What a fantastic place. Very diverse: Great views of the canyons, natural pools, and calm water falls, great for a bath.
There is basic infra-structure with some food and drinks for sale.
There are some rooms and a campsite area, but I would recommend this location to spend the best part of a day and stay somewhere in Capitólio.

This is definitely the best tourist attraction in the Capitólio Canyons area and well worth a visit during your stay in the area. There are good infrastructure providing restrooms and safe walkways around the canyons as well as a restaurant with great views not to forget the amazing Zipline adventure across the canyon.

Amazing place!
Worth every penny of the ticket (R$70) and you can contract the zip line (+R$ 80).
Many lookouts!

Must see in Capitólio. The entrance is not cheap (80 reais, you can get a 20% discount if you book online) but worth every real. Incredible views and very refreshing waterfalls where you can swim.
We were told that one ticket is valid for 3 following days. We'll check if it works. 😉
AnnaT — Google review
Not worth R$40. The view is pretty, but the natural pools are nothing special and you will have to wait in line to enter. At most, you can spend 15 minutes in the pools and 30 minutes on the trail. Also, the lady with the megaphone at the pools is very rude to visitors.

Inhotim Museum is a vast contemporary art museum and botanical garden located near Brumadinho, 50km west of Belo Horizonte. This open-air complex features 23 modern art galleries showcasing international artwork that is often monumental in size. The gardens contain over 4000 species of plants, including an extensive collection of palm trees and lakes with swans.
Excellent place to expend all day long.
There different buildings with an own art exhibition.
Also you several places to lunch o take a coffee and water spots to charge your bottle.
The bathrooms are well cleaned.
The parking lot is huge
Nestor Navarro — Google review
This is a sensational museum. We can feel modern art world with all of our 5 senses.
Admission fee is only 50BRL per adult,
25B RL per kids for 1 day.
There have a lot of outside artworks and more than 20 architectures that have inside artworks.
It is very tough if you complete to see all artworks.
But even 1day, I’m sure you can enjoy a lot.
Even kids, they can enjoy and don’t forget to visit here. There are English guidance all places.
Papipu penta — Google review
One of the most unique and incredible museums, not just that I’ve seen in Brazil or South America but the world. Part botanical gardens, sculpture park, and gallery it’s easy to spend all day here to cover everything but two days needed to cover everything detail. There are over twenty galleries and dozens of sculptures. Recommend getting the internal cart transport to save time on longer routes and try out the Pão de Queijo at the cafe by the entrance. A king day needed to explore but worth it!
Jacob C — Google review
Was an amazing experience to visit this Open air museum. From the architecture, to Gallery’s and great food. This is a must go if your near the area. Did a full day and wasn’t able to see everything. 100% going to plan more trips here to finish seeing it all. Suggest reserving a exclusive golf cart way ahead. We thought we could get them same day but they were sold out.
Even with the golf cart I feel as if you can spend multiple days here. Also would want to come back in different seasons as the park has so much vibrant plant life that I’m sure the seasonal changes are worth seeing multiple times.
Staff was very helpful, everything was clean, and the food is top notch.

All that set on a very improbable location, on a former farm / minerals mining property turned into an open landscape exhibition area, spread throughout acres and acres of tropical gardens, fountains and lakes, by the initiative and vision of a once rich heir of a family fortune who went bankrupt while pursuing his dream of an open skies art collection, that became opened to the public in exchange for part of his debts with the government.

Beautiful caves with very good accent lighting and sturdy walkways and stairs throughout. I could literally spend all day inside the cave. If you don't speak Portuguese, call ahead and try arranging for an English tour guide. I didn't but still enjoyed the tour even though I couldn't understand a word the guide was saying.
Contrary to what Google maps says, there is not a natural history museum here. There is one skeleton of a prehistoric animal inside the one cave, but that's all.

Partage Shopping Betim is a well-known indoor mall that boasts 240 stores spread across four levels. In addition to the wide range of shops, visitors can also enjoy a cinema, trampoline park, and various restaurants. While it may be slightly more convenient to access compared to shopping at Monte Carmo, the parking fees here are quite expensive. However, it remains uncertain if Partage Shopping Betim offers significantly more stores than its competitor.

Here is the world heritage was registered in 1985.
If you transfer between Belo Horizonte and Ouro Preto, you can stop here easily.
There are beautiful sculptures made by Aleijadinho.
Inside church is also beautiful space.
There is a vivid altar.
We went there on Friday afternoon, there were few people.
It was calm and silent place to feel Baroque art.

This sanctuary in Minais Gerais, south of Belo Horizonte was built in the second half of the 18th century. It consists of a church with a magnificent Rococo interior of Italian inspiration; an outdoor stairway decorated with statues of the prophets; and seven chapels illustrating the Stations of the Cross, in which the polychrome sculptures by Aleijadinho are masterpieces of a highly original, moving, expressive form of Baroque art.

The Mineirão Stadium is a massive sports complex that was constructed in 1965. It is primarily used for football games and boasts several amenities such as a museum and dining options. The access ramps are well-designed, making it easy to enter and exit the stadium. The seats are comfortable enough, although local fans prefer to watch the game standing up. Visitors may sometimes have their view obstructed by large flags, but this is an accepted part of the local culture.
GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! I didn’t know they had free Brazilian tears to drink in the dispensers when Germany played them… A great show to watch. The game was just as one sided as the taste of salt of the Brazilian tears. Overall I rate this experience 1/7

Well thought of access ramps make very easy to get in and out of the stadium. Seats are comfortable enough, although you hardly use it as local fans watch the game standing mostly. Big flags also block the view at times, but it is part of the local culture so that was OK. Good sandwiches and beer available inside. Great experience

I went to my first football game here and it was amazing. I didn’t even like football (scoccer) before and now I’m addicted. The energy from the Cruzeiro fans is amazing. Never seen it heard anything like it in my life.
I just have one problem. The VIP section isn’t that great. I paid R 750 for premium seats ( Hall Principal 203 VIP) and it didn’t come with food or drinks. One the website it said it would. I was pretty upset at first but honestly the game was so good I forget about it after an hour.

The Pampulha art museum in Brazil is renowned for its contemporary architecture designed by Oscar Niemeyer and sprawling gardens overlooking a lagoon. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the location and take pictures while also learning about the project Domingo no Museu, which offers concerts featuring eclectic artists playing authentic Brazilian music on the first Sunday of each month. The museum is an excellent starting point for a scenic walk along the river where one may spot various animals in its small garden.
Very modern place, breath taking architecture and landscaping. You will find a variety of modern pieces and contemporary art inside the museum.

Magestic building thanks to genius Oscar Niemeyer, although the exhibit wasn't that interesting and it is quite small. Hard to get there if you are not driving there. They could do something more interesting with the cafeteria, since it was empty and I was really looking for a soda...
Daniela Orozco — Google review
The modern museum is part of Pampulha's architectural complex and one more exemple of Oscar Niemeyer 'avant garde' work. Its gardens by the lagoon and the view deserve pictures. Look for informations about the project Domingo no Museu (Sunday at the Museum) and you'll have your best sunday morning in BH. The first sunday of each month the museum has a concert at the big saloon, always with eclectical artists that play the true brazilian music.

Belo Horizonte's central market is a bustling warren of stalls selling food, drinks and crafts from all over Brazil. Highlights include Minas Gerais' delicious treats - like sweet caramelized doce de leite and goiabada jelly - as well as the many no-frills bars inside the market serving beer at night.
A destination when in Belo Horizonte! The food, the shops, the people, the experience is absolutely unique and overwhelmingly outstanding.
I love everything about Mercado Central de BH. I always make a point to stop, grab a bite to eat, and drink (Choppe or caipirinha!) and bring something you only find in Brazil, home.
My suggestion, if you can get to Mercado by public transportation or walking, you'll be saving money you can spend shopping or eating because parking is VERY expensive at R$12/hr which can rack up quickly if you make your visit an afternoon event.

A MUST GO/ SEE/ VISIT every time I am back in Belo Horizonte, Brazil! It NEVER disappoints, delicious food and freshly prepared drinks everywhere, sugar cane juice, baked goods such as "coxinhas", "kibes", sandwiches, and a whole LOT more that makes this special place a MUST GO EVERY TIME! The endless variety of local shops and "cachaças" is astounding, and it keeps getting bigger and better every year, I always bring a huge number of bottles of Brazilian Cachaças for friends and family in the UK and they love this cane sugar rum right before they get to bed any time of the year, summer or winter & ask for more whenever we go again!
People are kind, friendly and helpful wherever you stop by to try the incredible selection of cheese, sweets and whatever else that catches your eye!
Easy access and fun anytime, but try not to go during the weekends when there's a lot more people/ visitors not just from other states in Brazil, but also lots of people from Europe.
Monday thru friday works much better and you can get better, faster services, but if you aren't in a hurry, then it's great anytime!
Can't wait to go back in march 2024!

I heard it is recommended to be careful of putting your phone in your back pocket but we had a great time. Many things to see and buy here, and great food. This is a great for tourist or foodie in Belo Horizonte. There is a massive selection of gourmet and specialty foods, fruits, vegetables and meats in this market. Also you sample several different types and flavors of caçhaca here.

Mercado Central it is like... another dimension... A magical place surrounded of vivid colors, unmistakable smells... hundreds of people dribble the congested and tight hallways. Looking for the best deal, from thousands of stores that side-by-side compete for your hard earned money. The Mercado Central is a complex fusion of races, ages, dialects, culture, and flavors... What ever you want, you will find it, even if you don't need you will get it. More then just a market, it is a life experience, come, embrace it, enjoy it and come back for more...

Great place in BH to stroll, walk, sit and observe the historic buildings in the surroundings. The landscaping is beautiful and very well maintained. It has the so called cultural circuit around it, including different museums, knowledge institutions and at least one theater. The CCBB (cultural center of Banco do Brasil) stays nearby and is a must do visit. Also notice the wavy building, it is Oscar Niemeyer’s project. And such a beautiful one.

Wonder place to visit in Belo Horizonte and in any city (main cities in Brazil have the Cultural Center of Banco do Brazil). Entry is free. Here there is an interior terrace shared by two cafes/ restaurants, with very nice ambiance; the prices are a bit too high, so it is not for the backpacker, but it is nice to have a different experience.
The exhibits are usually well curated. Currently there are two, one of Antonio Poteiro, Brazilian popular artist and one of Man Ray, the famous photographer. Both very interesting and, again, with free entrance.
Coming here gives you the opportunity to enjoy the Freedom square (Praça da Liberdade) where it is settled. Don’t miss the wavy building of Oscar Niemeyer, renown Brazilian modernist architect.

This attraction can be accessed by car or on foot, and there is no park fee to enter. While there are no food amenities available, visitors are welcome to bring their own snacks and water to enjoy as they take in the beautiful sights. It's charming and at the same time intriguing because I was impressed by the preservation of the paintings even after so many years (10 thousand), how is that possible? I also thought about how they lived, what does each drawing really represent? We, current humans, imagine the meaning of each drawing, but are we right or wrong?
It's a very rich tour. I just hope that there is more encouragement and investment in preservation by public authorities.
