Well, big land converted to a religious place having Lor Shiva's statue 🙏 but other than the statue, it is just a place where you can enjoy some food, have shower, and see bullock cart. Lastly a Dome, also called Dhyanlinga where you can sit and meditate. It can also be done at home for people who don't know. Try this, go back home and close your eyes, empty your mind and call upon whoever you worship. God is within you.
They have SAVE SOIL slogan and they love animals. There is bullock cart in 50° degrees carrying passengers from one place to the other. I mean we have battery cars and golf cars but they love animals and want them to know that they are loved deeply. Lets make these poor animals carry 9 people at once under the 50° degree sun. Touche!
Tradition can be supported with technology too, we don't need to harm animals this way. We could barely walk in the sun and these poor animals were carrying so many people. God forgive these people who are doing this to animals 🙏
BATH FACILITY - We had shower in the morning so we didn't go shower here. I mean it's not elixir otherwise we would have definitely.
DHYANLINGA - the road (walk only) leads to dhyanlinga but when its nearly 50° degrees, it makes it difficult to walk barefoot on the UNEVEN and hot surface. They could have put Carpet on the foor covering uneven surface but i guess they were short of funds and also they wanted you to feel the culture. You are going to feel that culture the next day too when your feet hurts. There were old people walking slowly and some of them were pouring water on the floor to walk on that hot surface. It was 3PM and Carpet is a must for people who aren't used to walking on the uneven hot surface.
Finally when you reach dhyanlinga, they will force you to sit inside dome and meditate. We recently had an accident and couldn't sit on floot so they forced us to sit on the chair. We didn't want to be rude so we sat for 2 minutes. There was a small baby crying very softly and these CARETAKERS asked the lady to get out pointing finger as if she made a huge mistake. If they can't respect humanity, what good will come of anything they practice in life. We saw that and immediately stood up. 2 of them tried blocking our way. Well, just to be clear, We bow to God only and there was no God here. We are not slaves they need to get this to their heads. We left instantly without responding to them.
By the way, the best feeling was when we bought 3 packets of biscuits and made the dog eat. He was very happy and kept coming back to give his love. That was the only good feeling we got. We made sure the dog wasn't hungry anymore and then left back for the hotel.
Canteens are everywhere so don't worry if you miss one. There are more on the way. Also phones were not allowed but we noticed some of them carrying it quietly with them. The deposit box is safe. They take your photo and phone number. So nothing to worry about.

I’m reviewing about a unique 'space' on our planet. It needs some introduction.
I’ve a great respect for Tamil people. They follow their age old culture and traditions even today.
Countless Sages & realized beings have illuminated this land since time immemorial.
Sage Agastya , (who wrote our horoscopes in palm leafs known as Nadi Astrology thousands of years ago. Even foreigners come to places like Tanjore to get their horoscope)
Thiruvalluvar, Ramana Maharshi, the great Mahavatar Babaji (I was initiated to Babaji’s Kriya Yoga by Sri M),
Bhogar (It was Bhogar who first noticed the presence of Murugan, the son of Lord Shiva at Palani and made an Idol for him using ‘navapashanas’ or 9 poisons, When these 9 poisons are mixed in a certain proportion, it can heal all ailments)
and finally Lord Shiva himself spent some time on Velliangiri Mountains to grieve his lover’s death. (His wife Parvathi took the life of a Tamil girl in one of her previous life known as Devi Kanya Kumari). That is why this place is known as the Kailash of the South.
Even Sadhguru , in his previous life left his body on Velliangiri mountains. That is the reason he built Isha Yoga Centre just near the velliangiri mountains.
I’ve been longing to visit Dhyanalinga Temple and spent some time inside it since I hear about Sadhguru and read his biography, ‘Sadhguru, More than a Life’. .
We’ve thousands of temples all over the country, but there is one and only one Dhyanalinga Temple. It’s unique.
There is no idol or deity of any kind inside. Only a cylindrical shaped linga with 7 chakras or energy centres as of in a human system with all the chakras energized to its fullest and traped in the linga by sadhguru using his yogic power. It’s a pure energy work.
If anyone who haven’t even heard of mediation comes and sits in front of the linga in silence, he automatically falls to meditation. So Dhyanalinga is also known as meditating machine. Dhyanalinga temple has an important role to play for the centuries to come ahead.
As there is no idol of any kind inside, no rituals are required here.
There is no need to pray inside the temple, just sit in silence. The dhyanalinga will lay the ‘Egg of liberation’ within us. It’ll accelerate our spiritual evolution.
I visited here on Jan31, 2021. Due to corona pandemic, there were many restrictions. Suryakund etc were kept closed however Dhyanaligna Temple was open.
I wasn’t prepared for this journey. I accidentally reached Coimbatore with a friend who wanted to meet his girl friend studying in some college here. We had liquor and non veg food previous days. Yet it was a wonderful experience inside the temple.
If one comes well prepared (having veg foods, little mediation etc), one may have mystical experiences inside the temple.
I was in Coimbatore last week also, but I couldn’t visit Isha Yoga Centre. I’ll be coming here soon with a little bit of preparation.

The credit to all the information I shared here goes to Sadhguru himself, he is a living encyclopedia.
I’ve added a photo of Dhyanalinga taken from the internet.

Meditation happened so effortlessly here. The way everything was maintained in this place was divine. It was as if shiva was himself sitting there in the dome!

A serene and quiet locale.
Minimum 15 minutes meditation time. If anyone feels so, he or she could continue with the next batch.
Well organised and controlled crowd management.

You may have gone to too many temples for seeking health, children, money, marriage issues and they may or may not have helped you to find solutions. But this is of a different kind of temple. You must visit this temple If you are in so much pain of any kind and have not found solutions. If you are sensitive then it's energies will definitely shake your being. If there are temples that are to be visited once in their lifetime then this is it. Do visit and experience the power of Dhyanalinga with open mind and without any expectation😇🙏

Absolutely stunning place to visit once in a lifetime. This is a meditation hall with residences around for the people who visit this place for a purpose. Camera, phones, bags and footwear are not allowed but there is a stall right at the entrance to submit these materialistic stuffs. Basically it's somewhat like leaving all material things behind to enter this area. This is run by the Isha foundation and it is just a km away from the Adiyogi statue. Dhyanalinga is the main highlight of this area where people just sit across the huge linga and meditate as much longer as they want. This is a very peaceful place to be around with all the people doing yoga and meditating in the premises. Must visit!

Dhyanalinga Shiva Temple 🙏🚩
Dhyanalinga Shiva Temple in Coimbatore a city in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Dhyanalinga is present within the premises of Isha Yoga Center. And once you cross Adiyogi statue you need to submit mobile phones and bags to enter the premises where all Kunds, Linga Bhairavi is present.

You will generally walk into one direction making way past across all the Kunds, Temple etc. while before exiting once you look on your right there is an entrance which will lead you to enter Dhyanalinga which at first glimpse will look like the best thing your eyes has ever laid upon. The place maintains complete silence as it usually a place where people meditate in silence.

Dhyanalinga Situated around 30 kilometres from the city of Coimbatore, the Dhyanalinga Temple is a place made up of yogic science. Not belonging to any faith or belief, the Dhyanalinga was made and blessed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. Many worshippers and visitors find this huge linga to be the source of something energetic, magical and calming. Just silently meditating for a while within the sphere of Dhyanalinga is enough to make one aware of the divine energy.

I would give here 3 stars as everything goes well during my visit but one thing I noted here is that the employee of mgmt forced people to make a circle around the Shivling. Which should not be supposed to be done. Otherwise everything at Dhyanalinga is good.
You're not allowed to bring phones here, one needs to submit it at the counter at the entrance.

Adiyogi - The Source of Yoga is a religious organization that houses a colossal steel statue of the Hindu deity Shiva, standing at an impressive height of 112 feet. It is tucked away from the directions provided by Google Maps, and visitors are advised to come in the morning or evening as there are no shades to protect from the sun. The tranquil atmosphere makes it ideal for meditation and yoga while also serving various purposes.

It was a nice place to visit. Calm and quite premises inside the buildings. During the summer, daytime is a bit horrible experience as there are no shadows to rest on the Yogi statue area. The light show at night is spectacular. It creates a memorable moment for the devotees. For the non believers also it is also a nice show..

Great place to visit. It's good for doing meditation. There is a spiritual atmosphere here. The giant statue of Adiyogi is a great attraction. The hotel inside the Isha Centre is clean and the price is economical. Most of the employees are friendly. There was no proper lighting when we walk from the Serpent entrance to the Adiyogi Statue during late evening. I feel it's little risky during that time. It will be good with better lighting in that area. Overall, the experience is great!

This place has the purest air and the most positive vibes. For all those who believe that a place can also be a factor to change your soul, must visit this place. Don't forget to sit and do a little bit of dhyan in this place, you will feel the difference 😊😊
Avoid in the sunny days as the cool Breeze might be missing but when it's cloudy or cold this place is heaven. Try reaching here when the crowd is little less may be on weekdays or early morning.
This place is amazing.

An architectural masterpiece of 112 feet Adiyogi. Adiyogi is situated in the middle of all hills. You have to go almost 8 to 10 KM inside from NH44 highway. Ample amount of car parking, electric buggies, and Carts pulled by bulls to transport from the parking place to the statue. The overall experience was great . There are a lot of food stalls and the prices are very nominal. It’s a free entry monument. The yoga center offers a serene retreat for spiritual seekers. The merchandise shopping allows you to buy different things. Better to visit in the evening, you can see the laser light show in the statue, it will start around 7:10pm everyday.

The most peaceful place I’ve ever been to. Saadhguru has such an amazing initiative of save the soil. Please go to the main temple first have a bath in the holy waters and sit and meditate but before doing so you need to deposit your mobile phone and bags(extremely safe and easy). You will be surprised how your meditation goes it felt like 5 minutes for me but I was in deep meditation for hours. It is stunning and peaceful inside. Pray nicely and channel your inner energy here. There are lovely food places inside the main temple which you could indulge in and it’s also cheap. The Adiyogi statue lights up at night from 19:20pm and they have a laser lights show for about 20 minutes or so which is so stunning it is state of the art technology and so insightful. Please support this and donate if you can.

This statue deserved a 5 star rating. I didn't observe anything negative which I can mention here. The path that leads to the statue is clean and water tanks are installed on the way. You'll come here from the back of Shivji and then at the front you can either sit or stand to attend the show.
The light and sound show is amazing. The sound quality of the speaker is good. The story they tell is amazing. Although instead of english and the local language, it'll be good if the whole show is elaborated in hindi. One can come here to enjoy the light and should show experience.

A very beautiful and calm place. There are a lot of things to visit, so plan to reach the place by 2 PM if you want to cover all the places. Apart from the beautiful statue, there is Isha foundation - a 10 min walk from the statue - which has different temples and places for meditation which is maintained by the foundation.
There is enough space for parking and the people here are very helpful and patient. A bit far from the main city but worth it!

The place is absolutely great to visit but it's a bit crowded and people do not visit this during the afternoon or summer , the sun will roast you up.
You have an option to reach the main place by front and back gate by vehicle where you have to pay 20 ₹ (but the electric vehicle guy charged us double , nominal charge and followed by an additional charge for themselves) .
Also you have an option of bullock cart.

Yesterday’s visit to the Isha Yoga Center was an experience that stands out in my memory. Nestled at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains, the center exudes a tranquil energy that is both grounding and uplifting.
The highlight of my visit was the Adiyogi Shiva statue. Towering at 112 feet, it is a sight to behold and serves as a powerful reminder of the yogic sciences’ potential for transformation. The sheer scale and artistry of the statue left me in awe, and the peaceful surroundings provided a perfect backdrop for some quiet reflection.
The Dhyanalinga was another profound experience. Sitting in its presence, I could feel a deep sense of peace that is hard to put into words. It’s a space that seems to cut through the noise of daily life and invites you into a moment of stillness.
The center is well-maintained, and it’s evident that a lot of thought has gone into creating an environment that supports self-discovery and spiritual growth. From the Nada Aradhana to the Pancha Bhuta Kriya, every element is designed to facilitate a deeper connection with oneself.
In conclusion, my visit to the Isha Yoga Center was a journey into tranquility and self-awareness. It’s a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a pause from the hustle and bustle of life to reconnect with their inner self

Adiyogi in Coimbatore is a truly awe-inspiring place that captivates both the mind and the soul. As soon as you set foot on the premises, you are immediately struck by the grandeur and magnificence of this architectural marvel.
The centerpiece of Adiyogi is the colossal statue of Lord Shiva, standing at an impressive height of 112 feet. The level of detail and craftsmanship that has gone into creating this statue is truly remarkable. It exudes a sense of power, tranquility, and spiritual energy that is felt by all who visit.
The surroundings of Adiyogi are equally enchanting, with lush greenery, serene water bodies, and beautifully landscaped areas. It creates a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere where visitors can enjoy moments of reflection and introspection.
The site also offers various facilities and amenities to enhance the overall experience. There is a meditation hall where one can engage in self-reflection and find inner peace. Additionally, there are informative displays and exhibits that provide insights into Indian mythology, yoga, and spirituality.
One aspect that stands out about Adiyogi is the dedication and knowledge of the staff. They are friendly, approachable, and always ready to provide assistance or answer any questions visitors may have. Their passion for preserving and sharing the teachings of yoga and spirituality is clearly evident.
Whether you are a devotee seeking spiritual solace or simply looking to admire breathtaking architecture, Adiyogi in Coimbatore is an exceptional destination. It offers a unique blend of beauty, tranquility, and spiritual energy that leaves a lasting impression on all those who enter its sacred grounds.

The Eachanari Vinayagar Temple, located in Coimbatore, is a historic temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple's tower is intricately carved and draws visitors from all over the world due to its splendid architecture and peaceful ambiance. According to legend, the temple's 6-feet tall Vinayaga idol was being transported to another location when it got stuck at its current location after the cart's axle broke.
Located on national highway NH209. Vinayagar statue in almost 6 feet, we can worship the god from a distance without hassle.
Well maintained temple. A beautiful temple with good ambiance . Every day Ganapathy homam is performed. Powerful and vibrant Vinayagar
Must visit place and it is only 15 Km away from Coimbatore.
This Temple is opened from 5am everyday and is closed at 10pm without any break of worship time.

This is very famous temple in coimbatore. People come here from many places to worship god Vinayaka. For new vehicles, new business come here for special pooja. In the side there is sacred fig tree under which naagar statues are present. It will be cool inside the temple always and is not closed in afternoons. This temple has golden chariot, goshala, flower garden, yagasala, a shop having spiritual book, holy threads and vinayaga's photos. This temple is very spacious and not so crowded in weekdays except on monthly chaturthi's. Every day annadhanam is offered in afternoons. Restrooms are available here.

This place is BLISS. Actually, we went on Monday. There were very less crowd.
We saw the God with peace.
Vinayagar here is big and so beautiful. The temple is wide and windy which give your soul relief!
This place has inbuilt Mandapam for marriage functions and avail annadhanam.
Also, I saw there were little maintenance work going in there for enhancement.
Facilitated with parking for both two and four wheeler.
You can wash your legs before entering the temple.
Shops available nearby to buy poojai items.
Separate place to break coconut which is located nearby Arasamaram Vinayagar.
Restrooms and wash area are available.
We went from Prozone mall to this location by using Google Maps, which was really helpful.
Happy visiting this place 😊

We went on Tuesday evening around 7 pm it was abisshegam time & mentioned golden chariot will begin at 7.15 so we waited and they opened by 7.40 & Rs 20 special ticket is not worth usually they will take us near Vinayagar but now for this ticket you can should stand inside next to free Darshan.

Eachanari Vinayagar temple was unique of its own because of its location as well as the ample space around. Before the puliyakulam vinayagar this was in place I remember the age old traditional structures around, when there were no flyovers it will be too crowded.
Now recently the flyover actually helps us to peacefully park our vehicle and get into the temple.
Ticket for vehicle Pooja - Rs.20
Outside shops:
Coconut plate - Rs.100
Garland for car & 5 lemons - Rs.380 (Very over priced )
The temple was sparking clean and we had a peaceful Dharshan as well did the Pooja for our new vehicle without any hassles. May be just it was the next day to pongal it was not that crowded.
A calm and soulful experience! ❤️🌾💐

Om Maha Ganadhipathaye Namaha !
Peaceful temple. Whenever we buy a vehicle its a mandatory feel comes to heart that we should visit God Ganapathy here and get his blessing. Blissful temple.
One thing about the pooja items shop in front of the temple is , they are cheaters selling one lotus and handful of arugampul for Rs.80, also 5 lemons and a small coconut for Rs.70, so you can get things from your home or other shops while coming to temple itself. These shops keepers have that attitude, if you want then buy else go because we don't lose anything because of you. So better don't buy anything.

It is said that when the idol of Vinayaga measuring 6 feet high and 3 feet in diameter was being transported from Madurai in a cart for installation at Perur Pateeswarar Temple, the axle of the cart broke and it became seated in the place where the temple was constructed

It is located at about 12 kms. from Coonoor bus stand. It is a unique rock of tremendous proportions, jutting out of the face of hill side in the formation of Dolphin's Nose. The view here is extremely grand. Left and right are great ravines, on one side is seen an excellent view of the magnificent St. Catherine’s Falls with their stream continuing several thousand metres below, while on the other, the familiar Coonoor stream meets the stream from Kotagiri. The deity has no roof but there is a large entrance mandapam in front. Abhisheka Pooja at around 11 am is very eloborate.

We worshipped Lord Lakshmi Narasimhar and Anjaneyar. Priests were polite and did Aarathi patiently. But the devotees were not patient and everyone wanted to jump the queue. The shops before Anjaneyar temple have encroached the road and the municipality administration didn’t bother to remove them.

Approach it from the back if you are coming by car.
If you are lucky you will see the elephant as well.

You can pass 2-3 hours visiting this beautiful temple when you are visiting Salem as a tourist. It is one of the best places to visit in Salem. There are 1008 Siva lingams, some Murugan temples, and a Perumal temple. You can see the tremendous Siva lingam on the top of the hill. And I enjoyed that the monkeys are climbing the temples & sitting near the lingams. Finally, each Siva lingam has

We stopped by this temple when driving to chennai from coimbatore this week....this temple falls on the left of the road and they had a guiness world record dance competition going on that day so we were seeing a lot of crowd but still managed to get darshan of the main preceding deity of Sri Rajarajeshwari ma
Loved the climb to the temple but it was extremely hot for December....the 1008 lingams was a good divine touch

Amazing waterfall 👌 located in Kolli Hills, of the eastern ghats, Tamil Nadu originating from river Aiyaru.
Water falls from 300ft of height and its an amazing view🤩
Opening time 7am - 3 pm👈
Need to climb down 1200 + steps to reach falls.
Approx 30 minutes to climb down and 1hr + to climb up 😇
The view of the falls and the experience is worth all the pain👍
The water falls on rocks/ pond like place. We have to pass a 50 feet long stream (max 5feet deep) to reach the falls. A rope is tied leading people through the pond towards the waterfalls for safety.
Carry waterbottle and snacks. You may require refreshment while coming back.
Jithin Nair G — Google review
There are around 3000 stairs to go down. Going to the falls is easy but returning would be a task. It's recommended to carry water bottles.

Guys, you got to climb and get down a lot of stairs. 1200 steps totally might seem easy on numbers but it’s steep, gonna be tiring. Takes around 30mins up and 20mins down. Definitely worth the journey, water was decent, towards the lesser side only yet the height from which it falls makes it serene. For sure gonna be amazing with more water. Do carry bottle and i wish the place could be maintained, more people=more dirt snd plastics. There is a temple as well with ample parking ourside. 60 bucks charged for parking.
Rishabh DA — Google review
It's a beautiful falls. Good to take a bath. But there is no rest rooms and dressing rooms down there. It's very to walk 1300 steps down. U can bring water bottle down there with govt sticker. U can not carry any carry bags.

Actually the waterfalls beat the hell out Me 🤣
(On a funny note).
Actually it is one the best waterfalls in Tamil Nadu. Enjoyed a lot.
But U have to climb down and up nearly 1600 to 1800 steps round trip 😥😥😥 , but worth it😍😍😍

Best place to visit in kolli hills. Approx it is 18 km from 70/70 hair pin bend. In route u will find lots of spice shop, where u can find spices at very cheap rate. Ample amount of parking(₹ 60 for car) space available near water fall. Entry for water fall is ₹30 for adults and ₹20 for child. To reach waterfall u have to step down approx 1500 risers. But this much exercise is worth the view. Carry 1 set of clothes to take bath in fall. Childrens and women can't go to exact fall point as water is deep in the way. Water falling intensity is that u can feel the little pain on your body. Ladies and children can bath nearby fall. Change room is there for ladies. Great place enjoy folks.

Wonderful location, great scenic view. This is a must visit location in Kolli hills. You have to claim down 1200 steps to reach the falls, so definitely not recommended for elderly people and for those who has knee problems. Part of the path way is steep down with height steps. Otherwise the steps are constructed properly and hand rails provided for safety.

Agaya Gangai waterfalls are located in Kolli Hills of the Eastern Ghats, in India. Panchanathi, a jungle stream, cascades down as the Agaya Gangai, near Arapaleeswarar temple atop the Kolli Hills in Namakkal district, Tamil Nadu. It is a 300 feet waterfall of the river Aiyaru. It is located in a mountain valley. Since its in summer. The flow of water is little less.. But when step in to the water we feel the chillness and when we reach near the falling spot. Be make sure of taking antibiotics after that. The force of water bit higher. Once it touches our body.. You will start feeling the pain.. Its one of the most underrated spot in tamilnadu 😁😁

One of the best explorer in life, has to go through more than 1000 staircase steps, very delightful place when you reach after the strain from staircase.

This is just osum. Good place to visit.
The journey to reach this falls is good trekking experience. You will feel motivated, wondered and also exhausted at sometimes 😄
People who can't walk much due to illness, health issues or age, please avoid as we need to walk in steps for a Kilo Meter and steps are quite big at some point and quite perpendicular.
Kalai Arasan — Google review
Good place to visit and though for elders. But in general manageble for people who are active. There a string attached to get near to the waterfalls and metal bars to hold. It comes with its own risk so need to be careful while going to the fall. 600 steps to waterfall and climb back another 600 to top, so be ready for it.
Thamaraiselvan G — Google review
Best way to enjoy the nature, though it has 1196 steps to reach this place. The moment you see the falls you will forget everything and the energy you get around will blow your heart.
Best time to visit during weekdays less crowd and you can spend more time
Adhidhya Kugan — Google review
Overall experience 8/10.
The falls is really awesome one but better visit during the rainy season as it would be been more filled with water.
One can stand under the falls and experience much more. They have put a rope so that you can go and stand under the falling water.
No washrooms or dress changing rooms available for anyone.
The most biggest drawback is the pathway to reach the falls.
If you are not used to walking for long distances then DO NOT opt for this at all.
There are 1196 stairs. First one needs to climb down and it is very very steep and then reach the falls later climb back as well. Since we climb down first your legs would hurt badly after that , I have a muscle catch and my legs became stiff. Very painful the next day as well.
Entry ticket 30/adult and 20/child.
No carrying water bottles and if you are carrying they will add a sticker and take 10 6 and then refund the same once you show them the bottle while exit .
Timings are from 6am to 3pm only after that not allowed inside as it might get dangerous.
Overall ok if you exercise regularly or walk then you would love it
Best time to visit monsoon or raining.
Time duration takes almost one hour for one side.
Priyanka Venkatswamy — Google review

There are changing rooms for ladies at the foothill of the waterfalls.

Yercaud is a charming hill station situated in the southern part of Tamil Nadu, India. It is located in the Shevaroy Hills that are well-known for their coffee, fruit, spice plantations and also famous for orange groves. The town has a beautiful lake called Yercaud Lake that offers boating experience to its visitors and is surrounded by lush gardens and woods.
Grange TreeTop Adventure offers an exhilarating experience for visitors looking for adventure in a jungle setting. The park offers multiple ropes courses and zip-lining through the trees, making it perfect for those seeking excitement. The high rope course is especially adventurous, with staff providing guidance and encouragement throughout the entire task. This place is highly recommended to anyone who wants to try something new while visiting Yercaud.
Good to see the place they keep clean & neat.
Kept something about realistic inside to the nature.
Prices are very compact comparing to the next doors of Sky Park.
Less in adventures play but made satisfactory.
They have Low Rope play for Kids - Price 300/- per head.
High Rope play for Adults - Rs. 400/- per head.
Zip line is there for 100 Mtrs for Kids with safety measures & a guide guides in all activity.
Must try before entering into high pay adventure parks.
No crowds - Kids enjoy very well.

Grange Adventure activities were enjoyed thoroughly by the kids. Though some of the activities were not available, the kids enjoyed the Rope course, Zip line and Archery. To use the ATV (The All Terrain Vehicle) we were asked to drive in our car, to a place short distance away from the Grange Resort, which was unacceptable. The overall maintenance of the resort and the upkeep of the equipment needs a immediate look into. The equipment looked unimpressive, rusty and old. The charges are ok. The staff seemed experienced to handle any eventuality. There was a very dirty pond with filthy water, abandoned and another dirty pond with unused boats. But for this poor maintenance and upkeep, it deserves better score than 3 stars.

Good place for rope course adventure games. The kid's course is 300/- for 7 rope walkways and the adult's course is 400/- for 8 rope walkways. Not much else though. Kids have water boats, archery and shooting but that looks overpriced. GST is extra.
No parking is available so need to park on the road. Rope courses are good and similar to Poppy Hills.

Awesome spiritual experience. Large temple complex. Has 4 gates. If you go early, you will find parking on the adjoining roads. There is also a private bath and refresh facility near by, not very well kept though. Lot of adjoining restaurants. Go early to the temple, crowd will be less. There are also smaller temples around the main temple building, within the compound. Don't miss them.

Firstly, I would like to tell the reader that.. visit this fort if you admire history, love trekking, and adventure.
Though this fort is under ASI ( Archeological Survey of India), it is not well maintained, May be because a lot of tourists do not visit this place.
I request visitors to keep the place clean. It is disheartening to see plastic bottles.. etc thrown in each corner.
There is no issue of parking at this place. After parking the vehicle, it is advised to visit the toilet. After you enter the fort, there is no toilet. And no point doing it in the fort ( seriously).
Do not carry food in hand as the place has a lot of monkeys, and dealing with them within the fort can be very challenging. Carrying water will be nice as you can get dehydrated quickly under the sun.
Make sure you wear comfortable shoes as the treck is challenging and a proper grip will ensure safety.
Best time to trek will be before noon. You can buy tickets online by scanning the QR code.

Do bring water as you cannot get any on the hike, and be prepared for a substantial hike.
And do NOT keep anything in your vehicle, especially if you're on a motorcycle, as the monkeys will ransack your vehicle at the parking by the time you're back

Book tickets online before or using the QR code scanner. Show ID proof and enter. There are two hills to trek. The Rajagiri hill near the ticket counter has many monuments at the base to explore and then a long trek to the top. Better visit the base and monuments and then go to ranigiri, the second hill. Its a 45 minute one way steep trek to the top. Take water bottles. Beware of monkeys. Old Parents can sit at the base of the main ticket counter fort garden and wait while you cover the trek. The Rajagiri trek is 1.5h oneway but not that steep. A good place to visit and take photos.

One of the most beautiful place that I happen to visit on a road trip. Though just ruins now, it still holds a certain charm of the old Indian architecture. Built by the Kona dynasty and then further improved by the Cholas, this fort was impregnable and couldn’t be conquered by invaders for a long time. Eventually, the fort passed on from one dynasty to another and many additions were added. The British called it “Troy of East” because of it’s ingenious architectural marvel. Definitely worthy of a visit.

The fort is quite ancient, there are 3 nearby hilltops where some ancient buildings are there. It’s but difficult to reach the top, please carry water bottles during sunny days. Path is available to reach the top and in between some flat area. There is also a temple present while going up. At the top there is a temple with no idol and some buildings used in ancient days. There is a cannon in the middle of the trek. One fine place to visit for a day and you can carry back historical memory. There is a bridge connecting 2 mountains on the top which is the only way to reach. There in entry fees and restroom facilities are available and separate amount for car parking as well.

Gingee fort is one of the unknown tourist place in Villupuram district . You get to see a lot of temples in the area , the total duration of the hike is 2 and half hours . The place is surrounded by beautiful rock formations and the view from the top is amazing. You will easily spend some hours in this hidden gem .

Visited this fort during my trip to Pondicherry. You get to see a jaw dropping view from the top of the Fort! Although my legs and shoulders turned numb after climbing to the top, I really enjoyed at the place. And do not forget to carry water bottles to this place.

Place is cleanly maintained. There are two hills, and we went to the main one till the halfway mark..it was worthy trek to see how they hav built these things. Probably wil plan better and make it to the top next time. Installing some railings might help climb as we saw many senior people trying to climb too... Historically great place..

No professional Cameras, no Drones, no selfie stands. Videography is strictly prohibited in the premises. If at all you need to, please get a permission from archeological department or tourism department, Chennai. Feel free to take as many still photography on your mobile phones only. A check point available at fort entry to restrict carrying any above items.
A few structures at foot of the hill are maintained better compared to the top hill structures. A few empty buildings like tower, Gymnasium, granary, open assembly, huge pond and small mundaps are preserved and open for tourist visit. A few Huge trees added beauty and shade in the fort.
Hill climbing is easy with Rocky steps and dirt track but little lengthy and at some places the step's length is a bit short for a safe foot step, carry your water and snacks if planning for hill top, no facilities available as it is a preserved location by archeological department. A few mandaps on the way will provide good shades for resting. After all the efforts, the view is good but not as great as our efforts.
Bike parking - Rs. 15
Fort entry - Rs. 25
Toilet facility available at the entry of the fort.

As you climb the hill to reach the fort, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The trek to the top is an adventure in itself, offering a perfect blend of nature and history.

Paradise Beach in Puducherry is a beloved destination for both locals and tourists. The beach boasts golden sands, blue waters, and palm trees, offering a tranquil escape from city life. Visitors can enjoy the simple seafood restaurant, restrooms, and rattan shaded areas. Boating to the beach takes 10-15 minutes but offers a chance to picnic on an island-like setting with various activities available until evening.
The best beach I've ever experienced in my life so far. The sand is so fine and clean. Anyone who visits for the first time will definitely fall in love with the beach. There are many activities to have fun and spend some quality time.

On one side of this Beach, there is Sankaraparani River and on the other side Bay of Bengal, so this place is a visual treat especially in the evenings after 4PM.
There are many activities available here for both kids and adults. Camel Ride they take till 500 metres to and fro and charge about 236 per person, which is probably little high!
One good point to highlight is they clean the trash on the shore regularly so that it does not get into the sea and at the same time gives a very good, private beach feeling to the visitors. 👍
Although shores are maintained clean, path leading to sea from boating point is very dirty and not at all maintained clean and that’s the only reason for four stars.

Probably the best sea beach among the south-east India. Neat and clean, well decorated and maintained! A must visited place in Pondy ❤️

If you wanna kill time or plan picnicking on an island like place, this will be a great choice. There will be 10-15 mins of boating to reach the place (it costs some bucks,a little pricey), and after it, you will be allowed until eve to try different activities, bathe, and enjoy riding. Return boats are available every 15 minutes, we came by the last boat. Seafood is affordable and tasty here: they also have a restaurant inside. The beach is clean, and individual huts were there to chill. Try avoiding weekends, huge crowd can be there.

Paradise Beach, located in Pondicherry, is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. This picturesque beach is an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility, relaxation, and a touch of nature's beauty.
Upon arriving at Paradise Beach, one is immediately captivated by the pristine white sand, which stretches as far as the eye can see. The turquoise waters are inviting, offering a refreshing dip for those looking to cool off from the Indian sun. The beach is well-maintained, with clean surroundings and a sense of order that ensures a comfortable and enjoyable visit.
One of the highlights of Paradise Beach is its serene and peaceful atmosphere. Unlike some crowded beaches, this haven remains relatively untouched, providing visitors with a sense of solitude and an opportunity to unwind. The lack of commercialization and noise pollution allows visitors to truly connect with nature and appreciate the beauty that surrounds them.
The beach is easily accessible by a short boat ride from Pondicherry's Chunnambar Boat House(Rs. 354/- per ticket), adding to the adventure and excitement of the visit. The boat ride itself offers a scenic view of the coastline and the opportunity to witness local marine life.
Paradise Beach also has a few food stalls and huts, offering a variety of delicious local delicacies and refreshing beverages. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food is satisfactory.
Paradise Beach will undoubtedly leave you with cherished memories and a sense of rejuvenation.

Not just One of the best beaches in pondicherry but also one of the best places in Pondicherry and you just cant miss this place here. You can either go directly or come to the Paradise boat house and take a motor boat to visit the paradise island. Motor boat price is 350 per head. Parking and entry charges are very nominal.
Island is beautiful with some beautiful shaks everywhere. You can enjoy the beach having some yummy food and drinks. Price of food and drinks are kittle costly but its worth it with such an amazing view. For eg one small plate of noodles will cost you 180/- or sabdwich around 150/-, Watermelon juice 80/- n so on. However time spend here will definitely one of your best time in pondicherry.

The temple's architecture is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, which gives it a unique and inviting ambiance.
The intricate carvings on the walls and the vibrant colors used in the decorations add to the visual appeal of the temple.

The Arulmigu Manakula Vinayagar Temple in Puducherry is a really old and famous spot where people come to feel close to Lord Ganesha. It's known for its spiritual vibes and rich history. This temple is a special place for Hindus and it's a good break from the usual hustle of life.
If you're visiting Puducherry for a week or two, it's worth making time to visit this temple at least once. People believe that if you pray to the main deity, who is a form of Lord Ganesha, with all your heart, he'll help you overcome obstacles and grant your wishes.
The history of this temple goes back about 500 years, and there are a couple of interesting stories connected to it. One story says that during the time when the French were ruling, they built a fort near the temple in 1688. They wanted to move the Vinayagar Temple to make their fort more imposing. They even tried to throw the Ganesha idol into the sea, but each time they did, it somehow came back. Eventually, they gave up and started worshipping the Lord themselves.
Another tale says that about 300 years ago, a saint with special qualities achieved enlightenment at this spot. Since then, people have considered it lucky for newborn babies.

As google says, Cholas built Brihadeeswara temple by seeing this temple, it is that great in its architecture. Lingam here is the tallest in top 3. There is a pathway around the lingam saying the way of death is the entry and way out is way of birth means, rebirth and longlife. Architecture and sculptures are intricate. Very beautiful and majestic.

Amazing temple from pallava era approx. 500 and. The architecture is very different from typical Dravidian architecture. Perhaps pre Dravidian and not in agama style. Similar to mahabalipuram like wall reliefs and south east asian style row elements(heard nandivarman II was from Sri Vijaya kingdom or malaya in se asia). There are a number of pagodas in the praharam of the temple most of which is for Shiva Parvati and family. It's all made of a unique sandatone like briks of beach sand than the like sandstone found typically in north.
A must visit for history archeology and architecture enthusiasts as well as art lovers other than bakthas. The inner most sanctum has a praharam or a wall so close to the sanctum sanctorium only one person can pass thru a narrow hole and if one manages a pradakshanam it's believed they will end their samsara cycle and attain moksha after this birth. But it is extremely claustrophobic.
The sandstones are mostly broken and chipped so the original carvings ar lost or disfigured but archeological dept has restored some of the and it looks amazing. Especially the rounded faces look more SE asian than South Indian.
There are some writings both in sounded letters similar to telegu odia scripts perhaps the pallava script and then on the outer walls there is a northern devanagri like script similar to Bengali script. Not sure what these scripts are.

The main priest was explaining about the temple and the shivling to people who was enquiring about the temple in details , I understood only some portion but it's almost 1500 years old temple if I am not wrong.
We were fortunate to take a parikarma of the grabhagrah although it was a little difficult for me due to my shoulder surgery but with lord Shiva blessings I was able to do the parikarma without any hassle.
The stone carvings on sandstone are already eroding and they have tried to preserve it using white Clement / POP.

One among the pancha bhoota lingas, la located in the temple city of kanchipuram, shiva kanchi is an example of magnificent architecture of temples of Tamil Nadu
The temple is beautifully carved with a very big Raja gopuram at entrance and with vast pillars halls, one four sides of the garbhalaya, resembling the kalahasti.
Almost all the five pancha bhoota linga, viz, kalahasti, arunachalam, chidambaram, kanchipuram and jambukeshwaram are equally big, beautiful and sacred.
The specialist here is the shiva linga was made with mud by the divine mother matha Parvati herlself under a mango tree which is still there.
A sacred water pond on the left side of gharbalaya with a big Namdeeshwara in front are the special attractions. The temple timings are morning 6 to 12.30 and evening 4 to 8.30...

This temple has a great history, which is modified in construction and it's part in enhancement of shaivisam by many of the rulers along the timeline. that you could observe the details of different rulers style in the temple architecture.
Even lord Venkateshwara also present in this temple which is unoften.
Here , you see the lingam in a conical shape which is quite different from the traditional lingam.
Actually the temple built by pallavas, and later modified by cholas etc..,
The beautiful thing is here is the kamatchi Amman built the lingam from sand itself and prayed.that is the reason why, it's called prithivi lingam.
It is one of the pancha bhootha lingam's. Which represents sand or Earth 🌎 (Basic elements of five ).
Coming to the architecture of the temple, It's having a grandeur heritage and perfect temple template.

It is called prithvi lingam. There is 3500 old tree on display to the left when entering the temple. There is also new mango tree with Shiva, Parvathi idols under it. Ekambareswarar Temple (Ekambaranathar Temple) is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Shiva, located in the town of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, India.[1] It is significant to the Hindu sect of Saivism as one of the temples associated with the five elements, the Pancha Bhoota Stalas, and specifically the element of earth, or Prithvi. Shiva is worshiped as Ekambareswarar or Ekambaranathar or Rajlingeswaram, and is represented by the lingam, with his idol referred to as Prithvi lingam. His consort Parvati is depicted as Elavarkuzhali. The presiding deity is revered in the 7th century Tamil Saiva canonical work, the Tevaram, written by Tamil saint poets known as the nayanars and classified as Paadal Petra Sthalam. The temple also houses Nilathingal Thundam Perumal temple, a Divyadesam, the 108 temples revered in the Vaishnava canon Nalayira Divya Prabhandam.
The temple complex covers 10 hectares (25 acres), and is one of the largest in India. It houses four gateway towers known as gopurams. The tallest is the southern tower, with 11 stories and a height of 58.5216 m (192 ft), making it one of the tallest temple towers in India. The temple has numerous shrines, with those of Ekambareswarar and Nilathingal Thundam Perumal being the most prominent. The temple complex houses many halls; the most notable is the thousand-pillared hall built during the Vijayanagar period.
The temple has six daily rituals at various times from 3:30~4:00 a.m. to 10 p.m., and twelve yearly festivals on its calendar. Panguni Uthiram festival celebrated for thirteen days during the Tamil month of Panguni (March - April) is the most prominent festival of the temple and the town.
The present masonry structure was built during the Chola dynasty in the 9th century, while later expansions are attributed to Vijayanagar rulers. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The temple is the largest and one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the city

The Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is a protected wetland habitat for birdlife that has been safeguarded by the local community for over two centuries. This sanctuary attracts wildlife enthusiasts and tourists alike, being one of the most popular destinations in Tamil Nadu. Previously known as a hunting ground for aristocrats due to its diverse population of local and migratory birds, it now offers an opportunity to observe these species in their natural habitat.
Nice place for bird watchers. Have a binocular handy to enjoy watching birds. Binoculars available for rent outside the sanctuary. Entry fee Rs.10 for adult and Rs.5 for children above 5 years. There is a watch tower inside for which have to pay 20 per head. Almost 1 KM stretch walking aside in the sanctuary. We could find about 5 to 7 varieties of birds.

The entry fee here is Rs10 per adult and Rs30 for mobile camera. In the entrance there will be roadside shops for renting binoculars. They will charge Rs50 - Rs100 for one hour according to the quality of binoculars. Binoculars are a must to watch birds.(if you have long focus lens camera or loon zoom camera mobile then binoculars are not mandatory) While Renting your binoculars, check the lens and view. There will be a bunch and bunch of birds in the sanctuary. Mostly the birds are of upto 5-6 varieties. From mid February to mid march you can see several varieties of foreign birds. In the sanctuary there will be a Telescope tower, in which you can go on the stairs and they have 4 telescopes. They charge Rs20 per person for the telescope tower separately inside the sanctuary. The telescope there are very bad conditions and they are not clear to watch. But from that tower we can watch birds with our rented binoculars or camera, the view will be good. There is a pay and use restroom. They charge Rs5 per person. Restrooms are clean.

Visited during February month (winter season is the best option) and suggested timing is during the evening, from 4 PM (to avoid sun and heat). Have seen lots of varieties of birds and got immersed in their elegance and sound of chirping. Forget everything and just live the moment to feel the peace. The sunset on the other side took away the moment to the next level. Binocular view strongly suggested! 👀 You never be disappointed as like in the Zoo that animals may be resting inside the cave. Birds will just fly and swim their way 🕊️🦢

Because I hope everyone would love this place. Site seen pleasant and unbelievable, they have build towers and visitors do have lake view area with seaters. Trees are covered all over the place that is remarkable and value added in summer and sunny time. I will suggest to go on slight rainy time you feel exceptional with that climate in particular, Sanitation is fine and drinking water taps attached with animals statue next to the walking pavements every few distance, you do have Ample parking space area (Open). Entry Tickets are very cheaper, but for camera and mobile seperate ticket they charging, you have options for binacular for rental in shops nearby. Small food shops for basic eatable items.

The oldest Bird sanctuary and also perhaps the only one that has numerous winged visitors is Vedanthangal . Though we couldn't spot more than just two birds , the season from October to March usually brings in varieties of birds .
What I like about the place is that it's well maintained , with tiled walkways. Women workers were busy cleaning and I couldn't find a single piece of plastic / waste in the entire stretch .
For viewing the birds , there should be more watch towers . The lone tower is old and can accomodate hardly ten persons - shudder to think how it would be during the peak season.
Season supposedly brings Egrets , Herons , cormorants , storks , pelicans etc .
Parking lot should be widened to accommodate more vehicles . The staff at the ticketing counter was courteous and helpful.

Lots of eateries like fresh cut mango, cucumber, native guava, tender coconut, etc were available at the entrance. Binoculars were to available for rent at Rs 50 per hour.
Good Hotels for Lunch NOT available. One may pack variety rice / snacks from home as lunch is not served there.
Worth a day-trip with family & children from. Chennai. ( about 70 km from Chennai.)

My Travel Experience
Get there early
Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is open from Sun Rise to Sun Set. Please get here early before 7am before the birds go in search of food in the nearby fields.
On my way to Vedanthangal
When I was on the way to Vedanthangal and near the Bird Sanctuary, I was able to feel the calmness and lot of agricultural fields. Surrounded by greenery everywhere. This is the major reason why these birds would have made this place as their breeding ground.
Parking
I was expecting a large parking lot or a designated parking lot, similar to Vellode Bird Sanctuary in Erode, TamilNadu. However, there was enough space on the road side near the entrance to park my vehicle.
Get your Binoculars
Anyone who want to see the birds with good detail and closer, could rent the Binoculars at the Ticket counter. I brought my own Binacular and felt it was worth they recent buy. I recommend Nikon Aculon A211 12 x 50 Binocular or Olympus Binocular 10x50 if you are really interested in Bird watching or Star gazing.
What type of lens to use ?
I used my Canon EOS Rebel T6 Camera with a 300mm lens to take the photos and videos. However, I would recommend 600mm to 800mm lens to get a much closer picture.
Toilets and Cleanliness
The Bird Sanctuary has good pavement to walk and see the birds. There are designated spots where people could sit and have the food that they have brought with them. The dust bins are available almost every few yards and they are enclosed to protect wildlife from feeding on trash. The toilets were well maintained and I would definitely appreciate the staffs working here.
Don't miss the Tower
There is a small tower in Vedanthangal that provides a better view of the entire place and better spot to get a closer picture of the birds,
Small Bird Sanctuary
The trees that grow in Vedanthagal lake help these birds to build their nest safely surrounded by water. The entire place was beautiful and the birds were calm and relaxing at this place, as if they are at their home, feeling safe and not much to worry about. however, I felt my trip ended within 2 to 3 hours after my arrival. I was surprised that it was small, as I wanted to go further and see few more birds around this water bird sanctuary.
My interest for bird watching
After visiting this place I got more interested in watching Birds and want to take a closer picture of these beautiful creatures. I went to Vellode Bird Sanctuary after visiting Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary. Checkout my travels blogs.

Went in April first week and the place was full of birds like flowers on trees. Most of them were painted storks and herons. There were also a few pelicans, ducks etc. There's a nice walkway with coverings, benches and watch towers. The place is affordabsolutely clean. Toilets are also maintained well. Surprisingly very little crowd in a weekend morning. Binoculars are available for rent in private stalls at the gate.

The place is very peaceful and clean. You can rent binoculars in the shops nearby for 50 INR. There are boards explaining each bird characteristics. It's great to visit such a place where birds are preserved. I highly recommend.

It's a birdwatching paradise. You can see hundreds and even thousands of birds in post monsoon season. It opens at 6 am. I have been better multiple times and highly recommend a vist here if you are a birdwatcher. You can spot multiple species of Storks, Pelicans, Egrets, Cormorant, Flamingo etc. It also has watch towers and it is clean and well maintained.

Entry ticket would be Rs 10 from age 11 onwards. Mobile camera charge would be Rs 50. Binocular rent would be Rs 100 for one hour. Better buy a good and brand one to see the clear view of birds. We can spend 2 hours effectively and can carry food and have it inside. The place was very clean and neat. Monkey was roaming and should be careful on food bags. We have seen around 10 types of birds. The climate was good.
Proper car parking was Limited and we can park the car on the road side...

I visited with family in Feb 2024, I was surprised to see so many birds just chilling on the water! Lakhs of birds mostly pelican different varieties of cranes, and ducks, goose all were staying with their families in nest catching fish. Well constructed pavements to walk and you can take a stroller if you got a kid. Take your binoculars the ones they rent outside are broken. Take your cameras(good ones) to do nice memorable pictures. Tickets are very cheap for entrance around 30rs and car parking 30rs.

Great place to visit with family, especially for bird lovers. Best time to visit is between November to February and can extend till April, but the number of birds might get reduced. Open from 6am to 6pm but the best time to visit is in the evening after 4pm when the birds start returning to feed their young ones. Entrance ticket is Rs.25 and Rs.20 for Mobile cameras for a family and seperate charges for camera. There is a watch tower from where you can see the complete Sanctuary. You can also pay Rs.20 additionally and watch the birds from 2 powerful telescopes, it's worth it. Also, we got binoculars rented for Rs.100 at the entrance. Binoculars are rented for Rs.50 and Rs.100 and went for Rs.100 binocular after trying out many of them. We went on a weekday and there were very few visitors. Car parking is not that great and very limited nearby.

Good place to watch different varieties of birds.. opens at 6am in morning on everyday. Bring binocular to view the birds and u should bring camera for taking photos because in phone the zoom may lose its resolution so prefer taking camera there.. parking space is there.
On the way view is good if u go early morning the road view is nice.
Visit the place early to avoid crowd..
Nice place to enjoy the early morning weekend with families or friends

Krishnas Butterball is an unusual tourist attraction in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, India. The 260-ton granite boulder is perched on a downhill slope and is either standing or resting on its base. The rock is said to be the resting place of Krishna, the Hindu deity who stole butter from his mother's butter handi.
It's one of the nature's mistry. The massive stone standing on a sloped rock with minimum support at the base. Perfect example of super natural things in this world even the science cannot answer.
For someone it looked like Krishna's butter ball. Nice thinking!! Must visit place for all ages. Nice place for selfies and photography!!!!!

Visited this place at Mahabalipuram. The place is situated at the heart of the city and is a archaeological site having many attractions along with the butter ball. There other caves and monolithic temples and Rath in the same premises. The place is well maintained and really kept very clean by the local administration. Also the light house in the same premise is must visit place to climb upon enjoy the scenic view of the place and the coastline. The ticket charges are 40 per person in which u can visit all the archaeological site in the city. Be aware of the monkeys there.

Krishna's Butter Ball is an enchanting natural wonder and a testament to the marvels of geology. This massive, seemingly precariously balanced rock has captured the imagination of visitors for centuries.
The site is not only a geological anomaly but also a charming place to visit. The lush greenery surrounding the rock and the panoramic views of Mahabalipuram create a serene atmosphere.
It's a popular spot for both tourists and locals, offering a unique photo opportunity and a sense of wonder.

"Krishna's Butter Ball in Mahabalipuram is a remarkable testament to nature's wonders, showcasing an awe-inspiring natural rock formation that defies gravity. Its massive size and seemingly impossible balance leave visitors in awe, offering a unique opportunity to marvel at the forces of nature while soaking in the rich history and culture of the area. A must-visit destination for anyone exploring the enchanting landscapes of Mahabalipuram."

It is a massive 20 feet high and 5 meter wide rock stands on a slippery slope of a hill on less than 4-feet base. It is called as Krishna's Butter Ball.🏀
According to Hindu mythology, when the great god Krishna was just a baby, he was fond of stealing butter. Following this tradition, the big orange stone has been likened to a giant dollop of purloined butter that the god dropped.

Well. There is nothing much to see by paying money for tickets IMO. We can see some old constructions and temples. This was good. But, loved this tower. If we climb it up then the view will be awesome 👍
Must try this one.

Awesome place to hang around. Under construction remains of temples just gives a feeling how much more man life's work left to complete a temple to be carved out of single stones. Generations of labour would have been taken. Place is well kept but still I could see people throwing plastic waste just like that like they don't care. Rocks are very slippery especially in rainy days so be careful

I have been in Chennai for more than 10 years, but I never visited Mahabalipuram. Actually I planned multiple times to visit these historic places to explore and gain experience, but it took more than 10 years to come to this place. Unlike other tourist places, in Mahabalipuram we need to roam around to visit the different places. Earlier I thought of taking a single ticket to get a complete exploration, but the reality is totally different. When we reached/entered the bus stand we didn't know where to visit first and asked for parking. The local guy asked me to park the vehicle just opposite to the bus stand, later I came to know that the place was "Sea shore Temple". We parked our vehicle near that temple, and we first went to visit Krihna's butter ball place. Entrance fee was 40 rupees per head (below 15 years entry is free) and there was no extra cost for Camera. It was very hot Saturday afternoon, and the entire area was filled with hot sunlight. We slowly explored the places inside the premises. At the entrance, the great Krishan's butter ball welcomed us with its giant look. Right hand side we could see a rock temple which has a collection of sculptures and a few big trees. There was a wide grass lane where our kids could run and enjoy their time. We need to start exploring the place from the left side. We could see some bigger rocks and a few sculptures. Inside the premises, we can buy some snacks to settle down the heat, we bought some mangoes, cucumber, butter milk and water bottles. There was a museum located inside the campus, they charged 10 rupees again (but optional only), also to explore the lighthouse we needed to pay 10 rupees again. The terrible part is each time, we have to pay 20 rupees for DLSR cameras. Exploring light houses is up to the individual's own risk, the steps and the viewpoints are very dangerous. People who are keen on exploring the viewpoint along with kids please think twice before you step into the view point. We can exit after the lighthouse which leads to the way for five rathas mandapam. Overall its a good place to explore but personally I feel, this is not the place to explore during summer-it's very hot and we easily dehydrate very quickly.

Nice place to visit. It is amazing to see this huge boulder precariously stuck on the slope. There is an entry fee to be paid. Best to pay at the Shore Temple for all three places (Shore temple, Five Rathas and Krishna's Butter Ball). The fee per person is only INR 40

Krishna's Butterball is a gigantic granite boulder resting on a short incline in the historical coastal resort town of Mamallapuram in Tamil Nadu state of India. It's a must visit place in Mahabalipuram.
The boulder is approximately six metres (20 ft) high and five metres (16 ft) wide and weighs around 250 tonnes. It seems to float and barely stand on a slope on top of 1.2-meter (4 ft) high plinth which is a naturally eroded hill and is said to have been at the same place for 1,200 years.

Architectural Marvel !!
This place is a beauty of its own. You will be amazed by the architectural aspects of this. This has no relation to lord Krishna but it is just named as Krishna's butter ball. There is a big lawn in front of it where one can sit alone, with friends or family and spend some quality time. Summers can be bit harsh but winters and rainy seasons should do.
Sai Ram Nikhil Ravuri — Google review
Had a good experience there. Tickets are fairly priced for indians. One gets access to visit 3 places with one ticket.
The views from the above was nothing great to see but the climbing part was beautiful.
Also there were many vendors on the way of climbing who were selling fresh butter milk and other refreshments. That was really good during the journey.
Amjad Hasan — Google review
It is a fantastic spectacle. The large rock is at the edge of another rock but it doesn't fall. It defies Gravity. However the visit should be made very early in the morning otherwise the scorching heat wouldn't allow to enjoy the beauty.

Krishna's Butter Ball is a unique and intriguing natural rock formation located in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, India. The massive boulder, seemingly defying gravity as it precariously balances on a slope, is a popular tourist attraction.
Visitors often marvel at the colossal size and peculiar shape of Krishna's Butter Ball. The site offers a picturesque setting, and the historical and cultural significance adds to its appeal. However, as it is primarily a natural wonder, the experience might be brief, and some visitors may desire more detailed information or additional amenities.
In summary, Krishna's Butter Ball is a fascinating geological formation that captivates with its size and balance, making it a worthwhile stop for those interested in nature's wonders and historical sites.

One of the most calm and serene places in Mahabalipuram. The area is vast, lots of rock carvings and formations. The spotlight being the butter ball which itself makes you wonder how it stays on a slope without falling. The surrounding lawns are well maintained. There are a lot of spots to sit and relax on top of the rock and it's windy there making it even better.

Mahabalipuram was quite an underrated town for us and thats y it took us by surprise. Its beautiful, ancient & so mysterious. Start off with buying a 35/- ticket, which covers all monuments. We first visited Shore Temple, unique in its own way. At a walkable distance are the rock sculptures, panch rathas, light house, krishna s butter ball and a lot more. We spent an easy 2 hours here exploring everything. Though this location is not marked right on Google Maps, this is just the location of Shore Temple. Suggestions for improvement:
More toilets at various locations and maintain them well. Cleanliness is key.
Maps at all important landmarks, showing the relative locations of other historical spots (with distances) will be very helpful.

Shore Temple is one of India's ancient religious structures, located in the city of Mamallapuram. The temple overlooks the Bay of Bengal and is made with stone-by-stone architecture, dating back to 300 BC. Today, the temple is still eroded by the seawater and gets crowded by tourists.
One of the oldest and most beautiful rock cut architectural marvel of India. The monument is absolutely stunning with ingenious Dravidian architecture. There are also traces of Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Buddhist influences in the designs of the temple. Although, its the crowd that doesn’t seem to understand the historical beauty and behave like they own the place.

You can also find guides. It's 400 for foreigners and 30 for locals.

This is one of the seven temples exist in the sea shore of Mahabalipuram. All other 6 temples are droned or submerged under the sea. When you go a boat ride in to the sea, you will see the top of the temple droned under the sea. Fishermen knows about it. This sea shore temple is neat and clean with toilet facilities, but it is very hot during the noon time, but the temple is worth to watch and come around the temple. You can count 108 nandis (bull) around the temple and they are the security guards for lord Siva. You can see lot of stone sculptures and each has its own story and history. Don't miss it. Mahabalipuram - Maha means huge or big, Bali means cutting the head of the animal to the god and puram means village or town. On Weekends and public holidays, this place will be much crowded. From here you cannot access the beach, for which you have to come back to entrance and go to beach. You must visit this sea shore temple in the night time and see the beauty of the temple in the decorative lights especially on the full moon day. I m sure you will see the beauty with mouth wide open. Parking is pathetic here. Any day any time, you will get stuck in the traffic. You have lot of parking, but the road is narrow to take a turn and park with the vehicles coming from all the directions. Better get down from the vehicles when u near the parking and let the driver take the headache to park his vehicle and when u come back call the driver to come out of the parking. Enjoy ur time with family and friends

The ticket includes the Shore temple, butter ball and Caves. This place is good and calm to relax with family or friends. The beach entrance is on the side next to the temple and there are numerous shops on the way.
You should have to go for visit this temple
This is a UNESCO Heritage site, and maintained very well. The temple is stunning and located near the sea shore. The ancient architecture and the sea view compliment each other so well. This temple has a marvelous architecture. The sea beach so close and one can walk to the beach from the temple premises. Enough parking space available but bit crowded during weekends. Local shops and food markets are there near the beach.
Entry fee is 35₹ PP(online) and 40₹ PP (cash).
Thank you for this ..🙏🏻

Firstly you need to purchase entry ticket to enter here and the ticket is valid for total of 3 places in mamallapuram.
It's one of HERITAGE MONUMENTS.
Everything is maintained and protected very well.
It's a shore temple 🙏 but unfortunately the temple is seperated from shore😞😂, in order to protect the temple from sea, so we can't blame the management.
If u need to see the shore of the shore temple you have to exit the temple and walk from the side way.

The temple premise is well maintained. Can take some beautiful pictures from here. The parking on the outside is cumbersome as you will have to hunt for the parking space by yourself. The road is narrow too which often gets blocked by heavy vehicles such as tourist buses.
In the afternoon, it'll be scorching hot. So, make sure you bring your hats and sunglasses. An umbrella is also advisable, but since the temple is located beside the sea shore, you can expect some occasional winds.

The Mahabalipuram Shore Temple is a mesmerizing architectural marvel that stands proudly on the Coromandel Coast. Its intricate carvings, dating back to the 8th century, tell stories of ancient artistry and cultural richness. The temple's location by the Bay of Bengal enhances its charm, offering breathtaking views during sunrise and sunset. The well-preserved structure, a UNESCO World Heritage site, allows visitors to step back in time and appreciate the historical significance of this sacred site. The Shore Temple in Mahabalipuram is a mesmerizing testament to ancient architecture, gracefully standing along the shores. Its beauty is timeless, showcasing intricate designs that captivate visitors. The temple premises are commendably well-maintained, offering a serene environment for exploration.
Photography enthusiasts will find ample opportunities to capture the temple's splendor. However, accessing the site can be challenging, with cumbersome parking outside and a narrow road prone to blockages by heavy vehicles like tourist buses.
Visitors should be prepared for intense afternoon heat, bringing hats and sunglasses. An umbrella may be useful, though occasional sea breezes provide relief. Despite these considerations, the Shore Temple is undeniably worth a visit, offering a blend of history, architectural marvel, and coastal charm.

Always as Magistic as it is. The Lord Shiva's Temple built by the Pallavas during the 7th Century. It's the most mesmerizing place with lots of deep carvations & Architecture of the Ancient Kings. Great place to visit & Incredible Indian Tamizilan Vibes....

Shore Temple in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, stands as a magnificent testament to ancient Indian architecture and craftsmanship. Dating back to the 8th century AD, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a marvel of Pallava dynasty temple architecture, located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal.
The temple complex comprises three shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, with the central shrine housing a lingam symbolizing Shiva. What sets the Shore Temple apart is its unique location, juxtaposed against the backdrop of the sea, creating a surreal and ethereal ambiance especially during sunset when the temple seems to blend seamlessly with the horizon.
The intricate carvings adorning the temple walls depict scenes from Hindu mythology, including stories of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and various other deities. The attention to detail in these carvings is truly awe-inspiring, showcasing the skill and artistry of the ancient craftsmen.
Visitors to the Shore Temple are not only treated to its architectural splendor but also to its serene surroundings. The sound of crashing waves adds to the mystical atmosphere, making it a tranquil place for contemplation and reflection.
The preservation efforts by the Archaeological Survey of India have ensured that the Shore Temple remains in a relatively good state despite centuries of exposure to the elements. However, the constant threat of coastal erosion and weathering necessitates ongoing conservation efforts to safeguard this cultural heritage for future generations.

Best time to visit is from 9 am.
Entry fees Rs.90 for adults
Rs.50 for Children
They have made arrangements for visitors very well.
There are many shades to take a rest doing this summer.
The whole Zoo is about 8 to 9 kilometres and it is better to pick a bicycle for rent. the bicycles are available at the cost of Rs.30 per hour.
It will take around 4 hrs roughly to cover the whole park.
Water bottles juices and refreshment are available in between.
Is better to have lunch outside the zoo as you will not get a proper lunch inside.
So plan accordingly the best time to visit is between 9am to 1pm.
Battery car is also an option. but they are very faster and you won't get to see all animals in the zoo.
Charges 100 for adults and 50 for children.

It was a really good experience and the zoo opens by 9 in the morning (make sure you pick a cycle). It takes time to reach every enclosure despite the maps kept around every corner. You can get lost easily, but it's worth it. The ticket price for an adult is 200 INR and that's pretty expensive compared to other tourist attractions.

It's a good zoo, big enough that you can spend your whole day here.
You can take bikes (cycle) on rent, also small EV carts can be booked.
There are several food stalls in the zoo and adequate water coolers.
A lot of animals can be seen.

Maintained well. Very clean & good services. Rest rooms can be improved.
They also have ticket booking through online, so you need not wait in the queue during holidays. ( Tuesday- Holiday). Lots of trash cans are placed but still people throw the trashes on the ground. Can make strict rules & fine them.
Vehicle safari & cycle facilities are really cool. Main canteen has good food ( Decent one). It's better to take parcel from canteen and have it inside zoo otherwise it's crowded.

The zoo is good and huge. I recommend you get an e-bike or the electric car tour as it is the easiest way to navigate the zoo during hot afternoon/evening times. There are a lot of animals here and it will take you 2-3 hours for exploring the entire place but it's worth it. The tigers lions elephants and so many snakes alligators birds. Everything is fascinating to see. If you are in Chennai and you have a day to spare you can definitely visit this place with family or friends.

An attractive place for family recreation, specially with kids. Winter will be better season. For moving around the best option is hiring an electric bi-cycle, otherwise there is electric vehicle having capacity to accomodate 12 to 15 tourist. Inside the zoo area there are a numbers of food stalls.

Parking, cloak room, facilities are there. Ticket price for one adult is 200 rupees. No food items are allowed in the zoo. Plastic bottles not allowed. Wheel chair accessible place. Inside buses are there to enjoy the view of the park without walk or you may choose cycling. Walking inside these forest environment also peasefull to your soul. There are many canteens, restaurant and shops are available inside the zoo.

Kids can enjoy the experience of live animals. If you go with a mix of kids and elderly people and if you hate a long walk kindly prefer a batter car or e-bikes which is available in premises at an affordable cost.
Entry price is 200 per adult and children below 5 years are entry fee.

The Zoo is spread across vast land area with every enclosure having ample space. There is a huge parking lot. The fees are nominal and there are discounts for Government school students.
There are a variety of animals like the ones in the emoji ( 🐅🦁🐘🐍🦆🦜🦬🐟🐠🦍🐆🐢🐬🦓🦌🦏🦒🦚🦃🐊) and all of them are looked after well. It is always monitored and people can see the animals live telecasted in their official website. They also allow adoptions.
The zoo is maintained well and is a good picnic spot for kids and family to spend a day. I have been here after almost 7-8 years and I see a lot of upgrades like the 🚲, 🚐. The buggy is also very good for people who cannot walk much and would still like to get a good tour of the Zoo. But my preference was walk which will take almost 3-4 hours and then 🚲. There are a lot of rest areas and food spots too which includes good drinking water as well. It is good to avoid plastic bottles or plastic items.
Overall, a great spot to spend a day in Chennai.

Can have better food stalls. Children’s park needs revamp. Overall, good job. But can improve in organising things better.

Everyone should try to go for lion safari. It is really worth it. Lion safari is additionally charged.
Definitely kids will enjoy. It is a very big place to cover.
Battery car is available and it is additional to the entrance fee. They will take a full round, and will stop only at 5 places. They will say they will go slowly, but they are driving fast.
Electric cycles are also available. Lot of places we have snacks counters, aavin parlour so that we can take a break and refresh.

Excellent place for a day out with family or friends. Since it is a popular venue and a complete open area, it is better to visit as early as possible mainly to avoid the crowds and skip the noon heat.
Few Highlights worth mentioning
Battery car/electric bike/bicycle rentals are few options to roam this 7+ KM path. This is really a good option for people and decently maintained.
Drinking water station, rest rooms, food stalls at certain intervals are really good. Some complained on non digital payment but most of the shop are accepting digital payment, this is really nice.
The price you pay for parking, zoo entry and transport mode is very reasonable and zoo maintenance by Gov. and dept. is worth the mention.
This only downside during the visit is, depends on the day and temperature, animals hide under the hood and miss our sights.
Overall a decent 3 to 4 hours time spent at ease and worth the visit.

I have been to Many Zoological parks in India, and this was by far the biggest and the most beautiful one. The highlight of this Zoo, is the natural habitat for the animals. All animals are given very large enclosure to roam freely and also are provided with natural habitat like atmosphere.
The reptile, birds and Aquarium are added bliss to the entire experience. I saw rhinos in this Zoo for the first time in India. That too there were two healthy rhinos which was great to see.
The staff are very courteous and helpful and willing to provide help if needed.
Overall a great experience.

This is the best place to see animals up close, authorities have prepared the best facility for that.
It is a very busy place. Vehicles can be parked here for a fee. Adequate parking facility is provided here but if it is crowded it will be difficult to park the vehicle.
There are a lot of ticket counters here, but there is a big queue in front of all of them, around fifty people were in front of all the counters. The entry fee is Rs 90. For mobile camera ticket should be taken here. Please have change on hand otherwise you will not get the ticket. There is no UPI facility here. Payment can be made using debit or credit card.
As soon as you enter, you will see a man-made waterfall. There is a shop here to buy zoo products. After entering, you can buy tickets and take electric vehicles or bicycles. It is very convenient. Only those who like to walk can do it because there is a lot to walk.
There are shops inside to buy water but it will be very crowded. Free drinking water is provided here. Adequate toilet facilities are also provided. But not so good in terms of cleanliness. Here you can find almost all kinds of common birds and animals. Adequate size cages are also provided here.
Bad trends here,
1. There are no signs indicating the exact routes. It often goes astray.
2. Electric vehicles honking their horns cause inconvenience to people and animals.
3. Plastic waste can be found all over the road.
Do not leave plastic waste on the road, it is harmful to humans, animals and environment. Only those who want to walk well should walk, otherwise it will be difficult to see the whole zoo

One of the good zoo's in India.
Online ticket booking is available. On weekends and holidays, we can see huge crowd here.
Two & Four wheeler parking available.
They have cycles, e-cycles, battery cars and walking as different modes to go around the zoo.
Good variety of animals available here. During our visit time, they had more tigers.
Quick Bites available for snacks and cool drinks at nominal price.
The only drawback is the hotel. Horrible food experience. But are allowed to bring our home food inside. So better go with that or bring packed food from outside.
Its a plastic free zone. So they will arrange paper packets to replace your plastic containers (biscuit packet wrappers, chips packets). Water bottles will be sold with 10₹ extra cost. When the water bottles are returned at front gate, they will reimburse that 10₹.

Parking lot was full so, moving onto next parking space was an issue, however it was good. It would be good if the zoo has electric wheelchair facility as well., so that the senior citizens who are battling with walking difficulties and undergone surgeries can enjoy beauty of the zoo their own.

Firstly parking space is big.
As we reached early there was not much queue. Rates are increased little but reasonable as they have to maintain a big Zoo. Mandated that plastic covers are not allowed inside. The food inside the zoo is not good, pack in steel boxes. Cycles and BOV are available to take rides and watch the animals but I preferred walking. Overall it's good watch

The zoo is so much fun! There are animals from all over, like lions, monkeys, and elephants. I loved watching them play and eat. The zookeepers are nice and tell you cool facts about the animals. They even have a petting area where there are some friendly animals. It's a big place, so wear comfy shoes. There's a kids play area too. Make sure to bring snacks because you'll be walking a lot. I had a blast at the zoo – it's a great place for families and friends. Definitely a thumbs up for a fun day out!

We as a family visited the zoo during the Pongal holidays. The zoo was crowded and they didn't operate the battery car. They were charging 200 rupees for entry fee which is very high compared to previous years. The park interior could have been better and there should be amenities for old people to rest. Overall it's a good experience apart from a few issues like parking and battery car operations. I would strongly suggest you to visit during weekdays to avoid crowds and peacefully spend some time in the park.

This zoo is near vandalur. The parking cost for car is 150 rs bike us 50 rs near the zoo the parking is always full. They have other places for parking from there free bus is available but it will take so much of time. Deer and lion safari for adult is 150 per adult and 50 rs for per child. And buggy ride is same charges but these two you have to pay different different. Please carry your own water bottle along with you ir else you have to pay 30 rs and you can also save 10rs in this but you have to give the pay water bottle back to the shop called quick bites. Preferably please go in the morning to escape from sunny weather. You can see peacock, elephant, rhino, emo, ostrich, tortoise, white tiger, royal Bengal tiger, cheetah, rain deer, barah singah, small baby deer, lion, black bear and etc. Please don't litter anywhere in that place or else you have to pay 1000 rs charge for polluting that place. I have attached some pictures for reference. Young people and can walk and see the zoo but buggy ride is preferred to see the zoo. They also have 7-8 shops for eating and buying soft toys. Zoo space is very huge but I think they should keep some more animals for tourist to see.

It was a great experience visiting Arignar Anna zoo, as i could see wild animals very close. I could very closely see lions and lionesses in their natural habitat while the lion Safari . Tiger came approximately 2 meters close to where people stand to see. The tigers were in a cage.
Even though The name of the Safari is lion deer safari , deer can be seen closely in the normal zoo also and there were not many deer wandering in the place . Lion deer safari costs 300 rupees. Ticket price of zoo is 200 . If we are taking cycles electric one is 90 rupees per hour and normal cycle 30 rupees per hour.
Visiting the zoo riding Cycle will surely take 2 hours or more than that .
Total expenses will be around 700 without food , if you use all the facilities available.
There is a restaurant inside the zoo, with a variety of food options like biriyani, chicken rice, fried rice, sambar rice , sandwich etc.
Price at the restaurant is slightly high,
Vandalur railway station is 2 km close to the zoo.

Good place to visit for kids, lion safari was a great experience. But the waiting was boaring. You can use buggy, or you can hire a bicycle to visit the zoo. Didn't feel Aquarium was worth watching. Rent a cycle, is highly recommended. Don’t think about walking. You will be exhausted. Overall it is decent zoom with many wild animals. Peacocks everywhere which is beautiful see. Here and there deer are roaming is lovely to see. Don’t think about negative reviews. If you are in Chennai and have kids bring them to this place, they will enjoy lot and witness the animals. Toilet facilities to be improved, it is typical one you could see, irrespective of government this toilet facilities remains same not upto the mark. Entry ticket is 200rs per adult and 50rs for kids.

I recently visited this zoo after almost 12 years, and it was a nostalgic experience. We opted for the electric car ride, which took us around the zoo for about 1.5 hours. While on the ride, we were able to see specific animals like lions, tigers, snakes, and hippos. However, the vehicle only slowed down for the rest of the animals, so we felt like we missed out on fully enjoying them.
Given Chennai's scorching heat, walking around the zoo is quite challenging, but there is also a cycle option available. Despite this, the kids in our really enjoyed the visit. Overall, it's a must-visit place for kids.

Crocodile bank is an all time favorite for my son. He started admiring from his age 2 still going on at 12 too. Every time he has his own story to tell. This time about the comodo dragon. I love the place not only for crocodiles, snakes, turtles, birds but for the atmosphere and how they maintain it, it's always hygienic. They genuinely care about them. Some people show care by adopting. As a nature lover I have to admit the artistic carving on the stone benches and in the wooden name boards are a feast to our eyes. Mondays are weekly off day. Get ready to be pestered by hawkers as soon as you reach the entrance of the Crocodile bank. The entrance fee of Rs 100 felt steep given the condition of some of the enclosures- dirty and mossy glasses. Car parking is charged Rs 20 separately- didn’t get a receipt despite asking for it with the reply “don’t worry, I’m here”.
Many enclosures are adopted but still lack maintenance. The park has a nice tall canopy of trees, so most of the walk inside is under good shade.
There is a separate areas where the Irula tribe folks give a live demo with the big 4 snakes. This area requires another 30Rs entry fee- 25Rs and 18%GST
Overall, if one is okay with seeing wild animals kept in captivity, a decent place to spend a few hours getting to learn about them.

I’ve always loved crocodiles and alligators. When my husband and I found out about this place, we knew we had to visit! The entrance fee was reasonably priced and the enclosure seemed decently maintained. The animals look relatively well taken care of too. Removing 1 star because I’m not sure how to feel about the snake venom extraction that happens there. I’m no expert in that subject so I don’t know if it’s cruelty free.

If you have an interest in exploring the world of reptiles, this destination is a must-see. I had the opportunity to visit on January 4th, 2024, right at its 10 am opening, and was truly astonished by the variety it offered—housing crocodiles, alligators, a dedicated section for turtles, and a selection of snakes.
A tip for optimal enjoyment: consider visiting at 4 pm; it's the ideal time to experience everything the place has to offer such as the snake show and many.
One of the most heartening discoveries was the chance to adopt animals through the trust—truly a commendable initiative.

For kids it's free, adults 100Rs. Can spend 1hr there. Lots of birds excretion are there in the cage which creates a foul smell. possible that can be cleaned.

This place is just next to sheraton grand chennai resort and spa. They have parking but it is jam packed. The ticket for per adult is 150 rs and child is 50rs. They have snakes to show people but they don't allow to click pictures of snakes. They only have majorly crocodile, alligator, chameleon, lizard, tortoise there to see. Don't go in afternoon cause all the animals take rest that time.

A very well maintained museum at Chennai. You can actually see and the houses of old age from different states. We took almost 4 hours to explore the place. There is a small restaurant also with tasty food. You have different activities like mehandi, pottery, colouring etc. People were even doing photo shoot inside as it looks like a old colony. Beautiful and exciting for kids if they have interest in history. You can easily spend half of the day there if you are visiting Chennai as it is on outskirts. You have hand made craft shops also inside.

Really enjoyed visiting the place with my wife. Good place to spend time with family and children. You can teach about the art and architecture of South India. They also offer resorts inside the premises with food options. There are restroom facilities inside and the food items are a little bit pricey.
In weekdays the entry fee is cheaper. Be careful to not touch any items as they're very old and fragile.

Wow place. The best place in the whole of world to see the all traditional houses of South India and customs that they followed. Get blown away by the beauty of this place which includes amphi theatre, various activities for kids, stalls to buy traditional items and a decent food outlet. It takes good 3 hours to cover the entire place. If you plan to go with family during summer, enter the place by 3 pm so that you get away from heat as you need to walk around some distance.

It was absolutely amazing

I visited the place around 10 am on Saturday. It wasn't crowded, and I entered without waiting. The location features traditional houses representing India as a whole, along with an art museum. While the art quality is average, I noticed students on a study tour. The entrance fee is reasonable, making it a worthwhile visit if you have time in Chennai. Additionally, there are some great photo opportunities; you can capture some memorable moments here.

The place lives to its tag line.. A living museum.. Dakshin Chitra.. the names says it. It shows the picture of south.. how the place used to be in old days.. it takes u back the memory lane.. living in concrete jungle we forgot what our traditions were., how we used to live.. it has all become just memories. Thanks to places like this which preserves our tradition, and culture.. it’s a must visit for the newer generations, you get to see so many things which has disappeared from our daily lives now.. the ambiance is good, full of greeneries. Recommend to finish prior to 6pm as they start closing by that.. being inside a small forest like ambience makes it little difficult in evening due to insects and mosquitoes. They have various handcrafts which can be purchased at good price.
Places to see:
Bioscope Movie Clips
Puppet Show
Pottery
Glass blowing
Pot paintings
Henna
Dance shows and so much more..
Do visit and encourage these places as we need them to preserve and present our tradition and culture to the future generations.. they keeping it all alive and living.. thanks to the team.

Parking facility available. Ticket should be bought and for taking photos with camera and others are extra . This place is a big museum about the southern India and they have the traditional style utensils, house model built and many more for viewing . They also put short clips on stories about the culture as well for educative purpose. There’s a whole lot of craft available for purchase . Mehendi spot is there , bangle making where you and friends can get a souvenir and much more . It’s also an ideal spot for traditional shoots as the architecture is impeccable and would make for good background. They host many art as well which are too good . A play area with slide and all is also available for kids . It would be ideal to wear shoes or comfortable footwear as one may have to walk around a lot . A fun activity/spot to visit on a weekend or holiday ✨

Good to visit. To start with the security guards will be quite disappointing. They force people to park the vehicles outside the premises even if they have adequate parking inside.
Book in advance so that you can skip the que.
It will take around 3 hrs to visit so better plan accordingly. It is quite worth to visit. It might seems simple to many but take your time to visit.
Good initiative and good we support.

It is a great place if you like silence, have a historical enthusiasm, are a student, have children, or are an artist. We spend a minimum of 5 to 6 hours here on weekends. It is one of the must-visit spots on East Coast Road. The only disappointment is the restaurant inside the museum; the food does not taste good and the cost is not worth it for the quality. Apart from this, it is a wonderful museum. Go and see our old homes, enjoy taking pictures, and watch the puppet show.

Shirdi Sai Baba temple is dedicated to the 18th century saint.
Born in 1835, Sai Baba came to Shirdi when he was 16.
Many people reported miracles that had happened in their lives.
Even after death, he continues to work miracles for those who believe in him.
This temple was built in 1993 near the coast of Bay of Bengal.
The main temple is hexagonal in structure made of white marble. The white marble Sai Baba idol is in sitting posture & an exact replica of the one in Shirdi.
Beside the sanctum is a special room where the holy fire (Dhuni), burns continuously, since Baba's days. This is an unique feature of the temple.
One can see a small temple with a bronze idol of Sai Baba temple at the entrance.
The next complex has shrines for the other deities made of black stone.
You can find Vallabha Ganapathy idol with 10 arms, Dattatreya Shiva & Parvati, Durga Devi, Hanuman facing Ram, Sita & Lakshman, Vishnu facing Navagrahas, Venkateswara, Krishna & Radha, Muruga & his consorts, Valli & Deivanai.
To fulfill their wishes, devotees tie a string dipped in turmeric around the Kalapataru tree on Thur & Fri.
Those suffering from ailments take nine rounds around the Dhanvanthari tree, to get cured.

The premises hosts multiple small temples of various Gods & Goddesses for Darshan. A true reflection of Shirdi Sai, one can find the Dhuni, Chawadi, Palki, Khandoba temple etx. Parking space is ample for both 2&4 wheelers. For elders one must remember that theres a lot of walking and staircases involved for the darshan. So one may plan accordingly.
Premises also hosts a small store for stationary, gifts, posters & idols of Sai. They also sell small plants and organice manure locally made. There is also a Dhyana Mandir, in the basement.
