I visited it on cyber Monday! Christmas decoration is amazing as well as the dancing fountain.
The brands are at reduced price. I adore this place

Huge area with so many branded shops. Latest fashions and prices are very reasonable.

Great outlet, one of the best I have been to so far. It’s pretty small for an outlet but had a lot of good options for winter clothes and ski clothes in particular. They have an interactive map stands and a lot of places to seat. There is a big food court as well. Commute form Lyon is not super convenient (it’s a 20 mins walk from the station if you don’t have a car) but it’s expected for an outlet
Alexey Subach — Google review
Very nice outlet with limited shops. Delicious cafes and restaurants. Friendly staff all around the outlet. They have an office for tax-return as well. Christmas decorations are all over the outlet.

Shameful! Impossible to leave the parking lot. How is this safe??? What if there was a fire?! Where is the security handling the flow of traffic? We’ve tried calling customer services multiple times but it just rings and hangs up… Don’t have sales if you can’t handle the number of customers!!!

Happening shopping place with good brands, cafes and restaurants also playground for little ones to chill out. Huge parkings and clean wash rooms. Possibility to do paper for tax return. Better come during opening hours otherwise May become overcrowd

This is the perfect place to shop!
Good deals, especially for kids, before going back to school.
Lots of food and snack shops.
And a band that was singing great songs!

Spacious outlet with a mix of the usual sports brands , French brands , even some brands for the home (i.e. cooking and bedding ) .Note that there is a covered parking at the back of the outlet . Several food and drinks options and space for kids to feel free .

Worst mall in the entire world. We drive 2 hours from the parking on the 4th floor to exit through traffic. Mall management did not regulate traffic. Such unrespected mall to their time customers.

Amazing shopping mall! Overpriced and impractical. My young adult daughter only found one store with somewhat reasonably-priced clothing. The fountain show with music was beautiful and the mall is clean and gorgeous.

I think this Factory Outlet was very nice.
The Factory outlet was located between Grenoble and Lyon. We departed from Grenoble and it took around 1 hour from our hotel at Grenoble. It was easy to find the Factory Outlet as it was located near the exit of toll gate.
The car parks were plenty. I would like to advice to arrive to this place at the morning. Our experience when we arrived around 10AM, there still not so many people so it was convenient to walk around the place.
There were many brands available at this Factory Outlet. I think it will take 1 full day if you want to explore all shops. Most fashion brands were there such as Prada, Miumiu, Furla, Longchamp as well as sport brand such as Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, Puma and many more. I think this is good if you bring your family or friends to this place as they will have many choices to see and shop. We found the price of the goods were good. If you are foreigner then you can apply for tax refund. You just simply ask the shop office to help you arrange for the tax refund application.
If you are hungry, there were many food store available at the site. Be noticed that around lunch time, the food stores were crowded. We took pizza for our lunch and it was delicious.
There also small playground for your kids to play there. I also noticed the toilets were clean and plenty.
Overall, I would like to recommend this place.

Almost 2 hours of walking, in the shade of the forest, with its century-old trees, its feathered and furry inhabitants strolling alongside us. Bring good sneakers because it’s a bit of a climb. The only downside is that it lacks a little place at the exit of the park to quench your thirst 😉 Very nice outing to do with the family

(Translated by Google) I really loved this park which remains very natural.
To begin with, bank cards are not accepted so plan well in advance. Then we start with a short tour of the castle, then the park with some animals. Nothing comparable with a zoo of course, but I liked it, it's authentic, simple and effective.
With 2 children, it took us 2.5 hours to tour the estate, and we had the chance to watch some animals being fed.
I really recommend it and I will come back with great pleasure!

Quite cool even today with 35°

They don't take credit cards
Not really suitable for people who have walking problems

(Translated by Google) The welcome is good but 11€ adult we will say that it is for the animals so it's okay but otherwise it's not worth it, afterward we can clearly see the deer...and the wolves. Check and cash accepted only. We arrived at 5 p.m. and asked the lady at reception if it was better to go to the park after the castle. She told us yes, but when we returned at 5:40 p.m. it was closed, so that’s really not nice. I don't recommend it at all, just maybe for people who live nearby, but it's quick to do. Positive point: the animals which are truly free, they are happy and it shows. Wolves are not like in zoos, they are agile. I didn't try the toilets but I saw from afar so there are indeed toilets a little before the entrance.

Museum and site of Saint-Romain-en-Gal Vienne
Archaeological museum
Museums
History Museums
Visitors can explore extensive archeological ruins & hear how people lived in Ancient Roman times.
There are 2 elements to this museum: (1) The indoor exhibition, (2) Outdoor excavation site.
(1) Do pick up the audio guide it provides a vastly comprehensive story of the exhibition and paints the story of Ancient Vienne. Do not forget to go up the stairs to see the large mosaic!
(2) A very vast excavated area with plenty to see! With a little imagination the lives and living of the wealthy Romans really comes to life here.
Overall a fantastic Museum, 11/10 would recommend!
Estimated time needed: 3-4hrs (With audio guide)
Joel Lee — Google review
Overall a nice museum with especially interesting floor mosaics that are in very good shape. A big collection of tools for day to day usage in Roman households. There's free english audio guides but not English written explanations (only French). The outside ruins are less interesting.
Stijn Floren — Google review
One of the best sites to see the second biggest city from the Roman Empire. Beautiful inside and outside, lots to see and it’s really worth a stop by.
Andréas Driot — Google review
Two part museum, one traditional inside part and then the actual ruins outside the museum. The inside part is housed in a modern spacious building, many beautiful mosaics but not so many other items. Many of the signs are in French only which is a bit of a shame (says the English spoken 😉). There is an optional audioguide though. The outside part was my favourite - fantastic feeling to walk along the old roads and think about the similarities between then and now. Many of the signs where a bit weathered and not the easiest to read though, but again an audioguide is available - but I prefer to have my hands free and rather read then listen. Plenty of staff and security people on the site - almost to many... but all friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit
Joakim Ölund — Google review
Good audio guide and lots of interesting ruins to see. You can really visualize the massive homes of the Roman elite as you walk through the site.
Chris Martin — Google review
Fascinating uncovering of a Gallo Roman site and supporting museum where the mosaics and daily objects are displayed. Would recommend museum first then outdoor visit once you have an idea of what the ruins correspond to. The text is only in French but there's a good free audioguide in others to explain things both inside and outside. Staff efficient and friendly. Upstairs gallery for visiitng collections is closed for lunch from 12:30. Parking next to museum, cash only machines 30 cents per 15minutes. Can also park on otherside of river and walk over.
Nick Gray — Google review
It was a wonderful visit and very educational plus the Incredibly beautiful pieces and the staff were pleasant. I totally recommend visiting
Abdulaziz A — Google review
Very cool indoor museum with mosaics aplenty. Outdoor ruins were interesting but it was very sunny, refrigerated water stations made it okay.
The Roman Temple of Augustus and Livia, constructed in 1BC, is a significant part of the city's rich historical heritage. It stands alongside other ancient monuments such as the Theatre Antique and the Garden of Cybele with its Gallo-Roman archaeological remains. The city also showcases medieval architecture, including the Saint-Andre-le-Bas Church and the Saint-Maurice Cathedral.
Very well preserved (and rebuilt) remnant of Roman times. Large temple building with pillars, and an interior area which you may be able to visit (if gate is unlocked). No charge.

2 Pl. du Palais Charles de Gaulle, 38200 Vienne, France
Ruins of a stone-built, first-century Roman theater with a summer program of live music & dance.
Another well-preserved display of Roman architecture that was (re)discovered in the last century. It makes you want to yell, “Are you not entertained?” from the stage, even if in “The Gladiator,” that was done on circuses/coliseums and not in amphitheaters. For those needing a workout, I recommend climbing all the way up to the top - buns of steal for free!
When you’re back on the streets, look out for tiny copper circles on the floor with a sort of a tree motive: follow these markers around Vienne for other beautiful things to see!

Catch any show here! Jazz fest was an awesome experience - so cool to be able to sit in such an ancient and still functional theater. Bring a seat cushion. Parking in the city may not be easy but note that if you don’t want to wait for the 1am back to Lyon you will have very little options as we could not find an Uber or taxi out.
It worth getting there early or staying late to visit the courtyard nearby.

Great visit if you've never seen a Roman theater before. Otherwise, just average. Gates were locked when I visited 2 times. However, there's a better view above. It's been retrofitted for modern shows and looks like a great venue for that.

The annoyance is very well stocked and the choice is plentiful, enough to make any epicurean and of course any foodie salivate! The other side of the coin is that the prices are also a little higher, but it's a choice. On the other hand, parking is a hassle where you have to park next to Casino!

Had an amazing experience! I was looking forward to my trip to Firminy, especially the guided tour of the Housing Unit. Unfortunately, the tickets on the website were sold out, but after emailing the staff they made it possible for me and my friend to have the tour, which turned out to be amazing. The guide made sure to include us (non-French) in the tour and translated most of the important information. Everyone was really nice and helpful, I can’t imagine having a better experience. Thank you so much ❤️

Shade shelters with tables and benches in the shade and in the sun.

A different hiking experience in the river, very beautiful. A bit turisted so start out in good time, there is a big parking spot that cost 10€ for the whole day. Walk up the river for 1.5 hours then it gets really nice but also tricky, remember to bring lots of water.
Bjarke Felding — Google review
Amazing walk through the river, with the most beautiful views and water that gets chest deep in some places. It's essential to have water shoes because the river bank is stony. We took a long walk though the forest down on a trail that sometimes followed the river upstream until we reached a beautiful bridge, then we got into the water and we went all the way back through the riverbank until we reached another bridge where they sell ice cream 😁 bring a picnic and maybe a impermeable backpack.
Daniela Telehuz — Google review
What a beautiful location! The hike was fun and adventurous but nothing too scary. Our kids (8 and 10) loved it. The parking was easy and we didn't have to pay when we came on a Tuesday in June. I highly recommend this outing!
Josh Ryan — Google review
Superb walk. From the parking lot (€10 in july and august) i walked down to the bridge which crosses the river and took the dirt track on the left hand side to walk upstream in the direction of Leger de Mt Ventoux. Ascending 200 meters in 2 kilometers offers a fantastic view over the gorge. Later it descends back to the river. This was approx 75 minutes.
Reaching the next bridge crossing the river i started my way back through de water. The water was rather chilly but most time i could walk on the banks or just with the ankles in the water, sometimes i had to go in knee deep. Half way the gorge it starts to become more difficult to climb through the rapids. At the narrowest point, i had to go through 1.5 meter deep water to pass it. Back through the river took me about 3 hours.
Really spectacular views but make sure the weather forecast is steady. The river doesnt have much power when quiet, but a sudden flood gives you really no possibility to escape at some points.
Roy Isphording — Google review
This is a wonderful river walk that winds its way up along flat planes and through mountain gorges. You are walking IN the stream so bring water shoes or hiking sandals and while most of it is only ankle or calf deep, there are some places (near the gorges) where it gets waist deep.
You can park in 2 places. In the main parking area you walk down to the bridge and enter the river there, in the other parking lot, you have to walk up the river a little ways to get to the bridge. To get to the gorges and deeper parts of the river you must go upstream from the bridge (where they sell ice cream). You can walk for 10 minutes or for hours, and there are lots of banks on the river where you can get out of the water and sunbathe or have lunch, or just sit and relax. A great afternoon plan for couples or families.
Rowan Martindale — Google review
Great place to visit and where to spend a refreshing moment ! While you parked your car (for an amount of 10€), you can join de river and wall with your feet in the water as long as you want. Just be aware: the depth of the water can reach up to your shoulder in some places (depending of your size) and some passages can be complicated (almost climbing). But it's still an incredible place!

Georges Younes — Google review
The arc is in an excellent condition due to the recent renovation. It helps to bring binoculars so that you can study the details in the upper levels from a neck-preserving distance. Weapons for battles on land and naval battles are arranged in fine compositions, perhaps intended to demonstrate the military power of Rome. Interesting: ritual utensils are depicted, too.

This ancient Roman arch was built during the reign of Augustus (27BC- 14 AD). Although this date is still controversial, if it is correct, this arch would be older than the arch of Titus (Rome, 80 AD). The arch marks the northern entrance of Arausio (ancient name of the city of Orange). With a height of 19 meters it is far below the Arc de Triomphe of Paris and Titus, both of which have a height of 50 meters. When I visited it, it was in the process of restoration.

Could have been more impressive. The monument is in a busy round about. No restaurant or bar overlooking the monument. The parking is good and there is a small (dog) park as well. Worth a quick visit from the a7 highway but it’s not an attraction you spend lengths of time at. Pity since it has so much potential

Who knew this was here? Obviously not as breathtaking as it’s upgraded version in Paris. But you can tell this one was built by the romans celebrating their early victories on the outskirts of the Roman Empire. Worth a look and there are free chairs to sit on that tell you stories about the monument.
Ciaran Harkin — Google review
A 3.8🌟
An ancient Roman arch not far from the city center. A short walk is all it takes but will be worth your while as we found out.
Coming upon the the arch, which stood at the center of a roundabout, you could already see that it is a piece of art which had been weathered for at least a millennia. Yet it stood tall and proud.
Going closer, the detailed surface of the arch comes to light. The carvings that adorned the the walls, the arch and the whole structure still look intricate.
Couldn’t help ourselves but marvelled at the structure and took lots of photos.

The theater is stunning. We took a virtual tour which gave a mock up of how it outdoors have been in the ancient times. I really recommend a visit to this place that is quite used nowadays as well for concerts and plays.

I can recommend the Escape Game. It is highly engaging and a great way to add more depth to a visit to the Roman theater. The free audio guide can be combined with the Escape Game, but I would not suggest that. The audio fragments are relatively long and most of your attention will go to solving the puzzles of the game anyways.

Great find. We had a good walk around the whole area and had great views, even over to Mount Ventoux. And make sure to try out echoes against the amazing wall.

WOW. Absolute must see. Allow at least a couple of hours. Must be one of the best preserved amphitheatres. Don't miss the rooms behind the first tier.

This was a wonderful example of ancient Roman architecture and ingenuity that gave rise to a theater that was used for many years for all kinds of entertainment and displays. It is one of only three of this kind in the world in this shape, and is a world UNESCO site. Not to be missed,

Tickets should be aquired from the Museum in front of the Theatre and include visits to both (11.5 euro). The Theatre is not very large but tall so that the sounds can be heared well. The statue of Augustus is well preserved and is impressing!

Well preserved Roman theatre. One of the best we have in Europe. I'm glad to see that the new restoration make it available to host plays once again

Amazing to see an amphitheater almost as intact as it's prime. Have never seen a theatre with it's main stage wall intact, was quite a site to see. It's massive!
Jarrod Hunt — Google review
Very well preserved Roman theatre that is still in use, apparently with excellent acoustics. The stunning building behind the stage is one of the most remarkable of its kind for its grandeur and good condition. On the other hand, the tiers have been totally replaced by a modern structure.

What an awesome sight! Having studied Greek and Roman Theatre at college decades ago, I never expected to see a Roman Theatre in such a fantastic state of preservation - that stage building is just incredible. The audio guide was very good and the additional displays were very informative about Roman life generally. A memorable visit.

Fascinating place.
Bigger than you would expect and much more complicated. Actually an arts center as they did much more than just put on plays. They self guided tour is excellent. You leave feeling like you truly understand what a small segment of Roman life was like.
Wish we had more time to look around.
Museum is an added bonus showing what they used as everyday objects as well as props and build design elements.
Stephen G — Google review
The theater is absolutely gigantic and a must-see! It is just incredible how huge the theater is and how old.
I will definitively come here again for one of the concerts as experiencing one in such a setting must be one of the best things ever.
Not sure about people claiming the entrance fee. 13 Euros p.p. were absolutely okay and worth it unless you have a sight like this in your backyard and are used to such a sight. The audio guide was quite informative and interesting.
Annekathrin Wulfers — Google review
A piece of Roman history and architecture that withstood the test of time.
Wonder why they don’t build nowadays like they used to? 🤔
From the outside, it looks impressive. Every corner you look from, there’s a different facade which tells a story.
Entrance fee is €11.50/adult including the headset (compulsory) for the theatre and the museum across the road.
The theatre steps have been restored, so, not much of it is original. The backdrop where the stage is, is a work of art. Imagine how grand it will all be if it was still intact. However, just the remains tells you of the immense size of the building.
The Greeks and the Romans must be excellent sound technicians. So much so, the theatre is still used for concerts and performances because of its acoustics.
We climbed up to the very top, sat down to take it all in while looking down to the stage and backdrop.
If you do get a chance, visit Orange as well when you are visiting Avignon. You will not regret it.
Suggestion - the management of the theatre should give a choice to visitors to either opt for the headset or not. Other places seem to be doing that.

Arrived at 5pm Sunday, and guess what? Parking is free and the ticket to both the theatre and museum was free!
It was a good time! We didn’t have time to see more but it was enough for us.

Enormous, ancient, makes you think of where humanity was thousands of years ago. And then, what exactly caused its decline. Enjoy.
Parc de la Colline Saint-Eutrope, located in the heart of Orange, is a public park offering breathtaking panoramic views of the town, as well as Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail. The hill, once a Roman lookout point, features remnants of a 12th-century chateau that was once home to the princes of Orange.
Colline Saint-Eutrope is a great public park that's situated in the middle of the town of Orange. To reach the top on foot from the center, walk around the Roman theatre and find steps that go uphill. From there, it's quite a steep climb. Once there, the view is enough to make you forget the climb. But there's a few green paths to discover, a children's playground and more.
Georges Younes — Google review
Great park on a hill, with a really wild and natural feeling. There are many viewpoints on top from where you can admire the town and the surrounding stunning landscape, with the aim of two maps you'll find there too.
It takes just a 15-20 minutes walk, mostly on stairs.
I really recommend it at dawn and sunset.
Raffaele Bonsignori — Google review
It is one of the highest points, at 105 m, where the remains of the old castle of the Princes of Orange are located.
There is a statue of the vierge Marie and remains of the old castle of Nassau. Its current state in ruins is due to the fact that Louis XIV in 1672 ordered to besiege the citadel and destroy it, in retaliation against Guillaume III, who defended the interests of his nation (Netherlands) and the Protestant religion. From the hill you can see the whole city and the Roman theater in all its majesty.

Helen E — Google review
Very much worth the climb for the spectacular views over the city, the old theatre and the Mont Ventoux in the distance. A substantial area that includes the ruins of the palace of the princes of Orange has been fenced off for safety reasons, pending measures to stop further erosion! The remainder of the park still offers nice walks and views on a warm day.
Emmanuel Gustin — Google review
I loved this park, besides offering shade from 40c heat, if you ask locals which way to the monument or the panorama, you have the most amazing view to the Roman Theatre and the city of Orange. There are water fountains in the park also to refill your water bottle. Great for a walk or a morning run.
Carpentras Synagogue, dating back to 1367, is the oldest active synagogue in France. Initially welcoming Jews into papal territory, it became inconspicuous by the 17th century. The wood-paneled prayer hall was rebuilt in an 18th-century baroque style and downstairs holds bread-baking ovens used until 1904. The synagogue's rich history includes an extension in the 18th century and a mikveh from the 14th century.
An amazing story within these walls.

Interesting place, presenting not only the temple, but as well the "back office" - places where matza is being prepered, underground river that had been used for ceremonial ablutions.
Our guide was very knowledgeable, even though, as he mentioned himself, was not a professional guide but a volunteer.
The only drawback - the website says on Wednesdays the tour is guided in both English and French, unfortunately it is not true, our guide told us he couldn't speak English and French during the same visit becouse it would be boring...Whom for? I don't know. Luckily there was a very kind American lady speaking French, she helped us, and translated the most important information to English. Thank you again if you are reading this!

They have a very rigid policy that you must be there at exactly the time of the tour. We were not permitted entry minutes after, as the rules have changed. It is not open 2:30-4, but rather, they have tours you can book at those appointed times.
The poor rating is because although we and others were misled by the conflicting information on the internet, they were extremely inflexible about letting small children see inside. Instead, they had to wait 90 minutes until the next tour.

This was one of the highlights of my visit to the Luberon/Vaucluse area of Provence. The synagogue dates from the 1300s and is completely original. It is the oldest active synagogue in France, although these days the community of Jews in Carpentras numbers only 70 families - there are much larger communities in Marseilles, Avignon and other larger cities. I was especially pleased to be able to sit in this beautiful and inspiring place after having been disappointed by the synagogue in Cavaillon being closed for fear of terrorism.
The two women who spoke to us about the synagogue (in French and English) were welcoming and knowledgeable. There is a menorah there which is nearly 1000 years old.
During WW2, the citizens of Carpentras sheltered their Jewish community and dismantled the synagogue so that none of the beautiful things inside were destroyed. After the war, all these were brought out of hiding and reinstalled in the synagogue. The interior is made totally of wood and beautifully painted.
The history of the Jewish community in Provence is rich and interesting, and this beautiful building was the centre of life in Carpentras.

Pizza du Duché is a highly recommended establishment in Uzes, known for its delectable pizzas and friendly staff. The daily specials are not only excellent but also generously portioned. The menu offers a wide variety of pizzas cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven, ensuring a cozy atmosphere during the colder months. For those who prefer al fresco dining, there is ample seating outside to enjoy the pleasant surroundings while indulging in their mouthwatering pizzas.

We ordered pizza to take away. There was a wide selection of pizzas in offer (menu in English also). We got two large pizza and impressed with both: thin crunchy crusts with pizza sauce and toppings all the way to the edges. Absolutely delicious taste.

We went there with friends and family and the food was great! The pizzas were served on a delicious fine crust, a big range of choice was available (I didn't count how many pizzas were on offer but there were 2 full menu pages plus the daily specials) and the toppings were generous. I took some cheese raviolis with mushroom sauce, tomatoes and rocket and I loved it. There is a kids menu, my daughters both took the pizzas with tomato sauce, ham and cheese but there was also pasta available. There was also a good choice for the desserts. We went for the ice cream as we were all already full from the generous servings. I took the apricot sorbet which was very nice, refreshing in the hot weather. My partner took the caramel liegeois with the salted caramel ice cream and caramel sauce and it was delicious (I had to help him of course!). Everybody was very happy, the servers were busy as the restaurant and pavement seatings were all full and we were a table of 12 so of course we had to wait a bit for the food but we expected that given our number. We all had a nice time and the servers were nice. Advance booking highly recommend!
The Haribo Candy Museum showcases the brand's candy production history, featuring vintage machinery. It is a popular destination for families with children, particularly in April when it is less crowded. The museum offers an engaging and vibrant experience for both children and adults alike with an extensive collection of sweets and candies. Comparable to the Hershey museum in Pennsylvania, this candy store provides a delightful experience for visitors interested in learning about the brand's history while indulging their sweet tooth.
Nice place to go with chindren. In april not too much crowded. 2 children age 9 were quite happy.

It’s a Haribo museum next to the candy factory. I think it has some sting benefits like the candy store where you can buy a lot of stuff much cheaper than in grocery stores. Secondly, it’s a very engaging museum for kids. But unfortunately it’s not as entertaining as it could be. Very colourful and you can even get some fresh made candies. Also there is some degustation.

Great place to learn about Haribo story and sweet manufacture. A bit expensive (12 euros pp for adults) considering there are 4 rooms to visit and it takes approx 1h to see everything. Bonus is you can get 2 mini sweet sachets free.

Don't go here, it's utterly pointless and you pay about 10 Euro each. You get 3 very small bags of candy and the displays are really really bad, just awful. Mostly big plastic dolls/statues that it is just ugly, even the kids thought it was sad. The aircondition is good so I guess it got that going for it but then it's better to go to the Carriefour down the road.
Olle Dencker — Google review
We decided to skip the museum and go straight for the candy store. It was really crowded which made the shopping experience less than enjoyable. I guess it was to be expected in August!
They sell a wide variety of Haribo candy, buy the store was so crowded, it was hard to really see what was available. Having said that, there is ample free parking and I will definitely go again the next time I'm in France!
Wynand Fan — Google review
Would have been more interesting if they explained more about how the sweets are made! Also if it was more interactive for children. All in all it was very boring, my 3 kids just wanted to get out! The slot machine only offered the most boring of Haribo sweets. A let down!
NadineA Wong — Google review
Promised to be a walk through the factory where they make haribo is probably a bit far fetched. Price wise it’s not massively expensive however the whole building just consists of various information boards and some moulded plastic sweets. There a large room with projectors which shows some weird VR animated trip. Best bit is getting some free sweets on your way around. The shop consists of any haribo you can think of but that’s about it. Not that great and probably not worth the entrance fee
Mark Charlton — Google review
We only stopped here as it was on the way to Pont du Gard. There appeared to be a playground called Candyland next to the actual Haribo shop and museum. We didn't go into the museum as you don't actually get to see the production which is what we were most interested in. for 36€ a family of 4 to enter the museum. We chose to spend the 36€ on sweets for the children instead. the shop is well presented with so much to choose from. there are toilets located on-site.
Charlene Elliott — Google review
My wife loved it and my daughter too. I found it a little bit small like all the comments state. One of the machines in the room 4 (the last one) didn’t work and I didn’t like the 2 other sweets. Other than that yes the shop at the end really is huge and the choice and price are really great especially on bulk. I think I’ve got sweets for the rest of the year.
Don’t forget to get the loyalty card.
We’ll probably be back!

Pont des Charrettes, Chem. du Moulin de Bargeton, 30700 Uzès, France
The Pont Saint-Benezet bridge, which spans the Rhone, is a well-known medieval structure. Constructed in 1185, it was once connecting Avignon with Villeneuve-les-Avignon. However, over time it was repeatedly damaged by floods and ultimately only four of its original arches remain.
A remarkable story and piece of history.
I liked the audio guide and we purchased our ticket for the bridge as part of a 3 part package with the Pope's Palace and gardens for just £17/person.
Make sure you take the time to go downstairs at the end of the tour to view the film room. There is some very interesting information on the restoration of the bridge and the most incredible reconstructed image on the wall of what all 22 arches would have looked like.
Highly recommend

It's simply a must see town in beautiful Provence.
The first impression is building up on approaches, when you drive along the impressive city walls. Parking is easy, with plenty of underground car parks, whichever direction you choose you see something interesting and beautiful. You really feel like being in an old town, surrounded by history. One of the most charming towns in France. Don't miss it of you are near by. It's only around one hour drive from Marseille.

It reminds me of the song my mother was singing when I was young ... The view of the river is quite nice. There is an elevator so we can go with a stroller. There is also an audio guide which is nice when you have the time to listen to it and no kids to watch out. It can be dangerous with very young kids, the barriers are not safe and they can easily fall.

It was a very nice day, and the palais de papes was absolutely stunning. I then walked towards the Pont Saint-Benezet, which was an amazing walk because of the many shops and old streets. I had to walk through the old wall, which was gorgeous, and then I laid eyes on the bridge, which was very historical. All in all a great trip.

Historic and world famous monument. You could just admire the bridge from afar, but I think it’s definitely worth paying to go and explore properly.
You’re given a little handheld device which gives you snippets of information along various points of the bridge. Thankfully the recordings only last for less than 2 minutes - which is plenty of time to give you some interesting facts without boring you to tears!
It’s also worth visiting at sunset and when it gets dark - it’s a really beautiful monument at all times of the day and night.
Caroline Findlay — Google review
You're charged a few Euros to get onto the bridge, and there's a small exhibition, but you'll see more of the bridge from either the riverbank or up on the nearby hillside. It's a bit of a 'must do' while in Avignon but you'll not really miss much if you don't have time.

It is a must see in Avignon - if only because of the famous song. Read the history behind the bridge and how bridges were built in the Middle Ages and are still today. Quite interesting and not too extensive info right before you get on the bridge. The latter is… just a beautiful bridge that abruptly ends in the middle of the Rhône river. But that is a mystery you can learn about as well if you bother to read the above mentioned info.

I've dreamt of visiting the bridge since I was 14. Today, at 56, the dream came true. "Sur le Pont d'Avignon, on y danse..." blared in my head as I walked along that lovely span that remains. It was everything I hoped for and more. But then again, Avignon is spectacular!

A very nice park with Flowers, trees, amazing views in every direction. The best view of Pont d'Avignon in the city. Sunset is a great time to visit the park It is a bit of a climb - but it is worthwhile.

A great spot to watch the sun rise over Avignon. Although note the gardens open at 7.30am so it may not be a viable option year-round.
The Palais des Papes is a historical landmark in Avignon, France. It was originally constructed as the home of Pope Clement V and later served as the residence of other popes. The palace is now open to the public and features some beautiful artwork and cultural events.
Amazing castle with very interesting history guide. Chinese is available in the guide. There are incredible wall paintings in the castle where you can’t take photos in those rooms. It’s definitely worth the ticket price and the visit. The 3D castle magnet is very pretty and I couldn’t find the same magnet design elsewhere apart from in the castle souvenir shop. Unfortunately it seems impossible to visit the souvenir shop again once you are out of the gate.

Beautifully curated and well kept palace. There is so much history to be discovered, and so many new things to explore. It is very well kept, with cleaning every few weeks, for the outside. The town surrounding is very touristy, with many shops and restaurants to see. I would recommend going into the palace after lunch, so that you'll go in not starving.

The visitor experience here is really well done. We didn’t buy tickets ahead of time but there wasn’t much of a wait (<5 min) when we went on a Monday around 4pm. The histopad/tablet was a great interactive feature which made the overall visit more interesting. Loved the temporary Eva Jospin exhibits as well (which will be there until January 2024).

An amazing place with a history that makes you think about the "infallibility and unity" of the Catholic Church. Nevertheless, the palace itself, its vastness and splendor inspire respect and admiration. How were people in those times able to build something so huge and so solid at the same time!? Wonderful cloisters, walls and courtyards. Huge spaces of halls inside the palace. Incredible.

We enjoyed visiting this palace very much. Once we arrived and paid our tickets, we were offered tables and headphones. While we took the self guided tour we could see with the help of the tablets the way in which each room looked like back in the day. We appreciate the integration of technology in the experience. The tickets we got included a visit on the Avignon bridge too.
Georgiana Ioana — Google review
We purchased a package that included the Palisade des Papes, the garden, and the bridge where we visited the first two on one day and the bridge the next.
They provided a very interesting tablet that allows you to view many of the rooms you visit as they likely looked back in time. Many of the rooms were quite sparse and there are a number of stairs so those with issues with them might have issues.
The garden section was small and not very interesting due to the lack of well kept plants and flowers.
During our visit there was a photographic exhibition on the Amazon which was interesting but was very warm with all the lights even though it was October due to the very little cooling which consisted of a couple of fans.

After narrow streets of Avignon, suddenly we arrived in a very grand piazza, which is contrary to the small alleys in the city. Very nice place to spend your time sitting and enjoy the sunset. We didnt get into the palace since we were late. Hopefully next time
Ellen Brigitta — Google review
It's worth a walk through because of its importance and size, both significant but the crowds (even on the last day of October) can make looking at some of the smaller rooms impossible. So you wait until the crowd has left or you skip the room. In summer it would be horrific I'm sure, and if I imagine the crowds I would say not worth it. The tour route is not particularly clear and the history ipad thing is a bit clunky. The best thing I can say about it is that it saves trees for brochures.
Craig Priddle — Google review
Pretty stunning building with amazing views from the tower. The guide gadgets were good for adding colour to the rooms. The exhibition of cardboard sculptures was very interesting. I think for the time of year advance tickets we’re not necessary.
Paul Grace — Google review
This isn't a museum it's a massively overpriced augmented reality tour through mostly empty rooms. The walls look the same from the outside so you might as well stay there.
There is a nice view from the terrace but its not good enough to make up for the rest.

Very interesting and historical place.
Some rooms o areas are currently closed because of the COVID, but it's very nice anyway.
Be careful for the Mistrial in some parts!
Miki Dima — Google review
Absolutely worth seeing. However, it is very popular and it felt a little bit like cattle being herded through. I'd also recommend buying tickets in advance. Nonetheless, it's a very interesting and beautiful place.

Excellent histopad which takes you through the various rooms. You scan the scan in each room and on your pad the room as it was is brought to life, with marked areas to learn more about the room, the people who used it and about some of the items used, as well as seeing how it was decorated. Well worth a visit. Many many steps both up and down.

Interesting to learn about the story of this place and how it was important geographically. Easy to visit, they have computer simulation of how the rooms looked. A few of them have the original painting and tiles. Don't forget to visit the gatdens as well.

I didn't know I would enjoy this visit so much. The computer tablets they lend you are a bit of a distraction at the beginning, but turn out to be a wealth of information and a lot of fun once you figure them out. The palace is amazing and historically very significant. This is the one thing everyone should do when visiting Avignon. I can't believe it took me this long to get there.
Guillaume Slama — Google review
The Palace itself was remarkable. It's hard to fathom that it was built so long along and in such incredible condition.
However, the Samsung tablet that they give you is a little immature. You scan a QR code and you read a little information (there is no sound) and then you are meant to scan the room and watch the screen to see a rendered version of how it used to look, which would be great for kids, but I prefer facts and historical data.
There were many many signs around the castle explaining things, but it was all in French. It's a shame the tablet couldn't be used to scan those information boards and translate into other languages like on Google Translate.
The large grandstand as you enter the exhibition also detracted from the experience, but I am still glad we attended.
There were some amazing artifacts and the Pope's bedroom with it's painted walls and elaborate floor was our favourite part.

Wonderful application on the Museum’s tablets showing how the rooms and halls (now empty) were decorated, what were the foods, etc. Impressing! Nice small garden. Lots of staires up and down. Combined ticket for palais, garden and Pont.

An absolutely historical hotspot. It’s one of the biggest, still existing middle age-gothic buildings/ structures. Really impressive - also nicely guided. Your visit will be combined (if you want) with a digital tablet guiding “game”. The digital guide motivates you to explore every room, as you can collect treasures.
André Bonin — Google review
Great palace from ancient times. You get a tablet for free to use during the visit. With that you can get a lot of background information about the palace and each room. With the tablet you can also look around to see on the screen how those rooms used to look like during the pope was living there.

We had a great experience visiting this palace. Lots of historical events happened here that everyone who comes to Avignon have to know. I've learned lots of new things about the way of living of the popes, his second hand, the treasury, the three-storey kitchen, etc. The palace is grandiose.

This is a beautiful place with lots of history. Be sure to walk on the very old famous bridge where you can see remnants from long ago. Lots of history and beauty here. Highly recommend a visit to Avignon. You will not be disappointed. 🩷

A visit to the Palais de Papes (Papal Palace) in Avignon takes visitors back to the 14th century when the city served as the seat of the Papacy. The palace is a magnificent Gothic structure, and was a symbol of power and influence for the Catholic Church during that time.
I enjoyed stunning architecture, frescoes, and halls that once hosted ceremonies and events.
There are various rooms and chambers to explore in the palace. The exhibits, artifacts, and multimedia presentations provide information about the significance of the Papal Palace in the medieval period.
From the top of the palace, there are panoramic views of the city of Avignon and the surrounding countryside.
Overall, a visit to the Papal Palace in Avignon is a worthwhile investment of time for a lengthy visit.
Pl. de l'Horloge, a central square in the city, accommodates both the town hall and opera. The square is home to numerous open-air eating and drinking establishments, providing visitors with ample opportunities to indulge in traditional dining experiences. Its charming ambiance attracts locals and tourists alike who appreciate the area's rich history and cultural significance as a gathering place for community events. Pl.

I’ve been visiting Avignon for several years. There are many historic sites that are worth seeing. But it’s also interesting to wander off the beaten path, on back streets and alley ways, and enjoy normal life scenes.

Adorable shop associated with ticket sales for double decker bus and tourist train in town. The shop lady was aloof and stated she spoke no English. Odd for a business titled “Visite Avignon.” Was the most unwelcoming experience during our week here in town. Left immediately after this encounter.

Very interesting enjoyable experience with this small train. It goes around all famous places in the old town of Avignon. You will be excited about the professionalism of the train’ driver who manages to drive 3 carriages in the very tiny streets, which are too smalls even for people. Trains leave every 30 minutes from the main square next to the Pape Palace from 9am (first train) till 20:00 (the last train during summer period). The ride takes about 45 minutes.

Booked the 10am bus tour and arrived at 9h45. They never opened. Came back at noon, still not open. Only when I requested a refund did someone get back to me to say the bus had an accident. Very poor customer service. It seems this is not the first time they've let people down without notice either, looking at other online reviews.

One star is even too much for this. Not interesting, just a few (historically) informations (could be much more) and the poor informations aren’t well connected.
Wouldn’t recommend, got the informations I desired now from Wikipedia.
I have used Kayak Vert Pont du Gard several times over the years. A team of people always happy to help and guide you to ensure that you have a great experience. This particular route is special as you get to have the best view of Pont du Gard as you pass under it on the river. A great day out with the family
Andrew Dominy — Google review
One of the worst travel experiences of my entire life. We booked and paid for 5 tickets for kayaking over a month in advance. We were beyond excited - multiple people told us it was an absolute “must do” while in Provence. We drove almost two hours from Menerbes, the entire way talking of nothing but how enjoyable our experience on the river and seeing the Pont du Gard was going to be. When we arrived, no one was there. After wondering around we gave them a call. At first they gave us a bullshit excuse about the weather being too bad for kayaking. For context, it was 70 degrees and sunny - truly the definition of “kayaking weather.” Eventually they admitted that they had simply forgotten about our reservation, despite having received a confirmation email that very morning. The disappointment was palpable, and they did not seem to care in the least. And just like that, our entire stay in Provence was ruined. Thank you, Kayak Vert Pont du Gard, for teaching us the definition of awful service. Stay away from this company at all costs. You will regret booking their services.

So much fun! The workers were very patient, kind. I highly recommend this! The view is incredible, the aqueduct is just beautiful up close as you go underneath it. Such a unique experience!

You can go autonomously and take as much time or pause as you want. The way itself is totally amazing and the team is super nice and flexible. The Pont du Gare is an highlight but already the beautiful landscape you discover is worth it. Fully recommend!

Coming back to Kayak Vert once a year. I always appreciate the welcoming and kind service. Would recommend other customers coming in April to try out the 30Km partition. Truely impressive and if you ask me one of the experiences of a lifetime. On to next year!

What a place - simply breathtaking and a real family adventure.
It was here; jumping from the rocks into the deep portions of the stream that both myself and my ten year old boy lost our fear of heights.
We hired our kayaks though Kayak Vert and they were lovely (disputes us being English).
We hired a three person one for myself, my wife and our ten-year-old son.
In places the stream is so shallow that we along with other people grounded and I would say that this is the only flaw with the day as you get out of the boat and have to drag it for a little bit: Saying that though this adds to the fun and it really is no bother.
The day was exceptional and the water fresh, clean and wonderful to swim in.
We would highly recommend this to any family visiting as it will not disappoint.

Good material, very friendly and helpful staff, uncomplicated transport from and to Camping La Sousta. The 8km Tour is well feasible for children from 6yr old (even for smaller children, the river does not seem dangerous, but the minimum age required by the provider is 6yr).

Great kayak rental. We went during off season and the area could benefit from more signage at the launch point.
Equipment was good, although paddles did not have splash guards and were not very easy to use.
Signage at the pick up spot could also be more visible.

The Pont du Gard is a remarkable aqueduct bridge that was constructed by the Romans in the 1st century AD. It spans over three well-preserved arched tiers and stands as one of the most well-preserved ancient infrastructures found in Europe. The structure boasts an impressive level of symmetry, with rhythmic repetition of arches that exude strength and nobility. Its status as a World Heritage Site attests to its historical significance and architectural beauty.
What a spectacular historical site. Perfect place to spend the day outdoors with kids and dogs. Lots of lovely walking trails and beautiful scenery.
There’s a climb up the hill next to the bridge which leads to a panoramic view point, which is definitely worth the climb.

Amazing place to visit. The bridge itself is astonishing. There is a big car park nearby, you pay 9€ for the whole day and you get to access the area for free. Don't miss the view points that allow you to see the bridge from above. We visited in July and the temperature was torrid, but it was absolutely worth it.

Fantastic place to visit. This is great spot for a picnic, wild swimming and canoeing. All with this stunning Roman bridge as a backdrop. In summer there is a free drone and light show that is definitely worth watching.

A stunning place to bring the family. A beautiful site representing mind blowing Roman engineering with the added fun of swimming, kayaking and cliff jumping. Very nice restaurant in the area too. 9 euros to park for the day and about a 5-10 min stroll to the pont.

The Pont du Gard is an architectural masterpiece that truly captivates with its fascinating design. Its majestic arches, meticulously constructed by the ancient Romans, stand as a testament to their engineering prowess. The bridge's blend of form and function is simply awe-inspiring.
Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, the Pont du Gard offers stunning scenery that enhances the overall experience. The gentle flow of the river beneath the bridge adds to the tranquil atmosphere, making it a perfect place to relax and soak in the surroundings.
One of the notable aspects of this site is its commitment to cleanliness and environmental preservation. The Pont du Gard is remarkably well-maintained, ensuring that visitors can appreciate its historical and natural charm without distraction.
The crystal-clear waters of the river that runs beneath the bridge are a sight to behold, and the opportunity to swim or simply dip your toes in this pristine river is a refreshing bonus.
I left the Pont du Gard with a deep sense of wonder and a promise to myself that I would revisit this extraordinary place someday. It's a destination that leaves a lasting impression and beckons you to return, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of history, natural beauty, and tranquility.

Another lovely Roman project still in good shape! We arrived quite late but still have fantastic time here. We have to deep in the tempting water as well . Warm and clean with rocky beaches and rocky bed (water shoes helped children). Sadly we leaving soon and can't come back for more this year! I don't think the all day parking charge is expensive at all €9!
You can't please everyone! Coffee /ice-cream and snacks on site also clean toilets! Highly recommended!

Just amazing. Unbelievable architecture for it's time. Really impressive seeing it up close. €9 for parking but then free to visit the site. Worth seeing from above viewpoints, down on the riverbed, and take the walk across to the other side. Take your swimmers for a cool off dip after!

Unfortunately we visited on a rainy day, but the bridge still looks beautiful. If you’re there on a sunny day, take your time and walk the route provided around the bridge. For best pictures, walk a bit farther to get an overview of the bridge.
You can find more information about the bridge at the museum which only costs €6.50.
It can be a bit crowded (we were there on a weekday and there were plenty of people) and you will need to pay €9 for parking.

Very beautiful even after all these years. You can either enjoy the view or go swimming. We paid 9€ for parking, there's a "touist area" with shops and so on, I guess that's necessary, but it didn't really deduct anything from the overall experience.

You think an aqueduct is nothing special? Think again! This is the tallest Roman bridge-aqueduct in the world, standing at 48m high, which dates back over 2000 years.
The whole area is well-maintained and almost like a huge park. It is perfect for a Picknick, a meal on the terrace of the restaurant with a view of the aqueduct a mountain bike tour, a hike or just to chill near the river and have a swim in summer.

It's the most visited site in France and it's a UNESCO World Heritage site, that says something about it.
The parking is charged at 9€ per vehicle and there are no other charges for visiting the site but the museum visit is at additional cost.
The place is quite beautiful and has small hiking paths all around it, you can get some pretty good views of the aqueduct if you venture a little into the woods.

This is one of the coolest things to see. How Roman made things still are around still stuns me and many, not something often seen in the United States. Easy to walk and if you go further down, can get great photos as well as dip you toes in the water on a hot day.

A huge monument that blends into the landscape ... pure poetry. Since Roman times this aqueduct has remained standing and demonstrates its solidity and quality, but the most beautiful thing is how man managed to enhance it and merge it with his interests. The Rhône River is used as a seaside resort where everyone gathers to have fun and enjoy a day of relaxation. I really liked it and it is definitely worth its fame, so why not pay us a visit? 🤩

What an experience! The bridge is such a jaw-dropping piece of architecture, and there is so much to see and do here. You can go swimming and hiking, you can chill and eat with a view, you can buy souvenirs, and you can visit the museum and exhibitions.
Entrance is free of charge (the museum and exhibition cost extra), and parking is 9€ for 24 hours (you could even stay overnight with a caravan or mobile home, if you don’t need any amenities or electricity).
In my opinion a perfect and affordable place for a day out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

The Pont du Gard is truly a marvel to behold, with its gigantic aqueduct showcasing incredible Roman architecture. Seeing it in person is even more awe-inspiring. The sheer scale of the structure is amazing! In addition to its architectural significance, there's also a swimming area nearby, adding to the appeal. However, it's important to note that the area can get scorching hot, so be prepared for the heat when visiting. Overall, experiencing the Pont du Gard is an unforgettable journey back in time and a testament to the ingenuity of ancient engineering.

This bridge is legendary, the place is very special. At any time of the day you can feel a fascination and all tourists behave with equal respect and consideration. This is particularly noticeable in the garbage that ends up in the trash can here and not in nature.
Most people approach from the left side because that's where the parking lot is. The bridge takes you to the right side of the river and there is also a nice swimming opportunity there.
What makes the place so fascinating? On the one hand, the history, an enormous construction achievement. On the other hand, the play of colors at all times of the day. All the people start building a small dam out of the stones. Whether 5 years old or over 70 years old.
15 years ago you could still cross the bridge at the very top of the watercourse. This is now blocked. Nevertheless, the climb is worth it because the view of the bridge is unique. Likewise the tunnel above, which also had to be built for the aqueduct.

What a cool place to visit. I only wish we had more time. My husband and I would have liked to have hiked the entire place. We did go up to the bridge and did the steps to the top. I would have liked to have gone on the other side!
