The ticket counter on the left to the entry gate. It costs only Rs.10 per person. And is closed from 1:30pm to 2:00pm for lunch break. And the place is open even on sunday.
But if you are in the premises before that you are still allowed to see things.
The place was neat and clean and well maintained. There was no rush when we visited.

It's the birthplace of our great son Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. His contributions in freedom struggle can't be measured. But we Indians couldn't give enough respects to him.
However let's talk about his birthplace. His birthplace is well designed and has a record of photos to imply his contributions in freedom struggle.
To enter this place you will have to pay 10rs and this place is closed on all official holidays.
You know I entered this place from backward and felt very congested as the place is surrounded by congested bastis. So I think still we couldn't honour his birthplace.

Nestled in the Old City, Cuttack Odisha, on the confluence of River Mahanadi, Mother Chandi is the main deity who is looking after and protecting this Premier Capital of Odisha .This powerful black stone deity is the ruler of Cuttack and a living goddess.
According to legend, the present piece of land, where the holy temple is located, was lying fallow before. Late Sri Hansa Panda, who happens to be the Purohit of the then King of Kanika, experienced a strange unusual feeling within himself. Surprisingly on the same night, The Goddess "Chandika" appeared in his dream and requested him to take her out of the land.
The image of the deity is older than the temple. It is believed that she was the family deity of the Gajapati Empire in the medieval age, due to Islamic invaders' attacks she was buried while the kings migrated to Puri. This temple was established in 1946.

The arati timing of this temple is 6:30 PM. The shoe stand price is 5/- per footwear. The mandira bhog is 100/- and one deep is 20/-. The holy place is a bit pricey so better take your own puja essentials from home. The vibe is very positive and powerful here so make sure you have cleansed your brain before entering the temple or else you'll not be able to understand the feel I'm talking about. Remember to leave space in front of the lion to see maa during the arati. That's what you need to know for visiting the temple.

The Odisha State Maritime Museum in Cuttack is dedicated to showcasing the region's maritime heritage. Visitors can view various ship equipment, such as compasses and maps, as well as model boats and exhibits on boat-making processes. The museum also features an aquarium and a 4D cinema that synchronizes seat movements with video footage for an immersive experience. Admission prices are reasonable, with parking available for two-wheelers at a small fee.
This place is all time fresh. I visited place years back with as my school visit on behalf of the heritage club. After that i visited yesterday and everything was so fresh. It's a fun place for kids and equally good for youngsters and adults to hang out. Unlike usual boring museums, it's a place that provides lots of other means to spend time with family and there is something for everyone. Along with the maritime history of Odisha, it also has a beautiful aquarium, a mirror maze, a 4D movie hall and a well maintained park. There is a small cafeteria with limited snacks options and a small souvenir shop too. But the cleanliness and response of staff could be improved.

An awesome temple situated at the top of a hill.
You can reach the place by thrilling bike road on the curvy road or you can take the 1352 stairs.

Be aware of the monkey.
Take lots of beautiful pictures and enjoy the beauty.

Best place to explore nature and devotional feeling.. You just feel like you're in the lap of mother nature... If you are fit to climb the 1352 stairs, then please prefer the stairs as you will get a golden opportunity to feel the calmness and tranquility that way. I climbed the 1352 stairs all the way up to the temple and felt so satisfied about that. I think only Lord Shiva devotees can feel those brilliant feelings... A MUST VISIT IF YOU ARE IN ODISHA!!!

Hindu believed temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The ghat section needs careful and cautious driving to reach the temple. For pedestrians more than 1300 steps to be climbed. You have to be very much alert during purchasing and holding valuable items, food etc from the monkey. Pure vegetarian food (rice, dalma, chutney, curry and khir ) are available during daytime inside the temple premises. Beautiful temple surrounded by hills, jungle and small spring. At the base of Kapila's temple a children's amusement park, science garden, and a small animal zoo can be visited.

I always like to go where nature's beauty is spread all over. Kapilash is one of them. There is a temple of Lord Shiva on the top of the hill where he is worshiped. The environment is good & you can't watch the whole place in one day. Also, the washrooms and toilets are very clean to use. The best part is that you will get lost in the beauty of nature. There is a hotel that provides lunch by giving you paid token before the lunch. Lastly, I enjoyed the trip to Kapilash a lot and obviously, you will also.

Kapilash Temple, also known as Mahadev Chandrashekhar Temple.
The temple is famous for handicrafts, and during the three-day festival of Shivratri, thousands of pilgrims gather there. Devotees carry water from the Mahanadi in earthen vessels on their shoulders, and then trek barefoot to the hilltop to pour the water on the Shivling.

It's a best place to visit. Tample of Lord shiva(Chandrasekhar) is placed on the kapilash mountain and you have to ride 1352 stairs to reach there and it's a beautiful journey. Although there is way to travel by vehicle to the temple it's better to go by stairs if you are capable. After the Lord shiva tample you'll find Sita entudisala that is the birth place of Laba and Kusha after climbing the mountain for 15-20 mins after. Then again after 15 mins you will reach to the top which is known as Devahava where all the gods are believed to have meetings every knight.

It is a very peaceful place. The temple is situated on the top of the mountain and to reach there there are two paths, one main and one direct road. Both the paths have their own ways. If you go from Sidhi, you will have to climb 1352 steps and If you go from the road, you will reach the valley road which has 12 bank roads.☺️
Walled Hindu temple complex with multiple shrines & colourful domes, dedicated to Goddess Biraja.
One of the Ashtadasha Shaktipeethas. Powerful place this and one can experience the vibrations within a short duration of Meditation/Dhyan. Like most devotees have mentioned before priests are money minded. They are not happy with the dakshina offered but demand for a certain amount. But one must look beyond these irritations to experience the ambience of this temple.

Biraja Sakthipeeta is a historic temple located in #Jajpur. The principal deity is Matha Durgadevi, who is worshiped as Viraja. Jajpur itself is called #Viraja Kshetra and #BirajaPeetha. The Durga devi has two hands (dwibhuja), spearing the chest of Mahishasura with one hand and pulling his tail with the other. The murti's crown features Ganesha, a crescent moon and a lingam. The temple covers a large area, and has several shrines to Shiva and others. In this Sakthipeetam
Sati's navel fell. Ashtadasha Shakti Peetha Stuti Adi Shankara describes her goddess as Girija. This is also known as #NabiGaya

This is one of the major 4 Shakti Peeth of India. This is a 2 hour 30min drive from the capital of Odisha. This has its own importance. This remains less crowded on ordinary days. There is a Navi Gaya in the premises of the temple for Shradh purposes. The parking around the premises is quite good.

Biraja devi temple is a Shakti Peeth, where Sati's Navel/Nabhi is located. Serene temple and a devine Devi darshan. A bit far from Bhubaneswar though, very interior. Beware of the money minded pandits, they are common across all temples here.
Sujatha K — Google review
1) Time taken to reach the temple from Bhubaneswar Patia is about 2:30-3 hours. Actually we had taken a break for breakfast as we started from home early morning. Overall it might be around 2:20 mins.
2) The only challenge we faced at the place is the public rest room outside the temple perimeter is not clean even if they charge 5/- per person. It’s not maintained at all.
3) Just outside the temple perimeter, there is ample space for vehicle parking.
4) we had a wonderful and peaceful Darshan of Biraja Maa without any crowd or any pull/push of pandas/public
5) The temple perimeter has 7-8 more temples with lot of spaces to roam around. For elders it is a very comforting place as not much stairs to climb and they can sit under a tree if tired or during summer days
6) from temple about 3-4 km there is a Dasashwamedh Ghat which is Beside Brahmani river where people perform Pind Dana rituals.
7) It is said, that the Garva Griha within temple perimeter does not need any cleaning. Once Pind offered here, the Pind only goes to the centre of earth and it never gets filled. Nice concept I found it, as this place is one of the 51 Shakti Peeth of Maa Shakti where “NAVI” of Maa Shakti fell here.

Must visit the temple. It's a very warm feeling you will get inside the temple. You will get a chance to see all of Siva linga inside the temple.
Cons: the pujari harassment is very bad here. Pujari will force you to pay money for any offering to the goddess. Don't pay money to them and keep yourself while entering the temple do not say where you are from.

May have a strong history behind this temple. I heard one localite telling me that Parvvathi's part fell at this place and formed the Biraja Mandir. The main diety is Maa Parvathi. There is a pathal Jagannath Temple and it is not maintained at all as it has become a dwelling for a lot of cockroaches. Some one was distributing prasad for Rs.20 in the temple complex and few people were selling diary products. Towards the left of the temple there were plenty of Shivlings. When we went it was a bit crowded and it took about 1 hour for darshan. Some of the Decotees had orange Tika on their forehead with white thrishul in the center painted.

It is one of a Sakti Pitha and is told to be powerful as one body part of Goddess Sati (before the birth of Parvati Devi), wife of Shivji fell here from across India. There is an ancient story about it.
This Temple is open during morning and evening hours.
The names of idols are also mentioned in Telugu.
Overall one must visit it, will feel blessed.
I am adding the map of Shakti Pithas which was present at the temple, referring which visiting to different Shakti Pithas would be easier.
Colored Spots in map to identify different Shakti Pithas-

Red: Astadasha Maha Shakti Pithas

Review of Emami Jagannath Temple:
I recently had the opportunity to visit the Emami Jagannath Temple, a relatively new addition to the landscape of spiritual places. Built approximately 8 years ago, this temple has quickly become a prominent religious destination, attracting devotees and tourists alike.
Upon approaching the temple, its striking architecture immediately captures your attention. The temple's design is a blend of traditional and contemporary elements, showcasing a seamless fusion of ancient spirituality and modern aesthetics. The intricate carvings and artistic detailing on the outer walls are truly awe-inspiring, reflecting the craftsmanship and dedication that went into its construction.
Inside, the ambiance is serene and filled with a sense of tranquility. The sanctum sanctorum houses the sacred idol of Lord Jagannath, which exudes an aura of divinity and devotion. The priests and temple staff maintain a peaceful atmosphere, allowing visitors to engage in prayers and contemplation without any disturbances.
The Emami Jagannath Temple has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate a considerable number of devotees during peak hours, ensuring that everyone gets a chance to have a darshan (viewing) of the deity without feeling overwhelmed by crowds. This thoughtful approach to managing the influx of visitors is commendable and adds to the positive experience of the temple.
The surrounding gardens and pathways add to the charm of the temple complex. It provides visitors with a tranquil space to stroll, meditate, or simply enjoy the serene surroundings. The landscaping is well-maintained, contributing to the overall ambiance of peace and spirituality.
As the temple is relatively new, the facilities and amenities are modern and well-organized. Clean restrooms, drinking water stations, and seating areas are available, ensuring that visitors have a comfortable and convenient experience during their visit.
Overall, the Emami Jagannath Temple is a magnificent and spiritually enriching place of worship. Its impressive architecture, serene ambiance, and well-managed facilities make it a must-visit destination for those seeking solace and divine blessings. Whether you are a devotee or someone interested in exploring cultural and religious landmarks, this temple offers a fulfilling experience that will linger in your heart and memory long after you leave.

The temple of Lord Jagannath has been built in an area of 4300 square feet. There are temples of Lord Shiva, Maa Bimala, Goddess Laxmi, Lord Ganesh and Sankat Mochan Hanuman inside the campus built in an area of 380 square feet each.
The temple of Lord Jagannath has been built in sand-stone. The architecture of this temple follows the classical pattern of the Sri Jagannath temple of Puri where the main tower rises above the inner sanctum that houses the deities and a subsidiary towe risng above ante-all. In front of the main temple there is Aruna Stambha.

"Kshirachora" in Odia means Stealer of condensed Milk and Gopinatha means the Divine Consort of Gopis. The reference is to child Krishna's love for milk and milk products. It is Classified one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition.

Sacred & Religious Sites
The temple of Lord Jagannath at Baripada is universally known as Haribaldev temple. It was built by Shri Baidyanath Bhanj in 1575 A.D. on the same architectural principles of Kakharua Baidyanath temple. The temple stands as a symbol of the religious favour of the Bhanja Rulers of Mayurbhanj and is regarded as the Queen Monad among the princely states during the pre-merger days.It is made of laterite stone with exquisite designs engraved in the walls. It has height of 84′-6″. A big boundary wall encirles the temple which is a replica of that of Lord Jagannath at Puri. An inscription on the temple wall states that in the year 1497 of the Saka Era this temple was built by Baidyanath Bhanj. This temple, like the Kakharua Baidyanath of Manatri is provided with Vimana, Jagamohan and Nata Mandira and is in a better preserved condition than the latter.Besides the presiding deities, there are as many as seventeen Bedha deities consecrated in the temple. The Jagannath temple compound is provided with small cells in which the images of different religions find place.
Every year Car festival is celebrated on the day after the day on which Car festival is celebrated at Puri. The three deities come to the Radhamohan Temple (Mausimaa Mandir) during car festival which lasts for two days. The speciality of the Baripada Car festival is that only ladies can pull the chariot of Maa Subhadra.

JAY JAGANNATH! The enchanting temple situated at Bada Bazaar of Baripada is a very great Hindu temple of Lord Jagannath existing from 12th Century CE. It is among the oldest temples in Odisha. Very nice temple to visit. Have area for sitting inside the 'Mandapa' of the temple. Ratha Yatra is held every year and a big fair also helds for some days. People from various places come to visit the temple. Also this temple is often called as the 'Second Shrikhetra' of Odisha. Three Chariots are taken out during Rath Yatra. The chariot of lord Subhadra is pulled by women which is the unique one in the whole Odisha. I love this temple very much and have often used to visit the temple.

One gets lots of self satisfaction by going and sitting here.
When you come inside the temple you feel religious because of the holy surrounding.
Though there is a big rush for the darsan of the Lord, it is worth and you feel satisfied. The evening ritual of replacing the flag atop the temple is great to watch.I feel some sort of sitting arrangement may be provided to the pilgrims to see the proceedings comfortably.Anyway it is a lifetime experience to be inside the temple for few hours.

Maa Ambika Temple
Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
People of Baripada and the neighboring places in the district of Mayurbhanj hold Maa Ambika, the presiding deity of Ambika Temple in great awe and devotion. They swear by her literally. The temple is a small one unlike the imposing Jagannath Temple of Baripada and other famous temples of Odisha. Its outer walls are painted in gorgeous colors and the temple complex is quite moderate in size. The interior walls display paintings depicting stories of mythological themes.
The temple is surrounded by many stalls selling prasad, flowers and incense. The official one near the temple main gate sells good khuas and pedas for prasad,.and ghee smeared earthen lamps.
Ambika, the goddess has four arms, each holding a dreaded weapon. She is the incarnation of Goddess Durga. As is the practice in all Durga temples, there is also a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva inside the compound.
Morning and evening Aaratis are elaborate and are well attended. Devotional songs are sung during these times. One can order Anna Prasad in case of a manasika or promise of an offering made earlier. The food is cooked in the temple kitchen before it is offered to the deity before being partaken by family and friends of the devotee.
The modern temple is located less than one km from Jagannath temple and King's palace and slightly above one km from the private bus stand of Baripada. There used to be animal sacrifices in the temple complex earlier. Do not have the latest status on that.

All the old residents and devotees of India Baripada who have faith in Maa Ambika, everyone says to Goddess Ambika that Mata Ambika is very old means she has not even been born. Meaning his generation after generation his father is older than him. His father was the king who was ruling in Maharaja Mayurbhanj. The king of Mayurbhanj had come to Mata Rani and built a temple and established it there. Since then it has been about one and a half hundred and two hundred years to worship here. Here all the devotees would have accomplished all the work by calling the goddess with reverence.

The Ambika temple, Baripada is an ancient temple and the Bijesthali of the presiding deity. People of Baripada strongly believe her as ‘The Living Goddess’, who as a mother showers her blessings to all the mankind. Peoples come to worship here from different states like Jharkhand and West Bengal. Many festivals namely Durga puja, Basanti Puja, Pna Sankranti, Makar Sankranti etc. are observed here. One can reach here by Bus and Train.

Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva & a popular New Year's festival pilgrimage destination.
We visited there on Thursday. On Monday this place is very crowded. There are many Bulls roaming around so beware. There are many temples within the main temple yard. Brahamans (Priest) are polite. If you wish you make your child Bald, then there are many barbers here. You have to pay for many things here, so keep small notes (Money). You will find hotels to stay, fully vegetarian hotels for meals and tiffins and toilets nearby. This place is near Digha, so you can visit there too. Overall this is a very beautiful and good place..

We visited this temple in the afternoon of a weekday. There was no crowd and we could easily have a darshan. The temple premises is clean and tidy. We paid 10 rupees for depositing our shoes. However there is a scam going on in the parking space as suddenly someone just popped up and demanded an arbitrary amount money for our car. We protested and the person created all types of nuisance. Everyone around was just a spectator and we realized that was all a got up show to extract money. Please visit with caution.

Located in Chandipur, Odisha, this temple is just 6.4 km from New Digha beach. Lord Shiva is worshiped in this very beautiful and clean temple. There are two entrances to this temple. But there is a little doubt about the entrance fee, many people say they were charged entrance fee, but we went in the evening, there was no entrance fee at that time. We had a very good experience and I definitely recommend you.

Upon entering the main sanctum, the air seemed to hum with a sense of hallowed reverence. At a distance of 6 km from Digha Railway Station, Chandaneswar Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located at Chandipur near Digha, West Bengal. It is one of the renowned places of pilgrimage in Digha and among the must include places in Digha Tour Packages.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Chandaneshwar is one of the famous temples in Digha. Built-in typical Kalinga Architecture style of Old Odisha temples, the beautiful white marble place of worship rings with the stories and sculptural representations of Hindu mythology. The Shiva Linga here is said to be Swayambhu (or self-originated). A black statue of Nandi is also a prime attraction of this holy temple. One can always find a large number of devotees around the shrine.
The temple plays host to a huge annual fair on Maha Vishuva Sankranti day, the first day of the Oriya calendar. The first day mainly falls on April 14 every year according to the Gregorian Calendar. Half a million people gather around the shrine and fast for several days to fulfill their wishes. If you visit during that period, you will be amazed by the Chaitra Mela (a fair in the month of Chaitra) that continues for 13 days.

The temple here is very beautiful but the priests are very greedy . The priests here have everything except devotion (not all priests) Because they are always ready to collect money from you.
And the bulls that live here, whom we call Nandi Maharaj, are not well taken care of either So if you go here and take something for the animals here and feed them then Mahadev will be very pleased with you.

Chandaneswar Shiva Temple is a major Shiva temple in Baleshwar district and also in our state, Odisha. It is situated at a distance of 45 km from Jaleswar and about 88 km from Balasore town. Digha Sea Beach in West Bengal is only 8 km from there. The palace remains overcrowded on special occasions like Maha Vishubasankranti,Uda Parba,Nila Parba, and Chadaka Mela days. Chadak Mela is the main festival of the temple. There are many bulls roaming around, so beware of them. In that temple, fruits, sweets, and 'Bhanga' are given to God with Bel leaves (wood apple). You will find fully vegetarian hotels for meals, tiffins, and toilets nearby. The pond in the corridor should be maintained properly, as people often bathe here before going into the temple. Overall, it is a very nice place to visit.

Udaypur Sea Beach, located near Digha, is a popular destination for families and travelers. The area offers an amusement park with attractions like toy trains and boat rides, making it a hit with kids. Visitors are advised to arrive early in the day to enjoy activities such as swimming and rafting before the water level rises later on.
Lovely place for hangout. Different types of seafood freshly cooked with some soft or hard drink makes your day. You can also try paragliding or speedboat 🚤trip across the sea. A must go place during Digha tour.

Wonderful beach. BUT. This beach has now become a large open air hookah bar, beer & seafood restaurant. As of October 2023, sitting after 6pm isn't allowed due to an untoward incident at beach. If smell of fishes irritates you, or if you're allergic to fishes, then this place isn't for you. People who don't know swimming but love sea bathing, this beach is ideal for you. No rough waves, almost like wavy river. Please get up and try to back before 6:15pm to avoid shortage of return vehicle. Best to keep a reserved car.

Nice and awesome ☺️ place. It is Uday pur Seabeach near Digha. Personally I recommend you 😉 to come here between 8.00 am to 3.00 pm. Because, after 3.00pm the level of the water 🌊 begins to arise. According to me if you are coming here one day+night trip or more the you should come to the near around 7.00am to 3.00pm because in this time there is good situation to bath in the sea. Here you can also experience the pleasure ☺️ of rafting. There are lots of tubes for those who don't know how to swim . There also rented bikes for men, scooties for women and remote controlled battery cars for childrens are available. In this beach ⛱️ there is no tension for food. Because there are lots of shops of sea food like curries of fishes 🐠🐟, prawns🦐🍤 and crabs etc. According to me you should come here at 7.00am to 3.00pm and in the evening go to Dheusagar Park near to this beach.

This is my all time fav beach so far in the world. Loads of memory, that cant be forgotten. Digha is like a pilgrim to me. I try to make a visit every year atleast. I have been going to Digha since me was 10. So, far uncountables. Over the time lost friends and family, so many members aren't there with us any more, but this place will remain the same for me, my family and for the future generation too. Honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has done an amazing job with the development, locals are happy there. Places are more safe. Only 1 wish there should be few places on the beach at old digha to drink. That's going missing. Its good that i know places. But not at new digha. Our old days were better, we can drink beer with parents and family then soak in the water, was great. Its my views, irresponsible drinking isn't GOVT fault.
Nobody would believe, every time I am there, I still do the sightseeing. Chandrasher temple, Talsari, Udaipur, science-city, marine park, Amravati park and so on and strolling in the market.
I wish GVT could restore the gaming zone at Amravati Park. Its being closed since first visit. I still remember, first my bike race, riding the bike taking those turn,WOW!! Without fail I crossed the finish line.
Whenever, we used to be in water, my little brother used to cry as me and other would go far. he used to scared if we get lost. He is still the same, only he is now, muscular hunk with 6 ft hight. I am blessed I grown up with big family, our trip used to be of 11 members, going with cousins are best feeling. Hookah, beer, booze perfect. Then without sleep going for sunrise. That sunkissed moment and smell of LUCHI, wow.
I am so glad, that those shops still remember us, they are so helpful.

It's a very beautiful place and good for those who earn ₹15000/- to ₹40000/- monthly. You can go and enjoy with family members and friends at a low price. They can enjoy their life happily. Little happiness is more previous than pretending beautiful life. I suggest once a year, everyone should go for recreation. So they can release the happiness of their life.
. It doesn't matter whether you are poor or rich. Life is one, once it crosses the time , we can't come to the same moment to enjoy it again. So please go and have a pleasure in your life with your dear and near love 💕💕 one.

The beach is stunning, with soft white sand and muddy water that stretches for miles. The view of the sunset is truly breathtaking and makes for some great photo opportunities. There are plenty of activities to do on the beach, such as swimming, sunbathing, and even horseback. The beach is also lined with food vendors offering seafood and local snacks, which is perfect for a quick snack or lunch break. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Digha Sea Beach if you're in the area. It's a beautiful and peaceful spot to relax, enjoy the scenery, and take in the local culture. I love this place.
Let me explain to you if you want to go there.
You can come by train or by bus and I'll suggest you to take the train.
There are trains from howrah junction which come to Digha.
If you are taking the bus then come to New Digha
If you are with family then find a good hotel which will be around 1000-1500 per day.
If you are with friends and the room decor doesn't matter to you then find a small hotel which is near the road it will be available at 600-700 per day for 5-6 boys group.
Next morning you can go to other beaches to see sunrise and then comeback by afternoon and enjoy the day here.
If you are non-vegetarian then this place will be paradise for you. If you are vegetarian then it will be hard to survive here cuz everywhere you will find small shops of sea food and nonveg food stalls.

Digha, located in the East Midnapore district of West Bengal, is a charming seaside destination that offers a perfect escape from the daily grind. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Digha, and I must say, it was a delightful experience.
The highlight of Digha is undoubtedly its beautiful beach, which provides a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and rejuvenation. Whether you're looking to soak up the sun, take a leisurely stroll along the shore, or simply unwind with a book, Digha's beach offers the perfect setting.
One of the things that impressed me most about Digha was the abundance of low-cost handicraft shopping options. From colorful trinkets to unique souvenirs, there's something for everyone to take home as a memento of their trip.
When it comes to dining, Digha certainly doesn't disappoint. With a wide array of menus to choose from, you'll be spoiled for choice when it comes to invigorating your taste buds. However, I would advise staying away from vendors selling ready-to-cook fried fish, as it may not always meet the desired quality standards.
Digha's location at the northern end of the Bay of Bengal makes it a popular tourist spot year-round. Whether you visit on a weekday or a weekend, you can expect the area to be bustling with activity. Despite the crowds, Digha maintains a calm ambiance, particularly in the early morning hours.
For those looking to explore beyond the beach, Digha offers plenty of opportunities for sightseeing. Don't miss the chance to visit the famous mangrove region of Bichitrapur, known for its unique ecosystem and natural beauty. Additionally, Chandaneshwar Temple is a must-visit destination that should be included in your itinerary.
Overall, Digha is a fantastic destination for a small outing to escape the daily hassles of life. With its beautiful beach, vibrant shopping options, and diverse dining scene, it offers something for every traveler to enjoy. Whether you're seeking relaxation or adventure, Digha has it all.

Shankarpur is a sea village near Digha, also it is a sea port.
The beach here is very clean and clear, well maintained, great view.
A magnificent place to enjoy the sunset at the evening and the waves of the sea in a less crowded beach.
Resort hotels are available for staying and car parking is also available at the beach area with washroom and varieties of shops located nearby.
Best time to visit is at the evening while tides are coming high and sun going down.

The ambience of silence break through the loudness of waves are here. The sound and display of waves are nonetheless an sumptuous delicacy to the eyes and ears. The smell of the ocean fulfills the very nerve system, it is so refreshing that you would forget to go home once you come to this beach and/or lone ocean end. Too good not to miss the the scenic beauty of this place. Really enjoyable day started with must replenish the mental energy with its jovial nature.

I recently visited Shankarpur Beach and was quite disappointed to find that the main beach area was made of concrete and lacked a natural feel. Furthermore, there was no sand present and the slippery concrete made it difficult to touch the water. However, after walking 100 meters towards the West, we found a lovely sandy area that was perfect for jogging or strolling. While the main beach may not be ideal for swimming or sunbathing, it's a nice spot to sit and catch up with friends or family. Additionally, there are several budget-friendly hotels nearby, as well as a small market and ample lighting for evening chats. Overall, I recommend visiting Shankarpur Beach if you're looking for a place to relax and unwind.

A very beautiful beach, less crowded than digha and mandarmani beach. Must visit place if you are planning to go to digha. Proper seating arrangement is also available. Best place for couples and photogenic people. Good place for enjoying the scenic beauty of the Bay of Bengal. The best part of this place is you'll never find crowd here. You can just sit on the bench and spend hours. The waves are very huge. You can also get coconut at a reasonable price. connectivity from digha is very good. Roads are also good. You can book auto or four wheeler from digha.

Shankarpur sea beach is a hidden gem on the eastern coast of India. With its serene and untouched beauty, it offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The beach stretches for miles, boasting soft golden sand and clear blue waters that are perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
One of the highlights of Shankarpur is its peaceful and laid-back atmosphere. Unlike some popular tourist destinations, Shankarpur remains relatively unexplored, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a more secluded beach experience. The lack of commercialization allows visitors to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings without distractions.
The beach is lined with casuarina trees, providing shade and a pleasant ambience for leisurely strolls along the shore. The picturesque sunrises and sunsets over the Bay of Bengal are truly mesmerizing and make for unforgettable moments.
The local community is welcoming and friendly, adding to the overall charm of Shankarpur. There are several small eateries offering fresh seafood, giving visitors a chance to savor delicious coastal delicacies.
On the downside, the lack of developed facilities and accommodation options may not suit every traveler's preferences. However, for those who appreciate simplicity and natural beauty, Shankarpur is an excellent destination.
In conclusion, Shankarpur sea beach is a hidden paradise that offers a peaceful retreat for nature lovers and anyone seeking a quiet escape. Its untouched beauty, friendly locals, and breathtaking views make it a destination worth exploring for an authentic coastal experience

Awesome places huge difference between digha and Mandarmani.
To me mandarmani is dream place before I didn't love sea so much but after seeing mandarmani i fall in love with this place it's awesome with the beauty of nature and sea goddess. There is a time where the sea current hits the resort and sitting in front of the resort and seeing it enjoying a lot.
The place is not so much full of people thou tourist are visiting this place there are few shops in the mandarmani market the most important thing about mandarmani is that maximum resort hotel cottage are infront of the sea so we don't have to walk far for the same.
It's a huge beach with full of red crabs which making this beach beautiful last i want to say I Love you Mandarmani.

I have visited almost every beach situated under West Bengal territory. I didn't liked the most famous digha beach for its crowd, and i loved tajpur, shankarpur beach for its solitude. Mandarmani beach lies in between them. This beach is not too much crowdy but not very much lonely too. Beach is very long and i walked through it for hour. I think the beach where the small market and manasa mandir is situated is very much busy and this portion of beach is wide, where shops providing food and other services to relax, you can do speet boat ride here.
After that towards tajpur this beach become narrow but as it less crowdy so it's more beautiful but at the mohona this beach gets wide again and there is again some sea side stall built to provide sea food, drinks and more. Overall it was a good stay here.

Best place to visit with family and friends. Mandarmani is less populated than famous Digha beach. Maximum resorts and hotels are near the sea beach. During high tide the water level comes to the edge and water remains far away from the edge when it is low tide. The beach are clean and beautiful. It is a ideal place to spend your quality time watching the sea from your hotel.
Food quality is good, resorts are very good. Sunrise and sunset is awesome. Wonderful experience, go and enjoy your life.
To reach here best option is by a car. You can avail the bus facilities from Kolkata or Howrah and your stop is Chaulkhola bus stop, from here take a auto rickshaw towards Mandarmani. 180 km. from Kolkata city. Digha to Mandarmani distance 30 km. only.

It is an awesome beach in East Midnapur. In the morning water remains far away from the edge ,but as the day grows sea water level comes to the edge. We enjoyed bathing in the sea. Also watched sunrise and sunset from sea shore.
Dulal Chakraborty — Google review
The beach is a great retreat for fun and relaxation. During low tides it is usually much broader and is very much accessible but during high tides the waters reaches the walls of adjacent resorts. There are multiple resorts right adjacent to the beaches having private accessible beach parts. There are multiple fun activities that are conducted on the beach.
Aritra Dutta — Google review
Beautiful beach with less crowd as compared to digha hence a very calm and beautiful place.
Maximum number of resorts are found here starting within the range of ₹2500 and above
This beach is best to spend time with your loved ones ❤️
Must visit - Mohana ( confluence of river and sea) located near about 4km.
Try taking a Toto ( electric rickshaw) that will take you from the beach. You will enjoy it. try to bargain as they charge 200-250 for that 4km .
Do adventure rides such as speed boat as well as banana ride or maybe dirt racing bike ride

I would say It's a beautiful place to visit not only the palace but the gardening the beautiful outside Greenery of the palace the flowers 🌺🌹 and the weather on the very day we stayed was just stunning and adding to the joyous mood.clean and beautifully maintained .But it's a personal view that the rooms lack the heritage a bit as false ceiling and Modern furnitures are somehow toned down the flavour of the rajbari already the interiors but it was clean and equipped with all modern amenities no doubt. And also we wanted to explore the main rajbari but it was not allowed by the protocol. Its my personal request or suggestion if they could make a special arrangement on a particular time to visit the main building of the Rajbari so that we can feel the heritage and relive the moments unheard.but overall we thoroughly enjoyed the sunny weather crisp picturesque scenery all around the palace and the whole Jhargram city is just mesmerizing...and the Rajbari food is just so full and homely yet so so tasty.I wud suggest pls advice them accordingly as it's a huge variety and amt if u cannot gobble it pls take less amt frst then reorder accordingly as wasting food is not good 😊...Then what r u waiting go catch the train coming weekend and prebook Rajbari before hand surely to get the best room.take care happy journey 😊🙏

Jhargram Raj Place ,
Firstly the name palace or the brand advertising of a royal estate is completely pretentious
There is nothing 'Royal' about this overrated hotel ,this can be termed Medicore at best
Secondly the food service is very underwhelming, the quality is very poor ,and no special food request is accepted by the management
All you get in reply of your request is a big and consistent "No" from the management
Thirdly the rooms are not maintained at all ,the floors, windows have not been clean for a long time it seems.
Lastly the price is too overpriced ,this kind of underwhelming accommodation at such a historical place is really disappointing,
Hope the Management can fix the issues and don't fool the customers in the name of Royal palace

A beautiful palace at Jhargram and also a tourist attraction. The property is magnificent and a bit maintained but very secured. The in-house staff were courteous and well mannered. The quality and taste of food has quite some room for improvement. The rooms are neat, spacious with a king-bed and minimalistically but nicely decorated. A big and clean attached bathroom which could be renovated in the future.

First of all it's not a tourist place like any other. It's a private property. It's like a private hotel. If you book room and stay here only then you will get access to enter inside this palace. Very disappointing experience. Bad service and maintenance wasn't upto the mark considering the very high price for the rooms. Neither felt like a palace, nor a luxury hotel.
Whole experience was very irritating.
Not for common people, recommended for those who have money to throw into garbage.

Jhargram Raj Palace.... An excellent peaceful weekend destination.... Just the perfect place to stay in a royal way and feel the grandeur of this royal heritage... Guys pls don't get confused with the other staycations...its absolutely a private property of the royal family and they r still living in it... How can I allow the outsiders to hover around inside my house? Should we do that with ourselves? So pls go through the website properly and book ur royal stay at the palace ground floor itself... Am sure you will love it.... Jhargram Raj palace is not a museum fr the visitors... It's a grand stay inside the Rajbari....You will be allowed till the second gate only. Not beyond that.

Ok i just like this eco park 🏞️ it has Manny tree's 🎄🌴 it's like a forest,, But problem is that there's are so many faults i had noticed. Since the park is full of jungles, many couples don't just come to spend time, they make out. Not only that they are intimate in this park 🏞️ and many kids are watching it in secret . The park is full of jungles and many roads have passed over the park, many shops are inside the park, so many local boys keep an eye on these. My personal opinion is if you are a respectable person or if you belongs to a respectable family plz don't go there . It's terrible 😔

We were visiting this park from our teenage age. We used to come for picnic here. The area is huge and it's covered with trees. A peaceful place to have an outing during weekend. We were once stuck inside the park during a rainy day and it was a truly cherished memory. Kids love the park as they get ample space to run around. Now, we visited this park with our kids. It has changed a lot but still kept its charm intact. They have maintained it really well. Lot of new trees were planted.New garden area and sitting area were created. During winter, it's really a charming place to visit with kids in the afternoon.

Lovely picnic spot. Quite away from the locality. Good for kids also but you may face some awkward situation in this park. Some couples misusing this place. If you come here with your family enjoy with them, don't go or look here and there. You might don't like the scene. Otherwise great ambiance, large place, King's house totally awesome and refreshing place. They give rent their place for picnic. Available water present.. you can come here and find the rest... I am giving a backside view of gopegarh eco park. Full view today. 10 rs per person, 8 rs per bike.

The blockbuster movie of 2023 "Jawan" has collected the highest revenue from this multiplex in West Bengal according to the report..
There are 3 big screen inside the hall,
Honestly, screen 1 & screen 3 are good for any movie,
but there is a problem of screen brightness & air condition in screen 2..
Overall services provided by the staff are good..
If anyone want to go for a movie then it's a good choice 👌 it is also good for couples & children..

Punya is a Bengali term which means holy, it is believed that this pond is very holy and if one has come this far then they should visit this place, initially, one could take bathe in this pond as well but I guess not hey have imposed some restrictions .
This pond is a part of the Sri Sri Matri Mandir complex and is called Punya Pukur, which literally means the holy pond .It was called so as it was frequented by the Holy Mother during her stay in her new house.
This is a historical place. Holy Mother Sarada Devi used this pond for bathing and washing. This is purchased by Swami Saradananda Belur Math in 1915 from the Zamindar of Jibta. It is mentioned in the documents as 'Purna pushkarini', not Punya pukur.

Baba Taraknath Temple is a revered Hindu shrine dedicated to the deity Shiva and serves as a significant pilgrimage site. The temple can be easily accessed by train from Howrah to Tarakeswar, with several options available throughout the day. However, visitors should be wary of individuals who may try to deceive them on their way to the temple.
A very nice temple went on Wednesday 27th December luckily it was not crowded and had good darshan. I was so lucky that I had darsan 2 times at the same time when I went inside.
One thing I would like to share when u reach the temple u will find lots of shopkeepers who will ask u to come to the shop and put ur chappals and shoes in the shop and buy sweets and other Puja material to offer god and they will take to other shops were they will ask you to buy holy water can for jal abhishek and then they will take u to the panda who will demand money like rs1100 and if u gave rs100 than they will leave u alone and ask u to go inside own and do Puja ,don't fall in trap of these guys all r cheater, if u spend some time you will have darshan.
Everything is costly there and outside the temple, hotels food is horrible I had that food and got severe headache, loose motions so plz carry your own food and snacks.

Mandir is good.there are so many trains available from howrah to tarakeswar from morning and the journey will take 1hour and 45mins. There are some public who will guide you to the mandir from station but don't listen them they are fooling common people . Worship materials like water , flower, candles are very costly. Food was very bad. I must say please carry your food and worship materials for puja. Idol of shiva was very beautiful and would catch the eye.

The Taraknath temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva worshiped as Taraknath, is a major pilgrimage spot in the town of Tarakeswar, West Bengal, India. Built in 1729, the temple is an atchala structure of Bengal temple architecture with a 'natmandir' in front. Close by are the shrines of Kali and Lakshmi Narayan. Dudhpukur, a tank to the north of the Shiva temple is believed to fulfil the prayers of those taking a dip in it.
Radhe Krishna Shaw — Google review
The famous temple of Lord Shiva is worshiped as Baba Tarakanath hence the name of the temple is Tarakeswar temple and also the name of the place is Tarakeswar. Shravan month in Bengal is father's birth month. So most devotees come here for puja. Walking distance from Tarkeswar railway station.
Pilgrims take a holy dip in the famous milk pond before the offered puja. Everyone should avoid worshipers called pandas. They will demand unnecessary money for offering pooja and darshan where no payment is required for darshan. The temple floor is always slippery due to water and mud so one has to walk carefully.

We visited Baba Taraknath Temple of Tarakeswar on Monday, 07th. November, 2022.
As per local legends, the temple was built by Raja Bharamalla Rao to discover a Linga in the jungles near Tarakeswar. The temple was later built around the Swayambhu Linga (self-manifested) referred as Baba Taraknath in 1729 AD.
Pilgrims visit the temple throughout the year, especially on Mondays. But thousands of pilgrims visit Tarakeswar on the occasions of 'Shivaratri' and 'Gajan', the former taking place in Phalgun (Feb-March) while the latter lasts for five days ending on the last day of Chaitra (mid-April). The month of Sravana (mid-July to mid-August) is auspicious for Shiva when celebrations are held on each Monday.
If you offer Puja here you have to go through a Pujari who will complete all formalities of Puja offerings.
But if you wish to visit & watch the Swayambhu Linga and offer Ganges water on it on Mondays you have to join in a mass gathering moving towards the main temple under much pressure and follow a unplanned & unmanaged system up to getting out of the temple and there is every possibility to become hurt or sick. The temple committee must look after this and make single queues which will move in a serpentine style and there should be
securities in the only gate who will allow some 5 to 10 persons at a time to enter and after their exit again allow 5 to 10 persons to enter.
Otherwise there is possibility for occurrence of accident, sickness, injury in the prevailing system.
Request the Mandir Committee to make a perfect system by which the place will become more attractive.

Went to Tarakeshwar temple today. It seems the Pandits are running money making Racket alongwith the shopkeepers and Security personnels.
It's just a play of money here. The devotees are treated very rudely by the administrative personnels. It's torturous to go here. There is no proper handling of the crowd by Management. My Dress got torn in tussle to see BABA.
Let Baba Bholanath remain in my heart and in my belief. Don't need any temple to feel him. My 4 star is only for my almighty father, Baba TARAKNATH and 0 for others.

I had visited this place by two wheeler. I was wondering if there is a proper parking facility but didn't find any. When I reached the place one guy from a shop asked me to park it infront of his shop and asked me to keep our shoes there for FREE! Then he asked us to take flowers and Prasad from his shop and charged ₹100 for small one. I had to agree as my two wheeler was there for security reasons.
Then he was taking us to priest so that now it will be his turn to scam us in the name of darshan and Pooja. However, we politely refused. We made darshan on our own.
Keeping that aside, this is one of the best place to visit and offer prayers to Lord Shiv 🙏. Take a holy drip near pond before darshan. Try to visit this place very early in the morning. Men are not allowed to enter with shirts/t-shirts for darshan. This place is managed by female security officers.

Good place for hindu devotees. Little bit congested area. Wheelchair are not accessible. Lack of proper line maintenance can be observed here. Darsen is closed from 9.00AM to 11.00 AM in the morning. Too much gathering observed in holiday, specially in Chaitra, baisakh and shravan months.

In West Bengal we have a prevalent Krishna culture...but the most prominent place of Shiva worship is definitely taraknath temple in tarakeswar...the temple is located very near from the station and pretty well maintained...if we can go early in the morning we can see the original linga..before they put the silver hood on top of it...the temple open around 5 AM in morning...the arati in morning and evening is really powerful ones...we stayed at Hanuman choti nearby and had a early morning darshan as well...i strongly recommend visiting and meditating in this place to feel the energy of Shiva🙏🏻
