If you're heading to Atalaia beach and it's crowded, go left to Old Lighthouse Beach. It's not crowded here, with more cars than people. Be cautious of rising tides to avoid being stranded or losing your car. This beach offers a peaceful environment without stress or noise, making it perfect for enjoying the water. However, be prepared as there is no infrastructure available; bring water, snacks, and beverages.
If you’re heading to the Atalaia beach and things are packed there, head to the left and go to Praia do Farol beach. It’s difficult to find big crowds in here—in fact, you’re going to find more cars than people around this area. Beware of the tides and when it’s rising, otherwise you’re going to be stranded or even lose your car.

I encountered a number of negative reviews regarding the slow service at Praia do Atalaia, particularly on busy days when the beach is crowded and there are many tables to attend to. However, overall, they seem to meet expectations by offering good food at a reasonable price. It should be noted that this area is popular among tourists, so it's not expected to be cheap. Additionally, I had the opportunity to experience both low and high seasons at Atalaia Beach before Easter weekend.
Beautiful beach. Long beach. People take their cars on the beach itself. July is the busy month. Local singers perform there in the peak season. Things get preexisting expensive in the peak season. So bring your own stuff what you can.

We went to Atalaia Beach several days before the Easter Holiday weekend so we got to feel what Salinas Island, Salinanopolis and Atalaia Beach feel like in low season and at high season.
We enjoyed having the place to ourselves most of the week and then saw the hordes from Belem arrive late Friday. What had been a mostly empty beach filled with cars, umbrellas, and tables and chairs.

I read a few reviews complaining about the fact that it takes forever to be served. This is true. However, it happens usually during busy days when the the Atalaia beach is packed and they have too many tables to serve. Other than that, they meet the expectations which is to serve good food for a reasonable price–don't expect cheap things around this area since this is a hotspot for tourists.
Lagoa da Jansen, also known as Jansen Lake, is a popular spot in Sao Luis that offers a perfect setting for enjoying a refreshing drink under the sun or listening to music on summer nights. Additionally, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the modern Sao Luis area from this location.

Ponta D'areia, São Luís - State of Maranhão, Brazil
I'll never travel to Mata de Sao Joao without this trip planner again
The Palacio dos Leões is a beautiful building located in the historic center of Sao Luis, Maranhão. It is the current headquarters for local government and it is home to some magnificent furniture and decoration from the 18th century. The palace has amazing views of the sunset and makes for a great place to take pictures or have coffee with someone you love.
Very close to the hotel Luzeiros, let's say a 8 to 9 min drive... Very beautiful building, the structure is still in good shape for the old age... We visited here in december 2012, the weather was very tropical, variation between 24 and 28 Celsius max... The people in Sao Luis are very friendly...It is always better and safer to go out of the hotel with at least two people....

The “Palace of the Lions” is the Governor’s mansion in the Brazilian state of Maranhão. The location has been the home of this state’s governors since the French ruled in this area back in 1612. The current building was constructed around 1766 & has been reformed several times since then.
It’s located in the historic town center, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Parts of the building are open to tourists and they have guided tours. You have to wear booties not to damage the floors & carpets. The guides are pretty knowledgeable and the tour doesn’t take that long, so if you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend it.

There is also a living museum that can be visited with pieces that belonged to the priest and reflect a little of his history and Juazeiro do Norte itself. The atmosphere of faith and devotion in a space that brings back memories of the reality of the first half of the 21st century in the region calls attention.

(Translated by Google) Padre Cícero's mansion is a museum that was once one of the priest's homes.
The place is well organized and clean. At the entrance you can count on an automatic gel alcohol dispenser that you just need to put your hand down and it releases the alcohol without having to press.
It is in this house that there is a living museum with sculptures made in size but characters from the history of Juazeiro. In total there are four scenes (one in the dining room, in the room with the priest in the hammock, in the room of the heart of Jesus, in the office and the last one in the chapel).
There is also a huge amount of "ex-votos", which are objects left by pilgrims for a grace achieved.
In the museum it is possible to drink water in clay pots. And buy souvenirs.
It's a great place for people who enjoy popular culture and history.

O local é bem organizado e limpo.
E comprar lembrancinhas.

He is responsible for the vessel, fun, attentive and helpful throughout the trip and she, with all education and friendliness, is responsible for the catamaran's bar and kitchen service where beautiful drinks, appetizers and a pastry that can be said to be the best in the region are prepared.
I am very happy to recommend the services of the catamarã sertão as it was a unique experience for us in the group and as said, see you soon, as we will definitely be back.

(Translated by Google) Meeting someone like Hugo is simply gratifying, not to mention surprising. Simple man but with unique wisdom and knowledge. I spent some time talking to him and listening to stories that books don't tell about the sertão and cangaço. All said by those who had contact with relatives of the protagonists. The tour is fantastic and will please the most demanding. As he would say: "me at the helm and God in control..." Success my brother.

(Translated by Google) The tour is sensational and presented in an enriching way. Based at Cangaço Ecoparque, after the catamaran ride, the cangaço route is unmissable. The cangaceira guide makes everything interesting and genuinely informs the events of the cangaceiro movement in the region, with incredible political sensitivity. Very high level of preparation!

Nice remote recreational park and restaurant, with access to the trail leading up to the cave where the famous Lampiao was killed and decapitated. It's a moderate 2 hour, 3 kilometer trail well worth the effort.

The best place to go and see the most gorgeous birds in the world. I had Yuri Oliveira was my guide, and he has all the knowledge of every single species of birds. Thank you for providing me with such an experience i haven't had before.

The history of this place is amazing. Tour starts with a video, then guided tour cage by cage. Ends with a photo session with 3 different birds. I would suggest a website publishing a calendar with extras and activities. Seems like the full experience is randomly offered.

If you visit Aracaju, take your time to visit the incredible place where a small group of people is working hard to help birds that were harmed and at the same time is teaching us a lot about them.

Village Inn Mangue Seco

Village Inn Mangue Seco is a relaxed accommodation option located near a beach, providing uncomplicated accommodations, an outdoor swimming pool, and basic dining facilities. Although the individual responsible for managing the inn may have been lacking in certain aspects, the overall beauty of the place compensates for it. The inn is ideal for those seeking tranquility and a peaceful environment to unwind and rejuvenate.
(Translated by Google) I was with my family and loved the experience! With me, homemade and tasty... perfectly suitable for children! Because of the tide, we have time to leave the place and arrival time! Which I thought was fantastic!!!!!! I like that!!!!! The staff are super kind and discreet...as for the mosquitoes... It's nature.
In places with open nature I always take repellents and everything worked out! I loved the place and want to return! Kisses.

(Translated by Google) A good place for those looking for peace. However, if you are not used to insect bites, at least in the month of February, take repellent and don't stay in a room without air conditioning! The facilities could be better (better mattresses and bedding, better bathrooms and minibar...). It is also a little far from bars/restaurants, which requires a greater expense to get around, as the transport is unique (cars with traction), but you can call the cooperative and there is always someone who can help you. Arrival and departure from the inn by sea are a bit complicated for those who want to save money, as, as it is a more remote location, access is restricted and you have to make arrangements in advance for the boats to make special stops as required. availability and perhaps a greater expense, if no one has the patience you will have to take more expensive transport to make the crossing.

(Translated by Google) The staff was very receptive, but the inn is a little dated. Rooms with bathrooms in need of renovation, the beds weren't the best, getting to the city center was difficult to access at night, if not just by buggy. We expected more from the inn.

Great beach to visitors. You take a motor boat to reach the bars along the river. The price is right and they have typical dishes like Aratu, Chumbinho, crabs, Sururu among others. The chairs can be in the river and there are other rides around to rivers and dunes. Buggy ride available too.
