The top stops along the way from Umea to Stockholm (with short detours) are Uppsala Cathedral, Tom Tits Experiment, and Furuviksparken. Other popular stops include Norra Berget friluftsmuseum, Gamla Uppsala, and Strandvillan's Café.
Elk House, located 70km west of Umea near Bjurholm, offers a unique opportunity to encounter the majestic moose up close. Visitors can explore a museum and watch video explanations about the life of a moose. The site also features a small dairy producing rare moose cheese, known for its high price. Guests can enjoy elk cheese and moose meatballs at the on-site cafe/restaurant and purchase tickets to meet the moose in person.
An excellent place to see elk close up. Seen so many in the wild but never been able to get as close as at the Elk House. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

Summary: I’m glad I did this experience, as there’s no other place you can safely meet moose or their young and pet them; however, it was quite expensive and the museum wasn’t in English.
Details: when arriving at the Elk House, you enter into the cafe/restaurant that serves elk cheese and moose meatballs, they have toilets available for free use and you can buy tickets for the museum/to meet the moose. They were >£20.
We then went straight out into the big field to meet the adult moose. Their antlers were massive, and it was incredible to be so close to such large beings. You can get close, stroke then, get photos with them etc., but like horses, don’t get close behind them as they can kick.
You then go into the smaller paddock to see the babies, and they were all happily munching on leaves and lying about. They liked a scritch under the chin!
Then you go into the museum, which unfortunately was completely in Swedish! There is a folder with the exhibits translated into different languages (German and English only, I believe), but there’s a disconnect from what’s on show because it’s just reading an essay, not being immersed with pictures or physical things.
There’s an opportunity to try and lift some massive moose antlers, but be careful because they tip as they’re back heavy. Also, they’re sat on charcoal so we got covered in black!!
There’s then a video that explains about moose, their history, their year throughout the seasons and what they eat etc.
Overall, a good experience.

Knowledgeable friendly staff. Seems like they're taking fantastic care of the animals. Restaurant is serving different moose dishes. Learnt quite alot new about mooses.

It was a great place to visit. You can see around 10 Elks once you visit there. For my liking the entrance ticket is a bit expensive but it's worth trying it.
The restaurant is great and you can enjoy delicious Elk meat as well.

Nice to get close look on those majestic animals. Fun for kids - to pet or feed the young ones. Bit expensive though.

This is a really lovely place and my family had a great experience of snowmobiling in here! It’s our first time to visit Sweden and this is definitely a good impression to us. Had a nice Fika and thanks to the keeper, very sweet to give us we a chance to see the moose! Can’t be more graceful to have it all. <3

It was a nice experience and learned a lot of stuff about Elks. There is also a restaurant where you can try elk meatballs. The entrance fee is 18 euros and the meatballs were 12 euros. I recommend this place as I had a lot of fun.
Road Raven — Google review
Well taken care of elk farm with a restaurant and a small museum. We were lucky to see and pet 5 weeks old elks. Good for max 2h and kids friendly atmosphere.
Camilla Carlsson — Google review
A pleasent experiencw with very nice staff st the restsurant. The prices are high as theese tyoe of places normally ate. There are souvenirs that are fairly priced imo.
The elks are very social and the guides help you pet them. The guides themself are very friendly and they share their knowledge.
There was also a free jumping castle for the kids.
PS It is not a good place to bring a dog to, there are no trees or shade around the parking as it is in a field. So if you bring dog check the weather first or be enough people to take rounds to hang with the dogs. DD

Awesome place, highly recommended. Very informative, information video in Swedish, English, Finnish and German. Good museum (All in Swedish, but tour in English as well) and then get to be in the pens with the beasts. Great menu too, very tasty stew
David Vestermark (DavidSwede) — Google review
This place is well maintained, there is a museum where you can learn a little bit about the moose and its antlers, there is a room for a short movie about life of a moose in a year, a gift shop with reasonable prices and of course the opportunity to play with the animals both young and full grown. If you ever visit, try having lunch here. They do not have a full buffet but the meat stew is extremely good. A fun place for kiddos or just a date for couples.
A great place to visit both alone and with friends or family. There is a restaurant in the premises, and at least 2 lifeguards at all times. Staff is very professional and kind, and the pools are super nice, not to mention there are at least 2 pools for the little ones. Highly, HIGHLY RECOMMEND. 👍🏻

A good waterpark with good facilities and staff.
Slides are impressive and I like the open air bath which you can access from the inside. The shock of the cold air is quite an experience.
Kids love it and the adult smile as well. Have not had the opportunity to try out the health and spa sections of Paradiset.
Photography not allowed.

Well equipped place to have a swim or just a bit of watery fun.
It has 2 indoor pools, a mini indoor water park and a spa, along with saunas in womens and mens locker rooms.

Refurbished under covid closure, opened up again with a fantastic booking system which follows the covid recommendation to the full..hand sanitiser everywhere, very clean..food very good and big portions, the slides are brilliant, we had a great day top marks to the staff working on Saturday.

Nice waterpark. Kids loved it. Many different options and lifeguards were focused. Not so nice prices in the restaurant ,but hey it's a waterpark first and foremost

Visit this place every summer (born in this town) and this is a need for the kids. Great place with low entrance price. Food is not great but ok. Kids love the "rapids", feels like half of the time was spent watching them ride that one.
Per Eriksson — Google review
Place is looking a little tired but the rubber ring ride is probably the best one I have been on, albeit largely due to the fact that some of it's sections' lights weren't working. Great for kids, good workout climbing the stairs to the flumes repeatedly.

Best aquapark in surrounding area. Must visit if you love water and fun 😍 includes different rides, bubble baths, pool outside and so on!
Alex Talstoi — Google review
Exceptional friendly service. Especially lifeguards in the large swimming pool. I definitely recommend it. Lots of space outside the swimming areas for a good time together. Five star spa. It is a pity, now is closed - Corona. So I thought it was worth writing down when it reopened. If you are even passing through, be sure to visit. Even for an hour or two. You'll feel cool. I was at the end of October and when I have the opportunity I will come back.

As an adventure bath: probably one of Swedens better. And I've tried a lot of them. Also:
Pros;
It's really wet.
And fun.
Slides.
And so on.
Cons:
Really bad acoustic. Very loud.
The restaurant in the relaxation area is sub par.
Half bad cleaning in the changing rooms.
Conny Gyll — Google review
Completely renovated pool, locker rooms with a lot of fun attractions.
There is also a Spa and relaxing area, a big pool for training and fresh and clean saunas.
There is a small restaurant that has several options for lunch and coffee/ice cream.
Great place for a full day activity with family or friends, with lots of fun. You don’t get bored there.

(Translated by Google) Perfect accommodation, nice owner. However, I was deceived that it was bed and breakfast, but there was no breakfast. Not the owner's fault as I found info on google from a 3rd party.
Fresh and functional. Also accepts animals for an extra cleaning fee. (Big plus)
Parking is available next door. Own shower and toilet. TV.

Unique landscapes with mountains, established forests & coastal views in a wild, natural setting.
Awesome national park. Good for all seasons. In winter it could be that only one trail is open depending on snow amount but truly great hiking place. Enough parking. Actual hike in winter would say moderate some parts hard. But with good hiking footwear all is possible. In summer lots of green and water everywhere. Landscape is so gorgeous. I recommend any season this national park.
Martins Freidenfelds — Google review
Lovely park, you can find all the nature you could dream of. Waterfalls, lakes, hills, mountains, swamp, grass fields, mountains, forests etc.
The log cabins, fire spots and other accommodations are very well taken care of.

Scenic, stunning picturesque and beautiful National Park encompassing forests, beaches, hilly, technical climbs and varied types of terrain in between.
A real treat to hike/run the trails, especially in Spring and Autumn.
I took part in a 5-day Charity Ultra event covering around 230km of the trails and am blessed to be left with some unforgettable memories of a lifetime from my time here and along the Hoga Kunsten.

Amazing park. We chose the 13km trail and it was long enough for the day. It goes through the main canyon and offers beautiful views over the Bothnian coast.

Very nice national park with great views of the ocean of the high coast.
We came here in late march and had our snow shoes with us which was a very good idea. Without them you just sink in the snow. After about 2.5 km from the west entrance we came to a nice hut and from there it was a bit more challenging hike to the must see “skreva” which is iconic. Works if you’re in good shape 💪

Spectacular hike with breathtaking views to Bothnian Sea (from enter Syd first orange and then blue trail ten you go over the beautiful hills).
Easy hike even with children. Round trip to Slåttdalsskrevan and back with calm pace takes 4-5hours. Nature changes throughout t hike, so it interesting all the time.
Indrek Kiis — Google review
What a beautiful hike this was. We came from Entre Syd and hiked up the easy (orange) path to the Slåttdalsskrevan. We went back to the Entre Syd the blue path and had an amazing view from the top of the mountain!
Axel Schelfhout — Google review
West entrance: Easy path to lookout platform, and was quiet in the early morning. Fantastic view and relaxing walk. Igloos to the right of the trail Jan-Feb. Public firepit area near the start for cooking sausages.
Guy Edwards — Google review
What a wonderful hike.
We stayed just a few minutes away from this wonderful National Park. We entered from the south with its huge parking lot, which was almost full on that day (but free of charge).
There are some good and useful information signs just at the entrance and a handful of (smelly) bathrooms. And pretty much your first and last chance to get rid of your garbage.
We followed the well marked Höga Kustenleden trail up to Slåttdalsskrevan, the famous crevice which cuts through the mountain for about 200m.
The trail itself ist pretty flat but with some steep stairs / sections once in a while. Some parts you'll walk on wooden panels/boards. But it's nowhere near wheelchair or stroller accessable. Good hiking boots are a must, since it can be wet and damp even on a dry summer day.
Some sections of the trail are covered with stones in several sizes, so bring a good balance with.
We traveled with our Engllish Bulldog and she made it to Slåttdalsskrevan and back, even had fun doing so (into the Slåttdalsskrevan I went alone though, the climb was to high and steep).
The trail mostly leads you through the forest, so there's not much of a view. But the nature is amazing, especially when the forest opens up a bit and the rugged and foggy landscape shows itself.
Even though it's a well visited park (free of charge) it never felt crowded. It's just you and the nature. And it's not a too tough hike, but bring some water anyways and clothes to change afterwards.
A fantastic park and very much one of the highlights we've visited on our Sweden Road Trip.
What a fun place to get lost in for a few hours! They also had a shows with music and a magician during the day. We brought our dog but she wasn't allowed inside the buildings, it would have been better without her but we still had fun!!

A classic tourist stop when visiting Höga Kusten. A strange museum that has everything from classic cars, trains, boats, old cottages, to art like paintings. Nice cafeteria and they also have lodging in new hotel building.
Kristofer Tidemar — Google review
A lot of things to see, everything from paintings to vehicles and buildings, in this a bit crazy but interesting museum. The food was very good and the hotel had comfortable beds and no disturbing sounds.
Niclas Forsen — Google review
This museum is so much fun to discover. we visited with our 5 year old daughter and she was quiet long interested in all the exhibitions. You can easily spend a few hours there and if you get tired there is a nice cafe with fine food and coffee. the staff was very nice, too. the entry price was 300 sk for 2 adults. the only thing I would appreciate is to explain more of what you actually see. it's not all self explaining, especially when one is not speaking swedish. some of the things could have been staged more elaborate. but i guess that would take more time and effort. i still recommend to visit this unique place.
Susanne Thiel — Google review
You won't want to miss this! It's a once in a lifetime experience and everyone will find something to enjoy. An absolutely MARVELOUS tribute to Anders Åberg, his wife Barbro Åberg and fellow artists and the art in general, as well as history.
Emma Onwuanumkpe — Google review
To my opinion place is totally over rated and extremely expensive for what is really is: a private collection of objects assembled rather randomly and with zero explanation. The location is nice and some of the buildings are interesting like the Norwegian Church. The visit is absolutely not worth 150kr. For that price I can go to an exhibition in a real museum, assembled by a knowledgeable curator showing internationally renowned artists.
Teho Kossong — Google review
This place looks kind of awesome and probably is indeed, but if you don't speak swedish, you lose 90% of the content. Pieces that I had time to use a photo translator on were definitely worth it.

Beautiful history place with many buildings to visit and much to learn! Intresting for adulta as much as for kids.
5-star experience! After roaming around at the fortress last month we had lunch at the restaurant where I asked if they served Swedish Meatballs (this was off menu). The friendly waitress informed us that would be no problem and immediately requested the chef to make a *delicious* dish of Swedish meatballs with potato mousse - free of charge!! It is without a doubt that we will return and introduce our guests to the fortress and welcoming restaurant.

Hemsö Fästning is a good tourist destination with a fantastic guided tour and a fresh restaurant. The restaurant feels clean and there is an open climate in the dining room and there are clean toilets. The view are amazing and they have absolutely ok food there and there are reasonable prices.

The restaurant is of good quality, looks and feel newly built. Get the "good table" close to the cannon and enjoy you meal, beer och glas of wine. Very friendly staff. Be prepared for bus-tours visiting, so from beeing completly empy the restaurant (and its toilets) can be full in mather of minutes. Great place, you should go.

The guided tour was fantastic, apart from an old worker from the base that kept interrupting our awesome tour guide and trying to take over the show, feel really sorry for our guide, we could tell he was losing the interest of speaking because of the old guy after a few stops.
The restaurant on the other hand , the buffet looked like a disgrace, sure if you want to pay 120kr for a salad buffet go ahead but me and the 6 others decided to drive an hour to find more appealing food, sorry guys but you need to pick up your game in the kitchen.

Horrendous unclear layout, confusing exits and way too widespread. However, almost any shopping need gets satisfied (as long as you can bear with getting lost at times..). And each individual store complies with high standards. So, four stars for its "one-stop-shopping-fulfilment". But once you're out of there you exhale like were you under fire and escaped narrowly...
Charming place.

Lovely place for families. Been three times over the past 5 years and my English daughter has enjoyed it aged 5, 6 and 10 - as have the accompanying grown-ups (English and Swedish). It's an engaging adventure trail with acted scenes, characters to talk to and activities to engage with. The story is different each year. The actors are happy to play out their roles in Swedish or English and possibly more, always catering to the children present. It can be a little scary in parts (in a fun way!) but is suitable for young children. You can skip scary bits and the actors are sympathetic. Would definitely recommend.

Wow. This is worth a visit. Really nice adventure with trolls, and such. Must say this a hidden gem and you should really leave the E4 for this.

A small aviation museum with a wide array of planes and aviation history. Flight simulation for those interested in trying it out, a small kids area, toilets and a cafeteria with indoor seating. A good place to stop and see if your in the area.
Emma Thompson Nydal — Google review
Plenty of planes and information about them, a good selection of exhibits too as well as some excellent models of planes through the ages. If your a fan of the earlier days of jet powered flight there is lots to take in. You can really get a sense of what the base was like in its operational days! The gift shop is well stocked too! My only criticism is that parts of the museum are a touch dated and could do with a touch of modernising. This may be subject to taste though. Overall a fun experience!
Steve Bond — Google review
Nothing too exciting for adults but kids will like it. This museum has a flight simulator for kids which they will enjoy.
Archana Bhagat — Google review
Quite an impressively themed and planned museum. It shares a thorough story of the history of the post-WWII Swedish Air Forces, told from a point of view of this single military airbase. Along the planes themselves and various other technicals, it tells the story of the people, the operations and the everyday life of their time spent there. Marvelous approach that carries this nice home feel that adds a deep level of authenticity!
Micha? Sacharewicz — Google review
Very impressive museum, not the biggest but more than enough for a worthwhile visit. It's unbelievable how massive the airplanes are, and you can get very close.
The simulator is a MUST and truly incredible, if you have the slightest interest in jets and flying. Can not compare to a videogame.
You sit in a real Viggen cockpit with 100% working instruments, even the stick shaker if you stall the plane! Together with a panorama like display it really is impressive, how bumps and small hills are identical to the real world for example. You can turn your head 90° degrees while turning the plane and see the horizon.
And on top of that the instructors are great and knowledgeable.
I recommend 60 minutes.
When traveling south from the Arctic Sea we wanted to avoid the E4 route as much as possible and this took us by the small village of Växbo close to the city of Bollnäs in the county of Hälsingland. The Växbo linen weaving mill is located in a modern corrugated building, red as it should be in this part of Sweden, and situated in the middle of the forest, away from the main road. You really need to know that it exists, something that one of our co-travelers did. The workers had left for the day, but we could still enter the production facilities and study the looms, most of which were set up for the next day. The shop offers a very large choice of exclusive linen products that may easily ruin you, if you would like to purchase a complete table set or stuff for you three bath-rooms. I was offered the possibility to buy shirts or a linen suit, but having been the owner of such things in the past, I knew that after having worn linen one morning only, you look as if you had been sleeping in your clothes for a week and kindly declined. We got away with a small selection of second sorting linen dish cloths, including printed instruction on how to finish and maintain them. Great place for an almost dead semi-industrial activity.

Wonderful high quality linen factory situated in a forest. One can see the factory floor through the glass windows in the shop, the shop itself has a fantastic range to choose from. Prices are high, but I suppose that's what one pays for quality. Worth a visit

A nice little linen mill (?) making and selling high quality stuff. For those interested in machine and industry history they have very cool old looms (still working) that you can study.
The old water mill (with café) nearby is very picturesque and well worth a visit.
Modest amusement park attracting families for its rides, water park & long-running zoo.
Well arranged for visits despite corona restrictions. The waterland is very good for the younger kids and the park have in general short distances to walk between animals or attractions.

Although it is a bit far from Stockholm, it is well connected by train and is convenient to access. The advantage is that there are fewer people, so you can enjoy it without waiting in long lines. It is very well decorated for children and the prices are reasonable. If there's anything I regret, it's Parking lots are collected by the day, not by the hour. Who will park for a day?

This is truly one of the better family parks I have visited. I was most impressed by the zoo and its rich content. The animals look healthy and well cared for, which is not always the case in all parks of this species. In addition, children can play here in the amusement park, and then swim in the Baltic Sea. There are also several restaurants and bars on offer, so you certainly won't be hungry if you haven't brought food with you. I definitely recommend visiting this place if you are nearby, you will be able to have quality fun all day.

This park is not what it used to be.. After the shooting of the chimps.. Idk, it just has a sad, dull feeling over the whole park. It's more suitable for small kids, toddlers or so. The older kids won't be impressed. Too small area for the rides and not so much to ride actually. The animals.. Well there's some fun animals but it wasn't worth a visit. It's super expensive! Can't recommend this park anymore, there's better animal /amusement parks in Sweden to visit!

Disgusting to hear of how they treated those chimpanzees. None of their animals are safe as far as I'm concerned now, and extreme measures need to be taken against these awful people before another senseless killing of some poor animal or animals happens again. It isn't right that they continue standing by their reprehensible actions as if what they did was reasonable with next to no obvious consequences. Hold them accountable—4.2 stars on a zoo run by such ignorant handlers and cold business people is dangerous and heartbreaking.
Family-friendly railway museum with old locomotives to climb inside & a linesman's cottage.
Great show on the history of railway system development in Sweden!

Impressive place. Really big with several real trains 🚊 Great place to stay if you are out on the roads and need a break for the kids. They loved running around looking at the museum or playing in the play room. There's a big outside department that seemed fun with a mini train that the kids can ride with. In winter, however, that part of the museum is closed. The cafeteria was the only bad thing. Really dull. Food in plastic.
Rebecca Lagerkvist — Google review
Nice place to visit. Good old trains. Old train transport between Gävle central station and the museum.
Tip: visit also the Railway Museum in York (UK), Railway Museum in Utrecht in The Netherlands and the Railway Museum in Nuremberg Germany.
Björn van Houte — Google review
I had been there yesterday (June the 6th, 2013) with my family. The museum is excellent. The staffs at the reception are informative and helpful. The display of the old days cabins and engines are superb. My kids treated the whole place as their own 'tåglekparken' and climbed everything. We spent a whole day there and were really sad to leave.

A great place to explore and experience swedish railway history. It has signs in both English and swedish language. Offers a lot of information and in the ticket there is also included a ride with a small bustrain to the center of the town or to the storage of some other trains across the town.

Betiful park. It's green and big. It has a stretch of paths that goes side by side covered with trees on both sides. I loved walking on them.
Very interesting and excited place in the middle of nowhere in the forest next to motorway E4 . There is a small cafe shop with a gift shop, restaurant and historic chinese museum with the world's longest of 150 meters wooden wall reliefs presenting an overview of china's nature, architecture and culture. in the museum there is an impressive copy of the famous Terracotta Army. It's very interesting place and definitely worth visiting.
I liked by the fact that I could see a piece of China in the middle of Sweden👍

Nice place to see bit of China in Sweden. Terra-cotta warriors replica is nice and lot of information about China and history on display. Nice cafe to get some snacks as well.

Desolate. Not worth a special visit. OK if you are desperately in need for fuel or to stretch the legs but there are other better petrol/rest stops nearby or just for photo opportunities. It's not everyday you find a gigantic abandoned asian theme castle/fortress in Sweden. Pity that this place is developed poorly.

Very stange but somewhat magical place in the middle of nowhere, Sweden. If you happen to take this particular highway, this is a must-stop. Small piece of China in Europe.
It's in a bit of disarray, but it's free and definitely worth a visit.
Gamla Uppsala, situated outside Uppsala in Sweden, was a significant center for religion, politics and economy as early as the 3rd century AD. It is home to 300 burial mounds that date back from the 6th to the 12th centuries, including those of legendary pre-Viking kings such as Aun, Egil and Adils. Recent evidence suggests that one of the mounds belonged to a female regent.

Uppsala, Sweden
I'll never travel to Stockholm without this trip planner again
Uppsala Cathedral is a majestic Gothic-style Lutheran place of worship that was consecrated in 1435. It is the largest and tallest church in Scandinavia, with soaring towers reaching a height of 119m. The interior boasts an imposing design, featuring a French Gothic ambulatory flanked by small chapels. The cathedral houses the tombs of notable figures such as St Erik, Gustav Vasa and Carl von Linne.
This is the best church or cathedral I have been so far. Such a majestic building from outside and inside.
You can easily spend a few hours marvelling at the architecture and detailing. We happened to visit on a Sunday noon and got to have a glimpse as the service wrapped up.
It's a truly awe-inspiring structure. Well worth the day trip from Stockholm.

Beautiful cathedral and awesome building that shows the historic construction of the past. It’s a symbol of Uppsala and Sweden due to its tremendous architecture that attracts the tourists. Located in the old town of Uppsala and easy to visit.

The cathedral is absolutly beautiful. It looks really impressive from the outside and is visible fromnalmost anywhere in the city. The inside is also amazing. There is a beautiful grave in the front and glass panels. If you are lucky there might be a choir singing while you visit.
Matteo Martin — Google review
Refered as one of the largest cathedral in Sweden. It is regarded as heritage and iconic symbol. Nice architecture. It is nice to visit and look around. But, the guided tour is recommended if you have interest in history and really want to know more. Interesting facts:
1. It was build with more than 50 Million bricks!
2. The tower shapes were changed several times! By different architectures.
3. When it was planned to build, it was planned to be a big one, not like other cathedral that was build then later expanded. Based on demand. It can accommodate 900 people at a time on the benches, but with additional chairs it can accommodate comfortably 2000 people at a time.
4. Etc.. etc..
Thanks for reading 📚🙏
Visit around spring /summer/early fall, the city of uppsala is more beautiful then. 😍

Gorgeous brick work and impressive spires on the outside bring scope to the fantastic interior. Admission to the church is free, to see the great treasures that survived the fire in the 1700s, there is a cost. Recommend getting the guide book from the gift shop before wandering, as the free pamphlet only touches lightly on all the church has to offer for sight seeing.

An old cathedral at the heart of Uppsala. The location of the cathedral is very close to the Uppsala slott. Interior of the cathedral is something to blow your mind. The cathedral has the highest tower among all churches in Scandinavia.

Beautiful architecture inside and out. Really grandiose in terms of size and works of art.
Inside you will see gorgeous pipe organ and if you’re lucky enough to hear it you will be speechless for sure.
So much history there. A must see if you are visiting Uppsala!
Museum Gustavianum, located opposite the cathedral, is a treasure trove of historical and cultural collections. Housed in the former main complex of Uppsala University, it features an array of obsolete tools, preserved oddities, and ancient artifacts. One of its highlights is the 17th-century Augsburg Art Cabinet with its 1000 ingenious trinkets. Visitors can also explore Olof Rudbeck's anatomical theatre where executed criminals were dissected.
I will give the review in English since a lot of international students visit this spot as well.
The tropical "Winter Garden" offers a bit of a warm respite in the cold darkness of the North. Located in Sweden's first town founded as Christian, this ruined church dates from the 12th century.
The ruins of St. Olof's Church are located right in front of the Sigtuna beach.
And there is a parking lot next to the premises of the ruins. Passing through the cemetery and St. Mary's Church, we reached the back side of the ruins.
This ancient ruin is spectacular and well worth visiting. Because of its excellent preservation, you can now independently explore the ruin.
There are informative signs at the ruin that provide more information about the church.
Shahzad Ansari — Google review
St. Olaf's ruins is located at 5 mins walk from Sigtuna bus station. Its a very old structure that speaks of centuries old history. Excavations around this place suggest the existence of even older structure that goes before 12th century. The Church is surrounded by a grave yard and generally the gates of the ruins are locked so tourists cannot enter but its definitely well preserved.
Sneha Ganesan — Google review
Interesting ruins surrounded a cementery that makes it the creepiest from the 3 ruins of Sigtuna.
Sebastian D'Agostino — Google review
Built in the first half of the 12th Century, St Olaf’s Church (S:t Olof) was one of many stone churches erected in Sigtuna to demonstrate not only the wealth and power of the Catholic Church but to send a strong message to ordinary people who might still hold pagan beliefs. Once Sigtuna lost its importance in the late Middle Ages the churches began to fall into decay. Fortunately for us, their ruins add to the wonderful ambiance of this very gorgeous place. Take the time to walk through a structure and touch the stones hewn from rock 900 years ago.

A nice low-key site. It doesn't claim to be a museum, even though it has been a very important landmark and is still part of Swedens history. If only it had some signs with some information on the history of the church and town!!!!!
Surrounded by old stones showing clear ruins, and located in a small but peaceful graveyard, the ruins are definitely worth some time when visiting Sigtuna. Do be mindful though, it is still a graveyard.

Strandvillan's Café is a charming and cozy spot located in Sigtuna, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The café features simple yet inviting interior decor, with the option to enjoy outdoor seating with views of the nearby waterfront. Visitors can indulge in delicious baked goods, well-cooked meals, and delectable sweets while taking in the picturesque surroundings. The staff are known for their friendly and helpful service, making it an ideal place to relax and savor some delightful treats.
A very, very cosy cafe with a room with simple decoration that makes us feel we belong there.
Also, exterior tables, some with view to the lake (well... in Sweden, I struggle to know if I m standing in front of a sea, river, or lake ! 🤔)
A small independent house selling ice creams (I didn't enter).
I went to this Café already more than once. For cakes ! It's all very tasty.

My visit to Stockholm Quality Outlet was a delightful mix of history and retail therapy. Stepping into this outlet felt like a journey through time, with its historical charm adding a unique touch to my shopping spree. Among the diverse stores, I found myself drawn to the Levi's store, appreciating the quality offerings they had. Whenever hunger struck, the food court offered a decent variety to recharge my energy levels. One thing that truly stood out was the inclusivity I noticed through the multilingual signboards, displaying information in English, Swedish, and Arabic. As someone who values cultural diversity, this thoughtful addition made me feel genuinely welcome and catered to. However, while the historical vibe and store options added to the charm, some might find the shopping choices limited or the layout slightly less convenient. Nonetheless, for me, the blend of history, a variety of stores, and the effort towards inclusivity through multilingual signage made Stockholm Quality Outlet a memorable spot for a unique shopping experience in Stockholm.

Really fascinating place, the old viking settlement is gone but they've created an authentic viking village and the museum has pretty impressive scale models. The visit includes a guided tour of the site. It's a full day's outing though. Very authentic feel and a lovely little museum and very beautiful setting, although the food was good in the restaurant it was very expensive. And if you are getting the boat there, make sure you get a seat as soon as you board as there is not enough seats for all passengers inside if the weather is bad, so we ended up sitting on the floor. But the staff where super friendly, knowledgeable and the tour was great!

Excellent information and reconstructions and dioramas about the Viking community that existed here. Once you arrive at the island, it's great. BUT it is very unclear where to go to get the boat to the island. No signs. We had to ask locals.
Child-friendly museum attraction where visitors learn about science through interactive experiments.
Excellent place - Fun + Learning.
Science behind everyday things explained in various rides and interactive games.
Superb place for young as well as old children and family - 2 to 12 years should have enough to explore.
Staff are very kind and helpful.
Lavatories are okay.
Tip: One should consider buying summer pass to experience all the rides and games, as one visit may not suffice.

Nice and educative museum for kids. It’s really recommended to go on a weekday if possible, to have less of a crowd. However, slightly overpriced if going as a family. But very friendly staff and a nice learning day for kids (would recommend for the age of 7 and up, to fully understand the different elements and learn). But the kids can easily spend a full day and luckily there are a cafe and restaurant that fits all.
