Wonderful sand beach with convenient parking. Came at around 11 in the morning and it was not a problem to park car in the shade of pine trees. And parking is free! Beach itself goes alongside, walk further and it will not be crowded at all. Crystal clear and shallow water, stones to make insta pics, bars everything is there! The best beach for us visited in Corsica! Recommended!!!
Taja Sim — Google review
Nice blue shallow water. Great for little kids. Lots of pine needles and other natural debris on the beach. On Sundays extremely crowded. Some jellyfish in the water.
Jana Munyon — Google review
This is, to me, the best beach in Corsica. The dand is white and thin, the water very clean and light blue. You can park very close to the beach if you get there early (before 10am) otherwise there are parking on the street and with a 10-15min walk (very easy) you get there anyway.
Around 11 till 5pm is a bit crowded but still there's plenty of space.
Veronica De Bernardi — Google review
Long Beach with lots of space n a couple of beach bars
Maria Ach — Google review
Very nice beach with very clear water. Good for snorkelling. Not that many different type of fish but enough to have fun.
Beach consists of white sand. Be aware of the sharp needles that fall from the trees.
Enough parking space along the road but also in the parking spots closer to the beach only a few meters walking and you are on the beach
Maarten de Heus — Google review
Despite being one of the most touristic beach in the island, it is very nice. Try to go early so can avoid the crowds.
Ana F — Google review
Had pizza sitting on the beach. Was a lovely first evening in Corsica.
Anton Duvall — Google review
Best beach in Porto Vechio.
Florencia — Google review
Definitely overrated place. Corse have much more beautiful beaches than this one.
Don't get me wrong - it's still worth to visit but don't get disappointed looking on photoshop pictures.
Usually very busy and you have to leave car on leading road and walk at least 1.5km.
Cyprian Granosik (Gü_coder) — Google review
Beautiful long beach. Parking is a challenge but possible if you arrive early. Keep your flipflops/sandles on when up near the trees, sharp spines that fall from the pines into your feet are no good.
Matt J — Google review
Although the weather was very windy and not suitable for swimming, you can see that it is a great beach, with white sands and clear water. The space is not much, so maybe there are problems during high seasson.
Juan M. — Google review
Beautiful beach with very clear water. There is a lot of sand space so one can enjoy, and the water is shallow. Enough free parking space along the road.
Maria Clapés Cabrer — Google review
Great sandy beach with clear waters. We were lucky to come when it was not that busy.
Wiola Kucharczyk — Google review
Beautiful beach!!!!!
Really warm and transparent water. Great place for sunbathing and swimming!
The popular Plage de Santa Giulia in Porto-Vecchio, a bay on the south coast of Corsica, is surrounded by clear, shallow water and beachside restaurants. The pier offers fishing opportunities.
One of the best beaches in Corsica! There are good bars and restaurants, water is crystal clear. One can walk around and explore nice and more quiet places around.
F. Zefi — Google review
We expected more since we visited palombaggia. Santa Giulia is long but narrow beach so we hardly found our spot. We were located in front of some mobile homes and it was really bad smell I guess from the toilettes. The water was clear and shallow, so is perfect for small kids. But a lot of grass in the water and on the beach. Parking lot is 5min away walking and it costs us 5€ per whole day.
Sanja Rozman — Google review
Very beautiful beach in the southeast of Corsica. Partly white sand and turquoise water. The beach is very long and unfortunately also very busy. Nevertheless beautiful. If you are looking for a quieter place to sunbathe, you should walk down the beach to the end, even further than the last hotel-restaurant. In front of the the Hotel there is also a small free parking lot, next to a small lake, but there you have to be a bit lucky, because the other parking lots cost 15 € per day. If you want to go out for a meal, you should know that the beach is mainly home to high-priced eateries. Exception is a kind of fast food restaurant, but that is unfortunately at the other end of the beach.
Didi K. — Google review
A haven of peace, magnificent beach with turquoise water. (avoid in high season)
Mehdi Idalene — Google review
Long Nice beach500m from patking. Keep left to the Parking 5€ / restaurant charge for 10€ (discount 10€ if you go to the restaurant) I recommend to parking on the main road or opposite of the main road which is 500m walk to the beach as well
MA malin — Google review
Great beach. Parking cost 10 Euro, but they give it back if you order anything in a bar or bistro. Clean sand, music, a lot of young people. Cool.
100% Recommended.
Alex Pelevin — Google review
An amazing beach with clear water for the kids to play all day. There are two bars where you can easily get all the necessary food and drinks, so if you are a person who can stay in one place for the whole day, this beach offers everything. For the first 50 meters the water is very shallow, again amazing for little kids. They can walk in and out (under your watchful eye of course) all day. The water was also not cold. I recommend at least a couple of hours to visit, but it could get crowded.
Jon Premik — Google review
A beautiful beach to visit. A free parking lot located at the beach. A couple of restaurants situatuated along the beach for an ice cream, a beverage or something to eat. Lots of shade and lovely white sandy beach.
Charlene Elliott — Google review
Water is shallow and clear, sand is white. Bay is beautiful and the ship can’t come close. So why just 3 out of 5?
The grade is lowered by the August crowd, but hey, this is the time i am here. It is super busy.
There’s also quite a bit of seaweeds that reduce the amount of available beach. They also smell quite a lot. If you’re going in the paid part of it, just disregard this, they keep it pretty clean and they look gorgeous.
Another minus is the parking, the closest to the beach costs 20€!!! TWENTY!!!
There are cheaper options with nice pals (search for the 5€ one on google map, there’s a 5’ walk on a nice path).
Overall, there are FAR better options. Balistra, petit Sperone, Stagnolu and even Rondinara.
mikyberra — Google review
Clear water, cute bars & a lot of parking space. Many people, even in october - but we had enough space. Perfect with little kids!
Mara Schlager — Google review
Very nice beach. We went there a bit late, but we will definitely come back for a swim, the surrounding is magnificent!
michel mougey — Google review
The beach definitely has a potential. However, it is a victim of its own popularity. In the high season it is very busy. Additionally, the beach is not cleaned of decaying sea weeds making it a very unpleasantness place to lay your towel on. The prices in the surrounding bars and restaurants resemble those found in Switzerland rather than in France. Perhaps the biggest nuisance is the noise pollution. The beach is used to rent all kind of watercraft that emit constant noise and exhaust fumes, polluting this otherwise beautiful place even more. You will do better going somewhere else, unless you enjoy crowds, high prices, dead seewed and noise.
J B — Google review
One of the best beaches of South of Corsica. Absolutely loved the beach and the water. Highly recommended to visit when around Porto Vencchio
Sucheta Sarkar — Google review
This is what a beach should look like. Beautiful sea, mountains in the background, warm sun. Usually not too crowded, plenty of room to swim, take a walk by the shore, or play with your kids. Definitely will return here!
Tamás Kondor — Google review
Ridiculously packed and honestly expected a lot more. I think the beach is victim to its popularity as the beach was quite dirty with cigarette butts and random trash , and this was early in the morning. Also on the left hand side it’s just a port with all the boats so doesn’t feel great to be swimming so close to that. Views are very nice and water quite warm.
Getting in and out is a complete nightmare as the roads are extremely narrow and two cards barely fits. Arrive as early as possible and leave between 2-330pm
Nick Verschelde — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches close to Porto-Vecchio. It's definitely a must-see when you're in the area.
After 11 am can get quite crowded, but that's something normal.
Unfortunately, some people act like they are at their house throwing away rubbish like bottle caps. You have to be careful while walking on the sand.

Les Aiguilles De Bavella is a majestic and grandiose location nestled in the mountains of Bavella. It offers breathtaking views of the towering needles and is best visited early to avoid crowds. The area provides opportunities for a 5-hour round trip hike from Col de Bavella to explore its natural wonders, including the famous "trou de la bombe.
Very friendly, cozy, and nice! Great bread.

Fantastic food, service and view! There’s nothing not to like about this place, it’s the perfect mountain stop.
The crepes were amazing, and the people were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I’d love to drop by again at some point!

Fantastic views. Service quite ok. Food so so…
Marcin Cybulski — Google review
At 11am, we’ve ordered 2 cappuccinos at an almost empty restaurant. We were served two cups of warm milk with barely dissolved instant coffee or similar substance floating on top although they have an espresso machine. Upon politely asking whether our order was misunderstood, we were informed in no uncertain terms that “chez nous le cappuccino est comme ça”. Best avoided.
David Moldenhauer — Google review
This was such a nice place - our first question was “do you accept credit card” as some very nearby places don’t or pretend they don’t accept CC but here the waiter/ owner was very clear: yes we do - the food itself was very tasty, the service was very friendly (almost ‘not-French’ if you get my point), and the location/ view is excellent - thank you “Aiguilles” team!
Ingmar Boon — Google review
This place is excellent in a lot of regards.
They offer top quality meals, when "it was too late" for the other two restaurants nearby, the staff are excellent, very nice, the meals were all of a quite large portion and very tasty.
You can even get accommodation (with breakfast, lunch, dinner included) below in the basement on bunkbeds, they have showers, a small kitchen.
Overall, it was an excellent choice to rest here for the evening before continuing our journey on the GR20.

Excellent service, great food, good beer.
We came from climbing very late at 9 pm and they made us some awesome food!
Service was superb! Very warm-hearted! Looking forward to visit this place again!
The Maison Bonaparte is a national museum that was once the ancestral home of the Bonaparte family from 1682 to 1923. The building, where Napoleon himself was born in 1769, has been restored and now serves as one of four national historic museums dedicated to him. Visitors can explore the multilevel house and learn about its history, as well as gain insight into Napoleon's life and legacy through various exhibits.
The museum is well done. Panels are all in French but we were also given an overview brochure in English. There might be an audio guide but I didn’t notice anyone using one.
Cara Rynerson — Google review
Well organized with lots of introduction.
Highly recommend to visit, in contrast, you’ll be more satisfy if you lower your expectations.
It might be less collection if you’re a collector for seeing. But lots of emotions if you’re interesting in history of a great man :)

A history of Napoleon and his house where he was born is revealed in his Maison.
Mitja Leskovar — Google review
An excellent preservation of Napoleon's house and the story of his life and his family history and genealogy. Definitely recommend using the portable audio guide; you will learn so much. Walk through at your own pace. The walls in the house are hand-painted and look like wallpaper. Furniture dates back to the 1700's and is exquisite.
William R — Google review
A must for fans of the Napoleon's wars as well as of Napoleon. A bit sterile inside, derived from its past as a public hosting location I think. The culture of Napoleon deserves greater investigation and more exhibits. Well run.
Mike Sweeting — Google review
Super but no traslation on English

I really enjoyed it, we went on my birthday and it was beautiful to see the rooms and decors together with the paintings. It was kind of confusion because everything was in french and there was an audio guide but sometimes the story did not flow that well. nevertheless i really enjoyed it and spent quite some time strolling around there.

We like corsica ferries more than m...y ships. But it depends. They have good ships and not so good ships. We had a lot of cabins. Some cabins are quiet and some are very noisy.
Reviewer cheffe — Google review
My suggestions for improvement: The staff on the Livorno ferry could definitely be friendlier. A more polite manner and greater willingness to assist would significantly enhance the travel experience. The ferry seems to be in an outdated condition and requires renovation. New carpets, chairs, and overall modern furnishings would uplift the onboard ambiance. If dogs are allowed on board, appropriate facilities should be provided for them. Artificial grass and clean disposal options for dog waste would be a welcome improvement. The conditions of the onboard sanitary facilities are unacceptable. Cleanliness and hygiene should be top priorities and urgently improved. Surveys should inquire about the status of the pool if it is actually in operation. The information should be current and relevant. The website is also in need of improvement to better inform customers about the services and the condition of the ferry. The Wi-Fi code didn't work, which was a frustrating experience. Likewise, the booked Express Boarding did not function as expected.
My opinion on the crossing: Overall, my experience on this ferry was disappointing. The staff's rudeness, the poor condition of the facilities, non-functional Wi-Fi, and the disappointing Express Boarding all marred the experience. The cabins were acceptable, and I appreciate the honesty of the staff when my wallet was found in one of the cabins. Boarding in Bastia went smoothly, and the staff there were more polite. Nevertheless, there is an urgent need for improvements on this ferry to justify the high prices. The information on the website should be updated to better inform future passengers and avoid disappointments.
Alex B — Google review
Set off late by about 20 minutes and arrived at Bastia port on Corsica at about 1 am instead of 11 pm, but the voyage was smooth and the sunset was awesome.

They get you from A to B, with a big boat that you can put your car on. Expect no more and I wish you the best.
We had a 1-hour departure delay that turned into 2 (we were notified the morning of departure, that was ok), then ended up being 5 as we waited on the parking lot. And that was just the delay of departure. Upon arrival, there was another hour+ of delay for whatever reason. When the doors finally opened to get to the cars, the required vouchers for reimbursement magically went missing until there were just a handful of people left waiting. Great enthusiastic announcement over the PA system (also the first one on all this)! As we by then had a sleeping toddler and were in no rush (we stopped caring), we were among the last so we actually have the voucher. Don't expect any response when you try to get reimbursed, though. Their info on the website is total B#, there's no followup whatsoever (which is against the law, but hey..), they just don't respond and believe me, we've tried, in many different ways. A bad product is one thing, but a bad customer service is another.
No second chance from us, nor any of our friends. the worst travel experience of my life, by a lot.

Last summer I travelled from Toulon to Corsica to visit the village of my ancestors and promote my titanium bicycle. I recommend renting a cabin to be comfortable. It was a safe trip and food at the restaurants was very good. Staff was friendly and professional. Departure and arrival were very organized.
RIDE THE PLANET — Google review
Great boat, easy online check-in. Cabin was very nice. Not luxury but great to have a nap or to avoid the people. Waiting time was very short.
Li Sa — Google review
2 types of boats. It gets the job done but 1 boat is pretty old and dirty, other one is bit more modern and cleaner. Ship is run by Italian people, and they run it like it's their own monarchy, with the passenger as lowest "rank". The boat had some delay and we had to get out of the cabins so they can start "cleaning" it. But the garage-deck wasn't open yet, so the hallway got more and more stacked and hotter and hotter and the crew was kinda shouting with the typical "italian" handsignals, not the best experience.
Rogier Beugelsdijk — Google review
Good transfer from Bastia to Livorno. We had to get out of our cabins 30min early. Personal was mildly unfriendly. Otherwise wonderful journey.
Did the 90 minutes tour of the Calanches and was very satisfied! The booking process was easy by phone and was able to pay via credit card. The cruise was pleasant and I learned a lot. Antoine was a very convivial guide and captain. I would recommend Alpana sea excursions.
Samuel Morel — Google review
Arnaud was a great skipper, the swim in the calanques de piana are just superb! Better to go at sunset to skip the crowd. Love the whole gulf views. Long tour though, can be done in 2 and a half hours instead of 3 and a half.
Antoine Rizkallah — Google review
Excellent Grand Tour du Golfe trip, a must-do around the area. Comfortable modern boat and great staff. What distinguishes Alpana Sea Excursions from many operators was the personalised transparent service provided from start-to-end. We were informed prior to booking that it was mainly French-speaking tour and to our surprise, our captain made every effort to translate the main points to us - the only passengers on the trip that were English speakers. It made the trip extra enjoyable on top of the amazing views of Calaques de Piana and Scandola Reserve. Highly recommended.
anon acc — Google review
There are several companies running the same kind of tour. I highly recommend going for those mid size boats (12 people max) as it allows to go deeper among the rocks while benefiting from the captain comments (something you don’t get renting on your own - also, you would be highly time constrained while these fast boat can easily navigate from one point to another). Alpana was a good choice indeed.
JB Theard — Google review
I opted for a short circuit visiting the calanques and it was a great experience: the place is gorgeous!
Cécile was very nice and helpful with reservations and instructions on where to park the car. The boat is super cosy and powerful, but due to small size Thibault, the capitan, glides it inside the caves. On top of this, they accept only 12 people on the boat equipped with 18 seats, which makes it more comfortable and one can change place on the way back to a more protected one.
Many thanks to Cécile et Thibault for this magical experience!
Kostiantyn KLEKOTA — Google review
The excursion is provided in a special purpose boat that is very comfortable and well suited for this purpose. The views are spectacular including going inside the huge caves and observing the natural erosions and configurations of the lava and rock formations. Our captain today, Nicholas, was extremely informative and interesting. He spoke good English and although all others on board were French, he patiently informed everyone in a language they understood. A refreshing swim topped off the trip for me and my wife.

Offering tours that respect the environment, with friendly, knowledgeable staff and probably one of the best boats to visit Scandola. It is safe, clean, has toilet (helpful for a trip of 3h 😊)

Great experience. We would have appreciated a few more minutes to swim, especially as we arrived to port after 2:15 and therefore there was a bit time left. A second spot to swim would be great. All in all a recommendable experience. Thanks for the ride over the waves at the end :)

Rue pietonne de Porto- Acces a la tour genoise, 20150 Ota, France
The Citadella di Calvi, a historical landmark in Corsica, offers visitors a chance to experience authentic old streets and buildings. The citadel's location provides stunning views of the surrounding ancient city, bay, and mountains in the background. Additionally, it is conveniently situated within walking distance of numerous shops and restaurants. It is worth taking a stroll up to the citadel at least once during your stay to enjoy some cozy eateries with an exceptional view of Calvi Bay.
Impressive place, nice surrounding ancient city, the bay with Mountains in the Background. I will definitely return to this place on the Island Corsica.

Spectacular views of the town below and lots of little, interesting streets to lose yourself in. There are various signs with information and an audio tour I believe people can do (although we didn't). A lovely little church can be found near the top and a delicious ice cream parlour.

Its worth walking up the citadel once at least. Authentic old streets/buildings with some cozy restaurants, and some spots with a nice view on the Calvi bay area

The top of the citadel was a great place to climb on during a cloudy day. I would say that the citadel would be cooler maybe with a couple more restaurants and bar, as there is not that much to do once you climb on top apart from an ice cream place and a couple of shops. Nonetheless, Calvi is great and the citadel as well.

Definitely worth the climb up the steps to wander around the narrow cobbled streets of the Citadel & enjoy the panoramic views of the city.
A few little hidden away bars, restaurants and shops and some breezy areas to cool you in the summer sun.

This citadel is full of history, offering the chance of the doing a self-paced tour of the various buildings within the citadel. There’s lots of bars, restaurants and cafés around. Would recommend visiting it in the morning as the afternoon can get quite hot within its walls.

Beautiful view of Alassio.
Usually a bit windy also in case of a hot day.
It's possible to dive off a diving board, with a ladder to climb.
Under the Molo that's are a lot of fishes, mussels ans sea urchins. It seems to be in a aquarium. Highly recommended because very suggestive.

Castle Hill is an iconic Nices park with stunning city and sea views. There's a man-made waterfall and cafe on site, making it a great destination for a leisurely afternoon or evening out.
Lovely park in middle of Nice. Wonderful views of the whole city, the mountains and the ocean with a waterfall feature right below that you can walk up to.
There were archaeological finds and history buffs would appreciate reading the placards. We didn’t explore much around the park though.
Paths are wheelchair accessible, steep in some moments but completely manageable. There’s even a little cafe at the peak of the castle overlooking the city.

Nice spot to see a wonderful view. Not far away from the waterfall and way to go up higher. Elevator was not in service today but even for those with lower mobility, steps can be taken a little at a time with spots to sit along the way. Check it out!

Beautiful place with a fascinating view of old Nice . Beautiful nature, an impressive fountain.
In an open air cafe on a hot day, you can sit and enjoy a glass of cool beer or ice cream and then again continue sightseeing
of the historical sites or just stroll through the park. It is possible to walk down the stairs to
the promenade through the picturesque greenery.

If you want great views of the coastline, this is a great place. Captures the city of Nice and the water in a stunning picture. Highly recommend. The elevator/lift is free to use, just walk inside off the street and follow the signs.

A must if you're in Nice on holiday. Many stunning views from different viewpoints and lovely waterfall. Place to have snacks & drinks on top but take note, cash only! Was really interesting walking up from the town side and coming down the hill on the sea side.

Beautiful beautiful must visit place in nice. Either go early morning or later in the afternoon to enjoy the best views of the city. The lift to the top is free but can easily get crowded otherwise there is always the option to walk up to the hill which will roughly take 20 mins. There is a beautiful waterfall and park on top. Everything is free for the public no tickets required

Would recommend visiting when you are in Nice. Beautiful views from the top of the hill. You can also see a waterfall. Very peaceful park. There is also a toilet at the top which costs €0.50. Rewarding if you bring a picnic and eat it at the top.
Unfortunately the elevator was out of service when we visited but the walk up only took about 30-40 minutes at a slow pace.

Amazing view from this hill lead to the water fall. You can see the whole promenade from here and even nice airport you can watch the planes land and take off. The view looks amazing great at sunset and highly recommend. There is a lift you can take so you don't have to take the steps.

Unbelievable view on the Old City, the Old Port, the whole of Nice. Excellent playground. Free admission. You can climb the stairs from the side of the Old City, that is quite difficult. Or you may climb from Old Port if you prefer a more gentle path. An artificial waterfall, beautiful views, ancient, excavations, lifelong impressions....

Also known as Castle Hill, you have the option to walk up stairs, take a free elevator or apparently take a road train (for €12 I think, but I did not see or use this).
There were amazing views, and a waterfall, as well as some architectural ruins to see. On the day I visited, there were some people dressed up for photos, some zumba near the cafe and some others doing yoga. It was a really hot day so I bought some water at the top (€2 a bottle which was not cheap but very cold!) The cafe also sold many other drinks and there were tables and chairs for patrons as well as areas with benches.
It was very scenic and felt very relaxing, for me definitely worth the climb!

If you're looking for a stellar view of Nice, check out Colline du Château. This place is simply fantastic! It's a prime spot for a bird's-eye view of the city, and the best part is, it's free.
Whether you fancy a climb or prefer a lift, they've got you covered. Plus, the spot is stroller and wheelchair friendly, so it's perfect for everyone.
But that's not all. Once you're up there, there's a pretty garden to chill in and some shops where you can grab a bite or a drink.
We decided to descend via the road, and it led us right back to the old town, Monument, a Giuseppe Garibaldi place, to be exact.
All in all, a must-visit if you're in Nice. It's a five-star experience for me!

I would wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are in Nice! You have several options to get up to the mountainside. There is a tram that can take you up; it will cost you about 12€, but it's worth it if you aren't capable of climbing the stairs. You can also drive up; there is parking up there, or you can simply take a taxi or Uber. I decided to take the stairs.
Zora Tan — Google review
It’s free! There’s an elevator you can take up or take the stairs, driveway up/flat surface where you can travel by a cute trolley train. This is a family friendly park, it’s huge up at the top with several different playgrounds for kids of all ages from toddlers to middle school. Lot’s of open space, sitting areas, views, outdoor cafe that serves, beer wine, sandwiches, burgers, ice cream. Toilets are .50€ or 1.50€ on a credit card. Very relaxing open space

u can walk, take a tourist guide train or i even think an elevator but i would recommend walking. its not that far and the view is great even while walking and you miss a few beautiful things on the way there.

Colline du Château offers a wonderful viewpoint with panoramic vistas of the entire city of Nice. The climb to the top, though a bit steep, is rewarded with breathtaking scenery and a cascading waterfall along the way. After enjoying the views, you can descend on the other side of the mountain, perfect for a leisurely walk. At the hill's summit, you'll find two historic cemeteries to explore—one Jewish and the other Catholic—as well as two panoramic viewpoints offering stunning perspectives of Old Town and the port.
Sue Real — Google review
Although the history of this hill can be traced back to the 11th century, there are actually no eye-catching monuments and no historical ruins. The road sign up the hill indicates WC, but it is actually closed, which makes it very inconvenient for tourists. . The reason why it is known as the top tourist attraction in Nice is because, in fact, there is really nothing interesting to see in Nice.
People who come here are looking at Nice Bay and Nice City from the observation deck. But for local residents, this is a good place for a walk, not a special scenic spot.
The mountain is not high. You can climb up the mountain or take the elevator. There are several scenic spots on the way up the mountain with beautiful scenery and delicious food, so I think hiking is the better way.
Martin Miler — Google review
Wonderful view point. You have to go all the way to the top on the stairs and see a wonderful panorama of the entire city. There is also a waterfall on the way. You can go back down on the other side of the mountain, it is a good place for a nice walk.

We walked all the way up from Old Nice - quite a hike up steep roads and stairs. About 5,000 to 8.000 steps according to out Fitbit. We were on the north west end and didn't have the elevator /ascenseur which is on the south end off the Promenade Des Anglais.
But really worth the climb for the amazing views of the harbour, the beach and the city.
We got to see the sun set over Nice. A bonus.

It is about 7km of magic. Whenever I am Nice I have to walk this walk where I get to enjoy the Mediterranean sea, different people walking long locals, and visitors. Different generations from all walks of life, it feels like a small world. I am glad that the city of Nice didn't allow anything to be built between the beach and the promenade.
Thank you Nice for having this spectacular space that can make you go on a journey.

What's really disappointing about all the beach bars is their menus are pretty much a replication of one another. There are very little options for vegetarians, either risotto or pasta. It's like 10 years ago in the UK

Popularly known as Palais des Festivals et des Congres", La Croisette is about 22 km long promenade in Cannes along the shore of the Mediterranean Sea where the Cannes Film Festival is held. There is a sidewalk with hotels, casinos, brand stores, a rose garden and places with lots of shady trees where families meet and spend their quality time. There are interesting places around this place to stroll and explore. If you are falling short of time or do not have energy for a walk, then one can enjoy a small touristic city train tour to explore the nearby area. The place is dynamic with lots of hustle bustle of the tourists and locals. The evening sunsets and the night illuminations and combined with festive fireworks make this place truly romantic and mesmerizing. A must to visit when you are in France.

Alpha - Animal Park is an ecological reserve and educational center in France that focuses on the conservation of grey wolves. The species had been eradicated from the country by 1930 but reappeared in 1992 near Utelle, having journeyed across the border from Italy. The park provides a family-friendly learning experience for visitors by showcasing three packs of these elusive animals in a semi-free environment.
We had the chance to visit the park just when it reopened and we were part of the first group of people visiting the wolfs. The whole experience is great, we had a very lovely girl as a guide with a lot of passion for the wolfs and for the entire area. She explained a lot of things and answered all the questions. There's is a small hike to do but it's easy and if you don't have proper shoes for snow you can rent a pair from the starting point for like 3€. Totally loved it and it's totally worth it. The wolfs seemed a bit scared and suspicious after a long period not seeing people but the experience it's a lovely one.
Sorin Pascar — Google review
Rare attraction but definitely worth going if you’re an animal lover. I would say more interesting for kids. The park has altogether 6 wolves, due to the river floods in 2020, some animals like the Chamois escaped as we were told. The facility is very secure, the park guides are very informative and answer all questions about the wolves, we got to see them feed the wolves, it was quite interesting.

The 1 hr 20 min journey from Nice was absolutely stunning - with the road passing through gorges and mountain tunnels and cliffs towering high on either side. Our boys (11 and 14) loved it. It was 28 degrees in Nice (mid August) but high up the Alpha Park temperature dropped to a very pleasant 21 degrees. Makes sure you get your tickets at the building next to the very tall outdoor climbing wall. Then walk along the road a little before turning left up a rough Alpine path where you will find a bridge with an automated ticket barrier. At the Park we watched one of the pack of wolves up close through one way glass as they were fed raw chicken. Amazing! And then as we were leaving another pack began howling in unison. Very special. There is a restaurant but we didn't have time to enjoy it as we had to catch a flight home. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Nicky Veitch — Google review
A nice place to enjoy nature and watch wolves though I did not come at the best time. There was snow on the ground and started melting, so the road was wet, dirty and slippery (I felt twice and luckily I didn't get hurt).
Remember to come before the feeding time (twice a day at 11:15 and 15:45) and not to miss the feeding though it lasts a few minutes. The wolves are around before the feeding.
Seems they are/have been expanding to include more animals and activities that will make it worthwhile for the long drive up there.

Great location, well organised and friendly service.
Beware it is 1500 meters up in the Alps - you need some good clothes and take some food with you... it is pretty much a wild forest so not many options to get your meals bought on location 😉

The Park Alpha is located in the Mercantour Alps, on a highs of 1900m over sea, nearly 2 hours drive from Grasse. The way is curvy and due to the big storm Alex, three years ago, especially the streets in the mountains are damaged and you really could see what water is able to destroy. Arriving at the park we first went to the store and got some nice things to remember this visit. Afterwards we went to the park itself, a little bit higher the street than the store, more in the valley. We had some time to see the surrounding and at 5pm our guided tour, a very well animal things known women and very well english speaking women went with us in the inner park to see the mountain goats first and then to see and feed the iberian wolves. This was amazing and wonderful to be part of it. Can't believe to be so close to a wolve. After this we went over to another side in the park and could see the european wolves pack and our guide told us so many things, answered any question to know about wolves in general as well as special things for this area and the wolves. I would like to say a very big thanks to her for this time to spent with us to get this experience with the wolves. We only could recommend this place to support and see this wonderful animals. We will come back to this beautiful place some time.... thanks!
Thomas Rehrmann — Google review
I took part in a private tour to learn about the wolves and about the job of an animal caretaker. My guide was professional, shared her knowledge in a fun way and showed both passion and expertise for her job. It was interesting to see behind the scenes, to be able to take part in their daily chores and to get to meet the wolves up more close.
The storm had done a lot of damage but things are being rebuilt and still the park is able to offer a powerful experience to anyone who loves wolves and wants to spend a day in beautiful landscapes.
In their work they respect and protect the surrounding nature and keep things that are wild as wild as possible. The visitors also get educated about wolves which helps younger generations to understand these animals and perhaps sparks a desire to work for the good of wildlife in future.
Thank you for making my visit memorable. It was a pleasure.

The Vieille ville Cité Médiévale is a captivating historical landmark that nearly deserves a perfect rating. The only aspect that may fall short is the parking availability. This small medieval center astounds visitors with its enchanting narrow and steep streets, bustling city squares, and delightful street musicians. While there are souvenir shops present, there are numerous other attractions to enjoy as well. Exploring this area on foot for hours brings immense joy and satisfaction.
Nice experience. Plenty of shops and small side streets to explore. Did not really get a sense of anything traditionaly medieval, but still a good experience.

I will almost give this 5 stars.
Parking might be the lacking last star.
The small mideval center of town is absolutely amazing. Narrow streets. steep streets, city squares, music on the street corners.
Here are souvenier shops, but if you avoid these, there is plenty of other things to enjoy ... I walked here for hours, and I am happy to do so again.
The city square has an old knights templar castle/tower. An absolute beauty to behold.
There is lots and lots of foods to choose from ... from the local eatery over touristic cafés and then the artisinal bakery.
If you have lots of energy: walk all the way to the top and enjoy the medival castle .. or just walk halfway and see the church and the view of the old town.
Abbaye du Thoronet, one of the 'The Sisters' trio of Provencal Cistercian abbeys, was built between 1160 and 1190 as a stone monastery with an original cellar where wine and olive oil were made. The ultra-austere style of architecture includes pure proportions, perfectly dressed stone, and a subtle interplay of light and shadow on unadorned but never severe geometry.
Worth the visit, PLEASE pay the £3 for the audio tour device because it makes such a difference and makes this amazing abbey woth the visit. Its 911 years old! There is am actor also voicing the part of an abbot and what he saw in his day, it made the visit come alive.

I’ve seen old churches and ruins of really old one. But this 10th century stucture was really amazing! Inside the time stood still, as is typical to these former holy places but it still had that shroud of sadness lingering all over the place.
Getting here was really difficult. Our “TomTom” navigator was so lost and first tried to guide us through very narrow cart parths. Luckily we had that small car and fit that path quite well, thank you. But we decided to turn it off and use the main roads and logic. Found the parking lot 10 minutes later via different route.

It’s definitely a must see place if you are in Provence. This is the beautiful raw nature that leaves you in awe. Highly recommend renting a kayak or catamaran, the prices are reasonable. The place is worth enjoying it, admiring, taking photos, riding a boat and swimming in the river. But to me it’s not really the place where you can relax on the shore due to the lack of facilities. And this is ok, as this place is what you want to admire. During the high season I suggest coming early morning, around 09.00 or max 10.00

The most beautiful place I have ever known, the color color that is reflected in the water is magical beautiful mountains, a place to spend it with family the spectacular boat ride you rent it on the pier.

Incredible place in the Provence of France. The ride towards the gorge has stunning views. The bridge over the gorge offers an amazing view of the river and a chance for breathtaking photos. You can rent a canoe or a small boat to navigate inside the river for a more enhanced experience.

I was surprised to see that the color of the water in real life wasn’t as blue as they looked in the photos. It could’ve been because it was cloudy on the day we went. But the water was very refreshing to swim in and it was a calm day without too many boats in the end of June.

Spectacular gorge with several great hikes , take more water than you think you may need as it gets very hot in the afternoon. Arrive as early as possible as it gets very busy.

Amazing gorge and river. Rent a kayak and paddle down the gorge for amazing views. If you are going in summer check conditions first as it can dry up when it hasn’t rained in a while.

Decorative arts & paintings in a Renaissance castle on a rocky promontory, open for tours & visits.
Impressive and imposing château with magnificent views to Mt Ventoux. Fairly quiet during Easter weekend but recommend booking in advance in the summer.

The castle of Grignan is from the 17th century. It is destroyed in the past and was rebuild from a madame within public money. Now you can visit the town around and the castle itself also, entry is for kids until 12 years for free. A guided tour is also possible. Adults pay without the guided tour 8€ /person for the visit. The area around to see from the terrasse is wonderful and beautiful.
Recommendation for a morning visit because elso it might be to hot on the terrasse.

Very beautiful castle with a rich history in the region. There is not much to see inside it, but the panorama with the view is absolutely magnificent. 8 EUR for an entry for an adult seems a bit pricey though for the content.

It's ok. Restored rooms of a supposedly fine chateau. Good views but it's not mountain country so not dramatic. Good for old folks if they're ok with steps.

Lovely castle with so many evening events in the summer. A great tour and stunning views of lavender all around. Mont Ventoux in the distance!

We didn't actually visit the castle although did climb up through the roads and alleys to the entrance. It was quite a lot to get in and I appreciate the cost of upkeep but we felt 30 Euro was excessive compared to other historic sites we've visited in the region (Castle @ Montelimar is worth a visit).
The iconic bus stop for telepherique in Grenoble is an important part of the city's identity. It is a landmark from the 1930s and has been a popular tourist attraction since then. The stop is located on the edge of old town, near the river Isere. It carries tourists across the river and up to Fort Bastille where they can enjoy panoramic views of Grenoble and surrounding area.
Téléphérique Grenoble - Bastille in Grenoble is a breathtaking experience not to be missed. The cable car ride offers stunning panoramic views of Grenoble making it a must-do for visitors. The cable car takes you to the historic Bastille fortress, where you can explore history, enjoy delicious dining options, and even embark on mountain hikes. Whether you're into history or simply seeking natural beauty, this attraction delivers an unforgettable five-star experience.

Very beautiful view of the city from the mountain top.
The cable car ride was quite a thrill. Really fun spot, easy to navigate with a great scenery for photographs and getaways.
Fun thing is that dogs are allowed on the cable cars. Not sure of other pets though.
You could take a view of the city from the top just by sliding coins into the stationed ‘binoculars’.
Great experience.

Worth every visit! The view is breathtaking as well as the cable car ride. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture every single moment of your ride! When you reach the top, you will remember this review.

I loved the cable car ride and the nice view that you get. Although the ride is for very short duration, riding it by using day tourist pass is affordable. The view from the hill top is very nice and one can see the entire Grenoble and the snow covered (partly/fully depending on weather) hills. There is a nice meandering jogging way down. If you have time definitely try it to get a different type of hiking experience in the city .

Surprisingly for a Monday there was quite a queue for tickets. Each cable car bubble is pretty small so it felt a bit crowded but always safe. At the top there are great views of the mountains and the city of Grenoble. A few caves to visit too.

Worth the trip up to see this historical city. Make sure you walk down to see so much more. The steps were best unless you have hiking shoes, as the Rick's in the road are sharp.

Very nice view from up there. Must visit just to see the whole of Grenoble from up there. Its wheelchair accessible as well, and probably most of the Bastille.

Wonderful experience. It's very cheap to take the cable ride. Highly recommend. Once you reach top, you get to see the panaromic view of the city. Recommend to take one way ticket and walk the other way. You won't regret this at all.
Amusement park with roller coasters & rides for young children, plus an island-themed water park.
A very nice amusement park that can be done in a day time. The attractions here range from soft and slow to extremely thrilling.
They have several rollercoasters, water rides, chill rides for adults and kids. A dedicated eating spot is also available for when hunger hits.
I should not forget to mention the staff. The staff members are extra nice too.
Overall a very fun place for a family visit.
Roni A. — Google review
It a nice small park good for young children. If you are visiting it for the first or second time then you may feel different however, I have visited it at least once every year and it's been a long time since they have introduced any new rides to the park or any changes if any at all. Food options are very minimal and staff do not speak English 98% of the time. Shops are very basic and shows are very limited.
A. D. — Google review
Don't go there if you're not thin. Above a L or 46, you will not fit in most rides. The staff was really nice and kind about it but I felt thorougly humiliated. They gave me fast passes for other rides instead but I couldn't fit either, and I'm an 48/0XL. It was even more demorilizing as I've lost a lot of weight recently lol
I gave 2 stars for the really really nice staff who were very kind to me and checked that I was doing fine as kids were making fun of me. For context, this never happened in any other parks I did in Europe, including Walibi Belgium and Disney for example. I wish their rides were more inclusive.

We didn’t expect much but our experience was great! It was nog too crowded (monday, first week of july) and well maintained. There were 2 shows which were very entertaining. We got a week dated ticket with a burger for lunch for just under 30 euros per person. It was well worth it.
Pleunie Maas — Google review
I had the opportunity to visit here over the summer and was pleasantly surprised by how charming and fun this little park was. Of all the rides there, my personal favorite was TImber as it felt very fast paced and did a great job combining thrills into a family coaster. Most of the park looks very nice after all the changes in the past couple years and I am very exited to see the new updates next year when they build their newest area!
Theodoros Maheras — Google review
Very clean and well maintained park. Staff is super friendly and helpful and the rides are fun and entertaining for adults, youth and younger kids. Toilets are also very clean. Ride waiting times are clearly displayed throughout the park. The live show we saw was definitely entertaining.
We went on a Friday in July and the queues were generally less than 10 minutes on most rides. Everyone had a blast and I can highly recommend going here for a day.
Small note for Apple users; if you order your tickets online (much cheaper that way) and use the “hide my email” feature (aka private relay) you won’t receive any tickets by mail. This is a known issue on their side. Make sure you save your proof of payment and reservation ID and visit to the service desk at the entrance of the park and they will fix it for you.
Have fun!

Fun park with fun rides. Decent food prices. The water rides were a bit of a shock because the water was really dirty. Staff is very friendly. Had a lovely day out here. Queues weren't too long and most of them had a good amount of shade. The park was clean and tidy and the facilities were clean too. The food was good and not too expensive. If you have younger children or it is a really hot day(which it was when we went) take towels and swimwear as the splash park is a great place to cool down. All in all, a really good day out for all the family.

Purchase tickets at least 3 days before - and you will be in for a treat. Took my son for his birthday, which is just before Halloween. Dr Mystic and his spooky crew made it a day to remember. Yes - the wait was long for some of the rides - but it was worth it.
Great atmosphere, great rides, great day. Thank you to all the lovely staff at Walibi!!

The Cite du Chocolat Valrhona in Tain l'Hermitage is a contemporary museum, shop and cafe that celebrates exquisite chocolate. Owned by renowned chocolatier Valrhona, the facility offers an immersive experience through interactive displays, workshops and exhibits that chronicle every step of the production process. Visitors can indulge themselves in the accompanying boutique which offers an extensive selection of chocolate treats.
Pretty cool chocolate museum. It's modern and high tech. There's interactive videos and emersive displays. You also get chocolate samples so you can learn what real quality chocolate tastes like.
My only complaint is that now other chocolates will always be waxy inferior chocolate compared to Valrhona chocolate.

Tip: Bring a bag! Really fun and educational chocolate ‘factory’ with lots of chocolates as free giveaway. A bit smaller than other chocolate factory. But all of the animations and techs were working well. Can get a bit busy as the screens were interactive whilst sampling chocolates. Kids get a special ‘treasure’ hunt quest and free gift at the end! There’s also a little quiet playroom at the end of the visit just before the cafe - for those who wish to have a little quiet time.

Five Stars... Best chocolate ever. I wish I bought more and brought it back to the States. My children were in heaven with their chocolate care package from France. We have yet to find the quality. The staff was wonderful and help to find the perfect gifts for my kids, and the samples were an added plus. We spent over an hour and a half in there, with so many choices. Thank goodness I know what my kids and their spouses like so I was able to remove over half the choices in the store. I really want to go back to France. I need my fix of chocolate, wine and everything French.

Lovely chocolates Museum… great for all ages. Kids and adults. After the interactive museum, with sampling in every room then at the end - sampling more freshly made chocolate! Arrive on time, to get a hot chocolate. With your ticket, you have 10 percent off at the store. The ladies at the store was amazing. This is chocolates heaven. I’m a dark chocolate lover and found a new type of that I will continue enjoy- Blonde chocolate is a most have. You will enjoy it and read about how it was made.

Possibly the highlight of my kids holidays! The tour was very educational and you could learn a lot about chocolate nd the production priceless - the tasting along the way was a highlight and explained the educational content. Cafe and kids play are at the end of the tour. The shop also has an amazing array of chocolate to choose from!

If you enjoy a good piece of chocolate, the museum is definitely worth a visit! The place is rather small, but there is definitely a lot to read and discover, also for children! Make sure to be ready for some tastings and don't miss out on the staff's presentations! It was very enjoyable :)

Brilliant museum showing the growing, processing and manufacture of chocolate. Valrhona is a world leader in chocolate,6certfied B Corp, and learning about their treatment of growers and their produce is excellent. Lots of samples are available as you go around the tour, from samples of single origin chocolates, bonbons upstairs, and tasting of bonbons during the kitchen talk about enrobage.
Your ticket gets you 10% discount in the shop too.

I strongly recommend visiting this place with young kids: they will just love the experience! It’s a very immersive experience into the world of chocolate, from farm to fork. Allow a couple of hours to enjoy the whole site, and I encourage that you book a workshop...they are really worth it!

Amazing experience tasting chocolate and wine. The wine pairing was especially wonderful.
My reflection after this visit:
The pleasure of wine is cumulative. Memories, smells, and experiences are released by a wine. That is why there is often a subjective element to what one tastes in a wine. So the key to enjoying wine, and particularly a complex, fine wine is copiousness: a mature, diverse, and well-stocked larder of life experiences. Tastes, smells, places, memories – life!
For a wine to taste like a pine forest after a fresh rain, you need to experience a pine forest after a fresh rain. For a wine to remind you of grandma’s kitchen after thanksgiving, you need to have taken a second to breath in grandma’s kitchen after thanksgiving.
So do you want to enjoy fine wine? Start by stopping and smelling the next rose on your path.
“51% of the pleasure of wine is not found in the glass, but in the surrounding and associations.”
—Guillaume Rénaud, French œnologue who taught us to pair wine with chocolate at Valrhona
Daniel Foucachon — Google review
Well, I was expecting much better honestly. From how it was described to me it seemed to be the best chocolate in the world, when in reality it is very expensive and full of sugar. The museum is not all this interesting, in fact I find it more suitable for children than for an adult audience

Palais Idéal is a unique and fascinating historic landmark located in Hauterives, Drome. This extraordinary monument was built by a postman named Cheval over the course of 33 years. It is adorned with inscriptions of his poetry and stands as a testament to his dedication and creativity. The site has become a popular destination for visitors, offering an opportunity to explore the surreal construction that embodies someone's dream.
Wow! What a determination and passion to build his dream place. There are so many details. You can spend hours looking around. Jean-Michel Othoniel's exhibition was great too.

It’s worthwhile to visit this attraction and enjoy the small, peaceful villages nearby. This man is amazing to dedicate his 33 years for building an art work which gives benefits for the town’s government and brings a lots of works for the village as well as the enjoyment for the visitors.

It is definitely worth the time to drive to this nice monument and learn about the beautiful history behind it. A brilliant mailman built this palace for his daughter in 33 years by himself. There's even a beautiful movie about this true story called “L’incroyable histoire du facteur Cheval”.
There is a museum nearby as well.
It’s a good place for visiting with kids. They would be happy to find all of the objects on a map they get before entering. I highly recommend this destination.
Mandy my PHN — Google review
This is an amazing experience. Walking through one man’s artistic vision is impressive. There is a nice movie about his life you can watch and other artist’s work that are homages to Ferdinand Cheval. You should also to a few moments and go to the cemetery where he built another structure because they wouldn’t allow him to be buried on site.
Anna Zucker — Google review
If you want to get the most exciting experience form the visit of the place I can recommend watching a movie about this place which tells about a romantic idea behind this famous work of art of a postman. It motivates and empowers when you see how one idea may spark the flame of creativity and self confidence. It’s not just a monument of naive art but it’s a story of a person who made the dream come true.
The visit is not so expensive as you also can take a look at the exhibition in the museum and buy some souvenirs. There’re lots of tourists. So better to arrive earlier to have a chance to take a photo of the palace with less people walking around.

What a gift to literally walk into someone's dream!
This surreal construction awakened the child in me as well as what it means to be dedicated to something .
The combination with Othoniel's work is perfect . I suggest going whilst still there .
Consider from 0:45 to 2:30 to visit the place (depending on your sensitivity)
There is also grass and benches to rest and hang around .
Bars and glaciers just outside the premises.
Enjoy!

One of my favorites, a must see in Isere. The masterpiece is mesmerizing, reminds me of Sagrada Familia, the difference is this one is achieved by one person...truly admire the great postman !

It's hard to review this without partial stars. As the life labor of love of one man, I'd give this monument 4/4.5 stars.
As a destination, one on a little town in the middle of nowhere Farmville france, I'd give it 3/3.5 stars.
So, I'll give it a weak 4 stars. That is to say, if you have nothing to do, it's convenient to you and want to see something cool for 1 to 2 hours. Do it.
The cost is eur9.50 each adult.
I suspect it's FAR busier and more expensive and less pleasant in the warmer months though.
The grounds need maintenance for certain and I wonder if they do light shows and special events. Doesn't look like they do, but they should.
Pro tip... if you're outside the entrance, use the bathroom next to the city hall.

The story of the Postmand who build this "Palace" is simply outstanding. The amount of hours and work spend on creating this place is amazing. The Palace it self is a true work of art, and the more you look at it the more you see. We spend about 1,5 hours at this place, and I am still amazed as I write this. This is a testament of will power, dedication and hard work. It cost 9,5 Euro for adults and 6,5 for children. You are not allowed to carry backpacks since it is narrow, but there is boxes for storing backpacks while you visit the site. Parking was relatively easy, but most of parking is for cars below 2,2 meters. All text in the museum is in French, but Google Lens will help you with this. If you are in the area, do not hesitate to go see this, and read the story.

This place is magical. I am amazed at the effort this guy must have put in to build such an amazing monument. We spent over an hour looking at all the words he had written as he grew his work.
What was a little strange was the visit to the museum next to it. I'm not sure the piece about the house (not Facteur Cheval) actually work

Visiting the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval is like stepping into a whimsical dreamscape woven from the imagination of a true visionary. This architectural marvel, crafted by the humble postman Ferdinand Cheval, transcends mere description. Every corner boasts a kaleidoscope of intricate sculptures and intricate masonry, a testament to Cheval's unyielding dedication and creativity. The sheer audacity and poetry in the construction, comprising an amalgamation of various styles and influences, evoke a sense of wonder and awe. Parking mandatory (5€/h) and a lot of people over the weekend.
Organize yourself to avoid the crowd.
Julien Hurth — Google review
Quite crowded but not without reason. Several lathe and small waterfalls can be viewed and experienced from a will maintained path.
Though mostly easy to walk with stairs were needed, it can be sometimes a bit steep and slippery.
Because there is only one trail along the river and the trail at points only allows one person, when crowded it is easily jammed.
Don't forget to bring some food and drinks with you if you venture past the first waterfall.
There is plenty of parking space (paid).
Stefan van Aalst — Google review
There are several walks to the waterfalls, we took the short one from the road above, but I believe you can walk a longer tour along the river and all around. You're able to walk very close to the falls themselves and watch from secure metal gantry. You can also view the falls from a viewpoint above.
There is a restaurant nearby, but I believe it is only open during certain seasons. It would provide a wonderful view of the falls while eating though!

Nice cascade. Unfortunately, it was almost dry because of the hot summer.
-2 stars because of the parking lot for which you have to pay (5 euro 1h). The first 20 minutes are free, but it is almost impossible (without running) in that timeslot to walk to the waterfall and back

Absolutely stunning waterfalls. Make sure you wear good footwear with a lot of grip as it's quite slippy in places. Also it's best not to go off on the longer walk in the forest without a map as it is really easy to get lost! Lyons famous indoor food market offers around 60 stalls selling unique foodie treats making it a great place to get some fresh meats and bread for a picnic during summer or join locals for a leisurely brunch on Sundays. Compared to other markets, Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse is more specific about what vendors will be there so you can be sure of getting the best items.
Such a great experience to walk around and see the most amazing French foods! We visited many of the fresh produce stalls and wished to be staying someplace where we could cook! (Translated by Google) Very pretty districts of Lyon, Saint Jean of course with the square, the Cathedral, the pedestrian streets, the traboules to discover, the restaurants and shops. The funicular to go up to Fourvière and the Basilica, magnificent view of Lyon and its surroundings, then possibly go back down on foot.
And don't forget the Saint Georges district, less touristy, but which also has its charm.

Park with huge bird collection including rare species, plus demonstrations & preservation program.
Wonderful experience! The bird park is quite good, clean, safe for kids! I recommend. We even bought annual card for 45 euros.

It is beautiful but neglected.
The place is far from Lyon.
I liked the place but it is better to go in the fall because the insects are really annoying.
The animals are clean.
There are restaurants, but I do not know why they are always closed. If you have children, it is better to take your snaks with you.
In general, it is worth a try
Note:
They decorate for Halloween very nice and perfect.

Excellent day at the bird park. I was there for the second time and all the family found some interesting things to do including kids. The new area dedicated to Africa is really well presented. Another good point is that there are a lot of places to make a picnic and playgrounds for children. I also recommend the observation tower to have a good overview of the park. Finally, the bird show in the afternoon is a must see.

Good place to spend the day with the family. Make sure to buy your ticket ahead of time or you may be waiting in line for a long time. They are not very organized.
The place is in need of renovations, bathrooms are old, dirty.

Our 3rd visit to this park. We love it. Our kids love it. My folks love it. Always something new to see. Always clean. The birds and other animals seem happy and well cared for. Saw one of the shows this time - for the first time - and it was brilliant. We will be going again on our next trip to the area.

THE best bird park/ontological exhibit I have seen. The handlers and keepers of the birds should be commended- they are behind the scenes but they obviously care for their charges. And the bird show was the best I have ever seen- it showed off bird's skills without being a show of talking parrots. WELL worth a visit! And they deserve support

Wide area for a bird park (think of a stroller or trailer, when you want to visit the park with your smaller kids). Amazing bird show. Entrance fee is not cheap but its worth a visit. Spent a wonderful day in July 23 there with my family.

Very nice park. We went there with our boys aged 8 months, 2, 4 and 7 years and everyone enjoyed it a lot. There is even some nice restaurants. We could easily have spend more time there that day.

Parking lot, D1083, 01330 Villars-les-Dombes, France
Flamboyant Gothic-style monastery known for its ornate marble royal tombs & oak choir stalls.
A truly beautiful monastery. The vast majority of the interior is open to visit for a small entry fee. Interactive displays and videos bring the history of this great building to life. A large collection of artworks, traditional wooden toys and intricate architecture provides a pleasure filled visit for all. Learn about the history of monarchs who resided here or see how the building was constructed and adjusted over the years. This really is the crowning jewel of any visit to Bourg-en-Bresse. A must visit.

Amazing place, exceptionally preserved and restored. Not to miss if you are in the area and if you are a minimum sensitive to old church architecture and all associated arts, history and... just beauty!

Took my breath away. The artisitic detail on the choir area, the beautiful stained glass windows (whose features included "textured" glass, making the clothes look like velevet or silk!), and the prominent paintings by famous artists, were all so fantastic. This place will delight and surprise any visitor.

Very nice church and monastery. Right now there is also a Lego exposition with all kinds of famous French sites.

Most of the stuff are in English. Very tourist friendly.
The Hôtel-Dieu Museum, also known as Hospices de Beaune, is a renowned attraction in Beaune. It was originally built in the Middle Ages as a hospital and later transformed into a museum. This flamboyant Medieval hospice showcases local art and furnishings from that era. The Gothic architecture adorned with vibrant glazed tile roofs adds to its magnificence. Additionally, the establishment owns prestigious vineyards whose wines are sold under Domaine Hospices de Beaune.
Historical landmark which served as the first ever hospital in the world. The place have a rich history and a nice audio guided tour. I would say this is this is the main attraction in Beaune.

Very interesting museum in a former hospital that was in use up to 1984! Tells the story of how the hospital worked over time and daily life there. Also a must visit for medieval art and architecture enthusiasts as the place is full of it. Displays are informative with the provision of an audio guide which can be in English and French.

Hôtel-Dieu Museum - Hospices de Beaune is an absolute must-visit! Taking the guided tour is highly recommended to fully immerse yourself in the rich history of this place. While many flock to the region for wine tasting at the numerous châteaux, don't overlook the incredible beauty and fascinating history here. The museum provides valuable insights into the evolution of medicine and leaves you pondering how far we've come, yet how little we've advanced in some aspects. It's an incredibly interesting and thought-provoking experience that shouldn't be missed.

Hôtel-Dieu Museum is one of Beaune's must-visit attraction spots, besides the various wine domains and caves in the city. You'll learn about the building's history and transformation, which is entwined with that of the city. Audio-guide is included in the entry ticket. Book online in advance to avoid long queue.

This is a must see if you are in the area. The building is definitely unique with a great story spanning centuries. The self-guided tour (with individual devices for narration) takes up to 2 hours.

We visited on a half market day via tour bus and enjoyed the area. Restrooms were not bad. There are many places to have lunch and shady spots to relax. The market packed up at 1, so get there early if you want to check it out!

The hospice is definitely worth a stop. The very detailed audio information played on demand via a special phone provided was a great addition to the basic tour. It is an amazing place that was set up by a nobleman in the 1400s.

Very interesting and astoundingly beautiful museum which was a hospital in the early modern age. If you are anywhere near Beaune, this is certainly worth checking out. Cheap admission includes audio tour which is available in many languages. Great trip through 16th-18th century history.

Beaune is famous for wine and this impressive former hospital for the poor. The Burgundian roofs and architecture are beautiful to see and it is famous with tourists. You can get an audioguide and explore the history of the halls. Every year in Nocember is the charity wine auction as the hospices also have their own vinyards.

Sleepy little town with amazing architecture. The hospice with its beautiful roof was especially lovely. Wandered through the narrow streets and came upon an impressive looking church.

Make time to go visit. This hospital built in the 1400s. Very interesting. The audio tour is presented as if you are talking with the wealthy couple that funded the construction. A fun POV. If you bring children, there's a special audio tour available for them. Very enjoyable .

a wonderful visit to France's 14th century past - an inspired venue dedicated towards healing men & women's hearts, body and souls.
Thank you Emerald river cruises for organizing this wonderful excursion.

Very impressive building from the 15th century. Created to provide hospital facilities to the poor, it continued to provide medical services into the late 20th century.
The price of entry includes a self- controlled audio tour about life in the Hospices through its history.

This place is amazing. Bever thought that a private own hospital could be this cozy and welcoming, especially during the revolution days. The facilities are surprisingly well preseved and protected for the visitors to know about that period of time. If it wasn't that sunny, I would love to spend more time there just to listen to the bells from the tower.

Such a fascinating building and history. I was amazed and it definitely surpassed my expectations. I definitely recommend the museum. The collection of chests was great. I was surprised by the inner courtyard, the pharmacy, the Kitchen, the main doom with its roof and the little chapel.
