How long is the drive from Vis to Makarska?
The direct drive from Vis to Makarska is 88.9 mi (143 km), and should have a drive time of 4 hrs 11 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Vis to Makarska, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with Split, Hvar, and Trogir, as well as top places to visit like D33 and Historic City of Trogir, or the ever-popular Dragon's Eye Rogoznica Ltd..
The top cities between Vis and Makarska are Split, Hvar, and Trogir. Split is the most popular city on the route. It's 3 hours from Vis and 1 hour from Makarska.
Hvar is a verdant and peaceful island renowned for its captivating coastlines, charming bays, lush vineyards, and dense woodlands. The locale features an array of picturesque beaches that offer stunning views of the sparkling waters. Additionally, Hvar boasts scenic coves that are ideal for relaxing and soaking in the serene ambiance. Visitors can also explore the thriving vineyards and immaculate forests that dot the landscape, showcasing the natural beauty of this magnificent landmass.
Hvar island is one of the most popular islands in the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. 🇭🇷 And that is for a reason!
I loved strolling around Hvar town and feel the history of the place. You’ll find 13th century city walls, a hilltop fortress, gothic palaces, lovely medieval streets and so many restaurants and bars. ☀️
Stari Grad, located at the other side of the island, is less visited than Hvar town, wich makes it even more charming. There are cute narrow streets, churches, viewpoints and incredible wine tastings. 🧡 Thank you Sail Croatia for showing me around these beautiful islands!
Noureddine HASSANI — Google review
Lovely place to visit. Did this as part of a Day tour of Five Islands from Split. We managed to spend 2.5 hours here to explore and enjoy lunch. Head up main Street and climb the 156 steps for excellent views over the rooftops leading out over the harbour filled with boats and yachts.
Steven Brennan — Google review
As possibly the sunniest and most popular of the coastal islands in Croatia, Hvar makes either an ideal day trip from Split or a 2-3 night mini-break if you wish to explore more of the island and enjoy the vibrant nightlife.
Whether exploring the harbour and old town, climbing to the Spanish Fortress for spectacular views, visiting neighbouring islands by sea kayak, venturing inland to discover vineyards and lavender fields or driving to some of the most secluded coves - there is something for everyone here. And don't forget the great restaurants and beach clubs...
During July and August there are regular ferries from Split run by Jadrolinija, Krilo and TP Line. The journey takes about 1 hour. Ferries are less frequent in May and September and outside of these months a day trip is much harder to organise as sailing are only a couple of times a day and weather dependent.

Beautiful place to visit. We were there in May when it wasn't too busy.
Walking around the streets and alleyways just off the port area is very rewarding.
The fort overlooking the town is well worth the taxi ride up (or walk of you're feeling fit!)

I loved it !!! It's gorgeous, clean, pleasant, cute !! Great day there
Bianca Ogel — Google review
Highly reccomend for 3 nights / 4 days. I highly recommend you do NOT waste your money going to Carpe Diem beach club. It's the biggest rip off on the island
Try all the difference beaches and water spots. Rent a car or buggy for a few hours ( only go early morning or evening it's too do )
Rent a speedboat or go for a boat cruise
David Jervis — Google review
What a mesmerizing beauty this island has! Clean, pristine waters, blue colored sky up and blue colored water I mean seriously felt like it's all edited but no. You need to visit this to experience it. One of the best Island in Europe.
Swati Pereira — Google review
I love Hvar, the sea, beaches, food, weather and even people are pretty good! To get real authentic meals you kind of have to look past the touristy area. Bol is also beautiful, the water in Hvar and Bol (and pretty much everywhere is gorgeous). Best to rent car and drive up and down the coast. Try out "Sail Week" trips! June-September. Very cool! see lots of different islands! Meets some cool people.
Mark Williams — Google review
we did a hike up to the fortress and walked back down. We also walked around the town in the direction of the beach where we visited a bar l which was really nice. I reccomend taking loads of water as the hike has loads of steps
Priya Sheth — Google review
Really a nice and beautiful place to go!
Check the ferry options and schedules before deciding: they’re three companies available- prices differs depending on the time.transfer takes around 1 hour.
The city has a mixed of historical places, nice restaurants/bar and beach clubs.
Also some awesome landscapes if you move a little far from downtown and walk to peaceful beaches nearby.
Ca Bal — Google review
Beautiful island with so many interesting places to see. One can book a stay in the resorts here and enjoy the night life.
The view from the fort is breathtaking.
There is an emergency medical facility also available on this island. People here are too generous.
There are vast fields of lavender, ancient olive trees and vineyards, in immaculate harmony between man and nature.
There are wine and olives, so a guest wishing to get closer to nature will stop at a small inn (Hvar "konoba") rather than a top quality restaurant.
He will taste real home-made wine instead of some famous sparkling wine, he will sing the old island songs and forget the monotony of the everyday routine.
Every guest is really a Guest here.
Whatever you are looking for on your vacation, you may find it here; night life and cultural attractions of cosmopolitan Hvar town, boat excursions to Pakleni Islands, sandy beaches near Jelsa, the ancient town Stari Grad in which past centuries mingle with modern tourist facilities,
heavenly beaches under pine trees in Zavala, exotic atmosphere of south cliffs in Ivan Dolac, Sveta Nedjelja or MIlna, the "little Venice" ambient in Vrboska, drive trough and sense lavander fields near Zastrazisce, Gdinj and Bogomolje, peaceful secluded bays near Sucuraj ... this is just a fraction of it ... you need to explore it.
Due to its mild climate, the scent of lavender and other aromatic herbs which fills the air, the island of Hvar has been known as a health resort since 1868.
Besides health benefits and natural beauties, the city of Hvar is famous for its cultural heritage. The biggest main square in Dalmatia (an area of 4500m2), with many renaissance and baroque palaces, dominates the city which is surrounded by fortification walls dating from the 7th century.
Therefore, it is no wonder "The Traveller" has given the island of Hvar not only the flattering but also well deserved title of being one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world.

Best stops along Vis to Makarska drive
The top stops along the way from Vis to Makarska (with short detours) are Diocletian's Palace, Zlatni Rat Beach Hotel, and Historic City of Trogir. Other popular stops include Path to Spanish Fortress, Old Town Hall, and Pakleni Otoci.
Pakleni Otoci is an idyllic island located in Croatia. It is home to crystal-clear water and lush green forests, making it a perfect place to relax and spend time with friends. The island's many attractions include beautiful blue water caves, a wide variety of wildlife, and stunning beaches. There are also plenty of activities available on the island such as swimming, hiking, and kayaking.
We had a great onward speed boat ride (Blue Shark company). The blue water caves were wonderful. The return boat ride was too bumpy and the skipper would not reduce speed hoping it would make the ride enjoyable

10 years ago it was one of the nicest area of the part of the Adriatic. Today it is an overcrowded over priced area. Some bays looks like the Tokyo metro in rush hour. Prices are in the sky. Of course the Hvar is very near which is an exiting a beautiful town but overtourism is serious.

Mlini beach is a secluded and peaceful cove that offers a great snorkeling experience with its crystal clear waters. This pebble beach is surrounded by stunning natural landscapes and boasts an open-air restaurant where visitors can enjoy delicious meals while taking in the breathtaking views. To access Mlini beach, one needs to take a sea taxi as there are no boat tours available due to choppy seas.
We had such a great time here. It's a small but beautiful beach. Can get overcrowded here, especially on the beach when the tour boats rock up. I'd recommend getting in before 10am to enjoy the beach mostly to yourself and avoid the tour boats. We hired a boat for the day and it was very easy to navigate to the beach. If you got two or more people it makes it more economical to hire a boat for the day and do it yourself. Recommend the beach and hiring your own boat!
S T — Google review
Beautiful beach, you can take a “boat taxi” for 10 euros for the 2 ways from Hvar. We went on a day where it wasn't too crowded, but I can sense that it wouldn't be a pleasant experience if the beach is too crowded. To get the full experience and enjoy, you need to pay for a bed (which costs 60 eur for the day). The restaurant is serves excellent dishes, the grilled fish was delicious but yes it is somehow expensive, but we expected it to be expensive. Nothing forbids you to take on sandwiches and beverages if you’re going low budget mode. I recommend you to at least visit this beach once when in Hvar.
Loubna Ibrahim — Google review
Amazing place with lots of small puddles to explore. We went there during off season and were the only people around during 2 days. The beach is rocky but soft enough to lie down. The bar was deserted but there was a swing you could relax on. The rocks look amazing, with small minerals glistering from within!

We hired a boat from hvar to get here.. well worth it!!!
Frankie Graham — Google review
Beautiful beach easily reachable from the port of Hvar. We took a boat taxi for 10€ (they start in the morning from 9-12 and return in the evening from 16-18) and got there in around 15 minutes.
Its possible to rent sunbeds for 15€ each. There is also a restaurant next to the beach where you can eat or drink something.
Noel Giger — Google review
Best beach near Hvar so far, you need to take taxi boat to get there (return ticket costs only 50kn). I recommend you to get there early, when the boats start to drive (around 10am) so you can get a spot under the shadows.
Pia — Google review
We got the sea taxi across as couldn't go on a boat tour owing to choppy seas as there was a storm
Think it was 60kuna
As with this region take sea shoes or sandals (I wore ky vans) as the beaches are stoney and the sea has lots of rocks.
We had a sun bed each for the day which was 100kuna
It is really beautiful and the sea is incredible
We didn't eat on the island but the places looked nice, we took a picnic with us. A pastry and some crisps etc
Definitely worth visiting

Must visit, great place to spend a day. Take a taxi boat or rent a boat from Hvar town.

I'll never travel to Makarska without this trip planner again
The Path to Spanish Fortress is a lovely path that leads up to the Spanish fortress. The location is perfect and easy to find, and it's also easy to walk up the steep hill. The view from the top is worth it, and it's also a great place for a picnic.
If you plan to visita spanish fortress, please do it by walking the path. Views are incredible

Very nice concrete path up to the Spanish fortress with great views of Hvar port. Easy for kids to do - although not recommended for a post-swimming walk if yours are easily tired. 🙃 It’s in direct sun on late afternoon.

Park Šuma Marjan is a forested hillside park situated within walking distance from the center of Split. It offers stunning views of the entire channel and city skyline, along with jogging trails, lookout points, and a botanical garden. The park is car-free which makes it very pleasant to explore on foot. Visitors can enjoy beautiful scenery, including the nearby beach.
Absolutely stunningly beautiful views abound. It is just such a wonderful place to spend some time walking around and resting taking in the various views around the park. There are so many vistas to experience. If we return to Split, this will be our number one thing to see again.
Greg T — Google review
The park/forest is really beautiful. And being by the shore, it provides amazing scenery. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars, is because I didn't see any security. So it could be my skepticism, or just me not being use to having such a safe place. So it is a nice walking, tourism spot and I would go back for sure.
Joshua Lacerda — Google review
Beautiful that can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be. There are flat paved trails or more mountainous trails that will make you work. There is a zoo on the top with a porta potty outside. The park has a lot of cool plant species like native orchids and wild sage. You can identify them with an app like Seek.
Virginia Mott — Google review
Absolutely mandatory to visit and stroll around the park if staying in Split.
Gorgeous views and a very relaxing atmosphere. If you start from Marjan Hill Stairs and make your way around the park you'll end up near some amazing beaches to relax on after the hike!
Casper Pulit — Google review
a huge park where you can see churches, many viewing platforms and other sights that I have not visited;) the terrain is quite difficult in places, you should have suitable shoes. We parked our car near the beach, in August it can be a tricky part.
The views of the sea and Split are beautiful, so I advise you to visit.
Stanislav Andreev — Google review
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Zoo at the top. Feeding animals allowed, food for the animals provided.
Nikola Redovnikovic — Google review
Very nice park within walking distance from the centre of Split. The park is largely car free and that makes the park very pleasant. You have beautiful views and you can also go to the beach.
Eduard Verbaarschot — Google review
First and foremost this is a huge park, easily larger than the whole of old town, with plenty of room to spare. There are several very large footpaths that lead mostly around the Marjan Hill after which the park is named. Several beaches can be accessed from the park, best ones being located on the southern side. There are also some ancient churches along the footpaths as well as great vistas, a museum and a small zoo. Recommended.
Robert Chomicz — Google review
A must see place. The view from the top was amazing.
Recommend bringing A LOT of water with you, specially if you plan on visiting during the peak heat hours of the day.

Really enjoyed the walk here - serene, wooded with trails and steps. There is a small zoo of domesticated animals and a botanical garden. A healthy workout! And beautiful views from the top.

What a stunning place to visit in Split. The park is beautiful to hike across from the old town of Split to the top. We hiked down to the beach and boy it was stunning! There’s a lot of greenery and the view of the town from the top is absolutely amazing. If you have more than 2 days in Split, please consider putting this spot to your bucket list.
Paulomi Roy — Google review
A verdant and welcome excursion from old town. The 8km loop trail is scenic and peaceful but the real beauty lies inside. The interior trails offer shade and viewing points which make them worth the effort.
Chris Marks — Google review
It is quite a climb especially in the heat. We went as far as the first summit which included 340 steps at that point!!. The wildlife and plants are amazing and of course the views. Only disappointment was the restaurant cafe on the way back where tables were reserved or taken so the my thirst could not be quenched, shame after all the walking and heat.
Pauline TRANTER — Google review
This park is stunning, from the climb at the beginning to view from the very top its is beautiful. It can be quite a tough climb at times (really depending on your level of fitness) but it is genuinely worth it.
I would have loved to have walked the entire length but we had a lot to pack into the few days we had.
Maybe next time...

Obala Hrvatskog narodnog preporoda 25, 21000, Split, Croatia
The Riva waterfront is a popular destination for tourists in Split. It features an expansive boardwalk, numerous eateries, and scenic views of the city. The waterfront promenade is the perfect place to get acquainted with Split's unique character, and it makes a stunning backdrop for a leisurely stroll or some people watching from one of the many relaxing outdoor cafes.
Very nice little area in Split and close to a variety of options for entertainment. Right in the seaside, with an awesome view to be at the restaurant, or just chilling. Diocletian's Palace is right beside and is really cool with ally ways that have stores, open market, tourism, history and much more. Riva is just the great scenario of an European Summer time. Definitely a must go and when I can I want to go back.
Joshua Lacerda — Google review
Beautiful promenade lined with palm trees, street vendors and of course restaurants. The locals love spending time here drinking coffee and chatting for hours.
Ghazal — Google review
Yes it's touristy but it's still a fantastic spot for enjoying the view and people watching. The restaurants lining the promenade are overpriced and the quality pretty average - there are better places to eat. But enjoying a morning coffee or a glass of wine/beer and watching the sunset is a treat. There are also plenty of benches to sit on in front of the eateries or the sea wall itself. Walking to either the marina or pier on either side offers the best place for photos.
Steven — Google review
An ideal spot to just sit and have breakfast or just watch everything pass by whilst sitting on a bench under a palm tree. It's easy to spend all day here and not get bored
Andrew Johnston — Google review
A nice pedestrian promenade lined with palm trees, restaurants, bars and shops. This is the place to see and to be seen in Split. It's pretty, crowded and overpriced. Nice to stroll around but only eat here if you're prepared to spend a bit extra coin. The time I did eat here, the food was actually pretty good.
Robert Chomicz — Google review
Beautiful promenade but can get quite windy at times depending on the weather. locals DON'T recommend dining in the restaurants along the promenade though given their excessive price - coffee is fine. Great vibe and safe area. Only thing is there seems to be a lack of public toilet around the area

The busiest Street of Split. Its really nice to walk between the beautifully laid palm trees. A lot of entertainment options all around here. Really happening at night. It is filled with tourists at night.
Ishanka Hasaranga — Google review
This is a beautiful well organised waterfront. The palm trees have been carefully placed to create a green calming oasis in the middle of such a tourist/crowd hotspot. There are many benches and water fountains dotted around for you to rest and admire the beautiful seafront or the bustling old town and restaurants. Lots of spots in the shade. The area was well maintained, super clean and tidy. I spent many hours over my weekend taking a rest here. There are boat tours nearby and tens of restaurants and independent businesses here as well.
Oscar Phillips — Google review
Whichever way you start, take a leisurely walk up, then down. Choose a bench and sit and stare into the sea. Alternate with looking at the passersby and deciding which ice cream flavor to finally get up for. Enjoy!
Woon Peng Ziady — Google review
During day a walk is a challenge due to crowd and high temperature. But when evening comes, I cannot describe the beauty of this place. I can walk and walk, and taste every single second here.

The Old Town Hall is a historical landmark in Split, Croatia. The building dates back to 1443 and has Gothic windows and a loggia. It now hosts temporary exhibitions. The walls of the old city are still standing, protecting it from attack for almost two millennia.

The Old Town Hall is beautiful. The area has many shops and restaurants. But most of the shops were not open on the weekends. I saw many shops that had items I wanted to purchase but couldn't because we were there on Saturday. However, almost all the restaurants in the Old Town Hall are open for business.

In the old city built by Diocletian, you can enjoy a walking tour with guide or just wonder by yourself through the old town. Navigating is easy because the town is square and with a north to south, east to west cross roads. At each wall of the town are the four gates, gold, silver, bronze and iron.
Inside the town are cafes, small souvenir shops and boutiques selling clothes. For those who are more fit, climb the bell tower for a fantastic view of the city.

You can book a guided tour with English or other languages. Not only the astronomical clock is amazing but visiting old town hall inside with guided tour is very informative. Diocletian's Palace is a large and imposing Roman ruins in the heart of Split, Croatia. It served as a residence for an emperor and the military garrison, and is one of the city's top tourist attractions. The museum inside tells the story of one of historys most powerful men.
It's an old fortress in old town of split. You can roam around the fortress. Mostly it's closed so you can see ruins from outside but still it's beautiful. Many GOT scenes are shot here
this whole place has cafes and bar, ice cream shops and shopping outlets. it’s beautiful place
Laxmi Agarwal — Google review
Really stunning ancient walls, well preserved and a calm place for walks in the evening. Lovely restaurants and shops around the area. Whilst it is one of Splits most popular tourist attractions there really isn't much to see compared to landmarks in bigger European cities
Ryan Evans — Google review
The palace and grounds are an amazing opportunity to step into the past. A guided tour would take you 2 hours approx but give you a history of the development of the palace and it's many uses.
Also, at midday every day there is a small 'welcome' from the acted ruler and soldiers at the door to the palace.
Paul Dallison — Google review
A beautiful location of living history. Contemporary business and active household intermingling and adapting to the Roman history that it all resides in. An audio walking tour of the area is highly recommended, but don't hesitate to stray a few blocks outside the palace on any given side. There are wonderful restaurants and shops near the palace in addition to those inside.
Jim Grant — Google review
The history of this place is just out of this world! A roman palace that’s still live and been repurposed to accommodate the lifestyle in the 21 st century!! It’s a touristy area so expect lots of little shops and restaurants within the walls. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Split.
Ghazal — Google review
We were so stunned walking through this Roman palace in Split! It is actually the world's most complete remains of a Roman palace. On first sight you may not recognize it as a palace as it looks rather like a city wall. This is because in post Roman times the people of split built their city inside the palace. So you will need some imagination when visiting. Best is to start your way in the cellar, entering from the harbor side. Then walk your way up to the historic Peristyle. Also three of the original four gates are preserved. Our biggest highlight was the temple of Aesculapius. Five stars is not enough for this site and even our kids could not get enough of it!
Oliver Falk-Becker — Google review
Great place to see. A lot of activities here. Shops, food, drinks, etc. Please make sure you allow yourself enough time at this ancient historical site. There is so much to see. You need at least 2 solid days to explore all the nooks and crannies, streets and alleyways. Only parts of the original palace remain but are still a significant chunk of the site. It's interesting to see how the newer portions intermingle with the original. If you are into ancient history and enjoy the grandure of construction from that time, this is the place for you. Well... given the multitude of other activities, it's a great place for everyone. Oh, and don't forget to check out the Riva and enjoy the view of the Adriatic sea.
Matthew Babich — Google review
With all the restored and still standing ruins, the experience makes it magical. The architecture of all the remaining structures from the Baroque period back to the Middle Ages can be seen despite the bombing that occurred during WW2.
it was truly a site worth visiting

I loved it here. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect despite the research I had done. It was beautiful inside the walls. The floors was gorgeous & shiny, it's hard to believe how old they are!! The shops are great, lovely eateries, local musicians looking to make a buck, totally worth the visit!!!
Julie Rowse — Google review
Such a great place to spend a few days. Nice restaurants and cafes and lots of history down the small lanes.
You need a ticket to go into the cathedral and some of the other historic sites, but it's not much and definitely worth it. Ticket office is right next to the cathedral.

Amazing place, beautiful, kept in good condition. It's best to visit early in the morning to avoid the crowds of visitors. The atmosphere there is absolutely gorgeous and makes you want to come back there again. From the Palace, you can enter a maze of charming little lanes spreading out all over the old town. This place is a must see!
Pawe? Puch — Google review
Stunning Roman remains right in the heart of Splits. Most of the palace can be visited for free and there are great views of the harbour when you get to the second level. I also highly recommend checking out the crypt for some more touring but I would stay away for the shops as they're overly expensive and clearly tourist traps.
Matteo Tomassetti — Google review
Magical place!! Fell in love with Split on my first day with its narrow cobblestone paved alleyways and relaxed atmosphere with little cafes. Many little shops and a night stroll in the old town is lovely as well.
thi thi htwe — Google review
Diocletian's Palace in Split is truly a gem, seamlessly weaving history and aesthetics. The palace's architectural beauty serves as a testament to its rich past, providing visitors with a captivating journey through time.
Exploring the shops within the palace reveals a mix of treasures, although some may find them a tad pricey. However, the elevated quality of the items, including a remarkable but relatively expensive ice cream priced at 2.50, justifies the expense. It seems that the taste surpasses the cost, making it a worthwhile indulgence for those with a penchant for exceptional treats.
For an optimal experience, I recommend scheduling your visit in the evening. This timing not only allows for a more intimate exploration of the palace's historical significance but also helps avoid the bustling crowds that tend to gather in the middle of the day.
A highlight not to be missed is the bell tower. Ascending its heights provides not only a panoramic view of the surroundings but also a unique perspective on the palace itself. It adds an extra layer of charm to the visit, making the exploration of Diocletian's Palace in Split a truly enriching and memorable experience.

The old city of Split is one of the most wonderful historical cities in the Europe. The labirynth of streets, hidden shortcuts and historical spirit give you a feeling that you are walking in ancient Rome empire. I recommend to walk across streets during day and also to see this beautiful city by night. It's also worth to buy ticket to visit city's attractions - everything in reasonable prices, but experience exceeds expectations.

A fascinating area of Split. Which draws in a lot of tourists. We found it best visited early morning as the foot traffic was less. This allows you to capture the beauty in a more relaxed environment.
The streets are beautiful, and some of the alleys are tiny. Just walk round and take it all in.
Tickets are needed for attractions such as Bell Tower and Cathedral but elsewhere free. Keep your eyes peeled for faces and artwork on the walls above eye level.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the area, and it's buzzing with life. Which is also great.

The palace is not typical like other Roman sites as there are shops and museums in the palace grounds with crowds packing all the main areas even during October time. It is quite impressive and in a prominent sea facing location.
You can easily wander around the palace to see the history, architecture shop and get some food to eat.
I would recommend the underground tour to see the massive structure below the streets and admire the construction feat.
And don't forget to visit the cafes, restaurants and shops in the palace grounds

For me it was like time travel. I can see improvement on the respect to the place. It used to be open for everyone and now you have to pay to see some of that gorgeous old buildings. That's good. We have to preserve our heritage. It's going in the right direction. Nice!

Amazing old town of Split, with the palace of Diocletian. No classical entry required as it’s a lived area of the modern city as well, however booking a walking tour to learn about the history is worthwhile.

This was such an amazing place
to visit and explore. We learned so much history. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Split was an amazing place to visit. We learned about the palace being decorated with numerous 3500 year old granite sphinxes, and now there are only three remaining left. It was supposed to be the retirement home for Diocletian. It was also one of the filming locations for Game of Throne's so that was cool to see as well.

Huge place. Take your time to go through the alleys and be amazed by the engineering to build such a city. I imagine the people staying on the higher "floors" are richer, and since unclean stuff flows down, the people staying at the ground levels and below regularly have to do the cleaning up.
A labyrinth of alleys and overhead arches built with stones is amazing.

I'll never travel to Makarska without this trip planner again
Diocletian's Palace is a large and imposing Roman ruins in the heart of Split, Croatia. It served as a residence for an emperor and the military garrison, and is one of the city's top tourist attractions. The museum inside tells the story of one of historys most powerful men.
It's an old fortress in old town of split. You can roam around the fortress. Mostly it's closed so you can see ruins from outside but still it's beautiful. Many GOT scenes are shot here
this whole place has cafes and bar, ice cream shops and shopping outlets. it’s beautiful place

The history of this place is just out of this world! A roman palace that’s still live and been repurposed to accommodate the lifestyle in the 21 st century!! It’s a touristy area so expect lots of little shops and restaurants within the walls. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Split.

Stunning Roman remains right in the heart of Splits. Most of the palace can be visited for free and there are great views of the harbour when you get to the second level. I also highly recommend checking out the crypt for some more touring but I would stay away for the shops as they're overly expensive and clearly tourist traps.

The cathedral of Saint Dominus was built in 305 CE as a mausoleum for Emperor Diocletian and has remained in use since then, unaltered. It is the oldest Catholic cathedral still in use in its original structure and is one of the best preserved ancient Roman buildings still standing. The bell tower was added in 1100 and the chorus was built in the 17th century.
This is definitely a must do in Split. The cathedral is very ornate and nice. Very peaceful. I definitely recommend going to the top of the tower for nice views of Spilt. The crypt is tiny and has a nice statue of mother Mary.
Be aware that they are closed to visitors if they have mass etc

A small but beautiful cathedral. Admission to the cathedral area only in Summer 2023 is €5/person. You can buy tickets to all areas or to just specific areas of the cathedral depending on how much time you have. The ticket office across the Peristyle accepts card payments . Anyone entering the cathedral itself with bare shoulders will be told to cover themselves with a shawl (provided free of charge outside). Allocate 30-45 minutes here at least. Small but beautiful and well worth your time.

You can buy tickets in front of the cathedral but after 11 its really busy because of all the tourism.
Would recommend buying tickets around 9.
Because we where students we got 50% off the original price.
After we got the tickets we went to the treasury, bell tower and catherdral and there wer no lines for any of these activities.
In the treasury we where able to look and read about the history of the city.
In the bell tower we where able to go all the way to the top and we made some beautifull pictures of the view.
The cathedral was still in shape and we where able to see some old objects used back in the day.
Overall a great experience!

We climbed the cathedral and the views at the top were amazing. Be prepared for steep stairs but there’s not too many, then there is a metal staircase which is easier to climb. Also don’t wear a dress! (It gets very windy)

Beautiful old cathedral. We got there during the rain, and it was time to look at the interior. Inside the church, one could observe many artifacts from completely different times. The view from the tower is not bad, but it was quite windy at the top and we didn't spend much time

This church from the fourth century is a complex having the church, the bell tower and a mausoleum. Regarded as the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world that remains in use in its original structure. Though small compared to other cathedrals, it is an architectural marvel on its own.

The Split Cathedral and other related parts of the area were interesting, beautiful and a nice part of our visit to Split Croatia. Get the ticket that includes all parts of the tour - they have 4 or 5 different types of tickets and it can get confusing but each section only takes a little bit of time to see so see it all! Make sure you retain your ticket - they will check it at each area. My favorite part was the museum - nice and cool with lots of interesting religious (and non) artifacts.

The ticket office is opposite the main entrance and you can buy various options of historical places to visit depending on you time or preference. We had purple tickets €15 each will allowed us into the 5 main sights. The belltower has good views but the stone steps are unusually high so you need to be fairly fit. None of the attractions are particularly large but very interesting.

The Tower is amazing and well worth a visit. Definitely not one to tey if you have vertigo or any dodgy knee joints! The lower sections are polished marble (over many years of use) and with no handrails at that point.

The Saint Domnius Cathedral was the first building to catch my eye when we were in Split, Croatia. It looks so perfect from far away, and it makes me feel it's magnificent when I get closer.
The area has many shops and restaurants. It is the same as most tourist attractions. But most of them are closed because we were there on the weekend! Some stores are very attracted. I wish they were open for business!
Michael W. — Google review
The cathedral is in the palace grounds and a combo ticket includes access to the cathedral and the tower. The tower gives a great view of the city and the access is narrow and on a not so crowded day is a good way to climb up and enjoy the views.
Pradeep Ponnuswamy — Google review
Best views of split up there, I was also very intrigued by the stonework on the tower (mind your head up the first set of steps if you're tall!).
Entry is by tickets purchased just in front of the cathedral. If your shoulders are uncovered, staff will give you something to cover them so that you can enter, so that is not a problem.

The cathedral was awesome , we went during off season and thankfully it was not crowded. We could walk through comfortably and we were very happy to be there.

This is a beautiful historical cathedral in the center of the citadel with sunning architecture. Everything is in very close proximity so be sure to wonder around while you’re there and take in all the wonderful sounds, sights and stores. Beware, this is absolutely a tourist hotspot and therefore not only really, really crowded, but also a hotspot for scammers and pickpockets. Do not let your guard down and you’ll be fine. The only think we would have done differently was to have been there at 7 or 8 in the morning to avoid the crowds and suppressive heat.

The green ticket that grants access to the cathedral and four other locations is well worth the money. The bell tower was also fantastic and we really enjoyed the tiny little Baptistry with all its subtly embedded lore and symbolism.

Croatia Divers offers an amazing experience with a great crew. The instructor, James, was praised for his ability to meet divers at their level and help them progress at their own pace. He specifically helped one diver improve buoyancy and confidence in the water. Sophie was also commended for her helpfulness both in the shop and during dives. Although not directly worked with, Elaina was described as a quiet and steady anchor to the crew.
I've had the pleasure of being 4 days with you when my 11 year old son was taking his diving course. As a resilience coach and Rock and Water trainer I can only say that you are worth more than Five stars. Both the team and the place are great !
Bobby, who runs the place, is very friendly and competent, and so are the other members of the team !
My partner and I came as beginners for an Open Water Course. We were at first alone with an instructor, then in a small group of four, each with our own issues and fears : Nick was very reassuring and always took time to help us individually.
This course takes place entirely on the beach just 5m from the center, which is both very convenient and funnier than in a swimming-pool, for we could already watch starfishes, flocks of damselfishes and many others while learning the basics.
The feeling was so good with the team that we changed our plans to go on for two more days with the Advanced Open Water Course : 5 amazing dives, always in small groups, with the same instructor. I particularly recommend the Blue Hole and the Vranine Wall !
Drawing fishes underwater was quite an experience too.
We came in as complete beginners and 5 days later, we were confidently diving in open water at 20m !
Thank you again for this amazing time <3
PS : the antiCOVID measures reassured us a lot

James was my instructor for my AOWD. I hadn’t been in the water in 9 months and he was great at meeting me where I was and helping me move forward at my pace. I wanted to work on my buoyancy specifically and he helped me trim 4 kilos from my belt and get confident and comfortable with my movement.
Sophie is champion. Seems to do all of the little things around the shop and on the boat. And really helped me in the water. Walked me through underwater navigation step by step and gave me some confidence that I didn’t have coming in.
I didn’t get to work directly with Elaina. But I wish I had. She seems like a quiet and steady anchor to a great crew.
Loved Bobby’s crew and shop. Loved the town. Would highly recommend to anybody that wants to unplug, exhale, learn a ton, and have fun doing it.

Don't let the outdated website deceive you - this is a great and well equipped dive center with friendly international staff. They focus on safety and are willing to work individually with each customer. We walked in, did a refresher off the shore for our 12YO and a couple of days of local diving from their rib. As a well-travelled diving instructor I was trully impressed with how professionally this operation is managed. Now - let's be honest - If you are used to coral gardens of the Red Sea or the underwater diversity of SE Asia, diving in Korcula is not going to impress you much., Yet - If you do decide to dive here - definetly go with this guys!

Vela Spila, a significant archaeological site located in Vela Luka, has been occupied since the Stone Age. The narrow road leading up to the cave features a decent sized parking lot. Admission for adults is 15kuna while students enter for free. Although not very large, the cave boasts interesting posters detailing its findings and offers a beautiful view from the outside. Children can easily manage the walk uphill to reach the cave.
Not so long walk uphill, good even for kids. Nice view at bay and interesting exhibition inside regarding prehistoric people who lived there. If you stay in Marina in vela luka key to cave is in reception.

€2 per person to enter. To get to this cave you drive up a narrow winding road and enjoy the views as to the town below as you go through terraced olive fields.
Once you reach the cave there's parking for maybe 4 cars. It's interesting to visit and imagine what it may have been like for the people who lived here 10,000 B.C.

extraordinary place to experience. cave itself is very impressive. site history is presented on textual panels on the cave walls. a bit 'old school' approach but very informative, and very interesting. you need a bit more than half hour of hill climbing that could be somewhat demanding, especially in the hot weather. so bring the water and 15kn for the cave entrance, and enjoy panoramic view of Vela Luka while climbing!!

Above the harbour Town of Vela Luka. Beautiful town with lots of cafes and restaurants. Many hotels to choose from. The cave accessible by car or well made zig zag trail. You have also a book for visitors. Tickets are free for kids, teenagers, students, tour guides, journalists, local people, taxi drivers and invalids. In the price of the ticket it is included visit to the museum. The best way for coming to Vela Spila by my opinion is walking path called 'Blue way'.Vela Spila will be open in 2022. for visitors till the end of the month Octobar. If You want to visit Vela Spila during the winter time (when it is closed) You can ask for a key in the tourist bureau of Vela Luka.

The cave is a historical and archaeological landmark. Not a cave to necessarily “explore,” which is what we were hoping for. It takes 10-15 minutes to read the informative signs and look around. The view of Vela Luka from outside of the cave is stunning!
We drove up from the city (5 mins). If hiking, the views may be worth the trek, but not necessarily the cave itself.
Michelle Slinkard — Google review
The cave itself is nice as a form of nature, but is also a little disappointment, because the inner “exhibition” is only some information boards on the wall. However the way up is nice, can be demanding in hot weather on foot, and the view is unbeatable.
The famous Golden Horn Beach in Croatia is a popular destination for windsurfing and boating enthusiasts. The 400-meter-long white sand spit stretches into the clear blue sea and is adorned with smooth pebbles. Despite its constant crowds, the beach boasts picturesque scenery with pine trees providing shade and rocky cliffs rising behind it. A small nudist section lies west of the cape, making it an ideal spot for all kinds of beachgoers.
Beautiful and much nicer in April-May or early autumn than in summer holiday season, when is too crowded. For the beach not 5, but 10 stars. For the summer crowds - zero stars.

The beach is great with multiple spots where you can relax under the shade. The water is very clean! There are many options for food and snacks. The train to get here costs 4€ per person.

Awesome beach , mesmerising beach. It’s situated in Brac island of Croatia. Must visit, although during this April month, the water was cold but little bit sunny which balances the things. It’s really is very beautiful and also it’s in horn shape so people visits this beautiful place to have a mesmerising view and awesome scenic beautiful surroundings.

Nicest beach in Croatia. I have enjoyed nice view of sunset from it. It's pebble beach but the stones aren't big so you can go without swimming shoes. I love that the beach wasn't so commercialized with too many restaurants in it. So it has some peace. And it's very wide and big. So you can find a place with no crowd.

Beach is nice, water is super but just remember to bring your own food and drinks, as the price level of beach bars is just idiotic.
0,5l tap beer 6€, so-so pizzas and burgers around 10€, cocktails from 10€ upwards and so on.
Beach chair 12€, 2 with umbrella 36€ and cushioned double chairs 40€.

I had many expectations of this beach, beautiful but not great. The water is clear and clean but not as impressive as other places I've seen. There are many lounge bars and places to eat street food, two quality restaurants. I recommend getting a sofa in a lounge bar and staying there all day rather than paying 36 euros for two sunbeds and a sun umbrella, have a drink and enjoy the whole day.

For two summers, we vacationed on Bok and swam on this beautiful and very famous beach. Very nice memories. The beach is pebbly. The tongue that extends into the sea has a beautiful beach and swimming here is excellent. But there is a lot of wind and no shade.

Often called the most beautiful beach in Croatia, if not in Europe, this jewel of the Adriatic Sea, justifiably deserves this title. The unique shape of the beach created by the sea every day gives the beach a new look. Beautiful transparent sea, sun and pine trees and the shade of them, are all you need for a perfect day at the beach.
A beach that must be visited for life.

Lovely beach with crystal clear water, fishes, infrastructure and great views!
The cost of 2 sun beds and umbrella was 240 hrs in the first week of September 2022.
Definitely recommend to take a walk from Bol, as on your way you can enjoy some beautiful views.

Dont waste your time and money on this beach. 37 euro for 2 beds and a umbrella, 20 euro for parking. Overcrowded and commercialized. Nothing to see when swimming. There are many more beautiful beaches to explore.

You can exhale- you found your perfect happy place
Amazing beach with the clearest and most inviting water with the most perfect color blue
Visually stunning with plenty of shade provided by the trees
Excellent choice of well priced healthy food and bars for R&R
Super clean, no litter, no annoying beach vendors looking to sell you junk, everyone is respectful of the environment and clean public bathrooms
swim for hours or snooze the day away
It really can’t get better than this
You have found you perfect beach

This beach is perfect and the city is so charming, would come back there one million times. You have everything thing you need there, showers, toilets, bars, street food and even bicycle parking. Our accommodation offers bikes for free to the guests so we took advantage of it and went there cycling. The way to the beach is so lovely. Bol is amazing, we are in love with this place.

Located 5 mins from the parking lot. Nice beach but no sand as some others wrote, small pebbles only. At the tip there is a strong current and water is deep but there is a roped off section where the water is calmer and shallow suitable for children. You need to pay to use bathrooms and showers. It is possible to walk along the coast and swim in other less crowded areas.

Zlatni rat is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean with a pine forest and crystal clear sea. But when you step on the beach the impression changes quickly because you will feel like you are in an anthill and when you enter the sea I was like in a fish pond. The crowd was great even though it was September. You will surely empty your pockets on the beach because everything is paid for and prices are high. Sunbeds cost €12 each and a parasol costs an additional €12. There are even three points for water sports, the offer is rich, the prices are uniform and high. Aqua park costs €15 per person for 30 minutes. The offer of fast food is also rich, the cheapest food is a small slice of pizza that costs €5. There is only one toilet on the entire beach and the only shower is located in the same place. Using the toilet costs €1, taking a shower costs €2.50, and if you need a towel to wipe yourself after showering, it's another €1. There is a queue to use the toilet and shower. There are also several beach bars with pleasant music, but they are expensive. The pine forest on the very beach where I used to be able to lie is now mostly filled with fast food kiosks and beach bars. It is recommended that you take everything you can with you, water and other drinks, sandwiches, and a parasol is recommended. The beach, or the return to the city, can be reached by boat, which costs €4 per person in each direction. The same service is offered by little tourist train with the same price of €4 per person in each direction.

First time to Brač island. Bol looks very nice and clean. Great walk by the beach shore. Nice cocktail bars, ice cream and stands with local stuff along the way.
We came here in September and because the high season just ended, there's not many people around. But the sea water is still warm and good for swimming. Water is very clean and clear. You can basically see the sea bed very clearly and deep.
Overall a pleasant site. Would recommend to visit it and enjoy your vacation.

Nice place, the wind is always blowing. One side therefore is with big waves the other is calm. Lot of food stands and restaurants. Playgrounds for kids in water and on the beach. Ideal for surfing and kitesurf. Restricted and watched areas by lifeguards. You have to pay for the toilet, shower and parking.

It’s one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen. The water even at 30ft is crystal clear with colorful fish swimming all around the sea grass. Water is refreshing, plenty of places for snacks and drinks, water activities and more.
Airy rooms & apartments in a refined hotel featuring a restaurant, a cocktail bar & beach access.
The hotel is nice the nearest to Zlatni Rat Beach, the people at the reception are amazing very helpful and the breakfast was perfect ❤️

Well this hotel is disappointing for me. The first reason is, we took it for a jacuzzi and the water was cold. I asked to fix that, they did but didn't tell me how. Next morning again cold water. so for us jacuzzi was useless. The room was big clean nice but it smelled like sewage. At first I thought it might be from the bathroom, but no. the whole room smelled very bad. the sound insulation is very bad. the first night I couldn't sleep because of the music from below and the second night we heard the neighbors in a very unpleasant act. Service was good. Breakfast was good and the location perfect but I do not have wish to be back.and this is not a resort. We went on the third day to the next resort for the same price for all inclusive and much more.

Horrible..
We chose this hotel because of its location, here the advantages of it end..
It is a 3 star hotel, I understand that, but it doesn't mean that it can be filthy. Ripped sheets, dirt in the bathroom, shower drain is stuck, air conditioner is noisy as many comments below say.
I was ashamed because I brought my family for their vacation there. So we had two rooms. And this is for the price they ask.

Great location and great rooms. I think they were just updated so everything was fresh and clean. Service was ok parking is a bit of a mess having to call then drive down a walking path and pay extra 20€. Dinner was great and service was ok. Gin station with fresh cookies was a nice touch. Cleaning lady was awesome and insisted on changing our towels. We liked that walking path forward Bol had many options to stop in for drinks and food and beach was awesome. Not hotel fault but it’s way too commercialized.

Visited the beach restaurant as a group of 5. The pasta and fries were good, so was the presentation. They could be more generous with the amount of carbonara, not gonna lie.
Everything else on the menu was obviously frozen food. Definitely avoid the burgers though, unless you like SPAM for your “meat”patty and dry bread to soak up the massive amount of oil.
David Barczi — Google review
Very disappointing, other than the good location of the hotel near the beach. I'll give you a brief review.
When entering the hotel, when going by car, you have to call the receptionist of a 4-star hotel to open the gate for you. The receptionist does not pick up the phone though so you do have to walk yourself to the hotel and then back to the gate (Half a km). The same goes for departure.
Another problem when going by car is that you have to pay for the parking - 20 euros per day.
You will be given one key - which can be taken by only one person...
The apartments are indeed good looking, fresh but damp for some reason.
The clearing service - rude.
Breakfast - everything cold: chicken nuggets/ fries and pizza (for breakfast?? probably left over from the day before).
The hotel includes a restaurant. Terrible food! With the new owner of the hotel, the food has become gross. The meals that we ordered, many times, were given fully back, and our money was spent rather at a different place. The prices are very high - so why such a bad quality?
A 4-star hotel should have it's swimming pool. We were upset when we were disgustingly kicked out, without being informed, that It was a private pool - a couple of years ago the same swimming pool was a part of the hotel.
...and all of this for such a high price?
Simona Vrlová — Google review
Service, location and breakfast are great!
The breakfast has vegetarian and vegan options like almond milk and fresh fruit.
The hotel is not a resort as the title says. It is a room you rent to stay close to the beach. Nothing else. We stayed 1 night and parked the car in the private hotel parking. By check out we found out we needed to pay the parking (€20) even when you are a guest of the hotel?? We already stayed in a lot of resorts around the world and never did we have to pay an hotel parking. Very dissapointed about this so called resort with no services of a resort.

This is a very nice hotel, I am giving a good review because of the location, cleanliness and the friendly staff. Everyone from the reception desk, housekeeping to the waiters was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The gorgeous beach is a minute away and everything is nearby / within walking distance. There is a nice alley perfect for a walk to the city right below the hotel. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL - THE WORST HOTEL EVER! We booked through Booking and in the end they charged us a much higher price. The people at the front desk could not speak English well so they could not explain the situation to us. The breakfast was terrible, the restaurant smelled bad. The presentation of the food looked bad and very few options. The hotel restaurant is right next to a public pedestrian street so it is very busy, that’s the only street that takes you to the beach. The only view the hotel has of the Zlatni Rat is poor because of the trees and it is the same view that anyone passing through the pedestrian street can see. The only positive thing is that the rooms are new, although when we entered they had a welcome fruit bowl full of ants.

Great location and that's about it. The bed mattresses and pillows are very poor quality, probably the cheapest type.
AC blowing right towards the beds which is not very comfortable.
The breakfast is not in line with the prices the hotel is charging for the night 331 eur; poor food choices and food quality same as in a ordinary cheap hotel.
Omiš, a charming town and port in the Dalmatia region of Croatia, is situated about 25 kilometers southeast of Split. It's where the Cetina River converges with the Adriatic Sea, offering breathtaking natural scenery. One of the must-do activities here is embarking on an exhilarating river rafting experience along the Cetina River. This adventure spans 7.
Dramatic views are offered from this fast zip line ride that runs high above a canyon with a river.
The highlight of my trip to Croatia!! Absolutely great experience, wonderful guides and very flexible customer service. Safe, fun, and magnificent views above the Cetina river and the canyon. The whole experience took 2 hours during the off season :)

Phenomenal experience, gorgeous views, lovely guides. Highly recommend, felt safe the whole time and it was so fun, tiny bit of hiking (8 minutes) which is a lot in the heat but it's not really difficult and they even give you a break, came from Split on the 60 bus and reserved online direct, cheaper than going through an excursion shop! Probably my favourite thing I've ever done!

Me and my partner visited the place in the begging of September.
Didn't have to wait for long but even if you will have to - it is worth waiting!
We were in group of 8 and it was great!
Super guide guys ( sorry I do not remember your names) , but you were fantastic help and we felt safe and cared.
There is eight steps of zip line and belive me - all of them are great and with a amazing views.
We did not know what to expect so our fun was unbelievable amazing! After first line you will understand how cool is that and - please enjoy the views even if you are scared. I was z little because of everything :P
Full fun takes around 3.5 hours with way up and back.
We started at 13:00 in a very hot day so take a lot of water. Most of times you will be in shadows but still, all emotions make it more intense.
Higly recommend for almost everybody.
If you are not afraid of highs - do it!

Is definitely worth the money. Beautiful views, 8 ziplines, and the longest is 800 meters long. The guides are super nice and helpful. If you don't dare to do it alone, you can go down with a guide. Mirabela Fortress (Peovica) is a hilltop fortress in Omis, offering stunning views of the sea and the old town. The climb to the top is not too challenging, with some steps and a metal ladder at the end. Despite an entrance fee of around 3-5 euros, visitors find it worth it for the breathtaking panoramic views. The fortress has played a significant defense role throughout history and is a must-visit attraction in Omis.
There’s entrance fee. But the view worth the price. Would recommend the fortica if you have the stamina to hike a little bit.

Nice place to visit and get a look at city from the top. It is not complicated to get there, not so many steps, I would say this is light version of hiking. But in result, when you get to the top, on the roof of fortress, you get the best view point in the city. This is small city, so you should visit this fortress for sure. If I remember right, entrance fee is 3 euro, so it is not about the money. There are some benches also under the trees, so you can take a seat and enjoy beautiful panorama of a city.

The Alka of Sinj Museum
Museum
Specialty Museums
Beautifull and simple concept of this museum is what will make you enjoy to the fullest. History and heritage on each step witness the ongoing struggle for survival between the Republic of Venice ( as official authority ) and Ottoman menace. In my opinion: must see to understand Croatian history of broader Split area...

Nice cute beach! I took a dirt road because google advised me to do so. It was a rocky road so would not recommend it if you don’t have a four-wheel drive. Apparently there is also a normal road going there so that one I took to go back up. Parking is 30 kn and a wooden beach bed is 100kn per two beds. I was alone so paid half. You can’t order drinks at the beach but you can buy it at the restaurants/bars 10 meters from the beach and drink it from your beach bed. Would like to go back here.

Use roadsigns not navigation to get to the beach, navigation is longer and the road is mostly gravel. Parking is paid, and so are the deck chairs. There is a bar above the beach. The shower is not available on the beach. Other than that the beach itself is a pure gem.

We were here in mid May and it was still blissfully quiet, not yet inundated by tourists. The water was blue and crystal clear, and while it took a couple of minutes to adjust, the temperature was not too cold. It’s a lovely beach composed of rocks, pebbles, and sand.

Beautiful beach, fantastic personnel and relatively realistic prices, you'd be able to drink twice as much compared to other tourist destinations, especially Croatian islands which love to overprice anything there is to sell.
Only downsides would be road quality, which is quite shabby, and parking isn't the best but considering the prices it is not to be complained about.
9/10 experience, will definitely visit again!

Beautiful and spacious beach. The views are stunning here. Way above the beach where the main road is you can see monumental rocky hills so be careful as you descend steeply down to this beach. The sea is clear but deep. Beach suitable for swimmers and kids also. Not a lot of natural shade.

Instagram beach, absolutely beautiful but when you get close it's not all that.
Too much Trash; plastic bottles, plastic bags, cigarette butts, styrofoam, the water is not clear and there is small plastics in the water.

Don't turn where Google says, it's a gravel road, turn at the sign "pupnatska Luka" it's paved

Pupnatska Luka on the island of Korčula is a true hidden gem of the Adriatic. In this idyllic bay, nature is encountered in its purest form: a beautiful beach surrounded by crystal clear and transparent waters stretching all the way to the horizon. What makes this beach special is its tranquility and serenity, far from the city hustle. It's also ideal for families with children, where they can enjoy a safe and friendly environment. One of the crowded beaches on Korcula, however still worth visiting at least once as it is beautiful and the water is clean. You can grab a chilled drink from the local bar and have some food as well. The only minus is the cleanliness of the surrounding areas, guess this comes from the eastern european culture leaving a mess anywhere possible so it is a task for local authorities not only collect money for parking but start collecting some fines from people leaving s... behind.

Perfect beach with facilities in a beautiful bay surrounded with pine forest.. When in main season recommend to start early as obviously gets crowded. 2 sunbeds with ubmrella for 25 eur a day seems fair price for me.. From 1st september price dropped to 20e. What a place to relax!
Known for its scenery, this pebble beach with pine trees & clear water draws many visitors.
Amazing beach with natural tree shadow. Make sure to arrive before 10, since the good spots are quickly occupied. Its great for snorkeling. The parking is too expensive, in my opinion, but you can park above if you arrive earlier.

Probably, if I had a tent or a sleeping bag, I would stay here overnight. To fall asleep and wake up to the music of the waves. This is an insanely romantic place) While I was taking photos and videos, couples in love did not want to leave these cozy caves by the water, and continued to admire the sunset, despite the coming autumn chill. The beach is spectacular and really-really beautiful. Its a nice pebble beach, the water deepens fast. Good place for snoorkering, near the famous rock there are lot of fish to see. If you are not staying here prepare to come early and pay a lot for parking (if you manage to find one) We’ve arrived at 9am and found probably one of the last parking spaces. Parking price in the bottom-near the beach is 20kn/hour, we stayed 9 hours and payed 180kn. No max price, pretty expensive. There is a parking lot a bit more up, there you can park for 100kn/day. Its around 4-5 mins extra walk, if we would visit again I would definitely park there. Other then that the place is superb! Also if you come early you can secure a great spot, it’ll get crowded around 10-11am. There are 3-4 places to eat, so thats pretty good. Also you can rent a jetski/sup if you would like.

1 star down for overcrowded beaches (main season) and -1 star because of cleanlyness. Someone should keep an eye over litter bins and "uneducated" tourists.
Otherwise this is a beautiful place for holiday, nice local people.
Fully recomended for families with children.
Prices and services are average...

Wonderful beach with pretty colour.
Worth to visit here and enjoy sunbathing&swimming.
Need to be careful to occupy place because it’s definitely full.

Famous beach in HR. Could be overcrowded and it may be hard to find parking place if you arrive late at the day. 08.2022 -we payd 130 HRK for all day parking, but the you don't need to pay for an umbrella, because the trees are close to the beach and you could stay below them.

Amazing beach! 1hr drive from Split in a road with beautiful landscapes. The beach offers all facilities and well organised: pedestrian path along the beach, parking, hotels, toilets, cafes, playgrounds. The views are stunning and the water so clear. Photos don’t make it justice 🙌🏻
Pedro Sá Moreira — Google review
Before you go make sure you have beach shoes as this is not a sandy beach. The water was clear and very clean, and there are also a lot of shady pleace where you can hide from the hot sun.

THIS is a proper Dalmatian beach, as they once were, before folks started tearing down the trees and clearing them out. Full of pine trees, the smell is fantastic, the beach is gorgeous, with pebbles and clear water. I wish all beaches in Croatia were like this one. Kudos to the local community for keeping it as such!

Sports school

Surfing, Windsurfing & Kitesurfing
Everything was great, I learned kitesurfing and son windsurfing.
Both had a great time and will be back next year.
The instructors are friendly, skilled and fun and so is the rest of the crew.
Also the price is good compared to some other options we were considering.

Highly recommended if you want to pick up or improve your windsurfing, kitesurfing or wind foiling skills.
Renata and Aleš run a tight ship - well organized, great gear and most importantly a very professional team.
Enjoyed every minute of my lessons there.

We took windsurfing lessons for the very beginners. The trainer was extremely skillful and helpful. He gave us clear instructions and was really engaged and committed. And the price was very very fair. I recommend Water Donkey for everyone interested in water sports. Thanks guys :)

Renata, Aleš and crew are running smooth operation here :) Equipment is in great condition and conditions are excellent. Really good vibes. Will be returning many times to this spot and their center.

Great experience. My trainer Alesh speaks few languages it makes the lessons more comfortable. I made the 12 hours course and in 8th hour I was already riding kitesurfing. Administration made my accommodation just perfect. Location is amazing. So highly recommended.

Best place to spend a summer holiday!!
Perfect atmosphere, beautiful stylish compound, very experienced and friendly staff and instructors. You'll gain a lot of skill while having so much fun!
(Special thanks to Ana and Adi! "Open your mouth!" :D)
Love you guys, see you next year!

Great place to learn windsurfing or kiting. Friendly staff, experienced instructors. We spent 8 unforgettable days with them! We are already thinking about continuing training next year!
Andrew Toulchinski — Google review
The best kite school I was experienced. Extremely calm and professional instructors, great approach to train from deep water which allows to start riding just from fist attempts and also safe as no one nearby. Really cool to be with the team 🤙🏻
Natalia Kuznetsova — Google review
I had a beginner\intermediate group course.
Perfect location
Stable wind
Great staff and instructors
I will come again next year!
I recommend to book the course with a curriculum in mind. It is hard to gather people at similar levels in a group. It is very likely that the group will be mixed so you need to ask to the trainer specifically to teach you x,y,z.
You can also book a private lesson, focus on the learning part during the lesson and then practice by yourself in the next days.

Best holidays ever!
Pelješac is a magical place and staying at Water Donkey is the cherry on top!
The staff is very nice, the equipment to rent is fine and there is lots to chose from (RRD from beginner to slalom boards and freeride sails).
The apartments are really nice and clean.
People there are really chill and the vibes are good all around!

Such an amazing place for summer holidays! <3 Sun, wind, cool vibes and great instructors what else would I need.
Historic city harbor & busy port with a rugged backdrop on a peninsula known for grain & salt trade.
I love walking in the harbor, looking at the boats and sea. And this place fulfilled it. The harbor is clean and sometimes full of people on the promenade.

Very old town full of narrow streets.
A nice square and nice harbour.
Well worth a visit for sure.

Nice old town. Stunning views of the mountains east of the city.

Nice harbour and beach, very clean. The water has a beautiful blue and green colour. There are many restaurants, bars, cafee etc. Cheap food and beverage. Always sunny and hot weather. The prices are cheap comparing to Italy.

Tucepi beach it truly beautiful. It sparkles on sunny days and has a stunning glow as the sun sets.
The clear sea is gorgeous and calm to swim in. We enjoyed sitting on the shore and swimming in the sea.
We enjoyed the walk past day or night.
It's a great little beach with lots of watersports and excursions going on! So you can relax or find something adventurous to do!
Just a tip- if you have your own sea shoes, BRING THEM! The stones are very painful on your feet. But if you don't own any, don't worry, the shops along the promenade all sell them!

They say it is one of the most beautiful beaches of Croatia. Unfortunately there was nothing special about it

Less busy than makarska beach - lots of families - parking insane 5€ for 1,5 hours. But nice water.
Carina Kaiser — Google review
Great beach, little bit of everything. It's in a little bay, so water is extra calm. Clean, with big rocks. Lots of natural shade as well. Few cafes here and there. There's also a dog beach here, so it's super nice for all furry lovers as well.

Just beautiful. Lot of pine trees for shadow. Parking place across the street. Close to the city promenade.

Biokovo
Mountain range
Nature & Parks
Croatia's second-highest mountain, with hiking & bus tours, a dangerous road & dramatic ocean views.
I truly recommend to drive up to the top.
It is worth additional time and effort.
I’ve read a lot how demanding this road can be… to be honest I found it quite soft. You can see the road on one of my photos. The most challenging part might probably be driving backwards on this narrow road when two cars must pass each other.
Tickets can be purchased via web page.
Miłosz Kuciński — Google review
The view is amazing but I recommend to visit this place on the last tour and wait until all people finish taking pictures if you want to fully enjoy this place
Oliwier Kłos — Google review
A waiting time of 2-3 hours, about which no information can be found in advance. An unfriendly reception is alsó, drawn down with money wherever they can.
M?t? B — Google review
Had I known how narrow and dangerous the road up to skywalk was I would have not gone but I’m pleased I didn’t know because the view is spectacular and sense of achievement beats the downsides.
:-)
Vesna Cramer — Google review
It’s ok. I saw that people with height fright were very excited. The road is tricky, but rather for those who go first time in the mountains with a car. Going there, you should go to the mountain top (Svieti Jure), otherewise it is a lackluster event in my book.
Jay Zee — Google review
Beautiful nature park, in the higher regions the roads are just broad enough for one car, so when it is busy I would not recommend this in high season and on busy days, but the views are amazing.
Paul Deckers — Google review
Awesome!
Don't be put off by some of the reviews about the road... yes, its hair raising but as long as you're a confident driver and CAN reverse then you'll be fine! We did it in a Fiat Ducato Van without any problems.
Get there EARLY. Of you're not there at 5.30am (when there will already be a queue) then you'll be waiting 2-4 hours to get up, and you'll face all the early traffic on the road coming back.
Absolute must-do if you are in the area.

(Translated by Google) Awesome and incredibly impressive/beautiful place. You should wear sturdy shoes. (No sandals or similar) From the parking lot you can walk through the forest along the "crater". Please pay close attention to your children, there is only a railing at the top of the crater. (A kind of viewing platform) The path along the crater is very beautiful but unpaved. (And it's quite steep uphill) There is also another path, but it doesn't have a panoramic view.
A trip is definitely worth it. You should also have something to drink with you.
I was very impressed by the sight 😁

Krasser und unglaublich imposanter / schöner Ort. Man sollte festes Schuhwerk tragen. (Keine Sandalen o.

(Translated by Google) The blue and red lakes in Imotski in the nature reserve are breathtaking natural wonders that enchant visitors with their beauty. Blue Lake, also known as Modro jezero, is a picturesque crater lake with crystal clear, deep blue water. Surrounded by high rock faces, it offers a breathtaking backdrop and invites you to relax and enjoy nature.
The red lake, or Crveno jezero, on the other hand, is a fascinating phenomenon. With its intense red water and steep cliffs, it creates a dramatic atmosphere. The red color is believed to be due to the sediments and algae in the water. The sight of the red lake is unique and impressive.

Be sure to wear good shoes. Also note that swimming here costs money. 2.5 euro under 18 and above 5.5 euro. The lake is awesome. No need to bring snorkels, the water is clear but I haven't seen anything. Also no toilet or shops down at the lake. Toilets are present on top.
Marciano Jones — Google review
The Blue Lake is just fantastic. It’s a bit of a hike in and out as the path is just over 1/2 mile long with 450ft of elevation gain from bottom to the top, but it’s worth the effort. Take food and drink as you don’t want to have to go up and down any more than necessary. The lake is a sink hole and is just beautiful. Great swimming, diving and general fun that kept our teenage kids off the phones the whole time we were there. Will be back again soon.
Goran Raven — Google review
Really unique place with his own story.
Blue lake was always attractive to visit but last year's lake accessibility has been improved. There is a path which brings you (almost) to the lake itself.
Once there you enjoy the untouched nature and get unexpected refreshment from the lake.
Way back is not that easy. Do not hurry and keep in mind to take some wather with you.
However, once back on the top there is a great small place "Šimetrija" which offers different types of refreshments. Really great experience.

Absolutely fantastic place. Every time of year is different water level and just amazing landscape. It is possible to make hike around the canyon (sinkhole) in which is the lake
