Must visit for a unique experience! A sandbar in the middle of the ocean serving local snacks like vadapav, modak, tea, coffee, samosas, bhajiyas etc. During high tide enjoy snack in knee deep water. Its only reachable by boat. Many watersports also available here. It's close to devbaug beach.

It's clean and shallow water, that makes it good for swimming and kayaking. Too much fun while doing this activity.

Rides are expensive by local. And but food is good. Best time to visit is in October to march. Feel high tide and low tide of river. Under water scuba, paragliding, dolphins.

On day 3, we visited Tsunami island, which was formed because of the Tsunami that took place in 2004.
People were pretty excited to get into the water, have modaks served by locals and just chill.
This small place in Malvan is highly commercialized but also fun at the same time.
-1 star for being so commercialized.
You can check out the lifeandleisure03 on Instagram to get visual details of Tsunami island.

Tsunami Island is the adventure hub in Malvan. This is the best place in devbag and one can spend hours here.Tsunami Island is really beautiful. However, in the afternoon, it can get hot. Due high tide no land visible. Nice experience. Water sports available. Kayaking available 200/- per person for 20minutes. You can stand in the river and there are fishes like you get in fish pod. It's clean and shallow water. You will have to take boat to reach here. You can bargain hard to get the deal. The boat ride is for 2 – 3hrs including visit to Tsunami Island.

This Island is located 📍 in Malvan and the place is called as Island 🏝️ because it's 200meter away from the main beach ⛱️ and during high time this Island submerge in the water 🌊. The people of Malvan make a living out of this, they have their shops here of breakfast 🍳 water and various water activities. People do Kayaking over here and you can also enjoy some hot 🔥 Vada pav (obviously they charge you a bit over and above the normal price).
You can come here by boat ⛵ they will drop you here and you can enjoy doing activities and everything and you can make a phone call to the boat guy again he will come back to pick you up.
Saurabh Singh — Google review
It is a small island that appeared in the backwaters of karli river after tsunami in 2004. Locals have turned it into the water sports & refreshment center. You can enjoy various water sports & boating activities here. One must try local 'Ghavne Chutney' with 'chaay' here. They are delicious..!!
Prathamesh Kolambkar — Google review
The water is very clear. When there is high tide the island disappears and during low tide it reappears.
Must do boating at morning as there is less crowd and pleasant weather
Rohan Awale — Google review
One of the best island. This place is just amazing. Variety of water sports activities like banana ride, motor ride, boat ride, paragliding, etc are available. There are small shacks which serve delicious food. There are Small shops for buying shells and handicrafts.
Highly recommended for vacation. Visit before monsoon.

Nice place to visit for water sports. This place was automatically created after sunami in 2004. After research in 2006 they name this place as sunami Island. This place is 5 different types of sands. This place then will get popular for water sports. Many small stalls for snacks is available. This place would be underwater for 6 hours and would dry for 6 hours. People will enjoy playing inside water.

Maharashtra Sindhudurg distt. Amboli waterfall is situated in the Shayadri hills of western ghats.
This impressive fall is 350 km from Pune and 180 from Kolhapur. Trend of waterfall is like Dudhsagar waterfall. Amboli is at height of almost 750 mtr over the sea level. Here you can have a exciting view of waterfall from the front.
The tall beautiful waterfall is surrounded by hills, forest and natural landscape.
Picturesque view of waterfall add charm to this place particularly in monsoon.
One can also visit the Mahadevgarh point at 3.5 km and Kawalesaad point just 10 km away known for its scenic beauty as well .

Amboli Water Falls is the best sight in Amboli Ghat. Its very pleasant and scenic during the rainy season. However in dry season, its like any other normal waterfall. Amboli is very beautiful during rainy season when its green everywhere and water flows from everywhere onto the roads.

Amboli
The breathtaking Amboli Waterfalls is located in the hill station of Amboli in south Maharashtra in India.
This incredibly high waterfall is surrounded by numerous other waterfalls as well, and the sight of the falling water and the surrounding greenery add to the beauty and charm of the already mesmerising place. Since the beauty of the falls cannot be enjoyed throughout the year, the excitement and curiosity to witness this magical waterfall becomes doubled, and couples, children, groups of friends, as well as families, have a gala time at the Amboli Waterfalls.
Rock Buddy — Google review
Beautiful and safe waterfall, no trekking required, only few steps to climb to reach up to the waterfall. During monsoon those steps are also filled with water and the view is breathtaking. Currently its raining very less and hence no water over the steps.

One of the best locations to visit during rainy season beautiful scenic view of the waterfall and the green fresh atmosphere around .also there are small tea stalls which sell hot fried snacks as well

This is one of the must visit waterfalls during monsoon. I have visited it a couple of times. There is a lot of crowd during holidays and weekends. The highway is always blocked due to traffic.
Be careful and keep a check on the rains if you are planning to visit during monsoon as there are cases of landslides every year.
As of today 15th of August, there isnt much water due to scarcity of rainfall this year. However, its still a beautiful waterfalls amid the lush green forests of Amboli ghats.

Visited Oct 2023 first week on a Wednesday.
Beautiful waterfall on Amboli Ghat. It was a passerby stop during monsoon but now its popularity is huge. Lots of crowds from Goa, Karnataka & Maharashtra visit.
Steps created to make it safe & accessible.
Lots of delicious Vada pav, sabudana Vada, corn, onion pakoda, chai, coffee stalls at its base.
Do not feed the monkeys. They are not scared of humans.
There is no parking space. Have to park on sides of the road. Huge traffic jams on weekends during monsoon months.

It is one of the point of tourist attractions from Pune to Goa road trip. The best season to visit this place in rainy or monsoon season. I had recently visited this place while coming back to Pune from Goa.
A big thank you to Govt. authority to build staircase to see the closest view of waterfall. It is the roadside waterfall and don’t need any trekking to reach here.

This is the beach from where the instructor will take you for early morning 🌄 boat ⛵ ride to see the dolphin 🐬 ( which depends on various other factors) and also he will show you various other amazing spots (Total of 11 spots they will show you) 😉 like golden rock 🪨, Tsunami Island 🏝️ etc. The ride that we took was for Rs. 2,500 personal boat ⛵ for the group and it will be a ride of 1.5-2.5 hour ⌚ after that if you need they will drop you at Tsunami Island 🏝️ where you can enjoy some food 🥝 and do some water activity and once you are done ✅ you can give that person a call 🤙 back he will come and pick you up. They take you really far from that coast you will be able to feel in the boat 🚢 when you left the beach and entered the ocean 🌊 the stream will be much bigger and shaky, wearing a life jacket 🧥 is mandatory 🛟.

During our family tour to Malvan, Sindhudurg, we stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Kinara Resort, Bhutnath in Malvan. ‘Tarkarli Beach’ is located in Malvan just behind the Hotel Kinara Resort. So one day in the early morning, we went to visit this beautiful beach. It is located around 5 Km away from Malvan town. When we reached at the beach we experienced the beautiful view of the beach with white sand and clear blue waters. In the morning a number of Segal birds were enjoying at the beach. We witnessed the beautiful enjoyment of these birds.
Tarkarli beach is one of the must-visit Tarkarli tourist places in Malvan, so do visit it with your friends & family when you are in Malvan. Affordable and comfortable hotels and resorts are available near the Tarkarli Beach for the tourists.

Visit this beach after mansoon season. It has pristine clean blue waters you can see marin life. There are lots of water sports activities you can do here. Buy fish in morning fish market and give to local people for cooking it for you and enjoy the sea.
Nice and one of silent beach ever. No crowd at all. If you are going on weekends also you will get some people but this beach is not crowded at all. Nice and clean beach. You can enjoy the peace and sea water at the same time. Sunset also looks good from here. Water sports are not available here you have to go to devgaon beach for water sports. Nice hotels are available at beach side. But if you want peace at beach side this is best place to visit.

Tarkarli is a village in Malvan taluka in Sindhudurg district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a beach destination and remote place in southern Maharashtra. Few years ago, Tarkarli beach was declared as a Queen Beach of Konkan region. Monthly, Thousands of tourists are visiting this place to rejuvenate and enjoy thrill of water sports activities. Many scuba diving operators running this activities near Tsunami island, Devbag because of shallow water and low life risk.
Swaying coconut trees, crystal clear waters, and endless waves to ride - what a perfect combination at the beach. Tarkarli beach is one of the most picturesque beaches in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. The white sand, clear blue water and the suru (casurina) trees add to the splendor of the beach.

Popular beach. Has water activity & food concessions. Expect lots of litter, especially single use plastic beverage containers. I wish the adults would set the important example of environmental care for the youngest generation that is watching closely and learning.
Chris Younghans-Haug — Google review
A great place to visit, luckily not many water sports activities are conducted directly on Tarkarli beach, if not it would just interfere with the peacefulness of the beach. The length of the beach is pretty long, so mostly people are spread out. The rush at the entrance is bad with people parking cars and a gross mass of tourists at the same spot. The water is clean and hopefully it stays the same without tourism and litterbugs ruining the place.

Even better beach than north goa beaches. It's quite and clean and so many activities with cheap price than goa. Food here is tasty. People are friendly and helpful. Sindhudurg Fort is a 17th-century stronghold that can only be accessed by ferry and offers self-guided tours with views of the sea. The fort is completely surrounded by water, and some areas are well kept. It's advisable to avoid visiting during hot summer months, but it's a fascinating historical site that's best explored with a guide in groups or families to fully appreciate its history.
The fort is surrounded by water from all the sides, need to take ferry ⛴️ to reach there. Few areas are well maintained. One should avoid visiting during scorching summer

Sindhudurg Fort, a maritime marvel nestled on an island off the Konkan coast, is a captivating testament to the ingenuity of its creators. The journey to the fort is an aquatic adventure itself, with boats ferrying visitors across the azure waters of the Arabian Sea.
Once on the fort, history unfolds in its sturdy stone walls and intricately carved bastions. The fort's strategic location, built to safeguard against maritime threats, offers a glimpse into the maritime prowess of its era. The central temple and various structures within the fort reveal a fascinating blend of architecture and cultural heritage.
Exploring Sindhudurg Fort is like stepping into a bygone era. The expansive views of the sea from the fort's vantage points are mesmerizing and offer a serene backdrop for contemplation. The peaceful ambience invites visitors to connect with history while surrounded by the soothing sound of waves.
However, the lack of detailed information and signage could be improved to enhance the visitor experience. Additionally, the boat journey might not be suitable for those prone to seasickness.
In conclusion, Sindhudurg Fort is a captivating escape into the past, where history and natural beauty converge. It's a destination that offers a unique glimpse into maritime heritage and invites visitors to immerse themselves in its rich history and tranquil surroundings.

One time visit is good. Nothing much is left in the fort. Ferry service which you are using is worst ever. They are not providing any type of safety jackets so be careful. Couple of temples are available on the Forts. Some historical sweet water wells are also you can see. Many people are staying at Fort only. Entry fee you have to pay separately which is 5 Rupees only. If you want guide some local guide is also available which you can hire them they will provide all information about Fort. Most of things are damaged there and our government is also not taking care of it to preserve the history. Overall it's good experience because people on fort are very polite.

A very beautiful fort in between the sea. Breath taking sunset view. Best time to visit the fort is around 4 pm when you explore n enjoy the sunset and come in the last boat. First you need to take tickets for the ferry that is around 100 INR for each. After that again one more ticket you have to purchase which 5 INR for the fort. The Sindhudurg fort was built by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The fortress lies on the shore of Malvan taluka of the Sindhudurg District in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, 450 kilometres (280 mi) south of Mumbai. It is a protected monument. Its main objective was to counter the rising influence of foreign (English, Dutch, French and Portuguese) merchants and to curb the rise of Siddhis of Janjira.[4] Construction was supervised by Hiroji Indulkar in 1664. The fort was built on a small island known as the Khurte island. You have several ferry boats taking you to the fort. You can enjoy a scenic water ride to reach here . I'll never travel to Mahabaleshwar without this trip planner again
I visited the garden this evening to watch the sunset. It was simply spectacular. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks, spotting crabs just for fun, and the breeze. Oh, the breeze. It is delightful.
The rest of the garden is very well maintained.
There are some stalls within the premises serving hygienic food.
All in all, this is a great place to spend your evenings at!

Many food joints to enjoy.
It has wide area and great place to visit with family and friends.
Children play area is also there.
Ample parking facility is available too.
If you plan to go Malvan, you can add this place in your checklist.

A place to relax and chill upon exploring the nooks and corners of Malvan.
Keep in mind that the garden has been run into the ground and not very well maintained. The sound and light show does not work any more and the plants in the garden have grown wild.
You do get a breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea, that’s the only good thing about this place.
There are a few food stalls in and around the garden which serve decent food.

Best natural scenery with the lord temple. Very old Shankar ling found in the sea. The water never crosses its limit and comes to road even in worst situation. That is god's blessings here. Every year during mahashivratri a lot of people visit to get the blessings. The beach is very clean. They have maintained the place very clean with xerox plastic or any other garbage. Very clean and once you visit and see the beauty you will hardly unvisit it every time u visit devgad. The MTDC resort is very costly to stay although it's near the beach. The nature is awesome for years behind since we are visiting here since last 12- 14 years.

20 January 2023.
Kunkeshwar Beach.
We had arrived at Kunkeshwar on the evening of 19th January and left on the morning of 21st January 2023.
Throughout our stay, we did not lose a single opportunity to spend as much time as possible on the beach.
Clean white sand, gently sloping seabed, clear skies, water, and warm sunshine. Not much or negligible crowd. Calm and quite atmosphere what else one wants from a beach. Kunkeshwar beach gives you all this and more.
During all of our stay, only a small crowd was seen on 20th.
On the 20th, late morning/ early afternoon, there was a busload of school children who had
come to the temple and the beach on a school excursion.
There were about 40 to 50 odd children, boys, and girls playing on the beach, building sand castles, and generally enjoying, having fun, and having time of their life. Their happiness was infectious and washed of on us as well.
The best part was when one of their teachers approached Priti and asked if she had any objection if some of the girls took selfies with her! A few shy girls, too shy to ask themselves for a selfie, did come and clicked some selfies After that it was free fir all and the children had good photo session with us all.
It was not only refreshing but a novel experience of all of us.
Had wonderful times at Kunkeshwar Beach

We visited in May-22 and still it was cool place to visit, dense forest, fog n cool breeze in morning. We only managed to spot 3 bisons but climate was refreshing.
Management needs to look into service, should atleast provide clean toilets at entry point of forest, should arrange facility to purchase some snacks at entry point (eg water bottles, chips, biscuits, tea coffee etc).
Road in jungle is rough and only forest department jeeps are allowed, you can get on for 1800 rs which can accomodate 7 PPL. Safari is for around 4-5 hrs, runs in two slots morning and evening.
Entry fee of 200 per person charged over and above the car rent.

I visited this place in December 2022. The entry to the wildlife sanctuary is from Olvan village which is just 1 kms before the starting of Phonda Ghat. There are small homestays where you can reach the night prior and stay as it is best to start the jungle safari in early morning, may be at 5 or 5:30. The safari needs to be done only thru the authorized jeeps by paying a charge per vehicle plus entry ticket per person. This Sanctuary is very dense jungle and sometimes that makes spotting difficult. *Remember: This is not zoo. A person may end the safari without seeing any Bison. * But at the same time, you need to be equally or even more vigilant than your driver cum guide and keep your attention at all sides. I have observed the drivers are in a hurry to take you around and finish the ride quicky so that he gets the next customer. But insist the driver on going slow. When I visited, I was very demanding and the tour took more than 4 hours for me. Probe a lot and ask question so that he too will give you lot of information. Expect some other small animals like jungle hen, Indian giant squirrel etc. You can also find beautiful butterflies, flowers during the tour. As the roads are very bad, persons with motion sickness should avoid going here. Also keep in mind, do not litter, carry plastic inside. This place has a good potential if the government works on tourism development.

Note: From June 5 2023, Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary will remain close until future updates.
Morning Times are the best, the animals can be seen when they are drinking water, soo the timing of drinking water is in the morning hours like around 6.
Also, luckily animals can be seen anywhere if you have a good luck
It is better to have a pre night stay and then starting your ride early in the morning

This place opens at 6 am in the morning. The best time to start the safari is 6 am to 10 am as animals come to drink water so we can see them easily. There are shekarus in the forest which is state animal of maharashtra.
We went in may still there were lush green trees.
We took a jeep for 10 people which costed us ₹2000 and each persons ticket was ₹ 50
Must visit once. This forest is well resereved. There are towers on the main site points which are good photogenic and view from there is amazing.
The guids are nice. they try their best so that we can see the animals.
Even if we dont see any animal the road journey in the jungle is worth it.
It is a 4 to 5 hrs journy so bring your own water bottle, caps, goggles, some snacks etc.

You can rent govt jeep safari for 8 people for 1800/-. They will take you on a 3.5 hour return safari inside the jungle covering 22 kms one way. One of the oldest forts along the Sindhudurg coast. This fort has changed hands a number of times.
Fort has a rich history. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj won this fort in 17th century. Its fortification is quite strong. This fort had a strong hold due to its location. It’s surrounded by water on the 3 sides making it difficult for the enemy to attack.
Fort structure is pretty much intact along with its walls but it’s in bad shape. Fort has not been maintained at all. We need to preserve our rich heritage but nothing has been done to save this Fort so far.
We saw some construction work going on right at the entrance of the fort. Hoping for the best.
Views from the fort wall are good. People also come over here to enjoy fishing. We saw a group enjoying the same. You get guides at the entrance.
Best time to visit is either monsoons or winters. If you plan to cover the fort on your own you might finish it within an hour. But if you go with the guide, you might end up spending 2-3 hrs.

Do maintain the decorum of the place. One of the largest forts in Maharashtra situated on western coast. Glorious Fort indicating the strong power bases of Maratha Empire. It has a history of more than 800 years where it saw many ups and downs and that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj made it an important place with respect to Naval bases in Fort initially build by Raja Bhoj for trading and then expanded by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for protection from naval attack from enemies.

The fort is really good , Has a lot many tales to tell . BUT IT IS IN WRONG HANDS .. Unlike the forts of Rajasthan and MP , it is poorly maintained and has 0 entry charges .. Making it easily prone to abuse . I felt very bad seeing the unmaintained coloumns and broken structures by roots . Since it is a high rainfall zone , it needs more care .. Maharashtra tourism's attitude is disheartening. 40 rs are being extorted by local panchayat in the name of parking but not a single rupee for the fort .
It offers spectacular view of the western coast and arabian sea .
There is the first place where Helium decay rays were discovered , many sound propogating building design and a lot of technicalities .
The Guides available donot seem to have much knoledge and work as photographers instead .
There is a Hanuman temple which has a dargah like top as a tactical decoy to prevent invading forces from Arab and Iberian peninsula (dutch &portuguese) to destroy ...
Its phenominal but the irony is whether to appriciate the minds of those thought that way or to feel ashamed about what our own cultures were subjected to on our own lands .
It has a totally different vibe in monsoons ..
60 to 90 minute drive from Talere square .
Has regular Busea from Ratnagiri and Kankavli .. And also one each from Panaji and Mumbai .

I'll never travel to Mahabaleshwar without this trip planner again
Hindu temple with elephant pillars, intricate stone carvings & a dome with a circular opening.
Kopeshwar Temple near Kolhapur in Maharashtra is a masterpiece of Chalukyan temple architecture. It is yet to get the fame like Chola temples of Thanjavur or Chandela temples of Khajuraho. Maybe because it is a single temple in this region with a much smaller Jain temple in the vicinity. Maybe its time has just come now.
History of Kopeshwar Temple at Khidrapur
There are different views on when this temple was exactly built. Sources point to it being first built in 7th CE, probably built by Badami Chalukyas. Other sources place it in 9th CE during the times of Kalyani Chalukyas. While yet other sources put it to 12th CE built by Shilahar Kings, who were earlier the vessels of Chalukyan kings.
My sense is that it is probably a 9th CE temple later enhanced by Shilahars. You do see a lot of incomplete elements in the temple. For example, the incomplete north and south Mukh mandapas, incomplete carvings on pillars with markings for carving. As they say, incomplete structures give you insights into the making of temples. The Shikhar of the temple is also out of sync with the rest of the structure. Temples anyway are on perpetual construction mode.
The temple thankfully has 12 inscriptions, 11 of which are in old Kannada script while one is in Devnagari. However, none of these inscriptions tell us about who built it and when. One of them dating to 1204 by Yadava Kings of Deogiri do mention the renovation of the temple, implying that the temple existed well before 12th CE.

What a beauty leveraging ancient architecture and designs that are just beyond our imagination. Truely a unique monument which needs to be addressed and admired by everyone. This temple of God Shiva (Kopeshwar) is situated at such a location which is surrounded by river Krishna on three of its side. Entering into this temple makes you realize the fact that how the people at that time had built it. Construction was started in 7th century and later in 12th century Silahara King completed the work with due respect. Best part of temple is the Swargmandap which is at the start, really amazing sculpture and construction done. Only one thing as a tourist you feel bad is that Government has no attention over this beautiful monument

This ancient Shiva mandir located near Maharashtra Karnataka border is an absolute wonder.
I remember visiting it many years back and being completely awe struck by the beauty of it. I was fortunate to visit it again very recently. Since then the road to Khidrapur is a bit better and some shops, parking space has come near the temple.
The temple walls are adorned with beautiful stone carvings, not only within the temple but on the outer walls too. But the biggest attractions is definitely Swarga Mandap. Don't miss seeing it around evening time.
Pro tip: lie fown on your back at the center and look up the swarga mandap. It looks even more beautiful.

Shri Kopeswar (Furious) Mahadev Temple, sited on Krishna river banks, at Koopam village, Khidrapur, in Kolhapur district (Maharashtra) - is a border town of Maharashtra & Karnataka. The historic temple with fascinating myths & legends, was built during 12 century by Shilahara Kings of Chalukya dynasty.
The magnificent architectural marvel of intrinsic stone carvings on the Temple Walls & Pillars are Splendid. The location of the temple has influenced the architectural work with a mix culture of Chalukya, Hoysala & Hemadpanti architectural & artistic marvel.
Inside the temple - the magnificent Swargamandap has a vestibule with an open sky view top. Picturesque.
This is probably the only temple where Lord Vishnu is sited next to Lord Shiva, in form of another Shivling. Also, strangely Nandi is absent here inside the temple premises.
The temple has lost its marvel architectural glory due to past invasions & depletion, erosion in time. Government has not preserved or renovated this wonderful Heritage site. The architectural magnificence would be Lost soon if No initiative is taken for maintenance or restoration by the Government or ASI or UNESCO.
The Visit to the Temple is highly recommended.

Kopeshwar, Khidrapur
This temple is declared as a National Protected Monument in Maharashtra. The temple is a masterpiece of architecture and the beautiful sculptures on this temple are very beautifully carved. There are huge elephants on the gajthara (गजथर) and on the backs of these elephants there are sculptures of different gods and goddesses. Inside the Temple we can see, there are 8 deities of 8 directions, collectively called Digpals occupying their respective directions and in addition, there are 4 images of Vishnu, Kartik, the Sun, and Shiva.

It was one of the most beautiful historical moments I have seen. The temple built with Hemadpant structural style, it faced Aurangzeb's invasion and his attempted destruction. Aurangzeb has distructed trunks of the elephants and defaced human statues. The temple also faced destructive effects of river floods but has survived. the remIning statues and tje architectural beauty is still amazing.
This is the only temple where Gods Shankar and Vishnu are together, and the God Shankar is facing south.
This is the only temple where Lord Nandi is not present with God Shankar.
The temple has some carvings identifying the rich history of Indian culture.
No tickets are required, but I recommend taking a guide to understand the history and the carvings or statues at the monument.

It is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, nice structure and designs on the temple. Temple is constructed with stones only and the fine carvings on the pillars and walls looks great.
Temple is located within a town and many house nearby hence bit crowded. It’s on the banks of Krishna river.

Beautiful! This temple is carved with such perfection!! Everything is carved so ornately and each carving tells a beautiful story. This temple has a lot of history. The circular opening in the ceiling is so fascinating. It is almost impossible to imagine how our ancestors have perfected the carvings with such accuracy! Do visit for this temple has a lot of importance not only spiritually but also architecturally.

A Hidden 12th century temple, built on the banks of River Krishna, Kopeshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva,
Story behind this temple is, when lord Shiva was furious when sati Parvati jumped into Daksha’s sacrifice. Lord Vishnu then brought Shiva to the temple to calm him down. Hence the temple got the name as ‘Kopeshwar’.
The construction of temple started in 7th century AD and the work remained incomplete under various dynasties.
M agnificent piece of intricate Chalukyan architecture. Built with basalt stone, the entire temple is divided into four parts Swarga Mandap, Sabha Mandapa, Antarala, and Garbhagriha / Sanctum Sanctorum. The Swarg Mandap of the temple is unique and stunning. The mandap is supported by 48 beautifully carved pillars and has a large circular stone disc with an open roof.
Apart from the temple, there are no other facilities provided for the tourists. Guest rooms, tour guides, hotels and other information are not available at the venue and so there is not much of a response to this historical site.

Unknown Shiv Temple built in 700-800 decade. Awesome architectural construction shows the marvel of that era. Today you may see many parts of temple are broken due to invaders attack on temple. Many of tourists are unaware of this temple. Near the temple you will get masala chana with excellent taste. This spot is not that much develop and basic infrastructure like toilets, water and other amenities are not available for tourist. Government to see the maintenance of such good place.

Very ancient 1200 years temple devoted to Mahadev. Architecture of temple is heart touching. The temple is on the bank of river Krishna. Very less people know about this temple but with the help of media now people are knowing the place. Transportation is not frequent for the temple. It is situated at Khidrapur (Kolhapur Maharashtra). Architectural marvel!! As a foreigner I'm blown away by the intricacy of this masterpiece! The cubic, sharp edges give this temple a unique look! Like most ancient temples in India, this too has been damaged by some monsters. But nevertheless, what's left would still amaze you! It is a MUST visit!

Amazing 😍 That circular Mantap is mind-blowing! Each and every sculpture, carved pillars are a treat in that Mantap. Interior of the temple is huge and regular Pooja is also done here.
Kopeshwar temple is unique as it features both Shiva & Vishnu, both in Linga form. Legend behind this is fascinating!
Not sure of public transport to this place. It's a remote village. Nearest town is Khidrapur. It's worth the money and time to visit this temple 👌🏻

In the era of social media, the hidden gems like the ancient Shri Kopeshwar Mandir will come to light and I had the opportunity to visit the same in the month of March 2024. It was on my bucket list for long and finally had the chance to visit this historic temple with a beautiful open to sky architecture of the navarang.
This intrinsic architectural marvel has 12 pillars with carvings of deities with an open space in the middle. I am sure, it will be so beautiful to see this place during full moon day.
The inner sanctum is also an awesome structure with many beautifully carved structures. Lord Shiva resides here in the name of Kopeshwar.
Khidrapur lies on the banks of river Krishna on the border of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Lot of parking space on the river bank and you will be charged Rs 30 for parking.

One of the best architecture I have visited. You will need a minimum 2hrs to explore carvings. Each carving has lots to tell about ancient times and spirituality.
When you enter the temple there is a swarg mandal from where sun rays pass into the temple forming a globe structure according to the shift of sun.
Although, outside it was very sunny and warm, the temple was a really calm place to be.
A must visit place.
Outside the temple parking space was available although it was weekend time. And sugarcane juice was a great drink to beat the heat.

I also tried faluda which was decent in taste. I sat there for some time as it was really calm . Try to visit during odd hours you may find less crowds. Especially during weekdays it's really less crowded so you can easily find some place for yourself and spend some peaceful time. You can either read a book, eat something from there or just stare at continuously moving waves of the Lake.
I visited during August last week when it's not too rainy nor too cloudy . I also tried the boat ride which was worth spending for sure. I took dolphin ride for 2 people.

The temple is beautiful and exudes a peaceful and calm atmosphere. It's centrally located and radiates positive vibes.
However parking can be an issue.
Street parking is available nearby and there is a municipal parking lot, but it can be somewhat hard to find.
The municipal parking charges 30 rs for cars. Toilet facilities are also available. It's about a 15-minute walk from the parking lot to the temple.
Be cautious of locals who may try to charge 50rs for parking closer to the temple, as the municipal parking is a more cost-effective and trustable option.

Ganapati Temple is regarded as the most beautiful temple in south Maharashtra. It is situated on the banks of river Krishna at Sangli. Thorle (elder) Chintamanrao Patwardhan consecrated the idol in 1843.
The temple has been artistically built with black stone brought from Jyotibha hills. There is a platform, a hall and a 'Nagarkhana' inside the vast two acres complex of the temple. The entrance door has been carved out of different coloured natural wood.
The idol of the Lord Ganapati is made of copper. The idol has been kept in a way that it is visible from any part of Ganapati Peth. It looks so beautiful when the silvery rays of evening sun brighten the face of the Ganapati idol.
Ganapati festival is celebrated with great religious fervour for five days from Bhadrapad Shuddha Chaturthi.
Sangli is well connected by air, train and road. Dharamshalas and small budgeted hotels at Sangli are available for accommodation.

Beautiful Lord Shiva Temple ❤️
It is located on top of mountain. You will have to climb around 400+ steps. They are not difficult to climb. There is shop lane on side until you reach the top. There are chairs placed in front of shops where you can rest a bit while climbing and you will not even know you already reached the top.
There is beautiful waterfall beside temple and staircase is there to go down and watch the view.
There are monkeys around, you can buy them snacks 😄
Parking available.
Washroom available.
Weekends are crowded but manageable.
Lunch and snacks options available.
There is shop named Prashant Pranil in the lane at base of temple. The shop owner has small hotel( almost like small house) 5-10 min away (by car) from temple with same name where you can get freshly cooked homemade meal. We had garam garam Zunka and Bhakri. It was yummy.

In the state of Maharashtra, there is a small taluka called Sangameshwar in Ratnagiri district. Marleshwar is a famous place of Shiva at a distance of 16 km from Devrukh village in the same taluk. This Shivsthan is in a cave on a mountain. There are two Shivpindis in this cave, one of which is known as Mallikarjuna and the other is known as Marleshwar. It is said that these two are brothers and Mallikarjuna is the elder brother. The cave is inhabited by snakes and snakes. But they do not harm anyone.
Parvati was not here when this place was created. And so it is the practice of this temple that Shiva and Parvati get married here every Makar Sankranti. 'Marleshwar' is the groom and Sakharpa village ‘Girijadevi' is considered as the bride and marriage is arranged. From Sakharpya, 'Girijaidevi' goes in a palanquin from Maral village to Marleshwar. This wedding ceremony is performed in Lingayat style. These Shiva Pindi are Swayambhu. Yatra is held at this place on two days, the day before Makar Sankranti and Sankranti.
For this ceremony, people from the surrounding areas walk to see Mareshwar. After going to Marleshwar, first take a bath under the waterfall and then visit Marleshwar. Located in a small cave away from the village, this place is surrounded by beautiful scenery and green forest. There are high mountains on all three sides. One of the attractions of this place is the waterfall that flows here. Falling from a height of about 200 feet, this waterfall is known as 'Dhareshwar'.
It is said that this waterfall receives a total of twelve smaller waterfalls. From the bank of Sahyadri, this waterfall starts flowing as Bavandi. Bathing under this waterfall in the month of Magh is considered very sacred.

Parshuram is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is said to have made an ancient cave with his axe. The cave is located in the foothills of the Aravali mountain range and is said to be a serene place where Parshuram worshiped Lord Shiva.
The Parshuram Temple in Chiplun, Maharashtra, India, is dedicated to Parshurama and was built in 1700 with financial help from Siddi Rasul Yakut Khan. The temple is also known as Shree Kshetra Parshuram, and is managed by the Shree Dev Bhargavram Devasthan Trust. The temple is located 11 km from Chiplun towards Mumbai, and major festivals celebrated at the temple include Akshaya Tritiya, Ram Navami, and Mahashivratri.
According to Indian mythology, Parshuram was the son of Jamadagni and Renuka, and received an axe from Lord Shiva after completing a terrible reparation. Lord Shiva also taught Parshuram warfare and other skills. Parshuram was born into a Brahmin family, but he had traits of a Kshatriya. He is believed to be one of the Chiranjivis (Immortals), who will appear at the end of the Kali Yuga to be the guru of Vishnu's tenth and last incarnation, Kalki.

There are things know and things unknown and in between are the doors.....
Exploring Chiplun........
According to the Indian mythology, of the seven Chiranjeevs (those who can never die), Parshuram is Lord Vishnu’s sixth avatar (incarnation) and it is so believed that he is residing on the Konkan coast as a protector of the West. Shri Parshuram, who donated the earth to Kashyap Rishi and pushed back the entire ocean for himself is the creator of the great land of Konkan. His ancient temple is situated 12 kilometres away from Chiplun.....
Parshuram is the son of Jamdagni Rishi and Mother Renuka. Akshaya Tritiya is known to be his day of birth. This Bhargavrama was known to destroy the demons with the ‘Parshu’ weapon and thus he came to be known as ‘Parshuram’. The speciality of the temple is the stairs which were built by Chandrarao More from Javali nearly 300 years ago.....
The temple was rebuilt by Swami Paramhansa Brahmendra. He was the Guru of Siddi Yakut khan of Janjira, Kanhoji Angre of Kolaba, Peshwa of Pune, Chhatrapati Sahu Maharaj, Tararani of Kolhapur.....
The temple has a splendid architectural beauty, which incorporates both the Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture. The steps from the Ghat lead to the temple premises. The main temple is surrounded by stone walls. The main sanctum has three elaborate idols namely Kal, Kam, and Parshuram. These three idols were brought here 300 years ago by Brahmendra Swami. Shri Parshuram's bed has been kept inside the temple and his traditional footwear 'Paduka' is known to be kept on his bed. There is also a temple of Goddess Renuka behind the Parashuram Temple. The legend goes that the Bandganga lake at this site was created after Parashuram shot five arrows into the land....

Beautiful Temple of Lord Parashuram, with calm and serene surroundings. Located at Chiplun Village. There are some around 40/50 steps to climb to reach temple. There is small local restaurant in the temple complex serving very good Maharashtrian snacks. Do try.

Parshurama is a Chiranjivi (immortal) avatar. After he rid the earth of all the Kshatriyas twenty-one times, Parshurama donated the entire earth to Maharshi Kashyap, thus he could not reside on that land. Parashuram had twenty-one battles to rid of those Kshatriyas Kings who had become brutal dictators and had given up principles of dharma. The Last Ruler to be killed was Kartavirya Arjuna. Rulers like Janak or Ikshwaku who ruled by principles were not harmed. Parshurama shot an arrow in the Arabian sea, pushed the sea back and reclaimed the land of Konkan, today’s 720 km coastline of India stretching from Mumbai to Kerala. Parshurama chose the Mahendragiri peak (in the village also named Parshuram) from this land for his permanent residence. This is the place where the temple is located. It is believed that Lord Parshurama leaves for the Himalayas at sunrise, does tapa in the Himalayas and returns to the temple at sunset.
The major festivals celebrated at the temple are Akshaya Tritiya, Ram Navami and Mahashivratri.

Visiting the Parashuram Temple situated in the heart of Parshuram Ghat in Chiplun was a profound and culturally enriching experience for me. This 17th Century temple was built by Swami Paramhans Brahmendra
Parashuram Temple holds immense historical significance as it is believed to be one of the rare temples dedicated to Lord Parashuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to mythology, Lord Parashuram created the Konkan region by reclaiming land from the sea. The temple is situated on the banks of the serene River Vashishti, adding to its sacred aura.
The sanctum, adorned with the idol of Lord Parashuram, exudes a spiritual energy that is both powerful and serene.

Amazing place to be. If you are looking for a small trail amid nature with good scenic views on the way, then this is the perfect place to visit.
Well we went here in the month of June. I did not find many people here. Though the guard there told me it’s very safe to walk on the trail and you could see the beautiful falls after a 15 to 20 minute walk.
I would recommend to go in groups here to enjoy the trail. We too enjoyed the trail and it was very easy to reach the falls as the place is well built and beautifully maintained. I even saw cctv cameras installed on the trail for safety. A perfect place to explore beautiful scenic valley and the waterfalls.
We Paid Rs. 50 for the entry. They even had toilets inside. Also, there were benches around to sit and enjoy the place.

Breathtaking Natural Beauty at Thoseghar Waterfall
Visiting Thoseghar Waterfall is an experience to remember! The waterfall is in full glory during the monsoon with its waters plunging from a height with a mesmerizing force. The surrounding greenery adds to the serene beauty, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers alike. There are in fact couple of waterfalls smaller and bigger.
The government has made substantial efforts to ensure the safety and convenience of tourists with well-maintained viewing platforms and clear signages. There are small eateries nearby offering local snacks, which adds to the charm of a day out here.
Accessibility isn't an issue as the place is well-connected by road; however, to view the waterfall requires a bit of a walk down the steps, which can be challenging for some but is definitely worth the effort.

Kudos to the government for maintaining khas plateau (valley of flowers) so well. Vasota fort is also nearby unfortunately couldnt visit as the entry timings are upto 1: 00 pm. For visiting the fort have to take boat from Bamnoli. Also you can visit shivmandir, waterfall and see triveni sangam (point where three rivers koyna, kandati and tapola meet). There are shops at around 500 mtrs though
A place for funeral pyre is just at the lake not sure whether in use for not
There are no toilets and seen tourists urinating in the jungle area .
No tickets required
parking available on weekdays, on weekends it might not be sufficient

We were told that end September upto October mid is the perfect time to visit as the flowers will be in full bloom. World heritage site managed by the local wildlife department. We were managed to reach early morning without booking got 1 slot to visit. Cost was 30/- person. and you need to keep a hard copy with you for inspection. The flowers bloom from mid Sept to mid October varying from year to year based on the rain. The classic deccan ranges plateau on top of the mountain with the beautiful Kaas Lake. The plateau place host once a year to a pleothara of wild flowers of various colours that are very pleasing to the eye. I recomend going must in beginning of October.

The Kas Plateau is a stunning natural wonder that truly takes your breath away. The scenery is simply magnificent, with a kaleidoscope of colors and textures that change with the seasons. It's a must-visit spot for anyone who loves nature and wants to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The drive up to the plateau is also very scenic, with winding roads that offer stunning views of the surrounding valleys. Highly recommended!

Best experience of my life!! The weather conditions couldn't have been better! Excellent management... there was no garbage anywhere, perfect place for a day out for nature lovers. They serve only black tea and lemon tea which is really good. They have put nets for protection of the plants so that people can't enter and ruin the place.. they rent out cycles for 50/- INR per hour to explore the place. A must visit place in Sept and Oct as the flowering plants are all seasonal plants..

It is a beautiful place but you need to visit here during perfect time of the season. We didn't get to see purple flowers as we expected, but found many unique flowers, so our overall experience was good. Weather was also nice and breezy as we started quite early morning.

"Visited the Kaas Plateau last October 2022 and I was blown away by its natural beauty! The colorful wildflowers in full bloom created a picturesque landscape that's perfect for photography enthusiasts. The monsoon season seems to transform this place into a paradise. The hiking trails offer breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and the unique rock formations. It's important to follow the eco-friendly guidelines to help preserve this delicate ecosystem. A definite must-visit for nature lovers and anyone looking to experience the beauty of Maharashtra's flora!"

Visited this place on 19th october, was not lucky enough to see flowers in it's full glory due to rains in first week of October but still the place was worth it's visit for the amazing ride from Satara with beautiful valley views on both sides of the road and just walking here at kaas pathar will make you feel good.
It cannot be compared with Valley of flowers, Uttarakhand but has its own charm
There are four gates, entire flower Plateau is barricaded except for gate 1 & 3 which are open and interconnected. Route through gate 4 is longest with a small lake called kumudini and view point for Kas lake. You can hire bicycle at gate 4 for 50 per hour
Considering the changing pattern of monsoon September would be best time provided there is dry spell for atleast 3days
Online booking is must for booking, cost 100 per person. Booking starts from late August till mid October, you can still visit for free after booking is closed but won't get to see any flowers except for vast grass lands.

This is one of the hidden gems of Maharashtra . Very few people visit this regularly . This place by its marathi nomenclature is popularly known as Kaas Pathar (Plateau) . It has lush green outfield with a variety of Mountain flowers which I believe you will find only here . Parking Facility is available . They have separate bus facility which takes you to the plateau from the parking point and also drops you back as well . The best place to visit this place is around Sept every year . You have to do pre bookings from thier website and the process is very simple . Don't miss out on this gem.

Drove to the Kass lake in the same plateau . It was a stupendous location with greenery all around surrounded by the serene lake . Tried to capture some snaps of the stunning views . Drove back bidding adios to the startling mother nature .

Welcome to Kaas plateau.
This is one of the world heritage site managed by the local wildlife department. For to visit you need to book your slot in advance online /offline can also be possible at the entrance. For online, they give all informations about the bookings, costs, place and directions. It was Rs.120 per Adult this year. Please be noted, For to experience this amazing nature of beauty of flowers can be seen in limited period during every year.
The flowers bloom from Early/mid Sept to mid October every year. It varies from year to year based on the rains. they have 3 slots are from 7 to 11 am , 11 am to 3pm and 3pm to 6pm with limited number of slots upto 1000 per slot. But on holidays it seems they open even more numbers than 1000 mentioned. It always better to take printout and keep the hard copy with you as they used to stamp at gates and for easy inspection. You have to park vehicle at base close to the kaas paththar and you have to take bus tour around 5 to 10 minutes to reach the plateau. The shuttle service available up and down at free of cost. Please note, If it is raining day, then there is no point visiting because eventhough it is open
and umbrella is there, but it would not serve purpose
Coming to this beauty, this year the season was not at the peak die to heavy rains here and there made mostly yellow flowers are bloomed and other flowers are in bud stages. But still it's a beauty to visiy and experience the large classic deccan trap plateau top of the mountain ranges with the beautiful on Kaas Lake. The plateau place host once a year to a pleothara of wild flowers of various colours that are very
pleasing to the eye. I recomend going first into the first gate and later so and on...
Due to the crowd and distance, only able to see Gate 1, 2 and 3 and totally missed to visit Gate 4.
Please note there is no good eateries around there, so have to get in Satara also the toilet facilities are not upto the mark, the organisers have to look into that mobile toilets and the cleanliness.
It's a opportunity to visit this plateau and experience atleast once in your lifetime..
Nestled in the Sahyadri Mountain ranges, south of Mumbai, Mahabaleshwar Hill Station is a hidden paradise with enchanting views and mystical landscapes. The town offers cool, pleasant weather year-round and spectacular vistas of lush green hills. Visitors can enjoy activities such as visiting Lingmala waterfall, Monkey Point, and Venna Lake while indulging in delicious strawberries from local vendors.
Needle Point was very much isolated during lockdown and was actually fun to visit as I've never seen this place so vacant. Overall a good place as it gives view of mountains, elephant head, needle & waterfall. Close to nature is always fulfilling.

Amazing place to visit. We had visited Mahabaleshwar sometime in December- wow, what a climate to enjoy! Everything was so perfect - great scenery, fantastic photos, beautiful lake, clean strawberry farms and after all great food to enjoy. Once you checked into hotel, it’s highly recommend not to take your car / vehicles to the main picnic points as most of the places are very crowded and you will waste lot of time searching for parking! The best choice is to hire taxi and roam around - usually they charge for 4 persons full day @ 1,500/- which is quite decent. Taxi drivers are also really helpful and promptly guide you where to spend time and best locations. In the main market, there are lots of standard / high quality hotels and if you haven’t booked in advance, room tariff can be negotiated and very competitive. Just try Vienna lake, Gocart, Strawberry ice cream, and lot of blissful cool climate. We found only parking and is an issue but otherwise, overall a very good experience well spent time with family.

Best hill station to visit either on early monsoon or ending of monsoon. Views are like heaven. Do carry raincoat, umbrella won't help. Hotels and food is good. To enjoy complete, visit with cab or personal vehicle. It's none less than heaven. Market is costly, food is also bit costlier than normal restaurant. But the place, points, views are excellent

Mahableshwar is a heavenly abode on earth. It’s so beautiful. It has a beautiful lake at the entry point. The beauty of Mahableshwar is a wonder but the road tax that we need to pay at the two points - one at Panchgani and one at the entry point of Mahableshwar makes me disappointed many points. These so called road tax collectors are befooling customers. Even administration is not doing anything in this regard. Many people in daily routine are becoming the victims of these corrupted people. Even at entry point of Mahableshwar, the road tax collecting staff charges whatever they want. It’s ridiculous and shame on the authorities. This is really what authorities need to work in.
As far as the Mahableshwar is concerned, the most important aspects I like is the lake view, old church and the try on foods like famous chikki, Fudge and Strawberry Shake. Don’t forget to have Fudge here, it’s really mouth watering. Mahableshwar is known for strawberries, English Gooseberries, other berries also.
So, a complete destination for the family and friends enjoyment👍👍👍👌 I will definitely give 5 stars if the authorities remove road tax enforcement.

Vienna lake is a super crowded tourist place. Especially over the weekends.
There is boating , games , food , horse riding (costly).
The horse riding is really a scam. They take you for a quick 500m round for 3-4 min and charge you 200Rs.
Can you believe it ?
Initially they tell you they ll take a big round for ten minutes but trust me we hardly got five minutes. Someone will accompany you while taking the round.
It’s mostly for kids who are fascinated by the horses. All the horses have their name it’s pretty nice. They are all groomed and well taken care of.
The boating looked nice but is super crowded to get a chance. We didn’t try it we just enjoyed the view of the lake from far.
The parking here is 50rs.

Venna Lake is a great tourist attraction spot in Mahabaleshwar. This lake was constructed by Shri Appasaheb Maharaj, who was Raja (King) of Satara in 1842. The length of the lake is 4 km and width is 1.5 kms. The lake is surrounded by green trees. In late evening one can see the clouds passing over lake water. There is a horse ride just next to the lake. Also, lot of food joints on the road. Few local vendors sell carrots and strawberry near the road. I will highly recommend to buy carrots as they are organic and tastes great. Venna Lake is approx 2 kms away from ST stand/ city market. There are few attractions for kids like toy train, toy cups, giant wheel etc.
The rates for boating are 500+200 for 30 mins assisted ride. 200 for the boating person.
Be careful while using google map as it can direct to other side of lake where you will not be able to reach main lake entrance.

Nice and calm place to have a great boat ride.
Horse ride also available near the lake.
There are two types of rides.
One is a peddle ride where we have to peddle to have a ride which is cheap for a longer time period.
Another is a ride with a boat oarsman where they give u a person who rows your boat which is privy for less time.
But the ride in water is worth it whichever ride you choose.
There is a nearby photo booth too for tourists.

It's important to note that there are no restrooms nearby, so visitors should take care of personal needs before arriving. However, there are vendors selling ice cream and masala cucumber on top for refreshment.
Beautiful view. Visit this point for sunset. Good parking space. Short walk from Lodwick point. Road might seem narrow and unused but Google map takes you to the right place if you put Lodwick point.

lephant's Head Point is the most picturesque viewpoints of Mahabaleshwar ,the overhanging cliffs of this point is similar to the head of an elephant and its trunk. Not a sight to be missed and has its treats along the walking trail with plenty of monkeys. Beautiful place and would definitely recommended.

I recently went to this point to enjoy the scenic beauty.
What i want to highlight here is that there is a portion in this point which is not guarded by the wall & i don't understand why people are more fascinated to take picture while standing facing back to the hills. I think the authorities there should take action to guard the point totally like the way they had made walls to rest places.

Lovely scenery and veiw of mountains. Different types of flora and fauna. Must visit nature lovers. One km walking distance from parking area. Stalls of water and snacks available. Be away from monkeys. You will see different types of flowers on the way. Carry Umbrella with you.

If you are fortunate enough to find board of this point (Zoom the photo) which is hidden by unauthorized sellers and you come to know the point is a walking distance of 1km.
Otherwise you will return from an outside point where the tourists rush for photos on horses and some good views.
But that is not actual point.
The board and way which goes to actual point is shrouded by unauthorized shops/hotels/sellers which misguides tourists and many tourists return from outside point which feels like actual viewpoint but its not.
Tourism department should ban these sellers which are causing distraction or move them away from display board.

Good scenic view over the high mountain n rocks. The rock resembles the head n nose of an elephant. The way towards the viewpoint is bit muddy but when you reach view points its beauty on earth. You can enjoy the chats stall items, cotton candy and please beware of monkeys there. They will be there but can snatch your items if you are carrying a polybag.

I'll never travel to Mahabaleshwar without this trip planner again
Table Land is the second-highest plateau in Asia, renowned for its breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset. It is a popular destination for horseback riding, though it's recommended to explore the area on foot to truly appreciate its natural beauty. The site boasts the footprint of Panch Pandava and a tiger cave where visitors can purchase snacks and drinks.
This is very Beautiful place. Here you can take ride with horses. This is very nice and relaxing place. You can take fresh oxygen here. You can see how Beautiful is our nature 🥰
Pranjal Sadavrat — Google review
It's an overrated place, it has five plateaus with some small caves, but all the plateaus are disconnected so you walk around in one of them only. Horse riding charges are high(2000 per person) for full round. You can also easily walk around and visit all the points but it will take couple of hours so if you have time go for the walk. Lots of movies are shot here and probably looks better after rainy season. In December it was sunny and less greenery. During monsoon I was told that horse riding is not available.
himanshu pal — Google review
Horse ride charges are too high but you can try once if not tried ever. Kids, old people and everyone must sit properly while in the horse ride as the ride is very, very rocky. They give a short trip of the table land through the horse ride and provide some information about the place. Many film’s scenes have been shot here like Bajirao Mastani, Raja Hindustani, etc. There is a pond but the water has been dried up as some work has to be done there. Fresh and naturally cool sugarcane juice is served in the tiger caves. Lot of little things to try on the table land point.
Sneha Ghate — Google review
We had amazing experience. Definitely I recommend this for the fit people. Den cave, Tiger cave are at walkable distance. Hidden cafe are there. One can have beautiful dining experience in nature 💕. Don't fall for the horse riding trap. Just enjoy walking these beautiful points. Enjoy the beautiful lake from the Table Land.
Only issue we faced was searching ' table land' on map. It showed another route. So one local guy helped us and asked to search for Joseph convent school and then to follow the table land road. Accordingly, we reached the correct destination. Parking is available there. Fee is 30. Food joints are also available there.

Considered as Asia's second biggest plateau. Great views for photography at the time of sunset. Horse riding was thrilling and enjoyed it the most, chose the right plan to cover the complete Table land area with a guide. Street food is also good.

The place is so peaceful and Memorable for the loved once. We visited in the month of January so no entrance is allowed to the old road some construction is going on so we have to enter through the backside, which is almost a mountain trekking spot if you have to reach the plateau.Take a walk if you are a fitness freak as it's is too high and risky to climb.Horses are available for certain points they will show at certain price starts from 800 to 2500.The guide will show you the historical points and show you the famous movies shooting spots.Just enjoy the nature and beware of the monkeys so do not carry anything while entering into the caves. There are two famous caves Den dine cafe and devil's point entry fees 15rs there you can enjoy the sunset.Teas and snacks are also available.Great experience.
Suraj Mandal — Google review
The plateau is divided into 5 plateaus. One cannot access other plateaus from one. The plateau Table Land is a barren flat on top of a mountain. One can see beautiful views of surrounding areas below it. The plateau has horse ride as well as horse carriage ride facilities. The horse carriage rides are not enjoyable as the ride is very jerky and not suitable for elderly people. The horses are not trained properly and tend to go out of control of the carriage handler. If you stop to watch the caves the hose carriage will not wait for you and end the trip. It is advisable to walk the plateau which ma take 2 hours time. The Tiger Cave and one more cave is not maintained properly and is clustered with food stalls by contractors who has taken the caves on lease from local authorities. They charge entry fees. At some places it look like they are preparing fresh caves by digging the soil!

Beautiful place in mahabaleshwar this is the second largest plateau in Asia. You would love this place in monsoon or in winter there are two caves too you can do a mini trek. Beware of monkeys do not carry any fruit or drinkable unless you want to feed them. Keep mobiles seperate from eatables as they might snach your food and you can loose your mobile too.

Need to be careful about horse ride charges, good place, jungle walk around the tiger caves they charge ₹15, it's 5 mins walk but worthy . Very cool place, better to have sugarcane juice or lemon juice once back at parking things are bit costlier at caves.

Asia's Second highest plateau. Beautiful place with beautiful view 😍 I suggest not to take overpriced horse ride as you can cover the area by walking and it will be more enjoyable. It has the place where you can see footprint of Panch Pandava and has a cool tiger cave where you can buy some snacks and drinks. I took the service of an old man with his telescope to view some popular spot in panchgani, particularly the shooting spots of some Bollywood movies like Dabang, Tare zameen par, Raja Hindustani etc and it costs only 50 rupees. I had lime water of rupees 30 from the tiger cave and it was really cool refreshing even without ice. Tiger cave costs 10 rupees for entry.

It is an amazing place to enjoy nature and the lateritic plateaus of the Western Ghats. The plateau is a home to numerous endemic species of flowers and plants. Some of the most beautiful orchids are also present on this plateau. The tourism has been kept in check with the help of the restricted track for horses but wanderers should take precautions so as to avoid trampling of these beautiful flowers.
Anurag Nashirabadkar — Google review
The only spot in Panchgani worth visiting, its a very big flat land on a cliff with mesmerizing views from every corner. Recommended to walk because horse rides are not that good and overpriced. Come in rains to see clouds and speedy winds. It may take upto 3 hour to cover it on foot. you can see the city and lake down below. There is car parking fee and food stalls, games at the entrance. Had a good time.
Kashish — Google review
This is the largest plateau in Asia we were told. It's a nice place to catch great views of Panchgani, especially during sunrise and sunset. There are a few activities here that you can take advantage of like horse riding tours and pull cart tours of the plateau.
Be sure to visit the Tiger Cave or Lion Cave which have small cafes set up in them.

Visit in rainy season or winters… not for summers… although we saw a beautiful sunrise there… at sharp 6 AM on 18 May
The view of city from the top is amazing… there are horses also… you can do a ride in under 1000 bucks.
Overall it’s a beautiful place…

Table land is one of the biggest plateau in and around Maharashtra. The horse riders will tell you to come with them for 500 mts and then convince you to ride with them for looking at all the points.
They will quote anything from 500 rs. to 2000 rs. For 4 points, 7 points, 11 points and so on.
You will not miss anything if you don't look at those points as the price that they quote is very high. You may negotiate with them on a non peak day.
But by walk, you can definitely go to the caves and see where panch pandav once resided during their vanwaas.
There is another tunnel after you reach the cave wherein there is a idol of Shankar Bhagwaan.
You can sit in the cave and have some Maggi or tea/coffee as there are couple of vendors out there.
The parking is outside and you need to walk inside. The horse riders will try to grab you at this place itself.
If you take a horse, they will show you single tree, Sydney point, Ganesh visarjan lake which is now called as Bajirao Mastani Lake, etc.
They will tell you names of all the movies which were picturised at this place.
Taral Shah — Google review
For you it's a Very good place.
Amazing photos can be taken.
Horses and horse carriages are very costly.
Can be travelled on foot too.
Don't fell in trap of horse owners.
Many movie shoots done there
Beautiful pandava caves with fine dining experience also there.
The moment you reach scammers will come with horses to give you a demo and tell you the ride costs Rs 240 only but after taking you inside, they will ask you for Rs 2500 for the ride. The taxi people are hand in glove with these scammers. They mistreat the horses too. This scam should immediately end. The place is pretty boring too. There is nothing really to see here. Just plain barren land and nothing else. I would say take if off your list if you are visiting Panchgani. Tiny dingy caves and nothing else actually.

Our trip to Tableland was a wonderful experience thanks to the picturesque location here. This is said to be the second longest mountain plateau in Asia.
The best time to visit here is the evening before the sunset when u can do excellent photography. The view from up above is very beautiful. We can also choose to go for horse rides which takes us around one or two plateaus.
We preferred a carriage ride(4 people) for 1500 /. Solo rides are also available at similar rates. There are many shops on the way where one can have tea and snacks and other accessories made of different colored stones.

Table Top is the name locally some people call this place.
It’s a huge open space where you can enjoy proper sunrise & sunset.
Try visiting this place during cold weather, it’s a very pleasant place to enjoy your time with loved ones!
There are horse rides available, in which they will take you to multiple points. Don’t forget to bargain, they will quote you way higher than the usual price just because you’re a tourist.
There are also local stores for shopping and eateries which provide tea & maggi. The tea was fine, maggi was also good but the onion bhajiyas were amazing, don’t forget to have bhajiyas and chai there.
Jay Haria — Google review
Excellent place, best recommended at the evening time. If you are using Google maps to drive your car there, make sure to set the location to table land parking.
There are snacks available around the location. A lot of horses if you don't want to walk. Tangas for elderly too.

I recently visited the Mahabaleshwar Temple and was thoroughly impressed. The temple itself is stunning and filled with intricate architectural details. The atmosphere was serene and peaceful, making for a very spiritual experience. I also appreciated the well-maintained grounds and the beautiful natural surroundings.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful, and I appreciated the cleanliness of the temple. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in ancient architecture and spirituality.
Additionally, the temple also provides a great view of the surrounding area, so it's worth visiting for the view alone. Overall, a must-visit for anyone in the area.

Just visited the temple in the morning in June.
There was good rainfall and we took some raincoats at very cheap price.
The raincoats are available here.
Then we visited and did pooja in the temple.
And, the temple is so beautiful and amazing.
And, as we were returning, tried food -
1. Potato Crisper
They were instantly making it and serving it.
It was so delicious and tasty.
And the way it looked and got served was so well.

Ancient Lord Shiva temple in Mahabaleshwar. It is one of the important pilgrimage for Hindus. The temple is very serene and the architecture is very attractive. It is well maintained and clean also. As this temple is one of the prime attraction of Mahabaleshwar, it is very crowded. It is very difficult to get parking space on weekends. The parking charge is Rs. 20/-. Also there is queue for Darshan, I visited during weekdays and have to wait around 20 minutes, but the crowd is well managed.

Baneshwar Temple

Sights & Landmarks
Jungle temple from the mid-1700s dedicated to Shiva, with a storied antique bell, ponds & statues.
This temple is located on the Pune Satara highway near Nasrapur, the road is great along the highway but as soon as you take the turn the roads are bad and since you pass through the village centre it's pretty crowded as this place is a main center for many nearby villages. The roads are narrow at some places hence you need to be careful. After reaching the spot there is beautiful Shiv temple and it also has 3 ponds filled with fish and turtles, apart from being a place of worship there is a garden and adventure park developed for attracting more tourists, it has entry fee of Rs 20 for adults.
It's a must visit place during all seasons but specially during monsoon to see the waterfall, we saw a lot of large groups had come here for family picnic with packed food and having it in the shade, good place to hangout, kids can also enjoy in the playground with equipments.
Parking can be a little tight for cars during a crowded day but it's manageable. The adventure park was closed during the lockdown period but it has been reopened and undergoing renovations, please do visit and ensure you enjoy responsibly and contribute towards making this place even better
There are a couple of small hotels serving snacks and packaged drinks incase you need a quick bite, they also sell packed drinking water bottle

Nestled amidst the serene embrace of nature, Baneshwar reveals itself as a tranquil sanctuary, where ancient spirituality and vibrant biodiversity converge in harmonious symphony. At the heart of this verdant oasis lies an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, an emblem of timeless devotion, cradled by two sacred ponds teeming with life—fishes and tortoises glide through their waters, embodying the cycle of life and renewal.
Enveloping the temple, a dense canopy of trees whispers the ancient tales of the land, their leaves dancing to the rhythm of the breeze. A well-crafted path meanders through this green labyrinth, offering pilgrims and nature lovers alike a chance to wander in meditative contemplation, grounded by the earth beneath their feet.
Despite the whispers of misguidance found on the web, the modest entry fee of Rs.20 ushers visitors into a realm where nature's spectacle unfurls—a so-called waterfall that, though modest, charms the eye from the vantage of a thoughtfully constructed viewpoint, overlooking the Shivganga river basin.
For the young and the young at heart, Baneshwar extends its playful embrace with a quaint playground, its swings and sculptures of giraffes, elephants, eagles, and tigers sparking the flames of imagination. Adventure beckons through the thrill of rope bridges and zip-lining, each activity a testament to the spirit of exploration and the joy of soaring heights.
The sanctuary’s care extends to practical comforts as well—ample free parking, inviting eateries, and a floral haven at the garland shop. Though the call of nature may be less pleasing in one respect—the facilities provided—this minor note does not mar the overall symphony of experiences.
Baneshwar is more than a destination; it’s a journey through time, nature, and spirituality, rated highly in the hearts of those who seek its serene touch. Best visited in the rain's embrace or winter's gentle chill, it remains a canvas of experiences, painting memories that linger long after the visit.
As legends whisper of tunnels connecting to historic forts and the tales of kings who once graced its grounds, Baneshwar stands as a testament to history, culture, and the enduring beauty of the natural world. A visit here is not merely a day spent but a moment cherished, wrapped in the green embrace of the earth and the watchful gaze of the ancient.

Park your vehicle for free, visit the temple, after visiting temple, buy entrance tickets & stroll Baneshwar at your leisure. 30 minutes is more than enough at Baneshwar unless Kids want to play more, then 60 minutes enough.
Best time to visit in rainy & winter season (June to Feb). Not recommended during summer.
I visited yesterday i.e. 10th September 2023 with my Friends.
After Narayanpur visit you can head further straight to Saswad & from Saswad to Dive ghat to Phursungi to Hadapar to Pune. There is no toll post on this route.
For any doubt on road junction or road T junction (eg for Nasrapur, Kapurhol, Saswad) please ask there & there itself.
It is better to ask & be on right route than heading on wrong route without asking.

Nagaon is a coastal settlement situated on the Arabian Sea's shores in the North Konkan area of Maharashtra, India. This beach town is positioned at a distance of 9 km from Alibag and approximately 114 km away from Mumbai. Nagaon Beach attracts visitors primarily due to its hygienic environment and exciting aquatic sports. The shoreline stretches across an expanse of nearly three kilometers, providing ample space for leisurely strolls or engaging water activities without feeling overcrowded.
The Kune Falls manor house overlooks the falls from a elevated perch and is one of the most secluded places you can visit in Lonavala. The views from here are spectacular, with water cascading down over tiers of rocks into a small lake below. It's definitely worth a trip to explore this beautiful spot, especially during the rainy season when the water pressure increases and makes for an even more amazing experience.
One of the best place to explore the nature during Manson season. Its a must visit place for nature lover. It is located near rajmachi village and those who want to track there can track to kataldhar waterfall too.

See the panoramic view of Kune Falls from Kandla Ghat view point. Don't follow this (Google Maps) location because it is inaccessible. There is no direct route to the falls. If you want to reach these falls, you have to trek more than 4 kilometers through forest and grassland. But even the local peopl are not aware of the exact location of these falls. If you're following the route suggested by locals, you will reach near to Della adventure park which is very costly.
