Monte Verde is a beloved destination for many, including myself, who has visited seven times in as many years. This charming place offers a variety of activities and attractions that cater to different interests. One of the main draws is its gastronomy, making it an increasingly popular choice for couples seeking a romantic getaway. However, the natural beauty, climate, and hospitality also contribute to its appeal. When planning a trip to Monte Verde, one common question that arises is where to dine.

Trilha da Pedra Redonda is a relatively easy hiking trail that starts at the end of Av. das Montanhas or can be reached from the Plato trail. It takes about an hour to complete and offers a tranquil experience through lush greenery. The trail leads to a 1990m rounded peak, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Hikers are advised to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, bring water, and apply sunscreen due to windy conditions on the rocks and intense sun exposure.

The trail is very easy. But if you don't have the breath, you'll suffer a little.
The guide who took us was super understandable. Walked slowly
He took beautiful photos for us.
*Important detail*: wear sneakers, very comfortable clothes, a bottle to put water in the spring, no bags, hats or caps. Use lots of sunscreen, on your ears and neck. It's very windy on the rocks. The sun is intense. Enjoy the view. It's worth all the sacrifice to climb.

Foi difícil subir
A trilha é bem facilitada.
Aproveite a vista. Vale muito todo o sacrifício pra subir.

(Translated by Google) Experience out of 10! The trail was really cool, when I did it I didn't expect sun, but it was worth it! In the sun it must be even more beautiful. It's not difficult, but elderly people or people with leg problems should avoid it, as it takes about 40 minutes going up and 40 minutes going back down. Up there, try taking a photo with mirroring in the water, it looks really cool.

(Translated by Google) The trail is light to moderate. In fact, I found it more difficult to drive up to the parking lot than to hike the trail 😅. The route is all signposted, there are no secrets. And that's why you don't need a guide.
We did it at 2:00 pm and it was super peaceful, as well as being cool because of the forest. As it was a bit cloudy, when we arrived at the top of the rock, it was a mild temperature and without strong sun.
The view is truly impressive, a breathtaking 360º view.
Parking: R$20
Entrance: R$35

A trilha é leve a moderada.
Estacionamento: R$20

Additionally, you need to pay for parking, which costs 20 reais per car.
I hadn't found anywhere that I needed to book an appointment for this tour.
Unfortunately, due to the available times for the trail and the amount charged, I didn't do it.

(Translated by Google) Pico da Pedra Partida is the second highest in the Monte Verde region and has a beautiful view of much of the Paraíba Valley.
The access trail has indicative signs and red ribbons on some trees along the way, especially in places that may raise questions.
It took us 1 hour to climb the approximately 900m to the top. And on the way back we only spent 40 minutes.
At the top there is a sign indicating the altitude and name, great for photos.
The downside is restricted access by MOVE, which charges R$35.90/person. This amount could very well be used for a "single pass" with access to the 5 peaks in the region. This would both attract more tourists and capture the resources necessary for improvements and conservation of the site.

(Translated by Google) Wonderful landscape and worth the effort. The trail is not well signposted but it is possible to follow the path. If you are not physically fit, the trail takes around 2h - 2h30 (don't be in a rush to get there) and has complicated and slippery sections.
The trail has 2 viewpoints (close to the final destination). Go with good shoes, water, a blouse and long pants.
I recommend leaving in the morning, preferably before 9, to avoid the midday sun on top of the broken stone.

Such a beautiful place with kind-hearted staff! I’m not a local and didn’t know that they only accept cash and Pix, and since my card was international they couldn’t accept it. The girl selling tickets let me in for free and covered my parking as well. Such a simple yet kind act, it was genuinely the highlight of my day! This park was absolutely beautiful and worth the 40 Reis entrance fee. The gardens were all well-maintained. The views of the surrounding valleys were spectacular. It's an easy stroll through the park, and there's even a maze to navigate through. There are various plants to see and coy fish in the ponds. And there's a tree house you can visit. You only need 1-2 hours total to see everything. The employees were nice, but it may be difficult to find someone that speaks English.

The Boa Vista Palace is a historical museum that showcases objects and art from different periods. The building was originally built as a summer residence but has since become an important museum with works by Tarsila do Amaral, Anita Malfatti and Di Cavalcanti in its collection. Outside the building there is a beautiful garden which is the only place you can take pictures.
It's a wonderful building. You can see art and building from different times, from 18th century chests to nowadays paintings. The place is a must go to any lover of art or/and history.
Outside the building there's a garden which is the only place you can take pictures of, and it's very beautiful too.

Nice the palace is like a French chatu of the 17th century is a copy I would say but the system is not very efficient to take visits as you have to go in person should be via internet like all other places in the town are this makes it difficult to visit and becomes a poor quality service and poor efficiency in today's days.

Very Nice place with gorgeous sight to the city.
The buildings have nice architecture and holds some important cultural events as music shows during the winter music festival and paintings and other artistic exhibitions.

Part of the palace is sometimes used for official political activities.
Great place worth visiting.

A tourist attraction in Sao Jose dos Campos called Ducha de Prata is a beautiful waterfall and shower that can be accessed by wooden decks. There are nearby stalls selling souvenirs. The water was pretty and interesting, but there were no actual trails to hike to get away from the crowds. It was pretty busy when we were there, so it may not be the best choice if you want to visit on your own.
It’s a very beautiful place and there are shops you can shop souvenirs from. The only issue is the issue of getting a ticket to enter the main areas there but you can still view for free from the first stairs and also take pictures. We didn’t stay for long because we went there by the sight seeing train from the capivari.

Beautiful scenery. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area. If you see the waterfalls, keep going down the path until the end. There are some hidden waterfalls underneath where most people stop. The shops and tourist attractions are fun. Very down to earth location. Most of the shops close early so plan accordingly. The most popular tourist attractions in Campos do Jordao are very close to the city center. There is the 'Teleferico', the first built in Brazil and one of the iconic photos of Capivari. When taking a ride on one of the pedal boats, you reach the top of the mountain in just five minutes, where you will be treated to an amazing view of all of the area, surrounded by steep hills.

Morro do Elefante is a mountain top spot with amazing city and mountain views. It can be accessed by car or cable car, but the latter option is payable. The view from up there is definitely worth it!
Overlooking Campos do jordoan, beautiful European style town right in brazil. You can take a "ski lift" type ride up or down to the overlook. Couple of little shops and food vendors so you can spend a little extra time enjoying the view. The photos are what so much of the home, hotels, shops and restaurants are like.

It was OK but not that much of a thing to see
you have to pay to get a good photo photo it was around 5reais
The cable car is not working now so if you want to try the cable car you have to wait-a-bit more
It's also not easy to park

Beautiful view in a place that could get potential to be better.
We climbed to the elephant's hill using the scared cable car, I believe its was created with the city and never modernized.
My husband, who is Canadian, liked the experience more than I did. He was scared but he found excited at the same time. I think that because I have already been to Campos do Jordão several times, I think at this point the city, which seems to be very rich looking at the hotels in the area and people who frequent it, should have already renovated that a long time ago and have made something much better and more attractive, as the other countries that have mountains for Ski. I think don’t need to be exactly the same, but Mount Tremblant in Quebec also has a small area up hill and its not so fancy, but little more attractive and safe.
Anyway, the view is very beautiful and we can see the whole city, mountains and part of the other surrounding regions. When we get up there again, the attractions could be much more elaborate and modernized giving opportunity to locals to get better jobs, show a nicer view and give to the city, locals and visitors a better structure. I think the place with elephants is a good idea, especially for children, but they could modernize it and charge a little for the entrance to maintain the place. They also could make a kind of a little mall where people could expose their crafts making their products more attractive and a nice cafe or restaurant with a lookout ... Anyway, use a little of the American style of exposing your business, which could be better for everybody. If I had money to invest, that unfortunately is not the case at the moment, I would probably organize people and get that changed for the benefit of all city and visitors.
Grade: Eli = 3, Serge = 3
Recommend: It’s worth for the Mountain View.

Outdoor recreation park offering zip lining, canopy walks & bike rentals in a forest locale.
Fabulous park, so much to see and do, some easy walks, pedalling swan-shaped boats, stunning nature, playgrounds and cafes and a fabulous restaurant (Dona Chica) which is award-winning and yet cheaper than the Capivari places. Signage is exclusively in Portuguese (which is a shame) but it's easy to find your way around. Kids love to run around and explore, don't expect European safety standards in the playgrounds (as usual in Brazil) but they're good fun.

A nice park to walk around. There are several short hikes. We really enjoyed Trilha dos campos (3km), which takes you up to good views and also winds along the river for a stretch. The trail to the waterfall was much more crowded and more of a road than a trail. Overall, the park itself was very crowded excepting Trilha dos Campos. It is possible to access by bus or uber and you do have to pay to enter.

Beautiful place, very well conserved with detailed maintainance.
The park is an environmental reserve.
Activities: there are trails with different kinds of difficulty and length.
There are food trucks during the peak of the season, however there are two places that serves food all year.
There are activities for children too and playgrounds.
There is bike rent and a shop with handcrafted materials made of wood.

Very few shops around, most of them are closed. Good choice for snacks and food but no coffee shops. Some bars around but nothing to enjoy a good coffee or tea. Location is not good and probably this is the reason the place is not very popular with locals. Not easy reachable by foot for tourists without own transportation. The mall was building far away from city center and main high street to keep shoppers on foot away, well they managed to keep most shoppers away, I can say the development was a disaster for choosing a poor location.

Due to the shopping policy stores are really expensive and the only thing to do there is fast food eating/cinema. Moreover, a lot of stores have closed or moved away from the shopping. And, they still charging for parking spots. No surprise it might be closing on 2020

Upon entering the place, with free parking right next door, you hear light and soft Gregorian-style music playing in a low but audible tone, which invites the faithful to focus on their prayers! What draws the attention of the different Catholic churches is that their external aspects are different from each other, however, the interior follows the standard of respect and invitation to prayer! Rest assured that you will be able to visit and receive a welcome from our Lord!

A great place to feel closer to Mother Nature. The paths surrounded by tall trees, the mineral water fountains built with an old classic look, the sound of birds, the wind in the trees, and many, many cicadas. I'm born in Caxambu, and live here for almost all my life, and the Water park is like a sanctuary for me, where I feel safe and sound. Last week was my first time swimming in the pool and it couldn't be more fun and pleasing! There's so many good things I could talk about the Park, but just being in a place like this is an experience I can not find words to describe. You'll must feel it yourself.

The Pirâmide São Tomé das Letras, located in Sao Thome das Letras, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, offers stunning panoramic views of mountains, valleys, and sunsets. The simple stone hut with a pyramidal roof provides a vantage point to capture beautiful landscapes and meet friendly people from different countries. The stunning church named after Tiradentes' patron saint, Igreja de Santo Antonio, is a remarkable work of Aleijadinho and one of his final designs. The interior is resplendent with Old Testament allusions and features notable objects like the polychrome organ brought from Portugal in 1798 by donkey and the seven golden phoenixes that suspend candleholders with braided chains. The sundial at the entrance dates back to 1785.

(Translated by Google) It's a small museum that was built where an old prison was, you can see a space where there was a solitary confinement (you can't see it very well, because the glass is a little foggy). Now the museum itself is for images of Mary's mother, so it ends up being very specific. Fountains
Fountain of St. Joseph, also known as Chafariz de Sao Jose, is a historic site built in 1749 that served as a crucial stop for travelers to replenish their canteens and water their animals. Despite its slightly worn appearance, the fountain exudes an air of tranquility with its surrounding greenery, making it an ideal spot for picnics or seeking respite from the heat.
Very cool historic fountain. It was very unusual because it is in someone's front yard. The home located behind the fountain is privately owned. it was a little disappointing to see only two of the three heads of the fountain working at the time we visited. Hopefully the caretaker has plans to restore this historic Monument.
