Visited in April and it was beautiful. Weather is perfect and shelter for purchase. Good area. Recommend!

Nice beach but STAY AWAY from the jet ski rentals because they WILL scam you with faulty jet skis then blame it on you and demand reimbursement

Dirty Beach with Mafia tactics running everything! ☹️😖👎🏻 it’s been a couple days and the pressure has diminished. Let’s see more.
Shawn Reed — Google review
The beach and the water are very dirty, full of all kind of trash. There is also the smell of burnt petroleum from the nearby oil refinery. As a tourist you are constantly attacked by "vendors" trying to sell you water, sunglasses, water scooter ride, etc. (if on this beach it's better than hard to imagine how it looks on others). The only plus of this place is that it is less crowded. Still, not worth the visit.

DANGER!! EXTORTION SCAMS HERE. Be very careful. Do not trust anyone offering to take you to tierra bombas, especially you are a foreigner. They will take you there then won't let you leave until you pay up. What a horrible experience. I ended up paying for me and my gf's safety. I felt unsafe.

Sand is smooth, and tents are not expensive (around US$10). Many salesmen wander around, and they can provide various services. Beware the boats though, as they roam fast and pose a potential danger to children.
Daniel Arturo Charry Meneses — Google review
Excellent location to enjoy the ocean whit a good price to rent the tent and chairs.
I recommended to use the RED chairs, is the best price.

Bocagrande is a very modern part of Cartagena. There are food places and shops everywhere. It's very easy to get around and there are walking/running paths along the water. It's very relaxing. This location is also a port for boats transporting tourists and locals to Isla de Tierra Bomba. It's very easy to find.

Grand, historic stone fort at the edge of an island, with turrets & lookout points.
Our island tour stopped off at this location to give us a little history and culture before we snorkeled.
The tour was great, lots of interesting little bits of info like they built tunnels that deliberately narrowed and then when invaders went down them they were trapped and executed them. Life lesson, don’t go chasing waterfalls or unknown tunnels but stick to the tunnels and waterfalls you are used to.
It gets hot, extra sunscreen and some water is a good idea.
Also a tip, two guys on our boat thought the coconuts were free when offered, they are not. Goes without saying but just a heads up to avoid an awkward situation.
Deborah Kilmer — Google review
A lot of history. I genuinely enjoyed the tour. It’s a must see.
Antia Crutchfield — Google review
Interesting enough. Our guide double belt helped us have better understanding of the history.
Kensuke Oki — Google review
Our tour guide took us here only to hand us over to a local who presumably knew the history of the fort. Unfortunately, that expert didn't know how to speak English and our tour guide had to take over. After the tour, our tour guide suggested we tip the local. Seems like every stop is to get someone paid. There wasn't too much to see here. Also, it was extremely hot. Bring a big hat and put on a ton of sunscreen. You will sweat it off.
Alan D Koahou — Google review
We took the water taxi to Bocachica today to see the forts and town. Got off the boat and got approached by a local “guide” that only works for donations. We kept asking for a price and he insisted it was free. So we decided to follow him and figured we would give him COP 50,000 at the end. He was very nice and led us on a nice journey through town to see how the locals live and also both forts. At the end, at the last fort, he pulled us to the side where nobody was around and demanded COP 100,000 and he wasn’t going to walk with us back to the boat. Anyways we gave him 70,000 and left on a sour note. Too bad. Everything else was good. Spent a little money on the island to contribute to the town. They were great. Should be a 5 star review except for the guide. I suggest going there but learn from my lesson.
Jeffrey Simmons — Google review
A beautiful and peaceful fort. Great to learn about the colonial history of Colombia. Do travel with backpackers for the best tour and explanation.
Vinit Dominic — Google review
Bea, well preserved fort on the island of Tierra Bomba. There were so many rooms and hallways to explore. Narrow stairways, gun holes, bridges, cannons and scenic backdrops all provided wonderful photo opportunities. The pictures don't do it justice.
If you're in good shape, I highly a guided mountain bike tour.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND

JOSE GALVIS — Google review
It was great, and shows an incredible perspective of the place and history of Cartagena, but as a tourist who already paid a considerable amount of money, the tour agencies should add a fee or give to the community a fix income by person instead of of recharging the payment of tips to tourists for these good workers when one believes that they will not have to shell out more money

Free Access. Locals will give a tour with the history about the fort for tips. Great spot for pics

A lovely strip of white sand that is ideal for swimming, Playa Blanca is a popular spot for boat trips and jet ski rentals. It features several beachside eateries where visitors can enjoy delicious food while soaking up the sun. A must-visit destination nearby is Isla Baru, which offers stunning views of Playa Blanca as well as opportunities to explore the charming Old Town and sample tasty street food.
Loved the peace in this place. Very touristy place. It is a combination of sandy beaches and hostels. I love how peaceful it was for me. There are tours for different islands from there And you have the chance to see planktons there.

It's a beautiful beach with plenty of options to order a drink and chill. The amount of sellers coming to you is unbelievable. You can't spend 5 mins without a person selling something to you. I was napping and one lady just started a massage on my feet saying that I don't need to pay it because it was a demonstration. The sellers are very invasive and annoying.....
Deric Lima (Zuka) — Google review
I think this place is over rated. I would categorize it as follow:
-Crime HIGH ⭐️ - cellphone got stolen as soon as we arrived
-Water 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-Vendors- ⭐️ too many and pushy
-Infrastructure -100 ⭐️> there is no light at night, the entrance is horrific, as if you were going to get kidnapped, dirty, it looked like a dump. No running water, no electricity, not real good food, very disastrous bus ride. Forget about it.
-Plankton water: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ awesome, it’s really cool, only a few places in the world.
-Sunset ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ beautiful
-sand-beach ⭐️⭐️ too many rocks, don’t believe the pictures you see posting, these is only in a few little spots.
-safety feeling ⭐️⭐️ people are nice, but everyone is on top of you, and we got robbed.
Stay away, find another beach!
Mauro Briceno — Google review
This is NOT a place to relax on the beach.
Vendors every 30 seconds bothering you. There is apparently 300 masseurs in the beach. Even when you say no multiple times, they will stop and touch you to give you a free sample. Lots of vendors will try to scam you.
If you want to visit, book an island tour where you can visit different beaches and don’t stay here overnight.
We stayed for 3 nights and regret it very much. After 7:30 pm, nothing happens. Restaurants and hotels have generators and it make lots of noise.
I do NOT recommend this beach.
Fran Parr — Google review
Beautiful water and coral! A very busy beach, vendor's non-stop, with jetskii, and boats to close to the beach. The beach quality is amazing tho.
Chris Korpuze — Google review
The jetskis and boat issues most of the reviewers list here are still relevant, but at least now there's a regulator guy that goes around asking how much you've paid so that you don't get absolutely ripped off. Regardless, if you're a foreigner around the Cartagena area, make sure you ask for prices BEFORE receiving.
Ulothrix — Google review
The beach and the water is beautiful, the services are poor, no water to shower or use bathrooms with. The local vendors are rude and pushy, they would not let us relax until we ran out of cash and then they had a middle man who they used his credit card machine for a commission fee of 50,000 COP. A rip off. Very disappointed with these vendors, I mean you go to a beach to relax not to buy things. If the locals need money then they should charge a blanket fee to cover their salaries. This is illegal in the USA, you simply cannot harass people on public beach. The locals looked kind of sketchy, I was afraid to get kidnapped for a ransom e or something like that.
Kevin Taheri — Google review
Boats and jet skis pull into the beach where people are swimming, it's dangerous so watch out for them. It also smells strongly of gasoline. It could be beautiful if there was health and safety and the boats had a peer away from people. The tour boats are full of people with little care for your enjoyment or relaxation, they're very pushy. For older people, take your time getting on the boats and don't listen to them hurrying you as people have fallen and hit their heads badly on seats!
Caroline G — Google review
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
this is a beautiful space ruined by locals trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of you.
It starts as you approach the entrance to the beach and it gets worse as you move in. Vendors aka THIEFS trying to show you the way. GET THEM OFF YOUR BACK AS SOON AS YOU CAN. The place is basically run by gangs.
The positive reviews are by people who have paid an organization to take them there and provide accommodations. If you go without an organized group, prepare to get robbed.
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING WITHOUT FIRST ASKING FOR A PRICE. PAY AS YOU ORDER.
Honestly just avoid. If you don’t want a negative impression of Colombians or Cartagena area. Or go with an organized guide/tour. Pay in advance for security and comfort so you don’t feel cheated in the end.

It was the best beach we visited while in Cartagena. It's really busy so be sure to keep and eye on your things. The only bad thing was that we almost got run over by a jet ski on its way back to the beach. The color of the water is pretty and there are a lot of restaurants and tours you can take here.
Nicole Chaves — Google review
Beautiful landscape and water, but terrible people. Once you’re on the beach you have to survive one scam after another one, impossible to have peace and relax as many of the tours offer, would not recommend to visit anymore.
Ivan Sanchez — Google review
Too many vendors and flys. We couldn't walk on the beach because of all the chairs and beds. Way overcrowded for me to completely enjoy.

The beach was relaxing yet busy. There were locals offering plenty of water activities ranging from pontoons to jet skis. The food and drinks were refreshing. Be respectful to the vendors and respectfully their offers if you aren't interested and enjoy your time there.

This place is absolutely amazing on astonished at how beautiful nature can be! I went here last weekend with Nexxt Tours. Our guide Sergio was phenomenal he gave us more than enough time to not only see the builds the whatever knowledge he had about the birds he gave us that information. It was a really fun tour to see bird in person that I’ve o my see on pictures and videos. The flamingos🦩were the best part of the Aviary. I highly recommend going to here you’ll have a greater appreciation for nature as a whole!

This is definitely a cool place to spend a few hours while in Cartagena. Great variety of birds and a fun bird show twice a day. I would definitely recommend putting some mosquito spray on before entering as there are areas you will get bit if you don’t wear it.

Fantastic place with an explosion of colors. The birds are not scared of humans, and some are very curious. The layout is great to get to see the birds up close and personal. The entire park can be done in 2 hrs. However, if you like taking photos, you might want to take more time to soak it all in. There are places to get refreshments inside the Aviory. This hidden gem should not be missed.

Was blown away by this place. Have never seen so many beautiful birds in one place. The walk through this amazing park took 2hrs and is a hot one in feb. It is about 1.2 hrs from historic center and a 10min ride to playa blanca. A must see!!

It was a great experience. Lot of birds and different animals, bring insect repellent ( or purchase one at the entry ) try to arrive before 3 pm so you can experience the flying bird live show. No worries about arriving to the aviary you can follow google maps instructions it will take you to the entry

If you like birds even a little bit then you’ll love this aviary. The macaws are free roaming. Two walked out of the men’s room to greet me as I was headed to the ladies room. As I sat in the first enclosed aviary, one of the birds landed on the bench and decided to hop onto me to clean my skin. It would pull my sleeve to look under it. It was gentle and the beak didn’t hurt at all. It was an amazing experience. I’ve always wanted to see a toucan and we did. All the birds are well cared for and look beautiful. I suggest you eat before you go since there are only some drinks and ice cream. This was the most wonderful experience we had when we visited Cartagena.

Great place to see the birds... they are running around freely, amazing...since most of the bird park we've visited are cltightly cage or cover with nett mostly. Here the birds, the iguanas are free. Lots of peacock that loves to show off. Highly recommendwd
Lokadita Brahmana — Google review
The place is a bit difficult to get to, you’ll need a car, a taxi service or an Uber. It is also difficult to get back from the Aviario so it’s recommended you hire someone to pick you up or wait for you a few hours to then drive you back. That aside, the place is great, so many nice, exotic birds (we were welcomed by two peacocks squaring up to each other). You can also see iguanas just lying around being iguanas.
The trip there is worthy, totally recommended.
It also has picnic areas, toilets, and a gift shop. They do two presentations a day that talks about the birds, some history behind them, facts and stats and other interesting information.
They charge one price for locals and another price for foreigners.

Excellent experience. Would recommend if you enjoy birds of any kind. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. It was about a 45 minute ride from the cruise port,a little bumpy in spots but you get to see the countryside (good & bad). The birds are well cared for and engaging. It was wonderful.

The variety of birds is incredible. The walk through the park is well maintained but not suggested for wheelchairs. As you enter the park, there is a macaw tree where the birds are free to move around, with no cages. One had even landed on a man's shoulder.

Very nice place with a lot pf different birds and also a lot of iguanas. The park is very clean and all the animals are looking healthy and fit. Interesting museum. A definite stop if you are in the town. Right on the town square and with interesting details about the region’s indigenous peoples. Well put. If you want to see the petroglyphs call in advance to reserve a guide and prepare to arrive early for a walk that takes a couple of hours. Otherwise the museum itself can be done in 30-45 minutes.

It takes about 20 minutes from Tolú. When you arrive, the natives of the area are outside offering the tour. They have a sign with prices, but you can always negotiate. We took the couple's tour for $70,000, it was very comfortable because there were almost no people. We cross the bridges and arrive at the houseboat, where you can buy drinks or something to snack. There the person who gave us the tour gave us oysters that he collected on the tour, and accompanied them with a delicious sauce. The tour was approximately one hour in total. They rent hats for $2000, totally recommended since the sun is strong. We saw some animals: raccoons, eagles, swallows, etc. There are only boats since they do not allow boats due to pollution, which I think is excellent for preserving nature.

(Translated by Google) I really liked the tour through the swamp, the guides tell the story very appropriately and you have interaction with nature. In the water house you can swim and it is a unique experience. You don't see any alligators, I thought there was a museum or something like that, but it's a great tour

Bad experience ! Dangerous, No recommended.
I was at 18 meters depth and my material was defective. Manomaetres were defective and I did not get air at all. I needed to do an emergency comeback. My pair, which is an instructor, did not understand my sign to get his air. In the end I felt bad for 2 days but nothing bad happened to me. I cannot imagine If it would somebody else.
This society is not professional and MUST check its material and make sure everything is good before playing with people's lives.
Bad experience

Had a great experience with our dive instructor Guillermo on the 5th-6th of September. We came as a party of 3 speaking a mixture of English and Spanish. He made us feel very welcome and accommodated for the mixture of languages, making sure everything was clear to all of us before continuing. This was our first dive and it felt safe and controlled at all times. An absolutely stunning dive location with a stop for lunch at the beautiful island of Tintipan. Hope to return in the future to pursue the PADI licence.
P.S - I won't forget the PG Tips 🤙

Excellent dive shop. Very professional and caring crew.
Guillermo and Jorge are both experienced divers. They have a ton of knowledge of the local sea life and are very patient with new divers.
Juan Sebastian Zuluaga Arbelaez — Google review
Short summary: this dive shop greatly lacks professionalism, proper maintenance of their gear and general care for their customers. Full story below.
We wanted to dive in San Bernardo Isles or Isla Fuerte, so we looked for a PADI dive shop in the surroundings. When saw that Coveñas Dive Co was operating there, we booked accommodation in Coveñas. From the start the communication via whatsapp with the diveshop was difficult. It could be due to the language barrier (our Spanish is not very good), but we could never get clear answers to our questions concerning the dives. After a lot messages back and forth, we ended up booking the San Bernardo dives.
One day before the dive, they suddenly mentioned that the dive would depart from Tolú, 30min from Coveñas. When we asked whether we could get transport to Tolú from Coveñas, they basically said without empathy that we had to solve the transport issue ourselves. I thought this was already not very customer friendly, because their physical dive shop was literally 300m from our accommodation and we specifically booked accommodation close to that dive shop to make logistics easier. Anyhow, we managed to get there by bus.
At the day of the dive, we met in the harbor of Tolú and they bring dive gear according to the questionnaire you fill in online. So you were never able to fit your gear until just before you initiate the dive. From all the things I experienced that day, it was clear they do not maintain their equipment well. For start, I got a mask and snorkel full of mold (very healthy!). Second, I test the octopus and see the that the needle of the gauge is moving a lot when breathing. I mention this to the divemaster, he shrugged and said it was fine. When I entered the water, I noticed air was escaping from the tank. At the end, they needed a last minute fix of the o ring of the tank. It was clear they did not properly check the equipment before they gave it to us. Also all the PADI guidelines of material check or buddy check were never encouraged and thus never performed by the rest of our dive group (and this for a 5 star padi shop).
Second dive, more problems. From the moment I entered the water again, I noticed air flowing from the tube connected to my alternate air source. I again mentioned this to the divemaster, he yanked a bit on the tubings and said it was only a bit of air flowing away and that it will be fine. When I was under water, a bit of water was constantly entering my regulator and I had to purge often to be able to breathe.
Obviously, I never felt comfortable during any of the dives. The dive guides also do not do any effort to point things out under water, they just bring you from point a to b. After the dive, they also just stamped the two next empty spots in the dive logbook and never gave any more details on the dive itself. We initially wanted to do more dives with them, but at the end I am happy we could only do one. By far the worst diving experience I had in my life.

We had a really good time with Guillermo!
He owns a small but very well equipped dive shop and is a passionate and highly professional diver.
He took good care of us and showed us beautiful dive sites with a lot of beautiful and healthy corals.
He provides very good service and has only new equipment. Guillermo is very experienced and can give a lot of good recommendations.
Highly recommended, we will be back! :-)

Eric Stander — Google review
Sure, it’s an magnificent feat of engineering and offers spectacular views of the mountains yonder, but the surrounding areas are not worth the visit. The river is barely there with global warming drying its banks. The drive there is quite pleasant, it once there, it’s not exactly inviting. Motorcycles fill the remaining areas of the dried-up river and a look out point allows visitors to see the other side of the river (which is a whole lot of nothing. On the bridge itself, it’s narrow and creaky, but definitely solidly built. The cables holding the structure together are visible at the ends, but nothing to be impressed about. When we went the whole thing was under renovations so no motor taxis allowed, just foot traffic. Because it was so narrow, it’s inconvenient to stop in the middle to take photos or breathe in nature. We just walked to the other side which had vendors and a restaurant and public washrooms. The place was messy with garbage littered everywhere. The riverbank also smelled of sewage. The bridge is more of a “been there, done that”. Is it a “tourist attraction”? More of a waste of time. Skip it if you are in the area.

Water parks are a childhood pleasure of mine. Sliding down a water slide still gives me as much fun as it did when I was ten. So selecting new water parks is an important activity of mine. That's how I ended up at Parque Los Tamarindos. Not the largest water park there is, but beautifully set up in a natural and tropical environment. The swimming pools are beautiful and the Tuesday we visited the park and pools were spotlessly clean. The four slides give the adrenaline rush you are looking for. The park itself is very affordable, only 27,000 pesos for the entrance. The food and drinks are affordable and of good quality. The staff is friendly. Another great thing is that the park throughout weekdays is quiet in numbers of people (apparantly it is the opposite during weekends). The park is also easily accessible by public transport: from Medellin Terminal de Norte a bus leaves approximately every 30 minutes in the direction of Sante Fe de Antioquia, which can drop you off at the entrance of the park; the bus ride is only an hour. Excellent experience, I will definitely come back soon.

Each one have a red polo shirt and each one covers a certain section. I felt like a VIP and they truly love their job and make the whole experience unforgettable! I would give it a 10 stars!!!!

There is just so many positives to this place that it's hard to list them all. I will say it has plenty of things to keep the kids entertained of all ages. My boys loved the rock climbing wall, the aquarium, the making a movie commercial. Just getting to be so hands on with everything and what they can learn. You can spend plenty of hours there exploring.

Great Museum for young and old. Lots of interactive pieces with mostly zero waiting times. Good for non Spanish speaking people: nearly every explanation is is English also available.

Great place to spend the day, it’s a huge museum with interactive exhibits. You can easily spend 4-5 hours there interacting with the exhibits and looking at the aquarium.. There’s also a planetarium which I didn’t like that much, the movie was like 30 minutes long, not with it for me.

Amazing place, hudge amount of attractions for kids and adults. I would recommend to go for a whole day. Especially kids will love it.
Many animals to see, big aquarium, amazing explanation of the subject in Spanish and English too. So this is very good for travelers.
Quick payment, no queues, very friendly staff.
Nice place to spend day out.

An amazing place, fundamental if you go to Medellin, also you will need to spend the entire day to see all the places. “Music room” is really good, also the price is expensive 48k for tourists, however the service is good

Went with three generations of cousins. Exhibits in Spanish with good translations in English. Lunch options are good. Spend the day inside, and then stay and play on the outdoor patio once the sun isn’t so hot. Entries close at 5 or 5:30pm, but the museum is open a whole hour later. Lovely day spent learning and playing. Highly recommend, even without kids- it’s fun!

What a wonderful place.
This is a interactive museum where you can learn thousands of interesting things.
You will need at least one full day to visit it, best if you take two.
When you come in, there is a few interesting attractions in the outdoor part, where you can experience some cool things about physics.
There is a small but interesting aquarium with sweet and salty water spices and a terrarium with only few but cool small animals.
In the different rooms of the park (music, mind, time…) you get to see, touch, read, hear and experience in different ways how those things work. There are a looot of pieces to interact with. Everything have explanations in Spanish and most of them in english as well.
There is looots of staff around the place to help you, answer your questions and explain you the attractions.
Most of the workers very kind, friendly and very passionate about the job.
Inside of the park you have some restaurants and cafes so you don’t even need to go out.
When its busy, it can be a bit overcrowded and you will have to wait some time to get to use the different components, but not a big deal.
Very recommended for everyone, families, couples, kids and adults. There is something for everyone.
We loveeed it and when we will be back in Medellin, we will be back at explora Park without doubt.
Congratulations for the amazing park and keep up the good work.

My family came here to spend the day while visiting Medellin last week. Based on the website and YouTube videos, I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew there were the outdoor hands on activities and the aquarium, but I didn’t know about all the other activities upstairs.
We spent 5 hours here walking through the outdoor areas, aquarium and all 4 of the themed rooms. We were pleasantly surprised by all the hands on, interactive stations in each section. Each room upstairs is separated into different themes: time, music, mind and “on stage.” Each area had something interesting for both adults and kids. It was a perfect way to spend the day for my 8 year old.
The staff was helpful and everyone we interacted with was very pleasant. They helped us understand what each activity was about and the man working down in the aquarium was very informative and nice to speak with. The facilities were clean and well maintained with nothing out of order.
The only thing that could be improved upon in my opinion is the food offerings. There are only a few fast food options and nothing looked fresh or well made. Be sure to eat beforehand or bring snacks if you will be there for a long time.
For the price we paid (40 mil COP per person) and all the fun we had, it was well worth it. I highly recommend to visit here, especially if you have kids.

Parque Explora near the Botanical Gardens is interesting for both children and adults. This is a great place to visit and explore via the many interactive exhibits. Plan on a good 3 hours at the minimum to get the best bang for your buck. The life-sized dinosaur statues are must-see too.

The Museum of Antioquia, a renowned cultural institution in Medellin, showcases historical and contemporary artworks. It houses an impressive collection of pieces by native artists such as Fernando Botero and Pedro Nel Gómez, along with modern works. This art venue is widely considered one of the top museums not only in Medellin but also in Colombia. Visitors can explore a dedicated exhibition featuring Botero's famous sculptures and paintings depicting overweight individuals and animals.
Must visit while in Medellín. Most descriptions are in Spanish and when we went they didn't have English speaker guides. My Spanish is intermediate level but I still enjoyed the exhibits tremendously. Give this place at least 2-3 hours and make sure to go to the top floor for Botero insanity. Highly recommend.

Cool place. Give yourself at least 2 hours. The security staff needs a ton of training. Followed me around, walking in front of me while I’m looking at exhibits, just poorly trained for a nice museum.

I love Botero and this Museum has all of his essence and lot of works. Beginning outside it's already great and I would encourage anyone to visit it, although be careful not to wander off too far.
Joshua Sandi — Google review
The art at the museum is beautiful, and a lot of the exhibits are translated in English hower none of the staff I interacted with spoke English and the museum is in a very dangerous area. Dress modestly, bring a cheap phone, and brush up on your Spanish. The statues around the plaza are fun to take photos with and the museum itself is full of amazing art with a whole floor dedicated to Fernando Botero, and two more floors with art from various Colombians artists which to me was the highlight. I wasn't able to able to see everything while I was there, I would love to go again. Its also the safest place to be in that area so we recommend using that as a hub to pull out your phones and make calls because otherwise your liable to get your phone stolen out of your hands.
Adam Rotshtyn — Google review
What a great display of paintings and sculptures made by Botero. One can find unique paintings, and surrounding the museum (outside) there are a lot of bronce sculptures. Unfortunately inside the museum, they don't allowed to take pictures.

It’s a quick 10 minute walk from the Jose Maria market as a random fact.
The space outside is okie. Fill with vendors and we just want to check out the museum in lpeace. The area could use a good cleaning thou.
Beside that, this museum inside is so peaceful and beautiful. Big enough for to explore and yet small enough to finish in a hour or so.

Even with 40% of their exhibitions out of order, we spent a long time here admiring an incredible diversity of art. Well worth the time and the money.

My hometown’s main museum. Our most famous artist is Fernando Botero. He put our country in the art world map. Thanks to him we are known for something different than… (you know what).
He has provided an invaluable contribution of his own art pieces, and donated a large selection of artifacts from his own personal collection.
Thank you so much, Mr. Botero!

Wonderful museum, though the two wings make the visit slightly confusing. If course I loved the large Botero sculpture in the plaza and his substantial works in the museum. Unfortunately, no photos were allowed of the Botero paintings. The other collections are also interesting and cover a wide range of genres.
Rainer Gruen — Google review
Lovely art museum with beautiful pieces from Colombian artists. I would love some more explanation of the pieces and the history of the artists. The few explanations that are there are only in Spanish.
But you can take a tour inside to fix this. Definitely recommend!

The Plaza Botero in Medellín, Antioquia is home to 23 sculptures by Fernando Botero, as well as a landscaped grounds and benches. It is a tourist attraction and a part of the Free Walking Tour of Medellin.
Great plaza with train access, and lots of cool architecture and sculptures. If you are a tourist, do not explore too far from the plaza. It seems to be in a really sketchy location.

Statues are very awesome. Have some vendors nearby selling all kinds of things in the park, it does get pretty packed. It isn’t in the best area, I definitely wouldn’t go around nighttime.

Botero is the the most famous artist from Colombia so this is a must visit in Medellin if you like art museums. I am pretty indifferent about art but his style is unique. The plaza itself is vibrant and a good place to photos. It is also easily accessible with a train station. I would spend a couple hours in the plaza + museum combined and give it 3.5 stars.

This eponymous plaza is adorned with large sculptures by world renowned artist Botero. These figures are rotund figures for which he is famous.
The Museum of Antiquities which is on the square, devotes the third floor to paintings by Botero.

A beautiful square in the middle of downtown Medellin. In the middle of the square you will find large works of art by Boltero, beautiful architecture. The location of this square shows (unfortunately) at the moment how divided the city is. The square is fenced off and 'secured' by police. I recommend not visiting the streets outside the square. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.

Medellín is working to improve parks and the neighborhood and this is one step showing it’s working. Beautiful art sculptures in this park. On my visit on 5/7/23, there were police controlled entries to the park strictly because the area is being gentrified. This is a beautiful place to stroll through and enjoy the sights.

Nutibara Hill is a popular tourist destination with spectacular views of the city of Medellin. The park has a sculpture garden, an open-air theater, and a composite of typical Colombian towns.

If you have not been to a small Colombian town, it's with the visit. But if you've been to one, or the walled city in Cartagena, it's not a must see.
There's a very interesting photo museum the as well. It was very cool to see the history of Medellin in photo.

Great zone for having a good time out of the city, but without the need of going too far. Pueblito and Cerro Nutibara were awesome, the only negative fact is that attractions were all closed, so basically all you cand do was enjoying the architecture, landscapes (one that's actually really cool at the top) and helping some very kind vendors around.
Ian Ondoy Quir?s — Google review
Very beautiful and nice landscape view. Most vendors won't take cards, so if you don't have cash, you won't be able to buy pretty much anything. Public transportation is not available to the place so it's either walking or taking Uber.

It's a huge hill that u can either get driven up or walk up maybe 200 or so stairs. The stairs seemed to be a really good exercise and was a nice feat to accomplish. To be honest i had no clue there was a replica village at the top so that was surprising. They had a church and some sculptures as well as food all on the north side of the mountain and stores more towards the south. The food is very pricey though so i wouldn't buy into it. But the replica is very cool and the top is also a good view of the sunset.

This is basically a tourist stop with restaurants and shops. The architecture beckons to the colonial days but it's not that old or authentic. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if you've got time and you're on the tour like me, why not.

This Pueblito is just so darn cute. Picturesque, lively, colorful, and so emerged into the surrounding nature that it seems like it has been there all along. Just a quaint little place to make a pit stop, grab a bite, or just a refreshing juicy somethingto quench your thirst while enjoying the afternoon. There are tons of places in this very small space to take beautiful quality post-perfect-pictures!

It is a picturesque scene of a little town. It definitely reminds me of the Disney movie Encanto. Be sure to wear something photo ready to compliment your backdrop.
There is a tiny winding road that takes you up there. After you take your photos of the village there is a museum, but better than that is the view on top surrounding the museum
