Arapaleeswarar temple, Kolli Malai, is a Siva temple in Kolli Hills in Namakkal District, Tamilnadu. 5km far from Kolli Town.
The temple is open from 7.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. During the festival days, the temple is open from 6.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.
Lord Shiva is a swayambumurthi. A scar on the head of the Shivalinga is visible caused by a hit of a plough. The construction of the shrine is such that a devotee could enjoy the darshan of Lord Arappaleeswarar, Mother Thayammai, Lord Vinayaka and Lord Muruga standing from a single spot.
You can enjoy the most beautiful 70 hair pin bend road while visiting this temple. Bus service also available till temple. The most beautiful Aghaya Ganga waterfall also near to this temple.

Nice shiva temple. Believed to be a old temple surrounded by greenery . Mountain fruits were available. Nearby falls is there but it’s too long distance to climb back so we avoided. Nice Dharshan .

This Sivan place is located in Kolli malai, in the upper side of the hills there s lady god, who is originated from this local place as a saviour of local people, she is named after this place. Her name is Kolli pavai, means Kolli girl. There is a falls also located, but this is only falls so far I know you have climb down 1000+ steps to see the same. You can bath if the water flow is good.
Around this place you can get spices like pepper, clove, garlic etc at a very good price. Who ever comes over here, they purchase the same without failure

This beautiful Arapalli Eswarar / Arappaleeswarar temple is located in Arapalli, where the king ruled “Valvil Ori” and where sage Kalangi first performed penance for eighteen Siddhas. Scholars believe the temple was built/reconstructed during the Chola period...

This place and Agasa water falls entrance are close to each other. This is lord shivà temple and not much crowded anytime during the day. It opens in the morning around 7 am and close by 1 pm and opens from 2.30 pm and close by 7 pm. One of the famous and ancient temple to visit in kolli hills. Not much options for lunch outside this temple. Only veg small hotels available, that too like veg meals, cauli flower or mushroom fried rice, but u can get other things like spices, soup powder, home made chocolates and other house hold useful things

Arapaleeswarar Temple is largely believed to have been constructed in the 1st or 2nd century AD by Valvil Ori during his rule, and it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located at Periakoviloor, it is in the vicinity of the splendid Akasa Gangai waterfall. Inscriptions dating back to the Chola period have been found at the temple according to experts in the field. Another important historical monument unearthed here is a megalithic burial site. A secret path to the Lord Shiva temple at Rasipuram is thought to exist at Arapaleeswarar Temple.
The Shivalinga in the temple was found by a farmer, according to legend. While ploughing, the farmer accidently hit the Shivalinga, and the structure started to bleed. The temple is 17 kms from Solakkadu junction. This temple hosts main deity as Lord Shiva .
The temple is quite old with some history attached to it. The temple is said to be built by King Valvil Ori. The temple timings are 7 AM to 1 PM and 2:30 PM to 7 PM. There are lot
of eateries around the premises of the temple and all are pure vegetarian. Vegetarians, please ensure you have some food here, without which there are no pure veg restaurants in anywhere in Kollimalai. The place has lot of parking around the temple and shops to buy forest agro products like honey, pepper and lots of condiments Old Temple with Shiva and Parvathi as main deities , all Sidhars sculpture are affixed on the walls of Temple . Nice temple , it has a big bell which children try to pull and its
fun for them . Lot of shops are available near the temple which sells local agriculture products .
Aagaya Gangai falls and Mini Falls are adjacent to this temple . Government Buses wait here and board passengers . Those who cant go down to Aagaya gangai can try Mini falls which is situated behind the temple , its actually a stream and not falls.

I had an unforgettable visit to the beautiful temple nestled in the serene landscapes of Kolli Malai. The architecture is mesmerizing, and the road to the temple is smooth. Ample parking space adds to the convenience. A must-visit for a tranquil and spiritually enriching experience. Can't wait to return!

This is one of the oldest temples in Tamil Nadu and a must visit spot in Kolli hills. Once you reach this place, you will find sitraruvi , just outside the temple, where you can take bath in a set up like pond. There’s also a falls inside which flows to aagaya gangai. Surrounding this temple is the entry point for aagaya gangai water falls. You will also find small shops selling natural spices, fruits and other eateries. The soup sold here is very good.

Om Namasivaya, in entrance 3 Leg Nanthi, it's special for this temple
Amazing waterfall 👌 located in Kolli Hills, of the eastern ghats, Tamil Nadu originating from river Aiyaru.
Water falls from 300ft of height and its an amazing view🤩
Opening time 7am - 3 pm👈
Need to climb down 1200 + steps to reach falls.
Approx 30 minutes to climb down and 1hr + to climb up 😇
The view of the falls and the experience is worth all the pain👍
The water falls on rocks/ pond like place. We have to pass a 50 feet long stream (max 5feet deep) to reach the falls. A rope is tied leading people through the pond towards the waterfalls for safety.
Carry waterbottle and snacks. You may require refreshment while coming back.
Jithin Nair G — Google review
There are around 3000 stairs to go down. Going to the falls is easy but returning would be a task. It's recommended to carry water bottles.
Exploring India — Google review
Guys, you got to climb and get down a lot of stairs. 1200 steps totally might seem easy on numbers but it’s steep, gonna be tiring. Takes around 30mins up and 20mins down. Definitely worth the journey, water was decent, towards the lesser side only yet the height from which it falls makes it serene. For sure gonna be amazing with more water. Do carry bottle and i wish the place could be maintained, more people=more dirt snd plastics. There is a temple as well with ample parking ourside. 60 bucks charged for parking.
Rishabh DA — Google review
It's a beautiful falls. Good to take a bath. But there is no rest rooms and dressing rooms down there. It's very to walk 1300 steps down. U can bring water bottle down there with govt sticker. U can not carry any carry bags.

Actually the waterfalls beat the hell out Me 🤣
(On a funny note).
Actually it is one the best waterfalls in Tamil Nadu. Enjoyed a lot.
But U have to climb down and up nearly 1600 to 1800 steps round trip 😥😥😥 , but worth it😍😍😍

Best place to visit in kolli hills. Approx it is 18 km from 70/70 hair pin bend. In route u will find lots of spice shop, where u can find spices at very cheap rate. Ample amount of parking(₹ 60 for car) space available near water fall. Entry for water fall is ₹30 for adults and ₹20 for child. To reach waterfall u have to step down approx 1500 risers. But this much exercise is worth the view. Carry 1 set of clothes to take bath in fall. Childrens and women can't go to exact fall point as water is deep in the way. Water falling intensity is that u can feel the little pain on your body. Ladies and children can bath nearby fall. Change room is there for ladies. Great place enjoy folks.

Good small trek experience here.
Around 1200 steps are there, starting u have to go downstairs. One need to buy ticket. It closes at 3pm.

And risky waterfall too

Wonderful location, great scenic view. This is a must visit location in Kolli hills. You have to claim down 1200 steps to reach the falls, so definitely not recommended for elderly people and for those who has knee problems. Part of the path way is steep down with height steps. Otherwise the steps are constructed properly and hand rails provided for safety.

Agaya Gangai waterfalls are located in Kolli Hills of the Eastern Ghats, in India. Panchanathi, a jungle stream, cascades down as the Agaya Gangai, near Arapaleeswarar temple atop the Kolli Hills in Namakkal district, Tamil Nadu. It is a 300 feet waterfall of the river Aiyaru. It is located in a mountain valley. Since its in summer. The flow of water is little less.. But when step in to the water we feel the chillness and when we reach near the falling spot. Be make sure of taking antibiotics after that. The force of water bit higher. Once it touches our body.. You will start feeling the pain.. Its one of the most underrated spot in tamilnadu 😁😁
Manjunath Vichu — Google review
One of the best explorer in life, has to go through more than 1000 staircase steps, very delightful place when you reach after the strain from staircase.
Lot of unshaped rocks will be there near falls, you've to be very careful while moving around.
Sathiaseelan T — Google review
This is just osum. Good place to visit.
The journey to reach this falls is good trekking experience. You will feel motivated, wondered and also exhausted at sometimes 😄
People who can't walk much due to illness, health issues or age, please avoid as we need to walk in steps for a Kilo Meter and steps are quite big at some point and quite perpendicular.
Kalai Arasan — Google review
Good place to visit and though for elders. But in general manageble for people who are active. There a string attached to get near to the waterfalls and metal bars to hold. It comes with its own risk so need to be careful while going to the fall. 600 steps to waterfall and climb back another 600 to top, so be ready for it.
Thamaraiselvan G — Google review
Best way to enjoy the nature, though it has 1196 steps to reach this place. The moment you see the falls you will forget everything and the energy you get around will blow your heart.
Best time to visit during weekdays less crowd and you can spend more time
Adhidhya Kugan — Google review
Overall experience 8/10.
The falls is really awesome one but better visit during the rainy season as it would be been more filled with water.
One can stand under the falls and experience much more. They have put a rope so that you can go and stand under the falling water.
No washrooms or dress changing rooms available for anyone.
The most biggest drawback is the pathway to reach the falls.
If you are not used to walking for long distances then DO NOT opt for this at all.
There are 1196 stairs. First one needs to climb down and it is very very steep and then reach the falls later climb back as well. Since we climb down first your legs would hurt badly after that , I have a muscle catch and my legs became stiff. Very painful the next day as well.
Entry ticket 30/adult and 20/child.
No carrying water bottles and if you are carrying they will add a sticker and take 10 6 and then refund the same once you show them the bottle while exit .
Timings are from 6am to 3pm only after that not allowed inside as it might get dangerous.
Overall ok if you exercise regularly or walk then you would love it
Best time to visit monsoon or raining.
Time duration takes almost one hour for one side.
Priyanka Venkatswamy — Google review
One of the best waterfalls in Tamil Nadu dripping from a height of 300 feet , one has to trek down about 1300 steps to reach the waterfall .
There are changing rooms for ladies at the foothill of the waterfalls.

The best place to relax is that you will have a lifetime experience. Not recommended for elders aged people
Getting a water bottle will help you in return.
The price of the ticket is 30 per adult.

This falls is very much enjoyable. compared to Aagaya gangai falls.. we had good time spending atleast 1 to 2 hours bathing multiple times. best part is it is less crowded / easily reachable from parking lot (like 10 minutes) and very safe for families. very good force of water which can be enjoyed by atleast 10 people at a time. plenty of greeneries and a small river to see while bathing under the falls. important thing is check with the hotel on the falls status before you go because there were few years in the past when the falls was dry it seems. car parking available. hire a cab from the hotel (safe and easy) if you have mobile signal problems to get the google maps working to reach the spot.

The most exciting part about this falls is that it's pure water that falls from the top. You can taste it 💦♥️ Apart from the nature, I like the local people and humble hospitality they offered through varieties of snacks, spices and fruits. After enjoying the falls one should enjoy the hot and spicy KUZHI PANIYARAM from Malliga Akka. 🌶️🍲

A good place to visit if we are travelling with elders as the travel distance from parking to falls is less. Ok ok place for youngsters. Mostly I was able to see family more. Water flow was just ok though it was 🌧 ☔️. Place is not at clean. It's our responsibility 😞 to keep places neat and clean. There is dress changing room for womens with very very poor maintenance. They charge us ₹40 to ₹50 as entry fees, not sure what they do with that money. Definitely requires maintenance a lot. Photos shows the water flow, cleaniness and maintenance.

Nice place to visit with kids as the force of water is adequate to enjoy and simple safety measures are in place. Just ensure there is enough water flow so that you can enjoy the clean and refreshing water falls. The pristine beauty surrounding the place is very refreshing
Puliancholai is a scenic village that boasts a picturesque mountain backdrop and is home to numerous teashops. It offers tourists an excellent opportunity to visit the Agayagangai falls, where they can indulge in trekking along with the stream. The water in the falls is crystal clear and provides visitors with an ideal spot for taking a refreshing bath during sunny weather. However, it can get quite chilly if you opt to take a dip at other times.
It's very good place for short outing. But too much rock and you should be very careful. This time February the water is still not clear I mean it's little bit dirty even it is flowing water. Last 3 months it is like that only. May be due to the adjacent construction or so. And there is a entry ticket for vehicle and public entry without any facilities.
Devaraj Thiyagarajan — Google review
Good place to visit with family and friends. Such places should be maintained clean and people visiting should avoid littering, horrible to see such beautiful place with lots of plastic wastes.
Best time to visit is from Sep till year end, also water flow depends on rainfall during other months. There will be a entry charge of RS. 10/- per person and Rs. 50/- for car parking The disadvantage is dress change room for ladies newly built is not yet opened and there is no other place for dress change.

Another under rated place which is about 70km (1hr 40 mins drive) from Trichy. This is a river flowing over a rock bed along the foot of the kolli hills. You can, albeit very carefully dwell into the river and take a dip, except at the places earmarked with danger signs. The surroundings are covered in green trees and there are some local people selling locally grown fruits and freshly caught fish and crab. The drive to the place is through villages and the views are absolutely beautiful. However what I didn't like is the up keeping of the surroundings, mostly because of irresponsible tourists. There was not even a dustbin to be seen anywhere. Plastic bottles and cups strewn everywhere, even with the limited number of visitors, have already started to take a toll on this pristine place. High time that the reserve forest people do something about the maintenance of the surroundings.

Part of the same ghat section, this place doesn't get as many visitors as its famous counterpart coutrallam. But the bathing experience is similar and more fun than at coutrallam owing to less crowd. The less crowd is due to the location of the place. This needs a entry permit (paid on arrival), and there is a one-way path to the falls from the gate (a distance of ~5KM). But it's worth the time spent in travel as you can bathe to heart's content. Downside is that there are no eateries nearby (nearest eatery is ~10KM away).

Arunachala is a sacred hill in the Hindu religion, featuring a temple dedicated to Shiva at its base. Visitors are advised to avoid summertime due to the heat, but can partake in the 14km pilgrimage known as Girivalam around the mountain at any other time. Choosing good hotels is recommended and negotiating rates with auto or car services before riding is encouraged. The locals of Thiruvannamalai are known for their friendliness.
Wonderful and very special place. Hiking a bit up the mountain to a lookout point is allowed but no further than that. It’s highly illegal. There is a volunteer organization that cleans the mountain, you can join them to be able to go higher than what’s allowed for the public. It’s a special feeling hiking up this mountain.

Virupaksha Cave is a significant meditation spot located on the eastern slope of Arunachala Hill. It was once inhabited by the 13th-century Saint Virupaksha Deva. The trek to reach this cave takes about 30 minutes from Skandasramam, with clear and well-paved trails and markings along the way. Visitors can access it via Ramana Ashram or the backside of Annamalayar temple Gopuram (Pe Gopuram).
This is the cave where Ramana Maharshi has meditated during his time finding the answers to the questions which were unknown to the tamed human brain.
Raman Maharshi has given so much wisdom and freedom of thought impressions through his very simple preachings.
This place reeks of the spiritual thoughts and diverse vibes to energise the people around and fill them with positivity.
There are two routes to reach this cave.
1. From inside the Ramana Maharshi Ashram by trekking around 2 km.
2. Reaching the cave by vehicle from outside and trek around 300 m.
The place is extremely peaceful for meditation but gets crowded with tourists at times.

Love the atmosphere in this small cave. But it's a tad inaccessible on a daily basis. Climb the holy Arunachala mountain barefoot.

One of the meditation caves in Mount Arunachala. Must visit places. There are two ways to reach this place.
1. Via Ramana Ashram
2. Via backside of Annamalayar temple Gopuram (Pe Gopuram)
People allowed here are to be maintained silent and meditation morning 8 Am till early eve it will be open. It's easy to climb the mountain to reach this first cave meditation place. It comes before the Skanda ashram while climbing via (2).
Every devotee must visit this place without fail once in their life.

Small dark cave where Raman Maharshi meditated. Pin drop silence. Nice place to meditate. Free entry. No interference of guides or brokers. Photo not allowed inside. We took photo of outside only. Trekking is interesting. You need 1 km trekking from the temple to reach this place. Walk further up to find Skandashram.

Silent yet divine. One can sit here and meditate for some time whilst maintaining total silence so as to not disturb others.. in total, maybe about 10 people can sit inside the circular shaped cave. Felt really good here for no reason..

Didn't expect to go up there but I did. Great place for meditation. Neither ashram authority nor City has done anything to put up signs or to make both route safe. You must ask someone to find out how to get there. Part of the treck is steep. No sign even on the main road. Take plenty of water with you. Always start early and come back before sunset as there are no lights. Language is also a problem because most people speaks only Tamil. Ashram accommodation are better then expected. So is the food inside the ashram.

This place is very historical and no one knows when the rocks are formed in there. You'll find a very pleasant wheather and adventurous too🤪. Make sure to visit them before 5:30pm. Else you'll disappoint. I'm attaching the pictures of the places nearby too one the same mountain. You can make use of them.

Profoundly peaceful and powerful energy field. Must visit if you’re looking to connect with Ramana’s frequency on a deeper level. I meditated in silence for about 4 hours and felt a sense of awakening and peace that is hard to describe in words. Grateful for the opportunity to experience this in my lifetime.

In this cave bhagavan Ramana Maharshi spent 17 years doing meditation. Very peaceful place. Don't disturb the environment. Don't throw plastic while trekking to this holiest place. A small Trek from behind the temple will lead to this place.

A wonderful experience
The places should be minted a bit specially the start of the trek to the cave
It's worth it totally
Be careful of the monkeys and dogs
Carry water or there is drinking water available in between in pots
The peace of mind which you get once you see the cave and sit in meditation inside is a wonderful experience which cannot be explained in words once has to experience the silence
Overall a wonderful experience
And reach before 4 :30 in the evening as it closes sharp by 4 :30
And you will need time to come back and its difficult to come back when it's dark if you are going for the first time
It's better to have some locals as guide so that you can know the best route to climb up and down

The Thillai Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu is a 1,000-year-old sacred site dedicated to Shiva. It features four separate seven-storey towers surrounding a central temple and spans around 40 acres in the heart of the holy town. As one of the Pancha Bootha Sthalam representing the five elements of earth, it exudes a peaceful aura and is revered as one of India's grandest and best-preserved temples.

Awesome spiritual experience. Large temple complex. Has 4 gates. If you go early, you will find parking on the adjoining roads. There is also a private bath and refresh facility near by, not very well kept though. Lot of adjoining restaurants. Go early to the temple, crowd will be less. There are also smaller temples around the main temple building, within the compound. Don't miss them.

Firstly, I would like to tell the reader that.. visit this fort if you admire history, love trekking, and adventure.
Though this fort is under ASI ( Archeological Survey of India), it is not well maintained, May be because a lot of tourists do not visit this place.
I request visitors to keep the place clean. It is disheartening to see plastic bottles.. etc thrown in each corner.
There is no issue of parking at this place. After parking the vehicle, it is advised to visit the toilet. After you enter the fort, there is no toilet. And no point doing it in the fort ( seriously).
Do not carry food in hand as the place has a lot of monkeys, and dealing with them within the fort can be very challenging. Carrying water will be nice as you can get dehydrated quickly under the sun.
Make sure you wear comfortable shoes as the treck is challenging and a proper grip will ensure safety.
Best time to trek will be before noon. You can buy tickets online by scanning the QR code.

Trekking was good. Trekking not allowed after 3pm..it takes atleast 2-3 hours to complete the trekking.. Need to take enough water before starting..will get suoer tired while going up.. Steap hills are there.. View from top is superb.. Trekking with kids not recommended..
On the way some monkeys may try to steal ur stuffs.
There is a natural water source in the top but it's spoilled by visitors.. Also walls are full of scribblings.. Visitors please don't do this.

It's a 1.5 km climb from the foothills to the Rajgiri fort. Visit early in the morning to avoid the heat. Climbing is not allowed after 3pm. Carry enough water, there will be none on the way during the climb. Well maintained by the ASI. You can book tickets online as well.

A great location and a good hiking spot. Be sure to reach before 3pm if you intend on hiking up the hill.
Do bring water as you cannot get any on the hike, and be prepared for a substantial hike.
And do NOT keep anything in your vehicle, especially if you're on a motorcycle, as the monkeys will ransack your vehicle at the parking by the time you're back
Govind K — Google review
Book tickets online before or using the QR code scanner. Show ID proof and enter. There are two hills to trek. The Rajagiri hill near the ticket counter has many monuments at the base to explore and then a long trek to the top. Better visit the base and monuments and then go to ranigiri, the second hill. Its a 45 minute one way steep trek to the top. Take water bottles. Beware of monkeys. Old Parents can sit at the base of the main ticket counter fort garden and wait while you cover the trek. The Rajagiri trek is 1.5h oneway but not that steep. A good place to visit and take photos.

One of the most beautiful place that I happen to visit on a road trip. Though just ruins now, it still holds a certain charm of the old Indian architecture. Built by the Kona dynasty and then further improved by the Cholas, this fort was impregnable and couldn’t be conquered by invaders for a long time. Eventually, the fort passed on from one dynasty to another and many additions were added. The British called it “Troy of East” because of it’s ingenious architectural marvel. Definitely worthy of a visit.

The fort is quite ancient, there are 3 nearby hilltops where some ancient buildings are there. It’s but difficult to reach the top, please carry water bottles during sunny days. Path is available to reach the top and in between some flat area. There is also a temple present while going up. At the top there is a temple with no idol and some buildings used in ancient days. There is a cannon in the middle of the trek. One fine place to visit for a day and you can carry back historical memory. There is a bridge connecting 2 mountains on the top which is the only way to reach. There in entry fees and restroom facilities are available and separate amount for car parking as well.

Place is cleanly maintained. There are two hills, and we went to the main one till the halfway mark..it was worthy trek to see how they hav built these things. Probably wil plan better and make it to the top next time. Installing some railings might help climb as we saw many senior people trying to climb too... Historically great place..

No professional Cameras, no Drones, no selfie stands. Videography is strictly prohibited in the premises. If at all you need to, please get a permission from archeological department or tourism department, Chennai. Feel free to take as many still photography on your mobile phones only. A check point available at fort entry to restrict carrying any above items.
A few structures at foot of the hill are maintained better compared to the top hill structures. A few empty buildings like tower, Gymnasium, granary, open assembly, huge pond and small mundaps are preserved and open for tourist visit. A few Huge trees added beauty and shade in the fort.
Hill climbing is easy with Rocky steps and dirt track but little lengthy and at some places the step's length is a bit short for a safe foot step, carry your water and snacks if planning for hill top, no facilities available as it is a preserved location by archeological department. A few mandaps on the way will provide good shades for resting. After all the efforts, the view is good but not as great as our efforts.
Bike parking - Rs. 15
Fort entry - Rs. 25
Toilet facility available at the entry of the fort.

Gingee Fort is an absolute gem and a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts. The fort's imposing architecture and strategic location are awe-inspiring. As you climb the hill to reach the fort, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The trek to the top is an adventure in itself, offering a perfect blend of nature and history.
The fort's complex comprises three main hilltops, each featuring its own set of historical structures, such as citadels, granaries, temples, and water tanks. The intricate details in the construction are a testament to the engineering marvels of its time. Exploring the fort's various sections allows you to immerse yourself in India's rich past.
While some areas may require a bit of physical effort to reach, the reward is well worth it. The panoramic vistas from the top are simply mesmerizing, making it an ideal spot for photographers and nature lovers alike. It's best to visit during the cooler months to make the most of the experience.
Remember to wear comfortable shoes and carry plenty of water during your visit, as there is a lot to see and explore. Local guides are available, and they can provide valuable insights into the fort's history and significance.
Overall, Gingee Fort offers a unique and memorable experience that combines history, nature, and adventure. Whether you're a history buff or simply love exploring ancient sites, this fort will leave you with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for India's glorious past.

This beach has one of the biggest coastlines in Tamilnadu, which people may find pleasant for casual walking purposes. The parking facility is adequate. The food stalls on the beach have items that are of moderate quality, and their taste is more like a hit and miss.
Kids will find camel riding and jeep driving entertaining. Due to the vastness of the beach, you can find enough space to play games like volleyball even when the beach is crowded. The long coastline also provides privacy.
Visits in the morning are highly recommended as there will be little crowd at that time. Toilet facilities need to be improved, though. Overall, a less expensive leisure spot for those in and around Cuddalore.

A must visit place and the best time to visit is on a cloudy day or at 4.p.m. The tickets for car parking and entry into the boathouse should be bought at the counter near the car parking. The tickets for boat ride can be bought inside. The breezy boat ride to the Paradise Island takes 15 minutes. The last boat to the island is at 4.0p.m. and the last boat from the island is at 5.30 p.m. If you are going to the island in the morning most shops in the island won't be open.

You get to sail in ferryboats over the backwaters and get down at the paradise beach. They charge approximately 350/ head for this ride. You can play on the beach and take up some beach activities as well. There will be frequent rides to the beach till about 5 in the evening and you can board any of them to make it back to the starting point of the ride.

You can spend 20 mints approx on back water derived from paradise beach. The boat experience looks fine. The ticket charges are around 350/- for Adults + Entry charges 10/- and Car parking 30/-. To bring out side food we need to pay Rs 40/- for each adult. All together 400/- adult and 200/- for Children's. Paradise beach is maintained well. The sand is clean. Approx 2 hours to 3 hours will spend in beach. Must visit place for tourist. This is my personal experience....

Worth the time spending at chunnambar and at paradise beach island. Activities are not so recommended as it’s very sub standard and definitely avoid the rain shower as people
Make it very dirty.
Enjoy the cool sea breeze and play with waves for children moderate horse ride can be done pay the price only for the poor horse which makes rounds and rounds effortlessly.

The boating experience is great. I got to see a lot of jellyfish and some dead one on the shore. Avoid sunny hours of the day. It's pretty hot. There are various activities on the beach. There are few shade areas to sit and chill.
sowndarya Balaji — Google review
For a spot where most of the rush is, I thought the people at the counter who gives the tickets will be quite unfriendly, moody ad they have to handle a lot of people, but to my surprise they were really polite and they waited if you want to lay via gpay/paytm and they were smiling and greeting us with proper gesture.
Place-
We had to take an entrance fee of Rs 10 per person and we had to enter. They had some restaurant /bar at the entrance, some snack shops inside and a ice cream shop as well for the kids.
But the queue was not maintained well to get to the boat.. They had a rope and people were standing in 5 queues inside them eventually leading to one queue near the boat. So everyone had to squeeze and many of them had themselves split by the push and had to wait. That's the only flaw and it took a longer time then usual as some of them pushed and went infront of the people waiting for a long time.
Prices-
Long drive: They had a normal price where its called a long ride, where they take you for a ride and bring you back and it costs around 250
Long drive plus beach: They also had anither where it was 354, where they take you for the ride, but also drop you at the beach and you can return in any boat until a certain amount of time. That's what we chose and they were all polite and ride itself was quite nice.
Speed boat: Another was speed boat.. We were not able to go in that as we had someone who was wearing a dress not suitable for that. It costs 2500 for 2 people and I can say it's worth it for the people who wants the fun.
Boats - it was old, and paints were gone at places, but I can understand they go into the beach many times a day and almost every day.. But it was not maintained well, as we had a cockroaches in our boat in our way and we had to see that instead of dea whether it's coming out or not, as there were ladies nearby and even some wore heavy dresses And needed to be extra careful.
Ride - Ride was fantastic. They didn't go that fast and it was worth a ride to the beach. We were able to see fishes jumping around and all the surroundings.

The journey begins with a leisurely boat ride through the picturesque canals, surrounded by lush greenery and mangrove forests. It's a mesmerizing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The knowledgeable boat guides share fascinating insights into the local ecosystem, making it an educational experience as well. As the boat glides through the calm waters, you'll witness breathtaking sunsets that paint the sky in hues of orange and pink. It's a photographer's paradise

Chunnambar Boat House in Pondicherry offers a delightful escape with its 3-4 km boat ride that takes you to the stunning Paradise Beach. The journey itself is a wonderful experience, as you glide through serene waters surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Paradise Beach is nothing short of its name – a pristine, sandy retreat that makes the whole trip worthwhile. The beach is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing or taking a dip in the ocean.
A special shoutout to our boat driver, who was not only skilled but also incredibly funny, adding an extra layer of joy to our memorable ride. His humor and stories made the trip even more enjoyable and left us all in great spirits.
The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the waiting time for the boats can be a bit long during peak hours. However, the overall experience more than makes up for it.
Chunnambar Boat House is a must-visit for anyone in Pondicherry looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation. Highly recommended!

The parking charges are ₹30 for car and the entry charges per person is ₹15.
The last ferry to paradise beach leaves at 4pm and from there back to the ferry point the last ferry is at 5 pm.
So plan your trip accordingly.

Must go place in Puducherry especially for kids who will definitely enjoy. There are 2 beaches one maintained by Government and other by private. Boat charge is ok (354/adult) and parking is limited but the beach is beautiful and has lot of fun activities (you need to for each). There are few restaurants and local shops. Best time to visit is either morning 9.30 or evening 3.30. The boat timing is from 9.30 to 4 pm only. The last boat to the beach starts around 3.45 pm so you have to plan accordingly. Overall it’s a good place to go.

It is a must visit place in Pondicherry. Ample parking space , they charge Rs 30 for 4 wheeler parking. It has some food eating joints inside. The last motorboat for Paradise Beach leaves at 4 pm. Motorboat and beach trip costs Rs 354 per head and it will take you atleast 3 hrs on a minimum to complete. One piece of advice , if you have money to spent, do take a speedboat. If you want a chill boat ride, do take a motorboat. The paradise beach is clean .

Entry point for boating to go to Paradise beach. There is nothing much. A fun zone, cricket net (₹180), small eateries (sandwich ₹120, pizza slice, burger, coffee, tea, cone icecream ₹60, water, soda, can beer). One okay restaurant. Decent parking place.
Anoop Kumar Pandey — Google review
You can take boat rides here as well as ferry to go to Paradise beach. For the ferry there is a wait time of 10-15 mins as they need 10-15 people for one ride. Other option is to rent a speed boat and go on your own but that is way too costly especially for just a couple of people
Saurabh Prabhu — Google review
This place is owned by the Pondicherry government of tourism. The place is well maintained and they do offer some good amenities like restaurants and restrooms. There is a big area for the children to play. Amble parking is also there the entry charges are a little on the highest side but it's okay. The biggest bummer I feel is the lack of safety for the boat passengers. There are no life jackets or other equipment if some mishaps happen. Apart from that, the experience was great there

Boat House to reach Paradise Beach . The must visit Sandy beach in Pondicherry, scenic , clean , best place to have leisure time with family and friends. To go to Paradise beach you can go by chunambar boat house in a ferry, 350/- per person. As we visited on Monday and it started raining we didn't enjoy anything at all. We only enjoyed the boat ride. And 1 food stall we got there in Paradise beach, tender coconut water also available.

There are long waiting queues here. The minimum wait time is 1 hr for catching a boat to Paradise beach. If you have a vehicle preferably drive down to Paradise beach...

350 rupees for one person in a big boat. It takes around 15 minutes or so to reach the beach from the port. If you are in a hurry then you can take speed boat, it costs more like 2k or so for 4 people. This fare is for drop to the beach and pickup from the beach. The vessels are old but its not that big or secluded place so looked safe and fun
A Mohammed — Google review
This place offers boating services to reach the paradise beach. The place is simple in good terms. There are variants of boats. Ferry , speedboats etc. Pricing is high for ferry services as multiple people are ferried at once. One thing I noticed is that there are life jackets on the boat but they didn't offer the jacket as a mandatory precaution. Life jackets may not be present in equal numbers as the people being ferried. No way to know. It should be improved. Overall the boat ride is very good and the beach is also wonderful where the boats ferry the people.

I'll break this review into 3 parts.
First is how to reach boat house from your stay in Pondicherry:
1) If you have your private vehicle or have taken two wheelers in rent, you can use that and go the boat house. Note, there is parking charges at the boat house that you'll need to pay.
2) If you are not having the above means of transportation, most people will ask you to take an auto and the auto is very expensive as per my opinion. They'll ask you anywhere upwards of 250-300 for like a 7km ride max. Also they might scare you saying return Autos will charge 500 from the boat house to your stay and that the auto you came in would wait for you and you can pay him the same amount but he's providing waiting as well.
3) Suggested to take little extra time and plan this if you do not have personal transportation. Go to Pondy main Busstand by shared auto. Shared auto cost generally ₹10 per head. From Pondy main Busstand, hop into a bus that goes to Nonankuppam. When you alight at Nonankuppam, the boat house entrance is right there. Return from boat house also can be planned the same way. Come out of Boat house and cross the road. You'll find some buses that stop and most are going to Pondy busstand.
Second is Fees and charges:
I don't know why but they charge you separate entry fees of ₹10 per head just to enter the boat house. Then you have parking fees if you have come in your own vehicles. Finally you have ferry charges of 354 per head for to and fro from the boat house to the Paradise beach. This is a small ferry ride approx 20 mins that will take you across the backwaters to the Paradise beach. I'm not aware of any other option to reach the beach as it is an isolated Island beach. In my personal opinion, i feel this cost is on the higher side. Boat house opens at 9:00 am and the first ferry leaves at 9:30 am.
Paradise beach experience:
It is a pristine, clean white sand beach. There's not much of Shade available though. Also once you reach there, you have restricted access to part of the beach only. The other part is a private beach and you are not allowed to go there unless you have a stay booked there. This spoils the experience a little. We went on a Monday morning in the first ferry. There was no rush as we were only 10-12 people in the first ferry ride. The beach is good to play in. The washroom/change room and shower facilities are very average and can be improved a lot. You might find 1-2 places for some food. There are some extra experiences available there but we did not see it operating in the morning.

Paradise Beach in Puducherry is a beloved destination for both locals and tourists. The beach boasts golden sands, blue waters, and palm trees, offering a tranquil escape from city life. Visitors can enjoy the simple seafood restaurant, restrooms, and rattan shaded areas. Boating to the beach takes 10-15 minutes but offers a chance to picnic on an island-like setting with various activities available until evening.
The best beach I've ever experienced in my life so far. The sand is so fine and clean. Anyone who visits for the first time will definitely fall in love with the beach. There are many activities to have fun and spend some quality time.

On one side of this Beach, there is Sankaraparani River and on the other side Bay of Bengal, so this place is a visual treat especially in the evenings after 4PM.
There are many activities available here for both kids and adults. Camel Ride they take till 500 metres to and fro and charge about 236 per person, which is probably little high!
One good point to highlight is they clean the trash on the shore regularly so that it does not get into the sea and at the same time gives a very good, private beach feeling to the visitors. 👍
Although shores are maintained clean, path leading to sea from boating point is very dirty and not at all maintained clean and that’s the only reason for four stars.

If you wanna kill time or plan picnicking on an island like place, this will be a great choice. There will be 10-15 mins of boating to reach the place (it costs some bucks,a little pricey), and after it, you will be allowed until eve to try different activities, bathe, and enjoy riding. Return boats are available every 15 minutes, we came by the last boat. Seafood is affordable and tasty here: they also have a restaurant inside. The beach is clean, and individual huts were there to chill. Try avoiding weekends, huge crowd can be there.

There's a ticket amount of Rs: 70/80 per head.
It's a blue flaged beach, Which means we can play in water but for your safety no swimming.
Showering is available there after the sea bath
Pub, four-wheel safari, playground are available here and there within their premises.

Paradise Beach, located in Pondicherry, is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. This picturesque beach is an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility, relaxation, and a touch of nature's beauty.
Upon arriving at Paradise Beach, one is immediately captivated by the pristine white sand, which stretches as far as the eye can see. The turquoise waters are inviting, offering a refreshing dip for those looking to cool off from the Indian sun. The beach is well-maintained, with clean surroundings and a sense of order that ensures a comfortable and enjoyable visit.
One of the highlights of Paradise Beach is its serene and peaceful atmosphere. Unlike some crowded beaches, this haven remains relatively untouched, providing visitors with a sense of solitude and an opportunity to unwind. The lack of commercialization and noise pollution allows visitors to truly connect with nature and appreciate the beauty that surrounds them.
The beach is easily accessible by a short boat ride from Pondicherry's Chunnambar Boat House(Rs. 354/- per ticket), adding to the adventure and excitement of the visit. The boat ride itself offers a scenic view of the coastline and the opportunity to witness local marine life.

Paradise Beach will undoubtedly leave you with cherished memories and a sense of rejuvenation.

Oh, joyous day! Ventured into Pondy's ancient church, expecting architectural wizardry. It's like the grand old dame of churches, standing proudly in the town's belly. Bike parking is easier to find than your misplaced keys.
With a history that could out-age your grandma's recipe book, did it awe with architectural brilliance? Well, more like it's doing its own funky dance in the architectural realm – different, but not exactly winning an award.
In the heart of town, it's as peaceful as a sloth on a Sunday afternoon. Visited during what felt like the church's exclusive "No People Allowed" hours. If you're spiritually inclined, it's the holy grail. They even have seats for the holy mass – not La-Z-Boy level comfort, but who needs a plush seat when you're busy communing with higher powers?
So, step right in if you're on a quest for divine sarcasm or just want to witness a rebellious twist in the architectural saga. A round of applause for the architectural rebel! 🏰🤭

I was particularly impressed by the stained-glass windows, which depict scenes from the Bible. The colors are so vibrant and the detail is incredible. I spent a good long time just looking at them and trying to take it all in.
The church is also very peaceful. Even though it was a bit crowded when I visited, it was still a very calming place to be. I would definitely recommend taking some time to sit and reflect in the quiet of the church.

Very piece full temple and the darshan was very blissful and spent there more than an hour and the elephant out of this temple is very cute and so active. Bit the shop near the temple selling things for 10times on its cost. Don't but idols here if you need to buy any idols just prefer?Mahabalipuram, there you can buy in a reasonable price. Beach near this temple is one of its highlight. Totally awesome place to visit. Powerful temple to visit and get blessings from lord Vinayakar

It's such a beautiful and devotional place of worship. I felt divine upon visiting this wonderful temple. It was almost a moving(emotional) experience. For a North Indian person, this temple is one of its kind devotional experience. The temple is really very BEAUTIFUL. One feels a lot of calm upon entering inside the temple. Various idols and sculptures of Lord Ganesh and several other Gods is present there. One feels really positive and refreshed after visiting the temple.

Brilliant art work at entrance and inside the temple.
The interior lighting in combination with natural lighting is thoughtful & neat.

Pics won't do justice to the temple, paintings and artwork, we have to see in person.
Street parking available.
Paid footwear booths available at both side entrances.
Archanai items available at north side entrance alone.

A truly enchanting experience.
From the moment I stepped foot into the temple premises, I was enveloped in a sense of peace and serenity that is truly rare to find.
The temple's architecture is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, which gives it a unique and inviting ambiance.
The intricate carvings on the walls and the vibrant colors used in the decorations add to the visual appeal of the temple.
As I walked around the complex, I couldn't help but be in awe of the attention to detail that went into every aspect of its design.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the main sanctum where the magnificent idol of Lord Ganesha is enshrined.

Very good architectural and beautiful Ganesha temple in the heart of the Pondicherry town.
Not the big queue, so you get darshan easily. Lots of shops around to purchase puja material.
Walking distance from rock beach and all major attractions of white town.
The elephant used to be there in front of temple is no more 😟

The temple is more than 500 years old and dedicated to Ganesha. You can give Pooja for 280 rs. We went early in the morning, so it was not crowded at all. Made in Dravidian architecture style, it's colorful and even has a set of beautiful frescoes in the ceiling near the entrance

A small, clean and my favourite temple in Pondicherry. This place is always special because of the way they maintain it clean, align crowd decently. You must go here in morning times to feel the energy. There are flower shops outside, you may buy some or ignore - no one pressure us like other temples. Parking is difficult, you have to park in other streets.

I am sad I couldn’t click pictures inside and the pictures don’t even do justice to the peace and serenity this place offers. I am so much in love with this place. The heart rate automatically just calms down and your heart is full. It was crowded but no one pushed or hurried you to do the Darshan. The pandits were so nice and happy. Unfortunately Laxmi, the elephant had passed away and I couldn’t get her Darshan but still this place is just not to be missed during your pondi trip.

It is centrally located about 50 meters from famous Aurobindo Ashram. The carvings on walls are very beautiful. Just outside temple there is elephant Laxmi which gives blessings on head if you feed her or give her a 10 rupee note. It is a major attraction with all visitors irrespective of age. Luckily it was not crowded when we visited in the morning.

Last week me and my friends visited this temple. This temple is it is situated in the heart of Puducherry town. The temple's architecture is a masterpiece, blending intricate details, vibrant colors, and timeless design. It's a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the region.
As soon as you enter the temple premises, you're enveloped in a serene and tranquil atmosphere. The temples atmosphere making the visit a pleasant and enlightening experience.I had a different experience from other temple because the temple architecture and painting are light up more attractive.it is a blended modern and old Tamil architecture.Learning about the history and cultural significance of the temple added depth to the visit. It's not just a religious site but a place of cultural importance. The temple was well-maintained, and cleanliness was evident throughout the premises, which enhances the overall experience. The temple tends to get crowded, especially during festivals and holidays, which can affect the peacefulness. Visit during off-peak hours for a more serene experience.

The Arulmigu Manakula Vinayagar Temple in Puducherry is a really old and famous spot where people come to feel close to Lord Ganesha. It's known for its spiritual vibes and rich history. This temple is a special place for Hindus and it's a good break from the usual hustle of life.
If you're visiting Puducherry for a week or two, it's worth making time to visit this temple at least once. People believe that if you pray to the main deity, who is a form of Lord Ganesha, with all your heart, he'll help you overcome obstacles and grant your wishes.
The history of this temple goes back about 500 years, and there are a couple of interesting stories connected to it. One story says that during the time when the French were ruling, they built a fort near the temple in 1688. They wanted to move the Vinayagar Temple to make their fort more imposing. They even tried to throw the Ganesha idol into the sea, but each time they did, it somehow came back. Eventually, they gave up and started worshipping the Lord themselves.
Another tale says that about 300 years ago, a saint with special qualities achieved enlightenment at this spot. Since then, people have considered it lucky for newborn babies.

The Promenade Beach in Puducherry is a popular tourist destination with a wide range of attractions, including a promenade, war memorial and park. The beach is notable for its beautiful view of the sea and is popular with walkers and sunbathers.
Visited this beach for experiencing Sunrise in the early morning. Very peaceful and calm beach and very neat and clean, a walkers' paradise. Besides the beach lies top hotels of Pondicherry with absolutely gorgeous views of the sea from the sea facing rooms of this hotel. Wishing to stay in one of these during my next trip to Pondicherry. The beach was clean to an extent however some places specially in rocks you can see some littering. Though the view was great specially the early morning view during sun rise, a place must visit to relax as you listen to the sounds of waves crashing and spend some quality time with your loved ones.
As no vehicles are allowed near sea shore it's very peaceful.

Nice beach. Near to the most of the attractions in the city. Best time to visit is early mornings as it will be less crowded. Worth to visit in the evening too as it will be very happening. This is walking zone and Car parking is available near the rock beach (almost like an extension of the promenade beach). Eateries and restaurants are around and you can enjoy lunch and dinner viewing sea. Definately not advisable for swimming.

Promenade beach also known as rock beach( bcoz of many rocks) is a popular spot among the tourists in pondicherry. It is a best place for morning or evening walk by beachside. The promenade walk is morethan one km stretch from war memorial to duplex park. You can enjoy sunset or sunrise by munching some snacks available Beachfront with loved ones. Any Vehicles movement is prohibited in this area so one must park their vehicle on the parallel road. This beach is very calm and clean which gives you nostalgic feel. Unlike other beaches it's not much safe to get into water ( to swim). There are many rocks on the beach so be careful if you are going near water just to play. If you are beach lover then enjoy the fresh breeze, beautiful sunrise/ sunset in this beach.

One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to relax and unwind in such a peaceful setting. The beach was the perfect place to sit and watch the waves, or to take a leisurely stroll along the water's edge. The scenery was breathtaking and the atmosphere was incredibly calming.
In addition to the peaceful atmosphere, the Promenade Beach also had several amenities and facilities, including food stalls, restrooms, and beach rentals. These added to the convenience of the location, making it easy to spend a full day at the beach.

One of the best places to spend your morning walk and a great place to relax during the evenings but it might get too crowded from time to time. Historical spots nearby to visit. This beach is meticulously kept and boasts numerous dining options and street vendors, creating a lively atmosphere. The street itself is an entertaining hub, dotted with historical landmarks like the iconic lighthouse. However, during the evenings, it tends to get overwhelmingly crowded due to its popularity among visitors. Despite the crowds, it remains a picturesque spot offering a blend of history, gastronomy, and vibrant energy for a memorable visit.

Great place for a evening stroll on the side walk.. beach is not that clean as you get to see lots of glass bottles, plastic shattered all along the sand ...

One of the devotional places with a maintained ambiance. Gents will be asked to remove shirts and tees before entering the sanctum. Open car parking is available. Veg restaurant are available and well maintained restrooms are available for gents and ladies separately.
The only concern I have felt is, they will be deciding how much you have to do offering to God and better to keep 50's separately to do bhiksha in and around the temple since they aren't accepting 10's and 20's. Apart from that, this is a must visit place near Chennai. (Must be approximately 93-95kms from Airport)

The sadhu who built this temple hails from this region.
It is a private property with access to the public to see the lord. They don't have an Hundi but they take offerings in cash after deepam!!
The temple is well maintained. Neat and clean. Limited parking is available in front of the temple.
More cars or buses can be parked in the open ground next to the temple.
Men are asked to remove the shirt / banian when entering the Garbagraha..
During Iyyappan or Melmaruvathur season , this place is crowded. On weekends too it is crowded.
During a normal week day it might be less crowded.

Resembling the design of Puri Jagannath, this temple stands majestically with a 120 feet tall tower and Gold Kalasas of 9.5 feet with Sudarsana Chakra above. Lord Panduranga is 12 ft tall. Most of the time satsang and bajans are happening here. At that time if we go we are lucky to hear bajans and we can have good food. But no place to reside near if we go in closed timings. We have to sit outside in open place until the temple is open.

Sri Panduranga Swamy temple is a part of the Dakshina Yaatra (The southern Yatra) which is not so popular among the urban crowd but from the information at the temple it seems to be a pretty important journey for a Hindu.
This Yaatra includes Tirupati-Kanchi-Arunachalam apart from this temple.
This particular temple has a very large compound with temples of multiple deities.
You’ll find
Panduranga Swamy
Meenakshi Sundareshwara Swamy
Lakshmi Narayana Swamy
Goshaala inside this compound
The goddess’s idol here is depicted with 10 hands which cuts down your 10 deviations and diversions from life.

This sanctuary attracts wildlife enthusiasts and tourists alike, being one of the most popular destinations in Tamil Nadu. Previously known as a hunting ground for aristocrats due to its diverse population of local and migratory birds, it now offers an opportunity to observe these species in their natural habitat.
Nice place for bird watchers. Have a binocular handy to enjoy watching birds. Binoculars available for rent outside the sanctuary. Entry fee Rs.10 for adult and Rs.5 for children above 5 years. There is a watch tower inside for which have to pay 20 per head. Almost 1 KM stretch walking aside in the sanctuary. We could find about 5 to 7 varieties of birds.

The entry fee here is Rs10 per adult and Rs30 for mobile camera. In the entrance there will be roadside shops for renting binoculars. They will charge Rs50 - Rs100 for one hour according to the quality of binoculars. Binoculars are a must to watch birds.(if you have long focus lens camera or loon zoom camera mobile then binoculars are not mandatory) While Renting your binoculars, check the lens and view. There will be a bunch and bunch of birds in the sanctuary. Mostly the birds are of upto 5-6 varieties. From mid February to mid march you can see several varieties of foreign birds. In the sanctuary there will be a Telescope tower, in which you can go on the stairs and they have 4 telescopes. They charge Rs20 per person for the telescope tower separately inside the sanctuary. The telescope there are very bad conditions and they are not clear to watch. But from that tower we can watch birds with our rented binoculars or camera, the view will be good. There is a pay and use restroom. They charge Rs5 per person. Restrooms are clean.

Nice place for various birds 🦅 sanctuary. One watch tower is there from there the view is good. Need to have at least long focal lens to cover birds. Best time is during the rainy season November to February.

Chirp! Chirp!! Beautiful pleasant place for Birds visit for anyone. Visited during February month (winter season is the best option) and suggested timing is during the evening, from 4 PM (to avoid sun and heat). Have seen lots of varieties of birds and got immersed in their elegance and sound of chirping. Forget everything and just live the moment to feel the peace. The sunset on the other side took away the moment to the next level. Binocular view strongly suggested! 👀 You never be disappointed as like in the Zoo that animals may be resting inside the cave. Birds will just fly and swim their way 🕊️🦢

It's open, visit in morning for good view(no sun against) and take pictures. Binoculars are available on rent outside. Very nice road right upto the entrance. No restaurants nearby but you'll get fruits and snacks at the entrance.

First experience is best experience, this place is very much nature own location, it's really a treat for the visitors. The area is very much admired, and the atmosphere is very delighted and well maintained and clean, will definitely recommend this bird sanctuary to people who I have known. Because I hope everyone would love this place. Site seen pleasant and unbelievable, they have build towers and visitors do have lake view area with seaters. Trees are covered all over the place that is remarkable and value added in summer and sunny time. I will suggest to go on slight rainy time you feel exceptional with that climate in particular, Sanitation is fine and drinking water taps attached with animals statue next to the walking pavements every few distance, you do have Ample parking space area (Open). Entry Tickets are very cheaper, but for camera and mobile seperate ticket they charging, you have options for binacular for rental in shops nearby. Small food shops for basic eatable items.

The oldest Bird sanctuary and also perhaps the only one that has numerous winged visitors is Vedanthangal . Though we couldn't spot more than just two birds , the season from October to March usually brings in varieties of birds .
What I like about the place is that it's well maintained , with tiled walkways. Women workers were busy cleaning and I couldn't find a single piece of plastic / waste in the entire stretch .
For viewing the birds , there should be more watch towers . The lone tower is old and can accomodate hardly ten persons - shudder to think how it would be during the peak season.
Season supposedly brings Egrets , Herons , cormorants , storks , pelicans etc .
Parking lot should be widened to accommodate more vehicles . The staff at the ticketing counter was courteous and helpful.

It was a pleasant surprise to witness so many birds so close at the Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary last week on a week day. Entry fee was Rs 10 per adult with Rs 50 for cameras.
The park, walkway, watch tower, restrooms, water dispensers, etc were maintained very neatly, Enough car parking slots for a fee of Rs 30 per car. Lots of eateries like fresh cut mango, cucumber, native guava, tender coconut, etc were available at the entrance. Binoculars were to available for rent at Rs 50 per hour.
Good Hotels for Lunch NOT available. One may pack variety rice / snacks from home as lunch is not served there.
Worth a day-trip with family & children from. Chennai. ( about 70 km from Chennai.)

My Travel Experience
Get there early
Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is open from Sun Rise to Sun Set. Please get here early before 7am before the birds go in search of food in the nearby fields.
On my way to Vedanthangal
When I was on the way to Vedanthangal and near the Bird Sanctuary, I was able to feel the calmness and lot of agricultural fields. Surrounded by greenery everywhere. This is the major reason why these birds would have made this place as their breeding ground.
Parking
I was expecting a large parking lot or a designated parking lot, similar to Vellode Bird Sanctuary in Erode, TamilNadu. However, there was enough space on the road side near the entrance to park my vehicle.
Get your Binoculars
Anyone who want to see the birds with good detail and closer, could rent the Binoculars at the Ticket counter. I brought my own Binacular and felt it was worth they recent buy. I recommend Nikon Aculon A211 12 x 50 Binocular or Olympus Binocular 10x50 if you are really interested in Bird watching or Star gazing.
What type of lens to use ?
I used my Canon EOS Rebel T6 Camera with a 300mm lens to take the photos and videos. However, I would recommend 600mm to 800mm lens to get a much closer picture.
Toilets and Cleanliness
The Bird Sanctuary has good pavement to walk and see the birds. There are designated spots where people could sit and have the food that they have brought with them. The dust bins are available almost every few yards and they are enclosed to protect wildlife from feeding on trash. The toilets were well maintained and I would definitely appreciate the staffs working here.
Don't miss the Tower
There is a small tower in Vedanthangal that provides a better view of the entire place and better spot to get a closer picture of the birds,
Small Bird Sanctuary
The trees that grow in Vedanthagal lake help these birds to build their nest safely surrounded by water. The entire place was beautiful and the birds were calm and relaxing at this place, as if they are at their home, feeling safe and not much to worry about. however, I felt my trip ended within 2 to 3 hours after my arrival. I was surprised that it was small, as I wanted to go further and see few more birds around this water bird sanctuary.
My interest for bird watching
After visiting this place I got more interested in watching Birds and want to take a closer picture of these beautiful creatures. I went to Vellode Bird Sanctuary after visiting Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary. Checkout my travels blogs.

Went in April first week and the place was full of birds like flowers on trees. Most of them were painted storks and herons. There were also a few pelicans, ducks etc. There's a nice walkway with coverings, benches and watch towers. The place is affordabsolutely clean. Toilets are also maintained well. Surprisingly very little crowd in a weekend morning. Binoculars are available for rent in private stalls at the gate.

It's a birdwatching paradise. You can see hundreds and even thousands of birds in post monsoon season. It opens at 6 am. I have been better multiple times and highly recommend a vist here if you are a birdwatcher. You can spot multiple species of Storks, Pelicans, Egrets, Cormorant, Flamingo etc. It also has watch towers and it is clean and well maintained.

Entry ticket would be Rs 10 from age 11 onwards. Mobile camera charge would be Rs 50. Binocular rent would be Rs 100 for one hour. Better buy a good and brand one to see the clear view of birds. We can spend 2 hours effectively and can carry food and have it inside. The place was very clean and neat. Monkey was roaming and should be careful on food bags. We have seen around 10 types of birds. The climate was good.
Proper car parking was Limited and we can park the car on the road side...

I visited with family in Feb 2024, I was surprised to see so many birds just chilling on the water! Lakhs of birds mostly pelican different varieties of cranes, and ducks, goose all were staying with their families in nest catching fish. Well constructed pavements to walk and you can take a stroller if you got a kid. Take your binoculars the ones they rent outside are broken. Take your cameras(good ones) to do nice memorable pictures. Tickets are very cheap for entrance around 30rs and car parking 30rs.

Great place to visit with family, especially for bird lovers. Best time to visit is between November to February and can extend till April, but the number of birds might get reduced. Open from 6am to 6pm but the best time to visit is in the evening after 4pm when the birds start returning to feed their young ones. Entrance ticket is Rs.25 and Rs.20 for Mobile cameras for a family and seperate charges for camera. There is a watch tower from where you can see the complete Sanctuary. You can also pay Rs.20 additionally and watch the birds from 2 powerful telescopes, it's worth it. Also, we got binoculars rented for Rs.100 at the entrance. Binoculars are rented for Rs.50 and Rs.100 and went for Rs.100 binocular after trying out many of them. We went on a weekday and there were very few visitors. Car parking is not that great and very limited nearby.

On the way view is good if u go early morning the road view is nice.

Brick & limestone ruins of a fort built in 1735 in a secluded, seaside setting with scenic views.
I would recommend this place to those who love serenity and peace. And those who had strong imagination power to sit around the sea shore of this fort and imagine all the battles this fort faced. Even British demolished this on 1760 to win over French colonies. That period it was a fort cum port for traders. Though today nothing much left except the boundary walls, its great to visit in early morning in January 2023.

Wonderful and sobering reminder of our history. The ruins of Alamparai Fort are not much to see, but what is there has stood the rest of time. There is evidence that some restoration has been attempted but too little too late. The red brick walls stand in stark contrast to the sky and sea.
Would be good to have some dustbins and cleaning done on the site, remove the trees and plants growing between the cracks of the existing structures. Has potential to be developed as a pleasant historical picnic spot for families.

C3 Cinemas, Laurel Mall is a vibrant entertainment destination that offers a mix of retail and leisure concepts. It boasts an open-air amphitheater on the third level and wide-open waterfront spaces for recreation and entertainment. Visitors can enjoy a top-notch theater experience with excellent screen and audio quality. The venue also prioritizes hygiene and offers ample parking, making it an ideal spot for moviegoers in Chennai.
The theater experience was better than a few screens in Chennai. The audio was a bit louder but you won't feel it after a few minutes into the movie. I'd rate this theater as a best one in Chengalpattu. Overall a good experience.

There's absolutely no maintenance. Chairs in the theaters have holes. The theater is big but it is completely outside of Chengalpattu. Screen looks dirty. Ground looks dirty. Sound is loud but the audio randomly switches between stereo and mono. A very bad experience.

Not to be quoted as Laurel 'mall'. They have few fun activities but not worth to experience. Location and ambience are good.. suggested for families too.
Theater seats are not good and bathrooms are not neat though, cafeteria is okay only and popcorns are worst.
Well maintained and Huge parking space and rest area

It had 2 screens.. But only in one screen they're showing show.. Screen and seats are good.. But worst audio experience.. It felt like watching movie in mobile because of the audio experience..
It can't be said as mall. No shops.. Literally NO shops are there inside mall..
And one of the biggest concerns is the connectivity to the location. It's located in highway where people coming in own vehicle can reach easily.. But people who are using public transport can't reach there that easily.. Moreover if it's night time that's it.. No buses, no autos. Even if you get auto they will cost hell lot..

I recently visited this movie theatre and was extremely disappointed with the experience. First off, the air conditioning was not turned on, making the entire place uncomfortably hot and stuffy. The seats were old and smelly, clearly in need of replacement or at least a good cleaning. Despite charging a hefty ticket price of 210 rupees, the screen quality was surprisingly poor, making it difficult to enjoy the movie. On top of that, they even had the audacity to charge an additional 40 rupees for parking! Overall, a complete waste of money and a highly unsatisfactory experience. Would not recommend.

Very worst seating. Most of the seats have no armrest. Some seats scratching the hand. It seems theater is not maintained well. This theater is not of ppl. This theater is only for their earnings. It's a 3 screen theatre which is not a mall actually (don't know why it's called so??)
The water space and gardens are awesome to look.
I have been here since it's opening day
Few shops are open now and then but still it's not a perfect place for shopping.
One screen named LUX has Dolby Atmos and others don't have
Screens are good but still sound systems are that great.
Snacks and beverages are okay
It used have a variety of options.
Arcade games are available here for children and adults as well.
Depending on the crowd they are opened.
Seats are damaged and sometimes I feel the shows are not in regular time.
The theatre maintenance is okay.
The refund and cancellation of shows is big issue here. Its frustrating to hear that shows are cancelled at the last moment.
The best way to reach here is only using personal transport
It's very hard to find frequent public transport services especially in night times

I would like to share my review of C3 Mall, which is conveniently located near my home.
The mall offers both car and bike parking, but it's worth noting that the entrance is a bit small, accommodating both bikes and cars. Consequently, it may take some time to find a parking spot, so I recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before your movie starts.
Personally, I don't highly recommend this place. While it boasts three screens, Screen 2 often experiences interruptions during the movie, with moments of playing without audio. Additionally, the seats are rather basic, and some are broken. I've observed this issue for around a year, and unfortunately, they haven't addressed or repaired the broken seats.
On a positive note, there is a play area for kids. However, the cost might be considered high when compared to the quality. It's worth mentioning that the mall is still under construction for some shops.
Overall, while the mall has some positive aspects, the issues with the screens and seating have been persistent, impacting the overall experience.

I had a bad experience there ,
I went for the movie Brahmastra it's mentioned that it's a 3d movie and the prices are added for the glass too I booked it online so I paid with GST . But the movie is screened in screen 3 is actually 2d . Most of the people didn't notice it ,the ppl who noticed raised question they didn't even try to sort out the issue they just said " 2d la parunga illana kasu vangitu kelampunga " in such an arrogant way . I watched the whole movie and got my refund for the glass ( not my gst I paid on the app).
But people who didn't claim ,the management didn't pay their refund which belongs to them actually.
Coming to their snacks area,
They had puffs ( veg and non -veg) I went out while this 2d and 3d issue went on I found nothing on the snacks area . In the 10 to 20 min interval I went there they had puffs there i ordered veg puffs it was not even warm . Total waste of money
I leave it to whoever reads this whether it's a new stock or old .
Theatrical Experience,
It's very uncomfortable to sit , the side holders are broken, it even made a sratches on my hand .
While roaming around I found there some renovations works hope they will do it inside the movie theatre too..
It's the worst nightmare .

Krishnas Butterball is an unusual tourist attraction in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, India. The 260-ton granite boulder is perched on a downhill slope and is either standing or resting on its base. The rock is said to be the resting place of Krishna, the Hindu deity who stole butter from his mother's butter handi.
It's one of the nature's mistry. The massive stone standing on a sloped rock with minimum support at the base. Perfect example of super natural things in this world even the science cannot answer.
For someone it looked like Krishna's butter ball. Nice thinking!! Must visit place for all ages. Nice place for selfies and photography!!!!!

It is a massive 20 feet high and 5 meter wide rock stands on a slippery slope of a hill on less than 4-feet base. It is called as Krishna's Butter Ball.🏀
According to Hindu mythology, when the great god Krishna was just a baby, he was fond of stealing butter. Following this tradition, the big orange stone has been likened to a giant dollop of purloined butter that the god dropped.

Awesome place to hang around. Under construction remains of temples just gives a feeling how much more man life's work left to complete a temple to be carved out of single stones. I have been in Chennai for more than 10 years, but I never visited Mahabalipuram. Actually I planned multiple times to visit these historic places to explore and gain experience, but it took more than 10 years to come to this place. Unlike other tourist places, in Mahabalipuram we need to roam around to visit the different places. Earlier I thought of taking a single ticket to get a complete exploration, but the reality is totally different. When we reached/entered the bus stand we didn't know where to visit first and asked for parking. The local guy asked me to park the vehicle just opposite to the bus stand, later I came to know that the place was "Sea shore Temple". We parked our vehicle near that temple, and we first went to visit Krihna's butter ball place. Entrance fee was 40 rupees per head (below 15 years entry is free) and there was no extra cost for Camera. It was very hot Saturday afternoon, and the entire area was filled with hot sunlight. We slowly explored the places inside the premises. At the entrance, the great Krishan's butter ball welcomed us with its giant look. Right hand side we could see a rock temple which has a collection of sculptures and a few big trees. There was a wide grass lane where our kids could run and enjoy their time. We need to start exploring the place from the left side. We could see some bigger rocks and a few sculptures. Inside the premises, we can buy some snacks to settle down the heat, we bought some mangoes, cucumber, butter milk and water bottles. There was a museum located inside the campus, they charged 10 rupees again (but optional only), also to explore the lighthouse we needed to pay 10 rupees again. The terrible part is each time, we have to pay 20 rupees for DLSR cameras. Exploring light houses is up to the individual's own risk, the steps and the viewpoints are very dangerous. People who are keen on exploring the viewpoint along with kids please think twice before you step into the view point. We can exit after the lighthouse which leads to the way for five rathas mandapam. Overall its a good place to explore but personally I feel, this is not the place to explore during summer-it's very hot and we easily dehydrate very quickly.

Krishna's Butterball is a gigantic granite boulder resting on a short incline in the historical coastal resort town of Mamallapuram in Tamil Nadu state of India. It's a must visit place in Mahabalipuram.
The boulder is approximately six metres (20 ft) high and five metres (16 ft) wide and weighs around 250 tonnes. It seems to float and barely stand on a slope on top of 1.2-meter (4 ft) high plinth which is a naturally eroded hill and is said to have been at the same place for 1,200 years.

This place is a beauty of its own. You will be amazed by the architectural aspects of this. This has no relation to lord Krishna but it is just named as Krishna's butter ball. Krishna's Butter Ball is a unique and intriguing natural rock formation located in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, India. The massive boulder, seemingly defying gravity as it precariously balances on a slope, is a popular tourist attraction.
Visitors often marvel at the colossal size and peculiar shape of Krishna's Butter Ball. The site offers a picturesque setting, and the historical and cultural significance adds to its appeal. However, as it is primarily a natural wonder, the experience might be brief, and some visitors may desire more detailed information or additional amenities.
In summary, Krishna's Butter Ball is a fascinating geological formation that captivates with its size and balance, making it a worthwhile stop for those interested in nature's wonders and historical sites.

One of the most calm and serene places in Mahabalipuram. The area is vast, lots of rock carvings and formations. The spotlight being the butter ball which itself makes you wonder how it stays on a slope without falling. The surrounding lawns are well maintained. There are a lot of spots to sit and relax on top of the rock and it's windy there making it even better.

The massive, ancient rock relief carving of gods, people and elephants is a crowning masterpiece of Mamallapurams stonework. The carvings depict different stories from the Mahabharata in scenes of everyday South Indian life. In the centre, nagas (snake-beings) descend a once water-filled cleft, representing the Ganges.
The “Descent of the Ganges” is a well-loved Hindu story about the origins and religious significance of the sacred Ganges river.
Many of the figures carved are in life size. The natural cleft, a very large perpendicular fissure, is skillfully sculptured.

The Descent of the Ganges isn't just a visual feast; it's also a spiritual journey. The mythology behind it tells the story of Lord Shiva summoning the River Ganges to descend from the heavens to Earth. This narrative holds immense significance in Hinduism and visiting this site felt like stepping into a sacred realm. The sense of tranquility and reverence that envelops the area is truly remarkable.
The site is well-maintained, and the surrounding gardens add to its allure.
I must commend the local authorities for their efforts in preserving this cultural heritage. Additionally, the presence of clean facilities and ample parking made my visit hassle-free.
I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to witness this extraordinary site, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an enriching and memorable travel experience.

Definitely a must visit place. Descendant of the Ganges also known as Arjunas penance is pretty huge that it is difficult to cover all of it in a frame unless you take it from the other side of the road. It has very intricate carvings , it is surprising to see how it would have been possible during earlier times. Photographers are available there to take pictures, which is helpful considering the size of the boulder.

This place could have been better if the local administration had placed the facilities properly. First of all, the place is too hot and humid, a shaded pathway leading to it is really needed. If you have that, you can have people coming here on foot, from that narrow lane where people park their cars leading to traffic congestion. Second, people were going on the rocks, standing on them, just for some good pictures. Maybe that can be stopped, it's our ancient heritage.

Arjuna's penance and the Descent of Ganges is the name given to the largest stone carving in Mahabalipuram during the pallava reign. The gigantic rock is carved to show 2 instances.
One from Mahabharata a well known Hindu epic . In this Arjuna one of the five Pandavas is shown to perform penance to please the Hindu god Shiva in order to obtain his astra..
And the other shows the Descent of Ganges river to earth from the heavens following the penance of kind Bhagirath.
Whole carving is mesmerizing with intricate details carved on the stone . It contains 2 Monolith boulders with life size figures carved on them . Along with humans the carving shows intricately carved pictures of animals also.

Wherever they saw rocks, they carved them into beautiful sculptures..
They say that while a common man can see only the rock, the sculptors have an eye that sees the rock as a beautiful sculpture. Very true in this rock town..
Dating back to several centuries, this small town stands as a testimony to how the pallavas patronized this finest art form. You can always listen to the sound of chisel that beats as good as the heartbeat of this coastal town.

Amazing stone structure from the ancient times. It is very close to Arjun’s penance, Krishna mandapam and Krishna’s ball of butter. It gets very hot during the day. So it is recommended to visit either early morning or evening. The entry ticket is same for all monuments- shore temple, descent of the Ganges, Krishna ball of butter and five rathas. Wear comfortable and cotton clothes as it gets very hot. The monuments are very well preserved.

Mahabalipuram was quite an underrated town for us and thats y it took us by surprise. Its beautiful, ancient & so mysterious. Start off with buying a 35/- ticket, which covers all monuments. We first visited Shore Temple, unique in its own way. At a walkable distance are the rock sculptures, panch rathas, light house, krishna s butter ball and a lot more. We spent an easy 2 hours here exploring everything. Though this location is not marked right on Google Maps, this is just the location of Shore Temple. Nevertheless itll be fun to just explore the whole town on feet.

Suggestions for improvement:
More toilets at various locations and maintain them well. Cleanliness is key.
Maps at all important landmarks, showing the relative locations of other historical spots (with distances) will be very helpful.

Shore Temple is one of India's ancient religious structures, located in the city of Mamallapuram. The temple overlooks the Bay of Bengal and is made with stone-by-stone architecture, dating back to 300 BC. Today, the temple is still eroded by the seawater and gets crowded by tourists.
One of the oldest and most beautiful rock cut architectural marvel of India. The monument is absolutely stunning with ingenious Dravidian architecture. There are also traces of Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Buddhist influences in the designs of the temple. This is one of the seven temples exist in the sea shore of Mahabalipuram. All other 6 temples are droned or submerged under the sea. When you go a boat ride in to the sea, you will see the top of the temple droned under the sea. Fishermen knows about it. This sea shore temple is neat and clean with toilet facilities, but it is very hot during the noon time, but the temple is worth to watch and come around the temple. You can count 108 nandis (bull) around the temple and they are the security guards for lord Siva. You can see lot of stone sculptures and each has its own story and history. Don't miss it. Mahabalipuram - Maha means huge or big, Bali means cutting the head of the animal to the god and puram means village or town. On Weekends and public holidays, this place will be much crowded. From here you cannot access the beach, for which you have to come back to entrance and go to beach. You must visit this sea shore temple in the night time and see the beauty of the temple in the decorative lights especially on the full moon day. I m sure you will see the beauty with mouth wide open. Parking is pathetic here. Any day any time, you will get stuck in the traffic. You have lot of parking, but the road is narrow to take a turn and park with the vehicles coming from all the directions. Better get down from the vehicles when u near the parking and let the driver take the headache to park his vehicle and when u come back call the driver to come out of the parking. Shore Temple in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, stands as a magnificent testament to ancient Indian architecture and craftsmanship. Dating back to the 8th century AD, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a marvel of Pallava dynasty temple architecture, located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal.
The temple complex comprises three shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, with the central shrine housing a lingam symbolizing Shiva. What sets the Shore Temple apart is its unique location, juxtaposed against the backdrop of the sea, creating a surreal and ethereal ambiance especially during sunset when the temple seems to blend seamlessly with the horizon.
The intricate carvings adorning the temple walls depict scenes from Hindu mythology, including stories of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and various other deities. The attention to detail in these carvings is truly awe-inspiring, showcasing the skill and artistry of the ancient craftsmen.
Visitors to the Shore Temple are not only treated to its architectural splendor but also to its serene surroundings. The sound of crashing waves adds to the mystical atmosphere, making it a tranquil place for contemplation and reflection.
The preservation efforts by the Archaeological Survey of India have ensured that the Shore Temple remains in a relatively good state despite centuries of exposure to the elements. However, the constant threat of coastal erosion and weathering necessitates ongoing conservation efforts to safeguard this cultural heritage for future generations.

The park was informative with signboards and staff to check on your needs. All in all, a great experience and a must visit when in Chennai.

It's a wonderful place for every age group. Fees for adult is 100 Rs and for kids 50 Rs. It's a wonderful place to watch reptiles.
Crocodile and Alligator 🐊 present everywhere. The information board about it has provide all the details of the reptiles and its very good to know and read.
It's almost break all the myth of the reptiles. The skin of the crocodile 🐊 has been kept as a tribute for the reptiles which came when the bank is started at 1976 and died at 2020. Fanatic place to chill out with families and best place for photography. Must watch place.

This place is good to know about different types of crocodile and snakes. Description near each place gives a clarity about the reptiles. Also the snake show was the highlight here, where they give clear demonstration of the venom extraction and they broke the myths about snake. Clear explanation about venomous and non venomous snake was fantastic. Also they explain the precautions to be taken after snake bite was very informative. The persons who work in the snake show was doing great job and they hold good attitude. Best wishes to them.

For kids definitely an entertaining spot, summer doesn't matter i guess since the place is fully covered by trees. Crocodiles of course are worth watching and you have turtles also. Snake park was closed. You have a night Safari for which you can book tickets in the book my show app. Definitely try the night Safari once.

Crocodile bank is an all time favorite for my son. He started admiring from his age 2 still going on at 12 too. Every time he has his own story to tell. This time about the comodo dragon. I love the place not only for crocodiles, snakes, turtles, birds but for the atmosphere and how they maintain it, it's always hygienic. They genuinely care about them. Some people show care by adopting. As a nature lover I have to admit the artistic carving on the stone benches and in the wooden name boards are a feast to our eyes. This place is a big treat for birdwatchers as it has so many different varieties that you can't takeaway your eyes off it. It's totally worth it and I appreciate you will definitely admire it and won't regret it.

It is a splendid place to visit. You can see a huge variety of crocodiles and other reptiles including snakes, tortoises, turtles, etc. There is also a snake extraction centre inside, where they will show the process of extraction of poison from a snake. There is a small tuck shop where you can buy snacks or drinks. At the exit, there is also a souvenir shop where there are a lot of toys, keychains, etc. Worth it !!

A good place for kids. Can spend around 1 hour. For kids it's free for adults they are charging 100 rs. No car parking available. We need to park our car on the roadside. The best part here is you can watch live snake venom extraction

All my excitement went vain seeing the maintenance of this place. Well there were so many reptiles and varieties of crocodiles here. Easy to find on Google, reasonable entrance price, clear boards history about the place makes this a must visit.some Staff are least bothered about anything while couple are good.
Do visit this place to know about these wild animals and there life style,
The best part of the visit for me was at the end watching the 14 feet long 30years crocodile in water was just awesome.
But seriously maintenance has to get better.

Mondays are weekly off day. Get ready to be pestered by hawkers as soon as you reach the entrance of the Crocodile bank. The entrance fee of Rs 100 felt steep given the condition of some of the enclosures- dirty and mossy glasses. Car parking is charged Rs 20 separately- didn’t get a receipt despite asking for it with the reply “don’t worry, I’m here”.
Many enclosures are adopted but still lack maintenance. The park has a nice tall canopy of trees, so most of the walk inside is under good shade.
There is a separate areas where the Irula tribe folks give a live demo with the big 4 snakes. This area requires another 30Rs entry fee- 25Rs and 18%GST
Overall, if one is okay with seeing wild animals kept in captivity, a decent place to spend a few hours getting to learn about them.

Its a one-time visit place if you're interested in reptiles and crocodiles and are interested in learning more about them. They have a large amount of crocodiles in there, though lazy but fun to watch. There are description boards every to help you identify the species of crocodile and know about them. Its not very large but gives you plenty to watch.

I’ve always loved crocodiles and alligators. When my husband and I found out about this place, we knew we had to visit! The entrance fee was reasonably priced and the enclosure seemed decently maintained. The animals look relatively well taken care of too. Removing 1 star because I’m not sure how to feel about the snake venom extraction that happens there. I’m no expert in that subject so I don’t know if it’s cruelty free.

If you have an interest in exploring the world of reptiles, this destination is a must-see. I had the opportunity to visit on January 4th, 2024, right at its 10 am opening, and was truly astonished by the variety it offered—housing crocodiles, alligators, a dedicated section for turtles, and a selection of snakes.
A tip for optimal enjoyment: consider visiting at 4 pm; it's the ideal time to experience everything the place has to offer such as the snake show and many.
One of the most heartening discoveries was the chance to adopt animals through the trust—truly a commendable initiative.

It's good to see the crocodiles, Turtles, Snakes nearby the city range. Some giant turtles and snakes are there. But there is no car parking, you can put it on the main road with 20Rs charge. For kids it's free, adults 100Rs. Can spend 1hr there. Lots of birds excretion are there in the cage which creates a foul smell. possible that can be cleaned.

This place is just next to sheraton grand chennai resort and spa. They have parking but it is jam packed. The ticket for per adult is 150 rs and child is 50rs. They have snakes to show people but they don't allow to click pictures of snakes. They only have majorly crocodile, alligator, chameleon, lizard, tortoise there to see. Don't go in afternoon cause all the animals take rest that time.
