauty to watch.
Donae Walker — Google review
Very nice zoo with good parking possibility, restaurants and play grounds for children are available. The boat ride is amazing and in weekends, it may have around 15 minutes waiting time, which not that much, but worth to do it. For someone leaving around hannover, buying the annual ticket is better than the day ticket.
New Town Hall in Hanover is a beautiful, imposing building with great views of the city. It's also home to a bistro, which is a great place to enjoy the sights and sounds of Hannover.
It is a city hall and was opened 1913, after having been under construction for 12 years. It is a wonderfull, castle-like building of the era of Wilhelm II in eclectic style at the southern edge of the inner city.
Mousa Mousa — Google review
In every angle, this city hall will always deliver a photo perfect view. You can go inside and explore this architecture or go wander outside and walk around the mini lake. During summer, you will see a lot of people enjoying their time having picnic on the garden or chit chatting with their friends and loved ones.

Hanover New Town Hall is a building worth visiting for both history and architecture lovers. This time I looked for architectural lines in it that I had not seen before and this building surprised me again. Spiral staircases, columns, arches, doors, balustrades, the golden ratio, domes, ornamentation, reflections - these are just some of the things that this building delights, encourages discovery and engages. A visit here is a must when in Hanover. Today, the city municipality is located here, maybe that's why entrance without a tour is free. There is also paid parking at the town hall itself.
Paulius Skamarakas — Google review
This is a MUST in your list of places to visit in Hannover.
Unfortunately the access to the terrace and the 360 Panasonic view is currently unavailable because of COVID.
The entrance to the hall is free and you will get surprised by some city representations (after the war, back in the earliest 20s, currently..). It's a beautiful visit.

The New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) rises with its beauty in the center of Lower Saxony capital just by a small pond and big Maschsee Lake.
It's the seat of Municipal government being built in the early 20c, replacing the old medieval Town Hall which is in Altstadt (old town).
Visiting is totally free except climbing the Dome. Amazing and rich in details architecture both, outside and inside.
Most interesting I found four big and precise models of Hannover over ages.
The first is from 1689 as a fortified medieval town. After that two models from 1939 and 1945 show the city before and after WWII when it was totally demolished, and finally the fourth one represents the modern and prosperous city of today.
Free to visit are also terrific mosaics on the first floor.
Climbing the Dome is paying few Euros, but problem is the waiting time (in our case over an hour) so we didn't make it
Dejan Braki — Google review
In the new town hall you can go inside and see some models of the old town. But for me the beauty on the outside is the most important thing, and it's very well done.

A great place … the central hall was pointed out to us buy a member of the tourist information. He also recommended a book The Red Thread . Which then had us on a tourist route , great help and well worth the 3€.
The main reason for visit was to ascend the (not straight)lift to the top of the tower , absolutely fantastic and views were as you would expect perfect.
Billy Skipper — Google review
Stunning building with a viewing deck on top of the dome! Only 6 people can go up at a time so there’s a bit of a waiting time but you can stay as much as you want and admire Hannover from above! There are three viewing platform levels that offer a full panoramic view of Hannover.
Christian Laurio — Google review
It is a wonderful Townhall. The building is excellent. The problem is definitely going up with the lift as it is only restricted to 6 people and we have to go to the third floor to take a lift. The waiting time is unfortunately too long. You can buy a ticket for four euro per person at the entrance.

Very nice Rathaus. But still I believe the one in Hamburg is nicer 😁 apparently you can go up and take photos from the top the city. But it is currently closed and opens in spring again
Neda Nahid — Google review
Just the symbol of Hannover! The most beautiful Rathaus I have ever seen. The location near lake makes it even more magnificent. It is worth to go to the observation desk - views are breathtaking and it costs only 4 euro. The unique elevator which takes you to the roof is very interesting too. The only thing is that you have to wait to get there as it only takes 6 people per ride. But totally must visit place. 👍

The New Town Hall of Hanover is an absolutely stunning and historic building that is not to be missed. From the moment you set eyes on it, you are struck by its grandeur and beauty. The distinctive clock tower is a true highlight, and the views from the top are breathtaking.
The inside of the New Town Hall is just as impressive as the outside. The grand hall is a true work of art, and the council chamber is a testament to the history and tradition of Hanover. The various other rooms are also worth exploring, and the guided tours are a great way to learn more about the building and its history.
But the New Town Hall is more than just a beautiful building - it is also a thriving hub of activity. It is home to the Hanover city government and is used for administrative purposes, and it is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Whether you are looking to learn more about the history of Hanover or just want to enjoy a cup of coffee in a beautiful setting, the New Town Hall has something to offer.
Overall, the New Town Hall of Hanover is an absolute must-see. It is a beautiful and historic building that is sure to impress anyone who visits. Don't miss out on the opportunity to explore this amazing landmark.

Nice historical building. Tower was closed, but should be a 5 star when the tower is open again. Historical 3d models of town from 1680, 1939, 1945 and today was really nice to see.
The popular meeting spot in Hannover known as "under the tail" is a common gathering place for locals. While not extraordinary, it holds significance for residents as a recognized reference point. The shopping experience in the city's mall was satisfactory, but those seeking Rimowa products would be disappointed to find none available and would have to venture to Hamburg instead. In terms of cultural landmarks, Ernst August stands out with its historical importance and significance within the region of Hannover.
The equestrian statue of Ernst August of Hanover on Ernst-August-Platz in front of the main train station is certainly one of Hanover's landmarks. Every child in Hanover knows, if not the monument or the rider on it, then at least the meeting point “Unterm Schwanz” (see picture).
The bronze monument dates from 1861 and shows the then king in a hussar uniform.
From the monument you have a good view through Bahnhofstrasse onto the Kröpcke and into the “Niki de Saint Phalle Passage” (creator of the “Nanas”), the former passerelle.
A bit of background: From 1814 to 1866 there was actually a Kingdom of Hanover, the area of which was roughly the same as today's Lower Saxony (including Braunschweig, Oldenburg and Schaumburg). The ruler was the House of Hanover, a branch of the Guelphs. By the way, these were also kings of Great Britain and Ireland. However, they were not particularly popular with the British. The most famous person from the Guelph family was Queen Victoria, the legendary ruler of the British Empire.
At the turn of the millennium, another Ernst August caused very negative headlines with peeing and beating. His son, Ernst August, is of course the hope of the Guelphs.
Two not entirely serious (-August) comments:
- In the 1980s, there was once an amateur stonemason who added a 96 to the words “King of Hannover” in a reference to Bundesliga club Hannover 96.
- The inscription “The people loyal to the father of the country” did not come from a copywriter from Gelsenkirchen…
Definitely a must on a city tour.

Now on the square around the monument there are houses where you can drink mulled wine, eat sausage or something sweet. The choice of food is not great, places where you can sit down, very little. Prices are too high

A statue of the Hannover King Ernest Augustus. Located just near the entrance to the train station.
A popular meeting point among locals.
Stairs down to the Niki-de-Saint-Phalle-Promenade shopping mall are located just near the statue.
Irina Kravchuk — Google review
This monument stands in tribute to Ernest Augustus, a fifth son of George III of Great Britain who was fortunate to rise to the throne thanks for Salic law that barred women from inheriting the throne.
The monument is a larger than life equestrian statue of the king in the uniform of the hussars in reference to his 15th The King's Hussars officers of the British army with whom he had served.
The monument literally stands in front of Hanover Central Station and along with the station, dominates the public square in which it stands.
Good luck trying to get a good photo of this monument for all the people using it as shade from the sun or just a place to rest on.

Hanover's Old Town is a beautiful area to wander around on foot, and one of its landmarks is the Leineschloss palace, which was redesigned in neoclassical style between 1817 and 1842. This former royal residence of Duke George von Calenberg is now the home of Lower Saxony's parliament.
The Leineschloss (English: Leine Palace), situated on the Leine in Hanover, Germany, is the former residence of the Hanoverian dukes, electors and kings. Currently it is the seat of the Landtag of Lower Saxony. The first building on the site was a Franciscan friary, constructed in about 1300, which was abandoned in 1533 after the Protestant Reformation. In 1636, George, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, began construction of a rather small late renaissance palace on the site as his residence. Elector Ernest Augustus had it enlarged and modernized and added a theatre in the late 17th century. In 1742 the north-west wing was renewed. Between 1816 and 1844, the architect Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves fully re-built the palace. The column portico with six Corinthian columns was built during this period.
During World War II, the Leineschloss burnt out entirely after British aerial bombings. King George I of Great Britain was originally buried in the Chapel of the Leineschloss, but his remains, along with his parents', were moved to the 19th-century mausoleum of King Ernest Augustus in the Berggarten of Herrenhausen Palace after World War II. Architect Dieter Oesterlen re-built the palace between 1957 and 1962.
In August 2016 bones were found in the Leineschloss during a renovation project; it was believed that the bones were the remains of Philip Christoph von Königsmarck, the lover of the wife of the later king George I of Great Britain who was killed there in July, 1694. However, subsequent tests proved that some of the bones were from animals, while the human bones came from at least five different skeletons. None have been proven to belong to Königsmarck.

Location with amazing view where you can make beautiful pics.
Herrenhausen Gardens is a vast and ornate 17th century garden in Hannover, Germany that is home to one of Europe's tallest fountains and an open-air theater. The gardens are renowned for their beauty in spring and summer, and are also popular as a tourist attraction.
It is a great museum out under the sky. The visitors can see a well planned large park with a system of fountains. They are 10 - 12 huge fountains and ten smaller ones. Around 32 statues from Greek mithology decorate the main garden. Fantastic! Beautiful ! Stunning place !
Daniela Bankova — Google review
Loved it, the Garden was really nice. The only thing I think that they can improve on is the fact that most items in the museum are in German. Here's the catch, not everyone speaks German. So if the have the souvenirs that read in English or the books about botanical garden translated in English for those who can't read nor speak the language that would be awesome. Overall a really nice place to visit with kids, could be use for educational purposes. Well maintained.

Nice place for nature lover. Good and big place. There is entry fee but for students there is offer, which is around 1-2 euro.so it's best for students to travel.
Daxit Lodaliya — Google review
There is an entry fee. If you go during Monday to Wednesday that fee is less, if you are a student from Mon-Wed it costs 1,50 but during the other days it is 4,50 maybe more, depending whether you want to go to the museum or not (which is closed now).
I would advice any person that goes wants to go there to go during spring/summer time, as in winter time there’s no flowers and everything looks a bit dead.
Apart from that, it is such a beautiful place and it has a lot of history.
Karol Giraldo — Google review
There is always a reason to keep coming back here, the gardens are just so beautifully designed and well maintained. Keep your eye out for events over the festival period, makes a great location to take in some culture. Really to get money's worth from admission price, pack a picnic basket and spend an afternoon inside.

Very large and nice gardens, which were made by Kings of Hanover. Entrance fee 8 Eur, parking 5 Eur

Extensive gardens on a monumental scale. The layout is symmetrical and there are many garden rooms you can visit including the re-creation of a Rococo and Baroque garden. Much statuary and many fountains as well.

Really beautiful Garten. We went there on last Friday. Unfortunately the flowers are still blooming.

Nice park to walk around. There are some interesting statues and fountains. I think it’s worth getting the combo ticket that includes Berggarten and Herrenhauser.
Cristina Pocol — Google review
One of the nicest places in the region of Hannover. Notes: avoid noon time visits because the fountains stop watering; bring some snacks/drinks for a picnic. I rated 3 stars by comparing it to gardens in other European countries but if you live or are passing by Niedersachsen it’s definitely worth visiting in summer/spring.
Rodrigo Costa Araújo — Google review
A very large Baroque-style garden lined with well-trimmed trees and marble statues. Not all the flowers were in bloom, and the ponds were not super clean. Not crowded nor noisy; a great place to relax.
This family-friendly tourist attraction covering marine creatures from close to home to faraway tropical destinations is one of the top attractions in Hannover. With 37 pools and tanks housing some 3,500 different sea creatures, there's plenty of opportunity for close-up views of some amazing creatures. In addition to fish and turtles, the museum also houses crocodiles, stingrays, octopuses, sharks, and a wide variety of tropical fish and turtles.
Nice aquarium, kids will love it. You will have one and a half hour of good time. There is a good connection with the train to the center so you can leave your car there parked.

It was very busy so we weren’t able to see everything whilst we were there. The entry fee is also quite expensive for how much time you actually spend in there, but I also feel like it was more catered towards families with kids. The place is still very nice and clean and there are some fun things to do for kids. Also, buy tickets in advance as that saves you 2 euros!

I highly recommended this place if you are planning to go somewhere fun & educational activities with kids. The place is small but it’s ok.

If you're looking for a fun and educational activity for the whole family, Sea Life Hannover is a must-visit. This aquarium is beautifully themed like a ship, with different fish and sea creatures to discover at every turn. It's the perfect spot for small kids and big families alike, as there's something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the things I appreciated about Sea Life Hannover was the relaxed pace. It's definitely not a place to rush through - take your time exploring each aquarium and really soaking in the experience. You'll be amazed at the variety of creatures you'll see, from colorful tropical fish to fascinating sea turtles and even sharks!
Overall, I highly recommend Sea Life Hannover. It's a great way to spend a few hours, and the educational value is a bonus. Kids will love seeing the different sea creatures up close, and adults will appreciate the attention to detail and beautiful theming. So take your time, enjoy the experience, and have fun!

It was a very exciting experience for kids and as well as for parents. The place has wide species of aquatic habitants… The best part was walking under a huge glass chamber which was contained with big fishes and turtles. The crocodile was a good surprise… The best place to visit in Hannover in any season.

Nice place to visit. But little expensive. Small area to explore. Before going one should check online the booking slot. It is recommended to book before 3 days atleast. Small kids will definitely enjoy. There are different shows organised in different time. So if one want to see particular show such as meal time for crocodile or insect show, one should check the website before. I was expecting bit more from this but anyways it's ok. It took usually one hour to see everything completely. Shows may have 20 min extra time slot. Altogether 2 hrs time is good.

Tanks. A real eye opening education into the strong character required to operate these claustrophobic steel monsters. We were fortunate enough to hear some tanks engines being fired up.The noise is deafening. You also do not realise the size of a King Tiger until you stand next to it.I had the opportunity to sit in several examples.Tight space, not for the faint hearted .I feel privileged to see and learn about these things most people have never experienced

Featuring one of the largest collections of tanks, the museum is both fun and educational!
They feature many different tanks from different eras, and can answer most tank related question from memory.

Very good exhibition of most of the German tanks through times. Impressive and well worth a visit
Today the electronic payment system was down so remember to bring cash
Tina Hollner — Google review
There are more tanks and other vehicles than I thought. I took over 200 pictures. Every vehicle has a little info board with it and sometimes also a video, which gives you a bit of general information in german and english.
One of the tanks outside can be entered in the commander's seat or whichever seat that was, not too much to see but it's definitely a nice experience overall, took us 4 hours but it definitely takes less time when you're only reading some of the information provided.

If you are interested in tank history or WWII & WWII, this is an outstandingly curated museum. It’s partially translated in English so you will want Google translate app available although I understand they will soon have English audio tours available. It’s and easy 2-train trip from Hamburg (via Uelzen) and we walked the 18 minutes from the train to the museum.

Well worth a visit if you’re interested in history or technology. The evolution of tanks through the 20th century, the reason specific models were conceived, and the stories of the men who operated them is truly awe inspiring

One of best collections ever arranged in one place. II WW is so solid and nearly nothing is missing from entire tanks sellection. Only small misnu for how cool motorbikes are shown, at the very end poor old boys place against wall. Could be better done.

Having visited the area before but not made it to the museum. I was thrilled to finally get to visit. The price for entry was reasonable especially on the basis of the wide array of tanks to view. There were tanks from the First World War through to modern times and from many countries. Also, bikes, cars and armoured vehicles. A real treat and very pleased to have visited.

Fantastic museum with a great selection of tanks. The information boards are in German and English and are superb. Additional historic information is given to specific historic events. Very very good place to visit if you like tanks!
Stopped here on our way from Sweden to Stuttgart and it was well worth every penny.
And it costed us 10€ per person, which is very cheap considering the amount of vehicles and history in here.
Will return again if I am ever passing by!
Gandalf — Google review
Lots to see for all that enjoy looking at armoured vehicles through the ages.
There is a large selection of vehicles, though not all of the descriptions are in English, but this should not deter you from visiting.
There are tour guides available that may accommodate other nationalities that don't speak fluent German, but you should check in advance.
Although the shop and cafeteria is small, it serves the purpose of selling refreshments and gifts.
Depending on how quickly you want to visit I would give 1-2 hours to see all the exhibits.

Modern open-air plaza housing factory outlet stores from well-known brands, plus a handful of cafes.
Limited stores, but most of the stores have good collections and not too crowded . So you got enough time to choose 😊. Mobile internet doesn’t work as the network signal too bad or none sometimes. I guess they will try to improve this.

My visit to the designer outlet in Soltau left me feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. While the promises made about the shopping experience were exciting, the reality fell short. The collections available were largely outdated and last season's items, which was disappointing. Additionally, the prices often proved to be less than feasible, making it difficult to find true value for money. Overall, I was left with a sense of unmet expectations and would caution others who are seeking a worthwhile designer shopping experience to consider alternative options.

Thrill & family rides in amusement park with themed areas, plus huge, wooden roller coaster.
Fantastic experience just amazing time to spend a day there. After pandemic this amusement park is now open to public and masks are not compulsory but recommended. There is attraction for all ages. The adventure rides are very well designed and safety seats on each one is very firm and secure so one need not panic when seated inside any of those rides. Ticket prices are reasonable and you also get and yearly pass if one is interested.
Overall it's a very good location to spend a day which is less than an hour drive from Hamburg.

I really want to give a five star. One star minus is simply because it’s not enough time for a big amusement park like this. 6 o’clock in the evening is too early to close! Ideally 10. Maybe 8? Otherwise it’s a perfect family attraction. We had a five year boy with us and we didn’t take a break except lunch and an ice cream. Still we didn’t have time for everything we wanted to do. Please if possible in the future extend the opening hours. Thank you!

Great amusement park for the whole family. Tickets and parking has to be bought online in advance! We did a lot of the regular rides, 'cause our kids are 5 and 8, scared of roller coasters. Bring drinks and food! Waiting times were fine. We loved the show 'Dragon eye and swords' - amazing!!

Cute park and one really great roller coaster. The wooden roller coaster was the best. All others were rather short and didn't meet my expectations. Still happy that we visited, it's a great park, just doesn't compare to Europapark or American theme parks. If you lower your expectations, you'll have a great time.
Mostly, it bothered me that the rides were so incredibly short, most were about one minute or less. Still, as I said, great park for a day trip or family trip, just don't compare it with the big parks or rides elsewhere.

Best amusement park that I've seen so far. Many playground equipments with different levels for children, family, youths ... Everything is organized and tidy. Just have in mind in thrilled category, you need to wait around 30-60 minutes in line per equipment. So better to plan and be there from morning and opening time to enjoy most of equipments

I spent a full day trying out all the rides and really enjoy all, but toxic garden.
There is many options for kids above the age of 12 years (and above 140cm) for smaller children it is a bit restricted, bit there are still a few fun rides.
My favourite are
1. Scream free fall tower.
2. Krake (Roller coaster) good adrenaline rush even if a bit short.
2.flug der dämonen
3. Colossus
4. Desert race
For smaller kids
1. Wildwasserbahn
2. Indie-blitz

Great place to enjoy a day. Salt swimming pools are incredibly warm and pleasant, swimming pool is a bit small for a crowded day but perfect for a normal weekday. Nice place, good facilities. Standard swimmingpools. Good warm water area.
bennie kopatz — Google review
In general the place looks nice, not overcrowded or busy. There are different pools and sauna. But the water is cold. In the website it says it is 30 degrees but in the building the temperature is not showed. Inside is warm but the water in the pools is cold in general. Also, the pool outside is not working. I don’t know if it’s because of the energy crisis in Germany but I don’t think the water is suitable for swimming in winter time (especially for children). The food was good and not expensive. The staff is friendly and very nice. I don’t think I will visit again because I came for swimming but left because it was not warm and it is supposed to be a Therme. I come from the crown of the spa - Velingrad in Bulgaria and that it is why I had higher expectations. Unfortunately they were not met and I was disappointed.

Great place for spa and sauna, pool, swimming. Thermal bath could be warmer, 55 or more. I felt it cold. Sauna place had 6 different rooms and cold water pools. Excellent sauna facility. I enjoyed my stay there

My second visit here, but it is safe to say I have been to much better thermespas. The lack of a warm pool (within the spa area) or a jacuzzi is disappointing. I'm not sure if the whirlpool was kept off due to the energy crisis in Germany?
Great choice of Saunas however, unfortunately missed the Aufguss.

Really nice place, everything is new and clean. Swimming pool is not very big, I suggest going on less frequented hours if you want to swim. During normal opening hours there is just one lane reserved for swimming.
Instructions for tourists like me, so you won't get any annoyed receptionist look: you are given a wristwatch shaped chip that you scan at the different areas entry point. It is used for lockers, too. You'll then pay at checkout for the areas and time you stayed in. Quite convenient, I must say.

The swimming pool is normal, the spa area is excellent! A variety of saunas both interior and exterior, and a good size Turkish bath.
Worth it for that!

I was very pleased with this "Spa". The parking lot is big and not far from thr actual entrance. It has a little store with towels and bathing suits for people who don't have one, but they are a big expensive in my opinion. The prices are OK, is worth the money. The best part is going to the outside pool at night with a very cold weather, it's a fantastic experience.
This tiny artificial lake island is the site of the 18th-century Wilhelmstein Fortress.
A beautiful nice little island which you should have seen when you are visiting the Steinhuder Meer.
It takes a short boattrip from Steinhude oder Mardorf to get to the island. The skipper will tell you some facts and stories about the island its self and all the small little things which happened here.
For example was one of the officers, fighting against Napoleon, educated here. That abakut three hundred years ago but you can still visit the castle and walk on historical steps
The rooms are small but cozy. Clean and, especially in hot summers, quit chilly.
We loved it there.
After 18:30 the island gets empty as all tourists who do not sleep in one of the 6 rooms, will have to catch the last ferry.
After that the island is more or less yours! The sunset is breathtaking and the little dinner the, serve is delicious.
So, if you want to calm down and have a brilliant stay on "your", island : defnitly go there!

Ich empfehle das escape in Nienburg wirklich jedem der Spaß am Rätseln hat.

(Translated by Google) Today we went to Escape Nienburg as a group. In the detective room. The reception was very friendly and everything was explained well to us. If there were difficulties, assistance was provided. Thank you for the great experience. Can only recommend it. It was also really fun for “older” people between 45 and 55 years old.
I'll try the dungeon room. I'll be back....

Love this place. It's lively with helpful happy and chatty barstaff. If you know a little German it goes a long way here. It's Monday evening and 18 years since I last visited.

Unbelievable, come to a bar in the afternoon and we're the only customers, only to be told that we're too loud because the kids are playing. Time to move to the next, more welcoming bar.
Child-friendly amusement park, with rides & model dinosaurs plus live magic shows & a petting zoo.
if you're neither looking for crazy rides nor a theme park that pretty much yells "I was made in 2023! I'm super modern! Look at me how shiney I am!", then you should go to this theme park if you're into 'vintage' parks. This park is a bit on the older side of life but made with so much detail and love.
My friend and I are always coming back because it just makes you feel "at home". Nostalgic classic rides, nostalgic colors .. love it! Also, it's great for smaller/younger kids, not so much for teens who usually want to go on fast rides ;) it's definitely worth it (as an adult) to come here in the late afternoon for a price reduction

Great fun park for young kids. Plenty of carousels, some faster, some slower. There is also a fairy tale walk where different fairy tales are presented.

It's such a shame that this park is not well organized. We visit the park 4 person on a Saturday afternoon. We waited at one food station 1,5 hours, finally when we arrived in front to order the electronic sistem was broken so they start to close. We went to the next food station were we waited for 4 pizza 1,5 again, because there was working only one boy who was sooooooooooooooo slowly... It was like a bad joke. So we lost 3 hours only waiting in the lines for food. For 81 euros 2 adults and 2 kids IT WAS NOT WORTH IT! Never again we will come here and we don't recommend. Shame for the animals, this was the only nice thing here.

It was a very nice place and a fantastic entertainment park for kids. I have deducted one star because I noted lack of staff. Partly one single person was responsible for 3 vihechel. And in the fairytale forest the recording were extremely quite? One could hardly say what they said

Great wee place to take the kiddos. I wouldn’t recommend fir kids over the age of 12-13 they could get bored but the wee ones will love it!! You can also bring your dogs as long as you keep them on a leash and they are used to crowds!

This place is thought for the youngest of the family, although at the end we all had fun. The price is a little high, especially for the less younger, although we went so many times to the roller coaster and the giant slide that we covered it by large. A little short if personnel and some attractions need some maintenance as negative aspects.

The park offers a lot of activities to do, however something is missing in the atmosphere and some areas look old/abandoned

It was breathtaking and beautiful. The softest whisper echoed around the cathedral. The ancient relics were fascinating.

The place is pacifying. Everything is organized. There is a big void inside the Dom. You can see the statue of stoneman and there is a story behind how he stuck there. One of the nice places of beautiful Verden to visit. You can ask anyone for a help.
Bürgerpark is a well-known park in the city, but don't overlook Wallanlagen Park in Am Wall. This park is home to Muhle Am Wall, a charming windmill transformed into a cafe and restaurant, offering another delightful spot to savor a beer. It's an idyllic place to relax under the sun. While Bürgerpark has many beautiful spots, it's worth exploring both parks to find your own perfect patch of grass.
The Schnoor Quarter is a historically rich neighborhood located in the heart of Bremen, Germany. The narrow alleyways and century-old buildings are reminiscent of medieval times, and make for a picturesque outing. There are also several shops and cafes located here, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or evening.
An absolutely beautiful and old part of Bremen. The Schnoor is my favourite part of this city. Here you can see some very cute and narrow streets. In the area you can find, handcraft shops, coffee shops, and restaurants. Bremen's oldest district is a must visit for anyone visiting Bremen.

A pleasant walk between small houses painted in colors and having some small ornaments, sculptures, statues in between. It's the details that make it interesting, but you should also dive in the small street leading from central square/Roland to the river. It also has interesting surprises.

You have to see it for yourself, photos only make it look quaint, being there in person makes you realize just how special it really is! It seems to always be busy except for between midnight and 7:00 a.m., there are always people walking and exploring, it's a special place!

Super cute nieghborhood with medieval or for Harry Potter fans Hogsmead vibe 😊 While I was wandering the streets I felt like I time travelled to another century. The area definitely well preserved.
I went there on the weekend. It was crowded and be mind that some streets are real narrow. But I can easily say that this is a must see place when you're visiting Bremen. For some Lucky moment I get to capture the streets empty, hope you like them 😊

The old city is amazing reminded me of my hometown.
It was a warm visit regardless that weather was freezing

The time spent here was amazing. It was like I've travelled through time. The narrow cobblestone path and beautiful tiny buildings of medieval architecture makes this place the attraction of Bremen. It brings some kind of nostalgia. There are few Cafes, shops, interesting art galleries etc in this street, though a simple walk through here is more than enough.

The cathedral, also known as the St. Petri Dom Bremen, is a large and impressive building that has been around for over 1,200 years. It features a mix of styles from Romanesque to Gothic and even some bits of later Gothic Revival. The two 89-meter tall towers on top are particularly noticeable.
It’s a very big and beautiful church.
They don’t ask for anything in the entrance (like covid tests)
It’s such a majestic building from the outside, and if you go to Bremen not only it’s a must see but you will most likely find it, since it’s close to the city center and the town hall and other buildings are also there.

Museum is well made, interesting and home to multiple ancestral fabrics and clothing pieces (first time seeing authentic clothes from bishops). I would have appreciated more texts in English in the museum.

Title: A Tranquil Oasis of History and Spirituality
Review:
My visit to St. Petri Dom in Bremen was an unforgettable journey through time and spirituality. This majestic cathedral, with its towering spires and serene ambiance, stands as a testament to the architectural and spiritual heritage of Bremen.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of peace and reverence. The interior of the cathedral is awe-inspiring, with its stunning stained glass windows casting a kaleidoscope of light across the ancient stone, and the intricate carvings that adorn every corner telling stories of faith and history.
The highlight for me was the crypt, which offers a tangible connection to the past, housing historical artifacts and tombs that date back centuries. It's a humbling experience to walk through these ancient spaces, feeling the weight of history around you.
Another memorable experience was climbing the South Tower. Although it requires a bit of effort, the panoramic view of Bremen from the top is breathtaking and well worth the climb. It offers a unique perspective on the city and its surroundings, one that stays with you long after you've descended.
The tranquility of the Dom's surroundings, with its beautifully maintained gardens, provides a perfect spot for reflection and admiration of the cathedral's exterior beauty. It's a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city.
Visiting St. Petri Dom is not only a spiritual journey but also an exploration of art, history, and architecture. The cathedral's staff and volunteers were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, ready to share insights and stories that enriched my visit.
In summary, St. Petri Dom in Bremen is a must-visit for anyone looking to delve into the city's rich history, appreciate Gothic architecture, or find a moment of peace in a bustling city. It's a place that leaves you with a sense of awe and a deeper understanding of Bremen's cultural and spiritual heritage.

Very big old gothic church with tall towers. The cathedral is dark in colors and has a bit dark atmosphere inside it as well. That's why I didn't feel comfortable there.
From the right to the cathedral entrance there is a very interesting Bible garden with plants mentioned in the Bible.
Just near the entrance there is an equestrian statue of Bismarck.

Beautiful and full of history! I enjoyed examining all the art inside, stone statues, and the doors of the Dom. I think it’s a must-see sight in Bremen, although it is very hard to miss. I would recommend attending any event they have there, such as the Bremer Orgelsommer! Even walking around inside and sitting on a pew is very peaceful.

Historical and beautiful. Mass was in German, and though I am not fluent, I could feel the message. St. Petri Dom is a sight to be seen. The Priest spoke with a way that invoked me to reflect upon my family and my life. It is truly a meaningful, beautiful, and historical place to worship.

Be sure to try local traditional dishes and beers. You will enjoy the time you spent in this beautiful city.
Bremen's City Hall is one of the most beautiful civic buildings in all of Europe, and it has earned UNESCO World Heritage status. The building was originally built in the Brick Gothic style in the 15th century, but was later renovated into a Renaissance-style structure in the late 16th century. Today, you can marvel at the intricate stonework and statues on the building's facade, as well as on its Market Square.
Such a beautiful and old town hall. Inside and out, this building is just amazing. The entry fee is €9 per person.
