Malkoç, Gül Sk. No:45, 10109 Gönen/Balıkesir, Türkiye
Archaeological site featuring the crumbling ruins of a settlement in use until the 7th century CE.
A true feeling of ruins set within mountain wilderness. Virtually no tourists, meaning one can enjoy the site largely to oneself. Though not as extensive as other sites in this part of Anatolia, an easily manageable visit in the morning or afternoon. Seek out the restored fountain in the main agora.

Tried a few years back to get here but couldn't for snow, this time i made it. With no views, low visibility & biting wind Sagalassos is still worthy of 5+. On reflection, i'll be going in summer next time.

Amazing historical AND natural site! Absolutely beautiful. In every angle. It feels good to be in such a majestic natural beauty and …take time to feel it … the air is so pure!

An excellent antique city located in Psidia (Burdur) built on 1700m altitude. Not very archeological excavations has been done here so you can see very original of it around.
Parviz Nazem — Google review
One of the best ancient ruins I’ve been to. The best thing is a huge re-erected working(!) fountain. Definitely a must visit if you’re in the area.

Must see! 1.700 m high. Fantastic history. Collaboration with KU Leuven. Originals at the Burdur Archaeological Museum.

Wow! Quite difficult to get to and very cold but well worth it! Quite steep and slippy paths, wouldn't take kids! Little shop, tea and toilets at base. Free with MuzeKart

Amazing site. Well worth the trek. And it is a trek to get from the lower city to the upper city. The water of the restored fountain are ice cold and will refresh you in the hot Turkish sun. Truly one of the most amazing ruins I've seen.

We walked 3 hours and read informations about places. However, Me and my family can't see all of them. My favorite place is fountain and cave because weather is too hot and these places are cool.

One of the most preserved archaeological sites in Turkey I have seen so far. Belgian archaeologists restored some of the ruins back to their former beauty. I thereby thank those people for the work they have done here. I strongly recommend people passing by to stop here and visit the ancient city!
Jan Fleischmann — Google review
What an amazing ancient city in an absolutely stunning location with far reaching views of the countryside and surrounding mountains. Well worth a visit.
Richard Attoe — Google review
What sets this place apart is there is a functioning fountain. It's a long drive from Antalya so make sure you know this is what you want. This has a theatre like other sites but this one has the mountains as a backdrop (like Termessos). Then go to the burdur museum to see the actual statues from the fountain.

Even if it were abroad, the surroundings of the pond would be made more beautiful with well-groomed, grassy, bicycle and walking paths. Our approach was to just barbecue and watch from where you sit.

Spacious mall with local & international brands, a food court, a cinema & a children's play area.
A large mall with several shopping options. We were there looking for dinner and they had a decent food court that suited each of us. I went to a place selling Doner and got a tasty chicken doner. My wife and daughter longed for the American fast food burger and got Burger King, while my son went for the pide he got at Pidem. It was a good pide with mushrooms, olives, corn, tomato, ham, green chiles and cheese.

It's a decently sized mall with many cafes, clothing stores and restaurants. It doesn't have any luxury or high end stores however, so don't expect it to be like the malls in big cities.

Forested river gorge popular for hiking, rock climbing & photography, with several swimming holes.
Absolutely awesome. You only read about these sorts of places in books. Unspoilt and pristine. Clean sparkling fresh river that runs through a deep gorge through the Taurus mountains.
Wonderful picnic areas just by the river.
We spent a whole day here and you can go hiking as well.
I’m a picky person but I was absolutely blown away by the serenity and beauty of this place. You will not regret it. Only an hour drive north of Antalya city.
Bilal Sezgin — Google review
Absolutely stunning place. Just the drive from Egirdir would have been worth the canyon itself is very pretty, too. There is currently limited facilities there but a new toilet block, restaurant and cabins for accommodation are under construction and look like they might open soon. Be aware, we were there in spring and the river was extremely cold and the current strong but it was still popular for swimming, bring swimmers and towels.

Amazing place !! The hike around the canyon was just perfect, in tree covered ways keeping you cool. Then a dip in the clear waters to freshen up.
Hats off to all the staff who work so hard at keeping the place so clean and tidy!! Plus so friendly and happy to chat

Entrance fee is 15TL, but in mid May there was nobody collecting fees. However the shop was open. Next to the parking is a lovely picnic area with many tables. It is not immediately obvious where the walking trail starts from. The main trail goes upstream on the right hand side of the river, you need to cross over the footbridge. For the more adventurous you could initially walk up the left side of the river on the St Paul's trail for around 300m before crossing a foot bridge onto the main path. The main path is wide and smooth. After about 30 minutes walking you reach a large open area. If you want to continue the path does carry on but is a lot narrower and more rough. After another 15 minutes you pass through a small cave and then the path drops downwards. Another 5 minutes and the path runs out. A really spectacular walk and well worth doing.

Great experience clean water, even they don't give us permission to camp wildly but we did, and I understand why they don't give permission, because of in the hiding places you can find some rubbish that will disturb your mood a little bit, but not that much, and like in the end of the river there is a good big place for swimming, so clean so wild, even I swimmed naked. Enjoy

One of my favorite places to have visited in Turkey. Just plainly gorgeous mountains and crystal clear water you can freely dip into. We had to hike only a couple km to explore canyons, rivers, tree hollows, little caverns carved by the water. Not crowded at all when we visited in the middle of July.

The construction date of the Hızır Bey Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque, is unknown.
However, it is thought that the walls were built by Hızırbey as masonry and with an earthen roof.
On the roof of the mosque, where 3 thousand people can pray at the same time, a part of the roof was left open to remove the snow accumulated in winter and a snow well was built inside the mosque.
The mosque was burned in the fire that broke out in Eğirdir in 1814.
It was rebuilt in accordance with the old style by the help of the people collected by Yılanlıoğlu Şen Ali Ağa from Eğirdir.
In 1883, under the leadership of Hacı Murat Ağa, its roof was covered with tiles.
The minaret of the mosque was built on the gate of the castle wall, which forms the common wall of Dündar Bey Madrasa and Hızırbey Mosque.

However, it has been claimed that it was built as a warehouse by the Seljuks in the 11th century, and that Hızır Bey converted it into a mosque in the 14th century during the Hamidoğulları period. The mosque burned down during the fire in Eğirdir in 1814, and was restored to its former shape with the money collected from the public by Eğirdir Müteselimi and Guardian Yılanlıoğlu Şen Ali Ağa. It was rebuilt appropriately. Hacı Murat Ağa had its roof covered with tiles in 1883.
The walls of this building, also known as the Grand Mosque, are made of masonry and the top is covered with an earthen roof. A part of the upper cover is left open so that the snow accumulated on the earthen roof during the winter months can be thrown out.
The mosque has a rectangular plan. The eastern wall is adjacent to the city walls. The entrance door is a typical example of the Hamidoğulları architecture that continues the Seljuk tradition and displays one of the beautiful examples of stone interior. The relief moldings surrounding the door are decorated with various stone decorations.
The single balconied minaret of the mosque is original and was built on the castle walls that form the common wall of Dündar Bey Madrasa and Hızırbey Mosque.

What an amazing Magarasi !
First of all , let's agree about this point which is it deserves a visit ❤❤
Every thing about it was beautiful , begins with the roads to arrive there and its nature then the Magarasi itself.
Secondly , the fee were 8tr per person which is cheaper than what I expected and it should be like this for every place in the world.
Thirdly , the Magarasi was very long and extremely beautiful it is magnificent , and the light inside was good so you can enjoy taking photos.
I suggest that you bring jacket or a blovar because it was kind of freezing cold inside and I went there on the 14th of August and I got very cold..
All in all, I do strongly suggest it for all people you so that can learn its history and enjoy its beauty .
Love it , love it.

Austere, historic Seljuk mosque at the foot of the castle hill, surrounded by beautiful old Ottoman houses.

Very old and ancient mosque, beautiful design, worth a visit
Noor Emran — Google review
Honestly one of the most beautiful mosques I've ever visited in my life. From top to bottom you see wood, with beautiful carvings too. An ancient, natural feel lingers in the air, the history of worshippers coming and going is apparent. A set of creeky steps takes you to the women's section upstairs where light barely creeps through the gaps in the partition.
Wudu area just outside the mosque is clean but no paper towels. A single plug socket at the front to charge your phone. Next time I will come with a better camera inshallah.

Free and informative, written in both Turkish and English. There were also QR codes linking to each description. Lovely traditional sufi music played and detailed wax figures of the daily sufi life was displayed. Unfortunately the information desk wasn't open so I couldn't get an audio guide but the descriptions seemed sufficient. Don't forget to check out the room with many ancient handwritten Qurans!

If you are interested in history then definitely go for a visit. It’s a small museum about the Mevlana people in Afyon and shows their lifestyle. The fee to visit the Mevlana’s house is 7.50tl. Nearby there’s also a Mevlana cami/mosque you can also visit. You can get an audio guide for a small payment.

The tree was registered by the Antalya Conservation Board on 11 May 1992 with decision number 1401.
The region where the plane tree is located; The nearby Madrasa, Turkish Bath and Devlethan Mosque are also important as they show the settlement center and form of the Turks during the Seljuk Period.
Çınaraltı, which continues to be a center today as it was in the past, is a recreation place where people can sit and chat in the cafes here, and enjoy the shadow of the centuries-old plane tree while sipping their tea and watching the Devlethan Mosque, which has survived from the 12th century.
While the place where the Monumental Plane Tree was previously located was a paved road junction, it was later closed to traffic, the ground was leveled and the area around the tree was arranged, giving it the atmosphere of a historical square.
Today, Çınaraltı is the first stop of tourists and visitors to Yalvaç, or the place for short breaks between intense history and nature excursions in the city.

Antioch of Pisidia
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Ancient hilltop ruins at the crossroads of the Mediterranean, Aegean & Central Anatolian regions.
We spent 4 hours slowly looking over the ruins, imagining the history that transpired here and enjoying a picnic lunch we brought. Discovered 4 church ruins including one with reconstructed sections of floor tiles. We walked there from our hotel in Yalvac, not too far. Definitely worth the 60 TL admission!
Karen W — Google review
Antioch of Pisidia is another important and pretty spectacular ancient city located in Yalvaç city of Isparta. Its history dates back to 3rd Century BC and there several remainings from different eras. The theatre, Decumanus Maximus and Cardo Maximus streets, Temple of Augustus and Sanctuary, Nympheum and St. Paulus Church are the main places that you will see. The site is wide and excavations still continue. You need at least 2 hours to visit this place properly. Enterance fee is 12.5 TL as of January 2022. You can park on the street in front of the area.
Baris U. — Google review
One of the lesser trodden hidden gems of Turkey. A real sight to see, site accessed via entrance booth, with some helpful signage round the site. Can highly recommend.
Mark Lees — Google review
Sad that so little of this important city is left. Whilst you get some sense of what it would have been like you don't visualise the bustle of a thriving community. The church of St Paul is probably best preserved although as it is being worked on you don't get to walk down inside it at present. Certainly worth visiting if you are in the district but not if you have to drive 3 hours each way.

This park is designed like an open air museum. Some of the most well known tales of the honourable Nasreddin Hoca remind of his genius in naturalistic statures. It's a real small place, one can walk through in a few minutes. I advice to have a nice private guide by your side to tell you about him!
On the other side of the street there's his tomb. Right now it's getting renovated, one can't see him, but the park is still nice and there are info tables to read of him

A real cultural centre for Turkish cultural philosophy. For all interested in the life, writings and impact of Nasserudin Hoca on Turkish culture a must visit.
Mark Lees — Google review
Nasreddin Hodja was a Seljuq satirical Sufi, born in Hortu Village in Sivrihisar, Eskişehir Province, present-day Turkey and died in 13th century in Akşehir, near Konya, a capital of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum, in today's Turkey. He is considered a populist philosopher and wise man, remembered for his funny stories and anecdotes. He appears in thousands of stories, sometimes witty, sometimes wise, but often, too, a fool or the butt of a joke. A Nasreddin story usually has a subtle humour and a pedagogic nature. The International Nasreddin Hodja fest is celebrated between 5 and 10 July in his hometown every year.

The museum is small, but worth seeing. It has an ancient mosaic, one of the oldest pebble mosaics in the world according to the museum, and other interesting artefacts. Most of the more famous Phrygian works are stored in Ankara, but there is enough here to be worth stopping a while.

Lake Mogan, located in Golbasi near Ankara, is a picturesque natural spot covering approximately 644,000 square meters. The area offers various recreational activities such as picnicking, camping, and fishing. Visitors can also enjoy walking trails and observe endangered waterfowl species. The lake features amenities including picnic tables, campsites, an amphitheater, a wedding hall, playgrounds, and designated walking paths.
I wasn't expecting much from looking at the pictures, but it's a very peaceful, comfortable and beautiful place just 30 minutes away from the bustling city center. There are walking tracks along the lake shore and boat rides. When the weather warms up someday, I'll definitely come back for a boat ride.

One of the beautiful places in Ankara,a perfect place to watch the sunrise and sunset, but please the municipality should warn or fine the people who litter the ground because there are too many people messing around :(

Mogan lake takes place at Gölbaşı. It is in wide area and good for refreshment at weekends or weekdays. There are cafes for breakfast and the prices are normal there. Just don't forget, if you order something order than breakfast it will be expensive which is tricky. At the weekends the lake is very crowded. There are many people having picnic around. Entrance to the park by person is free but entrance to the park by your car is not, you have to pay for parking. I recommend you to visit the park if you want to enjoy your time. You can take your own breakfast too.
Yasin Badir — Google review
Pretty lake in Ankara, sunset is amazing but be sure to be on the east side of the lake (I think opposite side of the official park entrance) , lots of cafes and restaurants along the east side, as well as walking and bike paths.
Cheryl Soh — Google review
It was a quiet place but it was fun to spend time with the family.
There is also a great barbeque area where you can enjoy your own cooking.
The food in the restaurants was not that tasty. we ordered a Turkish food of meat but it was filled with chicken 🙄

Gordion Shopping Mall
Shopping mall
Shopping
Gordion Shopping Mall is an elegant retail center showcasing a variety of national and international fashion labels. With its charming ambiance, this mall stands out from the crowds of other malls in Ankara. Despite being frequented by many families, it remains relatively peaceful and uncrowded most of the time, offering a pleasant shopping experience. The mall boasts a wide range of shops that cater to diverse tastes and preferences. While the food court could be larger considering the mall's size, it still offers satisfactory dining options.
I explored that mall one week before. train station is inside of the mall. the mall is big and there are many types of stores. it was not crowded but I think it will be crowd in weekends.
Alperen — Google review
A higher class shopping center than most of the other shopping centers in Ankara, prices are high, and more famous and luxury brands, close to the Metro station it's a big plus
Komeil Hemmat (Chaz) — Google review
The food court is not sufficient for such a large complex. Transportation is easy to reach the mall, there is a direct entrance from to metro station.
Duygu Seyman — Google review
metro station just under within the Mall makes it convenient for easy access and adds value. Its shops and facilities are very decent ranking it in one of the leading malls in Ankara.
Ibrahim C — Google review
Lots of brands. Good cinema. Food court is a bit small. There can be another bookstore. Enough parking space. Its place is central. There is a Carrefour for Supermarket. I enjoy drinking coffee too much. Caffe Nero offers inside and outside hosting for its customers. The library inside coffee shop can offer interesting reading opportunity.
Gg Öz — Google review
Super clean mall with many stores/places to eat as most of them in Ankara

Less crowded, limited shops, kid friendly, but food court is small
AHNAF RAKIN — Google review
The place is warm, pretty, and cozy .. unlike some of the malls I went to in ankara, this one is really quiet although there are a lot of families, it's not crowded most of the time and has a lot of shops I'd definitely search for.

There are only a few open air places in Ankara to have some fresh air and drink hot beverage. Göksu park and lake is the best option for the west side of town. Cafes are not top notch but adequate. You can have a peaceful night with friend watching the lake. Nargile (sisha) is also an option in some cafes. For children you can feed the geese and ducks. There is a train that encircles the lake for minors. And a mountain sled. Also you can have a picnic in the designated area...

A great place to hangout with friends and family. You can find peddle boat, Go kart and many more things to have a great and quality time. This place has lake and surrounded by high apartments. A great place to walk with your loved ones. The best time to visit this park is when the sun comes down it is because the heat level comes down and the wind is cooling and calming. Greenery all over the place will give your eyes a great feeling. A beautiful place with many reasons to have fun. Hope you all have a great day.

The Turkish Air Force Museum is an indoor/outdoor museum that showcases a collection of military aircraft and model planes, as well as uniforms and memorabilia. It's an interesting place for those curious about aviation, especially children. The open-air exhibition area features around 20 to 25 retired planes, including two cockpits that visitors can sit in. On the second floor of the museum, there is a small cafe available.
Took some nice photos there :) The Museum had lots of planes and even other ww2 inventories as a nice extra on top of all.
It would also be really nice if there were mini plane replicas for buying.
Hasancan Aktepe — Google review
I've been to this museum a couple of times with my kids and the collection is very nice. I would love to give it more stars, but the entry fees are staggeringly high, even considering the current inflation. Beyond this, the prices demanded of non-Turkish citizens, even those who have legal residency and live off the local economy, are obscene. One wonders if the proprietors even want visitors to come. They certainly show no respect to their potential clients. We left without going for this third time, deeply disappointed at this attitude and the lack of care or response by the employees when called out for their greed. My advice is, don't go. As nice as the collection is, it's not worth either the price of fuel to drive out nor the entry fee. I am deeply disappointed in this state of affairs as it is quite a nice museum.
