Soaring cathedral known for its multiple neo-Gothic arches, mosaics & stained-glass windows.

Casual accommodations in a remote spa resort with indoor & outdoor geothermal pools, plus mini-golf.
Cabanas have been upgraded and each have a hot tub outside with hot spring water to fill them. Beds are comfortable, heating inside sufficient and kitchen well supplied.
Nicky Niemandt — Google review
A-frame was very nice with hot tub on patio. Beautiful surroundings. Lucas was super nice and helpful getting our bags and giving us instructions. We enjoyed the pools. Restaurant was good.

Non-touristy hot springs up in the mountains. Has indoor and outdoor pool. Must bring flipflops or other foot protection.

Best experience in Chile.
Amazing dinners. The thermal soaking tub after a day of hiking felt like a life saver.
Great service.
Elena S — Google review
We had a horrible experience, we were a group of 5 Argentines with the c19 pass who accepted us at the customs but they did not accept us at the hot springs, they did not let us pass, they did not return our money, they did not give us wi-fi so that we could do the pass on the spot... they really didn't take into account that we are coming from another country, that we traveled a lot of hours to go there... horrible service
Florencia Battocchia — Google review
We traveled by bus from Osorno to visit the hot spring here, and we had quite low expectations based on some previous reviews. But our experience was really great, the outdoor pool opens at 12:30 so we went to get some lunch first at the restaurant which was surprisingly delicious. The thermal bath itself was lovely and not too crowded at all (weekday between Christmas and new year). There is a cold shower so we alternated between the hot spring and the cold shower and got the wim hof buzz!
It’s really good value (6500 CLP) and we had a great and relaxing day.
The shower and changing facilities are also pretty good and seemed quite new.
If you’re in Osorno already and are looking for a day trip then I’d really recommend - but just don’t expect Japanese onsen levels of serene surroundings (but it’s not a million miles off!)
Jessica Blaszczyk — Google review
The outside pool is probably the cheapest hot spring you can find, great deal The coffee at nearby restaurant was almost as expensive as entrance fee to the pool.
V Miller — Google review
The Domo rooms are amazing! Love the soap and shampoo provided. The service for check-in was excellent and Lucas who helped us to our room was fabulous.
The hot springs themselves are very dated but hot so that was nice. We had a private hot tub and preferred that over the hot springs anyway.
We had the discovery package which included the meals, I'd say it's worth it for the price but the food quality could be elevated. The service for breakfast however was abismal... No one replenishing the food or drinks.
Kristi Vanskiver (Whisky Wanderlust) — Google review
Had a wonderful experience at this resort for a night and wishing it was for a week. The resort is nice and well organized and easily accessed via main road. The dome cabins were a great experience specially in a rainy morning and foggy sunrise. I cannot speak highly enough of the resort. I would be returning for a longer stay.
Joseph Sosa — Google review
We enjoyed our cabin really much for the four nights we spent at the ski resort. The drive back and forth has beautiful views and is not too long. The chalet was really comfortable and the private hot spring water tube the best!
Cindy Kozak — Google review
I attended twice with two children. It's an amazing place! The water is so hot! I recommend the outer pool for being south kids. It has more air and the sight is gorgeous.
Downsides: the dressing rooms are not comfortable and if you leave the pool, for whatever reason, you are not allowed to return.

Corral Bay is a picturesque body of water traversed by multiple ferries and fishing boats. The bay is adorned with lush forest trails and historical colonial forts dating back to the 1600s. A cycling route starting from Valdivia offers a scenic journey, although caution is advised for motorists overtaking in opposite lanes. While lacking police control, this southern route remains stunning and unforgettable. Upon returning to Valdivia, visitors have the opportunity to explore local breweries.

This bustling market was designated a Chilean National Monument in 2009 and offers an array of fresh seafood, fish, cheeses, vegetables, and local arts and crafts. The colorful stalls are covered with rainbow awnings, creating a lively atmosphere.

Jardín Botánico UACh is a charming botanical garden established in 1957, showcasing a diverse collection of native trees and vegetation from Chile and around the world. Unlike traditional gardens, it focuses on mature trees rather than flowers, creating a captivating experience. The garden is open daily during specific hours and offers a serene environment for leisurely strolls or quiet reading. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty while observing various bird species.
This is an unusual botanical garden in that there are no flowers -- just huge, mature, stately trees whose grandeur and song ( in any wind) is captivating. Allow an hour to stroll, not hustle, through the experience. If you have your meditations or reading with you, allow more time. Sidelight: lots of fun student canoodling in the vistas and bushes.

Portal Salto Huilo Huilo
Outdoor Activities
Hiking area
Dramatic cascade over a forest-covered volcanic cliff, accessed via a short hiking trail.
Great hike. Not too long. Takes under 2hrs. Get to see from the top and from the bottom. Can swim in the river at the bottom, but REALLY cold.
Christopher McPhee — Google review
Portal Salto Huilo Huilo is a gateway to exploring the natural beauty of Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve in Chile. Visitors can access the Sendero Salto Huilo Huilo, a self-guided trek leading to a cascading waterfall. The portal also offers the Sendero Botánico for those interested in the diverse plant life of the temperate rainforest.
Here's a quick summary of what you can expect at Portal Salto Huilo Huilo:
* Pros: Easy access to waterfalls and hiking trails, beautiful scenery (it depends on the tourist guide)
* Cons: Limited facilities.
Overall, Portal Salto Huilo Huilo is a great option for a day trip or a starting point for further exploration of the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve.
Sivaraj Durairaj — Google review
Would get 5 stars if all the little finer details were seen too. Lots of small finishing touches that just need a little attention like loose wires from speakers visible in the dining rooms, poor sound proofing between rooms (beach front hotel), street dogs regularly on hotel premises, booking of hotel facilities only available on site at the particular hotel rather than cross centers (not hard for reception to call across and check availability for guests or a booking platform online to be out in place?). Otherwise most things were excellent, polite helpful (within bounds) staff, tasty food, beautiful settings etc.
Nick Foulds — Google review
Portal Salto Huilo Huilo is the entrance to the waterfalls named as the biological reserve where they are located. They are impressive.
There are 2 companies that provide the park service, however I would recommend to take the Parque Neltume service, as it has much better view than Portal Salto service.
You have to be prepared to walk down through steep ladders if you want to have a bottom view.
Gonzalo Contreras del Solar — Google review
A visit to these falls has been one of the highlights of our trip. The falls are magnificent and the trail to get to them is fairly easy to negociate. The whole idea of the reserve is a good pne and it has cafes etc too but could do with clearer signing and a few more staff around......
Edward March-Shawcross — Google review
It's a great place. The power of the water is impressive. Make sure to go all the way down to the bottom, river level, so you can see the falls from below.

Villarrica is an active snow-capped volcano that offers guided climbing adventures with stunning views of the surrounding lakes. The Geometric Thermal Springs, located within the Villarrica Volcano National Park, provide a natural and relaxing experience amidst native forests. Climbing the volcano is described as both challenging and rewarding, with the option to slide down on a sled after reaching the summit.
Finish climbing 10 mins ago, it was really an adventure and an great challenge. Several times nearly gave up, but finally succeed.
Strongly suggest take the cable car for the first part of climbing
remember to take sun glasses

Climbing an actual active volcano sounds pretty dope. It was! And super exhausting! The tour was phenomenal. The only downside was that we couldn't see any real lava #champagneproblems On the way down you get to use your little sled you've been carrying with you along the way and slide down the volcano on your butt. Interesting experience.
Moritz Erdt — Google review
Challenging climb but defined possible with crampons and ice ax, even without guide. Some mountaineering experience is important tho and you should feel comfortable in your gear
bendix holtgraefe — Google review
Not an easy hike, but worth it! You can find a tour company that will take you up the volcano. It took our group about 6 hours up and 2 hours on the way down (sledding down!). Make sure to bring lots of food and water in your pack and wear warm clothes and lots of layers - it's cold up there!

Dates: Sunday, Dec. 2017
Cost: $2.000CLP/pp for foreigners
Pros:
- Lots of trails to walk around with plenty of shade and quiet spots to sit and enjoy nature
- Beautiful lookout spots to take pictures of the surrounding city.
- You could definitely take a picnic and enjoy time out in nature here without being seen by others.
Cons:
- It's easy to get lost on a trail such that you have to trek back quite a bit of ways to get back to your car to check your phone often (you do have a signal)
- We thought the restaurant would be open so we did not take any food with us the day we went and for whatever reason it was not open nor were any hours posted.
Overall: We definitely plan to go back here and have a picnic and hike around the area, it's beautiful.

This is gorgeous. You can feel the history, the machinery is well preserved (some trains are in bad shape, but others are in working condition), and the guided tour includes some nice and fun historical facts. The museum is free, and there's a special travel but it was suspended because the forest fires.

It was a destination that we had between our eyebrows and last year we were close in ICALMA but for some time we did not reach Laguna Conguillio without doubting much to look recreate with each viewpoint nature expresses itself in such a rich way that only those of us who like to be in through it we can perceive the energy and harmony of mother earth.
Very good access for vehicles, cabins, food, ecotourism, trails, there are only more days to enjoy.

Beautiful park. Will add info on roads as of April 2024 as was hard to find online. Lago conguillo is kind of the mid point between curacautin and melipeuco. We had a 2WD sedan and came from the north (curacautin).
Road was okay with one steep manageable gravel section right after the laguna capture until just before getting to the main parking area at Lago conguillo. Was a fairly steep descent on firm road but had some deep ruts that were challenging to navigate.
Had to debate going back that route vs continuing through the park and looping back around via Temuco. Ultimately decided on the latter and although it was a long drive was probably the right decision as it would have been tough to tackle with 2WD and not worth the risk. Also the drive back to Melipeuco had some wonderful scenery that was worth it.
It had been pretty dry in the lead up to our visit so I don't imagine it could be much better. Could probably have tried going back towards curacautin but would have been risky. Would recommend 4WD unless coming from the south.

Gorgeous park with a variety of trails. Slight downside is that the park is designed for visitors with cars. As mochileros we had to walk quite a while on the roads in between trails. However people inside the park are very generous and will often offer lifts so it is possible- but more complicated- to visit without a car.

Must see national park in Chile. Although there is absolutely no signal or WiFi, it is a must see! We spend 3 days and 2 nights here and it wasn't enough to conquer the park. The hikes are stunning, the lakes are gorgeous and there's kayaking and a few other activities to do too. When I was googling which parks to prioritise during my time in Chile, this one didn't come up. But after talking to Chilean's who've done most of the parks, this is the favourite for everyone and I can see why. Will definitely be visiting again to do the hikes we couldn't do. You can stay on the outskirts and drive in, stay in cabins in the park or camp. As English staying in Santiago, we didn't have camping equipment so opted for a cabin in the park itself. Very pricey, not very clean and surprisingly noisy because the smaller cabins (2/3) people are one cabin split into two. Our neighbours in the other half were VERY loud at all hours and for this reason we would either bite the bullet and buy camping equipment or drive in each day as it ruined the experience and was annoying considering the cost.

It's truly amazing. The Araucana forest nestled among snow-capped peaks was unforgettable.
But do not expect to get near the volcanoes unless you are seriously fit, very well equipped, and part of a similarly-equipped group. With enough time to go slow, because the massive chunks of volcanic slag make seriously hard terrain.

Great park with varied hikes. A good option to beat the crowd is to get there on a Sunday and stay at one of the lodgings/campsites which allows you to visit the park on Monday when it is closed. The Pastos blancos + escoriales loop is quite beautiful (better than sierra nevada in my opinion).

This park is a great opportunity to relax in nature, choosing a walking route according to your own strengths: there is a very easy track 1 km long, there is a more difficult one for 6 km (12 km round-trip) and very difficult for 19 km with a serious climb. In the first two tracks you will find a walk through a stunning forest with araucaria and other giant trees, and in the third - a long walk through lava wastelands and slag cones with amazing views.

They say that on the entire trail you can see the 4 volcanoes.
On the way out it is a path with a considerable inclination, between 20 to 40° in some sections. I doubt that a child or someone not used to trekking can do it easily, and due to its distance and inclination I think it is a medium-high trail. It took us 2:30 hours to go up, with breaks only to catch our breath and hydrate, and 1 hour to go down.
But the view is totally worth it.
You only need trekking shoes and water, because the path itself is only with leafy dirt, but inclined, that is its only difficulty.

Such a beautiful collection of art including the famous mural "Presencia de América Latina" (Presence of Latin America), painted in the lobby of the art house , by Mexican artist Jorge González Camarena between November 1964 and April 1965, its principal theme is the unity and brotherhood of the different Latin American cultures.
You also can admire unique paints of well known Chilean artists as Pedro Lira, Onofre Jarpa, Valenzuela Llanos, etc. Most of them of XX, XIX, XVIII centuries.

Different parking lots within the mountain are run by different operators and you will have to pay full day parking twice if you have to pick up somebody at another location within the resort. Restaurants are also concessions and the customer service department will not respond if there are any issues, they will just reply “it is your problem for switching parking lots” or “it is not our problem, they are different companies”..etc. Not a place to spend all your money and enjoy a peaceful vacation I must say.

The score is because the attention we receive from the people who work at the campsite leaves a lot to be desired, very rude and ungrateful! Once you arrive at the lagoon you realize that it is appropriated by a campsite that unfortunately is not up to the standard of the place. The lagoon is totally worth it but it is a shame to appropriate a natural reserve in this way, fencing it with wire.

LAS LEÑAS

Ski & Snowboard Areas
Lessons, rentals & on-mountain restaurants are offered at this scenic ski resort with hotel options.
A beautiful place for those who dream of skiing and enjoying snow activities.
Nadia Kostiuk — Google review
Las Leñas is well known for their après time vibes, a few challenging runs and the best off piste terrain in Argentina. And, of course, being the only true ski in / ski out resort down here.
And boy … do they know that and maker that.
As mentioned it’s THE place if you enjoy off piste… the actual runs are average, not that challenging leaving aside Marte zone where you can’t get some fun advanced terrain. They have a respectable beginners area for Argentina standards and adding they hotel / bars / restaurant offer right at the base, a place to be enjoyed by skiers of all levels.
It does gets terribly packed in the heavy season, not a lot of lifts makes that experience not that enjoyable so it would be wise to try to avoid July … but their snow in the last few years was scarce at best … so trip down when you have to!
Paulo Puglisi — Google review
Great tracks, and great snow most of the season. Off tracks are easy to find and also really fun. Views are excellent too. Problems are the snow by mid August, and the lifts are the slowest you'll ever encounter.

Don’t ever come to this place , all the facilities and hotels are all outdated and horribles dirty ! Everything’s stuck in the 80 ‘s , besides how racists are all the services members especially if you are an Asian avoid this place , spend your money somewhere else but not here! I mean not all the Argentinian they are so racists but the people that they can afford to come here , even the place is crabby but they think they are rich 😂and consider themself Europeans 😂 ! Soooo listen to my advise and don’t come at all 🤠👍

Perched in the amazing peaks of the Argentine Andes this is a small ski resort by European standards but the piste skiing is great as long as the Marte lift is open (maybe 50% of the time). The lifts are old and slow
Alex Campbell — Google review
I have my own disagreement on how to rate this.
As a “ski resort” I rate it below average (3 stars is average), comparing it to other major sky resorts of Argentina.
As a “Mountain to sky” I can extend to to 4 points, with many good runs and nice snow.
So let’s see why 2 stars:
1. poor poor poor poor infrastructure... been here 20 years ago, and it seems all the same. One day did spend an unreasonable time doing lines for the lifts (meaning that in all ski resorts you will do reasonable lines).
2. Ski rentals offer is poor, leading the companies to charge you whatever they want, since there is no competition.
3. Very small places to eat at the mountains , one better than the other, still not at the quality you expect for the money you pay
4. Not good airport communication, so you pay a lot of extra money if you do not have a package
5. Since is just that, a ski resort far away from cities, you have to just relax and be prepared to charge you expensive prices to eat or drink.
I’m sorry is not as good as its marketing
Makes it look like.
Milton Schneider — Google review
If you're used to northern hemisphere skiing, this isn't as good as say, Squaw Valley, California or Kitzbuhel, Austria.
Argentines seem to be more concerned about posing than skiing. But then these are the rich 5%.
However, if your here in July then it's pretty decent for South America. Not expensive either.

The guide at the Planetario Malargüe provided an excellent explanation, delivering intriguing and easily understandable information. The projection was captivating, and the installation where they showcased the film was beautiful. However, a drawback was that all seats were occupied without any social distancing measures in place. To address this issue, it would be beneficial to offer more time slots with fewer people in attendance.

(Translated by Google) It is a must-see in Malargüe, it has two times to attend the guided tour and the projections inside the pyramid. The locations are numbered so I recommend going early because the later numbers have a worse location and you could also run out of a place if a LOT of people go (the same, I arrived a few minutes after the start of that guide's shift and got a place). The projections are some very good, others decent, but what is very good are the explanations of whoever is speaking at that moment, very clear and interesting.
The first part, in which a guide accompanies the tour through the rest of the planetarium, is a bit poor because a single guide is in charge of all the stands, which makes the explanations of each one very superficial. It could be solved with a little more staff.
It is inexpensive, the visit costs $200 per person (adults), and the visiting hours are 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., each visit lasting 2 hours.
